Chapter Text

[ (Y/N) POV, Age 8-10]

You were a small little thing. You were a little girl with (H/L), (H/C) hair, big (E/C) eyes, and a beaming personality. You were pretty basic compared to others your age, but you did not mind. You had (S/T) skin kind of like your moms. But you had your dads’ pointy ears and small fangs. Your mom and dad were cool looking. And you were so lucky to have both of their cool traits, you felt like 1 in a million!

Your mom was a hero named Madam Magnetite! She had the ability to make lava and cool crystals, anything that related to a volcano basically.

Your dad was The Iron Knight! He could turn into Iron and make his skin super hard. And! could turn his hands to blades like a real Knight! Shining in his own Iron armor~

They were called the Medieval Couple of 201X. You had no clue why that was their power couple name. But it sounded cool and matched them perfectly! Like a queen and her knight in shining armor~…Oh that’s why they are called that…Cool you solved your own Question!

As for you! Your power was… Being able to move small metal objects away and to you. Because you had “magnet hands” and!... that’s about it…. :T Even if your power was not much You felt like were just as equal to your parents powers!

But Anyways!

Today you and your parents went out of town. They were taking you to see where they worked at. You were excited and filled with joy. And when you got there, you could not believe your eyes. You were now walking around what looked like a hand pointing at the sky. It was like a huge castle and it was shiny, and everything just looked amazing! You were holding your parents’ hands as they swung you back and forth with each step. You all smiled and laughed as your parents looked around. Your parents were heroes after all! It was so cool! You looked up to them both because of their heroic actions and amazing strength! You wanted to be a hero just like them one day.

You then found yourself in front of a door that just your dad went to. “I’ll be seeing you later my little princess~” he said to you patting your head and giving a sweet kiss on the cheek to your mother. He waved to you both as h headed inside of the big place. Now leaving just you and your mom. Your mom walked around with you for a while as she waved and said hello to people, who you assumed were also heroes. She told you cool facts about the place and some of the people who worked there. You got to meet so many cool hero's being introduced to them if they approached you and your mother. One of them even gave you a nick name! "Sugar cube" It was so nice and sweet! Just like the lady who gave it to you. She was a big foxy looking lady, mommy said that was one of her co-workers. 

You had made it back to the car and your mom got you in and buckled you up. “So dear what do ya think? cool right?” She said as you both pulled off heading down the road. “It was amazing mommy! I had no idea you guys worked in such a cool castle! Are you the queen? Do you have an army? Is there a dragon protecting it from bad guys!?” She laughed a bit, “No not exactly~ Me and daddy work for a group of leaders, Like Kings and Queens kind of. And we do missions for them. And it is no castle and there is no dragon sweetie! It’s called P.O.I.N.T headquarters.”

“wow! ~” you responded looking back at this “Point place” “So where are we going now mommy?” You asked. “I am heading to a mission, right after I drop you off with your new sitter! He is an old friend of mine! You will love him, and! ~ He’s a cool hero!” Your eyes lit up I get to meet another cool hero like you! I’m so excited mommy!” You cheered “Well sweetie we won’t be there for a while. Why don’t ya take a nap real fast so you are not as cranky later, How about that?” You nodded and got comfy looking out the window watching the world fly by, slowly falling fast asleep.

You had a dream...A dream about mommy and daddy... and a big man who was evil...

He was big and wore all black, his face shaded from all light. He wore ton clothes and a long hooded cape like coat. He was mean looking with big pointy teeth and a Evil grin. His voice was deep and growl sounding. You dreamed he took you away from your parents and hid you from the world. In a deep dark lair under the surface. There were small blue orbs that floated everywhere lighting up the place he took you. It was dark and scary... He told you that you were useless, that your parents didn't need you anymore, so they gave you to...him...You did not believe a single word he said!

He was Wrong!

He had to be wrong!

...He laughed loudly....

You woke up suddenly. Small tears in your eyes.  You were in a small room in a little bed. You looked around rubbing your eyes, clearing away the tears and yawning. “mommy? ~” you said sleepily looking around. The room was really empty, it had white walls and 2 small grey chairs in it. Next to your bed was some computers on wheels and a ton of wires and junk. The room had a few paintings on the walls and one Big black window in the front next to the door. But hey there was a Tv! “hmm~ where is she?” you slowly dropped off of the bed and walked around looking at everything better. As you did this you hear the door open. You quickly turn to see who it was…It wasn’t mommy, that’s for sure.

It was a man who was tall and really tan with dark hair. He was wearing black clothes with a red line on them, and a long white lab coat. He gave you a soft smile “Hey kiddo! Im glad to see your awake now~ I was just coming u to tell ya dinners done.”

You looked at him a bit confused.

“oh right I haven’t introduced myself~” He crouched down to your level holding out his hand

“I’m The cool hero your mommy was telling you about and I guess your new sitter. My names uhh … Laser-blast .heh. But you can call me Laser~”

You smiled and shook his hand. “My names (Y/N)! Its nice to meet you Mr. Laser!” You smiled at him. He stood back up smiling down at you letting your hand go of course.

“I hear you really like [Fav food]! So I went ahead and made some. I hope you have room for the bit I made for us!”

You smiled jumping in joy grabbing his hand and walking with him. “I sure do! I’m super hungry!”

He chuckled lightly walking you to the kitchen area and sat you at a small table, where your plate sat. He sat across from you with his own.

“dig in kid, we have a busy night ahead of us, I have a ton planned for you.” You smiled and started to eat up, he hardly touched his, but whatever.

And that was the Start of that night!

“Dig in kid, we have a busy night ahead of us, I have a ton planned for you.” You smiled and started to eat up, he hardly touched his, but whatever.

