Chapter Text

Nicolette is sitting on a chair at the waterhole, she strolled into town a couple days ago and found she really liked coming here. the atmosphere was nice and relaxed. she had just had a fight with her mother jane, the pair of them have been strayed for a long time. nicolette had told her mum she was gay years ago and the relationship was strained since than. calling to the barman he came over

'hey can i get 2 shots of tequila and another scotch and coke please shane?

'yea sure nic. any food?

'hot chips would be great

'coming up..... shane was the barman at the waterhole and had struck up a friendship with the younger redheaded woman. he went off to get nicolette her drinks and snack making a point to keep an eye on the woman. she was clearly in a bad mood and seen as nicolette didnt know anyone he wanted to make sure she was safe. nicolette huffed and stood up going to the pool table. she decided to play a game on her own to try to get her head right after her fight with her mum. she racked up and hit the balls. shane bought over her drinks and chips and left her too it. An hour passed and nicolette was well and truly intoxicated, she wasnt messy or anything like that but she had about 5 shots and 4 drinks. 

'hey shane another drink please.... he nodded to her from behind the bar. she wasnt drunk or causing trouble so would allow her a couple more drinks. she turned back to check her phone seeing a text message from her mum

'nicolette we need to talk about things, where are you?.... another text followed

'i cant believe your being unreasonable, i told you i didnt like hearing about you having girlfriends, just call me so i can come and see you.... nicolette ignored the texts and threw her phone on the table only for it to slide off and land on the floor

'shit'.... she mumbled to herself, bending down she was unstable and lost her footing nearly falling over but felt soft hands on her waist

'woah, woah, woah.... she heard the angelic voice, nicolette looked up and saw her, wow she was beautiful, long blonde hair pulled up into a ponytail, shiny green eyes and a gorgeous smile, nicolette was mesmerized 'are you okay?... the beautiful stranger asked

'umm yea thanks.... she said and stood up properly to face the blonde woman

'a few too many?

'something like that

'bad day?... the blonde asked

'understatement, im nicolette but everyone calls me nic

'hi im chloe, everyone calls me chloe.... they both giggled and shook hands. woah shit that spark was definitely there and her gaydar was going off. 

'ugh thanks for catching me, im a bit all over the place

'no worries, everything okay?

'just family stuff

'i know im a stranger but im a good listener

'i dont want to bother you

'its no bother, how about we get some dinner, im hungry and you need to eat

'if your sure?... nic said

'absolutely, let me go and order, what do you want?

'a burger with chips

'okay, i wont be long. you sit down... nic did so and smiled when chloe picked up her phone and handed it to her. chloe went and ordered food for them both telling shane she would be sitting with nic

'no worries chloe, she is good people but has no one

'well she has me now.... chloe smiled and went over to the table sitting down, she could see nic had a lot to drink so was glad when shane bought over some water

'where is my scotch shane?

'no more alcohol nic, water only

'ugh fine, you ruin all my fun

'you will get over it... he said playfully and the girls laughed as he walked off

'so nic are you new in town? i havent seen you around

'yea i came a couple days ago, my mum lives here and im trying to get our relationship back to something normal

'who is your mum?

'jane, jane harris

'ah yes i know jane, lives with karl and susan

'yea thats the one

'you 2 dont get along?

'i told her i was gay 10 years ago and she didnt accept me, over the years we would talk by text but end up fighting anyway, i had been travelling for some time and than settled in canberra for the last 3 years where i got a nursing job

'so you gave it up to come here?

'not exactly, ugh i hate telling anyone this but i got fired

'what happened? if you dont mind me asking..... nicolette went quiet not sure about telling chloe the story, it was embarrassing and hated herself for it, chloe sensed this and put her hand on nics arm

'hey you dont have to tell me if you dont want to

'its just that, i dont want you to hate me, what i did was bad

'nic everyone does bad stuff but its how you come out of it... nicolette nodded

'when i got to canberra i met a woman, wow she was beautiful and so out going, when we got together i found out after 5 months she was into drugs. i tried to break up with her but i just couldnt, i was so in love with her. i ended up falling into drugs as well and got addicted. it got so bad that money was extremely tight even though i was working full time at the hospital. I got desperate and at work we had a dying patient that had so much family but never came to see him. he had about a month left, he had a winning scratchy and i took it, it was for 50k. i took it and cashed it for myself. i had burned through 10k when i realized i how wrong i was, i was ashamed because i had never done anything like this before, drugs, partying, stealing. it was all so wrong. The dying man was on his last few days so i went and talked to him. 

'how did that go?... chloe asked

'he was very forgiving, i gave him the 40k i had left and promised to pay the rest to his family, he told me to pay the 10k to a charity and he forgave me. I told him i would tell my boss what i did but he told me not too, he said that he was very greatful for how i looked after him sitting by his bed day and night and making sure he had everything in the last few weeks of his life. i felt like crap. here was this nice guy giving me forgiveness i dont deserve, he died 4 days later and i was by his side. The day after his death i had a huge fight with my girlfriend and kicked her out of my apartment. i broke up with her and told her i couldnt do it anymore with the drugs, stealing and everything else. i went to work and told her i want her gone by the time i get home. at work i was all over the place and snapping at everyone. i missed the gentleman that passed, like a lost a friend, my now ex was messaging me vile things and i got worried. i went into one of the empty rooms and lost it at one of my co-workers at the smallest thing. i was fired and escorted out of the hospital. i got a job just working at a coffee shop and a bar to pay the 10k back which i did the following 4 months than i decided to come here ot repair things with my mum,  how fucked up am i?.... nicolette said and kept looking down not really wanting to see the hatred in chloe's eyes, what she didnt expect was for chloe to put her hand on her hand

'your not fucked up, you did something bad but you realized what it was and rectified it. most wouldnt do that, most would have taken off with the money and not cared

'im a bad person chloe, how do you not hate me?

'i have done my fair share of bad things trust me, did you learn from what you did?

'yes

'are you clean now?

'yes, it took time but yes i am

'good, and you paid back the money, nic you may not be an angel but your not a bad person.... there food arrived and they ate in peace, nicolette wanted to find out about chloe and her life but she was just in such a funk. chloe herself could see how down nic was so didnt want to push her, it was actually nice to sit with nicolette and not have to talk constantly like her soon to be ex pierce, ugh pierce dont even think about him right now. they finished there meals and shane came over to collect there empty plates and cups

'hey shane get me the bill please for my drinks and dinner

'no worries nic..... shane returned and gave it to her. chloe tried to take it off her

'no chloe this is my bill

'but we both ate

'so what, have seen how much a drank? its my shout as a thank you for listening to my crap

'fine but next time my shout... nicolette nodded and gave shane the money

'keep the change as your tip shane

'are you sure? its like $35

'yes you deserve it.... nicolette stood up but lost her balance as she was definitely drunk. shane caught her this time

'shit nic,  let me get you back to your place

'im good shane, i can walk... she said slurring her words

'your clearly not

'its okay shane i got her, where is she staying?

'at the hotel, are you sure your okay with her chloe?

'yea im good

'what about pierce?

'he is away for business so im on my own

'okay, if you need help call out

'i will... chloe wrapped her arm around nics waist and together they walked tot he hotel across the way, walking inside she saw ned

'neduardo which room is nicolette's?

'room 69, you need help?

'im good, can you send up cold iced water and a couple spare towels

'sure thing.... they went to the elevator and chloe pressed the floor

'how do you know where it is chloe?

'i work here, im the boss's assistant... nicolette nodded and her eye were closing  'her nic dont fall asleep yet

'im up, im up... the bell dinged and they walked out and down the hall to nics room

'where is your swipe card?

'my back pocket... chloe slid her hand in and grabbed it, she swiped the card and they went inside the room

'alright lets sit you down here the water will be here soon

'thanks chloe, your really cool and way to nice to me, i dont deserve it, my own mum hates me... nicolette said as a stray tear rolled down her cheek. chloe stood in front of her and wiped it off

'hey none of that nic, im sure your mum and you just need to sort things out slowly.... she tucked a lock of red hair behind nics ear and stroked her cheek. chloe had to admit that nicolette is so sexy, the fire red hair makes her blue eyes pop, she was attracted to her. thats okay right?.. they were left staring at each other for a minute till there was a knock on the door. chloe answered it and it was ned

'hey cho i bought some cold water, towels and aspirin, i figured she would need it

'thanks ned, hey ned this is nicolette a friend of mine

'hey nicolette

'hey neddy boy.... nic said and they laughed

'i will leave you to it but if you need anything else let me know

'will do, thanks ned... he left and chloe poured some water for nic

'here drink this.... nic did as was told and sculled the whole glass

'good, now bed.... nic stood with chloe's help and they went to the bed

'i need my pj's

'where are they?

'in my bag, shorts and shirt

'alright sit here... chloe grabbed them and bought them over  'can you dress yourself?

'yes.... chloe turned around to give the redhead privacy and once nicolette told her she was dressed she turned back around

'alright get in bed... nic slid into bed and chloe tucked her in

'will you stay for a bit? just till i fall asleep? i mean you can sleep if you want, up to you... chloe smiled

'sure i will stay for a while..... chloe sat on the bed next to nic and they stared at each other, nic fought to stay awake but she just couldnt, chloe's caring nature caused her to stroke nics' face lulling her to sleep. within 15 minutes nic was fast asleep. chloe grabbed her stuff and switched the light off on the way out, stopping to write her number down for nicolette to call her for anything. she made sure the door was closed and locked before leaving the hotel destined to return to the home she shares with pierce

elly and mark have been together for 3 years, it had been an on and off again relationship for a while till mark finally proposed, the thing that mark didnt know was on one of the times he had broken it off with elly and his sister chloe had slept together, it was a full on in secret affair that no one but them and bea who is elly's sister knew about, for 2 weeks they spent every minute together makign mad passionate love to each other. when mark came back and begged elly to forgive him she told chloe it was over and left her heart broken, a year later elly and mark married and that devastated  chloe. she had to put on a fake smile the whole time on there wedding day when deep down she was shattered, she was in love with ellie and had been for some time but ellie was too embarrassed and ashamed to admit her feelings to anyone so in the long run ended up with mark. now though after a year of marriage the couple were struggling, the chemistry they once had dwindled, they dont really talk to each other heaps and at times can be very awkward like right now. elly had been at her aunty and uncles house for dinner and returned with dessert for them both. mark worked late so couldnt go and was sitting on the couch when she got home

'hey, do you want some dessert?

'what is it?

'chocolate cake and ice cream

'oh god no, its so fattening, didnt we already talk about not eating that crap?... elly rolled her eyes as she took a bite of her sweet in the kitchen

'yes we did and i will tell you again mark that i will eat what i want to eat. your not in charge of me

'i know elly but dont you want to be healthy?

'am i unhealthy? am i fat

'well no but

'no buts mark, you do it all the time and im sick of it. Your obsession with food is becoming too much, if you want to eat healthy than go for it but im happy with what i eat

'well you better not get fat.... he said and elly scoffed

'well it will give you another reason to leave me again right..... ellie sassed out and took her sweet and walked to the front of the house needing a break from him, she was sick and tired of everything always been his way. sitting on the brick wall out the front she sighed and wondered why she even married him. they were worlds apart and had nothing in common, she head someone walking in heels and looked up to see chloe walking up the street, after the wedding it took a few months but eventually they got back to some kind of normal even though when ever they see each other they both get butterflies in there stomachs but ignore them because they both have partners. chloe saw her sitting on the brick wall as she often does and came over to her

'did you guys have another fight?

'standard right

'what happened this time?

'he told me to not get fat

'oh stop elly i cant even listen to that crap again, him and his health crap

'i know i said the same thing, wanna sit for a bit... chloe nodded and sat beside elly, after a moment chloe spoke

'are you gonna give me some?.... elly giggled and held out a fork full which chloe took.

'mm yum, susan made it?

'yes, i was there for dinner

'how are they? and bea?

'yea there good, yashvi was there as well, the girls went for a movie after dinner and i came home to grumble bum in there

'i mean i know he is my brother and all but how do you put up with it elly?

'honestly its getting harder, im married though and i dont know what to do

'just do whats best for you.... elly nodded, she heard the door open and they both turned around to see mark standing there, he was surprised to see his sister there with elly

'oh hey clo what are you doing out at this time of the night?

'im just getting home

'from work?

'went out after work with a friend

'thats cool, hey elly are you going to be long? i want to go to sleep.... elly rolled her eyes at chloe

'than go mark, i dont know how long i will be

'well i would like to go to sleep with my wife beside me.... elly groaned quietly so only chloe could hear it

'well i wont be long

'fine... he huffed and went back inside

'elly i know he is my brother but even i know he is out of line, telling you what food to eat, telling you to come to bed and im sure there are other things, do you want me to talk to him? maybe aaron can talk to him as well to calm down?

'no its okay chloe, thanks thou

'are you sure?

'yes i am, i dont want to anger him, i should go inside... they both stood and chloe hugged elly only for her to grunt when she touched her arm... chloe pulled back and lifted elly's shirt to see some bruising on her arm

'what the hell happened elly?

'its nothing im fine.... she said pulling her top down

'its not nothing, what happened?

'i fell is all, i gotta go inside.... chloe couldnt say another word because elly went back up the stairs and into the house elaving chloe worried for her, she turned and went to her own house and went inside thinking to herself 'surely mark isnt hitting her'

Nicolette woke up feeling hung over worst than ever, she looked around and saw her clothes scattered around the room but was in her pj's, she looked at her phone and sighed seeing a few texts from her mum and 2 missed phone calls, reading them she remembered what happened last night, she got into a fight with her mum again. went drinking at the waterhole and got drunk, oh and met the most beautiful woman ever, chloe. she remembers her bright eyes and beautiful smile. feeling sick she threw her legs on the side of the bed and sighed again

'i feel sick... she said to herself, she got up and went to the bathroom trying to freshen up without being sick, she came out and opened the blinds 

'too bright... she grabbed her sunnies and robe wrapping it around herself. just than there was a knock at the door so she went to answer it, she opened it to see the beautiful woman from last night, she was carrying a cup holder with 2 coffees and something in a paper bag

'your awake

'barely

'you do remember me right nic?

