Chapter 1: Prologue
Chapter Text
00: INTRO
"I am that black dragon's older brother.
We may have been born at the same day thousands of years ago, but I was hatched twelve years earlier."
Blink.
Blink.
Huh?
Green reptilian eyes stared blankly towards the dragon half-blood's stunned expression.
"W-what...!"
He has never thought this would happen, nor does he expected it to be alive.
Instinctively clenching his chest to where the beating heart that doesn't belonged to him was, he looked at the small baby red dragon that was hatched five minutes prior his notice.
Why? Why?! I have his heart!
His thoughts have been in chaos as he stared at the egg that's been cracked and to the red dragon that inhabited it. Its scaly skin still covered in a slimy substance that came from the egg while it sat there, staring at him like...
.... like it knew.
Until the dragon half-blood saw something from the remnants of the broken egg. Something red was there as well, deformed almost unrecognizable but despite this, his heart seized even more.
He realized just what it was!
Twins!
The egg was inhabited by twin red dragons!
He pieced it, watching the five hundred year old corpse of the poor dragon left in the egg. He looked back at the other dragon who remained staring at him. His eyes filled with regret.
It knew.
His heart hurt once more. Tears streamed down his eyes as he looked at it with guilt. Slowly taking the living red dragon in his shaky hands, ignoring the icky feeling from the slimy substance that covered the creature.
The red dragon was small like an infant that it was. It's small head was round and smooth, its small body was fragile that its bones might break, his scaly skin was still soft but soon, it will surely stern and harden as years passed. It's going to become a mighty dragon just like the size of its egg.
But that will only be possible if White Star doesn't know of its existence for if he did, the half-blood will be forcibly ordered to eat its heart just like his twin. Yes, he won't know. He will protect this one and that other one.
His eyes then turned towards the smaller black egg.

As always! Thank you for noticing this story!!!!
By the way What's the Dragon Half-blood's name? Was it mentioned anywhere in the previous chapters because all they ever used to address him was Dragon half-blood and nothing else.
Btw. It's pride month so... its bl 🙂.

Chapter 2: The Red Dragon 01
Chapter Text
Ever since he was born, Blain had been called a genius. As obvious as it may seem as he had dabbled his first word as an eight month Infant. He began reading at the age of two. He started elementary at three, skipped grades at five, reached highschool at seven, began joining scientific activities at twelve and graduated college at sixteen.
But despite this, his life story was not publicized nor was his continuous achievements praised.
Why?
Because the world had no time doing trivialities such as awarding and recognition. It was in a state where it's going to be destroyed because of the humans who inhabited it themselves. They kept building and building infrastructures and machines making the world too cramp for everyone and soon took over other planets and its moons including the earth's.
The progress of trying to repair and trying to destroy earth had become so normal, people are just waiting for it to give in and die eventually.
Yet Blain didn't want that. He wanted to restore the world from where it isn't a bunch of a dumpster. He wanted to see the greens he never knew existed.
Trees and plants are rare. Most of the things he saw were mere common grass and trees in the smallest city of the world. To get access to that place, you must pay appropriate price--a fortune.
City of Greenhouse was his inspiration for his researches. He always had a plan in motion for that. What he needed to do was create and make something useful for the war in order to get a name for his place in the world and be recognized, maybe after that his doctrine will be respected.
He wanted the look of the world from when it was two millenniums ago but he knew people would mock his sentiment as it was merely a hopeless wish.
But he didn't give up.
He studied it for years with his friend. He was too close to recreating the world. Just a few more tweaks from his magic serum and the dead soil will harbor back to welcome the beginning of change.
But in a blink of an eye, his dream turned into ashes... literally.
Blain could have sworn that burning alive hurts like shit that you wanted to die the very second the burning flames coveted your life in a slow painful manner.
It took him what? Ten seconds of screaming as he began to burn like some barbequed chow, his skin sizzles disgustingly, listening to its unbearable sound, five seconds enduring the pain on the floor smelling his own burnt flesh, another five seconds feeling his senses to have numbed and then nothing but utter darkness.
That was the most memorable twenty seconds of his life. It was unforgettable and horrifying. A moment that felt like an hour but of course, his logically speaking mind had something else to think about than his death.
He died without seeing the end of this decade of blood spent war. Unable to finish his scientific work that could've been revolutionary than the first. His mind revolving in many ways but one thing took the cake of his current attention.
Yet today, maybe a few moments after his death, his consciousness miraculously returned and his mind quickly flew confusion... or was this just the effects of a smoke drug infused bomb? Had his enemy infiltrated his lab?
A lot of possibilities registered itself to his head. More to his disappointment, he realized that he was sober and his death was real. He wanted to think more, however was stopped as he was distracted by the current event at hand.
What exactly is more important than figuring out why you're still breathing after you've been burned alive, you might ask?
It was the moment Blain Knijah(nay-jah) had opened his eyes only to be welcomed by a scenario he did not expect... to see a crying giant male carrying him.
It looked very sorrowful yet at the same time happy. "I'm sorry I took your brother's life. I'm sorry I couldn't do anything to stop him." He apologized rather weakly. He slowly put the person down again in the table and smiled. "I promise, I'll protect you from him." He spoke.
He tilted his head in questioning manner. This man had spouted nonsense.
Blain did not have a brother, instead, had a younger sister.
During the celestial war in the year 4412AD the Atmospheria period classified as an era beyond earth yet started another never ending world war, his family were included in the thousands of casualties from the bombarding of the star city in the sixth day of April, especially, the Helenden church where most evacuees had rendezvous, killing the people with poisoned smokes that emerged from the bomb.
Him, who was currently in his laboratory that time, heard the news a month later.
Grief? None. He did regret it and had worked his way into creating another invention as primary barrier, avoiding the same mistake happening to their country.
After that, Blain had no lingering emotional attachments to anyone else aside from his best friend Luthen Barrow, who has been protecting him during his research works in dangerous plains and skies.
Unfortunately, Luthen died two years following his family due to an ambush from the sky. Attacked their temporary encampment and died as well to take the shot, protecting Blain on the process.
So Blain grew alone. Twenty years of war continued. Human against human with the use of the uprising technological advancement and AIs.
While Blain had grown to become the head of the research facility, made him as close to death as he should have ever imagined.
And now look at him. Blain Knijah's laboratory built with twelve years of hardwork and worthwhile research exploded because of one single bombing by his own invented bomb that was used against him, getting him caught to the rage of flames and burned him into ashes for twenty seconds after spending twenty four years of his life that day while reading a novel his subordinates had forced him to read;
Trash of the Count's family...
.
"Redika. Hide this egg." The dragon half-blood had instructed the blood crazed mage while entrusting him the black oval egg. "And this child as well." He gave the infant dragon to him as well.
"Where would you want it to be?" Redika questions, a smile on his face as his menacing eyes darted down towards the clueless dragon.
"Away. In some forest." He responded with impatience.
Blain, who had realized Redika's name and description looked up at him with a sharp gaze. Even if he didn't know him at first, he aready didn't like this man.
He was going to cause havoc in the capital plaza and the reason Raon suffered into Venion's hands. Just looking at his face disgusted the red dragon so much it began to squirm from Redika's hold.
"My, it seems afraid." He spoke amused.
"Take the black egg first." The other sighed as he picked up Blain's small transformation.
"Then I shall leave." His heels clopped into the cave. The echoes jumped on each corners until Redika's steps were nowhere to be heard.
Blain thought that he should have stopped him. It was not ideal to leave Raon's unhatched self to that bastard. Though, what could an infant possibly do?
He may be a dragon now, but there are points he lacked. His ability to speak, his control on magic and his feeble body. Compared to them, he was nothing but a but a newborn.
Cale would save him after when he reached four. But when is he going to be hatched? That case aside, the black dragon would still inevitably be tortured for four years since he came late in the story.
Blain thoughtfully tried to note if he is in the current timeline but he had no way of knowing, considering that he is inside a cave and he could not speak yet as he was a mere one day old dyed lizard who's legs wobbled like jello.
Indeed, he didn't really have an emotional attachment to a mere black egg. But at least he had not forsaken his own morality. He still have sympathy despite looking indifferent. At least helping out one kid won't hurt since the big difference with the black egg and his dead family was that, he didn't know it was going to happen while he knew what would happen to the small black egg when it hatched. Besides, Cale will take care of him later.
"Young dragon." The dragon half-blood called as he took a cloth and wiped his sticky skin.
Blain looked up to the man whose eyes were sad.
"You must go with Redika. I have no way of knowing when white star will find out about you while you're with me. Although this is going to be hard, I know you'll get through this. Away from the danger that I may cause you." He explained.
The young dragon stared. Redika isn't a merciful man. Dared he oppose against that blood crazed mage, he'll face death eventually which is a very high probability considering what that bastard could have done in the plaza incident if it weren't for Cale's arrival.
"I know you don't understand me now. But someday, once we meet again, I will tell you this. You may have lost your twin now, but always remember that I'll be here. Although I'm not your brother by blood I'm going to be here for you as I hold your brother's heart." He clasped the young dragon's small paw and smiled.
Blain mentally frowned. It was too cheezy yet at the same time, that sounded very much wrong if he didn't know what 'I hold your brother's heart' meant in the half-blood's description.
Redika returned sooner without the egg. With the half-blood's persuasion, the blood crazed mage had grabbed the infant and put him in a sack to stop the struggles.
Everything happened quite quickly. And before Blain came to realize that he was being abandoned, he already began to submerge into the water.
Great. Just when he was reborn, he's going to be killed?
The red egg was basically a nonexistent character only to be brought up dead because the white star snatched its heart and gave it away.
However, he was here, alive. Basically a newly hatched reptile egg who can't walk a long distance. A few hours then he had realized why the dragon half-blood was crying and apologizing. Because the brother he was saying that he killed was actually the red dragon's twin inside the egg.
Blain could have sworn he didn't like that.
Being burned alive and now drowning? That was an unacceptable end as he fought his way out of the sinking bag. His pride will not let him rest in the arms of death with just a few hours being alive! He needed to outlive this one and kill Redika himself.
That bastard!
The hatchling struggled to find his way out of the sack while his breath being taken away as seconds came by. His lungs almost giving out but his instinct to live was just as desperate to outrun this fate, until he was able get out, small red paws showed into his vision before everything darkened.
Well... fuck--
.
Yuh yuh yuh.
Some keypoints if the chapter is a bit of a mess.
○So basically another makeshift earth 4 where the world is so advance with industrial and mechanical structures. They reached a point where they built space ships and some lives outer space and other planets because the earth became stuffy and unbearable to live in, the agricultural lives had become so rare that only one city survived the big change.
○Blain is a scientist and an inventor. While he was inventing war materials for his country, his original goal was researching the processes of reviving greenery and clean waters.
○He died before he could even finish his research because someone bombed him with the same bomb he invented as contribution to his country. Sadly.
○Most people who died in his world, either died of contamination, aircraft crashes, gunshot or explosions. It's rare to see someone die of old age.
○His friend is named Luthen Barrow. Because we need a clear purpose how he got there just like Cale's. 😅😅😅
Guess that's all!
Bye~
Chapter 3: The Red Dragon 02
Chapter Text
"Why does this apple doesn't look like an apple?"
Waking up, the first words that Blain heard was about apples. He felt weak, groggy and his eyes were a little stingy. Well... did he die and reborn into a freshly picked apple now?
He didn't know.
"Hmm? You really look like an apple." The man spoke again while the young man felt himself being lifted and is now facing sea blue reptilian eyes and hair in his wake.
"...?"
Blain tilted his head in confusion. Watching the handsome man in front of him.
"Listen well, little apple. Dragons don't take in another dragons unless they belonged to them, so you should be thankful I hadn't killed you until now." The bluenette told him with a smug, proud look on his innocent looking face.
Blue hair and eyes reminded him of how he imagined the whale tribe and this innocently handsome look annoyed him to the core since what came of that mouth was garbage.
Blain stared at him with a deadpanned look before roaming his eyes to the current surrounding as he ignored the blue guy's remarks.
The sight of shimmering gold and river glowed in every corner.
Good amount of gold almost abundant was lavishly placed in every nooks and cranny of the place becoming a mountain of gold none could even imagine that would exist in real life. The flowing water was avoiding the mountainous golds as well, glittering like it had gems .
A treasure trove in some fairy tales and it proves quite right. Even Eruhaben has a golden cave so why not the others?
"I see, you're only a day old." The man spoke again. "Someone threw you into my river so I thought you're an apple being offered." He thoughtfully spoke.
The little dragon squirmed from his hold. At least Blain wanted to get out of this humiliation and find a place to hide. He could steal some of his golds if needed before running off.
"Stop moving." The man demanded.
He did. Considering that he didn't know if this dragon has a tendency to hurt an infant or not lies to Blain's obedience. So to say, he was merely playing safe.
"Haaa...."
The blue haired male sighed. His face in obvious distress as he placed the small dragon down to a small golden table where it reached his knee. He sat on the ground, leaning forwards as he placed a hand on his chin while the other poked the red dragon's cheek.
"Little apple, there are things other dragons should not do unless they wish to challenge other's authority. But I will forgive your impudence as you are a mere sapling. And with the gracious of my heart, I will keep you so you should be grateful."
The proud bastard...
You sound like you're asking a baby to stay because you're old and alone.
Blain thought while watching the smile drawn on the older's fair face.
"This one thousand year old expert great dragon will make you the best as I. Well, you might not be able to keep up so you're probably lower than the expected standards." He announced. "But of course, my apple guest, let's take you to rest." He took the small dragon in his hands again, carrying it as they walked further into the cave.
One thousand year old? Blain realized that Eruhaben wasn't the only ancient Dragon alive right now. But since this guy wasn't in the book at all, he's probably another unnamed extra as well.
Without realizing, the small dragon had curled comfortably in the older's arms and fell asleep. It had been a tiring transition for him this passed twenty four hours.
He died in the fire, reborn, nearly drowned and met an ancient dragon. His brain was in a momentary shock that his one day old self could not handle. Mental fatigue made him so drowsy he forgot he was being carried at all.
Light sea blue eyes looked down to the small red creature he dubbed as a little apple that curled in his arms. It was small with its soft bones and fragile features that he could easily crush with one hand.
Reaching an ancient door made of rock. The inscriptions were of unidentified ancient language.
Blue eyes glowed at the letters. Parting his mouth and spoke almost gibberish. But his words felt like a password, making the cave slightly shook, the door slowly opening to reveal another room almost different than a cave that it was.
It was an extravagant wide room. In the middle was a king sized bed highlighted with golden sides. The cushion looked thick and soft, covered in white, gold and crimson sheets making it look almost regal. The surrounding area was also decorated simple yet elegant. It was a bright room, so to say. Only consisted much of gold, white and crimson. The floor looked like glass by how shiny and transparent it looked.
But if an appraiser would take a look, he'd probably faint or die from shock because it was made out of pure diamonds.
The bluenette laid the small dragon on the bed while he sat on the sight. Staring at the small creature once again with a blank look before standing up and leaving.
Euclidean (yes Euclidean. Without the geometry attached) had been isolated in the world for seven hundred years.
300 years were his life ridiculing the beings of earth before getting bored and left the fear filled creatures he always enjoyed to watch whenever his mighty self flies around the skies of the continents shading the sunny days into his nightmarish shadow.
He fought other dragons who are probably dead by now if you ask him. They are all weaklings whether old or young.
However, one particular dragon stood out among his rivals. It was a golden dragon who was oddly nice to other dragons and was as young-- old as him by now.
Eruhaben. That golden hag who kept telling him to stop provoking the world or he'll regret it. The blue dragon, who knew his strength, ignored his warning and continued his entertainment.
Euclidean is a sadistic dragon. He takes pleasure from pain of others and he doesn't particularly pity anyone during his prime in the past 300 years of living. So when he got bored of his hobby, he lived in isolation under a cave built in ancient ruins.
Then a story came about that Euclid was in a slumber. But once he wakes, he's going to cause wreck into the village or the entire country for that fact.
So when that rumors came to haunt the kingdom of Dorma, they came once every three months to offer him harvest goods until it became a tradition known around the world.
Some others tried to conquer and defeat Euclidean, saying that after they have slain the viscious dragon, they'll become a hero.
"Hero my ass." Came Euclidean's bored reply before sending the intruder's corpse out into the river connecting the cave.
He didn't kill them... to be honest. His dragon fear was just too strong for humans it have them heart attack or died in fear without him particularly doing anything.
The people who got out and survived were people with abilities. Creatures who had enough decent strength to run for their lives at least.
And the conquest of slaying him happened for centuries, he decided to just put magical traps on every entrance of his house so that those who are strong enough could come in.
Seven hundred years later until now, no one dared come.
So this is how Euclidean continued his life until he saw that small apple.
He had been isolated for so long he forgot a life existed. He felt his blood rushed from excitement as he felt its beating heart almost as if a very special limited edition toy had come his way with a very big discount attached to it.
Though it was still weak so he didn't dare drop it or its soft bones might break like a melon.
As soon as the little dragon opened his eyes, emerald green reptilian eyes met his blue ones.
A baby who is not afraid of his dragon fear. And the only one who managed to pass through his fortress because he was masked like an offering.
That was a cute way of infiltration almost entertaining him the moment he thought about it.
Too bad, he can't crush it right away because it won't fight back. So why not just take him, take care of him and let him do the some hardwork once he lift the magical traps and let him fight the hero wanabes while he relax and watch him.
It was quite a good idea!
Happy with his thoughts, he smiled in a sinister way. His sadistic tendencies once again being resurrected after centuries of boredom.
How he never thought he'd feel this way just for an unexpected guest that appeared before him. His eyes sparkled in amusement as he think about the future years from now.
It seems like it's going to be a comeback of a once long retired sadistic ancient dragon in this weak sad world.
And probably one of Blain's worst nightmare.
Chapter 4: The Red Dragon 03
Chapter Text
"My, my, what should I get you?"
Euclidean chimed with excitement, holding in his arms a child with red hair and green eyes. The pale child with the elegant blue haired dragon looked so delicate yet beautiful that made this duo very noticeable and eye catching.
