Chapter 1: Witness Protection
Chapter Text
- Ummm Chat Blanc but they get into a huge argument (when Adrien transforms in front of everyone and all but confesses that he only dated her because he knew she was ladybug) and Adrien turns to Hawkmoth’s side (is manipulated) and they kill her parents (Adrien distracts while his father does it and he doesn’t know the full plan) and so she flees and grabs the miracle box and asks Kalkki to take her anywhere out of Paris and so she does and ends up on a roof in Gotham and cries and robin finds her and is sus of her but she cries into him and explains a bit of the situation then when she calms down she calls Jagged Stone to ask if he has any friends in Gotham that could help her stay off the grid for a little while. Robin stays with her until Alfred shows up. Blah blah, she stays at the Wayne Manor and falls in love with Damian and stuff as she works on finding Hawkmoth with Batman’s help
Chapter 2: Her Nightly Vigilante
Summary:
Daminette
Chapter Text
- So marinette had just moved to Gotham, only being there for a few months after defeating Hawkmoth.
- Somehow Adrien doesn’t have his ring anymore and there aren’t any more miraculous users (either he’s dead or he gave it up).
- So she’s chilling in Gotham working as a designer for Audrey Bourgeois (Style Queen opened a location in Gotham and since she was the head of the design department she was entrusted to it) and then something happens so she’s walking in Gotham at night and passes by an alleyway and sees Robin take someone down before leaning on the wall in pain and then collapses.
- So she takes him in and starts cleaning him up and he definitely tries to attack her when he wakes up and doesn’t trust her after she explains the situation and goes back to the Batcave (all the comms and trackers got damaged) but comes to her nightly and she totally talks to Tikki about her affinity for taking in strays. So he’s like super cold and sus of her at first but gradually warms up and they fall in love (awe).
- Also she definitely has movie nights with him and teaches him how to bake and in return he teaches her some traditional Arabic dishes and when she finally trusts him enough to tell him what she’s doing in the city, it’s like a month or two after they’ve become official friends.
- He takes it sorta well, saying that he understands her reasoning (that batman doesn’t like outsiders) for hiding the information and appreciates the effort and has noticed that something has changed in Gotham. Then he’s like benched for a week (separate issue) and some of the other bats come and visit her and ask her a bunch of questions and stuff and she’s like why haven’t you come before and they’re like we’ve tried and have been threatened multiple times by his katana.
- eventually they work together to take down the league, who's kinda hunting Mari the whole time
- and Damian needs to keep Mari a secret from his dad but he still finds out and accidentally tells talia how to find her
Chapter 3: Flirty thief marinette
Summary:
Daminette
Chapter Text
- post-Hawkmoth
- Marinette goes around as Multimouse and steals miraculous and brings them to the Temple where they’ll be safe.
- The bats have been keeping a file on her and then she strikes Gotham, getting caught for the first time.
- While chasing her, she gets “interrogated” and banters a bit with them before Kalkki opens a portal, and she dives into it, it immediately closing behind her.
- Well, turns out there were more miraculous in Gotham and so she needs to stay.
- Cue banter and falling in love with Robin (????)
Chapter 4: Lady Noire Marinette getting adopted by Catwoman
Summary:
no romantic relationships, maybe past Adrinette
Chapter Text
- So for some reason Marinette is in Gotham (?) and Batman was like rude to her once or whatever so she wants to play a prank on him and then is hanging out on a roof and catwoman is there and they kinda size each other up and then marinette is like wait i can use this and she says how she wants to play a prank on Batman and asks if she can adopt her (cue her transforming into Lady Noire/ dif name) and obv she says yes and they play jokes on the batboys until letting them in on the prank after like two weeks and then they all go against Bruce. Idk if I’ll have anyone fall in love with her
- Noooo wait i remember where I was going with this
- So Marinette made a wish using the combined miraculous and has like black veins all up her arms and the price is that she needs to kill the joker/ or all the major rogues (if she just retains skin contact long enough it’ll kill them) and so she decides the easiest way to get close to them would be by becoming a bat and goes out as Lady Noire and seeks out Catwoman, who doesn’t like that she’s taking her thing but then when she detransforms she absolutely adores her and adopts her into the family (which was her plan) under the guise of messing with the others. It lasts maybe two weeks with the boys and a month with Bruce. Then she gets too close to Joker and tries to fulfill the price but as she’s draining his life force, someone takes her off of him and she gets scolded (whole no-kill rule, ya know). She’s benched for a while until she sneaks out and tries a few more times. She finally tells them the situation after they catch her on her 5th attempt and they’re like wait what that is so irresponsible of you and she’s like I did what was necessary and they kinda shun her but still say that they’ll help her (and Jason is totally all for it)
- Also, it might be good to mention that the wish also merged their dimensions, meaning before, the MLB dimension and Batman were separate, and only Marinette is aware of this. (wish potentially kills Adrien, or Hawkmoth makes a wish and it takes Adrien’s life and has a huge consequence, and then she undoes his wish but Adrien remains dead and the dimensions clash, or perhaps the wish makes it so that Adrien never existed in this world)
Chapter 5: Okay so this is based off the soulmate akuma fic where it transports her to a different dimension
Summary:
Daminette
Chapter Text
- Based off the soulmate akuma fic where she gets hit holding the miracle box and goes to the batcave (which doesn’t exist in her dimension) and she takes a good look at everyone before being like okay???? So you’re batman why and how am I here??? And they’re like what and she’s like where I’m from you guys are comics and oh my god how am I gonna get back??? I need to defeat the akuma?? And they’re like what and she explains and says that a soulmate akuma zapped her here and the batboys start making fun of Damian and she ignores them and asks if they have any way to get her back to her dimension. So she and Bruce brainstorm and comes to the conclusion that it’s almost impossible and stays with them for a few days (interacts with Damian a bit) and she talks with the kwamis about her situation and they remember that this is basically an alternate timeline where Gotham exists so she takes out the horse and rabbit miraculous and asks them if they can transport her back. And so they get to work and she suits up and calls for a portal and goes to leave but before she does she looks directly at Damian and says that she’ll be back
- So like a week passes before she’s back and she comes out of the portal limping and says that Chat Noir didn’t take the news of her having a soulmate well and went MIA for a week before he showed up again and she took the ring from him, resulting in a cataclysm to the ribs. They patch her up and she rests at the house for a few days before she needs to get back and they tell her that she will always be welcome
- Around a month passes before she comes back and they all run up to hug her except Damian who she just shares a look with. And she says that she’ll be able to stay as long as they’ll have her, but she needs her phone on her at all times in case of an akuma alert. So she moves in and Damian and her fall even more for each other and she tells Batman everything about Hawkmoth and he helps her profile him
- Around a month later, she defeats Hawkmoth thanks to the profile and moves to Gotham full time.
- Diff version but similar “prompt”
- So she gets hit by the soulmate akuma and gets transported to Damian’s dimension. It takes some time for her to figure out how to get back (like a week) using the Rabbit Miraculous (so it’s like no time has passed in her world) in that time she bonds with Damian (her soulmate). She doesn’t tell Chat Noir and they go on like normal, but she’s a bit stricter with the flirting and stuff because she really likes Damian.
- They hang out and text all the time (Marinette going over to his dimension or bringing him over to hers for a night), and when she’s struggling with Guardian duties and having friends, she spends less and less time with her friends and more and more time with Damian (like post Gang of Secrets, except it’s a gradual thing and instead of relying on Alya for help she relies on Damian and his family. They all know her identity because it’s another dimension and if someone on their side got it out of them, it wouldn’t matter because no one knew who Ladybug was over there, and more importantly Hawkmoth wouldn’t be able to find out). Eventually, she’s barely talking to any of her friends outside of school (always skipping on hanging out) and spending more and more time in Damian’s dimension
- Adrien falls in love with Marinette during this time (because Ladybug isn’t allowing him to flirt with her anymore [says that she has a boyfriend] and she’s acting normal around him now) and asks her to ice skating (just asks if she wants to go with him [she’s on the phone with Damian at the time and he’s hearing the entire conversation] and she immediately asks who else is going and when) he says that it’ll be just the two of them (no one else could come) and he was free on friday afternoon. (she discusses her schedule with Damian and eventually agrees to go ice skating because she needs to unwind with a friend) ((he falls in love with her because he gets hit by the soulmate akuma and it transports him to her bedroom, which he takes as her being his soulmate))
- At some point, Damian figures out how to go to her dimension on his own and he surprises her in the middle of class. She’s skeptical at first and then is pleasantly surprised and they chat a bit. She introduces him to her class as her boyfriend (Damian Robinson because they would recognize the last name Wayne as being a comic book character) and everyone goes crazy and Alya’s like wait is this why you haven’t hung out with us and what happened to your crush on Adrien? And Marinette’s like ehh that was a while ago and I got hit by that soulmate akuma a while ago and it transported her in front of him.