'of course i do chloe, come in,.... chloe strode past her and put the stuff on the small table

'how are you feeling?

'like death all warmed up... chloe giggled

'oh i know how that feels. coffee? croissant?

'coffee would be great, i cant eat anything right now 

'soon you will need to force yourself to eat to absorb the alcohol... chloe said handing her a coffee and the 2 sat on the chairs at the table

'yea i know, im so sorry i was so wasted last night, not the best first impression on people

'ah dont worry about it, i have dont it plenty of times, have you heard from your mum?

'yea lots of texts and a couple missed calls

'she is worried about you, i ran into her this morning at the coffee shop, i told her we met and you were safely at the hotel room

'thanks chloe, ugh i dont even know how to deal with her right now. i cant even handle this hang over right now and i probably stink of alcohol

'i mean yea you kinda do... they both laughed

'gee thanks, i guess i should shower 

'have your coffee first and here i bought you some aspirin.... chloe handed over the box but nicolette just couldnt open it  'i will do it.... chloe opened it and plucked out 2 tablets and handed them to nicolette. chloe's breath hitched when she felt nics hand glide against hers but shook her head of the thoughts, she was a married woman, okay it wasnt a very good marriage and when pierce came back she really wanted to end it. 

'thank you... nic took the 2 tablets and they both had there coffee and pastries  

'so whats your plan for the day nic?

'look for work, i have to go to the hospital and apply for a job

'actually i was thinking about that last night, have you got any experience with huntingtons?

'yea i do actually, i have probably had 50-60 patients over my time, why?

'my mum has, actually so do it

'oh chloe im so sorry

'thanks but im okay, mum though i want to bring her down here from adelaide and i need a nurse, you up for it? obviously i need to see all your credentials and certificates first 

'yea of course. where is she at right now? like what is her mobility?

'she is in a wheel chair, she can eat but soft things, she needs help getting up and down as well

'okay, what are the hours?

'i need a live in nurse, i have a spare room for you. i have a house in ramsey street so near your mum and maybe you 2 could work on your relationship

'i would love that, does anyone else live with you?

'for now yes. im married and my husband is away on business, well he gets back today, but he wont be there for long, im going to ask for a divorce so he will be leaving, sorry to much information.... chloe laughed nervously

'im sorry chloe, are you okay?

'yea he is just too full on, always wants to know where i am, doesnt want my family around and he always raises his voice, i cant do it anymore, so im telling him today to leave

'do you think it will go down okay?

'i dont know to be honest, but im going to have my brothers there with me to make sure it does

'okay well thats good, when does your mum come?

'asap, i want to spend time with her, we have missed out on a lot time together

'time is precious with this disease

'yea, so do you have certificates and stuff like that?

'yea let me get it.... nicolette went to her luggage and pulled out her folder  'here we go, why dont you look through it and there are some references from my last 2 jobs you can call, i will go have a shower

'okay... chloe smiled as nicolette walked into the bathroom not shy about checking out the redheads ass. she made a few phone calls to nics last jobs and they said apart from her breakdown she was a really good worker, very kind and helpful and would do anything to make the patient happy. she was stoked to bring nic into her home to help her with her mum. nic was still in the shower when her phone rang, seeing it was pierce she picked up

'hey pierce

'hey babe, where are you?

'just with a friend

'i just got home, i was hoping you would be here, i was away for a week chloe and i missed you, and im very you know... yes chloe did know, pierce always wanted sex and it was only when he wanted and it wasnt good at all

'i will be home soon pierce, give me 30 minutes

'hurry up, i cant wait to see you

'yea, bye... hanging up she called aaron

'hey sis how are you?

'im alright, hey are you busy?

'nah just sitting her with david

'i need a favor

'anything

'i dont want you to freak out but im asking pierce for a divorce

'why? what happened?

'things arent good azza, he is very controlling, raises his voice, always wants to know who i am with or what im doing. plus he has kept me away from you guys

'yea i know, i didnt want to say anything but i see it too. what do you need?

'i want you and david to be there when i tell him just in case

'do you think he will get violent?

'i dont think so but i would feel better if you 2 were there

'yes of course we will be, when?

'half an hour at my place

'sure thing

'good, now for some other news i found a live in nurse so im going to call tyler to organize mum to come and stay with me for a while

'thats great chloe, i cant wait to see her and we should all spend as much time as we can with her

'exactly, so im going to try and get her here tomorrow if your good with that?

'absolutely sis. it will be great to have her here, she loves being here

'yea i know, oh i gotta go aaza but i will see you soon?

'25 minutes chloe

'thanks.... she hung up as she saw nicolette coming out of the bathroom a towel wrapped around her body and her fire red hair dripping wet. jesus this woman is trying to kill me, she looks so damn sexy right now. nicolette smiled

'i forgot my clothes

'mind all over the place ay

'yea something like that

'well i am happy to officially offer you the job nicolette

'really?

'yes, so you in?

'100%, im so excited

'me too, so i have to go and sort some stuff out but you can move in later tonight?

'sure

'do you need help?

'i should be okay

'alright, lets exchange numbers and i will call you when im all set up at home

'sounds good.... they exchanged numbers and chloe left to go home and deal with pierce. nicolette got dressed and decided to start packing her stuff and clean the bomb site of a room as she made a big mess

Arriving into the street chloe saw aaron and david waiting out the front so she hugged them

'thanks for coming guys

'of course chloe, we are here for you for anything

'thanks david, so i have divorce papers that toadie made up for me, the house is mine so im going to tell him to leave. 

'thats a good idea. you ready sis?

'i hope so.... they went inside the house and chloe put her stuff down

'pierce im home

'babe where have you been? i been waiting ages.... he said coming out of the bedroom not realizing the boys were there  'oh david, aaron what are you doing here?

'i invited them over

'why?.... aaron raised his eyebrow

'because we are her brothers... aaron snapped, wondering why pierce was even asking why her own family was over

'well i wanted to spend some time with chloe, alone

'yea well i wanted them here, pierce we need to talk

'what about?

'come and sit down at the table

'do they need to be here for this?

'yes they do.... the couple sat down at the table while david and aaron stood in the kitchen watching on, chloe had her bag beside her with the papers in it ready to give them to pierce, she took a big breath

'pierce this isnt working for me

'what isnt?

'us, i dont want to be married to you anymore

'what? why?

'i have my reasons and i think you know those reasons pierce, we have fought non stop about the way you treat me and im done with it

'so what you wont even give me a chance?

'i gave 2 chances before or did you forget that, the last time thou you got lucky, you put hands on me 

'what the fuck? what the hell did you do to my sister?... aaron fumed having being held back by david

'aaron its okay, it wasnt that bad but he apologized for it and i forgave him, but since that happened he hasnt done anything. anyways passed that lets move on, i want a divorce pierce... she said pulling out the papers from her bag and handing them to him

'divorce papers? you cant do this chloe, we arent meant to be together

'no we arent, i checked out of this marriage a while ago and you know that

'no i didnt

'well than your delusional to think im happy pierce,  im not happy and i want you to leave

'and go where?

'pierce you have so much money you can go and find your own place or get a room in the hotel

'chloe we are happy together.... pierce said standing up and towering over the table  'your mine... aaron snapped and grabbed pierce pushing him and causing him fall on his ass

'go and pack your shit and leave pierce, you were supposed to look after my sister but you clearly didnt, you treated her like some house wife and worst of all you put hands on her, its done. pack your shit and leave... pierce looked over at chloe who was standing by david

'chloe dont do this

'its done, i want a divorce and nothing will change my mind

'david can you take chloe to our house till pierce leaves

'sure, come on chloe.... chloe and david walk past but pierce tried to reach other for the chloe's leg but david moved her away and aaron grabbed pierce and pulled him away from them

'what the fuck is wrong with you pierce? dont you dare fucking touch her, david, chloe go... they left the house and went to the boys house leaving aaron there. pierce complained the whole time as he was packing some of his stuff and aaron just told him to shut up and leave, when pierce left aaron called mark and told him what happened so if pierce comes to him about chloe to make sure he has her back to which he said he would. once he was done with mark he called someone to come change the locks on the doors so pierce couldnt get in anymore. the guy came and changed them and aaron was given the keys so locked up and went to his own place. walking in david and chloe were sitting on the couch talking with a coffee

'hey guys, you doing alright sis?

'yea im okay, im not surprised how he acted, he is very self obsessed so thinks if  he is happy and so am i

'well he is gone now and i got your locks changed, here are the keys, there is front and back, 2 spare

'thanks guys, i really appreciate you being there for me

'anytime sis, i spoke to mark and told him what happened in case pierce goes to him to complain

'good. shit i have to call nicolette the nurse. i spoke to tyler and he booked for mum to travel here tomorrow

'what time does she get here?

'at 1.30

'how about david and i pick her up and bring her to yours?

'thats would be great azza, gives me time to set up everything

'awesome, so do you want to stay for dinner?

'no thanks, im going to get the new nurse and get her moved in 

'alright, if you need us we are just across the road

'thanks.... chloe walked out of the boys house and called nicolette

'hey chloe

'hey nic you all packed up and ready to come over?

'sure am, can you send me your address please

'i will, you sure your okay to bring your stuff?

'i should be fine to get a taxi, but can you meet me out the front in ten minutes?

'sure nic, see you soon..... chloe went home and entered double checking all the rooms to make sure pierce was gone. had taken a couple bags of his stuff so chloe would need to pack the rest, ten minutes later she heard a beep and went outside seeing nicolette coming out of the taxi

'so happy your here nic

'me too. my bags are in the boot.. they grabbed the few bags and headed inside

'how did you get all these bags to the taxi yourself?

'ned was there, i remembered him from last night, he helped me

'he is a good guy

'yea he seems it

'well this is my home, let me take you to your room first, it has a bed, cupboard, tv and a couple side draws

'its perfect chloe thanks.... they put nics bags in the room and went to the kitchen

'nice house

'thanks, i bought it before i got married, my dad died and he was a dead beat father but he had a huge insurance so it was split between us kids, i decided to buy a house so i bought this one

'its really nice chloe

'well let me give you the grand tour, lounge room, dining room, bathroom just near our rooms, kitchen here as you can see, laundry just through there and you go out that door to the backyard and there is a pool that you can use whenever you want

'cool

'so how about i make some dinner and you can unpack?

'i can unpack whenever, i know you were going to serve your husband with divorce papers, how about we order some dinner and chat, if you want?

'i think you should know just in case he turns up here for any reason, so sure, chinese?

'sounds good

'okay, i will order and you unpack some stuff.... 45 minutes later they were on the couch eating dinner and chloe explained everything to nicolette about her relationship from the start

'so he was controlling?

'yea and he didnt want my family around, i have 3 brothers and one is married so a guy so 4 brothers and he didnt want them around, he hated when i talked to my others brothers wife elle as well

'is he insecure?

'yes, i told her about moving here and the new job so she is happy about that, it wont be easy trying to have a relationship with her but we will try

'thats good..... after they finished eating they cleaned up and headed to bed. nicolette told chloe she will organize the house in the morning so its wheelchair bound and not to worry about her mum, she would be there to support her and her mum fey

It was 4am when chloe was woken by a banging in the kitchen, she got up and wrapped the robe around herself and went there wondering if it was pierce. it wasnt, it was nicolette who was on the floor picking up some bowls

'nic.... the redhead looked up

'shit sorry i woke you chloe

'its alright, are you okay?

'yea i just couldnt sleep so i was going to make a hot chocolate but when i pulled out the little pot it all fell out, sorry

'its all good nic, i have been meaning to organize the kitchen properly

'you go back to bed chloe, i will be more quiet

'no no im up now, let me help make some hot chocolate.... chloe made the hot chocolate while nicolette picked up the rest of the stuff and packed them away

'here we go, lets sit on the couch and put the heater on its bloody cold.... nic nodded and they sat down with there hot drinks, chloe put the tv on and the heater

' why couldnt you sleep?

'i just get nervous in a new place until im more comfortable, i have always been like that

'i get it, is there anything i can do to make you more relaxed?

'no but thanks chloe, i just need to get used to my new surroundings

'makes sense, hows the bed? doesnt get used much

'its great, its doing my back good

'good to hear, should we watch tv for a bit?

'sure... they watched tv for a little bit and finished there drinks, nicolette started dozing off and within a few minutes of putting her cup down she was asleep leaning on chloe's shoulder. the blonde smiled and helped nicolette lay down on the couch properly and pulled the blanket over her before going to her own bed. she left on the kitchen light just in case nic got up again.

The next morning chloe woke at about 9.30, she had a shower and put on jeans and a top than went out to the lounge room to see nicolette moving things around

'what are you doing nic?

'moving things around to make sure there is room for your mum to get around, i baked cookies and a red velvet cake for your mum and your brothers to welcome her. I set up her room the way she needs it so its easier to move around, i will show you how it all works dont worry chloe

'your a life saver, i wouldnt be able to do it without you, im nervous having mum here so, i dont want to do anything wrong

'happy to help, dont worry you will get the hang of it, now i made a pot of coffee, want one?

'would love one but i will get it, what else is there to do?... chloe asked as she poured herself a mug

'lets see, we need a shower chair and a few railings put in around the house, we need a bar handle put in for the pool. its warm weather and swimming is great to keep the muscles active

'mum loves swimming so thats good, where do i get this stuff from?

'bunnings has it all, how about we go after your coffee and i shower? 

'sure.... nicolette showered and got dressed, when she came out of the room chloe's nostrils were full of the redheads perfume and wow was it nice. oh what she would do to take the redhead in her arms and ravish her soft milky neck. shaking her head of these thoughts she grabbed her  keys

'ready to go nic?

'yes, i have a list of what we need so lets jet, oh and how about you invite your brothers and partners over for a welcome dinner for your mum? i will cook something special

'that would be great, do you mind texting while i drive?.... chloe said handing over her phone as they got in the car

'sure thing..... nicolette sent a text to mark, elly, aaron and david

'hey all since mum is coming here today how about dinner at my place at 6? you can also meet mums new nurse. let me know asap please, peace out..... chloe dictated as she was driving

'alright its sent, oh you got a text from pierce. 

