Chapter Text

Kailey walk towards the aisle where the dairies are, she's doing grocery shopping. It's the 3rd week of June. She's stocking up for she know she can't get out of her apartment the next week. While strolling with her cart she found a very young girl who seems like she's lost. She was crying and she's also carrying a backpack while holding a teddy bear on her hand. The child's hair was in pigtails and she was wearing a denim overalls paired with a white t-shirt inside. She was concern for why would they leave a child more of a girl child all alone? 

She went to her. 

"Hello pretty." Kailey said softly to the kid. The kid seem weary. Of course, she is a stranger after all. 

"Hey, please don't be scared of me...I'm here to help you okay? What's your name?" Kailey said this now going down on her knees to face the kid directly. She gently held the younger's shoulders and arms to sort of give the child some comfort. She looked at the kid with her eyes that seems genuinely concerned for the younger's well-being. 

The kid took a deep breathe. Gently moving the tears that are streaming down her face. Collecting herself for awhile. Kailey helped her remove the tears. 

"My name is Suh Leia." The kid said responding to the question of the older.

"Well then now Leia, such a beautiful name. My name is Kailey. It's nice to meet you. Can I please ask where your parents are?" Kailey said while still reassuring her with a smile that she's not bad person.

"I only have my Daddy. He left for a while and..." The kid abruptly stopped talking like she's remembering that things that have just happened.

"Go on dear, please so that I can help you find your Daddy." Kailey said encouraging the younger giving her a pure smile.

"And then he told me to stay put because he has to answer a call. But I got distracted over a toy and I followed it then I lost my Daddy... It's my fault." Leia answered now back to crying because she's now realizing that it's her fault as to why he lost her Daddy.

"Hush, pretty girls don't cry my love. Stop crying please? People in here will think that I'm making you cry and you don't want them to look at me like I'm a bad person right?" Kailey said in attempt to stop the kid from crying. Once again wiping the tears out of her face. 

Leia looked at her and for moment stopped crying because she was afraid that what the older said will happen. She tried to compose herself but the thought of losing her Daddy made her cry again and this time it was so much worse. Kailey was alarmed by this. 

"Leia...Leia, right?" Kailey confirms.

The kid nodded.

"Okay breathe for me. Blow on me. C'mon. Inhale and Exhale. Blow. Once more yes, like that. Inhale...Exhale...Blow...Inhale once more. Yes, you're doing great for me. Exhale. Now once more. Blow on me one last time. There you go. Feel better now, Leia?" Kailey did the technique that she was also doing once in a while if she's having a panic attacks. Her grandmother taught her this. To blow so that she could breathe better. Kids do have more emotions that others that's why it's important to know how to make them feel better. 

"Yes, I feel much more better now." The kid answered.

"Now, I'll bring you the help center in this shopping mart so that your Daddy will know that you are still here inside and safe, alright? C'mon let me carry you." Kailey said now putting the child up using her one hand. The kid isn't that heavy so she it wasn't hard for her. She made sure that her grip on the child is secure before she walked and pushed her cart.

It didn't took that long for Kailey to find the help center she knew the ways through this mart because she has been going in here for the past 3 years ever since she moved in this part of Chicago. It's just a simple mart here in Illinois. She talked to the person that was in charge and it was announced in the whole mart. Now she and the kid are sitting beside each other in one of the seats. Kailey saw the kid staring at the door with a sad face probably waiting for her daddy to come. 

"Leia?" Kailey said to gain the child's attention.

"Hmm?" The child responded with a hum.

"Did you know that your name in Hawaiian means child of heaven?" Kailey said hoping the strike a conversation to the younger to cheer her up a little.

"Really?" The kid now piqued with interest on what the older is saying.

"Yes, so that means you are also very heavenly. Please don't be sad, okay? I'm sure your Daddy will come and get you. I have faith that he will do." Kailey said once again reassuring the younger. Gently moving her hand up and down on the child's back.

True to what Kailey said Leia's father arrived. With a worried face. Leia ran to her Daddy and immediately was welcomed with a hug. Kailey had the chance to observe the newcomer. He is very tall. Has a unique physique and looks very manly as well. A little older than her but who is she to judge? But she came to her senses when Leia lead her Daddy to her.

"Thank you so much for helping my daughter....uh... what's your name?" The man reached out his hand to her.

"Kailey, Bae Kailey. Nice to meet you, Mr. Suh?" She said careful on addressing the latter wrongly.

"Call me Johnny." The man said.

"It's no problem Johnny, I'm glad to have helped your daughter please do be careful next time okay? She was almost having a panic attack because she was afraid of losing you." Kailey said direct to the point telling the man what has happened.

"Yes, of course. Again, thank you so much Kailey. How can I repay you?" He asked.

"No need for you to do so. It's okay just promise me to take care of little Leia here." She said now patting the kid's head with a sweet smile. 

"Yes, you can count on me on that." Johnny said and Kailey just smiled. That was Kailey's cue to leave so she walked towards the door but before she left...

"I may not entirely know who you are but take it easy on yourself. Don't blame yourself too much in what happened." Kailey said not even looking to them and finally taking her leave.

Leaving Johnny stunt on as to how the woman knew what goes deep inside his head. He hugged his daughter one more time. Now carrying her. He picked up his child's stuffs and also leave. When he left the help center he was hoping to see any traces of the woman that has just helped them but there were none. 

That's how their first meeting happen. 

Chapter Text

Kailey woke up because of the pain that she's feeling in her lower stomach. It's time. It's that time of the month again. It's 1 am and it's July 24. Her period always starts during the 24th. Thankfully, she's prepared and already put on some tampons. The excruciating pain she's feeling is too much. It's too much to bear for her petite figure. She gripped her sheets so tightly. She's doing the method that her grandmother taught her. Making sure that she's breathing right. There was another wave of pain and it made her whimper. From laying in bed she changed her position into kneeling in front of her headboard. She's now holding her  pillows. She hates it when this happen. She'll never ever get used to this. It took a couple of minutes for the pain to subside and she's breathing normally again. She laid back down. She fell asleep then after.

It's been a 2 weeks since that happen. Kailey is functioning well now. Away from all of those pain that she's feeling and yet she's bored again. She's currently in the hospital having her monthly check-up just to make sure that she's alright. She's friends with her OB: Doctor Byun Bea. 

"What did you feel when you had your period a few weeks ago?" The doctor asks.

"Same as how the other months but weirdly it was more painful. I don't know why. It's almost the same as the pain that I've felt when I was 15 and that was almost 9 years ago." Kailey responded.

"I told you K, you should really try to do what I have been suggesting you these years." Her doctor friend reminded her.

"I don't know B, I still don't think I have the balls to do so." She retorted.

"I won't push you anymore because it is your body we are talking about but please do tell me if you ever do change your mind." Her friend says concernedly.

"Sure, B, but I really don't think I will." Kailey then said.

"What are you gonna do this month? You are free from your master's/bachelor's degree and I am pretty sure you are going to be bored." Bea said.

"Hmmm, I'll just let the wind direct me to where I will be, B. We both do know that I don't have to work." Kailey says.

"Yeah right, now go! I still have a next patient after you." Bea joked.

"Okaaaay, bye B!" Kailey said as she walked towards to the door.

"Byeee, K!" Her doctor friend responded.

She is now walking her way to her apartment. She stopped by a Cafe to just have some snacks and chill for a while. What her friend asked her lingered through her mind. She does indeed do not know what to do now after taking her masters. For a fact she just did them just so that she could do something. That's not her being ignorant that's just her wanting to learn. As she was walking the walkways she stepped into a piece of paper. Since she was concern as to why there was a trash, she picked it up and was about to throw it but she saw what was written inside.

"Looking for a tutor for a 5 years old in Kindergarten."

This gave her an idea. She did minor in Education and this will keep her pre-occupied from the time being. She then proceeded to call the number that was given. She was biting her thumb as the line was ringing. Then it got connected. 

"Hello this is Suh Johnny, speaking." The voice from the other line said.

To say that Kailey was shock will be an understatement. She put two and two together and then connected that dots. If the number she just called is from the Daddy of the little girl she helped a month ago then she must be the one who in need of tutoring! destiny...(maybe?)

"Hello? I don't have all the time in the world if this is just a prank call then I will end the call now." The man said in baritone voice.

"No, please don't." Kailey managed to say afraid to let the opportunity fly away.

"Hmm?" The other line responded.

"I'm actually applying for the tutor thing? For a 5 years old in Kindergarten, right?" She said in a small voice.

"Ah, yes yes. There is already an address in there so I suggest for you to go and join the interview that will be happening next Tuesday at 9:00am." The man said in cold demeanor. 

"Sure, see you then." She managed to say. She intentionally didn't say her name because she didn't want to take advantage for being a good samaritan to his child. She inhales and then exhales...

"Tuesday then." Kailey said to herself.

From the other side of the line Johnny was trying to process the voice from the call that he just ended. He feels as if he heard it before. Like it was voice that he has been trying to find. Not really literally but the voice felt familiar in a way. I guess he would have just to see in Tuesday then on who is the owner of that infamous voice.

That's how their second interaction happened.

Chapter Text

Johnny was interviewing the 7th candidate for his daughter's tutor and none of them suit his taste. It's either they want to go sleep with him or just use him for money. Johnny does not judge people but the way these said applicants dressed themselves was enough for Johnny not to hire them. Johnny sighed. Letting the folder filled with resumes to be placed on his table. 

Johnny leaned back on his sit. Truth be told he won't actually be this hands-on if it's just one of those business proposals but this is his daughter, his Leia that we're talking about and he swore that he would give his absolute best for his child. It's getting hard for Johnny to balance his time for work and his child. Now that the school hours are longer compared to last year he wasn't sure if he can still pick up his child. Before the child's school will end at exactly 12nn and that is lunch time so Johnny can get out and pick her up. But now her classes starts from 8:30am-1:30pm. He still can bring her to school but her out time is hard for Johnny. He doesn't know how long he can stop his meetings that will happen around 1:30pm-2:00pm. So he needs someone that will not just help his kid on her studies but to pick her up. Johnny's thoughts vanished when he heard some commotion outside.

"I'm really sorry for being late but I have a valid reason and I badly need this job. Please, let me in." A woman said in Johnny's head this is the voice that he heard in the call that one he has been waiting for this past hour.

"We are no longer accepting participants anymore." His secretary responds.

"But why? Have you picked someone already?" The other voice said defenseless.

Johnny decided to step in and to his shock he saw that the owner of the voice was no other than the woman who helped his daughter before. Maybe that's why it was kind of familiar. He compose himself.

"Let her in." Johnny said coldly before entering his office yet again.

After hearing the door closed, Johnny spoke.

"Bae Kailey, if I remember correctly right?" He said now facing the woman. He observed her. She was wearing decent clothes. A white buttoned-up polo and a long skirt. Her brunette hair is beautifully tied up with braids as well. She was wearing black heels. Her hazel eyes stood up. 

"Yes, uhm... here's my resume." Kailey said while putting her folder in Johnny's desk.

"Please take a sit. Now, can I ask you why you were late?" Johnny asked curiously.

Kailey took a deep breathe. 

"Uhm, it's because my car broke down in North Elston Avenue and I had to walk from there." Kailey said.

"You could have taken a train or bus. If you really wanted to come here in time you would've think of other options Ms. Bae." Johnny said with firmness in his voice.

"That's the problem, Sir. The train was practically full because of the rush hour and the while the bus.. there were some elderly who's taking a trip in here and their bus broke down so they actually occupied the available buses that were near." Kailey reasoned out.

"Now, can I ask how did you get here then?" Johnny asked suspicious.

"I walked- No, I actually ran." Kailey then said.

Johnny was shocked that's some serious determination there. It will take you hours to come from N. Elston Ave from here in Millennium Park. 

"So you mean to say you ran for almost hours just to get the job of being a tutor here?" Johnny asked fazed.

"Yes, Sir." Kailey said with a smile.

"Why? Are you really in need of a job to do so? I've seen your records you graduated from a fine university. Why settle for a job like this?" Johnny asks trying to knock some sense of this woman.

"To answer you as to why it's because I really have nothing to do with my life and this could be an opportunity for me to know if I could actually be a teacher. A training ground one if one may say. I don't really get as to why they get people that are fresh graduates and asks them to have 2 years of work experience because hello? make it make sense. Logic aside, Mind you sir. I am not settling for a job like this. All jobs in my perspective are all equal. So please don't dictate my decisions in life." Kailey said voicing out her opinions.

"But.." Johnny was about to say something but he was cut off.

"Also, your child. Somewhat I feel some connection with her and I cannot understand why but I do. So please let me have this job. I promise that I'll take care of her." Kailey confessing now looking at Johnny with her puppy eyes.

Johnny sighed defenseless. He does have a good feeling about her being the one taking care of his child. It will do him no harm to trust this stranger in front of him right? 

"Sure, let's talk about the details Ms. Bae." Johnny then said after deciding.

"So, a little recap is you want me to not just tutor your child from 2:00-6:00pm but also fetch her from school? Right?" Kailey asked.

"Yes, why is there any problem Ms. Bae?" Johnny asked hoping that there won't be any problem because he doesn't want to set another interview date and go through a bunch of people again.

"May I ask where do you live Sir? I have to consider this factor and where does Leia study?" Kailey asked she wanted this job but her home is far away from Millennium Park and if she has to fetch the kid she has to leave her house early.

"We live in Lincoln Park. Leia studies in Lincoln Park Preschool and Kindergarten. Do you have any more questions?" Johnny revealed. 

Kailey smiled. Lincoln Park isn't that far away from her house. Just a 25-30 minute drive. If her car is working that is. 

"No, Sir. I have none." Kailey responds.

"So is it a deal then, Ms. Bae?" Johnny says reaching out his hand.

"It is a deal, Sir Suh." Kailey answered meeting to reach her hands with the man.

And there it is their hands finally found it's way to each other. Both eager to know what await them after this. Johnny then let go and so did Kailey. 

"You may take your leave now, we'll see you in Thursday. You don't have to pick her up just yet I still need to re-introduce the both of you to each other." Johnny reminded.

"Yes, of course. See you then." Kailey then responded.

She turned her back and was already in the door when Johnny spoke again.

"Ms. Bae?"

"Hmm?" Kailey hummed and turn to look at her new boss.

"Did you ran all the way here wearing that?" Johnny asked.

"No! No, of course not. I changed in one of your comfort rooms. I really can't run while wearing heels don't you think?" Kailey said with a sneaky smile.

"Makes sense. Goodbye, Ms. Bae." 

"Goodbye, Sir Suh."

It's the third meeting.

Chapter Text

Kailey is feeling so much. It's Thursday today and it's the day the she will officially start working as a tutor for Leia. Kailey checked herself in the mirror again. She's wearing a high waist beige pants and a sage top. She braided half of her hair as well. She did put a little of make-up just so that she won't look pale. She checked her clock and saw that it's already 1:10pm. She needs to leave already. Johnny already sent her their address so all she have to do is go in there. She puts on her coat. She then got inside her car (that she got fixed yesterday) and started driving already.

Kailey reached her destination with just a 20 min drive. There were less traffic, thankfully. She got out of her car and then rang the doorbell. There was a guard who opened the gates and then she looked at the house. It was big alright. But not too big that is seems like a castle already. 

"Excuse me miss, but who are you?" The guard the asks making Kailey stop from her thoughts.

