Chapter Text
Scarlemagne nodded at Wolf with a grin as he ran away.
Wolf just stood on her spot and watched how Scarlemagne got smaller and smaller after every second.
He was going to the humans' boat to kill Dr. Emilia once and for all.
Wolf felt a small bit of anxiety when she made her way back to where Prahm was being fixed for the night.
Was this really a good choice?
She decided that it was the best thing she could do, it was for Kipo after all.
When Wolf arrived back at Prahm, Kipo was giving orders to everyone who had volunteered to help fix the party.
Wolf walked up to her.
"Kipo...?"
Wolf started but Kipo didn't listen, she was a bit busy after all.
"Doag, glitter-things. Asher and Dahlia, fix the table. Timbercats, help them find some chairs for everybody. Scarlemagne, get your piano, we need some music!"
Kipo realized that Scarlemagne was gone, she looked down to Wolf who had tried to get Kipo's attention for a while now.
"Scarlemagne? Has anybody seen him?"
Kipo looked around for the monkey. Wolf walked up to her, head tilted down to the ground, she didn't want to meet Kipo's eyes.
"Kipo, I'm so sorry... I told him it was a bad idea but he wouldn't listen!"
"What do you mean?"
Kipo raised an eyebrow, Wolf was acting so weird.
Wolf didn't answer the question, she looked away from Kipo.
"Wolf? Where is Scarlemagne? Answer me, now!"
Wolf gulped but eventually looked into Kipo's eyes, her face dead.
"He went after Dr. Emilia, to kill her.."
"WHAT!? And you let him? I thought you trusted me about this?"
Kipo yelled angrily, taking a step forward to Wolf in anger.
"I do trust you, but..."
"But what?"
Kipo was really mad now. Wolf took a step backwards.
"He said that I was going to let him go if I really cares about you and want to protect you. I know I shouldn't have done it, but I did what I could to protect you!"
"Instead of helping me, you decided to destroy everything that I've worked for!"
Kipo roared angrily as her arms turned into paws with big claws.
"I- I'm really sorry, Kipo..."
Wolf said and teared up. She had destroyed everything and now Kipo hated her.
"Being sorry will not help anything."
"I was told that if I wanted to be a good sister for you I needed to help him. Or else Dr. Emilia would destroy the whole Surface. I didn't want anybody to get hurt..."
"Oh, so you wanted to be a good sister for me, huh? You really disapppointed me in that part."
Wolf felt as if her heart broke into thousands of pieces.
She got tears in her eyes but quickly wiped them away with her hand.
"Fine. I'll help Scarlemagne instead since he at least appreciates me."
Wolf ran away with even more tears in her eyes.
She didn't see Kipo's face of pure betrayal.
Kipo watched Wolf until she had eventually disappeared behind the enormous buildings.
Song had watched the argument and walked up to her daughter.
"Kipo, didn't you see that you hurt her?"
Song asked and put a hand on Kipo's shoulder.
"She should of thought about that before she destroyed everything. Now, let's get back to Prahm."
Kipo muttered and walked past Song to continue give out orders.
---
Wolf ran as fast as she could, she had to catch up with Scarlemagne.
She saw the monkey running a bit ahead and she quickly caught up with him, stopping him from continuing his mission.
"Are you going to try and stop me, or will you be coming with me?"
Scarlemagne asked, frowning at Wolf who looked like she had just cried a lot.
"I'm going with you, Kipo yelled at me."
Wolf said in a shaky voice as she let out a deep sigh.
Kipo was the real betrayer here.
"Would the fight get better by this?"
"No, but she already hates me so what's the point?"
"Fine, let's go."
Scarlemagne ran first and Wolf was right behind him.
It didn't take long before the eventually could see the boat.
Scarlemagne was climbing down one of the buildings when Wolf stopped him.
"Wait... Should we really do this?"
"Why not?"
Scarlemagne asked, continuing climbing down the building.
He just wanted this to get over with.
"If we get rid of Dr. Emilia while everyone is at Prahm, they'll think that Kipo tricked them. She might have screamed at me, but I don't want to destroy the only chance she has to get mutants and humans back together."
"Why would that be a problem?"
Scarlemagne asked.
He had already lost everything.
He didn't havy anything to lose anymore.
"Don't you want a family? You and Lio has gotten pretty close lately, is it really worth losing that?"
Scarlemagne sighed.
"I hate to admit it, but you're right. We can't kill Dr. Emilia if that's not what Kipo wants."
