A Place of Our Own

Summary:

Summary: Powerful witch Wanda seeks a place where she can live freely with her dragon, Vision. A place where they belong. But it is hard to find a place to settle when a past that neither one can remember keeps dragging Wanda down. Is whatever life they had in the Before worth knowing? Or will it shatter what they worked so hard to build together?

One way or another the past is coming for them whether they want it or not.

Notes:

So for the tag of slight bestiality I have one scene with dragon Vision going down on Wanda it is not detailed but I am covering all bases. :)

I am very happy to finally get this story posted. Crematosis had quite the path getting to this day. I wish I could say that it got easier when I took on this story. But it didn't.

Those of you that read my stuff know that my major ships are Stucky and Thorki. I wasn't a fan of Wanda and Vision because their story was rushed (just like most of the MCU f/m matches) but I heard Wanda vision was good so I watched it. And thank god I did because I couldn't have done this story without seeing it. But enough of that.

This is based on art by Crematosis called A World of Our Own. Last chapter for art. Thank you to Call-me-kayyyyy for beta reading for us. It is for Marvel Reverse Big Bang 2021 for the TV Phase. Please enjoy.

(See the end of the work for more notes.)

Chapter Text

Wanda could hear the screaming jeers from the angry mob that was chasing her. They were driven and determined, but dying was not on her list of things to do. Not today, and not for a long long time to come. Years of living among people who were fearful of magic had taught her to be wary and made Wanda an expert at running for her life.

When the mob started lagging behind her, she took the opportunity to pause for a moment at a crossing point. To the right was a direct route to her goal, a cave that was created, hidden and warded by her own magic. If all was well her mate should be waiting for her there. Hopefully. But Wanda didn’t want to lead the mob straight to it yet, just in case he wasn't there.

The path to the left would lead towards the top of the mountains. It would eventually lead back to the Cave but it would take a few hours to do so.

A glance back to the mob showed they were starting to regroup. Their chants of “Burn the Witch” grew louder -- their second wind fueled by the fear that if they didn't kill her now then she would return to kill them all in retribution.

In a way Wanda couldn't blame them. She didn't have to tear the marauders apart the way she had. But her need to protect and the sudden memory of the past skewed her judgment.

Tearing her eyes away from the regrouping mob, Wanda threw her head to the sky. Narrowing her eyes as she searched. A second later she had made up her mind.

She darted to the left.

Wanda tried to keep her mind steady. Stay out of the past and focus on her escape. Wanda's power was an unyielding thing. Her thoughts strayed for a moment, to what she would do if the Town had captured her mate, causing Wanda to lose her footing and slip on the path. She felt the rocks cut into her palms and legs. Behind her the crowd cheered at her pain.

A wave of her magic rose fast within her, causing her eyes to water.

How dare they laugh at her pain after she saved them. They would have been dead right now if it wasn't for her. A voice from deep within, a dark thing that creeped out every now and then called to her, 'They still could be.'

Frowning, Wanda shook her head as she tugged her magic back to her, settling it down within.

She wasn't a monster.

Wanda could and would continue to be better. She somehow knew that she and her mate had fought the darkness during the Before. No matter what the ugly voice said, it was evident in how many times they had jumped to save others even if it meant they would have to go on the run once more.

Taking two more breaths, Wanda slowly stood up onto shaky legs, she could feel the trickle of blood on both her legs. Then she took off again. There would be time to rest later. Focused on what was ahead of her, Wanda pushed her magic into her muscles.

The trails through the mountains were not well traveled and hard to see to those who didn't know what to look for. But Wanda had been over them, as well as making a few new ones of her own.

It never hurt to have as many escape routes as possible.

Slowly the distance between her and the mob grew. Adding time with that their anger and desire to chase her lessened.

Wanda didn't slow down until the last human had given up and had gone back down the path in a disappointed trudge. Only then did she allow herself to stop. She stood on a mountain ledge watching the path below, a wild thing in her tattered dirty clothes and loose matted red locks covered in dried blood.

The mountain's terrain here was as wild as it was untouched. It would be a perfect place for her to spread her magic without fear of hurting anyone. Wanda was just about to do a spell when the memory from earlier hit her again.

The smoke burned both her eyes and throat. The screams of the dying and those who were being killed beat against the eardrums in a never ending song.

She had been young in the memory. Full of not only fear but a heavy sense of duty to protect and be strong for someone else.

Tucked up next to her was a boy smaller than her that was shivering beside her. His white hair though darkened with dirt and blood was familiar to Wanda. He cried for parents that never came while she sang softly to him. An ancient lullaby.

Wanda knew he had to be important to her.

A family member.

Her brother??

She came back to herself breathing hard, weary of all the power that she had spent in such a short time. She needed help.

She needed her mate.

Closing her eyes, Wanda reached her power out and into the Earth, feeling for what was around her. She smiled at only detecting the weak simple magic that wild animals carried. Satisfied, she tipped her head back to face the sky.

The sun's weak light gave her some comfort. She was alive to still feel it against her skin, which was something to be grateful for.

With a smile she reached through the air, through the bond in search of her lover. "Vis?" She questioned. Waiting with bated breath for a reply. She didn't have to wait too long. Vision never made her wait. The roar that filled the sky rumbled through the bond and down into her soul.

And Wanda welcomed it as she always had. She had never feared it.

"Wanda." Came the strong deep voice. "I will be with you shortly. Stay where you are.' Wanda let the words drift down into her and spread warmly into her tired limbs. She was so tired but she could hold on for a moment more. She needed to see with her own eyes that Vision was ok.

At the feel of the approaching magical presence Wanda fought to open her eyes. Ahead of her flying from the setting sun was a Dragon.

A sleek creature covered in purple and gray scales. Deep blue eyes old and wise yet young with love. On the Dragon's forehead was a simple yellow jem. It glowed with both its own power and from the power of their bond.

Wanda smiled as Vision circled above for a place to land. He descended nearby mindful of his size. His dragon form was massive compared to her small human one. When all four of his massive paws had thudded to the ground he shimmered with power as his form shrank into that of a human.

"Wanda, dear are you hurt?" He called, moving swiftly to her side. Wanda could feel his hands on her body as he checked her for injuries but her words stayed trapped in her throat.

Vision was alive and well. Not a scratch on him. He was safe and so was she.

The adrenaline that had been coursing through Wanda's veins for the last few hours dissipated like mist under the sun. "You're alive." She got out before her legs gave out, taking with it her sight. "I got you." Vision said softly before she completely blacked out.

Wanda opened her eyes slowly.

She had to blink a few times before she could actually see. When her vision cleared Wanda had to gasp at what she saw. She was standing on a gigantic cliff, below her a glorious battle was taking place.

There were black shadowy creatures with many heads and sharp teeth. All of the creatures had long claws that they were using to fight with a crazed sort of madness. But while they looked scary, those that fought against them were more impressive.

