Chapter 1: Prologue
Chapter Text
Joey looked at his phone. It was 10 AM. The sky was light blue, the clouds were light and fluffy like cotton candy. It was a sunny day today. He had a special collab that he couldn't tell his fans, until yesterday. A Twitch channel, who was known as Dechart Games, had enlisted his help. Joey did his morning routine. Eating breakfast, working out, and taking care of his pets. Sakura didn't want Joey to leave, but he pushes her away. He left Wolfie, his dog in charge of Moon and Sakura, his cat. He put on some music, grabbed his keys, and locked the door, making sure everything was secure before he left. Joey did a quick check to make sure he had everything he needed, then he drove to the studio.
Joey turned on the radio and sang along to the music while he was driving. Just as the last song played, he arrived at the studio. He got out of the car and locked it. Then he knocked on the door. "Oh, That must be Joey!" The man said. He got up from his chair, and let Joey in. "Hi girlies!" Joey said, smiling. "Good to see you, Joey!" The woman said. The man closed the door. "Well, I'm Bryan, and this is Amelia. Our stream should be starting in 2 hours," Bryan said. "Oh, cool! What are we doing?" Joey asked. "Ever heard of Detroit: Become Human?" Amelia proposed. "Oh, yes! I've been waiting to play it for so long!!!" Joey exclaimed, jumping up and down. "We're lucky Theo isn't in the studio right now," Amelia snickered. "Who's Theo?" Joey asked.
"Theodore is our cat. He's very chill and neat," Bryan replied. "He would not get along with my cat, Sakura. She's a chaotic cat!" Joey laughed. After a quick ice breaker, the stream started. The countdown was put on screen, with some music on. "So, is there anything I need to know about this game before we start playing?" Joey questioned. "Well, you need to keep your eyes out. You never know when something could pop up that will help you," Bryan said. Joey nodded. The countdown ticked to zero. Amelia unmuted the mic. Together, the trip said "click!" And the chat joined in. "Welcome everyone! Today we have a special guest, Joey Graceffa!" Bryan said, smiling. Everyone in chat said Hi to Joey. "Hi, everyone!" Joey waved. "Our sub chats are named Joeyicho and Graceffa_Garden. Nice job, guys," Bryan explained.
Bryan booted up Detroit: Become Human, and gave Joey the controller. "Now, since this is Joey's first time playing, no spoilers in the chat! We will ask for help when needed!" Amelia explained. The chat agreed. Then, the game started. But as the stream went on, something was off. Bryan could tell. Amelia was checking the chat when a message popped up on one of the monitors. "An anomaly has been detected. Please wait..." The message read. "Bryan, what's going on?" Joey asked as he turned to Bryan, gripping the controller. "I don't know, Joseph..." Bryan replied. The chat was confused. "An anomaly? What anomaly?" The chat asked each other. No one knew what was going on. Then, the message disappeared, and another one had taken its place.
"Teleporting Joey Graceffa...." It read. Suddenly, Joey disappeared into thin air, leaving the controller on the chair. Everyone was shocked. "Where's Joey?!" Amelia looked for any sign of Joey. He was nowhere to be found. "That's so weird..." One of the moderators said. "We need to make a search party, now!" Bryan announced.

The system teleported Joey into another universe. Joey felt lightheaded. "Did I pass out?" Joey asked himself. He slowly opened his eyes and got up. There was a king-sized bed, a dresser, and a desk. Joey could look out the window if he wanted to. The room was so familiar to him. As he blinked, someone came into the room. It was himself, but he was different. The man's hair was silver, while Joey's was brown. His green eyes stared into Joey's blue eyes. The man cleared his throat. "Who are you?" The man asked. "I'm.. Joey Graceffa," Joey responded. The man's eyes widened. "That can't be right... I'm Joey Graceffa..." The man replied. "Is this my... I mean, your estate?" Joey asked. "Yeah, how did you know?" The other Joey was confused. "Lucky guess," Joey softly chuckled. The other Joey sighed. "Well, since you're here... I'm hosting a dinner party tonight. 10 guests are coming. You should get ready. I'll have Sarah get you some water," The other Joey said. Joey nodded as the other Joey left the room.
Joey sighed and got dressed up. He brushed his messy brown hair. Sarah came into the bedroom and gave Joey a glass of water. He drank it and felt better. Sarah left with the empty glasses after Joey thanked her. Then, the man came back into the room. "We're gonna need a different name for you. The guests would freak out if they saw two Joeys," The other Joey laughed. Joey smiled. "How about Michael?" Joey asked. The other Joey nodded. "You're Michael, and I'm Joey," Joey said. Michael, who was not from his universe smiled. Arthur walked up to the bedroom. "Mr Graceffa, the guests are here. "Oh, thank you, Arthur," Joey said. Arthur looked at Michael, who was now sitting on the bed. "And.. who's that?" Arthur asked. "That's Michael, my brother. He wanted to see me," Joey said. Arthur walked over to Michael and shook his hand. "Nice to meet you, sir," Michael stated. "Nice to meet you, Michael," Arthur responded. Then, Arthur left the room. "Come on, Michael," Joey winked at him. Michael laughed, and got up.
Arthur let the guests in, one by one.

"Do you have any mints? Any gum? mints?" Matt asked. "Shouldn't you be carrying them, Matt?" Lele remarked. Joey and Michael went downstairs to the mini balcony. "What do you guys think?" Joey said, proudly. Everyone cheered. "Welcome to my new house," Joey said. "This is yours?" Justine asked. "Who's that?" Tim asked. "This is my brother, Michael," Joey announced. Michael waved at the guests. "I have inherited this house from a distant cousin twice removed," Joey said. "My cousins get me nothin'," Glozell remarked. You all look amazing tonight in your 1920s attire," Michael announced, smiling at the group. The guests said thank you to Michael.
Joey smiled at him, then turned back to the guests. "I wanna introduce you all to my wonderful staff that actually came with the house. Arthur, who is head of staff. Sarah, the maid and then there's Marvin, who's the groundskeeper," Joey declared. The guests said hello to Arthur and Sarah. "Dinner is almost ready, but until then, let's get to know each other a little bit more and have some drinks." The guests cheered. Michael and Joey went to the guests to talk to them. "So you're his brother?" Glozell asked. "Yes, I am," Michael replied. "Glozell, you coming? Justine and I are gonna gamble!" Tim said. "I'm coming, Tim. I just wanted to look closer at him," Glozell remarked. Michael felt shivers down his spine. Glozell, Tim, and Justine did some gambling. "Oh, girl, blackjack!" Justine said, enthusiastically. "Hey, Michael, you want to talk with us?" Oli asked, walking towards him. Joey was talking with Lele and Andrea at the entrance hall.
"Sure!" Michael said, smiling. He followed Oli into another room. "So, I've just come back from Africa. I've actually been hunting for the past couple of weeks or so. How about you?" Oli turned to Michael, waiting for an answer. "Well, I've just come back from my service in the Military. I was in there for about 20 years. I could barely see my brother," Michael replied, hoping Oli would buy it. "Oh, really? Is that why he's never mentioned you?" Matt questioned. "Exactly. We had very limited contact with our family members," Michael suggested. "I love the dark mistress look, it's gorgeous," Joey said, in the entrance. "Thank you. Yeah, you know, I'm really into fashion. I really like to make things, I like to fix things. If you have something broken, I can fix it," Andrea said. "Really?" Joey asked. "Yeah."
"Joey, do you own this house?" "I don't have the deed yet." "So you're not rich." "You basically own it." "No, no, no, it's going to happen. Like tonight it's supposed to happen actually." "Oh, really?" "Yeah, and once I sign it, then it's officially mine, but like I've been living here so... It's mine." Shane and Eva are chatting in another room. "Are we allowed to look around?" "I'm down if you're down." In the room to the left, Glozell was making a face. "What you gonna do, Glozell?" Tim mocked. "Hit me, one more time!" she sang. "Hit you with my best shot!" Justine sang. "I'm the jazz singer here, sweetheart." "Sorry..." "I know you sing pretty but I don't do duets." Glozell laughed, then stopped. "So would you wanna live here your whole life then?" "Why not?" "Alone? do you have a girlfriend?" "Um, no. I guess she didn't watch my video." Joey takes a sip of champagne.
Joey walked over to Eva and Justine. "How's darts going? Ready, one, two, three." They hit the darts on the board. "Could we like... look around?" "Look around? No, I think we should just stay down here. Dinner's almost ready, so I think we should just hang out here, yep." Joey goes up to the mini balcony. The guests and Michael head to the entrance hallway. Arthur bangs the mini-gong. "Dinner is served, so head on into the dining room," Joey announced. Everyone went to the dining room. The food was laid out, and the guests sat down. Michael was sitting next to Joey and Justine. "Just two people are gone?" "Where's Eva and Justine?" Michael asked. "I told them not to go upstairs..." Joey said, under his breath.
Meanwhile, Eva and Justine went upstairs, to check out the second floor. They saw Sarah, who was dragging a body to another room. Then, Sarah went to Justine and Eva. Eva was scared. She cleaned up most of the blood, except the smear that was on her left cheek. "The dinner's ready," Sarah said. "Where's the bathroom?" Eva asked. Sarah sighed and showed them the bathroom.
Back in the dining room, Glozell sings for Joey. ♪ Sitting here with the food, having fun with Joey! ♪ "Oh, my," Joey said, shocked by Glozell's singing. "She's trying to serenade you, brother," Michael replied, laughing. Glozell sang some more. ♪ I wish he would give me some of that money! ♪ The guests laugh. "I just got the house, okay, I don't get money," Joey remarked. You can put it on the market," Matt commented. "That Sarah chick is a little scary though, that maid. Does she smile?" "Sarah, she needs to work on her makeup." "We should play some bets to see where we think these two are, first of all." "Yeah, it's been a long time, they can't be in the toilet," Michael remarked. "You can't drop deuces that long," Glozell commented.
"So is this impressive to you? My estate?" Joey asked. "Oh, it's cute," Sierra replied. Glozell looked at Sierra, shocked. "Am I the only poor one here?" "I guess so, you got a bedazzled headband on." "I stole it." Shane and Eva return and sit in their seats. "Where were you guys?" Michael asked. "Where were you?" Joey requested. "We're not changing the subject. Do not change the subject, please. We wanna know where you guys were. "I was in the bathroom." "For that long?" "No way!" "Is this real food, can we eat?" Shane asked. The guests ate the food. "That was so good!" Joey said. Everyone agreed. "Now that's over, we wanna know where you guys were," Michael announced. As much as I love a good make-out, I was literally pooping," Eva stated. "No, we didn't. We made out in the bathroom, Eva," Justine remarked. Eva blushed. Everyone gasped. "I didn't know you were lesbian, Justine," Matt said. "And then I pooped," Eva commented. Arthur went over to Michael and gave him a note. Michael read the note to himself.
"Okay, now you have to open it and read it to us." "Are y'all jealous?" Michael smirked. "What is it?" "What does it say on the front?" "Read it out loud." "It's nothing, guys," Michael said, putting the note in his pants pocket. "Tell us, Michael!" "Guys, stop pestering my brother. He literally just got back today," Joey announced. "Fine..." Glozell rolled her eyes. "How are you doing, Shane?" Eva asked. "Oh, I'm fine. But I do have something to tell you all." Matt raised an eyebrow. Shane started reading a note he had in his jacket. "I have failed in my mission. This house is possessed of an ancient evil that has locked it in time. I came here tonight with the intention of destroying it. I am a member of a secret organization known as the Society Against Evil..."
"We've been battling this wicked force for centuries. There are four artifacts that the evil has hidden behind a series of puzzles and clues. If they can be gathered and a binding ritual performed, the evil will be locked away. However, to complete the final task to retrieve each artifact, the group must vote on two people who must undertake a dark challenge. Tragically one of them will die. But to help you along the way, the Society Against Evil has marked the clues with their symbol. You have until sunrise to recover the artifacts before you are trapped here forever. What lies ahead will not be easy, but I'm afraid you have no other choice if you wanna get back to 2016."