Scarlemagne started climbing back up the building until he stood beside Wolf, towering the little girl.
"So... We're going back?"
Wolf asked.
She really wanted to apologize to Kipo for being so stupid.
"Yeah."
Scarlemagne answered and the two started running to get back to Prahm in time.
Halfway there, Scarlemagne stopped.
"Oh, I almost forgot... I need to get something, you can continue and I'll meet you up there."
Scarlemagne said and Wolf nodded with a grin.
Wolf continued to walk towards where Prahm was headed and Scarlemagne ran off in the opposite way.
---
Kipo and the others had fixed Prahm and was now hanging out with each other.
Kipo was being mad.
"I can't understand why Wolf would ever do such a thing!"
"She was just trying to protect you."
Lio said, he sat beside Kipo with an arm around her.
"I don't care."
Kipo muttered.
She covered her face with her hands as Lio carefully rubbed her back.
"You're not going to hate her forever, are you?"
"She was the one who did wrong, not me."
"But Wolf is just a kid, she didn't know any better."
"If she really wanted to be a good sister, she wouldn't of done that to me. She knows how much Prahm means to me."
"You need to forgive each other, it was an accident."
Lio tried but Kipo ignored her.
She was pouting like a child throwing a tantrum.
Then Scarlemagne came running.
"Scarlemagne? What are you doing here?"
Kipo asked as she frowned.
If Scarlemagne had killed Dr. Emilia, she would never forgive him or Wolf.
"We changed our minds and decided to go back here and give Dr. Emilia a chance to change."
Scarlemagne said out of breath.
"Wolf was with you?"
Kipo asked and looked around.
The ten year old wasn't there.
"Then where is she?"
Scarlemagne froze.
If Kipo hadn't seen Wolf, then...
"Huh? She's supposed to be here with you. I needed to get something and she went here alone."
"Wolf isn't here, can she have taken another way?"
Kipo felt the panic rise.
Her little sister could be in danger.
"No, the only way here is the one I took. The other ones got through the mountains or through very dangerous mute-territories. Wolf is not that stupid to go there."
That could only mean one thing...
"Oh no..."
Kipo said with a worried voice.
Then an arrow was shot into a disco ball that had been set up only a few minutes ago by the Timbercats.
They had struggled with it for an hour and now it was broken into small pieces of glass.
Kipo turned around and saw Dr. Emilia and some other humans with crossbows standing on the top of the building that was towering over Prahm.
"Hello, Kipo."
Dr. Emilia grinned evily as she pointed the crossbow at her.
"Emilia? Why are you holding a crossbow?"
Kipo asked.
She really had thought that she could trust her not to do anything stupid.
Dr. Emilia let out an evil chuckle that echoed over Prahm.
"You really thought I was joining your stupid little party? I was just coming over to kill you and your little mute friends."
"I won't let you do that!"
Kipo said angrily.
Her arms turned into big paws.
She didn't want to hurt anybody, but if that was what it took to win the fight one and for all, she would do it.
"Yes you will, and I know how to make you... Look who I caught on the road."
Kipo gasped.
She already had an idea what Dr. Emilia was talking about and that was confirmed when a family of wolves stepped up on the edge of the building.
The mother of the wolves held Wolf by the waist, Kipo's little sister.
The Alpha mom was covering Wolf's mouth to keep her from screaming.
Kipo stiffened at the sight.
"Wolf!?"
Kipo yelled.
Wolf was fighting with all her might to get away from her biggest enemies, but the Alpha mom's grip on her was too tight.
Wolf had tears in her eyes.
The Alpha mom stopped covering Wolf's mouth to get a better grip on the fighting child.
"Kipo! Help!"
Wolf yelled and Kipo's heart broke at the sound of Wolf's shaky and scared voice.
She was terrified.
"Wolf! What happened?"
Kipo shouted.
"These idiots attacked me while I was trying to get here."
Wolf growled, glaring daggers at the wolves who were all grinning at her.
They had all wanted this, Wolf knew that.
Kipo felt as if she was boiling with anger and she clenched her fists and looked up at Dr. Emilia who was grinning like an idiot.
"Let go of Wolf, now!"
Kipo shouted angrily.
"I don't think so sweetie. It's her or whole Las Vistas."
Kipo shuddered at hearing those words.
Dr. Emilia wasn't serious, was she?
"What will you do to my sister?"
Kipo asked.
