Chapter 1: Witch

Chapter Text

Summary: Luz thinks Amity wouldn't like her as a Human, so she decides to do something about it.

Luz was walking around the outside of Hexside. She was very nervous about what she was about to do.

"Alright, Luz, you can do this. Just go up to the purple haired witch and tell her how you feel. Alright, you can-" Luz turned around and saw Amity standing in front of her, "A-A-Amity! W-w-what are you doing here... at Hexside... the school... we both go to... I've been talking for too long."

Amity stood there, very still. She heard quite a bit of what Luz said. Amity turned red and walked away, very flustered and confused. Luz just stood there and watched Amity leave, before finally getting her bearings back.

"Amity, wait, I don't know how much of that you heard, but-"

"Luz, I... I just need some time to think." Amity said.

Amity walked away and Luz just stood there.

"Sucks, doesn't it?"

Luz's mood soured and her tone switched from upset to annoyed.

"What the hell do you want, Boscha?" Luz asked.

"Oh, I just couldn't resist seeing this. Did you really think she would fall for you?" Boscha said, "I mean, she's a powerful, influential, wealthy, intelligent, and beautiful witch and you... are just a pathetic, weak, powerless, Human. She could be with anyone she wants. So, I'll ask again, why do you think she would fall for you?"

Luz looked like she was on the verge of tears. Boscha's word stung, they got into Luz's head. Why would Amity ever fall for Luz? Amity's too cool for her.

"Oh, is the little human going to cry?" Boscha asked, "Want to cry to your mommy? Oh, wait, you can't can you?"

Luz took a few steps, which resulted in Boscha following her.

"Hey, I'm not done with you, yet!" Boscha said, "Where are you going?!"

Luz stopped and turned around.

"I'm just making sure I'm not on school property anymore." Luz said.

"Why?"

"So, I can do this without getting in trouble." Luz said.

Luz winded up and threw a punch right at Boscha, breaking her nose and knocking her out.

"Don't talk about my mother, bitch." Luz said, walking away.

She walked to the Owl House and kicked the door open.

"Eda!" She screamed, "I need your help!"

Eda leaned out of the kitchen.

"What is it, Kiddo?" Eda asked.

"Can you replace a human heart with a witch's heart?" Luz asked.

"Why?" Eda asked.

"Because there's no way Amity would ever like me as a human!" Luz said, "She's a cool, powerful, and wealthy witch, and I'm an uncool, weak, and poor Human!"

"Kid, I think you're taking this a little too far."

"Don't tell me what I'm taking too far! Just answer the question!" Luz said.

Eda took a step back at Luz's outburst. She sighed and went to the fridge, pulling out a heart in a jar.

"Alright, get on the table." Eda said.

"Why do you have that in the fridge?"

"Do you want to get a new heart or not?" Eda asked.

Luz nodded and got on the table.

"Alright, now, this might be a little painful." Eda pulled out a giant knife, "I have to cut you open."

At Blight Manor, Amity was thinking about what happened earlier. What did Luz mean by how she felt? Did... did she feel the same as Amity? Did Luz like her?

"Everything is so confusing." Amity said.

"It doesn't have to be."

Amity looked at her door frame and saw Emira and Edric.

"What do you two want?"

"To help our little sister." Emira said, walking over to the bed and sitting next to her, "You seem to be confused."

"Fear not, you little lesbian, your older siblings will help you!" Edric said.

Amity shoved them off her bed.

"I don't need your help." Amity said, "I just... need to talk to Luz."

Amity ran out of her room and out of the Manor.

"Go, you little gay tomato!" Edric said, "Your one true love is waiting for you!"

"Alright, Ed, that's enough." Emira said, "Let's go follow her."

"Already ahead of you, dear sister." Edric said.

The two made spell circles and turned into birds. They flew out of the Manor and followed Amity. Amity ran to the Owl House and practically knocked over Hooty.

"Eda! Where is Luz!?"

Eda came in, wiping a bloody knife, with blood on her clothes and hands.

"Oh, hey, Boots. Sorry, you'll have to wait, I just finished up on Luz." Eda said.

"Finished with what!?" Amity said.

"Well, the Kid figured that you would never like her because she was Human, so she had me change that." Eda said, precariously waving the knife, "Anyway, the kid lost a lot of blood, and it took a lot of Healing Glyph's, but she'll live. She's currently sleeping on the table... may or may not have used a sleep spell. You're welcome to wait though."