Michael thought to himself. He was sent back in time to 2016 when he remembered filming all of these events. "But Shane was supposed to die here. That's what he filmed. And yet, he lived. Why? Why did he live?" Michael thought. "Guys, I think we should leave. Follow me, I have a car that can take us out of here," Joey announced. "I think I would rather die than get stuck in 1920." "I think I'm at peace with dying if that happens." The guests and Michael followed Joey to the car. "Just a moment, wait for Glozell." "Wait for Glozell, we can't leave Glozell in the 1920s," Tim said. "Please don't leave me in the 1920s," Glozell replied. "These shoes hurt so bad," Lele groaned. Then, the car blew up in an explosion. Joey jumped, and everyone screamed.

Everyone runs inside, and they gather around a table. "I can't believe it! The driver is dead!" Matt yelled. "How is he just dead like that?!" Lele cried. "I say it's Joey and Michael! They set us up! And now they're gonna murder us all! The YouTube Killers!" Glozell sobbed. "The YouTube Killers? My brother and I are not the YouTube Killers!" Joey remarked. "Oh, there you go again! Defending your brother! You don't even love me, do you?!" Glozell screamed. "Everyone! We can't just keep fighting like this!" Eva yelled. "We've got to find the four artifacts, or we can't go home. That's really what it comes down to. And I know every one of us wants to go back to 2016," Justine stated. Eva smiled at Justine.
"Well somebody's gonna die. Maybe we could just decide who gon' die," Glozell proposed. Michael gasped. "No! She wants to kill us!" Joey pointed at Glozell. "I don't know about you guys, but I haven't checked my email in like 48 hours," Shane said. "What do we know?" Sierra asked. "Okay, well we know from Shane that whatever symbol that was on that square is what's gonna lead us to our next clue. So we got to look for more of those symbols throughout the house," Eva stated. Everyone nodded. Tim checks his pockets, looking panicked. "What is it, Tim?" Michael asked. "My wallet was in the car!" Tim panicked.
"Okay, you know what? I think that we should just like start looking now," Eva said.
"So should we just split up?" Justine asked. "I think we should split up," Joey announced. "Splitting up is never a good idea! Has no one seen Scooby Doo?" Sierra questioned. "If we split up, we can cover more ground," Michael proposed. "How much time do we have?" "Until the sun comes up." Sarah walks in with a box. "This arrived in the post earlier today," Sarah announced. She lifted up the box. There was a glass container, with a stand on the bottom which had 4 switches. In the glass container was a hand, with tattoos on it and black nails. Michael inspected the hand.
"What the hell is that?" Matt questioned, looking disgusted. "Maybe these tattoos are clues for something," Justine said as Michael thought to himself. "Look what it says!" "What does it say?" "Her essence can speak to you through the spirit board in the library." "Giving you clues, however it requires great strength to speak from across the grave and can only occur once an hour." "So can we use her to send Michael home and I can have Joey all to myself?" Glozell asked. "How dare you, Glozell?!?" Joey and Michael screamed at the same time. "Okay, may I make a suggestion? Someone should act as the voice and read the invocation," Arthur suggested. Justine read out the note. "We call you now to bless our meetings. Heavens promise our spirits to thrive so now for the living let the dead come alive?" Everyone screamed. The spirit board lights up. It spells out B O O K S. "So, I'm not sure if I was supposed to open the cabinet, but there is a symbol here, on the chest, and it's got a lock with a symbol on it," Andrea said. "So we need a key." "No, we need a code!" "Wait, hold on, hold on, hold on."
The guests start pulling out some books. They notice some of the books have arrows on them. They put them on the table, and Eva turns the dials. Then, the lights start to flicker. "Three five four seven three," The ghostly voice said. Tim opens the chest. Inside are chess pieces. They move the chest to the chess board. "30 men and only two women, but they hold the most power. Dressed in black and white, they could fight for hours. The ladies need to find a perfect pair, a handsome knight on their right with a flair." "I wish we had a dumber ghost. Glzoell rolled her eyes.
"Yet one of these ladies is in deep sorrow. Her white-bearded husband will not have his home tomorrow. Because a vicious bishop...Took his house, a beautiful, medieval castle." The guests follow the instructions. The drawer opens, and Oli reads it out loud." Today's experiment was a success. The machine was able to consume the life force of two college students and produce an ungodly monster. However, the machine's demand for power is endless. I'm using an ancient artifact with an origin I do not wish to know as a source, but it has come with a price. My mind can no longer distinguish between reality and nightmare. I've locked the key to the machine inside the green cabinet in the ballroom, but my scattered mind cannot recall where I left the combination on the first floor. All the thoughts I can hold are the four elements of triangles, I learned as a boy. Fire, water, air, and earth." The guests cover more ground, and try and find them all as quickly as possible.
"This is like my first iPod," Lele remarked. Lele pointed at the gramophone. Joey and Michael looked at a black box. "The flowers look really pretty," Joey said. "We have to put something in there." "What would fit in there?" "A lightbulb?" Andrea suggested. Upstairs, Eva and Justine were in the Study and found a fan. "Is wind one?" Justine asked. "Fire, water, air, and earth," Eva stated. "Well, the fan is on and there's air." "Look, the symbol's on the fan." "It turns out that item that I dismissed at the beginning was actually a heater. Go figure," Matt said, rolling his eyes. "I told you!" Lele remarked. Joey gasped. "This is water!" "We need to pour water into it."
"So wait, what's the number?" Justine asked. "It's probably on the thing." "What thing?" "On the blade. We need to turn it off." "Here, put your finger in there," Sierra said. "No! Are you trying to cut Justine's finger off?!" Eva stated. Sierra shook her head. Justine pulled the plug, and the fan turned off. They found the number, 8, and went downstairs. "Where is this going? We are obviously not doing something right," Joey stated. "We put the water in the wrong hole," Michael said. Michael sticks his arm into the hole. "What are you doing?" Oli asked. "I'm fishing for something," Michael said as he tries to find something. "I got it!" Michael exclaimed as he took out his arm. He finds a piece of paper that says 5 on it. The other guests find their numbers and open the green cabinet. Matt opens the cabinet after he puts the numbers into the lock.
Matt read aloud. "The ungodly machine is in the basement. The cog key will ignite its wicked engine, but understand once the machine has been started it can only be stopped by the loss of an innocent life. Two guests must be selected by the vote of the group to be locked in the machine, then those two must each choose a partner who will aid them in defeating the machine." The guests head to the lounge and sit down. "You know, I think Tim should go in. He's killed people before!" Lele remarked. "I don't kill my friends," Tim remarked. "I think we need to lay off Timothy, all right?" Eva said.
"I have a method for voting. Here is how the final voting will work. Each one of you will write down the name of the person you want to attempt the final task and put it in this hat. I will then draw two names who must face death. Please, discuss this amongst yourselves," Arthur announced. "Okay, come with me," Joey said to Michael, Justine, and Eva. They got up and went with Joey into the hallway. "You know, this is crazy. Like, what dinner party do you go to and you vote two of your friends to go in a basement and fight a bloody machine? That just doesn't happen!" Oli stated. "Look, I kill people for business, not for pleasure," Tim said.
In the hall, Joey looked at his brother, Michael. "I think we should form an alliance," Eva said. "Me too, but who do we kick out?" Justine asked. "Someone who's useless," Michael stated. "Andrea. She's not putting in any effort. Let's kill her off," Justine stated. "If I die, we all die," Eva told. "Michael, what do you think? What should we do?" Joey asked. "We kill off Andrea. Simple as that. I really don't want to be voted in. That goldy machine sounds terrifying." Justine could see the scared look in Michael's eyes. "Don't worry, Michael. We won't vote for you," Eva said. "Thanks, guys," Michael smiled.
"Let's talk about Eva," Matt said in the lounge. "What about her?" Oli asked. "Her and Justine, making out in the bathroom? I don't believe it," Matt declared. "What about Michael? He seems really off. I think we should vote him out," Tim said. "Vote Joey in first. He owns this estate, so we'll kill him, and then Lele, you can die next. Then we can kill Michael," Matt suggested. Joey, Michael, Eva, and Justine go back into the lounge and sit down. "No, you listen to me, Matt!" Lele yelled. "I don't feel safe. Like, I feel like my name could go on there. People are starting to come after me because I invited people here," Joey whispered to Michael. Michael nodded. "I know, I feel the same way," Michael whispered.
One by one, the guests voted for who they wanted to vote in the challenge. Arthur pulled out a piece of paper from the hat. "Joey?" Arthur said, looking right at him. Michael gasped. "You guys voted for me?" Joey said, scared. "Andrea," Arthur declared, looking at her. Andrea sighed. "Joey, you get to pick your partner first. And the partner solves the problem. For you," Arthur said. "I pick Shane. He's smart," Joey stated. Shane smiles. "I promise I'll get you out of here, Joey. Same for your brother," Shane noted. "I'm going to pick... Justine," Andrea indicated. "What? No, I'm an idiot, you don't want me!" Justine commented.
Then, Joey, Shane, Andrea, and Justine went downstairs, into the meaning basement. "Welcome to the ungodly machine!" Arthur exclaimed as the machine and a few loose wires lit up. "Why do you even have this down here?" Justine asked Joey. "I didn't know this was down here!" Joey replied. "Please read the directions," Arthur said. Shane picked up the notebook, and read it aloud. "To free the artifact from the bowels of the machine, it must be forced into malfunction. The two guests selected by vote must be locked in a separate glass chamber. The machine is started by placing the cog key in the center console. The first person to get the machine to malfunction gets the person out of their tube. However, the other chamber will fill with a noxious gas killing the guest whose partner was not quick enough. If after 30 minutes the machine has not malfunctioned, both guests will be killed by the machine and a monster will emerge."
Arthur puts Joey and Andrea into the glass chambers. Then, he starts the timer. Shane and Justine start the challenge. The blueprints have different levers so you have to lift the levers up and down and you have to get them the correct combination. Shane looks at the decoder and starts flipping some levers. "Do I gotta push harder, is something not right?"Justine questioned. Andrea sighed. "Girl, I'm trying," Justine said to Andrea. "Shane has solved the first step," Arthur declared. "I'm doing a pretty good job and I'm feeling pretty confident, right now. How are you feeling, Justine?" Shane said. "A little frustrated, Shane," Justine replied truthfully. Shane looks at the next direction. "Is that a tube of ice water?" Joey asked. "Yeah," Shane responded.
Shane stuck his arm into the tube of ice water. "Oh, it's so cold! My hand is getting numb!" Shane yelled, trying to unscrew the bolt. Then, Shane successfully pulls the bolt out. Joey claps in excitement. "Yes, Shane!!" Joey exclaimed. Shane moves onto the final step. Justine finally gets to the second step, and puts her arm into the tub of ice water, not taking her glove off. "Justine, take your glove off!" Andrea yelled. "I'm getting really fussy! Really, really fussy!" Justine yelled.
Shane opens the control center of the machine. He starts putting wires in. "Oh god, I did it!" Justine said as she pulls the bolt out. "Finally!" Andrea said. As Justine opens the panel and starts poking around, Shane puts the final wire in and stands up. "Justine, I'm sorry. Andrea did not survive. Joey opens his glass chamber, and Andrea's chamber fills up with gas, killing her.
Joey hugs Shane. Justine gasps.
