A few hour previously, a very weary and aching Elena Rodriguez delivered her
second child, Maria Elena del Carmen Mackenzie Rodriguez ('Yoyita'), after fourteen
hours of labor (not so bad, considering her first child, Flint, took nearly twice that
to make HIS appearance). She can barely keep her eyes open, but she's loathe to close
her eyes and sleep; the sight of the 6'4", 240 pounds behemoth cooing 'coochie-coochie-
ing' his tiny daughter is one she'll never tire of. One of many reasons she fell in love with
with the gentle giant is the contrast between the tenderness with which he cradles his newborn,
and the explosive violence she knows that he's capable of.
A nurse enters to take the baby to the neonatal bay, Mack's signal to kiss her sweetly and
encourage her to rest. A few hours later, she wakes to find hers and Mack's parents, Daisy
Deke, FitzSimmons, and May (shockingly, she has Flint in her arms, jollying him while
all of the focus is on his baby sister).YoYo sees this, and motions for her fellow agent to
pass the Little One to her.
"Su Mani lo sigue quieroendo y lo amo Papa-eso no cambiara".
For the benefit of the non-Spanish speakers in the room, YoYo's Dad thanks everyone
for being there and supporting the Mackenzie-Rodriguez family and their new infant.
"You are all much appreciated and loved for your presence. What an incredible blessing is
this Little One, the most precious blessing. My wife and I thank you more than words can express.
We are inviting everyone to to Mack and Elena's home once she is released."
A nurse comes in to take Elena's vitals, shooing everyone out in the process. Mack tells his
lady that he's taking the entire group to Ruth's Cris Steak House for a meal, and he'll see her in
a few hours.
This suits the Columbian beauty just fine. Once the nurse is finished with her, she sleeps again.
