Chapter Text

“K-kachan using your quirk l-like that isn’t right! If you continue I won’t ever forgive y-you!” A young 4 year old boy with green messy hair with large tears threatening to fall down his face. This boy was Izuku Midoriya (Though you probably already know that but if ya don’t you do now!) and he was currently standing in front of his so called friend Katsuki Bakugo or Kachan as he calls him, Izuku was currently standing up to his friend who was bullying a poor kid who was thinking of escaping since the attention wasn’t on him anymore. There were also two others with the blond haired boy but they weren’t important to this story. 

The blonde haired boy scoffed and punched his fist into his other hand letting a small explosion go off between his palms “Shut it, useless Deku! Someone like you should know their place! I feel bad for your soulmate, not only do they have a Deku like you as their soulmate but it’s even worse for them when they figure out you’re quirkless!” Bakugou taunted with a smirk as he took a step forward causing Izuku to flinch slightly causing Bakugo’s grin to grow wider “Though let's be honest, they’d probably reject the bond when they figure out how much of a deku you are! Now it’s time to teach you your place!”

One painful beating later, Izuku was laying on the ground battered, bruised and in defeat, he had no tears to cry as he had used them all up earlier. He slowly stood up and headed home telling his mother that he had just fell down while playing but she didn’t believe that but didn’t push her son further as she couldn’t force him to talk unless she wanted to hurt his trust in her so she did her best to comfort her child with hugs, kisses and even made him his favorite food. Izuku smiled at best as he could to his mother as he ate his Katsudon though for some reason he had a small craving for some freshly brewed tea along with some takoyaki it was a weird combination but that probably had to do with his soul mate. After finishing his food he got up and headed to his room deciding to go to bed early. His last thought before he drifted off to sleep that what happened today was his last set back from becoming a hero.

Like Izuku said that was his final set back, he was still bullied of course but he didn’t let it get him down too much, through all that he was able to hide his pain away while keeping his heroic heart. He impressed All Might with his deeds of moving without thinking to save his friend even if he bullied and belittled him for most of his life. That didn’t matter though he was told he could be a hero and Izuku wasn’t going to let those words go to waste.

He was told by All Might that community service was one of the first steps of being a hero by doing what others wouldn’t without recognition. He had to clean the entire beach to perfect his body and he did so, he had to eat a piece of hair to inherit the quirk of his mentor and he had done so. He had to pass the exam to make it into U.A and he had been able to do it even if it was only by the skin of his teeth.

Izuku Midoriya worked himself to the bone, trying to learn how to use something he never had before. He broke bones, worried his mother constantly, put himself willingly in danger if he could save someone which he had done time and time again and will probably continue to do so for the rest of his hero career. Moving on he helped Todoroki by getting him to realize that his quirk was his own. He saved a kid named Kota and gave him the hope of believing in heroes again, He went with some of his friends to rescue Bakugo after they failed to keep him safe and it was successful! Unfortunately that was the day All Might gave his all to defeat All for one and was forced to retire after he had lost his quirk.

After that they moved into dorms, working on getting their provisional license by completing the Hero exam, the only ones who didn’t get their license during the test but they would be able to make up for it.

One night he and Bakugou fought, he lost and that hurt but the bright side both of them came out of the fight better than they went in. Izuku knew he and Bakugou could never have the same relationship again as much as he wanted to be friends with the person he knew since he’s been in diapers he knew it would never work out. He was happy that he had least had an ally and rival in the explosive teen and he figured that’s as much as he was going to get. It was much better than the time he and Bakugou fought All Might. After the fight they were punished of course but to this day he would always see that it was worth it and with that fight it pushed BAkugo to accept his soul mate’s feeling, Kirishima cried ‘Manly’ tears as he called it when Bakugo accepted him as his soul mate.

He then went on to save a girl named Eri with the help of Night eye, Mirio-who kicked his and the rest of his classmates ass’s with the exceptions being Bakugou and Todorki as they sat out- Kirishima, Tsyu, Ururaka, and Fat...Gum, other heroes were there as well! Unfortunately life wasn’t fair and the cost of saving Eri was Mirio losing his quirk and Night Eye losing his life. It had hurt a lot though Izuku felt he could never understand the pain Mirio went through, he even offered ofa but it was declined though they both promised they would continue to smile for each person who was like Eri.