"Hello, Good afternoon. My name is Kailey and I think Sir Suh already said that someone will come today as the tutor of his child. That'll be me." Kailey said with a gentle smile on her face. 

The guard was shocked. The woman have such a beautiful and contagious smile. The guard then directed her inside the house. Kailey sat into one of the couches in the living room after removing her coat. Mentally preparing herself for what's bound to come and hoping that she won't mess up. She took a deep breaths. Someone then proceeded to give her some orange juice. May be one of the helpers of the house. She muttered a "thanks" to the person that gave her the drink and the latter just nodded. 

Any minute now...

She then heard the opening of the gate. Meaning to say that the Father and Daughter are already home. The door opened and there it revealed the two. She stood up. Kailey couldn't helped but smile when she saw the young figure. Johnny directed his kid going to her. Kailey saw a shock evident on the child's face. 

"Leia, my love. Do you remember her?" Johnny then asks now on his knees to make sure he and his child are on the same level.

"Yes, Daddy! She's the nice lady that helped me before." Leia said with a little giggles.

"Hi, Leia." Kailey said with such a sweet smile. The kids face lightens.

"Now, what would you do if tell you that she'll be your new tutor?" Johnny asked his child.

"Really? The nice lady will be my new tutor?" Leia asks back.

"Yes, she will." Johnny answered.

Leia moved towards Kailey's direction. She's looking at the older as if she's not real. 

"Are you really going to be my tutor?" Leia says.

"Yes baby. I will be." Kailey answered now patting Leia's head. 

"I'm really sorry but I have to go now. I have a meeting still." Johnny said.

"Sure, sure. You may go now sir." Kailey responds.

"Please take care of her for me. I'll see you later at around 6:00pm okay?" Johnny muttered.

"Of course, I will. Now go." Kailey said.

Kailey watched as the tall figure walked towards the door. Finally leaving.

Now it's been around 30 minutes ever since Johnny left and Leia is nowhere to be found. Kailey kept asking the child if she have some assignments but the child just ignored her. This is what Johnny told her as to why Leia needs a tutor. She refused to do her assignments and rarely participates in her class. Johnny can't kept tabs on her because he is super busy with work. Johnny also said that she would rather play all day rather than to attend school. If the Father of the child can't get the kid to study how much more Kailey? But she isn't one to give up easily. She was also told that the kid will sulk if you try to trick her into studying. Kailey took deep breaths. 

"Leia? Hello? Where are you?" It's harder for Kailey to find the kid for she doesn't know that ways of the house. She's already in the 2nd floor of the house. 

She found the kid in her room. It was easy for Kailey to know that it's her room because she have some pink door and also her name was also placed there. The kid was just playing with her dolls. 

"Leia, come on now. We can play later after we finish your assignments, okay?" Kailey said trying to convince the child.

"No! Don't want." Leia said abruptly.

Kailey sighed. Leia seemed to notice it too. The child stopped playing and went to her.

"You won't leave just because I don't want to do my assignments, right?" Leia says.

"I won't but your Dad might fire me if we don't do your assignments." Kailey answered.

Leia just stood in front of her. The later she went to her bed. In the corner. Kailey's senses tingle she feels as if the kid will cry any moment from now. 

And yup she did. Kailey instantly went to her. Comfort the child. 

"Please don't cry, Leia. Oh my goodness." Kailey says.

"All of you....*sniffs* are just the same. All of you only leaves....*sniffs* me in the end. I'm all alone." Leia said in between of her sobs.

And believe it or not Kailey knows that feeling. That's the same thing that has been happening all of her life. She fears losing people but she still end up losing them. She hugged the child tighter. Trying to compose her emotions because this is about the child not her. 

"C'mon Leia. Remember what I told you before? Inhale...Exhale and then blow? Can you do it for me again?" She let go of her embrace to the child but still holding her sides. She looked at the kid in her eyes and the kid just nodded. 

The child then inhaled, exhaled and moving on blown some air to her face. This repeated for a few times and Kailey kept on assisting her until the kid's breathing is back to normal. Kailey removed the dried tears from the younger's face. Then smiled at her.

"Feel better? Hmm?" Kailey asked as she moves tucks that hair that is on the kid's face unto her ear. 

"Yes, so much better!" The kid said with a smile.

"Uhm..." Kailey doesn't know if it's right to ask but whatever.

"Hmm?" Leia responds.

"Can you tell me why you don't like school in general? I mean if its alright with you." Kailey asks not really expecting anything at this point. Now, she asked for Leia to lay down in her bed and she's half laying down as well. Still assisting the younger.

"It's because almost all of the kids in school have their mums fetching them. Their mums packing their lunch or snacks for them. When there's a program all of the other kids have there complete family while me. I know that Daddy is working hard for us but most times he's also not there when I have activities in school. That's why I don't like it. It just reminds me on how much of a loser I am. There's also no one that wants to be friends with me because you know Daddy is one of those big scary boss. They're afraid I'm like that as well." Leia said. Sighing after. 

Kailey felt her heart tugged. How long was the kid keeping this? Sadly, Kailey can relate to the child's situation. She run her hands to child's figure. She's trying so hard to not cry in front of the kid. She then realized that the child fell asleep maybe tired from all that crying. She gently moved away from the bed and unconsciously she didn't know that she kid was holding her finger with the entirety of Leia's hands. She had no choice but to not leave. She just looked at the child. Hoping to ease away the pain that she's been feeling. She relates to the child so much. She's gonna make sure that the child won't feel that way ever again while she's still her tutor.

It's 4pm now. Kailey left the child's room almost an hour ago. She's now baking something. Chocolate chip cookies. Johnny did inform her that she could use the equipment that are provided in this house so here she is now. Baking one of her most favorite cookies. This could be a reward for the kid after the do Leia's assignments. Yes, she's still not yet giving up on that one. She heard someone coming down the stairs and she assumes that it's Leia.

"Hello? Ms. Bae? Where are you?" Leia asks.

"Leia, Baby, I'm in the kitchen." Kailey said a little louder so that the child know where she is. It didn't take that long for Leia to find her. She's just filling the batter with chocolate chips. Leia sat on one of the stools in kitchen island.

"What are you doing?" Leia then said.

"Hmm.. baking some cookies." Kailey said. She already chilled the batter before she puts the chocolate chips she does it that way. After finishing up the batter that she scooped it and formed it into a shape of a circle in the baking pan that is covered with parchment paper. Leia was just watching her silently. She put the pan inside the oven. Now, they just have to wait for 12 minutes.

"Now, Leia. I baked those cookies as a reward for you." Kailey said now facing the kid.

"Reward? Huh for what?" The kid asks confusingly. 

"You will get the reward if we do your assignments. My love." Kailey said with a sneaky smile on her face.

"Ms. Bae, okay fine. I have been wanting to eat home-baked cookies for a while now." Leia said knowing that she lost.

"So is that a 'yes'?" Kailey needs the confirmation of course. She didn't want to push the child to study.

"Yes, Ms. Bae." Leia said with a smile.

They are now doing their 5th assignment. Now, while eating the chocolate chip cookies that Kailey baked. Kailey knew that the child is smart she just needed a little push to not be lazy and so that's why they are almost finish for today. It's 5 in the afternoon now. Leia was just now coloring her project with her right hand tightly gripping the color and the other with a cookie that she occasionally munched on. She left this project for the last one because the kid was the most excited to do this. She took her time in assisting Leia. Never raised her voice on her. She couldn't tempt to raise her voice to anyone. That's what her grandmother taught her. She has been very patient with anyone and at everything. She doesn't lose her cool that easily. 

And after an hour and half they are already finished with everything. Especially the chocolate chip cookies. She is now fixing the books, notebooks, colors and papers that is scattered before in the table now carefully putting in the child's bag. Leia is now just watching TV sitting on the sofa with a teddy bear on her side. Kailey couldn't help but smile. 

They heard the door open. Leia rushed to go to her Daddy while Kailey was already fixing her things now. She removed her glasses and puts it on to its case. She put the string of her bag unto her shoulder now preparing to leave. 

"Ms. Bae? Can we please talk outside?" Johnny said.

"Sure, I'll wait for you there." Kailey said now getting her coat in the racket beside the door. She went outside. Feeling the chilly wind since it's already night time. 

"Ms. Bae, how was it?" Johnny asked.

"It went fine, Sir. Well, actually me and Leia only got to her assignments around 4 in the afternoon because she slept for a while." Kailey responds.

"Wait? She did her assignments?" Johnny says not believing what he just heard.

"Yes, she did." Kailey retorted.

"How did you-How did you do that?" Johnny asks still shocked.

"By bargaining. I baked her some cookies and I told her that she could only have one if she finishes all of her assignments but that would be a lie because the she already ate them while doing those said assignments." Kailey answered.

"Wow, thank you so much." Johnny says.

"No you don't have to thank me. I'm just doing my job Sir. Leia is a good kid. She was just feeling somethings about school." Kailey replies.

"Like what things?" Johnny asked curiously.

"Like when those kids have their mums packing their lunch or when the children's parents are present during school programs." Kailey said and she saw a glint of pain in Johnny's eyes because of what she just said.

"I-what...." Johnny didn't know how to respond.

"Take it easy, Sir. Leia doesn't blame you. She knows that you're trying so hard to have put food in your table. She's a good kid. She's just longing maybe from you. Try to talk to her. She opens up once she sees that you're really interested in what she's about to say." Kailey says.

"Thank you much, Ms. Bae." Johnny says with an exhale.

"You don't have to thank me but you are welcome, Sir Suh. I have to take my leave now. Goodbye, just tell Leia I left already." Kailey tells.

She got out of the gate and went to her car. She was about to go but there she saw Johnny and Leia in the door gate. The kid waving her goodbye. She opened her car window and bid the kid goodbye as well. 

"So, what did you think about her huh?" Johnny said still facing the back of Kailey's car.

"Daddy......

I think I like her." Leia said.

Johnny couldn't believe what her daughter just said. She wasn't really that open to a lot of people and tend to have walls. She got that from him obviously but what surprised him is how the woman can pass easily through his child's wall. He hope she won't hurt his child. Johnny hopes that it is the only his child's wall that are being stumbled down upon the arrival of this woman in their lives. Well, Johnny could only hope.

That's Kailey's first day.

Chapter Text

When Kailey entered this job she haven't completely thought about what would happen if it's already that time of the month. Now, she's facing a crisis on what happened on the 24th. It's still a week before that happens but that doesn't stop he from overthinking things. She got out of her house and went to the Suh residences.

Her sessions with Leia has been going on smoothly. She and Leia are already comfortable in each, hence, why the kid is sleeping now on her lap. She's slowly streaking the kid's hair. She's now just watching the cartoons that kid has left watching. The kid was tired because today was an active day for them.  It's already 5:30pm. The child's father will come anytime soon. 

True to what Kailey said she heard the sound of the car engine turning off. She still can't get off though. She doesn't want to wake up the kid. Johnny went inside and there he saw the view of his child with her tutor. Sleeping so peacefully. The tutor smiled at him.

"Hi." Kailey said faintly with a smile. That sweet smile that Johnny has been coming home into these past few weeks. 

"Hello." Johnny responds. He went into her and got his child carefully. He couldn't refrain his hand from touching the woman's skin and that made Johnny feel some kind of electricity. After that Kailey already stood up. Fixing the things on the desk while Johnny took his daughter into her room. After doing so he went back down again. Kinda hoping in the back of his head that the tutor is still there to talk to her. 

"Ms. Bae?" Johnny said when he saw the woman still fixing some things in her bag. The woman looked up to him.

"Yes, Sir?" Kailey responds.

"I just want to thank you. Leia's teachers called me and said that they showed a lot of improvement these past we weeks. So yeah, thank you so much." Johnny said truthfully. He didn't miss when he saw how the woman's face lit up because of what he just said.

"Oh wow. I want to say that I'm just doing my job but it certainly is more than that. It feels weird knowing that I actually helped her. It feels as though I grew with her." Kailey says still with a bright smile on her face. 

"And as her Father I really do want to say that I appreciate you Ms. Bae." Johnny then said now with a smile on his face.

The lady seldom see the guy smile so it shocked her a little bit but she reciprocated it with a brighter smile on her face. If someone will actually walk in on them right now they'll find it weird but this is their little moment. The lady was the first to come back to her senses and she actually put her bag into her shoulders. 

"I have to get going now. Sir Suh. Goodnight, uhm... Johnny." Kailey said her nerves coming thru her at the moment what was i thinking why did i say that .

"Sure, Goodnight to you as well Kailey." Johnny responds.

It took a moment for Kailey to process that. What the heck just happened? She's already inside of her car and her face now in the steering wheel. She feels so embarrassed right now.

It's been a few days now after that incident happen. She's now on her way to Kailey's school to pick her up. She's wearing a skirt today. A off-white skirt that just goes below the knees paired with a soft green polo top. She has been doing this for the past few weeks but it still gives her some nerves when she knows that there are other moms who are eyeing her. It was so obvious but she managed to shrug it off. She saw Leia running to her. She welcomed the child with open arms. Leia was proudly showing off that she got stars on the back of her hand and a paper that has an A+ in it. The tutor complimented the child. Saying that she did well. She then fixed the child's seat on the back of her car. After making sure that the child is comfortable she went to the driver seat. It's one of those regular days but Kailey's heart feels so full. After tutoring the kid she attempted to tell Johnny that she could be absent for a few days. 

It's 1 am again of the 24th of August. Here comes her most dreaded day every month. That only means that her period is coming to her. The first gush was eventually one of the most painful other than the second day. She thank the heavens that it was a Sunday and she won't go to work. 

It's eventually the second day of her period and it's currently 12:30am. Yet, she's wide awake. She knows for a fact that she cant go to work today and tomorrow. Her period usually last around 3 days. Her period is on regular so she knows. She reached for her phone on her bedside table and search Johnny's number on contact list. She called him. Even though she knows it's really late at night or early in the morning. She feels bad but she has to say this. The line was just ringing for a solid minute until Johnny answered the other line.

"Hello?....Ms. Bae?" Johnny said it a husky voice obviously waking up from his sleep. If this was just any normal day Kailey would have freaked out but she care less about that now.

"Sir Suh? I'm sorry to call this late but I just have to say that I can't come to work today and tomorrow. I'm really sorry if I told you this at such a tight time but I just really couldn't." Kailey managed to speak while still gripping on her sheets tightly. Afraid to let out any sounds of some sort. 

"Sure, Yes, Of course Ms. Bae. But I would really appreciate if you tell me this beforehand and not a this time ungodly hour. I'll let you pass this time." Johnny says still in his husky bed voice.

"Thank you and goodbye. Rest well, Sir." After saying that she the pain kicked in a lot more. F her second day she hates it the most. This is the where she can't literally move because the pain keep coming every 2 minutes or so. She only doesn't feel it when she's asleep. She let out a whimper and after realizing she ended the call so fast that she swore she would have beaten the flash. She groaned a little louder this time knowing that no one can hear her. Gosh, she just wished for this to be over soon.

However, on the other side of the line Johnny couldn't help but stare in front of him with shock. He knew what he just heard but he just shrugged it off and thought maybe he's just still high from his sleep. He then laid down on his bed. He couldn't help but worry. This is the first time that Kailey won't go to work. So it must be something very important right? With a head full of thoughts he fell asleep. 

And that's how they talked with each other at 12:30am. The woman trying to not let the other know her pain. While the other has a head that is full of thoughts and worry.

