“Marinette Dupain-Cheng, here is the miraculous of the Snake, which grants the power of Second Chance. You will use it for the greater good. Once we succeed, you must return the Miraculous to me. Can I trust you?”
Marinette nodded, taking the box from Scarabella.
“I won’t fail you.”
The snake kwami looked up at her, “All you have to say is... "Sass, scales slither.”
“Sass, scales slither!”
The magic washed over her, leaving a superheroine in Marinette’s place.
Scarabella continued, “If anything goes wrong, the Second Chance allows you to go back in time to the exact moment you activated it.”
Marinette nodded. “Second chance!”
“Second chance!” Marinette screamed as Dakin’s ring was swiped by the akuma, revealing Nino in his place.
She didn’t have time to process the shock. Her friends needed Serpentina to be diligent and focused. So that’s what she would be.
“Second chance!”
This time Scarabella’s miraculous was taken.
“Second chance!”
“Second chance!”
“Second chance!”
Marinette growled in frustration. Nothing was working. Every time, the akuma would find a new way to beat them, and Marinette kept leading her friends to their demise.
She sighed, trying to refocus. Maybe there was something she hadn’t noticed before.
Her eyes darted around the scene, looking for something, anything.
Then she spotted the solution. She grinned.
“Second chance!”