Dragons of all colors darted through the air sending down elements while figures on their backs rained down magic. A Dragon of dark blue with a white metal star on its head rose up next to her letting out a roar. There was a figure in red and gold with a blue star on his chest that stood on the Dragon's back. The figure yelled down to Wanda but she couldn't make out what was being said.

She watched the Dragon twist in the air before it flew down to the battle below. She knew they would be ok but would she be? Somehow she knew that she was going to have to go down there too.

"You ready Kid?" Came a deep voice to her left. Beside her was a man dressed in black leather. His features were stony with a frown cutting deep across his face but his blue eyes held a softness to them. He looked human except for the small red metal star on his forehead.

Every Dragon had one of some shape or color. In their human forms they could choose whether to show it or not. Wanda didn't respond aloud to the question but she began to shake. The Dragon looked at her, eyes narrowing. "I know you're scared but you are one of us. And being part of this team means there is no rest for us until the job is done. If you're not ready now that's fine but your time will come." His voice had softened as he talked to her.

When she remained still the Dragon held out a hand. "You trained with the best. And you got me this round. You'll be fine, kid." Wanda felt her nerves settling as she reached out. At the touch of their skin Wanda jerked awake.

She panted trying to suck in as much air as possible as her heart hammered against her chest. She didn't often remember the past in all the years they had been wandering. No matter how hard she tried. The only time Wanda could count on a memory coming was after an emotional ordeal. Like being chased out of a village.

Shaking the memory away, Wanda took in her appearance. She had been changed into clean underclothes and both her arms and legs had bandages on them.

After which she looked around the space she was in. She relaxed after realizing she was in their cave. A pocket world outside of space and time. This was where they housed their important things, her and Vision. The stuff that they couldn't live without if they needed to make a run for it. Even if it was just mismatched furniture and other things like food and cooking utensils. They were all important to her in their own way.

Wanda took in the state of it all, making a note to herself that she would need to move the door to the other-side of the mountain, away from the Town until they set out again. Shifting, she laid back against the pillows on the bed.

She was almost done scanning the room when her eyes fell on Vision. He had been sitting next to the fire, his blonde hair glowing in the fire light. There was a pot in his hands that he was pulling off of the heat.

When he saw that she was awake he quickly set it down on a small table. Then Vision stood up, popping his back and pulled a small basket closer to the fire before walking over with a cup. "Wanda here is some water." Vision had said softly as he sat down on the side of their bed, concern clear in his voice. "Thank you." She said taking the offered ceramic cup. It was one of the few items they had left from when Vision had tried his luck at being a potter. He had done decent work.

The memories of that sweet little coastal town brought a smile to her lips. It was where they had first kissed. At one of the weekly outdoor dances the town held. The couple next door to the Pottery shop had leant Wanda a dress with a matching suit. Both items had needed a little mending (and magic). But Wanda had found that mending had come easily to her. Under her careful hand and Vision's advice the red dress had come alive. Topped with a smart matching hat that was not only fashionable but kept the sun out of her eyes, Wanda had been one of the nicest looking women there.

She and Vision had danced until the sun went down and the stars came out. And Vision had told her, "You are the bravest and strongest person I have ever known". Wanda had replied back, "I am the only person you really know." She meant it as a joke but Vision had frowned and pulled her closer still. "Somethings you can never forget, Wanda. And this is one of them." He had tipped her head up and kissed her softly on the lips. And from that moment on Wanda had known she wanted more.

"You must be feeling better." Vision said, hope ringing within his voice. Wanda reached over, taking his hand in her own. "Yes thanks to you." She said, giving his hand a firm squeeze. "It was not a hardship." He said, then quickly added, "I made soup. Would you care for some." He was already pulling away from her to step away.

"No!!!" She came close to screaming. They both were shocked at her outburst. "I just don't want to be apart from you yet." She spoke calmer this time. Vision seemed to think it over before nodding. He stepped back into bed, laying down before pulling her to him face to face so that they could look at each other. "I am sorry this Town didn't work out." He murmured into her hair.

She was sorry too. The Town had worked so well for them up until now. Wanda was beginning to think it might finally be home. But now they were back in their cave, having to start over. Wanda startled at the touch of Vision's hand to her face. She hadn't realized that she had been crying. "We will find a place. And for now we are safe here. Together." Vision said reassuringly. Wanda knew that he could feel her pain through their bond.

She found the bond between Witch and Dragon to be interesting. They could share thoughts and feelings freely between each other. She knew that witches could form bonds between other creatures but the best bond was between a witch and dragon. That a bond between these two magical parties would bring each to their full power's potential. Wanda also knew now thanks to the Book that there were two types of bonds to be had.

One was temporary. It allowed for the exchange of minor thoughts and powers. A sort of a test trial to find the right fit. While the second was more intimate and permanent. From what she had read that witches and dragons that form the permanent bond were at the least lovers at the most mates. She couldn't remember her and Vision cementing the bond. It was one of the memories that was lost.

They had to start from scratch after they woke up. That had been slow going but worth it. Only recently did the memories start to come back, or at least Wanda's. She seemed to be the only one regaining them. With a glance over Vision's shoulder towards the fire she turned back to him, speaking softly, "I saw my brother." She watched the words settle in Vision.

His face twisting first into confusion and then into happiness. "You did? Can I see?" He asked. Vision was also trying to be helpful. He had told her that if he saw her memories too it might trigger something within him too. Help him get back what was lost too. Even if so far they were having no such luck.

Nodding her head yes she waited as he slipped a hand behind her head. He held his other hand at her waist. The yellow of his jewel glowed behind his skin as their bond flared to life. She let her eyes close as she replayed the scene for Vision. She only opened her eyes when he spoke. "He looks strong like you. I think he is still alive."

Wanda's eyes fluttered open. She hadn't realized that she had also been pushing her fears into the bond. "Sorry." She said as she started to pull away from the bond but Vision held her firmly when she went to turn her head. "Don't ever feel like you have to hide from me Wanda. There is nothing you could ever do that would make me run from you. As I hope that there is nothing to make you run from me." He said in his no-nonsense tone.

Wanda felt her eyes go wide. She hadn't meant to imply that. "I would never.." was all she got out before Vision had cut her off. "Good." He said before pulling her in with a kiss that teased with his love for her. She returned it right back at him but with twice as much passion.

...

It wasn't until later after they lay panting from their love making that Wanda realized that she had forgotten to tell Vision about her dreams of the battling dragons.

She thought about it but the energy that would be required to share such a big detailed memory and the long talk of it afterwards was too daunting. She would tell him soon. For now she rolled onto her side, cuddling close to Vision before letting her eyes drift shut again.

...

Wanda's first real solid thing she remembered was waking up washed up on some beach somewhere. It was just her and Vision. Neither of them had any memories of how they ended up there. The only thing they knew were each other's names. And all they had were the clothes on their back, a magical bond between them and a very powerful spell book. There wasn't even any wreckage to help them glean information from nor other survivors to question.