Amity walked into the kitchen, seeing Luz on the table. A blanket was covering her body, most likely because Luz had no shirt on, and because it would keep the scar from being exposed. Amity grabbed Luz's hand and rubbed her thumb over it.

"The second you wake up, I'm telling you how I feel and I'm giving you the biggest kiss there is." Amity said, looking at the floor, "No matter what you are. Human, witch, Ghost, Mermaid, Dragon, Dryad, Zombie, Werewolf, it doesn't matter. Luz... I love you."

"You mean it?" A quiet voice asked.

She looked up and saw Luz looking at her. Amity smiled and nodded her head.

"Then come here and teach me how to do a love spell." Luz said, barely above a whisper.

Amity moved closer and the two kissed. Out the window, Emira and Edric still in the bird forms, watched.

"Aw, Mittens got a girlfriend." Emira said.

"It's about time." Edric said.

Behind them, Hooty rose up.

"Hello, little birds. You look... delicious. Hoot Hoot!"

"Fly!" Emira said.

The two flew off, with Hooty chasing after them.

Chapter 2: Ghost

Summary:

Luz finally manages to get a house of her own, little does she know... it's haunted... by a really cute ghost.

Chapter Text

Luz put the last box down in her new house. She got it really cheap for some reason. Luz walked to her bed and laid on it. After a long day of unpacking, she wanted nothing more than to get a good night's sleep in her new house. Luz laid down and pulled the blanket over her. She closed her eyes and began to sleep... then the clock fell off the wall. Luz woke up and looked at the broken clock. She got out of bed and looked at it.

"Damn faulty nails." Luz mumbled, "I'll deal with that tomorrow."

Luz went back to sleep, when the door slowly opened. She looked at the door before it violently slammed shut.

"Oh, this isn't normal." Luz said.

The rest of the night wasn't very eventful, but it took a while before Luz got back to sleep. She walked down the steps and sat at the table, very tired.

"I'm so glad I'm self-employed." Luz said, when she noticed the chair opposite of her move, "Whatever you are, can you wait until after breakfast before you haunt me?"

Nothing seemed to happen for a couple of minutes.

"Thank you." Luz said, as she turned on the stove.

After breakfast, Luz was spending the morning cleaning up the boxes from her move. She planned on bringing them down to the basement, but for some reason, the door wouldn't move.

"Huh, that's weird, the basement isn't supposed to have a lock." Luz said, "Guess I'll have to put the boxes in the attic."

Luz went upstairs and pulled the ladder down. She climbed the ladder, with the boxes in hand, and placed them in the attic. After placing them down, she went back to the ladder, when she noticed a knife. This wasn't some small box cutter; this was a butcher's knife. She picked it up and looked at it.

"Why is this up here?" She asked aloud.

Luz didn't have much time to think about it, when whatever was here with her knocked the boxes over violently. Luz quickly put the knife down and put her hands up.

"Okay, I get it, you don't like that knife." Luz said, "I'm going back downstairs, I didn't mean to anger you."

Luz went down the ladder and closed the hatch to the attic. In the attic, a girl in her twenties manifested. She wore a black shirt dress, red leggings, black shoes, had purple hair and piercings, and most importantly, her body was translucent, with a large knife wound in her head with blood still visible on her skin. She walked over to the knife and looked at it. She closed her eyes and cried blood.

"Why couldn't they have just accepted me?" She asked.

Downstairs, Luz heard crying coming from the attic, but knew that whatever was here, didn't want her up there. She sat in living room couch and fiddled with her thumbs.

"I don't know who you are, I have a good idea on what you are, but I don't know who." Luz said, "But... if you want to show yourself and tell me what's upsetting you, I will do whatever it takes to help."

Luz doesn't know how long she was on the couch, but she knows that when she woke up, the girl was sitting on the edge of it. Luz wasn't like most people, she isn't really scared by supernatural beings, so she wasn't really that afraid of her, a little startled by her sudden presence, but not afraid. Luz sat up and looked at her.

"So, you're the one that's haunting this place?" Luz asked.

The girl nodded.

"Can I know your name?"

"My name... is Amity. Amity... Blight."

"Wait, you mean the Amity Blight was went missing like twenty years ago?" Luz asked.

"Yep." Amity said, "Except it wasn't that I went missing, I was murdered."

"Do you... need to find your murderer?"

Amity looked at her.

