In a peaceful, colourful part of Hawaii was a fun land called Dream Land, where everyone who lives in the villages is happy and hard-working, and where one particular hero currently resides. He is a funny, playful organism who loves to eat food, is known to have infinite power and can travel in the air at supremely long distances. His name is Kirby. In a tiny lump house next to a tree by the forest near the local village, he woke up early to a sunny morning. He went to his kitchen and swallowed a special starfruit that turned him into Cook Kirby. With his ability and all the food he had, he whipped up a lovely eggs benedict with special juice and lemons. Then he heard a knock on the door in which he went to get it. It was Fumu with a bag of supplies. Every Sunday she does Kirby's grocery shop and delivers it to his doorstep.
"Good morning, Kirby, coming a bit earlier this week."
"Hi, Fumu." Kirby retrieved the bag and put it by the cupboard. He then made Fumu a portion of the breakfast he made before dispelling to normal. Fumu, who realised she had no breakfast, thanked Kirby and sat down at the mini table with him and ate her breakfast with him.
"Gee, Kirby, this meal is just so irresistible!" Fumu hummed in delight as she took every bite. Kirby laughed as he scoffed his creation down. He loved seeing his friends enjoy his meals, knowing he was always a good cook with his ability.
"So, Fumu, how is the village getting on?" asked Kirby, who can now talk in full sentences. "No enemies I need to take down?"
"Nope. The village now has guards to protect us. They're very friendly and play with us during their breaks. They're also very talented at singing, dancing, balloon animal making, and playing with children."
"Ah."
"And they've heard about you."
"Do they admire my power?"
"For sure they do. You could go to the village and say hello to one. Shall we go do that after breakfast?"
"Sure."
It took them 5 minutes for them to finish their breakfast before they were out the door to visit the village. Bun was already at the front gates talking to one of the guards when he notices Kirby and Fumu. The guards looked like the village's best chef, Kokku Kawasaki.
"Oh, hi guys." said Bun "What are you up to?"
"Hiya, just taking Kirby to see some of our village's guards." replied Fumu "Shall we start with him?"
"Yes please," Kirby approached the guard and offered him a handshake.
"Hiya, Kirby," said the guard with a big smile on his face, shaking Kirby's hand "I'm Naoyuki, a pleasure to meet you."
"Naoyuki!" said Kirby.
"Hello, there," said an approaching Fumu who then had a handshake too.
"Hello, Fumu. Good to see you again," Naoyuki then stepped aside to let other passengers through the gates.
"Shall we say hi to more guards?" asked Kirby.
"Yeah," said Bun as ran through the gates "C'mon, they're gonna love saying hi to you."
"You both have a nice day. I'll still be here doing my duties." Naoyuki waved goodbye before standing tall like a guard. Kirby, Fumu and Bun went to find more guards and say hello to them. They indeed were friendly like Naoyuki. The next guard they met had a beautiful singing voice. They walked past him in serenity as he sang "If Only".
"Oh, he makes me feel so happy," Fumu cried in delight as they come past another guard who was dancing with two women "Wow, they can certainly dance."
Bun looked around the village and noticed King Dedede and Escargon at the community garden, the former talking to two more guards who were laughing. "Hey guys, look. Dedede and Escargon are at the community garden." he then ran to that location where Kirby and Fumu followed him. Dedede beamed at the sight of the trio approaching. "Ahahahaha, what's up guys?" he said, hugging Bun and Kirby in the process.
"I'm fine, your majesty." replied Fumu as she hand shook the king and Escargon "How are you and Escargon doing?"
"We are doing just fine, Fumu," answered Escargon "the royal high majesty just wanted a walk around the village."
"I can see you're enjoying yourselves. Talking to those guards, are you both?"
"Yeah, his guards are lucky to be hired by him. Of course, they would want to spend time with him. I just go with the flow. I know, I'm lucky to be the king's assistant."
"Well it is such a lovely day today, make the most of it. Shall we get some soda and grub?"
"Sure, my boss is pretty occupied." Noticing Kirby, Bun, and Dedede are dancing in the empty centre with more guards and citizens to village music, Fumu and Escargon went to the leisure cafe to get some refreshments and sat down at one of the tables outside. Meanwhile, Kirby showed his aerial dance with Dedede. He went 2 ft in the air and made some awesome moves. He loved to dance whenever he was in a happy mood. The music kept playing for 3 minutes until it ended with the familiar tune they play when Kirby completes a mission, in which Kirby and Dedede stepped back onto the ground and everyone in the centre did the signature dance Kirby does. Everyone applauded and cheered before another piece of village music played and they went in their separate directions.
"Aw, man. That was good!" exclaimed Dedede.
"That was awesome!" cried Kirby.
"Fumu and Escargon better have seen that," said Fumu as he looked around to notice Fumu and Escargon applauding as well.
"Man, I love seeing Bun-Bun and Kirby dance," said Fumu "it makes my day every time."
"The same can't be said for Dedede..." replied Escargon "he's not a good dancer. But at least he's enjoying himself, that counts."
"Yeah, how come you don't dance with him?"
"I don't like dancing."
"Oh, I see. Well, what do you do in your spare time?"
"I don't really do much of anything really. All of my time has been spent tending to King Dedede's needs. I can't remember when I've actually had some free time. Y'know... time to myself?"
"Oh dear, it sounds like someone needs a vacation. Why don't you go ask Dedede if you can do just that? I mean, we haven't had a "Kirby-needed" threat for months."
"Y'know what, I'm gonna do exactly that." Escargon got off his chair and slithered to Dedede, feeling nervous. "Oh bother, this is actually the first time I'm gonna be asking lord majesty for a vacation. If he says yes, today would be a blue moon in the sky. Oh well, I'm 15 feet towards him, better ask him." He came forward to a lounging Dedede and asked him if he could go on a vacation, all alone. He was apprehensive, to say the least, but then he got a shocking response.
"Sure! Take as long as you want," said Dedede and offered him a handshake. Escargon was astounded, that he allowed him to go, free to do whatever he wanted. He then greatly shook his hand and beamed marvellously. "Thank you! Thank you! You're the best!" Everyone applauded and a pilot came forward. "Your majesty, did I hear for the first time, you've allowed Escargon to take a vacation?"
"Yes you did." answered Dedede "Escargon is free, until further notice from him."
"Well then, I shall fly him to wherever and whenever he wants to go."
"Can I take another person with me as well?" asked Escargon.
"Why of course." granted the pilot "Who do you wish to take?"
"Kirby."
"Who, me?" Kirby asked, surprised.
"Yeah, little one. I want you to be my vacation buddy."
"Oh yes, please. I would love to go. I need a break myself, you know. Where are we going?"
"Hmm... I haven't thought about that yet. But I'll think of something. Why don't we both pack our stuff while we think of where we could go. I'm thinking of staying out for a month. Would that be okay for you?"
"I've got all my life to spend with my friends. Of course."
Both Escargon and Kirby went back to their residences to pack. Fumu and Bun helped Kirby whilst Dedede helped Escargon. Escargon was looking forward to his vacation away from Dream Land. But the question that remains unanswered; where will he and Kirby be going?