The entire time, the now three month old Blain had a deadpanned expression. Feeling ridiculous at the moment while being carried by this certain someone.
He couldn't help it!
The blue dragon, who had not came out of his lair for seven hundred years is now strolling around the square of Dorma kingdom, shopping for baby stuffs you wouldn't expect he would buy.
Since he was still so weak, the older dragon spent three months nursing him in the worse methods possible.
From the first succeeding days, he tried to carry him by lifting his paw and letting him hang up side-down with an amused laugh.
"You look like a frog, haha!"
Goes his annoying insult.
The next month, he thought it was fine to feed him solids which did not go well too.
"Since you're an apple, you might like some apples!"
The fact that Blain's baby dragon form still didn't have teeth to chew managed to choke on the apple. Euclidean, grabbing both his hind foot again and hang him around for him to throw up the entire apple.
For the young former scientist and inventor who has his mind intact, this is going to be a traumatic experience once he sees apples ever again.
Yes, Blain has accumulated a phobia for apples.
Still thinking about choking because of apples takes what remains of his life that's been in the risk of being taken away in too many way ways than one with Euclidean's care didn't make this situation easy.
"A lot of things have changed, huh? When I first came here, this is nothing but empty plains. But now, look at the humans moving around like ants everywhere." He spoke.
It was then that Blain had realized something he was not expecting. He blinked twice in hopes his three months old self had witnessed reality and not hallucinations.
Beyond the city streets were an abundant sea of mountains and blue skies. Within the mountains were trees and grass. So much he couldn't believe it.
He didn't see it at first since it's in Euclidean's lazy ass to just teleport them to the city gates. But as he looked up, he was amazed to what's beyond him.
His goal. His unfinished business in his world was here. So vast and everywhere he couldn't help but stare.
"Ho~ it's little apple's first time seeing the outside?"
He did not hear Euclidean's comment as he was busy admiring the trees he hardly saw during his twenty four years of life.
For him, this was revolutionary. But for this world, it looked rather insignificant and normal.
"Well, little apple. The first thing you should know, is that dragons are one with nature." The blue dragon explained. "We are so powerful we are second to gods."
That's cool. But can we go there? I want to sniff some grass!
Blain's inner thoughts exclaimed with excitement. Euclidean frowned at him, seeing that if he was in his mini apple form, his little wings and tail would be fluttering.
His small hands held tighter on the older's cloak but with its weak palms it wasn't able to crumple the cloth.
"...hmmm..."
The bluenette followed his eyes and to his fascination, the boy was neither looking at anything interesting in the market but the forest beyond.
"We'll trail the forest later. But for now, you need some things."
Euclidean explained as he continued to walk from stores to stores. Putting each shopped item in his convenient spatial bag.
With that, Blain had patiently submitted himself to what felt like eternal and neverending restocking of essentials and whatnot.
It seemed that the blue dragon who had kept alone to himself was so happy he'll throw in golds like its nothing--which is in fact true. Considering he had mountains of those shiny things and a diamond for a floor. It would be odd if he doesn't spend them.
But to Blain's dissatisfaction, the center of those expenditures was for Blain's things... for his baby self to be more accurate.
Euclidean, the sadistic dragon had overcome that hobby and has now turned very materialistic.
"It's very odd little apple. I didn't know I could get a lot of things with just ten gold. I haven't even spent everything in my spatial bag yet." He said in utter amazement. In fact, it was the blue ancient dragon's first time doing such trades with humans.
Their way of living was used for his advantage because even without much efforts, his gold would actually last a millennium more years depending if it adds up but that actually didn't matter to him.
He was a mighty dragon just being merciful to humans so he decided to play by their rules of using currency.
The shopping went for hours.
The exhausted Blain who was very energized to see the forest has now fallen asleep because of the unending necessities so Euclidean didn't have a choice but to let them rest in an inn. The most luxurious he could find, of course.
"Guess, I'll reward you for being behave today, little apple." He muttered, stroking the small baby head the morphed back into a dragon form.
The redhead baby sat still with all his might. Big bright eyes blinked twice as he looked front to see nothing but greens.
Oh, this is probably the best day of his twenty four years plus three months of lives put together.
To think that he was in a world even before two millenniums passed. It's even better!
The baby sat on the cushion of the grass. The vast field of greenery amazed him to no end that he wanted to cry. Well he did... mentally, of course.
Back into his mini dragon form, Blain began to crawl into the grass and smelled it. The refreshing scent gave him mixed feeling about the world while happily moving around the grass that was nearly covering his small baby dragon body.
There were flowers he's never seen, trees he's never touched, specie of moss he was never able to find. All of which were found in this beautiful place.
He like this place now. If this is a dream, don't wake him up. Even if he turns into a snail, he'll still agree wholeheartedly as long as this is what he will see.
Euclidean was following not far from behind the baby dragon who seemed fascinated with trees. Arms crossed to his chest, he hummed at the baby dragon in front of him.
"Look at you, moving around like a giant earthworm, little apple. You don't have to be so eager to see these things because if you kept attaching yourself to it, you'll get bored eventually." The blue dragon told him.
Blain stopped to looked at the older behind him. Bored? Who will get bored? He, who studied the plant revival in that populated and polluted world for more than a decade will get bored?
No. He definitely won't!
But the odd look in the blue dragon's face was quite convincing him that he should just do what he says. He did lived for a thousand years despite isolating himself from the seven centuries of remainder... three hundred years of being active is still not a joke.
"Guess I'll teach you the basic when you turn one." He sighed, coming down to him and picked him up.
Blain wanted to protest but decided that he'll see that more often when he gets older.
"It's about time we have fun in this world, isn't that right?"
Smiling in a carefree manner, Blain tilted his head as he looked at the older Blue. His smile, something Blain could come to as something scheming as you may call it.
Or in terms of this novel, something similar to Cale's smile when he's about to scam people.
For the red dragon to see it in this scenario, brought goosebumps in his little body. Whatever this dragon was planning bout, it'll probably be chaotic.
"So, what position should we aim for? A baron, count, marquis or a duke?" He hummed. Then his eyes trailed to the land of Dorma Kingdom. "How about a king? Sounds nice?" He asked as if choosing between two of his favorite color.
At that moment, Blain felt like his blood ran cold and his brain stopped working as though something had clogged the screws of his cogs the made it unable to move. He looked as if he became a statue in Euclidean's warm arms slowly accumulating cracks the more he realized that this crazed dragon was not joking at all!
"Then a king." He said again.
And right about now, Blain felt like he turned into dust.
Where the hell did you see a dragon becoming a king?! The kingdom will be destroyed!
But of course. Euclidean was still a man--a dragon who has sadistic tendencies. He who did not care about human life wants to take the position of a king despite the responsibilities it gives that goes with human welfare.
The overwhelming thoughts of trouble and fear the blue dragon had instilled in Blain's poor life took a toll and now had caused the baby to faint.
The crazy dragon, will really be the death of him.
Meanwhile, watching the baby dragon curled into his arms again, Euclidean hummed an amused tone. He poked the baby dragon's round cheek making it curl even more.
"Seems like the apple's tired from running around." He said, not realizing how he had scared the life out of that boy that caused him to pass out. "What to do~" he muttered walking through the woods while thinking.
.
Yeh yeh yu. Blain is earning stress at an early age and Euclidean is thinking of becoming a noble or a king out of boredom.
So anyways~
Bye~
Chapter 5: The Red Dragon 04
Chapter Text
The next morning, Blain woke up as normal. Euclidean was reading an ancient book as usual on the coffee table beside the open window before turning his head when he noticed the little apple waking up. The sun rays entering the room making the bluenette's smiling image turn even more holy despite his attitude, being not.
Knowing that he can never be a saint, Blain deadpanned at this unfair imagery before him.
They were still in some upper class inn due to the blue dragon's interest with human's economic progress. Seeing as he had no news about this for seven centuries, it seemed that he became interested to relearn the outside world.
Relearn... as in to find out if they still fear him so he could scare them again.
"I see, you're awake, little apple." Euclidean said pleased.
He closed his book and with a snap of his finger, the book disappeared in his spatial dimension. After that, he stood up and carried him. As soon as he did, Blain's dragon form morphed into a baby boy with red hair and green bright eyes. It's head tilted in a questioning manner while staring at Euclidean with wonder.
"We're going to conquer Dorma." He smiled so innocently making the morning light from the window highlight his innocent facade even more. His calm soothing voice rang into Blain with realization like a poisoned arrow hitting his head that he choked on air.
Conquer what?!
This kingdom?!
Why would this crazy man do such a thing?! He's a dragon! A dragon!
Blain's mind was getting chaotic. Why? Why would he want to conquer Dorma?
"You look like you're constipated. Did you eat solids while I'm looking away?" Goes the dragon's clueless question.
Blain wanted to bury himself in some graveyard. Just what is going through this dragon's mind? Has he gone insane the passed thousand years?
"Since I'm going to name you soon, shouldn't it be fitting that I'll name you accordingly." He explained.
Blain looked up at him again. Does naming me have something to do with conquering Dorma? Is he going to name me Dorma?
He felt his pulse began to thump wildly. Blain didn't mind whatever name Euclidean would think of. But why is he associating Blain's soon-to-be name with conquering Dorma?
He felt goosebumps.
"Raziel Rory."
Blain stopped his agitated thoughts as though it had automatically shut down from Euclidean's words. Emerald eyes stared at the sparkling blue like he was looking at a magical lake.
"I found them in an ancient book." He said with a proud smile. He raised up one finger up. "Raziel means an angel of mystery, a keeper of secret. Since you, little apple, appeared into my lair with so much questions unanswered, I must also name you fittingly." He started to explain. "While Rory, is the reason why we have to conquer Dorma." He said with a smile.
Blain remained staring at him unsatisfied... well Raziel doesn't sound so bad. But the Rory part is making him feel afraid. That still didn't answer why they-- he had to get a kingdom.
Euclidean's eyes brightened at the child's questioning demeanor. "Look at you, curious little apple. So I'll tell you..." he trailed. "Red king."
At that moment, Blain--now Raziel, fainted.
.
.
.
Raziel woke up from the warmth of the sunlight through his windows. But the cozy, soft cushion of his bed made him thought back to Euclidean's room at the same time, the scent he picked up is not familiar as well making the young dragon fully awake from the smell, not belonging to his guardian.
Standing up as soon as realization hits, the boy alerted his gaze around the room. It was a big room and not a cave. Aside from the white and gold colors he was used to, crimson curtains were added to the design as well as the bedding and the carpet floor.
Everything around him was majestic, extravagant and obviously costly.
Is this another dragon lair?
Raziel wanted to ask anybody. For god's sake, he just fainted, but he's suddenly in a place like this? Is this some kind of nightmare?
It's making him nervous just thinking about this. And a hunch that where he is now has something to do with that blue scheming dragon, of course.
--Little apple, finally.
A telepathy spoke in his head. The baby dragon looked around from the side where the wide windows aligned was another balcony until he finally see the a beautiful blue. It was standing the, blending with the color of the sky behind him.
Euclidean turned around with a princely smile. His beauty that hard to be rivaled not just by anyone. For an unknown character in the novel, he sure should get this much of screentime.
"You are now officially Crown prince Raziel Rory Acheros. Congratulations little apple."
He stared at him, the bluenette stared back with a very kind smile it almost scared him what he's planning after conquering Dorma now.
"Do you want to see the corrupt king's execution?" He asked so casually like he's asking him if he's eaten yet.
Ah indeed, he is not joking. Once again, the red dragon fainted just when he woke up...
.
.
.
It was almost too shocking how Euclidean's appearance in Dorma became prosperous than how he had anticipated it to be. In fact, they love and respect him as their new ruler. Opposite to what the red dragon had first thought to be a disaster.
The drought in the eastern areas was resolved by the great dragon's mighty magic and soon the magicians continued the job to resupply an artificial rain once the sign of drought comes.
Everyone thinks that Euclidean was a godsend magician. In fact, no one knew that he is a dragon aside from the few elves and dark elves who lived close by the premise... that obviously, either feared or idolized his very existence like he's a god.
Overthrowing a king was an easy task for him. Especially when the king had a lot of weaknesses he could exploit. His greed was one of them.
So without too much bloodshed aside from the king's and his accomplices, public execution was granted for everyone to see the intolerable scums and cheered as their heads came rolling in the dusty ground.
The day after, Euclidean was crowned king and his now self-proclaimed son, Raziel, who was only three month old that time, automatically got the position of the crown prince.
And as promised when he was one year old, the boy began learning magic from Euclidean yet his sadistic nature did not escape him. He got to live for himself for three months inside a maze-like forest. The agonizing mist had him lost for almost everytime had he not placed any marks to guide himself.
At the age of two, Euclidean heartlessly sent him off to another hell hole and had him survive in the middle of bandits, criminals and insane living beings. It was a good thing the previous Raziel who was Blain had gotten used to. In the first place, he lived in a war almost all his life.
Because of that, at the age of three, he had his first growth phase. The red dragon who managed to defeat his older self awakened an attribute(that will be tackled later on).
The proud Euclidean finally stopped pushing him one feet on the ground. Instead, told him to take it easy for a while since he's basically stronger than the puny ones.
So here he is, staring at the garden continuously every tea time that he can. That had been going for two consecutive years but he never got sick of it. It became his hobby now of all things.
There were not many guards surrounding his palace. All of which were scattered in every part of the country to protect every towns, villages and borders. There are royal guards gathered in the palace as well but all of which are elites enough to at least not die that easily when fighting if their king, Euclidean, is lazy to kill ssomeintruder on his own.
Besides, there are two dragons living in the castle walls Dorma namely Euclidean and Raziel himself. It is almost untouchable no matter who comes.
Five years had passed being every year as an eventful moment for Blain-- now named Raziel.
The small dragon, now dubbed as the crown prince of Dorma let out a short sigh while he leaned his chin on the coffee table outside his palace.
Everything was too peaceful. Euclidean was just as bored as him because no one was afraid of his beautiful existence considering that not many people come to the palace in contact with his dragon fear to squirm and tremble before him.
Things like that only happen once in a while. Probably thrice a week or if luck is in Euclidean's side, at least five. All of which were nobles who were left in this kingdom after barely surviving execution because they're quite decent to work with.
"I see, you're here again, little apple." Raziel's head perked up as soon as the angel faced devil spawn had called him.
Green eyes meeting blue ones. The typical kind smile on Euclidean's face welcomed the boy until the man who is now his adoptive father sat on the table across him.
"Good morning, your ma--" he stopped when the older closed his eyes still with a smile on his lips and hummed his tone having threatening ìmpact to him as his dragon fear intensified. Raziel inhaled deep, cleared his throat and spoke his greetings once more with a small blush on his cheek with embarrassment. "Good morning, Papa."
Explain why you want me to call you that again? Shouldn't I be calling you bluey gramps instead? The boy sulked while hiding half his face on the table side glancing at his father's pleased smile. He sighed in relief. Safe.
Euclidean definitely had a lot of time in his hands. Literally.
He has an aide who does all his work for him and will never would his aide complain. In fact, he will even beg the blue king to step on him.
Why?
Because he is an elf. And elves look up to dragons like they're gods. They could easily recognize one because most of them have elementals and there's only two things they're feel towards a dragon, either fearing or idolizing them.
As they are not mortally materialistic nor greedy creatures, Euclidean chose some of them to learn and do his paper works.
Scammed and overworked, the elves felt nothing but gratitude for him even if he doesn't pay them. As the elves say, just a look in Euclidean and Raziel, they are paid and honored enough for such service.
A practical dragon this guy is. And in all honesty, Raziel is learning quite a lot from him.
The two opposing colors of hairs were quiet for a while. Enjoying the scenery of the gardens while the wind sweeping their soft locks. Their shines brighter than anything in this world.
"P-papa..." he called the older still as shy at how he'd address him.
"Yes, little apple?" Euclidean was quick to respond almost making the child jolt. Honestly, why bother giving Blain a new name if he'll still call him little apple indefinitely?
He muster up what humility he could muster up before looking up at the beautiful creature he calls 'papa' now as insisted by the bluenette with confidence.
"I'm going to Roan." He said.
It's been five years and there's yet any news about the black egg nor Cale Henituse becoming a young master silver shield--is he even born yet? As he was not much informed about the neighboring countries around them, he needed to check it himself if Raon is already hatched or not.
"Why?" Euclidean asked him. His tone rather in disapproval but he was masking it with boredom.
"Research." This was one of Raziel's past time. Researching ancient books, landscapes and species given his previous life.
"Alright." The blue dragon shrugged.
Raziel had at least proven himself a survivor after all and Euclidean would be a hypocrite if he stops him now considering that he threw a two year old in the worst part of the world back then. Besides, giving him an opportunity in the field once in a while is pretty much a good thing for the boy in Euclidean's point of view. After all, his son is a dragon who surpassed first phase already. What could possibly hold him back?
The boy beamed an innocent bright smile, showcasing his pearly whites and an expression almost as similar to Euclidean's if only they had the same haire color.
The older smiled back and reached for his head to give him a short pat. It seems like the little apple he picked up is trying to be independent on his own in such a short time.
"Take things slow, little apple. You have a lot of time." Euclidean advised him.
Raziel gave a short nod as he leaped his short legs down the chair and run around towards the other side of the table where the king dragon sat. Automatically, he reached the boy from where he stood and carried him to sit on his lap and recieved more headpats.
This was definitely one of the things Raziel liked about the sadistic older dragon. Despite being cruel and bored, he still recieved consideration and trust from him.
Euclidean was not protective of him in terms of travels and researches because they are dragons. That reason is enough to put him at ease. But when it comes to the people around this little red, it's probably a different issue.
"If you find a potential friend..." the blue haired king raised one finger, discontinuing his phrase as he looked at Raziel with a look.
Raziel sighed. "...Tell them that I am a criminal with ten million gold bounty and see if they will give you up." He recited the continuation.
"If they betrayed you..." Euclidean raised both point and middle finger to indicate the second rule.
"...Release my dragon fear to the extent that his mouth foams in extreme fear." He continued again.