You happily ate up as much as you could, you really were hungry. “So, Mr. Laser” You said between bites “What are we gonna do first? ~” You now had finished your plate and wiped your face with a napkin and thanked him for the food. “Your welcome kiddo it’s no problem, you’re my star guess after all. As for our plans~” he looked around a bit.  “Hmm~” he got up rubbing his chin “How about… You come and help me with some of my work?” He said taking your plates and such and sitting them in the sink.

“Work” You thought, looking a bit confused at it. “But he’s a hero, what kinda work does he do? is it like mommy’s and daddy’s work?”  

He smiled at you ruffling your hair a bit, you giggled as he did so. “I see that face and I get it. Hero work from “home” can be a-… Bit weird.” He chuckled lightly.  “But! I Promise its anything but boring its actually pretty cool if I say so myself ~”

You smiled up at him “Okie Doki! I will to my best to help you 100%!” You hopped out of your chair and making a cool pose with your hands on your hips, Like a real hero should. He laughed, “Alrighty kid, that means imma have to give you a title or nick-name… Hmm what should it be?” Your eyes lit up.

“How about~…. My Special little Assistant. How does that sound to ya?”

You gave a big toothy grin, full of excitement. You were an Assistant! How cool is that! It is like a sidekick but cooler! “I love it Mr. Laser sir!” You solute him, standing like a little soldier. He gave you a head pat

“At ease kiddo, now come on, I gotta show you around first so ya don't get lost.” He then held his hand out to you; you gladly accept it. He walked you around showing you his home. Explaining the simple things to you. Like how the house was 2 floors and the more important stuff was upstairs. It did not look anything like yours. It was an open concept home kinda, a lot nicer than yours. But it was laid out weird in a way and there was many empty spots he didn't explain. 

There was what looked like a living room. It had a couch, a coffee table, and a TV. There was also a staircase in there, the one you came down when you woke up. Meaning your room is Upstairs. Across from that was the kitchen with the small table you both ate at. It only had two chairs; he must not have much company over. There was a hallway that separated the two rooms. This was the main hallway and it had a ton of doors, 4 others to be exact. He didn't tell you what was in them nor did you ask. You had no idea about what was inside, but the doors looked basic. You assumed it could be his room a bathroom or maybe his study or something. He keeps walking with you down this hallway.

At the end of this main hallway was a big door with a weird arrow looking thing carved into the door. The Door was taller than the rest and was made of a heavy material like steel. You turn to look at the other end of the hallway, it was the entrance door. So, this one hallway connected all these rooms together. As you looked back the hall got longer so you turn back to look at the door in front of you. 

 You slightly tighten your grip on his hand feeling a bit dizzy at the sight of the hallway growing. Even if it was your eyes playing tricks on you, it made your tummy feel gross. He looked down at you with a light smile. "You alright Kiddo?" He asked raising a brow. You look up at him with a slightly nervous smile. “Its ok My lil Assistant, I got ya, I promise nothing crazy's gonna happen to ya. Not on my watch~” he chuckled. You had never been an assistant before, or a sidekick, or anything of the sort so it was a first!

You were excited but, something felt off. You could not place it, maybe it was just your gut being weird or something. Or because all of this is new to you, it has been a while sense you actually got to get out the house and away from your parents. Usually they would take turns watching you while the other works on missions and such. But maybe they had to do a mission together this time and had to get you a sitter ASAP. Besides if Mommy trusts this guy to watch you he couldn't be bad! He's a Hero to just like your parents! So what's the worst that could happen?! .... Right

Once you got yourself together you looked up to that big door. He had pressed a button on the wall, and it opened the door slowly. You closed your eyes expecting something weird or crazy, but. When you opened them finally, your eyes lit up at what you saw.

"Hope ya don't get motion sick easy or else this wouldn't be that cool of a surprise~" He let your hand go scratching the back of his head. You were amazed! Jumping with you! It was a Super cool looking car, meaning this was his garage. It was slick looking, with a dark paint job, It was kind of blue/purple looking with a greenish underbody. It was WAY cooler than your moms car that's for sure!

“WOW! Mr. Laser is that your car?! Its so cool~” he smiled “I’m glad you like it kiddo because we are going for a quick ride~” He said as he reached in his pocket pulling out his keys, swinging them around his finger. He unlocked the doors and walked around opening the passenger side door for you. “My ‘Lady~” you smiled and hopped in buckling in. He closed your door and got in the driver’s side cranking the car. “Ya ready kiddo?” you nodded in reply. “Alrighty then!” the garage door opened. Showing the outside world. It was night time and for what you could see it looked like you were high up on a hill. 

You were excited, electric, full of all kinds of energy! You were on your first real Hero mission! Kinda- But who cares this is going to be so cool!

You smiled as he drove off watching the world go by, looking back at his house, it was HUGE, and it was a huge mountain top house! It was kind of small compared to a mansion but still! It looked like a normal 2 story house. You looked at him and smiled. He glanced over to you and gave you a soft grin. "Hope you don't mind the drive it takes a bit to get to town from here" you shook your head "not at all sir~" You looked up at the stars, they were brighter here than at your house, how cool.

"Also if your mommy or daddy asks~ you were in bed by 8 ok, ya cant be giving away all our little adventures, Cuz Then this wouldn't be A Secret Mission~ would it?" You gasped, A secret Mission, With a Hero! After  your bed time! This night cant get any better than that! You giggled "I promise Mrs. Laser Sir! I wont tell a soul!" He smiled "Good and if you can prove to be a very helpful Assistant I will get ya donuts as a treat! Deal?"

"DEAL!"

