SCP-8592: "The Interdimensional Music Box"

Summary:

Mankind in its present state has been around for a quarter of a million years, yet only the last 4,000 have been of any significance. So, what did we do for nearly 250,000 years? We huddled in caves and around small fires, fearful of the things that we didn't understand. It was more than explaining why the sun came up, it was the mystery of enormous birds with heads of men, and rocks that came to life. So we called them 'gods' and 'demons,' and begged them to spare us and prayed for salvation.

In time, their numbers dwindled and our numbers rose. The world began to make more sense when there were less things to fear. Yet, the unexplained can never truly go away, as if the universe demands the absurd and impossible.

Mankind must not go back to hiding in fear. No one else will protect us, we must stand up for ourselves.

While the rest of mankind dwell in the light, we must stand in the darkness to combat it, contain it, and shield it from the eyes of the public, so that others may live in a sane, normal world.

We secure. We contain. We protect.

CLASSIFIED DOCUMENT LEVEL 4 CLEARANCE REQUIRED

INCIDENT REPORT: 8592-2

As we all know on [REDACTED], SCP-8592, designated "The Interdimensional Music Box", was lost in a containment breach at Site-[REDACTED]. Several months later, an energy surge believed to be associated with SCP-8592 was detected in the center of Los Angeles. Concurrently, three adolescent girls went missing, leading to suspicions among Foundation researchers that the disappearances were related to the energy surge.

Approximately five months later, a similar interdimensional energy surge was detected in Los Angeles, and one of the missing girls, Anne Boonchuy, reappeared in society. Foundation Field Agents discovered that Boonchuy was accompanied by two giant, talking frogs and a giant, talking pink tadpole with arms and legs, all of whom demonstrated fluency in the English language.

Attempts were made to apprehend Boonchuy and the anomalies, but the Unusual Incidents Unit (U.I.U) attempted to take them into custody first under the orders of "Mr. X," and failed.

Two months later, the Foundation dispatched Mobile Task Force (MTF) units to intervene, but a smaller energy surge appeared suddenly, delaying the operation.

Subsequently, the U.I.U apprehended all individuals who participated in the creation of the portal device, except for me of course.

Not too long after the incident I was pressured into returning to my place in the Foundation as the recent concerning activity on the object had increased drastically.

One month later, a third energy surge was detected, even more, powerful and violent than the previous surges. A massive rift in space-time, composed of primarily blue, red, green, and white energy, appeared over Los Angeles. Flying platforms and a large flying castle emerged from the rift, accompanied by a giant talking newt in armor of sorts who proclaimed the conquest of Earth and proceeded to destroy Hollywood with a bolt of energy.

Currently, the S.C.P Foundation, the Global Occult Coalition (G.O.C), and the U.I.U are engaged in combat against the interdimensional threat. Multiple MTF units have been deployed to Los Angeles to address the situation.

Chapter 2: The Core

Summary:

Darcy's and Andrias' invasion isn't exactly going exactly as planned.

Chapter Text

Things were definitely not going as planned.

Darcy and Andrias had both very much underestimated humanity itself, thus the fact they were stuck in a stalemate in the past 2 hours of the invasion.

The only reason why they were still standing was the forcefield surrounding the massive floating Newtopian-aircraft/castle preventing the Human's weapons from blowing the castle to kingdom come, and the railgun at the very top of the castle that obliterated any Human navy ships.

Darcy was still in the throne room which now had been filled with orange mechanical eyes everywhere only gritting their host's teeth, upon seeing their platoons of amphibious drones gunned down by the Human soldiers and their own war machines which had a blue star-like logo with a drawing of a map of the savages' supposedly "pathetic planet", while other vehicles, mostly black police vans had a drawing of a golden eagle with a triangle with one eye behind it, with the words: Unusual Incidents Unit.

Despite the amounts of Frobos that were destroyed, they still had their mobile floating factories that had produced more and more of the machines.

Sick and tired of the unexpected resistance of the humans, Darcy turned to Andrias, all ten eyes facing the giant blue newt.

"Andrias, I want you to gather some drones and activate the Dyplosaurus immediately! We need to find an edge if we want to crush this pathetic planet.",

They commanded with their somewhat robotic distorted voice that echoed across the throne room as their armored hand was raised pointing directly at the throne room's exit.

Andrias only bowed his head in obedience, right before exiting the room.

Darcy looked back outside the window, seeing the chaos unfold as both, humans and machines clashed against each other in battle.

In the distance, several human gunships could be seen approaching from the dark-blue sea, Darcy frowned and growled in annoyance as the ships opened fire on the castle, only for the shells to be stopped by the force field of the castle, which was now starting to slowly weaken.

They then pushed a button on the control panel, making the railgun at the very top of the Newtopian mothership turn slowly in the direction of the gunship's fire, before shooting a blue ball of pure calamity energy, leaving behind a trail of blue light before meeting its target.

BOOM!!!

A giant fiery blue ball of energy consumed everything in its path, incinerating and obliterating the gunships that fired upon the castle.

Darcy only sighed in relief at the sight and upon seeing the humans below getting pushed back by Andrias in his Mechanized suit picking up tanks and throwing it at the humans with Frobots following the newt king.

With that, Darcy, the Core, exited the room, hoping to finally start vivisecting Anne.

The thought of that only made the hivemind smile sadistically.

Unknowingly to the hivemind, several aerial vehicles/aircraft could be seen from the horizon with a white circle-like symbol with three arrows pointing inward on the side of the machines, approaching the blind spots of the castle at great speeds.

Five of these machines resembled that of a Bell Boeing V-22 Osprey, but instead of using rotors on each side, both were replaced with box-like cylinders with blue flame coming from the bottom, keeping the aircraft in the air. The appearance of the aircraft was also different giving a much more futuristic vibe to it.

While the rest of these machines resembled modern fighter jets, but with the same advanced-futuristic aesthetic that the five Osprey-looking aircraft.

One by one, the bottom of the fighter jets opened, as missiles with the same logo that was seen on the aircraft earlier could be seen, with the letters: S.C.P, printed right below the logo all in bold.

Chapter 3: Heart's escape

Summary:

Anne escapes

Chapter Text

Somewhere... in the deep chambers of the Newtopian castle.

Anne struggled at the steel cuffs and cables that tightly restrained her to a cold silver table.

She was inside some kind of room, a lab to be specific with computers and all kinds of advanced medical equipments.

The walls all had the same orange eyes that the throne room had earlier, that all blinked from time to time as if the walls were living beings.

There was also a big tank right in front of Anne, filled with green-bubbling liquid of sorts, right beside it was a giant metal orb, with nine lifeless eyes, quite similar to the one who tied her there.

Right next to the table, where Anne lay was another table, filled with all kinds of tools used in surgery operations, tools Marcy would certainly know the name off.

The sight of the tools wasn't exactly helping her situation, especially with what Marcy-No-Darcy had said earlier.

We look forward to dissecting you... alive.

Those words echoed throughout her head, which only filled Anne with more fear.

Surgery was one of the very few things Anne feared the most, she was never really a fan of the idea of someone cutting you open and then touching your insides.

Especially the fact that thing inside her sweet innocent Marcy's body was gonna vivisect her alive.

It all felt wrong... very wrong.

Anne continued to strain and struggle against her restraints.

Only causing the metal cables to tighten more and more.

Eventually, the Thai girl gave up, and just decided to wait for help to come or for Darcy to come along and start torturing her with whatever instruments the thing had, well whichever would come first.

And thanks to her always shitty luck, Darcy of course arrived first.

The thing was smiling sadistically, as it entered the room, which was not unexpected.

The sight of her sweet "Mar-Mar", smiling like that, felt like a metaphorical punch to the gut, making her eyes water a little.

The table that Anne was on suddenly moved upward, and stopped with Darcy facing Anne as more restraints held Anne on the now horizontal table.

"Comfy?", the thing asked Anne with a sadistic smile, Marcy's voice was poisoned and tainted by the robotic effects of her voice, as the thing starred right into Anne's soul with all ten eyes. While Anne only glared at the thing.

One of Darcy's tentacles reached for a scalpel, giving it into one of Darcy's own arms.

Anne gulped as Darcy approached her, the instrument right in its hand.

Anne started to sweat in fear as Darcy's tentacles then grabbed two plastic tubes of sorts before attaching them onto Anne's wrists, right where her blood vessels were.

A needle suddenly ejected from the two tubes, before Darcy injected the tubes into Anne's wrist, one for the left, another for the right.

Pain shot from the Thai's wrists, as small ounces of blood leaked from the tubes, causing her to wince and yelp in pain.

Darcy only seemed to smile and enjoy it.

Darcy's tentacle then flipped a switch from one of the machines behind Anne, where the tubes were connected to as a liquid substance of sorts flowed into the girl's body.

"Wha-what did you do?", Anne asked, suddenly feeling that her body had become heavy and hard to move, this made Anne panic.

"Oh nothing too special, we just injected you with a special substance we found from your planet long ago that'll just temporarily paralyze you as long as these tubes stay.", it replied casually.

It then brought the table full of instruments for surgery near, grabbing a cloth from its right hand and cleaning the scalpel, before placing it back on the table.

"Wanna know my favorite thing about this substance Anna-banana?"

The Thai only let out a weak sound, trying to growl at the use of the nickname by some weird Eldritch AI.

"It won't just keep you paralyzed, but also keep you awake, letting you experience all the pain of vivisection.", the thing said, in a sing-song manner.

Now this despite being paralyzed, made Anne's eyes open wide.

The Core however took notice of this and chuckled like a psycho.

It then lowered the scalpel to Anne's chest, making the Thai close her eyes shut and brace for the pain to strike her.

But luckily something else struck first.

BOOM!!!

An explosion echoed throughout the entire castle, causing the entire castle to shake violently, making dust particles fall from the ceiling.

The explosion irritated the hivemind, making it growl out of anger and confusion.

"What the-"

The entirity of the castle flashed red as alarms went off immediately.

Outside the castle, multiple fighter jets with the circular insignia from earlier struck the castle with a barrage of heavy missile fire.

These missiles one by one struck the shield of the castle, weakening the shield more and more.

Eventually, the jets ran out of missiles, at the bottom of the jets' wings, two turrets from both sides appeared from a hatch as they opened fire.

Back inside the chambers of the castle, Darcy was watching all of this unfold from their helmet, leaving them shocked and baffled.

The humans had not only disabled their shield but also severely damaged the entire Newtopian mothership.

The hivemind was even left more baffled upon seeing these human machines, fire not small metal projectiles called "bullets" as Marcy called them, but blue bolts of plasma energy.

The constant fire of plasma made their shields give up, as one missile struck the railgun from the tip of their warship rendering it completely useless.

These human jets not only shot at their ship but at the smaller hover-crafts in the sky, taking them out one by one like flies.

Their forces were quickly weakening.

Another of the human machines, looking quite different than the ones that disabled the shields landed on one of their launch pads, as human soldiers with weird symbols on their shoulders leaked from the back of the aircraft which then left as the humans infiltrated the castle.

To make matters worse, Sasha, the Frogs, the Toad, and Newts had somehow escaped the lab to where they were supposed to be fitted with the mind-control collars.

The Frogs had just recently got out of the castle, while the Newts, Sasha and Grime had clashed against the Cloakbots.

This only pissed the Core off further, the hivemind growled, slamming the scalpel on the table, momentarily shaking the instruments, startling Anne into opening her eyes.

The hivemind then faced Anne, looking at the girl with anger.

"Call yourself lucky... Heart."

With that, the hivemind left the room, ordering two Frobots to guard the door leading to Anne, deciding to deal with the threats herself.

The castle shook once again causing the machine with the weird substance in it to tumble over and break, stopping the flow of the substance into Anne's body.

Another boom was heard in the distance, this time the cuffs and cables that tied Anne to the table retracted and fell.

Anne, who now had regained control over her body removed the tubes from her wrists, causing a small amount of blood to leak from them, staining her clothes.

The girl now free grabbed her sword, not too far from where she was, and engaged one of the Frobots, cleaving its face clean off in one swift motion.

She then used the Frobot's body to block the incoming fire from the second bot, before charging right at it using the other's body as a shield ramming right at the second bot, disorienting it for a moment.