- At one point, the League makes tech that can allow them to go to different dimensions (probably after reviewing security footage of Wayne Manor or hearing that Damian has a girlfriend) and she shows up in the middle of class (because no one respects Marinette’s education) and she threatens Marinette because she has her son’s loyalty and she’ll need it and says that she’s sending assassins after her parents. Marinette sighs and gets on the phone with her mom (casual info that her mom was a top assassin) and tells them to expect some company. After defeating all the assassins (like 10), Sabine says that they’ll get another placemat out. Marinette ends the call and congratulates her on being invited to dinner. Everyone is confused and Marinette just wants to learn
- She does dream about moving completely into Damian’s dimension and being a fashion designer while her parents open another bakery. Especially since people are trying to make her life miserable in her dimension (her “friends” start casting her small glares when she isn’t looking because they were left out on important information, Lila feeding the flames and tries to talk Gabriel into getting Marinette blacklisted from the fashion world, saying that it’ll totally break her. Spoiler alert: it doesn’t because she had all her designs (and a design studio) in Damian’s dimension, except no one knows that he’s in another dimension so jokes on them. But other fashion houses follow suit (especially since Chloe has a bone to pick with her for some reason and gets her mother to blacklist her as well).
- They defeat Hawkmoth and she says that Lila Rossi is an accomplice (as payback) and then immediately takes Chat Noir’s miraculous (they maybe reveal themselves) and completes the Mother Box and moves all her stuff into Damian’s dimension, her parents going with her.
Chapter 6: Oof Fake reveal
Summary:
Daminette/ Lukanette w/ Chat Blanc [episode] salt
Chapter Text
- So Adrien thinks that Kagami is Ladybug and starts dating her. Around the same time Marinette (trying to get over Adrien, who she just found out is dating Kagami) finds Damian and starts dating him (eventually falling completely in love with him). Chat Noir asks Ladybug about her relationship and she says that he’s adorable and almost melts whenever she praises him. And Chat thinks that this confirms it so they go on like this, and Adrien sees some similar behavior from Kagami so he definitely thinks she’s Ladybug. And then they defeat Hawkmoth and Damian proposes to her right before they get on the stage and are about to reveal themselves to the public (like they’re on the stage at a press conference) when Chat looks at her and says that he told her that he would love whoever is behind the mask and detransforms. And Ladybug is like wait what and she totally goes off on him and says that Kagami is her friend and he was only dating her because he thought she was Ladybug and how long did he think he knew her identity without telling her. She detransforms into marinette and glares at him and he pales and realizes that he messed up. She storms off the stage and the reporters all crowd around her and she immediately goes to Damian’s side, casting a glare back at Adrien.
Chapter 7: Fallout Au
Summary:
Adrinette
Chapter Text
- So Marinette and Adrien are the only ones to survive cryo and wake up a few hundred years in the future. Adrien wakes up first and does some exploring before remembering that he let his good friend Marinette use one of their chambers because the vault that she was supposed to be in had been prematurely closed. Literally, everyone that he walks past is dead except for her, but he passes a control log and it shows that she is scheduled to die the next day. So he takes her out and helps her get used to breathing again. And they go through the vaults and she immediately gets guardian knowledge transferred to her. They go searching through the vaults and eventually find Master Fu’s (something about how she was supposed to be with him but he sealed himself in early)
- Yes this is a total rip off of that one fallout au, but there’s not enough in this world
Chapter 8: Fake dating Marichat
Chapter Text
- So remember Weredad? Well what if Chat Noir didn’t want to break Mari’s heart and after being on the date and seeing how much everyone else wanted it to happen, he decided to just go along with it, besides, Marinette wasn’t the worst person to be dating. And so now it’s a thing where he comes over on Fridays for dinner and Ultimate Mecha Strike and his interactions with Marinette are so awkward (because neither really want to be in the relationship) and they end up just acting like friends but only when her parents are watching and they don’t allow them to hang out alone in her bedroom (for obv reasons) and then she “comes clean” to him that she was just embarrassed to say that she was stalking him and Ladybug for Alya’s blog (some excuse that she didn’t even get any good pictures) and it kinda spiraled out of control. They “breakup” (can you break up if you were never really dating??) and then realize that they were missing each other so they start dating again, but before they do she realizes that she doesn’t want to trick him and tells him her identity and he tells her his identity
Chapter 9: Chat Noir is a flirt
Summary:
either no romantics or Daminette
Chapter Text
- The class is asking about Marinette’s first impression of Chat Noir (obv Adrien is interested) and Marinette’s like he’s a flirt but ya know that’s normal (from seeing him flirt with both versions of herself and every female hero). And all the other girls (that he’s presumably saved before) are like I mean he might’ve said some punny one-liner, but he didn’t flirt with us when he saved us. And she’s like wait what he hardcore flirted with me during Evilistrator. And they’re like pics or it didn’t happen and she like wait hold on let me find the video that my mom took because she thought it was funny. And she plays the video and Alya comments on how his voice is deeper than normal and how he didn’t even act like that when she was Rena Rouge (because now that their identities are out in the open after Miracule Queen, they’re allowed to do that I guess), just some slight flirting, but that’s just normal banter and they totally are like you were both mocking him and feeding him??? And she’s like what else was I supposed to do??? ANd the class teases Mari about Chat having a crush on her while Adrien has a breakdown. Alya teases Mari saying that her and Chat would make a good couple and Mari says that they have gone on two dates and everyone freaks out and asks her for more details and she says that technically the first date doesn’t count because it was meant for Ladybug, who didn’t show and Chat Noir took her to a rooftop to cheer her up and the second time she might’ve confessed her love for him and they had dinner in her house and he ate like all their food and then it was cut short because A) he didn’t like her like that and B) that made her dad get akumatized. And everyone freaks out and Adrien wants to melt into his desk. Mari says something about her dad getting so mad because “Everyone loves Marinette” (rolls her eyes) and everyone enthusiastically agrees with that statement.
- Or, Marinette’s ice cream changes to Green (eyes), Pink (lips), and Black (idk edgy, but basically Damian, but others take it as Chat Noir), and Andre comments that her love isn’t with her this time, only in spirit (add in detail at the beginning about her getting sweethearts ice cream with Chat Noir [good friend] but she also went with Damian and they were adorable). Adrien sees this and thinks oh no. She’s still in love with Chat Noir. And he like bluescreens for like the rest of the evening. They’re in class and he’s trying to get her opinion on Chat Noir, and Alya’s teasing her about her ice cream matching the hero, and Marinette’s like, no I’m not in love with the casanova but thanks for asking. The ice cream is about someone else, his name is Damian
Chapter 10: Mari has a theory
Summary:
Adrinette
Chapter Text
- (Alya doesn’t know Mari’s secret identity) So Mari, after reading a bit of the grimoire, finds a spell that puts a block in someone’s mind, causing them to be unable to be mind-controlled (and Hawkmoth won’t have access to her memories/ thoughts unless she lets him).
- So the class somehow catches an akuma and Mari is staring at it and says that she’s going to do something and it’s going to be stupid and takes off her earrings and gives them to Adrien with a wink and then inserts the akuma into like a bracelet (after murmuring the spell) and then Hawkmoth is all like smug and says something about her being the most powerful akuma yet and she just handed it to him and she rolls her eyes and says that she’s not going to let him akumatize her and instead just wants to talk. He says that he can see all her thoughts and she asks what her biggest secret is, the one that she’s currently thinking of. When he doesn’t answer she scoffs and says that she didn’t go into this without a plan.
- Then asks what his motivation is, saying that she guesses it has something with the wife he keeps in a basement.
- He’s like how do you know that? And she’s like this is a two-way link buddy-o, I just figured out how to reverse it.
- And he says that she is in a coma from using the peacock miraculous. Marinette sighs (pinches her nose) and says that instead of going to the guardian or even trying to create a healing akuma he goes straight into super terrorism and committing war crimes? And he’s silent and she rolls her eyes and says that he could’ve even gone to Tibet after Feast and the guardian temple reappeared, they would’ve had more resources that could’ve helped.
- Again, he doesn’t respond and she says that she’s going to wake her up, and then he’s going to have to answer to her and sends him images of her killing him brutally so he wouldn’t try to resist. And they both know that she could defeat him as Marinette, so expect her in 5 minutes, Monsieur Agreste. She breaks the bracelet and it goes back into the jar and she says that she has a way to defeat hawkmoth and people are sus and she’s like don’t worry I’m not selling all of my soul. Then she calls Su Han and asks for his help reviving someone who used a broken miraculous and he says that he will help and will have Marinette watch out in case he tries to double-cross them. She asks what he wants in return for this favor and he says that Mother Box.
