Chapter Text

“Why did you run away from us when we just wanted to protect you?”

Seungcheol looked at the red eyes looking at him intently as if looking to his soul.

“Did you already forget Cheol how much we love you?”

He suddenly felt a presence in his back and he couldn’t even look at the person behind him.

“Do you not love us anymore?”

Suddenly there is a person beside him, that person was so close to him that he could even feel the breath of that person in his face.

“Now we can't allow that, don’t we?”

Seungcheol slowly looks below him and he once again sees red eyes looking at him with a smirk on their face.

“Did you already forget who you belong to?”

There is a person above him and even without looking he could feel the eyes that slowly devouring his soul.

“Are we not enough for you?”

He once again felt another new presence beside him, this time he could feel the breath of this person on his neck, Seungcheol felt that he is so close to being devoured by this new presence. 

“That’s not good Seungcheol, after all we had a hard time on sharing you to us and it would still not be enough?”

A new pair of red eyes is now looking at him with a blank look, other people might not know what this person is thinking but Seungcheol knew. He knows exactly what this person is thinking and that makes him shiver.

“Oh our sweet Seungcheollie, are you scared?”

He heard a sweet voice whispering to him and even without looking he knew the expression the other made, he knew how his dark red eyes are looking at him right now.

“And why would you be scared with us, our dearest?”

The person is smiling at him sweetly but he knows the opposite of what the other is thinking behind those sweet smiles of him.

“Of course he's not scared of us, he loves us after all.”

The other gave him an innocent smile but that just made him more scared than anything.

“Yeah, Choi Seungcheol loves us and we are the only ones he could love. Right, my love?”

He wanted to say something but he felt a hand softly caressing his hair behind him.

“And you only belong to us, we won’t share you with anyone Cheol. You got that our dearest sunshine? ”

Seungcheol wanted to cry but he couldn’t, he was too scared to even shed a tear. Why did he even end up in this situation? He looks to the persons in front of him, twelve pairs of red eyes are looking at him with a sweet smile to their face but he now knows what is behind those smiles. He wouldn’t fool by their facades, but how will he escape them?

“You are our precious lover Seungcheol, and there’s no way we will let you leave us.”

Chapter Text

Like any start of the story it started just an ordinary and normal day for Seungcheol, he woke up then started his morning routine then got off to work. Like any day his work still has the most busy hours during morning especially he works in a coffee shop where the morning is the hours where most people will go to their shop to start their day. Seungcheol like any other day gives his best to give all the orders in the quickest way he can to make sure he wouldn't be the reason why his customers will be late. 

He was greeted with a smile with his regular customer and maybe greeted with irritated expression with new customer but it was nothing new, it just started how it always started not until the new employee broke a glass and because it was Seungcheol his good hearted heart help the man pick up the broken pieces that result to a mild scratch to his finger. 

"I'm so sorry sunbae."

Jisung said to him with a low voice and Seungcheol couldn't help but feel bad for making the younger one down. 

"It's okay, everyone makes mistakes on their first day. I also broke a lot of cups in my first month you know?"

Seungcheol gave his best smile to the younger and Jisung hesitated for a while but in the end the younger smiled at him and that made Seungcheol mood lighter not until a man suddenly burst into their pantry. 

"Choi Seungcheol, where's the blood?"

He couldn't help but roll his eyes to the newly arrived man. 

"It was just a scratch hyung."

The man approached him with worried eyes and immediately checked on him. 

"What do you mean scratch? Did you already forget how rare and precious your blood type is?"

After how hard he made Jisung better now his back to feeling bad all because of Kihyun and he immediately gave the man a glare that made the man realize they were not alone. 

"Good job on making him feel bad again."

Kihyun immediately became pale because of it and started to comfort the young one once again.

"You should still go to the nearest clinic Cheol, we know it is just a simple scratch but we do know how rare your blood type is and how precious it is."

He looked at the door and there he saw Naeun looking at him with worried eyes, he couldn't help but just agree with the woman because he knew better not to deny a concerned mother hen. 

"We are just worried that something bad might happen, you know?"

He just gave a fond smile to Kihyun, he couldn't really blame them, it was also rare for him to get even a scratch which is some miracle since he has a clumsy head.

"Okay, okay. I will go there after I finish my shift, so stop making Jisung feel bad for no reason and let's start working again."

They all agree and after some convincing from Kihyun and Naeun, Jisung felt better again but not after a lot of apology to Seungcheol that he couldn't help but just adore the youngest, they once again continue they're busy morning. 

Since he was a child his family has been overprotective to him, too overprotective if you ask him. He couldn't even go outside not until he was 18 and decided it's time to be independent. Of course his independence is not permitted because he ran away to his home. Don't get him wrong, he knows why they're like that to him, he just knows that they just don't want something bad to happen to him especially bad that involves hospital and blood. He knew once he got into a situation where he needed a blood transfusion or organ donor he would have a hard time because of his rare blood type. After all, he is the only living human who had an I- blood type in the world. 

They said it was an ancient blood that it came all the way to the lost city of troy, some experts say that 58.1% of population of troy had this blood type and during that time it was called the elixir blood it was believe a some of medicine in that time which is for Seungcheol is kinda creepy. Because imagining that they were drinking the blood as some medicine made him shiver. Of course he found all this information in the abandoned book in their house, it has no title and it's cover looks like it saw all the wars in the world. 

His family didn't say anything about the book and when he asked about the book his family just ignored it and change the topic like they always do when the topic doesn't interest them, eventually Seungcheol just drop the topic about it and continue his isolated life, then ran away from it when he finally got all the courage he needed. 

His co-worker that eventually became his friends and second family knew all of it, at first they were hesitant to let Seungcheol free from his family cage but they saw how happy and content the man was with his life now so they just decided to protect the man silently. That is also the reason why they were so worried about Seungcheol's injury (even though you could just call it a scratch and not an injury), it was the first time he got an injury ever since he ran away to his family so of course they would worry. 

After Seungcheol shift they immediately urge him to go to the nearest hospital or even clinic, just to check on him and make sure that there's nothing wrong. Seungcheol couldn't help but just smile with full of fondness to his new found family. He was really lucky that he found good people outside of his cage. 

But maybe he already used all of his luck in this lifetime because he's been feeling like he's being followed since he left the shop and this makes him scared. He might be look like a tough guy but his really a soft hearted guy who easily get scared and right now he's too scared that his sure his so close in crying, he tried to find a place full of people but it looks like the goddess of luck abandoned him today because he couldn't find any people in the area which is weird because it's not that even late and even it's late there's a lot of people in his area. 

Seungcheol decided to just fasten his walk, he just needed to go to the nearest clinic and there he could ask for some help. Yeah, it was a good plan not until his hope just disappeared into the air because right now there's a stranger in front of him looking at him strangely and not only the way he looks is strange, even his appearance is strange. The man in front of him has pale skin, white like a paper. He also looked like he had red eye shadow and if his eyes were not fooling him he could see glowing blue eyes looking straight to his eyes. 

"Do not fret, we wouldn't hurt you. "

Well it doesn't look like that . Seungcheol thought. 

"After all we need every single little thing of you."

See, it doesn't really look like that . Seungcheol closed his eyes and prepared himself for the incoming attack.

"You-"

He heard a struggling voice and the attack he was preparing never happened so he decided to open his eyes once again and there he saw a man standing in front of him, the man looked at him and gave him a gentle smile. 

"You okay there?"

On that day Seungcheol's life changed for a lifetime, he would regret leaving his family cage until the last breath of his life. 

Chapter Text

The man slowly walked to him, Seungcheol couldn’t help but flinch. The man notices and once again smiles at him.

“Don’t worry I won’t hurt you, I just want to help you.”

The man offered a helping hand, Seungcheol hesitated for a while to take the hand in front of him but it didn't look like the man wanted to hurt him so for now he decided to trust the man and took the hand. The man smiled and helped him stand up, when he finally stood up he just noticed there’s no trace of the man earlier.

“Don’t worry, he's gone. No one can hurt you anymore.”

As if reading his mind the man holding his hand told him with still a smile on his face.

“Stop chatting Chan, we need to go before another one comes up.”

Seungcheol immediately looked back and there he saw another man with a blank expression.

“Wait, another? There’s more?”

Seungcheol asked them with an obviously terrified voice, he couldn’t even explain what he was feeling right now. The face of the man earlier was really creepy but that’s not all the aura he was emitting had something that made him suffocate. 

“Yeah, and if we don’t go now they will find us.”

The man with a blank expression told him, the man is now beside him and Seungcheol didn’t even feel the man approached them.

“Don’t scare him Sol .”

The man who had been smiling earlier that Seungcheol thought with the name of Chan said to the other man with a disapproving look. 

“I’m not scaring him, I’m just stating the facts.”

Before Chan could even counter what the other man that Seungcheol thought with the name of Sol, he cut between them.

“Wait, I’m confused. What’s with that guy earlier? If I’m not mistaken his eyes were blue and not just blue it was glowing. Why would they also want me? Did I do something wrong to them? All I wanted to do was go to the nearest clinic then go home, not this.”

Seungcheol was full of confusion, it was supposed to be a normal trip to the clinic, not a trip going on after life. What just happened in the past hours and now someone is targeting him?

“We know that you're confused, but we are not in position to explain it to you.”

Chan told him with an eyes full of concern and gently squeezed his hand as if reassuring him. 

“Don’t worry if we meet our other brothers then we will explain everything to you.”

Sol's eyes is now with emotion but Seungcheol couldn’t explain what the emotion his seeing to the other man.

“Don’t worry, we will protect you.”

“Trust us.”

Sol offered his hand to Seungcheol.

“Can I go back to my place?”

The two looked at each other before looking at him again and shook their heads.

“Can I first see my friends?”

Once again the two just shook their heads, it felt like Seungcheol life just suddenly rotated a whole 360 degrees. It felt like he will leave this life forever, he knows and he couldn’t explain it but there’s something dangerous with the people he saw earlier, he feels that they’re not just normal people but he doesn’t know if he could trust these men in front of him. But they did save him earlier so he took Sol’s hand even with hesitation.

“That’s a good choice Seungcheol .”

He was shocked not because Sol knew his name but the man just suddenly smiled at him.

“Ho-how did you know my name?”

Suddenly there was a car in front of them and he was immediately guided inside of it.

“We will try to answer all of your questions but first we need to run, we can beat all of them but if they have a lot of reinforcement it would just waste all of our energy.”

Chan told him and sat beside him.

“I’m really confused right now so you better answer my question later.”

He felt a hand in his slowly massaging it.

“Don’t worry, we will. For now you should sleep, we will have a long trip to get all the energy you need.”

Seungcheol slowly felt the sleep that he didn't know where it came from, he tried to fight it but slowly his eyes betrayed him and the sleep finally consume him.

“We’re lucky that we immediately found him.”

Lee Chan said with a blank expression while watching the sleeping face of Seungcheol in his lap.

“You killed them so easily, you should let them suffer more.”

Choi Hansol said looking at the window but his hand was still holding and massaging the hand of Seungcheol. 

“You think I want that? He was there, we didn't want to traumatize him at the very first meeting.” 

Chan looked at Hansol with a stern expression, the other man smirked and looked at the man.

“Then I guess we should just take revenge on their other member for scaring our little cherry like that, shall we?

Chan reciprocated the smirk on Hansol's face because of that.

“That’s a plan then.”

The two once again look at the sleeping figure of Seungcheol.

“No one is allowed to harm what’s ours after all.”

Chapter Text

Seungcheol slowly but surely woke up from his long slumber. At first he felt so light as if he just woke up from the longest nightmare he ever had. When he opened his eyes and his surroundings started to register in his mind he couldn't help but stand harshly the reason why he suddenly felt dizzy. 

"Now be careful there, we don't want you getting sick again. " 

He followed the familiar voice he heard and there in front of him was a smiling Chan. 

"Wait, sick, again?" 

He felt a warm hand on his shoulder and when he looked at the owner of the warm hand he saw Sol with another blank expression.

 "After you slept in the car your temperature suddenly rose, that is also the reason why we stopped travelling for a while." 

Now that Sol mentioned it, when Seungcheol looked at their surroundings they were in the middle of nowhere. 

"Good thing your fever is gone, we could rest here for a few days and after that we could continue traveling." 

Sol gently helped Seungcheol sit on one of the rocks with a blanket on it, before he could even ask where the blanket came from Sol already answered him. 

"We got it in the car, you need to keep warm and I think making you sit in a cold rock will not help your recovery." 

Seungcheol tried to see the expression of Sol but before he could even see it the man's back was already facing him. 

"Don't worry about him, he's just awkward at first."

 He flinches when Chan is suddenly beside him and offering a cup of soup. 

"Sorry for startling you, but you need to eat so you can take your medicine."

 The man once again gently smiles at him before following Sol in the opposite of the bonfire. Seungcheol looked at the soup, even without knowledge of cooking he could distinguish that the soup has just two ingredients. Milk and Meat, when he tried the soup it warmed his body and when he finally tasted the meat it was the first time he ever ate a tasty meat like this. When Seungcheol got a chance he would remember to ask what kind of meat they used.

"Thank you." 

Seungcheol softly said to them, it almost missed the two if it's not because it was Seungcheol's voice. 

"Don't worry about it." 

Chan once again smiled at him and Seungcheol finally returned the smile to the guy that the others were shocked by. 

"It must be hard not to know the name of your companion so let me introduce myself." 

Sol cut the whatever atmosphere starting between the two that Chan couldn't help but gave the other man a glare. 

"Don't glare at me, we need to properly introduce yourself, before you flirt there." 

Seungcheol couldn't hear the last part but he was sure that it was something embarrassing so he decided not to pry about it anymore. Technically Seungcheol already had a clue on the name of the two but it doesn't hurt to let them introduce each other properly. Although the two look like they know a lot about Seungcheol even with him saying anything. 

"My name is Lee Chan, I am the youngest of the clan, I'm close with everyone but Seungkwan and I fight more often." 

Chan, full of energy of introduction, Seungcheol wanted to ask about the clan and Seungkwan but before he could Sol cut him again. 

"Choi Hansol."

 Seungcheol and Chan waited for the continuation but it looks like Hansol doesn't have any plan to say anything.

 "Hey, you said 'let us introduce ourselves properly' and that's all you're gonna say?" 

Chan suddenly burst and started acting like a kid throwing a tantrum to Hansol. 

"I did say that it was also a proper introduction." 

While on the other hand Hansol looks so done with other men, it looks like this is nothing new for him. 

"You call it proper? You just said your name, you didn't even say anything about yourself." 

"He doesn't need to know unnecessary information." 

"It is necessary, you're the only one who thinks it is not." 

"Stop pushing your ideals to me." 

"Then stop acting like some mysterious mature man when you're not even close with that." 

"What did you say?" 

"What you want to fi-" 

The bickering of the two suddenly stopped when they heard a giggle and when they looked for the source of it there they saw Choi Seungcheol trying his best not to laugh. 

"You could laugh, you know?  You might die from stopping yourself." 

With that the man finally broke into laughter, the two couldn't help but just enjoy the scene in front of them. 

"Sorry, this just makes me feel light after just what happened." 

Seungcheol said when he finally finished laughing, he looked at the two and asked the question he had been wanting to ask. 

"Will you please explain to me now what is happening? "

The two once again look at each other as if communicating through their mind and when the two finally meet an agreement Hansol is the one who started talking. 

"Those people that tried to attack you, they're not ordinary people." 

Seungcheol wanted to say that it was obvious just seeing the appearance of the man but Chan continued what Hansol was trying to say. 

"They're human but at the same time they're not." 

Okay, that doesn't explain anything. 

"We wish we could tell you more but our elder brothers knew more than we knew." 

Seungcheol once again flinched because once again he didn't even feel Hansol approaching him, the man was now seated beside him. 

"Then when will I be able to meet these elder brothers? You didn't even explain to me why they would attack me." 

Seungcheol wants an answer, but it looks like it will be a long and hard journey before he can get it. 

"Time will only know, for now rest. You're not yet healed."

Like what happened in the car Seungcheol felt the sleep gently embracing him, which is weird especially because he just woke up from a long slumber but Seungcheol didn't have any time to think for more because once again sleep won in getting his consciousness. 

"Can we just walk on a proper road?" 

Seungcheol finally voices out what he's been feeling since earlier, they're still in the middle of nowhere. Once Seungcheol's fever is gone the three of them decide to walk to the forest because apparently their other brothers are in the middle of it. They've been walking, no rather they’ve been hiking and it's full of small rocks, there's no issue with there if it's not because of Seungcheol's clumsiness and maybe for being afraid of getting hurt like he's always been afraid of. 

"Sorry, but we still need to walk farther to find a proper road."

Chan gave him an apologetic smile and Seungcheol couldn't help but be weakened by the other, it is so unfair that a simple smile of the man and Seungcheol's resolve will crumble into pieces. 

"Nice Chan, you finally discover what you are good at. " 

Hansol said before walking past them, Seungcheol couldn't help but wonder what that was supposed to mean. 

"Don't worry about him, I've known him since forever but I still don't understand him. Only Seungkwan can read him like a book." 

Seungcheol raised a questioning brow because of the familiar name, it was also the name Chan mentioned. 

"This is the second time I heard that name." 

Chan gave him another smile and Seungcheol is now starting to wonder if these guys even know how not to smile. 

"Don't worry, you'll meet him soon. But you should give your full attention to us for now or we will get jealous of Seungkwan." 

And how could he say that with just a straight face? Chan is really a big mystery for Seungcheol that he is sure will take him longer to solve.

"So are the two of you the youngest in your sibling?"

 Seungcheol tried to change the topic to hide his fluster but it was too late because Chan already saw his reddening face, the man just pretended not to see it. 

"Yes, but I am the youngest. That's why I think my eldest brothers didn't trust me that much because of it." 

It was the first time Seungcheol saw a real emotion on Chan's face. It was almost vulnerable if it was not because Chan's expression suddenly changed into the usual smiling face. 

"I think that's not the reason you know?" 

Chan looked at him and this time it was Seungcheol's turn to make the other man feel better. 

"Like you said you are the youngest, so of course they will want to protect you. It's not that they did not trust you, they just want better for you."

 But it looks like the younger didn't feel any better than earlier because now Seungcheol could see a sulky look to the other man. 

"I don't want to be protected, and I want them to stop treating me like a child. I'm a full adult now, you know?" 

Seungcheol couldn't help but chuckle with it and the other man just gave him a glare but he just chose not to pay attention to it. 

"I know what your feeling now Chan but they're the older one so of course it's already in their nature to want to protect and of course you will always be a child in their eyes. It's a curse that will never be lifted. " 

Seungcheol said with a full teasing and Chan pout just got bigger and the man couldn't help but adore the other man. 