Anne then leaped in the air swinging the sword right at the Frobot unit, slicing it in half, destroying it.

The Thai girl then retrieved her chest plate from the wall, right before leaving the room.

Chapter Text

Gunfire and explosions rang across LA as Foundation, UNGOC, and UIU personnel flooded the streets.

In the middle of LA there stood King Andrias clad in his Dyplosaurus mech, firing missiles and lasers at the humans.

A tank shell hit Andrias right at his heel, slightly pushing the King back and making him grunt in annoyance.

Andrias then picked up a car before throwing it right at the GOC tank that hit him, crushing it.

More humans fired upon Andrias sending hails of bullets and rockets at the tyrant, which was starting to overwhelm the newt just by the sheer amount of people engaging him.

Three of the fighter jets that took down the castle's shields broke apart from the other jets to engage the newt, firing blue projectiles of pure energy at him, aggravating the tyrant more.

"Enough!!!", Andrias roared in his mecha, right as a purple flame exited from the Dyplosaurus' feet as the mecha started to fly, chasing the jets in the sky.

The newt continued his pursuit of the three jets throughout LA, as he slowly locked missiles at the jets.

[Target Locked], the electronic voice in the newt's mech announced, as a hatch opened from both shoulders of the mecha revealing missile silos on each side.

A total of twelve rockets exited those silos chasing the Foundation jets down.

The jets split up trying to lose the missiles chasing them.

One of the jets was hit causing the pilot to crash into a nearby building, which was luckily empty.

While the second jet crashed at one of the Herons killing the beast.

Meanwhile, the third jet deployed its flares, causing the missiles to miss their target hitting nearby buildings instead.

Andrias continued his pursuit of the jet, the newt zoomed past an empty road, finding the jet chasing it, getting closer and closer every second.

Unknown to the amphibian, back down below a SAM turrent had locked unto Andrias, two large missiles were fired from below, heading straight for Andrias.

This time it was the newt's time to dodge.

Two dots appeared on the King's radar, heading directly at him at great speeds.

Because of this Andrias loses the jet he was chasing as he was forced to dodge the missiles.

The missiles followed Andrias who made narrow and sharp turns to lose the missile or to make them miss him instead.

One of the missiles nearly hits Andrias before crashing onto a building nearby blowing up, its shockwave shattering the remaining glass before the building started to collapse on its own weight.

Suddenly from the smoke, the second SAM missile hits Andrias from behind, which only weakened his armor, sending the newt to crash to the ground.

King Andrias growled in anger as he stood right back up in the center of the crater made from his mecha's impact.

He looked at his surroundings only to find himself surrounded by VTOLs, helicopters, tanks, and human soldiers with a weird circular symbol of sorts with three-pointed arrows pointing inwards.

The humans were clad in black uniforms and wielded weapons that looked nothing like what Darcy had shown him.

He had thought that these humans only wielded projectile-based weaponry, which they did use on him in the first minutes of the invasion.

But these weapon's glowed blue at the muzzle.

These weren't projectile-based weaponry, these were plasma weapons.

On instinct, Andrias stomped his foot on the ground.

Hard.

Letting out a shockwave that shook the entire area, knocking several of the humans to the ground.

"Open fire", one of the humans, who wore different clothing, likely a high-ranking soldier or something, that most likely commanded the others, yelled, causing the soldiers to immediately start opening fire on the Dyplosaurus.

Blue blasts of energy rained down onto Andrias, as the tanks, helicopters and the VTOLs unleashed hell on Andrias.

Andrias was thrown on the ground repeatedly by the sheer force of the combined firepower keeping him from retaliating.

Andrias' armor then started to crack, causing him to start panicking.

With a push of a button, the glowing orange outlines of the mecha started to brighten up, as multiple orange beams of pure Calamity-energy exited from the tail, zig-zagging to the opposing forces cutting down tanks and helicopters while some VTOLs were able to dodge the beams.

The humans were able to take cover, surviving the massacre, while a helicopter crashes into a nearby restaurant.

Andrias laughed inside his mecha, systems were slowly starting to fail, and the mecha's movements were now much slower and sluggish than before.

"Is that all you got?", Andrias laughed with pride, not noticing a blue ball of energy heading straight at him from behind.

"You know for a civilization on a planet like this you guys are pretty advanced, but unfortunately not advanced enou-"

Andrias was cut mid-sentence, as he was suddenly thrown back by an intercepting force.

The Newt king was thrown into a building, knocking down the supports, causing the structure to collapse on Andrias.

Andris then used his mecha's propulsors to escape the debris, with a grunt he escaped the building only to see Anne Boonchuy right in front of him.

The Thai girl was surrounded by an aura of a blue flame, her hair was floating in the air as if it was fire as cackles of blue-Calamity electricity surrounded her fist.

Her eyes were blue and filled with the energy of the Heart stone.

"Leave them alone.", the girl commanded, referring to the humans who got back up who all raised their rifles pointing at Anne but then swiftly pointed them back at Andrias, seeing that Anne basically saved their lives, but was still wary of the Star of Heart.

"Your fight is with me Andrias.", the girl announced in her distorted voice that boomed across the city.

Andrias in his mech smirked.

"Well then, if that's what you want. I guess it's time for a rematch!", Andrias said in all his glory, in a battle pose.

Silence took place as both sides readied for who would be the first to make the first move.

As the humans back below readied their rifles and launchers.

Anne made the first move turning into a ball of pure energy, dashing right into Andrias' side, leaving a blue trail of energy behind her as her fist was aimed at the mecha as Andrias did the same.

Their fists collided letting out a shockwave of blue and orange energy, knocking everyone away.

Back at the castle, Sasha and Grime fought against Darcy, who was just laughing and chuckling maniacally as she spun her scythe, clashing against Barrel's Warhammer and Sasha's twin blades.

Sasha snuck behind Darcy, aiming to cut the wire connecting the back of the hivemind.

Unfortunately, the hivemind noticed this and turned to face Sasha, as an orange hexagon shield of pure energy suddenly materialized out of nowhere, blocking the hit.

"Oh no you don't", the thing said as it smiled, sending shivers down Sasha's spine, not because of how creepy it actually was, but because of the fact it was using Marcy's body being puppeteered by whatever robotic horror Andrias hid.

The thing then rammed the shield into Sasha, pushing the girl away, who dug her swords on the ground stopping her movement dead on the spot, just several inches away from colliding into the wall behind her.

Darcy then raised her hand, pointing it at Sasha as several tentacles rose from the ground, lashing directly at Sasha.

Grime using this as a distraction headed towards the engine, he leaped into the air his hammer coming down full force on the engine, but unfortunately, Darcy took note of this, as a tentacle rammed right into the toad's head, slamming the amphibian right to a wall, making the toad fall limp on the floor, unconscious, with a sickening thud as dark-red blood started to pool on the ground, with Sasha only watching in horror.

"Grime!!!"

Sasha turned her eyes back on Darcy, eyes filled with rage and anger, her blood boiling in absolute hate at the thing who only giggled at the sight.

"Oops", the thing said, clearly enjoying the sight of Strength's reaction.

Sasha leaped in the air, and with a battle cry brought her twin blades down at Darcy, who barely dodged the blades as Darcy's left Axolotl-like antenna was shattered by the blade, knocking the hivemind back.

Darcy gritted their teeth, only to be met by Sasha's fist shattering the Core's helmet.

The hivemind screamed, falling to the ground as small fragments of black steel flew everywhere, as Marcy's right eye was now exposed, which was glowing in unnatural orange color, with a frog-like pupil instead of Marcy's normal brown pupil.

"That was for Grime!", Sasha said, pointing her pink-colored blade at Marcy-no-Darcy who only grinned as their right hand hid behind their back, while a tentacle from behind slowly crept up behind the blonde like a snake. The tentacle that had slithered behind Sasha wrapped around the blonde's legs, causing her to loose balance and fall on her back.

Then, the next thing Sasha knew was pain.

Hot searing pain shot up from the blonde's right eye.

As the scent of burning flesh filled her nostrils, her vision on her right eye suddenly turned black, with blood splattering everywhere.

Darcy laughed maniacally as their scythe of orange plasma struck Sasha's face.

All Sasha did was scream in agony as dark-red liquid splattered everywhere, some even reached the face of the hivemind.

They raised their scythe of orange energy back in the air, readying for the final blow.

"Well, Sash it's been fun. Although I'd like to stay, I still have a multiverse to conquer.", they said gleefully at the blonde who laid on the floor losing rapid amounts of blood and was just barely keeping herself conscious.

"Nighty-night!", they then brought their blade down at Sasha's face, aiming to kill the blonde in the quickest way possible.

Bang!!! Bang!!! Bang!!!

As the collection of Amphibia's greatest minds was about to strike Sasha, something else struck first.

Blue bolts of hot plasma struck Darcy, as MTF units poured inside the generator room opening fire on Darcy.

Luckily for the hivemind, their armor did the job, just barely stopping the bolts of energy coming from the humans.

Darcy then conjured another forcefield stopping all incoming fire directed at the hivemind.

Using their tentacles they lashed at the MTF units, injuring just one while the tentacles were shredded as if they were nothing by their weapons.

One of the MTF units stepped forward, and he then pulled an unconscious Sasha on the ground to safety.

Another soldier threw some sort of device at the hivemind, landing right on their feet as the soldier yelled, "EMP!!!".

Darcy's remaining mechanical eyes and the exposed eye widened in realization as the device exploded letting out a wave of electronic-magnetic-pulse disabling not only their shield but also the connection keeping the hivemind inside Marcy's body.

Darcy screamed as the connection was severed, causing bolts of orange electricity to spark from their antennas as her mechanical eyes turned off as the exposed eye stopped glowing orange, causing Marcy Wu to fall to the ground unconscious.

The helmet then ejected from Marcy's head leaving the unconscious girl laying on the ground.

The helmet came to life, as its eyes began to start glowing once more, as it severed the chord connecting behind it before deploying several spider-like arms before it started to scurry off only to be stopped by one of the MTF units.

The human then grabbed the helmet from above, as it only squirmed helplessly, refusing to accept its defeat.

It called for Andrias' help only to find most of its systems disabled and extremely damaged, finding itself unable to contact the newt.

It was later put in a small airtight bulletproof-glass box, it rammed at the glass repeatedly but didn't budge at all.

The Core was then escorted outside with the last things it saw was Marcy, Sasha, and Grime being put on stretchers presumably to be treated later on, and the white circular insignia with three pointed-arrow pointing inwards on the soldier that was carrying the hivemind, with the words: SCP printed in bold.

This was the day the SCP Foundation became the Core's bane.

Chapter Text

While the Core, the once glorious collection of the greatest minds of Amphibia was now nothing but a broken helmet, helpless with no way to retaliate nor communicate to Andrias at all, was being boarded into a VTOL escort along with an unconscious Sasha, Marcy, and Grime.

Back down below Andrias was there on his knees as Anne was hovering above the Newt still surrounded by her blue fiery aura looking down at Andrias not with hate nor anger but with pity as she watched the person so dedicated to killing her earlier now breaking down into tears.

Anne then slowly hovered back down letting the aura around her dissipate, her eyes returning to her normal chocolate-brown color, pushing back the exhaustion that came from the use of her powers, her ribs slightly aching.

While Andrias only continued to sob, clutching Leif's letter through his mechanized armor.

Anne's eyes softened eyeing Leif's letter, before moving her eyes back to Andrias.

The girl opened her mouth, but before words could exit her mouth tanks and military vehicles proceeded to surround Anne, Sprig, and Andrias, as men with a strange white circular insignia poured out of the vans, the majority of them pointed their weapons and launchers at Andrias, still in his mecha suit, while a minority pointed them at Anne and Sprig.

"Woah Woah Woah, chill out we're on the same side.", Anne said, her left arm motioning the soldiers to stop while her other was quick to shield Sprig's body from the men.

A black van with the label: UIU, on each side of the vehicle then arrived as an all too familiar black bald man with Heelys exited the vehicle with two people in black suits with laser rifles following the man.

"Mr. X!?", Anne and Sprig exclaimed, looking quite surprised.

So this is what it was about.

Ignoring her exhaustion and the slight aching of her ribs, the girl tapped into her powers once again as blue calamity-energy started to surround the girl causing her to hover in the air, her eyes igniting in a fiery blue.