You were so excited now you even get a sweet treat for helping him! How cool Is this guy? You couldn't ask for a better sitter than him. He was nice, cool, funny, and he just seemed to have everything a hero needs to be amazing! You looked at him as he drove staring ahead at the road. He had a small smile on his face almost the whole time. He seemed as happy as you were about this whole thing. You then turn and look back out the window at the stars. "

Thank you great cob! for letting me get such a cool sitter! I promise one day I will be as cool of a hero as he is!"  you say to yourself in your head watching the stars twinkle the whole ride.

I thought to myself as I watched the car move.

“Poor Kid…has no idea what’s really going on.”

“Such a shame~ She seems like a really good kid~"

You watched as the senary changed around you. You started into town after about 30 or so minutes of riding with Laser. You didn’t recognize this part of town; it was like a back way or something.

But you rub your eyes feeling a little sleepy and yawned. You looked at laser who was concentrated on getting to where he was heading. “Mr. Laser how much longer do we have?” You said softly.

He glanced down at you “not much longer I promise kiddo, don’t fall asleep on me just yet, or else ya won’t be able to help me as much!” He said with a slightly joyful tone. You smile stretching in your seat “yes sir!” After a little while longer you finally feel the car come to a stop.

You look at him as he parked the car and turned it off. You were behind some kind of building and it was a pinkish color. It was hard to tell because of it being dark. “Alrighty kid we made it! Come on we got to move swiftly and be quite ok.”

You nodded un-clicking your seat belt and quietly getting out of the car, making sure to close the door as softly as you could. He did the same of course.

“Alrighty kiddo!” he said walking up to you and patting your head “Because we can only get in the front, I’m going to hold you so that way we can move quickly ok. I don’t want ya falling behind or getting hurt. And ah-.. here” He reached in the car and pulled something out. He put what ever it was on your head, it was a bit big, so it slid down a bit. He giggled lightly fixing it back and picking you up in his arms.

“Its my helmet so doesn’t blast me or anything ok! Its to keep ya safe plus just in case anyone is creeping around you can keep your identity top secret!” You smiled at him; the red lenses made everything around you light up a bit so you could see more. You nod to him “okie doki sir!” “Alrighty then let’s get moving~” he said as he “sneakily” snuck to the front of the building and got through the front door. From the bit you saw in his movements the building was pink and had a donut on it. It was a Donut shop! Did that mean you were getting your treat already? As soon as he got inside and closed the door behind himself, he looked around. Making sure that it was just you and him inside. After a bit of looking around he went to the back room cut on the lights and looked around to make sure all his stuff was still in place. He sighed lightly and sat you on the ground.

“Alright the cost is clear, and we are free to relax a bit~” You looked up at him, he looked red because of the helmet. He smiled down at you and slowly took it off you sitting it on a counter. “It’s cool looking, isn’t it?” You close your eyes and open them back up to adjust to the new lighting of the room. “Yeah, it was, it was like night vision without actual night vision! I could see almost everything! Its super cool Mr. Laser!” You then looked around, it was a donut shop on the outside but inside, this room in particular, was actually a really big Lab.

“Im glad ya think so, you are the only other person to ever put it on besides me~” He stated sitting on a rolling stool

“Now down to business lil Assistant, we need to go over the basics of this mission.”

You nodded smiling to him and looked around, fining a small stepping stool, you ran over and grabbed it sitting it down in front of his own seat. You sat down and faced him;

you were focused! This is important! This is your first hero Mission!

“Alright, rule #1, no touching anything unless I say to...” You nodded,

“Rule #2, Don’t go wondering around in here, there’s a ton of stuff that could possibly hurt you and me ok.” You nodded once more.

“Rule #3 is very important…” he looked more serious with this “No matter what happens in here, you are Not to tell Anyone about Anything we do. Because its Our secret mission…Ok?”

You nodded to him with a straight face, or as straight as you could be rather. He sighed “ok kiddo lets get right down to it.” He turned around in his chair to his desk and fiddled around a bit, you sat there watching his every move, observing a true hero at work! He turned back to you glancing down to you, then turned back to what he was doing. This went on for about 10 minutes.

But then he stood up looking down at you. “Alright lil Assistant you ready for your first task?” You hopped up onto your feet standing at attention “More than ready Mr. Laser sir!” He then nodded and picked you up sitting you on the table he was working on.

“Alright as your first task imma need you to do me a big favor and-” he grabbed something from behind him and then holding it out to you “eat this Donut~” Wow thats easy you thought. You looked at the donut taking it from him.

It looked normal for the most part but the glaze on it was a neon green color, glowing a bit. It also had little specs of purple on it to like sprinkles.

You look up at him a bit confused. “Oh yeah I forgot to mention its no normal donut so If it tastes funny I’m sorry in advance, it’s a….A special recipe I have been making here in my lab~” He sat down and had a pen in hand “so after you eat it I'm gonna need you to explain everything about it, How it tastes, how you feel and so on ok?” you looked at the donut feeling iffy about it.

“Mr. laser… May I ask what kind it is. I-I am allergic to some stuff a-” “and you will break out I already know kiddo, you mommy told me everything there is about your health beforehand. That way I had her full permission to take you on this mission with me. And it’s a kind of an apple pie donut heh…My family’s recipe. It has apple in it and some cinnamon and so on” He said to you as he took some notes.

You trusted him, your mom trusted him, and he got her permission to do this mission with you.

It was important! He needed you! You were his Special Lil Assistant!

So, with that you bit into the donut, and it was….

Really really…..

Good!