"If someone hurt you..." he raised his ring finger as an additional third rule.
"...Beat them up until they beg me to kill them."
"If you can't beat them..." he raised a pinky.
"...Open a teleportation portal and call papa."
"If someone asks for marriage..." he raised his thumb.
"...reject them."
"Hmm?" Euclidean frowned.
"...uh... let them marry their own grave."
The blue dragon smiled. "Very good. Remember the words, little apple. You may be strong, but you are young and gullible. Some unknown person might scam you if you don't keep your guard up."
The boy nodded.
"Speaking of which, I recently found a spy crawling in the sewer. We can use him as our lab rat later on."
Raziel agreed with an innocent smile bit sinister thoughts. He did need a lab rat later on.
.
And so we end the chapter here!
Did a five year time skip and still actually gonna do two more since nothing important will happen aside from Blain/Raziel and Euclidean interaction.
So yeah...
To be continued...
Chapter 6: The Red Dragon 05
Chapter Text
Before entering Roan, Dorma had given a letter of formality to the king informing of his son coming to the said kingdom.
Do note that this was not Euclidean's idea because he never cared for formalities. It was only because of his elf aide's suggestion that a letter was sent.
Since Dorma had a new king, neighboring kingdoms would have been wary of them coming to their land unannounced. It was a good move that they sent a letter for a visit. Both curiosity and doubt lingered thinking what could have been the reason of this unexpected exchange only to know that the crown prince of Dorma himself wished to come. Was it because they are planning to spy on Roan? Well, he didn't know.
But according to the envoy elf who represented Dorma, their crown prince is only five which made this situation a bit weird.
Why would they just casually let their crown prince go like that? Did they think that Roan kingdom would agree easily and baby that brat's desires? And what if the prince dies here?
Zed Crossman, the current king of Roan kingdom, wondered what could have been the hidden intention behind this yet agreed nonetheless considering that it might be a good thing to make alliance to this kingdom.
"Then allow me to set coordinates in this castle." The elf spoke formally. Despite looking down on humans, they definitely are one of the creatures upholding beauty and odd elegance.
"Alright. I hope you will follow the terms in agreement." Zed responded and left for his piled up paperworks leaving the young crown prince Alberu Crossman to wait for the coming storm(Raziel).
Sending the message through communication device, a portal automatically opened right in front of them in the same day.
Alberu Crossman, the crown prince of Roan kingdom placed both hands behind him as he looked front. His blue eyes stared straight, expression suppressed and remained wary of the person coming. He awaited the people who might pass through the portal circle device in front of them. Its been a few seconds but no one still came out.
The blonde thirteen year old prince noted that the new king was said to be a great magician. Which meant that his son, the crown prince of the neighboring country has a high possibility to be a magician like his father. But since he's only five, he was not expecting anything amazing at all.
He wondered if the prince of Dorma was having a tantrum that's why it's been taking too long. The portal in front of them looked like a shallow but milky water. It was pure white that one couldn't actually see what's beyond it so all that's left for them to do was patiently wait there, expecting something or that someone to come out.
The elf who represented Dorma remained quiet. He did not care at all if they ever offended Roan as they made them wait but his eyes were also full of anticipation and undeniable admiration that it was obviously sparkling which didn't make sense at all. Why would an elf feel such way towards a prince? Since when did elven have such sight for humans?
Waiting a few minutes more, a small feet finally came out of the circle. Everyone prepared to welcome the guest until finally, hair as red as fire and wide and bright green reptilian eyes that reflected an emerald jewel appeared in front of them.
Everyone awed the beautiful child as he finally showed himself. "Hello. I am I am Dorma's crown prince Raziel Rory Acheros." He placed a hand on his chest and made a cute yet elegant bow. "It's an honor to see your prosperous kingdom with my very eyes."
"You flatter us, your highness. I should be the one honored to finally meet the famous crown prince of Dorma. Praises of you had been going on around the continent, but those words could not compare as I look at the prince Raziel in person." Alberu replied.
Blain blinked twice as he looked at the crown prince in his early teens. It seems like he's developed his glib tongue at a young age that's why he's good at it.
Oh, well.
The redhead smiled at him innocently. So innocent it held nothing but bright shining angelic light behind him. He may not have learned the power of smooth praises, but he did learned the innocent face behind the devil smile from yours truly Euclidean. It's not very hard since all that needs to be done is have an innocent face and smile even if you're plotting something else.
Once again, the people were in awe of this child's smile. Blushing and touched by the sight of his mysterious but kind and heart melting smile.
The whispers of him being a young saint and an angel could be heard around. Blain started feeling uncomfortable and while it is indeed a normal reaction, their elven envoy was clearly over reacting.
Tears in their beautiful eyes, the elves had already knelt in front of him as if a god just descended from heaven. "Just the sight of the crown prince Raziel is a gift from the gods." They cried.
Raziel smiled still despite the short twitch that nearly put his smile to an end. "Since you've done your job, do get back to Dorma. Papa will be delighted if you worshipped him like that." He stepped aside and motioned his hand to the open portal.
"If that's your wish, we will follow your greatness." The bowed respectfully and went through the portal until no one were left.
"Your highness?" Alberu called.
"Please, your highness. I'd be happy if you call me by my name." The boy stepped closer to him reaching out his hand for a shake.
Alberu looked at his hand before giving a small kind smile and reached out for their courtesy. "Then please, address me as Alberu as well, Raziel-nim."
"Okay!" He beamed. His smile brightening up the already bright room. The beautiful child looked around the before his eyes turned to the closing portal. None but only him was left which make it more baffling.
"Raziel-nim." Alberu started. "Where are your guards?" He asked.
The little boy tilted his head. Giving a silly smile. "Do I need to have some?" Indeed, they'll only slow him down if they came with them.
"Raziel-nim, you are very young. You're going to need someone to protect you." He explained.
Oh please~ Blain wanted to scoff but kept the smile nonetheless. "I'm fine." He replied.
"Please come in, your highness, it's hot out here." He offered, the boy nodded as they went in.
However, Raziel stared at the hand he shook earlier. Looking at it as it seemed that Alberu forgot to let it go, holding his hand while guiding him through the entrance.
But seeing nothing threatening about it, the redhead shrugged the thought and let him. The bright and extravagant interior welcomed him from the grand hall. The marbled floor shone like clear waters that it could even mirror the ceiling's golden chandelier. The pillar was also made of white marbles embedded with melted gold as its lining highlights. The windows were wide and open while the white curtains were clipped on both sides, tied into a rose-like pattern. In the middle was the typical red carpet aligned towards the twin staircase going to the second floor.
The boy with green eyes looked around. Admiring it yet felt a bit proud that Euclidean's cave looked even better than this. Although they lived in a castle now, he still couldn't help but remember how rich his 'dad' was.
The two were quiet for a while. Two guards were following them behind and only the clapping of their heels on the floor could be heard.
"Raziel-nim, the elves seems to respect you." Alberu started. Although the prince couldn't fathom why, he sensed something about this young boy.
"Oh, you mean the elven envoys." The boy hummed.
"Yes. I heard that elves are creatures who respect no one in particular, except for dragons, nature or the world tree." The boy explained, already sensing the peculiarity of Blain's situation.
"Pa-- his majesty, saved their forest. So they are indebted to the royal family." He explained, half lying with confidence and masking the lie with an angelic smile. Even at this age, Alberu is a wary person, huh? "My father is a very strong mage."
"Is that so? They respect him so much to even become an envoy to the kingdom of Dorma?"
"Yes. Because they're very thankful." Raziel smoothly answered.
"It seems so, indeed."
"How long are we going to walk?"
Alberu stopped making Raziel follow. The crown prince turned around and observed the five year old. "Are you, perhaps tired?" He asked.
The boy just nodded. Not that he's actually tired, but ever since they've gone on walks, Euclidean had a accumulated a hobby of carrying him around like he was a pet dog. So he's became lazy on short walks.
"If his highness don't mind, I shall carry you." One of the guards--who have been captivated by his looks-- volunteered.
Raziel's eyes lit up as soon as the offer came. His reptilian green eyes shined like he's been offered a generous amount of candy with eyes of anticipation written in his face.
"I permit."
The guards couldn't help but bite their lips and looked at the child softly as if their hearts are melting. "Then, pardon me your highness--"
Before they could even come close, Alberu, who was the closest managed to lift him by the armpit and placed him comfortably to his side while Raziel turned to him seemingly stunned.
"It's fine, I got this." Alberu spoke.
Treating a royal from another country is an important attitude for Alberu to make connections from who to trust and not. If treating Raziel properly will give him a liberty of allegiance towards the rising country of Dorma, then he'd have to test the waters first. If the green eyed redhead will see him as someone he could rely on then this relationship will go on a long run.
All along, the plan was to win the child over to his side and use his connection and position the best way possible.
At least that's how Alberu thought that it should be.
Raziel is a cute child as well, it's not bad to be fond of him just a little... right? Alberu turned to the child who was looking at him with wide wondering eyes. The blonde prince smiled at him, a magnanimous smile yet behind was a plotting prince.
Understanding Alberu's intention quickly sunk into Raziel.
So that's how it is...
The boy thought before returning it with one of that innocent smile of his.
Guess I'll have to play along and see what you're up to.
He clung his arms into the blonde's neck and leaned into his shoulder. "You carry me like my father." He said sending out one of his most precious giggle.
"It's an honor to hear that, Raziel-nim." Alberu replied softly as they trailed the long hallway. Following behind were two sulking guards who is unable to carry the cute green eyed prince.
Anyway, that's all, bye~
Chapter Text
In the span of three days, Raziel's existence in Roan became the talk of the town.
The boy, who stole the heart of the palace began to spread out wide in the capital. Skyrocketing from other neighbouring cities that made them curious of such person to be looked up on.
"He was an angel-- no, a child of a God. I heard even his father looked like one!"
"His smile was so bright I thought the sun came down!"
"He was really polite. You would even think that he's a saint."
"I always walk by the east wing just to take a glance at him."
"He praised the gardener a lot because he said that the flowers were amazing. I wish I was the gardener he's praising."
Blain took a sip on his milk while sitting in the garden's coffee table. He had a book in hand about Roan's discovered herbs around the country.
He was done reading hours ago, actually. He just stayed to listen if rumors about him is good or bad. But regardless whether it is either of it he could tell that the commentaries are positively to his side.
Smiling in self-satisfaction, the redhead prince drank all his milk before he leaped himself down the ground. The guards that Alberu provided for him, followed suit his small steps while enjoying the calm morning in the palace.
He'll need to leave the palace soon. The border to count Henituse's land is a bit far as well so it's going to be a long journey. But with all these guards, it's going to be equally hard to escape without making a fuss.
He skipped steps through the rose-made isles of the gardens as if he naturally owned it. His smile as fresh as the morning dew that none could ever question his evil schemes-- unless there are.
"Good morning, Raziel." Upon the familair greeting, said boy turned around to see the familiar blonde who's been accommodating his stay in the palace. The teenaged Alberu took long strides towards the five year old, smiling like a ray of sunshine.
Raziel didn't back down and offered him the signature smile he learned from Euclidean respectively. "Good morning Al!" The boy beamed and waved until the blonde prince managed to pick him up from his armpit and carried him up for no apparent reason, fixing the boy's thighs on the side of his waist.
The two managed to get comfortable with each other like normal friends. Alberu at first thought that the idea was going to be hard considering Raziel's age. But he didn't thought that the child has a feat of intelligence of his own that their conversation became naturally. If anything, the blonde prince was thankful that the child was a social butterfly.
"Did you have fun?" He asked with a close eyed smile.
"The garden is pretty." At least this is one thing Blain could be honest about without faking his expression. He really loved the gardens and the forest. If anything, he'll trade his own attribute for a nature one but since what's done is done, he will just be appreciating it wholeheartedly.
"Yes, I heard you praised the gardener so much he nearly died of heart attack." Being overwhelmed by your cuteness and sweet praises, at least. Alberu chuckled, petting the boy's head who seemed to like the affection. "Raziel is very pretty." He praised.
Oh ho ho~ you've never seen my father.
"My papa is prettier." The redhead responded. "He's the most beautiful king in the world." He even made his arms spread wide to express the magnitude of Euclidean's beauty.
"And soon, you'll be."
"Don't be biased, Al. Once you see how pretty he is, you'll change your mind!" Blain proudly told him.
Well, that's not a lie. Euclidean was a beautiful creature. Maybe if you let him stand beside Eruhaben, their beauty will be so destructive that the world wouldn't be able to handle it anymore.
(Cause of world destruction: dragon's beauty.jpeg)
"I see. However, you are his son. Which made you no less of a beautiful person yourself." The young prince said.
Blain internally sighed. Alberu's glib tongue was activated since yesterday and the praises were getting a bit too much for his generous amount of patience to handle. But of course, he could not afford to offend Alberu Crossman. One of the main characters of this story.
"Al, I'm going to the northeast." The boy told him.
The blonde froze for a moment. His eyes darted towards the young innocent lad who was staring back at him.
"Why would you, Raziel?"
"I told my father that I'm going to do some research here." He explained.
"May I know what kind of research are you going to do?"
"Botany!" He happily answered. "You see, Al. I've been really fascinated with plants. And my hobby is discovering and searching for herbs."
"Plants, huh? But Raziel, you're a prince. If you go alone I don't think it's going to be safe."
"Oh."
"Also, didn't you know that there are monsters inhabiting the borders of southeast which is being held back by the Henituse County."
"The forest of darkness?" The young redhead tilted his head in question.
"Yes. So I don't think it's safe for you to go there."
Is he worried?
Blain stared for a moment before sighing. "I'm a mage." He admitted.
Alberu stared seriously at him. A frown placed into his brows while staring at the boy, measuring whether what he said is a lie or not.
"I'm a mage." He repeated, flicking his finger which had made his hand magically glow in a purple light and soon, thunder struck the concrete ground, making the prince and his guards flinch.
Everyone looked at the boy wide eyed while he kept his innocent smile and ticklish giggles.
"O-oh wow. I didn't know you'd be this talented, Raziel." Alberu praised.
"Because my papa is great and mighty!" He raised his fist with a proud bravado. Even if that blue dragon is a scheming one, he is a great dragon who's access to different types of magic are as vast as the sea. It's not bad flexing your adopted father once in a while after all.
The Roan crown prince smiled softly. Petting the young redhead. "Yes, yes, Raziel's father, his majesty is great." He hummed. "But in order for us to allow your travel, I must consult my father about this. If he permits you then you can go."
"Great." The boy beamed satisfied. "Is there a way we can go to the capital square?"
"Well, we could."
Raziel cheered and clutched the older prince's clothes, beaming at him with all the innocence of the world.
Raziel's first and last experience in town was during his three month old age. Considering that it was a baby that saw the entire ordeal, he already and almost forgot everything that occured. Only bits and pieces of information were the only ones that reminded him that once in his life, he got into a town.
Thinking about it now, it left him excited and looking forward to this trip as he wore his most comfortable commoner's clothing. A buttoned up and collared white long sleeve, black shorts, a pair of long white socks and black shoes.
A beautiful boy running around the streets and stalls with bright curious eyes.
He was pretty much an adventurous child than anything else while Alberu watched and followed him go. It was a bit nerve wracking considering how Raziel had been running around stall to stall that the crown prince thought he might lose him anytime if he would look somewhere else.
"Al, look!" Raziel had happily pointed towards the hanging plants on one stall. "These herbs can only be found in the forest of the east continent." The boy said.
He couldn't remove his focus on the child and made sure that he was as close as it could be.
After all, children this age are mostly a prey for kidnapping. And Raziel, being a beautiful child, makes things harder for him
As the two walked around in their commoner attire, Alberu couldn't help but think that they should probably have worn a disguise that would at least change their appearances.
As the eyes focussing on the redhead doubled, the more he worries that it might become worse than just stares later on.
"Al, look at this!" The boy pointed to a flower shop next. "It's a carnivorous plant!" He pointed to a green plant that looked like a clamp with open mouth.
Alberu could only nod with this young man's energy.
Their stroll took up too much time that day until the sunset had arrived. As much as Alberu questioned just how much energy can this small boy waste as he himself was feeling quite tired. Although that weariness wasn't bad since he himself had enjoyed the redhead's company.
But what caught him off to this day was the fact that Raziel was an intelligent boy. He knew many things that people don't usually teach children this age. He knew much of the kingdom's botany than he did, he had grasp on economical variables, he has a good eye on real and fake luxury and last but not least, he was actually cute and sociable he could easily steal hearts.
The young prince had never thought someone, a five year old at that, can do such a thing just within a day.
And when evening came, their escorts finally decided that it was time to go. Raziel's milk time was around eight in the evening after a bath. That way, he could fall asleep. A habit in which Euclidean had installed in his system eversince he lived with him.
To be honest, all that Euclidean applied was through trial and error. Some were advise given by noble fathers who's trying to suck up to the new king and some were advise from the elves and dark elves. So the way Raziel grew was a mixture of how creatures do parenting.
It was quite a surprise that he survived that deadly moments.
Riding back to the carriage, the two young royals sat.
While Alberu was relieved that it was over, Raziel was clearly disappointed that it had to end quickly. As someone who locked himself in research for the world restoration in his previous life, this outside world is the most ideal thing he could ever imagine.
The world that he dreamt of.
Now it came true.
"Raziel must be tired." Alberu spoke, breaking the long silence inside the small transport.
However, the young blonde recieved no reply. The moment he noticed, he saw that the young man was actually asleep. His head, leaning on the window with a peaceful gleam in his innocent face.
A helpless smile left the older as he transferred seat beside him, slowly and gently placed the young redhead's head to his lap. "Rest well." He muttered before letting his sleep devour him as well.
.
Anyways. Bye again~

Chapter 8: The Red Dragon 07
Chapter Text
After two weeks, Raziel decided that fun time in the capital of Roan was over.
With a parting hug from Alberu and a sweet smile and wave of goodbye, the young man finally rode a carriage out of the palace.
He had to check his little brother if he hatched with the excuse of doing research in the southeast. Although he did have an idea that Raon was not yet hatched since Alberu was still turning fourteen this year, he just wanted to be sure.