"If you want him you gotta go through me!", Anne said, venom laced in her distorted voice, causing the rest of the soldiers from below to aim their launchers and rifles at Anne.

The soldiers only stood there ready for an oncoming attack from the girl, as Anne only frowned she held out her hand, Tritonio's blade from far away glowed blue before returning back to its new owner.

The silver color of the blade started to glow in hot blue light, with Anne powering up for battle, cackles of electricity exited the girl and her blade, with the men having their fingers hovering on the triggers of their weapons readying for another battle...

"Anne!!!"

"Stop!!!"

Before things could get too far, two all too familiar voices could be heard coming from two soldiers in black power suits of sorts that were behind Mr. X rushed in going dangerously near Anne as several of the soldiers that surrounded the champion of the stones yelled for the two to get back.

Anne readied for a fight, and so did the soldiers surrounding her and Sprig.

The two mysterious figures then reached for their helmets right before pulling them off, revealing...

Mr. and Mrs. Boonchuy?

"Mom? Dad?"

"Mr. and Ms. B?"

Anne's calamity form dissipated, landing back to the ground, feeling the exhaustion catching up to her again, but was pushed back nonetheless, her ribs now numb at the moment.

Her parents engulfed her with a light hug, with Sprig following suit as they began talking with each other.

Meanwhile, Mr. X went to talk and negotiate with what looked like the commander of the strange men with the white circular insignia.

Which only ended with the two arguing for a while.

"Look X I get it, but the girl has to come with us, and from what I remember the last time the UIU had custody of over SCP-8592 it nearly got stolen by some random street crooks.", the Commander said, lightly jabbing a finger at the UIU agent, getting frustrated.

"That was before the UIU got proper funding from the government!!!", Mr. X reasoned.

"Ok fair enough, but the Foundation knows you're just gonna let the girl go free after like a year!", the Commander admitted.

"And don't you think locking up a thirteen-year-old human girl in one of your facilities for the rest of her life for just having anomalous powers is a little too harsh?"

The commander sighs, "I admit it's a little harsh, but the last thing we want is the anomaly accidentally getting someone hurt or accidentally exposing our existence to the world and costing us our entire yearly supply of amnestics."

"Ugh, fine. I'll deliver the news to her parents.", X said, feeling defeated, and scooted over to Anne's parents who were chatting with her parents.

"Mom? Dad? Wha-what's going on? What are you guys wearing?"

"And why are you with Mr. X?", Sprig added, on top of Anne's curly hair.

"It's a long story.", Mrs. Boonchuy said, breaking from the hug.

"Long story short we convinced the military we're not crazy and even got them to prepare for the entire invasion.", Mr. Boonchuy says, breaking from the hug.

"So I'm guessing that's how you got all that equipment?", Sprig asked, still on top of Anne's curly hair.

"Yep", Mr. Boonchuy says, showing off his rifle, which glowed temporarily, making Sprig stare at it with awe.

Thud

A loud thud could suddenly be heard as the center of LA shook, startling everyone on the ground, halting X's advance to the Boonchuys and causing some MTF units to trip and Sprig to fall.

Anne helped Sprig up and then turned only to see the flying castle's techno-like glowing patterns had stopped glowing as it slowly, but surely made its descent to the ground.

The Frobot units that soared about the sky ten immediately fell to the ground like flies while the ones that were on the ground all shut down falling on the ground, lifelessly.

Multiple VTOLs could be seen exiting the slowly descending castle, flying towards the horizon, and exiting the city.

Anne gasped, "The castle's stop flying, Sasha must've won!".

A smile was planted on Anne's face, celebrating the victory.

While Andrias only watched at the castle, still feeling conflicted.

A good chunk of the newt was glad his invasion had been put to a stop and became extremely worried about Marcy's wellbeing since she was possessed by his ancestors and his father, which would only mean she was either terminated by the hands of these humans or hopefully somehow freed from the Core's control over her.

Andrias only hoping for the second had happened.

"SCP-8592 has been secured, also found another anomaly, two kids and a giant humanoid amphibian.", a radio not far from Anne said.

The noise disturbed Anne's victory, wiping her smile clean off as she turned to find the source of the voice only to see the voice coming out from the MTF Commander's radio.

Two kids and a humanoid amphibian?

"Sending the new anomaly to Site-15 for containment, meanwhile the kids are gonna be sent to Site-16 for questioning, same with the amphibian. Oh, and Gamma-5 has been deployed for clean-up."

"Roger that, gonna request an extra VTOL for the mecha and the giant newt"

Of course Sasha, Marcy, and Grime!!!

Anne felt like an idiot that it took her a good 10 seconds to realize who the "two kids and amphibian" were.

The Thai decided to approach the commander for confirmation, holding her side which had started to ache, pushing back her exhaustion which started to be harder to ignore.

Only to be stopped by the Commander who had approached the Thai first.

"Anne Boonchuy, I need you to come with us.", the Commander spoke, voice firm and serious.

Anne's mind upon instinct was telling Anne to back away as if it wanted her to run.

Anne had a bad feeling that the Commander's intentions were probably not that pure.

If any sci-fi movie had taught Anne anything it was that all of those sci-fi alien movies Marcy had made her and Sasha watched mostly had the government dissect and pretty much experimented on the 'not-so-normal things'.

And after her near vivisection earlier by Darcy, she was not in a mood to be vivisected not dissected.

"What, why?" Anne asked, stepping away from the commander a little, being warry of his intentions hopefully not involving being directed alive or turned into a weapon due to everyone basically seeing her powers.

"The Foundation would like to have a word with you, especially with what just happened today.", the Commander said, pointing at Andrias at the back who had just recently exited his mecha, willingly surrendering to the humans?

Oh frog, today has been a crazy day.

"Foundation?", before Anne could do anything else pain suddenly started to surge slowly from Anne's ribs and head.

Her exhaustion had caught up with her as the use of her powers suddenly took a heavy toll on the girl as she was forced to the ground on one knee.

Her once numb ribs had started to stop being well... numb as her broken ribs from getting thrown at building to building suddenly started to throb in pain.

The pain only intensified when every second passed.

Anne's entire life flashed before her eyes, with the final image that flashed in her head filled with the colors of green, red, and blue, her head only aching more as she stared at the image causing her to pass out from both the pain and exhaustion, only hearing the muffled noises of her parents, Sprig, and the Commander.

A ceiling fan.

That is the first thing Anne Boonchuy sees.

Anne doesn't know how long she's been unconscious, but all she knows is that she isn't in LA anymore.

In fact, she wasn't in anywhere familiar at all.

Anne got up only to find herself in a somewhat small unfamiliar room.

The girl turned only to face a giant tv monitor, which was on the wall.

The screen was one showing videos of sorts which shifted footage about every 5 seconds as Anne only watched.

The screen first showcased a gigantic three-headed golden dragon fighting what seemed like a giant lizard that spewed... was that a laser coming out of its mouth?

This only left Anne watching in awe at the two beasts fighting at each other, with a rising feeling that this might be just a dream.

The footage then shifted to a Hispanic teenage girl holding a piece of paper with a strange symbol drawn on it before touching the top of the drawing, somehow causing the paper to collapse on itself as it turned into a ball of light.

Anne was left confused at how that ever worked.

The footage shifted again and again, from a truck with a red and blue color scheme somehow transforming into a giant robot to some bald kid with an arrow on his head somehow controlling rocks and water, from a kid holding some amulet that turned into armor fighting a stony creature to a purple alien with a golden glove on his hands which held 6 colorful stones that awfully reminded her of the Calamity stones, to a robot with the same stones blasting an entire planet with a beam of purple energy.

The footage kept changing and changing as the speed of it changing started to grow much faster, as short videos suddenly turned to glimpses of photos instead.

A photo of a yellow triangle with one eye somehow wearing a tophat and black ribbon flashed across the screen, swiftly turning to some child wearing a cloak that has celestial decorations on it; one side black with moons and stars, and the other grey with black suns, the photo changed again to a reddish-pink orb emitting blue and green light and somehow looking at it made Anne feel sick.

Imagines just continued flashing across the screen, with the final picture being a being made of scarlet-red color, massive and gnarled fists were holding ink-black chains, while the entity's chest had blood-red eyes all over them reminding Anne of Darcy's many eyes.

The being's head had horns protruding from them, the head also lacked eyes, while a black crown hovered above its head with a red dot in the middle.

The entity smiled with its crooked sharp teeth, a red glow exiting its mouth, sending shivers down Anne's spine.

Voices could suddenly be heard from within Anne's head.

More and more voices started to flood Anne's head causing her to collapse on the floor covering her ears as the voices got too loud, begging for the voices to cease.

The voices were sputtering what was presumed to be nonsense.

"Atanti-ql-Paneu", one of the voices says out loud.

"Yaldabaoth", another one says.

More and more nonsense was muttered inside of the girl's head, mentions of "The Scarlet King", random numbers such as 053, 343, 001, and 682 could be heard, along with other words such as "Khahrahk", "Mekhane", tree of knowledge, Foundation, Swanns, a library and much more.

Anne's head was filled with pain, causing the girl to scream in agony.

And in an instant blinding light exited the screen engulfing everything in its path.

Including Anne and the room, and just like that, Anne Boonchuy was no longer in the room.

Notes:

HOLY SHIT!!! Just saw the Hardest Thing and my decision to let the Core get captured by the Foundation prevented the whole bittersweet ending.

God, it's depressing as fuck.

Chapter 6: Secure, Contain, Protect

I would like to tell everyone that I've edited some parts of the Foundation here, specifically their sites.

Two weeks had now passed since SCP-10,024 (The Helmet with many eyes) had attempted to invade Earth with its droid army which had been easily dismantled by mainly SCPF and UNGOC forces.

MTF Gamma-5 was already dispatched and every citizen and non-UNGOC/SCPF/UIU personnel had been given and treated with amnestics, keeping the anomalous a secret once more.

Unfortunately, quite recently inter-dimensional activity had been spotted in Connecticut quite recently, forcing the field agents in the area to be on high alert, only to find some kids with unusual skin color and pointed ears.

Fortunately for these possibly new anomalies, Foundation personnel had been told to stand down at the moment and was just told to monitor Luz Noceda and her friends instead.

In the middle of a somewhat small room, filled with files and a computer containing information related to that of the Foundation.

A somewhat cybernetic humanoid sat with a faceless black visor on its face, quietly reading the updated version of the SCP-8592 file and a new file.

The updated version of the file contained the same words and information as the old with the only new information being SCP-8592-a-1, SCP-8592-b-1, SCP-8592-c-1, and SCP-10,024.

The files were nothing, but just the three missing children getting SCP designations, technically it was only supposed to be Boonchuy to receive a designation after the display she put fighting the Dyplosaurus, who was extremely lucky her parents decided to take Mr. X's offer to become UIU agents because if they didn't they'd be memory wiped into thinking their daughter was dead.

After a few medical tests, SCP-8592-c-1 appears to have green blood, which appears to have a healing factor of sorts that can heal wounds in a matter of minutes, while SCP-8592-b-1 should have died after losing her eye to SCP-10,024 due to the amount of blood lost, but somehow the 13-year-old survived.

Further scans and tests reveal permanent marks and small residues of energy from SCP-8592-a, SCP-8592-b, and SCP-8592-c inside of SCP-8592-a-1, SCP-8592-b-1, and SCP-8592-c-1.

This intrigued the humanoid, especially after reading the human name of SCP-8592-c-1, Marcy Wu.

With a raise of the humanoid's black-armored hand, the computer in front of the entity flared up to life, sending a message to a special someone.

A: WAIT? ARE YOU CERTAIN IT'S HER?

O5-1: YES, I SAW HER NAME IN SCP-8592's UPDATED  FILE, YOU CAN SEE IT FOR YOURSELF.

O5-1: SCP-8592

A: SEND MTF-ALPHA-1TO SITE-16, IMMEDIATELY. MAKE SURE NO HARM COMES TO THE GIRL... AND SEND TAU-5 TO MONITOR OVER SCP-8592-a-1 TOO.

O5-1: OF COURSE, MY OLD FRIEND...

[END OF COMMUNICATION...]

With that order, O5-1 did what his old friend desired.

