The secret of the Mountain

Summary:

The cave started to tremble. The ground cracked and it finally fell, carrying her away. Apparently, god had better plans for her, somehow she ended up in a long kind of slide. Pointy rocks appeared at times and she could only protect herself with her arms, her sweater was a mess and she could guess the rest of her was the same. When the slide was finally over, she fell.

Or Azula enters into a strange cave, gets trapped, and finds a civilization of people who can seemingly make fire from nowhere.

Chapter Text

Father was going to be really mad. If he doesn't kill her, he is going to make her wish that. It wasn't her fault that the teacher hated everyone, in particular woman, and did everything he could to make everyone fail the subject. Unfortunately, Mr. Pakku somehow accomplished his duty (although he made half of the group fail it with an exam that was for college), and she could only get a B +.

And normally she wouldn't mind getting home and prepare for father's judgment. But there was a problem. Her hair. She only wanted to cut her bangs but ended up cutting a little bit too much. . It wasn't that short she thought, it's length was till the beginning of her neck, it could still pass like a girl cut. But her father would still be mad of her doing something without his permission. But still It was almost as short as the boy's haircuts...

It´s okay…

After all,  father wanted a perfect son, a boy.  He would be so happy when he finds out that she could do that. Except for the fact that even though he considers her as his boy, she wasn't allowed to act, look or be like a boy, and if she ever tried it he would punish her worse than Zuko. She can't end like Zuko.

That's why she ran awaywent to her secret spot. A meadow in the mountain.  But she was too nervous to try taking a rest or playing the violin. That's why she decided to explore. Once the car was hidden, and after she took her exploration backpack and her violin (in case there wasn't anything interesting), she began to walk. Tall trees, rocks and branches, odd beetles walking, and then a cave.

And normally she wouldn't enter alone, she would bring Mai or even Ty lee with her. No one knows what kind of people would be there, even dangerous animals or an unknown species. But she wasn't going to get this chance anytime soon. So fuck it.

Turning on the lantern she went inside, it started like any other cave. It was damp, and there were many layers of stone; soon an illustration appeared. A man giving a blow and apparently fire came from his fist? Going deeper and deeper, even more, pictures began to appear, all of them with people and fire. Perhaps they were from a lost culture that worshiped fire and dragons, who also breathed fire. Well, the latter was more common in fairy stories.

Finally the flashlight illuminated something stuck to the wall that marked the end of the cave. A fire symbol that appeared to be made of gold and ruby. Perhaps father would forgive her if she gave that, he always seems to like fire and gold. What would be the best gift if it wasn't that?

Now backing up a little bit, it was strange that this cave hadn't been explored, and that gold fire-shaped hadn't been stolen. Well even better for her. Touching the symbol it seemed not to be completely attached to the wall, she tried to pull it out, but it didn't work. Then she pressed it.

The cave started to tremble, the ground cracked and it finally fell, carrying her away. Apparently, God had better plans for her, there was some kind of a slide and she ended up going through there. Pointy rocks appeared at times and she could only protect herself with her arms, her sweater was a mess and she could guess the rest of her was the same. When the slide was finally over, she fell.

This definitely wasn't her day.

She looked around. The place was lit by torches that were placed by columns, following the top of a column that gave way to what looked like the roof of a church. A great sun was in the middle, and outlining its circumference in endless pursuit were two dragons, one blue and one red. Looking at it better, the whole place looked like a temple. Then she noticed the presence of two people in strange clothes. They were both getting closer.

After a long time, I decided to leave this chapter-length this short. The next chapters would be longer.

Chapter 2: Chapert 2 (before the restart)

Summary:

Hi, it's been a long time, this is the last chapter before rewritting this

Chapter Text

Episode 2

Hiding behind a column he thought. She could go hide but would it really change anything? She never did it with father and he punishes her. The steps were heard getting closer, and time was running out.

She thought of Mai and Tylee, she thought of her brother when he was nice, and she thought of her father. Would they miss her? Mai would probably be happy, she would finally stop being among the siblings and she would be able to spend more time with Zuzu, Ty Lee would cry but after a few months she would let her go. Zuzu would be happy, he's always been happier when she's not around. Her father would miss her, he loved her, he loved her so much that he did everything possible to prevent her from failing. He loved her as intensely as he loved her mother, and she took her place.

