In no time, both the boys are standing in Lance’s room and fiddling with the time jewel. Trying to figure out if they can somehow manipulate time around themselves.

“Ughh, Lance!! be more gentle! Press that button!”

“which button??”

“that one!”Keith exclaims pointing to a spherical button on the bottom of the hourglass.

“oh!” Lance says and presses it, nothing happens, Lance turns the hourglass upside down again and after a few seconds, Lance notices that Keith is unusually quiet, so he looks up and finds him frozen in place. Literally.

“whoaaaa”

Lance waves his hand in front of Keith’s face, but he doesn’t even blink. Just stuck with the expression he was making a few seconds ago.

“Oh my God,” Lance says to no one,” it actually stopped time!”

He stares at Keith, going around him, then enters the bathroom and notices that the leaky tap’s water has also stopped mid-air.

“This is so cool” he whispers to himself.

Hmm, so I guess only the person that presses the button can move around while everything else is frozen in time. He wonders.

Can two people press the button simultaneously?

Let’s find out. Lance smirks and goes back to Keith but stands a few feet away. Why? To prove that he did stop time.

He clicks the button again and everything comes to life again, Keith jerks back from his position when he sees that Lance just magically transported from his side to the other end of the room.

“What the-? how did you get there?!” Keith exclaimed

Lance simply grins and crosses the room to stand in front of him again

“It worked! As soon as I clicked the button, time stopped and I went to that corner and clicked the button again, so for you , it looked like I just teleported there.” Lance chuckles.

“No way” Keith whispers,” so anyone who presses the button..?”

Lance nods,” wanna try together?”

Keith nods eagerly, and Lance brings the hourglass in front of them, he places his finger on half of the button and nudges Keith to do the same

“Ready?”

Keith smiles, and they both press the button.

It looks like nothing happened but then Lance shows him the frozen water and he gasps

“Oh my God, it actually works!!”

“I know right!!”

“Let’s go mess with the team!” Lance exclaims as he makes an evil face

“haha, what do you have in mind?”

He grabs Keith’s hand and drags him towards the living room of the castle ship, apparently, Shiro and Allura were still with the ice queen and Pidge and Hunk were playing video games in the living room.

Now frozen in the middle of a heated round of Mario Kart.

“This is the perfect opportunity, hehehehehe” Lance whispers to Keith

“you know we don’t need to whisper right?” Keith remarks raising an eyebrow, making an adorable face.

“Shhh, don’t ruin the fun, Keith! Now watch me!”

Keith shrugs, but Lance notices a small smile on his face anyway.

He strides in front of Pidge, waving his hand at her, no response as expected. So he carefully takes a blanket from the couch and drapes it over her head, he hears Keith snicker behind him and can’t help but let out a giggle as well.

Their eyes meet and Lance flashes him a grin before turning towards Hunk and doing the same.

Now they go and hide behind the wall near the entrance, looking over to see their reactions when they press the button again.

As expected Pidge sputters when she’s suddenly covered with her blanket and can’t see at all, Hunk lets out a shriek! that is too high pitched.

“what the fuck!!???”Pidge yells as she snatches the blanket from her head and looks around bewildered.

Hunk looks like he’s seen a ghost, but he looks around too, trying to find out how this happened.

Keith and Lance quickly hide behind the wall and snicker among themselves, trying to be as quiet as possible.

They run back to Keith’s room this time, because it was a little bit closer. They quickly close the door before their teammates can figure out it was them.

Once safe, they both let out a snort.

“pfff, oh my God Lance!”

Lance just bursts out laughing in reply.

“we-” wheeze “ definitely need to do that again!!”

“Definitely!! haha,” Keith replies.

As soon as they calm down, Lance notices that there’s an adorable smile on Keith’s face and he doesn’t know what came over him, but the hourglass was in his hand and he pressed the button again.

Alone this time.

Why? So he could stare at Keith smiling at him for a bit longer.