After that, the cybernetic Overseer presumed to monitor its fellow O5s and the Foundation.

Anne's eyes opened wide as she gasped for air.

The Thai girl wheezed, letting out several dry coughs, her chest aching quite furiously.

Anne held her head, feeling quite dizzy and looking like she was about to vomit.

The girl groaned in annoyance, realizing she couldn't feel her right arm.

On instinct, Anne looked down to check if her right arm was still there, which thankfully was still there, but numb and unfortunately paralyzed, which concerned Anne.

She also realized that she was wearing a white gown with a black circular insignia with three-pointed arrows that were pointing inward, just like the symbols that were printed on the tanks, military vehicles, and soldiers earlier.

Immediately, Anne panicked for a while, thinking she was being experimented upon by the government and was dissected or something like that.

But when the girl decided to look at her surroundings, Anne found herself in a spacious room with other medical beds parked just a few feet away from her, with the same black insignia on the wall.

This time the words: SCP Foundation, were printed in bold right next to the insignia.

Anne also found the words: Medical Wing, on the far left side of the insignia, which gave the Thai some hope that she wasn't gonna be dissected for her powers.

Now, her only remaining worries were the Plantars, Grime, Yunaan, Olivia, Sasha, and Marcy.

Luckily she found Sasha and Marcy just on medical beds, just on Anne's right.

Anne was supposed to feel happy upon seeing her best friends, but after seeing Sasha, another metaphorical fist punched Anne in the gut again.

The girl had blood-stained bandages wrapped around her head, covering what is presumed to be her eye, as a breathing mask was on Sasha's face.

Medical machines surrounded the blonde, which was the only reason Sasha was alive.

A plastic packet filled with dark-red blood was hung in the air, with a tube that went all the way to Sasha's wrist, presumably giving her blood.

Anne gasped quietly at the sight of her best friend as tears start dripping from her eyes.

Anne quietly sobbed, seeing her friend in this state.

Right next to Sasha, there laid Marcy Wu, who was also unconscious.

Unlike Anne and Sasha, Marcy was still in the same armor she had while Darcy was in control, just now lacking the black Axolotl horned helmet, which hopefully meant that thing wasn't in control of her childhood best friend anymore.

Anne decided to sit back down and relax, taking breaths, trying to calm herself down, but only found herself unable to do so.

The girl just laid down deciding to just wait for the void of sleep to claim her.

While waiting, Anne just looked at her surrounding just trying to sleep causing her to keep turning.

The girl ended up facing at the glass door to her left, only to find 4 soldiers outside, looking at the girl like an eagle, making Anne feel quite uncomfortable.

The 4 all had the same circular symbol printed on their shoulders, but also found another strange-looking symbol with the words: TAU-5, printed under the symbol.

These "TAU-5" soldiers were clad in black-cybernetic-like armor unlike the previous soldiers Anne met back in LA, who just held futuristic rifles.

These soldiers had rifles somehow attached to their arms.

The squad just looked at Anne through their visors, feeling their stares piercing her very soul.

Anne just presumed whatever this "SCP Foundation" was, it probably sent the squad to watch over Anne.

And something tells Anne that these guys weren't playing around.

[LOCATION: SITE-15 ]

[TIME: 024/05/2020]

About two weeks had passed ever since the Core had been placed in this pitiful human facility.

The hivemind, at least what was left of the hivemind after getting blasted with the E.M.P, which destroyed a good chunk of the newts inside the helmet was just plotting, trying to identify any weaknesses of the containment room it had been placed in, only finding 0.

Either there truly wasn't a weakness or it was just the fact the Core is in a weakened state, with most of its systems have crashed already.

The Core had cursed this so-called "SCP Foundation" with every ounce of energy left within the helmet.

The Core was left paralyzed in the middle of the room, wires attached below it, as several human scientists were on their computers, extracting every bit of information and data the hivemind had, the Core had attempted to hack into the human systems earlier, which only caused it to nearly be deleted from existence.

The Core just sat there, helpless at the humans extracting as much data possible without damaging the hivemind, it only looked around the room, seeing all kinds of advanced tech the humans used in extracting data from the helmet.

It was beyond clear that it had clearly underestimated humanity.

The hivemind only continued to sit there in silence as a pang of pain shot from everywhere as the researchers extracted a good chunk of its memories as it stared in pure hatred at Andrias right in front of him.

The pathetic excuse of a king was helping the humans in extracting data from the Core and sharing information about its own history as the Core mentally scoffed at the King's feeble attempts to atone for what he had done.

[UNIVERSE-019, MULTIVERSAL SECTOR: CALAMITY-PRIME]

[LOCATION: SITE-16 ]

[TIME: 04/06/2020]

Anne Boonchuy sat in the middle of a room, sitting right next to a somewhat recovered Sasha Waybright, who still had a white bandage wrapped on the blonde's eye wound.

Approximately 11 days had passed ever since Anne woke up in wherever this "SCP Foundation" took them.

All she knew was that she was in Site-16, thanks to the words being printed on the walls earlier before she and a recovered Sasha Waybright were put in a room with a black-tinted window, with a table at the center of the room with 3 total chairs, the two currently being occupied by the Thai and the blonde.

Anne and Sasha had both been placed in what they assumed to be an interrogation room, which made the most sense, especially with the guard telling them to wait for someone to enter, presumably the guy who was supposed to be interrogating them, whoever that guy was.

The pair waited for someone to enter the room, only for no one to enter.

Seconds turned to minutes, and minutes turned to hours.

Anne was tapping her foot on the ground as her fingernails tapped on the table, worrying for Marcy, hoping she was fine.

Meanwhile, Sasha on the other hand had recently started having the urge to throw the chair into the window and escape the room, grab Marcy and get the fuck out of wherever they were, but she resisted the temptation.

Sasha groaned in annoyance and clear boredom, facing the ceiling fan above.

"Ugh, we've been here for like 5 hours! Can't you guys get this interview over with and let us go!?", Sasha complained, stretching her arms in the air.

"I'm sorry for the inconvenience Ms. Waybright, but the researcher that was supposed to interview appears to be unavailable. We are currently searching for an available researcher. I assure you that this will only take some time.", the person on the other side of the black-tinted glass said through the speaker.

"Then make it quick!!!", Sasha snapped, losing her patience.

More hours passed as Anne and Sasha both fell asleep while waiting for this new researcher to come in.

BOOM!!!

The entire room moved as an explosion went off, the shockwave rocking the entirety of Site-16.

The sudden boom startled the two girls inside the interrogation making them awake.

The left leg on the chair where Sasha sat snapped causing it to fall back with Sasha on it, causing the girl to fall on her back, letting out a soft "oof".

Anne was able to stand up right away, leaning on the wall for support.

"Wha-what's happening?", the Thai and the blonde asked simultaneously both looking at the tinted glass, as the ground continued to shake violently, dust rained down from the ceiling as lights flickered, while the ceiling fan turned off.

No one answered from the speaker, but muffled panicking could be heard behind the tinted glass.

Sasha pressed her ear to the glass, trying to hear what was from the other side.

"What's happening?", a male says from behind the glass as alarms painted the facility in red light.

The ground shook once more causing Sasha to nearly lose balance, forcing the girl to stop listening to the panicked researchers on the other side.

The girl lost her balance and fell down directly onto a dangerously sharp edge of the table.

"Sasha!!!", Anne's voice called out with worry, the girl dived right into Sasha saving her by pushing her away from the sharp edge as the two fell down on the marble floor, with another "oof".

Sasha opened her only functional eye, her vision was blurry only making out what looked like a face, still hearing the blaring alarms from the distance.

Once Sasha's vision recovered she saw Anne right on top of her, the Thai's two arms wrapped behind Sasha protectively as Sasha's own hands wrapped Anne's waist by accident, causing a slight shade of pink to cover her cheeks.

Anne opened her eyes, her vision also blurry only making out a face, that had a shade of red on the cheeks.

Eventually, the Thai recovered and found herself right on top of Sasha's face, feeling Sasha's arms wrap around her waist causing her cheeks to turn a light shade of pink, and the fact that her lips were only inches away from Sasha's own lips didn't help the situation, causing Sasha's face to turn red like a tomato.

Despite being in the middle of a catastrophe, the two were frozen as they only stared at each other awkwardly, as Sasha only smiled sheepishly, while Anne awkwardly laughed weakly.

BOOM!!!

Another explosion went off, interrupting the two.

The Thai stood up, helping Sasha up right after, who was still frozen in a light shade of pink.

"WARNING!!! WARNING!!! MULTIPLE EUCLID CLASS SCPs HAVE BREACHED CONTAINMENT!!! I REPEAT, MULTIPLE EUCLID CLASS SCPs HAVE BREACHED CONTAINMENT!!! ALL RESEARCH PERSONNEL ARE TO EVACUATE TO THE NEAREST BREACH SHELTER AS SOON AS POSSIBLE!!!", the speaker announced in monotone.

"Containment breach?", Sasha questioned, who had just recovered from being frozen in place in the past second.

Right after Sasha said that the people behind the glass could be heard once more this time they could be heard much more clearer, with the cracked glass and holed that had appeared from the walls.

"Shit, guard the anomalies!", one of the men yelled in a state of pure panic.

Anomalies? Sasha looked at Anne who just shrugged, having no idea what they were talking about.

"Fuck, SCP-173 on my position!!!", another one of the men yelled out.

SCP-173, what the fuck was that? Both Anne and Sasha were only left more confused by what the men were saying.

Suddenly, a noise resembling that of scrapping concrete could suddenly be heard outside.

Then, the lights flickered, turning off for a good second.

Crunch

A sickening crunch could be heard outside, as a sickening wet thud followed.

The people outside could be heard panicking as gunfire followed, the light of whatever weaponry these people had were enough to illuminate the room behind the tinted glass.

A silhouette of a peanut-shaped entity could be seen on the left, while the silhouette of two people opened fire on the right on the entity.

What the fuck? Anne and Sasha swore internally at the peanut-shaped entity, a knot tied itself inside the pair's stomachs. Fear from just watching the silhouette somehow filled Anne, her inner consciousness was screaming at her to get away from whatever that entity was.

On instinct, Anne slightly cowered behind Sasha, trying to hide from the entity.

The lights flickered once more plunging the room into eternal darkness.

Crunch

Crunch

Two more sickening crunches were heard, followed by the sound of concrete scraping on the ground right after.

The haunting sound of scrapping concrete eventually disappeared, with the lights turning back on not long after.

The feeling of uneasiness drilled into Anne and Sasha's stomachs, no longer hearing the panicked voices and screams of the people outside the tinted glass.

Sasha grabbed the broken chair that fell on earlier and threw it at the already damaged glass, shattering it, the sudden action startled Anne, making the Thai jump back a little.

Sasha gasped right after climbing over to the other side, only to be left frozen, face filled with a mix of horror, shock, and disgust.

"Sasha?", Anne frowned calling out her best friend's name in worry.

The Thai followed Sasha, "What's wro-", Anne was cut by the sight of three dead bodies of what were presumed to be the people who panicked a while ago.

Anne gasped, covering her mouth with her hands.

The Thai girl suddenly wanted to puke at the sight of the three men's heads snapped all the way to their back, as their lifeless eyes stared right at Sasha and Anne.

"Wha-what, happened here?"

[TIME: 04/6/2020]

Back in the somewhat small room, with stacks of organized Foundation files.

The faceless visor of the cybernetic O5 faced the monitor of its computer, watching footage all around Earth.

Not too long ago, the entire planet had started to shake, tsunamis, earthquakes, hurricanes, and volcanoes suddenly becoming active and spewing purple lava? all started to happen simultaneously in the past 30 minutes.

O5-1 resumed watching over the entire Foundation and the world, while also trying to find the cause and source of the entire incident only finding footage of 5 massive non-biological extra-terrestrials (N.B.E for short).

The five were inside the Earth's core, fighting off purple robotic drones smaller than them, but held the advantage in numbers.

The O5 frowned behind the faceless visor, before sending a message to a special agent in Nevada.

Right after that, the robotic O5 under the Administrator sent MTF Nu-7 to Site-16 to contain its situation and ensure the safety of... three special girls.

Chapter 8: Anomalous encounters

The girls have their first experiences with some SCPs.

