   Summary

   The year is 1899.

   Bucky had been riding a long time. Once his younger sister got married and had her first kid, he realized she was going to do just fine without him. He promised to write every chance he got. So far, Bucky did. Every ranch, every settlement, every town he stayed in, he sent a letter assuring her that yes, he was alive and still capable of work.

   After suffering from heat exhaustion, he is taken in by Steve, a young man living on his own. The longer they stay together, Steve and Bucky realize that they both carry a weight so crushing, the only solace they can find is in each other's company.