She wanted to know what she was risking if she chose to protect Las Vistas instead of her sister.
"I won't do anything, but they will..."
Dr. Emilia grinned like crazy and pointed over at the family of wolves.
Kipo knew that whatever the wolves was going to do would be something bad.
And considering that Wolf had been traumatized by wolves at five years old, Kipo got even more anxious.
"You see, Kipo... Those wolves has some unfinished business with little Wolfie."
Dr. Emilia explained and that sent a shiver though Kipo's core, did that mean.?
"Are you the wolves?"
Kipo asked and all of the wolves grinned evily.
The Alpha mom spoke up.
"If you mean the wolves who adopted and raised this little kid..."
She shook Wolf for a bit and ruffled her hair before she looked back at Kipo.
"...Then yes."
"It can't be you, you should be dead."
"Awww, she told you about us? Well that's cute. She never killed us."
The Alpha mom said.
She seemed to be very proud of herself.
"It's impossible, you must be lying. Wolf wore the skin if you for five years, she did kill you that night!"
Kipo said angrily, she didn't understand how they could still be alive.
The Alpha mom smirked at Kipo's words.
She bent down to Wolf's height and looked at the small child who looked like she wanted to commit.
"Awww, you didn't want to leave mommy yet, sweetie?"
The Alpha mom cooed into Wolf's ear, making Wolf shudder as she let a tear skip from her wet eyes.
She pulled Wolf a bit closer to her as she held her even tighter.
"Don't touch me."
Wolf growled between gritted teeth as she once again tried to run away, not succeeding.
The Alpha mom ignored Wolf's words.
"Luckily mommy is still alive and can take care of her baby again."
A new pool of tears showed in Wolf's eyes.
She was scared.
"Awww baby, don't cry."
The Alpha mom cooed and wiped away the tears with her thumb.
"Then stop touching her, don't you see that she feels uncomfortable around you!?"
Kipo roared still watching everything.
She didn't want anybody to hurt her little sister, not ever.
That was when the father of the pack decided to speak up.
"We don't need to listen to you."
He grinned.
"Just let my little sister go!"
Kipo begged, her voice breaking into voice cracks as she couldn't keep herself from crying.
"If you want her back, you'll have to let me cure all of the mutes."
Dr. Emilia said with an evil grin, knowing that she had won.
"I- I can't do that..."
Kipo said with tears in her eyes.
She was sobbing now.
"Then the wolves will take your friend."
Dr. Emilia said and chuckled and looked over at the wolves.
"Wolf!"
Kipo yelled and tried to get closer to her little sister.
Benson grabbed Kipo's waist and stopped her from walking any closer.
Dr. Emilia had a dangerous weapon, Kipo had nothing.
Wolf was crying even harder.
Her clothes was getting wet from her tears.
"Everything will be okay, Wolf. I'll get you home. I'm so sorry that I hurt you before, I didn't mean to!"
Kipo apologize in case she would never get to see Wolf again.
She didn't want to believe that that would be the case, but she couldn't help but thinking like that anyway.
"It's fine, it was my fault."
Wolf sobbed.
Dr. Emilia grinned.
"So... Have you made your desicion?"
Dr. Emilia asked.
Kipo let out a deep sigh and wiped away the tears.
She turned around to her parents.
"We can't just leave Wolf to the wolves, but I don't want to risk the whole Las Vistas..."
Song and Lio looked between each other at Kipo's words.
"But if we let Wolf go, we might never get so see her again..."
Song said.
She had always loved and wanted children and now when she finally got the time to bond with them, she didn't want to lose them.
"I might have an idea..."
Kipo said and turned back around to Dr. Emilia who was still filled with pride at seeing Kipo totally defenseless.
"Let Wolf go!"
Kipo yelled and Dr. Emilia smirked even more.
"Kipo, no!"
Wolf screamed and took a step closer to the edge.
The mother of the wolf-pack pulled her back again, holding Wolf even closer.
She covered Wolf's mouth as she was getting a bit tired of how she always screamed and cried.
The Alpha mom bent down to Wolf's height and whispered in her ear.
"If you stop screaming, mommy will stop covering your mouth. Okay, sweetie?"
The Alpha mom cooed and pressed a kiss to Wolf's cheek that was wet from her crying.
Wolf cringed when she felt the wet kiss, it was so disgusting.
But she could do nothing to protect herself, so she just nodded her head as new tears were being made.
Her breathing was fast, shaky and uneven and her arms shook of fear.