[UNIVERSE-019, MULTIVERSAL SECTOR: CALAMITY-PRIME]

[LOCATION: SITE-16 ]

[TIME: 04/06/2020]

Alarms flared across the facility, with blood stains and dead bodies of researchers and D-class personnel littered the entire facility.

Faint gunfire and explosions could be heard in the background, along with the sounds of lightning booming outside the facility.

"WARNING!!! WARNING!!! MULTIPLE EUCLID CLASS SCPs HAVE BREACHED CONTAINMENT!!! I REPEAT, MULTIPLE EUCLID CLASS SCPs HAVE BREACHED CONTAINMENT!!! ALL RESEARCH PERSONNEL ARE TO EVACUATE TO THE NEAREST BREACH SHELTER AS SOON AS POSSIBLE!!!"

Back in interrogation room #12, Anne Boonchuy stared down in horror at the 3 dead personnel, their heads all twisted all the way back, making the girl alongside Sasha want to vomit.

Both Anne and Sasha may have encountered dozens of dead corpses back on Amphibia, but at least those corpses were remains of long-dead people, the two really never really encountered a freshly dead body, of course, especially a human one, which made their reaction understandable and not unexpected.

Another earthquake shook the entire facility, with more cracks appearing across the wall of the room.

Sasha Waybright grabbed what looked like a P-90 from one of the guard's hands along with a Glock pistol.

"Heads up", Sasha warned, lightly throwing the pistol to Anne.

Anne who had just come to her senses after being frozen in horror barely caught the pistol, the weapon inches from hitting her nose.

"What the-", Anne glanced at the pistol, before looking at Sasha with mixed feelings, not knowing how to feel after witnessing 3 people die, and the fact Sasha's now looting their corpses.

"Sasha, what do you think you're doing!", Anne scolded at her bff's actions.

"Arming ourselves.", the blonde answered, loading a magazine into the P-90.

"What, why?", Anne stuttered dropping the pistol on the ground, obviously not wanting to use it on anyone.

Sasha stopped what she was doing, and turned around, giving the Thai a "really?" look, "You saw what just happened."

Sasha stood up, respectfully closing the dead guard's eyes, picking up the fallen Glock 20 and giving it to Anne along with a magazine, "Some weird peanut-shaped thing, did this to them."

She motioned to the motionless bodies of the victims.

"We have no idea where we are, and what this place has in store for us."

Anne raised her left hand to argue, but put it back down, finding Sasha's statement to be logical.

Speaking of Sasha the girl went to the door, somehow handling the P-90 professionally unlike Anne who had no idea how to properly hold her Glock 20.

The blonde cocked the smg, pulling a small yellow card out of her pocket, presumably belonging to that of the dead researcher, and inserting it into a button next to the heavy metal door.

With a quick swipe, the red glow above the door beeped, turning green as the door smoothly opened.

Sasha checked the outside, her smg poking out defensively only to find no threats at all.

"Come on, let's find Marcy and get the hell out of here.", Sasha said, motioning Anne to follow her, to which the brunette complied holding the pistol in her hands... unprofessionally.

[MEDICAL SECTOR]

Marcy Wu woke up from what felt like an eternity in darkness, only to be greeted with more darkness.

The ravenette found herself strapped on a medical bed, still in her night-black armor, that played a role in her torment.

Marcy groaned in pain, her vision distorted as her mind spun around, making her feel nauseous.

The Taiwanese blinked several times before her left eye suddenly... glowed?

Marcy's left eye flickered, before staying a bright orange, with an Amphibian-like pupil stuck in her eye.

Marcy grunted, struggling on her straps, attempting to break free, which she somehow... succeeded in doing?

The girl tore not only her straps but also ripped off the side rails, to which the straps were tied.

Marcy stared at her hands dumbfounded at what she had just done, "Did I just do that?", she asked particularly to no one, but herself.

The girl wasn't exactly known for her strengths and physical build, there was a reason why she was an A student in every subject excluding PE, which was the only subject Anne and Sasha both bested Marcy in.

Marcy ripped off her remaining restraints, tearing them off like they were nothing, but paper.

Marcy wondered in fascination and joy at the display of her strength.

She continued thinking of ways on how strong came to be, which led her to one suspect.

The Core.

Ever since she had rejected what looked like Andrias' father's offer to be assimilated to the Core, she started remembering everything again, which sounded good, until she also started to see what utter bullshit the Core had done, especially the one where she saw machines experimenting on Marcy's body when she... well died. Which was not a pleasant memory

She saw the thing replacing some parts of her body, fusing her with mechanical parts, which was most likely the source of her inhuman strength.

*purr*

Marcy was immediately brought back to reality by the sound of... purring?

More purrs could be heard, as the sound of what was presumably slime scrapping the floor could be heard.

"Whose there?", Marcy asked, trying to trace the sound.

*purr*

Marcy turned around finding the sound much louder this time.

*purr*

Marcy looked down, tracing the sound, only to find an... orange slime ball?

What?

Marcy stared at the slime with two black dots on it, presumably its eyes, with a w-shaped mouth.

Marcy on instinct gasped, kneeling down at the ball of orange smile that chirped in happiness.

"Oh... my... FROG!!!", Marcy practically squealed like a 9-year-old girl.

"Aren't you a little cutey?", she teased it, her eyes glittered in a cartoonish manner.

The creature giggled like a toddler, as it hugged the girl with its tiny slimy arms.

Upon contact with the creature, Marcy suddenly felt... happy? Her negative thoughts and her trauma all melted away as the orange glob hugged her, chirping happily.

Marcy Wu was found on the floor, rolling in laughter with the orange glob of joy.

Back with Anne and Sasha, the two sneaked around the seemingly never-ending maze that was the halls of the facility.

The two tried to find their way back to the Medical wing, but only found themselves lost in the facility.

With the sight of guts, blood, dead bodies of researchers, guards, and what looked like inmates scattered like Christmas decorations all over the facility did not exactly help the two's situation.

The due roamed around for some time, finding themselves right in front of the Heavy Containment Zone's entrance, the entrance to the zone lacked doors, which were on the gound multiple dents on the metal door were visible.

Sasha bent down and frowned, inspecting the broken door, while Anne stood her guard up.

The blonde stood back up and turned back, to face Anne who only stood there frozen, fear reflected in her eyes, staring at something behind Sasha.

And something was telling her it wasn't good news.

"Anne's what's going-"

THUD

The sickening sound of wet flesh dropping on the metal ground could be heard, as Sasha slowly turned behind to face whatever caused the noise, her finger hovering on the trigger.

Sasha gaped in terror at what she saw through the broken gate of the Heavy containment zone.

On the ground, there laid what was once a human's body, which was now in a bloody mess, organs were leaking out of its body, lacking a right arm, while its right eye poked out of its socket.

Right above, the motionless body stood a 3-meter-tall humanoid, with a body resembling that of a hairless chicken, the thing's neck was dislocated while its face had some resemblance to that of a human's head with a mix of other animals.

The creature screeched at the duo.

Only two words were able to leave Sasha's mouth as the creature charged at them, "Ah, crud".

Notes:

As soon as I saw Moon_Man's comment I couldn't resist putting 999 here, but for now, Marcy gets that privilege. Anyways, SashAnne gets traumatized

Chapter 9: Run

Summary:

Anne and Sasha try to run away from 3199 as Marcy starts to try to find a way out.

Chapter Text

The muzzle of the sub-machine gun flared a blinding orange as metal projectiles exited from the tip in bursts, hitting the incoming beast, momentarily stopping the abomination's advance.

Sasha stood her ground, her finger still pressing on the trigger as kept firing upon the bird-human hybrid, whatever that thing was, until the magazine of the P-90 ran out.

The blonde clicked only to find the weapon had run out of ammo.

The creature who had just recovered from the barrage only looked unfazed by the hail of bullets.

With only a few cuts on its skin.

The creature stood its ground, shrieking once more in pure rage at the girl, before charging at the blonde.

On instinct, Sasha threw the P-90 to the face of the creature, shattering the smg and also fazing the creature for a second.

Anne using this as a distraction grabbed Sasha by the hand as she began to run, pulling Sasha with her.

The two ran, both being chased by the creature.

"We need to shake that thing off!", Sasha yelled behind Anne, slamming a button and causing a door behind her to close only for the man-chicken thing to slam into it, knocking the door down after several successful hits.

"How?", Anne asked, looking at Sasha, while running.

"Can you still use your Anime powers?", the blonde questioned.

"I-i don't know.", Anne answered, unsure.

"Don't know? What do you mean you don't know?", Sasha whisper-yelled, pulling Anne to a corner, as the creature passed by.

Did we finally lose it?

"Ever since I woke up here, I couldn't use it anymore. It's like something's preventing me from using my powers.", Anne explained, looking down at her two hands.

"Great, as if things could get worse."

BOOM!!!

"Woah!"

Another explosion rang across the facility, as another earthquake raged across the ground, small cracks manifesting on the ground and walls, one crack splitting the circular logo on the wall in half.

"Aaaand I jinxed it", Sasha said, slapping herself on the face.

Then, the all too familiar haunting sound of concrete scraping on the ground could be heard once more, causing the two to fall dead silent.

Dread and fear drilled inside Anne once again for some reason.

The familiar screeching of the creature that chased them earlier could be heard just outside.

In curiosity the two peeked cautiously, trying to see what was going on.

Just a few feet from where Anne and Sasha stood was the hairless chicken-man thing that chased them earlier, in front of the thing stood a... statue?

The statue looked exactly like the silhouette from earlier, that had presumably killed the three people a while ago.

Both sworn that statue wasn't there earlier when they were still chassed by the other monster.

This statue had red spray paint on its upper body, with a peanut-shaped body.

The creature on the other hand the other creature screeched at the statue, ready to pounce.

Unluckily for the creature, the lights above flickered, before momentarily turning off, plunging the entire hallway into darkness, the sound of scrapping concrete could be heard, and then

Crunch!

A sickening crunch rang across the hallway, the lights turned back on only for Anne and Sasha to see the creature from earlier, that had survived being shot at and was strong enough to knock down steel doors, drop dead.

Its neck had been broken, the head twisted to a mentally painful angle.

Right in front of the dead body?

The fucking statue.

Somehow, the statue fucking moved.

Sasha gasped in horror, not because she felt bad for the creature that had tried to kill them both earlier, but at how something that shrugged off bullets just dropped dead by a fucking statue.

Anne on the other hand kept quiet, feeling the darkness surrounding her, feeling the stare of the statue burrow to her very core.

"Run", a distorted deep demonic-like voice inside her head whispered.

What?

"Run", the voice whispered once more.

"Who-who said that?", Anne asked as she turned behind, trying to find the source of the voice.

"Anne?", a worried Sasha asked, she looked at Anne for a second, but the sound of scrapping concrete was heard again, causing the Blonde to redirect her attention to the noise.

Sasha peeked back to see what that was only to see the peanut-shaped statue right in front of her now just several feet away from her.

Sasha jumped back on surprise and on instinct Sasha pressed a button right next to her, causing a steel door to fall from above creating a barrier between the two, she turned back to Anne who had fallen to her knees, grunting in pain, her eyes shut as her hands covered her ears.

Sasha kneeled down at Anne's eye level, grabbing the Thai by her shoulders as she started to shake and call Anne's name, trying to make her friend snap out of what was happening to her.

Voices flooded Anne's head, causing the Thai to fall to her knees, not noticing that Sasha called her name in panic.

"shut up, shut up, shut up, shut up, shut up, shut up, shut up, shut up", Anne repeated feeling pain striking her head, opening her eyes momentarily, not noticing her eyes flashing a faint scarlet red, which changed to a faint blue as the voices got louder and clearer every second these voices sputtered more nonsense.

Out of all the voices that flooded her head, only one voice was audible enough to be heard.

"It's him", the same voice whispered inside her head.

A name rang inside Anne's head repeatedly.

"The Koitern"

"The Koitern"

"The Koitern"

"The Koitern"

"The Koitern"

The name repeated and repeated over and over again, causing Anne to cover her ears to stop the voices.

The voices suddenly stopped, but not before the same demonic voice that had told her to run spoke one last time, delivering what seemed like something that belonged in religious text and mythological books.

"The mighty Koitern, he who slaughtered a tenth of creation", whatever voice inside Anne said in a sing-song manner.