"Oh how I wish we had another younger brother so they will stop babying me, especially our first born. They sometimes get on my nerves, if they're not just older to me I already fight them." 

Seungcheol couldn't help but laugh with that. 

"Hey don't laugh, I'm being serious here."

 If Seungcheol did not think that Chan could be cuter then he should start to think of it. 

"Ye-yeah, I'm sorry." 

Seungcheol tried to stop his laugh but when he saw Chan's sulking face he laughed louder because of how cute to tease the other. 

"Stop laughing with my misery." 

Seungcheol already forgot when was the last time he had fun talking like this, maybe having this kind of conversation once in a while is not that bad. 

"Idiots." 

Hansol whispered but Chan and Seungcheol still heard it. 

"HEY!" 

The two shouted and the three of them just continued teasing each other while continuing their hike.

"No means no, Choi Hansol."

 Seungcheol said in a voice full of authority. 

"Your overreacting, I could manage you know? You don't need to act like that." 

Once again Hansol tries to stand up but once again Seungcheol stops him from his attempt. 

"Your sick, my hand almost burn from touching your head you know? You need to rest." 

Seungcheol once again tried to convince the man but it seems that he is talking to the king of stubbornness because Hansol is not even pretending to listen to him. 

"I could still manage, we need to get out here and meet my elder brother. That's also what you wanted, right?" 

Now it's Hansol's turn to convince the man. 

"Yeah, but you still need to get better first. I could still continue this journey, but I will not continue this knowing you're pushing yourself." 

But it seems that Seungcheol is just another stubborn man. 

"Chan help me convince him, stop watching there." 

Hansol look at Chan who just watching the whole scene as if it doesn't concern him, which is half true. Hansol felt a warm hand on his face and suddenly he was pushed to look at Seungcheol and now the two are looking into each other's eyes. 

"Please Hansol, I don't how it works in your family but your allowed to feel weak and rest. Please, for me? " 

And Hansol knew he will be stupid if he once again reject the man so he took a breath and weakily said 'okay', Hansol voice was so low and Seungcheol almost missed it if there face is not just centimeters away to each other. 

"That's the good boy." 

Seungcheol smiled triumphantly while you could see a red in the tip of Hansol's ear, Chan just shook his head fondly to two. 

"Really idiots."

They were just walking in the forest peacefully and even teasing each other so how come it ended up this way?

“HANSOL, CHAN!” 

Seungcheol couldn’t help but shout the name of the two, they’re being surrounded by people with pale skin and blue eyes. Hansol is still weak from being sick just three days ago and Chan is struggling because of something injected to him with an earlier man.

“RUN!”

Hansol's shout echoed through the whole forest and Seungcheol couldn’t help but flinch with that.

“But-”

Before Seungcheol could even protest Chan already cut whatever reason he will try to say.

“Just run, our brothers are waiting for you in the middle of the forest. We will now allow any of these bastards to follow you.”

Seungcheol shook his head, no he couldn’t just run and leave these two who is obviously struggling with the enemy.

“Choi Seungcheol, do you have this little faith in us?”

He looked at Hansol who was sweating, and Seungcheol did not know if it’s because of the fever or something.

“Run, we will follow you, don't worry, We will not die just because of these weaklings.”

Hansol gave him a smile for the first time since the two meet each other and that made Seungcheol more nervous than assurance.

“We need to fight them seriously and we couldn’t do that knowing you are a scaredy cat watching us.”

Seungcheol looks at Chan who is smiling like he always does.

“So run, Seungcheol.” 

Seungcheol looks at the two before finally making a decision, he needs to find the other sibling to help these two. Knowing him, he will just be a burden to these guys.

“Wait for me here, I will call for help so you better be alive when I come back.”

He gave them one final look before he started to run, he saw in his peripheral vision that one the guys tried to follow him but true to their words Hansol and Chan did not allow the other man. Seungcheol just ran and ran with full of hope and worry for the other two that he didn’t even notice that he was near to the cliff and when he finally noticed it. It was too late to stop, he will die and he will not even help the other two who save his life. He closed his ready to impact when he felt a strong arms holding his waist. When he opened his eyes he saw a dazzling smile directed to him.

“Now be careful there, we don’t want you to die.”

Chapter Text

Seungcheol immediately gets away from the man, he doesn't know the man but it looks like the man who is smiling in front of him knows him. Once again Seungcheol felt the familiar feeling, when he thought when was the last time he felt that, there's two people who came to his mind. 

"Don't worry about Chan and Hansol, they are safe now."

Seungcheol immediately looked at the source of the new voice and there he saw another man who looked like it was a bother by coming there. But Seungcheol doesn't have time for that because he immediately turns his attention to the names of Chan and Hansol. 

"Where are they now?"

He asked the two men and the man who saved him earlier gave him a smile before answering his question. 

"They are home now, so you don't need to worry they are in a safe place."

Seungcheol furrowed with confusion, how come those two immediately got home when they said it was still far from their home? The man who saved him noticed his confusion and immediately answered his question. 

"My elder brothers fetch them, that's why they immediately got home."

That doesn't explain a thing, why is this family full of mystery? 

"We need to go now hyung, I'm sure Chan is throwing a tantrum now because Seungcheol was taken from them."

He wanted to correct the other man that his is no taken from anyone but before he could the man who save him offered a helping hand, Seungcheol at first hesitated but then he remembered when he trust Chan and Hansol it was not a bad decision so once again he decide to trust the new companion. 

"Let's go, we need to get home now the enemy is lurking around."

The man who is currently holding his hand squeezes his hand as if to reassure him from something.

"Don't worry we're here, we'll protect you."

The man once again smiles at him before they once again start their journey. 

"The name is Lee Seokmin and that guy who is sulking there is Boo Seungkwan."

The man who saved him earlier introduces himself to Seungcheol; they take a break for now that they are sure that no one is following them. 

"I am not sulking hyung, don't give him false information."

The man named Seungkwan tried to defend himself but it didn't work because he did look like he was sulking. 

"Yeah right, said the man who has been pouting since earlier."

Seokmin teased the man and Seungkwan just gave him a glare but it looks like it didn't work on Seokmin and Seungcheol could see why, Seungkwan glare is indeed cuter than supposed to be scary. 

"I am not pouting so stop saying nonsense."

Seungkwan tried to defend himself but Seokmin just shrugged him off. 

"Yeah, yeah, I know you're mad because I beat you from saving Seungcheol earlier."

Seokmin suddenly gave Seungkwan a teasing smirk and Seungcheol had to turn away from that look because how come the cute little puppy earlier could look so hot with just a smirk? 

"Oh stop lying hyung you pushed me away earlier."

Seungcheol once again looked at the two when he heard that, push? What are they children? 

"I don't know what you are talking about, maybe you are just so clumsy being tripped by nothing and then blaming innocent people like me."

Seokmin acted like a victim while Seungkwan's nose flared with anger and before a fight broke Seungcheol interrupted the two. 

"How come you guys know me?"

Seungcheol asked the question that should have been asked since the start, but he was hoping that it was only Chan and Hansol who knew him and the guys would explain it to him. But it looks like it was not only the two, maybe all of the brothers knew him . Seungcheol doesn't have any recollection meeting any of them, so how come these four guys know him when this was supposed to be their first meeting? 

"We know you, but you don't know us."

Seungcheol raised a questioning brow because of the vague explanation of Seungkwan. 

"We already met each other but you don't have any memories of that meeting."

Seungcheol looks at Seokmin who is once again smiling at him. 

"And why?"

Seungcheol was flustered on how low his voice was, it was as if he was asking for some forbidden information. He didn't even know why he suddenly lost his strength to his voice. 

"We are not holding the answer to that question, it would be best if you will meet our eldest brother. He holds all of the answers to your question."

Seungkwan is looking at him with some unknown emotion in his eyes, Seungcheol couldn't even decipher what it is. 

"We only hold so little information to give you, but surely our eldest brother will answer all of your questions someday."

Seungcheol felt creepy out of nowhere, Seokmin was indeed smiling but there's some unknown emotion in his eyes. He suddenly flinches when someone just suddenly claps. 

"Now enough of the serious talk and let's start eating."

Seokmin gave him a cup and the smell of spice was the first one  that attacked him. When he looks at it, it has a green sauce and there's a lot of meat, carrots and potatoes. He took a sip of the sauce, the warm taste of spice with a little bit of spiciness. Seungcheol smiled when he finally tasted the curry. He took a bit to the meat and like everything he ate during his trip with Chan and Hansol it has a savory and unique flavor. 

"Glad you like it, it was my personal recipe."

Seungcheol looked at Seokmin who was smiling at him, he immediately gave back the smile that he received. 

"It is really delicious, thankyou."

Seokmin was flustered by Seungcheol's smile but it immediately disappeared when he heard a sulking voice. 

"It must be nice, getting a compliment."

The two look at the source of the voice and there they see a sulking Seungkwan giving Seokmin an envy glare. 

"I did help you cook there hyung, just let me remind you."

Seokmin just shook his head fondly to the younger one. 

"Yeah, yeah. Thank you my most talented brother, for helping this low brother of yours."

Seungkwan just rolled his eyes to Seokmin. 

"I want to hear compliments from Seungcheol, not you."

Seungkwan turns his head to Seungcheol who is just watching the whole scene, the guy immediately looks like an eager puppy that wants some treats. 

"I help cut those vegetables."

Seungkwan proudly proclaims to Seungcheol and he just looks at the vegetables in his cup again. He looked again to Seungkwan and gave the guy a smile. 

"It is delicious and perfectly cut."

Seungkwan immediately brightened by that simple statement and Seokmin just shook his head. 

"Oh it was really nothing, I could teach you if you want."

Seungkwan proudly proclaims and Seungcheol couldn't help but giggle at the guy, he thought at first that Seungkwan is just as stoic as Hansol but it looks like Seungkwan and Seokmin personality is not different from each other. 

"And if Seungcheol hurt himself then it would be your fault."

Seokmin said at the side, already full of concern.

"Oh don't worry hyung I will do all the hard work, Seungcheol will just watch me on the side."

Seungkwan said with a face full of smiles and Seokmin just facepalm. In the end Seungkwan just wanted to look good in front of Seungcheol and the guy just couldn't help but feel better with his new friends. Maybe he is really born in the lucky stars to meet all of these good people that are also willing to protect him, but they still won't tell him what or why unknown people want to attack him. Seungcheol just hoped that someday the truth would find its way to him. 

"Oh come on hyung just tell him the truth you really did cry at that time."

"Don't put the blame on the other people, you are the one who cried at that time."

"Or maybe it's the two of you who cried at that time."

"NO! WE'RE NOT!"

Seungcheol couldn't help but laugh at Seokmin and Seungkwan antics, they're still travelling but this time the two said that they're close to their home and it will only take a 5 hours of walking to get there. To make the time faster they decide to talk about something in the past that Seungkwan suggested it was supposed to make Seungcheol more familiar to them. It started with minor stories until the topic when they were still kids and the two of them decided to leave their home without their brothers knowing. Apparently they were in the woods until sun was nowhere to be seen and that just made their older brothers worried. What worsened the situation was that their brother's couldn't find the two of them anywhere, they're brothers just found them when they came back to their home and there they saw the two laughing and telling each other what they saw outside. But that joy was suddenly interrupted when they're eldest brother suddenly shouted. When they looked at the source of the voice they saw the angry faces of their brothers and that's how the crying situation came up, the two both accusing each other who cried on that day. But if Seungcheol will guess it's probably the two of them. 

"I think you're misinterpreting something, I would never cry for something like that."

Seokmin said with an expression full of seriousness.

"Me too, I would just feel guilty but I will not cry."

Seungkwan said with full of smugness, based on what's happening this topic will never end if no one will confess to crying on that day which is funny because it was all in the past now but it looks like the two haven't moved on in that said past. Seungcheol suddenly thought about something but this might not work but it doesn't hurt trying, right? 

"That's too bad, I plan on spoiling the one who cried on that day but I guess the two of you didn't really cry huh?"

Seungcheol started to act disappointed and when he took a peek at the two there was suddenly a change in the atmosphere. Seungcheol almost thought it was not working, almost. 

"Then that changed everything, okay I confess it was me."

Seokmin said with full seriousness as if he didn't just deny the accusation earlier.

"Hey don't lie hyung, it was the two of us."

Seungkwan suddenly protested and it just made Seungcheol giggle, turns out it was indeed the both of them. 

"If I didn't take extreme measures you won't even confess huh?"

Again there's a sudden change to the atmosphere but this time it felt to Seungcheol something serious so he immediately stopped his teasing. 

"Because we thought it would turn you off if you find out the truth."

There's something in Seokmin's voice that Seungcheol couldn't distinguish.

"We are raised in strict surroundings, wherever we make trouble or do something wrong our eldest brother will take the punishment for us."

Seungcheol looked at Seungkwan who was smiling sadly to him and it broke Seungcheol's heart. 

"We don't want to burden any of our brothers so we always play the mature role. Even one of our elder brothers who has the same personality as us would always hide his true emotion just not to be noticed by our superior."

Now it was the first time Seungcheol heard about these superiors, he will always hear the 'elder brothers' or the 'eldest brother' but never about the superior. 

"But it feels like we could be true to ourselves when it comes to you."

Seungcheol's heart suddenly felt full by what Seungkwan said. He looked at the two and they were smiling genuinely to him and he couldn't help but just hug the two. He felt the two flinch on his hold but he couldn't blame the two for being surprised by his sudden action. 

"Don't worry you could be true to yourself in front of me and I wouldn't judge you."

Seungcheol felt that they reciprocated the hug. 

"You won't leave us?'

Seokmin's voice was so little that once again Seungcheol's heart broke. He doesn't know anything about these people but it feels like they are children in the adult body. Seungcheol broke the hug and he could see the disappointment in Seungkwan and Seokmin face but it was needed so the two of them could see how serious he is. 

"I will never leave you, it's a promise."

Seungcheol smiled at the two of them and when he looked at the expression of the two he knew he made the right decision. The two were smiling so happily that they're eyes disappeared because of how wide their smiles were. 

"Then we promise to never leave you too."

Both of them said at the same time and Seungcheol couldn't be happier with his new friends. But deep inside of him there's telling him that what he did earlier will be one of his greatest mistakes.

They are now standing in a medieval house that looks like it has been standing there since the medieval period. It awed Seungcheol how ancient the house looked. There's a lot of leaves outside of it that will usually make the house look like some abandoned house in a horror movie but the house in front of him makes it look like one of the decorations. 

"Welcome to our home."

He looked at Seokmin and Seungkwan who were smiling proudly at him, he wanted to ask the two how come there's a beautiful house standing in the middle of forest, in the middle of nowhere. 

"Oh hello there."

But before he could even ask the door open and there he saw another new friend that was one of the reasons for the changes of his life. 

Chapter Text

“Once again let us welcome you to our home.”

Seungcheol and Mingyu are currently walking in the long hallway, after they arrive in their house Seungkwan and Seokmin immediately leave for some reason they didn’t mention to Seungcheol. While he was looking for Chan and Hansol, the guy who greeted them in the doorway introduced himself to him as Kim Mingyu, apparently one of the brothers. Seungcheol was left with a big guy which was making him nervous, when he asked where Hansol and Chan were, the guy just avoided the topic and just started walking which left Seungcheol no other choice and just followed the guy.

“Thank you for welcoming me here in your house, but can I ask where Seungkwan and Seokmin went?”

Mingyu suddenly stopped walking, which made Seungcheol also stop, once again he could feel his heart rate beating faster. Mingyu looked at him and smiled, that just made him more nervous than before. He doesn't know if he's scared of Mingyu because of his height or maybe for some other reason that he couldn’t explain, for now perhaps.

“I’m glad to see you that you became close to them, enough to worry about them. But don’t worry about my brothers, they just went and met our eldest brother.”

  Seungcheol wanted to ask where his eldest brother was but before he could, he heard a voice behind him.

“For now you should maybe take a tour to our home, which will be your home too. ”

Seungcheol was surprised he immediately backed away and looked at the source of the voice, there he saw another man who was looking at him blankly.

“Hao, don’t scare him like that.”

Mingyu scolded the new guy and he just ignored it.

“I didn’t scare him, he was just startled and if any of us are scaring him then it would be you.”

“That’s not true, I didn’t do anything to make him scared.”

“It’s not because of what you do, it's because of how scary you look are.”

Mingyu then looks at Seungcheol and now he really wants to talk to the new guy to stop saying the facts because it looks like it just made him in a worse spot.

“Is that true?”

Now that just made Seungcheol feel bad because now Mingyu is looking at him like a kick puppy and it felt like it was his fault.

“Don’t make him feel guilty with your big puppy eyes, also it doesn’t suit.” 

The new guy commented but Mingyu just ignored him and just waited for his response, Seungcheol uncertainty smiled at him.

“Sorry you're kinda scary when you were just silently walking earlier and you also ignored my question earlier so I can’t help it.”

Seungcheol wanted to add that he was also scared of the new guy because of his sudden appearance and his even so close to him that just left Seungcheol wondering how come he didn’t notice the guy much earlier. 

“See, I told you, you are scary.”

“Oh shut up Xu Minghao you also scared him earlier don’t just deny and change the topic.”

If Mingyu had just ears of a dog, Seungcheol could almost see it down because of his face but maybe he should thank the guy for saying the full name of the new guy because now he had a name to call the other guy.

“And thank you for introducing me to him, now you left me no other work.”

Minghao said full of sarcasm and Mingyu just teasingly put out his tongue to the guy.

“Serves you right.”

Minghao just rolled his eyes to Mingyu and once again looked at Seungcheol.

“Let me introduce myself in a much proper way, I am one of the brothers. My name is Xu Minghao.”

Seungcheol wanted to ask if they are really siblings because of their last name and also of their looks, it doesn’t look like they are all siblings at all. Seungcheol thought that maybe if he saw the other brothers he would meet someone that looked like the others he met but now it looks like that wouldn’t be the case at all, but it felt like his stepping in other business so Seungcheol decided not to ask anything about that.

“Nice to meet you, I am Choi Seungcheol but I think you already know me based on what I observe from your other brothers.”

Mingyu and Minghao just smile at him, but it looks like there was something with their smile. Seungcheol wanted to ask how they knew him but before that there was a very first question he needed to ask.

“Can you explain to me now who those people are?”

The two looked at each other as if communicating with their looks and Seungcheol waited for their ‘little meeting’ to finish, once the two finally finished their ‘little meeting’ they once again looked at Seungcheol and smiled at him.

“We will tell you what we know, but before that maybe you could take a shower first and eat. You look like a stray person that hasn’t been eating for the past few days.”

Minghao said to him and that just made Seungcheol look at his appearance and true to his words he looked really a stray person, that made him embarrassed.

“Hao, stop making him embarrassed.”