"No, I don't!" Amity said, "I know exactly who did it, because they spent an hour beating me before they killed me!"

"Who was it?"

"It... was my fucking parents!" Amity said, "They just couldn't stand having a gay daughter and decided to 'Teach me a lesson' by beating me and slamming a meat clever on my fucking head!"

"So... that's what the knife was?"

Amity nodded.

"They... they hid it because the weather would clear the prints from it." Amity said, "That's also why you can't open the door to the basement."

"Why? What's down there?"

Amity looked at the ground.

"... My body." Amity said, "They removed the door and threw me down the steps, that's where they murdered me. After wards, they screwed thick wooden boards on the door frame and put the door back on, making it seem like nothing was wrong."

Amity looked like she was about to cry and Luz moved over. Luz hugged the ghost, which surprised Amity.

"Y-y-you... you can touch me?"

"Yeah, truth is... I've always been able to touch and talk with ghosts." Luz said, "Now dry those tears and just listen to my voice."

"I... I don't want to be alone anymore." Amity said.

"You won't, I'm here from now on. You won't be alone anymore." Luz said, "I'm here for you."

'Well, at least I know why the house was so cheap.' Luz thought.

Chapter 3: Mermaid

Summary:

After a problem during a school trip, Amity is in trouble and Luz is the only one that can help, but it isn't without a cost. Luz has to reveal her deepest secret.

Chapter Text

It was supposed to be a simple trip to an island, nothing was supposed to go wrong. When Eda dropped Luz off this morning, she couldn't help but notice how nervous the girl was about getting on a boat, she just figured it was because of the boiling sea.

"Hey, don't worry about it, Kid, I've done this before, they give everyone a twelve-hour protection spell." Eda said, "Plus it keeps you from drowning... don't ask why I know that."

"It's true Miss Noceda." Principal Bump said, "As long as I am here, my spell will keep everyone safe."

'That's not what I'm worried about.' Luz thought, looking at the water, 'What If I fall in? What if everyone learns the truth.'

"Alright, Kid, have fun, I'll see you after your little trip." Eda said, getting on her staff and flying away.

"Alright, everyone let's get going." Bump said.

Partying, talking with her friends, everything about being on the boat seemed to go well... until a surprise storm popped up. The next thing Luz knew, was her and the rest of the students on the boat were on an island, while the Boat was clearly broken and beached. Luz woke up by the light waves hitting her side. Luz quickly realized where she was and scrambled to get out of the water. She looked at her body and realized she was completely dry.

"The spell must prevent me from getting wet." Luz said, before going over to Principal Bump's unconscious body, "Principal Bump?"

Luz lightly shook him, and he groaned before waking up. Luz helped him up.

"Thank you, Miss Noceda." Bump said, brushing himself off, "That storm came out of nowhere, we need to make sure everyone is safe and then start on repairing the boat."

They went over the list of students that were there and found that only one was missing.

"It seems... Miss Blight isn't here." Bump said, "She must've fallen off when the storm hit. We'll need to find her before the spell wears off."

"So, she could be at the bottom of the ocean?" Luz asked, very afraid for her girlfriend.

"I'm afraid so." Bump said, "But don't worry, as soon as we get the boat fixed-"

"That might be too long!" Luz said, "We need to find her soon!"

"Listen, Luz, I'm sorry, but there's nothing else we can do for now." Bump said.

Luz looked at the ground.

"Remove the spell on me."

"What?"

"I said, remove the spell on me." Luz said.

Bump didn't know what to do, he has never seen a fire in Luz's eyes like this, and knowing that this kid was all but Eda's blood child, he knew she had a plan. He sighed and removed the spell, and Luz sprinted towards the water. The rest of the students watched as she ran, seemingly not affected by the boiling water. The second the water was deep enough; she dove into it.

"That human is suicidal." Boscha said.

Under the water, Luz was swimming as fast as her tail would allow her... okay, so she might be lying about one certain thing... she's a mermaid. Her mom would tell her old stories about mermaids, about how they were hunted to near extinction, and apparently the books here described that in extreme detail. Naturally, Luz was afraid of telling people that she was half fish. Her tail was covered in dark purple scales that covered a majority of her stomach and chest. Her hands were webbed and her nails became claws. The most important part, minus the tail, were the gills on her neck.

"I can't believe I'm some kind of delicacy here." Luz said as she checks around a rock for Amity, "No, she's not there."