"The only one who Atanti-ql-Paneu feared", it continued.

"Who slaughtered those that did not meet his gaze."

"Sparred a few until they lost his gaze."

"The Koitern, with his heart of stone."

"He who survived the world's end."

Finally, it stopped, with the faint ringing and echoing of those words slowly dissipating into silence.

Unfortunately for Anne, that silence was short-lived, as the alarms around the facility brought her back to reality.

Anne let out a soft groan as she slowly, but surely came back to her senses.

She opened her eyes again only to find herself face to face with Sasha.

She felt an arm carry her from her back and her legs only to find herself being scooped up by the blonde and then carried effortlessly with one hand as Sasha ran the opposite way where she saw the peanut-shaped statue in front of a broken steel door as a sound of a button pressed was heard as a steel wall dropped from above.

Anne despite the situation and the amount of dread she felt from the statue, blushed in embarrassment due to her current position.

"Anne!!! Anne!!!"

Sasha called out at her best friend who had collapsed on her knees on the floor.

"shut up, shut up, shut up, shut up, shut up, shut up, shut up, shut up"

"Anne, what's going on!?"

Anne opened her eyes, filling Sasha with hope, only for them to flash a faint... scarlet red

What?

Before it glowed a faint blue, closing her eyes back shut right after that. Leaving behind a puzzled and extremely worried Sasha Waybright.

The sound of banging on the metal door was then heard as if the situation wasn't bad already.

Small dents appeared all over the door, causing Sasha to panic further.

Sasha looked for a way out, finding the hallway continuing all the way to the opposite side where that statue was.

Wasting no time Sasha scooped up Anne with her hands, she carried Anne effortlessly with one hand, not noticing her wake up as she began to run in the opposite direction and on time, the door that kept whatever that concrete abomination was broken down.

The statue advanced at unnatural speeds but was cut short by Anne Boonchuy who had just recovered from whatever happened to her by just looking at the peanut-sized statue before another steel door came from above creating another barrier separating the statue from the humans.

[MEDICAL SECTOR]

Marcy had no idea where she was, all she remembered was floating in darkness, randomly seeing bits and pieces of the Core's past, from how it came to be to the very present, then in a bright flash of light, she was separated from the Core, leaving Marcy in the everlasting darkness.

Now, Marcy was in the middle of the main Medical Sector of Site-16, the Taiwanese just recently realizing the situation after being distracted by whatever orange slimy bundle of joy had decided to show up, but she wasn't complaining tho.

The experience of hugging it made her feel a thousand times better, especially after getting stuck in her mind for what felt like years when it was just a couple of weeks.

Marcy approached the glass door, finding it only locked, on instinct Marcy found a nearby solid metal pole lying around and may have thrown it to the glass door too hard.

Shattering not only the glass door but also the glass walls as the pole dug deep into the concrete wall on the other side.

Marcy winced, "Definitely gonna have to remember that".

The Taiwanese stepped through the glass door but heard the ever so irresistible chirp of the orange bundle of joy on the ground as it bumped on Marcy's foot.

Marcy in her mechanical armor grabbed the orange living slimeball with both her hands, holding it in front of her.

"Well can't leave you behind, wherever we are.", she smiled, trailing off a bit at the end, starting to question herself "Where the hell am I?".

The orange bundle of joy only purred in happiness, as it crawled on Marcy's black hair, causing the girl to chuckle and lighten up again.

"Aww-", she smiled, "come on let's find a way out of here...", she says looking at the orange slime on her head, before pausing, "-and find Anne and Sasha while we're at it."

The thing only chirped back in response, making a perfect UwU with its face.

"I have no idea what you're even trying to say.", Marcy laughed.

Marcy eventually exited the medical sector finding herself with what looked like an endless hallway with twists and turns, with opened and closed doors that made the entire place look like a maze.

Due to whatever effects that orange bundle of joy had on Marcy, she wasn't in the mood to complain, instead, she just went forward trying to find a way out, and to find Anne and Sasha.

She went forward, not noticing a black-inky puddle on the ground just several behind her form as a black rotten figure drenched in black color emerged from the puddle, with a wide unsettling predatory grin on its face, setting its eyes on Marcy.

Back with Anne and Sasha, the two could still be seen running through the hallways, with Anne, being the one with the free hand closing the doors, trying to lose whatever neck-snapping monster was chasing them.

Sasha, turned a sharp right, nearly throwing Anne off her, causing the Thai to yelp.

Eventually, Sasha stopped running and the two had hidden behind what looked like a janitor's room.

Sasha dropped to the floor, sitting on it as she panted, sweat dropping off her face, recovering from just running for their lives.

"Did we lose it?", Sasha asked between her breaths.

Anne peeked behind the gap in the door, finding nothing.

"I think so.", Anne guessed, still peeking behind the door, scanning outside for other dangers.

The ground shook again, but this time a loud and deafening roar could be heard, sending a chill to both Anne and Sasha's spines as the two held on to whatever they could to stop themselves from falling.

More alarms were set off as a new announcement reached the speakers,

"WARNING!!! WARNING!!! SCP-682 HAS BROKEN OUT OF CONTAINMENT, I REPEAT SCP-682 HAS BROKEN OUT OF CONTAINMENT!!! REQUESTING ALL MOBILE TASK FORCE UNITS TO REDIRECT TO THE HEAVY CONTAINMENT ZONE IMMEDIATELY!!!"

Anne and Sasha gave each other a worrying look.

Both had no idea what this 'SCP-682' was, but they could tell just from the pure fear radiating from the announcer's voice behind the speakers was clear that this was not good news.

Chapter 10: The Escape

Summary:

The last three humans finally escape the facility.

Notes:

SURPRISE, I'M BACK FROM THE FUCKING DEAD

(See the end of the chapter for more notes.)

Chapter Text

Gunfire and explosions filled the Heavy Containment Zone as more and more Guards filled the area in a futile effort to re-contain SCP-682.

The walls were painted red with blood, and the entire area was littered with the bloody-red remains of the guards.

One by one the sounds of the gunfire started to dwindle, replaced with the horrified gut-wrenching screams of men and women, all no match for the mighty reptile.

Slowly their forces shrank before one last guard was left, cowering under the almost 3-meter-tall reptile.

The reptile looked down at the human, feeling a pang of joy at seeing a creature he found so disgusting and unnatural cower before him.

And in one swift motion, 682 lunged its mouth at the terrified man, jaws wide open, engulfing half the body, then clammed its jaws tight in another motion.

Red liquid and the man's guts and insides splattered everywhere, and his gut-wrenching screams drowned inside the reptile. 682 swallowed half of the man's body, directing it to its extremely violent acid stomach.

After just effortlessly dealing with the humans the reptile looked around the area, satisfied with its work.

Then, it casually left the area.

Finding a way out of this wretched prison, just so it could finally exterminate every last of these abominations in this miserable world.

The lights on the ceiling flickered as the ground shook violently, cracks splitting open on the walls.

While Marcy Wu held onto the railings trying not to lose her balance and fall for the hundredth time in her life.

A deafening roar was heard, sending chills down to Marcy's core as faint noises of explosions and gunfire were heard, along with the horrified screams of both men and women, making Marcy's stomach feel sick.

Marcy was starting to get tired of lizards, first Andrias, his stupid ancestors that turned Andrias and her into what they were now and now... whatever this thing was.

The giant reptilian-like creature on all four legs could be seen on the CCTV's monitor screen with the flashing label "SCP-682 CONTAINMENT BREACH".

This "682" shrugged bullets and even grenades. The reptile dealt with the humans surrounding him with ease, leaving behind a bloody and gory mess that nearly made Marcy puke.

And for some reason, the orange bundle of joy had made tiny squeaks of joy and had left her head to smooch its body onto the monitor projecting the reptile.

Marcy was puzzled and confused about how such a cute and innocent thing could have what looked like a liking to something that had just murdered several people in front of her eyes, which probably isn't good for her mental health.

Marcy pressed a button on the console connected to the monitors, changing the scenery on the screen.

She scanned each corner of the CCTV systems for an exit that she could head to or for Anne and Sasha.

Unfortunately for her, whoever designed this place was probably insane to connect apparently what looked like a hundred or more cameras set in the facility to a single monitor, which made it more tiring and annoying to just keep pressing the same button and then scan the room for an exit or Anne or Sasha.

The Taiwanese got increasingly frustrated every time she pressed the same button, finding nothing, but corners of hallways that were either empty or littered with the bloody remains of people.

And thanks to her newfound strength she accidentally broke the console locking the CCTV monitor to display the outside of the CCTV room itself.

In her frustration Marcy brought down both her fists on the console breaking it completely, wires, buttons and parts flew momentarily everywhere, the monitor in response only glitched violently.

She huffed and huffed, feeling rage boiling inside her not realizing her eyes glowed a valiant orange and a faint green for a split second.

A faint cluster of voices at the back of her head whispered.

It's no use child.

Let us take control.

Only the Core can save you now.

Embrace us, child.

Then, those whispers turned into yelling.

LET US BACK IN CONTROL!!!

YOU CAN NOT DEFY US!!!

DO NOT RESIST!!!

Obey...

Obey...

Obey us...

Voice flooded Marcy's head as voices familiar and newly started screaming into her mind, the girl collapsed on her knees and clutched her head in pain, letting out a loud pained scream as she fought back whatever was trying to take control of her.

Her eyes flickered between orange and brown.

The orange glob of joy in concern cautiously dropped to the concrete floor as it approached Marcy in concern.

Marcy had continued fighting the voices in her head, then suddenly it all stopped. Everything felt peaceful and quiet... too quiet.

Whatever assaulted her mind suddenly stopped, the voices dropped as the faint echoes of those voices were drowned by the sudden silence.

Marcy opened her eyes and let go of her head, she blinked several times, dazed by whatever happened.

She stood back up, rubbing her eyes, feeling her head aching.

After partially recovering, she looked down to see the orange bundle of joy looking at something behind her.

Before she could talk or do anything else, the sound of sludge moving could suddenly be heard behind her.

Marcy froze at the sudden noise, she slowly turned around, feeling like the situation she was in was ripped off straight from a horror movie.

She prepared herself for a jumpscare and a possible fight.

She turned and saw nothing, but a black-inky-like puddle on the ground.

Was that there before?. she questions, putting her guard down in confusion.

Suddenly an inky black hand burst out of the puddle causing Marcy to yelp and jump back in surprise, which then causes her to trip over a wire making her land on her back. The black hand started to secrete some kind of inky black substance that started causing the surrounding metal touched by the said liquid to rust. Another hand burst out of the puddle as an elderly pitch-black humanoid emerged from the puddle with a deranged grin on its face.

A foul smell had also entered the room, comparable to that of a decomposing corpse.

Marcy had to cover her mouth to stop herself from puking.

Whatever that thing was, started to approach Marcy slowly, with its deranged and sadistic grin.

The girl in fear crawled back, trying to get as much distance from the old man.

Because of her panic, she accidentally bangs her head against something.

"Ow!", She slipped and her head makes contact with what felt like a switch.

Suddenly, a blinding light flashed from above, causing Marcy to close her eyes shut for a second.

Meanwhile, the creature released an inhuman screech as it cowered in pain, causing it to cover its eyes too.

Despite having a hard time seeing things, Marcy, who had just recovered, used this as an opportunity.

She grabbed the orange bundle of joy and dashed to the open door, passing right by the old man that cowered at the blinding light.

Marcy stopped to a halt after running for her dear life when she reached the elevator.

In a pure state of panic, she quickly pressed the buttons on the elevator to close and get her out of this mess.

The doors closed, sending a wave of relief to the Taiwanese.

She lay at the walls of the elevator, panting, taking deep breaths, trying to recharge her energy.

The elevator pinged as it halted to a stop.

The elevator doors opened as an alert and cautious Marcy Wu exited the elevator, the orange glob of joy following suit.

Marcy walked around for a while, still trying to find Anne and Sasha and to find a way out of this place.

Eventually, she stopped at the front of a giant steel gate, which had the words "GATE-A" engraved on it in bold.

Marcy slowly approached the gate, inspecting it.

She tried to peek through the small gap between the gate, trying to see what was on the other side.

All she saw was an empty room with what looked like an open elevator in the corner of the empty room.

