Dear Reader,
If you want a comprehensive review of DN related items, you've come to the right place!
I will discuss:
-the manga
-the anime
-relights 1& 2
-live-action Japanese movies
-live-action Japanese TV series
-live-action movie
-each version of the musical (and the small portion of the Russian one), not sure if I'll update this with the most recent casts
-the 2015 musical concept album
-perhaps the sequel movie L: Change the World, and the one with L & Light's "successors"
-perhaps the sequel manga as well
As I do, I rushed into this with no idea of what I wanted to have happen. And I put far too much pressure on myself, so thats why I stalled out; too much pressure and analytics, when all I wanted to do was ramble on about things with other people who enjoy analyzing things. Such as analyzing the Death Note media types. So hopefully this new attempt will work better, as there's so much to say and think about. Your comments and critiques are welcome of course :)
I will attempt to arrange this in the an organized fashion. Chronological, A to Z, or something like that. However, I tend to get rambling and go on for some time, y'know, as you do. So sections will no doubt cross over, and my organization will fall apart...but hey thats all the fun of it, right?
The order of all these sections/chapters will be through media type, not publication date. I know this doesn't make sense in a stark analytical sense (after all, the manga and anime came first), but I prefer to analyze the movies/live actions first. Just have lots of thoughts about moving pictures/movies as opposed to...not moving pictures? That doesn't mean I think comics/manhua/manga (etc) are any less interesting.
To make things simpler for me and you, I'm gonna try to analyze the media like a typical movie review. Y'know, 10/10 stars, etc. The sub-sections within the movies will be Acting, Directing (scene jumps, lighting; kinda like the lighting director...etc), Logical Choices within the story, and ofc Logic/Plot according to the Original story. I'm sure I'll mess this up by adding more sub-sections. So hey, that'll be something fun for you to discover ;0
Due to my tendency towards rambling, the above logical order will/may fall apart as we go. So...please don't judge too harshly.
After the movies I'll cover the TV show, and then go to the anime and other stuff. Hopefully. At the end I hope to cover the sequel movies, L: Change the World, and the recent live action movie. Either after these, or somewhere during it, I'll o over the deeper character analysis breakdown/character reactions (one of my favorite parts). This'll include appearance and portrayal across various media types, and may be broken down further into changes and traits only for each format.
Chapters will be titled with the media type first, like the name of the movie, etc. Then there will be the sub-section (plot, regular review, etc) most likely, and possibly other sub-sections. This already sounds far too complicated. The first time I introduce each media type I'll put the usual director, actors, etc.
So, thats what I plan to do hopefully. Feels overwhelming, but also kinda fun (at some point I'm planning to post this to a blog, but thats for...the future). Please feel free to add any thoughts or comments! I live off comments :)