Luz swam to another part of the seabed, looking for Amity. She heard water moving behind her and looked behind her.

"H-h-hello?" She asked, "Any... anyone there?"

Luz was getting nervous.

"D-d-despite what everyone thinks, I don't taste that good." Luz said.

She started to swim away when she ran into another girl with a tail. She rubbed her head and looked at the pink scaled girl.

"A-A-Amity?"

"L-L-Luz?" Amity said, "You have a tail!"

"So do you!" Luz said, "Why didn't you tell me you were a mermaid!?"

"Because I was afraid you would kill and cook me!" Amity said, "Why didn't you tell me that YOU were a mermaid!?"

"Because... the same!" Luz said.

The two fish people looked at each other before laughing. The whole situation was ridiculous.

"I hope you know where everyone else is." Amity said, "I hit my head on something when I fell off, it messed with my homing ability, so I'm swimming blindly."

Mermaids have incredible knowledge of the ocean, due to an ability to automatically sense their location. Luz compares it to pigeons and their ability to know their way home.

"Don't worry, I'll get you back there and we can find someone to check on your head." Luz said, swimming ahead, "So, now that we both know about each other's secret, we can have underwater dates! By the way, how did the spell drop?"

Amity chuckled.

"When I woke up, I noticed I was underwater, figured I would do better without the spell, so I removed it." Amity said, "I'm glad you found me though, I thought I would end up stuck in a fishing net after a few hours."

"Not on my watch." Luz said.

Just as Luz said that, the two got stuck in a net.

"Me and my big mouth." She said.

The two were lifted out of the water and moved onto the boat.

"Well, we can't eat these fish... we know them." Eda said to King.

"Eda!?" Luz said, "What are you doing here!?"

"King and I always go fishing this day." Eda said, removing the net, "The real question is, why do you have a tail?"

"And weren't you supposed to be on a trip?" King asked.

"It's... a long story." Luz said.

"Well, we have a lot of time." Eda said, throwing the net back into the water, "So spill, Kid."

"Well... it started when you dropped me off this morning."

Chapter 4: Dragon

Summary:

Amity thought it would be a simple mission, get an ancient artifact, get out, be respected. That didn't work out when she finds the protector's of said artifact.

Chapter Text

Amity felt her back hit a large stone as the beast kept advancing towards her, her Emperor's Coven uniform was ripped and she was bleeding. A small growl emerged from its throat and Amity was afraid of what was about to happen. The massive fangs she saw sticking out of the creature's mouth made her terrified. It opened its mouth, and was about to attack, when another creature, roughly the same size, bit down on its neck. The new creature was different, instead of the black and red scales the other one had, this one had purple and white scales. While the other creature's wings were connected to its arm, the purple creature's wings were connected to its back, usable via a special joint connected to its spinal column. Amity knew what the purple creature was.

"A Dragon?" She said in surprise, "I... I thought they were banished to a far island."

Amity watched as the dragon lifted the other flying creature and threw it with its mouth. Amity took the opportunity to run away from the battle. Amity ran into a cave to hide. She started breathing heavily when she noticed something. She walked over to the wall and looked at the images on it.

"Wait... this is what I'm looking for." Amity said, "Long ago, in the Savage Ages, there was a group that sold their souls in order to gain dangerous power."

On the wall, was the image of someone holding an object and offering it to a dragon. Amity looked at the object and knew that she had to complete her mission. She reached up and grabbed it, pulling it out and making a massive wave of energy and magic come from the opening, and making the lights on the wall dim. There was the sounds of screaming and pain.

"T-t-that's probably nothing." Amity said.

She ran out of the cave, where she was surrounded by a bunch of guards. They had leather pants, straps that formed an X over their torso, and had animal skulls as helmets. In their hands, were spears made from bones, which were pointed at Amity. They spoke in a language that Amity didn't recognize, but she knew the spears pointed at her didn't mean well. Another guard came running with a woman in his arms, she was bleeding from what looked like a claw swipe against her eye. They spoke that language again and motioned to the cave. Several guards poked Amity with their spears, moving her back into the cave while the others focused on the woman. They brought Amity into a large room and put the woman on a stone table in the middle. Another woman, older than the injured one, came in.

"Iko." She said.

The rest of the guards bowed and left. She looked at the woman on the table, Amity had to assume this was the woman's mother or something, seeing as they looked very similar. She turned to Amity and saw the woman had two golden dragon eyes. She walked to Amity, clearly annoyed.

