Sung Jinwoo stared at the kid which looked out of place on the battlefield, wearing a pristine white coat that remained untouched by any dirt or grime even while standing in a place raining with blood and gore. The kid had his back at him looking frail and small, like it would only take a single thumb to crush his small body which was severely out of place in the cast mountain of corpses.
Of course, the innocence is an illusion. Which kid can stand in the middle of a fight between powerful brings and remain unscathed and unaffected by the environment which can even make an adult male want to vomit. He looked at the system screen the name was not even readable. He can only see t$@ o&$e@€ £r&$&. He could only make it t, o, e and r which doesn't make sense at all.
The kid turned around and locked eyes with him. Even with the starry night reflecting in his eyes, they still seemed lifeless. Detached. Like he put nothing in his eyes. The eyes give him enough pressure that he has a hard time standing, which is weird considering he is the strongest hunter here with monarchs being his only problems, even if he's exhausted.
Then he heard something, a voice coming out of… himself?

[The fable heir of the shadow monarch has begun it's storytelling]
Sung jinwoo could barely tell what those were saying due to the hyper speed of the voice that he could barely decipher the mixed voice talking about his own life story. And… is that pride he's hearing? Even his shadows seem to be extremely prideful at this display while he himself could only feel uncomfortable over someone listening to his whole life… he felt bare…
While he was standing there still for some reason the eyes of the thing boy changed. The edgy feeling radiating from the boy changed into a cheerful one as his eyes filled with life. His lips opened saying, "A PROTOGONIST! Interesting. I was only here to see what is wrong with the absolute being here that made this world so unstable. But I never imagined such an important person here!"
Sung jinwoo was startled at the unique address of the boy who suddenly treated him like an idol. "Who are you?" He managed to drag out from between his teeth slipping into a defensive stance.
"Oh!" Is what he got as an answer. The boy seemed to realise something and politely bowed, "Hello Sung Jinwoo-nim! I'm a tourist here! Nice to meet you! You can call me Kim Dokja!"
Jinwoo was startled once again hearing an unimpressive Korean name. His confusion worsened but he kept his confusion. His eyes glowed and his shadows expanded.
"What are you?"
At this the boy smiled and bashfully rubbed his neck. "Like I said my name is Dokja which means "reader" but I'm an only child too. I came here to check why the balance of this world was so off as the other ◼️◼️◼️◼️ and me decided to check what's wrong here but I can't feel his presence anymore. It's really weird that this world is even standing without his support."
Sung Jinwoo couldn't understand anything the child was rambling. His black heart even showed excitement for some reason going him the front that he should bow down to this entity.
"What are you doing here?" He didn't take down his daggers.
"Ah hyung… you really are a protogonist. I'm not gonna attack you, you know. Here."
His system dinged or maybe it wasn't his system. He heard, [Lie detection has confirmed this statement to be true.]
"I've been wandering from so long. You remind me of him. It's hard to talk, maybe I should free myself. It's been done time."
The boy was mumbling to himself and he again didn't understand anything. But he went alert when he suddenly started GROWING at a visible rate.
Now where there once stood a child, a man was standing. The same cost, same attire but something was different. The power radiating from him reduced more than half but he still radiated overwhelming power. The man slowly opened his eyes looked here and there seemingly confused at what he was doing there. It only served to confuse Jinwoo further.
The man was pale, just like the kid, he couldn't properly see his features like something is stopping him from looking past him. He still have an edgy feeling, long eyelashes and he can see dark circles, an average noise and full pink lips. But no matter what he can't make his face in his mind.
Wait … what did the kid look like again?
The man finally seemed make sense of the situation when he saw Sung Jinwoo. He also seemed to realise that he's standing in a battlefield. The eyes looking at him are no longer the all knowledgeable starry and lifeless eyes but eyes filled with curiosity. His lips curled into a smirk as he rolled his head, radiating confidence.
"So… I guess you know something?" The man Kim Dokja said.
"No." As petty it was, he didn't want to let his guard down and take this being shown whole he's still weak.
[Lie detection has confirmed your statement to be false]
Kim Dokja gave an ominous smile as he said, "Looks like I'm stuck with you for the time being sir."
Sung Jinwoo had a very very bad feeling about this.