- She sucks in a sharp breath and hesitantly agrees, saying that it would be hard to convince chat. The call ends and she sighs before taking the earrings back and transforming and saying that she needs to leave. She de-evilises the akuma and totally ignores the stares of her classmates as she starts to leave, but apologizes to Adrien (who is frozen from the entire weird situation) before fully heading out.
- She zooms over to the Agreste manor and opens a portal for Su Han to step out of. They go to his lair and Su Han does the thingy and then Marinette takes the miraculous back and calls chat noir telling him that she made a deal to get rid of Hawkmoth and needs him to give back his miraculous. He’s hesitant and they agree on a meeting spot. She gets the miracle box and meets Chat Noir who begrudgingly hands over his miraculous and says that the police are headed over to the manor. Marinette nods and detransforms, putting all the miraculous back in the box and does the ritual thingy to transfer the guardianship over to Su Han. She collapses into Adrien’s arms and Su Han jumps off.
- Pt 2? Idk of Marinette with no memory (of only the guardian bits? How does this work?) and Adrien (who is still very much in love with her) is sad and trying to help her recover by reading her diary.
Chapter 11: Idk childhood friends au
Summary:
Daminette [kinda] one-shot
Chapter Text
- So they knew each other or something and fell in love or whatever and then they get separated and she keeps up with him in the news (as hard as it is because Bruce doesn’t allow much press around his new son) and then Damian and the rest of the batboys are like at her school or something (in the cafeteria) and she spots him and immediately recognizes him (it’s been like 8 years) and throws a knife at his head (specifically a knife that he gave her that is engraved with Ange [he has a matching one saying Dove]) and it nicks his ear and lands in the wall (obv her table is confused [5- Chloe, Adrien, Nino, Alya] but she tells them to be cool about it).
- Dami obv recognizes the knife and takes it out of the wall (leaving a hole).
- His brothers are going crazy but he calls out and asks if she wanted him dead after all this time (it’s dead silent after the knife lands in the wall), she responds that if she wanted that the knife would’ve landed between his eyes. (cafe is still silent) he turns around and looks at her and says Dupain-Cheng, she responds with a scoff and says Al-Ghul. He corrects her and says that it’s Wayne now.
- She rolls her eyes and says that she knows, just like she know that the Waynes are billionaires with infinite resources and a private jets so why the heck has he been radio silent for 8 years? And he frowns and says that that needs to be a private conversation and she rolls her eyes and says that he and his family need to get out of Paris. He says that they really need to talk in private and she rolls her eyes again and stands up and walks out of the room. He and his family follow her and immediately as the door closes behind them the cafe breaks out into chatter.
- He tries to give her back the knife and she tells him to keep it and explains that his family cannot be in Paris because of Hawkmoth, there was a warning sent out to the League telling them to not send any of their people (lest they want all their secrets exposed), so they really shouldn’t be here. And then they argue about him not staying in contact or whatever
- Workshop the ending
Chapter 12: Roommates with Tax Benefits
Summary:
Adrinette
Chapter Text
- So Gabriel makes Adrien get married (so he will never be seen as a playboy by the press) and he chooses Marinette because she’s his friend and is the only single person in their friend group (and he explains it to her).
- They get married (Mari is kinda disappointed about the wedding because she’s dreamed about getting married to the man that she loves [which she is] but she always thought he would love her back and she’s wearing a beautiful wedding dress and he isn’t even crying) and stuff. The wedding night, she’s all nervous or whatever because she doesn’t know if they’re going to do it or not, and they just talk about how them being married isn’t going to change anything (at least, not unless it’s in front of the paparazzi) and they’ll just be like roommates.
- Obviously her heart breaks and stuff, but she doesn’t let him know that and goes out on patrol.
- Chat shows up and flirts with her and she tells him that she’s getting married to the guy she’s in love with. He’s hurt and stuff but is happy for her until she huffs and says that she’s getting married to him as a friend. They obv talk about that. Mari moves into the house and has her own, separate bedroom. She somehow manages to hide the miracle box in a sewing machine.
- Adrien overhears her on the phone with Alya complaining about how ridiculous the situation is and he asks Plagg why she agreed to marry him if she didn’t like him (because that’s what he assumes) and Plagg calls him oblivious and says that the two of them wouldn’t have been such close friends if she didn’t like him, and if she didn’t want to marry him she would’ve chewed him out like she did with Chloe.
- Adrien agrees but still isn’t fully convinced and decides to visit her as Chat Noir that night. She freaks out a bit but then says that she doesn’t need to lie to him and pretend that they’re the loving couple that everyone thinks they are and says that she always thought she was going to get married to someone who was in love with her, not a good friend and she’s still a virgin and has found some Ladybug porn in his search history and so she’s working on making some lingerie based on her because maybe it’ll make him want her or something but then it’ll never get used because they never do that kind of stuff and she’s not just going to go into his bedroom naked and she complains that she sleeps in a completely separate room and then blurts out that she’s been thinking of having an affair because she feels like that’s the only time she’ll be loved romantically by someone but then decided against it because she wouldn’t want to destroy his reputation like that and couldn’t ask someone to be in a relationship with her when she’s married, and the two people she could think of were Luka and Chat.
- She couldn’t do that to Luka again and he’s moved on, and she was thinking Chat until he mentioned that he had a wife. He is shocked because he didn’t realize that he put her in that situation and feels bad. As time goes on, Adrien slowly falls in love with Marinette and visits as Chat Noir, while Marinette falls in love with the superhero (this happens over a long period of time). Then they defeat Hawkmoth, who is revealed to be Gabriel Agreste. Marinette comforts Adrien.
- A week later, Ladybug and Chat Noir reveal their identities to each other, and then there are confessions of love and stuff and Adrien apologizes because he knew that there was something off when they first got married and that’s why he started visiting as Chat Noir and she apologizes for saying that she wanted to have an affair and not being completely honest about her feelings when he first asked her to marry him.
- Also something about how she tells Chat that when Adrien asked her to marry him, she had been with Luka for like 3 weeks because they wanted to take it slow and not be so open about it after what happened the last time, but as soon as he asked her she said yes and had to apologize for choosing Adrien over him again
- This seems like it would be like ~30 chapters
- this is also based off of another fic that I can't remember the name of, but it seems like a good prompt for a whole story
Chapter 13: Adrien Loves Ladybug, not Marinette
Summary:
ig Adrinette, Adrien salt, slight Alya and Nino salt, Chloe redemption
Chapter Text
- Marinette confesses to Adrien, he rejects her.
- She takes it well and wishes him luck with Kagami and he says that he’s in love with Ladybug.
- She goes still and he starts listing all the great things that he loves about her (like, it’s very clear that he doesn’t see her as a real person and idolizes literally everything she does) and Marinette kinda does the whole what about me thing and he says that she’s just Marinette (like, in a demeaning way. Like “what about you?” basically saying that Ladybug is extraordinary, but Marinette is extra ordinary) but they’ll still be friends after this right and she slaps him because he’s being a jerk and she says that she changed her mind, she hates him now and couldn’t be friends for someone who demeans others and rejected her for a celebrity crush.
- And then she starts ranting about how if it were Kagami, she would’ve accepted it with open arms because they were both her friends and she had seen the way they looked at each other, but not only did he lead her on (he tries to interject saying that he didn’t lead her on, but she says that normal friends don’t slow dance or have a distinct song that they intimately slow dance to, they don’t watch sunsets together, and they certainly do not watch said sunsets while complimenting the other), but he also led Kagami on, someone who has been very vocal about her feelings for him.
- And how he’s only had like 2 conversations with Ladybug, which she would know because as his ex-friend, she had to listen both times while he ranted about how cool she was, and she knows that he couldn’t have fallen in love with her from just that.
- She storms off, mad, and he’s kinda frozen in place until he realizes that she could be akumatized in this state and goes to her room as Chat Noir to comfort her. Surprisingly, he finds her taking down all his pictures and throwing them in a trash can, then lighting them on fire.
- He tries to cheer her up and asks her about it and she says that she was a fool to think that he could ever be so nice when he grew up with Chloe as a best friend. And she starts ranting about how she knew that he was in love with someone, but sometimes she would catch him giving her small glances with a non-friendly look (a look that almost looked like love) and thought that she had a chance, even if she was kinda expecting his rejection, but at least she was in love with a real person and not Ladybug and then she goes on and on about how all her friends would ditch her for Ladybug (Alya, the Ladyblogger, frequently turns their conversations all about the heroine and ditches her and their plans whenever there’s a sighting; Nino, her boyfriend, isn’t as big of a fan, but he still engages in their conversations about her and views her through rose-tinted glasses; and Adrien is in love with her, to the point of turning down and insulting one of his friends, well, ex-friends, and you can’t like who you like, but she’s not a real person, and she highly doubts that he fell in love with her from the 2 times that she’s saved him.