"Hikil, isa fly inco!" She said, getting closer to Amity.

She grabbed Amity by her uniform and slammed her against the wall. She opened her mouth and revealed sharp teeth and forked tongue.

"I... I don't know what you're saying." Amity said, very afraid of the sharp toothed woman.

A growl came from the woman's throat.

"Give. Me. The. Dragon's. Heart." She said.

"Slom." The other woman said, getting up.

The older woman dropped Amity and looked at the woman getting off the table. They started to speak to each other in that language before the injured woman walked over to Amity. She reached into Amity's bag and pulled the glowing sphere.

"You are not allowed here." She said, "You have attempted to steal a sacred item, given to us by the last dragon."

"Last dragon?" Amity said, "I thought they were banished."

"And where did you learn that?" The older woman asked, "We've witnessed the destruction of our Spirit animal, unable to do anything to stop it. They gave us the Dragon's Heart so we can gain the power of them... and then you stole it. Resulting in my daughter getting injured."

"Mama, calm." She said, before looking at Amity, "I am Luz, and this is my mother Camila. She is the Chief of our clan."

"Luz, we do not introduce ourselves to outsiders." Camila said, "Especially ones that hurt the tribe."

The cave started to shake, with a familiar roar, and Luz looked nervous.

"No, Mama, the Death Glider is back." Luz said, "I don't have my powers, I can't fight it!"

"Don't worry, I'll get your powers back." Camila said, taking the Dragon's Heart from Luz, "Everything will be fine."

Luz nodded and went to the front of the cave, grabbing a spear, while Camila ran to place the heart back. She put it in and... nothing happened.

"What?" She said, "Why isn't this working? What needs to be done in order to fix this?!"

Camila looked at it and noticed the power was fading. The only time this happened was when they were first given the Heart.

"If it needs to be recharged, then it needs blood, but none of ours can be used, it needs to be an outsiders." Camila said.

"I'll do it." Amity said.

Camila looked at her. She didn't trust this girl for a second for a second, especially to do this, but... she didn't have a choice.

"You understand, that not only will this recharge it, but it will give you the powers of a dragon, binding you to the tribe."

Amity looked at the object in Camila's hand before hearing the screaming outside, screaming that she caused by trying to take the object.

"I'm sure."

Amity took her knife and poked her finger before putting her hand on the Heart. Outside the Death Glider swung its tail, knocking several guards into the surrounding rocks and trees. It turned its attention back to Luz. It raised its wing, ready to claw Luz, when something bit down on it. Luz looked up and saw a bright green dragon, biting down on the Death Glider's head. Luz felt her power return and turned into her dragon form. She bit down on her tail and the two dragons threw it a few dozen feet. The Death Glider got up and looked at the two massive dragons. Deciding that it would be better to flee instead of fighting and flew away. Luz turned and looked at the new dragon, noticing that it had the same eyes as the girl that tried to steal the Heart. Luz turned back and watched as the other dragon did as well.

"You gave help the Heart." Luz said, "You gave up everything in order to help us?"

Amity nodded and was surprised when Luz hugged her.

"Thank you." Luz said.

"You shouldn't thank me, you lost your eye because of me." Amity said.

"Yeah, but that's why we have two, isn't it?" Luz asked.

Amity chuckled.

"I... I guess so." Amity said, "So, I'm... part of the Tribe now?"

"Yep, and... my mom didn't tell you about the important part did she?" Luz asked.

"Uh, maybe?"

Luz sucked in a breath.

"Well... when an outsider sacrifices their blood to become part of the Tribe, they... are engaged to the most important member... which is me." Luz said, "So... we're... partners."

Amity became very pale, don't get her wrong, Luz was very beautiful, and she wouldn't be against marrying her, but she was very caught off guard by that. Luz barely had time to catch her new fiancé. From the cave entrance, Camila smiled, she needed to get Luz married at some point, and she could tell that her and Amity would get along great. When she was willing to offer her blood, she knew it would kill two birds with one stone.

"Pretty soon, I'll have a grand egg."

Chapter 5: Dryad

Chapter Text

Amity ran into the woods as fast as possible. She needed to get away from her mom. She saw the Owl House coming into view and felt actual hope. She ran up to the door and started pounding on it. It opened and Luz was on the other side.

"A-A-Amity?"