The students who were involved in the raid were given some time to recover before the U.A festival was brought up, Izuku knew this was a chance to get Eri to smile so he worked hard with the rest of his classmates unfortunately he could never catch a break since he went out to gather some supplies and ran into Gentle criminal. It was a tough battle but thankfully he won and was even able to make it back to the festival and he was able to see Eri’s wonderful smile that filled him with an unfathomable amount of joy. 

We are now in the present where Izuku is currently sitting in class listening to Aizawa explaining they would be doing a joint training with class 1-b in a couple of weeks until the speaker came on “Would Izuku Midoriya please come to the principal’s office, Izuku Midoirya to the principal office thank you!”

Izuku froze at hearing the voice from the speaker calling him, it also didn’t help that most of the class was staring at him. Though he knew that voice well, everyone knew it. That voice belonged to none other than Nedzu, principal of U.A. and he sounded too excited for Izuku’s liking.

“Is there a problem Midoriya? If not I believe it would be best to not keep Principal Nedzu waiting” Aizawa drawled out though he had a hit of concern for his problem child, he and the rest of the teachers always were nervous around Nedzu even if some wouldn’t admit it but he was worried what Nedzu would do to his kid. The hero wasn’t blind to see that Izuku was smart, maybe not as smart as Yaoyorozu but the kid knew how to make plans on the fly when it was needed and his analysis skills were nothing to scoff at either. Nedzu must have finally gotten bored and wanted to teach the child. He felt a shiver go up his spin at that thought.

Izuku gulped as he stood up before making his way towards the door feeling two almost unnoticeable pulses go through his body causing him to freeze up once more. He looked back towards his class and noticed some of their worried looks for him. Even Bakugo looked worried in his own way, Izuku gave them a wobbly smile trying to tell them he’ll be fine.

Midoriya walked out of the classroom making sure to close the door behind me quietly as he started to make his way towards the office feeling the pulses getting stronger and stronger while his dread grew and drew as he knew why he was called to the office today though he hoped it would be about the vision he saw with one for all and maybe All Might had told Nedzu but that was just wishful thinking on his part. 

After walking for a couple of minutes Izuku finally made it to the office, he reached forward nervously towards the door handle feeling the pulses scream throughout his entire  body until they finally went quite as he opened the door and saw Taishiro Toyomitsu and Nedzu talking with each other happily for a moment before they both turned towards him. Taishiro was currently in his civilian clothes which consisted of some tan shorts with a hoodie that fit on his body perfectly on the hero’s chubby body. Nedzu was obviously wearing his principal outfit that Izuku always found that it looked great on the chimera.

Nedzu and Taishiro felt their souls flowing towards Izuku wanted to bond with his soul and Izuku could feel the warmth coming near his own soul and he so desperately wanted to accept it, he felt his soul cry out at wanting to be bathed in the warmth but the greened haired boy blocked off the two by withdrawing his soul wave into itself feeling the coldness return once more and he hated it, he hated the cold feeling that always settled whenever he forced his soul to not seek out his soul mates soul.

Nedzu’s smile died some but he kept the appearance that he wasn’t bothered by the rejection unfortunately Taishiro being a rather emotional person he sat up and looked at Izuku in the eyes with hurt which caused Izuku to flinch slightly. 

In this world soulmates are allowed to reject one another making it so their souls don’t bond. It’s rather rare for it to happen but it’s one of the worst things that could happen to someone as it means you are worth nothing to them. Some have even committed suicied because they were rejected by their soulmate. 

“Tai please sit down, we can not blame Midoriya for withholding from completing the bond as we both may have jumped the gun, especially since we are quite older than him” Taishiro sat down slightly embarrassed as he shot Izuku an apologetic look who just nervously smiled happy he was able to avoid that confrontation for now. 

“I am rather curious if he knew we were his soul mates as he didn’t seem very shocked seeing you here. Now Midoriya would you like to sit down?” Nedzu gestured to the third couch which sat near the wall. The principal also poured some tea for Izuku already knowing how he liked his tea. 