With nothing to gain from the beach they set off. From there they had been trying to find somewhere to belong. Or anyone that knew where they had come from. The Book they carried with them was unhelpful too or at least until the fire.

They had stumbled across an Inn a few days away from the beach. The Innkeeper had let them stay and eat in exchange for chores as payment. Sometime after the first week a drunk had knocked over a candle setting his room and most of the hotel on fire.

While standing on the lawn staring up at the blaze something had just clicked within both Wanda and Vision. Wanda's magic had come to her and did her bidding so easily. Vision had shifted into a dragon to carry empty barrels to the nearby river for water.

Their actions saved the people, as well as most of the Inn.

But as the Owner had said after handing them packs of food, water and spare clothes. "Magic is iffy in most parts. Some creatures are acceptable. But at the top of the feared and most dangerous list are Dragons and Witches. You both are going to need to hide your powers if you want to avoid getting on the radar of a Hunter."

So far they had been lucky in that their paths had not crossed with a Hunter yet.

It was probably a good thing that they kept getting kicked out of so many towns, Wanda thought with a sigh. Hunters were often traveling through small towns looking for prey and rest. They just always seemed to miss a Hunter when arriving at a new place.

Wanda continued down the dirt path. Beside her, she could feel Vision shifting his gaze to her. He was constantly worrying about her. She was human after all. But she was also a witch, and witches were powerful creatures. That and she had been reading the Book.

Over the years Wanda had slowly made her way through it. It was hard going since she didn't have any other teacher than herself. Some of the spells she just didn't understand. She would need another witch to teach her. She and Vision had come across another Witch once, Agatha. She had told them that Wanda's power levels should not be possible. And then Agatha had tried to kill them so needless to say they tried to stay away from others with magic ever since. It was better to be safe than sorry. Especially since neither Vision or her could remember what they had been before they washed up on the beach.

There was a slight pinch through the bond, one that Wanda was familiar with. It was Vision checking her vitals. At times it was useful like when she was injured and at others it could be fun. Like when Vision had her on the edge and was checking to see how much longer he could keep her there without orgasming before her heart would give out. But in this case it was just him motherhenning her.

If there was one thing that Wanda hated, it was being treated like she didn't know her own limits. "Vis," She started off slowly but stopped when she felt the embarrassment and guilt coming off of her mate. The rant that was on her tongue died away. Instead she said "I am good for a few more hours of walking." She felt him instantly relax. "If you are sure?" He asked, reaching for her hand. This was a compromise that they had come to.

She would give him a time or a goal and then Vision would keep her to it. Checking in later to reevaluate the situation. "Yes Dear." She replied back. And then handed him her pack. Vision perked up as he took it. He liked feeling useful even if the pack didn't hold very much. It was a change of clothes for herself, some money, as well as food and water for the day. Vision had his own pack. She of course could call forth the doorway to the cave but that much magic was best to save for when they were ready to camp for the night and when she would have time to rest.

For now the cave was tucked away outside of time where it was safe and sound. Even though the surrounding fog would be thick enough to hide the few minutes where the cave was visible she still didn't want to risk it. Not until Vision had checked from the sky and she had checked for all types of life. She wouldn't risk the Book as well as a few other more valuable treasures just for a chance of a little comfort. No matter how much she wanted to crawl into her bed and stay there.

"What kind of town should we look for next?" Vision asked, snapping her from her thoughts. Vis was getting better at topics. When they first started traveling he would often fill the time with small talk of the weather or what was around them.

Right now there was endless gray fog that pressed in all around them. It had been this way since they descended from the mountains and into the forest. It took a little while to find a well traveled and wide path. A few direction spells to make sure that they were not headed back to the Town they just escaped from and they were off.

As for what was to be seen, well the fog hid any animals from sight. Though the pair could hear them as they passed. The sharp cracks of dead branches and the whispers of leaves moving. They hadn't seen a human since they left the Town. But that wasn't unusual.

Most humans were born and died in the same place. There were of course Tradesmens that traveled and those who went in search of something more. But most people were content with what they had.

Wanda stared at the bases of the trees as they passed. They were like sleeping giants out here. Ancient and wise after having seen a great deal of things. She thought for a moment more before breaking the silence. "I think maybe in a big city. We have only stayed in two of those before."

The big cities were sights to behold. Centered around a castle where a Ruler would govern and provided services for the people who settled there. Like Soldiers to protect them from outside forces. A big city held plenty of places to work as well as places to stay and more than enough food to eat. It was easy to blend in there but it was harder to flee.

It was also where they had stayed the longest. The first big city they had to leave because War was coming. The second because the Ruler had seen Wanda and had sent the guards to bring her to the castle to be his wife. Something she had no interest in, no matter what he wanted to offer.

But those incidents were in the earlier years. Vision and her knew how to blend in more and how to attract certain types of attention. "I think that is a fine idea." Vision said after a moment.

They walked a few more paces before Vision spoke again. "And what job should we try this time around?" Over the years they had worked in a number of places and done a lot of things ranging from Bakers to Candlestick Makers. It also helped that when they took breaks between new locations it gave them time to look for rare things and store up on other materials. When they were assisting as Bakers they would add some of the herbs they found to their rolls. That item sold out every day that they had it on the menu.

But when they didn't do things that required herbology their stock piles would overflow. The last village they washed clothes. Offering up scented laundry but that didn't put a dent in their stores. Which meant they were going to have to do something about that soon. "I think we should do the Herbal shop again." Wanda voiced.

It was helping people and borderline magic. It was something they both enjoyed. Wanda could make the concoctions and Vision was an excellent salesman. "That sounds like a wonderful idea." Vision said in agreement.

They walked, spending the rest of the day talking of names for their shop. And all the items they could start making tonight. There was always a lot of excitement when it came to deciding on what they would do.

The evening even ended well. They found a Hot Spring not too far from the path. The warm water did wonders for all the aches and sore muscles. Vision even shifted to his dragon form. He had to do that from time to time. If he would stay too long in one form or the other it would affect his health. They had found that out the hard way when they had traveled by air in the beginning. If Vision was a dragon for too long he would start to lose his human side. With the help of the bond Wanda was able to talk him back to himself.

They had learned a lot over the years about themself and what to avoid. Often the hard way. But no matter how painful some of the things were, Wanda would not change it for the world. Not when she knew that there wasn't anywhere more safe or someone who could understand her better than Vision.

As she sat by the edge of the water watching Vision fly through the air so carefree she never felt more safe as she was now. Naked in the woods with no real home, all of that was meaningless in the shade of the bond and her mate.

Raising her hands into the air she called to Vision. Watching as he curved in the air moving swiftly towards her. With strong beats of his wings Vision steadied himself in the air coming to a complete stop. He eyed her for a moment with his dark red eyes then lowered his head down to her hands. He purred happily into her touch as she let her fingers skim across his scales. "I love you." She whispered the words into his skin.