Luz looked at Amity, but she didn't look like she did this morning. Her pale skin was green, her clothes were made of leaves, her hair was made out vines, and her eyes were dark green.

"Oh... my... God."

Luz pulled Amity inside and immediately sat her on the couch.

"EDA!" Luz screamed, "We have a problem!"

Eda came down the stairs and saw Amity.

"Oh man, what happened!?" Eda asked, "Wait, let me guess... the thick bitch?"

"If you mean my mother, then yes." Amity said, "That... that... that bitch cursed me!"

Eda nodded.

"Okay, I'll be right back." Eda said, walking back upstairs.

After a couple of minutes, she returned. Walking down the stairs with a book in her hands.

"This is a book I found when I was looking for a cure to my own curse." Eda said, "It has almost every curse on the Isles, as well as information regarding them. It will probably give you some information about this. So, while I look for it, Luz, you take the walking salad upstairs and calm her down... preferably before she roots into my floor."

Luz and Amity looked down and saw that Amity's feet were becoming roots that were trying to dig into the floor. Luz took Amity's hand and brought her upstairs into her room. Luz and Amity sat on Luz's sleeping bag, an awkward silence forming between them. Luz looked at Amity, who looked like she was about to cry. Luz grabbed Amity's shoulder and pulled her into a hug.

"Everything will be okay." Luz said.

"How!?" Amity asked, "I'm some hideous monster now! My life is over and it's all because of my mom!"

Luz put a hand on Amity's cheek and wiped the tears away.

"I don't think you're a hideous monster." Luz said, "I think you're a beautiful gift from nature."

Amity closed her eyes and nuzzled against the Latina's hand. Luz was one of the few people that Amity enjoyed the touch of. Luz's touch was warm, inviting, there was always a sense of kindness, whereas her own mother's touch was cold, distant, and always had a sense of hatred.

"I promise, nothing will stop me from helping you." Luz said, "I will stand by your side until the day I die."

Amity hugged Luz. She doesn't know what she did to deserve someone as good as Luz, by the Titan she didn't think she deserved it, but she was glad that she had Luz with her. The peaceful moment didn't last as Eda kicked the door open.

"I found out something!" She said, "This is the Dryad Curse. Not particularly dangerous, but there are some problems, mainly in the... physical feature department. Thankfully, this is as far as it goes."

That made Amity feel a little happier. That means she would be like Eda, who's curse was accelerating her age and turning her into a giant mindless beast.

"Well, that's a relief." Amity said.

"Yeah, I think Bitchy McThicc Thighs just wanted you to freak out so she could try and make a deal with you." Eda said, "Probably tell you to stay away from Luz in exchange for a cure."

"Is... is there one?" Amity asked.

Eda looked at her with a sad expression.

"I'm... I'm afraid not." Eda said.

Amity wanted to cry again, but Luz quickly stopped that from happening.

"No, there is something I can do." Luz said, drawing a glyph.

Eda's eyes widened at this.

"Kid, are you sure?"

"It's for Amity, I've never been more sure in my life." Luz said, putting the glyph on Amity's head and pressing her head against hers, "With this spell declared, let the pain be shared."

There was a bright light in the room, practically blinding Eda. When Eda could see again, she was Luz and Amity, the latter looking normal again.

"Well, apart from the green eyes, you two look normal." Eda said, "Alright, good night, I'm too hungover to care about what else you do, just use weed killer if you try and plant seeds."

Eda walked away, leaving the two flustered messes behind.

"So, we're both... cursed now." Amity said.

"Yeah, but I think by splitting this curse, we lose the problems and only gain the cool parts." Luz said, "Like how Eda can become a harpy, maybe we can do cool stuff like that."

Amity chuckled, Luz was always an optimistic person, it really made her happy to be dating her. Amity watched as Luz held out her hands and started growing flowers from them. She handed the bouquet to Amity with a smile.

"For you my dear." Luz said, "Have I ever told you that your eyes remind me of a beautiful green field?"

Amity laughed.

"Well, your eyes remind me of... of... there aren't many things her that are naturally green so I can't say anything." Amity said.

"That's okay, I love you, even if you don't have a cute pick-up line."

Amity and Luz cuddled a little.

"So, now that we have this... connection to plants... want to give a visit to your mom tomorrow?" Luz asked.

"And smack her with a tree?" Amity asked, "Gladly."

The two went to sleep, holding each other close. As long as Luz was near, Amity didn't need to fear anything.