"Shane caused the machine to malfunction, and now it shall produce the artifact," Arthur announced. The machine produces the artifact. Shane takes it, and Joey celebrates in excitement. "You did it, Shane! You saved me!" Joey exclaimed. "Let's go back upstairs..." Justine said, sadness in her voice. As they went back upstairs, Michael's eyes lit up. "Joey! You're alive!" Michael exclaimed, running to hug Joey. They hugged. "Thank Shane!" Joey said. Shane smiled. "Andrea's dead!" Lele yelled. "I seriously tried. Like I honestly did everything. I think I was sabotaged," Justine stated.
"What did you have to do?" Oli asked. "There was like this big contraption so then we had to go down and solve all the puzzles and he solved his super quick! I did the same exact thing, but nothing was working!" Justine said. "But you couldn't even unscrew the bolt, so ha!" Shane teased. Joey and Shane high-fived. "You let my friend die, Justine," Tim told. "Maybe she needed to go, honestly. What is she even doing here?" Justine said, crossing her arms. "You literally killed her!" Matt yelled. "All I'm saying, we were over there trying to open up that lock and I was like oh hey, Fixer. Why don't you fix the problem? And she was like, mm. Didn't even try to help. And that's where I got a little bit upset, so you know what?" Justine spoke.
"So you killed her?" Tim questioned. "And the people get what they deserve. So...Who's the fixer now?!!" Justine exclaimed, feeling proud. "We got an artifact, which is one of four," Shane stated. "Only three more artifacts to find," Joey said. Everyone stood up and went to Shane. Shane put the artifact on the mantlepiece. Oli took the piece of paper, and read it aloud. "You've been warned. One among you in league with the evil of the house. "Someone's working with the evil?" "Guys, who is it?" "It's not me, because I almost died," Joey stated. "It's your house," Lele replied. "So who's the rat?" Matt asked. Everyone looked at each other.

The group sat back down. "How do you even see that from that far?" Lele questioned. "I have good vision," Oli stated. "I've got good vision! So does my brother!" Joey exclaimed. "We can't blame it all on one person. It could genuinely be any of us," Michael said. "We could blame you too!" Matt yelled. "What about these two back here?" Glozell asked. "No no no, it's not me," Arthur explained. "Any of us could be in league with the evil spirit, but it's not me, so I don't know who it is," Eva said. "All I'm saying is Justine took out Andrea, she sabotaged the entire death machine, it's gotta be Justine," Tim stated. "I told her not to pick me 'cause I'm stupid!" Justine remarked. "That doesn't change the fact that you killed her!" Tim screamed.
"Okay, listen, listen, guys. Shane brought back a note that was with the artifact." "What the heck?" "Who is that?" Glozell asked. "With the last artifact, we got this photo of a woman and she has piercing eyes." "Hold on, I have a note that came with it," Shane said. He read the note aloud. "The location of the next artifact can only be found by speaking to the woman in the photograph. The inconvenience is she is no longer with the living. To get answers from across the grave, you must perform a seance, but to ensure the circle does not open a doorway to unwanted spirits, there must be acquired a unique part of her beauty, an article of clothing, or her birthstone."
"If you seek the three, you must study the picture, giving it all your attention, but must tear it to pieces right after you proceed. Once the objects have been found, return them to the golden dish and the seance ritual will be revealed." Eva rips up the photo. The bottom drawer opens up. Justine looks inside. "There's three keys!" Justine said, grabbing the keys. Lele and Matt take one key each from Justine. "May I suggest that we go check upstairs?" Arthur suggested. "I don't wanna go upstairs," Glozell said. "Please, come on, everyone, this way!" Arthur said, signalling everyone to follow him. "Whose house is it?" "It's Joey's house." "Joey, how many floors is this house?" Matt questioned. "Two floors and a basement, I think," Joey answered. Everyone splits up.
In the Guest Room, Michael, Joey, Justine, and Eva look for a scarf. "Okay, we need to look for a scarf," Eva said. They start looking for the scarf. "They have to be somewhere around here! Justine said, looking in the dresser. "I found a tissue box!" Joey spoke, taking the tissue box from under the bed. Michael pulls the scarf from the tissue box. "We got it!" "Let's head downstairs," Joey declared. Michael wraps the red scarf around his neck. Eva, Justine, and Michael follow him downstairs into the lounge.
In The Window Room, Lele, Tim, and Glozell look for the earrings. "She has jewelry all over the place. I think this room needs to be redecorated," Lele stated. "Here they are, here they are!" Tim said, showing some earrings. "They were long earrings, Tim," Glozell replied. Lele starts taking the drawers out, stealing some of the jewellery, and she finds the earrings. "I got them!" Lele told. "Let's head downstairs!" Lele, Tim, and Glozell head downstairs.
In the Spare Room, Matt, Sierra, and Oli look for a lock of hair. "Okay, I have a question. now that we're away from everybody else, who do you guys think is working with the evil spirit?" Matt asked. "I think it's Joey. We're in his house," Oli replied. "See, I still think it's either LeLe or Justine," Matt explained. "I think LeLe's just crazy. It's probably Michael and Joey. The two brothers. They're evil," Sierra said. "How did Michael even get here? Joey never talked about him. I bet he's from another universe," Oli questioned. "Exactly! Maybe if we kill Michael off, we'll be rid of him!" Matt added. "That seems like a good plan," Sierra said. Oli looked at a crease in the wall and opened it. He went inside and found the wig. "Guys, I got it!" Oli said. Matt snipped off a lock of hair and went downstairs.
In the lounge, Oli, Lele, and Michael put the items into the bowl. Another drawer opened up. Joey took out a scroll. He opened the scroll and read it out loud. "You are now ready to speak to the dead. You may construct the seance circle, enclosed with white sand. Each participant sits in front of a candle. One among the group needs to act as the voice of the deceased and sit in the center of the circle." Marvin comes into the room and gives the group some white sand. "Ladies and gentlemen, Marvin's our groundskeeper. Here is some sand," Arthur announced. The group prepares the seance and follows the directions.
"Everyone, get around the circle now. And read the invocation, please," Arthur said. Sarah sat in the middle. Shane took a deep breath, and read the invocation out loud. "Alright, here we go. Caroline Eastwick, you who lived yesterday, hear these words, hear our cry. We seek your guidance in recovering an ancient artifact cross now the great divide and show yourself here." Thunder crashes outside. Everyone gets scared. Caroline's soul enters Sarah. She looks up. "I am here," Caroline said in a ghostly voice. The guests gasp.
"My name is Caroline Eastwick. I'm speaking through the mouth of your friend. I was taken against my will and buried in a coffin bound with an iron chain. My life was taken in order to hide the artifact from the living. To retrieve it, you must find my coffin, exhume it from the earth, and release me. You must also find the key to unlock the chain that seals it. The path that leads to the key starts at a fork beneath the weeping tree. Take the low road. I do not know where the coffin has been buried. I remember being carried past the red stone. Near the back, near the back of the house! Hurry, release me from this hell!"
Caroline exits Sarah's body, and the seance ends. Arthur hands everyone flashlights. They split off into two groups outside. One will go find the key to open the coffin, and the other group goes to find the coffin. After the first group finds the key, they go over to the group who is digging up a coffin."♪ We gotta dig, dig, dig deeper ♪ Glozell sang. "I just don't like this at all," Justine said. Michael sighed. "Suck it up iJustine, it's gonna be alright," Glozell said. "What is your problem, Glozell? Ever since you got here, you've been sucking up to Joey, accusing Joey and Michael of being The YouTube Killers, and now you're attacking my love?! What's wrong with you?!" Eva yelled. Justine blushed. "Justine knows what's in this coffin," Matt said. "Yeah cause iJustine knows what's going on," Glozell added.
Then, the coffin was on the surface. Matt opened the coffin. As they looked inside, the coffin was empty. Michael took a note inside the coffin and read it aloud. "I can feel your presence near, my spirit will soon be free. There is only one more task ahead of you. The hiding ritual used to conceal the artifact required an unwilling soul to be buried alive and it was mine. Now another unwilling soul must be buried to reverse the spell. Only then will the artifact rise from its earthen tomb. I know it is a horrible thing to require, but if I had told you in the beginning, you would never have come this far."
"The group must vote, but only one name will be drawn this time. That person must be taken away against their will and buried alive in this coffin. Please do not falter now," Arthur announced. "We've gotta kill somebody." "Oh my goodness." "We need to bury one of our friends alive." "It's not a big deal for me, I'm the mobster. I get rid of bodies all the time, but usually, they're dead." "Can we kill Tim? He's killed people and I don't trust him," Justine whispered. "Don't worry Justine, stay calm, okay?" Michael whispered. Joey hugged Justine.
"Each of you come up here and writes the name of the person that you think should go in the coffin. The more votes for a single person go in there, the better chance of me drawing the name, but it's still up to draw," Arthur said.
"I am so sorry that you guys got invited and now you're in this mess, but please... Do not put me in this coffin," Joey stated. "Who do we think's been working with the spirit because someone's been orchestrating this entire thing," Matt commented. "Justine!" "I will not, I won't go!" "Look at how scared she is!" Michael yelled. "I think it's time for her to go," Glozell remarked. "Please do not, whatever you do, do not put me in that box!" Justine cried.
"Please don't vote for me, I can't go in that box," Justine said. "I'm not gonna vote for you, Michael replied. "It's not gonna happen!" Eva responded. "You're not gonna go in there!" Joey told. "We are talking about putting someone in a coffin though," Matt said. "Someone has to go, do you want to go?" "No, it needs to be her." "It's either her or all of us." "I say, Tim." "I say Tim as well because he has been out to get me this entire time." "Are we unanimous?" "Yes, I better trust you guys." Then, everyone voted. Arthur pulls out the first piece of paper. "Tim." Justine's eyes lit up as she hugged Michael, then Joey. After that, she kissed Eva on the cheek. Eva smiled.
"Get him!" Oli yelled as Tim ran. Matt and Arthur grabbed Tim and started dragging him. "Guys, stop it!! I thought we were killing Justine!!!" Tim screamed. Arthur put Tim in the coffin. Justine cried. Oli, Matt, and Shane started burying the coffin. "Joey, you're not gonna help us out?" Oli asked. Tim kept screaming, but nobody could hear him. Matt handed Joey and Michael shovels, and they continued. "This is sickening.." Joey said. Michael sighed. "Wait, wait, wait, guys, do you hear that? I think he stopped," Eva said. A lightning bolt hit the ground, and a mysterious chest had come up to the surface.
Michael walked over to the chest and opened it. Inside was the artifact, and a small box. Eva took the box. Michael took the artifact, and everyone walked inside. "I've had enough of this," Shane said. "I don't want to do this anymore, it's breaking my spirit," Justine said. Joey hugged Justine. Michael put up the artifact on the mantlepiece. "What do we do now?" Oli asked. "Whatever this box has for us," Eva replied, holding up the box.

"Guys, we've just killed Tim. We buried him alive," Shane stated. "We buried Tim, but you were acting like you didn't care. Sure, you and Michael helped us bury him, but I don't believe that you ever wanted to help us in the first place! Justine literally hugged you, and now you're not sad?! Do you have emotions, Joey?!" Glozell yelled. "Do I have emotions?! Of course I have emotions! I am not a robot!!!" Joey yelled. "I don't believe that. I don't believe it at all," Glozell said. "What is wrong with you?!" Shane questioned. "Glozell, what the hell?! Ever since you got here, you've been accusing Joey and Michael!!" Eva screamed. "We can argue about this as much as possible and accuse everyone but-"
"No, I'm just accusing Joey and Michael." Glozell cut off Justine. "Why are you accusing us?" Joey and Michael said. "No words from you two, I don't want to hear anything from you." "She's being so-" "Dat dat dat da!" "Can we just figure out the box?" Matt asked. "Okay, let's figure out the box," Shane replied. "We have killed so many people already," Sierra said. "Technically we've only killed one," Eva stated. "My only question is what is going on in here?" "I have no idea." "It's just a piece of wood. Literally nothing in it." Justine grabs the block, and smashes it on the table. Inside the cube was a paper that said idle.