It was sweet and that glaze was smooth and had a sweet-sour taste! You continued eating it till it was all gone. It was one of the best you had ever had! You looked at him with a smile as you finished the last bite of it. He smiled back then he was back to writing stuff down on a note pad. "So~ how was it kiddo?" He looked at you full of curiosity. "it was Amazing Mr. Laser it was sweet and warm! And it was just the right amount of bitter! And it really did taste like an apple pie...well kinda it was more of a apple tart kind of taste but over all 10/10!" you stated wiping your face of the crumbs.  He grinned writing down everything you said, or at least you think that's what he is doing.

"Mr. laser are you a secret baker when you don't do hero work?" You asked him and he jumped a bit caught off guard. "umm...Yeah I am...in a way~" you nodded "is that why you don't want anyone to know? Because its a secret what you do in your spare time?" he just nodded at it, he looked nervous suddenly.

He looked at you " Do you feel anything?"

You shook your head "No I feel...Umm...I feel-"

...

You were at a loss of words suddenly, you wanted to speak but...couldn't? What the world. Did he add something you were allergic to? are you breaking out!? You look at your hands, no they look normal. Your vision however then longer you looked at your hands it got all swirled up. It looked like slow motion. You hear a muffled sound coming from next to you. You look over to see him talking to you but you didn't know what he was saying to you. He looked all swirly and...started to look purple.

what is going on with you (Y/N)?!

The world started to grow and shrink, swirl and  turn. Colors were all over and lines now blurred out. 

You kept looking at him, why isnt he doing anything? can he tell you are not ok? does he know what's happening to you. You went to say something but nothing came out.

Why cant I get his attention? somethings wrong with me! 

He suddenly started to turn sideways, You were falling off the table! You couldn't stop from falling! all you knew is you were going to hit the ground. The last thing you saw was his face. With that same soft grin, he reached out to catch you.

Did he catch you?

Everything is now black.

You don't remember if you did or not.

…

You felt yourself shift, you tossed and turned. You wanted to get out of the light, it was bothering your eye. You feel around, eyes still closed, and feel the edge of your blanket and pull it up over your head.

… Wait a Blanket? …

You curl back up into a ball fully covered, hiding away from that awful light dragging you out of your so sweet slumber. You slowly drift back into your deep sleep, cob you were so tiered, you needed to sleep more. That dream had you up and down all night.

… What Dream? …

You drift to sleep…How nice~… That was Until, Knock Knock, you heard that annoying sound. You curled up more hoping it would go away.

… go away …

The door creaked open slowly, followed by footsteps. You feel a hand on your shoulder and gently shake you. “Hey kid! Time to wake up, I made breakfast~”

… Cob Just get out! …

You slowly wake up and come from under the blanket. You look up so see Laserblast smiling down at you. You began to smile back but -

… “ Mr. Laser? what did I do wrong?” …

Your eyes widen at the sight of him. That thought circles in your head. Confusion and fear take over you as you quickly sit up pushing him away from you with all your strength. It wasn’t much but it was enough to make him take a step back. He looked at you with worry as you began to franticly look around at your surroundings. You were… No longer at the cursed donut shop, you were in his house. Back in the room from which it all started in. The room with the white walls and the Big Black window in it. You looked down to see you were in bed, all tucked in as if you never moved. Your hands looked fine, you felt fine, and he just looks as confused as you are. He slowly walked up to you, softly grabbing your hand. “h-hey kid, You, ok? Did ya have a rough night?” you looked at him, tears in your eyes.

Maybe it was just a really bad dream, maybe it was all in your head.

You jump up hugging him closely crying in his shoulder, he slowly hugged you patting your back. “there, there~ Its alright kid~” you cried for a while, who knows how long. “Hey~ its alright calm down ok. What’s eating ya up like this? It’s only been one night are ya home sick?” You wiped your face as you tried your best to explain that awful dream you had. He simply sat there and listened to it all, nodding and reassuring you it was all a dream. He cleaned your face up and picked you up.

“hey if it helps, I made waffles, I hope you like those~” You smiled and nodded to him. He once again walked you down to the kitchen where your food was waiting on you. He sat you down and you both ate your waffles. You felt bad for pushing him, for being so scared of him over something that didn’t happen. You looked up at him, he was still eating. “hey Mr. Laser...” He looked at you rising a brow, “I’m sorry I pushed you... I was scared.” He finished his bite and smiled “it’s alright kid, I get it, nightmares are scary, and they can take over sometimes. Even heroes like me get scared of nightmares.” You smiled at this, it made you feel 10 times better.

After you finish eating you helped him clean up the kitchen. You kept glancing at him, you just feel uneasy after it all. It felt so real…

… That’s because it was …

You Hear a voice, that same one that wanted to keep you asleep. You looked around, No one, you looked at laser, he was washing up the dishes, who was saying these awful things in your head. Was it you, “no I would never talk so mean” you say in your head. Your inner monologed sounded normal so who was it?

You shake it off and finish up cleaning laser in the kitchen. Afterwards he let you watch some TV while he was upstairs doing some work for his job or what not. You were watching Action News like you always did! You loved watching it, it was so cool, and the news lady was so awesome! You always watched it with your parents every morning. Speaking of them, “when are they going to come get me and take me home” you thought to yourself. “maybe I should go ask Mr. Laser! He would know!”

You walked around to the staircase hopping up each step, you were back to your joyful self! You got to the top and looked around, it was much different from downstairs. It was simple, a hall with 4 doors, one is your room, the other the bathroom, and one was his study. The last room you didn’t know about but oh well.

You walked to his study, seeing the door was cracked open you were going to open it and ask him about your parents. But you peak inside to see he was on a halo call. He was talking to someone…A woman at that. You quietly listen to what he’s talking about with her, not to be nosey or anything just curious is all. You listen closely, and suddenly recognize who he is talking to. Its Your mom! Maybe she’s on her way to get you! Maybe sh-

“…Did she fight with you to much; I know she’s gullible, but she can be stubborn to.”