- A little bit after that, he leaves and they both start crying. He feels terrible and guilty, and even Plagg tells him that he messed up (because he insulted Marinette so heavily while idolizing her as Ladybug).
- Marinette feels like she should just be Ladybug since everyone likes her better. She transforms and Chat Noir meets her on a rooftop.
- She starts talking about how Chat Noir is in love with her, and claims to be in love with the girl under the mask, but if her civilian self came up to him and claimed to be in love with him he would reject her immediately. He tries to deny it, but she says that she has a good source (based on Weredad).
- They go about the rest of their patrol and he’s lost in thought.
- The next day, they go to school. When Adrien enters the classroom, all conversation stops and they glare at him (even Chloe and Lila). He asks Nino (who is also glaring at him) what’s going on, and he wordlessly shows him a video of him rejecting Marinette and everyone starts telling him how uncool it was.
- And then Marinette walks in, glares at him, and asks if she can move seats with someone, and moves to the back with Alya.
- He gets a text from Nathalie saying that they need to talk, because apparently after the video went viral, Ladybug tweeted that she has only spoken to Adrien Agreste twice, both conversations being less than 5 minutes total.
- He gets pulled out of class and his dad asks if he wants revenge against Ladybug for humiliating him online and gives him the peacock miraculous. Adrien freaks out and transforms, taking the Butterfly miraculous off him and calling Ladybug.
- They meet up on a rooftop and he detransforms, saying that it was Gabriel Agreste. She detransforms as well and apologizes for being so harsh, but in her defense he had only talked to her twice as a civilian and he apologizes because she was totally right and he rejected her for her.
- They sit and talk about it and she says that it really messed her up because so many people like Ladybug over Marinette and her self-esteem wasn’t too great, especially since Alya and Nino had ditched them to work on figuring out Ladybug’s identity. They agree to go slow and rebuild their friendship, and reveal their identities to the public as well to stop some of the slander on Adrien’s name.
Chapter 14: The Consequence of Knowing You
Summary:
Ladynoir, one-shot
Chapter Text
- After watching chat noir die again, ladybug reflects on how she’s fallen in love with him because of how close they’ve gotten during their patrols (which have become less and less professional and more and more a reason to hang out). She tells him that they should switch to solo patrols for a while, and while he agrees (hesitantly) she can’t help but be a bit disappointed when she is alone and thinks of their joint patrols where they would laugh and how stark of a contrast it is. She joins him on his next patrol and explains her reasoning and he’s like i’ll stop dying for u and she’s like good and they kiss
- this is kinda based off the idea from another fic (which I can't remember the name of) where they call each other by different names (Marie and Anton)
Chapter 15: Re-evaluating Relationships
Summary:
ig Adrinette, Adrien, Alya, and Nino bashing, Chloe redemption
Chapter Text
- So, Marinette asks out Adrien and he’s all nice about it and she’s not too sad until she wishes him and Kagami well and he corrects her and says that he’s in love with Ladybug.
- She’s hurt but plays it off like it’s fine and then goes and complains to Tikki, who suggests that she texts one of her friends to come over and help.
- So she texts Alya, asking if she were busy, and Alya responds that she can’t come over because she’s doing something for the Ladyblog (that heavily involves Ladybug) and Nino is also there and he’s a pushover that loves superheroes.
- And this causes her to reevaluate her friendships, because all 3 of her friends are choosing Ladybug, someone who they barely know, over her. Tikki tries to defuse the situation by saying that as Aspik, Adrien knew Ladybug for months.
- She argues that they only had five-minute conversations at most that would’ve only consisted of battle plans before they got reset.
- And Tikki tries to reason about Alya, but then Marinette looks through their text messages from the past few months and it reveals that they only texted whenever Alya needed something (be it a dress, babysitting, an extra set of hands, anything) and Marinette would immediately agree to do it, when Alya was talking about Ladybug, or whenever Marinette tried to start a normal conversation, only to have it be embarrassingly short and it was clear that she was the only one trying to actually have normal conversations.
- So Marinette tells Tikki that maybe everyone loves Ladybug so much that they can’t see that she’s not a real person and that it’s causing their real relationships to fall apart.
- And she realizes that that’s how she saw Adrien, as Ladybug. Someone perfect that consumed every aspect of her life and dominated all her relationships until it destroyed them.
- She goes out (for fun ig? Or to clear her head??) and immediately runs into Kagami, who knows that’s something is wrong and demands it out of her. Marinette settles on a half-truth, Adrien rejected her for Ladybug and she tried to get comfort from her best friend Alya, but she and her boyfriend, who was also Marinette’s childhood friend were too busy doing something Ladybug related and when she went to check their past messages, over 50% of them were about Ladybug and all others were very dry conversations or were something that Alya needed from her.
- Kagami is appalled by their behavior and recognizes that she was feeling overlooked and they go out for a girls’ day (because Kagami thought that Marinette was the girl Adrien was in love with, even though she had a crush on him, and learning that he would turn down Marinette for a celebrity crush crushed her as well). So they go to the spa and are pretty deep in relaxing when Chloe rushes in and notices them and asks what they’re doing there.
- Kagami explains that Marinette confessed to Adrien and he turned her down for Ladybug. Chloe finishes her statement for her by saying that her good-for-nothing friends were probably busy with something Ladybug as well and that it’s ridiculous (because Chloe also likes Adrien) and she admits that she was mean to Marinette because she thought that Adrien had a crush on her and that if Marinette didn’t have a chance and was rejected, what did that mean for everyone? And so they bond and Marinette learns her way around Chloe’s humor and meanness.
- They (Marinette and Chloe) have a sleepover (Kagami has a strict mom) and bond and are practically conjoined at the hip. At school, on Monday she walks right past Alya, who is too busy looking at something on her phone (probably the Ladyblog), and starts chatting with Chloe. Adrien comes over and gives her an apologetic smile and Marinette gives him a dry look while Chloe is doing nothing to conceal her glare.
- Chloe starts yelling at him and Marinette looks so over it ™ and she chastizes Chloe (before she says too much) saying that they’ve talked about this.
- Alya, Nino, and Adrien are confused and asks when they became friends and Marinette said that after all of her friends rejected her for Ladybug, a superhero that they don’t even know, she ran into Kagami who helped cheer her up at the spa, where she ran into Chloe and they had a sleepover.
- She tells Alya to look at their past messages from a few months and asks if she sees anything wrong with it. She doesn’t, but Nino does and says that Alya had only ever reached out whenever it was about Ladybug or if she needed something and that Marinette was doing all the work in trying to make normal conversation.
- The bell rings and Marinette walks off with Chloe and they sit together (Sabrina doesn’t exist ig).
- At patrol that night, Marinette asks Chat what he thinks of her because she’s starting to realize how many people prioritize talking about her as Ladybug while destroying their relationship with her as a civilian.
- He starts waxing poetic and she looks over and sees him, really sees him and idk thanks him for cheering her up with a kiss on the cheek before zooming off to patrol. Chat doesn’t connect the dots because he’s oblivious
- Could be a potential 2 ch fic, the happenings and the next day
- Could be 3 ch, the happenings, the cheer up squad, and the next day
- Could be multichapter slow burn Ladynoir
Chapter 16: Too Late
Summary:
Post-reveal Pre-relationship Adrinette
Chapter Text
- Post-reveal Pre-relationship
- So, for context, Chat Noir was in love with Ladybug for the first 3 years (of their 5-year partnership), at Ladybug’s request, he moved on and for the last 2 years he was in love with Marinette Dupain-Cheng (but she doesn’t know)
- During this time, Ladybug (who had been in love with Adrien for 3 years) falls in love with Chat Noir (because when he isn’t flirting all the time, she can just hang out and get to know the real him), not that she ever tells any of them. She’s heartbroken that she had told him to move on, especially after hearing a bit about his new love, but accepts her fate.
- Then the reveal happens, and since neither of them has confessed to each other yet, they think that the other moved on to someone else (Adrien had been told about Marinette’s crush on him by Nino or Alya). Adrien assumes that she’s in love with Luka and Marinette assumes that he’s in love with Kagami
- They get an apartment together and are super best friends, sending longing looks when the other isn’t looking, always wanting to be more.
- He overhears her on the phone one day talking about how terrible sharing an apartment with him is and takes it out of context and gets into an argument about it. She, thinking that he was rejecting her, doesn’t take it well and goes to Alya’s to cool off. Alya takes her out to get her mind off Adrien, where they run into Kagami and Luka, who are on a date. Marinette asks about Adrien (thinking that he and Kagami were together) and she says that he’s been in love with Marinette for 2 years. She tells them that it was impossible considering that he just rejected her earlier that day.