Matt looks at the clock. "Letters become numbers and numbers, that's weird," Sierra said. "The time is stopped because it's idle," Michael said. "Michael, you are a genius," Justine replied. "Or he could be the demon," Glozell remarked. "I am not a demon," Michael answered. The clock itself actually had four hands. They set the time, and a keyhole is revealed by some of the books falling down. "We need a key now?" Matt questioned. "So where is this key?" "What's on the ground?" Sierra asked. "Did something fall?"
"We should go out there and look." "Yeah let's go look right now and see if there is anything different." "Hey wait wait wait, Sierra," Matt said. "What?" Sierra asked. "Look, look right there. There's a car right there. Maybe we should check it out," Matt explained. "I don't think we should separate. It's never a good idea to separate, I'm just saying." "I mean, let's let them look for the key and then we just go check it out real quick." Matt grabs Sierra, and they go outside to the car. Joey looks at the stairway, and finds the key. He goes to the bookcase, puts in the key, and turns it.
Justine hugs Eva as the group goes into the room. "I'm scared, I don't want to do this," Justine said, holding Eva. As they went inside, they saw a bunch of mannequins, and food laid out for them. "Sketchy mannequins. Sketchy mannequins everywhere," Oli said. "What happened to Matt?" Shane asked. "What?" Joey replied. "Matt is with that other chick, Sierra." "First it was Eva and Justine wondering off and now Sierra and Matt. What are they doing?" Joey stated. Meanwhile, Matt and Sierra check out the car. They look in the car and find a mannequin in the trunk. Then they head back to the group. "Oh, there you guys are. Why'd you run off like that?" Joey asked. "We have another clue!" Eva said. She read the clue aloud.
"My dear employer, how grateful I am for your generosity in seeking out my work. This place is almost complete and I will be calling it dinner for five. I'm sure with some careful examination, you will see how to finalize the details. The need inside me requires that I feed it regularly." "Do we have to feed the mannequins?" Justine asked, looking disgusted. "Ew, what is that! Is that a thumb?" Shane said, looking disgusted. "Yeah, I'm never gonna eat cherry pie again. "Is it a mannequin thumb or a human thumb?" "Matt asked as he put down the mannequin. It's a mannequin's thumb," Oli replied. "I thought my wife was a saint and then Calvin showed me the hole in her soul before I pried a lung from her chest." Inside the mom's chest, there is a hole and a note.
"This Calvin guy is demented and sick. I hope I never meet him," Michael stated. "Mothers should know what's in a child's head. Then he cut one open to show me. I can never look at my children again." So the note says, "all my life I wanted to go to a dance. Nothing fancy, I just wanted a boy to ask me. Then Calvin came along. Only it turns out dancing isn't what he had in mind at all." Okay, Calvin is some sort of psychopath who set this whole room up. That's who Calvin is," Shane said. Everyone at the dinner table is in the wrong position. So the group start to move them into the right position. Eva looks at the picture, then back at the mannequins.
"Do we have the picture correct?" Shane asked. "It's right," Sierra said. "Is it in the correct order?" Matt asked. "Another clue, guys," Eva said.
"My employer, I have hidden the artifact given to me as you requested in my new art installation on the second floor. I'm afraid it can only be experienced with two guests selected by a vote. They should be prepared to play... Perverse games." "Every time we vote, something bad happens!" Glozell exclaimed. "Ladies and gentlemen, we've decided to put it to a vote to see who will go upstairs and play a perverse game," Arthur said. The guests went back into the lounge.
"I'm thinking of like, the most perverted person I can think of and I'm like, Lele," Matt said. "I don't mind perverse games. I don't mind them. Are these games gonna be fun?" Lele replied."I hope that you're still not thinking-" Joey got cut off by Glozell. "It's your house. You have to know what your servants-" "Remember what I said? Because I've already told you I don't own this house," Joey said. Michael whispered to Justine. "Glozell keeps coming at Joey with this accusation that he has something to do with everything that's going on and I'm honestly getting sick and tired of it," He said. "I know, I feel the same way," Justine whispered.
"Just to squash this right now, do you all blame me for everything that's going on?" Joey asked. "Yes," Matt, Sierra, Glozell and Lele said at the same time. "You four? You that think that I am at fault for all this?" Joey replied. "Yes, you are! We wouldn't have come here if it wasn't for you!" Matt yelled. "Then you could have just ignored the invitation, and not come!" Michael remarked. "Don't try to cover for him!" Glozell sounded. The group came up, one by one, and voted. Arthur pulled out two pieces of paper. "Joey... and Michael," Arthur announced. "What?" Oli said, confused. "Who voted for both of them?" Eva asked. "Joey and Michael, if I can have you both come with me," Arthur said. Glozell shot a glare at them as they went upstairs. "Who voted for Joey?" Oli asked. "I voted for Joey," Glozell said.
Upstairs, in the Master Bedroom, Joey and Michael went into the room. Arthur went to another room. "This room is so creepy," Joey said. "Wait, there's a clue right here." Michael and Joey read out the note. "Start the part with a spin of the bottle, and swap spit with your plastic friends. Kiss them enough and you will get a number from under the door." As Joey sets up the bottle, Michael feels nervous. "Michael? Is something wrong?" Joey asked, looking at him. "Now that we're alone... I want to tell you something. Joey to Joey," Michael replied. Joey sat on the chair. "Okay, what's up?" Joey requested.
"You know how you found me in your bedroom?" Michael asked. Joey nodded. "I wanted to tell you that... I'm from another universe." Michael took off his hat, and put it on the desk, revealing his messy brown hair. "Another universe? What do you mean by that?" Joey asked, confused. "I'm you. All of this happened to me, but things are different as to how I encountered them." Joey looked at Michael, intrigued. From another room, Calvin was hiding carefully, listening in on their conversation. "So there's two Joeys... Interesting..." Calvin breathed. Michael continued.
"I made a show. I called it, Escape The Night. It's like what we're doing now. Finding clues, going into challenges, and by the end of it, there are only 2 or 3 people left. I pitched this idea to my good friend, Adam Lawson. You don't know him, but he brought my show to life. And so did the YouTubers I brought in as guests," Michael said. "How many episodes does Escape The Night have?" Joey asked. "10 episodes, 4 seasons." Joey's eyes lit up with sparkles. His eyes were filled with wonder and excitement. "That's incredible!" Joey replied. "In my universe, it's May 5th, 2021. I plan to film season 5 next year," Michael said. From the other room, Calvin tried to get up and hit a table with his head. It prompted some books to hit the desk and open the drawer in the Master Bedroom. Joey got scared and stood up. He put Michael's hat on one of the mannequins.
"What is this?" Joey asked, putting the journal on the table. Micheal looked at the journal and opened it. "This is a murder journal. The person's name you write on the next page will die in a horrible death." "What?" Joey said. "We can write someone's name down, and it'll kill them," Michael replied. "Oh my god... Were you in this challenge in your universe?" Joey asked. Michael nodded. "So we know that Eva, Justine, and Shane are on our side. Tim is dead, so that leaves us with Lele, Glozell, Matt, and Sierra. Who are we going to kill," Michael proposed. "Glozell. She wants us dead. We know this. So, let's write her name down," Joey said. Michael gave Joey the Pen. He wrote down, "Glozell Green" on the empty line.
In The Lounge, the group was discussing about Joey, the estate, and what they plan to do next. Glozell feels something rise in her throat. Justine hugged Eva. Glozell starts coughing up blood and violently starts shaking onto the floor. "She's twerk dying!" Matt yelled. In The Master Bedroom, Joey opened the compartment and took the artifact. Joey and Michael went into the hallway, and followed Arthur downstairs into the lounge. Calvin goes into The Master Bedroom and looks in the journal.
"You guys, Glozell's died," Shane said. "You guys have the artifact." "We got the artifact." "Wait, what happened upstairs with the perverse games, what did you guys do?" "There were mannequins. We had to do things that I don't-" "Yeah, it was perverted, so." "Okay look, they got another artifact so someone else had to die." "It's my party and I can kill whoever I want to," Joey whispered to Michael. Michael chuckled softly. "You went upstairs and your name was called because Glozell put you up there, so Glozell died," Matt explained. "She put my name in there?" Joey asked. "Yes, that is very true," Eva said.
"Listen I, to be honest with you, I don't want to hear anything that you have to say because every single time that you two go to play a game or go in the hat, you don't die. This implicates so much of what I've already been trying to explain to everybody else. Both of you have everything to do with all the deaths that are going on in this house. You're both working with the evil spirit," Matt explained. "Look, Matt. There was a journal, a death journal upstairs and whatever name we put in the journal died. Glozell has been calling Joey and I The YouTube Killers, and I don't appreciate the disrespect! So if you would just shut up, and work with us, we can get out of here! Got it?" Michael remarked.
"So you went up there with Joey and got her killed." "Actually, it was either you or her. And he saved you. He saved you so shut up and sit down!" Joey said. "Let's just take the artifact, let's bring it over there, and let's get the hell out of here," Shane said. Joey put the artifact on the mantlepiece. "Only one artifact left," Michael said. Then, a loud roar sounded from outside the house. "What was that?!" Everyone yelled. "It sounded like an animal!" Eva exclaimed. "The evil of this house knows someone is trying to imprison it. It's unleashed its guardian to make sure that doesn't happen," Arthur announced. "What guardian?" Justine questioned.

"What the hell was that noise?" Joey questioned. "Guys, something's coming for us," Shane said. "Something or someone?" Matt suggested. "That was definitely something." "Yeah, that was something." "A someone does not sound like that," Oli remarked. "I don't think an animal is doing all this to us." "Guys, don't forget, Glozell is dead," Michael said. "I think that's a little sketchy," Matt stated. "Why is that sketchy?" Joey asked. "You've already killed Glozell, and Eva and Justine are on your side," Lele replied. "What about you, Oli?" Sierra asked. "Me? I-I'm on Joey's side!" Oli stated. "Oli, Justine, Shane, Joey, and Michael. We need to stick together," Eva said. Eva, Justine, Shane, Joey, Oli, and Michael sat on the left couch, while Lele, Matt, and Sierra sat on the other side.
"We can surmise all we want, but we need to figure out what we're going to do. If we are going to get out of this, we need to stick together. And by blaming people and pointing fingers, it's just going to make things worse," Justine said. "We have three artifacts, guys. We are one more away from getting back to 2016," Michael told. "Joey and Michael, when you two were upstairs, was there anything else that you had?" Eva asked. "Yeah. A 50 cents circus carnival, admit one," Joey replied. Joey pulled out a admit one ticket to a circus. "Wait, wait, round and around the room we go. What if there's like a carnival ride?" "Like a merry-go-round?" Sierra asked.
"What goes round and round in this room?" "There is a record player. That goes round and round." "Is there a record on it?" Oli goes over to the lamp, and lifts it up. Underneath, there is a note that says: The carnival is coming to town. Follow your nose to the show. Everyone starts smelling. "It smells like oranges," Michael said. Joey smells Sierra. "It's not me, Joey!" Sierra said. "Oh, sorry!" Joey replied, awkward. Justine smells Eva. "I don't smell like oranges, Justine..." Eva said. "I know, but your perfume smells lovely," Justine replied, smiling. Eva blushed.
Everyone starts smelling and searching around. Michael goes up a ladder and finds a box. "Guys, this smells really like oranges right now. I don't know if that has anything to do with it?" Michael asked, pointing. "Does it have a symbol?" Oli pulled out a box, and put it on the floor of the lounge. "So it's a box for tickets?" Sierra looked at the box. Joey dropped the ticket in, and the box in. Inside the box are two clown masks. "Now you see me, now you don't. Time is not forever, time runs out. Your share is only one sixth of an hour, not a moment longer."