Maybe the book had some mistakes in them and Raon might actually be older or something. He could not remove the possibility of it being actually plausible considering that logic is not much of a trend here.
But if it did, what should he do?
The young man was quite conflicted. He looked out his carriage window, his green reptilian eyes glowed from the peeking sun light while he saw himself leaving the capital streets.
The carriage he was riding at wasn't an extravagant one nor was it eye catching. It was a normal wood and iron carriage that commoners rides from. It was dark brown in color with polished exterior that looked ordinary in the eye.
But the exterior screamed royalty everywhere. The cushion was so comfortable, he didn't feel that the road was bumpy at all.
The guards given to him are ones that are loyal to Alberu. Raziel could tell that they were dark elves considering the mana surrounding them and the dye magic used just like in Alberu's appearance.
The ride took well enough. Nothing hindered his way towards the first town they'll be stopping by as the guards rented an inn for him.
Raziel can tell the nervous racks the dark elves has become. They, who possesses an elemental knew that the little crown prince of Dorma was a dragon but could not disclose it to Alberu out of fear that they might enrage the young dragon.
So in order to protect the crown prince Alberu, they kept it a secret and took care of Raziel with utmost care. Afterall, it was actually also an honor to serve a dragon.
Raziel sighed as he peeked out the window. The night sky was clear and the breeze was cool. Everything was quiet except for the inn's tavern where the others drink and heartily laugh.
When dinner time arrived for the boy, he leisurely made his way down to eat.
As expected, it was crowded since most travellers and villagers who are done with work would gather here to rest and refresh. It was also an off day tomorrow(Friday night. Lol) so it makes the place more jampacked than usual.
"Your highness, it's very messy and crowded. Maybe it's better if you dine in your suite." One of the guards informed as he was descending down the stairway.
Raziel looked up at the person, or disguised dark elf at that matter. His sharp refreshing green reptilian eyes narrowed, scaring off the guard that made him gulp.
As the young man pondered, he sighed and delivered a heartwarming innocent not-so-dragon-ey smile. "It's fine. I'd like to observe humans a little." He said.
The dark elf could only obey. Stepping aside the staircase as the young man was lead to his chair.
His red hair fluttered as light as a feather and looked as soft as fur. His smile, innocently placed into his thin lips. Cheeks, as soft and rosy, almost a silk to the touch and green reptilian eyes as bright as emerald jewels but sharp as predators would have.
Overall, he looked delicate but dignified. His small body, not only emitted noble movements, but a complete elegance a normal child shouldn't have had.
This look, made the people turned to him. He who wore a commoner's clothing yet his appearance is unable to hide his high class upbringing despite intentionally messing his hair and putting a little dirt on his chubby face.
Sitting on the provided seat on the corner, a waitress came to take his order. The two guards warily stood behind, watching ever movements that may harm the crown prince.
But Raziel, with a smile spoke sweetly as he took his order. Giving an empty compliment to the lady in her thirties, saying his order with polite tone and thanking her there after.
All with the horrified dark elf behind him.
He is a dragon. A being above all else in this world! Almost a god! But he smiled at a human, he complimented her and he thanked her politely!
These are the reasons they stood there with disbelief. Raziel laughed when he noticed the reaction.
"It's better to blend in with humans to get what you want." He said. "If you go around being arrogant about your existence, others would be too boring to interact with. And since I'm still young, it's quite unfitting." He explained.
"That's not true, your highness." One of the guard said. "No matter one's age is, a dragon is still above all else in nature."
Oh... they also have tongues for flattery. Guess like master like servant?
When the order came, Raziel ate quietly. The room was back to its lively glimmers and noises making it easier for him to blend in properly.
.
Days passed and the boy had finally reached the border to the southeast village belonging to viscount Tolz. He could remember clearly that this was the exact place Raon was tortured so he intently memorized all that he should keep in mind while passing by with the carriage.
The following days after, Raziel would go into the forestry to do said research. As he did, of course, the dark elven guards had to follow of course. But he told them to go find herbs on different directions.
As he trailed the are in search of the Tolz's secret cave, he kept getting disturbed by a sob. He didn't really care at first since it might have been another nature noises so he went further in.
He scanned the area and fortunately, found the said cave. Guards were stationed there as well, but there's nothing much compared to how they were in the novel. The security were not as tight so Raziel managed to enter with his invisibility magic.
But unfortunately, there were nothing but cheap treasures. Some things even Euclidean will not take an interest on because it is ugly.
There was no sign of the egg or any familiar magic so Raziel decided to leave.
While trailing the direction back to the dark elves, he heard sobs again which is now clearly closer than he expected so he decided to confirm if that's a human crying.
Following the direction of the sound, Raziel caught sight of something red. Approaching said person did he finally realized that they almost had identical hairs.
"Hello." Raziel called out.
The sobbing stopped by then and slowly, the child who was taller than Raziel turned around. Teary brown eyes met a curious green ones.
"Are you lost (babeh boy)?"
The child in front of him nodded leaving Raziel somehow a bit reluctant.
Is this who I think it is?
His thoughts made a short rewind from the book. Since only Cale Henituse and White Star or Cale Barrow owned these traits in the novel, Raziel couldn't help but feel slightly troubled.
"Are you lost too? " the older child asked back.
Raziel blinked twice, turning to the redhead like him and smiled. "I'm studying herbs here. Do you want to go back in the village with me?" He asked, lending a hand stretched out for him.
With one final sniff, the other redhead nodded, taking Raziel's hand as they walked together.
"I'm Cale Henituse, by the way. What's your name?" The older asked.
So it's really Cale... Raziel hummed. "I'm Raziel. Nice to meet you, Cale!" The boy introduced back, a bright innocent smile followed.
Cale smiled back shyly, the side of his eyes and nose now swollen from crying.
"So, what are you doing here, Cale?" The boy asked.
"I..." the older redhead hesitated. "I chased my cat. But I can't find him." He explained in embarrassment.
Well, Raziel can't help with that situation anymore. Aside from the fact that he's a lazy bum, he didn't want to meddle with it. "I feel sorry for you. But if you're lucky enough, we might find the cat on the way or we might find it back in the village, but if not, the cat might've gotten to the other side of the forest." He explained.
"Okay." He looked quite down. A to think you'll be dubbed a trash later on.
"Did you stop by the village too?"
"Yes. We're on our way back from the capital."
"Ah..."
The two boys talked for a while. It was a bit enjoyable to be honest since Raziel was talking to the original soul of Cale Henituse. He was quite shy, but time passed and his confidence finally allowed him to engage in proper conversation with Raziel who was such a curious person.
Overall, Cale was quite smart as well. He was bright and talkative to Raziel's relief since he didn't want to do all the talking.
Soon it was sunset.
Orange and reddish hue covered the clear sky making the two redheads looked up.
"It seems that we took a long walk." Cale commented as he scanned the surroundings.
"That's true. It's getting dark." Raziel hummed.
"We don't have light." The boy said a little worried as he looked around the woods.
"It's okay." Raziel raised his pointy finger up, shooting who looked like a fireworks in the sky as a flare. "All we have to do is stay here and they'll look for us." He explained.
And it did not disappoint them that when the evening arrived, torches were lit coming closer to their direction in a hurry.
"Cale!" A woman called out from the crowd of people coming to their direction. She was running frantically towards the two redheads.
As soon as Cale heard his name, he turned to the woman approaching, the same with Raziel. She also had a red hair which made sense when Cale called her 'mom'.
It is Drew Thames.
Coming up to her son, Drew embraced Cale tightly, following behind was the dount Deruth who look worried and their guards including his'.
"Your highness!" The dark elves had called out coming closer to Raziel as well, kneeling down in fear. "Please punish us for such neglect!"
"Oh, it's okay. I'm not injured." The younger redhead responded.
"Your highness?" Cale muttered surprised as soon as he separated from his mother. "You're a prince, Raziel?" He asked.
The boy gave him a small smile. He then placed a hand on his chest as he faced Cale. "Apologies for lat introduction. My name is Raziel Rory Acheros, the crown prince of Dorma." He introduced.
For a moment, the noble family looked at him stunned. Their eyes couldn't be painted with just any stroke as they knelt in front of him after even the confused guards belonging to the Henituse household knelt down as well. "Greetings to the little sun of Dorma!"
Raziel raised his hand as a sign for them to get up and smiled again. "I greet you a pleasant evening as well, family of Henituse County. But this estranged place might not be a good atmosphere for a good chat, no?"
"Y-yes, that's right!" Deruth quickly ordered his men to lead the way back to the village they were currently resting. As soon as they did, Raziel invited them to join him for dinner.
Since the county could not decline a royal's invitation--even if they don't have any particular reason to decline at all-- they joined the redhead prince in the dinner table awkwardly. Even Cale was flustered, carefully making sure that he won't make any insignificant mistake in the dinner table.
Raziel chuckled with a start. His voice sounding in the entire table that not a soul did not hear, making the looked at him.
"I admire the Henituse County for maintaining such great fortress in the south east border of Roan kingdom." He started formally. "Not only are you able to keep monsters at bay, but your son is also brave and smart. It is such a gift." He praised.
He couldn't help but suddenly feel that he's slowly learning the ways of Alberu's glib tongue. There's not even a day that the crown prince of Roan did not stop from complimenting him.
Deruth quickly straightened up flustered. "You gave us too much credits, your highness! This is what we must do." He explained. "And my son, I'm really proud of him." He added softly.
Raziel looked at Cale who was blushing and smiled. "You may have lost your cat. It's hard, but I'm sure you'll get something better in the future." His green reptilian eyes turned crescent from his smile. What will your other self get in the future? A dragon? Two poison expert assassin little cats? Assassin father and son package from your household? Money? Too many to count my dear friend, except a peaceful life.
Cale looked down a little saddened. "Yes, your highness."
"Feel free to call me Raziel." He said, the other redhead turned to the prince surprised.
"But that's rude, your highness."
"We're friends right? What's rude with friends calling each other's name?" He innocently replied. His smile so bright, the room felt like it went to heaven there for a second.
"Yes but..." Cale still looked hesitant.
Raziel then smiled. "I'm a boy with ten billion bounty in his head. Dorma has some countries that wish to conquer it so they openly put bounty in my head." He explained, making sure that he followed Euclidean's rules so he wouldn't get scolded.
"W-what?!" The table looked at the boy shocked. Even the guards surrounding them looked at him uneasy.
"Isn't that great of a sum~ you'll get rich with just cutting a five year old's head?" Raziel added.
"I won't let anyone do that!" Cale slammed his palms on the table, looking at Raziel with what looked like a solid resolve.
"Hmm?" The younger redhead watched.
"Henituse household have more money! I'll protect you and put bounty on their heads instead." He declared making the Henituse couple looked at the seven year old boy.
Raziel laughed at Cale's serious remark, almost as if he really meant it. "You pass." He raised his thumbs up.
The older redhead looked confused. "Pass? Is that a lie, your highness?" He asked.
"Ah... what I said was true. But father told me that if someone want to be my friend, I should tell them this." He explained.
"But why would you say something that will endanger you life, your highness?!" Cale asked.
"Because I want Cale to be my friend." Earning the trust of the future protagonist can help me with my future survival. Besides~ I needed an alibi so I could get close to my little brother through you. "So from now on, Call me Raziel!" He beamed brightly again.
Cale blinked twice, looking at Raziel before smiling back with a defeated sigh. "Then if Raziel is happy, I'll gladly call you that."
Meanwhile, Drew watched his son and the prince giggled with a smile on her lips. His cute son and now the saint like prince are talking to each other comfortably. And since they were both redheads, they looked like they were siblings as well.
Although it did raise curiosity to the county why the crown prince of Dorma who was staying at the palace of Roan, they didn't dare ask him. But Raziel was nice enough to satisfy their curiosity with the purpose why he was there and the Tolz family did not come to welcome his arrival.
Because he was studying botany and his travel was made in secret which is why he had minimal guards around him. It made them also realise why his guard were carrying different kinds of herbs as well.
The next day, the two parties decided to depart to their own destinations. While the county who are on the way back to their territory are on the other side, Raziel took the opposite route to return to the capital and prepare his departure back in Dorma once he's back.
It would also be best if he came sooner since it's been a week since he was not able to send a letter to Euclidean whom he had promised that he will write every three days to ensure that he was still... alive and well.
Hopefully, the capital won't be his next target...
But Raziel never thought that he had just jinx-ed himself as they walked through the capital with nothing but an empty street. Even the beggars and thieves are gone with the wind.
The capital looked like a ghost town.
.
Finally! One down! More stories to go 😅
Sorry for this rush chap. Time skip is coming so that we can proceed!!!
But for now...
What will happen next? Guess we're in with Raziel's life of extravaganza before Cale comes and match him in the future.
Chapter 9: The Red Dragon 08
Chapter Text
The carriage arrived at the main gate of the palace.
The silence are making them nervous as they waited for what felt like an hour of nothingness until they were welcomed by not one, but dozens of elves aligned to welcome him.
All bowing respectfully to the open carriage where Raziel was in.
Ah...
The scenario dawned into him as one of the elven knight belonging to Dorma held out a hand to support his small body down the carriage.
"Welcome back, your highness!" The elves said with glee on their admiring eyes.
It's the sadistic adopted father of mine. He's here.
Raziel can tell. Euclidean's followers are here... at least the most powerful ones that do all his bidding when he doesn't feel like doing so.
But isn't this going overboard?!
The boy mentally face palmed. It was a given that Euclidean loves trouble. he loves it so much that he hated the peaceful Dorma. He loves it so much that execution comes every three days in the plaza. He loves it so much that he prefer making more enemies than friends.
And right now, Roan and Dorma is in the brink of becoming enemies because Euclidean is here.
"Little apple." A gentle voice spoke from the palace entrance as what welcomed Raziel was the blue dragon in his simple attire.
His father who was smiling like an innocent and young single dad, hands widespread in the air in anticipation.
The young redhead mentally sighed. Here we go again... with a bright wide smile, the little boy ran towards him with all excitement he could muster. "Papa!" And with that, he jumped at him with the brightest and sweetest reunion.
Euclidean smiled in satisfaction, looking back at King Zed with a smug and bragging look as if his eyes were saying 'can't do it with your son, huh? Sad old bastard~' written all over his face.
Zed's eyebrow twitched, but kept smiling in a welcoming face nonetheless. Alberu stood beside him looking at Euclidean with amazement nearly coming out of him. But both have one thing running through their minds including the people in the palace.
They shouldn't and never must, offend that dragon.
"Papa, papa, did you want to see Roan Kingdom too?" Raziel asked curiously.
Everyone looked at the little redhead who's head was tilted to the side. Now, a mental image of the father and son came into them. Euclidean looking like a real giant dragon and Raziel looking like a little kitten playing with him.
"Yes, I came to see what's so distracting that my son had forgotten to send me a letter for a week now." He smiled, the smile so innocent yet threatening when installed with dragon fear that it made the air so heavy, the elves had quickly knelt down as if to appease the dragon before them.
But of course, Raziel had already prepared his own piece to calm the angry blue devil before him as he brought out seven letters out of his spatial dimension. "Ta-da~" he happily exclaimed. "I couldn't send it from my location so I write what happens everyday, papa!" The boy said happily.
If I didn't know you enough, I wouldn't know that you're just running a tantrum because I didn't inform anything!
This thought made Raziel feel proud of himself somehow as he slowly watched the dragon fear slowly calmed down. "So that's what happened?" He petted Raziel's head and turned to the king and one of his son. "I see, I get it, little apple. Did you like Roan?"
"It's good! I made friends!" The boy replied. "And, and, I also met someone with red hair."
"Oh, are you assuming you're related to them, little apple?" Euclidean frowned.
The boy quickly shook his head. "Nooo. Because my hair is a different shade of red..." He responded thoughtfully.
"So you really like Roan?"
"Yes..." Raziel can tell where this is going and he needed to do something about it.
"Then let's take thi--"
Raziel jumped into him and hugged Euclidean, cold sweat pouring into him as though he's about to be executed, looking at the shocked expression of the Crossman family.
"Papa~ Dorma is already great! And the the crown prince Al is my friend so I rather do visits." He tightened his hug with that innocent smile on his face.
Euclidean sighed with a bored grumble. "Fine. I won't destroy it." He said despite looking very disappointed.
The king looked at him shocked.
Destroy what now? Roan kingdom?
Raziel giggled innocently. "Yay!" And he began talking about herbs, naturally slipping off the thoughts about destroying a country. By now, Euclidean managed to destroy two kingdoms close by.
Which explains why there are kingdoms that doesn't like Dorma.
But thankfully, this place was a survivor.
"Then it's time to go home~" Euclidean sang in boredom as he kept the boy in his arms.
Raziel could only peek out of his parent's shoulder to peek at Alberu and waved at him, mouthing the words 'thank you', 'goodbye' and 'see you later' as they went further towards the teleportation device.
Whereas, Alberu gave him a smile and a noble bow while Zed stared.
After the commotion in Roan was done and the threat to humanity has disappeared, the kingdom's capital became breathable again.
It all happened yesterday morning. It was a typical day in the country and people are living their lives like they used to. It's just an every day routine until the sun started being covered in clouds. The sky turned ominous and thunders began peeking out of the cloudy skies.
Soon after the teleportation device opened and marched out multiple ironclad elves towards the main castle and from the sky flaps a strong gush of giant wings.
As everyone looked up, amazement, fear and indescribable shock came as they panicked from the sight of that blue creature.
--humans... inside your houses. NOW. Any human I see outside, dies.
He ordered.
Without further questioning everyone entered their homes, beggars hid in the sewers and merchants flee. The capital instantly became a ghost town.
As soon as it did, Euclidean landed to the castle gates in front of his people to his human form, considering that this size was smaller to fit inside the castle's entrance. A smile on his face as he approached the king of this hailed kingdom that is much older than him but weaker compared to other rising nations.
He spoke with a start. "My son seemed to have enjoyed playing in your backyard. So I'll wait for him here."