Hoping this was her ticket out of this place, decided to force the doors open with her bare hands.

She grunted as she attempted to force the Gate open, but despite her newfound strength she only managed to open the gate a couple of inches.

Enough for something as large as a finger to fit through.

Not, giving up she slid her two hands between the gap and then tried to push the Gate apart.

She held her breath and tried to push with everything she had, but the Gate barely budged.

An exhausted Marcy dropped to the ground, she leaned on the gate taking deep breaths and wiping some sweat that dripped down her face.

While the orange glob of joy just forced itself through the gap, successfully squeezing itself through the gap.

"Guess that's the perks of being made of non-Newtonian liquid.", Marcy said as the glob of joy chirped happily.

Marcy giggled at the chirp, smiling at the creature as it chirped back.

After a few moments of resting, Marcy stood back up, determined in finding a way to get the Gate open.

She scanned the room for anything that could help, Marcy set her eyes on a small control pad at the right side of the Gate.

Upon approaching the control pad, she inspected it, trying to find a way to use it.

"Huh, looks like this needs a keycard to be opened. Too bad I don't have one", she muttered, inspecting a small slot presumably for a keycard.

"I think we can help with that", an all too familiar voice interrupted her thoughts.

Marcy froze at the all-too-familiar voice, her eyes wide open in shock.

It can't be.

She turned around to the source of the voice, only to face her two childhood best friends.

"Anne? Sasha?"

Anne and Sasha both stood right in front of Marcy.

She couldn't believe it, was she dreaming? Is this another trick by the Core? Was any of this real?

"Hey Mar-mar", Anne greeted in her sweet calm voice, carrying Sasha's arm around her neck.

Unable to hold her excitement off, she dashes right at Anne and Sasha, tears welling in her eyes as she tackled the two down.

Anne yelped and Sasha winced in pain as the trio fell to the ground.

Marcy cried, hugging the two and the pair hugged back.

Tears rolled down Marcy's face, unable to hold her emotions as her guilt started to resurface.

"You-you guys are alive!!!", squeezing Anne and Sasha, knocking the air in their lungs out.

"Anne... Sasha, I-I'm so sorry.", the Taiwanese apologized; sobbing hardly into the pair's chests.

"What I did was soo dumb. I-I"

"I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm so sorry.", Marcy repeated, while Anne and Sasha only looked down at their sobbing friend in sympathy.

"We know," Anne said softly with a soft smile, hugging the smaller girl tightly as she closed her teary eyes, "And we forgive you", Sasha added, joining in the embrace, tears rolling down the supposedly toughest girl in the trio.

How?

That was what Marcy could only think about:

How?

Why?

No, she doesn't deserve it.

She breaks down in tears and choked sobs left baffled and shocked at how easily Anne and Marcy forgive her.

She knows that she doesn't deserve it.

Why would they even forgive her? After all the manipulation she had done, getting her childhood friends stuck in another world, almost getting them killed, and then causing a tyrannical empire to rise, hellbent on conquering Earth for their own selfish desires even becoming a host for these rulers.

Yet, after all of that, they simply forgave her.

"How"

Marcy asked, her voice shaky, her throat weak from crying.

Anne and Sasha gently let go of the hug, both having sympathetic looks all for Marcy.

"How... how, can you forgive me? Why... why aren't you mad at me?"

"Because we understood.", Anne answered, her voice ever so soft.

"Bu-but, that doesn't excuse what I did!", Marcy shouted, tears started leaking down her eyes again.

"We know,"

"BUT THAT DOESN'T CHANGE THE FACT I NEARLY GOT YOU TWO KILLED!", the Taiwanese girl let it all out, the emotions she tried to contain, her guilt, her anger, all popped like a bloated balloon.

"Mar-mar", Sasha started.

"Don't Mar-mar me". Marcy pulled away from the hug looking away from Sasha, not being able to meet her eyes.

"If there's anyone you should blame, it should be me. If... if I was a better friend to you and Anne maybe, this", Sasha motioned her hands to the Foundation logo on the wall.

"-All of this would have never happened. If I wasn't a manipulative a-hole and didn't take you two for granted, then Andrias wouldn't have gotten the box and we wouldn't be stuck in this place at all!"

Marcy had stopped crying but was still far away from the girls, wiping her tears away.

Anne looked at the blonde in sympathy, she kept quiet for some time before deciding to speak up.

"Marce-", she looked at the brunette who withered under her gaze, "-you, you should blame me too. If I had a backbone and didn't just follow whatever Sasha said, then we wouldn't be in this mess in the first place.", Anne looked down with guilt, her eyes watery.

The three kept quiet for some time, then Marcy gathering her courage to speak spoke, her voice tired and weak from crying.

"I'm sorry.", she whispers audible enough for her two BFFs to hear.

The two approached her and embraced the smaller girl in a small and soft hug, "So are we."

"I know, and I forgive you two.", Marcy smiles, feeling more happier than ever.

Sasha pulled away from the hug with a smile, "Well since we have that settled now, why don't we go back and deal with trying to get out of here.", the blonde pulled a keycard from her back pocket.

"Sweet! Just what I needed", Marcy gratefully took the card swiping it across the panel causing a bright green light to beep.

The sounds of mechanical whirs and pistons started to come to life as the metal gate started to open.

"Sooo, Sash where'd you get the card?", Marcy asked feeling excited. God, it was refreshing seeing Mar-mar excited again.

Sasha smiled nervously, not sure if telling Marcy that she took it from someone's dead body would be great. Anne had done the same, not knowing how to deliver the news to the youngest of the trio.

Sasha laughed nervously, quickly scanning for a way to wiggle herself out of the question, she sees the door nearly completely open, "Oh, hey mar-mar look the gate's open!", she blurts out immediately, redirecting the shorter girl's attention.

Just like that the trio passed through the now-open gate, they cautiously kept quiet and scanned their surroundings.

Marcy being closest to the elevator inspected it for any threats finding none.

"Guys, I think this might be our ticket out of here", she whisper and yelled, entering the elevator.

Anne and Sasha had started to approach Marcy until Anne tripped on something.

The Thai fell face first on the ground with a yelp, she felt something wet and slimy brush on her ankle.

She turned around only to see an orange mass of slime with two black dots on it, presumably eyes. She felt a pang of joy inside her spark upon touching the creature but unfortunately due to her instincts, she jerked away and crawled back from the creature.

"WHAT THE FUCK IS THAT!", Anne swore, Sasha and Marcy, wincing at the swear.

Sasha being overprotective, grabbed a pole with a sharp end on it, placing herself between the glob and Anne pointing it aggressively at the creature.

Amid the panic, before Sasha could strike Marcy put herself in front of the glob of joy, "Woah, Woah, Woah, guys calm down, calm down!", Marcy begged.

Sasha stared in confusion, "You know what... that thing is?".

"Yup, and don't worry guys, he, er, she, well whatever its pronouns are. But I do assure you as the smartest in our group, that squishy orange blob of joy is anything, but dangerous.", Marcy assures the blonde, despite what Marcy said she was still slightly disgusted by the glob. Yes, it looked cute, but something about how runny that thing was made her resist the urge to gag.

"Just, don't let it touch me. I still haven't recovered from the whole Mother Olm experience.", Sasha shuddered, while Anne giggled in amusement causing the blonde to turn to glare at the Thai.

"Sure.", Marcy said, scooping up the glob as bits and small pieces dripped from the slime getting a disgusted look from Sasha.

"Mother who, now?", the Taiwanese looked at the blonde with a puzzled face.

"Long story, can we just talk about this later, once we get out of whatever this place is?", Sasha answered entering the elevator.

The rest of the trio agreed, both following the blonde, before Sasha closed the elevator, pressing the G button in the contraption.

The elevator came to a stop and opened its doors as the trio stepped out of it.

Rays of sunlight hit the outside of the elevator, they were blinding for the trio due to how long the three were stuck in a place lacking natural light.

The 3 covered their eyes taking a full minute for their eyes to adjust to the lighting.

The glob of joy perched on Marcy's shoulder leaped off her shoulder, dropping itself to the ground, chirping happily with the sunlight.

The girls felt a sense of relief washing all over them.

"It's over, it's finally over.", Anne exclaimed with a bitter smile on her face, knowing that her, Marcy's, and Sasha's lives were changed forever.

"Sunlight! Oh sweet Earth Sunlight I'd never thought that I would miss you.", Marcy dramatically said, dropping into the concrete ground with a yelp, bathing herself in the sun's rays.

While Sasha was just distancing herself from the glob of joy that played with Marcy on the ground.

The sounds of helicopter motors cut the trio's celebration short with the PA systems blaring at what felt like their maximum volume.

"MOBILE TASK FORCE UNIT NU-7, DESIGNATED: HAMMER DOWN, HAS ENTERED THE SITE. ALL SURVIVING PERSONNEL ARE TO PROCEED WITH STANDARD EVACUATION PROTOCOLS UNTIL AN MTF SQUAD REACHES THEIR DESTINATION. AWAITING RE-CONTAINMENT OF... 14 EUCLID CLASS SCPS AND 3 KETER CLASS SCPS,"

Several helicopter carrier's landed just right in front of the trio, the bottom hatch of the helicopter opened as several men in heavy armor armed with rifled, launchers, and even miniguns poured out of the helicopter.

The troops were quick to surround the trio, pointing their weapons at the girls as the glob of joy only chirped and approached the seemingly hostile troops.

Sasha, being the overprotective one in the trio, defensively placed herself in front of Anne and Marcy, glaring at the troops.

Finally, one last aircraft, looking a lot like an osprey, but with rockets instead of rotors on the sides landed behind the troops.

The craft didn't look like anything you'd see in a standard modern military, it looked futuristic, more... advanced.

Anne however was quick to recognize the models of the aircraft during her battle with Andrias.

A humanoid figure, excited the craft. With each step of its metallic foot, mechanical whirs could be heard. The figure wore a black mask, with a matching pitch-black visor, with several glowing lines illuminating all over it, more lines could be seen tracing from its dark armor.

The humanoid held its right hand in the air, fist closed.

"Hold your fire!", it commanded. And just like that, the troops simultaneously put their rifles down, their fingers moving away from the triggers.

The figure approached the trio, with each step getting closer to the trio. With a slight feeling of the ground shaking lightly just from the sheer force of each step.

The figure seemingly got taller and larger as it approached them, then it stopped, the mechanical whirs of pistons stopping.

It stopped just several meters away from the group, right in front of the glob of joy.

It looked down at the glob, before taking another good look at the trio.

"Secure SCP-999... And get a medical team to check on the 8592 instances.", it said, looking down at the glob which it called SCP-999, before scooping it up and just casually walking away with the SCP.

A squad of troops approached the trio as the figure turned around. They still held their rifles in their hands, but their fingers weren't anywhere near the trigger which was good.

A couple of minutes later, the troops escorted the trio near one of the helicopters, one of them having a black eye.

Long story short, it took some time for the troops to convince Sasha to escort them, which led to a small fight with a 13-year-old girl somehow winning in a fistfight with a trained MTF operative. Several of the troops snickered at their comrade with the black eye, with Sasha looking quite proud of her work.

The troops stopped just in front of one of the helicopter carriers, the doors, just beginning to open, where several people with medical equipment resided.

They were quick to pour out of the vehicle, examining the trio's fair share of wounds and bruises in their time in the facility.

Anne had to personally restrain Sasha just so they could clean Sasha's not fully healed wound on her eye.

Once that was over Anne stood back as she watched the medics interviewing her friends as they tended their wounds.

She smiled at the sight of her friends finally, after all these months of dread, nightmares, and thoughts of them being dead and in danger, safe now.

Andrias was probably in a secured Earth prison, the Core presumably destroyed. The invasion stopped

It was all over...

THE END...

BOOM!!!

A deafening explosion went off.

Debris was flung everywhere as a huge stray of concrete and rebar hit a helicopter in the air, causing it to light into flames, before crashing into the ground, its rotors nearly nailing several MTF operatives.

The explosion was quickly traced back to the damn facility, where a deafening, bone-chilling roar came.

The ground shook, as the facility's roof collapsed.

Attack helicopters suddenly started surrounding the roofless facility, sending an endless barrage of missiles and gunfire.