A pair of hands grabbed her under her armpits and pulled her up, she tried to fight, kicked as hard as she could, and she managed to kick the other person. She heard a growl and what sounded like a curse in another language that she couldn't understand. The little fight did not last long because soon they grabbed her legs, the two people began to walk.

With each step they advanced it was more difficult to stay in good condition, they began to sweat a lot and a beep began to sound, the murmurs that both people shared were increasingly distant and annoying.

Tears began to accumulate on her eyelashes and she began to cry, the feeling of discomfort in her extremities was increasing and only made her sob more. and then one last look from someone concerned before everything faded to black.

—-

Some distant murmurs began to be heard, when she opened her eyes a blinding light doubted her, causing her to close them reflexively. A murmur grew louder as if someone was getting closer. Suddenly a shadow covered the light that gave her face. Opening her eyes again, it took her a few seconds to focus, and when they did she found a middle-aged woman looking at her with concern. The woman's lips moved but she couldn't understand what she was saying.

"Sorry?" She winced at her raspy voice.

The woman looked at her in confusion, but soon her expression changed to compression, the woman moved away from her. Again the light hit her eyes, making her blink hard, once accustomed to the light, she looked around the room. It looked like a doctor's office, one from a very old time when medicine was only plants, the woman who was with her before seemed to be talking to two other girls. She lost interest when she couldn't understand them.

Recovering more and more sense, she should not be here. She shouldn't be at rest surrounded by enemies. How had she gotten here in the first place?

School-Court-Car-Mountain-Cave-Temple.

She then was in a room, with strangers who spoke another language, lying on a stretcher, inside the mountain. Perfect. Shit. Where are the things? Her gaze swept the surroundings, plants, stone, stone floor, a window? There were no clues about her stuff.

Father was going to be furious, not only had he gotten a terrible grade, cut off his hair and fallen into a cave, but he had lost all of his stuff. Father was going to banish her from her house like Zuzu.

Good. She was not going to sit still waiting for her final fate. She was going to escape from this place, no matter what she had to do for it.

Episode 2

(This is the version without being translated with Google cus I'm to lazy rn to translate it word by word)
Capitulo 2

Also this was written two years ago 💀
I hope I can do it better

Chapter 3: Side-B Mai

Summary:

Side-B

Heyyyy it's been a while. I'm back again.

Chapter Text

When I met Azula she was still a child, still smiling big without worries or horrors. We met one summer when my parents took me to a meeting at my father's work, that was the first time I saw her.

I wasn't someone who talked a lot or someone who was restless, but that seemed to interest her.

Her brother Zuko was very attached to his mother, he often acted like he was younger than his sister but he was two year older than her and one older than myself. I didn't thought of him that much other than I thought it was cute at that moment.

Soon I was caught in a war between the two of them, Zuko who was kind and Azula who hid the kindness from her and put thorns around her.

Not that I could particularly blame her, her mother didn't seem to love her and her father was busy working all the time to pay her enough attention.

As the years went by, things between Azula and I became more and more tense, as if we were both grabbing a rope and constantly pulling it in opposite directions.

I had to get a break from her, I had to get a break before I ended up murdering her.

The day we last spoke arrived.

It was 5 years after her mother abandoned her and 2 months after her brother moved in with her uncle, Azula had been more and more unstable that I thought at any moment she could kill me or herself.

It started as a small argument, over something as mundane as continuing to talk to her “traitor” brother, I didn't think much about it until she made me choose between the two. If only I had been calm, if only Azula had been like she was before, I would have chosen her without hesitation.

But Azula was being an idiot and it was really bothering me, I said what needed to be said. I told her that I loved her brother more than I feared her.

I'm not afraid of her, I'm afraid of what she could became, I'm afraid of what could become of her in the future, I'm afraid of what her father wants to turn her into.

Azula made a complicated face, I thought she was going to kill me right then and there, but she just turned around and kicked me out of her house. I wanted to fix things but I knew Azula wouldn't let me.

From then on it was as if we had never met, she acted as if I didn't exist and I played along.

I should have done something, she should have fixed things, but I just couldn't. Azula was an idiot and I couldn't talk to her, not now.

