Work Text:

After the thousand of years eternal struggle, after hundreds of comrades,- friends,- were lost, after so many sacrifices not even armies could count them on both sides-

Finally, a shadow slowly walks out of the gigantic, blocking shinsu wall. The fight between God and King had been too much, too big, too important for anyone to see, so the administrator had blocked them off.

So they could fight. So, King and God could battle. So they could end the war that had been started hundreds of thousand years ago.

And ever since the shinsu wall had been established, the tower held its breath.

No sound went through, no vibrations, God and King were blocked off until one came out as victor.

Hours passed, then days, weeks, months maybe even years but no one bothered to count as the moment that everything had built towards playing right before their eyes.

Right out of reach for anyone to interfere.

Until a shadow emerged, and the whole tower seemed to freeze.

Slowly the victor steps towards the waiting armies, enemies and allies alike staring as the battle they were fighting was forgotten in the tension and suspense of the moment.

The victor stood before them all, now. There for everyone to see.

And to declare his victory, to end years of suffering and conflict and pain,

Jyu Viole Grace, The 25th Bam, roared.

He yelled out, he screamed like never before, like a monster declaring its victory he screamed out the most painheld noise he ever made.

And as God declared his victory, the mortals joined his celebration.

The roar echoed through the whole tower, shaking its foundation as the people joined its wailing. Creatures of shinsu yelled along to celebrate the new God, as almost every living creature joined the almost harmonized yell that couldn't be identified to be of harmony, pain or joy.

To celebrate victory. To celebrate loss. To mourn. To cry.

In Union.

Off from the battleground, watching over everything, the Ten Heads who were warriors no longer all had different reactions, none of them truly happy or sad. The usual smirks they held were wiped off their faces as they looked upon the cheering armies with a tired expression. Because after all those years of adventure, of conflict, of power, no matter whose side they fought on, that's what all of them had in common now.

They were tired.

And so, one of them cracked a pained smile and lifted up a glass of wine. “To the king and his no longer indestructible empire.” he spoke, taking a sip.

And as everyone was cheering, crying, mourning and yelling, the victor fell to his knees continuing to scream out all that he held in for millenia. All the pain, all the joy, all the fear. All of the loneliness, the memories of a boy in a cave meant for a greater destiny.

Only one person felt indifference towards their victory.

And so, drowned out by the roaring cries of victory and loss, the steps of the blue light bearer were not heard, as he moved through the crowds and up the stone hill.

He hurried, ran as he never had before to greet the God.

But no, to him, the boy wasn't a God. To him, the boy was-

"Bam!"

And so, the victor's cry alone stopped as the strategist threw his arms around the kneeling God, hugging him close. Tears were streaming down both of their faces, emotion having overrun both of them. The God starred in surprise, mouth agape and throat burning, as the grip of the light bearer tightened, as if he would disappear any second now.

Through all the noise, Bam heard Khun whisper in relief he never heard from him before.

“You're alive.”

And after years of battle, as Bam hugged his dearest friend close, he was able to remind himself of what he had been fighting for.

The yelling of victory suddenly became a background noise, as the wide eyed God looked at who had been following closely behind his best friend. Suddenly, more arms were slung around him in a crushing group hug,

arms of a hot-headed spear bearer,

arms of a track-suit wearing scout,

arms of a princess never meant to live

and of a princess rebelling against what was once her own dream

and of course the arms of the loyal swordmaster.

He even saw, off to the side, the red haired witch smile.

From the distance, he could see even more of his closest friends were running towards him.

Eyes full of tears, dried blood on all of his companions, he was pretty sure one of them even lost an arm, all of them worn from battle, but they were here. Alive. Just like him. Together. And so, Bam let the tears fall from his eyes as he clung onto his friends and sobbed, being able to ignore the title of “God” even if just for a moment.

And as he sobbed, he wondered, and he thought,

'It's over. Maybe not forever. Maybe there's something worse than Jahad waiting. But for now, It's over.'

------------------------------------------------------------------------

Beyond the shinsu wall that was slowly falling apart, a woman with dull golden eyes slowly stalked towards the dead body of the king. As she looked down on the bleeding body, which was breathing no longer, she remembered eager eyes, glinting with the want for adventure that looked at her with respect, admiration and love. She would feel pity, if she didn't also remember the same eyes belonging to the person she hated most, a cruel murderer who took her dearest from her.

“What do you expect to feel when your revenge has been finished, mortal?”

“I dont know.”

So she stared at him, eyes dull and emotionless as they had been ever since the tower took her two most important people.

Arlene kneeled down, brushing the hair out of the King's face, revealing eyes that will never open again. She wasn't here to mourn, no, she had mourned long enough for the person she lost when Jahad stopped being himself.

“I'll never forgive you, Jahad. Never. Not when you become nothing but a memory to all that met you, not when my inevitable death is near, not when I see you in the afterlife. You took that ability from me when you killed my son.”

Her words didnt dare echo as she stood in the gigantic place, the stone around her wrecked by the long battle fought.

“When our story will be told in the far future, then this is your end. This is your epilogue, Jahad.”

And Headon watched from above, the administrators behind him, as Arlene turned around and left the battleground, knowing her end would meet her soon.

You can only terminate one immortality contract by using another to counter it, afterall.