Vision pulled back before his jaw opened in a smile that showed off his teeth. "And I you my love." He said. There was only a brief flick of mischief though the bond before Vision's long tongue snaked out, giving her a slow lick from the tips of her toes to the top of her head. In its wake her nerves felt like she had been struck by lightning.

"Let me show you." Vision hissed out as one of his massive paws pushed her to the ground and onto her back. The other paw pushed softly to separate her legs. And then she couldn't think anymore as Vision's tongue was back with a determination that nothing in this world short from her saying no would stop.

Not that she would ever dream of telling him to stop. Not with how good it felt. Not with the words and feelings he was pushing through the bond. And then the satisfaction of a job well done at pleasing his mate when she screamed into the twilight sky shuddering beneath his vast form.

No, life wasn't perfect. But it still was beautiful and worth living.

...

Wanda was back at the cliffs.

At and not on them because she was no longer on the ground. She was in the air. Riding high on the back of a huge blue and black Dragon. Vaguely she knew that he wasn't as big as Vision but he wasn't as small as some of the other dragons that were flying around her either.

Not that she could really pay attention to all the colors that whirled swiftly through the air all around them. She was barely fast enough to do magic and lean into the Dragon's moves that he was telling her over the bond. If they had a permanent bond then they would be moving seamlessly as one being. But as Wanda prodded the Dragon she could feel that the Dragon was not only holding a temporary bond with her but he had permanent bonds with two others.

Wanda could feel their presence like shadows. Something that she couldn't quite see but knew was there. She knew now from the Book that something like this was only possible with Witches of great power. Or in what she figured was more possible since this was a younger version of herself that it was the Dragon. The older the Dragon was, the more power it could get.

The Book mentioned that the oldest known Dragon could hold up to ten temporary bonds. But as for a permanent bond it was unknown.

This Dragon was said to be the father of all dragons. A god was how the Book had described it. At some point after a great War said Dragon had disappeared but there was a statue somewhere the Book had stated. This statue was said to be a way to communicate with the Dragon. And with the right ritual bring him back to fight.

The Book also did not have said ritual which Wanda had thought was kind of funny. No spells, no pictures on what had to be the most powerful creature in the world. She had voiced her frustration to Vision about it. He had just chuckled at her. "This Dragon was probably long gone before this Book was published, my Dear."

Wanda had of course figured this but somehow she knew that she had seen the statue in the Before. Even if she wasn't sure where or what it had looked liked.

'We are getting a little closer on the next pass. Get ready to attack.' Came the Black Dragon's voice. Then there was a screech that sounded way too close for comfort. Both her and the Dragon turned to see that one of the creatures from below had scaled the wall of the cliff that they had been flying past. There was no time to avoid the thing as it jumped down on them. The Dragon was able to turn so the creature didn't land on Wanda but just barely.

Pain raced through the bond as the Dragon bellowed out from the claws that sank into the Dragon's side. The creature didn't pause as two of its heads bit down into the Dragon's wing joints. Between the waves of agony that tore through her, Wanda could feel the two voices of its mates screaming its name, the pain they were feeling doubling back at her. Then a second later she felt numb. It took a moment for Wanda to realize that the Black Dragon had severed the bond between them.

He was trying to save her.

Them.

Without the pain from the Dragon clouding her senses, she could think and gather her magic. It also meant that she had no clue how the Dragon was going to move. She just had to trust that they knew each other well enough. That the training was going to be enough.

So when the Dragon rolled onto its side to slam the creature in the cliff wall, Wanda ran over the Dragon's mass. When the Dragon pulled away from the wall, Wanda had her magic ready, hitting the creature. It took two more blasts to knock it off. And then she used her magic to throw it to the ground below.

Wanda only had a few moments to feel the relief before she and the Dragon dropped from the air. The sharp edges of the cliff bit into her as she fell. Hands scrabbling at the surface for something to grab hold of to stop her descent. She landed hard on a small ledge. Only having enough time to take a breath before the Dragon came down on her, pushing her right off the side.

She screamed as she was sent spinning into the air, barely hearing the Dragon scrabbling behind her. Below her was a sea of the horrible creatures all with jaws open towards them. She flipped in the air and saw the black Dragon with bright red blood streaming from its tattered wings.

Behind him she could make out a golden dragon with a green figure swooping down towards them. Lightning poured out from the dragon's wings as it flew to them. The air was filled with the cries of excitement from the creatures and the yells of two names screamed in panic.

"Bucky!"

"Wanda!!"

And Wanda knew that her and the Dragon were probably going to die.

...

Wanda woke with a ghost of a scream in her throat and the wind from the fall still ringing in her ears.

Her heart was hammering in her chest. But she was still alive even if she was unsure of how that was possible. If the dream, her memory was true then she should at the least be laying in a broken heap. At the worst, she should have been eaten by whatever those creatures were. Yet here she was.

Not for the first time she wondered about her past. So far none of her dreams held Vision. And that made her wonder just how long ago they met.

Wanda looked down at where Vision was curled around her in sleep. She reached over to wake him but stopped before their skin could touch. Instead she backed away, exiting the bed before moving towards the fire.

She sat with a soft huff. Wanda knew that she should wake Vision and tell him what she had seen. But she was scared. Scared of what had happened to her. And with some many new images to sort through she really didn't want to live through it again tonight.

Instead she waved a hand calling forth her cup, tea mixture and some water. Letting everything float for a moment before adding to the cup one by one. When the tea was ready she let it drift down to her hand.

Taking a sip she frowned at the fire. It took a moment to find the poker and then to prod at the ashes. The flames springing to life under her touch. Once they were at a satisfying height, Wanda turned the two rocky oval shapes that were resting there. She knew that Vision must have put them in there to stay warm overnight. He did that on some of the cooler nights.

When she was done she sat back humming the lullaby as she watched the flames until Vision stirred from sleep.

The stall was as busy as ever. But that was how the Market Place was. Everyday it would start off slow with the rising of the sun. Mostly soldiers who were getting something before going in or leaving their posts. Next were the cooks from the castle coming for items for the meals of the day. Then other servants of the castle would be right behind them.

After that the servants of the nobility would come next. Once that crowd was gone there was a never ending flood of what seemed like the whole kingdom descending down into this open space. The yells of the vendors calling out their wares and the smells of food, animals and people was a constant, a complicated symphony that was never the same. It was life. And Wanda loved every minute of it. The busyness was something that kept her mind steady and after a long day of work she would be too tired to dream of anything. Which meant no memories of the past or what happened after the fall.

Sure she knew that it would catch up to her one day, but as long as that day wasn't today she was completely fine with it. With a smile Wanda handed the customer their order before turning to the next. “How can I help you today?” She asked. She glanced passed the woman to the rest of the long line. Wanda's products were always one of the most sought after items in the Market since they were effective.

