Work Text:

How the End works in this universe:

Lets start with how Enderman are made. Don’t worry, no smut, as promised somewhere in the wall of tags. The Enderman don’t have a reproductive system at all.

When an Enderman dies, they are tossed into the void. Basically, the void feeds off the dead cells, and when there is some left over, —which doesn’t happen very often— the void brings new life to them and sends it back to the End.

When the new Enderman are spawned, they have a resemblance to that of a five-ish year old child. They just look like an  Enderman, but smaller. These are called Enderlings.

Normally only 1-4 Enderlings spawn at a time, which keeps the Enderman population from crowding the End.

There are also these things called ‘Hauntings’ and there basically Enderman families.

On the rare occasion that Enderlings spawn, the first Haunting to get to the spawn point gets first pick of the Enderlings.

An Enderman Haunting is kind of similar to a wolf pack.

First, there are the Enderlings, the children of the haunting, the next generation.

Next, there are Elders, the ones who are nearest to death, and the ones who watch after the Enderlings.

There are the gatherers, who gather food and teach the what they need to do, and make up the bulk of the haunting.

Then, there’s the Noble. The one who confides with the monarch, and makes the most important decisions for the good of the haunting. The Noble is the most powerful Enderman in the Haunting.

Then, of course, there’s the dragon. The dragon is the one who defends the entire End from outsiders, and the danger they brought.

On top of it all, is the monarch. The one who makes the decisions concerning the future of the End, with help of the council.

The council is made up of all the Nobles from the hauntings.

Now, Enderman are somewhat of a hive mind. They can share thoughts and emotions. They can also send short messages through the hive mind. That’s how they know when new Enderlings have spawned.

This was going to be a story, with plot and stuff, but I lost interest and yeah
