Lord Saladin stood on his post in the iron banner, flames roaring behind the giant crested shield he stood in front of. He’d finally settled after a warlocks fight riled him up, killing 23 guardians in one life, her fight reminded him of the legend of the banner Iron Wolf Ashraven.
“These weapons are forged to perfection, I can't imagine what the forgers are like that make these” he handled one of the weapons with extreme care.
Saladin looked at an eliksni from the allied house who was inspecting the weapons he would award to banner victors “The shotgun that you now possess in your grasp was forged in your house’s forge, forged by your kind's hands”.
Rithmrix slid the forearm in its usual pumping motion, it had enough resistance that it wouldn't break but not too much that you couldn't move it, perfectly balanced.
“The weapons that I reward must be to standard and above, Riiswalker excels my expectations” he explains while handing a guardian a sniper. “That machine gun below you is also an eliksni craft, it is the archon's thunder”.
Rithmrix put the shotgun gently back on the racks “you named these?” He picks up the machine gun with minimal effort.
Saladin responds “they were named by your forgers” he walks off his post and over to the eliksni captain dropping his iron axe to his feet.
Both of them stood facing each other, one neither taller nor shorter than the other, not one made themselves look bigger either.
Rithmrix put the archon's thunder back respectively “our kinds have clashed for centuries, especially with you Iron Lords, times change. These one's for the good”.
Saladin lent on his axe “ I am still getting used to it. I still see you as the creatures that ate children and plundered our towns and camps killing everyone, the creatures that we defended the six fronts from, the creatures who reactivated Siva” he put the axe on his back “my views on the eliksni won't change for a long time” he turns and places himself on his post.
Rithmrix continuous to admire the banner rewards “eliksni tales say that a human from the iron wolf house destroyed one if our tanks in one punch” Saladin froze as he said this “survivors said that the armoured human came hurtling off a cliff dying on impact, they also reported that a cloaked figure laughed as they revived the armoured giant” he looked sideways at Saladin.
Saladin chuckled “Ha, lady Efrideet, too many know the tale”.
Rithmrix shifted “whos Lady Efrideet? And what is the tale?” He stood up.
Saladin sighed “Lady Efrideet is one of the last living Iron Lords. Aside from me, her whereabouts are unknown but few say she's far out at the edge of our solar system living with a group of pacifists. As for the tale. back in the dark ages, we were defending a small village called patch run, we were severely outnumbered and facing the threat of a walker, it got to a point where we both ran out of ammunition, she asked if I had anything left and I stated that I have light but it was out of reach. She suggested to throw me, I laughed blind to her seriousness she then convinced me and before I knew it I was over her head grasped by my collar, I warned her not to miss as our channeling arc light combined next thing i knew i was hurtling down the cliff” Saladin looked up from the eliksni releasing there was a crowd of guardians in front of him, he cleared his throat “when I awoke from my resurrection i found Efrideet and her ghost laughing at me, she mocked me that i told her not to miss. I asked her to join the Iron Lords but she turned it down after I said no to if she could throw me again”.
The crowd of guardians stood there as if they were waiting for more, their helms, masks and covers hiding their emotions but they still looked eager to hear more.
Saladin slammed his axe on the ground silencing the crowd, he points to the closest light bearer “state your place in the banner”.
Rithmrix broke his attention from the Iron Lord to a message inscribed onto the weapon racks, he inspected it closer so he could read it.
“Saladin ,you know who this is, and I know you declined the offer before but still if you ever change your mind and stray away from the banner here's how to find me, but to others that find this i will not turn you away as you are welcome but your intentions must be peaceful”.
Under were some inscribed coordinates, he took note of them quickly as Saladin walked over.
Saladin grabbed the Riiswalker from the racks as Rithmrix turned away “if you are leaving be safe out there”.
He noted that that was probably the first time Saladin would have said that to an eliksni
