"Sometimes, I just wanna be someones princess." Sasha tilted her head at the words that came out of Anne's mouth as they sat atop their hill, their spot. It was their own way to get away from everything else, to be alone, but still together. Most that's said on this specific hill, stayed here. No one else besides the two of them knew about it, not even Marcy.
It wasn't that they were hiding it from the girl, if she somehow found out or asked about it, they would be happy to tell her. But, it seemed like an unspoken rule at this point that this space where secrets were shared and where they stayed. Like a chest where Anne and Sasha are both the keys and the treasures inside.
"What do you mean by that?" Sasha had turned her gaze up to the night sky again. The chill breeze brushed over her skin sending a soft shuder down her spine.
"Well, y'know, special? It's hard to explain..." The Thai girl took a second to gather her thoughts, and Sasha let her take her time. At night, the blondes barriers fell, all the sharp edges of Sasha Waybright softened just a bit when the sun set. "I'm used to being strong, saving people and being confident but... I just like to think about how it would feel to have someone love you so much that you didn't need to be strong all the time." Anne smiled a bit and closed her eyes
"Princes are stupid to run into dumbass situations just to save a random pretty girl, but just imagine how she feels. Knowing she's special enough to be saved." She sighed and opened her eyes to look at the stars again.
Sasha took some moments of silence, thought, and consideration before she turned over to look at the other girl. Her blonde hair fell over her shoulders as she did. "You're.. " Anne turned over to face her and meet her eyes. "You're my princess." Her eyes widened and her cheeks flushed as she stuttered over her own words. Sasha took her fair share of regret after saying the words.
"God that was cheesy as fuck, look-" But the girl got distracted by the new weight on her hand. Anne's own was placed on top of hers, rubbing it slightly with her thumb. She felt her cheeks grow even warmer, but she didn't dare move. Anne was looking at her and she was smiling, after wavering a bit Sasha met Anne's eyes in return.
"Thanks.. Really." Anne tilted her a head a bit at Sasha, her hair covering part of her face as she did.
Returning the smile Sasha stared at her friend and took in her beauty for the first time in a while. Her eyes, her hair, lips, the small freckles that dotted at the bridge of her nose. All this time she had known Anne was beautiful but just now she realized just how beautiful she was.
She loved her.
The realization hit her like a train, she hoped it didn't show through. She loved Anne, she always had. The feelings she has been having, how the thought of the other girl always made her nervous and blush up a storm, how she would stay up at night hugging her pillow and thinking only of her. It all made sense now.
"Sasha..? "
"Huh!? Oh! - Y-Yeah anytime Anna-Banana" Sasha ruffled Anne's already messy hair causing her to scoff and turn away.
"Way to ruin it, Sash" Anne teased looking out off the hill with a smile on her face.
"You love me" Sasha said as she lay back to look up at the stars, Anne's hand still pressed against hers.