Euclidean was accommodated with utmost care, no questions asked. However, it was a wonder how, of all placed, could his son be playing in Roan.
It was all answered when Raziel got back.
Because that 'son', was actually him in the first place.
"Alberu, you did well becoming friends with Dorma's crown prince." Zed said seriously.
The young blonde gave him a bow. "Thank you, your majesty." He said excusing himself.
Dragons.
It's rare finding one in the western continent, but to think that two of them can live out in the open and is ruling a country would be the most unbelievable tale one would see if they didn't witness it themselves.
Alberu looked up the sky, realizing that he seemed to be of luck. To think he's managed to befriend a dragon child, it's quite an advantage and a good ally in the future.
.
.
.
Green reptilian eyes stared out the window in that rainy day.
His beautiful gems shined in wait of a rainbow that will surely be coming sooner.
After his adventure in Roan, the dragon prince/ former inventor, decided to rest for a while. He'll be continuing his research later on as requested by Euclidean as he told him that he will have to continue to learn magic after stopping when he was three.
It was a good thing that he finally wanted to continue teaching him. Maybe by then, he will learn how to control his attribute as well.
But first... he needs to watch the upcoming rainbow!
"Little apple, are you ready?" Euclidean entered the room, his blue locks being blown tenderly by the wind from the open balcony.
Raziel turned around and nodded as he pointed out. "The rainbow. I'm waiting for the rainbow."
"Hmm..." the blue dragon walked his way into his room and made his way towards him to peek out the window as well. Blue eyes watched the rain fall off from the gloomy skies.
"It's going to last for three hours. I'll tell you when a rainbow comes out."
"Okay!" The young man was picked up by the older dragon, carefully fixing him in his side as they walked off.
Chapter 10: The Red Dragon 09
Chapter Text
A newly hatched black dragon egg immediately experienced suffering in the hands of humans.
Just when he was a month old, he was suddenly put into near-death experience as he was lashed by whips unknown of why they were doing it. He knew for himself that he had done absolutely nothing to provoke anyone.
But why do they mock and hurt him?
Venion Stan, who always appeared during his torture brought an unforgettable scar to the young dragon as days gone by.
For two months, three months and four months of suffering.
The nameless one felt like he shouldn't have been born if he would end up like this as soon as he opened his eyes to see the world.
"Dammit. I'm so damn late." The voice spoke, his tone sounding with anger that made his ears perk. He pretended to sleep as he listened to the curses of the new voice he's never heard of before. "How dare they do this, you're still a hatchling." The voice spoke again.
The little dragon curled more, trying to make himself invisible to this new person's eyes, or he might become his person of interest to hurt. The black dragon, wanted to avoid that as much as possible.
"The magic restraints are annoying. I can't even break the chain."
The stranger spoke again.
"Hang in there blackie. Guess, I have no choice but to wait for him to save you out of here." The voice spoke now softly, soothing that it slowly made him feel that this person won't actually hurt him.
If the black dragon were to guess, this stranger is probably talking to him. "I have herbs here that works on deep wounds." He felt a touch on his bleeding skin, making him jolt up and jump away.
As soon as his bright blue eyes looked up he saw a kid with red hair, an ointment in his hand looking back at him with bright green gaze so innocent it erased the cruel faces he had in his nightmares.
The boy with red hair smiled in front of him kindly. Something he's never seen anyone make face before as his little dragon heart raced. Both reptilian eyes looking at one another.
"Don't be scared. I'm sorry I came unprepared" he whispered. "But I promise, someone with red hair like me will come and save you."
He explained.
"But while you're here, we're going to lessen that pain of yours." The little redhead frowned in deep thought. His eyes on the little black dragon who was watching him cautiously. "I should kill him. You know, Venion." He hummed.
The black dragon, who will be named Raon in the future, turned to the older red dragon.
"Guess he's your prey, huh?" The boy hummed. "Father said, it's going to be bad for dragons if they harm someone else's target."
Raon stared at him, not responding but only stared.
"I don't really know if you can understand me right now or not. But whichever is good. I'm just going to put this ointment and will create an hallucinogen in the entrance to make them see what they want to see when inside."
"Also, always be careful okay? You're doing great right now. You did well." The child pats his smooth head that made him somehow comply. The familiar feeling to this redheaded kid made him lose his guard.
The black dragon closed his eyes and rubbed himself to his hand quietly. First time in four months... this was the first time someone came to looked at him kindly, pet his head and became gentle with him. It was too overwhelmingly unexpected that small sobs suddenly escaped his unspeaking lips.
Raziel felt his heart crushed as he watched Raon crying. How long has he been out? He was months late because he thought, the egg would hatch exactly this year, but he was hatched months earlier.
He slowly lifted up the baby dragon, feeling all his magic becoming empty to his touch which meant that the magic restraints were stronger than it actually looks. Lifting the lightweight Raon, he gave him a less tight embrace taking into consideration his closing wounds and pats him softly in the head.
"Everything's going to be okay. I'll protect you until he comes and take you out of here."
He lulled the baby dragon to sleep as he coldly looked at the cage Raon has been in. His dragon fear might have been seeping out of his body for seconds before he let it low. He clenched his fist and looked at Raon again, reminding him over and over again how he failed to protect his family in his previous life.
Maybe he should get Raon now. But then again, his life would be happier with Cale as he most likely have the biggest chances of survival in this world considering the people that he managed to take to his side. Meanwhile, Raziel and Euclidean were unknown characters which does not affect the story line even if they die as they were only extras.
Taking him into conclusion to just keep Raon safe the best of his abilities. He's going to take Venion Stan after Raon gets his revenge on that bastard.
There's no more painful torture than being in Euclidean's hands after all.
.
.
.
Years Later...
His cape fluttered in the windy afternoon. His eyes ranged far wide into the mountains as he stood in the end of the cliff.
Those previous wide reptilian eyes still holds its glorified shines but it matured quite a bit yet they still looked innocent and soft as he smiled.
Sixteen years had passed ever since he came into this world and so began the real story line of the novel "Trash of the Count's Family" that he's been anticipating. A sigh escaped his lips before turning around to leave the cliff while another taller man followed behind him wearing a hood.
"Your highness, a letter was sent for you." He spoke, the wind passed through, letting the naked eye see through the hidden light blonde hair and pointy ear from his side, clearly indicating that he was an elven race.
He became Raziel's guard when the boy turned six. His name is Theodore, one of the elite elves belonging to Euclidean's special forces that he assembled to do his bidding when lazy. Since he was the youngest, he was stationed to take care of the redhead dragon prince and be his playmate.
The greatest honor he would carry until his deathbed.
The redhead turned to him. "From who?" He asked.
The elf guard handed him the letter which was sealed with a family seal belonging to his familiar friend.
"Al's sending an invite?" He muttered. It's been three years since his last visit to Roan-- well, in the capital at least as he's been busy keeping Raon in check. The two best of friends had a short stroll in town to catch up what they've been up to. While Alberu was busy solidifying his standing as the crown prince, Raziel had been busy practicing his attribute and learning crown prince duties as well, despite Euclidean saying that he didn't need those useless things.
'Just let the elves do it, they agree whatever you tell them anyway.' As he had phrased it.
But Raziel knew that that's being too much. Although their servant elves never complained, there's still a limit to when you overwork your subjects.
Albeit, Euclidean, being Euclidean, enjoyed everyone's sufferings before him so it's hard to stop him from doing so. The sadistic dragon never fails to make someone suffer in a span of day and Elves always volunteers to be his victims-- they're willing to become masochists for him.
"Hmm? He's inviting me to their noble's gathering?" He hummed.
It was a possibility that the plaza incident will be on that date which means, he'll be able to meet that bastard, Redika. That guy who threw him casually into the river when he was still a newly hatched dragon...
It made him smile... the innocent smirk slowly dispersing into an irritated one as he remembered that day. Thankfully he drifted in Euclidean's lair, else he might really be a drowned one day lizard at that time sixteen years ago.
Calming himself, he sighed again. "It's time to go home. Father's waiting." He said as the two descended down the mountains.
Nothing eventful happened for the passed years as Raziel grew. He only took care of things of much importance as he waited for the main event where Kim Rok Soo will finally be transmigrate in this world.
On his list was:
1. To learn magic ☑
2. To awaken his attribute ☑
3. To meet his brother Raon ☑
4. Keeping Euclidean from taking over neighbouring kingdoms ☑
5. Research on herbs ☑
6. Keeping Euclidean from destroying a neighbouring country out of boredom ❎
7. Keeping Euclidean from torturing any soul in a week(at least he doesn't kill every three days, that's the span of his patience)❎
The list continued on towards his problem father. But Raziel couldn't blame him, because his attribute is close to despair which is a reason why he like making people suffer and turned sadistic.
Mentally folding his checklist, Raziel finally reached the end of the mountain where a carriage was waiting for him. Two stationed elven guards stood there in patient waits as the watched the dragon child descend down and knelt down as an automatic response to his godly sight.
He let out a quiet sigh and greeted them. "It's time to go home. My dad might destroy a country if we don't check on him." He said, an innocent smile on his face.
But of course, they are elves.
"His majesty is the best! He destroys everything with his amazing prowess and grace!" The elven guards shouted sternly. Well... as long as he does not destroy forests then they don't really care.
Ah... they were whipped to Euclidean's liking after all.
"Alright." The boy responded. "But we don't want him destroying anything right now... well, for me at least."
He got into the carriage and soon the ride back home continued. The clipping sound of the horse hooves and the wheels crunching into the rocky road were the only things that could be heard.
The continuous rhythm slowly lulled him to sleep as he closed his eyes and relaxed.
He wondered if he should go or not. He's not sure if he's ready to meet the formation of Cale squad yet but he also did want to see if Raon is living well as he thought he'll be since after seeing the baby dragon once, he didn't show himself and just focused on protecting him outside.
He opened his eyes once again and smiled helplessly. Of course, Cale isn't that heartless... not much but he still have some big heart there for his people. He wondered if the possibility that they meet, is Cale going to scam him or fear him or be casual with him once he finds out that Raziel is a dragon?
Knowing Kim Rok Soo's attitude in the novel, he wouldn't show his circumstances but he will obviously avoid him if he poses as troublesome(Clopeh survived tho).
"Guess I'll go to that gethering then." He told himself amused. "It sounds kinda interesting mingling with main characters."
Chapter 11: The Red Dragon 10
Chapter Text
Just a funny thought while I was reading through the novel
○It took me more than a hundred chapters to finally not confuse myself with Raon's(the dragon) name to Roan country.
●I also didn't realize until later flashbacks that Lee Soo Hyuk, Choi Jung Soo and Kim Rok Soo are not related.
○I mixed a lot of Korean names because they all sound similar for me but I'm learning. Lol.
.
.
Roan is a long standing country lasting for thousand of years. Although they aren't that great in military prowess or resources, it still stood untouched by bigger powers.
It is, at some point, a great country of its own having the Crossman family preserve it for centuries and generations.
Well, at least among all else, Roan probably avoids as much war as possible.
Taking a sip on his cup of tea, he looked at the bored Euclidean across the tea table in the garden. "Is the gladiator stage done?" He asked.
Raziel smiled at him. "It will be done soon, papa. Solidifying the infrastructure with magic will keep it from being destroyed easily." He said, sipping another from his cup. Well, as long as you decide not to destroy it on your own, that is.
With how gruesome the palace had become everyday, Raziel decided to suggest to build a Colosseum separately for his dad. Since it wasn't that famous, the redhead explained that it's a circular building surrounded by bleachers where the audience sat and there is a field in the middle where gladiators or slaves would fight(leaving out the term to death) in which who ever won would be rewarded. It's bloody enough and Euclidean doesn't need to lift a finger to torture anyone anymore.
The blue dragon's eyes sparkled like an excited child as he gave a headpat to his fifteen year old son. "Amazing, great! You're learning the best ways of entertainment, little apple!" He exclaimed proudly. Ah, who would have thought that his innocent smile are only for dark and gruesome things.
But Raziel, being used to it smiled and complied tamely to his father's pets one of which is Euclidean's fault for pampering him too much even if he's already a teen.
The boy also lessened his playing cute part so he doesn't run around being all smiles and sunshines anymore. It was reserved for his father and Alberu now but he still smiles a lot, only in a way that won't hurt his jaw.
And that new found signature smile of his, looked too kind that everyone think they're looking at an angel and was branded 'The Red Saint of Dorma' which made Raziel cringe a few times whenever he hears the infamous name.
Taking another sip, he eyed his bored father who seemed to have nothing better to do than make people suffer.
"Papa, I'm visiting Roan again." He said.
"Hmm?" Euclidean frowned before his ocean blue reptilian eyes looked up to the sixteen year old. "You really seem to be enjoying Roan so much. We must take over it." He suggested.
Raziel laughed a little. "But I like Dorma better. Besides, we shouldn't take countries so casually. It's bothersome having to take care many people." He shrugged.
"Right." The blue dragon sighed. "That's boring."
For years, Raziel already had the pattern of Euclidean's likes and dislikes. It was quite hard to keep up at first since he seems to be extreme on the least of things he would expect. It almost felt like the boy was the one raising his father for the sake of world peace.
"So as I was saying, I'm visiting Roan. Al invited me to a party and I'm sure Cale will be there as well."
"Who is this Cale? I don't think I hear this ugly name from you often."
"He was the redhead friend I was telling you about." Raziel explained. "I visited him probably five times now."
Euclidean knew the crown prince Alberu was his son's so-called friend. He may be apathetic about this young lad but he is mindful of people who surrounds Raziel. The Roan prince also visited Dorma one time, one of which is not a good experience as that blonde brat took all his son's time and attention while he was here.
He didn't like it, obviously.
"Come here." Euclidean called out.
Raziel obeyed him and approached him out of curiosity. As soon as he did, the blue dragon went on and automatically carried him in his arms making the redhead surprised.
"Father?!" He called out confused and embarrassed as Euclidean began to walk off.
"You sure do forget a lot of things don't you, little apple?"
"What do you mean? I don't easily forget anything at all." The boy complained, a blush dusting his cheeks as he was being carried. "And put me down, I'm clearly big now!" He complained.
"Oh? Just because you're a little taller, doesn't change the fact that you're still far from 100 years old. You're still a kid because I say so."
What kind of logic is that? Is it because you're ancient years old?
The boy watched as he was carried inside the castle. The servants bowing whenever they passed by, following with a giggle as they are very much used to this scenario where the blue dragon always carries his son whenever chances he gets which they find endearing as the king still babies his son affectionately.
But for Raziel who had to take up the receiving point of the rumors that will soon spread, is embarrassed because soon it will reach Alberu's ears and use it to tease him.
"So, if you didn't forget, what is it that I am saying then?" Euclidean asked.
"Nap day?" It's the fourth day of the week. Euclidean always takes a nap during these days which means 'no one will die' or 'no torture' so Raziel is usually calm.
But then again, what did he mean by today?
"It's your sixteenth birthday." Euclidean decided to finally reveal. "Oh, little apple, are you really this forgetful?"
His birthday? Now Raziel is more confused. "Wasn't that last week?" He's pretty sure Euclidean threw the party last week like some rich king--which he is-- and even threw that party in the entire kingdom for the world to know that he is an everyday millionaire.
"Oh, we made the country party in advance." The blue dragon explained. "Now today is your actual birthday so we're celebrating it."
"But why?"
"Because I said so. Let's go and destroy some hopes and dreams." Euclidean casually threw his son to a guard elf who stood behind them which he easily caught. "Change your clothes, we're going to visit an annoying uncle of yours." He said while leaving the hallway.
"Uncle?" What uncle? The confused dragon watched the blue disappeared from his sight. Wait, Euclidean had a brother?!
Raziel thoughtfully went through Euclidean's stories about himself, but he failed to remember any term his father used to reveal that he had a brother. The happy guard, who was bestowed the opportunity to carry the great and mighty red dragon, walked with a sparkle in his eyes taking the sixteen year old towards his room.
Then he turned to the elf guard who was carrying him. "Did father ever mentioned that he had a brother?" He asked.
The blonde elf turned to him and beamed a smile. This castle are seriously filled with beautiful elves and dragons...
"His majesty never said anything to us as well. Only you, the crown prince, knew him best." He replied.
The boy hummed. "Is that so..." he sighed. Forget it, he'll know once they finally get to meet.
But honestly, if he has a brother then that means that there's another ancient dragon that was clearly not mentioned in the story.
Well, who would have thought? With how vast stories are, there's also a lot of possibilities that were never even mentioned. Well, it's also a good connection. Since Euclidean seemed to have addressed him as the annoying brother, then that means he might be a decent person... hopefully.
Reaching his room(while being carried by the lucky elf), Raziel finally got himself changed with the help of his maids and a newly appointed elf butler. All of their servants in the castle now are voluntary elves which made Raziel felt bad for as they don't particularly like any material things for payment for their hard work-- but they do have free lodgings, free meal and leave anytime they want. Except the official elves who tends to Euclidean's affairs of course.
Changing into his casual commoner's wear consisting of a simple white long sleeves, black stretchable pants and brown leather boots, he walked out of his room again and made his way towards the palace entrance, finding Euclidean in a similar attire which is actually his usual fashion.
As he was trailing towards his father, the servants had carefully placed his hooded cape, the same with the blue dragon.
In front of them was an open portal, which is probably their means of transportation for today.
Finally standing beside the older blue, Raziel glanced up at him as his height merely reached his shoulder level.
"You have a brother?" The boy asked curiously.
"Well, I did not mention as he always slips out of my mind since he's irrelevant." Euclidean explained.
"Oh..." the boy hummed.
"Is he also a thousand years old?"
"Yeah. He's a hundred year older but he acts like he's my father." He shrugged a pout was clearly painted in his irritated beautiful face. "He heard the news of me becoming king of Dorma but he's more interested to the apple that I found so he's been bugging me for fifteen years to meet you."
"Fifteen years?" And only now did you think is a good idea to let me meet him?! The boy thought.
"He said he's dying. So I'll come see him and mock his demise."
Huh???
Swoosh--
There was silence between the father and son after the blue dragon said that.