Chapter Text

After that incident, Kailey is no back to her regular programming. Leia says that she missed her a lot and that made Kailey's heart flutter with so much joy. She knows that she has to tell Johnny sooner or later. Especially when she checked that the 24th of September will be landing on a Wednesday. The middle of the week. She needs to tell it to Johnny. She just think the latter will find it weird but it's something that she can't hide forever. 

She just finished tutoring the child and now she's on her way home. She bid her goodbyes to the both of them. She is now parking inside's Johnny's house. Johnny approached her and said that it was okay so the two are now watching her. She was starting the car's engine already but it's not working. Just great. How is she supposed to go home this time around? Night rush hour is also around this time and she can't commute going home. 

"Ms. Bae?" Johnny asked. Her car window is still open so he knows she can hear him. Kailey faced Johnny with a meek smile.

"I don't think my car is working..." Kailey says honestly. She needs to come home because she has some errands to run to tomorrow and she can't cancel on it.

"Uhmm.." Johnny muttered.

"What is it?" Kailey said sweetly.

"This may sound absurd but if you really need to go home then I can send you home, you know using my car." Johnny said sweats starting to form in his hands. Even him does not know why he's nervous. Kailey finds it adorable. 

"Sure, but on one condition." Kailey said more cheerfully now.

"And that is?" Johnny asks.

"We will bring little Leia with us!" Kailey said. She knows she cannot just be on the car with her boss alone. The feelings on her chest will erupt if that would ever happen. So is she using Leia as an excused to not feel embarrassed and flustered in front of her boss? Yes, that's exactly what she's doing.

"Do you hear that baby? Teacher Kailey is asking if you can join us while I bring her home? What do you say?" Johnny asks his child.

"Leia will come!" The kid muttered and Kailey found her adorable. 

And that's how they end up driving her into her home. Her apartment isn't something fancy she just lives on the 3 floor. Leia is currently sitting on her lap. She's seated in the shotgun seat and Johnny is the one driving and oh Johnny driving is such a sight. She couldn't help but stare. The CEO looks so calm. She's telling Johnny the directions. Leia is just looking at the road. Fascinated with the places they are passing by. She is back-hugging the child. She feel so comfortable. 

She does admit that such a young time with the child she became fond of the younger. She just sees herself in the younger and that's why she's trying her absolute best to not let the child feel the emotions she once have felt. She tugged her closer to her. Little did they know that Johnny was also looking fondly at them. Johnny feels something on his chest when he sees his daughter so intimate with the tutor. It makes his heart feel so full. His thoughts are interrupted when...

"Johnny, go right. We are almost near my home." Kailey says and then Johnny followed her direction only realizing that...

"You live in Forest Glen?" Johnny couldn't help but asked for he knows this place this where almost those old rich money people live. So to say that the tutor of his child lives here can be some kind of irony.

"That I do. And I know that you probably have some questions but you need to head back home already. Leia is feeling a bit sleepy." Kailey said hoping that she could sway away the topic. Johnny drove and he was stopped right in front of the gate. Security check. He opened his windowpane and was welcomed with the guard.

"Hello Sir, what can we do for you?" The guard asked before Johnny could even answer...

"Good evening Mike! He's with me. He's taking me home. My car broke down. That's why." Kailey says with a smile revealing her self.

"Oh, Good evening as well Ms. Kailey. Sure, I'll let you pass through." The guard responds.

Soon after Kailey told Johnny to stop the car once they arrived in front of the apartment building that she lives in. Most apartments here in Forest Glen has only a maximum of 3-6 floors and the building that she is currently living on only has 3. Meaning to say she lives in the top floor. She bid the child goodbye as she slowly put her in the backseat. Leia kissed her cheek. She admits that she became more intimate and affectionate with the child so she just let her be. To her surprise Johnny also went out of the car. She arched a brow on the man.

"Needed to make sure that you'll get inside safe." Johnny slightly said. Kailey is trying so hard to suppress her smile. 

"Oh c'mon Johnny, you already send me here. You can leave now." Kailey simply said. 

"Not until you went inside. I insist. What floor do you live in?" Johnny asks.

"I live in the 3rd floor. Now, off you go." Kailey said shooing Johnny away.

"Go up first. Goodnight, Kailey."

"Goodnight as well, Johnny." 

She went inside her apartment. Kailey thought that Johnny wouldn't know that she owns the entire 3rd floor of this building. Because the first two floors are actually occupied with rooms. But hers looks like a penthouse. 

She was about to go to bed when she remembered something. Her car. What about her car? She then pressed the call button on Johnny's number. 

"Hello?" Johnny asked.

"Hi, It's me. I know that you just brought me home but what would happen to my car? I think I need it like you know to fetch your daughter?" Kailey rambles.

"How about this Ms. Bae. I'll send your car to the auto repair shop tomorrow. And I'll directly drive it there. What time do you need it?" Johnny said.

"Around 9 am? I'm sorry if it's early but I have a doctor's appointment at around 10 am tomorrow so..." Kailey said following a sigh.

"I'm not that busy tomorrow I'll make sure that you can have your car around 9 am tomorrow." Johnny responds.

"Thank you much, Johnny." Kailey says. Oh haven't she told you? She's allowed to call her boss just Johnny now and she also allowed Johnny to call her just Kailey. 

"Always welcome for you, Kailey." Johnny said with a soft voice. 

"Goodnight..." Kailey says on the other line.

"Goodnight." Johnny replied. The both of them will be getting a good night sleep.

Kailey woke up at around 8am. She needs to fix herself already. She ate some breakfast first then took a bath right after. She then decided what to wear. She decided to wear a mom jeans and a fitted green top. If isn't obvious already her favorite color is any shade of green. She also loves beige. She blow dried her hair and tied it into a pony. She looks good and she feels good about herself. She needs to ask Johnny about her not coming to work during 24-26. She forgot to tell him this during the day of the interview so now's a good time to tell him. She then wore her favorite necklace that her grandmother gifted her during her 18th birthday. 

It wasn't that long when she received a text from Johnny saying that he's already in front of her apartment building. She grabbed her back and went downstairs.

"Hey." Johnny greets.

"Hello, thank you again for taking my car at the auto-repair shop." Kailey says.

"It's all good." Johnny says.

"Hey, I know that you need to go back to the company right? How about I drop you off there then I just can take myself on the way to the hospital?" Kailey asks.

"Are you sure though?" Johnny asked.

"Of course." Kailey answered with a sweet smile.

"Then off the Neo Corp. We go!" Johnny with a bit of enthusiasm on his voice. Kailey couldn't help but giggle.

After a while...

"Spill it." Johnny said. Kailey was mortified. Johnny said those words with so much authority. Did he notice how she's fidgeting with her fingers. Kailey took a deep breath. It's now or never.

"You see Johnny remember when you said that if I have to take a leave I must do it beforehand?" Kailey uttered.

"Hmm, Yes I remember. Why are you gonna ask for a leave again?" Johnny replied.

"Yes, I will but I'm actually asking about many leaves here." Kailey said looking down on her lap with her hands placed also down there.

"What do you mean?" Johnny asked confusingly.

"Uhm, I'm asking on leave during the 24th to the 26th of each month." Kailey said. This made Johnny wonder because this was also the same dates where Kailey took her leave the firs time.

"If I'm going to allow you, I might need to have your reason Ms. Bae." Johnny said.

"I'm sorry Sir Suh. This is very private and personal thing so I don't think I can share it you." Kailey responds. Well, atleast not now. 

"I won't push you to tell me but you must tell Leia that you will be gone. She practically almost throwed a tantrum the first time you were gone." Johnny said.

"Sure, I'll tell your daughter. Thank you again." Kailey says. 

Of course Johnny let her through. Even though he was so curious as to why, It's not his place to push the lady. Kailey thanked the heavens for not letting Johnny ask more questions. 

The real reason as to why Johnny let it through is because he can't seem to say no to the lady. Truthfully, he knows that he became fond of her as well. 

Chapter Text

The last 2 months where a blur. It's already November. It's the winter season already if one may say. Yet, here she is still on her bed because it's the 24th of the month. It's a Monday and yet here she is suffering from immense pain. It's worse because the pain is really excruciating. She just wants the ground to swallow her whole. Her friend Dr. Bea says that it's just normal. Nothing to worry about but she never felt this much pain before on her first day. She is so pale. She just knows. She's sweating too even though it's really cold already. She grabbed her blanket and covered it around her. Tough luck. She only pray that this pain will be over soon.

Someone was knocking on her door. She mentally cursed the person outside. She can't get out of bed. It's already her 3rd day and yes the pain may have already subside but it's very much because of the fact that she's lazy to get out of bed. But she has no choice anyways. With a grunt escaping her lips she went out of bed and went to her front door. And oh to her surprise...

"Hello, My love!" The man outside said and kissed her forehead.

"What the hell are you doing here?" Kailey said with annoyance.

"Is that how you greet me now huh?" The man then said.

"Ugh, it's not that you know that I'm lazy and YOU out of all people know that I'm on my period during these dates and that's when you decided to visit me so now tell me am I suppose to greet you with so much enthusiasm?" Kailey said (yes this is Kailey's personality when she's with one of the closest people in her life. It's not like they are many though.) 

"Oh kay fine, you win. I'm sorry my dearest cousin please bear with me and do not worry I am just only visiting you knowing how lonely you are." Choi Ethan said with a touch of sarcasm. Yes, her cousin. The only distant relative she have. Ethan is his 2nd cousin. Her Father's cousin is Ethan's Mother. That's why.

"Back to my question how lovely for you to visit me but what do you want?" Kailey says still fighting the urge to smack her cousin.

"Okay, really though. I'm just stopping by. I will go to New Orleans tonight. I just wanted to have a quick stop and check on you. My cousin tingles are getting on me." Ethan says.

"And that is the reason why I can't hate you hehe." Kailey said back to her cheerful self now.

"Now now, what do you want?" Ethan asks.

"Can you drive me outside? Take me to a store wanna buy some ice cream and it will be your treat! And yes asshole even though I hate to admit it, I missed you ass well." Kailey muttered.

"See, this is who you are. Just sweet to me when you need something. Let's go." Ethan finally giving up and putting his one arm on Kailey's shoulder. She's already used with this knowing that his cousin is kind of a player.

They went out of the ice cream parlor when suddenly Kailey felt some pain on her lower stomach. Did she move too much? Argh, it's still her 3rd day after all. Ethan seemed to notice this and stopped from his tracks.

"Hey, you okay?" Her cousin asks. Kailey kept holding her lower stomach. Using her cousin's big figure to keep her from standing. 

"Erm no, take me home please it hurts so much." Kailey says about to tear up because she feels as if her lower stomach is gonna break her in half. 

"I'll carry you okay?" Ethan asked with concern on his voice. He knows that his cousin's period can get tough. Kailey only nodded and he carried her bridal style. They soon went inside the car and went home. 

Little did they know that Johnny saw them. This must be the reason why she's absent. To spend more time with someone else. Maybe she has another job. Knowing that the girl lives in one of the richest residences in all of Chicago and that can say why Johnny heard almost a moan like sound the first time she asks to have a leave during their call. Johnny smiled bitterly at the thought forming from his head. He didn't want to think badly of the woman but during these past few months the woman rarely shared anything to him. There he thought they finally have some connection. To his dismay, it was only a thought.

Kailey felt the changes in the way Johnny treat her after her leave. She thought she's finally on his good side. She wants to asks him why the sudden change of demeanor but is she even ready to hear the answer? Now, she's just waiting for Johnny to come home. He texted her saying they have to talk about something and she doesn't know why she's nervous. She heard the echoes f the car wheels knowing that the head of this house has arrived.

Johnny comes inside and there she was sitting pretty. But Johnny shrugged at the thought. She does not belong to you. His inner voice attempting to let his guard up and sure it did work. Johnny just pointed his office inside the home and he knows that she could follow. Johnny was the first one to went in there. Kailey took a deep breathe, well she guess here goes nothing. 

"I won't beat around the bush. I need to talk to you about something important." Johnny said in his cold voice. He can see that the woman was startled.

"O...Okay." Was all Kailey can say.

"I will be gone for almost 3 weeks. Starting December 1st. Meaning to say next week Monday. There will be a summit that only happens every 5 years that's why I need to come there. The only problem is I could bring Leia with me but she still have her school. Now, what I'm proposing to you is that can you at least please stay during the time that I'm away and take care of Leia?" Johnny said with firmness.

"So, you mean to say I would have to take care of Leia while you're away like you mean stay here? Wake her up and send her to school? And then put her into bed for about what? 3 weeks? and on December 1st? Can I ask where you are going and what date will you be able to come home?" Kailey asks. She knows that Leia's school end on the 2nd week of December but can she be left alone with his child for that long? 

"Yes to all of that, Ms. Bae. The summit will be held in France and I will be home around the 19th or 20th of December. Do not worry I've already told Leia that I will be home during the holidays. I still have to celebrate Christmas with her or else she would be throwing tantrums all over. I'm sorry to notify this late. So, do you agree? You can say no of course." Johnny replies.

"I agree. Just promise that you'll be home before the holidays. I have some stuff to do during that time." Kailey said. It's a lie though she don't have anything to do because during the holidays she will just be watching Christmas theme movies on Netflix with the comfort of her bed. Because duh it's her period and she despises it so much that she can't fully enjoy the said season because of it. She used to love Christmas when she was a kid but that all go off to waste with the arrival of her said period.

"I promised my child, I'll come home before the said holiday Ms. Bae. You don't have to worry about it." Johnny says seemed like annoyed and Kailey was trying to keep herself from tearing up, she hates being treated like this but as if she has the nerve to ask why. So she just sucked it all up.

The past 3 weeks happened so fast. It feels weird for her to wake up every morning and with Leia on her side. The child kinda convinced her to sleep next to her and who is she to reject the little sweetheart?

Contrary to what Johnny promised he didn't come home during the 19th or 20th he had to stay for there was a lot going on. It's the 23rd already and Kailey is mortified. She can't let her period come while she's still in Johnny's home. She can even barely walks once the pain starts to kick in especially during her 2nd day. She tried to call Johnny.

"Hello? Sir Suh? What time will you arrive?" Kailey asked.

"I'll be boarding late in the afternoon. I'm sorry for not keeping my word Ms. Bae but please don't leave my child all alone." Johnny says. One of the reason he's gonna come home late it was because it was hard to book a flight back home considering that it's already the holidays. 

"I won't leave your child. Sir Suh." Kailey says.

"Thank you, I have to get going now." Johnny says before hanging up the call. It's gonna happen what Kailey has been avoiding to happen and she just wants to disappear this instant.

Johnny came home at around 12:30 am. It's already the 24th of December. He managed to make it on time for the Christmas eve. Johnny's house was dark when he went inside. The only thing lighting up was the Christmas tree that if he remembers correctly was designed and up put by Kailey. He was walking silently and went up to visit his daughter. He was shocked to see that the kid's door was open. As soon as he walked in Leia came running to him.

"Daddy! Daddy! Please help Ms. Kailey. She's suffering from pain." Leia said and right when his child says that he dropped his back that he's been holding and look at the woman that was laying in his child's bed holding her lower stomach and looks like she really is suffering from immense pain. He rushed to the woman's side keeping her from falling. The woman was whimpering, groaning and grunting. Whatever it is. 