- Nino gets a call from Adrien, who vents about Marinette not wanting to share an apartment with him anymore. He realizes that something got lost in translation and tells Marinette that she and Adrien need to talk because there’s some sort of communication error that they’re caught on
- She goes back to the apartment (a bit begrudgingly) and he’s on the couch, red-eyed. They have an honest talk about why they were hurt and laugh about how stupid they were
Chapter 17: Ummm idk a name- To the Ends of the Earth?
Summary:
Daminette
Chapter Text
- So Mari and Damian were married when they were like toddlers and eventually grew to love each other. (like, Mari couldn’t stand his attitude at first but eventually got used to it and saw past his tough exterior type)
- After slade attacked, Damian was still sent over to his dad’s and Mari was sent to be one of Talia’s eyes in Paris
- So she creates this cover- kinda a loner that got adopted by the owners of the bakery (they don’t know about her being an assassin) and then when Alya forcibly becomes her friend she switches her cover to being the girl in love with Adrien Agreste (because it turns all of their conversations about him so they know barely anything about her)
- And she still has the bubbly personality that we see in the show. In fact, her connection with the League is such a secret that not even Tikki knows about it (but Talia doesn’t know about Tikki, only Multimouse and she says that it was part of her cover)
- So then one day she’s walking into class and is in her “Marinette” persona and then she sees Damian and immediately changes her entire body language and tells him that he shouldn’t have come there and gives him a diagram detailing a bomb in his upper thigh and a tracker in his arm. She tells him that she’ll meet him at the rendezvous after he removes those, unless he bleeds out. After he leaves, she continues to have her assassin mindset and gets a message from Talia saying that if she sees Damian to kill him on sight.
- Obviously, her classmates are confused and try to ask questions, but she ignores them and is totally in a different mind space
- After school, She immediately removes her own bomb and tracker (that the League planted in her) and makes sure to have a hideout that she has never visited in person nor looked up online. She kills Alix (because of the Rabbit Miraculous, meaning that she would be able to go back in time), kills Gabriel, Nathalie, and Adrien (and takes their miraculous’ and the grimoire) using the Fox Miraculous to give herself an alibi. She makes a mirage of her own dead body/ uses one of the butterfly or peacock miraculous to kill someone and make them take the appearance of her and makes it look like it was Lila or Alya who killed her (idk, I need someone to take the fall for it)
- She meets Damian at the rendezvous point, hair now blonde, eyes brown, no bangs, and with prosthetics hiding her facial structure. He lays out his plan to take down the League and explains that he couldn’t trust his brothers with it. She agrees, saying that Todd most likely still has his bomb and tracker in him from his time in the League and that when they stole Drake’s spleen they most likely did the same. And that she just doesn’t trust Grayson since he was a Talon.
- With the plan now out, they use the miraculous to take down the League and destroy the Lazarus pits.

Chapter 18: Moving On
Summary:
based on the NY special (Daminette)
Chapter Text
- Okay, so the premise is if something got changed and instead of going to NY for french-american friendship week, they go to Gotham instead for plot reasons
- And Mari tells Alya and Nino that she’s trying to move on from Adrien. They (like in the special) still try to set them up but Mari catches on and is frustrated with them.
- After confronting them, she goes outside to clear her mind and runs into Damian (not as Robin) who scolds her for being out so late, especially alone, and she tells him the situation. He agrees that it’s frustrating and a violation of her feelings
- They end up spending time together (lets say that he was conveniently in all the locations that her class went) and she hung out with him (because she’s mad at Alya and Nino for invading her privacy)
- They get along, but like in the way that it’s nice to have someone to complain to. Their interactions are a bit jaded and you can tell that neither really wants to spend time with the other, but as time goes on they start to talk more and more about good things and find themselves wanting to actually spend time with them
- Somehow Alya and Nino don’t notice and still try to set her up with Adrien
- She and Damian exchange numbers and keep in contact after she goes back to Paris. Her behavior doesn’t change, she still sighs and gets lost in her mind, something which Alya assumes means she still likes Adrien, except it’s about Damian
- (basically she’s acting the same so there’s no reason for anyone to suspect anything different. No one even mentions how she was hanging out with Damian the entire time because they didn’t notice because they were too busy trying to set her up with Adrien)
- So, over a video chat one day, Damian asks her to date him and she says yes. She’s super happy and it coincides with something that Adrien does, which levels out the suspicion.
- But she can actually talk to him now, and now that she can, she’s realized how plain he is
- But now that she is treating him like an actual person, Adrien starts falling in love with her, something which is heavily supported by Alya and Nino, who still think that Mari’s in love with him
- They tell him as such, telling him to pay attention to her sighs in the middle of class because that means that she’s thinking about him, or whenever she gets lost in thought it means she dreaming about them being together
- And then class starts and he notices all the things that they were talking about, so he takes that as a sign and is going to ask her out at the end of class, but she zooms off because surprise surprise, Damian is arriving today and had just texted her that he was waiting for her in the courtyard. So she runs into his arms and they kiss or whatever and Adrien is heartbroken but whatever
Chapter 19: Idk, Adrien is settling for Mari??
Summary:
ig Adrinette, Adrien bashing [more “Truth” bashing], Daminette, maybe lila redemption???
Chapter Text
- This is based on his actions when he was dating Kagami, yet still flirting with Ladybug
- So he and Mari start dating and it’s kinda like the Kagami situation where they haven’t kissed yet (but different in the other aspects) and she’s starting to get self-conscious
- And she’s also getting annoyed because she’s told Chat Noir that he has to take his flirting down a notch because she has a boyfriend now, but he’s taking it as competition and remains the same
- Somehow she finds out his identity and is ecstatic at first (the whole, loving both sides of her), but then she realizes that no, he didn’t like her as Marinette and that’s why he was flirting with her as Ladybug
- She re-evaluates their entire relationship and how many times he looked like he was forcing himself to do something and how he was probably just settling for her as Marinette because she looked like Ladybug
- So she breaks up with him (maybe she’s out brooding and Chat Noir sees her and asks what’s wrong, and she says that she’s going to break up with her boyfriend because he doesn’t like her, knowing that he’s her boyfriend. He obviously tries to defend himself but she shuts him down, and he can’t argue too much without “compromising” his identity, so he knows it’s coming and it hurts less, and it’s not like she was wrong.)
- And by then she looks to Luka, but she was too late and he was already in a relationship with Kagami
- She gets confronted by Lila in the bathroom who tries mocking her saying that Adrien broke up with her, but she corrects her and says that she broke up with him because he’s unfaithful (Lila redemption maybe? Or at least she backs off after hearing about that because she wouldn’t want to be in a relationship with him if he’s going to have a side chick. idk)
- Obviously, word spreads like a wildfire and the entire school knows that Adrien was flirting with someone else while in a relationship with her (Adrien doesn’t know)
- The pitying looks get to Marinette (even Alya’s reassurances start to get on her nerves), so when Jagged Stone comes back to her asking for her to design his costumes for his next tour, she agrees and takes Kalkki with her
- (things are a bit tense between her and Chat Noir and she now takes absolutely none of his flirting, shutting him down harshly each time he even mentions anything that isn’t professional)
- They get stranded in Gotham after a hurricane or something and have to take shelter there, only able to stay in the city (or maybe a rogue attack at the airport? Idk I’ll workshop it)
- To change the scenery, he invites her to meet an old friend of his, Bruce Wayne. They hang out a lot since they can’t go anywhere else (she does occasionally disappear to deal with akumas)
- She ends up hanging out with Damian and they bond over sketching and stuff, falling in love slowly
- He goes to his siblings for help because he doesn’t understand what he’s feeling, and they give him the courage to ask her out
- So they start dating, which is all good and fun until the travel ban is lifted or whatever and they continue on with the tour, but now Mari and Dami facetime every day
- Obviously, she still fights akumas, but they’re more spread out now, something that is explained by Hawkmoth getting old and Mayura getting weaker
- Eventually, the tour ends at the end of summer (or something like that) and she goes back to Paris.
- They defeat Hawkmoth like embarrassingly quickly because he had mellowed in his old age and realized that this was not a good idea, so he surrenders and is placed in prison for like 15 years ish, but they keep the media quiet and say that he’s in prison for like embezzling or tax evasion (because think of the economic problems that would be caused by announcing him as Hawkmoth… yikes)
- Chat Noir immediately reveals his identity to her and she tells him that she already knew and he asks why she didn’t do anything about it and she detransforms and says that once she figured out that her ex-boyfriend had a secret identity and was using it to declare his love to his partner once a day, a partner that he didn’t know was actually his girlfriend, she lost interest because she deserves more than someone who was pretending to be interested in one side of her and trying to get with the other side, not even stopping when he started dating her or when she said she had a boyfriend.