The Alpha mom stopped covering Wolf's mouth and Wolf remained silent.
She didn't want those dirty hands in her face.
"Wolf! Everything will be okay, I'll save you!"
Kipo promised but she wasn't so sure if she would be able to keep that.
"No you won't. This child is coming with us."
The Alpha mom called back and took a step back with Wolf.
"No! I'm not going to let her go with you, you'll hurt her! Wolf is coming down here right now!"
Kipo argued.
She couldn't just let them win and give Wolf to them, she would be a horrible big sister if she ever let that happen.
"If you want her back, you're going to ley me take over control over Las Vistas and cure all of your little mute-friends."
Dr. Emilia smirked, pointing her crossbow at the mutes without actually shooting.
She needed Kipo to decide first.
"Kipo... Please don't..."
Wolf said with a shaky voice.
She didn't want Kipo to risk everyone's lives for her, she was nothing special.
Kipo needed to do what was right, and that was to leave Wolf to her fate and save Las Vistas.
Whatever happened to Wolf didn't matter in her own book.
"I won't let them hurt you, Wolfie. Then it'd be my fault for screaming at you from the first time!"
Kipo's voice was filled with guilt and Wolf was determined to make Kipo let all those feelings go.
For Las Vistas.
"No, It's my own fault. I shouldn't have done things behind your back like that. I was a really bad friend and an even worse sister. I'm sorry..."
Wolf sniffled and wiped away a few tears that eacaped her eyes.
"This is not your fault, I'll save you!"
Kipo promised and Wolf let out a sob and started crying again.
Ugh, she was so emotional.
"I take this as you are choosing to protect Las Vistas instead of your sister, huh?"
Dr. Emilia said and grinned even more though nothing was funny.
Kipo nodded at the woman.
"I- I guess so... But I'll still save Wolfie from those monsters!"
Kipo growled out and gkarred daggers at the family of wolves.
"Good. Then we're leaving."
Dr. Emilia said and chuckled evily before leaving through the same way she came from together with some humans that still wanted to stay with her.
The mother of the wolves grinned at Kipo before she bent down to Wolf's backstory height and grinned at her too.
They had succeed.
She picked up Wolf, wrapping the child's legs around her waist as Wolf's arms hang loosely by the wolf's shoulders.
The family or wolves slowly turned around to leave, Wolf started kicking.
"Kipo!"
Wolf yelled and it was such a panicked scream that it broke Kipo's heart and thousands of small pieces.
"Wolf! I'll get you home soon, I promise!"
Kipo yelled back, promising something that she didn't know if she could keep...
Wolf sobbed with tears in her eyes as she was carried further away from her friends.
Her family.
She looked into Kipo's eyes for one last second before she was gone behind the building.
"Honey... Now we're going to take you back to your real home, where you belong."
The Alpha mom said and that was when Wolf broke down into tears.
She was so scared and uncomfortable and she just wanted to go home.
Her legs stopped kicking and instead hung loose by the Alpha mom's side.
There was no way she was going to escape anyway, so why even try?
She cried into the Alpha mom's shoulders and let all of her overwhelming emotions out.
"Aww, baby. Don't cry! It's okay, mommy's right here!"
The Alpha mom cooed into Wolf's ear and started rocking the child to calm her down.
It just had Wolf crying even worse.
She was kicking again.
"Calm down now, sweetie."
The Alpha mom cooed and continued to rock Wolf.
She rubbed Wolf's back in circles to comfort her.
It gave Wolf a tiny sense of comfort as she eventually stopped crying so violently.
She was just sniffling now and sobbed every now and then.
Her breathing was uneven and shaky and she took deep breaths to calm herself down.
"Good baby."
The Alpha mom praised and kissed Wolf's wet cheek.
It was salty from the tears but she didn't mind.
She needed to calm her baby girl after all.
"Shhhh, shhhh."
The Alpha mom cooed.
As the family of wolves walked into the forest where they lived, the Alpha mom started rocking Wolf again.
Going back too the place where she had lost her trust and been betrayed on could be very traumatizing and the Alpha mom really wanted to skip a tantrum from the child.
Wolf had been hiding her face in the Alpha mom's neck this whole time, but she finally looked up after she sensed how cold it was getting.
The trees didn't let the last glimpse of sun shine through the big tree tops.
It was so dark and cold now.
Wolf recognized this forest by heart, she was back.
It didn't take long before she saw the place where she had been betrayed on.