"Hey, Hey, Kailey? Come on breathe with me. Inhale. Exhale now please blow. One more time. Yes, you're doing well." He managed to tell the woman. He learned this because of the said woman now he's using it to her and the woman simply obliged.

"I will send you at the hospital, okay?" Johnny asked but Kailey just moved her head sideward signifying "No". 

"What do you want me to do then?" Johnny asks kindly. Kailey just grunted once more.

"Okay, I'll just call a doctor friend okay?" Johnny says.

"OB, call an OB." Kailey managed to say still suffering from the first wave of menstruation pain. Johnny went to it already.

He called a doctor friend Dr. Lee asking if he can send of their best OB's saying that there has been an emergency and now he just have to wait. Any minute now. He heard a doorbell. He immediately went to it and opened it. He saw a woman.

"Hello. Mr. Suh, right? I'm Dr. Byun Bea. Dr. Lee Taeyong sent me. Can I ask where the patient is?" The woman said. 

"Come inside, I'll show you were." Johnny directed the woman to his child's room. The doctor stood for a moment.

"Kailey, Oh my gosh." The doctor said rushing to the woman. Kailey opened her eyes upon hearing her name. Johnny was fazed. 

"B? What...What are you doing here?" Kailey said in shock.

"Duty calls and of course wouldn't you want me to be here? After all I've been your OB for quite a few years now." The doctor said with a teasing voice. 

"Mr. Suh? Can we please transfer Kailey into another room? I don't want to do my job in child's room." Dr. Byun discloses.

Johnny carried the woman to her own room inside his house. Well, the guest room before the woman occupied it. He's know in front of the door. He managed to let his daughter sleep but he's still worried about the woman inside the room. He felt a sense of relief when the door opened and it revealed the doctor. 

"What happened to her? Is she alright?" Johnny asks concernly.

"She's currently asleep right now. Can I please ask how long she's been working here? She haven't told me anything about having a job that girl can be secretive." The doctor said and Johnny can't help but agree.

"Almost 5 months now." Johnny murmured.

"And you still don't know that the girl suffers from the worst kind of menstruation pain or dysmenorrhea that she can't even stand up? It happens every 24th to 26th of the month. For 3 days." The doctor confessed.

"That's why she's absent during those dates?" Johnny asked.

"Yes, probably. There wouldn't be any other reason. If only that girl listened to me and followed my advice she wouldn't have to suffer this way." The doctor responds.

"What do you mean?" Johnny was no curious.

"Sexual intercourse. Believe it or not it's the only way for the pain of her period to be minimal but stubborn ass bitch and didn't want to follow her OB's orders. I understand her though. That girl doesn't even have a boyfriend. I'm telling this to you because you need to take care of her. I can't stay the hospital needs me. Because for some weird reason there are many people who's giving birth during this time of the year. Oh, she doesn't want to take meds she's weird. Just to let you know the pain she's feeling earlier cannot be compared to the pain she will be feeling once her 2nd day starts, it will be torture for her. I can find that my best friend is comfortable with you so please take care of her. I'm begging you she's been alone for so long now. Please be there for her. I can see the look in your eyes Sir Suh and although I have no right to intrude I'm still her bestfriend. Please don't break her much more. That's all I'll take my leave." The doctor said. He guide her out.

Johnny couldn't comprehend everything that he just heard. He feels ashamed of himself for thinking bad of the lady. He rubbed his hands on his face. He'll take care of her now that he knows how vulnerable she can be.

He finally knows the reason why.

Chapter Text

Kailey woke up because of the sunlight hitting her face. She stretched a little. Her dysmenorrhea is bearable now. Thank God that is. She checked the time and it was 9:00 in the morning. That's why. She get up of bed. Surprised that she can. Deep inside thankful that she could. She brushed her teeth and changed in a more comfortable clothes by putting a hoodie over her white shirt and black pants. This is her favorite combo when she's so lazy to even think to get dressed.

She walked down the stairs and can smell something delicious coming from the kitchen. She went their and saw that Johnny was making some pancakes. (domestic in a way don't u think?)  She saw Lei watching something on her Ipad while munching on the pancakes. The kid has always been a good eater. She made her presence known with a slight cough. Johnny then turned to her. Kailey moved to Leia and gently brushed her hand on the kids head and the kid smiled at her.

"Goodmorning." Johnny said swiftly.

"Goodmorning too." She responded shocked to see Johnny in a state where he's not cold towards her. 

"Are you good? Why did you go down I was supposed to bring you breakfast upstairs." Johnny said. Kailey blushed. That was seen by Johnny. 

"Yes, uhm I'm good. You don't really have to you know..." Kailey says.

"Don't be silly. Coffee?" Johnny asked.

"No, hehe I can't drink coffee while I'm on my period the cramps will only worsen." Kailey answered politely. Moving to get some water in the dispenser. 

"Oh, right. Do you mind telling me the foods or drinks that aren't allowed during your period?" Johnny asked sincerly.

"Uhm.. I don't think that's necessary." Kailey replied shyly.

"Please? You are going to stay at my house up until you feel good. I'm not letting you go home alone." His voice was very domineering. 

"If you insist. This will be a lot uhm... as I said I can't drink coffee or anything with caffeine in general. Also can't eat something with a lot of dairy. But no worries, I can still eat the pancakes that you cooked. So in short I need to eat foods that are healthy but of course that's not really possible because I crave for sweets." Kailey said with sweet smile adorned as to why the kid's father is trying to know her.

"That's all?" Johnny asked putting the pancakes that he just cooked on her plate.

"Yes, that's just it." Kailey answered nervous because Johnny was directly staring at her eyes. She feels so weak. She doesn't know how she won't feel anything with Johnny at the end of all this.

It's almost time for Christmas. They're all snuggled up in the couch with two blankets. Waiting for the countdown. Kailey wanted for them to go out but Johnny said that he knows that when it turns 12 o'clock her period cramps will only worsen. So they're here now. Leia just in her Daddy's lap while Kailey is just near them. Just a few inches away from them if one may say. All day she just played with Leia thankful that her body was in accordance to her. They already ate for feast and is now just waiting for the day. She has warm compress on her lower stomach right now. She can feel the gush of period pain that's piling up on her lower stomach. She just breathes and close her eyes. She can't ruin this. She has other people with her right now. She doesn't want to be a bummer and ruin Christmas with the two. She focused on the time and can see the countdown. Leia was excitingly screaming at the top of her voice. Johnny and Kailey couldn't help but join her.

MERRY CHRISTMAS !!! 

They all shouted. Leia kissed her Daddy and after move towards her and kissed her cheek as well. Kailey was flustered with two reasons. Her period pain is making its presence know and because of the sweet gesture the kid has done.

"Daddy, can we open the presents now?" Cutie Leia asked with puppy eyes.

"Sure baby." After Johnny said that the kid ran to get the presents under the Christmas tree. Both Johnny and Kailey couldn't help but to chuckle seeing how adorable the child is. She first opened that gift that was from the helper of the house. There are only two other people in the house the guard and the helper but they went home to celebrate the holidays with their family leaving only the 3 of them in the premise of the house. When Kailey opened it was a cute little red sweater when you can really see the Christmas vibes. The second she opened was the one from the guard and it was a beautiful purple ear muffs. 

Then after she opened Kailey's gift. It's a whole set of branded kid winter clothes and Leia couldn't help but admire it. The kid kissed her cheek once again after murmuring thanks. Johnny eyes her after. Kailey only smiled. She's been thinking to tell Johnny everything about her this midnight. Next, the child opened her Daddy's gifts... Yes, gifts. Kailey was very well aware that Johnny spoils Leia in all ways possible. When she opened the presents it was 3 newly released dolls and it was very pretty. The next were clothes and school supplies that also cost some sum of money. 

Johnny and Kailey was fighting over who would open their gifts next. But in the end Johnny won and Kailey was the one who's going to open the gifts next. Johnny was very well aware that the woman can't stand up so he picked the gifts under the tree and put in the table in front of her. After, carrying his child to go back to its former position. Kailey moved slowly still feeling the pain of her period cramp but neglecting it for now. She first opened the gift that was from the guard and it was cute sage gloves. Her favorite color. She opened the helpers gift and it was a sketchbook. Kailey thought that maybe helper has seen her doing some sketches. She smiled at the thought. Moving on, she opened Leia's gift for her that she already knows because they bought it together some time ago. It was a cute sage scarf. She loves it. Moving on she opened Johnny's small gift. She was surprised when she opened the wrapper. It was a Pandora box. When she opened it was a gold bracelet that has some green touch into it. If she remember correctly this cost almost 3,500.00 US Dollars. Her jaw dropped. She turned to look at Johnny.

"You like it?" Johnny asked with a smile.

"I can't...I won't accept this Johnny. This is too much. I'll be afraid to use it. Please just bring this back." Kailey said.

"I bought it for you because you deserve it also a peace offering gift because I didn't fulfill my promise to go home early. When I saw the gold bracelet it reminded me of your eyes and I just asked for it them to put some sage green stones because if I remember that's your favorite color and I always see you wear your gold necklace with it's sage pendant. And no, I cannot return it because I bought in France." Johnny said with a smile. Kailey is hormonal and she's about to cry.

"Thank you so much for this. I'll take care of it. I promise." Kailey said showing off her beautiful smile.

"Now, it's my turn to open my gifts!" Johnny said. 

He then put Leia down comfortably on the couch. He went to the tree and just like how he did with Kailey's gift he all gathered them and put in the table. He opened the gift from the helper and it was simple pen with his name engraved on it. He's been with that helper for the longest of time ever since Leia was just a newborn. The next he opened was the guard's gift and it was a blue tie. Further on he opened Leia's gift and it was almost the same as Kailey's gift. Just different colors. It was also a scarf. He looked at Kailey.

"I told her to pick what she wants to gift to us. I only knew that I would be given a scarf. I didn't knew she also bought it for you as well." Kailey said because he can sense some curiosity from the way Johnny looked at her.

Moving on, Johnny opened Kailey's gift. It was also a small box. He removed the wrapper and he saw the imprint the bran was Rolex. He opened the box and it was the Submariner Black Dial Stainless Steel Automatic Mens Watch. He knows the price of this. He's been eyeing this for a while. He wanted to buy it for himself for his birthday but he guess he doesn't anymore. If he remembers correctly this costs around $9,790. Now, he looked at Kailey the girl was only smiling. Her gift for him was way more expensive than his gift for her. He looked at the back and there's an imprint of two letters. J.S. 

"How did you know I wanted this watch?" Johnny asked.

"I asked Leia what kind of gifts do you like and she said that you already have everything but she then told me that you liked watches so there. I didn't know you wanted that. I was just strolling around the mall sometime around 2 weeks ago and I saw that. The colors of the watch fits you so I bought it." Kailey said with a smile. The thing with Kailey is that she loves to spoil people but not herself. That's why they are here.

"Where did you get the money to buy this?" Johnny asked and he didn't expect for it sound bitter.

"I'll answer that later." Kailey just said not minding again the pain that she's feeling under the blanket.

It was a few moments now. They are just watching the tv and Johnny was just moving on his child's back. The kid is now facing his chest. 

"She's asleep already." Kailey calmly said. 

"I should probably put her into her room." Johnny replied then standing up. After putting Leia into bed he went back down not missing how Kailey's facial expressions changed when there's no one around. Holding her lower stomach, breathing heavily. 

"You okay?" Johnny asked. Kailey was startled. She's been holding on for dear life. 

"Yeah..." Kailey says. Johnny just nodded but went to her.

"Johnny, can I talk to you?" Kailey said again. Finally ready to tell Johnny her story. Patting the side of the couch that's beside her. The right side.

"Sure." Johnny replied then going into the position where Kailey said. 

"Hmm, where do I start? I think Bea already told you about my period. It always happens during the 24th to 26th of the month. 3 days. That's why I always ask for a leave during these dates. I didn't want to tell you because it's personal and I don't want anyone to worry about me." Kailey says. Her left hand holding on to the hot compress and the other laying with the hem of the blanket. 

"Hmm, so that's why. Go on." Johnny encouraged her. Trying to stop himself on touching Kailey's free hand. 

"This goes way back. You see I had my period early. At the age of 9. But then at the age of 12 my period stopped coming. It was like tat until I was fifteen almost turning 16 when my period came back. Hurts harder that any before. And before it stopped coming I was irregular. But then once it came back I was already on regular. My teachers already knew this that's why I'm always absent during these days. I have a severe case of dysmenorrhea. I hate it but there's nothing I can do. If Dr. Bea already told you that sex is the only way for the pain to subside that yeah. She says that I could have my menopause during my 30's and of course that thought scared me. I want to have children. Yet, I also don't want to just give to someone I don't love. During the past months the pain that I have been feeling was too much. I despise it but I don't have a choice don't I? aah." Kailey says but was interrupted because of the pain she's feeling. Johnny seemed to have notice this because the woman was gripping tightly on the blanket. 

"Uhm, If you want you can hold my hand... you know grip it when the pain is too much." Johnny suggested. Kailey was startled but she reached out for Johnny's hands. There was no sign of awkwardness. Johnny's hands felt so right in hers.  She held it tightly because the pain is coming again. She inhales then exhales followed by a blow. 

"I wonder who taught you that, you know the breathing technique because you also taught that to my Leia." Johnny said with a soft giggle. 

"Hmm, are you ready for this? Through this you will really know me skin deep." Kailey asked with a hint of threat.

"I mean if you want to say it of course. No pushing." Johnny says. He caressed Kailey's hands. Kailey took a deep breath.

"The one who taught me that technique was my grandma or I call her Halmeoni. I grew up without any parents. I mean my parents died when I was still young. Around 10 years old maybe. I don't have any siblings and neither of my parents have siblings too. So it was pretty lonely but I'm just thankful that Halmeoni was there for me growing up. She taught me a lot of things in life. Made me strong and helped me overcome my struggles in life." Kailey said truthfully.

"So, where is she now?" Johnny asked.

"In heaven." Kailey says with a smile remembering her Halmeoni.

"Oh, I'm sorry for asking." Johnny said.

"It's fine haha. It's been years ever since she passed away. I know you're curious as to why I could afford to live in one of the richest residences in Chicago and was able to gift you two expensive gifts. It's because of my Halmeoni. When my parents died it was Halmeoni who took over our businesses. She was able to manage that and raise me. You see Johnny, we owned many lands. Across the United States and Europe. Of course also Asia. We traveled so much before because she had to make sure that everything was going smoothly. We own farms, factories and many more. When she died all of that was given to me. She established the businesses so good that when she left I don't even have to do anything. We used to live in Mount Greenwood but when she died I transferred in Forest Glen. I live alone. I majored in business economics and have a minor on education. But I don't really have to be so hands-on in our business. I just graduated my Masters this year and I was looking for something to do and out of nowhere I saw the paper that says there is someone who's in need of tutor. So, I grabbed the opportunity. I was bored and out of school. Luckily, the one who I'm supposed to tutor is the little girl that I found that was lost in the mart. Destiny, I guess?" Kailey said then chuckled but then her stomach gave her pain so she gripped Johnny's hand tightly. 

"Oh, that's why." Johnny says still playing with the younger's hand using his free hand.

"I was about to tell this to you earlier but then you grew cold to me. So, yeah that's that. That's my story." Kailey says.

Johnny was about to ask something when Kailey's phone rang. The caller id was Only. Johnny growled at what he saw. Kailey answered the call.

"Hello?" Kailey asked.