It made her happy to know that she was doing good and making a small profit. With the money she and Vision were making here they could soon afford to splurge a little. There was a dress that Wanda had her eye on for awhile now that she knew Vision would like to see it on her. And Vision had his eyes on some fruit trees that they could keep in the cave. Having fresh fruit on hand was a nice treat.

After hearing the Lady's order, Wanda moved around the booth gathering the items. She returned quickly, placing the items and the women's basket. After an exchange of money and pleasantries the woman moved on, giving Wanda a view of the stall across from hers.

They were also very busy. The couple at the stall sold bread. Good bread that Wanda often traded some of her higher level products for. It was worth every penny. Wanda watched as a man turned around from the booth. He was securing his items before he looked up and met Wanda’s eyes.

Something within her twisted at the sight of him. Wanda couldn't tell if it was in a good way or not. She cocked her head at the man staring unabashedly at her. He was intriguing to her. Not in a way like Vision. It was more like a problem that she wanted to solve. It took a moment for Wanda to know why. The shock zapped through her as she realized that he was both a dragon and a witch. Something that she wasn't sure how was even possible.

The man on the other hand looked equally shocked to see her. His brown eyes went wide. And for a second he stared, before he was making his way over to her. It wasn't until the other Dragon moved around a customer with an apology to stand in front of Wanda that she realized maybe she should have run.

Seeing as it was too late Wanda took a deep breath before speaking, "Hello, How can I help you?" She asked. The man tipped his head to the side, a deep frown stretching across his face. "Wanda, where have you been?" The Dragon started but at her name Wanda stepped back. The other looked confused at this action.

He reached over the table talking fast. "Wanda don't you know me? It's Bruce. We've been looking for you? We were beginning to think you were dead." Wanda quickly moved her hand out of the way. She knew that if she let him touch her it could trigger another magical outburst. As it was, her magic was already rising in reaction to the Dragon's own. And she needed to stay calm. Especially now that they were drawing the attention of those around them. The crowd had gone quiet with the potential of good gossip.

"Who are you?" She hissed out.

But before he could answer Bruce looked off to her left, eyes going wider. "Oh gods. You shouldn't be here." The man, Bruce said. There was terror ringing in his voice. Wanda took a quick look to her left; looking for threats. She didn't see anything in particular that would cause such a reaction. Vision had been finishing up with another customer but now he was staring at Bruce.

Wanda was about to look back to Bruce when Vision let out a growl that made her jump. "Vis?" She questioned but he wasn't paying her any mind as he stepped smoothly in front of her. "You need to go." Vision hissed out at Bruce. Every line in Vision's body was tensed to fight. 'Vis?!' Wanda tried again and from the bond panic rose within her.

Vision only twitched his head in response as if trying to shake her out, all while his eyes remained on Bruce. "I don't mean any trouble." Bruce said, hands raised in the air as he took a few steps back. Wanda knew that this was Bruce trying to show that he wasn't a threat. This didn't not calm Vision down. There was only a tremor of magic between the bond before Vision shifted into a dragon, roaring at Bruce.

At the sight of a dragon the Market Place exploded into chaos. People screamed and fled in all directions. Wanda gathered magic knowing that she would have to step in soon. 'Wanda.' was all Vision got out before a clawed paw was wrapped around her center. A moment later they were in the air. They didn't go far just to the top of a building. It gave Wanda a little chance to gather her wits.

Vision roared down again sending a plume of fire downwards. When it cleared there were four figures standing in the space below. Bruce as well as two other dragons, both Blond, who stared up in awe. But Wanda's eyes were drawn to the Redheaded witch who stared at not Vision but at Wanda with concern. While Wanda could say that she didn't remember any of them, something within her was screaming that she knew them. All of them.

"This will be your only warning!! Leave us alone!" Vision roared down to them. Wanda had to say that she was impressed. While the soldiers that were filling the Market Place had taken cover or ducked, these four stood tall.

With the threat delivered, Vision took to the air, heading out of the city as fast as he could.

The four didn't follow but Wanda knew by the looks on their faces that this was not the end of it. They would be back and next time they wouldn't give up so easily.

The roars had stopped. But Wanda stayed firm with her decision. After the confrontation, Vision had kept them in the sky for four days flying South as fast as he could. He wouldn't communicate with Wanda. The only thing that came through the bond was some feelings.

Whatever Vision knew, it scared him. He reeked of fear. For himself and what would happen to Wanda. And Wanda supposed that was probably why she hadn't tried as hard to get him to talk. But after four days of constant flying with short bathroom breaks and moving of the portal, Wanda was officially Done.

When she had told Vision that they needed to talk he just puffed out a breath and reached a paw for her. He was not ready for her to throw up her hands, magic already raised. "I said we need to talk, Vis." All she got was roars in reply and Vision beating at the shield warding she had pulled up.

"I will be inside when you're ready to speak." Wanda had said with a glare before walking back into the Cave. She had left it open so that she could see him and he could see her. While he roared on, she set to work getting the Cave back in order. There were a few potions that had expired due to them not getting the care that they needed. The fire pit needed to get cleaned out too.

A dirty fire was never good for a dragon of any size. After that a bath was in order. She only had time for a quick wipe down with a towel the past couple of days. Luckily they did have a tub in the cave. A few flicks of the wrist and it was full of hot steamy water. It was only after her bath that she noticed that Vision had gone quiet. A look towards the wards showed that Vision had changed back into a human. He was sitting with his head pressed against the wards.

With a shake of her head Wanda got out of the tub. A snap and the water was gone and the tub was back in its corner. Another snap and she had on her robe as she moved to the wards. She knelt, a hand pressed to where Vision's head rested. "Vision." She said softly, trying not to startle him.

He gave a small jump before his red eyes were on her, wide with sorrow. He opened his mouth but all that came out was a very guttural "Sorry." Wanda knew that even saying that much with how raw his throat must have been would be painful. "Hey." She said pushing the wards outward to include Vision. He gave a small tremble as he fell through and into her waiting arms. "Come Love." Wanda said standing up, pulling Vision with her.

They slowly moved to the fire where she helped Vision to get settled. He already looked better as he basked in the heat coming off the flames. After a hot drink with some soup followed by one of her sore throat potions and Vision actually smiles a little. "Better." She asked as she picked up the dishes to take to the sink. Vision shook his head yes but when she turned to leave he reached for her, causing Wanda to pause.

At her questioning look, Vision motioned for her to come closer. Wanda arched a brow while playfully shaking her head no. Vision made a face of frustration at her antics. But she didn't make him suffer for long before she knelt down so they are eye level. "Yes?" She asked, trying to sound open to whatever he is trying to do. 'I ..need t..o show... you ...something.' Vision pushed through the bond as clearly as he could. Being in his dragon form had messed with his communication but Wanda was impressed how well he was adapting back to being human again.

With a nod she lowered her head to him for easier reach. When Vision had trouble raising his hands Wanda reached down for them. "Here let me help." She said placing his hands on her temples. Once she could feel the warmth of his flesh, Wanda let her eyes drift shut trying to be ready for whatever images that came forth.