“Oh no ma’am! last night went smoothly~ She doesn’t even know the half of it Miss Magnetite~”

He chuckled

You covered your mouth, you couldn't believe your ears. You slid down the wall and sat there. Listening to every word he said.

[Laserblast Past POV]

We had been ridding for a while and she was just watching out the window. “Mr. Laser how much longer do we have?” She said softly. “not much longer I promise kiddo, don’t fall asleep on me just yet, or else ya won’t be able to help me as much!” I say to her. She looked tired, obviously she’s not used to being up this late. She stretched a bit “yes sir!” I glace at her ever now and again she’s about to fall asleep, poor thing.

Finally, I see the shop up ahead and thus we pull up and I park the car looking at her. She’s taking in everything she sees, she’s observant… Good~. "Alrighty kid we made it! Come on we got to move swiftly and be quite ok.” We get out and then it hit me, “What if someone sees her? I know they don’t care if I’m here but a kid?” I think quick, Got it!

“Alrighty kiddo!” I walk up to her and pat her head, “yeah it’s going to be big on her, oh well” She looked up at me, she was fully awake now, wow her mood shifts with her physical being, that’s new. “Because we can only get in the front, I’m going to hold you so that way we can move quickly ok. I don’t want ya falling behind or getting hurt. And ah-.. here” I reach n the car and grab my helmet sitting it on her head, she smiled…

how cute…

“No dang nab it Laser get your head on straight!”

I shake the thought and I fix it on her. I explain the “Plan” to her and “sneakily” got in the donut shop.

I sit her down once inside and check around to make sure all was in place for phase two. “Alright the cost is clear, and we are free to relax a bit~” I say as I take my helmet back sitting it on the counter. She must have like it because she smiled the whole time not to mention she still was smiling like a lil doofus. But despite it all I know my “Mission” and what I have to do. “Yeah, it was, it was like night vision without actual night vision! I could see almost everything! Its super cool Mr. Laser!” I sit in my chair looking at her as she looked around.

“Now down to business lil Assistant, we need to go over the basics of this mission.” I state to her, she grabbed my small stepping stool and sat in front of me. She looked so focused and determined it made my gut twist a bit. I shake that off and explain the “rules” to her. Expressing how important it was to keep this a secret between us.

“ok kiddo lets get right down to it.”  I say as I turn in my chair. I start by making a small list of the “what ifs” and “Affects” or “Pros and cons” of our little mission. I glance back at her, “

"She looks about eh… Average Hight, Average weight, just average for a kid her age.” I note all of that. She is Average, that’s why she’s here, she can’t be average with parents like hers. “How is it she is so average at 8-10? she should have developed more powers than she has, more of a personality, more everything really.” I keep thinking making note of all that I can. I make note of her physical and mental changes.

“ She was drop dead tiered when we got here, and in a matter of seconds she was fully energized like a sugar rush almost. How is that?”

I then get it all together and get up looking down at her, her eyes lighting up as I did. “Alright lil Assistant you ready for your first task?” She hopped up “More than ready Mr. Laser sir!” she was excited. I pick her up sitting her on the table. “Alright as your first task imma need you to do me a big favor and eat this Donut~” I say as I hand her the “donut” obviously its not. But shes a kid, what else am I going to tell her. “

Here eat this omega ring I made with chemicals and fused with a 2 week old donut”

No I’m a scientist not a monster.

She looked it over and of course I had to explain its not normal I mean for cobs sake its glowing in a way. Then she was talking about being “Allergic” to stuff, “Did I write that down actually?”, and I had to make up a whole story about a family recipe, is this kid for real. She finally took a bite! Good! I grab my pen ready to see what happens next, she stuffed it down it must be really good. I note that she said it was good and how she explained it. That makes me feel better to know all my efforts are paying off in a way. At least taste is a 10/10.

"Mr. laser are you a secret baker when you don't do hero work?" She asked and I jumped a bit caught off guard. "umm...Yeah I am...in a way~" She nodded "is that why you don't want anyone to know? Because it’s a secret what you do in your spare time?" I just nodded at her, “I just need the facts. Did it work? Is the formula off? It should be an instant reaction so where is it?”

I looked at her " Do you feel anything?"

She shook her head "No I feel...Umm...I feel-"

She froze up, she just stared at her hands. “Hey kid you alright?” I ask she just looked at me blankly not saying a word. Her eyes weren’t moving around in a regular motion, showing she can’t properly see what’s in front of her. With that said she started to lean off to the side, swaying a bit as she did. Her eyes began to now close as she fell off the table. I turn quickly catching her looking at her, she’s out cold. I sigh “well that wasn’t supposed to happen” I say aloud, I lay her on the counter grabbing my pen and I start making notes of all that occurred.

“how in the world am I supposed to take notes if the subject is out cold… -sigh- so much for any real developments on test 1...” I look at the time, it’s only been an hour of us showing up.

So I take a seat and start working on something else. I kept my eye on the clock writing down every 20 min. of inactivity I would get from her, this went on for about another hour but finally something unexpected happened.

She was mumbling, I couldn’t hear what, but it was making her all panicked looking. Like a nightmare or something and she was stuck in it. “(Y/N)?? ... you up?” I ask walking up, standing over her. She went quiet and rolled over on her side. Must just be dreaming, I was going to return to my work when I suddenly noticed a spot on her. The back of her neck had a small dark spot on it, “Was that there before?”  I lightly moved her hair aside it was small and hardly noticeable unless you looked hard enough. If she wouldn't move her hair you would never see it, but when you did it clashed hard with her natural skin tone. It was about the size of a quarter, and it was a almost pinkish-purple tent. I take notes on it making sure to keep an eye on that later.