"Merry Christmas! I'm on the way to your apartment. Let's eat! I know you're in your period that's why you won't go anywhere right?" Ethan asked, her cousin.

"Merry Christmas too Choi. Sad to inform you but I'm not home. Sorry." Kailey says honestly. She noticed how Johnny's hand was barely holding hers so she grabbed it more tightly acting as if the pain on her stomach is surging again.

"What where are you? Do you want me to pick you up?" Her cousin said concernedly. Making Kailey chuckle a little because she can sense the fake worriedness. 

"No, I'm okay here. You can go in my apartment though. Stay there for the night. I'll send you the passcode. Take care Ethan Choi." Kailey responds laughing a little.

"Okay, okay, Thank you! Merry Christmas again dear cousin. Bye!" Ethan said cheerfully.

"Yeah, goodbye!" Kailey said.  The she received a text notification from Dr. Bea that she will drop off. She replied saying that she's not home. But Kailey had a plan... Her cousin is single. Her bestfriend is single. Why not? So she texted her to stay on her house for the meantime. She then put her phone down and was faced with Johnny was a frown.

"Hmm?" Kailey says breaking the silence. She can see Johnny pouting.

"Who was that? Ethan Choi?" Johnny asked and that made Kailey chuckle. 

"Why do you ask?" Kailey asked teasing Johnny.

"I think he's also the guy that I saw with you last month when you were on leave. Before I left. He was carrying in a bridal style you just both came from the ice cream parlor. I thought you kind of have a relationship with him. Because okay to be honest when you first called asking for a left I heard you whimper and then I kind of connected the dots when I saw you with someone else. I though you have like other jobs that's why you can afford to stay in Forest Glen. I'm sorry for judging you." Johnny confessed. Kailey lets out a giggle.

"Oh Johnny, that's why you acted cold to me? Because you taught I have some like sugar daddy?" Kailey said making her laugh so hard. 

"Hey, don't make fun of me. You are still not answering who that guy is." Johnny said with a pout still.

"His name is Ethan Choi and he's my cousin." Kailey says with a chuckle.

"What? Come again?" Johnny asks.

"He's my cousin. Second cousin specifically. He is the child of my father's cousin, so to answer your question Sir Suh. I don't have any sugar daddy. Unless..." Kailey says mockingly.

"Unless, what?" Johnny asked seriously. 

"Hmm, nothing! Can you please bring me to my room?" Kailey said with puppy eyes.

"Okay, fine." Johnny then said now carefully carrying her into a bridal style. Kailey can hear Johnny's heartbeat. She feels as if there's no other place she'd rather be other than between Johnny's arms. 

That's what happened when they welcomed Christmas. 

Chapter Text

Johnny lifted Kailey in a bridal style. Kailey couldn't help but to snuggle into the man's chest while her arms are in Johnny's nape. She just feels so safe. Like all the pain she's feeling now seem to be nowhere to be found. She's letting herself be carefree for a while.

Once Johnny has successfully put her down into her bed and left her room she whimpered. Counting 1 to 3 before doing so. She has been keeping it for a while now. It's already 12:45 and the pain just keeps on being so uncomfortable. She changed positions into the bed. Now in a downward dog position. Still gripping the sheets tightly. She lets out a louder groan now unable to control the loudness. She's already praying and begging to any gods and saints. The pain was too much. Too much she hates it just a few seconds she heard Johnny knocking on the door.

"Hey? Kailey, are you good?" Johnny asked with a hint of concern on his voice. Kailey couldn't reply she was to preoccupied. She was breathing heavily. Gosh, she hates this so much. She just wants the pain to be gone but she knows that it won't happen anytime soon.

"I'm gonna come inside, okay?" Johnny said when he didn't get any reply from the younger. He slowly opened the door and rushed towards her side. He can see her sweating gravely. Something in Johnny's heart was tugged. He couldn't see the woman in this state. This was worse than what he came home to yesterday. Kailey was already groaning so loudly. She just couldn't contain the pain anymore. She really feels as is she's getting cut into half. Johnny attended to her and changed her position. Kailey looked so fragile and just followed Johnny's lead. 

"Breathe for me okay? Just like what your Halmeoni taught you. C'mon. Inhale....Exhale..... Blow on me. There, let's do that one more time shall we? Okay good." Johnny kept assisting Kailey based on what he's learned from the woman. He really can't take seeing her this weak. She looks so pale and almost lifeless. They continued doing so until Kailey's breathing has now become stable. Kailey was still gripping on Johnny's hands tightly.  He was on the left side on the bed. Knees kneeling on the floor. Kailey still can't open her eyes. She just feel so spent. Johnny couldn't help but wonder how the woman can take care of herself on her own if its this bad. He really feels horrible that he thought of her that way before. 

Took a few minutes really until Johnny feels the hold on his hand loosen up. Once he checked as to why he was astounded to see the beautiful sleeping face of the woman who's just crying because of pain a few moments ago. She looks so peaceful. How her breath-taking beauty is being more seen in the dead of the night only with the moonlight letting him see her. How every corner of her face was perfectly sculpted. His trained from the woman's forehead moving to her clean eyebrows... to her closed eyes that showcases her long black lashes. Her nose that looks like came from a greek god. Her cheeks that are so round and are still pinkish because the events that just occurred. Then his gaze trails down unto her lips. How her cupid bow stands out and is highlighted in a way. How her lips are almost in the darkest shade of red probably because of her biting it to prevent her making unwanted sounds. Johnny felt the urged to kiss her lips. So close but Johnny stopped himself. No...not yet.

Johnny didn't realized that he fell asleep still holding the woman's hands and still on his knees. Sure, it was uncomfortable and he is 30 years old after all. He woke up because he heard someone opening the door and there he saw his precious little baby girl. Eyes still droopy probably because she just woke at an ungodly time. 

"Daddy? What are you doing here?" The kid asks while yawning and carefully walked towards where her father is.

"I was just helping Ms. Bailey ease her pain baby. C'mon let's go into your room." Johnny asked now carefully removing his hold from the woman and standing up.

"Daddy..." Leia says.

"What is it baby?" Johnny asked.

"You see I was only able to sleep yesterday because I was next to you and Ms. Kailey was in pain but during the last weeks that you were not home she actually sleeps beside me and she would sing and hug me to sleep. I want to sleep right next to Ms. Kailey, Daddy... pretty please?" The kid says almost crying because she misses her tutor's embrace. Leia doesn't know why but she feels so comfortable with Ms. Kailey around. 

"But baby Ms. Kailey is still in pain. Let's not disturb her okay? Let's go now." Johnny says assisting his child out the door. Leia wants to complain but she has no choice. They were about to leave but then.

"Stay..." Kailey managed to say she's sensitive with sound if she's on her period so she wakes up with just the slightest bit of noise. She didn't meant to eavesdrop but she does feel lonely without having to embrace Leia while sleeping. Kailey managed to pull half of her body to the bed frame. Johnny immediately went to help her. Leia also ran to the right side of the bed and Kailey couldn't help but smile. 

"Please let the kid stay. I would like to have some company." Kailey said with a smile trying to endure the pain once again. Brushing the kid's hair and letting the kid be comfortable in her bed.  With that Johnny sighed signaling his defeat and was about the leave once again but...

"Ms. Kailey..." Leia murmured.

"Yes, baby?" Kailey asks. Leia is now playing with her little fingers that is above the blanket.

"Would you mind if Daddy sleeps with us as well? I kinda feel bad because Daddy has been away for a while and I also couldn't sleep knowing you are in pain. So kindly please..." Leia asked now her puppy eyes.

"Leia-" Johnny was about to scold her daughter for suggesting such a ridiculous idea yet someone interrupted him.

"Sure, baby." Kailey answers.

"Huh? Wah..What?" Johnny asked now staring at Kailey.

"It's fine Johnny. Could you really deny your daughter's request on Christmas day huh? I don't mind Johnny. I really don't. It's fine with me." Kailey said now laying back down on her bed so she's on the same level as little Leia. 

"Please, Daaaaaddy." Leia pleads.

"Okay, fine." Johnny says knowing he can't win this. He carefully laid down on the empty space next to Leia. Fixing the blanket. Johnny just thank the gods the he fits into this bed because well he isn't exactly short. 

"Stop being stiff, Johnny. Relax, no ones gonna bite you here." Kailey said hoping to ease the awkwardness in the room.

"And you lady must be sleeping. It's bad for you." Johnny says acting like the Father that he is. Kailey laughed. And Leia as well....

"Ms. Kailey...HUG!!!" Leia says. Kailey complied without thinking so much. She can almost feels Johnny's bicep while hugging the kid so she immediately didn't stretch it that much. But what happens next... was surely out of her wildest dreams.

"How about Daddy? Don't I get a have a hug to huh, little Leia?" Johnny says with a hint of sulking. Leia giggled.

"Ms. Kailey, Daddy wants hug as well!" Leia says. The child grabbed Kailey's hands and let it hug Johnny's form. That happened even way before Kailey can react. shh, calm down heart, it's just a hug. Johnny also embraced the two of them. His hand landing on the tutor's waist. It was so easy for the two of them. Johnny thinks that they perfectly fit in his arms. How he wish this won't ever end. He doesn't want this to be all temporary in the long run. He don't think he can get his heart shattered like that.

"Daddy, Ms. Kailey... I'm so happy today! I think Santa finally made my wishes came true." Leia said softly feeling the embrace of the two most important people in her life and in both Johnny and Kailey's brain they couldn't help but to think Same Leia, Same. 

Soon after this little family soon dozed off.

Chapter Text

Johnny was the first one to wake up yet he still remained lying in the bed. He just feels so comfortable. But he knows sooner or later he needs to get up. And so he did. Gently removing his arms from Kailey's waist and slowly crept out the bed. He took a moment to appreciate the two girls in his life snuggled up together. Johnny is rich. He had everything he's been wanting ever since he was young but right now when he's faced with the sunlit bedroom and is when he feels so much contentment on Christmas day. Johnny went to the his bathroom and did his morning rituals. He also cooked breakfast for the girls.

He opened the door at Kailey's room while still holding a bamboo bed tray carrying his and the girls breakfast. The two immediately woke up because of the smell of breakfast. They ate in peace and quiet. Johnny offered to run Leia a bath knowing that Kailey would have to do her morning rituals. After Leia went back to Kailey's room and Johnny followed of course. 

Kailey and Leia agreed that they will just binge-watch Christmas movies throughout the duration of the whole day. Kind of a lazy way of spending Christmas Day but hey it's still fun. Johnny then couldn't do anything but agree. Now they're here 5 movies after and eating a lot of snack now watching Klaus . Leia was eating the blueberry muffin Johnny had delivered since Kailey can't really bake. Leia is seated on the end of the bed. The two adults are next to each other. Half of their bodies are up still covered with the blanket. The both are also snacking the muffin. Enjoying the movie while still looking after the little girl. Johnny and Kailey weren't awkward with each other anymore. They don't react to hastily if there skins touch each other. They are at the comfortable stage now. 

If there's one thing Kailey is when she have period is that she's a clingy type of person. Her emotions were all over the place. (Not gonna lie this chapter will be too lol)  So she went to Leia and placed her in between her legs and back hugged the little girl. Kailey loves physical touch when she's in this state. The warmth of other. She craves it.  Soon after she let Leia go and went back to her position. Now focusing on the movie. Little did Kailey know Johnny had noticed how the woman sulks when deprived of touch. Johnny finds it adorable really. This side of the woman that he has never seen before. It makes him to keep her and take care of her. The pull is so strong. And so was Kailey's desire to feel human touch again so she moved closer to Johnny. She took it slowly and Johnny knows. Of course he does. His heartbeat is racing over 150. The woman snuggled closer to Johnny. Yes she's not on the right mind right now but she does have something to blame and that is... hormones. When she was so close to Johnny's form already Johnny moved his arm to put over her shoulder. He made sure first if the woman feels comfortable and once he didn't hear let out a sound of complain he also settled himself can't believe that he has the woman over his figure. Their tense muscles began to relax and they fell asleep. Little did they know that little Leia took a picture of them.

It's night time already and they are wondering what to eat. They want to order take-outs because they don't have the will too at the moment. Oh and yes, Kailey is still in Johnny's arms but this time she's hugging the man's waist and face was on the latter's chest. She just woke up and they're already like that. 

"How about Chinese?" Johnny asked he's scrolling to his phone using his one hand because the other is gently caressing the other's back. 

"Sounds good to me. Ask Leia." Kailey said refusing to go away from this very very very comfortable position. Johnny chuckled with what the woman had just said. Leia is still seated at the edge of the bed watching the last part of the movie. 

"Baby, how about we eat Chinese food for dinner?" Johnny asks his kid. 

"Sure, Daddy! Want some dumplings!" Leia says.

"Okay baby." Johnny answered. Then proceeds to order.

They then ate dinner with some laughs because of the stories Johnny and Leia have been exchanging and they didn't fail to make Kailey laugh so much. Although it hurts seeing them happy made Kailey happy as well. After eating Kailey washed the dishes. And let Johnny and Leia have their moment. By that she thought they would be at Leia's room but no... they are actually playing on Kailey's room. It makes her feels so full with the view that is in front of her.

Johnny woke up in the dead of the night. The three of them went to sleep at around 10pm. He checked the time and it was 12:50am. He didn't bother checking the ladies when he left the room to drink some water on the kitchen that's why he's started to see Kailey munching an ice cream tub and is sitting on the island countertop while looking directly at the window of their breakfast nook. 

"What are you doing here?" Johnny asks the lady.

"Eating some ice cream!" Kailey says excitingly still not looking at the man that just came.

"Doesn't ice cream have dairy?" Johnny asks curiously , worried a little.

"Silly this is a non-dairy ice cream." Kailey said and Johnny just nod at that and went into the fridge to get some water. Then after he went beside Kailey. Leaning over the island countertop. Respecting each other's desire to just enjoy the silence. He was about to ask her what they are but Kailey said something that made Johnny stop.

"Did you ever thought of being with someone again and give Leia a sibling?" Kailey asks after eating the last bit of ice cream in her spoon.

"Geez, where did the com from?" Johnny asked.

"A few weeks ago me and Leia was at the playground and then I was watching her from afar when I saw her stopped playing and was just looking at something. So I rushed to her of course. Then I saw her watching a family and kids that are playing with their siblings. After noticing that I was there Leia acted as if nothing happened and just smiled at me. But then of course knowing me on the drive back home I asked her does she want to have a sibling and she said yes but she also said that she knows it won't happen anytime soon." Kailey confessed. 

"I always though she was just fine with being the two of us. Never knew she feels that way at times." Johnny said with a deep sigh feeling as if he really don't know his child at all. 

"Don't blame yourself. She's just a little secretive sometimes. As much as I want to tell her about having a sibling I can't for I don't have one and I know you don't have one as well. Just great we're a bunch of only child's." Kailey said with a snicker.

"And to answer your question yes there are a few times where I thought of being with someone but at the end of the day I have to consider Leia's feelings. You know that she is the priority. It's Leia above all. I have to make sure that this said someone is kind to her and won't harm her. Yet it's hard because all of them just runs after my body and money." Johnny said bitterly.

"I know that Leia's well-being is your top priority but how about you happiness Johnny? Who will put you above all else? I know that certainly take care of yourself and you are fine with making Leia your whole world but how about when Leia is all grown and have her own family? What about you then? Will you really grow old alone?" Kailey asks with a hint of concern.