"It appears that you've also left this," Arthur said, giving a letter to Joey. Eva looks at the lid. She read aloud. "The Guardian is awake. There is a melody that will summon the ring leader. His whip and wit has the power to subdue the monster. The first key to unlocking the horse waits in the river that flows to the sky on the back of the estate. The two wearing the clown masks will be invisible to the Guardian and should search for clues. The rest of you must hide from the Guardian past the grass line on the back of the estate. Every five minutes, a gong will sound and one of the masked guests must run to the exchange circle and place the mask on another guest.
The Guardian patrols the grass-covered area. If everyone is captured, the guardian wins and the artifacts will be recovered by that house and you will be back to the beginning. Please decide among you who will wear the masks first.
"Should we have our fastest people without the masks then?" "You guys are wearing heels." We're fast." "Well, I was just looking out for your safety and your ankles." "Are you like, what do you have against girls? "Honestly, I would be perfectly fine leaving him in 1920, because..." Lele said. "Marvin says that the Guardian is on his way to the house as we speak," Arthur said.
The Guardian goes up against the glass and starts pounding against it. "Oh, my God, he's coming." "Oh, my God we need a plan, we need a plan," Oli said. Everyone screamed. They ran out to the yard, where most of the guests stood behind the line.
Eva and Sierra put the masks on and they are completely invisible to the Guardian. They find a key. When the gong sounds, Eva and Sierra switch with Oli and Matt. Oli and Matt take the key and the masks, and head into the pool house. After they figure out the code and open the chest, they switch with Joey and Michael. "We need to play the music because that's what stops the guardian," Joey said. Michael agreed. They ran over to the music box, grabbed it, and played it outside while standing on the platform.
The ring leader and his assistant appear, laughing. "Oh, my God, who is that?" "What is going on?" "I have no idea." "Come on, there's no need to hide in the wood! Everybody's welcome at the show!" The RingMaster announced. Everyone started coming towards the RingMaster. The RingMaster commands the Guardian to come towards him. "You, come here and kneel before me, you ungrateful runaway. I made you into something people would travel miles to see and you threw it all away. There will be punishment," The RingMaster said.
"I think a celebration is in order!" "Yes, celebrate!" "For the return of our beloved, Sam! Think thou, my esteemed guests. I ask you to join me in the evening of the thrilling bizarre, of the carnival. And the cast," He laughs. The RingMaster takes the guests into a circus in the backyard. Joey gives the ticket to the TicketMaster. They head inside. "Is that the artifact?" "Oh my gosh. It's the artifact, look." "We need that, that's the last artifact." "This is my greatest achievement. It took me half a life to get. But I will make you a deal. Find me two willing participants for tonight's show, and I will loan you the artifact. I must warn you, this show sometimes can be quite precarious," The RingMaster announced.
So, the guests voted for who they think will go in. Arthur pulled out two pieces of paper. "Justine and Shane," Arthur declared. "What?!" Eva yelled, furious. "Justine is the rat! Kill her!" Matt yelled. Lele punched his shoulder. "What?" Mat questioned. "Stop that, Matt," Lele said. "Oh, so you want me to stop?! How about you-" They start bickering. "Guys! We're not going to get anywhere if we keep bickering!" Michael shouted. Everyone was silent. The RingMaster clears his throat.
"So I have my two participants for tonight's show. The rest of you can enjoy the show with our crowd. And I promise you they won't bite you, that much. But, you cannot perform in these clothes, they'll get ruined." The Ring Master announces to Justine and Shane to go change, and compete in three different activities. Justine and Shane change, and then come out. "Ladies and gentlemen, your acts for tonight, give them a round of applause!" The RingMaster said. The crowd starts booing, but the guests start cheering.
"Now lady and gentleman, you will be performing three acts for tonight's show. The first one is a strong man feat, the second, a juggling act, and the third, the tightwire walk of death." Justine and Shane start the first act. Justine swings the mallet. The crowd boos. Justine tries again and hits the bell. Shane hits the bell on his first try. "It is now time to test your dexterity, coordination, and concentration with a little bit of juggling!" The RingMaster announced. The final act was the tightrope of death. Justine makes it across with ease. Shane falls. Justine and Shane get put into the water drop chambers. The RingMaster says it's full of flesh-eating fish.
"Performer number one." Everyone cheers. "Number two, Shane!" They cheer. "Both shall go down!" Shane and Justine fall into the tanks. The RingMaster laughs. "I forgot to put the flesh-eating fish in the tank today. You did bring me my greatest endeavor. It is a fair trade." He lets Justine and Shane go. Vita gives them the artifact, and the group head back to the lounge. "We have all four artifacts!" Joey said. "I'm so excited, we finally get to go home." Shane said. "What do we do now?" Matt asked.
Chapter 7: Chapter 6
Chapter Text
Shane pulls out a ritual from his jacket. "What is that?" "It's a ritual we have to set up so that we can bind the evil that will release these spirits and we can go home and get back to 2016. The ritual symbol must be drawn in ash and sand seven feet on each side from the center point," Shane explained. "And you're sure this will get us home?" Matt asked. Shane nodded. "Three of the artifacts must be placed onto the marked points of the symbol. The fourth artifact must be placed in the center of the inner triangle." Everyone starts setting up. "We are gonna go home. We are gonna go shopping. 2016!" Justine said, feeling happy.
"One must sit in the center triangle and wrap the black cord around the fourth artifact seven times, while another recites the binding and location." "Okay, so who's going in the middle?" "Well you're all in white, are we supposed to sacrifice a virgin?" Matt asked Sierra. "No no no," Sierra replied. "Yeah, Sierra, why don't you help out the group?" "Yeah, you haven't, you've just kinda been standing there," Oli said. "Why is everyone ganging up on me?" Sierra questioned. "I vote Sierra goes in the center," Michael said. "Oh my god, what is going on?" Everyone starts chiming in, agreeing with him.
They begin the ritual. Oli reads out the invocation, while Sierra starts binding the artifact. "With the thread of the crimes of your own design, I bind your evil seven times. I bind you from behind, I bind you from before that you'll hurt my people nevermore. I bind you from the left, I bind you from the right. I bind you day by day and I bind you by night. I bind you from below, I bind you from above. I bind you with your own evil within so let this magic unfold. Goddess of the darkest night, bind the presence that haunts this home in thy sacred fires of eternity."
"Did we do it?" An evil voice starts laughing. "What was that?" "That's not, we didn't do it." "That sounds like the devil," Oli remarked. "Shane, was that the right ritual?" Lele asked. "It should have been the right one. Why didn't it work?" Shane was confused. "Okay, what if there's something in here that we're missing?" Eva suggested."What if they just wanna play with us more?" Matt asked. Justine and Oli notice that there's this black box. They pull it out and open it. There's a key and a note inside. Justine read out the note when she picked it up.
"I've cast out demonic spirits and seen the devil himself, but nothing could prepare me for what I found here. This is truly the house that evil built. It haunts me every moment and as the days pass, I see more innocent lives devoured in its terrible mouth. I'm trapped in the back basement. Until I can find release from the evil." "There's someone else in this house. And he's trapped in the basement," Oli said. "I think we should go to the basement," Justine told. "Well then let's go. Let's go to the basement," Joey said. The group went into the basement.
They find a priest in the basement. "Don't! Don't get any closer." The priest said. "Hey guys, that looks like what we just tried to do," Shane reported. "What happened?" The priest asked. "We were trying to bind the evil so that we can get home." "Were you able to accomplish anything?" "It didn't work. The devil laughed at us," Shane explained. "The evil in this house gathers its strength from its five former owners and when they are released, that's when the demon will be weak enough to banish," The priest described. "That's why it didn't work." "I am one of the five former owners trapped in this house. But I lost my faith. I failed to exorcise a demon out of an innocent girl and because of that, she died."
"I just need your help. I need my cross so I can restore my faith and be released. I am trapped inside this circle of protection until my faith is restored. For you to retrieve my cross you must, you must perform an exorcism." "No!" Lele screamed. Justine kisses Eva and held her. "You must. And for that, you need to gather holy water and a rosary. They're both in separate rooms, hiding on the second floor. This is my bible, take it. You'll need it." Joey takes the bible.
"Now that you're on the path to do the exorcism, be aware, demons will be haunting you." The group went upstairs to the second floor and split up into two groups. Joey, Oli, Michael, Shane Eva, and Justine. Lele, Matt, Sierra. An hour passes, and both groups have gotten the holy water and the rosary beads. They head to the lounge. Arthur reads out the letter. "You now have the items needed to perform the exorcism. But only two may journey into the darkness and face the demon. They must be selected by vote. The first name drawn will assume the role of the first exorcist. And the next name drawn as the second exorcist.
"These are things that I've seen, these are things that I've studied and I believe that I'm probably a better fit to perform this exorcism," Matt stated. "Okay, Matt! Who else wants to do it?" Eva said. "This was a mistake," Matt realized. Before he knew it, he and Sierra were down in the basement, about to perform an exorcism. "Okay, it looks like it's instructions," Matt said. He read the instructions out loud. "To exercise a demon of this strength, it requires the effort of two exorcists. The second exorcist must take the rosary and holy water and complete four steps while the first exorcist holds down the victim no matter how hard they fight back.
There are three major steps to form the exorcism. After all these steps are over the fourth and final step will reveal itself to Matt. Sierra has to sit on the bed and hold down the woman and the entire time she's holding down, she has to say this prayer repeatedly and over and she has to memorize it. Sierra goes to the demon and starts saying the prayer. "Saint Michael, the archangel, be our protection from the wickedness and banish the evil..."
Matt makes a star of candles around a chamber with the incense inside and writes the symbols on the ground. Sierra keeps saying the prayer over and over. The fourth step is to sprinkle holy water on the victim. He does it, and puts the rosary on Sierra. Sierra dies. "Sierra, I'm so sorry. I did this wrong," Matt panics. He heads upstairs. "I killed her," Matt announces. "You killed her?" "It was an accident!" "So you didn't read the whole note?" Michael asked. "I didn't read the whole thing because it was on a time constraint, I was trying to go as fast as I could," Matt explains. The group heads downstairs to the priest. Matt hands the priest his cross. "Thank you, thank you, I'm free. I kept the journal with my observations of the other owners. He will help you find them," The priest said. The priest disappears.
"Don't even read the book, it doesn't matter. We killed off all of our friends just to get the four artifacts and then we find out we need to do more just so that we can kill even more people to hopefully get out of the house. This is never going to end and we are all going to die," Lele said.

"Do you not see a pattern here? Do you guys get where I'm coming from?" Matt asked. "Okay, but we can't, like, just give up, otherwise we're as good as dead," Eva said. "Well, why don't we just try going and finding the next owner so we can free it and get on with our lives?" Joey said. "Yeah." "Alright, alright." Michael opens up David Santos' journal, and flips to a page with the mermaid. "What is that, Mikey?" Joey asked. "Oh, a mermaid?" Lele asked, confused. Michael "Madison developed a taste for men and soon the pool was filled with her victims. The key to her room rests on the first floor and can only be found by breaking open the world."
Right away, everyone lit up because there's a globe on one side of the room. They go to one globe. "I think we should step on it," "Yeah, break that off." Oli takes the globe and steps on it. It breaks into two, but nothing is inside. "There's nothing in it? Alright, that's not the world." "So, what could it be?" "Oh, there's another globe there!" "Can I break it?" Michael asked. "Yeah, yeah, just do it.," Shane replied. Michael takes the other globe, puts it on the floor, and steps on it. "Bloody hell!" Oli yelled. "The key to the room is on the first floor," Joey read out loud. "This is the first floor," Eva stated. "This is the ground floor," Oli said. "We're not in London!" Shane told. "Stop talking crazy English talk!" Justine exclaimed.
