Chapter 1: wow

FIRST CHAPTER DONE BABEY
Chapter Text
Samuel looked around the messy apartment and mentally cursed himself for allowing the filth growth. The day he had realised the mess had happened to be the day his soon-to-be roommate was coming to have a look around before moving in.
A dramatic sigh fell from his lips as he begrudgingly dug around in multiple cabinets in search of a trash bag. ripping the black plastic from the roll, Sam shook it wildly to let it open and started in the living room. bottle after bottle, wrapper after wrapper, his head pounded from the silence in the room as well as having bent over awkwardly for the past 10 or so minutes.
straightening his back; cringing as he felt and heard each vertebrae crack. twisting his shoulders forced a relieving groan from him. In the back of his mind all Sam could wonder about was what the man moving in with him was like. He hardly knew the guy, only knowing what his landlord, Mike, had told him. He didn't question that because his landlord was a dick anyway.
Damien was his name, apparently a real tall lanky man, the types you read about in young adult fiction. Sam kept at his cleaning while getting the name settled on his tongue. not a bad name. it slipped wonderfully out his mouth. he was sure if Damien happened to be an asshole he could at least be comfortable talking shit to his friends.
he continued to mindlessly make his way through the space, hopping from room to room, cleaning in categories, all whilst thinking of this mystery man. Despite the only physical trait he knew of Damien was that he was the epitome of a teenage girl's dream boy, he couldn't help but wonder about his face. cute? hot? disastrous? Sam shook his head of the very-much-not-so heterosexual thoughts. he really wasn't going to go deep for a man he's never met.
clearing his mind and focusing on the task at hand was a nightmare. He was almost done at least. A quick glance to the pile of dishes stacked neatly clean next to the sink, waiting to be put away, reminded him of that almost. groaning like a child he stumbled into the kitchen and put them away two at a time to speed shit up.
A harsh and quick knock to the door made him jump and nearly drop a glass (though it fumbled in his hand for a hot minute). he turned grumpily to his front door, pissed from what would have been more mess to clean. Sam shuffled through the small apartment to cuss out whomever was standing behind that door. he couldn't, however, because there stood who he assumed was Damien and oh fuck. Sam just kind of stared at the tall figure and took in the sight. a faint blush brought to his face as he locked eyes with him. they were a beautiful shade somewhere between jade and a bright blue. fuck he was drowning in them.
"...Hey um I'm Damien," holy shit, "are you Samuel? I'm here to look at the place. Really sorry if this is a bad time I- um I can wait here if you need" an awkward apologetic chuckle came from Damien. to be honest, Sam was still in shock from his millionth gay awakening. he soon realised that he was just staring at the poor guy as he waited for an answer
Samuel managed to snap himself out of it and push out a response, "yeah, im Sam, please do come in.” He did his best to show the man a friendly smile, but he wasn't sure that the message got across. Thankfully Damien didn’t question it. Stepping aside to let the pale man pass; taking another full body look at the guy. Damien hesitantly stepped into the apartment before focusing on analysing his new home. Sam closed the door and watched the raven haired man peek through every room from a distance. Every once in a while Sam will hear Damien give a quiet “hmmm” and nod his head a little; Sam hated how cute that was.
“I have to say you really do take care of this place, it's very neat and has such a unique feel to it,” Damien complimented while looking longingly at a family portrait strung to the hallways wall. Sam flushed slightly and internally yelled at himself for it. God he was going to kill Mike. "Needless to say I'm excited to move in with you. I'm sure we'll get along."
Sam's heart sped up at the reminder that the giant towering over him was his new roommate. He gave a gentle smile, trying not to show his true thoughts, but his mind had shut down in the process.
he knew moving into these apartments was gonna get him killed, but not like this. His friends from back in high school tended to tease him for falling in love so fast. He never believed it, probably just some stereotype or rumour, but know? oh god he knew it too well.
"Mhm…" they were left staring at each other, the only noise was the woman down stairs and the road outside. He was sure Damien's neck was going to hurt after looking down for so long, but it wasn't his fault he was way taller than average. "Right, Mike says you're due to move in on Sunday, and seeing how today is Thursday, I'm sure we'll see each other again."
Damien gave him a toothy grin, only making Sam notice his odd canines; they seemed to point a little too sharp. other than that Damien was quite possibly the most attractive man he'd met. damned if that beauty was straight; he'd kick himself in for having such a huge crush on him an hour after meeting.
Waving him goodbye was harder than he thought, watching Damien look back in front of the stairs to return the gesture shot right into Samuels heart. before he could begin blushing hard he shut himself inside his apartment. their apartment. Sam shuffled down the door until he was sitting on the ground, head tucked into his arms and knees. kicking his legs out and giving a few celebratory air-punches all while squealing and giggling like a little girl.
needless to say he was excited for Sunday

Chapter Text
Sunday rolled around faster than Samuel was ready for. And so here he was; walking a light box in hand, watching Damien lift the heavy ones after insisting it wouldn't be fair considering he was moving into his apartment. Sam only scoffed and followed along to his requests. Dropping off the box in the livingroom and returning to get yet another box, he eyed one of the supposed heavy ones. Curiosity got the better of him so he decided to have a go at one of them.
The second he pulled up his back screamed from the sudden pressure and he suddenly realised why Damien had told him “no.”
Damien peeked his head around the corner to see the sight in question, he couldn't decide if chuckling or groaning was better. Striding over and picking up said box with ease, finding amusement in the disbelief strewn on Sam's face. The shorter man stuttered and grumbled about how much he hated the man's strength.
Truthfully, Sam didn't hate his strong arms, but rather enjoyed them a bit too much to the point of what could be considered some R-rated thoughts. If he wasn't so horny all the time he'd actually be impressed by Damiens worth effort, but he was more focused on how his semi gothic clothing seemed to wrap around and map out his arms.
More back and forths occurred that morning and soon enough all the boxes were where they needed to be. The way Damien collapsed on his small couch all puffed out amused Sam. well, until he tipped his head far back to give a tired smile his direction. That was simply the last straw in sams books.
flushing bright he left Damien to his devices so he could go sulk in his room and probably tell all his friends online about his newest dilemma.
His back hit the bed when he fell with a dramatic groan. Bringing his arms up to cover his red face so he could revel in the dark nothingness it brought. Any longer around Damien and he would actually explode
Rolling over so he could kick his calves back and forth; he pulled his phone from his back pocket and opened his once only form of social interaction: Discord. Sam read through the recent messages before spamming the chat with "guess what" and "holy shit." silently squealing as he told his friends his current situation, which had an agreed upon response of "make out w him rn." blushing hard at the thought he gave a friendly “fuck you” to all that joined in on making Sam the butt of the joke. As much as he loved his friends, they were a pain in the ass, but that didn't stop him from wanting to meet with them all in person someday.
A gentle knock on his door sent Sam bolting up, staring at the offending distraction. The door cracked open a tad and Damien popped his head through the gap.
“Hey man, i hope i'm not intruding on anything but i was thinking about ordering something for lunch if you wanted anything,” there was one thing Sam knew for sure about the man in front of him; that he was too nice for his own good. There had hardly been a time talking to Damien in the week he knew him that he hasn't said sorry about some menial inconvenience or task. He repeated the word like he was afraid Sam would be mad at him, and of course that would never happen. For one if he really wanted too Damien could crush him flat with no struggle, and two…. Well he was just head over heels for the guy. Releasing the tension in his shoulders, he gave a soft smile.
“Sure, whatever you want is fine.” Sam swore damiens eyes lit up before closing the door with utmost care as to not make noise.
The butterflies squirming in his stomach refused to give in.