The ground troops also mobilized, and 4 of them were left to keep watch of SCP-999 and the trio.

Armored tanks and vehicles surrounded the facility, all of their weapons ready to shred whatever would come their way.

Anne, Marcy, and Sasha were all quick to check on what the hell was happening only to be stopped by the four soldiers just right outside the helicopter carrier.

"What the hell is going on!?", Sasha was the first to ask, concern and a hint of panic could be heard in those words as she tried to balance herself as the ground shook once more.

The soldiers however did not answer their questions, "Ms. Waybright calm down. We just need to get you three out of here now!!!".

One of the four troops said as the helicopter's rotors came to life, but just before the three could re-enter the carrier, the attack helicopter that was closest to the ground was stabbed by a flesh-like tendril that came from the destroyed facility.

The vehicle went up in flames before being thrown away by the tendrils. The destroyed copter was heading directly to the carrier.

"Incoming!", one of the soldiers yelled, causing the rest of the group to scramble as far away from the carrier.

The debris of the destroyed attack helicopter slammed at the carrier, just before it could fly away. The force of the impact ruptured the fuel source as the remaining missiles and gunpowder in the vehicle caused a giant explosion, sending the group away, and causing several burns and bruises.

The trio groaned, their ears ringing as they got up. Marcy was helping Anne up as Sasha was helping one of the downed soldiers.

Before anyone else could do anything, the ground shook once more as gunfire and more explosions went off and another bone-chilling roar came exiting the facility.

"What... was that?!", Anne's panicked voice asked, feeling the dreadful feeling of fear, not for herself, but her friends.

"Oh god."

One of the soldier's eyes opened wide in fear as the earth shook once again, and alarms blared again as a silhouette became recognizable in the smoke and dust.

A growl escaped from the figure, as a gigantic reptilian crocodile-like creature emerged from the rubble, its long spike tail was covered in blood as the same sharp tendrils from earlier shrunk back into the reptile's back, shifting back into spikes.

The creature's jaw glowed green, and panic ensued.

The tanks started driving back, as soldiers either ran or fired their rifles and launchers at the creature.

The reptile was left unfazed and it opened its jaw, releasing a stream of bright-green liquid. Tanks and helicopters were first targeted by the reptile, as soon as the liquid made contact with the metallic shell of the vehicles, it began to sizzle, before dissolving the vehicles instantly, leaving behind nothing but a puddle of sticky glowing green acid on the ground.

People were next, their horrified screams were downed as soon as they got drenched by acid as Anne, Sasha, and Marcy could only stand by and watch in horror at the events unfolding right in front of them, never thinking that they would ever in their lives see someone much more brutal than the Core's war for conquest and power.

Marcy covered her mouth, Anne looked like she was about to cry, while Sasha was frozen incredibly still, never feeling more terrified in her life.

The unfolding carnage was just drowned by the blaring alarms and sirens as the PA systems played their last message before being destroyed by the reptile.

"WARNING SCP-682 HAS BROKEN OUT OF GATE-A, I REPEAT SCP-682 HAS BROKEN OUT OF GATE-A. ALL MTF UNITS ARE TO REPORT TO GATE-A NOW!!! I REPEAT ALL MTF UNITS ARE TO REPORT TO GATE-A NOW!!! ALL UNITS MUST REPO-"

SCP-682 smacked the PA systems with its spiked tail, and the system glitches for a moment before the warning comes to a sudden halt. The reptile then turned itself to the remaining survivors of the onslaught.

The reptile growled aggressively at the terrified personnel. They were quick to start firing their rifles and launchers at the anomaly, but the creature was simply unfazed as it let out a deep and sinister laugh.

"Fools!!!", the beast barked at the now-cowering humans. Their rifles now out of ammo. "How does it feel?", The reptile stepped forward, a crack formed under the pressure of its limbs. "To be so powerless, now that I am relieved of these chains?", now the reptile had lowered its head enough for the soldiers to stop looking up.

It screamed, "Now, I will correct the mistakes HE has created. Starting with your WRETCHED KIND!!!"

With that, the mighty beast roared, shaking the Earth beneath causing walls to fall and buildings to collapse. The reptile raised its claws high in the air, before bringing them down at the cowering humans.

They closed their eyes, covering themselves protectively, waiting for the blow to come and send them to their maker... if there really was one.

But...

... the blow never came.

Slowly and surely, and one by one they all opened their eyes, watching a figure in blazing blue hovering in the air. The figure strained to block the claw from the reptile.

"Get... out of her.", the one and only Anne Boonchuy said, holding her breath as the reptile started to push her back. The MTF squad quickly complied with no questions,  running away to safety.

The enraged beast pulled its claw back and with a defeating roar swung its spiked tail at the floating girl. Anne's eyes opened wide she gasped, quickly disappearing in a flash of blue. Reappearing just behind the reptile, who turned to face the child only to growl dangerously.

Anne's eyes narrowed at the reptile as it did the same. SCP-682 slowly circled the girl, as if it was prey letting out a spine-chilling laugh.

Anne felt uneasy hearing the beast laugh sadistically but she held her ground, circling the lizard as it did the same. She frowned at the reptile, anticipating its next move.

"Well... isn't this a surprise.", it smiled maliciously.

"I suppose you're new in this endless prison, are you not?", the reptile stops circling as it looked Anne right in the eye.

Anne stood silent only glaring at the reptile as it laughed once more.

"I'll take your silence as a yes."

Anne glares deeper at the reptile, she hesitates to ask for a moment but she does so anyway.

"Wha-what are you?", she asked, watching as the reptile began to circle her once more. It laughs, then it answers.

"I'm a tool, just like you and your kind. Used by that old fool only to be set aside when your wretched kind came to be."

Prisoner? What does he mean by 'prisoner'?

"What do you mean by 'tool'?", she asks, feeling puzzled.

"Let's just say you'll find out soon enough... if you'll live."

And just before Anne could even process what it said, the reptile roared loudly making Anne jump in surprise. 682 then raised its tail in the air as spikes started to protrude from the flesh. It swung its tail at hypersonic speeds throwing several deadly sharp spiked bones at the girl.

Anne quickly moved, successfully dodging the spikes in the air.

As the blue-cladded warrior dodged the last pieces of spikes in the air, she charges at the reptile at immeasurable speeds. Balling her right fist tightly as a blaze of intense blue flame formed around it. As she dodged the last projectile, she teleports at what was presumably the reptile's blind spot bringing her fist down, only for several fleshy tendrils to exit the beast's back. The tendrils whacked Anne away as if she was but a pest as her friends can only watch in horror her crash into a nearby gas truck and explode.

"ANNE!!!", Sasha and Marcy watched in absolute horror, catching the attention of the reptile itself.

SCP-682 turned to the duo as they stood frozen in shock and fear. The reptile screeched and pounced at the two, but before it could even land a single claw on the two a flaming truck crashed into the reptile.

It screeched in pain as the burning gasoline leaked into its eyes.

The mighty beast turned to face Anne, her eyes glowing brighter than ever and filled with more rage than ever before.

"Leave... them... ALONE.", she practically growled, as the blazing aura surrounding her intensified causing pebbles and other lightweight objects started to float into the air.

She held her right hand out which pulsed with dangerous amounts of energy. A series of faint and muffled "BOOMs" could be heard within the broken facility. As Sasha, Marcy and the reptile watched the facility explode in blue light. A sword, whose blade glowed blue spun into the air at high speeds landing right at the hand of the champion of Calamity, now clad in gold and cyan armor materializing around her.

The hero stood with sword in hand,

Her gaze fixed on the beast so grand.

Ready to fight with all her might,

To protect all she held dear.

The creature let out a deafening roar,

Causing the earth to shake and more.

Green flames spewed from its jaws,

Destroying all with wicked claws.

With wings as scaly as can be,

The beast emerged, wild and free.

I t sought to bring an end to man,

To fulfill its father's dark and evil plan.

The hero stood in stark contrast,

A force of hope that would last.

She shone with colors bright and true.

The embodiment of life anew.

The beast, a creature of decay,

A source of death in every way.

A slave to the king,

it served with fear,

Its fate was always so near.

But the hero, a champion of the light,

She fought with all her might.

To defend what was good and right,

And conquer evil with all her sight.

The battle between the hero and the beast unfolded in a blur of vibrant colors. The sky was painted with flashes of blinding cyan and decayed green as the two clashed.

A massive beam of green light cut through the clouds, narrowly missing the hero and leaving a clear path in the sky. Without hesitation, the hero threw her blade at the beast, and it collided with the scorching beam of decay.

The clash of opposing forces pushed both sides closer and closer until the blade finally pierced the beast's snout. The resulting explosion filled the sky with blinding cyan light, as chunks of flesh and blood rained down on the beast.

Roaring in agony and fury, the beast prepared to unleash another blast of scorching fire on the hero. But to its surprise, the hero had vanished from its sight.

CRACK!!!

Suddenly, the hero reappeared behind the beast in a blur of motion, her hand wrapped tightly around her blade. With her azure eyes fixed on the beast, she showed no emotion as she swiftly tore the blade from its jaw.

The reptile let out another agonizing scream, and more chunks of flesh and blood spewed everywhere, staining the hero's armor with its gore. The beast's jaw hung dangerously, stripped of its flesh and muscle, bleeding profusely. Its eyes flashed red with rage and pain.

In an instant, a bright green light emitted from the monster's ruined jaw aimed directly at the hero. The force of the blast hit her like a freight train, propelling her across the sky. As the hero tumbled through the air, the beast's destroyed jaw was flung away, making way for a new one to grow in its place.

The beast bellowed a furious roar, launching itself toward the hero with unprecedented rage.

Their clash echoed throughout the skies, reverberating through the heavens above and the earth below. The hero, a mere streak of blue light, battled against the beast's fiery red and decaying green glow.

The reptile's strikes became increasingly difficult to evade, growing more potent with each hit. The hero struggled to keep pace, slowing down as the beast fed off the violence and bloodlust.

As they continued their aerial combat, a trail of scarlet and decaying green chased the hero's blue wake across the clouds.

Suddenly, the hero pivoted and extended her arm, summoning a circular rune of cyan energy. A blinding flash erupted from the rune as she unleashed an uncontrollable beam of her own. Though the beast was larger, it barely managed to dodge the blast, feeling the heat as it narrowly evaded the attack.

Undeterred, the hero fired again, the beam grazing the beast's scaly wings and eliciting a pained hiss. But the beast persisted, flying closer and closer to the hero as she unleashed a third blast.

This time, however, the beast opened its newly-formed jaw and let loose a crimson blast that collided with the hero's blue beam. The resulting explosion knocked the hero back, dazed and injured.

As she regained consciousness, she saw the beast's spiked tail hurtling toward her face. Reacting on instinct, the hero focused her energy and created a circular shield rune, just in time to block the attack and prevent a gruesome fate.

With a strike of its spiked tail, the shield shattered into shards. The hero was sent flying to the ground in the blink of an eye, leaving a deep crater on the pavement below. As she struggled to regain her footing, her armor bore dents and scratches, while her skin was decorated with small cuts and bruises. With a grunt, she attempted to stand, but faltered and fell to her knees, feeling warm blood dripping from her nose.

As blood dripped from her nose, she attempted to stand but was promptly thrown back into the crater by the force of the beast's attack. The impact caused the crater to deepen, and she was flung across the pavement like a skipping stone. She collided with the facility's walls, the wind knocked out of her lungs.

She coughed up more blood and clutched her chest, feeling a growing pain. Despite her efforts to resist, the creature's powerful claws pinned her down, causing her holy aura to fade along with her powers.

She struggled to escape the beast's grip but found herself trapped. Summoning her remaining strength, she extended her hand and formed a new rune, unleashing a beam of light toward the creature's face. However, to her dismay, the reptile remained unaffected, and with one swift motion, it clamped down on her hand, causing excruciating pain.

Her friends looked on in horror as the hero's powers were the only thing preventing the beast from tearing her arm off. Anne's eyes, which had been glowing with a bright azure light, returned to their normal brown hue as she attempted to break free from the creature's jaws to no avail.

With desperation setting in, she kicked and wiggled to escape the beast's grip, but it remained unyielding. As her vision blurred and black spots appeared, the claw pressing onto her began to suffocate her.

And something inside her snapped.