"Let's just look in other rooms," Matt said." "Oh, there's a world map in the foyer. I don't know if we need to break it, I was just saying that there's a map." Everyone starts ripping worldsm hoping "There's so many." "There's so many worlds." "That spirit is gonna be pissed." "If my house gets trashed in the process of freeing us, then I'm fine with that," Joey said. Matt opened a small globe on a statue. "I found the keys!" Everyone rushes upstairs and they try the key on the first door. Calvin looks at Michael as he peeks out of his room. Michael doesn't notice, and the guests head in.
The guests scream as they see a mermaid locked up in a bathtub. "Please help me! The house, it lied to me! It said I would be free, but now I am in chains. I hated my husband, it's true," Madison said. "What happened to you?" Matt asked. "He was a very, very bad man. But the worst part is, I've lost my daughter too. The only way I can be with her again is if I find her favorite doll, and then I make things right with those, I have killed. You, you, can you help me do those things?" Madison said, looking at Michael. "Wait, wait, hold on, you're one of the previous owners, right?" Oli asked.
"Yes, I am. Please help me, I will tell you how to go about it, please get the doll" Madison said. "How do we know we can trust you, though?" Lele asked. "You can, look at me. Listen to me, I wrote the names of the men I murdered. In my diary on the counter, those names, they need to be measured by the letter in coin. And my husband, my husband kept a stash of gold coins in the dining room. There must be enough to pay for them. All you need to do is, you have to retrieve three bodies of the innocent men that are chained to the bottom of the pool but the pool is guarded by my wicked sisters. Anyone, anyone of you who dares to enter that pool will be torn into shreds! But they can be lured away by a very special song. You have to find it, and after that, you will be shown where to find the doll."
"Guys, we need to go," Oli said. The guests start going downstairs. "I don't know why we're doing this," Matt said. "Of course you don't know why we're doing this," Eva replied. "Shut up!" Joey remarked. Calvin goes downstairs and hides behind the wall of the lounge. Downstairs, the guests look at the chest. "Look. Yeah, the chest. There's a lock on it. And we need three numbers." "There's a symbol over here." It's a tab card counter. "Tab cards. Like a coin counter?"Eva asked. "The weight of sin will open the door to a song." "69 pounds? 69, 69-" Justine said. "Didn't she say that we need to put the weight of the coins..." "The weight of the coins. Yeah, of the sin." The guests start looking for the weight of sin.
"Sin, the weight of sin." "Alcohol?" "Yes, alcohol is a sin and-" "There's alcohol over there." "Do you think you'd weigh that?" "Try 620," Joey said. "620? It's not, it's not 620," Oli replied. "Sarah, do you know anything about the weight of sin? Sinning in this house? Sin at all?" Shane asked, Sarah shook her head. "Why don't we put you on it?" Justine asked. "Why am I a sin?" Matt questioned. "Damn!" "You know what? Let's ask the spirit board," Michael said. Give us a sign of where it could be. Where is the weight of sin?" Joey asked. The spirit board says floor, and they realize it has to be on the floor somewhere. Justine looks at a gate. She starts picking apart the gate on the floor of the vent, and there is the box. "Oh, my gosh! We got the gold," Justine said, feeling proud.
"Awesome, let's put it on the scale," Joey stated. They put the whole bag on there, but that number didn't work for the combination. "Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, what did she say? She said something else." "Their names need to be measured by the letter in coin. I think it's measured by the letter in coin." "Maybe it has something to do with the three names that she's killed," Shane said. "I'm not gonna lie to you guys, I'm a little burnt out after I killed Sierra. So, my brain, my brain isn't, you know. I get it if you don't understand what to do, but don't like, put your hands up and be like, You guys figure it out," Matt stated. Michael rolled his eyes. "Count the letters in the names, try that out."
"Okay, so let's put 43 coins in the bag and then weigh that." "I don't think we have 43 coins," Eva remarked. They put the combination in, and find the records. "Play this record to lure the evil mermaids out of the water, but once they've come to the source of the song, you must find a way to keep them there." The group heads outside to the pool with the record. Calvin slips out and follows them outside. He hides behind the pool house. There are actually mermaids in the pool and they're terrifying. "Oh, my God!" "Ahhh!" Calvin was shocked as he looked at the mermaids in the pool. "Listen, split up, look for a record player out here." "I've always known that there was this record player in the ballroom. But how are we gonna get the record player to play the sound and for the mermaids to hear it when it's in the ballroom?" Michael asked.
"Wherever this plays, that's where the mermaids are gonna be attracted to. But not inside the house. I don't want them in here," Joey remarked. "Yeah, they're gonna get, like, wet all over the carpet. It's a really nice carpet." "So the plan is, we're going to keep the phonograph in the pool house, we're gonna put the record in, run out, and lure the mermaids in," Shane stated. Oli put the record in the pool house and played the creepy music. The mermaids were lured in, and Oli closed the door on them. Calvin moves to a tree. "Right. Uh, we have the three dead bodies in here. Uh, who's, who's going in?" Matt said.
Eva and Justine strip down to their swimwear, and dive in. "Don't drown!" Joey said. They take each of the bodies out, one by one. After they get the pocket watch, they add up the numbers on the turtles, look at the moon, and find something in the treasure chest beside the pool. Matt has just completely given up and he's making a point to tell all of them that he just doesn't care anymore. "The doll dwells inside a wicked little house which waits in the north corner of the third floor. Two guests, selected by vote, must place this tablet on the mantle outside the room and the door will be opened. But, what lies inside will haunt them forever." "Yeah, let's definitely take a vote, 'cause I know exactly who I'm voting for," Eva said. "It's about time. It's time for Matt to go," Shane said.
The group went back into the lounge. Calvin followed, making sure he wasn't seen by anyone. The guests voted. "Matt and Eva," Arthur announced. "What?! Who voted for Eva?!" Justine said, shocked. Matt and Eva head upstairs to the challenge. Calvin went upstairs, and wrote out a note. "Both of you take a drink if you want to know more." "What?" Eva said, confused. They took a drink. He slipped a note to Matt and Eva. "You just drank poison." "Are you serious?" Matt said. Eva shrugged. "There's only one portion of the antidote and the only way to retrieve it is to search your side of the room for three dolls that best reflect the rhymes in your storybook, and place them in their proper setting in the house."
They started doing the challenge. "Little General Monk sat upon a trunk eating a crust of bread," Matt read out. "Lizzy Borden took an axe, gave her mother 40 whacks," Eva read. "Dead was she on Friday, glad was I on Saturday night to bury my wife on Sunday." They start placing dolls in their dollhouses. "Old Father Long Legs can't say his prayers, take him by the left leg and throw him down the stairs. And when he's at the bottom, before he long has lain, take him by the right leg, pull him up again." They both get onto the last rhyme and finish. Matt drinks the vial. It was full of poison. Matt dies and knocks over the dollhouse. Eva grabs the vial from the back of the drawer, drinks it, and she lives.
Eva goes downstairs with the doll. The guests cheer. "Eva!!" Justine runs up to Eva, and tackle hugs her." Hey!" Eva laughs. "Well, let's go give it to her, guys. Come on, let's go." They go upstairs with the doll. Eva gives the mermaid the doll, and she disappears. "Now what?" Shane asked. "We freed her. I guess we just find the next owner now," Joey told. "There we are. Alright. So who's the next owner?" Oli said.
Chapter 9: Chapter 8
Chapter Text
Michael opened the journal and flipped to the next page. "His name is Colin Wentworth, he's from New Haven, Connecticut and fought in the Great War. Colin is a World War One soldier. That is obsessed with gold. He has the power to leave the house at any time but he refuses to go out without the stash of German gold, that he recovered during the Blitzkrieg. Colin liked to move the gold daily and one of his hiding spots was in a locked box. He kept the combination hidden in riddles which he wrote down in a notebook," Michael read out loud. "Why does everybody in the 1920s love riddles so much?" Shane shrugged.
"We need to find a safe and we also need to find his notebook." The guests stand up and head to the library. "Alright, let's do this. Let's get this sorted." Oli finds the safe under the desk, and he puts it on the table. Shane goes upstairs and finds the notebook in the Study. He goes back downstairs. "Okay, first riddle!" Joey said. It can be dropped from the tallest of buildings and survive but drop it from the smallest ship and it won't. "Paper?" Lele told. "A feather," Eva stated. "Okay so let's put feather down." "Okay so paper, P-A-P-E-R, okay so five. The second riddle is, what is so delicate that even mentioning it breaks it?" "Love?" Justine said. "Your love for each other, Justine and Eva," Michael replied. Justine and Eva blushed.
"like a... blanket?" "That's delicate? You wouldn't break a blanket," Oli said. "That's true," Shane replied. "Even mentioning it breaks it. "break the silence, yeah. "S-C, wait." "S-I-L-E-N C-E." "Five, and seven," Michael said. The third riddle is: If you give me food, I live, if you give me water, I die. "Fire!" "F-I-R-E. That's four so the answer is four. Oli enters in five, seven, four. They open the safe. Inside the safe is a huge gold bar. They lift it out and there's another note saying:
Dad, I'm sorry I've not visited since returning from the war. I have been trying to help the men, they are struggling with the shock of coming home. I've been so consumed with helping them, I feel like I haven't left the top floor of the estate. Eva grabs the gold bar.
The group heads upstairs, and find Colin on the top floor. Colin points a gun at the group. "Who the hell are you?" Colin said. "Okay, calm down!"S hane replied. Colin looks at the bar of gold. "Where did you get that?" "In the safe." "Are you trying to steal my gold?" Colin asked. "No no no no," The guests say. "Can I see it?" Colin put his hand out. "Side note, why are you so attractive?" Lele asked. "Do you think he's hot, love?" Eva asked Justine, playing with a bit of her hair. "Of course not. You're the prettiest," Justine replied. Eva smiled. Most of the guests are mesmerized by Colin's appearance. Eva gives Colin the bar of gold. "It's coming back to me now," Colin announced.
"Can you help us?" Oli asked. "You want me to help you?" Colin replied. "Yes." We're gonna get out of here, we're gonna need some gear, okay? If you need anything along the way just let me know," Colin explained. "I'm scared." "He's kinda hot," Joey thought. "The other thing we gotta do, we gotta get outside. I gotta get to my two-way radio to my CO. He's going to give us our mission's objective and he's gonna tell us where to go from there, alright." "I wouldn't mind getting stuck for a hundred years with this guy," Shane said. "Would you stop?!" Michael yelled. Colin put his coat on. He rolled his eyes. Oli whispered to Michael. I'm freaking out and all they're thinking about is how they can get this guy's flipping trousers off." "I know, right? He's not that cute," Michael whispered. Colin went downstairs, and the guests followed him.
"I'm scared will you hold me?" Joey asked. "I'm scared can you hug me?" Lele asked. They went outside. "I feel like I'm in Call of Duty." "Are we at war?" "There's nothing out here Colin-" Joey gets cut off by Colin shooting his pistol. "Woah, woah, woah. What did you just shoot?" Oli asked. Get on the radio, they think I'm a deserter," Colin said. Justine gets the phone and picks it up. "Hello, is there anyone there?" Justine asked. "Where the hell have you been, soldier? We're getting killed out here.
Now listen up, there's a small rotunda on the south side of the estate, inside are top-secret documents that we need badly. However, it's guarded by a vicious sniper with a wicked eye who shoots at anything that moves. If I were in your boots, I would circle around to the far side of the estate and frag that dirty Jerry with a grenade through the window." "A grenade through the window?" Yes, a grenade, are you deaf?" "Yes, I'm super scared, I'm a YouTuber," Lele said. "Documents inside should give you the next step. Good luck soldier." "Hey, we're moving," Colin said, The group followed Colin to the other side of the estate Colin keeps shooting soldiers and looks out for any more.