"I don't really know Kailey. It's just that what's important is Leia. Right now Leia is what matters most." Johnny responds.

"If you say so." Kailey said defeatedly. 

"How about you? If you were ever to marry how many kids do you want?" Johnny asked shifting the topic.

"Hmm... I've always wanted to have two kids. A boy and a girl. Just two because Dr. B said that my pregnancy would be hard for me so yeah hehe." Kailey said.

"Oh wow, I have a question have you never have any boyfriend before?" Johnny asks.

"Nope, never had the time. If for you it's Leia above all, for me it was Halmeoni above all. To study and finish school to make her proud to repay her for everything she's done for me. I always thought that it would always just be there and there's no need for me to rush." Kailey answers. 

"Wow...you love you Halmeoni so much don't you?" Johnny asks.

"Of course, it's also because of Halmeoni why I still haven't given myself to anyone. She always told me how beautiful hers and Harabeoji's love story was beautiful and said that she promise herself that she would only give herself to the person she's willing to spend the rest of her life with and from there I became a hopeless romantic. 50 years of love. Amazing isn't it? How somehow along the way we will just find the person we want to spend the rest of our lives with." Kailey replied.

"Yeah, that's amazing." Johnny said couldn't help but get fascinated about the woman beside her. They went silent again. Kailey has something bothering her and wants to do but can't feel the urge to do so so she took a deep breath.

"Johnny~" The woman said in a petite voice.

"Hmm?" Johnny responded now facing the woman and he saw her puppy eyes. 

"Can you please carry me back upstairs?" Kailey said then again in cutesy manner.

"C'mon." Johnny signals.

"Noo~, like piggy back ride please?" Kailey asked once again with clear instructions this time. Johnny can't help but find her adorable.

"Okay, okay." Johnny position himself in between Kailey's legs and Kailey carefully put her self down and wrapped her arms around Johnny. The man also holds her legs using his arms to make sure that she won't fall wrapping it in his waist.

"Thank youuuu~" The woman said in Johnny's ear and that made Johnny's heart flutter. 

That's how they celebrated Christmas Day relaxed and loved. 

Chapter Text

Christmas that year was set at a Thursday. It's Friday now. The 26th of December. The last day of her period and Kailey is becoming livelier by the second. She feels less lazy and Johnny does not know what to feel about this. They are still currently in her bed. Yes, they are sleeping still in her bedroom and Kailey can't complain because she likes it as well. If only they could stay like this forever. They woke up, all of them. Kailey wanted to take care of Leia she feels as if she's not doing much these days.

"Johnny~ please let me run Leia a bath. I miss taking care of her and I'm okay already Johnny just a little bit pain here or there but please just give me this one." Kailey says trying to convince Johnny. 

"Okay fine. Just take it easy okay?" Johnny asks concernedly.

"Sure, now shoo leave! Go do your own stuff. Let me have my bonding moment with the child." Kailey says excitingly. Kailey has a dynamic love language. It's either physical touch, acts of services or giving gifts. It's always between those three. Is she subtly saying that she's in love with Johnny? probably... She ran Leia a bath and after she took one herself. Changing into grey sweats and a comfy plain white-tshirt. She loved being comfortable most of the time especially if she's not going out. Then she saw Leia just playing on her bed and Kailey doesn't know but in such a short span of time she grew fond of the younger. Knowing that the kid did not want to study before as the child's way of coping. Almost each and every one of us has a different coping mechanism. For Kailey she's one to keep everything bottled up inside. It's rare to see her blow up. The last time she allowed herself to have a breakdown is when her Halmeoni died. But right now just seeing the child in her own world made Kailey tear up a little. Freaking hormones. 

Johnny saw that because he just finished too taking a bath and then so he went into Kailey asking her what's wrong but Kailey saying she's fine and it's just because she's getting emotional. Deep inside Kailey feels good. She wants to speak with Johnny already regarding their relationship. About time, don't you think? For almost 5 months of knowing him and yet Kailey feels as if she's home. She couldn't ask for anything else right now.

Saturday. Kailey woke up when she felt a figure trying to wake her up. Her period is now gone and she thank the gods for that. She smiled sweetly when she saw Leia. 

"Sorry if Leia woke you up. She said you both do something during saturdays? What do you call it again?" Johnny's voice echoes around the room.

"SATURDATE !!!" Leia shouts.

"Ah yes that a Saturdate." Johnny said.

"Hmm, when you were away we kinda made Saturday the date where we go out an just have some fun. Trying and exploring different restaurants. Just because we kind of do nothing during saturdays that's why." Kailey says while playing with Leia's hair. 

"Can I come with the both of you?" Johnny asks.

"What do you say Leia? Will you let you Daddy come with us?" Kailey asks the kid.

"Of course! The more the merrier!" Leia happily said.

"Then after I could head back home." Kailey said.

"You can stay, if you want. We really don't want you to celebrate NYE alone." Johnny said. 

"Oh okay sureee and also by the way we need to stock up for NYE. Let's head to the mart to buy some things?" Kailey now turning to Johnny.

"Yep, sure." Johnny responds.

They went to this famous Peruvian restaurant and they enjoy their stomachs. They walk the streets while the both of the are holding both Kailey's hands. Honestly, in Kailey's mind it couldn't get better than this. Now, they are currently walking the walkaways of the mart trying to figure out what they need to get for NYE. The teased each other and just have some laughs as well, Johnny feels as if he's home.

Time flew by and it's already the New Year's Eve. Kailey and Johnny cooked side by side together still not dressing up of course. After cooking Kailey said that she still need to fix herself. They had a theme for NYE and that is blue! So Kailey is touching herself. Wearing the blue dress she has been keeping for special occasions. Come to think of it she never really wore dresses while working as a tutor only because she deemed it inappropriate however she's not her just as a tutor though. The color of the dress was dark blue. It looks like a wrap around but it's not only the form. It also have some butterflies and flowers print all over. It ends right below her mid-thigh. She tied her hair around in a low bun. Put some make-up as well. She also did wore the bracelet that Johnny gave her and the necklace her Halmeoni bought her. She looked at herself in the mirror one last time after she wore her not that high heels. Once she's pleased with her look she slowly came down the stairs. At that exact moment Johnny saw her coming down because he was checking up on Leia in the living room and the living room is actually in front of the staircase. His jaw-dropped. She is really a beauty. She glows differently tonight.

"Wow..." Johnny muttered. Kailey couldn't help but to blush.

"What do you think?" Kailey asked. Now reaching the end of the stairs. 

"You are so beautiful Ms. Kailey!" Leia said cheerfully.

"Oh, wow, thank you baby!" Kailey responds back. 

"Yeah, you a really are beautiful." Johnny replied with a smile on his face. 

"Thank you, Johnny." Kailey said with a smile that made her eyes looks like a crescent moon. 

They ate their dinner and await the coming of the new year. They are currently outside in the backyard waiting for the fireworks display in the neighborhood.

HAPPY NEW YEAR !!! 

Both Johnny and Kailey kissed Leia as they welcomed the New year. The night sky has been filled with fireworks display and you can heart the sounds of cars and other things to celebrate the coming of a New Year. Both Johnny and Kailey could only hope that this year will be filled with great things. Johnny felt the urge to kiss the woman but he just settled on kissing her forehead. That made Kailey's heart race. Leia shrieks. Johnny is currently carrying Leia on his left hand and the his right is the tutor's waist. Johnny feels at ease. All the years of coping alone now finally he's not alone. He stopped his thoughts when he saw Kailey deep into the unknown. 

"Penny for your thoughts?" Johnny said. This made Kailey's sense come back.

"I always have a tradition during the New Years day because you know I spend it alone. I give gifts and food to kids, elderly or homeless people. You know there's a saying that Halmeoni taught me that if you start doing something good in the first day of the year throughout the whole year you will continue doing good. I like that. I love helping those in need because I am lucky enough to have much. It's the only way I could give back." Kailey said while still staring at the fireworks show that is happening right now. 

"We'll come with you. We would love to give back as well." Johnny said appreciating the tutor's kindess.

"Really? Thank you Johnny." Kailey said.

"Always welcome baby." Johnny responds. Kailey couldn't help but smile. If whatever her grandma said abut doing something in the new year day and with it happening all year round then she prays that this being so content would happen all year round too.

It's January 5th already. A monday meaning to say Kailey have to go back to school now and that also means Johnny would be back to work. They did though push through their plans for the New Years. They gave people foods and gifts and the smiles on their faces will be forever engraved in their memories. She just finished fixing Leia for school. The helper and the guard is already back so she let Leia eat breakfast first. She went up to call Johnny that it's time for breakfast. She was about to knock the door when he hears Johnny hissing probably in a phone call.

"Make sure that you'll fix this mess." Johnny said in cold boss voice. Johnny then proceeded to make his tie but he's so anxious that he kept on messing up. Kailey knocked. 

"Hello? Can I come in?" Kailey asks.

"Yeah, sure." Johnny said still a bit stressed.

When Kailey opened the room she saw Johnny sitting at the edge of the bed holding his tire and with a face that looks annoyed. Kailey gently went into him and carefully grab the necktie. Kailey also noticed that this was the tie that guard gave him for Christmas. She didn't ask him to stand up anymore but rather she positioned herself in between his legs. Johnny's hand instantly went to her waist. She put the tie around his neck carefully refusing to make eye contact. After setting his tie up she grabbed the coat that was beside him and asked him to wear it while she's still assisting. After that Johnny's hand went to her waist again and pulled her closer. Kailey was taken aback. Johnny was hugging her.

"Give me 5 minutes. I need to clear my mind off." Johnny said still hugging the woman by the waist. Kailey just pat at Johnny's back in a repetitive motion. After a few minutes Johnny stand up and went to get something leaving Kailey behind. When he came back she saw him where the watch that she gave him. Kailey smiled when Johnny intentionally shows it off.

"It suits you." Kailey said.

"I know but do you know what suits me best?" Johnny asks.

"Hmm?" Kailey hummed innocently.

"You." Johnny without a pause said. Kailey blushed but she shrugged it off.

"Let's eat breakfast already or both you and your daughter will be late." Kailey said now walking out of the room. Yet, that didn't stop Johnny from snaking his arms to the woman's shoulders. Kailey didn't mind. There has something that shifted between the two of them and who is Kailey to complain? 

They all finished their breakfast and the two adults agreed that they will both take Leia to school today. They're on the way at the pre-school and Kailey couldn't help but smile because of how happy Leia looked. Once they reach their destination Johnny opened the door for both of them. People are eyeing them. Kailey knows this. She put her hands inside the pocket of her coat because its winter and its freezing cold. Johnny kissed Leia and Leia asked if she can kiss her as well and of course she did.

"Goodbye baby." Both she and Johnny said.

"Goodbye Daddy and Mommy!" Leia said then ran off.

Kailey was shocked. Being close with the of them is nice but being called mommy by the kid sets wonders around her spine. She didn't hate it, she just wasn't expecting it. They're on the way back home. Kailey's mind is still replaying what the kid had said.

"Hey, you okay?" Johnny said now putting a hand on her thigh. She wasn't startled she love this part of Johnny when its only the two of them.

"Yeah, just thinking about some things." Kailey answered truthfully.

"It's what Leia said , no'? It's just a slip of the tongue don't worry about it that much. Why do you hate it?" Johnny asks still caressing the tutor's thigh. 

"Nooooo~ It was just shocking. I mean I would love to but I don't now Johnny. Give me time hehe." Kailey said now taking Johnny's hand from her thigh and intertwining it with hers.

"Take all the time you need my love." Johnny said and for the nth time that day Kailey blushed.

That's what happened during the New Year's.

Chapter Text

Even though Kailey doesn't want to leave the Suh residence she knows she can't stay there any longer. She's not a freeloader and still her relationship with Johnny is still unclear. That's why here she is. About to knock on Johnny's office. She already finished tutoring Leia and she's about to ask for a leave. It's January 9, 2026. A friday. Then, she knocked.

"Come in." Johnny said in his baritone voice.

"Hi." Kailey simply said with a smile on her face.

"Hey, what's up?" Johnny asks now fixing the papers that he was just focused on to give his attention to the woman. 

"I know it's a Saturday tomorrow and we're suppose to take Leia out but can I ask if I can have a leave? And oh, also I've been staying here for a month now hehe. I feel like I already need to go back home..." Kailey said in a soft voice eyes not looking at Johnny but rather her fingers that are intertwined. 

"Why? Are we making you feel uncomfortable? I'll allow you to have a leave but for how many days and why?" Johnny asks.

"No, no it's not that. I loved staying in here but then again this is not my real home. I'll have that leave for 2 days. Tomorrow and on Sunday. It's my parent's death anniversary. Every year I visit them and have some alone time by myself to just take a little breather and reflect about life for a while." Kailey answered as she recalls that this tradition started when her Halmeoni took her a year after her parent's death and decided that they should stay over in one of their houses near the beach and from there her Halmeoni will just ask her how she feels and what she wants to do. 

"Oh, I'll let you take your leave. But regarding about staying here we'll talk about that after you come back okay? There's still a lot of things that we need to discuss." Johnny said.

"Okay, thank you." Kailey replies.

"For the meantime please stay here? Sleep here before you leave for tomorrow. Just go drop by your house in the morning if you have some things to get. Please stay with us." Johnny said now standing up and going in front of her. Kailey hasn't even responded yet. Kailey feels all of her nerves going up this instant. Now, that she's not that hormonal and not the clingiest she feels so flustered everytime Johnny will get close to her like this. She's sitting and Johnny held her hand that was placed on the side motioning for her to stand up. Johnny directed her out of his office still holding her hand. 

"Where are we going?" Kailey couldn't help but ask.

"Dinner." Johnny muttered softly. Kailey just smiled at that. Kailey knows. She's falling. So deep.

Kailey has finished packing some of the stuffs that she will bring her with her in this 2-day trip. She's all set to go. She's about to bid her goodbye to the two when she felt a child hug her by the waist.

"Please, promise me you'll come back." Leia cries. Kailey couldn't help but chuckle.

"Of course, this is not goodbye my love." Kailey responds caressing little Leia's cheeks. Then proceeds to kiss the child.

Kailey saw Johnny in the house doorway. Just silently watching. Kailey smiled at him. And that made him go to her eloping her into a hug as well.

"Call me when you get there." Johnny whispers into her ear.

"Sure, I'll do." Kailey responds.

The drive wasn't actually that long, if you have a car that is. She stopped by the flower shop to get some flowers. Now, she's here in the cemetery. Sitting comfortably in the grass. Facing her parents. 

"Hey lovebirds and my angel, been a while hasn't it?" Kailey calls her parents lovebirds because they chose to die together rather leaving someone behind, well maybe they did by the form of their daughter. 

"These past few months have been crazy. I finished my Masters. Like what the both of you always wanted when I was young. I work as a tutor now to a lovely kid named Leia. I know right, even I myself couldn't believe I'm a tutor. In all the good way possible. But the kid was just wise and kind. It's so easy to teach her and I also kind of got close with her. She reminds me a lot of my old self. I'm just really thankful that you gave me the best Halmeoni in this world that I didn't have to got through a rebel phase. I miss you guys. You must have loved heaven that's why you already went their, no'? I hope the three of you finally get your peace and rest in there already. Don't worry about me. Pretty lonely but I can manage. You raised a tough one Halmeoni. You readied my heart for the worst that's why I'm ready to whatever is bout to come. And also...