...

Wanda stood in a cave. Her limbs were weighted down. No matter what she did or how hard she concentrated, they would not move. Then there were her eyes. They were open but they wouldn't blink.

The only small mercy was that wherever she was dark. Or at least mostly dark. There was a light ahead that was growing closer. Wanda tried to call out to whoever it was for help but her voice never came. Her lips won't move.

She was frozen within her own body. And she was afraid and alone.

'You're not alone.' Whispered Vision's voice. And Wanda relaxed with it, feeling his presence all around her. 'Where are we?' She pressed back. The answer didn't come right away, making Wanda believe that Vision had left her. 'I only have one memory of the past. This is it.'

Wanda was about to ask a question but she stopped. The light that had been coming was now upon them. It was a lantern held by a short man in red and gold robes. Wanda recognized the blue glowing star on his chest. He was the witch that had been riding on the back of the Blue Dragon. The other man was also familiar too. It was Bruce. Looking just as sheepishly as he had been in the Market.

They were talking as they moved closer. The smaller one in red, hands were waving animatedly as he gestured. "See. He looks just like he had when he saved us." Said the shorter man. Bruce stared in shock. "I have to say Tony. I never really believed the legend but I can feel it. The power oozing off him. Do you know how he got here?" Bruce asked.

The other, Tony? shook his head. "When I saw him last he was on the cliff face near the village. Then one day he was just gone. But I had a feeling that he was out here somewhere. The bond was weak between us. I just started to feel something recently." Tony said with his hand reaching out. Wanda saw now that her legs were nothing but stone that was chiseled into the shape of legs.

If she could she would frown. She couldn't feel Tony's hand even though it was right there on her. "Interesting. Do you think Steve and James will have any answers? They are a part of the old generation of dragons." Bruce asked with his head cocked to the side, a hand rubbing at his chin absentmindedly. "No, Cap said that this one is older than them. Bucky says that we might need to go further back. See if we can contact the oldest of dragons from the Dragon tribe." Tony said staring up at Wanda.

"Oh lord they want to bring Loki and Thor down here?" Bruce questioned turning pale. Tony turned now looking a little annoyed. "With the way this war is going we will have to call for reinforcement soon. We are doing what we can right now to keep the world safe. If we don't do something quick then we are going to lose this war. We can't let that happen." Tony stated. Bruce looked sad as he spoke, "I thought you said that you didn't know how to wake him?"

Tony nodded. "I don't know for sure but I have a theory. Remember that village we saved a few years ago. The one that we got the girl from? The witch that we have been training?" Bruce's forehead wrinkled. "You mean Wanda?" Wanda's heart gave a hard thud in her chest at the mention of her name. "Yeah, her. Well I haven't told anyone because I just thought it was a coincidence but not only does she have the same name but she looks just like this one here's mate. More so as she gets older." Tony explained.

Bruce's eyes go wide. "Tony, are you trying to say that she is his mate reincarnated? Because I don't think I've ever heard of it." Bruce stated. Tony sighed, " I know it sounds messed up, but think about it. He turned to stone when she died. And he disappeared. Now he is here right on the edge of our battlefield like he is waiting for her. I think they are still connected. And they are going to save us all."

"That is a lot of ifs Tony and with how fast the enemy is coming I don't know if we can get Wanda here in time. Besides, she is still in training. A full bond with such a powerful dragon at such a young age will probably kill her. It is probably what killed her the last time." Bruce added. Tony frowned. "I hate to say it. I love the kid. She is talented and smart. She will be a great witch but if it comes down to the world or Wanda's life then we might just have to hope that this reincarnation thing isn't a one time only deal."

...

The shock of them talking so easily about her death threw Wanda violently out of the memory.

She knelt there, shaking, tears streaming down her face. Her face resting on Vision's chest. A second later, bile was rising in her throat. Wanda was barely able to grab the bucket before she threw up into it. She felt Vision's hand on her back rubbing in small circles.

When she had thrown up everything that was left in her stomach and the muscles in her stomach burned, she was able to actually start breathing again. She hadn't been this sick in months. Wanda was very glad to have those days behind her, shuddering at how sensitive to foods and smells she was.

Numbly she stared at the flames as they danced around the rocks, wood and other things in the pit. It was suddenly a little too hot in the cave. She wanted some fresh air but neither she nor Vision were strong enough to go anywhere just yet. Instead Wanda had to make do with just holding on to Vision. Letting his strong grip around her ground her.

'I don't know what they did to wake me up. And I don't know how we ended up together but I do know that I won't let them take you. You are mine and I won't lose you again.' The words reverberated through the bond.

Wanda knew that Vision meant it. It was just that she knew somehow that it probably wasn't his fault for her death.

And that scared her even more.

Wanda let herself drop the final few feet to the ground. If she wasn't so frazzled or mentally and physically tired she would have been proud of herself at surviving such a tough climb but she had more pressing matters.

Taking a quick look up the cliff face, she frowned at where Vision had dropped her hours ago. A move that Wanda knew was to keep her safe.

Still didn't mean that she wasn't pissed about it. The Hunters had come out of nowhere, determined to take both her and Vision. But with Wanda out of reach and a dragon willing to go with them peacefully, they choose to let her be.

They probably just figured she would fall to her death from up there. She almost had a few times. But she had to live. Vision had told her she needed to. 'One of us needs to stay alive to look after the boys. They should hatch soon. I want them to know their brave mother.' Vision had pressed at her through the bond as they hauled him away.

A bond that was quiet right now no matter how hard she screamed. Whatever magical chains they had put on him had cut off the bond. Wanda couldn't feel Vision right now either. She knew that this was the first time in her life that she couldn't feel his presence. She still knew he was alive. Something that she couldn't explain beyond that maybe it was because she remembered now.

Everything was back.

And she meant everything.

Being on that ledge triggered a memory. And then another came right after that. A whole flood of them that Wanda knew she could blame for the weeks of avoiding.

She was right to fear what was hiding within her. Tony was right. She had been reincarnated to return to Vision. She had been born over and over again never making it past the age of twenty or at least until now. With each rebirth Wanda's magic had grown. But a battle would be not too far ahead of her as well as Vision coming for her. Together their power would be enough to wipe the enemy from existence as well as end her life. Yes the book was right. Vision was a god.

Fallen to this planet a long time ago. He had lived in peace on his own until after Wanda's village had been attacked. The survivors had taken her and Pietro to Vision as slaves for him. "Help us please and these orphans are yours. They are strong and pretty." Wanda didn't know what the adults had meant at the time. But she remembered the look Vision had given her.

The pity. The sadeness. That enemy wasn't that strong so it hadn't taken much for Vision to kill them. And when it was done he took his twins away. The three of them living well with each other. Vision being the father figure and mentor they needed to learn magic. Only crossing the line with Wanda one time. She had died bringing their eggs into the world.