You're going to mock your dying brother?! Just what the hell?!
"The coordinates have been set." He said, a smile on his face(the look which says, 'I can't wait to see you die'). "Let's go."
He entered the device first in which Raziel helplessly followed. 'I should apologize to the poor uncle when we get there...'
The sound of the portal was like an underwater experience for the redhead as he walked a second through the gate. On that short second that he passed by, there was this sensation that a thin silk was cloaking his body before it vanished as soon as he got through.
When he stood to the other side, he soon realized that they were standing at the foot of a forest. Wide ranged and was quite generous with trees and quite the dark aura emanating from it. He scanned the surrounding, trying to recognize if he's been here before, but it looks like he didn't. In the peak of the mountain was covered in snow which reminded him of something from the story. A familiar sight which may be something owned by someone strangely familiar to him because of the story.
"Where are we?" The red dragon decided to ask.
Euclidean hummed, "The foot of mount Yellia."
Wait. Wait. Wait!
Raziel looked at Euclidean wide eyed. He blinked, shocked and confused as he turned his head back to the mountain.
He did read that in one of the geographic books in the palace library of Dorma. Mt. Yellia is the most dangerous mountain in the continent which was located in the Whipper Kingdom--
...And is secretly a dragon's lair according to the novel. Not just any dragon's lair, but Eruhaben's! The golden dragon!
He looked at his father again and Euclidean clearly looked annoyed.
"Your brother lives in mt. Yellia?" Raziel tried to confirm.
"Yeah. He does."
Raziel pursed his lips as the blue dragon started to walk his way towards the mountain. It was cold considering that there is snow everywhere, literally.
The two, who wore simple attire didn't seem to mind the cold as they cloaked themselves with heat magic, walking casually into the center of the mountain to its peak.
Looking around, Raziel minded the place thinking how it became the most dangerous. Or maybe he just didn't understand the concept of danger since it didn't bother him because of the challenges he faced during Euclidean's training.
He simply shrugged and soon the two had reached the mountain's peak to find nothing but white blanket of snow.
Wait, this was the scene where Eruhaben will make the ground shake and stop the snow, right?
He tried to remember the scene in his head. But before he could ask Euclidean if they're going to wait, the blue dragon seemed to have his own plans.
In his own accord with a flick of his finger, the snow paused from literally falling. There was an odd glow from him and with another flick, the snow white mountain was suddenly visited by a strong wind which pushed all falling snow aside as revealed a cave right in front of them.
This is clearly OP.
Raziel blinked again, in pure amazement as he watched Euclidean casually entered.
Also from their standpoint, footsteps were heard from the inner cave until revealed an elf looking man with golden hair and reptilian eyes which Raziel confirmed to be actually Eruhaben.
I guess I met him earlier than I expected...
The boy looked at him a bit awkwardly, slowly and sneakily trying to hide behind his father a bit cautiously just to make sure he's safer.
"You actually came for once." Was Eruhaben's first words for his younger brother, then his eyes shifted towards the shorter redhead who was peeking through Euclidean's side, a frown on his beautiful face.
Well, this is really awkward...
Raziel felt the overwhelmed, but decided to stare back. He's another dragon, no wonder Euclidean was annoyed just talking about his so-called brother. They are clearly opposite!
"This child is your son." Eruhaben stated again while staring at me with a frown.
At times like this, he wished he was the kid who swallowed a happy pill so he can confidently say hi.
"This little apple is my son." Euclidean announced walked out of the way which revealed the the entirety of the younger red dragon.
Raziel wanted to run after Euclidean and hide again, but that would be too un-dragon-like. He only stood there and smiled.
"It's nice to meet you, uncle." He smiled at him, the saint-way smile that holds the innocence of the world.
"Indeed you are." Eruhaben agreed as he approached the redhead. "Have you gone through your first growth phase?" He asked, now, they stood face to face.
"Yes." The young man replied.
"I see. That's good." The golden dragon replied with a small smile on his face. His hand, reaching out to Raziel's read hair and pat him carefully. "Is this sadistic brother of mine teaching you magic well?" He asked again.
The boy blinked, green reptilian eyes looking at Eruhaben. "Umm... yes. Father is so strong and powerful, I'm learning a lot." He explained.
There was a smug chuckled on the side where Euclidean sat. His arms and feet were crossed elegantly. "See, brother, you're worried over nothing." He said.
"Knowing how you are, I'm worried that your son will be like you." Eruhaben let his head go and turned to Euclidean with disapproval. "Taking over human kingdom? Destroying two other countries? Is this how a dragon should act?" He asked.
"What? I'm bored. I do what I want to which will make me great and mighty."
"Such words, Euclid, has isolating yourself for seven hundred years makes you such an idiot?"
Raziel sucked a deep breath, stepping aside as he saw the clear twitch in Euclidean's eyebrows.
"How foolish. For someone who's dying right now to spout such nonsense?"
Dragon fear was running wild into the air. The suffocating aura made Raziel a bit uncomfortable but aside from that he wasn't affected as he himself was a dragon who can counter dragon fear. But these two ancient beings, are a bit too extreme after meeting for so many years.
"Wait, wait!" Raziel stood in between, making the two stop. "Father, Uncle, please calm down. The mountain will be destroyed."
"So?" Euclidean raised an eyebrow.
"The herbs will die. I still need to study their species!" He reasoned out.
"Little apple, are you that inlove with plants?"
YES! But not the point! If you two actually fight, Whipper Kingdom will vanish to the surface of the earth!
Raziel looked at his father desperately. Euclidean, who could not fight against that look, sighed and resigned his dragon fear which surprised Eruhaben whom have known his brother for centuries of being ruthless.
The fact that the blue dragon who does not listen to anyone, backed away in a fight and listened to his adopted son sounded like a hope peeking through that big hole to his heart.
Stepping back a little, he also resigned the dragon fear of his own.
"Ho..." he hummed with interest watching how the short tempered blue had calmed down. It was a progress. A really big progress.
Raziel sighed in relief. This is for the sake of world peace. World peace, Blain! World Peace!
Reminding himself his civil duty to save the world by stopping his father so Cale can come forward to a complete world later on, Raziel was met with Golden eyes once again, now a sharp observing glance which he returned with his unfaltering saint-like smile.
You look proud great and mighty uncle... it took me sixteen years tho, trying to test his patience with the span of my life.
Raziel cried internally, remembering a really bad childhood memory at the moment.
He mentally shrugged and looked at the ancient dragons with a calm smiled.
"You guys talk. I'll study the herbs first so don't fight, okay? Thanks for the gift, papa! See you later uncle!" He waved and started to run off the cave.
These siblings need some time alone. As much as Raziel feared that they're going to continue arguing, he trust that Eruhaben will at least hold back, considering that there are close by village within his area.
He only hopes that Euclidean would do the same...
.
So... yeah. I didn't really thought this through, but I realized that Eruhaben and Euclidean had the same first and last letters on their names... so why not make them sibling?! Lmao.
Anyways, see yah!
Chapter 12: The Red Dragon 11
Chapter Text
Raziel kicked a nearby rock as he trailed to the now calmer Mt. Yellia.
The snow coated ground was thinner now due to the air that Euclidean used to push away the snow that Eruhaben created.
He could actually feel the tingly mana that was coming from the cave's direction, which had been running high and low making the air more peculiar to those who had no prior engagement or knowledge to what's actually happening.
But oh, it's just two adult ancient dragons exchanging bad words instead of battling.
It was a good thing that they were holding back at least.
But as he was walking down whatever path his feet was taking him, his eyes sparkled when he saw a rare herb he's been fascinated with.
A Hasha flower(it's just a made up flower, if ever existed, ah well, just assume it's a different flower). It was a red lily-like flower, but it came from a thorny vine.
"An herb that is known for its immunological properties. It's quite rare to find one since it only blooms on dangerous places in a specific type of tree which is--" the boy went into an abrupt pause as he was about to touch the Hasha flower.
A tree..?
Raziel felt something fell right into his head. The impact of his head hitting said strange item made him flinch and his eyes followed the item with his gaze as it lay on the ground.
His body froze, eyes widened and was visibly shaken by the sight of it. He, with a shaky knee, slowly backed away.
His eyes never leaving the item as he covered his mouth, feeling nauseous. He almost wanted to fall unconscious but held himself firmly.
Do not be afraid! Do not be afraid! It's a non-living thing!
There lay on the ground, his greatest fear as if that inanimate object might earn legs and jumped on him and enter his mouth. He cautiously backed away farther and farther, sweat trickling down his chin due to this tricky situation. He needed to run immediately until he was finally farther.
He never saw it for sixteen years because that entire existence was banned and burned in Dorma by his father for the sake of his son's peace of mind. But right now, he was facing it. The innocent thing that lay there was making one of the strongest creature's knees tremble.
The item which was as red as his hair and also happened to be his glorified nickname given by Euclidean.
The accursed apple!
He dashed off as fast as he could. Away from the apple and towards the cave wanting to shout for help.
Unconsciously, his body glowed and shifted into his original dragon form, flying and dashing in search of the cave where he just came from.
.
Euclidean and Eruhaben looked at one another after a silent glare.
"When are you dying?" Euclidean suddenly asked bluntly.
Eruhaben frowned. "Are you that eager to see me die?" He asked.
"Yes, I am. Very."
The golden dragon sighed in disappointment. This ungrateful little brother is probably the first and last person who'd like to see him die. But honestly, they're both at the peak of their ages, it's not going to be a surprise if Euclidean would actually follow suit after him.
The problem is, the blue dragon's adopted son. It seemed that he wasn't aware that anytime soon, Euclidean might also pass away.
Eruhaben looked at his brother seriously and just by those stares, the blue dragon already understood what he was thinking.
"I'm not dying yet." He waved off. "Suffering in this world is so vast, my attribute can always extend my life."
"You can't predict something especially your life." Eruhaben sighed. "Once nature states it, you'll eventually return to the ground and give it back."
"Isn't that how it is?" Blue sharp reptilian eyes shot back a glance at him. "But I'm confident that it isn't the time yet."
"Ho, is that what you think?"
"Of course. Maybe if you picked up a little apple of your own, your lifespan might add up." Euclidean shrugged.
"Baby dragons are not fruits, Euclidean. And a hatchling is usually taken cared by their parents and were taught before they leave on their own accord." Eruhaben thought deeply as he paused to his own explanation. The young dragon that his younger brother was taking good care of, was quite peculiar.
It was...
Friendly?
Dragons who meets other dragons usually starts with an arrogant argument in which a high probability of fighting will occur.
"Your son." He sighed again. "He's very much like a human. Had I not known the mana stored in that small body of his', I'd actually think that the boy is a mage and not a real dragon."
"He's still soft hearted since he grew up with elves and that annoying human prince." Euclidean responded. "But he'll get bored with that little charade of his' soon enough."
"So you can tell?" Eruhaben hummed with interest as he watched his brother say something like this. The idea that he knew his son more.
"Not only you, but I've lived a thousand years. And that little apple has yet another hundred years to know the tricks of lies." The blue shrugged. "Sometimes he looks like he knew everything regardless of what it is. The problem is, he doesn't even say what he knows."
"Ho," Eruhaben let out an interested chuckled. "It seems that your kid is on his rebellious phase." He crossed his arms.
"I've been spoiling him a lot lately, so when things goes out of his bidding, it's natural."
The golden dragon frowned at his brother's tone. Rather than actually sounding worried about his son's possible unruly puberty, he sounded proud and it didn't sit well with him.
Because his tone of voice is very much certain that Raziel will be following his footsteps during his own puberty phase a thousand years ago.
That's frustrating.
--boommmm!
--Swooooosh--
--Blaaheuejdjfkg!!!
(Background noises is back babeh!)
Hmm...
The sibling could hear the loud noises coming from the mountain. As they listened to it, they also felt a familiar mana, now stronger yet it was unstable in more than ways they could point out.
The rush of mana in one's body was pouring generously and tremendously as if the owner had infinite supply and the continuous noises had both decided to get out to see what's actually going on.
As soon as they did, from the sky the could see something flying. Although not as large the size of an adult dragon, it still looked intimidating as its wing spread wide into the air, the sun's silhouette hid its real color from their view.
Eruhaben could only gape speechless at the sight of that majestic little thing while Euclidean helplessly let out a laugh. Usually, the young man preferred staying in his human form when he learned the transformation magic and would sulk whenever his form gets back to that reptilian image. As he had fully mastered the transformation at two years old, he no longer changed back to being a dragon.
And occasionally, when he would travel different countries, there was only one reason Raziel would have unconsciously transformed into his original form. "Did this forest perhaps have an apple tree?" He asked.
"I think I passed by one about five years ago." Eruhaben replied with confusion.
"Aha." Euclidean let out an amused sigh. To think one mighty dragon would waver over an apple...
"Why did you ask such a thing?" The golden dragon asked.
"I suggest you uproot it."
"What?"
"Fascinating story: my son hates apples."
--BOOOOOOM!!!--
There was a loud explosion on the mountain. Although, the magic attack was directed to it, it hit precisely what it was aiming for without destroying anything else.
R. I. P. The poor apple tree...
"Hate? More like Loathe it." Eruhaben scoffed. Just who would detest such a harmless fruit?
(well, someone who actually choked and nearly died a few months later after his rebirth because of it...)
The fact that a nature loving boy would destroy an apple tree... never really ceased to amuse Euclidean.
--papa!
The red dragon telepathically called out Euclidean.
"Hmm?" The blue dragon hummed in response.
--I'm going away for a while! Tell uncle, nice to meet him and tell him to burn his apple trees!
"Okay." The older could only respond.
Hearing the response, Raziel's dragon form flew off as fast as it could.
Eruhaben looked at the smiling blue. "Why is he flying away?"
"He said if you want to die, take your apples with you, by the way."
"Oh, aren't you so bold as to rephrase your beloved son's words so wrongly?" Eruhaben glared at Euclidean.
Euclidean shrugged. "Since you're not dying yet, I'm going too."
"Then do tell my little nephew to come visit. I'll teach him what you don't know." He said.
The blue scoffed at his remark before getting off the mountain. But since the little brother did not say anything, Raziel, his nephew, will soon be knocking on his doorstep.
But for now, as the young boy is spooked by the appearance of an apple tree in mt. Yellia, Eruhaben should probably do an apple tree clean up in his mountain.
.
Daz all for today!
Ah... imagine Raon flaunting his soggy apple pies to his brother later~
Chapter 13: The Party Formation 00
Chapter Text
"Oh, look at you, Blackie. You're getting fatter! I like it!"
-Raziel
.
"You're that weird kid right?! The one who promised that I will be saved!"
-Raon
.
"You're sixteen...
I see, so I guess...
Two more years."
-???
Raziel flew towards Roan as soon as he got Euclidean's permission to flee mt. Yellia.
Although he wanted to talk more to Eruhaben about magic, there's no way he's staying in a place where he saw an apple for a while. Maybe he'll come visit when he gets over the apple incident and greet him properly.
However, for now, his curiosity was peaked towards the noble gathering where he was invited.
Right about now, Cale had surely managed to rescue Raon from that cave. His first main party is right about done. He got Ron, Beacrox, Hong, Ong, Choi Han, Raon, Rosaline, Lock and we should probably add Hilsman.
This people are his soon to be main force in the future and it will soon add up as he picked up more people wherever he goes.
And little did he know, the young redhead prince is going to be a part of that main force as he has a lot of time in his hands...
As he flew grand into the sky, Raziel heard a scream. The shriek instinctively had him gazing down only to realise that a village was underneath him. Looking up at the creature with incredible fear.
It seemed that he forgot to use invisibility magic due to his earlier circumstance and decided to just go on with it.
The young man proudly flapped his wings as he glides through the sky, piercing the clouds that was in his way until he was near the capital and landed to avoid too much panic further. He didn't want to repeat the history his father did.
He landed in a nearby forest and decided to continue his walk there towards the gate entrance, his clothes, being changed with commoner's and his hair dyed in brown so he could blend well.
As he didn't have a guard with him who usually does the trivial things such as booking an inn, buying his clothes or supplying necessities, he felt rather unamused at the current situation he was in after entering the capital.
Raziel isn't necessarily lazy when he was young. But as he grew, he seemed to have gotten used to relying on his personal guard (blame Euclidean for influencing him that Elves should do it) and they were the ones doing the talking for him because as they said: 'he should not waste his saliva on things as trivial as this. His mighty self should just rest and let his loyal subjects take care of it.'
So here he is, standing in front of an inn looking a bit confused as to how he was going to get a room.
He could actually go and visit Alberu now, but he didn't want to go to the palace unless it's already the allotted time for the invitation, he didn't want to overwelcome his stay even if the blonde prince and the king said he is welcome anytime. For the sake of formality, Raziel decided not to pester his friend early on.
He decided to just enter the inn. On this floor was actually a tavern where anyone could dine so the young man proceeded towards the counter. It was, as expected, packed with people who are drinking and eating even in the daytime so the staffs were busy running about and carrying trays off food.
Raziel sat on the stool quietly, waiting for a staff to approach him so he could ask for accommodation.
But few more minutes, he was blatantly ignored as if he was of irrelevance. Now it made the boy wonder... should he leave?
"Whatcha want boy?"
Oh, finally. Someone approached him.
The Raziel's delight, his lips lifted up. "I'd like to rent a room for one, please." He said.
His pleasing smile made the inn keeper pause. Although his hair was dyed in common colors, his face is definitely not changed. His green leafy eyes shined from the sun rays emitting out the window and his calm features pulling in between beautiful, cute and young.
It must have been because he was still young that his face was that fair and feminine, but it can make anyone sway.
"Ah, I'd like to order your special meals as well and a glass of milk." He said with a smooth and polite voice. He brought out a few golds which added to his shine. But those gold coins that blatantly laid on the table can actually book an entire floor worth of rooms.
He blinked twice, checking if he was just imagining seeing the sparkles that surrounded the boy. "A-hem. Alright." He turned towards the kitchen area to tell the order before checking through the keys and gave him one of his best. "Room's on the fourth floor." He said, the boy nodded in response.