Chapter 6: Zombie

Summary:

Luz figured that she was alone forever, then she found a portal to another world... one that's zombie free... for the most part.

Chapter Text

Luz walked around her hometown. She didn't know what to do honestly, the world was over, zombies have taken over. She was the last Human on earth... was being the key word. She got bitten weeks ago and... well, she's different. She still thinks and moves like a normal human, but she's also a zombie. She fell and sat in the road. She picked up a rock and threw it at her old home.

"I'm an outcast no matter what I am." Luz said, "I was an outcast as a human, and I'm still an outcast as a zombie. Only difference is I'm dead now."

Luz stood up and went into the woods, she always liked the woods when she was alive, and now that she's the only one that can speak anymore, it was nice to get away from all the grunting from other zombies. Luz walked through the woods, finding herself near the old cabin that she used to explore before the apocalypse.

"Good times." Luz said.

Luz nearly fell back in shock when the door suddenly became bright.

"What the hell!?" Luz asked, looking at the door.

She heard an owl and looked down to see a small brown one... with her hand.

"Hey!"

The owl went through the door and Luz groaned. She was questioning on whether she should go through the door or not.

"Fuck it, I'm already dead." Luz said, before running through the door.

On the other side, she heard... talking.

"Finally, you're back!"

Luz looked at the tent opening and looked at it. She saw a woman with bright orange hair with the Owl. She screwed it onto a stick, and it became wood. Luz gasped, which turned to a scream when a hand touched her shoulder. Luz was tossed onto a stool in front of the stand.

"Alright, who are you, and how did you get in the tent?" A woman with green hair asked.

"I... I... your owl took my hand." Luz said, "I was just trying to get it back."

The orange haired woman grabbed Luz's hand and looked at it.

"Well, it's rotting, smells like death, and it's pale." She said, "Definitely yours."

She tossed Luz her hand back and Luz put it back on her wrist. Suddenly, a girl with brown hair walked up.

"Mom, Mama; Dad is having trouble in the workshop back at the manor." She said, before looking at Luz, "Who are you?"

"I... I'm Luz." Luz said, "And you are?"

"I'm Amity Blight-Clawthorne." Amity said, "The youngest daughter of Alador, Odalia, Edalyn."

"And the single gayest girl you will ever meet." Eda said, smirking while leaning against the table.

Amity blushed.

"Mama!" Amity said.

"Just trying to get you a girlfriend, sweetie." Eda said.

"Edalyn, please stop before the girl becomes a puddle." Odalia said.

"Puddle?" Luz asked.

"She's cursed." Odalia said, "Nothing really bad, she just melts when she gets flustered."

"And it's the cutest thing ever." Eda said, "She has a little bucket and-"

Odalia covered Eda's mouth.

"Edalyn, why don't you take Amity to the Owl House and-"

"Can I go with you?" Luz asked.

Eda looked at her.

"Uh, wouldn't you want to go home?"

"Okay, I'm clearly not in the Human Realm, because you have no idea what happened there." Luz said, "The Human Realm has fallen, it belongs to Zombies now... and then there's me. I am the only zombie that can actually think."

Odalia and Eda looked at each other before looking at her.

"So... there's nothing left?" Eda asked.

Luz shook her head.

"No living creatures, only zombies. Everything from humans, to animals, even some plants are zombified." Luz said, "I... I had to kill my own mother after she turned... it still haunts me."

Luz felt tears come to her eyes, remembering how she had to kill her zombified mother. Odalia hugged the walking corpse, knowing that it must be horrible to be the only one that can speak or even think.

"Sure, Kid, you can come." Eda said, "Hell, you probably fit in here more than your world."

Eda got out her staff and got on.

"Alright, you living corpse, get on." Eda said, "You too, Little Miss Perfect. I'll drop you off and then go stop Al from burning the manor down."

"I hate that nickname." Amity said.

"Well, I could call you Closet." Eda said, "Maybe you can finally get some with the corpse."

That hit the nail right on the head, as Amity began melting.

"Edalyn!" Odalia said, getting the bucket out.

Odalia used magic and lifted the puddle up and put her in the bucket.

"What? It was going to happen at least once today." Eda said, "Just hand me her and I'll get her reformed at home."

Odalia handed Eda the bucket and flew off. Even though she looked like melted ice cream, Amity's mind was still intact, she just couldn't speak... she isn't against dating a zombie.