Mingyu said with a warning tone that once again was ignored by the other man, Mingyu looked at him and smiled at him.

“Don’t worry about him, he has a really sharp tongue but he didn’t mean any harm. Also we are here now in your room so you could take your time and we will come back here once you are finished.”  

Before Seungcheol could ask how they would know once he finished the two left him in front of a large door, he didn’t even have a chance to stop the two from leaving because of how fast they left. It feels like they just teleported but he was sure that he watched the two walk, Seungcheol just shook his head. He will ask them later everything that has been bugging him, he opens the large door and there he sees a marvelous room that he only saw in a movie. He took a sigh, there’s a lot that has been bugging him and it feels like his brain is so close to having an error. He decides to just let it be and maybe get some rest first before he starts wondering about a lot of unexplained things. 

Once he finally put his clothes on he heard a knock on his door. When he opened the door there he saw Mingyu who was smiling at him and Minghao who had a blank smile. 

"Let's go eat, we cook some simple breakfast for you."

Mingyu happily said to him. 

"Did you perhaps wait outside the whole time?"

Seungcheol asked the two, it was too much for coincidence. It was as if they'd been watching him and knew what was the perfect timing to fetch him. 

"You saw us leave earlier, so what are you talking about?"

Minghao did not answer him at all but instead just threw another question to him.

"But you are just in a perfect timing to fetch me, and earlier what's with that? Suddenly you're far away from me before I could even speak."

The two men look at each other before they start laughing that it startled Seungcheol. 

"Are you sure what you are seeing?"

Before Seungcheol could confirm that yes he was sure of what he was seeing, Minghao interrupted him. 

"Are you sure you're not hallucinating because of exhaustion?"

That made Seungcheol stop, he was indeed exhausted earlier, from lack of sleep and the long journey going there. 

"Also it's just a really perfect coincidence we arrive at a perfect time, maybe you're hungry that's why you're starting to imagine things."

And like his stomach wants to confirm what Mingyu said it made known that it has been neglected. Seungcheol couldn't help but blush from embarrassment while Minghao and Mingyu just smiled at him. 

"Let's go to the dining room so you can start to fill that empty stomach."

Mingyu and Minghao start walking and Seungcheol just follows the two, this house was a really big house that it is almost wrong to call it a house and instead it should be called a mansion. When they arrived at the dining room, what welcomed him there was a long empty table that was full of different foods. 

"We don't know what to cook so there, we cook anything we could think of." 

Seungcheol looked at Mingyu who was smiling proudly at him. 

"You don't have to."

He felt a warm hand on his head and when he looked at the owner of it he saw Minghao who for the first time he sees smiling sincerely at him. 

"We have to, you had a long and exhausting journey. Your life suddenly changes upside down, this is the only way we could think of making you feel better."

Seungcheol felt the sincerity in his voice and he almost cried but he immediately stopped it, he didn't want to ruin this moment. 

"Now shall we start the feast?"

Seungcheol nodded eagerly and the two men just couldn't help but adore the man. There's a lot of different food on the table and Seungcheol couldn't even decide what to eat first but in the end he grabbed a piece of bread and meat for starters. 

"Don't hesitate to eat anything on the table, all of it was for you after all."

Seungcheol could feel his ear hotter because of Minghao's statement but before he grabs a bite of the food he decides to ask a question that should've been asked before he grabs a food if it's not because he's hungry. 

"Are we the only one eating? Where are your other brothers? Where are Chan, Hansol, Seungkwan and Seokmin? "

Mingyu smiled at him before answering his question. 

"I'm glad that you became close with my brothers for a short amount of time, but sadly they will not be able to join us for breakfast."

"They are currently busy with some family business, but don't worry they will soon join us after they're done."

Seungcheol looks at Minghao who elegantly holds his glass of wine, Seungcheol will never think that Minghao is the kind of person that will drink wine so early in the morning. 

"Enough of chatting let's start digging our food, shall we?"

With Mingyu's signal they start eating and Seungcheol couldn't help but once again be amazed by the food in his mouth. The bread was so soft that it almost felt like cotton candy, the meat was so juicy and tender. 

"This is so delicious."

Seungcheol smiled at Mingyu and Minghao.

"You heard him Gyu, it was a success."

Minghao teasingly said to Mingyu who is red as a tomato. 

"Did you also bake this bread?"

Seungcheol asked the big tomato in front of him and the man just nodded, afraid that his voice would betray him. 

"Wow, you are such an amazing chef Mingyu."

If they thought that Mingyu's face was red earlier, now it has become redder.

"Easy there Seungcheol, have mercy on the big guy."

Minghao who has his teasing smirk on Mingyu while the man just glares at him. 

"Oh come on Hao, you would be like this too if you get a compliment from Seungcheol also why don't you tell him that you are the one who sewed the clothes he is currently wearing."

Seungcheol immediately look at Minghao who just avoided his eyes, the silk of the clothes was so soft and it fitted perfectly to him that he plan to ask them where did they buy these fantastic clothes but knowing that Minghao was the one who sewed this clothes was a great surprise for Seungcheol. 

"Wow, you're such an amazing person, Minghao. I really love these clothes that I was planning to ask you later where you bought them, these are really great clothes. Thank you."

Seungcheol thanked Minghao with a wide smile, he was really surprised how amazing these people are, that he couldn't help but compliment them. 

"Easy there Seungcheol, you will give us a heart attack with that beautiful smile."

Seungcheol's smile suddenly disappeared and changed into flustered, he looked at Mingyu who was currently smirking at him. 

"That's right, you should know that you should take responsibility for your actions, right?"

When he looks at Minghao who was avoiding his eyes earlier, he has now a wide smirk at him. 

"What do you mean? I am a responsible adult, I always take responsibility for any action I do okay?"

Right as soon as he finished what he said the regret suddenly flung at him. When he looked at the two they had a smile that looked like hiding something behind it. 

"We should see that in the future."

"Now let's continue eating."

And like that they once again start eating but Seungcheol was in a middle of confusion with all emotion he just felt in a short amount of time, he felt like since he met these brothers he's always flooding with all different kinds of emotion. 

Once they finish eating the two guide him to their house and like he expected the house was really marvelous, they stop at one of the doors and when Mingyu opens it, what welcomes him is a room full of different kinds of books.

"Now, let's answer your question about those people following you."

Seungcheol looked at Minghao who was walking behind him, and the man walked in front of him. 

"Like what Chan and Hansol told you, they're human but at the same time they're not."

Minghao started, he stopped on one of the shelves.

"They were once a full blooded human, but now they have a mixed blood of something immortal. Something dangerous."

He looked behind him to see Mingyu leaning on one of the shelves. 

"It was exactly a hundred years ago, there was a man who wanted to give birth to another species in this world."

"He wanted to have a human species who have an immortal life who also have a power that could change the world."

"It was the start of his experiment. He used many humans, some of them died during the experiment."

"Some of them are like those people who are following you, they are the failed ones. They live a long life but that is a life full of suffering."

Minghao and Mingyu suddenly stop explaining, they look at Seungcheol as if they are letting him prepare on what the next one they will say.

"There was no cure for them but there was a method that let them ease the pain they were feeling."

"It was to drink human blood. One of the failed experiments found out that if they drink human blood the feeling of being burned in fire is gone. It's the only way to ease their pain, especially since they don't have full human blood; they need human blood to properly function."

"They once tried a blood transfusion but they're body rejected and the one who had a blood transfusion died on the spot, when they drank the blood nothing happened to them. The human blood became their water that eases their thirst. "

"But it was not enough, they wanted more so they looked and looked for a human blood that will fully cure them. They were called vampires, and that is the reason behind the legend of the blood drinking vampires. They also have a high sense of smell, it's also one of the side effects of the experiments."

Now it makes sense to Seungcheol, why those people suddenly appear in front of him on the day he got a cut, why they are following him.

"They thought if they drink my blood they will be cured."

Seungcheol whispered to himself but since the library was empty, the two men still heard him. 

"They found out the blood type of I- which is an ancient blood type was called an elixir blood which is to believe as some kind of medicine, but unfortunately when they found out there was no one with that blood type anymore."

"But they smell your blood, it was a new fragrance for their nose that is why they knew that this blood is not the same blood they have been drinking."

This explains why those people persist in following him, how could they even believe in the ancient story? But at the same time Seungcheol couldn't really blame them especially if all these years they have been drinking human blood and it helped them. Then it would not surprise him anymore that they would also believe that some ancient blood will cure them. 

"They were trying to survive, but that's not justify what they were doing."

Seungcheol looked at the two who had been observing him and waiting for his reaction. 

"What happened to those people? The source of blood that they have been drinking?"

Seungcheol asked and Mingyu immediately looked away while Minghao just looked at him blankly. 

"They all died of blood loss."

Then if they also got a hold of Seungcheol he would also be one of those victims, this is insane. He doesn't know what to feel, if he is supposed to be scared or mad. He doesn't know who to blame, he knew that he was supposed to blame those people who had been drinking human blood but they were also victims by some inhuman experiment. 

He should blame the man who was behind all of this but is that man even still alive? Based on the story of Mingyu and Minghao it looks like it happened a long time ago, he doesn't even know who to blame for having this kind of special blood type that now is making his life dangerous. 

"Don't worry Seungcheol, we will protect you."

He looks at Minghao who is smiling warmly at him, Minghao is holding his hand and the warmth of his hand made Seungcheol much better than earlier. 

"We will be here for you always."

Seungcheol suddenly felt his tears suddenly flowing, Mingyu was hugging him and for the first time since his encounter with those 'vampires' he remembered how his life changed for a long time. Ever since he left he is trying to distract himself and convince that everything will be back to normal again. But now it sunk to him that his life will never be normal once again, he cried with the warmth of Mingyu and Minghao at his side. 

The two left him so he could be alone for a while and he thanked the two for thinking about his feelings. He starts wandering around the large library but what piques his interest is one the shelves that have a small door below. When he reached the door he felt a slight electricity touching the knob and when he finally opened it the one he saw was a picture frame. 

"Wait, what?"

He almost dropped the picture frame on what he saw. In the picture he saw Chan, Hansol, Seungkwan, Seokmin, Minghao, Mingyu and other unfamiliar faces. But what surprises him is the couple who are holding a baby in their arms, the man and woman in the picture are none other than his grandparents. They saw a lot of pictures of his grandparents when they were younger and he was sure that these were his grandparents, but why? 

"Do you know that curiosity killed the cat?"

He looked at the source of the voice and there he saw a man who was looking at him with a blank expression. 

"What should we do now?"

He looked behind him and he saw another man who also had a blank expression. 

"What should we do indeed?"

Chapter Text

Being scared is too shallow to explain what his feeling right now, Seungcheol was terrorized. He was shocked to see the picture frame. Then these two new arrivals of the two men that are looking at him with blank expressions that made him more scared. One of the men approached him and Seungcheol couldn’t even back away, he was too scared to even move an inch. The man slowly caressed his face and that just made him more scared than earlier.

“Now wipe that terrified expression of yours, it doesn’t suit you.”

The man looked at him in his eyes as if looking at his soul.

“We know that you are scared and confused right now, but this is not a better place to talk.”

The man who was standing gave him one last look before looking away and starting walking while the man who was caressing his face stood up and was about to follow the man.

“You're hiding something from me.” 

The two men immediately halt, Seungcheol was surprised to himself for suddenly having the courage to talk and to say it directly to them on what he had been suspecting. The man who was caressing his face once again looked at him.

“Then why don’t you follow us so you could learn what we’ve been hiding from you?”

The man who first started to leave looked at the other man with a disappointed look.

“Jihoon.”

The man said with a warning tone.

“How could I even trust you when all you do is hide something from me.” 

The man who is called Jihoon suddenly smirks at him.

“Then why don’t you us trust one last time?”

Seungcheol wants to run from here, but he's not even safe outside of this place but he's not also sure if he's safe in this place.

“We understand what you were coming from, but we will tell you the truth now, so for now follow us, we want to show you something before we tell you the truth.”

The other man who's Seungcheol did not yet know the name said to him before once again walking away, Jihoon offered his hand to help him stand up.

“Now, what will your choice be Choi Seungcheol?”

Seungcheol's gut feeling told him that he should run now that he has a chance but like this Jihoon guy told him, he would trust them one last time . If after this they would not still tell him the whole truth then that would be the end of the line, hopefully he could still run when that time happened. Seungcheol accepts the helping hand in front of him, Jihoon helps him stand up and when he looks at him, he once again has the blank expression on his face.

“Make sure not to regret your decision.” 

That’s what Jihoon told him before he started walking away and Seungcheol followed them, they were once again walking in the long hallway. Before they left the library he looked for Mingyu and Minghao and like the others, once they’re other brothers arrive the one he is with will suddenly disappear without saying anything to him. Seungcheol knew without anyone telling him that these two men are also one of the brothers. 

They walked in a long hallway without anyone saying anything, Seungcheol was not in the mood to question the two, he was so confused. He trusts them even though they are a complete stranger to him because they save him and like they said they protected him when he was in danger. He wanted to believe that they are all good people and maybe they could all become good friends during this difficult time but why do they keep avoiding telling him the truth? Why would they only tell him the half of the truth when he should know the whole truth in the very first place? 

The two men in front of him suddenly stop walking, which also made him stop walking, the two stop in one of the doors that Seungcheol thinks is the only door that looks worn out. It was a brown door that looked like no one even planned to change it, the other guy slowly opened the door. When the door finally opened, what he saw was a room full of pictures, most of the pictures looked old. But there was a picture that was different from the others, it was in the middle of the room. The same mens he saw together with his grandparents standing with his whole family, including him . 

“This picture was taken on your seventh birthday, although you don’t remember it because I took those memories of yours .”

He looked at Wonwoo , and suddenly he knew the name of the man in front of him while earlier he had no clue on what is the name of this man. The memory of his name just suddenly came to his mind.

“Explain. Explain, what you mean and what’s going on.”

Seungcheol is flooded with all kinds of emotion, he doesn’t know what to do in this situation.

“We are also vampires like the ones following you but the difference is we are the complete and successful product .” 

He looks at Jihoon who is now sitting in one of the chairs in the room and is now looking at him with a blank expression. 

“As you can see in the pictures we still have our same appearance even hundred years ago, we’re incapable of getting older, we couldn’t even die even a million of bullets got through in our body.”

He looked at Wonwoo that is currently holding one of the picture frames, Wonwoo had an expression that Seungcheol couldn’t distinguish if it’s sadness or nostalgia or maybe it’s the both.

“For the explanation on how we knew your family, it was because one of your ancestors saved us during our most difficult times.”

Jihoon was also holding a picture frame, Seungcheol couldn’t see Jihoon’s eyes but even though he was so far away from the man he could feel the pain in his figure. 

“Ever since then we decided to protect your family, so for generations we would meet your family. That is also why we knew that you would also be in danger in the future.”

“Minghao saw your future when you were a kid. That's why we decided to just watch you from afar and just take action when those failed vampires finally found you.”

Jihoon looked at him and gave him a smile that was full of emotion, it was different from the smiles of the others. Seungcheol was so sure this time that it wasn’t a fake , it was not hiding something, it’s just a smile that hurt and he could see in Jihoon’s eyes that he was tired.

“My brothers couldn’t tell you that all this time you were being protected by monsters .”

Before Seungcheol could think his feet were going in Jihoon's direction but before he could even get near the guy he heard Wonwoo talk that made him stop.

    “If it’s possible we want to just protect you, with out you knowing all of this.”

He looks at Wonwoo who still has a blank expression in face.

“We know you will be scared and you will try to run from us, but trust us Seungcheol we will never hurt you. All we wanted was to protect you, to cherish you. ”

Wonwoo walked closer to him and when he was finally in front of Seungcheol he gently touched his face.

“ We just want to be with you. ”

He could feel the sincerity in his words, and Seungcheol knew this was not just something simple. This is not some indebtedness to his ancestor, this is not some kind of friendship that he thought at first.

“Perhaps, are you? Are you perhaps-”

“Yes, we’re in love with you.” 

He wanted to look back at Jihoon but he couldn’t have the courage to look back, the hand of Wonwoo on his face also stopping him.

“Ever since the day we met you, we just naturally fell in love with you. I still couldn’t give you back your memory but you saved us, you gave us salvation from our long misery.”

This was the very first time that someone confessed their love for Seungcheol and he doesn’t know what he should do. He was confused, earlier he felt betrayed because he found out they were still hiding something from him and then when they entered this room he felt a sudden rush of emotion. There was a long history between his family and these vampires, he was shocked to find out that they were also vampires and not just like the vampire that he first encountered. 

They were complete one’s, but somewhere in his mind he knew that he shouldn’t be shocked. There were a lot of unexplained things during his journey with the other brothers even during his short stay in their house and now to add some more confusing things to him. He was told that they were in love with him and he doesn’t even remember when they first met. Where they were supposed to fall in love with him.

“I know you are confused right now, you should take a rest for now. We will get you later for dinner.”

Suddenly he was alone in his room, no trace of Wonwoo and Jihoon left. As if they were not together earlier, Seungcheol just collapsed on the floor. He is so confused on what he should do, he believes that they were all good people and just another victim of the inhuman experiments and it was true that they have been protecting him. They never bring any harm to Seungcheol during their encounter and based on the pictures it really looks like they even become a family friend. 

He could trust them but what about their feelings for him? His gut feeling once again gave him a warning that this love should not take so easily, he could be optimistic in times. He could think that maybe if he stayed longer and maybe he got to know the brothers much better he could also fall in love with them but. But is that the real correct answer in this situation? He is not even sure if this love will protect and save them. Will this love even make them happy in the end? Is this really the right way for a happy ending?

“You could always leave us, you know?” 

He looked at the source of the voice and he saw Jihoon sitting in his window.

“Do you want me to leave you?” 

Jihoon wasn’t looking at him he just looked at something Seungcheol couldn’t see in his position but he saw how Jihoon lips upwards to some smile.

“Who wants to be left by their loved one?”  

“Then why would you suggest to me to leave you?” 

Jihoon took a sigh and looked at him.

“Because if you're hesitating that much then maybe it would be better to let you go .”

Seungcheol was shocked, there’s something in Jihoon that his gut feeling telling him that he could trust this guy. Maybe if Seungcheol was hesitating earlier and didn't have any clear reason to stay, now he had a clear reason. He promised Seungkwan and Seokmin , he won’t leave them, he will stay with them.   Also he felt that he needed to fix something in this family, even looking at Jihoon now he felt a lot of emotion in his eyes, Seungcheol could see it even Jihoon tried so hard to hide it. He could see how scared the man was , Seungcheol stood up and slowly approached Jihoon who was watching him when he was finally in front of the man he decided to do what he's been wanting to do since earlier.

“What are you-”

“Shhh, let’s stay like this for a while.”