"You see him right there? The sniper's right there in the rotunda. We're going to walk around the other side of the house, stay on my tail." They follow Colin to the rotunda. We're gonna take this grenade. I need you to run a bee line up to the rotunda and I need you to throw it through the window, alright?" Colin asked. Eva nodded. He put the grenade in her hand. His hand feels warm. Colin pulls the pin, and Eva throws it into the rotunda, killing the sniper. "Somebody go in there and grab the briefcase," Colin said. Michael goes in, grabs the briefcase, and shows it to the group. Operation heatwave, burn before reading. Colin lights a cigarette and smokes.
"Can I have your lighter?" Shane asked. "What are you about to do," Colin asked, giving the lighter to Shane. "I'm about to burn the briefcase," Shane replied. He burns the sides. "Two, seven, seven, two, zero, zero," The group read out. Joey puts the code in, and opens the briefcase. He opens the document and it said: Operation heatwave in the process is experiment 2772. A mutation serum that will transform a common soldier into a monstrous killing machine. However, the experiment subject got loose and killed the scientist.
The operation was never able to recover the doctor's private records which contained valuable information. Your mission is to enter the lab and retrieve the records. The group follows Colin with the document to the lab. Colin hands Oli his gun. "You ready, this is the old army key," Colin used his shovel to open the door. Joey and Michael, but Colin accidentally locks himself and the others out. "Go around and look for another way inside," Colin said. "What do we need to do, Mikey?" Joey asked. "We need to make something," Michael replied. Joey looks at the leaflet. Michael and Joey look around for serums. Outside, Colin starts shooting zombies.
They find the serums, and put them in the metal dish. Joey grabs the string, and stabs the monster with it. Michael grabs the box. Joey and Michael head out with the box. Shane opens it. "What is this?" "It's dry ice." Lele, like the crazy girl she is, just starts gashing at it with a shovel. "The two best soldiers must be selected by vote of the group to go inside the east side guest house and battle for glory," Lele read. "That's it, that's where the gold is. It's in the house," Colin said.
The group heads back inside, and votes. "Shane and Lele," Arthur announced. Colin whispers to Michael. "Beware of Calvin. He's still alive, and he's coming for you." "Calvin? I thought it was the Cursed God," Michael whispered, confused. "Both of them are," Colin whispered. Michael nodded. Shane and Lele follow Colin into the challenge. "Alright soldiers, listen up. Take a seat and touch nothing," Colin showed. Shane and Lele sat down at their respective seats. " Now this is all-out war, and you two are caught in the middle. Despite your best efforts, there will be a casualty tonight. On the table, is a revolver and two briefcases. Open the box in front of you, do not show the other soldier what's inside. Do not touch the revolver until told to do so.First off, each player must place their soldiers on the battlefield in the most strategic positions." Colin closed the doors.
Shane and Lele set up their boards. "Ready," They both say. On your turn, announce a pair of coordinates. Now if the opposing player does not have a soldier on that space, then you put a peg there so you don't call it again. If the opposing player has a soldier on that space...They must pick up the revolver. Place it to the side of their head. And pull the trigger. The battle will end when one of you puts a bullet through your skull. "G eight," Lele said. "No, Shane replied." "F three." "No." "G six." "Hit." Shane puts the gun to his head. The gun clicks. Colin yawned.
"E two." "No." Colin sighs, takes a chair and sits down. "B one." "No." "E 10." "No." "D four." "No." "Dude are you cheating?" Lele asked. If I shoot myself and then I come back as a spirit and saw that you cheated, I'm gonna haunt you forever," Shane declared. "I'm not cheating," Lele replied. "H three." "Hit." The gun clicks. "H eight," Shane said. "Hit," Lele replied. Lele pulls the trigger and it goes off. "You made it through, private. Now get that gold over there and get out of here," Colin said, getting up. They head back to the lounge with the gold. "Hey, Colin?" Shane asked. "What's up?" Colin replied. "You're a pretty cool dude," Shane told. "Thanks. Now, there's one thing I need to do," Colin stated. He took his gun from Oli, went upstairs, and shot Calvin in the head. Then he went downstairs to the lounge. He sat next to Shane.
"Look, there's two more owners we need to find," Joey said. "Who's gonna die next." "We don't know that." "I don't wanna think about it either y'know." "Maybe we're all gonna make it," Michael answered. "I doubt it, but okay," Justine replied. We need two more owners, let's go get them," Oli stated. "Moving forward, it's time for us to work together as one. Now let's go," Joey said.
Chapter 10: Chapter 9
Chapter Text
"And then there were four of us." "Guys, the light is coming in. It's almost morning, you know what that means. It means we're all going to die!" Oli said. " We need to work fast here and we just need to get this over and done with, okay? We need to look at this book and figure out what we need to do," Eva announced. Michael opened the journal and flipped to the next page. "Who is it?" Joey asked. Michael read aloud. "Vincent Wells is a madman. He sees impossible things, horrifying things. He would stare endlessly at light bulbs. I never knew what he saw, but it seemed like he was trying to burn holes into his eyes.
His sanity may be gone, but his heart is good. He hid something in the dining room. I was never able to find it." "He sounds like a psycho," Colin said, confused. Everyone agreed. "Oh, look what I found! There are four numbers and this box," Oli told. "Look, look, there are colors; there's black, gray, green, and yellow. I don't know what that means, but-" Joey gets cut off by Justine. "That's blue," Justine replied. "Guys?" "What?" "Well, this light bulb isn't on.." Oli unscrewed the lightbulb from the lamp. The guests look for other lightbulbs, and unscrew them. They realize the lightbulbs and find the numbers on them. Then, they put in the code.
Eva puts the code in, and they grab the keys as they open it. They went upstairs with the key to try and find Vincent. They go into the room. He looks at the group. "Who are you? How long have you been there?" Vincent asked. "We just got here," Joey said. "Colin... Where's Calvin? He's alive, isn't he?" He looked at Colin. "Used to be. I took care of him. He was going to murder Michael.." Colin replied. Joey's eyes went wide. "After.. my brother?" Joey was so confused. "What does Michael have to do with all of this?" Oli asked. "Michael is the key to helping us. You need to keep him safe," Vincent replied. Arthur glared at Vincent.
"Can you help us get out of here?" Eva proposed. "Be careful of this house. When I first came here, I thought it was going to be like the home that I never had. I thought I would show the world that what I see is real. I know that now. And this house has become a dark and unfriendly place that has locked me in this straight jacket so I never leave it. There are three keys needed to unlock this jacket, but you're going to have to dive inside my hallucinations to find them.
If you go to the landing, there's an inkblot card. It's gonna show you my most vivid hallucination. You have to go now. Go now. I'm getting a vision and you don't want to be here for much longer. Go, please go! Now!" The guests leave and find an inkblot. Colin looks at it. "That's the inkblot," Colin said.
Eva flips it to the other side. On the backside of the inkblot card, is a map of where the hallucinations are. The guests head over to the greenhouse and open up the door. There are loads and loads of plants all over the place. "Hey look, Aloe Vera!" Justine pointed at the Aloe Vera. "Are you gonna take that home, Justine?" Joey asked. "Maybe......." Justine replied, taking the plant. Joey chuckled.
Suddenly an infected human busts his hands through the greenhouse. "Right, right. Listen, listen, listen. I believe there is a way to merge plants and flesh to create an entirely new species, a swamp man. I made a mistake with my first subject in creating an abomination, which I must soon destroy before it destroys me. I devised a new method for burying the flesh so it merges with the root system of the plants."
Everyone starts looking in the Greenhouse. We need Romulus. Where's- Romulus is over here. Okay," Joey said. "There's something in there. We have one of 'em!" Justine screams. "I found a hand!" "Okay, we've got the head. Let's put all the pieces together." "My hands are dirty. Is there any more shovels over.." "We found a hand! Put a hand there." The zombie gets angry. Colin points his gun at it. "Oh my god! Piss off!" Oli yelled. Eva digs. "Alright, we got a foot-" "A foot! Ewww!"
"Abtenia Cortofolia. What is this language?" Joey questioned. "I hate plants. I didn't even think you could hate plants, but I hate plants," Oli stated. The zombie growls. "Growl again, and I'll blow your brains out," Colin said. "You know what? Screw the freaking plant. Just dig wherever you can. Destroy this freaking greenhouse," Joey announced. Everyone started smashing plants. "Ow, that landed on my head!" Eva yelled. "I'm sorry, I'm just trying to hurry up!" Justine said, giving a kiss to Eva. "I am never helping my mum garden again," Oli stated.
The group finds all the body parts and they start burying them in the compost heap. A swamp monster emerges, and the guests run away. "No one told me a green monster lives here!" Colin screamed. The zombie and the monster fight, and the monster wins. They take the zombie somewhere else. Colin digs with his shovel and finds a box. The others run over to Colin and open the box. One of the keys is inside.
"We need to go to the second location. The second hallucination." Oli pulls out the map. They head over to the back of the estate. In front of them, they can see massive boulders with loads of masks on and in the middle, is a woman with a spiky mask on with a samurai sword.
Shane read aloud. "The face is really the mask and the mask is really the person. Unravel the five identities hidden behind the masks. One will lead to the next and the order must be perfect. If an incorrect mask is taken from the wall, she will come for blood. To protect yourself from her deadly blade, you must be wearing a burlap sack. Begin with the demon who is dreaming." Everyone grabbed a sack.
They find 4 masks. Colin rips off the woman's mask, and they run to the lounge before she can slice them. Eva takes a key. "The final hallucination is buried in the darkest part of Vincent's psyche. Unlike the others, the consequence for failure now is pain and death. Two of you must be selected by vote to sit in the chairs of a mad man. Then those two must select a partner of the opposite gender to aid them. You will find the hallucination waiting for you in the basement." The guests put their names into the hat. "Oli and Shane," Arthur announced. They picked their partners and went downstairs. Joey looked at Michael, worryingly. Matt put his hand on Joey's hand. "We're gonna get out of here, I promise," Micheal said. Joey nodded with a tear in his eyes. Colin sighed.
In the basement, Oli, Shane, Eva, and Justine look at the electric chairs. Shane reads aloud. "My name is Dr. Price and I have developed a unique treatment for overcoming hallucinations. Each voted for guest needs to take a seat in their respective learning chair. Their partner must then lock them into the chair by securing the straps. Located across from the learning chairs are crates containing metal rings. Each of you must stand across from your partner, behind the chalk mark on the floor and toss the rings into the five electrical rods. Missed rings will give their partner a little shock. The first guest to have three rings around any of the electrical rods will complete the circuit and cure their partner's hallucinations. However, the guest who failed to learn will suffer a severe shock which will end their life." Eva and Justine put their partners into the chairs and strap them in.
You both have thirty minutes before the chairs short circuit on their own, killing both guests. The timer will now start." The timer starts. Eva and Justine start tossing the rings. Oli gets shocked a bit, and so does Shane. "Ow!" Shane yells. "You got this. Come on, you can do this!" Oli said. "I got one! Eva!, I got one, I got one!" Justine said as she lands a ring. "Oh, come on, Eva, you can do this. You can do this," Oli told. "I'm trying! It's so hard when you got two people screaming and you got the electric shocks going on. It's really nerve-wracking!" Eva yelled. "Yeah! I got a second one!" Justine smiles. Justine and Eva get two rings. The pressure is on. "I can't stand any more of this, Eva! Please, please!" Justine gets her last one, and Oli gets electrified to death. Eva gasps. Justine gets Shane out of the chair. Eva grabs the key, and they go back to the lounge.
"Let's head upstairs now," Colin announced. Everyone went upstairs. With the three keys, Joey sets Vincent free. "I'm free. My hallucinations are gone..." Vincent said. He looks at Michael. "You. I don't envy the road that lies ahead of you, the owner of this house is a monster! You can have it all. The house! The hallucinations... You need to be careful, Michael." "That will be all, Vincent!" Arthur yelled. "You don't control me anymore. I tried to warn you, but you didn't listen. One among you in league with the evil of the house. If I were you, I'd run," "Run!" Colin yelled.