'can you read it for me please

'are you sure chloe? i dont want to get in the middle of this

'its fine, i have told you everything, in fact your the only one that knows everything

'alright... nic opened the text and read

'chloe i cant believe your doing this to me, to us. we are so good together and you messed it up. so what if i raise my voice or get a bit rough with you. its not a big deal. chloe you cant divorce me, i want you. call me..... 

'wow he realy thinks acting like he does is normal? sorry you have to deal with him chloe

'its okay, once the divorce is final i can be rid of him. he can say what he wants im done with him

'good. what should i write back to him?

'write back 'sign the papers because im done'.... nicolette did so and handed chloe her mobile after telling her all the family will be coming for dinner....they got out of the car and went inside the big store got what was on the list, chloe also decided to get a nice outdoor setting for the backyard to entertain, pierce has all this money but he didnt want an outdoor setting because he didnt want people over. 

'anything else you need chloe?

'i really want to get a new bed, i dont want to keep sleeping on the one i shared with pierce

'makes sense. there is a bedding place next door so we can get all this tuff and go there

'good idea.... chloe paid and organized delivery of the outdoor setting for today at some time. they put everything in the car and went next door to the bedding place. chloe choosing a sled bed with a nice pillowtop mattress, delivery was for tomorrow and when finished they left and went home. unloading the stuff chloe asked ned to come around to help install the handles and stuff around the house... at 12 ned left after chloe tried to pay him money but he refused it saying its a favor for a friend. nicolette made a couple sandwiches and they sat down to eat lunch

'ya think we have everything?

'absolutely, your mum will be comfortable

'good, i still need to do some food shopping, i havent dine it in a while because i have been busy. 

'well your mum will be here in 2 hours so we can go and do a shop, or you can go on your own, up to you

'i would prefer if you came with me if you dont mind?

'of course.... they went and did a shop and unpacked all the food, nicolette had chosen some special foods and snacks that would be easy for fey to digest. 20 minutes after they unpacked there was a knock on the door and it opened

'mum im so happy to see you... chloe said

'hello darling girl, give me a hug... chloe bent down and hugged her mum, holding her for a little longer considering how long it had been since she saw her, pulling back she kissed her mums cheek

'i want you to meet someone mum? and you too aaron and david, now this here is nicolette also known as nic. she is a nurse and friend and here to help you for anything you need

'oh you didnt need to do that chloe

'i wanted to, i dont know much about how to do this so nic will help.... fey looked at nic and smiled, aaron pushed the wheel chair in and fey put her hand out

'nice to meet you nic

'nice to meet you too miss brennan

'oh please call me fey

'okay fey, how about you come to the table, chloe made some tea and a few snacks

'that would be great.... as aaron pushed the chair over tot he table and got her comfortable

'hi im aaron chloe's brother and this cutie is david my husband

'nice to meet you both, please sit down with your mum and sister

'thanks.... they sat down and talked nicolette moving around the house unpacking feys belongings and every now and than she would be pulled into the conversation. 

'so chloe how are you doing? aaron told me about pierce

'im okay mum, im glad he is gone and very greatful to have aaron and david as support

'there good boys, im glad you guys are around

'of course, gotta look after little elliot.... chloe rolled her eyes at her childhood nickname

'anyways nic has been great to talk to as well. i have good support

'thats good darling..... nicolette picked up that fey was struggling 

'hey fey how about a nap?... nic rubbed the older womans shoulders

'oh yes please nic, im very tired

'alright lets get you in bed, you got a big dinner with your kids tonight

'okay, i will see you tonight my loves

'okay mum we are going to go

'bye aaron, bye david... the boys left and chloe stood up, nic nodded at her to follow to see how to get her mum into bed. they did it together and chloe pulled the blanket up

'mum if you need anything just call out, otherwise we will get you up in a couple hours

'okay my darling girl.... chloe came out of the room to see nic cleaning up the kitchen from there snacks and drinks

'i will do it nic

'no its okay chloe, i have to prep for dinner anyways, the guys are coming soon with the outdoor stuff so why dont you go and clean the area and make room

'good idea actually..... the guys came not long later and set it all up for the blonde woman, chloe signed to say she got it and they left, going back inside 

'do you need any help nic?

'no thanks im good chloe, you should sit down and relax on the couch, im nearly done so i will join you

'okay... nic finished and cleaned up than joined chloe handing her a glass of wine

'thanks, how about you?

'still on duty, gotta have a clear head till your mums in bed tonight, plus after my night a couple days ago i might not have any for a while... chloe giggled

'you were funny, you nearly fell over

'yea i tend to be clumsy when i drink sometimes, than as you know i tell my whole life story... nicolette rolled her eyes

'im glad you told me, yes you did some stupid stuff but you got your shit together 

'yea true, i have a job, a place to stay with a pool mind you, living the life... they both laughed loving being in each others company

Chapter Text

The family were all sitting around the table and nicolette had just served them dinner, it was chloe, her mum, aaron, davie, elly and mark. chloe frowned at elly as the woman seemed quiet and since the other day when she saw the bruise on elly's arm she had been worried about her. she would suss it out through out the night and hopefully get some time alone with elly. chloe smiled as nicolette filled up her glass with more wine

'thanks nic, come and sit with us

'no no you guys enjoy, i have to make a phone call anyways... chloe nodded and watched as nicolette took a plate of food and went out the back sitting at the new table to eat. she pulled out her phone and called an old friend just to check in on them

Inside they were all enjoying there meal

'hey chloe nic seems nice.... said mark

'yea she is, she is a great help, i didnt even ask for her to make dinner she just did it, i try and help but she wouldnt let me

'well in her defense you cant really cook chloe.... they all laughed at aaron's remark

'hey i will have you know i can make eggs on toast

'it aint all that hard sis.... they all snickered. 

'oh whatever az, anyway elly how is work? school keeping you busy?

'yea always busy, the work never stops but i love it

'your a great teacher, the kids love ya... elly smiled

'i tell her she doesnt need to work, she could stay home and i will look after her, i make plenty of money... said mark proudly, chloe and aaron shared looks

'mark people like to work, elly is great at her job and is a very loved teacher so just let her be... mark shrugged

'whatever, anyways mum how have you been?.... he asked and the conversation went on from there. chloe was worried, she saw how elly barely spoke, how mark put his arm around her but not in a loving way, more a possession kind of way. they finished dinner and aaron and david cleaning up leaving nicolette to relax after a long day, they had some dessert 

'hey elly come outside lets sit with nic for a bit... elly nodded and picked up her plate

'okay... she followed chloe outside and they sat at the table, nic wasnt on the phone anymore just relaxing with a cup of tea and some cake

'hope you dont mind us joining you nic, its getting crowded in there

'course not, how was dinner?

'so good, thanks for cooking

;anytime, i will clean up in a bit

'aaron and david already did, dont worry about it, you must be tired?

'a little but im okay.... it was silent for a moment and chloe really needed to figure out elly, she was staring into her plate ignoring everyone most of the night

'elly whats going on with you?

'hmm nothing

'yes there is, you have been quiet all night barely looked at anyone, only ate half your food and now playing with your dessert, after what i saw the other day im worried

'its nothing chloe

'please stop saying that and talk to me, your my best friend, elly i saw the bruises, is mark hitting you?..... an awkward silence fell upon the 3 girls, chloe looked at nicolette worried

'hey elly i knw you dont know me but im here to help if you need it, chloe here is really worried about you, mark is her brother and your best friend, she doesnt want to see you hurt... the red head said and laid a hand on the brunet's hand

'i..i..... elly started but stopped unsure of herself which is far from who this woman was

'elly take a breath and talk to us, please.... chloe begged

'it started 6 months ago, it was just a push or shove to start with

'when did it get more physical?

'about 4 months ago, he slapped me, he apologized over and over again and i forgave him but he did it again and again. 

'what else?

'he calls me fat, tells me i have to eat healthy food all the time, doesnt want me to see anyone not even you chloe. he hits me a few times a weeks, pushes me so hard i fall. today he pushed me because i took too long in the shower before coming here and i fell and landed on my hand

'show me.... chloe put her hand out and elly winced as she put her hand in chloe's. nic pulled her sleeve up and grimaced, it was really purple and clearly hurt

'you need to go to the hospital elly, it might be broken

'i cant go, he will flip out, he will lose it if her knew i told you both, omg he is going to go crazy... elly said and tars rolled down her cheeks

'hey hey its okay elly, you  are safe with us

'i cant do this chloe.... ally said and leaned her head on chloe's shoulder and cried, the woman just broke down and cried

'hey i got you okay, we will get you away from him, i cant believe he is doing this. i never thought he would be like this

'me neither... elly whispered. she had completely fallen out of love with mark since he became abusive. chloe rubbed her back

'listen first we need to get you to a hospital. chloe isnt david a doctor there?

'yes he is

'we need to bring him in on this, maybe say elly has been really sick out here and needs to go to the hospital, we can take her and david can come with us and we can explain the situation... nicolette said

'what if mark wants to come to the hospital?.... elly asked

'he has wokr early, i will tell him nic and i will come with you because he has work early and needs to sleep

'i dont know if he will go for it chloe

'we need to make it believable.... nicolette tipped some water on her hand and splotched it on elly's face  'you look like your sweating, chloe go get david

'okay, you will be okay with nic for a moment elly,,, she nodded and nic held elly's good hand for support, chloe went inside 

'hey david, elly isnt feeling well can you come check her out please?

'yea if course, i wont be long.... he followed chloe outside and crouched in front of elly

'hey elly whats going on?

'i feel nauseous, i have a headache and i feel dizzy

'your sweating as well, why dont we get you to the hospital to get you checked out... he said rubbing her hand and she flinched, he frowned and lifted her sleeve and his eyes went wide

'not here... chloe said as mark came out side and david nodded

'hey elly you okay?

'she may have a bug mark, im going to take her to the hospital to get checked out

'oh well i will come too

'no mark you have work early, go get some rest, nic and i will go with her

'what about mum?

'aaron will stay with mum, dont worry mark... chloe replied

'oh okay than, well get better and i will see you when you get back... elly nodded and mark walked inside to go home

'that was too close

'girls whats going on?

'david we will tell you but not here... nicolette said rubbing elly's back, the woman seemed exhausted

'okay lets get you to the hospital... he helped elly up and with chloe's help they walked through the house, mark was already gone

'hey we are taking elly to the hospital, boo can you stay with your mum?

yea of course, me and mum have lots of catching up to do

'yes we do son, hope you feel better elly

'thanks fay

'i will call you boo

'okay boo boo.... fay smiled at the cute nicknames the boys had for each other. they walked out of the house and piled into davids car, chloe was in the back with elly leaning on her shoulder

'thank you... elly whispered

'i got you.... and thats the thing, elly knew chloe always had her back. as they drove david called ahead to clear out a room for him and a patient coming in, they arrived and walked inside going to the room allocated for him

'alright elly on the bed please and i want to know everything... while elly got comfy nicolette told david what elly told them and what had happened today

'wow i could never think that of him, im sorry elly

'its okay

'do i have permission to do a full body check?

'umm yea, i just... she said and stopped, chloe grabbed her good hand and ran her fingers through her hair

'david will look after you

'do you want me to get  a woman doctor elly?

'no no i would rather you, i just, hurt... david nodded

'i will be gentle

'okay... elly whispered. david was shocked to find bruising on elly;s stomach, arms, back and legs

'elly you should have come to us, this is not right

'i was so scared david, he told me if i told anyone about what was going on it would be worse for me, i dont know how he changed into this guy

'your okay now elly, we will get you the help you need... nic said rubbing elly's leg

'thanks nic, i really appreciate you being here especially when you dont even know me

'and you came through it?

'yea i did, your strong elly, you will get through this...... elly sadly smiled

'alright elly we will do an x-ray for your wrist but everything else seems to be just bruising

'thats good, can the girls come to x-ray with me? i dont want to be on my own?

'of course... half an hour later they were back in the room..... 'so elly its a sprained wrist so i will wrap it and it should heal in 14 days

'thanks, i need to get home, i cant be gone too long

'oh your not going home elly... chloe said

'what?

'this ends tonight,  you will come home with us and stay with us

'i cant do that chloe

'you can and you will, elly this is not right, the situation is dangerous

'you have no room at your place, you have nicolette, your mum, hendrix is due back in a few days as well

'we will make it work, right nic?

'absolutely, i can share with whoever, im not fussed, elly its just till we figure things out

'are you girls sure?

'yes... they both said in unison

'thank you

'good, i will talk to aaron when we get back, he needs to know and tomorrow we will come around and figure out what to do....david said and they all nodded. david wrapped her wrist and gave her a box of pain killers to take home with her than they headed back to chloe's house, chloe could see both nicolette and elly were exhausted, the day/ night clearly taking a toll on them. they arrived home and went inside aaron was watching tv

'hey guys, you feeling alright elly?... he asked than frowned when he saw her hand bandaged  'what happened?

'boo we need to talk, where is your mum?

'tucked away in bed fast asleep

'okay good, lets go home and leave the girls to rest

'but elly

'i will explain everything

'umm okay... he took davids hand and they left the house

'alright elly do you want to sleep on your own or with someone?... nic asked

'do you girls mind if im on my own? i just really need to be on my own

'of course, nic and i will share or i can sleep on the couch

'of course we can share chloe, come on lets get elly tucked in... chloe lent elly trackies and a t-shirt and she got into chloe's bed, the girls gave her a pain killer and elly had fallen asleep pretty quickly, nicolette and chloe got changed and slid into nics bed, chloe chuckled

'what?

'the bed smells like you

'is that bad?

'no you smell nice, really nice... chloe said turning on her side as did nicolette

'thanks, how you feeling after today?