- She takes the ring from him and things are tense between them, but luckily they’re seniors and graduate soon.
- As soon as they graduate, she moves to Gotham and Damian proposes or something idk
Chapter 20: Idk What this is
Summary:
Daminette
Chapter Text
- So Marinette Dupain-Cheng is actually Marie Al-Ghul, married to Damian.
- He’s able to get out but she isn’t.
- Talia sends her to Paris and she gets adopted by Tom and Sabine, who are normal. She acts like a completely normal person but still goes to the league every summer
- Blah blah, same events as the show
- (real plot now)
- So, Marinette leaves the league (like a mutual breakup) and six months later she gets a job as like Tim’s right hand man at WE or something (like, starts as assistant, but she ends up doing his job for him and boosting sales so he promotes her)
- She’s at WE so she can be close to Damian organically
- And she’s been like saving Tim from assassins and kidnappings all that stuff (and totally knows about the family business)
- (also, Tim totally tries to ask her on a date and then she has to explain that she’s married and shows him the ring around her neck [a ring that Damian made for her] at one point he also asks about the gap in her file before she was adopted and she makes up some story about how she was living on the streets in China when Sabine saw her and took her in)
- She’s about to make contact with Damian when she gets a call from Talia (during work hours)
- “Your mother-in law is causing some drama back here”
- “When isn’t she. Is it an actual problem.”
- “You’re the bond of the family. It hasn’t been the same since you left for Gotham. They’ll listen to you.”
- “I’ll be there in 15 hours.”
- So they want her to be the new Demon Head and aren’t listening to Talia since Marie left (since they’ve seen her more than Damian, they consider her more worthy or something)
- Something happens and Damian gets kidnapped by the Joker and like livestreams it or something and Marie busts in, full assassin garb and shoots him and the camera before helping Damian. When he wakes up, he doesn’t recognize her at first but then she shows him the ring and they have like a heart to heart
- Damian says that she was the only person he allowed himself to love, but he thought she was dead in Slade’s attack (-his mother faked Marie’s death)
- Marie explains that she’s always been alive, but she couldn’t go out and find him while she was under the League or Hawkmoth (Chat Blanc but with Damian instead of Adrien)
- They kiss and she tells him that they want her to be the Demon Head, but she doesn’t want that, she just wants him
- They kiss and ummmm and afterwards she tells him that she has to leave in the morning and he tells her to wake him before she goes. (she can’t be with him until she leaves the League for good, and the whole reason she’s in Gotham is to be close to him)
- She wakes him and gets ummm a goodbye uh huh
- And then she goes back to her job and does her regular job things
- Another assassin tries to kill Tim, but she makes quick work of it.
- Then she decides to email Talia and denies the offer of heading the League (something which she probably shouldn’t do on a company computer using the Wayne wifi but it’s a plot hole that I’ll allow)
- A week passes and everything is normal, but she hasn’t gotten a response.
- She comes back from getting Tim a coffee and he’s in a meeting with his entire family (including Damian, who doesn’t recognize her) and Talia is also there (but doesn’t recognize her)
- She acts normal and gives Tim his coffee and asks if he wants his meeting to be moved up while Talia is threatening the whole family because she wants Al-Ghul and she knows that she’s been in contact. They’re obviously confused and she starts getting frustrated and puts a knife to Marinette’s throat and says that if they don’t tell her where Marie is, she’ll kill her
- Marinette is very much not on board with this action and tells her as much, disarming her and complaining that this could’ve been an email
Chapter 21: Ummm idk
Summary:
either arranged marriage Daminette or siblings
Chapter Text
- So Marinette Dupain-Cheng is actually Marie Al-Ghul
- After slade’s attack she was believed to be dead (to Damian) and believes it’s for the better
- She’s placed as an active agent in paris, taking the guise of Marinette Dupain-Cheng and getting rid of the real one (acting every second of every day)
- Everything’s the same, blah blah blah
- But then darkseid happens and tim goes to Paris because he’s heard whispers of someone who’s really good with this kind of stuff.
- Marinette isn’t happy that he’s here and kinda gives away her identity as Damian’s wife but then says that she’ll do what she can
- A month and a half later, Bruce comes to paris and thanks her for saving his life. She tells him that he can show his thanks by leaving her alone.
- A bit later, Dick just shows up and says that he knows and that Damian has gone missing and that maybe she knows where he is (they’ve exhausted all their other resources)
- She finds him tied up by the Joker and kills the joker. Damian sees her and recognizes her and they have a heart to heart (literally the exact same as the other one) and she spends the night with him after her confession but she tells him that she can’t stay
- A few months pass and then Hawkmoth (under the supervision of the league-meaning Marinette does know who he is) entices Jonathan Crane to ditch the league and join him (the league hasn’t defeated hawkmoth yet because he’s good at getting potential traitors to the league unknowingly)
- So, he breaches his contract and goes mia for a bit before he’s spotted in Paris (marinette has set up a database that would set off a sound when his face is shown on any camera, private or public) and she gets the order to kill him
- She renounces tikki (because her kwami doesn’t know that she’s an assassin, and if she does then she doesn’t mind, but marinette still doesn’t want her to be there) temporarily and grabs a duffle bag before going to a bar
- Using her fake id, she makes it in and then changes into her disguise in the bathroom, the bartender giving her a nod (implying that she’s been there a lot) with red hair, a bit of contouring, some colored contacts, and some fake eyebrows, she’s good to go
- She starts up a conversation with Crane and then asks if he wants to go somewhere private. Obviously he tries to kiss her (but that would kill her because of the magic bond between her and Damian) but she just teases him instead (she is also underage. That’s a good point to make here) and eventually leads him to a warehouse where she drops the act and tells him that the league has taken note of his breach of contract (in removing his tracker and going off-continent to work with another villain without informing them) and removes his head
- She also starts working with Bruce and making a plan to get her out of the league
- A few months later, Damian shows up at the school under the name Thomas Robinson, something that she didn’t know about because he did it impulsively and didn’t tell anyone else
- Of course she sees right through that flimsy name and (acting as the class president) goes to get his schedule from the principal. But when she gives it to him, she’s written something in Arabic (be careful eyes and ears everywhere). He narrows his eyes at her, but she doesn’t break character
- She manages to find out what he’s there for, because jonathan crane was last spotted in Paris and then went missing
- She’s about to respond when she gets a text from talia with the order to kill him, leaving the room and putting on her assassin’s garb. She knows that she’s not going to actually kill him, but she does need to remove the bomb that’s in both of their arms (task force x style to make sure they stay in line)
- Kagami, though, is also an assassin and gets to Damian first and is threatening him and lunges with her katana, but Marinette jumps in the way and takes the blow. Damian now recognizes her as Marie
- She kills kagami and slices her arm and damians, removing the bomb and telling him that they have to go.
- She calls tim and says that their timeframe has moved up to the next twenty minutes (thats how long it will take for more assassins to come) and they work with what they got.
- As they leave the room, Marie takes the ring and hands it to Damian (not a good idea to have both at one time and his soul is suited for it) and grabs the miracle box from her room before they head to the agreste manor and stealthily take the peacock and butterfly miraculous, as well as the grimoire
- So then they leave and all is well and good in gotham
- (idk, maybe she lives in the watchtower, that’s a hard place to be attacked by an assassin)
- repurpose some plot points for Imitation: the guardian
Chapter 22: The Twin Ring Conspiracy
Summary:
Felinette? kinda senti-Adrien
Notes:
I'm pretty sure that this is actually the name of a fic, but I haven't read it, so idk if it'll be the same (probably not lol)
Chapter Text
- So basically this is marionette somehow post chat blanc or something, who knows that adrien is chat noir, and is trying to piece together how them being in love gets him akumatized.
- Somehow she relates it to the twin rings and gets suspicious (does she also know Gabriel’s identity?) and from there she reasons that Emilie was using the peacock brooch and that’s why she got sick and the thing was one of the rings.
- Because she thinks that the only way for that to happen (Adrien being akumatized despite being happily in love) is if he were ordered to/ couldn’t refuse
- Basically, she just over thinks her way into the conclusion
- So the next day at school, she approaches adrien and Asks for Felix‘s number. She proceeded to call him and tell him about her theory. He says that he’ll be in Paris in a week. The class is confused. When he gets there she runs down the context behind it and he makes her try on his copy of the ring, which she can feel has an amuk inside.
- So from there Felix decides to stay in Paris, even joining her school to help with the theory, with the condition that they must fake date (but he’s all weird about it, like How he was with ladybug).
- Kinda Piggybacking off of that idea
- But Felix somehow gets Marinette’s help to break into the Agreste mansion so he can get the ring, and Marinette knows that Gabriel has the grimoire behind the painting (Adrien mentioned it) so she agrees and they break into the mansion.