Or at least she thought she had. What she, her brother and Vision had would later be known as a bond. The first on the planet. When she was reborn again with Pietro, Vision was there. Their past memories were just dreams to them. It was only when they were old enough that Vision was able to explain and awaken their past life. That after her death, Pietro had lived on. Had a family. From that line they were reborn. And from the dragon eggs were born the world's first dragons. Wanda hadn't got to see her actual children but she had met her grandchildren Thor and Loki, just pups themself too young for them to remember her. And thankfully too young to fight in the big battle that she died in by using too much power.

The next time she and Pietro were reborn again centuries later the world was bigger. Vision didn't find them until they were thirteen. By then the great Dragon settlement was being built. It was magnificent. Here she finally got to see her sons, old with age but strong with power. And see the eggs of her great, great, great, great grandchildren from two strong witches Sarah Rogers and Winnifred Barnes.

Wanda wouldn't get to meet Steve and James until two lives later. She and Vision had gone on a mission to gather more dragons from an unsafe area. The enemy that attacked captured her and were using her as leverage against Vision. Wanda had taken care of that problem, easily running herself through the blade.

She was fourteen when Vision found her and Pietro the next time around. The world was at war with a spawn of creatures that, like Vision, had come from space. The Hydras, unlike the Dragons who just wanted to enjoy the world, wanted nothing more than to consume everything. Vision had explained that this war had been going on for a long time now. They had lost so many on their side. Good witches and strong dragons including her sons Tommy and Billy. But they were training up a good generation of new witches; the best was Antony Stark.

There were also the halflings. While Tommy had taken after Vision in being a dragon. Billy had taken after Wanda. Billy's children were occasional dragon/witches. Billy being the first, Loki the next and Bruce as well as a Carol.

They were strong and well prepared. Or at least they thought they were. Hydra came for the base in a wave so strong that it took all of Wanda's power and life as well as most of Vision's to kill most of the enemy; the rest were pushed back to the far North. The result was Wanda dying once more and Vision being turned to stone.

When she was reborn this last time dragons were rare and dangerous creatures. Wanda figured now that the dangerous label came from the survivors and civilians that had been settled in the base and witnessed the last attack. Vision did not come for them this time. But the Avengers, the resistance, had when they had heard of Wanda's powers. They were six when they were brought in to train. Hydra had taken centuries to regroup and now they were back.

The battle that had injured Bucky had landed both of them in the middle of the fray. Alive but still fighting. Thor had gotten to them when they had gotten backed up against the cliff walls. Loki had been with Thor, which was how they were saved.

With Loki's help they made it into the tunnels in the cliffs. And more importantly to Vision. Using old magic, Loki was able to free Vision right before Hydra had found them. At Vision's release it had created a power blast that sent Vision hurtling through the air. He had apparently grabbed Wanda in the process. The crash on the beach had been shielded by Wanda's power. But the blast had created some kind of vacuum that had taken both their memories.

But now with them back Wanda had years of knowledge and magic at her disposal.

With a snap of a finger the portal to the Cave appeared.

She went straight for the Spellbook. The one that Loki had shoved into her hands before waking Vision. She knew what page she needed to go. A quick review of two different spells and Wanda was ready.

The first spell she applied to the firepit. It would keep the fire at the right temperature until the eggs were ready to hatch. Hopefully she would be around this time. But if not then she needed to find someone to allow them into the wards. There was only one other she would trust with her children.

With that done Wanda stepped back outside, book in hand. It took a moment to shut the doorway. Then another to reach out through the second bond that stemmed away from her. This one was in bad disrepair but there was still a pulse coming from the other end. She sent her magic down the line, feeling it plug up the gaps and clear the way. The moment the line was clear, Wanda had to jump at the voice that rang back.

'About time you called me back. I was beginning to think you were actually gone for good this time. You and your boyfriend both need to start answering when I call.' A wave of both sadness and joy filled Wanda at the sound of her brother's voice. It took a second for Wanda to realize that it was coming from both of them. 'Pietro.' She sobbed through the bond. It was all she managed to get out.

The line went completely dead; Pietro's presence on the other end went through too many emotions for Wanda to catch. He came back after a few heartbeats. Softer this time. 'Wanda,' He said breathlessly and there was a heartache in his voice that matched her own. 'I am sorry I wasn't there for you all these years. But I promise we can get him back together.'

Wanda's heart skipped a beat as she realized that she had been so overwhelmed by everything that had happened that she had pushed all her new found memories down the bond and into Pietro. 'Brother I am sorry,' She started before he cut her off. 'We can talk about you relearning your filter and my boundaries later. Right now you need to come to me. Do you remember how?'

Wanda had to smile at how fast her brother was willing to help. 'No show me.' she replied. She could feel him smiling on the other end. The memory came a second later. A simple spell. 'You got it?' He asked with a smirk in his voice.

'I got it. See you soon brother.' She replied turning his bond down on low so she could concentrate.

Taking a deep breath Wanda said the spell slowly as she exhaled. In her mind she could picture the world. A second later it filled with dots. There were two right next to her. She focused on them reading the names William and Thomas Maximoff. She had to smile a little at the thought that reincarnation didn't mean just Wanda and Pietro.

Wanda moved on. The next set of dots were a group of four that were a couple of miles to the East of her. She found if she focused on them their names would come to her. Clint, Steve, Bruce and Natasha. The ones from the city. Wanda moved on. She had a feeling Pietro would call them home in a minute.

Most of the dots were concentrated to the North. What she knew was the Dragon village. Her brother was a blinking light guiding her to him. She was just about to go when she noted three lights further North than that. Two were together, their lights blinking pale the names over them made her pause.

She almost went to them feeling their pain through temporary bonds that should have been long gone but Wanda paused. After more information filtered down to her, Wanda picked up that they had been in that area for as long as Wanda had been lost. Meaning they were probably being held captive. It would be dangerous to go to them now without some form of backup.

No, it would have to wait until she at least had Vision. And then whoever had her family, any of her family, would learn of the Scarlet Queen Witch and why you didn't mess with what was hers.

Chapter 2: Epilogue

Chapter Text

Vision frowned as the human male in front of him droned on. He had to say that while the speech was well thought out and had some good selling points, they kind of lost Vision on the sale. Because really, they had beaten him within an inch of his life over the past few days. And then on top of that the cuffs that they had put on him were horrible.

But Vision would say the only good thing about them was that they allowed him to move easily around the cage they were keeping him in. The bad thing was they were made by someone who didn't understand magic at all and had just made some random guesses.

The cuffs cut off bonds and took power away from those it was attached to. Something a normal dragon would die from within days. Vision on the other hand was not normal. He knew that now that his memories were back.

He knew about the planet he had come from. That his people had become more violent by a sickness that was raging through the population. Most of those with great power had made a run for safety. Vision was one of those flying to the edge of the galaxy until he ended up here on this planet. A lot of good that did him since his people or at least what was left of them were now here.

