Chapter Text
“What are you guys doing tomorrow?”
Kinda weird for Adrien to be the one to suggest doing something.
“What about tomorrow?”
“It’s the fourteenth”
Oh. Well, there was a reason Luka was the wielder of one of the time-related Miraculous. At least she now had her personal calendar. She was keen on routines, but not nearly half as organized as him. And then there was Adrien, who couldn’t not follow a routine, but also couldn't have a sense of time to save his life.
She had been looking forward to that particular day, though now that it was right around the corner she did not feel half as excited as she thought she would be. Sure, she never missed the opportunity to express her affection to her partners, but this was their first Valentine’s together. First Valentine’s making plans for a Valentine’s date. In the middle of February. Which was very cold. She did not enjoy cold. It made everything taste metallic. Plus, ever since she started being Ladybug, she had a constant need to go hide under a blanket (or if given the case, between her boyfriends), whenever the temperature dropped even a few degrees. And, since it was winter, it was very probable it would be freezing the next day. Actually, according to the weather forecast, there were high possibilities of snow. If there was something she disliked even more than the taste of coldness, it was the feeling of things getting caught on her hair. There was a reason she kept her hair short and tied up. Snowflakes were definitely very high up in her list of Most Disliked Things To Get On My Hair. Now, add the smells around the city whenever there was a holiday like this to the list of Potential Things That Could Lead To Overstimulation And Ultimately To A Meltdown That Would Wreck The Entire Plan. She could handle some, but with flowers in every corner, perfume in every store, and the sweet, cloying smell of all sorts of candy she was not sure how was she supposed to manage it in case they wanted to go to a restaurant. But with all the recent akuma attacks, it was not something she was willing to find out.
Wait. The plan. She grabbed her phone, to a starting plan discussion.
“Maybe we could go somewhere?”
Oh no. This was happening. Tragedy.
Why couldn’t they simply meet in one of their houses? Maybe watch a couple movies? Have them over to simply give them their presents?
She had spent the last couple weeks working on presents for both of them. It was a handmade three-piece set of matching hoodies since not a single store in paris seemed to sell matching sweaters for three people. Honestly, she was pretty sure if anyone sold them it would be an almost certain success. The thing about these though, is that since she had made each one by herself, she had been able to make them fit each one’s needs. Hers, for example, was made with a cozy fabric and a specific type of stitches she loved because they were almost invisible to the touch. Luka’s had the hat part especially designed so it could obscure his vision when needed. And finally, Adrien’s was about a size bigger so it would not be too tight onto him, and made with a material she knew would not feel different even if it was extremely worn out.
Wait. She could simply drop their gifts off. But the point was to spend time together though. This was going to be a long brainstorming session.
Notes:
this was supposed to be a oneshot but my brain said no and here we are, tbh i kinda like how this turned out? somehow?

Chapter Text
Somehow he had managed to get the day off. At least his father had been kind enough to grant him permission to spend the day with his boyfriend and girlfriend. However, they had not decided where they would be going yet. He loved them with his entire heart, and some time with them always meant granted happiness. Still, one thing was randomly meeting up at someone’s house, and another was to meet up on a formal date planned less than 24 hours in advance. Especially if said date was intended to be one of the traditional Valentine’s romantic plans. He was not a big fan of fancy, crowded restaurants, and he was really hoping none of his partners were thinking of gifting him chocolates. Ever since he started wielding the Black Cat Miraculous, he had gained a few food allergies on top of his preexisting ones, and chocolate was very high up the list. Plus, restaurants were noisy. Often VERY noisy.
He would not say no to a casual hangout, the three of them being in their own happy bubble while watching a movie at either Luka’s or Marinette’s. It was, in fact, what he was going to suggest. But it was Valentine’s. They could do that every day. This was supposed to be a special date, one to spend with your significant others, doing something memorable to celebrate love. Everyone seemed to get big, fancy gifts. Enormous flower bouquets. Hire loud bands to surprise their lovers with their favorite tunes. Use flashy signs to declare their undying love to the world. Go places they would probably not be able to afford ever again to show how much their partners mattered to them.
He was unsure if he actually liked that idea, though.