I look at the time, Its now close to 1 am, dang its late. I collect myself and gather up our things and clean the place up. After that I softly pick her up, looking down at her. “

She’s so light… She looks so at peace right now~…”  I smile to myself

“I wonder what sparks would say if she say me baby sitting like this~” I giggle lightly cutting the lights off and locking up. I head back to the car, clicking her in her seat and getting in my own. I rub my temples “Dang is Laser… What are you doing? …”

I look at her, “that poor kid has no idea what really going on. Such a shame ... she’s a really good kid.”

[Current Laser POV] 

"Well ma'am it went a little like this~"  I say as I look at the notebook paper se handed me the day she dropped (Y/N) off. It was a cheesy list of rules and a schedule I had to follow or something like that. But it was so lame and none of this stuff actually happened after all. "So what to say what to say~"  ... "She woke up after I made dinner, We hung out talked about hero stuff ya know, and she was in bed by 8 last night! well actually 8:30 she was to excited to sleep... heh~" I say smiling to her. "Oh Laser I am so glad you had fun with her! I know she takes a bit to warm up to people but I'm glad she likes you so much!!" Miss Magnetite smiled at me as she always did, "Cob this woman is so fake" I think to myself. With that I just make small talk with her for a while, this Halo call was taking way to long, "she's supposed to be working right? " 

Finally after what felt like ages she finally had to go "Oh Cob, I have to get back at it! Have Fun Laser! and please don't forget her schedule its very important she has all she needs!~" She smiled and I smiled back "Of course Miss Magnetite~ I have it 100% under control~"

Finally the call was over. "-sigh- thank cob... she is just so...ugh~..." I rub the bridge of my nose in annoyance, as i get ready to get up and head back down stairs.

[(Y/N) Current POV] 

"Oh Cob, I have to get back at it! Have Fun Laser! and please don't forget her schedule its very important she has all she needs!~" She smiled and he replied  "Of course Miss Magnetite~ I have it 100% under control~" 

"Oh man!" you lightly get up hearing the bits of their conversation, you get in front of his door and act like you just got there. You knock on the door "Hello!~ Mr. Laser are you in there??" You say in a sweet tone. You hear footsteps as he opened the door "hey kiddo! what are ya doing up here?" He asked smiling down at you patting your head and ruffling your hair a bit. "I was wanting to ask you if you had heard from mommy or daddy! And if I would be going home any time soon..." He looked at you, you were worried, and you suddenly had a knot in your tummy. "Well Actually I just got done talking to your mommy~ she said that her and daddy are not ready just yet, the mission they are on is hard. So, you will be here one more night maybe two~ I hope that's all right with you Kiddo~" He said softly stepping out his office, closing the door behind him.

"Oh yes sir! I don't mind at all! I am having so much fun with you Mr. Laser!" you say as you grab his hand smiling at him with a big grin. You and he walked together back downstairs where you then sat and watched TV. You talked with him for a while about a ton of things, played board games and cards, you made and ate lunch with him, all casual things that you would do on a normal day. And yes, you did have tons of fun with him.

You were now walking around looking at stuff when you saw a picture of him and a lady in a frame. They were smiling so big and hugging one another. She was tan with big bushy blonde hair with light parts on the sides, she was in silver and purple and looked super strong. “Hey Mr. Laser, who is that lady?” You ask pointing at the photo, he looked over at you and smiled. “That right there is Silver Spark, she’s a good friend of mine. She’s a hero I work with at P.O.I.N.T.” he had a small bit of pink on his cheeks, and you saw it. You lit up “WOW!! Is she your someone special!?” you giggled at him and he turned redder “Y-yeah I guess you could say that~” he laughed a bit walking up to you and picking you up. “Say kid at least you want to talk big game and all why don’t we go out for a while~ take a drive to get out the house?” You smile widely at him “Sure Mr. Laser! Can we get ice-cream while we are out!? Please oh Please!” you beg with big puppy eyes he laughed walking you both out to the Gurage with his keys in hand. “Sure kiddo but just don’t tell your mom I gave you desert before dinner she would have my head. Plus you were such an amazing lil assistant last night so it’s the least I can do ~” He sang setting you in your seat and closing the door for you.

You suddenly feel your tummy drop… Did he just say what you think he did…?

He got in the car and cranked it up, looking at you with his soft smile.

“hey… You ok kiddo?” He asked you seeing you turn pale.

You hear it, that awful voice. You cover your ears avoiding it as much as you could. Your tummy hurt, your chest was heavy, why dd you feel like this?

“(Y/N)?! Hey kid what’s going on?” He said worried reaching out to touch you. Your body reacted on its own, slapping his hand away. He looked at you shocked and confused, you stare back with fear. You were tearing up, his words made you sick, that smile made you sick! It all happened and you don’t know how to feel about it all.

[ Time skip]

[ (Y/N) POV, Age 16-18 ]

You were walking along an old road waiting to see something new. You had been walking this same road for days now, making stops for rest and food as you went. Wanting to find somewhere you could call “home”, not really but you were tired of walking and that’s all you needed. A place to crash, sleep, and to take a dang B A T H. Cob what you would do for a real bath right now. You were hot and just wanted a cool place to rest, and that’s when you seen it.