Seungcheol hugged him, he could feel how tense Jihoon was in his hold. He slowly pat Jihoon’s back as if reassuring him that everything would be okay, that he will not leave them. That he would stay here, with them.

“You will regret this.” 

Jihoon weakingly whispered to him and Seungcheol couldn’t help but smile, this was the first time he felt one of the brothers to be so human. A very vulnerable human, he wonders if Jihoon is right, if he will regret this in the future. But maybe if he was not holding onto anything in the past, now he had Jihoon to hold, to trust .

“Then if that happens, make sure to scold me so next time I will listen to you.”

He heard a slight ‘hmmp’ in Jihoon before relaxing in his hold, Seungcheol couldn’t help but chuckle, maybe he just found the tsundere one in this family.

“Are you forgetting that I have my power?  You don’t even know my power and you had the courage to laugh at me?”

Seungcheol slightly pulled away from the hug to look at Jihoon who is currently giving him a glare, and he doesn’t know if it’s because of him laughing at the guy or maybe it’s because he suddenly interrupted their hug.

“Sorry but I couldn’t find what is scary to you especially if I’m taller than you.”

Suddenly Seungcheol could feel the dark aura surrounding Jihoon, in normal circumstances maybe he will regret his decision on teasing the other but Jihoon’s face was so cute for Seungcheol’s eyes that he couldn't help but smile wider to the other man.

“Do you really want to disappear in this world?”

Jihoon said full of threat but Seungcheol just hugged him tighter this time and he could just hear the angry grumble of Jihoon.

“Oh no I’m so scared.”

He could hear the angry whisper of Jihoon like he would kill him someday but Seungcheol could hear in his voice that it was just a harmful threat and Seungcheol couldn’t help but just smile at the guy. Yeah, he would not regret this decision, if there’s someone like Jihoon in this house, even if he's the only one. There’s still a chance that maybe the other brothers will also open their hearts to him and let him see the true side of them.

When it was the time of lunch Jihoon suddenly left him and let him walk in the dining area, when he arrived at the dining area he saw Wonwoo who is currently putting all the dishes on the table. He might not be scared of Jihoon, not like his first encounter with him, but he was still scared of Wonwoo. It looks like the man doesn't have any intention to let him see or know what is on his mind.

“Do you need help?”

Wonwoo looked at him, for a while the man just stared at him and that just made Seungcheol uncomfortable on where he was standing.

“I thought you would run away from us, I never expected you to stay.”

Seungcheol could hear the hint of pain in Wonwoo's tone that he couldn't help but walk near to the guy, when he was beside the guy he took his hand and squeezed it. 

"Sorry for making you sad because of my hesitation but don't worry I decided to stay."

Wonwoo looked at him and he could see a hint of surprise on his eyes, Seungcheol smiled at him. 

"I won't leave you guys."

For the first time that day he saw Wonwoo smile at him and he couldn't help but feel like he made the right decision. 

"Stop that sappiness, let's just eat already."

Jihoon suddenly appeared with his grumbling face, Wonwoo and Seungcheol looked at each other and couldn't help but laugh at Jihoon's grumpiness.

"Continue to laugh at me and I will make sure you two won't eat anything for the next day."

Wonwoo fakes a cough to make himself stop laughing and Seungcheol follows him, they stop laughing but Jihoon is still glaring at them. 

"Let's eat, sorry if it's just noodles and meat. We're not that good of a cook."

Wonwoo gave him an apologetic look but Seungcheol just dismissed him. 

"No, it's okay. This is good because I have been missing the noodles, I'm afraid that I will forget what it tastes like."

Seungcheol smiled at them and he could see the relief in Wonwoo's eyes while Jihoon just started to eat and just ignored the two. Seungcheol and Wonwoo finally took a seat and finally started eating, while they were eating they had a small talk that Jihoon didn't participate in. But it's not a bad thing, he could see that Jihoon is listening to them and just refuses to talk. 

"Ahm, so Wonwoo. When do you plan on giving back my memories?"

He knows that they are having a peaceful time, but Seungcheol was curious about the memories that he doesn't have any knowledge of. He wanted to know what happened on his seventh birthday, on their first meeting. 

"I will give it to you piece by piece of memory, I'm afraid it will have a bad effect on you if I suddenly gave you all the memories I stole from you."

Wonwoo once again for that day looked apologetic to him. 

"I'm sorry if I took your memories away, it needed to be done in a situation where we had no other choice."

Seungcheol just smiled at Wonwoo, he doesn't remember anything in that past but it looked like Wonwoo really regretted stealing his memory. 

"Don't worry, we had all the time in the world to get the memories. But please don't hide anything from me now."

Wonwoo returned his smile. 

"Don't worry, we're not hiding anything from you now."

Jihoon just let the two once again talk about something, he just focused on his food. He couldn't look at Seungcheol, his conscience couldn't take it. He will surely find a way to make Seungcheol see the whole truth . 

After the dinner Wonwoo and Seungcheol found out that they both like video games so they decided to play for a while, but Jihoon just left them saying "I got Seungcheol alone earlier so it's your turn." That made the atmosphere awkward for the two, but the awkwardness disappeared when they started playing. 

It was a fun night, the truth made him shocked but that also set him free but something still bugging him. He doesn't know what it is but he decides to let the time make it disappear, this time for sure he could fully trust the brothers. He slept that night not like the other nights, that night would be his last night he would sleep peacefully without a nightmare visiting him every night.

Chapter Text

He woke up on that day hearing a beautiful hum, he slowly opened his eyes and when he looked around he saw a man opening the curtain in his room. Usually he would flinch seeing a stranger in his room but maybe being together with the siblings he gets used to seeing new faces every single time. The man noticed him and immediately looked at him and gave him a smile.

"Good morning, Seungcheol. Did you have a nice sleep?"

The man asked him with a soft voice and Seungcheol couldn't help but return his smile. 

"Yeah, it was a good sleep."

The guy helped him to get up, he was also helped to change his clothes. He was so out of it that he just let the man. He just finally got back to reality when he finally changed, he forgot to get the name of the man helping him. 

"Wen Junhui, don't worry, it's understandable, especially when you just woke up."

The guy smiled at him before fixing his bed.

"Wait let me do that, you already help me enough that it's making me embarrassed."

Junhui looked at him before chuckling, which made Seungcheol confused. 

"Sorry, it just amazed me how mature you become."

Suddenly a memory just comes to his mind, he is still a kid in that memory and there's a man with him that he keeps ordering orders. Like picking him up or feeding him, and even taking him to bathe. It was a blurred memory at first but it became clearer with each memory and he felt his face hot when the face of the man finally became clear. 

"Ah, Wonwoo is really a hidden bully in this family."

Junhui smiled at him before patting his head that just made his face even hotter than before. 

"Don't worry about those embarrassing memories, you were still a kid that time after all."

Seungcheol immediately shakes his head and is afraid his head will fall off. 

"No, no. I'm still sorry for being so rude to you."

Seungcheol hid his face in his hand, so his mother was not joking when he said that Seungcheol used to be such a spoiled brat when he was still a kid. But he guess running away from his home because he felt suffocated is also considered a trait of being a spoiled brat? Maybe he doesn't still change even when he was still a brat, he suddenly felt a warm hand on his hand. Slowly the hand guided him to separate his hand to his face, he tightly closed his eyes afraid of what he would see. 

"Hey, Cheollie, open your eyes. I want you to look at me."

Seungcheol was hesitating, but he felt a reassuring hand on his face as he slowly opened his eyes. When he finally opened his eyes, what welcomed him was the warm smile of Junhui.

"Don't think about the negative things, it won't do anything good to you. Yes, you were a spoiled brat but you change into this awesome adult that you are and you running away from your cage is not being a spoiled brat. You just wanted to be free, and anyone is allowed to have the freedom that they want."

When Junhui said those words he felt warmth inside of him but the sadness in Junhui's eyes didn't pass him, he just felt an urge to hug the guy and that's what he did. He felt Junhui flinch on his hug and he suddenly remember Jihoon, are these brothers not used to this kind of action? 

"Don't worry, I'm sure you guys will be free someday."

He felt Junhui's nuzzle on his neck that made him shiver, he almost forgot the feelings of the brothers on him.

"Thank you Seungcheol."

He could hear the sincerity in Junhui's voice and Seungcheol couldn't help but smile fondly at the guy. There's no mistake that these brothers are hundred years older than him but why did it sometimes feel that he was older than them? Seungcheol wondered if it's because of what they got through and that just made him sad all of sudden. 

"Did I do something wrong?"

Junhui broke their hug and looked at him with concern. 

"Wait? Huh? No, of course none. Why did you suddenly ask?"

Seungcheol was startled by the sudden question. 

"Well, you smell sad that's why I thought that maybe I did something wrong and made you feel sad."

If Junhui had the ear of a dog, he was so sure he could see it down because of his dejected face, but wait what? 

"You what? Smell?"

Junhui tilted his head and that just made Seungcheol want to pinch his cheek because of his cuteness. 

"Wonwoo and Jihoon didn't tell you what our respective attributes are?"

Seungcheol just shook his head to the question and he saw how Junhui took a sigh. 

"Those two, how could they forget to tell you one of the most important parts."

Well maybe it's because Seungcheol shows no sign of being interested in their powers and focuses on them being family friends also him losing his memories without him realising.

"It would take a while to discuss all of their attributes but let me explain to you the gist of it, all of us could hear the minds of other people but for some reason we couldn't hear each of us. We could also teleport and also we have super power strength but each of us have different attributes like mine who had an extraordinary sense of smell that I could smell emotions."

Seungcheol couldn't help but give a big 'Ohh' that just made Junhui smile fondly at him, Junhui just patted Seungcheol's head before continuing. 

"Because of my attributes we could immediately know if an enemy is nearby, but well it's not just me who could be a lookout. There's also other attributes there but let just my brothers explain to you especially if it was their fault for not saying anything in the first place."

Seungcheol just chuckled at Junhui, he looked like a stressed older brother who always fixed his brother's mess. If it's not because of the pictures he saw he would mistaken Junhui as the 'eldest brother'. 

"Hey Junhui, can I know the order of your siblings?"

Seungcheol added big puppy eyes to that request to make the man agree and Junhui just is really a simp to the guy and took a fond sigh to the guy. 

"I am the third of the oldest, the next one would be the guy you will meet later. Next one would be Wonwoo, then Jihoon, Seokmin, Mingyu, Minghao, Seungkwan, Hansol and Chan. Our two older brothers are twins but they have different fathers and I know it's complicated."

Seungcheol chuckled at it. 

"I think it's not that complicated compared to what happened to me in the past few days."

Seungcheol sarcastically said to Junhui and the man is in between feeling bad for hiding everything for so long and feeling relieved because it looks like Seungcheol finally opened himself to them. But before he could decide on what to feel, Seungcheol was suddenly snatched by a large beast and Junhui just made an exasperated sigh. 

"Could you just normally introduce yourself even just once?"

Seungcheol was beyond confused right now, earlier he was just talking to Junhui and now he's on the back of a tiger who is currently running. All Seungcheol could do was to hug tightly on the back of the tiger, he doesn't even know where they are going or if this tiger is human friendly. 

"You can get off now, we're here."

Seungcheol slowly opened his eyes, he couldn't help but be amazed by what he saw. He slowly got off in the back of the tiger, he loved the scene that he was seeing right now. They are on the top of a mountain and he could see the whole forest and also the sun that has not yet been fully risen. 

"This is beautiful."

It was like the view took his breath away, this was the first time he saw beautiful scenery like this. 

"Glad you like it."

He looked at the tiger who had a smug expression on its face, he slowly approached the tiger and patted it's head. 

"Are you one of the brothers?"

The tiger constantly nods its head and Seungcheol once again falls for the charms of the brothers. 

"Thank you for bringing me here."

He didn't know that a tiger could smile, but the tiger in front of him smiled widely at him and it's eyes disappeared in his smile.

"It's my pleasure, I have been wanting to bring you here but my other brothers would always stop me seeing you, saying that I might scare you. But everything is okay now."

Seungcheol just chuckled at the energetic big cat in front of him. He might at first be frightened of the beast earlier but now he thinks that the beast is now just a big cat with it's attitude. 

"Do you want to take a walk? You didn't enjoy the scenery earlier, did you? Sorry about that, the sun was getting higher and I don't want you to miss this scenery."

The big cat's ears suddenly went down and that just made Seungcheol's heart squeeze because of cuteness. How come a beast like a tiger can be cute like a hamster? 

"Hey, it's okay. Also I enjoyed the ride earlier, it's been a while since I felt the wind like that."

The big cat's eyes suddenly sparkle because of that, it's really hard for Seungcheol to stop his chuckle because of the adorable cat. 

"Then there wouldn't be a problem if you take another ride on me huh?"

Seungcheol immediately changes his expression to a worried one, he doesn't really mind but he knows how heavy he is and knowing that this cat is one of the brothers he is worried that he might cause an injury to one of the brothers. Even though he knew that the brothers are basically not human he still couldn't help but be worried. Suddenly the tiger head gently bumps him and nestle at him. 

"Hey, don't worry about anything, okay? Everything will be okay, trust me."

Once again he saw the big smile of the big cat and Seungcheol just smiled because of it, this adorable big cat will cause him a heart attack someday. 

"Then please take care of me."

The tiger beams at him and gently goes down so Seungcheol could easily ride on it's back. When he was finally on it's back the tiger slowly walked through the forest unlike earlier, he saw other animals that greeted the tiger with so much friendliness that made Seungcheol surprised. He thought that maybe not being a real tiger makes the other animals friendly to you for some reason. 

"Hey, I'm a real tiger, you know. I tried to be intimidating at first but the other animals are not really scared of me and I don't even know why."

The big cat whined at him and maybe this is the reason why those animals couldn't help but just adore this big cat that is also known as a tiger. 

"Right, are you the brother that I was supposed to meet?"

The tiger nodded eagerly. 

"Though I'm sure my brothers will scold me for the rude introduction so I would properly introduce myself later, so wait for it."

Seungcheol chuckled at the smugness of the tiger. 

"Then I would wait for it."

They walk through the forest and Seungcheol notices how healthy this forest was. There's a lot of animals in here, there even have animals that he has no knowledge of. He could see every corner of the forest with different kinds of fruits. 

"Do you like it?"

The tiger asked him and Seungcheol hummed an approval, he heard the tiger chuckle. That surprised Seungcheol, why does the cute big adorable cat have a hot chuckle?

"Glad you like it, we took care of this forest. It's amazing how the once dead forest became like this, my brothers are really amazing."

Seungcheol gently patted the back of the tiger. 

"All of you are amazing, it's not just your brothers."

The tiger didn't say anything but they walked in comfortable silence after that, Seungcheol just appreciated this beautiful scene in front of his eyes. It felt like it had been years since he felt so peaceful like this, so he decided to just take this moment in his heart. He would forever treasure this small moment like this.

When they arrived at the house the tiger gently put him down and before he could even thank the tiger, it suddenly changed its appearance into a human. Seungcheol's eyes almost fall out to its socket, he immediately looks away. The tiger turned into a man which is not the one surprise him, but the man was naked. All this time he's riding a naked man? Wait why does that sound erotic? But wait, what's with those muscular body? Wait, that's not weird at all, after all he's a tiger and the tiger earlier was sturdy so it's not weird at all.  But, but…

"Hey, are you okay?"

He heard the tiger's voice, maybe because he was a tiger earlier that's why Seungcheol didn't notice how gentle his voice was, but this is not good for his heart at all. 

"Ahm, ye-ah. Yes, per-perfectly fine."

Seungcheol could feel how fast his heart was beating and he could almost hear the thump thump of his heart.

"Did I do something wrong? Why are you not looking at me?"

He heard how dejected the man's voice was.

"Of course not!"

Before he knew it he looked at the tiger to deny it and he was prepared to see the once again naked body but instead welcomed by a gorgeous full clothed man. The man smiled at him, that just made his heart swoon. This guy would not be good to his heart, he would really have a heart attack because of this man. 

"Then that's good to hear."

Ah, what a beautiful sight this morning. His eyes are full of beautiful scenery he saw, especially the naked part. Nope, that's a mistake. Not that naked part, Seungcheol's face could feel how hot his face was, he suddenly remembered that these brothers could hear mind. He immediately looked at the man who was now standing so close to him. 

"The name is Kwon Soonyoung by the way."

Soonyoung smiled brightly, his eyes disappeared when he smiled. Like an idiot, Seungcheol just stared at the man and when Soonyoung realized the silence he looked at Seungcheol who looked like a statue that just made him worried for the man. 

"Seungcheol? Are you okay?"

Before Seungcheol could say something, his embarrassing stomach once again embarrassed him, but this time the impact was so large that Seungcheol thought he would never recover from this embarrassment.

"Right, breakfast. You haven't eaten yet, are you? Sorry for making you wait."

Seungcheol just shook his head because Soonyoung looked like a kick puppy that just made his conscience throb. 

"No, it's okay. It's not your fault at all, I'm just a glutton really ha-ha."

Maybe saying that he's a glutton just makes his situation worse, but Soonyoung just smiled at him. 

"Don't worry you're still cute even if you are gluttonous."

Nah, this is not really good for Seungcheol's heart. He changed the topic before he became a big cherry in front of Soonyoung.

"Hey, did you think the food was already cooked?"

He's been wanting to help the brothers cook the food but he couldn't find the right time for it, but maybe this is the right time to help. 

"I think Junhui is not yet finished, do you want to help?"

Seungcheol nods his head like an eager puppy and Soonyoung chuckles at his cuteness. 

"Then let me guide you to our kitchen."

Soonyoung started walking and Seungcheol followed him behind, he watched how energetic Soonyoung walked in front of him. The guy is even humming a song he couldn't recognize, he smiled. He remembered what Seokmin and Seungkwan told him, maybe it was Soonyoung they were talking about. He couldn't  help but notice how different Soonyoung was to the other siblings, his full of energy, full of life. He could even see a glimpse of innocence in Soonyoung's eyes.

"We're here."

Seungcheol suddenly snapped out of his daydream and looked behind him and there he saw Junhui cutting, something, he felt his surroundings stop on what he saw. He felt his heart stop beating.

"What's wrong with your face? You look so pale, are you okay?"

He could hear the concern on Soonyoung's face but his attention was on Junhui and what's in front of the guy. His cutting it as if he already did it many times. 

"Hey, Seungcheol. What's wrong with you? Your expression looks like you didn't know we eat humans. "

He didn't know , it was a human. The thing that Junhui has been cutting is human , and it's not just a human. It was a very familiar face to him, it was one of the guys who surrounded him when he was with Chan and Hansol. He remembers each of the vampire's faces that have been seeking him so he knows for sure that it was one of them. 

"Seungcheol, you're starting to worry me, Jihoon told me you already knew where the meat came, that you have been eating ."