Soon, the lady waitress placed down a few dishes on the table. They were big meals, enough for hungry travelers and workers to finish.
The boy looked at the meal in delight. He didn't eat anything the entire day of his travel. He was only able to drink some tea so he's completely drained.
At least seeing the meat in front of him helped his deflated self to restore at least enough energy.
Taking a fork and knife, he ate like any normal person would. His silverware stabbed into the steak while both the waitress and the inn keeper watched intently.
Since this kid screams nobility all over him, they needed a positive reaction!
They swallowed as he placed a bitesized meat on his mouth. He chewed on it carefully, feeling the tender meat until his lips raised up again and looked at the inn keeper. "It's actually good."
"Hey kid, do you know how much a rent in one room is?" The inn keeper reluctantly asked as he watch him eat.
Raziel hummed. "No, I don't. It's my first time doing it myself." He replied. "Why? Is that not enough? Here." Upon his words a small satchel consisting thirty coins (Raon's thirty days allowance/salary) on the table once again.
"No, no kid. You actually gave too much." He replied.
Oh... he's actually kind.
Raziel mentally praised the old man. He smiled at him again. "It's okay. You can keep it." He said.
He has a lot in his spatial bag.
"You sure?" The old man frowned suspiciously.
"Yeah. I don't need it anyway." He munched his food again, happily indulging the savory meat.
"Don't need it? Kid, don't you know how harsh it is out there. Everything needs money now." The old man lectured him.
He only chuckled. "Of course." When he was two years old, he needed enough mana to take down thugs as he was sent to train his magic. He didn't value money as much as he valued nature(except apples). "Just keep it."
He's going to stay there for two days. In two days, his personal guard will come and find him and they will surely prepare for Raziel's incoming visit to the palace. It's going to be pretty busy so he decided to rest.
Finishing a hearty meal, he stood up and excused himself to the innkeeper before skipping his way towards the stairs. His dyed brown hair bounced softly as he climbed the stairs like an excited teen.
But the gold he bluntly placed on the table was noticed.
Just upon his entrance, the young man was oblivious of the eyes that followed him through the door towards the counter and quietly sat there until he was asked.
Sign #1: a teen being ignorant of what to do in an inn and currency of money.
Then he talked to the innkeeper with a smile, placing the golds for everyone to see.
Sign #2: Rich.
Soon as he did, he ordered meals and ate with all necessary table manners despite the lack of tableware. Even then, he still looked quite elegant.
Sign #3: He is sheltered.
They also checked his physique. He wasn't lean, he is pale, his features were very feminine and he is small.
Sign #4: He is weak.
Sign #5: He is also alone.
Sign #6: He is very tame.
And last but not least Sign #7: He is very beautiful. Crafted perfectly like a small saint.
Checking their mental checklist, it seemed that they found a perfect victim to earn some good cash.
Nodding to each other those three men stood and approached the innkeeper. "We're booking a room on the fourth floor." Their leader-like representative, said. His face was covered in hood so no one can recognize them.
The unsuspecting innkeeper sighed and grabbed the keys as the men paid. Fourth floor was the highest floor in the inn. It also has a good view so it's no question why they liked the area.
The three left after that.
Unknown of what was bound to pay them later on.

.
The black dragon's wings twitched.
They were currently locating mana bombs in the premise when he felt something magnanimous.
It was a really strong mana but was suppressed greatly for some reason. But no matter how hidden it was, he could tell with certainty. It's familiar genteel and warmth that he could never ever forget after years.
The same scent that he sensed whenever he's near for the passed 4 years so he couldn't really mistake it for anyone else's.
He looked around and scanned the area to pinpoint the mana's origin and started flying around. His blue eyes covered in invisible magic was scanning the premise with hope.
However, he stopped, sensing another presence with mana. It was a mana bomb!
The young dragon slowly looked at Choi Han's direction then towards the mana of that person. But as this is an urgent request from the weak human who rescued him, he turned around again and raced towards Choi Han to tell him about what he found.

The next day, Raziel came down his room to eat breakfast.
The innkeeper gave him new menus to try in which he praised them with all honesty.
Meanwhile, three men watched him from the sidelines, trying to observe his average schedule, pretending to be normal costumers with their cloaks down but would steal glances at the boy who is now geared with a book in hand, quietly sat in the end of the counter. His eyes covered in a pair of glasses in gold frames that made him looked more like a scholar.
Raziel was currently looking through his herbal research. The plants he learned and plants that he discovered are being laid in front of him as he see through which were similar so he could class the herbs altogether.
Since he was bored, the young man decided to just study. After all, in his previous life he could go on three days straight flipping pages of books before collapsing. That's just how it is and it amazed him that his pale, unhealthy, thin and anemic body could handle that much.
So going back, Raziel stayed still. He did nothing but read, ignoring unnecessary noises and focused his eyes on the main topic.
He did nothing the entire day but sit there until a glass of milk was placed to his side that finally took him back to reality.
His eyes went to the glass of milk, then to the innkeeper who placed it there.
"Kids like you should take a break, you know." He said grumpily.
Raziel gratefully smiled. "Thank you. Also, I'm not a kid, I'm a teen." He replied.
"You're kidding." He laughed. "You look like a kid."
"I'm sixteen." Raziel revealed his age.
"Well, doesn't look like one."
"My growth spurt has yet to react." The young man took the glass of milk and sipped. "I am simply a late bloomer so I'd look my age soon."
"It's not about waiting kid, it's about working out. Ya'know I got these muscles because I lift ten sacks of each grain and meat everyday." He proudly lifted his bulky muscle chest.
Raziel hummed. I tried lifting some weights... but with magic.
I tried lifting boxes with my strength but the elves forbid me to do the heavy lifting.
Okay... I guess I lack exercise.
With a disappointed sigh over his petite figure that looked very much like twigs, he agreed with the innkeeper's insights. But it doesn't mean he'll change his lazy ways since someone can do it for him.
Besides, he is busy with his research. He didn't have the time to do such heavy lifting anymore.

Chapter Text
On Raziel's second day, he was on the counter again.
His routine book reading continued as he waited for his personal guards to come. His nose stuck on the book now with his trusty quail pen and ink prepared by his side.
He was now planning to create proper medicine. He is once again starting from scratch as they never really had herbs to use as medicine in his time period. Only those laser beams that can numb ones pain and the cell restoration machines that can revive or eliminate cells in the body.
But none of those are as useful as this. The machines cannot even cure a simple cough.
Writing formulas, the boy tried to weight estimations for how much he'd use from one plant to another. He's going to try them later on, but for now, where the hell was his personal guard?
The young man lifted his head trying to sense if the guard is already here without his notice. But unfortunately, none was there.
He looked back down to his sheets while earning a curious glance at the innkeeper who did not understood the young one's formulas.
For him, it looked like scribbles. But seeing as Raziel was too focused on it, he couldn't help but think that it was no ordinary letters.
"What are you doing now?" Mariam, one of the inn's waitress placed a hand on her waist as she peeked through the redhead's--who's hair is now dyed brown-- shoulder and saw the foreign letters.
Hearing her question, Raziel brightened up. He cannot refuse queries about his theoretical analysis and hypothesis. "I'm formulating some medicine." He replied.
"And how would those scribbles help?" Mariam raised her eyebrow.
"Ah!" The boy snapped as though he had just realised. "My father taught it to me. It's easier to calculate like this." He explained through the equations that he showed.
"Is that so? Where are you from, kiddo?" She asked.
"I'm from Dorma." He replied.
"And why did you decide to come in such a busy capital in Roan alone?"
"Oh, I'm attending my friend's party." He explained. "He invited me so I came."
"What a nice friend you are. But you shouldn't go alone. Did your parents allowed you?"
"Mhmm" Raziel hummed in agreement. "I'm old enough anyway so dad always allowed me." With a personal guard, but not the point.
The man looked at him not convinced with his explanation. Just what kind of father allows his kid to travel from Dorma to Roan alone? He wondered.
When Raziel finished up with his first medicinal hypothesis, he closed his notes and removed his glasses before pinching the bridge of his nose. The slight daze hit him when he removed his eyeglasses but it adjusted after.
In the middle of his long awaited rest, the young man began to feel a strong mana approaching. A mana he felt the other day but soon dispersed. He sensed it for a while, tracing what it was doing as it moved around like it was in search of something.
On his search, another humanly strong mana was following as well. It seemed to be a strong mage... but not enough to threaten him, the same as the mana that was moving around.
It was getting closer and closer until the tavern door slammed open with no one pushing it.
Ackk--!
Before Raziel knew it he felt a strong pressure hit his stomach. The pain wasn't really too much but it was strong enough to push him down and get knocked on the floor.
"Ouch." He selflessly muttered as he felt something weighed to his lap and stomach.
The door opened again, revealing a familiar black hair and eyes in black covers, trailing behind the man was a woman with red hair followed by an old man with the formal butler uniform in benign smile and the last to enter was a male with red hair.
...oh...
They all scanned the room until their eyes darted to the young man who fell on the floor.
--You're that weird kid right?! The one who promised that I will be saved?!
Raon spoke through his mind which surprised the young man. He touched it just as gently when he held it before that even the black dragon would not forget.
Yes, it was really him!
"Hey, kiddo. What happened to ya? Studied too much?" The innkeeper peeked through the other side of the counter as he noticed the boy fell.
Mariam was also worried as he helped him back up to his feet.
Raziel smiled at them. "I'm okay." He said while holding on to the black dragon's invisible back.
After Mariam checked her properly, she left and it was the group's cue to approach him.
"Excuse me." It was the old butler who spoke when they were face to face. His benign smile hinted recognition to the boy when he saw the green beautiful eyes. He knew that only one person can make himself shine even in the gloomiest part of the planet. With certainty, it was this boy.
Raziel smiled as well in a welcoming gesture. "Ah, Ron. It's been a while!" He greeted, earning quite an unexpected look from the group.
"So it seems, young lord." He replied.
Looking as Raziel had disguised himself with dyed brown hair, it seemed that he was trying to avoid being recognized as the 'red saint' or 'the prince' so he lowered it a bit.
The boy looked pleased with Ron's sharp perspective. It seemed that he knew him well despite only seeing him four times.
"Oh, Cale-hyung is here as well." The boy said as he peeked behind Ron's, pretending to have only noticed.
Cale, the redhead like him frowned. A completely different Cale Henituse from the one he met before.
"Ah, shall we speak to my room over some tea?" He invited.
As the group agreed, Raziel placed the invisible black dragon beside the table and collected his books and notes and placed them to his spatial bag before carrying Raon again.
"Mr. Innkeeper, I'm going back to my room." Raziel beamed at him and the said man only nodded back at him.
The group followed him.
Meanwhile, Kim Rok Soo was a bit surprised as the boy knew who Ron is... ron who never left the Henituse estate and had called him out as well. Did he miss something in the novel? Did Cale ever had friends?
When he noticed the books in front of him belonging to that kid, he wondered if he was actually a scholar.
So he kept quiet through the entire entry and observed. The same with Choi Han and Rosaline who came with him.
When they reached the room, Ron stopped at the door and bowed his head again. "Pardon the discourtsey your Highness, this Ron shall stay outside and prepare some tea." He excused himself.
The door closed and only five of them were left in the room. Raon finally showed his form which showed a healthy little black dragon in front of him.
Raziel smiled again in satisfaction of seeing him okay, snuggled on his stomach so adorably while he stroke his back.
Now I know why Euclidean likes to carry me around...
Meanwhile, three more pair of eyes finally got over after Ron had dropped the bomb and called him 'your highness' before leaving.
Finally giving them notice, Raziel smiled at them again. "It's been a while Cale-hyung, I feel bad not being able to visit often." He said.
Cale's frown did not disappear as he looked at the younger with brown hair and green eyes. He never really knew he had a prince friend so it was still confusing him to no end. But he replied anyways.
"Yes, it's been quite a while." He said politely.
And this young man called him hyung. Are they that close?
"Hey, weird kid. Why is your hair dyed?" The black dragon who will be named Raon in the future asked.
Raziel hummed. "I'm blending in." He replied, stroking its circular soft head. But in a matter of seconds, finally undid his dye magic. His hair slowly faded and turned back to red.
Although it's only the hair that changed, it actually felt like a huge impact. The brown hair suited him, but the red hair just made everything about him feel perfect. As if those red locks was what made him what he is for some reason.
Rosalyn gasped. "I don't wish to be rude your highness, but may I know your name?" She asked, although they were bearing the same status, she bowed for the sake of respect as she is now pretending to be a travelling mage.
"I'm the crown prince of Dorma, Raziel Rory Acheros. It's nice to meet you." He formally introduced. He couldn't stand as Raon was still snuggling in his lap...
is this Raon's instinctive brotherly bond by blood showing?
"How did you know about the dragon?" Cale suddenly asked, his eyes obviously suspicious.
The green eyed redhead's lips lifted. "Well, I found him four years ago, hyung." He replied.
There was a strange silence that surrounded the group after he said that. They only stared at each other. While Raziel could tell the harsh look that came from Choi Han who seemed to be asking why the prince had not saved the dragon if he had known, he couldn't tell what Cale was thinking.
It only broke when Ron had knocked and entered the room whereas Raon went back to his invisible form.
"I can't save blackie because of the magic restraints all over the place." The boy explained, taking the cup of tea(not lemon tea) and sipped. "And I cannot carelessly take my soldiers to Roan towards a noble's territory without any valid reason and formality to the royal family. It will cause mistrust and I wouldn't like it if this country gets destroyed as two of my friends lives here."
Well, it's actually not the real reason. It's simply because Cale was the perfect parent for Raon so he decided not to take him.
But nonetheless, they could not believe what he said. 'That if a war breaks out between their country, Roan will certainly be destroyed.'. It didn't sound like he was boasting their military prowess, but his words just now was traced with viciousness.
"So I decided that I'll watch over him outside. No matter how close I am to destroying such tainted piece of land." He smiled again. The innocent face and smile that spouted the vicious words.
"I see." Cale also took a sip of his tea.
"Are you a mage?" Rosalyn suddenly asked in which the boy turned to and smiled. "If I may be bold to ask, there's been rumours that's spreading around the continent about your father being a dragon. Could I get your confirmation on this, your highness." From that question, Cale felt even more afraid than before.
"Well that's--"
--blag!!!--
The noise of something crashing onto the hallway cut his sentence. Everyone turned to the door in which it stopped and without knocking, the door was destroyed open.
On the floor lays the innkeeper who looked beaten and around him were numbers of men. Four can be seen at the door, but they weren't sure how many were outside.
The innkeeper who weakly collapsed on the corridor looked towards the door trying to search for Raziel until a familiar youngster the same green eyes made him realise that he was merely wearing a disguise.
"Kiddo, r--un--" he lost consciousness as soon as he was mercilessly kicked on the head.
"We've been waiting for this." The leader-like man smirked, popping the joints of his finger. "Hey, hand over that kid if you still want your heads." He pointed over Raziel, licking his lips that as disgusting as it may sound, lustfully eyed the teen as well.
The room went into a gloomy silence because of his impudent actions. Raziel who was sitting down because Raon was still there just stared at the man blankly.
"They said a cutie new slave will be here and they didn't seem to be wrong." He snickered with glee. His lascivious eyes checking out the boy from head to toe. "Perfect. Just perfect."
"Ho..." Cale scoffed as soon as he heard this. No matter how many people they have in store outside, it doesn't really make a difference.
Because they have a black dragon, the strongest mage, strongest sword master and an assassin.
So entering this room filled with the most dangerous people, is already a mistake...
Chapter 15: The Party Formation 02
Chapter Text
It was... interesting.
Raziel, who has experienced this kind of things since young never thought that once again, he's going to see scums like these.
"Ah, my friend will be upset knowing something like this is happening in his turf." Raziel sipped his tea once more, unbothered by the number of people blocking his door.
Because like Cale, he is confident in the ability of these people with him.
"Hah. Brat. Why don't you stand up and come here?" He smirked. "Or maybe your little company should step aside. After all, this room looks nice for us to share. Heh."
Choi Han at that moment, held his sword. Veins beginning to pop out of his neck as he glared at the trouble makers, gritting his teeth and clenching his jaw.
"How rude." Ron spoke, his benign smile showing, hinting a more threatening air around his old self. "To say such a thing in front of children."
"Right, Ron?" Raziel agreed. The younger's innocent smile did not falter as he spoke with a relaxed and calm demeanor while sipping his tea despite the arising chaos. "Anyway. What is this person trying to tell me?"
"Your highness, I think it's too inappropriate for this old man to rephrase his blasphemous word." Ron explained.
"Is that so?" He placed his teacup down while the others watched. "Hearing you say it like that, it seems that he is insulting my very being." The invisible Raon flew off his lap to observed the people who are saying immoral and inappropriate words to his protector, making way for Raziel to stand up.
--weird kid! Do you want me to kill them?
Raon asked through his mind which the redhead prince shook his head so Raon remained watching in the ceiling.
The men frowned at how calm this kid was and how his hair had changed red. Truly, it was a wonder why he's acting tough.
Feeling odd about the situation, all the man wanted was to leave right away. "Tch. Men. Get the brat." With weapons a big bodies to intimidate the people inside the room, they confidently stepped inside the door. Rosalyn and Choi Han prepared themselves only to hear the redhead prince spoke once more.
"I developed a medicine recently." He started. He smiled with excitement as he looked through his spatial bag for an item. "Or more like, a hallucinogenic drug that can knock someone out for an entire year depending on one's dosage. I should probably try if it works on--"
When the last man fell into his feet, Raziel had stopped mumbling or searching through his items and saw that everyone were knocked out.
"Eh?"
"Your highness, forgive my tardiness." Theodore, the youngest of the elite knights of Dorma and Raziel's personal guard had appeared in front if him, clasping his hands together and knelt down. Although his face was serious, his eyes obviously held admiration to the green eyed redhead.
"Theodore, why are you early?" The boy asked instead.
With this question, the elf looked at him surprised.
"Forgive me for being early!" He changed what he was apologising for making the group turned to him just as confused.
Unknown what to do with that situation, Raziel let out a sigh. "It's okay. I think we'll just get another test subject."
