  I especially love stories that broaden my horizon and help me to better understand myself and others. Here you will find fics from different fandoms that take mental health seriously and portray the characters' actions in a realistic manner.

  Disclaimer: I don't have any professional knowledge about mental health or psychology. Therefore, my assessment is strictly subjective. If any of the mental health issues are portrayed unrealisticly in your opinion, I hope you don't mind.

  ❗TW❗: many stories in this collection deal with heavy topics like ABUSE, NEGLECT, RAPE, SELF HARM, SUICIDE, and more. While the characters' struggles are realisticly depicted (in my eyes), some characters do not deal with their issues in the healthiest ways. For some stories that is probably one reason for feeling realistic. If you have any troubles, please get help. Talk to someone you trust, or maybe someone on your regional mental health hotline, or a fellow Ao3 member in some comments. You are not alone and not the only one who understands. Even if it feels sometimes like it. Stories like the ones in this collection show me that no one is alone with their struggles.
