Letters to Dorothy

Summary:

Is Dorothy even a person? Is Dorothy an emotion? Is she a place? We don't know. She, however, seems to have her mailbox full of envelopes...

If a name "Olivia" popped randomly in your head just after you read the first sentence of this summary, you'll probably enjoy this correspondance. :)

Notes:

Hello everybody! :)

I really do hope that this work is a gray concrete box for an average person. But if you're here, you probably don't belong to that category. Let me know if you had the key to the secret garden that's inside of it! :)

PS:
English is not my first language, therefore: don't hesitate to contact me if you see anything odd in my writing, please, I'll be happy to correct it!

Thank you. :)

Chapter 1: Decorating

Chapter Text

Dear Dorothy!

I'm in front of an important decision and I believe that your advice could help me get over it quickly... After all, you're the one singing about rainbows and that's why I have to ask: What is your attitude towards colour mixing?

You see, personally, I do love blue. I also am pretty fond of green. But as I am currently decorating, I can't decide whether these two colours are better off alone, like: green in the kitchen, blue in the hallway - or together (mixed or in stripes or something), combined on all the walls, pillowcases etc. - you know?

It's an insanely hard decision, because blue and green seem to go quite well with other shades, however as a pair... I mean... AS A PAIR... there's just something about them that I can't explain, that draws my attention every time I look at them.

In your opinion, do they even match? Or is it just a trade strategy these days to claim that blue and green harmonise, when in reality, it was lastly true during the Middle Ages? ...If that.

Finally, don't you by chance have any experience with paint? I can't decide whether it's better to buy it in the Hobby Line store or from LE corbusier... It would be just great, if you had any sort of experience with either of these, so you could tell me which one I should lean towards.

Thanks a lot for any kind of notes considering the decorating

Sincerely,