Hydra, Vision now understood, was what the virus had mutated his people into. A creature whose wings were traded for more heads. Or at least that's what Vision understood from the leader of the hunting group. Justin apparently had been continuing the family trade. Trying to complete the one job that the family had been commissioned to do centuries ago.

Catch Vision.

It seemed one of the times Vision had found Wanda and Pietro they were actually royalty. Vision didn't know and didn't stop to ask. Only gathered his bonded charges up and took them away. The King had made a law that would pay very, very handsomely for the capture of the dragon who stole his twins. A ransom that was still available for taking.

But now there was a better offer on the table. "You see while my family was hunting you we got really good at hunting all types of creatures." Justin had said proudly and Vision tried to look like he was really interested in what was being said. It wasn't like Vision had anything else to do. Even if this Mr. Hammer was so annoying it was basically another form of torture.

Vision was beginning to get the feel that no one really listened to this young man. It reminded Vision of another young witch that needed proper care.

Little Anthony Stark was not who Vision had been expecting to find when he left the dragon village to retrieve Wanda and Pietro but he had been a great asset to Dragon kind. Just like it seemed Justin was for Hydra.

"We ran into your old friends Hydra and a deal was made. We help them. We give them your kind and Pierce lets us live. And you, my friend, are the ultimate prize. We give him you and we are set for life." Justin finished with a flourish. Vision only had one thought about the young man.

He was delusional.

When his mate came for him, because Vision knew that Wanda would, he hoped that she would let him eat this kid. No one should have to suffer this mouth ever again. Justin seemed to wilt a little under the glazed over look Vision had on his face. "Am I boring you?" Justin said, anger rising in his voice.

Mentally Vision rolled his eyes. Humans were such childish, simple creatures. Instead Vision gave a small smile. "Sorry my wife and I are expecting. I was just wondering if the children have been born yet." Justin frowned trying to figure out what to reply back. Only before he could there was a distant rumbling then the building shook.

Vision took a moment to smile. The bond may have been down but he knew what was happening. "Well, it sounds like the Missus is here." Standing Vision brushed off the clothes that his captors had put him in. It wasn't the best but it would do. "It was nice meeting you but I believe it's time for me to go." Stepping around the chair, Vision moved toward the door. The guards stood their ground even as the building shook some more.

Shrugging Vision took a seat. "I see you want to do this the hard way. My wife is a very very powerful witch. And she won't take kindly to you kidnapping me. So I tried to warn you so don't come to me when she destroys you." Vision sat back folding his hands on the table staring expectantly at the door.

While he waited, he enjoyed the show. Watching the guards panic as the noise drew closer. The best part was Justin's brave face crumbling to pure fear. He should be scared. As Justin had admitted he was a killer of dragons. And while a male dragon was strong and passionate, a female, especially a mother dragon was the most feared.

Vision had seen what Wanda had done to those who had kidnapped him the first time. Then of course there was Hydra when they killed Tommy and Billy. No, he was not going to stop her even if he could.

The hallway rumbled one more time before the door opened in a blast of red power so strong that it blew out the windows. The two guards followed shortly after. Wanda handled Justin just as fast. A quick look and a puff of smoke later and he was gone. "Hello Dear." Vision said softly, getting Wanda's attention.

She turned to him, the red of her power, whipping his blond hair in the air. Wanda had her memories back. He could tell by how seamlessly she pulled her power back. A snap of her fingers and the cuffs were gone.

The bonds flared to life. He could feel Pietro as he took out more of the base. It was so nice to feel him again. It was like a part of Vision had been missing this whole time. Vision sent a small hello to his brother-in-law before turning back to Wanda. She stepped towards him checking all his injuries and healing them with simple touches.

When she was satisfied she formed a small blast that pushed his chair back into the wall. "That is for leaving me on a cliff and trying to leave the boys without a father." She gritted out. "I am sorry Wanda. I thought I was doing what was best. I was wrong." He said sadly. He really thought that he had made the correct decision.

Wanda shook her head stepping forward to help him up. "You and me are a team which means that we fight together. Understood?" She asked. When he nodded his head she pulled Vision into a kiss. Before Vision could deepen the kiss there was a cough from the door.

Breaking apart, they looked to see Pietro leaning against the frame. "Really? Is now the time to make out? We have work to do. We got dragons out there waiting on you two so that we can burn this place to the ground now." Wanda rolled her eyes but she took her brother's hand in one of her own. With the other she took Vision's hand.

"Come on Vis. We have work to do." She said giving it a squeeze. "And what is that? Raising the boys?" Vision asked.

Wanda shook her head. "The boys aren't hatched yet. But our grandsons Loki and great grandson James are being held within Hydra. And from what I can tell Thor is in some kind of hibernation in the mountains. It's time they come home." Wanda stated firmly.

Vision reached out trying to feel the three powers. He didn't feel anything but then Wanda slipped some of her power through the bond. He could see them. Thor was buried within the ice. And James and Loki being tortured and experimented on.

"See stronger together." Wanda said, breaking him out of the trance. She stared at him curiously. "I could only see they were alive. You could actually see them." Wanda said with a smile.

"We didn't even know any of you guys were still alive. Steve always had a feeling that Bucky was still out there but we never found any evidence to state otherwise. Steve and Tony's bond with Bucky has been silent for years. We were so shocked when the scouting team stumbled across the pair of you looking for more witches." Pietro added.

"So in other words we need to go get them." Vision said. Wanda nodded. "I had forgotten how exciting it is to have you two around. This is going to be so much fun." Pietro said, practically vibrating out of his skin.

Vision looked between the siblings. They were the first things he had ever cared about in his life. They had taught him the meaning of family.

How to love.

And what it meant to want to give everything up for them. The world was so quick to give these two away to death. When really the world needed more people like them.

Maybe that was why Vision put a little of his life force into their souls so that these two would always come back as long as Vision remained alive.

Of course Vision always hoped that it wouldn't be necessary but one thing Vision was good at was planning and looking after these two.

"Brother I worry about your meaning of fun." Wanda said with a laugh. "Admit it you're excited for this battle. I have learned some new spells while you have been gone. I want to see how strong you've gotten." Pietro stated.

Vision smiled at the pair as they fought. He knew without a doubt he would follow them to whatever battlefield they wanted to go to because while some people's home was a place, his home, his place of his own, was Wanda and her family.

The End

Notes:

So when I picked this story I knew exactly how I wanted to start it. And I knew how I wanted to end it. But somewhere along the way I decided that I was going to write something referring to all the pictures in the artwork since I really didn't have a place for the middle part.

One of the pictures I wasn't sure about what it was so I asked the Artist and they told me it was of Apollo. And said it would be cool if I added the god. But my mind had already begun to run with what if Vision was something of a God. Which changed the ending. But that was a good thing since the ending was going to be Thorki and Stuckony focused and this story should have been about Wanda and Vision.

I hope the story was enjoyable. And I thank everyone who read it. See you next time. :)