Seungcheol vision suddenly became blurred because of it, he suddenly remember the meat stew, the curry, all the meat Mingyu cook and the meat in the noodles last night. He suddenly felt like vomiting everything he ate, he didn't even notice he was crying. At that moment he did what he should do in the very first place, he run as fast as he could.

Chapter Text

“Now running away is too cruel don’t you think?” 

Seungcheol's surroundings suddenly became black, he also stop moving. He didn’t even have a chance to run far, he was in the long hallway before this happened. He heard a person walking near him and he really, really wanted to run far away from that person but he couldn’t even move his finger.

“ This is Jihoon’s fault , we warned him but he still refused to listen to us.”

There is a man in front of him, his eyes glowing in red and he has a gentle smile at him. In the past maybe that smile would make him feel reassured but now after finding out what they’ve been making him eat, he just wants to just disappear in this place.

“That's not nice, you know? You want to disappear here when we have been treating you nice.”

He felt a presence in his back but he couldn’t even move his head to look at that person, but maybe he should be thankful for that because he doesn’t even want to look at that person’s expression while saying that. Because he could hear the sarcasm on that person’s voice and it’s sickening him just imagining what kind of expression that person is wearing.

You fool me. 

The person in front of him gave him an innocent look as if they’re being accused of something they didn’t do.

“We didn’t fool you Seungcheol, but maybe we did hide it .”

That’s not different from tricking me, you made me eat. Those- you- 

Seungcheol couldn’t form his words on how he felt, he felt so betrayed. He’s so naive, how could he trust them from that start. He shouldn’t trust them in the very first place, this his fault. How could they even stomach to eat those, those people? They’re just like mon-

“I will stop you there, you don’t have any right to assume anything from us when you didn’t know anything from the start.”

Suddenly there’s a hand gripping his face and making him look at the man beside him, like the man in front of him, his eyes glowing in red but he could see the anger on the man’s face that made Seungcheol shiver.

“Don’t scare him Han, he's scared enough anyway.”

The guy that was in front of him held the hand on his face that started to hurt him, the man just stared at him before finally letting go.

“It was his fault, you heard what he was going to call us.” 

The man gave him a glare and if he could only move he would flinch with his glare.

“It is indeed his fault, but we’re not here for that. We still have an unresolved issue that we should first fix before his punishment.”

Seungcheol was suddenly in his room and he could finally move his body, the first thing he did was to stay far away from the brothers. What did he even do wrong that he needed to be punished? They’re the one who tricked him and now they want to punish him, for what? For knowing everything, for wanting to leave because now he knows what kind of monster they are?

“Choi Seungcheol, do you really want to make us mad?”

The sibling is now looking at him with a blank expression but he could feel the anger of the two, and maybe Seungcheol already forgot that he was scared earlier and that this two have a power to easily eliminate him but he was so angry and betray that he just let his mouth to talk what he's been feeling since earlier.

“But it was the truth, you tricked me. You wanted to protect me? You already told me the whole truth? But what is this? Why did you make me eat that kind of meat? Those people? How could you even stomach eating those people? Maybe because of the experiment something changed for you guys, but eating those people is still not right. What kind of human are you?”

“Maybe because we’re not humans, that’s why.”

That suddenly made him stop and look at Jeonghan , he suddenly felt laughing. Wow, so Wonwoo just decided to make a little help here and let him remember the names of brothers? Wow, what a really big help, what a bastard and liar . He said that he already told the whole truth but now Seungcheol will find out that there's something big that they have been hiding from him, on what they have been doing to him.

“Don’t think that we are on the same length, we’re not human anymore and we need to eat them to survive.”

“Survive? So you need human meat to survive, I thought those vampires were already horrible for drinking the blood of those innocent people, but you're the worst. You're not just drinking their blood but you're also eating them?”

“You think we want that? We tried to eat those fucking animal meat like we did, like when we was human. ”

Seungcheol was shocked, he saw tears falling to Jeonghan’s eyes.

“The experiment was indeed successful but when we’re finally free from those endless labyrinths of misery we thought we could have our original life back, but we're so wrong.”

Jisoo was smiling but he could see the hopelessness in his eyes.

“We couldn’t even eat the food we once loved, we couldn’t even drink the water that never failed to cure our thirst. We even try to attack those family that we all have left, and yes we became monsters because the only thing that could make the pain we have every time we would be hungry or thirsty is to eat fucking human meat and to drink their blood.”

“It disgusts us, how we became worse and you think we don’t know that? To even less the guiltiness we felt every fucking single time we started to eat those failed experiment to lessen the guilt but of course who we are kidding, it doesn’t lessen it.”

They would stress every single word they said, and Seungcheol could feel so much emotion but no this is not about them, this is about him .

“Then why would you make me eat those? Are you trying to add another companion in this guilty club or is this your way of making me suffer?”

“We did that to protect you!” 

“Are you sure it was to protect me? Because I felt like it brought me more harm than to protect me, Are you sure this is not your selfishness talking?”

Seungcheol was done thinking about their feelings, he was thinking about his feelings now because ever since he met those vampires he think that he just stop thinking about himself in the middle of journey and just thought about the brothers, he always thought on what he could do about them when instead these brothers never thought about him.

“We thought about you.” 

He sarcastically laugh at Jisoo, maybe if someone saw him they would think of him as hysterical maniac but Seungcheol was so close of being crazy on what’s happening, he's been trying to keep his shit together but what he saw and what he learn the last thread of sanity finally teared apart.

“If you think about me then you would think about how I will feel when you hide me the truth, you will think what I will feel about if I find out what I have been eating. You will think about my feelings.”

“Do you think we have the luxury to do that? The only way to hide you and keep you safe was to mix your DNA with them, or other than the only thing we all left to do is to make you like a vampire, like us .” 

Seungcheol was baffled by what Jeonghan said, he thought that staying in this house and being with them is enough to make those other vampires stay away from him. Because he thought that maybe being a complete vampire was enough to intimidate the other vampires and make them stay away from them, but that wasn't enough?

“It wasn’t enough, yes we’re more powerful than them. Yes, we could eliminate all of them with even just one of our brothers but they’re not the only enemies here .”

Jisoo looks at him with eyes full of regret, they’re still hiding something from him. Seungcheol doesn’t know if there’s even a bottom of this undying pile of mystery, of hidden truths. 

“Can you just finally tell me the WHOLE truth, don’t even try to hide even a single little thing.”

Jisoo looked at Jeonghan but the man refused to look at his twins and just continued glaring at Seungcheol that he just faced head on.

“Han, will you stop it already?”

Jeonghan finally looked at Jisoo and took a sigh and finally started talking calmly.

“The man who started this experiment is still alive, like us he also achieved immortality. But he still wants more, he thought that we’re not still the perfect piece that he could master. He thought he still could create more, a piece that could conquer the world like some cliché mad scientist that he is.”

“He thought that your blood is the key on that matter, like us he had his attribute. But unlike us who have all individual attributes, he had it all. Meaning he could easily detect you if we didn’t mix anything to your DNA which is the main key to finding you, those vampire's DNA will mix yours and that is the perfect way to hide you.”

“But you still should think about my feelings.” 

Seungcheol looked at them, and the two could see his eyes with a mixture of hatred and sorrow. Jisoo tried to approach him, to consult him but he stopped when he heard all Seungcheol’s thoughts and for the first time that day Jeonghan’s hostility suddenly went away.

“I’m a human being with the ability to feel emotion and I know you also had it, it doesn’t mean that you became a vampire you don’t have the ability to feel it because I know you do. You should think about what I would feel when you did this. I know you were trying to protect me, but it doesn't make me happy at all. I just felt like a doll, it felt like I didn't have any choice but to follow what you wanted.”

Seungcheol harshly wiped the tears on his face, words couldn’t describe what he was feeling right now. He shouldn’t have never left his home, he should be more careful of his wounds like his family wanted, he shouldn’t have never taken their hands, he shouldn't have never trusted them .

“It’s already too late regretting things.” 

He felt the sudden change of the atmosphere, he could feel himself shaking from fear. When he looked at the twins their eyes once again became red, they were looking at him with a blank look but Seungcheol knows that whatever these two are thinking about, it wouldn’t be really good.

“You were given a lot of chances to run but you decided to stay.” 

Seungcheol wanted to argue that statement but before he could he suddenly stopped on what the next they said.

“You made a promise to us .” 

“You said you will never leave us.”

“You said you always take responsibility for your actions.” 

“Or are you just an irresponsible adult that after you made our poor innocent brothers believe your lies, you will suddenly break your own promise?”

It suddenly bit him what he said, all the things he said. He could easily say something here but it would just make him the worst person here and he doesn’t know if he could really be the villain here. All of the brothers fool him, all of them hide the truth, all of them hurt his feelings but, but could he take to be the one to hurt their feelings? 

“That’s right Seungcheol, are you ready to hurt their feelings? The innocent feelings of my brothers?”

Seungcheol glared at Jisoo who is now beside him and playing with his hair, the man just gave him a smirk.

“Jihoon even let you run but you're so stubborn and decide to stay.”

Jeonghan was on his other side and he could feel how close the man was to him.

“Why are you even doing this to me?”

Seungcheol just wanted to leave here, he just wanted to bring back his life. How come he ended up in this place? How come his peaceful and ordinary life became so distant to him in just the past few weeks? 

“What do you mean why? Of course it's because we love you .”

Seungcheol looked at the two brothers. He might be a fool with love but even a fool can know that their eyes are not a person of loving someone, it was an eyes of obsession .

“As a punishment you will stay here for a while, your not allowed to leave your room unless you stop thinking about stupid thoughts.”

“We will wait for you until you finally give up your life to us, we are willing to wait how long it takes, we had an unlimited lifetime afterall.”

The twins left him and all he could do was to collapse to the ground, he just let his tears fall into his face. It was an endless tear and he couldn’t do anything but just to cry hopelessly hoping that it was just all a nightmare. Hoping that he would wake up in his old home with his family, hoping that he would wake up in his apartment and once again going to the busy work on the coffee shop, his hopes and hopes but he knew it was all a hopeless hope. 

Chapter Text

"At this rate you will collapse because of starvation."

He was peacefully (or trying to find peace in this situation) staring out his window when he heard a voice coming from the door. He tried to ignore the new presence in the room but the said presence suddenly appeared in front of him that in normal circumstances he would flinch but instead he just stared eye to eye at the man. Chan took a sigh, he looked exasperated as if Seungcheol was a spoiled brat throwing a tantrum. 

"You know that being stubborn wouldn't help you at all, right? It would just make your situation worse."

He glared at Chan who just took it as if it was nothing.

"You fooled me."

"And we did, but we let you decide if you will follow us right?"

"I had no choice!"

"Then you shouldn't make a choice that you will regret later!"

"And now I'm the bad one here? Why help me when you're gonna hurt me in the end?"

Seungcheol thought he was done crying, he thought he was done feeling hurt. In the past few days that he was locked in this room he thought he finally squeezed all of his emotion but maybe he's still a human and he still could feel emotion. 

"I know, I know this is hard for you. But you could get used to it, eating human meat or living with us."

"Get used to it? How could you say that when all of this feels so wrong to me, I couldn't stomach to even see the food you prepare thinking if I already met the human you killed or if it's someone I know."

"You thought we were born like this from the start? Of course we don't want this, but it is the only way we could ease our pain. We had no choice!"

"Then don't push your ideals to me, I am not you, I still have my choice and if you know how not to have another choice then why would you corner me like this?"

Chan stopped, whatever he was going to say died in his mouth. Seungcheol looked at him with so much pain and betrayal. 

" You do know what I feel in this situation, to have no other choice but choose the route that I didn't even know if it's the right one. But now you're blaming me for choosing the bad decision when you used to be also in this kind of situation and we both knew you also regretted your decision like me. But why, why did you guys become the monster that you are now ?"

Seungcheol was crying and Chan was looking at him with an expression he couldn't explain. He doesn't know if it's despair or something more. 

"You were once in a hopeless situation, you still are . But why are you expecting me to be so cool with this, to not be hurt and act betrayed? Do I not have the right to feel emotion?"

Chan looked away at him and whispered something but he still managed to hear it. 

"But you promise."

It's about the promise again, he was about to say something when suddenly a memory flashed in his mind. 

He should really start listening to his parents, if he didn't leave their home he wouldn't be in this situation. He was surrounded by packs of wolves and based on what he read, packs of wolves are really dangerous especially if you didn't know how many they could call in their pack. Maybe this is the end, maybe he will die here without even becoming a proper adult. 

It looks like the wolves finally finished observing their prey because one of the wolves was ready to jump him when suddenly the wolf flew in one of the three. 

"What a bully, you really want to attack a one child?"

Suddenly a man appeared in front of him, for a while the man and wolves looked at each other before the whole pack ran far away from them. The man looked at him and gave him a gentle smile. 

"Are you okay?"

He nodded to the man. 

"I am flattered that you think of that, but please take it easy with the compliment. I couldn't take it."

The man's face is now red, which makes Seungcheol think that maybe seeing those wolves made the man sick. The man looks at him and chuckles.

"Let's go home Seungcheol, your parents have been looking for you."

"You know me?"

Seungcheol was shocked to know that the man knew him and his parents. Is he one of those fairies in the forest that he once read in a book? The man gently patted his head. 

"Yes, I know you also. I'm not a fairy but I will always protect you."

The smile on the man's face was so gentle that it made Seungcheol feel warm on his whole body. 

"Then when I grow up, I'll protect you too."

Seungcheol smiled brightly at the man.

"I don't even need protection, I'm strong you know?"

Seungcheol shook his head, which confused the man. 

"I just saw you crying alone, you know? So I'll make sure when I grow up you will never cry and I'll protect you from that scary man."

The man was shocked to hear it, he even failed to stop the tears in his eyes.  He immediately wiped it before it could even fall to his face, Seungcheol looked at him curiously. The man smiled at Seungcheol and offered his pinky fingers. 

"Then, it's a promise."

Seungcheol immediately intertwined his little pinky finger with the man. 

"A promise."

Seungcheol was confused, what does his young self mean when he said he saw Chan crying all alone and the scary man? He didn't even see that part of the memory, something is still missing for sure. His train of thought was suddenly interrupted, he was shocked when Chan forcefully gripped his hand.

"You promise right? You shouldn't break your promise, you won't, right?"

Seungcheol was frightened by how desperate Chan looked, he looked like a child begging his parents not to be left. He could see the tears on his eyes, he looked so scared, he looked like all of the hope in that eye vanished. This was the first time he saw a genuine emotion to the guy, it scares him. It scares him that he knew, he knew what would happen if he ever left this home. 

"You won't leave us, right?"

Chan looked so desperate that his grip was starting to hurt Seungcheol, he winced in pain. 

"STOP IT, CHAN!"

Both of them were shocked, they both looked at the source of the voice and they saw Seokmin. The man had blank expressions but they both could see how mad the man was, Seungcheol shivers, he could feel all over his body how mad Seokmin is. It looks like he's not the only one who could feel it, he noticed Chan's hand was shaking. 

"You're hurting him."

It was said with no emotion, it was just a simple statement, but they both could feel the weight of his words. Chan immediately let go of him, the man was just looking down as if ashamed of what he had done. 

"I'm-"

"Just leave for now Chan, you're unstable to be with him right now."

Chan looked like he wanted to argue but the look on Seokmin gave him a final warning that the guy won't let him be with Seungcheol until he is not stable. Chan looked at Seungcheol, the man really looked sorry for what he had done. The man didn't say anything, he just left without any sound. 

"Sorry."

Seungcheol immediately looked at Seokmin, the man was looking at him. His eyes were full of repentance, the man looked away at him. Now he wonders what is the meaning of that sorry, if it's because of how Chan acted or for something else? 

"What are you sorry for?"

Seokmin flinched at how tired Seungcheol's voice was, he sounded so exhausted. Seokmin wanted to comfort him, to hug him. But he knew, he knew that he doesn't even deserve to be in the same place with the guy. 

"For everything."

Seungcheol was startled, Seokmin was avoiding his eyes but he heard, he heard how devastated he sounded.

"Remember this Seungcheol, never trust any of us."

The man said to him with an eyes full of worry. 

"Even you?"

His young self asks the man, the man smiles at him bitterly. 

"Even me."

"But why? All of you are good people, especially you. You always took care of me, even if your food is not tasty as my mom made it was still tasty, you know? You also help me sleep when I can't sleep because of my nightmares, so why?"

The man hugged him and even though he was young he could feel the pain in those hugs, so his young self reciprocated the hug. 

"I, I couldn't tell you anymore but we're not good people at all. It might not be now, but we will bring you so much pain. We will steal your happiness, and I.  I couldn't even do anything at all, so run. Run far away from us, never look at us again. Forget everything about us, don't think about us. Think of your own happiness, because that's all I wish for. To see you smile and never cry because of us."

Before Seungcheol could ask, suddenly the man flew into the wall. The memory was cut with him shouting the man's name. 

"You, you tried."

Finally Seokmin looked at him, Seungcheol saw how Seokmin looked and it broke him, it broke the two. 

"All I could do was try, I didn't even change anything. I couldn't even tell you anything, I couldn't even help you run. I'm a coward, I'm useless."

Seokmin finally cries, the tears that he's been trying to stop finally start escaping to his eyes. Slowly, Seungcheol slowly approached the man and when he was finally on his reach, he hugged the man tightly. 

"I'm so sorry Seungcheol, I should try harder. But, but I was scared. All I have is my brothers, I was afraid they would abandon me but I knew it was wrong because I would snatch your freedom and I don't want that. I always wanted you to be happily free, but how many times I tried it was all useless. I would try, then someone would stop me, I would try again, then you would forget, I would try once again but I would put you in danger. You, you almost died because of me. I was so scared holding your injured body, if something happens to you. I, I couldn't do anything to save you."

Seokmin's voice was so broken, it broke Seungcheol. It was a blurry memory but he saw how many times Seokmin visited him to warn him, to make him escape. He even saw one of the memories where they were in a far away country but he got injured and he saw how terrified Seokmin's expression was seeing him being treated by his injury. It was just a simple injury, a scratch. But he had a rare blood type, there were also vampires following them. He saw how Seokmin tried to protect him just to be once again back to his confinement. 

"Thank you."

Seokmin sobbed suddenly stopped, he knew it was out of the blue but Seungcheol felt that he should let Seokmin know how thankful he was. 

"Thank you for being there when no else was, thank you for always trying. For not stopping to try, thank you for protecting me. Thank you for loving me. "

He knew, even though it should be a new thing to him. He knew this is love, this is what love is . Their peaceful atmosphere suddenly interrupted when the air became suddenly heavy, the man that he was hugging is now in the mid air. 

