Chapter Text
Izuku was panting as he dragged his feet through the knee-deep snow, determined to move forward despite the season being against him. His feet were so numb with cold he could hardly feel them, snow getting inside his shoes and melting despite how tight he had done the laces of his boots. He was sweating with every step, but the droplets froze in his hair before they could fall very far. The only saving grace was the sunlight the day had brought. The sky was clear and bright and there was no additional snowfall. Despite the hours of light during this time of year being considerably short, the Gods had at least smiled down on him in that respect.
“You’re going to be fine, Izuku. This is nothing, it’s just walking. Just walking through some snow. It’s much better than the alternative, don’t you think? At least you CHOSE to do this. That’s what this is all about, isn’t it? Choice. And you chose to go for a nice long walk in the dead of winter. So, you will enjoy this choice, even if it sucks. It sucks considerably less than the alternative, don’t you think?” Izuku would find his sanity in his ramblings, despite how he may sound for doing it. Out in the wilderness, there would be no one to reassure him of the rightness of his decision. There was no one other than himself who would be able to encourage him to keep moving forward, to not tuck tail and run back to the only life he had ever known.
Leaving his home certainly went against all of his natural omegan instincts, there was no doubt about that. He was leaving him dam behind, which was unnatural and virtually unheard of from an unmated omega. He was leaving behind the pack he grew up in, the structure and society for which he had built his entire understanding of the world and of himself. By leaving them, he also left behind the people who were his only source of protection. Correction, the people who SHOULD be his source of protection, despite recent events proving otherwise. And on top of it all, he was leaving his nest, his one true source of home.
He had stuffed as much as he could into the pack he carried on his back, though he had to be disgustingly discerning in what he brought. Food provisions and extra water had been a more pressing concern, but he had done everything he could to at least bring along a few items. The softest blanket from his collection, one he had been gifted at birth that now only smelt vaguely of his dam and the softest traces of the sire he never knew imbedded deep within some of the fibres. The other, the fur of a reindeer caught by one of his closest packmates as a birthday present. With those two items, he wouldn’t fall victim to the delirium caused by an omega being forced away from his nest.
It was slow going, his endless shuffle through the snow. As time passed, so grew his exertion, until he felt like he was enveloped in a cacoon of heat. He was rugged up, but even so, he should have been able to feel the freezing temperatures of the air against his exposed skin. But he couldn’t – for all it was worth, it could have been a heat wave. He began the morning with the feeling of his sweat freezing in his hair and the bite of the frosty air on his cheeks, and ended it feeling as though he had ran a marathon in the middle of summer.
He had no concept of how long he had been walking, but it was long enough that the very short daylight hours were coming to a close. With how little light there was each day, it would take Izuku far longer than he would like to reach another settlement. He would have to make-do with his camping. He knew how to light a fire, and he had a knife. If worse came to worse, he had his teeth as a last resort.
As the sun began to lower in the sky, Izuku picked a sturdy tree to rest against for the night. Though he was sweltering and wanted nothing more than to simply peel his clothes off and lay in the bare snow, he took care to clear as much snow as he could at the base of the tree. When he deemed it sufficiently cleared, he dropped his sack onto the ground and took to pulling loose any twigs and branches he could from the bare trees in his surroundings. Thankfully, due to the sunlight, the wood was dry enough that he should be able to get a fire going with relative ease.
He collected his materials and managed to get a fire going, and only then did he better arrange himself. He dumped the contents of his pack on the ground, laying down the fur on the snow and dirt and placing the softer blanket on top for his later use. He looked through the bread, cheese and dried meat he had brought with him but ultimately found he wasn’t hungry at all.
Izuku muttered in exasperation and packed his food away again, sitting down on the fur and taking off his coat and scarf. It still wasn’t enough, he didn’t find himself cooling off at all, so he also took off his jumper so all he remained in was his pants, boots and undershirt. He leaned back against the tree, closing his eyes and attempting to destress in hopes that a moment of relaxation would help to cool him down.
“it’s just stress. You’re okay. You’re used to all the blizzards lately, and cuddling up in your nest to get warm. You’re not used to doing all this exercise in the dead of winter, and the sun was out for the first time. And now you’re sitting in front of a fire. That’s all this is. So just stop for five minutes and you’ll feel okay.”
But he didn’t feel okay.
Before he knew what he was doing, he was scooping handfuls of snow and stuffing them down the front and back of his undershirt, where they melted almost immediately. His skin was burning up.
“You’re okay.” He tried to convince himself, “It’s a fever from being in the weather. People get fevers all the time. All you need to do is sleep and you’ll be fine.”
He lay down on the fur, using his sack as a makeshift pillow. Despite how hot he was feeling, he still pulled his soft blanket over himself, knowing that leaving himself exposed to the cold would do nothing more than make him more ill. It took everything in his power to shut his mind off so that he could sleep, but he managed to do so.
It was extremely dark when Izuku woke again, his fire barely even smouldering. Snow was starting to steadily fall from the sky, leaving a thin coating of it all over his prone body. He hardly took notice of it though, considering what had awoken him was a sharp cramp in his lower stomach, followed by brief sensation of relief as his pants were soaked.
“Oh,” He quietly let out, as he realised the seriousness of the situation he was in. It was his heat. He wasn’t due for two weeks, but it was upon him in this very moment, and he was astoundingly unprepared. His stomach cramped again, and he felt himself flush as his urges overcame him. He was still lucid, only slightly, and felt embarrassed as he reached down and slipped his hand between his own legs. His cock was only half hard, but his clit was tingling and his thighs were absolutely drenched from the rush of slick which had been let out.
He trembled in pleasure and anticipation as he trailed his fingertips over his own thighs, collecting the thick fluid from the sensitive skin. He brought those same fingertips to his cock, gingerly running them over the taught skin of the underside and rubbing over the head. He couldn’t help the exhale which escaped his mouth as the sensation led to another rush of slick to wet between his legs. There was no point teasing himself, he hoped that if he gave himself as many orgasms as possible early on, his heat might end early and he would be able to get back to normal.
Without any further delay, he sunk two fingers into his dripping pussy, moaning out loud for only the empty air and the Gods to hear. He felt so full and not full at all, as he settled his fingers as deep inside of him as he could. He ground down on his own hand, his palm rubbing against both his dick and clit while the fingers inside of him sought his g spot. Pleasure was running like pinpricks from the top of his head to the tip of his toes, his body buzzing with the rightness of being full. Still, his womb was aching for more, desperate to be filled and knotted on an alpha cock that wasn’t there.
The stretch of his two fingers was quickly not enough, so he stuffed another two in alongside and brought his free hand down to shuck off his pants and rub at his clit and cock. When Izuku pleasured himself, he found the greatest satisfaction in the stimulation of his external pleasure points, and the pseudo-cockwarming of stuffing himself with his own fingers, or a special knotting device. He would spend the whole time imagining that it was a strong alpha knotted inside of him, holding him still and pumping him full of seed while using the sensitive bundle of nerves to keep Izuku cumming over and over again on his fat knot.
The fantasy image alone was enough to push him over the edge multiple times, until he was drooling over the blanket he had stuffed in his mouth and his cock expelling its infertile seed on the furs below him. “Alpha!” Izuku whined into the emptiness of the night, tears prickling at his eyes.
He stuffed his own small fist inside his throbbing pussy, grinding his dick against the furs and making himself cum until his eyes rolled back in his head and he eventually passed out.
He would wake up in the morning in a puddle of his own slick and cum, and would have to face the journey ahead of him, calling for an alpha that was never there.