The small cliff was still there and everything looked the same.
Wolf couldn't believe that she was actually back here.
She hoped that it all just was a crazy dream and that she'd soon wake up in Kipo's arms.
The family of wolves walked through the port that led to their house.
The Alpha mom had been wanting to get it fixed to stop other mutes from stealing their home.
It had worked very well.
The Alpha mom stopped right in front of the house while the other wolves waited right behind her.
The leader of the pack was always supposed to walk in first.
"We're back now my darling."
The Alpha moom cooed and set Wolf back down on the ground.
Wolf looked up at her childhood home, she had been raised here for over a year before she had been betrayed and nearly murdered.
She hated this place.
"Come now, baby. Let's go in!"
The Alpha mom cooed.
She grabbed Wolf's wrist to take her inside the house.
"No..."
Wolf said and wriggled her hand out of the Alpha mom's grip.
She shook her head and took a few steps backwards, away from the house.
"Aww, honey! There's no need to be scared."
The Alpha mom said and moved closer to Wolf to grab her and get her into the house.
Wolf refused.
"I said no!"
Wolf said angrily and backed away from the Alpha mom.
"I don't want to go with you."
"It's okay, honey. Calm down."
The Alpha mom cooed and shushed at Wolf.
She couldn't throw a tantrum out here.
"No! I wanna go home!"
Wolf yelled.
She got tears in her eyes as she let out a small sob.
It was all too much for her.
She wanted to be safe in Kipo's arms, told that everything was okay.
But she wasn't there.
Wolf started to cry again.
She hid her face in her hands as the tears flooded out of her eyes and down to the ground.
She was shaking of fear and from the cold.
The Alpha mom walked up to Wolf and wrapped her arms around the crying child.
"Shhhh, shhhh. It's okay, you're okay."
The Alpha mom shushed as she stroked Wolf's messy hair.
Wolf didn't calm down this time.
"Come now baby."
The Alpha mom cooed.
She picked Wolf up and rocked her softly as Wolf sobbed into her neck.
"Come with mommy."
She whispered and carried the crying child inside the house.
The other pack members walked right behind them.
They took off their jackets and shoes since it was so warm inside the house.
"It's bedtime for you now darling."
The Alpha mom said.
She moved Wolf a little so that she could look at her face.
It was wet from the tears and Wolf was shaking.
She burst out crying once again but the Alpha mom didn't care this time.
She needed to put her baby to bed after all.
"Calm down now, baby."
The Alpha mom sighed a bit annoyed.
It was tiring to listen to a baby cry all night.
Everyone wanted to go to sleep.
The Alpha mom carried the crying child up the stairs to the second floor.
Margot was walking right behind.
She and Wolf was going to share room since Margot was the only one with an extra bed.
Wolf's old bed.
The Alpha mom opened the door to Margot's room.
It was pitch black.
She turned the lights on so that she would be able to see where she was going and then carried Wolf to her own bed.
Wolf was nearly screaming now as she cried.
Margot decided to go into the bathroom to get dressed in her nightgown by the time her mother was calming Wolf down.
As Margot left the room, the Alpha mom tucked Wolf in tightly in the bed.
Wolf was slowly calming down.
She was so exhausted from crying and she wanted to sleep.
As Wolf was sobbing and sniffling, the Alpha mom searched through the cabinet right by Wolf's bed.
A paci was lying there and she put the soother into Wolf's mouth.
Wolf refused to suck on it, but she let it stay in her mouth.
It felt kinda nice to have in her mouth.
Mmaybe it was just time to give up the fight and let the wolves do whatever they wanted with her?
She made a testing suck and found the paci calming.
She wanted more.
Wolf started sucking on the pacifier and the Alpha mom grinned.
It was working.
Margot joined the room again, this time dressed in a white nightgown.
She tucked herself in in her bed and watched Wolf suck on the paci.
It was kinda cute.
Wolf's eyes was dropping and she soon fell asleep.
The Alpha mom pressed a kiss to Wolf's cheek before she moved over to Margot to give her the usual goodnight hug before leaving the room.
Margot watched Wolf as she herself fell asleep.
She finally had a little sister again and she couldn't wait to teach her everything she needed to know.
She would help her grow abd be the most cutest little baby in the world.
Her eyes closed and Margot was asleep.
Wolf was asleep too, dreaming about Kipo saving her from this house.
But she soon would learn to just accept her new life as a baby.
Wether she wanted to or not.