The next time I heard from her it was too late. Azula had disappeared.

My mind was filled with terror as I tried to think what could have happened to her, if her father had done something to her or if she had committed suicide.

The news didn't help much, they only talked about how she didn't come home one day, how they couldn't find her red Porsche and how on the security cameras she appeared for the last time with her hair in a mess.

If she had stayed by her side, maybe she would still be here. And maybe she would have killed me instead of disappearing.

I hope Azula keeps her thorns and shitty personality close, I hope she remembers her karate lessons, I hope she's okay and doesn't need them. I wish she had called me.

Notes:

I might change the whole history again but keeping the elements as they were. Only another rewritten.

Uhhh, this takes place two days after Azula enters the cave.

And I was thinking if I should make like another page to write the differents povs while keeping only here the Azula's parts.

Like one is inside the mountain and other outside.

Chapter 4: Chapter 3

Summary:

Azula plans on escaping

Notes:

its been a long time guys, I almost lost this chapter.

(See the end of the chapter for more notes.)

Chapter Text

It wasn't long before the woman returned, greeting her with a calm smile, as if Azula wasn't losing her nerve here. The woman motioned for her to follow her and on second thought she didn't have a better plan. She could escape along the way and hide until she found a way out of the place, but that plan was soon forgotten once she left the room.

Well it was some kind of hospital, the reception was occupied by some healers and a group of children who were being treated for burns? But that was not what surprised her, the hospital had windows, windows that faced an outside illuminated by something very strong that could only be the sun... but why would there be sun inside a cave?

The woman had to drag a stunned Azula all the way to an altar, where she left her alone. The altar was right in the middle of the place, it was a large and luxurious place. She was right at the beginning of the stairs where she had to climb about 15 steps until she reached the podium, a circular podium that on the floor had a drawing of two dragons chasing each other's tails.

The architecture around was similar, it was obvious that it was the local plaza. There were some places that seemed to be merchants who were now curious looking at it. The sun was hitting her face hard and she had to use one hand to shield herself from the sun. She noticed the lack of a roof in the cave, which surprised her a lot, before she had already climbed the mountain and it didn't had a hole this big to allow the sun enter.

She wanted to flee, she was sure that they were going to sacrifice her and open her insides to please the gods of these people. She looked around looking for a way to escape but soon found that she could only jump off the podium and pray that she would not break an ankle, maybe run down the stairs and hope not to get caught. Before she could get close to the shore a strong wind came, but it wasn't a gust or some natural wind... No, this one looked like it was a bird... but 10 times bigger.

Her throat went dry and her normally serious eyes widened. This wasn't real. A red dragon was flying above her, getting closer to her. A gasp left her throat as she fell on her butt onto the neat floor. Do dragons exist? Did dragons really exist? A maniacal laugh threatened to start. She really had lost it, hadn't she?

-"You are not crazy". -A deep voice echoed in her head. This obviously scared her more. -“W-Who are you?”-Azula asked out in the open, she could barely control her nervousness.

-“Fear not, child of mine. We have been waiting for your return.” -The deep voice was heard again, and the dragon's eyes were watching it. Fixedly.

What is this anime thing going on? Azula felt a little dazed at the fantastic situation that was occurring. Because they had been waiting for her? Before she could follow her train of thought the dragon interrupted her again, in her head... how crazy.

-”The answers will come eventually… Welcome back… daughter of Agni.”- The dragon's eyes seemed smiling, it was truly a wonderful thing to see, such a curious color. The dragon approached her, as she held her breath. A claw touched her forehead and her body collapsed to the floor.

Notes:

Okay so this is my comeback? I never really thought I could be reached by the fate of fanfic writers but then things happened. I can't believe I started this when I was starting highschool and now I'm going on university.

So basically on my 2nd year I became an alcoholic by some bad friendships, then I almost killed myself on school by accident so they took me to child psychiatric and they let me go but I still got to go to a Youth integration center . I got way better got diagnosed with autism and depresión and I managed to end highschool with a great grades, and without getting expelled.

And well here I am other stuff happened but I'm still processing that. But expect other longer!chapters to come and to finally have a proper chapter 2. Also sorry for the inconsistent writing here, I forgot how I used to write and I came up strange.