Izuku sat down and tried to calm his nerves as best as he could as he reached for the cup of tea, he didn’t understand why the two even wanted to bond with him! He has a quirk that isn’t his, he’s also neither the smartest or the strongest in the class, it was also known that Nedzu was experimented on by humans so Izuku was very surprised when he felt the principal’s soul coming towards his. 

“Now the first thing is, am I allowed to call you Izu? If not I will continue to call you Midoriya” Nedzu asked with a kind smile as he didn’t want to make his soulmate more nervous than he currently was.

“Ah umm y-you can call me I-Izu Principal N-nedzu” Izuku stuttered out with a light blush spreading across his face which caused Nedzu to let out a light chuckle “You can call me by my first name Izu or even make up a nickname for me if you want.” he replied before taking a sip of his own tea noticing that it was empty now so he decided to pour himself another cup.  

Taishiro smiled happily as he could see his soulmate relax even if it’s only slightly “You can also just call me Tai since I know my name is a mouth full, you can even call me Fat Gum!”

Izuku nodded as he couldn’t figure out why the two were genuinely excited to talk with him “O-okay Nedzu and Tai” It felt weird calling them those names but for some reason it also felt right “I-I know you’re curious why I wasn’t surprised that you two were my soul mates” He looked at them in their eyes trying to calm his nerves as he watched both of them nod in agreement.

“Well I first felt the pulses when I walked into U.A, I...I was quite frightened and nervous when I felt the pulses but calmed down slightly as  I remembered my mom telling me that’s how you know your soulmate is close. I was able to deduce that it was none of the students around me as the pulses stayed quiet. It was during the usj when the teachers showed up that the pulse grew louder but I couldn’t really focus much on the reactions as I was still worried about the rest of my classmates and All Might’s secret being exposed. It was during our exam when I figured it was you Nedzu when you popped out of Mr.Aizawa’s capture scarf. I felt the pulses screaming throughout my entire body and you twitching gave me what I needed though you probably already knew didn’t you?” He wasn’t surprised to see Nedzu nod his head as he was able to figure out that Izuku was his soulmate.

Fat Gum smiled as he stared at his soulmate with excitement “Oh how’d you know that it was me? I remember feeling the pulses as well but I didn’t know it was coming from you until we were doing the break in” He said with a hint of embarrassment as he wasn’t able to figure out that Midoriya was his soulmate during the meeting when they were talking about Eri and Overhaul.

“Oh I figured it was you when I saw your eyes scanning the room though the only reason I was able to bypass your radar was because I was very worried about Eri as I allowed her to go back to Overhaul and it… It took a toll on me when I learned that information.” Everyone was quiet as Izuku clinched his hands as he looked down for a moment before looking up and saw the looks of concern on his soulmates face and he quickly waved his hands as he tried to not worry them “Ah it’s fine now because we saved here right!?” 

The two nodded quickly “Yeah we saved her, there may have been some losses but we were able to save a little girl so she doesn’t have to be afraid any longer but...Why? Why were the both of you so readily to accept me as your soulmate? I’m not that smart, I can only use a certain percentage of my quirk unless I want to break my bones, I’m not even a good hero!” Izuku closed his eyes as he could feel the tears slowly forming as he knew that for every good he did a worse outcome came from it, He gained All might’s quirk only to break his bones until there was a chance he wouldn’t be able to use them if he broke them more, he saved Kota by beating muscular but in the process he couldn’t save Katsuki and with that All Might had to retire from being a hero earlier than he wanted. Finally the biggest lost in his opinion is he saved Eri but Night eye died and Mirio lost his quirk, they had beat Overhaul and saved Eri but in turn lost two amazing people who were better at being hero’s than himself, oh he was doing it again, giving into the dark thoughts. He wanted to stop, he didn’t want to think about his mistakes, he hated how much of a failure he was. He could feel himself slipping into the darkness, the coldness and void was all round him. He tried to reach out, All Might, One for all, or even his Mom! Izuku just wanted the darkness to go away, he just wanted everything to stop!

After what felt like hours to him he felt warmth reaching towards him, reaching out and he didn’t hesitate to reach back towards the warmth. He felt the cold darkness disappear from around him and was met with the warming light which he bathed in, there was like a pressure around his body and soul but it wasn’t suffocating like the darkness was but like a blanket protecting him.