'im glad elly finally told us whats going on, i need to discuss with the boys tomorrow what to do next

'good idea... nicolette said and yawned  'sorry that was rude

'its fine your tired, your eyes are red.... chloe said stroking the side of the redheads face

'yea i am, im okay though, apart from that situation how was dinner with your family?... chloe smiled as nicolette tried to fight to stay awake

'im really glad we did it, mum is so happy to be back here but im not sure how she will take the whole situation with mark and elly

'your mums strong just be up front with her, dont keep her in the dark

'i will tell her everything tomorrow

'hmmmm...... nicolette said as she fell asleep. chloe pulled the quilt up over them both and she too fell asleep

The next day chloe woke to an empty bed, she yawned and stretched out before grabbing her phone to check the time her eyes going wide when she saw 11.15

'shit... she got out of bed and put her robe on before going out to the lounge room seeing her mum and nicolette talking

'sorry nic, i didnt mean to sleep in

'its all good, your mum and i were just talking about each others lives

'elly?

'she got up earlier and i made her something to eat, she was still really tired and sore so had a shower and went back to bed... chloe pouted and looked at her mum unsure what excuse to use about elly being here

'i know everything darling, we will talk dont worry

'how mum?

'mark came over earlier flipping out that elly didnt come home, nic told him to buzz off and someone will call him later, her got a little pushy with nic but i told him to pull his head in so he left, nicolette told me whats happened

'hope you dont mind chloe? your mum wanted to know and i couldnt exactly hide it

'its fine, im glad you know mum... chloe said pinching the bridge of her nose

'headache?

'yea

'some sit with your mum and i will get you some aspirin..... chloe say with her mum and nicolette went into the kitchen, she made some sandwiches and coffee for lunch and grabbed a water and tablets putting it all on the tray and taking it to the lounge room

'here we go, hopefully once you eat and take the tablets it will help... nicolette said rubbing chloe's back

'im going to check on elly, you 2 alright here?

'were good love.... nic took the sandwich she kept for elly and a bottle of water than went to the bedroom, she knocked and opened the door seeing elly was awake and just laying down

'hey i bought you some lunch

'thanks nic... elly said sitting up with her back against the headboard and began eating

'how are you feeling?

'i bit lost to be honest, mark hasnt stopped calling and texting me, i had to put my phone on silent

'its probably for the best, can i sit?

'please... nicolette sat beside elly, it was the first time she really took a look around chloe's room, she giggled

'whats so funny?

'only chloe would have a big sombrero hat on her wall.... elly smiled

'she is a weird woman, look she even had a lei around the photo there.... elly pointed out

'i havnt known her long but she is great

i havnt seen her today yet but she was in a bad way last night, mum elly and i have been friends for years, best friends at that and she was so broken. i cant believe mark would do this

'me neither darling, i spoke to aaron earlier and he wanted to go over to marks and deck him but i told him not too and that he needs help

'yea i does mum but how? how do we do all this?... fay saw the worried look on her daughters face

'dont you worry darling i have a plan, firstly call aaron, david and mark, tell them i want to see them all today here at 4.30

'alright... chloe helped elly up and elly left the room

'im going to go hang the washing up,,, nicolette said but chloe grabbed her hand

'no your not, im on strict instructions from mum that you need to rest

'im fine chloe... she shivered when chloe held her hand and stroked her wrist with her thumb

'your tired, you have barely rested in the last few days, so come on lets go to your room

'nope... pulling nicolette with her they went to her bedroom, chloe pushed nic to sit down and she pulled the redheads shoes and jacket off. nicolette had to close her eyes as she inhaled chloe's incredible scent, the tall blonde always smelled good but having her standing between nics legs and so close made her body tremble, chloe's fingers grazed her skin on her arms as she pulled the jacket off. god she wanted chloe so bad, how could she want her so bad when they dont even know each other well

chloe herself felt tingles when nicolette put her hands on her waist to tight up chloe's robe. she did it so softly that chloe hummed in delight, she looked down into the redheads eyes and smiled, the spark was there, it shot through them like never before with anyone else. chloe couldnt stop herself but lean down and her lips landed on nicolette's, there lips moved together like they had been doing this for years. nicolette pulled chloe down in her lap and the blonde woman wrapped her legs around nic. arms touching and feeling each other as there tongues fought for dominance. they had to pull apart to breath and leaned there foreheads together

'wow... nicolette said

'good wow or bad?

'definitely good, where did that even come from chloe?

'i just felt it and went for it, are you upset? should i not have done it?

'no no im glad you did, i have wanted ti kiss you since you caught my drunk ass in the pub... chloe giggled

'you were pretty drunk but you were so cute

'ugh stop... nic said burying her red face in chloe's neck

'nope sorry cant help it.... it was silent for a while till nic kisses chloe's neck

'if you keep doing that nic i wont be able to hold back... they both giggled

'couldnt help myself, what does this mean chloe?.... before she could answer they heard fay calling out for them

'we should go to mum

'ah yea... they both stood up and made sure to look decent before leaving the room

'hey mum everything alright?..... elly smirked when she saw nics swollen lips and the blush to follow, chloe didnt realize but nic sure did

'all good my darling but could i ask you to go out and get a sweet of some sort for when the boys come over?

'sure mum

'and take elly to karl and susans for now till we sort things out

'really?

'yea chloe, your mum has a way to sort this out but i shouldnt be here when they come over, especially because of mark

'you will come back though?

'yes i will after there gone, i have spoken to karl and susan and told them everything and bea as well, there waiting for me

'alright lets get you there

'chloe you go and i will get your mum down for a nap

'okay thanks... chloe smiled and than helped elly with her stuff and left.

Mark had arrived at chloe's house to see chloe, fay, aaron and david there. nicolette was in the kitchen making tea for everyone

'mark come and sit by me... fay said as she patted the couch and he obliged

'how are you mum? are you doing okay?

'i am darling, nicolette and chloe have been amazing

'thats good... nicolette came over with a tray and david helped her put it down, she poured tea for them all and left the sweets in the middle

'no i just wanted to drop this off, i got aunty susan to get a few things for you both.... elly handed over the bags and looks inside, one bag had a few home cooked meals and the other 2 had some snacks and a couple bottles of wine

'okay considering, i got toadie to file for divorce with mark, even if he does get help i cant forgive him

The next day nicolette was in a lot of pain, she didnt want to show it as she knew that chloe was already blaming herself for what happened, chloe collected the washing from outside and was sitting on the couch folding it and putting it in the right places, nicolette was in the kitchen making a sandwich even though chloe told her she would do it. there was a knock on the door so chloe answered it

'hi david, come in

'hey chloe, i just came to check on nicolette

'oh yea she is in the kitchen not listening to me as usual.... david smiled as nicolette scolded the blonde smiling woman

'yea i can see that, hey nic come sit down so i can check you over please

''but im making lunch and im hungry... she sulked

'it wont take long, i can take you back to the hospital if you want?

'ah, no no here is fine.... she put down the knife she was buttering the bread with and hobbles over to the couch sitting down

'alright im just going to check your head and vision than your body if you dont mind?

'sure.... david did it slowly knowing how much pain the young girl was in, when he lifted her shirt to see her back chloe winced when she saw 80% of her back was covered in bruising

'alright nic how does your back feel?

'its fine david, im good

'really? so you can stand up straight? 

'well no, not exactly. i just, its fine nothing to worry about

'have you had a shower today?

'not yet, i dont know how too... she whispered not wanting chloe to hear as she was embarrassed, but chloe did hear and stop folding the clothes

'nic i will help you shower, i will help you do anything you need. its the least i could do considering its my fault

'chloe i dont know how many time i have to say it to you but its not your fault, the fault lies with pierce and only him, so what i have a bit of bruising, im all good

'anytime. now nicolette i want you to try have a bath if you can. it will help the bruising go down as well as relax your muscles and body overall

'alright now thats done im going to go get some lunch for aaron and your mum, do you girls need anything?

'no thanks, elly came past last night with a couple home cooked meals and some food from the shops so we are good

'i sure did, come on lets get you undressed.... chloe gently undressed the redhead and laid soft kisses around her body, nicolette smiled at chloe's careness. chloe helped nicolette into the bathtub and with some groans got her to sit down

'i will just be in the lounge room, call me when your ready to get out

'no i really dont, please.... chloe couldnt say no even if she wanted to which she didnt, she stripped her own clothes and slid in behind nic and the redhead laid back gently but moved so she was on her side as not to feel too much pain her head landing on chloe's chest

'absolutely nic..... the bath really was soothing, chloe gently and softly ran her fingers all over the redheads body, back, neck, chest, stomach. anywhere she could reach  to lull the beautiful woman in her arms, holding nic like this felt so amazing, the woman oozed sexiness and gentleness all at the same time. chloe reached for the body was and washed them both down the best they could, the water was soapy anyways but a little extra couldnt help, she watched as nic snuggled into her body as she felt so comfortable, it was quiet for some time just the music playing in the backround as she stroked nics hair, she realised that nicolette fell asleep

''okay... chloe got us and put a towel around herself before lifting nicolette up and out of the tub, the poor woman moaned in pain and chloe saw tears roll down her cheeks, a towel wrapped around her and chloe hugged her

'alright lets get dressed and lay down... nicolette nodded and they went to chloe's room. they both got dressed into shorts and a shirt and slid into chloe's bed

'please chloe... once nicolette too the tablets chloe joined her in the bed, nic laying her head on chloe's chest and wrapping an arm around her waist

'i do feel more relaxed after the bath

'im sure you do, i mean you fell asleep... nicolette giggled

'yea sorry about that, i guess being in your arms relaxes me... chloe smiled and kissed her on the head

'there getting there, i still ache and probably will for another week but chloe here has been amazing to look after me... chloe smiled

'im doing okay, toadie filed for divorce and mark was served yesterday. my hand is feeling much better and im starting to feel somewhat normal

'thats really good to here elly, so whats the plans moving forward?

'going back to teaching in a week. im going to move in permanently with karl, susan and bea and hopefully just move on with my life

'well do you want to have dinner with us and hang out, maybe watch a movie and spend the night here?

'okay... nicolette hobbled to the room and laid on her stomach, chloe came in a few minutes later and lifted the redhead's shirt putting it directly to her skin causing nic to moan

'of course... chloe sat on the bed and pattered her lap and nic laid her head there as they watched there show together

Later that day elly had just turned up and was set up in nicolette's room as the redhead had been sleeping with chloe and even though they didnt want people knowing about there budding relationship elly knew about them so they didnt need to hide it, currently the new couple were bickering about what to have for dinner rustling with the food menus in there hands

'baby i dont want pizza, i really want either chinese or thai food, please chloe... she fluttered those beautiful eyes at the blonde woman

'but i want pizza or burgers

'ugh, fine let elly choose... they both looked at the brunette woman and she raised an eyebrow at there faces

'how am i supposed to choose? i dont care what we eat

'sounds good to me, i will order chinese and you order pizza or burgers or whatever you wanted to get

'okay... both girls placed there orders and they all sat around chatting for 45 minutes till the orders arrived, chloe kissed nic on the cheek and went tot he kitchen to get plates, cutlery and drinks returning to eat with elly and nic

'thanks for having me over girls, its good to just hang out with all the questioning about not coming forward earlier and crap like that

'happy to have you elly, your family just worry about you and are kicking themselves for not picking it up earlier

'yea i guess so, anyways are we going to watch a movie?

'okay, after we eat i will have a shower and than we can settle down to watch a movie together

'sounds good nic..... they finished dinner and nicolette went for a shower while the other 2 packed away the left overs and settled down for the movie, nic joined them huffing in pain when she sat down

'yea baby, just a little sore

'do you want pain killers?

'no otherwise i will fall asleep soon, maybe later, alright lets put the movie on.... they decided on 'more beautiful for having been broken', the couple snuggled up on the longer couch and elly was on the 2 seater with her legs stretched out. Throughout the movie she saw how cute chloe and nic were together, every now and than they would smile at each other, share a soft kiss, link there hands, feed each other a snack of some sort they had laid out, now it was nearing the end of such an incredible movie and nicolette was practically laying with her back to chloe's front with her head on chloe's shoulder, it was beautiful to see and she loved seeing how happy chloe was. when she and chloe were trying to figure out there own feelings they had 2 weeks of just making love to each other, although elly just couldnt get passed the whole gay/bisexual situation so in the end they decided to be just friends which worked out well for them, unfortunately elly married mark who ended up being abusive but now she is out of that situation she was getting happier. she didnt care that she was single. she had incredible people around her supporting her and being there for her. smiling to herself she finished off the movie with the girls

'what a great movie

'yea it was elly

'oh nic fell asleep

'yea it normally happens within 20 minutes of taking the pain killers, i better get her to bed

'alright well i might head to bed as well

'me too, night chloe.... chloe moved to stand with a half asleep nic leaning into her body

'come on beautiful.... chloe whispered and they walked together to chloe's room and nic got into bed mumbling

'get used to it... chloe said and kissed her cheek, chloe closed up the house and joined nicolette in bed falling asleep. unbeknown to any of them someone had been watching them the last couple days, he had been sneaking around the house and following them when they left the house to the shops that one time.

2 days later chloe took nicolette to the hospital to take out the stitches on her head. david was working which was very helpful for them, they were sitting in davids exam room while he prepped the equipment

'alright nic this might hurt but i will be as gentle as i can

'okay.... chloe sat next to her on the bed and grabbed her hand

'its okay im here for you

'thanks chloe.... it took 10 minutes to get the stitches out and it definitely hurt because nics hair got stuck on the needle. 

'sorry nic, how does it feel now its out?

'much better, thanks david

'anytime, hows the back?

'still sore but getting there, chloe has been great.... she smiled at the blonde who smiled back at her. david looked between them and frowned

'hold on, are you two together?.... the girls looked at each other nervously, they wanted to keep it quiet for a little while at least

'well yes we are, but we havnt told anyone david

'why not? as long as your both happy thats what matters

'we are happy but things are complicated, pierce, divorce and now mums here as well, its not easy

'i know chloe but you should at least tell aaron and your mum

'common chloe sit down with your mum... chloe smiled and sat down taking the offered plate

'im not hungry, here fey let me help you.... nic cut up the sandwich into really small pieces, although they were small she could chew but wasnt able to swallow. 

'mum you alright?