There's this guy. The Father of the child I'm currently tutoring. I don't know. His name is Johnny. He's such a fine man. He's on his 30's. He is the CEO of a big ass company. Dad, you and him would pretty much hit it off. Mom and Halmeoni is this also what you felt for Dad and Harabeoji?  It's contrary to what they say in books and movies. It's not sparks and butterflies but rather it's comfort and safety. I feel so secure when I'm around him. I am falling deeply in love with him. He makes this life more bearable for me. Although I don't want to admit it when there's no assurance that he's feeling the same. I need a sign. Show me a sign that I could just forget about everything and be with him. I deserve to be happy too, don't I? Please continue to watch over me up there. And if he really is the man for me then I hope you'll give us both the sense of security. " Kailey sighed. She feels so lonely not until the wind suddenly blows upon her making her know that her lovebirds and angel is assuring her that everything will be okay. Kailey smiled stopping herself from crying but miserably failing to do so. She allowed herself to show some emotions in the comfort of her parents and Halmeoni. 

Kailey is now walking by the beach wearing her long light blue maxi dress. Her brown hair is getting messy because of the blowing wind. She always enjoys walk like this. Where she gets to appreciate the little things in this world. She always feel so small in this vast universe. How in reality, we are just small atoms if you look all at us in the bird's view of the milky way. She stopped and feels the breeze of the cold winter wind. She finds it amazing how two people can meet and love each other for a long time or rather love that lasts until their last breathe. She has never fallen in love with before with someone that is. Because over the years she manage to be in love with her life. That she really pretty much don't have a choice but to continue. Her Halmeoni also filled her with so much love growing up so she need not find any reason to long for that in any other man. Even when she became an adult. She lives in liberal country but she's still also Asian. She grew to respect how her Halmeoni never loved other man other than her late husband. Kailey never her her Harabeoji. But the stories that her Halmeoni told her. She often told her that its her way to remember him to not forget the love of her life. She finds it amusing how one can really just stay faithful to one person all their life. She wants that kind of love. She was saving herself for the person that is willing to stay with her until she's old and grey. A hopeless romantic that would be her. She already romanticizes her life. Giving back to people. Taking it day by day. Especially when she lost her Halmeoni. It was hard for her. She had to start living alone. Eat alone. Go to the supermarket alone. But she has no regrets. Her Halmeoni died painlessly. Just on her sleep. And she think that's why her Halmeoni asked her to sleep with her the night before she died. She just know it was coming.

There's a very thin line between life and death. Kailey learned that the hard way. She learned it when she was 4 and her pet dog died. She found out about it when she was 10 and she wake up knowing her parents passed away. When she was 15 and knew that one of her friend died because of suicide. She learned it when she was 20 when her Halmeoni died. She finds it scary how one can be so full of life and then the next thing you know they're gone. She battles life and death during the times where her pms is the worse. After losing her Halmeoni that's when she started romanticizing her life alone. She enjoys giving to people that's why she always do that. She knows how it feels to have none. May not be in materialistic things but the longing she feels sometimes. To have something to look forward to. To have something to live for and when the Daddy-daughter came into her life she felt like she has a purpose. She found something that she doesn't even know she was looking for. She knew what sign she's been asking. All this time she's been so afraid of letting someone in because she feels like they all will just leave. 

Kailey knew that she loves Johnny when she was in one of the coffee shops by the beach and the owner was hitting on her but all she can think of was Johnny. How the sun rays makes her hair browner and all she could think of was Johnny's mesmerizing's brown eyes. When she's ordering dinner and suddenly remembers that Johnny prefers to put barbecue sauce rather than tomato sauce on pizza. She remembers him while walking past these antique place that display old cameras and thoughts that Johnny loved doing photography as his hobby. It was when she was walking past by the shore and saw a couple probably in their 70's and still laugh like there 20's and suddenly she wanted to have that life with Johnny as well. She loves Johnny. No, she's in love with him.

Time flew by and it's already February. Her and Johnny never actually got to talk because the guy was so busy doing some things in the company. To the point where he comes home late and leaves early. They rarely see each other. When Kailey finally already knows that she wants to stay in the two's life forever it's just that timing wasn't on her side. She still decided to stay in Suh Residences. She knows her confession can wait. It has come to her attention that it was Johnny's birthday in a few days. She and Leia planned a surprise for the man. They were planning to bake some cake and wait for him to come home since he always come home at around 12am already.

Both Leia and Kailey already finished baking Johnny's cake. It has this cat design because Johnny somewhat resembles a cat especially when he's smiling so hard. They await the coming of the man of the household. When they heard the car engine come they both kept quiet. 

Johnny went inside his house and found it oddly dark and quiet. Not until...

"Happy Birthday to you! Happy birthday to you! Happy birthday, happy birthday, happy birthday, Young-ho." Both Leia and Kailey sang while the older is holding the cake and they also managed to put on some party hats. 

Johnny wrapped his slender arms to the 2 girls in his life. He kissed Leia's cheeks and the Kailey's forehead. He took a brief pause to wish probably before he blew his cake.

"Thank you girls." Johnny said.

Kailey lets Johnny have a moment with his daughter and fix some of the mess that they left in the kitchen. She was in kitchen island wiping the excess flour of the counter when she felt someone hug her from behind and settles his chin on her shoulder. 

"Hmmm? Is Leia asleep already?" Kailey asked obviously knowing who that someone is. 

"Yes, thank you for preparing this for me. I almost forgot that it was my birthday. I know we haven't really had the talk that I promised you before there were just a lot of things happening in the company right now. I feel like I've neglected the two of you." Johnny said still hugging the woman very tightly.

"Silly, it's fine by us. Me and Leia are having a great time ourselves. Go fix whatever you need to fix. Just to know that you still come home to us is already fine by me. Besides, we're not rushing anything Johnny. Or is it Young-ho?" Kailey teased tilting her body around so now that she's facing the birthday boy.

"How did you even know my Korean name?" Johnny asks looking directly at her soul.

"Your parents... they came over earlier and they were kind of waiting for you and you weren't here and I had to accommodate them. They took Leia out because it was a Sunday. And your Mom kind of get close to me and starts telling me things about your childhood. She's lovely Johnny but I must say you look very much the both of them. And don't worry I also have a Korean name if it makes you feel better." 

"Oh wow, let's ignore the talk about my parents and move on to what's you Korean name?" Johnny asks curiously. Both hands on the kitchen island cornering Kailey into his presence. Kailey's hand is over his shoulders. 

"It's Hye-ji." Kailey says.

"That means wisdom, right?" Johnny said.

"Yup!" Kailey responded.

"Moving on, do you want to see my gifts for you? It's not a lot. It's just two. It's in my room." Kailey said feeling excited.

"Sure, baby. Lead the way." Johnny responds with a smirk on his face.

They're now in her room. Johnny is seated at the edge of her bed. She's a the vanity because it was where the gifts were placed. She picked up the rectangular shape one.

"Here's the first one." Kailey said giving Johnny the first gift. She waits as Johnny tore out the gift wrap. It was her sketch turn painting of Johnny busy in his piles of papers in his study/office. Kailey have always wanted to draw so this was something genuine for her.

"Oh, wow. When did you do this? Why didn't I notice you?" Johnny said.

"Prolly because you are so busy Mr. Suh. That's why. Hehe." Kailey giggles then now proceeding to get her 2nd and last gift. 

"This is something that reminded me of you so I got it. It's not much but I hope you'll loved it." Kailey muttered. She watched as Johnny opened the last gift and the shock was evident on his eyes. She gifted him a Fujifilm X 100F Camera. She knows that the man loved photographing things and when she was out she found that one instantly thought of gifting it to him.

"Baby, you didn't have to get this for me. Having you and Leia is already the greatest gifts in my life." Johnny said now putting the gift beside him and pulled the woman towards him.

"god, I love you." Johnny responds pulling the woman into his arms. He didn't process what he said just yet and was about to counter an excuse when...

"I love you too, Suh. " Kailey answered feeling the warmth of the embrace. Johnny held her tighter. 

And that's what happen when you let the universe transpire the good things for you and not push things. They both learned that the hard way.

Chapter Text

Kailey woke up with an arm around her waist. It's been 2 days ever since Johnny's birthday. She softly smiled because she still feels as if it's so surreal. Waking up next to Johnny. She stared at the manly figure in front of her. She feels the comforting peace of the morning breeze and the chills of his embrace. How did I get so lucky?  Kailey thought off. She gently fixed the strands of the man's hair that was covering his eyes. She caressed the mans feature. Slowly letting her index finger trace the facial features of the man. And her finger instinctively was now on Johnny's lips. That reminded her that they never kissed each other on the lips. Not even once and she appreciates that the man was taking it slow with her. That the man respects her. It's rare to find people like these days. Who will not rush you and take there time until you are finally comfortable. She feels at ease with Johnny by her side. It's one of those days where she's grateful that the universe let her to meet Johnny. She met her lifeline. She was deep in thought that she didn't even noticed that Johnny already woke up.

"Goodmorning baby." Johnny said with his husky deep set voice and embraced the woman tighter. 

"Goodmorning too love." Kailey said after chuckling. Snuggling up closer at Johnny's chest.

"Let's eat breakfast shall we?" Kailey asked.

"5 more minutes. I love hugging you like this." Johnny reasons out.

"Sure haha." Kailey responds.

The day was going by quite well for Kailey not until she received a phone call.

"I told you B, I'm not going this time." Kailey says while speaking with her bestfriend through the phone.

"But you've always went into all of the valentines day blind dates I've set up for you. What do you mean you are not going? Is it because of a who?" Bea teased. 

"It's some sort of decency Bea. Technically, I'm still with Johnny regardless of having a label or not. I can't go on a blind date. That will just seem so wrong in my eyes." Kailey said.

"Exactly, you and Johnny aren't even officially together yet. So you can go right?" Bea said hoping.

"I'm sorry B. But not this time. I don't want to fail him. I love him Bea. I won't do something that I'll know will be very disrespectful for him. I haven't seen Johnny angry and I don't think I want to." Kailey responds.

"Okay okay, I won't push you anymore. Just call me whenever you mind changes." Bea says.

"Okay, bye B! Again, I'm sorry." Kailey said.

"HAHHAHHA, no need to say sorry. I was just really testing if you will come. But from the looks of it you are indeed a faithful one. Runs in the blood no'?" Bea murmured.

"BYUN BEA! How dare you! HAHHAH well I guess really it runs in the blood. Take care. Mwa! Enjoy V day with my cousin." Kailey  replied.

"Eww geez no thanks. He's too airy for me. Bye, hope you enjoy V day as well!" Bea said before ending the call.

The funny thing is that Kailey knows that her bestfriend likes her cousin no matter how much she tried to deny. It all started during Christmas day. Where Bea visited her apartment and didn't know that her cousin was staying over the night and you could guess what happened in there. 

Kailey exhaled. She's out here in the background of the house. Leia took an afternoon nap that's why she have some free time. She sat on the swing and watched the sun set. She adores sunsets. How the sky turns from orange to pink and then purple. She couldn't help but wonder. She's happy with whatever she have with Johnny. But she needs some reassurance as well. 

Johnny came home and was wondering where his girls are. He checked up stairs and saw that his daughter was peacefully sleeping. He checked the other parts of the house to find his woman. It didn't take him that long to see her in the backyard. Seemingly lost in thought and was just looking at the sky. She doesn't look happy but not sad either... confused with be the right term. Johnny quietly went to her. 

"Hey..." Johnny says and the woman was shocked to see him.

"Oh hey, you're already home." Kailey responds. 

"Penny for your thoughts?" Johnny asked positioning himself to sit beside the woman. 

"Hmm, Bea called." Kailey said.

"Uh-hum?" Johnny responds asking of her to continue.

"Since uhm you know Valentine's day is around the corner. Me and Bea actually do have some sort of tradition. This like started 3 years ago." Kailey said still looking at the sky.

"And what's that tradition?" Johnny encourages her. Lifting her hand and kissing the knuckles.

"How do I even... Well uhm it's more of like she sets me up on blind dates every Valentine's." Kailey says.

"So, will you be going in this year as well?" Johnny teased (still kissing her knuckles).

"No! Of course not. I have you." Kailey was quick to respond.

"Very well then. Mind telling me about these past dates of yours?" Johnny asked curiously.

"Well, technically... all of those dates are just a one time thing. It never gets more than that. Believe me, I tried to feel some sort of connection with them but it was just not it. Was frustrating at some point. Like thoughts running through my head that maybe there's really no one for me in this world but then you came." Kailey said now facing Johnny.

"How about this you can go and do your tradition." Johnny speaks calmly.

"What, No-"

"Only if you'll take me as your date because I intend to be your Valentines date this year. *a kiss on the pinky finger* Next year... *a kiss on the ring finger* and then the next... *a kiss on the middle finger* and the year following that... *a kiss on the index finger.* and for the all the valentine's day you'll be celebrating through your life." Johnny says sincerely and the woman couldn't help but blush.

"Are you saying..." Kailey asks.

"Yes, I want to be your Valentines date starting this year until we're old and grey. To think of it we rarely had any chance to be in a proper date. That's why here's me asking you if you want to be my valentines date for the rest of our lives?" Johnny says.

"Of course, Young-ho. I'd love to." Kailey said eloping the man with an embrace.

To say the Kailey is nervous would be an understatement. She carefully checked her outfit once again. She was wearing a red midi silk slip dress. It has a beautiful back and it accentuate her curves in the right places. She also put her brunette hair on a braided updo to make her back stand-out more. She wore a nude pair of heels to partner it with. She also put on some make-up so that she won't look pale. Kailey was nervous because not only is this going to be her first official date with Johnny but because this is also the first time she wore something this revealing but it looks good on her and Johnny deserves someone who looks good. 

She's currently staying at her apartment. Johnny sent her here so that she could be prepare for their date. She checked her small little gold watch and checked the time. It was already 6:45 in the evening. Johnny will fetch her at 7. She put on some of her accessories. Like the necklace that her Halmeoni gave her. The bracelet that Johnny gifted her for Christmas. She also managed to put on so cute little earrings. Lastly, she slipped a gold ring in her middle finger. She was already settled and ready for the day. 

It didn't take that long when she heard the doorbell rang. She opened with a smile plastered on her face. She has yet to wear her coat so Johnny is seeing her in full bloom. His gazed was stuck in her. 

"Hey..." Kailey said.

"You are so beautiful." Johnny says and Kailey blushed. 

"Thank you. You look dashing as well." Kailey replied. It's true though. Johnny was in a suit and tie and although she had always seen him wore attires like this it still feels different. But his hair however, it was styled in the way Kailey had yet to see. It's like everything was sleek back but there are a few loose strand that form in a coma. He looks like a prince. (for the hair preference search 181128 Johnny) 

"Let me get my coat for a moment then we can go." Kailey says.

"Sure." Johnny replied still in awe with the beautiful figure that he had just seen.

They were already in the car and was on the way in the restaurant that Johnny reserved for them. Johnny opened the door of the car for her like he usually do. She wanted to hold Johnny's hand but she skeptical about it. Then the song fine line by harry styles was played. 

Put a price on emotion
I'm looking for something to buy

Kailey felt her breathed hitch because as soon as the song started Johnny's hand made its way to her left thigh.

