   In order to save the Middleborough drama department--and pay for his shot at a decent university--Rich Goranski has a plan: to win the annual Young LGBT Collaborative Art Showcase. Deciding to stage a musical, Rich knows that between the screenplay, the special effects, the music, and the choreography, he's going to have to assemble the perfect crew.

   Perfect isn't possible in the dingiest town in New Jersey. He'll take what he can get.