'i cant seem to swallow it

'here lets try some water... nic handed the older woman some water and again she could barely swallow it causing it to dribble down her chin

'its alright i got it, hey chloe let me talk to you in the kitchen.... they both went there and nic sighed knowing what was to come next is not good

'chloe i need you to call for an ambulance, tell them your mum has huntingtons and she is unable to swallow

'is this serious?

'yes it is, also call your brother

'okay.... while chloe made the phone calls nic went back to fey

'listen fey with you being unable to swallow we need to get you to the hospital, do you know how long it has been since your diagnosis?

'i think about 4 years. But i was diagnosed late

'okay, its going to be okay fey. chloe is calling for an ambulance and we will see whats going on

'im dying and very soon, i know what happens when i cant eat, nicolette i need you to promise me you will look after chloe. aaron has david and mark whas tyler but chloe doesnt have that, you and her have a bond and she will need you... fey grabbed nics hand

'okay i promise to look after her. although you have time fey

'not a lot and you know it... just than there was a knock on the door and chloe opened it seeing the ambulance officers

'hi guys come in.... david and aaron walked in not long later the 3 of them watching on as nicolette and the 2 officers kept fey calm and were taking her stats, they loaded her onto the bed and took her out to the ambulance

'who is going with her?

'chloe you go... chloe got in and the ambulance left, all the neighbours had come out seeing what was going on, karl, susan, sheila and toadie looking on in worry

'guys can i get a lift with you?

'yea of course, come on.... they arrived at the hospital not long later. 

'david where would they take mum?

'to emergency, follow me.... they went through the doors and looked around seeing chloe standing outside a room so went over to her

'chloe whats going on?

'they just doing some tests so im waiting, she is just in there

'i might go in

'thanks david.... nicolette went beside chloe and held her hand for support, chloe sadly smiled at her

'stay strong guys, she will need you now more than ever

'nic you have seen this plenty of times, what are we looking at?

'honestly?

'please, we need to be prepared, she will need a feeding tube from now on. she will not be able to eat or drink anything, she will need full time care

'how long?

'aaron dont... chloe said but he held his hand up

'chloe we need to know, nicolette how long?

'from what i have seen in the past you are looking at 2 weeks maybe 3

'2 weeks?

'yes but her doctor will tell you a definite answer... chloe began crying and turned to hug nic who wrapped her arms around her. david came out half an hour later

'how is she?

'doing ok, they are putting in a feeding tube right now and running blood tests and a bunch of other tests

'david where is the specialist?

'on his way, we will know more when he gets here and can look at the results, boo you need to stay calm and than go sit with your mum, she is scared

'yea okay, chloe you coming?

'yes, nic?

'go on chloe, i have to talk to david 

'okay... they walked in the room and sat down while nicolette and david waited outside

'not good, you know as well as i do that once the symptoms start like this is a fast decline

'david asked me how long do i think she may have, i said 2-3 weeks

'yea pretty much right, this is going to hurt them both in there and there whole family, even people in the street will struggle with whats going to happen

'im going to sit with them.... nic walked into the room and stood behind chloe rubbing her shoulders before going to feys bedside and running her hand through her hair 

'how are you feeling?

'im okay, thank you for helping me

'of course, anytime, you get some rest the doctor will be in shortly.... fey nodded and closed her eyes for a little bit

'hey i might go grab a coffee, chloe? aaron coffee?

'yes please nicolette

'yes thanks baby.... leaving a kiss to chloe's cheek she walked out of the room and took the lift down to the ground floor walking into the cafe and ordered 4 coffees, she paid and was given the 4 coffees in a cup holder and went to the lift, someone came up beside her and she turned her head slightly seeing it was pierce

'why are you here?

'to see my wife

'ex-wife to be, remember your separated. she doesnt want to see you. in fact there is an avo against you for both me and her so get lost before i call the police.... the door opened and nic walked into the elevator, pierce snuck in as well smirking evily, as the door closed

'you better watch that pretty little mouth of your bitch before i put it to work on satisfying me

'gross, you probably cant even get it up, pig.... pierce turned to face the redhead and push her against the wall

'what the hell, call security and the police now... he said to a nurse, pierce didnt even give a shit and stepped over nicolette and past david who was checking on her, pierce walked to the room where fey was and inside, chloe and aaron looked up

'this asshole slapped her, the coffee spilt all over her legs and arms, im taking her to an exam room, arrest him now!!!!!. david demanded at a laughing pierce, the police were coming up the hallway and arrested pierce dragging him away as he yelled out to chloe

'your mine, you always will be, im coming back for you chloe.... chloe didnt care what he was saying and followed david into the room. he placed nic on the table

'chloe strip her of her clothes she needs a cleansing now... chloe did so gently as tears rolled down her cheeks seeing nic in pain

'i know, we need to get you cleaned off, im so sorry nic. that prick has problems

'its not your fault, he is obsessed. cant blame him... they managed to get nic in the shower and cleansed with a special soap david gave them which really helped, nic was now in a gown laying on the bed

'how do you feel now nic?

'its not as bad, is my skin singed?

'no it hasnt, its sore but the coffee musnt have been really hot which is good. i will get some ice packs for the severe areas but i think you should be fine. hows the cheek?

'fine, he hits like a bitch... nic, chloe and david laughed

'your really strong nic... chloe said rubbing her cheek. david returned with the ice packs and gave them to chloe to put on the sore skin

'i know nic but its for the best... she nodded

'its fine, hows your mum?

'still resting which  is good, i dont think what happened woke her

'thats good, she needs to rest

Chloe walked out after hearing the news. It was bad, really bad and even though nicolette warned them it was still hard to hear, she walked out and straight into nic who was coming over to check on her

'im fine babe, how did it go?... she looked at chloe's face and wiped her tears  

'not good. mum has 2 weeks.... chloe cried and nic wrapped her arms around her girl

'im so sorry chloe, what can i do?

'your doing it, just being here for me but mums care will be full on

'are you sure? nic clearly being with me has been trouble for you, pierce has caused so much trouble

'i dont care about him and im not worried about that idioat, im here for you and your mum... nic said pulling back holding chloe's face in her hands, she rubbed the blondes cheeks with her thumbs

'im so sorry you got hurt again, how are you feeling?

'well he hits like a bitch, the burns are sore but okay, david is right its like bad sunburn, luckily it wasnt very hot the coffee, now what i need is come clothes, i cant walk around with this gown, babe you can see my ass... chloe giggled and kissed the redhead

'i have to go home and get mum some clothes, she needs to be here for a night so they can make sure not to get an infection from the food line

'i will no worries..... nic grabbed her stuff and left the room, walking passed feys room she blew a kiss to chloe and fey and left the hospital. she didnt have a car so ordered a taxi and arrived home soon enough, going inside she went to feys room and pulled out the list of things she wanted to do

'this is doable... she said to herself, first thing first id to call the police and see what has happened with that dickhead, she sat on the couch and used her phone to call the station

'still here, he is trying to get bail again but i doubt it because he is already is on bail when this happened

'thanks.... nicolette went on to make a call to bring in a special medical bed and supplies for fey, it would be set up in the lounge room because with visitors coming and going, fey needing help and the family around they need the room and its easier for all to have her in the lounge room, the company were happy to deliver what she needs in an hour so nic started to clear out the loungeroom, moving couches aside, the table was also moved  to make room. once she was satisfied she huffed and went to drink some water sculling half before there was a knock on the door. she opened it to see 2 police officers

'are you nicolette stone?

'thats me

'i am constable mason and this is constable andrews, can we come in?

'sure, we just have to sit at the table.... they sat down and both took out a little book and pencil

'i just want you to run through your whole story of what happened today with pierce....nic went on to tell them the story of what had happened between the pair, the officers asked some questions about not just today but when pierce got into the house. 

'thanks nicolette, do you have any questions for us?

'where is he?

'in our holding cell, his lawyer is working on getting him bail but we have suggested to the courts to not give it because hit isnt the first time he is violent

'can i be at the bail hearing and speak to the judge?

'yes you can, i can let you know when its been set

'i would appreciate that thank you.... another knock at the door came a minute later and nicolette answered it

'hi we are from 'end of life care', we have the order for nicolette stone

'thats me, please set it all up right here in the lounge room, i just have to finish with the officers

'of course... nic went back to the table where they were sitting

'alright so nicolette im guessing you want to press charges of assault right?

'absolutely and stalking, no one but me, chloe, david and aaron knew fey was in hospital, maybe a couple of the neighbors but they wouldnt tell him. its creepy how he found out only a few hours after being there. I also want an avo in place 

'yes its definitely weird. unfortunately because the hospital is a public place he can be there, but yes we will serve him with an avo, alright we will let you go because your clearly busy but here is my card so dont hesitate to call. otherwise i will contact you about his bail hearing which will most likely be tomorrow morning

'great thank you officers..... they left and the people setting up the bed smiled at nicolette

'got some trouble going on love?

'something like that, anyways im pretty sure i know how to use all this stuff but can you refresh my memory?

'sure love come over here... nicolette learned everything she needed and they left. as they were leaving elly popped up

'what is going on nic? first an ambulance, than the police and now these people

'please.... nic made coffee and they sat down together, she told elly everything that had happened

'she knew it was coming but its still not easy, she has kids and family, its sad

Nicolette borrowed chloe's car and drove to do something that really needed to be done. after talking to elly for a while they both agreed is needed to be done. parking up the car she got out and went inside the centre

'hi miss can i help you?

'i am here to see mark brennan, i made an appointment to talk to him and his doctor

'yes of course, i will get his doctor first, please take a seat.... nic waited for a few minutes when a male doctor came over

hi im marks doctor, please come to my office... she followed him and sat down on one of the chairs

'yes, im the nurse for his mother

'yes he has told me about her and her huntingtons

'well she has deteriorated quite quickly. she has 2 weeks to live so i need to get mark home to spend time with his mother before she passes, do you think he can handle that?

'he might be able to do it, but not if he will be living with his wife or soon to be ex-wife. 

'no he wont, she moved in with her own family, although in the street we are all there and aware of the situation now so we will keep an eye on him

'alright, i can discharge him for now but he will need to come back to finish off his treatment

'great, i will bring him here and you can tell him everything...mark turned up a few minutes later

'nic, what are you doing here?

'mark we need to talk about your mum, come sit down... mark sat down and nicolette told him everything about fey

'2 weeks?

'yes, im sorry mark

'i expected it but not so quickly, i thought we had another couple years at least

'i know, well your doctor has given the go ahead to bring you back home so you can be there for your mum, how do you feel about that?

'it doesnt matter how i feel, i need to be there

'its chloe asking for me to pick me up. lets go up..... they went inside the hospital and mark grabbed some flowers on the way up, they got in the lift and got to the right floor and got out

'which room is she in?

'that one right there, let me just go in first and talk tot hem so they dont freak out

'i was parking the car, listen i need to talk to you guys and i hope you wont be angry.... she said looking at chloe, david, aaron and fey

'i went and got mark, before you all flip out listen to me first, fey doesnt have long left and needs all her children here with her, i know mark has done wrong but he will go back into treatment when he is ready. I cleared it with elly as well and laid down some rules with mark... she looked around at all there faces unsure if she crossed the line, fey was the first to speak

'i have already booked there flights, they arrive tomorrow after lunch, they will stay with us. if thats okay with you chloe?

'okay...mark went into the room and the girls left the hospital, they arrived home stopping to get some burgers and chips for dinner, walking inside chloe looked around

'its fine babe, i got it done and its all ready for your mum, lets eat.... they sat down and ate dinner than sat there talking for a while. chloe realized nics eyes going red and her continued rubbing her eyes

'no i need to do the washing and i wanted to clean out the fridge

'no no no, come on shower and bed, dont worry about any of the other stuff. im tired and so are you

'ugh fine.... they showered together and climbed into bed. it didnt take long for them to fall asleep

back at the hospital the boys had just left the room once visiting hours were up. they silently went down to the car and got in. to say it was awkward would be an understatement, they arrived in the street and got out

'do you need to get your bag from chloe's house?

'i will get it tomorrow, it looks like there asleep, all the lights are off, ugh thanks for the lift

'its fine, just please mark do right by mum and stuff this up. dont make it harder on everyone with your bad attitude

'thanks david...mark went to his place and unlocked the door and flicked the lights on. he looked through the house and saw all of elly's stuff gone but he figured as much, he had a shower and dressed in boxes and a shirt before getting in bed. he sighed feeling the loneliness but he knows he deserved it, he puts hands on elly and made her feel like crap. he had only been at the treatment centre a few days but he was learning  so much already which was good, he put his phone on charge and went to sleep

nicolette woke up to hearing chloe crying, she turned around and wrapped her arms around the blonde woman

'shuuu baby, i got you... chloe held onto nics arms feeling safe and supported, nic kissed her neck and just held her 'what can i do?

'dont leave me, i need you nic

'im right here babe, im not going anywhere

'thank you... chloe cried out, she cried for a long time and eventually fell asleep again, nicolette let her sleep and slid out of bed, she went into the shower and hissed as the burns hurt. she showered quickly and got out and dried, she put on the cream david gave her which had a numbing agent in it so it stopped the pain. once it dried she got dressed and went to the kitchen to make something to eat, she decided on making pancakes so got the batter together, as she was stirring the ingredients there was a knock at the door so she went and opened it, she saw david, aaron and mark standing there

'hey guys, come in.... mark didnt move unsure if he was welcome into his sisters house  'mark you too, this is a time to be together not fight, common

'are you sure? i dont want to upset chloe more

'im sure, common get in here. im making breakfast and we can all eat... mark walked inside and sat at the table with the other 2 while nicolette went tot he kitchen to double her ingredients for the boys

'hows chloe this morning?

'she isnt doing the best to be honest, its hard for her, for all of you. how are you guys?