In the distance it looked like a line of big buildings on both sides of the road you were walking. One side ad a ton of people walking around the other just had a big parking lot. As you got closer you saw the signs to each location. One was tall and had many shop names on it, it was “Lakewood Plaza Turbo”, so it was a small mall or something? It was full of people walking around and chatting it looked colorful and beaming with positivity. However, when you looked at the other sign across the street is stated “Boxmore”. It was a dark red color and it looked like a factory of sorts. It was quiet and there was no one around it, it was rather old looking.

You hear your tummy grumble making you lean to going to that shopping mall place. At least they look like they sold food and stuff. You walked ahead to what looked like “the main Store” Reading the sign, “Gars: Hero supply and Bodega” you shrugged at it and walked in as the doors slid open for you. You glance around it had shelves of stuff and booths, not many people were inside, thank cob. You turn to see a girl propped up on the counter you glanced at you and gave you a cool casual “peace sign” as a welcome. You gave a small wave and walked on in looking for some simple snacks. You turned a corner to almost trip over some kid who was Way to small to be working there.

“Oh! Hello! Welcome to Gars Bodega! Sorry if I scared you~” he said as he smiled up at you with the little mop in hand. “nah nah, its fine I should be the one watching out.~” you say as you get out of his way and reaching for a bag of Laser chips above his head.

“Say! I haven’t seen you in here before, are you a New traveler on the epic quest to rise up your power lever to be an amazing hero!!” he said as he smiled striking a cool pose. You flinch a bit “oh umm…Sure kid you can say that.” You continue to look around he follows behind you.

“My names KO!! I’m 6-11 years old and I’m on that Same quest to be a Great hero!” you nod as you walked ahead trying your best to shake him off your tail. “Whats your name!?” he asked kindly you glance down at him as you walked to the counter with your chips. “(F/N) uh- …just (F/N)” you smile as the girl in front of you rang your chips up. He hopped up on the counter “This is Enid She’s my best friend!” she smiled and gave you a wink “yo~ also its 5 tecnos” You lightly blush, and you reach in your pocket and pull out the tecnos handing them to her as she gave you your bag.

“well nice to meet you guys~ but umm-… can ask you guys something really quick” you say kinda nervous. “Sure, miss whats up?” Enid said to you as she placed KO back on the floor and propping her head in her hands on the counter. KO ran around the counter and looked up at you in curiosity. “Well~ Whats that place across the street? Why is it all empty and spooky lookin?” She rolled her eyes sticking out her tongue and KO hopped up and his eyes lit up “That’s the Evil Bot factory! Ran by The Evil Villain Lord Boxman!!” KO spoke, “Yeah but hes practically harmless all he does is send his bots to do his work for him. Plus, he’s not really that scary~” Enid added on. You nod to them both “thanks its, eh…good to know” Enid nod to you and KO smiled at you with a big grin. You then wave to them both as you head out the shop “Thank you for shopping at GARS!” you hear KO say as you leave.

When you get outside you look around. Pop open you Laser Chips and start snacking. Thinking of your journey so far, it was long and hard but hey now you have chips. It has been a few months since you ran off from you home down in Neo Riot City. Your folks weren’t too happy with you nor the idea of you going rouge as a “Non-Hero” which they assumed makes you a Villain. That wasn’t the case at all. You were no hero nor where you a Villain you were just you. So, you went out to find yourself, no matter where it took you or how long it would take for you to find it, it didn’t matter. This was the freest you have felt in years. That’s a lot coming from a 16 -18-year-old. Not to mention you had changed so much compared to when you were a kid. You were stronger, faster, and your powers were bigger and better…sort of.

But now here you are in Lakewood, what to do next??

You get done with your chips and toss your bag in a near by trash can. “hmm~” you look at the many shops and to your surprise none of them spark any interest in you. You kept looking over at that Boxmore place, it was spooky looking and what if it was empty at the moment? What kind of bots do thy make? And if this “Boxman” guy was a big shot Villain, why have you never heard of him?

That calls for exploration~

You start on over to the red factory you interests are sparked and your excited to what you will find over there. You get to the street that divides the two lots, looking down at the cross way. You get a weird feeling out of the blue, where you really about to go into villain territory? What was holding you back? You look back up at the building in a new awe.

But what was it about the place that seemed to call your name?

You were about to take your first step across the road but suddenly it got windy. The weather seemed to drastically change for no reason as dark clouds filled the sky. “What the cob? Rain? On this fine Monday??” You say to yourself. You roll your eyes and look back at Boxmore, “Another time” you think as you turned back to the bodega, you hated the rain, but over all you hated being wet BY rain. You and Water do not get along. Maybe thy know of a place for you to crash at, and maybe they have umbrellas while you’re at it. You look up to see the clouds still gathering getting darker by the second, but it looked off. They were not all over the sky rather they seemed collected and almost formed in a circle like a tornado without well, the tornado part.

You walk into the bodega to see Enid and KO talking to a taller green Alien guy. They all look at you, KO having a big smiled on his face “Hey Welcome back (F/N)!!!” he said as he waved to you, Enid giving you a small wave as she leaned on the counter, the alien just looked confused. KO smiled at you then looked to the tall guy.

“Oh right! Rad this is (F/N)! she’s new around here! (F/N) This is my friend Rad! He also works with me and Enid!” You look at him and smiled as he looked back at you. He smiled “ Well~ (F/N) Its nice to meet ya!” He said as he gave you two cheesy finger guns and a wink. “oh! Nice to meet you to Rad!” you say with a smile, he seemed a bit shocked at your voice as his face went from cheesy and confident to a light blush and shock.

He looked away “I – um. Imma go finish restocking the selves…Over there” he said as he scurried away to his task. Enid giggled “Well that’s a first for Rad. Never seen him wanna do work before till now.” You giggled to yourself, man these heros are weird in a cool kind of way.

