December 19th.

Today was Matsuno Chifuyu's birthday.

But this birthday was different than the rest he celebrated.

"Happy birthday, Partner!"

"Happy birthday, Chifuyu!"

"Happy birthday, 'Fuyu."

"Happy birthday, Matsuno-san!"

"I got you a little something for your special day!"

"Here's a gift for you, I hope you like it!"

"We might not know eachother that well, but here's a gift. I hope you enjoy it!"

Chifuyu was grateful for all the birthday wishes and gifts he received, he truly was. But something was missing.

A certain someone was missing.

Chifuyu woke up from his nap and looked around to check the time.

10AM.

Chifuyu lazily gets off his bed, and cleans his room while he's at it. When he opens the door to his room, oh boy was he not expecting any of this. He noticed many "misplaced" banana peels all over the floor, and a certain black haired boy. The specific black haired boy couldn't help but chuckle, thinking his prank was going to work, but the tables completely flipped on him. Instead of Chifuyu tripping over the banana peels, it was Baji himself. Chifuyu couldn't hold back his laughter.

" BAHAHA! You idiot, what were you even trying to do?"

"Ugh, shut up, isn't it obvious what I was trying to do? It doesn't matter, I'll get you next time! In the meantime, clean up the mess would ya?"

"What'd you even do with the rest of the bananas? There's so many banana peels here."

"Tried making a disgusting banana smoothie to shove down your throat with. Didn't end up well, I broke your blender I think."

"HUH??"

"It's fine, don't worry too much about it!"

"Baji how did you even break a blender with JUST bananas??"

"I dunno how to worth those piece of junks, you can't blame me!"

"I'll check it out after I clean up your mess, but you owe me if the blender broke."

"Whatever."

"By the way, did I forget to tell you something?"

"Huh? What do you mean Baji?"

"I meant Happy Birthday, idiot. You're getting old!"

"I'm NOT old!"

"..But thank you, Baji-san."

After the first failed attempt to prank Chifuyu on his birthday, Baji tried again and again to get back, only for him to receive the end of the short stick. It somehow ends up with Baji breaking Chifuyu's property.

This birthday didn't feel the same.

It was so dull.

There was no prank to wake up to,

There was no black haired boy mischievously waiting in the corner to see Chifuyu caught in the aftermath of his prank,

There was no mess to clean up after him,

There was no weird food combinations as his birthday cake

There was no "Happy Birthday, Chifuyu." from him.

Tears slowly rolled off his face. He missed him so much. He missed his friendship with Baji, his company, he missed everything about him.

"Next year, come up with a better prank that I manage to fall for, okay Baji?"