- When she finds the grimoire, she also finds the peacock miraculous, which Felix looks at, and she pins him against the wall with her arm on his throat and tells him that if he tells anyone about this they’ll find pieces of his body floating in the seine.
- Or, Marinette has been keeping an eye on the Agrestes for a while, and she’s like 80% certain that Gabriel Agreste is Hawkmoth.
- So, she fakes a crush on Adrien (obviously this wouldn’t happen immediately after they met) in hopes of getting closer.
- Somehow Felix finds out (?) but he doesn’t necessarily know about the miraculous, he just knows that Marinette is also interested in breaking in. So he proposes that they work together to sneak into the mansion, and after thinking it over, Marinette agrees.
- They’re in the mansion, and it’s almost laughably easy for them to sneak in, and they decide to split up to get their separate wants (Felix just knows that Marinette wants something [a material object] from the Agrestes and has been faking a crush on Adrien, he does not know what she wants, he just sees an opportunity).
- She uses a mirage (because she brings the fox miraculous with her) to cover herself from the security cameras and steals the miraculous and the grimoire from behind the safe (maybe the whole reason she suspects is because Adrien elaborates when he finds the grimoire that he found it hidden behind a painting).
- She waits for Felix at the rendezvous point (right outside Adrien’s room, where there’s a slight blind spot in the cameras, this is kinda important [there’s also no cameras in Adrien’s room]) and lets go of the mirage.
- Felix finally comes back (from Gabriel’s room?) and he has the other twin ring. They get out and immediately go their separate ways.
- The next day, Felix joins the class (idk why, maybe its some sort of month-long study abroad [he lives in England]) and Gabriel storms in, police following, immediately pointing a finger and accusing Felix of robbing his house. Something about how the last time he was there, he stole a ring, and this time he stole the other one.
- Felix doesn’t have a defense because they have him on camera (and Gabriel can’t admit what the other things were that were stolen), so he lists Marinette as an accomplice.
- Marinette scoffs and says that if he were going to lie about her, he shouldn't have done it about the night that she was at a sleepover with literally every girl in her grade
- (exposition about how she made another illusion of herself, and when she got the peacock miraculous, she made her illusion go to the bathroom and it disappeared, a sentimonster taking its place), and has Mylene pull up pictures. Idk where it goes after that.
- Or she just has everyone cover for her (photoshopping her into the pictures, using pictures that she took once she got home from the heist) and they’re understanding (maybe she enacts the girl code)
Chapter 23: The Brother Conspiracy
Summary:
siblings Jasonette, potential for Felinette/ Adrienette (but those areas would need to be more fleshed out), Guardian!Marinette
Chapter Text
- So, Marinette is actually Mary Ann Todd, Jason’s biological sister.
- Bruce adopted her at first, but it went through because he thought that Gotham was too dangerous for her and he knew a couple in Paris that wanted a child (Sabine and Tom- changes name to Marinette to fit in).
- When Jason dies, Alfred calls her and lets her know, and invites her to the funeral.
- So, she shows up (is Felix there? Because Jason Todd would also be fairly famous. So he might be there, idk if it actually would matter), and the “bodyguards” (since they’re the waynes and don’t want anyone trying anything during a funeral) have strange tattoos (league of assassins) and don’t let her in at first, only allowing her to enter when Alfred comes over. They chat a bit and then the funeral happens blah blah.
- Skip to the end of the funeral, Mary hangs out after the crowd dies down a bit, and goes over to the body (it’s an open-casket funeral). She’s like crying on him, and is kneeling or something, and is really sad, until she thinks she sees him breathe, and she lets herself have a bit of hope, and reaches out with her ladybug powers (creation-ya know) to try and sense his lifeforce, and it’s barely there, but she tugs and is able to pull him back and heals him completely.
- She starts to call for a doctor/ Alfred, but he shushes her. And she is really crying and puts their foreheads together or something and it’s sad. They start talking about how this is great and she’ll call Bruce, but he coughs or something and says no, he doesn’t want to go back to that house.
- Something about how he was fooling himself if he ever thought he was one of them, and this proved it, because the first Robin never had to have a funeral. And she agrees (probably just to placate him) and says that she’ll help him start again.
- (Maybe she still calls Alfred because she knows that he’ll find out either way and he would be mad at her if she didn’t tell him that Jason was still alive, and she knows that he’ll be able to keep this a secret.)
- Timeskip of like a week, and she’s back in Paris.
- (idk if her friends know that she was out of school for a funeral, or like, maybe Lila’s lying about knowing Jason Todd and it’s so sad that he died and Nino knows that he’s Marinette’s brother and is about to go off, or maybe it’s a mix of both, where Lila lies about Marinette being out of school to like do drugs or something, but everyone in the class knows that she’s at a funeral. Idk if it actually fits into the story though).
- Anyways, Marinette’s days are normal, but she starts getting paranoid on her walk from school, and people (specifically Nino and Adrien) take note of this (and Felix, if I decide that he’s actually necessary for the story. I don’t think he is, since he would only exist to replace Adrien and wouldn’t provide anything substantial plot-wise) and start walking her home.
- She constantly feels like there’s eyes on her, to the point where she’s almost scared to go to sleep or transform.
- She’s walking home (alone) from school one day when an assassin (in like the stereotypical garb and stuff) drops down and tries to kill her. Luckily, Chat Noir is nearby (idk why though-is it important?) and is able to save her (they work together?).
- Before the assassin runs off, she catches a glimpse of a symbol (do they have tattoos? Or am I making that up just for the plot?) and she recognizes it as the same one from the funeral.
- So she makes a call to Kagami, who’s mother was an assassin, and asks if the League has any injection or something that can simulate death without actually killing the person (think Nick Fury in CATWS), and she starts talking about it, trading theories (is this more implied and we are told it when she tells Jason the theories that Lady Tsurgi had over the phone [don’t repeat information-makes for a boring story])
- Anyways, she gets sucked into the conspiracy, turning her room into like a conspiracy theorist’s room (you know the look), and somehow comes to the conclusion that Talia al Ghul formed a temporary alliance with the Joker (or something idk), allowing him to “kill” Jason Todd, but giving him the serum before hand, or she went into the building after it exploded (am I getting this right? It’s been a while), found Jason barely living, gave him the injection, and had every intent of using him as an assassin (because of his upbringing from Bruce, she knows that he would make a fine leader, and the League needs some strong leaders [she’ll psychologically manipulate him into thinking that Bruce allowed him to die or something to get him loyal] because there’s talks of a schism [foreshadowing Slade?]).
- Idk where else to go with this, but she tries to tell Bruce about it, but he doesn’t believe her in his grief, and suggests that she’s also just grieving (because he doesn’t know that Jason is still alive) and her mind is trying to find some sort of closure.
- Where to go from there? Uhhhh. Maybe she teams up with Nightwing and Robin 3.0 (who Jason doesn’t hate, because he remembers being in the same position, and how Batman will always need a Robin) to track down the League and take them down, working without Batman knowing.
- Obviously, he finds out and kinda gets, well, not mad, more disappointed, because he wants Marinette to move on with her life and not throw it away chasing shadows in some sick imitation of closure.