He slowly opened his eyes and saw that Nedzu and Fat Gum weren’t in front of him any longer, he looked to the side of him and noticed they were both hugging him though seeing the principal hugging him was the biggest surprise. It may not be common knowledge but even a person  who pays attention would know that Nedzu doesn’t enjoy physical contact very much, especially when it comes to humans unless he trusts them very much. Which many didn’t have.

Izuku gasped as he finally figured out what the warmth was, his soul had accepted the other two. He went to say something but he couldn’t as the other two had gave him a calming smile before Nedzu spoke “I know you may not see yourself in high regards Izuku but you are greater than you will ever know. I am not saying this as your principal but as your soul mate, I’ve seen the choices you have made and been told of the deeds you have done. You along with your class were forced to grow up faster than you all should have but you  have been a great help in their development as well but now allow us to help you see that you’re greater than you believe so” Nedzu told gently while Taishiro’s grin grew wider as he ruffled Midoriya’s hair “He’s right Izu, with the time I’ve spent with you I can already tell you’ll be an amazing hero if you keep up the good work. Though don’t think you’ll be alone especially since you have us now and we’ll be here every step of the way for your hero career as fellow heroes and as your soulmates” 

Izuku couldn’t stop the tears from flowing out of his eyes though they were happy tears which was always a welcome to the young hero in training as he gave his two soulmates a smile “Thank you, both of you. I don’t see what’s so good about me that made you accept me but I’ll try” He finished with his best determined look he could give the two who just hugged Izuku once more. This caused Izuku to feel no regrets about his next words “Principal Nedzu, I’ve had some visions lately involving my quirk” He saw the principal’s reaction and looked over at Taishiro who was confused all together “Tai can stay, since he’s my soulmate he deserves to know what he’s getting into. Tai my quirk was given to me by All Might himself, Its name is One for all and it’s origin stories aren't the best.”

Chapter Text

After explaining one for all to Toyomitsu, who took it very well, which was better than Izuku thought he would. He would then go on to explain the visions, the two didn’t know what they could mean but they agreed that Nedzu and All Might would be working together to try and figure out what was going on. Izuku protested by saying he wanted to be included since it was his quirk but that was shut down when he was reminded of the battle between his class and 1-B. Though he felt better when Nedzu told the green haired teen when everything was said and done he would be allowed to be more involved with the talks. 

Though after everything was said and done, Fat Gum gave Izuku another hug before he had to leave as it was almost his time to go on patrol and if he wanted to make it back to his agency on time he needed to leave now, of course he exchanged phone numbers with Izuku as he had already gotten Nedzu’s earlier before he waved goodbye and left the two in the office alone.

Now the two were alone and Nedzu had just finished his tea while Izuku was awkwardly looking around the office “S-so I should p-probably head back to c-class right?” He stuttered out and Nedzu thought about it before he nodded as he put his cup and tea down. He got up from the couch and went to the door hearing Midoriya following him, the principal stood besides the door and waved his paw to gain Izuku’s attention when the boy placed his hand on the doorknob “I just wanted you to know that I’m your soulmate Izu and that means I am here for you” He beckoned the student to come lower and Izuku was met with another hug, Izuku knew that no matter how many times he would be hugged by Nedzu or Fat Gum, he would never get tired of them “So I don’t mind you coming to me as your principal at times but I would enjoy it a lot more if you came to me as your soul mate. Now get back to class Izu” The principal grinned as he ruffled izuku’s hair once more before watching his soulmate walk out the door with a noticeable pep in his step. 

Nedzu smiled happily as he made his way towards his desk and booted up his computer as he started to look into getting better equipment for security as well as seeing if he could increase the strength of his school's fire power. He wondered if he could convince the hero commissioned to give him that gentle criminal that Izu had found, the young man seems he only wants to help others and Nedzu thinks he would be a good hero. The chimera sighed as he sat back in his chair as he knew he would have to do a lot of work but Izuku’s smile flashing in his mind caused him to grin as he knew it would be worth it. He had found something in his life to truly call his and he would destroy anyone if they tried to take away his Izu “I guess I should get working now, don’t worry Izu I may have failed in the past but that’s changing right now.” The chimera stretched and quickly began to work. He also made a note to visit his soulmate’s home, it would probably be the best to tell Izu’s mother now rather than later.