But man, I can hate you sometimes

But she soon got comfortable with the man's touch and she just smile while looking at him. Johnny looked at her as well and gently caressed her thigh. Then looked back at the road and continued driving. Kailey couldn't help but feel so safe under the man's touch.

Johnny was tapping his fingers her thighs in accordance with the beat of the song that was playing.

We'll get the drinks in

They left Leia in the care of Johnny's parents saying this is the first time they will go out all alone and of course the parents happily accepted. They love how Johnny is finally letting someone in. All they want is for their son to settle down and be finally happy.

Kailey remembered the thought she had a few days ago. That Johnny is her lifeline. The song was getting heavy because of the mood of the song but the peace that it gives the both of them was good enough.

Come to think of it there is still a lot of things that they have yet to know about each other but they a lifetime for that don't they?

Johnny sang the line while looking a there for a brief moment and squeezed her thigh. She exhaled. She really is in love with Johnny.

There are a lot of doubts that is going around her head but she's ready.

She's ready to open herself up for Johnny. She's ready to let him in without any reservations.

They both sang the part in unison and smiled at each other. They could only hope that they'll be a fine line.

After that dramatic scene that occurred in the car, they already arrived at their destination. It was very obvious that it's Valentine's day with the amount of red and hearts Kailey can see. There were a lot of people but it wasn't crowded. It was a bit dark only the candle lit lights and some soft yellow light giving brightness to the place. There is also a dancefloor in the middle and the stage with a live band. The waiter assisted them to direct where they should be seated. Kailey couldn't help feel overwhelm with some people eyeing her. For she had to remove her coat when she's inside but however Johnny must have noticed this as he gently wrapped his arms on the way to the her waist and Kailey was taken aback.  Especially since her bare back was showing and he could feel the textures of Johnny's hands. She feels at ease though.

While waiting for their order Kailey couldn't help but observe. There were a lot couples present in the restaurant. This was a day full of love after all. 

"So uhm, how about we get to know each other first?" Johnny asked shyly. Shaking as he took a sip of the red wine.

"Aren't we a little bit too late to do that?" Kailey teased.

"I mean of course I know some things about you already but come to think of it I have yet to know when your birthday is." Johnny questioned. Kailey couldn't help but force a smile. It seems like she hasn't really opened herself to Johnny other than about her pms and her parents.

"You really didn't checked my resume no'?" Kailey asked gently.

"Oh, I long forgotten about that but I would love to hear it coming from you. " Johnny said eagerly.

"Hmm, sure. I was born on the 9th of October year 2000." Kailey responds.

"Oh wow, we both are born on the 9th of the month." Johnny said enthusiastically. 

"Yup, exactly." Kailey said.

"But wait, that means we didn't get to celebrate your birthday last year. I'm so sorry." Johnny said being remorseful.

"Haha Johnny, don't be. It's fine. Ever since Halmeoni died, I don't really celebrate my birthday. It just feels lonely. But I do however give back to people during my birthday, by the means of giving scholarships to children depending on what age I am. So like for example last year I turned 25. I gave 25 scholarships to those people who want to study but wasn't given a chance. This is not in any way bragging by the way." Kailey said sweetly sipping a little bit of her wine as well. 

"Wait, I already know on as to where you get your money and it's lovely that you're giving back a lot to people but if it's okay can you explain to me what really goes on in your line of business?" Johnny says. Kailey sheepishly smiled the CEO out of Johnny came out.

"As I've told you we have lands all over the world. By lands meaning to say farms and fields. It's up to the specific place as to what they grow in there. Like example in our lands in Italy we have a winery because wines are famous in Italy. Actually, this wine that we are currently drinking right now is from our harvest." Kailey answered honestly.

"Oh wow. That's how it works. I already know that you wanted to work because it seems like you have nothing better to do-" Johnny was interupted.

"Johnny, about that. This keeps slipping on my mind but can you please stop giving me salary for tutoring Leia? I mean I appreciate it but I rarely touch the money that you have given me because it just feels so weird. But I would love to continue tutoring her and stay by her side or even more than that." Kailey said. 

Johnny was about to say something but their orders came and he just lets them enjoy the comfort of food for a while.

"Ah, I feel so full!" Kailey exaggerated. They just finished eating their dessert that came after their full course meal.

"Same here." Johnny chuckles softly. He's been meaning to officially asked Kailey to be his girlfriend and he thinks now is the right time. He also want Kailey to officially move into their house but she has to talk about this with the woman first.

"I hope I answered all of your questions, Mr. Suh." Kailey says because they talked a lot about each other while they were eating.

"Actually there's still one more question you haven't answered but before that may I please have this dance?" Johnny asks standing up and showing his hand for the woman to decided whether to accept or not.

"Of course, Young-ho." Kailey responded and held Johnny's hand supporting her to stand up.

They both smiled as they reach the dancefloor because a familiar tune was heard. Ah, a classic.

Upon hearing the first few lines Kailey put her hands at Johnny's nape and Johnny swiftly puts his arms around Kailey's waist. They were slowly moving with the music.

Johnny smiled. He just knows that her heart wholly with this woman he's currently dancing with. He fell in love with how she loves the color sage and beige. How she always managed to stay calm and compose during different circumstances and situations. How she bottle her up emotions but lets them out when it gets too much. How she managed to kept on going now matter how rough life was with her. Johnny couldn't help but be proud of Kailey. She's been through so much but still remain gentle and loving. Rather than getting into arguments she would always be the first to withdraw for the betterment of all.

Johnny pulled the woman closer and now Kailey was leaning into Johnny's chest. Her fingers intertwined in his nape. Johnny does the same in her waist. To be more ironic Kailey's head was really place into Johnny's beating heart. She feels so relaxed like this.

Kailey knows that this line in the song is factual. No matter what happens with them in the future she will keep loving Johnny as if they were still right here in this moment. She feels like she's home. Johnny is her home.

Johnny sang this part of this song in her ears and she couldn't help but bit her lips to stop smiling so wide but her cheeks will sell her out because of how red it is.

She decided to look up at Johnny at saw the universe in his eyes. She wouldn't have done in any other way. People really do indeed fall in love in mysterious ways.

She's now in Johnny's loving arms. She felt the sense of fulfillment. Like how there was a missing puzzle piece in her life that she didn't knew was missing and Johnny was that piece. Johnny filled in her gaps and made her whole in some way.

Kailey couldn't help but to cry tears of joy. Instead of a response she did what the song suggested "kiss me under the light of a thousand stars" and she surely did. She kissed Johnny with confidence and the man kissed her back. Cupping her jaw to make the kiss feel more comfortable. That was it there first kiss. Not to extravagant but something so special for the both of them. It took them a couple of minutes before letting each other go but Johnny stole a quick smack again. Kailey couldn't help but chuckle.

"So I'm guessing it's a yes?" Johnny teased.

"Of course, silly. I would love to be yours." Kailey expounded now hugging Johnny again while swaying their bodies.

Both Kailey and Johnny thank the heavens because they did found love right where they were.

Chapter Text

Time flew by for the both of them. They celebrated Leia's birthday in June. Then now it's October. Kailey's birthmonth. Especifically 2 days before her birthday. She and Johnny are now staying in what used to be Johnny's own bedroom. It took a month of convincing before she finally said yes. Now the both of them are lying in the bed. Talking about where they will go during her birthday. They were planning to have a getaway just the two of them and Kailey suggested that they should go in where her loved ones are buried and Johnny agreed saying that he wants to officially meet them. Kailey felt her heart tugged because of how Johnny loves every side of her. Johnny's parents were so supportive of their relationship and Kailey felt like she was blessed with parents once more. Their relationship was going smoothly. Except for the fact that they still haven't done that yet. Johnny respects Kailey and is still waiting for her. While Kailey is thinking why Johnny hasn't made any move regarding that. They've known each other for more than a year and almost 8 months of being together. 

Kailey and Johnny decided to also stay for the time being on Kailey's beach house while they are there. Kailey insisted on bringing Leia with them but it seems like Johnny has other plans. Although Kailey promised Leia that they will eat lunch together before they leave in the afternoon. The ride there isn't really going to them that long. But Kailey has decided that even though it is her birthday, she wants to give Johnny a gift.

They are on the way to the cemetery while Kailey is directing Johnny. She couldn't help but feel nervous for what's bound to happen tonight. It's going to be her first time after all. She was just staring at the window with her hand above Johnny's hand that is currently on her left thigh. She was deep in thought that she haven't noticed that they already arrived. Johnny seem to notice that. 

"Hey baby, we're already here." Johnny said while squeezing the woman's thigh. Kailey couldn't help but closed her thighs together because of the sudden motion. Johnny was shocked. Then Kailey relaxes her thighs once more.

"Oh? Sorry I didn't notice." Kailey responds. Averting her gaze everywhere excepts Johnny's eyes. She is flushed red right now. Removing her seatbelt.

"Hey? Are you good?" Johnny asked worriedly.

"Yes, of course hehe. Let's go already. I'm sure the lovebirds and my angel would be glad too meet you." Kailey said opening the car door. They met outside and held hands.

"I hope they will." Johnny responds. Kailey directed him to where there grave is. 

"Hey lovebirds and my angel. I'm with someone. I know it's already been so ever sine I last visited but today I didn't come alone. Remember the guy I was talking about before? He's now my boyfriend and he's here with me. I hope you accept him." Kailey said while still holding his hands. She now sat in between the tombs and was welcomed with the cold breeze of the upcoming winter wind. Johnny also followed what she did and sat.

"Hi. I'm Johnny Suh. 31 years old born on the 9th of February year 1995. I am an owner of a big company called NEO corp. And I also have a daughter named Leia. The one Kailey was tutoring. I wanted to meet you in person but I think this is the closest I can get. I want to formally ask you if I can have Kailey stay in my life. She's the sweetest human being I have ever met. She was real and not afraid to fight for what is right. She is so gentle and caring about the people she loves. I promise to never make her feel alone again. She deserves only the good things in this world and I will give her exactly that. I just wanted all of you to know that she's safe with me." Johnny said and feeling the breeze and Kailey couldn't help but cry and bury her face to Johnny's shoulders. She remembered the last thing that she said when she here before that if Johnny is the man for her they will be given both a sense of security and this was that. Johnny offering her the security. Kailey cried harder and Johnny hugged her tighter. running his hands through her back offering some sort of comfort. It took a while for Kailey to feel better.

They already arrived at Kailey's beach house. She is currently on her way to the pool. With a silk robe covering her body. Johnny is currently on a phone call with a business partner so that means Kailey is left alone. It's already 5 am in the afternoon. She removed her robe and is now just left with a swimsuit on and slowly maneuvered down the pool. The golden hour is hitting her perfectly. The pool have a walkaway towards the ocean. Their beach house is rather an private one since Kailey acquired the surrounding lands for privacy. She preferred it this way. Peace and quiet. If she's going to talk about the place the exterior of the house is actually pretty simple but the inside of the house is more modern. It's only and up and down with 3 rooms. She wanted to stay here in the pool because it was heated rather than the cold water of the ocean. She's always been a water baby. She loved the ocean. She remembered getting excited everytime she and her Halmeoni would go in here. She will be in the ocean 10 minutes after arrival. She also remembered the time when she celebrated her 18th birthday at the Amalfi Coast in Italy. She loved the water. It keeps her alive. She drowned herself in the water and memories.

Johnny just finished his phone call with his business partner. Kailey had already told him that she would take a quick dip on the pool. Johnny changed into his swimming trunks and since he doesn't feel getting on the water just yet he decided to chill a bit on the sun lounger that is infront of the pool. He still haven't saw the woman because she is in deep the waters and Kailey also wasn't aware of Johnny's presence.

Kailey went above the water after diving for minutes. She was closing her eyes while fixing her hair while walking towards the end of the pool. Johnny was shocked to see such a goddess of a woman. She was wearing a sage green bikini that enables her curves to stand out more. Kailey opened her eyes and was shocked because of the piercing gaze Johnny was giving her. She bit her lip to stop herself from smiling so hard. After fully getting out of the pool she went to side where the towel is and dried herself up. Johnny was still following her movements. 

"Hey love." Kailey said with a smile.

"Hey baby." Johnny says with a smirk. He reached out to her hands to pull her closer but Kailey was quick to decline.

"Nooo love, I'm drenched. I don't want to make a mess." Kailey responds.

"Let's just back into the waters for the both of us to get drenched right?" Johnny said on a convincing tone.

Removing the towel that was wrapped around Kailey and was carrying her like bridal style. It took a moment before Kailey realized what was happening but nonetheless she puts her arms around Johnny's nape. She felt the heated water on their bodies and Johnny helped her to stand up while her arms are still where they used to be. Almost automatically Johnny placed his hands on the woman's waist.

Kailey looked up and saw that Johnny was already staring at her. Kailey's hazel eyes stood out more because of the golden hue from the sun. Johnny made there bodies closer. The art of eye contact. They were just staring at each other for moments until Kailey made their nose bop each other. Smiling cheekily after doing so. Johnny gripped her waist tighter. Kailey look at Johnny again but this time she placed a quick peck on his lips. Biting her lips after doing so. She did it again and she can see that Johnny was giving her a questionable look. And on the third time Johnny didn't let the Kailey move her lips away from his. He cupped Kailey's face and kissed her properly. Johnny bits Kailey's lower lip asking for entrance and Kailey accepts. Now their tongues are doing the their own things. It was messy but they loved it. It took minutes for them to finally let go of each other. They both smiled savoring the moment of glory. Kailey was the first to pull away and swim. Johnny, ofcourse, followed suit. 

There is something that changed with the both of them and Kailey knows she isn't the only one who's craving for something. After they swam, they put some clothes on and cooked dinner. While making dinner there were a lot of times that they would make out. Kailey almost lost hope that they could even eat dinner at that point but they still managed. Now, they're in the veranda of the room with a clear view of the night sky. There were sitting in such a comfortable and big swing. She is in between Johnny's legs and the man was back-hugging her. They are currently drinking wine but still sober.

They felt the cold breeze of the wind that is eloping between the two of them. This is what they love about each other. How they respect each other's quiet times. How they compliment each other more than any other people would. They just match. Johnny kissed Kailey's shoulder from the back. She felt chills going down her spine. She squeezed Johnny's bicep because of the motion. Johnny didn't stop there he kissed her neck next. Smearing sloppy kisses and Kailey couldn't help but moan at the intense feeling. Johnny smirked from the reaction. He kissed her chin next. Kailey tilted to kiss Johnny's lips. The tension between them is growing as the minutes pass by. Kailey fixed her position and turned her whole body towards Johnny. 

She's now currently sitting on his lap. Johnny's left hand is at her cheek guiding their kiss while the other is on her waist. She pressed herself more on the man's body. Johnny lets out a groan. Kailey smiled at that. Their tongues feeling each other and teeth cackling. 

"Baby?" Johnny asked seems like asking for consent with his eyes full of worry.

"I want this Young-ho. I want you." Kailey managed to responds.

The next thing she knew Johnny was kissing her chest. While standing up. Holding her ass to keep her from falling. Walking all the way to their bed. Johnny laid down the woman on the bed. He went back unto kissing her while slowly untying her wrap-around dress. He looked at Kailey once more with eyes that are asking if she really wants this. Johnny knows that it's the woman's first time and he wants to make it memorable for her. Kailey respond with a nod and from there Johnny quickly removed the woman's dress. He was faced with Kailey's beautiful and flawless body. Wearing a floral green lingerie.