- And she reveals that Jason is alive, and he’s justifiably angry at her, but she explains it all, including how it was his request to not let him know
- Plays a little bit more on Jason’s fears on not fitting in (because at least Dick knew how to act, Jason was a street kid, and even Bruce’s new kid was Timothy Drake, someone who already came from wealth)
- Do we switch to Bruce’s pov? For him trying to track down jason and kinda looking at everyone in his house (that he thought he trusted) but lied to him about the death of his son
- And then he shows up where Jason works (I get high school english teacher vibes) and just looks at how much happier he looks when he’s not a Wayne
- And leaves without being seen
- And then I really don’t know where to go from there
- Maybe the “team” (Mary, Dick, Tim, maybe Alfred) is concerned and stressed in the Batcave because Bruce hasn’t been heard from in ~24 hours since he found out
- And then he comes in and everybody perks up and he starts talking strategies to destroy the League, asking Marinette what her theories were again (she has a few but she highlights the two that really stood out)
- Blah blah, their attack coincides with Slade, but instead of fleeing, Talia tries to make a last stand, using the reveal of Damian to try and throw him off guard (both mentally and emotionally)
- But Marinette gets to be the one who kills her (does she have access to the miraculous? Or just the ladybug? Because she could totally use the fox in this situation to cover herself)
- Idk how it ends, but I think that’s decent so far
Chapter 24: The Belle of Gotham
Summary:
slight Tim Drake-Wayne/ Marinette Dupain-Cheng. Potential assassin!Marinette. Biological brother Jason Todd. She was "adopted" by Diana Prince, but she wouldn't show much in the fic, mostly in passing
Chapter Text
- Marinette is Mary Anne Todd, Jason’s sister. She is adopted with Jason after he tries to steal Batman’s tires
- She charms everyone, and is friends with Timothy and hangs out with him on the rooftops, stalking Batman and Robin after Jason takes over the role
- They are adorable
- After Jason dies, Bruce thinks that it would be better for her to live somewhere else, so he asks Diana to take her in as her ward, moving her to Paris
- Diana is her official guardian, but because she has to leave for Justice League stuff so often, she sets her up with the owners of a bakery that she frequents
- But Diana still trains her when she’s in town
- Nobody really knows anything about her, and she takes the name Marinette to fit in a bit more (maybe people are a bit mean towards her because she doesn’t have a “french” name, so she changes it)
-
Everything goes as normal, with Marinette becoming Ladybug
- This will probably be skipped over
- But when she tells Chat Noir that she’s in love with someone else, she means it
- Hawkmoth gets defeated and kills Adrien (or maybe he turns Adrien to his side and he goes to jail, but he really doesn’t have a place in this fic), and the akuma class goes on a trip to celebrate, being invited to a Wayne Gala
- Bruce does not know about Hawkmoth and the akuma attacks, and neither does anyone from outside of Paris (Diana knows, and her and Marinette agreed to not tell anyone)
- At the airport in Gotham, they look at everyone’s passport and id, and the guy kinda spaces out when he looks at Marinette’s and asks for legal name and date of birth. Marinette leans in and whispers Mary Anne Todd (she never legally changes it, not even when she was adopted by Bruce for a little bit), and the guy’s eyes kinda go wide and he looks at her ids before welcoming her back to Gotham and asking how long she’s planning on being back. She laughs and says it’s just a class trip
-
She meets timothy again during their tour of Wayne Tower, but doesn’t realize it until he calls her out
- He calls her the Belle of Gotham as a kid because he called her the belle of the ball, and then at her look he corrected himself to the Belle of Gotham, because she outshined them all
- “Well, if it isn’t the Belle of Gotham” Marinette quickly turns around, a huge/ fond smile on her face. “Timothy” she says, almost in awe as she takes in his appearance. He chuckles under her attention. “Hello again Mary Anne” She looks around, making sure no one heard him, before chuckling and shaking her head. “You’ve gotten taller,” she says craning her head to look him in the eye, “I’m not so sure that I like it.” “Oh?” “I have enough problems, I don’t need to add neck problems to that list”
- Maybe she also politely says hi to Bruce (who comes to see the class)
- It’s nighttime and she’s a little restless (maybe missing Jason a little) and so she decides to sneak out onto the rooftops and goes to the same roof that she used to go to with Timothy (she calls him Timothy, not tim), and someone lands on the roof behind her. She doesn’t have to turn around to know that it’s Red Robin. She calls out to him (not using his actual name) and says that the last time they sat there together things were so simple. He tells her that she shouldn’t be up there, and she turns around and looks at him, saying that she was up there as a child. He turns off his comm and sits next to her, sighing a bit. She leans her head on his shoulder and sighs. He looks at her fondly and then she says that she misses him. They don’t elaborate on that at all, but they don’t need to. They also don’t talk after that
- The next day is the gala, and Marinette is nervous and spends the whole day getting ready. She goes to the gala and nobody really pays attention to her until one reporter shouts that she’s Mary Anne Todd and they all start crowding around her until Tim comes and saves her from them. Her class is confused
- Maybe she doesn’t come with the rest of the class. Assassin route, coming just to pay her respects to the city before she bids it goodbye for the last time
- At the gala, they’re laughing and stuff and then the joker shows up and says that he heard that there was still a Todd that he missed (or something) and he requests a dance from Mary Anne. She’s a bit annoyed but doesn’t decline his offer and dances with him, much to everyone’s dismay.
- The joker gets a bit creepy and says that she’s just as lovely as they all remembered
- She reveals that she was the one who told him of her presence at the gala and lured him here to kill him in revenge for what he did to her brother. She doesn’t make any move, telling him that she’ll let him have the first hit (and thus making it self-defense and she wouldn’t be able to be charged with 1st degree murder even though it totally is). He gets bored and sets his jaw before swinging and she takes the hit and attacks him completely, noticing that the Waynes left already. She curses and takes out her knife and slices herself discreetly before she stabs the joker
- Everything goes quiet when she gets up but he doesn’t. The bats rush in and stop and stare before demanding to know what she’s done.
- She gives them a blank stare
- Cut to her with a shock blanket as the police come by, asking for her statement. Tim is there as well, and he’s refusing to look at her. Then he quietly asks why she did it, and she scoffs and says that he killed her brother
- He gives her a blank look after that
- The police release her afterwards and Bruce drives her back to her hotel. It’s quiet the entire ride back, but he asks one question. Why. She goes through the statistics of how many people the Joker has killed, how he should’ve been killed years ago. Then Bruce snaps and says that she doesn’t make that decision.
- She’s quiet for a bit and looks out the window. A little bit later she starts talking about her life in paris. How Diana sent her to live with two bakers who treated her as their own, and how she met Talia al Ghul shortly after she moved there. Turns out, her new mom was an ex-assassin, and Talia took it upon herself to train Marinette, on top of the training that she had from Diana.
- Bruce ends up driving right past her hotel and instead takes her in a completely different direction. She complains and stuff, but he’s dead silent the whole time. They arrive at an apartment building and Bruce drags her upstairs and knocks on a door. There’s like shuffling and cursing on the other side before the door swings open and it’s jason.
- He obviously recognizes Marinette as his sister and brings them inside. After a few seconds of quietness he says that he saw what happened with the Joker on the news. Marinette is strangely quiet the whole time
- They leave after a while, and Marinette is quiet until the car, when she asks Bruce how long. He plays dumb and she yells at him. He says he returned six months after he died. She looks at him in disbelief and then gets out of the car and starts walking (maybe she breaks his nose). Bruce follows in his car and tries to talk out the window, but she ignores him and eventually she loses him.
- She goes to a bar and gets as drunk as possible. Someone (maybe Dick Grayson, who she should also have a good relationship with as she was his sibling for about a year), comes up to her and tells her that he understands why she did it. She tells him that he doesn’t understand anything, and he says ok
- They drink in silence after that
divergence starting at the Wayne gala
- Joker comes in and says that he knows that there's a hero in the midst. Obviously, everyone freezes a bit until he looks directly at Marinette and says that he got a little hint from a friend of his in Paris that she had quite the heroic streak, and then he says something about a mouse
- She distracts him and mouths "go" to the Waynes, saying that she doesn't know what he's talking about, since there were no heroes in Paris
- Joker laughs and says that that's what she would want them to believe, but she wasn't going to fool him
- he reaches towards her face, cupping it harshly, and saying that a little butterfly told him that she was the person to look for, and he has unfinished business with her, and so she should just give him the necklace (the mouse miraculous). She sees that bats getting ready to enter so she stomps on his foot really harshly, causing him to pull back, and then she does the black widow move from Iron Man 2, distracting people (henchmen) enough for the bats to get in
- they defeat the villains and then try to question Marinette, but she's like oop gotta go. Alfred corners her and offers her a ride, and she has to accept out of social obligation
- they really corner her when she's at the manor (but Alfred gives her a head start and warns her about the areas that they like to frequent) and ask her how she knows how to do that and what the joker meant when they said that she was a hero. And Bruce brings up how he sent her to Paris to be safe and that kinda makes her blow up at him because that's his job and she was supposed to be safe with him, and Jason was supposed to be safe with him, but then he went and turned him into a child soldier and so he has no room to judge what she was doing in Paris
- he grits his teeth and asks again what was happening in Paris and she glares at him and tells him to ask Diana before storming off and Tim goes after her
- she goes to the library (? or maybe her old room from when she lived with Bruce) and breaks down on the floor (Tim hugs her from behind and maybe tucks his head in her neck- is this the right characterization? probably not) saying that it was all so much easier when Jason was alive. And she starts reminiscing with Tim and that kinda leads to their heads getting closer and they're sharing breath and then they start leaning in and then Marinette pulls back and looks behind him, and there's Jason and she's shocked and excited for a minute and then looks at tim and asks how long he's been alive
- Bruce show up behind Jason and says that they should probably have a long talk, and Marinette follows him silently to the Batcave (the others also follow)
- bruce explains everything, and Marinette is shocked and feels betrayed and maybe slaps him
- idk where else it goes from there
- maybe the standard oh Marinette lives with the Waynes now and falls in love with Tim idk
- because Marinette isn't Bruce's daughter, Diana is technically her legal guardian, and they weren't siblings when she was adopted by bruce.
- but if you have to say technically...
- anyways
- because Marinette isn't Bruce's daughter, Diana is technically her legal guardian, and they weren't siblings when she was adopted by bruce.