Chapter 11: Chapter 10
Chapter Text
Joey, Michael, Shane, Justine, and Eva are tied up to posts in the torture chamber. There is a crazy lunatic man in the corner. Michael wakes up first. "Guys?" Michael called. Joey woke up, and so did the other guests. "Oh my God! Guys we're, we're chained!" Shane said. "Look, look, look I have a box. I have a box," Joey told. "All dressed up and nowhere to go! Welcome to my house!" The lunatic man said. "Joey, get it. Open the box." He tries the key in the box, but it doesn't fit. He slides the key over to Eva, who opens her box. Inside is a key, she unlocks one of the shackles around her wrist and then she spots another key which opens another one of their boxes. So it's a big teamwork thing where they have to push pokers back and forth to find the ones that work for them. The lunatic mocks Joey.
They get each other out and open another box. "What's inside? What's inside?" Shane questioned. Inside is a pocket watch and also a note that says they've been injected by this serum. "By the time the sun rises at 6 am, you will be as complacent as well trained animals, and ready to join the house staff." Michael checks his watch and said: it's 5:30. We have half an hour. Let's go. They head into Arthur's room. "There are files everywhere, it seems like the place where someone crazy would live. The only thing it's missing is, like, that board on the wall with all of our photos and like red sharpies, you know?" Justine remarked. "Guys, I found a key. On top of here," Eva said. Joey finds a file with all of the guests' fingerprints on it, and even Joey and Michael's.
Shane read aloud. "Brother, you have humiliated me, betrayed me, enchained me in a dark corner of your new estate. You brought me here to help you clean things up, but really you needed to stab me in the back... To show the wicked presence your loyalty. Someday the key to my cell will be found, and when that day comes I will repay this betrayal with blood. I know you've hidden it behind a trail of gems the first of which lurks beneath the surface of a reflecting pool."Arthur has a brother who is locked up and chained in the house somewhere, who was betrayed, he wants to kill Arthur.
"Let's take this with us. This key has to belong to something." "This door, right here." Eva unlocks the door, and said: Guys, my nail broke. An alarm rings. They get outside, nd the group quickly realizes that Marvin, Sarah and Arthur are after them, and they need to stay hidden from them at all cost. "I don't know how they got out. Sarah, you take the house," Arthur said. "Okay," Sarah replied. "Marvin, you check the side, if you find them, gut them where they stand. This game is over. And find Colin. If you do, kill him," Marvin told. Marvin nodded. They start looking for the guests.
The group go over to the fountain in the front yard. "Where's Colin?" Michael asked. Joey shrugged. Then, Colin comes out behind a bush. "Guys! I am so glad to see you! What happened to you guys?" Colin asked. "We got hit with a serum. If we reach 6 am before we are able to get out of here, we'll be part of the house staff," Eva explained. Colin and the guests hide behind the fountain. There's a gem in the water. Shane notices the 3 diamonds and a chest. They put them on the chest and it opens.
"Arthur!" Sarah yelled. "What?" "I saw them over there!" "The spirits will speak words to help you restore my evil eyes, so I might guard the house with my wings." "Wings? We need to get inside!" Colin said. They followed Colin inside. "I think they went in the house," Marvin said. Eva closed the door. "Alright, listen-" Michael pulls everyone under the table. "Come out, come out and play!" Marvin yelled. They run upstairs, undetected. Justine runs and gets another note on the roof, and runs back to the group. "I overlook the back of the estate, and wait to feast on green. A metal spiral of pain will lead you to my table of blood."
They look for Sarah. "Coast is clear," Joey said. They ran to the spiral staircase. "This is insane. You are the worst searchers I've ever hired," Arthur facepalms. "Eva, Marvin thinks you're cute," Sarah announced. Sarah made a disgusted face. "Am I fired?" Marvin asked. "No. No one else can do the pansies like you," Arthur replied. They get the key, and head to the basement. Eva opens the door, and they find Arthur's brother.
They untie his brother. "I'm Dave. My brother's a dead man," Dave said. They follow him outside. Arthur runs up to the group and grabbed Shane. "Shane!" Joey yelled. "Help me!!!!" Shane screamed. Arthur put his arm around Shane's neck and choked him to death. Dave sliced Marvin and killed him. Arthur shot Dave in the arm. "Oh my god!!!" Eva screamed. He shoots him again. Dave grabs Marvin's gun and shoots Arthur. Arthur falls into the fountain.
Colin shoots Sarah in the head and takes Shane's jacket. The group heads back inside with Colin. Joey takes out the right ritual. They get the sand and move the furniture out of the way. Joey grabs the deed and pockets it. Michael looks at Joey, then back at the furniture. They set up the ritual. Michael, Colin, Eva, and Justine sit outside with each of their artifacts in front of them. Joey sits in the middle, binding the artifact with white rope. Michael reads the invocation.
"With the thread of the crimes of your own design I bind your evil three times. Seven times, I bind you from behind I bind you from before that you hurt my people never more. I bind you from the left, I bind you from the right I bind you by day, I bind you by night. I bind you from below, I bind you from above. I bind you with your own evil within, so let this magic unfold. Goddess of the darkest night, bind the presence that haunts this home in thy sacred fires of eternity."
All of the dark magic gets sucked into the middle artifact."Did it work?" Joey asked. "I think it worked," Justine replied. "Let's bury these, come on," Colin said, getting up. The group grabs the artifacts, and head outside. They put them into a box, close it, and bury the box. "This night has been the craziest night of my life," Eva said. "I don't think I'm ever going to go to a dinner party. Doesn't matter where it is, who it's with, I don't do dinner parties now," Justine announced. They walked to the entrance of the estate. Joey felt some dark entity enter his soul, and his eyes went dark. Right after, his eyes and the cracks went back to normal. Joey opened the gate, and they finally felt free from the estate.
Chapter 12: Interlude
Chapter Text
As the group walked towards the street of the neighborhood, everyone got their phones back. Michael's phone started ringing. As he took out his phone to pick up the call, his clothes changed. Then, Colin's, Eva, Justine's, and Joey's outfits changed to what they wore before they put on the 1920s attire, with some light magic swirling around them. "Woah!" Colin said, in awe as he saw a swirl of magic that had magically taken away his military jacket and guns.

"Hello?" Michael answered. "Joey!!! It's me, Bryan Dechart! We've been looking everywhere for you!" Bryan exclaimed. He turned on FaceTime. Eva, Justine, Joey, and Colin looked over at Michael's phone, as he lifted it up. "And you've got more friends, too!" Amelia said. Michael nodded. "These are my new friends! Joey, Colin, Justine, and Eva!" As Michael introduced them, they said hello. "Nice to meet you! My name is Bryan Dechart, and this is my beautiful wife, Amelia Rose Blaire!" Bryan announced. "So, why'd you call us?" Joey asked. "You've noticed the glitches, right? They're getting worse! After you disappeared, more and more of our friends are disappearing as well! We don't know where they went, but you seem safe," Bryan said.
"Safe? We just escaped from Joey's estate, and went through many horrors! I don't think you can call that safe," Justine remarked. "Oh. Anyways, did you guys track down the anomaly?" Amelia asked. "Not yet. We're going to figure it out soon. Until then, you guys should stay safe," Colin said. Bryan and Amelia nodded. Michael ended the call. "Let's head to my house, we can-" Joey gets cut off by a glitch. They are now at Joey's house, sitting on his couch together. "What was that?" Eva asked. "A glitch. They'll probably get more frequent if we don't track down this anomaly!" Michael replied. "Wait, but I have one question. Michael, what was in that note Arthur gave you?" Justine questioned.
"It said that the Cursed God knows about me, and is out for me. It is out for all of us..." Michael replied. "Oh," Justine said. "I think our focus now should be to relax. Also, the anomaly. If these glitches get worse, we might not be the same ever again," Colin stated. "Agreed. So, what do you guys wanna do now?" Joey asked. "Let's play some video games!" Joey booted up Mario Kart 8 and handed everyone a controller. Everyone chose their drivers and their karts.
Joey Graceffa - Mario
Michael Graceffa - Luigi
Eva Gutowski - Princess Daisy
Justine Ezarik - Princess Peach
Colin - Bowser
Flower Cup

"Okay, here we go!" Joey announced. The first track is Mario Circuit. Lakitu drops down on the TV screen and shows a timer. It counts down from 3. When it hits GO, the group starts playing. "Sorry Eva, but I gotta go go go!" Justine said, hitting Eva's driver and going. "I'm gonna get you, Justine!!!" Eva yelled, getting a red shell. Joey hits Justine and is now in first place. "Haha! Got ya!" "Noo!! Joey!!!!" Colin gets a blooper, and hit uses it. "Ah! I can't see anything!! Colin!!!" Colin chuckled. Michael hits Eva's character. "Michael!!!" The first lap passes. "You all need to stop hitting me!" Eva said. Everyone laughed. A CPU hit Joey out of first place. "Stupid CPU!! It squished me!!!" Joey yelled. "Karma!"
The second lap passed. Michael was in first place, Eva in second, Justine in third, Colin in 4th, and Joey in 6th, behind a CPU. Joey gets a bullet bill and surpasses everyone to first place. "Wooo! I got you all!" Joey said, feeling proud. "Just wait, karma's coming for you!" The first cup continued, and the results were in for the first track. Colin was in first, Joey in second, Eva in third, Justine in third, and Michael in 4th. "Nice, Colin! I didn't know you played Mario kart!" Justine remarked. "Actually, this is my first time playing," Colin replied. And so, the group played the rest of the Flower Cup.
"Mario Kart is so much fun! We should play this every day!" "We really should!" Joey looked at the time. "Well, we should go sleep. It's literally 11 pm right now," Joey said. "We've been playing for that long? Was there another glitch?" "Probably." Joey turned off Mario Kart, and the TV, The group went upstairs to their respective bedrooms and slept for the night. Joey took care of the pets before he went to bed. As the quiet night began, everything felt peaceful. Until a system message showed up in front of Michael. He woke up and looked at the message with his sleepy eyes.
"Glitch in the MainFrame..." The message read. Colin woke up and yawned. It was 2 am. The others woke up. Michael got up and went to Colin's room, then stretched. Colin invited Michael in. "What is it?" Colin asked, sleepily. "It's the Mainframe. It's glitching," Michael yawned. Justine and Eva walked into the room. "Guys... Joey's missing!" Justine said. They went to Joey's room. He was gone. "Where is he?" "I don't know... Let's go downstairs." The group went downstairs. There was a mysterious package on the kitchen table. Justine opened it.
Inside was a victorian outfit, a pen and a journal, and a letter. Eva took the letter and read it aloud. "My friends, I've been away for far too long. I want to invite you to a masquerade ball at an estate like no other. I'll explain everything after you arrive. To attend, you must assume a persona reminiscent of the Victorian Era... And be dressed accordingly, or the carriage, which can bring you across time. Will remain invisible to your eyes. A package will accompany your invitation with the proper attire, which may contain a useful object. There will be people and creatures unique to the estate that know their place whom you will interact with. You, however, will have no knowledge of what is to come. You will be a newborn babe in this exciting and sometimes frightening place."
"That does not sound like Joey," Eva remarked. "What should we do?" Justine asked. "I need to investigate this on my own. You two can stay here," Michael stated. "Michael, let me come with you. You need someone to protect you. This could be dangerous," Colin said. Michael nodded. "Are you really going to go?" Eva asked. "I have to. If I don't, who knows what will happen?" Eva sighed. Michael put on his outfit, and so did Colin. Justine gave Michael the letter. Colin and Michael left the house, giving a spare key to Eva before they left.