"SEOKMIN!"

he frantically shouted, Mingyu was choking Seokmin. He could see how mad Mingyu was and even though he knew how immortal the brothers are he couldn't help but be worried about Seokmin especially as he can see how much he is in pain. 

"You're fooling him again, how many times do you want to ruin this?"

Mingyu's voice was full of anger, but Seokmin was just calm, or how much a person could be calm while being choked. 

"I'm not fooling him, you know it better than anyone."

"Do you really want him to leave us?"

The new appeared man shouted when he pulled the other man.

"I don't but-"

"But what? You don't want him to leave us but you keep saying this foolish stuff."

"It is not foolish, and you know it."

"Ah I see, you're trying to play the good guy so you can monopolize him. What a great tactic you have, hyung ."

"That's not it! Stop giving other meaning to my actions, don't be mad at me just because you couldn't do what I could. We both know that to all of us YOU could change something, but you're too scared to change."

His young self saw how the other man's eyes glowed in red, he suddenly choked the man that he was hugging. 

"No."

He weakly whispered.

"Don't worry Cheol, I will teach him a lesson and you will never be confused again."

His young self shook his head, he saw tears in the other man. It looked like he was having a hard time breathing. 

"No, please no."

"NO!"

He shouted but it looked like Mingyu couldn't hear him, Seokmin looked at him and smiled reassuringly, or what the man wanted to do but it just made Seungcheol more frantic than before. Seokmin was hurting, he doesn't know what are the limits of them being immortal or is there even a limit. But Seokmin was obviously hurt and having difficulty breathing. He needed to do something but he didn't know what.

"The two of you, stop."

They suddenly separate from each other, when they look at the source of the voice they find Jisoo with a blank expression. But they could feel his threatening aura, he took a disappointed sigh.

"I thought the two of you would finally stop acting like a kid but I guess I was wrong."

"But-"

"No buts, the two of you leave. You're not allowed to go anywhere else until you both learn your lesson."

The two immediately obey the two, Seokmin even gave him one last glance before leaving the door. He wanted to follow them and make sure that Seokmin is indeed okay but what next Jisoo said made him stop. 

"Are you happy now? My brothers are now fighting because of you."

"Are you happy to rift us apart?"

The man's expression makes his young self shiver from fear, he has just a blank look but he can feel the anger in those blank empty eyes. 

"I don't know what you are saying."

He softly whispered, afraid that if his voice even raised a little the man would hurt him. 

"My twin and I are always together even in every decision we make, but I don't even understand why he keeps insisting on keeping you."

The man gripped his face, his eyes starting to water because of how forceful it was. 

"See? You even cry over simple things."

The man annoyingly said. 

"I, I don't know why you hate me. But I like you, you know?"

The man raised his one eyebrow, Seungcheol could see the slight amusement and interest in his eyes. 

"And why do you even like me?"

The man mockingly said to him. 

"Because you were once nice to me, you took care of me when I'm pain. So I like you a lot."

The man's expression suddenly changed, he looked as if he just remembered a nostalgic memory. 

"I don't really like you, and you're the reason why our life is in a mess like this."

Seungcheol glared at Jisoo which amused the man, Seungcheol has been hostile to them but not like this which is new for him.

"You always put the blame on me when the truth is that you are the one at fault here, you think I want to be here and be the reason why your brothers are hurting each other?"

Jisoo just stood there listening to him, he wanted to punch the man but he knew that before his punch landed on the guy, the said guy already used his power to avoid him. 

"You can just let go of me, but you just choose to hold me and now look around you.  We're just hurting each other, at this rate each of our existence will be just poison to each of us."

Jisoo looked away and started walking to the door. 

"Make sure to eat or at this rate you will really die of starvation, I'll prepare another food for you."

The man said before leaving, he was again left alone in his room. He really hoped that he would stop crying like some tragic heroine but he couldn't help it, he still had his feelings even though his freedom was snatched away. 

"Seungcheol?"

He looked at the door and saw Soonyoung who looked at him dejectedly. 

"Hey I brought you some porridge, don't worry it's pure rice. Also it's just really rice, I could even show you rice fields if you want."

Soonyoung put the hot porridge on the table near him but the man remained far away from him. He was fidgeting where he was standing, Seungcheol didn't say anything to him and just waited. 

"I, I'm, sorry. I'm sorry for being so clueless."

Soonyoung was not looking at him, he was also biting his lips hard that Seungcheol was so sure that he could see that it was starting to blood. 

"Jihoon told me everything, he said what is normal for us, for me, was not the same outside this forest and I. I made you see some horrible scenes, I even let you eat those meat. I'm really sorry Seungcheol."

"This was your first time outside? Are you for real?"

The man nodded his head eagerly to his young self. 

"Yeah, I grew up in a really strict environment which is the reason I'm not allowed anywhere outside of our home. I don't even remember my childhood or anything in the past that doesn't include my brother's. My memory only starts when I'm already living with them."

The man smiled at him brightly that Seungcheol couldn't help but be awed by his brightness, it was as if he was looking at the sun. 

"That's why I'm always excited to leave our house, it's been my dream to see the outside world, to know more."

The man chuckled, it was such a beautiful rhythm in his ears. 

"I'm happy that you're the very first person I met in the outside world, you're my real evidence that the world I knew is not the whole world. I could still meet a lot of nice people here."

Seungcheol immediately ran to Soonyoung, he gave him a hug that made the man startled. Soonyoung tried to seperate from the hug, but Seungcheol just hugged him more closely. 

"No, Seungcheol. I, I don't deserve this. I fooled you, I trick. I hurt you when all you do was to be kind to me, I'm really, really sorry."

He could hear how broken Soonyoung is and it broke him.

"But you didn't know."

Soonyoung flinched, Seungcheol waited.

"I thought it was normal like how other animals eat other animals, I was so foolish to even think that. I should've had my doubts, if only I thought about it more, I would realize like rabbits that wouldn't eat meat there should've been a human that doesn't eat human meat. No, it's my fault for even thinking that all humans are the same like us. It's my fault for thiking it was normal, we're not normal after all we're mo-"

"Shhh, no you're not. Please stop thinking like that, please Soonyoung. I beg you, don't hurt yourself ."

Soonyoung finally burst in tears and Seungcheol couldn't help but join him, they both cried whole heartedly, they cried until the both of them fell asleep. 

"I'm Lee Jihoon here to visit the clumsy airhead idiot teenager in this area."

It was not the same memories like the others, he was not a seven years old kid in those memories. He was finally a teenager, his teenage self glare at Jihoon. 

"Why do you need to always visit me with those same introductions and insults?"

Jihoon suddenly smirks, which just makes him more irritated than before. 

"Just making sure you didn't became more stupid than before."

"You really love irritating me, don't you?"

Jihoon's smirks suddenly change into a smile, a smile that feels that there's something more.

"Oh well, today I'm just here to give a warning. Tell my dear brother that our other brothers is near, be careful and."

The man once again looked at him teasingly that irked him more. 

"Protect the clumsy airhead idiot."

"You-"

Jihoon smiled sincerely, which made him stop what he was saying. 

"You're really an idiot, aren't you?"

Suddenly the surroundings changed, it was his old room in his home. Seungcheol glared at Jihoon who was just watching him amused. 

"What are you doing here? Trying to stop me?" 

Jihoon just laughed at his misery which made him more angry than before. 

"I know that you are an idiot but I didn't know to this extent, really? Trying to run by jumping in the window? What, are you some princess in Disney movies? Can you think of a much better plan?"

"What can I do? Your very deeaar brothers surrounding my house there's no other choice but to jump in my window."

Jihoon once again laughed at him, he really wanted to punch the guy but he knew too well not to fight him. 

"Sorry to say this to you, but your plan of running away will just fail if you continue it. You're a clumsy airhead idiot so you're bound to have an accident when you jump which concludes with my brothers finding you.  Too bad you don't have a prince charming waiting for you below to catch you."

"Are you here to bash me or stop me? Can you just stop insulting me, even for once? "

"It's neither of the two, I'm here to help you."

Seungcheol scoffed at the guy. 

"Huh, as if that's true. I'm sure you're trying to fool me, after all you can't just betray your brothers after all "YoU hAd OnLy EaCh OtHeR." so stop fooling me and just do your original business.``

Jihoon smiled at him, it was a smile that he just sees once in a while. It was a smile that hid everything, it made him startle. 

"It was the truth that I only have my brothers in this world, it's also the truth that I want to help you. Because I wanted you to be free and happy. I want you to stop from shackling yourself to us. "

"You really do love me."

"And yes I do."

"Then do you want to run away with me?"

Jihoon was startled by his sudden question, but he thought it was the right thing to ask. Jihoon once again smiled at him but the pain in those smiles was clear. 

"I couldn't just abandon my brothers, like I said we only had each other."

"And I will have no one."

"You will soon, your kind Seungcheol and I'm sure you will also meet kind people in your life. You will not be alone, I'm sure of that."

Jihoon playfully patted his head which made him grumble. 

"I'll help you escape when they finally erase your memories, it's much better for you to forget all these horrible memories and live a peaceful life. I'll protect you in the shadows so make sure you don't make trouble or my brothers will definitely find you."

He tried to look at Jihoon's expression but the hand of Jihoon in his head stopped him. 

"I wish we never crossed paths again."

He finally opened his eyes and he felt the tears on his eyes. 

"I don't know if you're having a nice or bad dream, you were crying while smiling. Perhaps you became crazy because of what's all happening?"

He looked to the source of the voice and he saw Jihoon in the window. He couldn't properly see his face in the darkness of the room but he was so sure that the man was smirking at him based on his tone. 

"Are you a foe or a friend?"

He asked, he thought the sudden question would startle the man but his appearance remained calm. 

"It is your choice to choose what I am to you."

His voice was so calm, it didn't have any other emotion. 

"Why are you not the one who told me the truth? Why did you fool Soonyoung and let me find out the truth?"

"Because there's no eye watching him move, because Soonyoung was innocent and oblivious that my brother was so sure he wouldn't do anything to ruin any of their plans."

"That's why you fooled him?"

He couldn't hide the pain in his voice, he felt so bad for Soonyoung he felt like the man was taken advantage, all this time. 

"He needed to find the truth, but my brothers will just always block me. They will once again erase his memories, saying it was for him. Saying he doesn't need to remember those bad memories, saying it's for his own good. But he needed to grow, he needed to choose his own decision not influenced by others."

Seungcheol finally smiled, it made him finally see how much the brother's love each other. 

"What are you smiling for? Are you trusting me again? This is why you keep getting betrayed and hurt, you know?"

Jihoon mockingly said to him but Seungcheol just continued to smile at him, because he knew, he finally knew the truth. 

"Yes I do fully trust you now."

The moon finally showed itself the reason why he finally saw Jihoon's face. 

"You're the first love after all."

Chapter Text

Seungcheol is so convinced that the brothers just love to mess with him, after the full chaotic day the brothers once again leave him alone for a few days. Jihoon didn’t even visit him, after what he told the man, he saw how red his face became then he suddenly pulled a sleeping Soonyoung, he didn’t even bother to carry his brother he just pulled the poor man to the floor. Jihoon didn’t even dare to look back at him even after how many times he called for him, he wanted to tease the man more because it felt so new and at the same time felt familiar to him. It brings him back to his old ordinary life. 

But maybe the karma loves Jihoon because after his few peaceful days the brothers have once again started reminding him of their existence.  He looked at Hansol who is now currently at his room and has been preparing to cook something for him. He's started eating once again, he even made sure that the one he's eating is just porridge or vegetables and it was prepared by Seokmin or Soonyoung (because Jihoon still refused to even cook for him based on what Soonyoung told him).

Hansol just suddenly entered his room with his cooking utensil and foldable cooking stove. It was nice and good until the man brought out the ingredients that just made him immediately stand up and run beside the man.

“Hey, what do you think you're doing?”

Seungcheol asked nervously while looking at Hansol’s hand, the guy looked at him innocently as if there’s nothing wrong.

“A chicken?”

“And what do you plan to do with that chicken?”

“Cook it?”

Seungcheol almost facepalm, almost because the door violently opened and showed Seungkwan with a look of horror on his face.

“CHOI HANSOL.”

Seungkwan shouted and never Seungcheol thought he would actually hear how high his voice was, he almost became deaf if it was not because of the quick action of Hansol. Almost as if he knew what Seungkwan would do, he immediately covered his ears which saved his poor eardrums.

“Yes, that’s me. Also will you please stop shouting like that? You know we also have Seungcheol here who is not immune to your voice.”

“I would not do that in the first place if you would stop doing things like this.”

“What things? I’m not even starting cooking and you know I could also be a proper cook, right?”

“Yeah, I know. But what I’m talking about is doing things without thinking of the consequences, are you really planning on traumatizing Seungcheol again?”

“And watching me cook would make him traumatized?”

“It’s not that, do you really plan to kill that chicken in front of Seungcheol? Are you for real?”

Hansol immediately looked at the chicken on his hand then at Seungcheol then back at Seungkwan.

“Oh.”

Seungcheol could see the lightbulb when Hansol finally realized on what’s happening, Seungkwan just made an exasperated sigh.

“This is the reason why I couldn’t leave you alone.”

“But I’m stronger than you.”

“That’s not what I’m talking about.”

“Why have I never been right on what you're talking about?”

“I also wonder why.”

The two suddenly stop when they hear a crunching sound. When they look at the source of the sound they find Seungcheol eating a popcorn while watching them, wait where that popcorn came from?

“Soonyoung was here and gave this to me, go on, just continue your bickering. It made me realize once again that you are really a human and not some cruel vampire.”

Hansol and Seungkwan's expression suddenly became serious and took a deep bow in front of Seungcheol which suddenly startled the man.

“We have no excuse but we are really sorry for what we did.”

The two said at the same time, it was already a few days ago when he saw his memories together with Hansol and Seungkwan. The two were also together with other brothers on fooling him but what's different in those memories are their eyes. Their eyes were always full of guilt and distress especially when they saw him together with Soonyoung which now leaves him a question. 

“Can you just answer this one question, what really happened with Soonyoung? There’s no doubt that all of you indeed cherish each other but if all of you were on this plan why Soonyoung was an exception?”

The two stood straight and looked at each other, Seungkwan took a sigh before he finally started talking.

“All of us had a really tough time during the experiments but I think the one who had a lot of damage was Soonyoung hyung.”

“It was not just physical, it was also both mental and emotional damage and we even failed to see the signs of it.”

“We just finally noticed it when he was already beyond repair, and we always regret not taking more attention to him.”

Hansol noticed the shaking hand of Seungkwan, he took his hand and squeezed it tightly as if to reassure the man that he was there and everything was going to be okay.

“When the experiments were finally finished we tried to go back to our home. We were gone for so long that the family members that we remember were already gone when we came back. Still we tried to connect with the family members that we have left, but because of the side effects of the experiments we had no other choice but to leave them again.”

“It was for their safety, and we never regretted it, it was just that we became too lost to our own problems that we noticed it too late that we lost our contact with Soonyoung hyung. We are gor worried because he's not the type of person that will suddenly disappear without saying anything and when we finally found him, he was-”

Seungkwan suddenly burst into tears that startled Seungcheol, Hansol comforted the guy but continued what Seungkwan was trying to say.

“He was in the middle of the town, tied to one of the poles, he was full of dirt and it looked like the people just finished trying to burn him alive. It disgusted us when we saw the hyung that always made us smile and laugh during our tough time to look so lost and out of life.”

“We-we found out using Wonwoo hyung ability that he tried to endure his hunger until he lost of control and that he-he almost killed one of his relatives, he succeed on stopping himself before he could do any more harm but while he was lost of guilt the town people immediately capture him and was tortured for weeks.”

“We, he tried to be okay after that but the damage was too much that Wonwoo hyung needed to erase all of his memories, all of it.  We became a monster to everyone, that's why we decided to live in the shadows to protect ourselves from being hurt once again.”

“That’s how we become blinded by your kindness, it was the first time after living in the dark for so many centuries that we once again finally saw the sun in our endless night.”

“The reason why so many of us are so afraid to be abandoned once again.”

A new voice suddenly joined them and the three of them looked at the door and there, they saw Wonwoo standing there looking at them.

“We became too blinded that even though we knew it was wrong of us we still did it because after all if you stay long enough in the desert and you finally escaped it you will do everything to not be back in the same place again.”

Wonwoo approached him and gave him one of the books that he always loved when he was a kid.

“Mingyu knows you love it so he fetched it in your old home, he said to tell you he was sorry for scaring you like that and it was never his intention to make you cry like that.”

Wonwoo looked at Hansol and Seungkwan and took a sigh.

“At this rate Seungcheol will start eating for dinner and not for breakfast, good thing I decided to monitor you.”

Seungkwan made an exaggerated gasp while Hansol just once again continued preparing for the food.

“You will just monitor us, you wouldn’t even help us cook?”

Wonwoo just sitted in one of the nearby seats and looked at Seungkwan with his deadpan face.

“Well you were the one who volunteered to cook, I only volunteer to watch you and not to help you.”

Seungkwan was about to throw a punch to the guy when Hansol whispered something to him but it looks like the guy also wanted the rest of them to hear it.

“Don’t try to, you know how he surpasses you with his strength and even if I help you fight him we both know that he has a very big wall on his back.”

Seungkwan suddenly smirks playfully on what Hansol said.

“Ah right he has a veeeeery big wall.”

“If the two of you won’t start cooking, maybe I would call that very big wall that you both are talking about.”

The two immediately started cooking after that and Wonwoo took a sigh.

“Seungcheoool, where are you?”

They have been playing hide and seek for a while but Hansol and Seungkwan haven't succeeded in finding him which made him giggle.

“They will find you if you start making a noise.”

He was startled to suddenly hear a voice behind him. He almost made a loud noise, good thing the man covered his mouth before he could even escape a sound, he looked at the owner of the hand and he saw Wonwoo.

“I just gave you a warning and you're already failing it.”

Seungcheol made a soft giggle which led the two to his location.

“Ah Wonwoo hyung, so you're the reason why we can’t find him.”

Seungkwan whined at them and he suddenly felt himself levitate, Wonwoo was already carrying him.

“Don’t blame yourself for your lackness.”

Wonwoo starts running after saying it.

“HEY HYUNG! WHERE DID YOU THINK GOING? THIS IS HIDE AND SEEK NOT A TAG.”

The two of them laugh when they hear Seungkwan complain, for the whole day that day they just play with each other. That is why when they came back to his home his grandmother scolded the four of them but they couldn’t help but keep smiling even though his grandma was fuming in anger.

If they could only ignore other things they could be normally happy, but they were not normal at all but at the same time he wondered if being normal is the one thing that could bring happiness? Now that his looking to the three brother’s in front of him who have playful bickering made him realize they could also live a normal and peaceful life, Seungcheol was indeed betrayed, he was indeed angry at all of them. But now he's starting to feel something new with these brothers and he doesn’t know if it’s healthy at all.