She smiled “So what brings ya back?” She said to you as she kicked her feet up leaning back in her chair. “oh yeah, I came back cuz it looked like it was gonna rain of sumfin outside.” You say, you get a confused look. “Rain, on this fine Monday? No way” Enid said. You then see KO at your side holding up an umbrella “here ya go!” you take It from him and thanked him, ruffling his hair a bit.

Suddenly sirens went off, lights began to flash, and everyone seemed to panic. Rad ran up “An attack!? On this Fine Monday, Man hes so LAME!” He said as he, Enid and KO Ran outside.

You watched from the window as the clouds seemed to light up and a HUGE metal box fell from the sky. It landed breaking the ground under it shaking the ground and the store. The 3 store workers were in a battle stance ready for whatever that box held. The four walls of the box fell rolling smoke out from within it. Your curiosity struck you, you wanted to get a better look of it all. So, you ran outside the store and off to the side, out of the way of course, but still with a great view. You began to hear a high-pitched Evil sounding chuckle.

“GREETINGS LAKEWOOD LOSERS!!! IT IS I SHANNON!! AND IM HERE TO RUIN THIS DISCUSTINGLY FINE MONDAY!! AHAHAHAHAHAA~!”

An Orange robot shot from the box, laughing as her Blade hands swirled around. The sound of her laughter mixed with the sounds of the buzzing blades hurt your ears, not to mention the new sounds of the bodega-men fighting her off. You watched as they went back and forth fighting one another. A finger blast this, a blade here, fire kick there, power fist that. This Shannon fought will all she had, she seemed to be giving it her all and it seemed a bit unfair. 3 on 1 that is not fair to her at all, even if she was attacking them. Even if she was a Villain in a hero’s parking lot, she deserved an equal fight… Right?

The fight was not that long, soon after it started, they sent her flying across the street where she crash landed into that Boxmore place. You looked at them in awe at their fighting skills as they congratulated one another, at that moment you noticed the sky had cleared up after the fight. They all headed back in the shop not taking any notice of you being gone from the store nor of you watching them as they did such.

You think of the fight as you sit on a near by bench. Was that really fair? Who was Shannon? Why did she fight so hard even if she was outnumbered? Did she know she would lose so easy? You thought long and hard about it. It just seemed that Hero’s despite being for the “Good” side, they seemed crooked in their own “Justified” ways.

You look over at a store window looking at yourself. Your (H/L) (H/C) hair was now a dark (New/HC), your soft (S/T) skin was now patched with small splashes of Pinkish Purple, and you were no longer “The Hero’s Daughter” you were once known to be.

You were a whole new person…

"what a wacky Monday" You say o yourself as you began to walk back to the street cross way. 

Chapter Text

You began to head back over to the walkway, or that street cross way that led to the factory across the street from the plaza. You looked back down at it, thinking of this whacky Monday you have had. You think of the fight that you watched that poor bot who was shot across this same street. You turn your head up to look at the factory. It was dark, mysterious, and with its empty parking lot it only made you wonder of what could be over there. Why that poor Shannon fought so hard for a fight that way unfair to her. 

"Welp... Here goes nothing.." you say low to yourself placing one foot on the concrete road ahead of you.

One step forward, now when will the two steps back hit you?

You take each step slowly, staring at the factory as it seemed to grow in size as you got closer. You stopped halfway as the median between the four-lane road seemed to be a warning sign. It felt off that you were at a loss for breath. Why do you feel like this? Why is it you seem...Scared?? Its unlike you to feel this way.

You looked back at the plaza, it seemed to glow in positive vibes and bright lights of hope as the people walked by. None of which paid you any mind as you stood in the street looking back at them. It felt like this single moment could change the tide of the universe! It was such a heavy feeling on you suddenly. But Why? 

You swallowed that feeling down hard, clearing your head of all that crazy talk. And continued on your way across the street. Watching it grow more as that feeling grew in your tummy to your throat all the way up till it hit your head. You began a small panic, rethinking your actions almost tempted to walk back to that plaza and just call it a day.

But you were now one step away from being on the factory’s property when IT spoke.

“Go on~ what are you waiting for?”

The voice spoke to you in your head. This was the first time in a while you have heard it speak up to you directly. You had gotten to a point in which it almost stopped when you left home. You thought stress caused it but perhaps you were wrong. Besides you trust it more than your self sometimes, it did lead you here after all and never seemed wrong. So, you took its advice and took that final step. Here you are.

 Boxmore.

You gulp looking up at the door, its huge, and all around you is silent. Was this a good idea? Maybe not but its to late to head back now. Besides how bad could this guy be? He can’t be all that bad, you never heard of him nor did the guys across the lane worry much about him. So I am sure I got this. You think positive thoughts of encouragement to build yourself up. When suddenly the ground began to shake. Your eyes shoot up in front of you as the big door began too slowly open. Smoke rolling from within making you lose your breath a bit.Evil little giggles and chuckles could be heard as you waved the smoke out of your face.

“Well Well Well~ what do we have here??” A high voice said, “Looks to me like a little goody two shoes dear brother~” A deeper voice added, “Heh! I bet this lost little hero would be a GREAT present for Daddy!!” a female voice said. Wait did she say Daddy?? You looked confused as 3 figures take form in front of you. It was the Shannon bot from the plaza! And two other bots, one red the other green.

“ah-… Wait a sec-“

Before you could finish up you words the 3 bots shot at you and next thing you know you where all tied up by Shannon who somehow turned to a net. You didn’t wanna fight, nor give them a fight so you let it be. You already felt bad for her, so why not give her this and her friends? Brothers? Who knows but the other 2 as well of a victory. So that being said the other two picked you up as you headed into the well known Boxmore.