He was more of a “constant display of affection” guy rather than a “random outbursts on special dates” one. He had gotten them both gifts. A brand-new knitting set for Marinette, with about a dozen different-sized crochet hooks with decorations made by him on the handle, combined with what to the normal eye looked like a lifelong supply of yarn, but knowing her would hardly make it past April if her special interest in knitting didn’t go away before, which was unlikely since it had stuck with her for over a decade. And, a collection of about two dozen hand-painted guitar picks for Luka, each one carefully decorated by him. Both gifts had taken him ages to finish, but if there was something he felt more genuine than even words, was handmade gifts.
However, he started thinking about how would he bring them with him if they went somewhere. The yarn would definitely take up most of the car’s trunk, and he only hoped the separations in the picks’ box would not fall over and spill them around.
If they went out, he would most likely have to bring his good noise-canceling headphones with him. He only hoped he would not have another shutdown outside again. It was way too tiring for him to have one whenever he was outside without headphones. His first idea had been to not wear them, but when it came to deciding between looks and comfort, it wouldn’t matter if no one looked at him weirdly if he was going to have a meltdown later.
Then, there was the issue of where were they going. A restaurant didn’t seem like such a bad idea, but given how crowded they tended to be on special dates it would probably be, well, hell. Plus, they had no reservation. Sure, he could always play the Agreste surname card, but, did he actually want to? What if he picked a place that the other two did not like? What if he picked the correct one and everything went smoothly but he screwed up with some sort of shutdown? What if they assigned them a table outside and Marinette spent the entire time suffering from the cold? What if they gave them a table on the ground floor and Luka felt too uncomfortable with the rumbling of the cars outside?
He really did not want to risk it.
But they couldn’t leave it like it was nothing either. So he asked them. What could be the worst that could happen?
“What if we go to a restaurant? I can book us for anywhere you’d like”
Chapter 3: Luka

Chapter Text
For a second he wondered if Nathalie had had anything to do with Adrien’s suggestions. It was very unusual for him to actively desire to go out, let alone suggest to be in charge of reservations. But it would be even more unusual for Nathalie to even bother with Adrien’s plans unless they interfered with his schedule and tomorrow had been cleared about a week ago, so that option was discarded.
“Sure, do you have any suggestions?”
That was even weirder. If there was something he knew Marinette was not the type for it was to go well, anywhere during the winter months. That wasn’t a part of her usual harmony. Nor was Adrien’s suggestion. He had a feeling none of his partners were actually very keen on doing anything, and if it were in his hands he wouldn’t let any of them endure that type of torture some others liked to call “date”. Thinking about it, it was in his hands.
“Are you sure you don’t want to come over? Usual plan?”
They probably wanted to say yes, but knowing them, it would be a “Well, maybe we could leave the date for after that?”
And that was exactly what was waiting for him in the groupchat when he looked at his phone again, He loved them with his entire soul and would probably even go as far as selling his guitar for them, but on times like this the temptation to grab said guitar and slam some sense onto them made a guest appearance. Metaphorically speaking though, he would never actually use it against them. Maybe he could write one of those monotonous, repetitive songs the three of them hated and use the sleeping curse it would surely cast to try and get the sense into them with lyrics while they were asleep. He had to think about it later.
Anyways, that meant time to prepare for the next day. Finding his pick-shaped chewy was top of the list. Next, getting the good blankets. He was pretty sure they were in his closet but double-checking wouldn’t kill anyone. Then, making sure his go-to voice-to-speech app was no longer glitching. Finally, the most important thing, texting them “What time are you coming over? And what time are we leaving?” and after realizing they hadn’t settled on a place yet, “And, by the way, where are we going?”.
Tomorrow was going to be a long day.
Hopefully, most people would leave their cars at home and go instead for a nice romantic walk. Otherwise, it would be even longer. There was a reason he spent most of his time on the boat. He’d take the soothing rocking the water caused on it any time over the rumbling of the pavement under his feet every time he went near a road, and half of Paris was covered in them. Most fancy restaurants had at least two floors, so that was an advantage. However, most also had a fixation on using artificially lit candelabra. Candle ones were fun, the flames and their ethereal dances always caught his attention with their mesmerizing show, but artificial ones… they were not his thing. Too bright, too static. A blinding spectacle of chiming lights. Warm light was always better.
Just as he was considering if he should start searching for his sunglasses, his phone buzzed again.