'didnt get much sleep, its was tough to hear the news about mum

'i can imagine

'when did this all happen?... aaron said nodding towards the bed and set up in the lounge room

'nic set it up yesterday, isnt my girlfriend the best... chloe said coming over and wrapping her arm around nics waist 'she did it all for mum and us to be comfortable

'well obviously no food. very small sips of water and no other liquids. i will be here the whole time anyways, babe sit down with your brothers and i will get breakfast done

'no im okay... the siblings sat down and talked, it was awkward between mark and chloe but they chose to ignore it, 20 minutes late nicolette bought over a huge plate stacked high with pancakes, a jog of syrup, a pot of coffee, juice and water

'nic sit down, right here next to me.... chloe smiled as she pulled the chair out for the redhead to sit down which she did

'thanks babe..... they had breakfast together than aaron and david cleaned up while chloe got ready to go to the hospital. They were all hoping to bring fey home today so they could spend the last days with her, they arrived at the hospital not too long later. chloe and nic walked hand in hand behind the boys, nic could feel chloe's hand sweating

'thank you, i dont know how to do this

'you can lean on me anytime you want and need.... chloe kissed nic

'oh i do try... they giggled and continued to follow the boys, arriving at the room fey looked up

'oh my kids are here, how are you all my loves?

'doing okay, doctor said i can leave the hospital today

'thats great mum, nicolette has set up the house for you

'of course fey, im going to talk to your specialist and see when we can get you home

'okay... she squeezed chloe's hand and left the room to find the doctor, chloe took her mums hand

'how do you feel mum? are you in pain or uncomfortable?

'im doing okay darling, nothing to worry about

'easier said than done mum..... nicolette managed to get the ambulance transfer done and all the paperwork as well and returned to the room

'alright guys these 2 officers are taking your mum home, one of you can go with her

'mark i want you to come with me

'great, i am peter and this is patricia, we will slide you onto our bed and get you home

'thank you... once fey was loaded on the bed the others left to get to chloe's to wait for her to arrive. when they got home nicolette dressed feys bed and got it organized 

'hey aarona nd david why dont you go pick up tyler and piper? there plane lands in 45 minutes

'yea good idea nic, where are they staying?

'its up to them, they can stay in my room here, or your or marks, let them decided

'okay, we will be back... the boys left and nicolette went to find chloe out the front sitting on the brick wall, she stood between her legs and rubbed her thighs

'are you okay?

'yea, im glad she is coming home but im just sitting here thinking about christmas, birthdays, she wont be here for any of it

'no she wont, i wish we could change that but we cant chloe

'i know, i dont know how to be without her. when i have problems i call her and she helps me, how can i have another mothers days without her, my mum has been the only parent to raise me and be there for me. I need her

'i know you do chloe, she may physically not be here for all that but she will be here, in your heart.... nic said putting her hand over choe's heart, chloe put her hand over nics and sadly smiled

'luckily you dont have too. im right here..... the ambulance turned up a minute later and mark jumped out, they watched as the officers bought fey inside the house and placed her on the bed nic making sure the drip was connected for a feed and the bed was right for her

'are you comfortable fey? do you need another pillow?

'no im fine thank you

'okay good. im going to hang up the bag for your lunch... fey nodded and nicolette went tot he cupboard and small fridge set up for fey, she pulled out the bag and hung it up for the older woman, she rubbed chloe's shoulder and let them spend time together, she went outside and hung the washing up

'chloe that girl is a definite keeper, much better than that pierce

'you seemed happy but i knew he wasnt right for you, he was always telling you what to do and i did not like that, i bought you up to be your own person and i expect you to be the strong woman i raised, i need to know you will be okay chloe

'chloe i know you, this will be hard for you more than anyone else. we are and always have been very close. i worried about you all the time with pierce and now that your away from him i need you to stay away from him

'i will mum, i promise, i have the most amazing partner with nic and im not letting her go... both looked over to the backdoor laughing as nic came inside holding a basket of clean washing that was bigger than here, chloe went over to her

'most definitely, tomorrow we start and all your kids will be involved in it all

'great... the door opened and in walked aaron, david, mark, tyler and piper

'mum.... tyler said and ran over hugging her piper right beside him  'how are you mum?

'im doing okay tyler, how are you both?

'yes we are good, look..... piper held her hand up to show fey the ring

'well we are having a bbq tonight so i will text you what i need, now off you both go and behave yourselves... nic kissed chloe and whispered in her ear

'try to make up babe, life is clearly too short. he knows he was wrong and is trying to do better.... chloe nodded and left with mark

'yea well your kids are stubborn, i know it will take time to fully forgive him but there is no need for the awkward moments, no one enjoys them, so how are you?

'thank you... fey fell asleep quickly and nic made a sign to put on the front door saying 'enter quietly fey is sleeping'. she text chloe a list of stuff to get, its easier for everyone to have dinner together every night so a bbq was the first one tonight. she went ot the bedroom she had been staying in and cleaned up, it was a mess because she hadnt had any time to clean it due to being injured and busy, she folded the clothes and packed them away, put on the clean sheets and blanket in case anyone wanted to stay over and packed everything away, she basically stays with chloe now as the blonde wants her close

mark and chloe were quiet in the car, chloe was cursing nic for putting her in this position but she also knew she was right, they arrived at the big supermarket and she parked the car, her phone beeped with the list

'nic says bbq tonight for everyone, so here is the list... she gave her phone to mark and they got out going into the store. they went through the shop getting everything on the list and chloe getting extra snacks that nic loves, the redhead never asks for anything but in the last month they have known each other she has picked up a few things she knows nic loves, they went to the cashier and put everything on the belt so the woman bagged them, mark paid even though chloe fought with him about it

'chloe please just let me do it, i cant do anything else so just let me

'okay, well i will go to the cake shop there and get something for dessert

'alright... mark met chloe at the cake shop and she put the 2 boxes in the trolley

'do you need anything else chloe?

'nic needs aloe vera gel for her burns and i want to get some flowers

'how about i take the shopping to the car and you can come when your ready?

'okay, here is the keys i wont be long..... mark walked off and chloe went to the chemist and than the flower shop looking at the different ones, she wasnt sure which ones nicolette liked

'i want to get my girlfriend some flowers, just a thank you for supporting me

'alright, how about these ones here? it has red, purple, yellow and white flowers 

'yea there really nice, i will get them...... chloe paid and left the center and got in the car with mark

'ready to go? do you need to do anything before we go back to mine?

'i would like for us to talk chloe

;well we have a 20 minute drive back to mine, so lets talk... it was silent for a moment before chloe started

'why? why did you do that to elly?

'i dont know, i was so angry with life and i took it out on her, i didnt mean to hurt her

'but you did mark, u have never seen elly so broken than that night we took her to the hospital

'i know, that was never my intention. i love elly

'mark you dont lay hands on someone you love, mum bought us up to respect our partners, remember what she went through with him, he was so cruel to mum and tyler, he abused them both

'i know, i dont know how to fix this chloe. im sick and i know that... he said wiping his tears... they were silent for the remainder of the ride and when chloe parked her car she sighed

'listen mark im so angry with you  and as much as i dont want to be i am. In saying that mum has up to 2 weeks to live and we need to make it the best we can, i will put my feelings aside for mum and see how we go

'okay... they collected all the bags and went up the stairs seeing the sign on the door

'mum must be asleep, quietly mark... he nodded, they walked inside and to the kitchen and began unpacking the shopping

'where is nic?

'dont know, let me go check.... chloe went to the bedrooms and found nic cleaning in chloe's room

'hey nic, i got these for you

'oh babe thank you so much, there beautiful

'just like you baby... nic smiled

'how did you go?

'we agreed to put things aside for now to deal with mum, i cant forgive him yet, does that make me a bad person?

'no chloe, it makes you human and it shows your care for elly, come here babe.... they hugged each other  'did you get all the meat i asked for?

'yes and i also got some extra so we can make elly a plate and send it to her

'good idea, i might go marinate the meat and put mark to work on cleaning the bbq and  getting it started

'sure... they went tot he kitchen and nic sent mark outside to deal with the bbq while the girls prepared everything else inside, nic cut up the salad and made fresh bread, she also made ceasar salad, cheese and spinach triangles and garlic dip. once it was all organized nic took the meat out to mark 

'here mark, how did it go with chloe? she said she will put things aside for now

'yea, i stuffed up bad and im trying to do better

'i get it but you have to understand it wasnt minor what you did

'i know, i just want to be here now for mum and than after i can go back to the treatment center, i still do daily phone consults with my therapist

'thats a good thing. you will get there mark but if you feel out of control or anything come to me or walk outside and get some air

'anytime, well this should take like 2 hours, are you good to bbq on your own?

'yea sure, i have the radio on my phone on so im good

'alright, we will be inside anyways..... nic went inside to see chloe sitting by her mums bed just holding her hand, fey was awake and stroking chloe's cheek as they stared at each other. nic let them be and walked out the front, she went down the stairs and sat on the brick wall, she smiled when elly walked over and sat down

'hows the hand?

'its good, a little tender but its getting there, how are you? still sore?

'its okay, my skin does burn at times especially when im hot and sweaty

'nic your on your feet constantly and doing lots, how are you gonna handle it?

'i will manage, chloe needs me now and i have to be there for her and fey, im good elly

'alright, so how are they all coping?

'the boys are okay, tyler and piper arrived a few hours ago so fey is happy to have them all here

'yea i bet, can i do anything to help?

'no thanks, we are having a bbq tonight but i didnt invite you because mark will be there

'so i will make you a plate and bring it over for you

'thanks nic... ally laid her head on nics shoulder feeling comforted by the redhead. they sat out there for half an hour and than susan arrived home so elly jumped off the wall

'doing okay, she is happier being with her family and she received the signed divorce papers from mark and they have been filed

'its a little cold now, the sun went down 20 minutes ago... chloe took her jacket off and wrapped it around her girl

'anytime, i put the bake in the oven and pulled out plates, cups and cutlery

'she is outside with mark

'sure baby. common lets get inside its too cold now.... they went inside and they told mark they were going to have a shower and he was happy to spend time with his mum. the girls got into the shower together and nicolette hissed again

'chloe i need to shower quickly, the water is too hot.... chloe made the water much colder

'its much better but you will get cold

'im fine nic, lets just shower and get out.... they did so nic greatful for chloe's gesture, nic got out and stopped chloe from following, she changed the water back to hotter

'stay and get warmed up babe, i will get dressed and once your warm your towel is here

'thank you..... once they both were dressed they went to the kitchen seeing everyone had arrived, david came over to nicolette not wanting everyone to hear

'nic how is the burns?

'sore but the cream you gave me is helping

'can i check them to make sure there healing okay?

'right here?.... her eyes went wide

'no in the bedroom

'okay, hey chloe can you watch out for the bake, i wont be long

'sure nic... david and nic went to chloe's room and closed the door

'im just going to lift your shirt... david checked her over

'how do they look?

'the front ones are good and healing well but the back ones arent the best

'how many are there?

'there is 2 the size of a fifty cent piece and one big one, about the size of my hand, does it hurt?

'it really hurts but i cant reach them to put cream on

'the burns on nics back arent looking very good, they are red raw and very painful

'let me have a look, lay down... nic laid on her stomach and chloe lifted her shirt up gasping when she saw the red raw sores

'i actually have  a cream that has a strong antibiotic in it at home. keep her like this and let it dry out a bit i will go get it

'okay... david left the room and chloe sat beside nic kissing her back in the spots thats not sore

'oh david thanks and pleas dont tell anyone out there... he nodded and left the room, chloe gently rubbed the cream in and waited till it dried than pulled nic up and into her arms

'okay babe... they kissed a few times and than went out the the kitchen, nicolette hung another bag for fey and checked her obs 

'how are you feeling fey?

'im happy to have all my kids here... the older lady smiled

'there a loud bunch arent they?... nic smiled when she saw aaron pick up chloe and swinging her around

'they always have been. When they were younger they used to chase each other around the house yelling and pushing each other around, chloe used to throw water bombs at the boys

;of course she did, a little trouble maker?

'oh yea, she even used to fill them with confetti or shaving cream, the boys would pick her up and toss her in the pool or tickle her

'they were really good all together, as kids anyone that messed with chloe had to deal with 4 brothers, mark was the one that always beat anyone up that that even looked at chloe wrong, now they cant even get along

'there doing okay fey, they talked a little today and there doing better

'i hope so, can you get me up o sit with you all for dinner?

'absolutely.... nic put fey in the wheelchair and got aaron to set up the table, she quickly made a big plate for elly and ran across the rd giving it to her

'anytime, i will be back with dessert.... nic left and arrived as they were all sitting down to eat

'here baby come sit here... she sat beside chloe and they had dinner together, there was lots of laughter which was great for them all. after dinner tyler and piper cleaned up and than they all sat around for some time, feys eyes were struggling to stay open

'fey lets get you bathed and in bed

'thank you nicolette..... nic with the help of chloe showered fey and put her into her bed, tyler and piper stayed with her till she was asleep than joined the others out the backyard

'i have something to talk to you guys about but i need to do something quickly, hey aaron why dont you serve dessert i will be back in 5 minutes... nic went and gave elly dessert and than went back home sitting in chloe's lap

'alright guys so your mum has asked me to help her with a bucket list, i have organized to do the few things in the next few days and she wants you guys involved, so what do you say?

'what is it? like what does she want to do?

'guys i know this isnt easy but this is what she wants

'we are in... tyler said for her and piper, the rest all agreed to follow through as well

'great, tomorrow we have naked drawing followed by hot air balloon, so if you could all be here at 11am?

'sure, do we need to bring anything?

'no aaron just yourselves, i organized everything, tyler and piper i was thinking you 2 could get married in 3 days? 

'that would be great, alright we better go so you girls can rest, nicolette seems to be falling asleep on chloe... nic tiredly smiled as she lay her head on chloe's shoulder

'its fine, you have done so much today, lets all go and let them rest.... they waved the girls bye but the girls stayed there

'you ready for bed?