Chapter 7: Werewolf

Summary:

Luz never thought that getting her kill stolen would lead to her meeting the love of her life, but that's just how wolves work she guesses.

Chapter Text

A dark brown wolf ran through the woods, chasing after a deer. She was young, her first hunt on her own since she left her mom. She was closing in on the deer, when another, light brown wolf tackled it. It bit down on the deer's neck and started to eat it. The dark brown wolf growled. that was her prey, and it was her meal. The light brown wolf looked at her and growled. The two started walking in a circle, sizing up each other, before the light brown wolf lunged at the dark brown. The dark brown wolf dodged and retaliated by biting the other wolf on the neck. The two wolves fell down a hill and shifted. Soon, it wasn't two wolves, it was two women in their twenties. The woman with dark hair growled at the one she currently had pinned down.

"That's my deer." She said, exposing her canines.

"Well, the problem with that is, I am the one that did the killing blow." The light haired girl said, "Now piss off!"

The dark haired one raised her hand, claws at the ready, when she was hit by the other one. She was knocked off the other werewolf and was tackled. The light haired one shifted back into her wolf form and tried to bite down on the girl. She put her arm up to block it, resulting in lots of biting, and lots of blood being spilt. She ended up doing the only thing she could think of doing... she punched the wolf. The wolf let go and whimpered. The other girl shifted and bit down on the other's neck. The two growled until they heard a noise. The two sniffed the air and quickly realized what this was... a poacher. They are constantly trying to kill animals and threaten the local werewolf packs. The two growl and run towards the vile human. Even the most bitter of enemies can agree on somethings, this is one of those moments. They ran until they saw the Human. Her had a rifle and was checking illegal traps that were set up. The two got low to the ground and started to slowly sneak around him, looking for an opening to attack. Werewolves are the protectors of these woods, it was their mission for centuries, and they won't give up until it's complete. They ran out of the bushes and jumped on the guy. They bit down on him as he thrashed around, trying to get out of their bites. He reached down and pulled out a knife. He swung and hit the light brown wolf on the side of her neck, which will leave a scar. He managed to kick them off and ran to get his rifle. He aimed it at the light brown wolf and was about to pull the trigger when the dark brown wolf jumped on him. Growling and barking at him, before biting down on his neck, slowly letting him bleed before delivering another bite, this time delivering a killing blow to him. She dropped the body and went back over to the other werewolf, to find her in her human form, using leaves to cover her wound. The dark brown wolf shifted back and helped her. There was an awkward pause between the two, until the dark brown werewolf decided to speak.

"So... my name is Luz." Luz said, "You probably know of my mom, Camila."

"You mean the strongest werewolf to ever live?" She asked, "I'm Amity, by the way."

"Nice to meet you, Amity, and yes, that is my mom."

"They say she is the daughter of a legendary bloodline." Amity said, "I always thought she was just a legend."

"She's not." Luz said, before looking around, "You know... that deer does look big enough to share."

Amity looked at her and smiled.

"Well, I think that's a good idea." Amity said, "I don't know why we didn't think about that before."

"Because wolves are typically very aggressive when it comes to hunting." Luz said.

Years later, the alpha of the wolf pack returned to her den, with a rabbit in her mouth. She went into the den as the other wolves in her back howled at her, a sign of respect given to the alpha. She went in the den and over to the wolf laying down. She put the rabbit down in front of her as she opened her eyes. She raised her head and the two rubbed noses together, before turning and looking at their pups. Only a few weeks old, the three pups were suckling on their mother, trying to get her milk. Luz shifted back and put a hand on Amity's head.

"Amity, I love you." Luz said, "Thank you, for being my mate."

Amity made a few noises, not able to turn back at the moment due to the pups, but Luz knew what it meant.

'I should thank you, for giving me the three greatest things in the world.'

There were growls outside the den and Luz shifted back into her wolf form. She ran out to find a larger wolf. She growled at her pack, telling them to back off. Luz and the larger wolf looked at each other, when the larger wolf moved her head down to nuzzle Luz. Luz shifted back to human and the other wolf did the same. Luz hugged her.

"H-h-hi, Mom." Luz said.

"Hello, my baby." Camila said, "I hear I'm a grandwolf now."

Luz smiled and shifted back. Camila did the same and Luz lead her into the den, where Camila saw Amity and the pups. Luz was happy to have a such a wonderful family, and it's all because of Amity stealing her kill.