It felt like it was already years since he slept so peacefully, it was the first time that he slept without having any nightmares. When he opens his eyes, what welcomes him is Minghao and Junhui who are currently cleaning his room, he slowly gets up. Junhui noticed him and gave him a warm smile. 

"Good morning Seungcheol, it looks like you had a good sleep."

"Oh stop the warm act we both know he is still mad at us, even how many times we try "

Junhui just gave Minghao a disapproving look while the other guy just ignored him. Junhui just took a sigh and once again looked at him. 

"Sorry about that, he's what you call a tsundere so please don't mind him. "

Minghao was about to complain but Junhui just interrupted him.

"I'm glad that Wonwoo's idea works."

That just piqued his curiosity and it looks like Junhui notices it. 

"Wonwoo thought that maybe if he modified your memories during your sleep you won't have the same nightmare over and over again."

"Of course he could just easily erase your memories but he knew you will get mad again if he ever tried that so he just picked the hardest way, which means he will sacrifice his sleep."

"Hao will you stop your bratty attitude, I know you're mad at me for not wearing the clothes you made but you know it's too revealing for me."

"Too revealing? It would be a sin to hide those perfect figures you nincompoop."

Junhui's face immediately became red because of that and it looks like that just made Minghao's annoyed mood disappear. The man looked at him and for the first time that morning gave him a sweet smile. 

"Now, now you're hungry right? Just wait and watch there, we will prepare your breakfast."

Seungcheol nervously gulps at that, he doesn't know if he's ready to see Junhui once again with a knife because the memory still keeps hunting him, especially on his dream. It looks like the two notice it. 

"We have something to confess."

And it looks like he already had a trauma because he felt a headache coming to him. 

"Don't worry it's not too big a deal."

"Hao, please."

"What?"

"Nevermind."

Junhui looked at him and gave him a gentle smile. 

"The truth is you never ate human meat."

He was so sure a big question mark suddenly appeared in his head. 

"Minghao always switch your food ever since, no one in my brothers knew this except the two of us and of course the mastermind of this."

"Which is the king of sneakiness, Lee Jihoon."

"You know that even if it's you he will still get mad at you for calling him like that right?"

Minghao silently continued cooking, Junhui once again took a sigh. 

"But what about what I saw?"

"It was the true process of us cooking for our meal but it was a plan to show you and made Soonyoung realize the truth."

"Which is also planned by our oh so great king."

Suddenly they heard a loud thunder that made Minghao once again focus on what he was cooking. 

"I told you, he would be mad."

"Wait wait, I love this calming atmosphere that we had especially I could see the two of you joking with each other but are you for real?"

"Yeah, for real."

"I thought all of you were loyal to each other but how could the two of you betray your brothers? Well I know the reason for Jihoon, but what about you?"

It was so confusing for Seungcheol, like how his life changed when he finally saw the whole truth. It felt like his life once again turned upside down because of what he discovered. Junhui's smile never falters on his face, Minghao just keeps on cooking. 

"Because everyone has their own will, and we are all free to choose what we want to do. We indeed betray our brothers but it was also for their own good, we have been confined in our safe close world that we just assume that what we believe was right was right for everyone."

"We have already forgotten that each individual has their own meaning of right, we just finally remember it when we met you and we are both grateful for that. So we decide to take your side, but it doesn't mean we are abandoning our brother. They are the only ones we had after all . "

Seungcheol's expression suddenly changed, he wanted to just ignore this particular memory that came back to him but it looks like this can't be ignored anymore. 

"When I was a child I once heard the two of you talking to each other and I heard one of you said "I never regretted volunteering for the experiment."  I wanted to ignore it but now I want the answers, what's the deal with the both of you?"

Looks like Minghao and Junhui didn't know that Seungcheol knew this because he saw how the two were caught off guard, it was Minghao who regained his composure.

"This is the reason why danger loves you, you keep poking your nose to other businesses."

Minghao took a sigh, he slowly held Junhui's hand and squeezed it because of it the man finally came back to his senses.

"I didn't know someone would know this story."

The two look at each other for a while, then once again look at Seungcheol. 

"We were both orphans before the experiment, we had no one on our side. I was abandoned by my parents while Minghao's parents died of a disease, even the relatives that we have left turn their back on us. "

"I heard the experiments of one of the adults in some alley while Junhui was approached by one of the assistants, we both met in the facility and we both learned our similarities."

"We both accepted for the same reason, we are tired of being alone and just slowly waiting for our death. If we will die then why not join some experiment, and maybe our short life will finally have some meaning we have been searching for."

"But when we met each other we finally had someone, but we knew we would never complete each other because we're too broken to even complete one. We knew that even if we tried to heal each other's wounds it would just be pointless. But we met the others, and finally."

"Finally we had someone we could call a family, finally we found our home . We know how evil we are to be thankful for their own misery but if we never met them."

Both of them smiled, and he felt a tinge of pain in his heart. Because he could see how happy they were but their happiness failed to hide their guilt. 

"We will never know what happiness is."

Seungcheol was once again alone in his room, after they're conversation they waited for the food to be ready and they started eating in silence. The two didn't stay longer after that, now Seungcheol was left wondering in his room. In the past few days whenever he was alone he would think where everything starts wrong, he would think if someone will even save him in this cage. Now the question was replaced with the question: what's the real problem here? Can someone even save all of them? 

He was just contemplating when he heard a loud noise outside, he immediately stood up. He first sensed the surroundings and when he heard the sounds of explosion he just let his body dictate his next action. He immediately runs outside, if the panic and worry is not just in the command of his brain he would first think why the door is not locked or why there's no one outside of his room. 

But the fact that he just easily left his room just made him more worried, he ran and looked at anyone. He look for Seokmin, Soonyoung, Jihoon, even that Jishit (he was still mad at the man, he would just remember to apologize to the man if he ever forgive him), even those he could not still fully trust Mingyu, Hansol, Seungkwan, Wonwoo, Minghao, Junhui and that guy that have the audacity to lock him. 

But all of the siblings was nowhere to found, he worry just double when he heard another explosion and like other idiot main character that looks like just really love to have a death flag he follow the source of the sound, hoping that maybe the brothers were there but unlike his worry, he was hoping that he will see all of them safe and sound. 

What he saw was Chan, Hansol, Seungkwan, and Seokmin lying on the floor, unconscious. He saw Jihoon, Minghao, Soonyoung, and Mingyu barely on their knees, bleeding. The only one standing was Junhui, Wonwoo and Jisoo, but they were also full of injuries. If he did not just see how the brother's injuries were starting to heal he may already run to them, but there's still one person missing. 

"WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE?!"

He looked at Junhui and the man was looking at him between worry and anger. 

"I HEARD AN EXPLOSION!"

"AND THE NEXT THING YOU DO, WAS TO FOLLOW THE SOURCE OF IT?! WHAT KIND OF AIRHEAD YOU ARE?!"

"AIRHEAD IS TOO MILD TO DESCRIBE HIM, HIS AN IDIOT!"

"STOP SHOUTING YOU SHITHEADS!"

The four of them immediately stopped when Jihoon shouted at them, he could see that Soonyoung was chuckling but it was obvious that he was still in pain. He wanted to run to them but before he could, Junhui stopped him. 

"Don't, it's not safe here. Go back to your room, lock it and make sure you don't open it to anyone."

He was about to ask what was happening when there was another explosion and he finally found the source of it. He was frightened by what he saw, he saw Jeonghan with his glowing red eyes but it was not the reason why he could fear all over his body. Jeonghan's body was full of strange pattern marks, it also looks like Jeonghan is not in his right self. 

"Wha-what happened?"

"It's the vampire phase, we lost control of all of our reasoning, we became a mindless monster during the phase."

"But this won't happen if he just doesn't stop consuming human blood and flesh."

Seungcheol looks at Jisoo who is looking at his twin full of concern. 

"He stops?"

He looked at his surroundings, he looked at everyone but they all refused to look at him and it finally clicked to him, this all happened because of him . A sudden flash of memory floods him, it's all of the memory of the siblings being chased away and abandoned once they found what the brothers are, he saw how the brothers tried their best to live with other humans. He saw how the brother once trusted the humans but they were betrayed and chased away. He saw how all the brothers did their best just to have their life once again. He especially sees how Jeonghan the oldest tries his best to protect all of his siblings.

It feels like his head was splitting into two, he doesn't even know why the memories of the brothers flashing through him. Maybe Wonwoo is also losing control of his powers or maybe the guy wanted him to see it, he really doesn't know.  But when he looked at Jeonghan, it felt like the man was crying. He could see how much the guy was in pain, once again he let his body dictate his actions. 

He heard the other brothers shouting his name, but he ignored all of it. He just runs to Jeonghan and when the guy is finally on his reach, he immediately hugs him. He was expecting to have some injury while approaching the man but as if Jeonghan recognized him no attacks hit him. 

Jeonghan's mark slowly faded, and finally he could see the pain in his eye. When the other brothers notice it they immediately run to Jeonghan and take him away, he looks at his surroundings. He looked at the brothers and the exhaustion in their eyes finally revealed, he knew the next thing he would do is not the right thing. 

He knew if his other friends found it they would scold him for making a decision, he knew this is not the right decision. He knew other people would judge his decision but if this the only thing to have the peace they all want, if this the only way so they could finally be happy, if this the only way to make the brothers feel alive once again after living so many years. Then he would do it and afterall he is a really stubborn guy, so he pulled the brothers into a hug. 

"I'll stay with you."

He would do everything to make everyone happy, if no one is willing to save them then he would be the hero of this story. He finally decided how twisted it may be. He would make sure it would be a happy ending, even if it was a twisted ending. 

Chapter Text

"I'm sorry."

Seungcheol was alone in his room when the brothers told him to stay there for a while before they made sure that Jeonghan was indeed not on his vampire phase anymore and while they were fixing the damages in the house when he suddenly heard a knock. When he opened the door Jisoo immediately said those words that made him startled.

"I said I'm sorry."

Jisoo repeated, Seungcheol stood there with a bewildered expression and the man just took a sigh.

"I know it is weird and I know I don't sound sorry at all because I am not."

Seungcheol finally came back because of it, he couldn't help but raise a questioning look at the man.

"Then you don't need to say it if you don't want it."

He firmly said and he could see how the man wanted to say something but it looked like he was stopping himself from something.

"The definition of apology to me is for doing something wrong and regretting it, but I am a man who always makes sure that I won't do anything I will regret. Although I am impressed by your decision, that's why I thought an apology was needed."

It was Seungcheol's turn to take a sigh now.

"You know, you have a really twisted personality. Instead of saying sorry that did not come from your heart, maybe you should say your gratitude instead."

For a while there was a silence between the two of them and Jisoo looked at him for a while before furiously blushing.

"Ah yes, I mixed up. I was saying thank you not sorry."

Mixed up? Seungcheol looked at Jisoo for a while before concluding. 

"Wait, don't tell me you never said thank you before? Are you for real?"

Jisoo's face became red, and suddenly the man pushed him a basket full of fruits.

"You can eat it first while we are preparing the food, don't worry there won't be any human flesh in there."

Said the man before he finally vanished, and finally Seungcheol understood what Jisoo is.

"An awkward sharp mouthed tsundere."

He looked beside him and there he saw Jeonghan who looks perfectly fine now.

"Don't worry my brothers made sure I am clear before allowing me to visit you."

Jeonghan smiled at him, and it was the first time he saw the man smile. He never noticed how beautiful the man was but now it became clearer to him.

"I know my twin has said many harsh things to you but it's just him being overprotective to us, he tends to be harsh when it's us that is being hurt and I know how unfair it was for you but believe me Jisoo knows it too."

Jeonghan looked at the corridor where Jisoo vanished and smiled sadly.

"It's just that if he would choose a side he would always choose us, he was frustrated in our situation to the point he unfairly pointed his anger to you. I know he's sorry for that but he's just a really stubborn man that I'm sure, he would never admit it even on his deathbed."

Jeonghan looked at him and gave him a sincere smile.

"So on behalf of my twin, I'm sorry for his action and I'm sorry for earlier."

Jeonghan took a deep bow and Seungcheol just stood and stared.

"Also I'm really flattered that you think I'm beautiful."

Now that just made him blush and now that he looked closely he could see how red Jeonghan's ear was. Jeonghan finally stood straight and looked at him, he could see how hard the man was trying to remain his composure but his blushing face was betraying his effort.

"I know this road that you choose will be a thorny one especially with us, but I'll try. We'll try to fix ourselves, we all know how broken we are, we all know how toxic this relationship will be. But we'll try to be better, we'll try to be deserving of your choice. "

Seungcheol smiled at that.

"And I'll try to be there watching you guys."

"And will the two of you stop flirting?"

The two were startled by another voice and when they looked at the source of it, they saw Jihoon with a disappointed look.

"I thought you will just apologise then you will come back and help us fix YOUR OWN mess. I didn't know you would apologize then start flirting, I didn't know I have such an irresponsible brother."

"I was about to go back you know, look I'm leaving already. See you later, Cheol."

And like that he was left with Jihoon that was surrounded with his dark aura.

"You are really an idiot."

He was expecting this to happen, he looked at Jihoon and he could clearly see how unhappy the man was.

"You could easily run away from the commotion, and don't you try to say something like "but you will just easily find me." becsuse you do know I could help you hide from my brothers but like an idiot you run to the very head of danger and stupidly decide to sta- hey what do you think your doing you freaking idiot? "

Seungcheol suddenly hugged the man and the said man was pushing him away but that just made him hug the man more tightly.

"You know for once I would appreciate it if you would tell me that I made the right decision."

"And how I could say it when all you do is dumb decision, we are freaking broken with a freaking powers and what's worse of it we know it. We think that your kindness could fix us but we both know that-"

"That maybe all of you just need to have someone who will stay with you and believe in all of you, Jihoon. I know this is not the smartest way but I want to. I want to finally free you from your own cage, I want to finally see all of you happy. I want to finally hear all of you laugh that came from your heart."

Jihoon looked at him disapprovingly.

"And I manage to love you when you're an idiot like this?"

Seungcheol smiled widely at that.

"Let's be honest, Hoonie, you fell for my looks."

Jihoon just shook his head.

 "I guess I'm attracted to ugly people."

"HEY!"

Jihoon just left Seungcheol protesting that it was rude of him and his not ugly.

Seungcheol decides to visit the other brothers that's not yet recovered while waiting, although he is so sure that the other brothers will scold him for leaving his room while everything is not yet fixed. He looks at each corridor he will pass and he only notices now how big the damage was, there's a lot of debris scattered around. 

He finally arrived at the infirmary that Soonyoung said to him earlier, where his other brothers who were badly injured were staying, he softly knocked and waited for someone to open the door. When the door finally opened, what welcomed him was a warm hug. 

"Seungcheol."

It was Chan and the man was trembling in his hold, he immediately reciprocated the hug and patted him gently.

"I won't go anywhere now Chan, don't worry."

Chan pulled away and looked at him for a while before bursting into tears. 

"I'm so sorry, I scared you last time didn't I?"

He just shook his head but Chan gently touched his face. 

"Oh Seungcheol, how could you be so kind to us when all we did was to hurt you?"

"Oh Chan, how could you be so dramatic while blocking the entrance?"

"You know you could just let Seungcheol in before harassing him, don't you?"

The two looked at the sources of the voice and there they saw Seungkwan and Hansol looking at them with a blank look but Seungcheol could clearly see sulking in their faces.

"Oh stop being so jealous."

"Sharing is caring, my dearest brother."

The three looked at each other and Seungcheol could feel the cold atmosphere around them, he clapped his hand that made the brother's staring contest break. 

"I'm happy that all of you are now doing well, well enough to have your bickering back."

The three of them looked at each other before smiling at him. 

"Thank you for staying with us."

"We know that staying with us is not really the right and smart decision but still thank you for making such a reckless decision."

"We promise that we will make you happy and we will now stop hiding secrets from you and we will also make sure not to hurt you again."

"More like Jihoon hyung will kill us if we even dare to make you sad."

He laughed at that, he pulled the three into a group hug. 

"Let's all be happy, shall we?"

The three smiled at him. 

"Yeah, let's all be happy."

"I know this is late to ask but did my brothers allow you to be here?"

He looked at Hansol and smiled sheepishly.

"Let's not think about minor stuff and talk about our hobbies, ever since we met we never talk about normal things so let's start now."

He pulled the brothers and the others couldn't help but shake their heads. 

"Minor stuff? We would be in trouble because of you."

"It's too late to protest, he looks so focused on this talk."

"Who are you fooling, we all know we also want this."

"Hey stop chatting around yourself and let me join."

They were scolded for hours by none other than Lee Jihoon, it would continue until tomorrow if it's not because of Mingyu help they would still be kneeling in front of Jihoon. Mingyu called them telling them that the food was already ready and they should start eating before it got colder. 

When they finally arrived at the dining room he saw a feast on the table but he couldn't help but nervously swallow knowing there was human meat in there. Mingyu pulled his chair for him and he whispered a soft thank you before sitting down. He was looking at the food and he couldn't help but remember once again the scene he saw in the kitchen. 

"This is the first time that all of us will be eating together, so let's enjoy this moment and eat until we drop."

Soonyoung energetically said before they started eating, he didn't even notice that his hand was shaking while cutting the meat, he only noticed it when a gentle hand held him. He looked at the source of it and saw Junhui smiling reassuringly at him. 

"Don't worry it is pig meat, but it might taste different since it came to our own farm. If you have doubts we could cook something while you are watching."

He shook his head and smiled at the man. 

"You don't have to, I fully trust you now. Besides, I know now that you won't force me to eat something I don't want to."

They smiled at each other before they started eating, it tasted like the other meats that he first tried. If he didn't know better he would suspect that this is a human meat, he tried to savor the food but he couldn't help but notice that there's something wrong with the brothers. He stops eating and watches them. 

"Is there something wrong? Did you not like the food?"

Mingyu asked him worriedly, he shook his head and smiled at the man. 

"No, it was delicious."

"Then why did you stop eating?"

Seungcheol looked at Minghao. The man was still wearing his usual blank look but he couldn't help but notice the sweat on him, it was not even that hot in the room. It also looks like the siblings are having a hard time eating.

"Wai-what are you doing?"

The siblings were shocked when Seungcheol suddenly took a bite to the food in front of Junhui and when he took a bite it had the same taste as his food. 

"Are all of you eating what I am eating?"

With his question the three youngest immediately excused themselves and left the room while Seokmin and Soonyoung, who couldn't take it anymore, just vomited on the floor. Jeonghan, Jisoo, and Jihoon also left the room to follow the three youngest while Wonwoo and Mingyu were beside Seokmin and Soonyoung who kept vomiting.