'hmm.... nic answered  'im comfy right here.... chloe smiled

'i think we need  a bed, up you get

'yes boss.... they got up and checked on fey before going to chloe's room and crawling into bed. chloe pulled the redhead into her arms and held her to her own body

'go to sleep beautiful..... they were both asleep soon

The week passed with nicolette helping the family fulfil all of feys list. now it was saturday and fey was unable to move anymore, she had a cathadar in  to make it easier for all. she was in bed and everyone around them knew it was the last day or 2 of feys life, she was very week and unable to talk to much. tyler, paige, mark, aaron, david, chloe and nicolette were all at the house. everyone had been pretty much camped out there for the last 4 days because they were spending so much time together. nicolette had just administered some morphine to make sure fey wasnt in any pain or discomfort

'nic how is mum going? 

'doing okay aaron, the morphine will keep her comfortable. just spend some time with her guys. she doesnt have much longer... nicolette said to aaron, david, tyler and mark sitting by the bed watching on in worry  'you guys need to stay strong for her and each other, im going to check on your sister

'thanks nic.... she went to the bathroom and knocked

'baby its me, im coming in... she walked in and saw chloe in the shower so sat on the edge of the bathtub, chloe said nothing as she continued to wash her hair

'chloe talk to me, i know your struggling.... still nothing but nicolette kept trying to get her to talk  'baby say something, you have barely spoken in 3 days, your shutting down and shutting everyone out especially me. what can i do to help you?.... she heard chloe huff and turn around to open the door, she grabbed nics hand and pulled her into the shower and pushed her into the wall kissing her, chloe's hands were all over nicolette trying to strip her of her clothes and the redhead was struggling to control herself when chloe was throwing herself at her but she had to stop this. she gently pushed chloe away

'baby we cant do this, your not in the right frame of mind... chloe growled 

'fucks sake, you asked me what i wanted and i want this but you couldnt do that, what? you dont want me anymore? sounds about right

chloe its not like that

'forget it.... chloe stepped out of the shower and wrapped a towel around her  

'chloe.... she tried to yell out but the blonde was gone, nicolette stripped her wet clothes and had a quick shower than wrapped a towel around herself and followed chloe to her room but she was already gone,  she got dressed and left the room seeing chloe sitting with the boys by her mum, she looked up with tears rolling down her cheeks and than turned her head from nicolette.  nic sighed and went to the kitchen to make food for everyone. she had ordered some meat and vegies online and it was delivered earlier so she decided to do it all on the bbq, taking everything out she took it out to the table by the bbq to cook, while out the she sliced the zucchini, potato, carrots, and eggplant and kept them aside to put on after the meat. she threw on sausages, steaks, meat patties and kebab sticks than quickly ran inside and put the rice on to cook, she also sliced the bread and put it in a bowl than went back outside to the bbq and flipped the meat. an hour later and she was setting all the food on the table, there was the meat, rice, bread, sliced veggie, salad, hummus, garlic dip and corn

'hey everyone your mum is asleep so come and get something to eat... they all came over 

'thanks nic it looks great

'anytime mark, eat up guys.... nic walked back outside and began cleaning the bbq, she heard someone walk out and sit down at the table, looking over her shoulder she saw it was chloe who had a plate in front of her with a little bit of food, she didnt say anything so just kept cleaning, they were both so quiet it felt like some one might burst very soon, nicolette rubbed her neck while cleaning and than felt hands on her shoulders 

'im sorry about before nic, i didnt mean to go off on you like that, you dont deserve it and im so so sorry. you have done so  much for us and i can never thank you for that... nicolette turned around and wrapped her arms around chloe's waist

'chloe i do it because i want to and you also pay me to nurse your mum... chloe smiled and kissed nic on the lips  'seriously chloe i know your going through a lot but im here for you

'i know its just hard, im just trying to process everything

'im here for you to lean on, anytime

'thanks, so im forgiven?

'well i dont know, maybe i need more convincing your sorry

'what can i do?.... nicolette pouted 

'firstly my neck is killing me so a massage please

'sure babe, turn around... nic did so and continued to clean while chloe rubbed her neck and gently massaged it, she pressed a little to hard and nic hissed 

'shit sorry, nic you got a couple knots, how long has your neck been hurting?

'a couple days

'must be the pillows in our bed

'im just getting used to them, its fine baby

'alright enough with the bbq its clean, go inside and eat now, dont argue.... nic huffed but turned around and kissed chloe

'okay im going, come on and sit with your family

'actually im going to go do a couple things, you okay here with everyone?

'yes of course baby

'do we need anything?

'can you grab milk, butter and something sweet please?

'sure, i wont be long and i will go check on elly as well

'good idea.... they went inside and chloe watched as nic put a few things on a plate and sat down at the bar watching everyone, chloe frowned because she has notice nic hasnt been eating much in the last few days, she went to the table of food and made a hotdog and put it on the redheads plate

'baby... nic whined

'you need to eat

'so do you, you didnt have much to eat earlier

'yea i know but im ok, i will eat when i get back

'okay... they shared a few kisses and chloe left the house telling the others she would be back in an hour or so..... while chloe was gone nicolette finished eating and than packed the left over food away in the fridge, she made plenty so they could all eat later if they wanted or the next day, while cleaning the kitchen aaron came over to help washing the dishes

'nic i cant thank you enough for everything you are doing

'its my job aaron

'no its not, your job is to look after mum, but you cook, clean, make sure we are all okay, talk to us and help us through our bad moments, its getting harder for us but your strong for us all especially chloe, she is a wreck but one talk with you, a touch or cuddle from you and she is more relaxed, your a god sent 

'im am happy to be here for you all aaron, how are you doing?

'its hard i wont lie but having these last few weeks with mum has been good, i know that this time next week mum wont be here and it will hurt a lot but i also know that all these good times we have had especially in the last couple weeks will always be in my heart... aaron said as he wiped her cheeks from the falling tears

'fuck i have cried more in the last 2-3 weeks than ever before.... nicolette wiped her hands dry and pulled aaron into her arms

'i know az, its okay to cry... they hugged for a little bit till david came into the kitchen and took over

'stay strong boys, you will get through it

'thanks nic... she finished off the kitchen and seeing as everything was calm and they were all just sitting down talking softly she would go outside and water the garden, chloe loves her garden and she wanted to look after it

chloe returned with her hands full and tyler helped her with the bags

'thanks bro, just put them in my room and i will take these to the kitchen

'no worries.... chloe went into the kitchen and packed away the few items she bought and was checking her phone when she felt arms around her waist and a kiss on her neck

'you finally back, hows elly?

'yea she is good, completely healed and has decided to go back to school to teach, she really misses it

'thats a really good idea, i think it will keep her busy and life could get back to normal for her

'yea true, now i got you something, come with me please nic

'i need to put  a bag up for your mums night meal

'okay well do it and than come with me

'okay.... nicolette hung a bag and grabbed chloe's hand

'hey guys nic and i are going to have a lay down, there is food in the fridge and i bought dessert, make yourselves at home

'we are good chloe, nic looks like she might pass out soon, the woman needs to rest

'im fine mark, i need to do your mums nightly routine

'we can do it right guys?

'of course, you go rest girls, we are good

'if you need help just come and get me

'we will be just fine nic, go rest.... chloe pulled nicolette towards there room and nic saw all the bags

'whats all this? what did you buy baby?

'i bought us some new pillows

'chloe you didnt have to do that

'i wanted to, i have been meaning to get some new bedding anyways so i did, here look how cushy they are... nic smiled as she watched chloe pull out the new pillows and squish them, she put the new covers on and put them on the bed

'come on lets have a shower together and than get into bed

'okay.... they showered together, it wasnt anything sexual just both looking after each other,  chloe could see nic struggling to keep her eyes open but reciprocated just as much, they got out of the shower and dried off before sneaking to there bedroom and falling into bed naked, nic sighed when she felt chloe reach out and began to massage nics neck

'hmm thats feels good baby, thank you

'anytime, go to sleep beautiful

'hmm... nicolette moaned as her eyes closed and she fell asleep, chloe knew how exhausted she was considering the early wake ups, cooking, cleaning and doing everything really, chloe moved in closer to the redhead and held her as she fell asleep

The next day nicolette was up at 6.30 and after a quick shower she dressed and went to check on fey

'hi fey how do you feel?.... the tired woman blinked her eyes

'im okay nic, where is everyone?

'chloe is asleep in her room, tyler and piper in your room, the boys are here on the couches sleeping... she whispered not wanting to wake anyone,,,, fey coughed with the little strength she had left and nic patted her back

'your okay fey, just gentle coughs... once the woman was settled she grabbed nics hand

'you will look after them for me?

'what?

'my kids, please nicolette they will need help getting through this especially chloe, help them through it, please... she begged and nic nodded

;i will fey, you need to rest

'we both know that this is most likely my last day if not hours, i need to know they will be okay?

'i promise to look after them all fey

'thank you, in the folder in my luggage is my funeral details, i have organized and paid for everything so it wouldnt put any strain on them, there is a card in there for my lawyer, just call him and tell him i passed and he knows what to do, can you do that last thing for me nicolette?

'absolutely, i got you fey

'thank you for everything, you are the best thing to ever happen to my family, for all of us and my daughter has never been happier with anyone else.... fey closed her eyes to get some rest. nic knows as a nurse that fey doesnt have the rest of the day, she will be gone very soon so went into action, going over to mark, aaron and david on the couch

'hey guys wake up... mark woke with a jolt and looked around

'what, whats wrong?

'she doesnt have long guys, time to be with her.... they all jumped up and went to the bed side while shloe went and woke tyler and piper telling them the same thing, she went to chloe and sat on the bed

'chloe wake up

'hmmm... was all she got in return

'chloe come on wake up, i need you up now.... chloe opened her eyes and rolled towards nicolette, the redhead ran her fingers through chloe's hair

'chloe your mum is on her last few hours, its time to be with her.... chloe swallowed hard as tears rolled down her cheeks

'today?

'yes babe today, why dont you get cleaned up and go sit with your family... chloe nodded and went to the bathroom, nicolette called the doctor and explained feys situation and agreed that fey didnt have long, they also said they would be there soon to help fey die peacefully and for nicolette to continue with the morphine to keep her comfortable, nic went to the morphine and grabbed a dose than went over to fey

'not yet nicolette, i need to have a clear mind so i can say what i need to say to my kids, just give me a bit of time

'okay....nicolette rubbed feys arm and went to the kitchen. everyone went out the back and one by one had there turn talking to fey, she told them how much she loved them and how proud she was of them, chloe was last and her only daughter, fey reached up to stroke her daughters cheek

'my beautiful girl, i love you so much, im so proud to have you as my daughter, you have made my life and heart feel so full, be happy my darling girl because its what you deserve.... chloe's tears fell freely as she laid her head on her mums bed, everyone else joined the pair and sat around waiting for the inevitable, chloe wiped her cheeks

while chloe was finishing the poem nicolette and the doctor looked at fey and knew it had happened, they both both checked her pules and looked at the others

'im sorry guys, she has passed.... they all cried over her now lifeless body, david held aaron, piper held tyler, the doctor comforted mark and nicolette comforted chloe, the gloom that had covered the room was so sickening that chloe had walked out to the backyard, nicolette followed her and saw chloe drop to the ground in a heap and cry so uncontrollably that it broke her heart seeing her. she went over and sat behind chloe holding her in her arms. 

paul and therese were having lunch next door when they heard loud crying so they both looked over to see what was happening, when they saw nicolette holding a crying chloe the redhead looked up and the look said it all. fey brennan died

'paul leave them alone, its clear fey died

'hmm yes, should we do something?

'we will send some flowers but not now, let them grieve.... paul agreed and let them be

nicolette held chloe for a long time, aaron and tyler came out to check on her but she couldnt even comprehend anything, she was an utter mess and nicolette promised to look after her and if she needed them she would call out so they left chloe in nic capable hands. 

'i got you baby... she said as chloe clung to nicolette tightly  'im right here, im not going anywhere... they sat there for maybe 3 hours and eventually chloe had fallen asleep from exhaustion, nic looked up when tyler came out with piper

'is she asleep? she finally stopped crying

'yes she fell asleep about 20 minutes ago, do you mind carrying her to her room?

'yea of course... tyler did so and piper helped nicolette up

'thanks piper, where is the doctor?

'the morgue people just arrived so they are loading fey up

'alright, how are the boys doing?

'there doing as best as they can considering the situation, i was thinking of making some bacon, eggs and toast for everyone to eat

'yea thats a good idea piper, can you start it and i will join you in a few minutes, i need to call feys lawyer, she has organized the whole funeral so i need ot get it started

'she thought of everything

'yes she did, how are you piper? are you okay?

'yes im okay, i just need to support tyler and the boys... nic nodded

'yea, its going to be tough but we will all support each other, shit i need to tell everyone in the street, sheila and the kennedys were really good friends with them, come inside piper.... they went inside and while piper started some food nicolette checked in with the doctor

'do i need to sign off for anything doctor?... she said watching them take feys body out of the house

'no nicolette i have signed it all, i have put your details as contact in case they need anything so the others dont have to be bothered

'yea good idea. You did a good job helping fey and her family through all of this

'thanks doctor

'okay so off, if you need anything dont hesitate to call

'i will... the doctor left and nicolette grabbed her phone 

'guys would you like me to break the news to everyone else or do you want to do it?

'nic can you please do it for us?

'sure aaron. can you keep an eye on chloe please, i wont be long

'of course... nic walked out taking her phone and the card from feys folder, she called the number and informed the lawyer of the death of fey brennan and he told her he would start rolling out the plan's he hung up telling him to call her with the details. nicolette walked to therese and pauls house first and knocked, therese opened the door 

'nic hi, come in

'thanks therese, i just wanted to let you know that fey passed away today

'we assumed as much after what we saw earlier, how are the family doing?

'not the best, there struggling but sticking together 

'thats something. hows chloe? we saw you 2 earlier

;i think she is taking it the hardest, she finally fell asleep and tyler put her in bed

'she needs some rest. what can we do to help?

'yea anything they need... paul said wrapping his arm around therese

'nothing right now, they all need time to process her death

'yea they will need time

'anyways i have a few things to do but i wanted to let you both know

'thanks therese... nicolette left and went over to the kennedys and knocked ont he door, elly answered

'hey nic how are you?

'im ok and yourself?