“Well, knowing the three of us, I booked a table at the Chez Francis. Indoors, not too big, no open kitchen, and while it only has one floor, our seats will be far inside, so no rumbling.” that was a great relief, at least. He searched pictures online, and to his delight, the entire place had warm lighting. Had he said how much he loved Adrien that day? “The reservation is booked for around 9 pm, but we have some time in case we run late.”
Adrien had thought of everything, considered the issues the three of them had. and even had taken into account the fact that two out of the three of them had the worst time perception abilities Luka had seen in his life. It was a straight-up perfect date plan. The morning to themselves at his place, then a cute dinner to close the day. Spending the whole day together. Was he in heaven? He sent a goodnight text to his partners and prepared to get some sleep, if he could get any with the excitement flowing through his veins like a streak of sun. It was a matter of waiting for the next sunrise. Only hours until Valentine’s day started.

Chapter Text
While none of them could even begin to understand how or why anyone would love spending a day outside, the Liberty was always a safe haven, let it be for any type of tragedy or simply as a refuge from the outside world.
And that was precisely what they were using it as.
The wooden floors and the calming rocking of the boat on the water was anything they could have ever wished for. A perfect moment, one they all secretly wished could be frozen in time.
Luka and Marinette were still in disbelief as to the kindness the mere act of making a reservation for Valentine’s day, on Valentine’s day, at the seemingly most perfect place on earth for them. The promise of the meal afterward kept their spirits roaming high throughout the day, whether it was while playing video games or taking a snuggle break.
The day was going to be truly marvelous.
Adrien, on his side, was especially pleased with his newfound decision-making skills. While he hadn’t been sure how his partners would take the news of an impromptu plan, the second they expressed their gratitude-slash-excitement about it, it made his heart flutter. He kept that moment burrowed in his memory, carefully cradled, while he watched them set up the game console, and while he listened to Luka rambling about his thoughts on a rough draft for a new song he wanted to have finished by that day. For them.
As the day went by, all of a sudden he’d find a note or two to keep on going, one measure at a time. Slow but steady, Marinette noticed how his draft notes doubled their size from the moment he opened the notebook up until that moment. She noticed the way both her and Adrien had gotten entranced by Luka’s fiddling with the notes, the ones that lacked any sense of harmony even to her untrained ear, and the ones that fit in together alike. Maybe, the date for later wouldn’t be so bad.
Maybe.
Slow but steady, Luka could feel how their melodies intertwined, perfectly enough to make up for the only one thing that had managed to escape his radar for the day. Every moment they spent together reminded him of what he loved the most in this world, apart from his guitar. Enough, even, to make the urge to smack sense into his partners to begin to fade. As long as he was around them, he concluded that even the worst overload could end up being not so catastrophic maybe.
Maybe.
Even slower, but steady too, Adrien began considering a newfound possibility. As much as he wanted to make them happy, give them everything he always thought he should having the upper economic hand in their relationship, every day that went by changed his perspective a bit.
While the day made its way out, he found himself staring at his partners more than once, simply enjoying their presence.
The way Marinette found a corner to snuggle in, following the rhythm of Luka’s fifth thousand attempt at the closing section to his melody.
The way Luka sat in silence, occasionally giving them loving stares or asking if the volume he was playing at was alright.
The way he himself had found a nice spot of warmth, far enough to feel without the urge to immediately shut down all of his senses yet close enough to feel himself along them comfortably. Comfortably enough to have barely noticed how fast the time of their reservation was approaching.
Maybe.
“Guys?” he began, grabbing their attention. “I was thinking… I kind of feel a bit like staying here. It’s too nice in here, and to be honest I’d rather not have to, you know, pull up with all that”, he said, gesturing towards the exit. “I mean, as much as I hate making phone calls I’d even prefer that to going out right now, and that’s something to say.”
Both Luka and Marinette emitted a relieved sigh as soon as he finished his sentences.
“I was just about to say the same,” Marinette laughed as she grabbed the blanket she had wrapped herself into and dug further into her cocoon.
“Thank Kwami I didn’t have to resort to plan B,” Luka added.
“Plan B?” Adrien asked.
“I love my guitar too much for that, but I also love you two too much not to.”
The three of them laughed at his remark, not even wanting to know what was on his mind.
“So, wanna watch a movie?”