"Sorry about this mess, we couldn't really stomach eating what we used to eat. This always happens every time we eat animal meat."

"Then why did you eat it if you knew this would happen?"

"Because we know you are still traumatized knowing that we eat human flesh, we are afraid that you will have trouble digesting your food watching us eating human flesh."

Seungcheol gently massages his temple, these brothers are really the source of his headache.

"Yes I'm not comfortable watching you guys eating a human flesh but do you think I could eat peacefully watching your face like you were being tortured?"

He took a deep sigh and looked at the brothers that's with him. 

"I know I wouldn't ever stomach watching you guys eating human flesh but I wouldn't ever be happy watching you guys suffering."

He smiled at them and it broke the brother's to see his beautiful smile that has a pain on it. 

"I know it would be a long journey but let's all take a slow step in this, okay?"

The brother's nodded at him and he gave him his gentle smile. 

"Or we could just let Wonwoo erase your memories again."

Seungcheol gave a threatening glare at Minghao who suggested it, the man immediately looked away and looked at Wonwoo. 

"I told you it's not a good idea."

"I didn't even suggest anything, don't put the blame on the others."

He just shook his head in Minghao's childishness.

"Now let's restart this dinner, cook your food and I'll be waiting for all of you here. Let's eat together properly this time."

The brother's had a hesitation in their face but it immediately vanished when Seungcheol pulled them and pushed them away.

"I said cook not stared into nothing, I know we are all hungry so hurry, at this rate we will eat dinner tomorrow morning."

The others just let Seungcheol push them away, after all even how strong or powerful they are,  they were too helpless with the man after all.

The weather  was so great that day, it was a clear day. The clouds decided to let the sun be seen, the heat of the sun was not that too strong to hurt their skin that is why they decided to have a picnic outside of the house. It was Soonyoung and Seokmin who picked the place and like Seungcheol expected it was the same hills where Soonyoung brought him,  they were having a blast while Soonyoung and Seokmin were having their old couple act in front of them. 

"Fun fact: did you know that before the experiment Soonyoung hyung and Seokmin hyung were childhood sweethearts, they are even betrothed."

Seungcheol was startled by the sudden voice beside him but he was much startled by what Seungkwan said to him, he looked at Seungkwan then to the two people in front of them and then back at Seungkwan. The man smirked at him and just nodded at him. 

"Hey Seungkwan stop trying to monopolize Seungcheol and join us here, the booseoksoon needed to be completed on such a beautiful day like this."

Seungkwan playfully rolls his eyes on that.

"Yeah right, the two of you will just bully me."

"What? When did we do that? We will never do that to our precious brother, you know?"

"Yeah, yeah stop accusing us Seungkwan."

"Right Seungkwan stop accusing them, you know they adore you right?"

"Oh come on Jeonghan hyung don't join them if you join them then-"

"Han is right, you know? We even adore you more than our original maknae."

"They're right, hyung, I couldn't even help but be jealous of that."

"Oh our poor maknae and then there is Seungkwan who just thinks badly of our affection."

"When did he even learn to act like this? Is this puberty?"

"Oh what a cruel puberty to snatch away our precious Seungkwan."

"I knew it, once Jeonghan hyung joined the teasing everyone will just join, why am I the one being targeted anyway?"

"Maybe because you sneakily tried to monopolize Seungcheol?"

"Oh come on Hansol and you're the only one I could count on."

Seungcheol just let his giggle be heard, the brothers were so adorable that he had a hard time stopping his laugh.

"Look, even Seungcheol is laughing at your misery."

"Oh come on, you even abandoned me? Am I not loved by this family anymore?"

They all laugh at how dramatic Seungkwan was while the man just continued whining at them, he looked at his surroundings and he could see pure joy in the siblings' eyes. This, this is the one he wants to protect. They all look normal, they even look like they never had any ugly past following them.

They were all having fun that they didn’t notice something coming, it happened so fast. One minute they were all with a smile on their face and the next minute the siblings were crying in pain. A lightning suddenly struck the brothers and the next thing they were all screaming for pain, it shocked Seungcheol enough to make him petrified on the spot. 

"Oh finally, I found all of you."

He slowly looked at the source of the voice and there he saw a man with a black hair and glowing red eyes, Seungcheol could feel his fear all over his body. 

"I didn't just manage to find the key but I also managed to find the runaway kitties."

His voice was full of danger, it felt like the danger itself manifested as a person. The man looked at him and smiled at him, it was not any smile that he had seen. He knew it was a smile full of evil. 

"Who would've thought that the family that I abandoned could help me someday, if I knew this would happen I would have let your family stay with me."

He shivers, this man. Is he a relative? Suddenly Jeonghan and Jisoo are in front of him standing protectively.

"Let's be honest here and stop the bullshit, it was a good thing that you left your family because after all you will use anything and anyone just for your damn experiment."

Seungcheol was never a naive man, he knew without even any clarification that this man in front of him is none other than the one behind the experiment , and what a bullshit fate. They are relatives? Does this mean that he shares the same blood line and genes with this cruel man? He felt a squeeze on his hand and when he looked at it he saw Jisoo with a serious expression.

"Don't be a fool Seungcheol you didn't share anything shit with this man, your whole family disowned him so he is not part of your family now. He is just a crazy man who has no one by his side."

"Oh my dear twin, don't be so cruel. There was a person who was by his side and the only person loved him, but he was just a bastard that he even hurt the only person who will ever love him."

The expression of the man suddenly turned grim, he could feel the tension in the whole place as if it was shaking. 

" She died because of you , she will be still alive if it's not because of you."

They could feel his anger in every word he said, Seungcheol could even feel himself tear up on how intense the presence of this man was. 

"Don't fool yourself Staz , you're the one who drove her to her death. She would still be alive if you were not just a greedy man."

The man named Staz laughs hysterically, they all just watch him unable to move even they're fingers. He stopped laughing and once again looked at them, Seungcheol suddenly felt something familiar when he saw his eyes full of pain, as if he's the one who was suffering.

"Oh well, you could just go greet my sister for me. You will die now, after all ."

Suddenly all of the brothers were in front of him, they were all standing protectively in front of him.

“Jihoon, take Seungcheol away and run. We will stall him enough not to follow you.”

Junhui's voice was full of authority as if making sure that there won’t be any hole for any argument, Jihoon looked for his brother for a while before taking Seungcheol.

“Wait, are we really leaving them? I know all of you are immortal but they will still hurt you know.”

Jihoon looked at Seungcheol and it was the first time he saw Jihoon make an expression like that, an expression as if all the hope in this world had already left them.

“You heard him, Seungcheol, he will kill us and he could do that because even how immortal we are, we are still the human that we once were.”

Seungcheol felt a cold sweat on his body, he didn't want to ask this but he didn't understand it, how could the man even kill them? Is it because he is the one who is behind the experiment? Is that why?

“Almost all living things have oxygen in their body, Seungcheol, almost everyone needs it. We also need it.”

Seungcheol looked at the sibling who is now fighting the man named Staz who had just a manic smirk on his face, he looked at Jihoon who was avoiding to look at the scene. Suddenly there was a flash of memories flooding him. It was too much as if his head was splitting into two.

“Seungcheol! Hey,  fuck what's happening?”

 Jihoon was shocked when he suddenly pulled away from the man, Jihoon looked at him. He smiled at the man even though he was still in pain, he slowly walked behind and Jihoon just watched him.

“HEY!”

Everyone looked at him, he almost wanted to laugh because everyone stopped what they were doing when he called them. He looked at each of their faces and all of them had a desperate look, he could see how hurt the siblings were. He lastly looked at Staz that has a blank expression on his face but he could clearly see how empty his eyes were. What a fool he was hoping that maybe all of them could be happy, what a foolishness of him thinking he could stay with them and have a peaceful and happy life. 

“With this no one wins.”

“SEUNGCHEOL!”

How could he even forget? What a shameless bastard he is, he smiles while a tear falls on his face. If he could wish, if he could want something. Then the only thing he wanted is for everyone to  be free from all of this suffering. The last thing he saw was the clear blue sky.

Chapter Text

This is a part of the story that has never been told, perhaps because for the brothers it was a very painful memory that is best to be forgotten. It was also the reason for the cruel experiment, how inhuman the experiment was it has a real reason why it all started. 

A long, long time ago there was a known family in a far away country. The family is believed to be a descendant of some God, there was also a belief that they were some royal blood. But it was all assumption, the truth is they are descendants of people who live in the lost city of troy and not just that they also inherited the so-called elixir blood. 

The living proof of that was the only daughter of the Blood family. But destiny always likes to play, like some cruel joke. The daughter was diagnosed with some rare disease which made her unable to go outside of their house. She has pale skin, it was pale like some sheet of paper. When the heat of the sun hit her it would always feel like she was being burnt by the fire.

She could easily get a nose bleed, also prone to scars, a little scratch and she will be bleeding. The poor lady would always be in pain, there was no cure for her disease, her rare blood type also made it impossible to come up with some medicine. The doctors at that time said that her blood was already toxicated because of her disease. 

That is why her oldest brother decided to be the one to make a cure for his poor sister. He went through many trials and errors before he came up with the idea of creating another species. If he couldn't cure his sister, why not just make her reborn to something new? The cruel experiments started with that reason. 

"And you were never happy with that."

Jeonghan said to the young lady who had a sad smile on her face. 

"I never wanted to live a better life where others are obviously being mistreated, no one deserves to suffer like that."

 Jeonghan took a sigh and look at the others who are currently smiling even though they just came back from a torturous experiment.

"You know when I first found out about your existence I really wanted to blame you for everything and to take revenge but now that I finally found you, I really wanted to have a long conversation with destiny."

The young lady laughed at that, it wasn't a forceful laugh, it was a sincere and gentle laugh. 

"Times like this made me remember that you're also a kid, whenever you are with your siblings you always act like a mother."

"Stop treating me like a child, you're just five years older than me."

"A five years is still five years."

The gentle and warm atmosphere around them suddenly changes, and the young lady's expression turns into something more serious.

"All of you, go back to your quarter's."

"And what about you?"

The young lady smiled at them. 

"Don't worry my brother will never hurt me, so all of you go back before he finds you."

Although the siblings were hesitating to leave the young lady they had no other choice but to follow her, because after all like she said they knew that Staz would never hurt his precious sister. 

The brother's finally found out how foolish they were, the very same day the young lady was summoned to finally be on the experiment even though it was not yet finished. They couldn't believe that a mad man would put his sister's life in danger. Well what exactly did they expect anyway? He was indeed a madman but they thought that maybe there is still something good about that man but now they finally realize that there’s no good thing left in that man.

“How could you even still smile after that?” 

The young lady sneakily visited them on the day she finally got out, all of the brothers were worried about her but when they saw her smiling face they couldn’t help but finally breathe but on the same they also wonder if the craziness is really in their blood. Because the young lady was acting as if nothing happened, as if she was not in some crazy and cruel experiment. 

“Or maybe you're not really in the experiment and that assistant is just bullshiting us?”

The young lady laughed at Seungkwan and that just made the brothers raise a questioning look.

"I am indeed in a tube that all of you were, also that assistant that you're talking about must be currently taking their punishment for talking about such confidential information."

The young lady calmly said to them. 

"Then how could you still smile so easily like that? Or are you perhaps a masochist?"

This time the laugh of the young lady was much louder than before, it made the siblings afraid that someone might find them. 

"I think she finally lost it."

Chan softly whispers which instantly earns him a punch on his side, the young lady finally stops laughing and looks at them, once again the never ending gentle smile of her was seen by them. 

"I'm just happy."

Minghao scoffed.

"Happy because you're finally cured?"

Junhui immediately kicked the man which just earned him a glare in the end, the young lady shook her head and her smile never faltered in her face. 

"I'm happy because finally I'm in the same boat as all of you."

It was so sincere, they could feel that the young lady meant what she said. They could feel how really happy she was even though she just finish a torture, she was even just came back from hell. 

"I guess Staz craziness was also in genes, huh?"

Minghao sarcastically said while the young lady just pouted with that. 

"Hey, that's rude."

The siblings just took a sigh, but the one with a more intimidating aura was Jihoon which the young lady had been avoiding to look at. 

"How many times we will tell you that the sin of your brother is not yours, stop taking the punishment that your brother should have."

The brothers silently stayed away from the two, even though Jihoon wasn't the oldest they knew better not to mess with the voice of reason. The young lady took a sigh as if she had already had this conversation before. 

"How many times should I tell you too that I was the main reason why this cruel experiment started? This would never happened if I was not just sick, this would never even happened if only I'm not b-"

"I will stop you there young lady."

They all looked at Hansol, it was the first time they heard him talk in such a threatening tone. It startled all of them, they could even feel the heavy atmosphere around them.

"Hansol, I know you don't mean any harm but you're starting to scare the young lady, even Seungkwan and Chan."

Like a magic Hansol finally snaps off and looks at his surroundings and like Wonwoo said the young lady's smile vanishes while Seungkwan and Chan, who never got along with each other, are now holding each other's hand. The man softly whispered an apology and the smile of the young lady once again came back. 

"Don't worry, I know you only meant good intentions and not harm."

Mingyu suddenly clapped his hand that distracted all of them.

“Now tell us what attribute you got?”

“Seriously, that's the distraction you came up with?”

“What? It’s exciting to talk about our each attribute, right? It feels like we are some kind of superhero.”

“A superhero who is caged.”

“Oh come on Hao, I’m trying to make a distraction here.”

“Okay the two of you stop fighting and let the young lady talk.”

The two stop their bickering when Junhui finally mediates between the two, the young lady just keeps on smiling and it makes the other sibling happy to see her smile never faltering.

“Well, I got all of your attributes-”

“Wait, what? All of them? Is that even fair?”

“Do you have a plan to finish her Soonyoung hyung?”

“Oh sorry I was shocked, hehe just continued what you were saying.”

“I got all of them but I also got a special attribute.”

“And there’s even an add on?”

“Hyung.”

“Okay this will be the last one, I promise.”

“What’s that attribute?”

The young lady smiled sheepishly.

“Weeeeell, that’s the secret that I won’t tell you.”

“Oh come on.”

The siblings said in sync and the young lady couldn’t help but laugh. It was a peaceful night even though they all knew what fate was waiting for all of them, all of them thought at that time to cherish each peaceful day and be happy without any complaint about it. Because after all they already saw hell so days like this were simply a heaven for all of them. 

Their peaceful days didn't last long, when Staz find out that the disease of his sister did not cure by the experiment he became more invested on his experiment that it led to much cruelty, the young lady wasn't happy knowing it but the brothers never failed to reassure her that it wasn't her fault at all. 

"You look deep in your thoughts again."

It was a starless night when the young lady decided to go outside and enjoy the evening breeze when Jisoo found her. 

"Hello there Jisoo."

"You're blaming yourself again, aren't you?"

The young lady gently smiles at the man before once again looking at the starless sky. 

"Do you want to know a secret?"

"No, I want to know what you were thinking."

"I didn't have any plan to tell anyone of you this, but let me tell you what my special attribute is."

"Don't ignore me."

"I could put a curse on someone that will last even after I'm gone. "

That made Jisoo silent, the young lady looked at him.

"And I already use it."

The young lady held his hand and squeezed it gently. 

"Leaving here will not guarantee that all of you will be happy like you used to be, but you will surely be free from my brother. You will face a lot of cruel challenges especially of the changes with your body but always remember this Jisoo, you all are still the same. What's inside you will never change, you might put in the time when you finally thought that all of you change and not the same person that you once thought but you will not."

Slowly the surroundings of Jisoo were starting to glow. 

"It might just be because of all of the things you face that will make you hide your true self but please, please don't lose hope because I know that there will be a time that you will find reason to be true to yourself once again."

The young lady hugged Jisoo for the last time. 

"Wha- hey what are you doing?"

"I plan to do this without any of you knowing, but here you are beside me. I guess destiny really hates me that much, huh. "

Jisoo was slowly disappearing and he knew what the young lady was doing, he looked at the young lady who had a sad smile on her face. 

"What about you?"

"My brother had no one, without me he would be nothing. So I'll stay with him, I'll stay until my last breath."

Jisoo shook his head, he didn't even notice the tears on his face. The young lady gently wiped it, and smiled for him for the last time. 

"Please take care of your brothers."

That was the last thing the young lady said to Jisoo before he finally vanished into the air, the young lady once again looked at the starless sky and cough harshly to the point of coughing blood, the young lady lose her consciousness, it was his brother who found her in the next day. Just like that her condition got worse and true to her words, the young lady stayed with her brother until her last breath. 

"Don't worry I'll take my sin even in my next life."

It was her dying words, she finally closed her eyes with her gentle and warm smile.

"Happy 7th Birthday Seungcheol."

When the young lady finally opened her eyes after a long time, it was in the body of a child. His memory of his past life came back to him on his seventh birthday and it looks like he is the favorite playmate of destiny because he was born in the family of their distant family. The destiny didn't even stop with that, they even let the people whom he wished to never cross a path again to be in this life too. 

They all met on his seventh birthday, he found out that when he helped the brothers escape in his brother's cage they all tried to go back to their past lives but all of them failed miserably.  When all of them were lost with their sorrow one of their distant relatives that knew the experiments found them and immediately helped them, to give back their gratitude the brothers made sure to watch the family for years and protected them from any harm. That's also the reason why they were there on his seventh birthday knowing that he inherited the same blood type, it was to protect him from any harm. 

He wanted to stay away from the brother's because he knew that he will just bring more pain and misfortune for them, but seeing their soulless eyes he couldn't help but approach them, when he saw the eyes of the brothers when he show them kindness he knew in that moment that instead of helping them he just made the situation worse. 

"Stella."

He couldn't help but look at the familiar name and he immediately regretted it when he found the person called him. 

"You're still the same, even in this life you're still as kind as ever."

He looked at Jihoon who was smiling at him but he could see how sad he was and when he saw that he immediately ran at him. He immediately hugged the man which the guy reciprocated.

"I have missed you, all of you."

Their hug was warm, it felt like they were in a winter for a long time and finally having the summer that they all wanted for. 

"You know the consequences of your action right? You just made the situation worse for my brothers."

"I would appreciate it if you could wait much later for the lecture, Hoonie."

Jihoon broke the hug and looked at him. 

"No, you need to know that you should put yourself first rather than us. You're not Stella anymore, your Seungcheol. You're not the sister of that cruel man, you are free now so stop patronizing us now."

He shook his head and smiled at the man. 

"The past never forgets Jihoon, even in this life I have carried my sin and I will atone it. I owe you and your brothers a big time and I wouldn't just forget it."

"Is that also the reason why you curse yourself?"

He was startled but it immediately vanished because this was Jihoon so of course he would find out. Because after all Jihoon knows everything, there's no secret that he could hide in this man.