'i just came to talk to karl and susan

'there having a coffee with with sheila

'oh good i need to speak to her as well... she followed elly inside 

'nicolette how are you?... susan asked

'im okay susan, listen guys i have some news, fey passed away today

'oh no, poor fey.... sheila and susan began to cry and karl was comforting his wife

'how are they over there nic?

'its hard elly, chloe just lost it completely but is now resting in bed. the others are stuggling to keep it together

'i can imagine, do they need anything?

'not right now, i need to get back to them but i wanted to let you guys know, sorry for the bad news

'its not your fault, thank you for letting us know and if we can do anything

'are you sure elly, mark is there

'yea im sure, i havnt forgiven him but i should be there for him through this

'okay, come on....they went back to chloe's house, elly went over to hug mark hugging him and he cried into her shoulder, nic went to the kitchen to help piper

'its okay, you can toast all the bread, the eggs and bacon are nearly done 

'yea sweet, has chloe woken up?

'not yet, actually i will do the toast, you go check on her

'absolutely. try get her up to eat something

'good idea.... nic went to the bedroom and saw chloe fast asleep, her face was tear stained and she was hugging herself, nic sat beside the girl and stroked her cheek

'chloe... she whispered not wanting to scare her buy chloe did not move

'chloe wake up... chloe began to stir and opened her tired eyes

'hey babe, you okay?... the tears rolled down her cheeks again

'mum died?... she asked unsure, confirming the worst day of her life

'yes chloe your mum died, im sorry

'did she suffer?

'no she didnt, she was comfortable

'thats good. I dont know what to do

'you grieve now, you remember all the good times you had with your mum

'yea, you wont go anywhere right?

'babe im right here, im not going anywhere

'piper made some bacon, eggs and toast so how about you come and have something to eat and than you can have a shower

3 days later they all flew to adelaide for feys funeral, it had been a rough few days. there were lots of tears and break downs from everyone, they were all so unsure of what to do with themselves, nicolette did her best to comfort chloe as well as keeping them all fed with the help of elly and piper, the 3 girls worked together to keep this family together and get them through this tough time. today though they were at the airport checking in for the flight, all except nicolette who would arrive on the day of the funeral because they decided as a family they did not want feys body to be flown on its own and non of them felt they could do it. feys body would be flown in 2 days and nicolette would go with her to make sure all goes right, plus nic is a hard ass and would make sure fey is looked after. chloe had her arms wrapped around nicolette

'you are definitely coming up right?

'of course chloe, just 2 days

'i dont know how to be without you, i need you

'babe you have all your family and elly is coming with you as well, therese and paul will be there tonight with sheila, karl and susan. reach out to any of them if you need to

'i just need you.... chloe kissed nicolette on the lips a few times

'you can call me anytime, now is there anything you want me to do on this end?

'no, all the equipment and bed is gone so nothing

'okay, you have a good flight and let me know when you get there

'i will... they shared a few more kisses and hugs than elly took her arm and they went through the terminal with the rest of the group, elly had promised to look after chloe while nic wasnt there and would call if there was any problems, nicolette left the airport and drove back home. chloe had left nic her car to get around which was very helpful. she arrived home and looked around, shit was everywhere because they were all in such a rush to get packed. There was a knock on the door and she opened it

'hey nic

'hi mum, come in

'thanks darling, how did they get off?

'yea okay, chloe was upset i wasnt going but she is okay with the rest of them

'im sure she will be okay, what will you be doing today?

'cleaning up here and making sure everything is organized for when chloe gets back

'well how about i help you? i have nothing else on and than we can maybe go for dinner after?

'sounds good mum, thanks..... nic put some music on and they spent the next couple hours cleaning up and organizing things, they boxed up feys things so chloe and the boys can go through them when they are ready. once finished nic had a shower and they walked to the waterhole for dinner. walking in shane was there serving

'hey girls, sit wherever you want, do you want drinks now?

'ah yes i will have a white wine, mum do you want the same?

'yes please, actually just give us a bottle

'coming right up... they sat at one of the tables and looked through the menus 

'so sweetheart what will happen now when chloe gets back?

'what do you mean?

'well your job was to look after fey but with her passing where does that leave you?

'shit i didnt think about that, i should probably go see if there are any jobs at the hospital

'thats a good idea mum, i need to find a place to live as well

'you wont stay with chloe?

'she needs her house back, i dont think us properly living together so fast is the best thing

'dont stress nicolette, when chloe is back you 2 can have a talk and sort things out together... the redhead nodded

'yea true..... shane came over with a bottle of wine and poured them a glass each

'alright ladies what can i get you to eat?

'i will have the fish and chips with salad please

'i will have the mushroom risotto, a bowl of chips and can we also have garlic bread please

'sure nic, oh how is chloe and the family?

'they left today to fly to adelaide, there doing as best as they can be

'alright i will put your order through.... they ate and chatted through out dinner and dessert, since nic came to the street she and jane had been slowly fixing there relationship, after dinner they went back to the street and went there separate ways, nic went inside and it was eerily quiet compared to how it has been the last couple weeks. her phone rang as she sat on the couch seeing it was chloe

'hey babe, how was your flight?

'hey beautiful, it was okay, we got to mums house an hour ago and had some dinner

'how do you feel being there?

'its hard being here when mum isnt, doesnt feel right

'i know baby, just do your best to get through it

'i am, elly is stuck to me like a bad smell and im guessing thats because of you?

'i wanted her to make sure your okay, i dont want you to be alone

'so you allocated a clone?... chloe said and smiled

'something like that, are you mad?

'of course not, thank you but she doesnt hug like you do, maybe  she will snuggle better in bed later... chloe said knowing it would make nic jealous

'if she knows whats good for her she wont be anywhere near you like that... chloe giggled this woman always makes her laugh

'are you jealous nic?

'damn straight i am, i dont share especially with elly

'why not elly?

'umm she is hot so she can stay in another bed

'dont worry she is staying at tyler and pier's place, not enough room for all of us

'makes sense, so what are you guys doing now?

'im going to shower and go to sleep, i miss you

nicolette was at the airport ready to fly, she had checked to make sure feys body was was in place and was walking to her gate eating  a sandwich, she boarded the plane and the flight went without any problems, arriving she waited for the funeral home to take feys body

'miss stone we have fey safely and will see you in a few hours

'thank you david... they left and nicolette got her bag walking towards the exit, she saw chloe who ran to her and wrapped her arms around her

'im so happy your here, i missed you so so much

'i missed you too beautiful... she felt chloe kiss her neck 

'you ready to go nic?

'sure, are you on your own?

'yes, i hired a car for a few days, i wanted time with you, the funeral starts in 3 hours so maybe we can have something to eat and than go?

'sure babe, come on.... thye held hands and exited the airport getting into the rental car

'what do you feel like eating?

'im not fussed chloe, take me to your favorite place

'okay... they stopped at a nacho place and nic smiled

'is this the place you told me about?

'yes, mum and i used to come here all the time, i want to share it with you..... nic smiled

'great, come on.... they went inside and sat down. 

'there is so much variety, so you decide for me.... nic held chloe's hand and smiled, they had lunch and than left

'im stuffed

'me too, it was great chloe, thanks for sharing that with me

'anytime, alright lets go to the hotel and shower and get dressed

'hotel?

'yes, i couldnt stay at mums, it was too hard

'i get it, thats okay, lets go to the hotel.... they arrived and both showered together and got dressed, nicolette looked over at chloe who was trying hard not to cry, her hands were shacking doing up her buttons on her top

'hey let me help

'thanks.... they finished getting ready and than left the hotel arriving at the church. mark and tyler were outside greeting everyone, they walked hand in hand towards them

'hey sis you doing okay?

'im fine, are there lots of people here?

'its pretty packed, our seats are reserved out the front the others are there, go on in... chloe and nic lit a candle and than walked down the middle to the front, people were giving her condolences and she smiled in thanks. They sat down with the others and nicolette squeezed her hand to let her know she wasnt alone, this was hard for them all but her priority is chloe, she wrapped her arm around the blonde and heled her tight, chloe looked at her and smiled sadly

'i got you, no matter what

'thank you.... the blonde mouthed back, the service was beautiful, paul spoke a little about knowing fey when she was younger, sheila told a story about when she a fey had too much to drink and fell into a pool, aaron, tyler and mark talked about how great there mother was and as a single mother made sure they all had what they needed, chloe struggled but with nics help she got through it sharing a couple stories of her mum, at the end aaron thanked everyone and they all went to the grave sight, her body was lowered down and that was when chloe lost it completely, she collapsed and nicolette and david caught her, she was out

'chloe, hey chloe, what happened david?..... nic said worried

'she is alright, she is in shock, she is breathing just give her a moment, someone get some water, aaron send everyone to the house so chloe can get some air and privacy

'yea of course boo..... aaron and mark directed everyone off leaving chloe in davids capable hands

'baby wake up, david she needs to wake up... nic rubbed her cheek

'its alright nic, here tyler give me that water... david splashed water on her face and chloe flinched before her eyes open and groaned

'what the hell? whats happening?

'baby, you fainted

'really? my head hurts... chloe said trying to get up

'where is everyone?

'we sent them with mark and aaron to the house... chloe nodded

'tired, should i be down there with everyone?

'you dont have to chloe, you did the main part now its your time to grieve, right now you should have a sleep. your tired and not feeling well

'true, will you stay with me?

'im not going anywhere baby

'good..... chloe was dozing off and what slipped from her lips shocked nicolette  'i love you'... the blonde said and fell asleep, nic looked down at chloe's face tucked into her chest, she was surprised to hear those words come from the blonde, nic loves the woman but was worried it was too quick but maybe its not, for now she would hold this woman and be here for her

A few days later they all flew home except for tyler and piper who live there and mark who decided to move to adelaide and start fresh, he had spoken to his therapist at the center and they transported him to one in adelaide, elly, aaron and david offered to pack up his house and get a removalist, he owned the house but had put it on the market and would give half to elly as they shared the home together, he was getting better which was a good thing, they all decided to sell there mums house and the money would be split between them, they each chose a few things to keep as momories and the rest would be donated to charity. 

'hey girls should we share a taxi or do you want your own?

'yea we can share aaron, here is one... they got in and arrived home 45 minutes later. nic and chloe went inside there house and sat on the couch, they hadnt spoken about chloe's whispered words or what there next step in. 

'we should talk chloe... she nodded

'is this about what i said?

'partly, i need to get a job and find a place to live... chloe nodded

'dont go anywhere.... chloe blurted out

'what?

'i love you nic, i have fallen madly, deeply in love with you and i want you to move in permanently, i want to share my life with you

'really?

'yes nic, i finally found someone who cares for me, who looks after me, you have been my biggest support and i love you so much... nicolette smiled

'yea?... she said smiling

'yes, i definitely wasnt looking for someone but im so great full i found you

'me too nic, now will you officially move in with me? we can redecorate, make the place our own  

'i would love too

'awesome, we can talk about how to decorating later

'yes we can, so i applied for a job at the hospital and i got an email for an interview for tomorrow 

'thats great babe, im so proud of you,  i think we need to celebrate so come to our room

'our room? i like that

'me too, com on i want to make love to my woman in our bed..... nicolette laughed at the cheesy blonde and followed her to there bedroom, they fell into each others arms making love to each other all day long only getting out of bed for some dinner but taking themselves back to bed with some whipped cream making the most of being in each others arms

6 months later

Its been a good 6 months for the girls, nic got a job at the hospital and she loved her job, chloe and nic together decorated there house together. clearing out anything that had to do with pierce. pierce himself spent 3 months in jail and than came out learning his lesson, he gave chloe a divorce and as an agreement paid her out a lump some of his money, she didnt want it as she makes her own money so she put it in an account that would gain interest and she could decide what to do with it later on. today though the girls were at the shelter as they decided to get a dog

'omg nic how cute is this little guy?... chloe said bending down to pat the cute dog

'he is very cute, but babe you said the same about the last 20 we saw, you get to choose one.. chloe pouted

'but i love them all...... nic laughed

'babe you get one, this is your birthday present but still its one 

'fine.... chloe stood up and looked around her eyes fell on a staffy who was black and had a white face

'him, he is beautiful

'are you sure?

'yes, i love him

'okay, let me get the lady to do the paperwork, you just, yep continue doing that... nic rolled her eyes as chloe sat with the dog in his cage and played with him. half an hour later they arrived home with there dog after a stop at the pet shop to get everything for the staffy who has been named spot

'chloe set up his bed in the laundry

'but i want him to sleep in our bed

'no chloe, he is not toilet trained and i dont want a dog in our bed

'fine, come on spot come and see your new bed, i will show you our house... nic shook her head playfully, she turned around to a knock on the door

'aaron, david how are you 2?

'we are very good, where is the dog?

'chloe is showing him around the house

'of course she is, well we came to share some news so call her here

'babe come here.... chloe came inside with spot trotting behind her

'hey guys, this is spot, spot this is uncle david and uncle aaron

'hey buddy, your a little cutie... aaron said patting him

'he is ay

'yea, listen we have news, we just got the phone call and we have been approved to adopt a little boy

'oh guys im so happy for you both, congratulations, you are going to be incredible dads

'so when do you get him?

'in a week, he is 4 years old and has been in foster care for 1 year, his parents were killed in a robbery and there is no other family, his name is andrew and here is a photo... aaron said showing them the photo

'he is beautiful. im really happy for you both

'thanks girls, how about you 2? is kids on the cards?

'nic and i talked about it and  we both want kids but not right now, maybe in a year or so , we just want to enjoy each other right now

'good idea. well we have to go set up the boys room so see you later for dinner

'okay, bye.... the boys left and chloe picked nicolette up in her arms and kissed her

'to our room, i really really want you, its my birthday and i want to open you up... nic giggled as chloe put her on the bed, she turned to close the door

'get out spot, this is not for childrens eyes... once the door was closed she crawled over nics body

'i got so lucky with you nic, i never thought i would find someone like you in my life

'i literally fell for you chloe, i love you more than i can explain

'i love you too, now let me make love to you beautiful... chloe did just that, they enjoyed each other happy to have the other in there lives, sharing a life that made them both happy