"Then I'll see to it that you'll have the best but undeserving test subject."
Doesn't that make me sound like some evil scientist and this is my gullible left hand assistant? Well, I am an evil scientist in my previous life... I made weapons for war and sold them, after all.
"Theodore, there is something even better that you could do for me." The boy tapped his guard's shoulder.
The elf looked up with admiration. Hands still clasped together(I'm suddenly reminded of Clopeh). "Anything your highness." He said.
The scene before them was so unusual and it made Cale wonder. An elite knight elf, bowing to a prince like he was his salvation. This was never mentioned in the story at all.
"Then Theodore, never ever tell what happened to father." He said.
"But if his majesty ask, I cannot lie to him." The guard seemed to be torn in his loyalty. And of course, no elf can lie to Euclidean because they knew how fatal that can be.
"Theodore~ for the sake of this country, you must keep this event to him. You can report anything except this one." The redhead said.
For the sake... of this country? The elf looked at him with pure conviction and admiration. With every elven blood running through his veins and his future children to come, he will pass along such heart touching moment and words of wisdom as he looked up to the dragon master he serves.
Green eyes sparkled like rare gems and red hair shined lighter almost like fire. The scene before him was so beautiful and bright that he wanted to faint, ready to be stepped on.
"Anyways, clean those guys up. Tell the officials that they dared cause havoc in an inn and not only had he threaten a redhead noble but attempted to kidnap him." He said. Since there are three redheads in this room, everyone would most likely think that it was Cale or the crown princess Rosalyn. It's as if Raziel was passing the baton of trouble to one of them.
Just as soon as he said that, more elven knights appeared by the door. Around six of them were there, carrying the bodies away as if they had been there on stand by.
Raziel frowned. Just how many knights did Euclidean sent to him? As soon as they were taken, only the innkeeper was left on the floor slowly regaining back his consciousness.
His eyes quickly scanned the corridor worried until he saw the approaching redhead kid which awoken his senses and sat up. "Kid... What happened?" He asked while the redhead helped him up.
"Are you okay mr. Innkeeper?" Raziel asked.
"Yeah--"
"Here." The boy placed a circular pill on the old man's mouth that he had unconsciously swallowed.
"Wh-what is that?!" He asked shocked.
"What I gave you is a painkiller I'm recently working on." The boy said with a proud smile.
The personal guard elf nodded his head with a proud smile as well, but the smile clearly states that: "be honoured to be the first tester of my prince's medicine."
"How does it feel?" The red dragon curiously asked, observing the old man's reaction.
"Well it feels... hm." He frowned as he touched his waist which actually hurts earlier but now felt relieved and free. Even his body aches from when he was beaten weren't painful anymore. "I actually feel better. Hey kid, is that a healing potion?" He made a rotating motion on his arm that didn't even hurt.
"No, it's a pain reliever. It's just going to temporarily numb what ails you but it's still there." The boy explained. "If you want something for your joints, I have one here, underdevelopment." He raised a bottle filled with green circular pills. "Would you like to be the first to try?"
Raziel was extremely excited about this and forgot that four special characters in the novel were watching him with odd expressions as they were ignored in the scene.
"Underdeveloped? What am I, your Guinea pig?" The innkeeper asked in disbelief seeing as how nonchalant the boy was about it.
"I tried it to an old horse and it works so you're the first human." The boy still hadn't lost the saint-y smile while looking at him as if he was the kindest child in the world, but opposite to his angelic face is the fact that he was handing him a doubtful medicine that was only tried on to animals.
The innkeeper sighed. "I can't put something uncertain in my mouth even if you looked kind of trustworthy right now." He said.
"But you ate the pain relieving pill."
More like he was forced to swallow it because a certain someone shoved it to his mouth... everyone in the room thought while looking at the innocent looking kid.
"Well, fine~ I guess I'll just send you one when they're done." The boy sighed. "Theodore, compensate mr. Innkeeper for the broken door, mess and his medical fees."
As the elf knight nodded, he suddenly carried the innkeeper, who tried to struggle from shock, away. Probably to take him to the hospital and give him some stock of gold he's usually carrying with him.
The boy turned around again to face his previous visitors. "Now that that's settled, shall we continue with our previous topic." He said and sat back to his chair where the invisible Raon came landing on his lap comfortably again.
"Those pills..." Choi Han murmured.
Raziel looked back to his hand which was carrying said Underdeveloped pills. "I'm wandering the continent because I'm very much interested in botany. I study herbs to create the most effective medicine. Well, we do have healing potions, but after the incident with blackie, it's better to have a spare that actually works when none can use magic." He explained.
Because of the magic restrains on Raon, he could not use the healing potion nor perform healing magic. So to ease his pain, Raziel studied and made the most effective medicine to ease his gashes back then.
"Ah, may I know the names of Cale-hyung's acquaintances?" Raziel suddenly realized as he looked at the two strongest people who were sitting on the sofa.
"Oh, forgive our lack of tack." Rosalyn spoke. "My name is Rosalyn."
She turned to the raven haired male who gave a slight bow in front of the red dragon. "I am Choi Han."
Raziel smiled to them. "No need for formalities."
"We cannot, your highness." Rosalyn said.
The youngest redhead looked at her with a sigh. "I am a boy with ten billion gold bounty on my head." He said.
Choi Han and Rosalyn blinked at his confession. "W-what happened, your highness. Why would you have such an amount on your head?" The redhead lady asked.
Ron only smiled. It was the same tactics that the prince used to make sure that the puppy young master of his' would be a worthy friend.
"My father destroyed two kingdoms. It's natural that we have a bounty."
The air was silent. Unknown of how they'll react at this point until Raon spoke through telepathy.
--Your father is amazing, weird kid. But why only two? Won't he just destroy the world?
Is what he said making the three who shared the communications with Raziel to frown from the vicious words.
But Raziel simply chuckled. "It's hard to stop him from doing so since it's his only form of entertainment... as you can see, he doesn't care about human laws."
"Then it's indeed true that he's a dragon." Rosalyn gasped.
Cale paused from his thoughts after processing this entire conversation. His eyes went to the most dangerous person right now in this room: Raziel.
Son of a dragon?
The novel also did not mention such a munchkin. But since he's only reached volume five, he couldn't be too sure if this kid really didn't appear in the future volumes.
"Then that means..." they looked at him seriously.
Raziel waved his hands. "I'm his adopted son. He said I was offered like an apple in his cave when I was a day old." He explained.
Automatically, their eyes settled to his red hair which was a little lighter due to the sunlight peeking through the windows.
"I'm a mage." He said with a smile. "And a researcher."
"I... I see..." there was still a look of doubt in Rosalyn's eyes as she thought deep. She cannot be mistaken. Mana can't lie. And if someone equally strong as the black dragon or stronger than his', then it isn't someone as simple as a mage.
"So, do you want my ten billion bounty?" The boy went back to his previous topic.
The two looked back at the little apple surprised. "We wouldn't do such a thing. Especially knowing that you're acquainted to the young master Cale who's been helping us." Rosalyn said seriously. "And we wouldn't stoop so low as to exchange life for any amount."
Choi Han had nodded to this a couple of times with the same serious expressions.
Raziel and Ron smiled.
Guess main characters are main characters. They have hearts of gold.
Meanwhile, Cale was thinking deeply about this current situation in which holds a matter of his life or death if he ever offended a dragon's kid.
Raziel's eyes glinted with enthusiasm as he said his passion to the innkeeper that time. He seemed to be livelier when he showed the pills as if it was his pride and it seemed that it really is.
Kim Rok Soo remained quiet as he watched the original Cale's friend lift his lips to form a smile and spoke gently that it sounded soothing because of his calm voice. He doesn't raise his voice unnecessarily and he seemed to be friendly and talkative than he had anticipated.
No wonder he even managed to befriended a trash and get a respect from an old butler assassin.
While thinking, he had not noticed Raziel's stare at him which he had just returned with a confused one as they stared at one another.
"You've become really quiet." The boy spoke. "You used to nag me a lot and tell me not to wander around too much since I'm still a kid when we were younger." At this point, Raziel was secretly giving him a clue of how long he and Cale had been friends to let Kim Rok Soo who is currently possessing the body to get a rough idea of how their friendship went.
"You're grown up now, your highness." Cale replied with his lips lifted up, pretending that he did know to at least have more clue. "When was the last time you visited me anyway? Of course I'll change quite a bit."
The redhead prince internally applauded him. "Guess you're right, Cale-hyung. It's been two years..." he said thoughtfully. Then he suddenly chuckled at a sudden funny memory of the drunk trash Cale who dragged him to a bar one day despite his father trying to stop him, but as Raziel permitted it and Deruth having no other choice.
Cale drank a lot that time even if his friend was there and said. "You know what, Razi? You're still so small it's hard to tell that you're 13(Raziel's 3rd time visiting Cale). And you're kind of pretty too, are you a girl?"
Well, Cale was so drunk so Raziel preferred to stay quiet and listen to him ranting more about how he will live his life.
Standing up Raziel carried the invisible dragon and approached Cale and made his face closer. The closeness was very much like he's about to be kissed but Raziel stayed in that position for quite a while with a smile.
"What is it, your highness?" Cale asked.
"It appears to me that you've also grown up. You don't smell like wine today."
"I just woke up, your highness. I didn't have time to drink."
"And you've been calling me your highness a lot. Where's that hyung of mine who calls me Razi ever so affectionately, hmm~"
Kim Rok Soo frowned once again. Did this kid noticed? Does he know that he wasn't the real Cale Henituse? He couldn't tell as the smile being given to him gave nothing away of his intention.
"Come on, call me that."
--Can I call you that too, weird kid?
Raon suddenly asked.
"Blackie can call me that." He agreed.
--Razi.
Man, that was cute. Raziel mentally clenched his heart as he heard the young dragon said his nickname.
Is this how it feels when you hear your baby brother call your name for the first time? He thought.
"So Cale-hyung, where's my nickname?" He demanded.
Just to get this over with, Cale sighed in defeat. "Yes, Razi." His hand, as if having a memory of its own, automatically reached out for the boy's head and ruffled his hair. It surprised Cale as the sensation gave him a feeling when he petted Raon one time.
"Since you're here, I pondered that you must be attending the noble gathering."
"That's right... Razi." Cale responded, retracting his hand away.
The boy looked delighted. "That's great." He hummed. He lowered his head closer to the older's ear still gracing him with his smile and whispered. "When you're done avenging blackie from Venion Stan, I hope you won't be searching for him at a later date." He said, handing over the invisible weight which is Raon.
"What do you mean?" The older redhead frowned.
"Ah, I'm planning to gift him to my father." The boy explained and stood back up straight.
Just when Cale was about to ask further, the Elf guard once again appeared to the prince's side and knelt down.
"Your highness, the carriage is ready." Theodore said.
"How's mr. Innkeeper?" He asked.
"We've compensated the human."
"Good. Then..." he turned to Cale squad and smiled. "I guess I'll see you all again." with the parting farewell, Raziel began to walk out the room. His walk, regal that none could not help but stare at his leaving figure.
Cale can finally breathe after that. He had finally calmed down when the presence had gotten far. Just how did the original Cale know such a person?
Chapter 16: The Party Formation 03
Chapter Text
White suit.
As much as how Raziel felt uncomfortable with that layers of clothing, he had to for the sake of formality and would look at least like a decent prince who's visiting his friend.
As the cravat was finally locked into his neck, the young man turned towards the mirror to check himself. It really never occured to him that he will be blessed with an appearance like this. Although, he can say so himself that he was quite good-looking in his past life it just doesn't compare to this appearance.
Almost everyone in their palace in Dorma are beautiful creatures because they are elves, so sometimes, Raziel forgets that there are more people who are average looking than how elves features looks.
Pulling his cravat lightly to give him some space to breathe, he was satisfied. He wore a white buttoned up and collared long sleeved shirt tucked in white slacks and white shoes outlined with gold, atop his shirt was a light blue vest embroidered with darker blue vines finally topped with white waistcoat that reached his knee.
White always made him look like an 'angel', they say. But for Raziel, it's pretty inconvenient as white fabric gets stained easily so he had to stay away from his herbal hobbies for the whole duration of the event.
After the preparations, he decided to sit for a while. He didn't want to come early and preffered it if everyone is complete so he'd rather be late than wait.
Having a short moment for tea time in the luxurious inn they transferred from, Raziel was finally called out by his elf guard that the time he set has come so he decided to end his leisurely moment there and walked out. The carriage was prepared from the entrance taking more than one person's attention as the finely red haired prince came out from the inn. He had a small smile on his lips as he appeared which made his harmonious angel like appearance take all the morning's glory which outshines even the sunlight itself.
Aligned in front were gorgeous elf guards as well. Equally distributed on either side of the open carriage as the boy passed them and entered. The door soon closed and so the travel towards the palace began.
The attention seeking sight all the way to the palace happened for fifteen minutes it felt like a festival just occurred but soon it died down and the young man was able to reach the area where the event was taken place.
Being welcomed to Roan's castle with a welcoming atmosphere has become so normal for the soldiers that one looked at the carriage's crest or the person made them all tense.
The event that happened eleven years ago will never be forgotten in the capital and will forever be engraved to the hearts of those who witnessed it whether it's fear, horror or amazement.
The fact that a dragon visiting Roan is already written in the country's history and is being taught by nobility of how 'they must not go against Dorma and keep the country as ally and friend' which meant: one wrong move to offend Dorma's king and Roan will be gone in the face of the earth.
So when that carriage appeared right by the castle entrance, the guards are either nervous or afraid when it finally stopped on the front making the few guards to gather aline to the entrance's path to welcome him.
With the door opening, Raziel couldn't help but feel bad even now. Roan soldiers must have been traumatized after Euclidean's visit but it was good that nobody died.
With the smile on his face, he greeted the soldiers and walked forth not looking back as he entered the palace. On his way, he can see two individual also making their way in. One in a wheelchair and the other behind the wheelchair and pushing it forward.
The familiar individual made the redhead smile as he approached them. "You seem to be late on the banquet." The boy started, making the female who was pushing the wheelchair made an abrupt pause to look at the young man who spoke.
"Ah, we sure are late." Next one to speak was the man on the wheelchair. He gave the younger a smile when he saw the hair that reminded him of the same red haired individual who helped them get through the capital.
Raziel nods. To think he'd be able to catch up to Taylor and Cage's dramatic entrance. This is quite fun...
However, Cage seemed to be in daze as she frowned and looked back to the angelic smiling youngster. Her eyes were shaking, shocked and unsettled as the god of death began to speak to her head.
"Huh?" She muttered. Her eyes making its way to the redhead once again and even more so, confused.
Raziel tilted his head when Cage was acting strange.
"You are also late for the banquet." Taylor suddenly spoke again.
The younger could only laugh. "I'll be scolded. But it's alright."
"I see. You look like an angel." As if a spur of the moment, the blonde man on the wheelchair suddenly said. But soon realizing his sudden compliment made him pause. "Forgive me, that was rude of me to spout."
"It's quite alright." Raziel consoled him. "I'm quite used to it, but thank you." He replied.
"The god of death told me that you knew him already." Cage's statement made both males stopped.
Their smiles faded as soon as the excommunicated priestess said that ending up with a 'huh?'.
"The god of death told me to say hi. And thank your father 'sarcastically' for the miserable souls that kept coming to his keep for the passed one thousand and twenty years." She said with an embarrassed expression.
Raziel sheepishly scratched the back of his neck and gave a laugh. "Tell the god of death that I apologise for my dad's behalf."
"The god of death is thanking you for convincing you father so the death toll that your father caused... became half its usual?"
"Ahaha..." this was really awkward. Raziel was mentally embarrassed in stead of his father. "We should probably go to the hall now. I'll relay more apologies to the god of death later on." He said, tapping Cage's shoulder.
"I-I see..." even Cage was feeling awkward about the situation and Taylor was a bit confused as to why this angel-like boy's father is being watched by the god of death himself.
His puzzled expression was only responded by an innocent smile by Raziel as the wheelchair was once again pushed forward.
Upon reaching the specified location called palace of Joy, the man on the entrance quickly jumped on his feet and bowed to the red haired prince. "Welcome your highness. I shall announce your entry." He cleared his throat while Raziel nodded at him with his unfaltering smile. Taylor and Cage were once again surprised by the boy's identity.
The fact that he isn't a prince of Roan is already a given. Considering that he did not have the traits of Roan's royalty but he did look very regal so they knew he is going to be an outstanding person that even the two of them were quite invisible right now.
"Would you guys wants to be announced as well?" Raziel asked the two.
Taylor politely shook his head and smiled. The redhead already understood and let the surprise be a surprise as he signalled the man on the door.
"His highness, Raziel Rory Acheros of Dorma Kingdom is entering!" With his voice resonating all over the four corners of the wide hall, the door opened for the said prince allowing his entrance.
All eyes darted into the boy who hadn't even debuted yet but is already a well known figure in different countries ever since he was young.
Red hair fluttered atop him as he began to enter. Gasps and unconscious admiration were heard.
The beautiful red dragon finally filled all noble curiosities that day. Following behind him was also another talk of controversy as the eldest son of Marquis Stan appeared being pushed by the excommunicated priestess of the god of death.
"Raz, you're late." Alberu said but with a welcoming smile as he stood up to greet the prince of the neighbouring kingdom.
"Apologies hyung. I'm enjoying myself too much outside." He admitted.
"I see. As much as that sounds nice that you like this country, your father might really take over Roan if you keep saying that." He joked and as soon as he reached the younger redhead he tapped his back before putting one arm around his shoulders.
As soon as Raziel realized this and awkwardly laughed. "Sorry, hyung." The lingering remnants of that unforgettable past kept on making him feel guilty.
Then their eyes went towards the eldest son of Stan household in which Venion seemed to have been looking at with a shock expression on his paled face.
Taylor gave his formal greeting while Alberu could be any more glad and accepted the crippled man into his banquet and assigned him to sit with the southeastern nobles who sat near the door.
Cale could be any more annoyed and Raziel could only chuckle at his redhead hyung's unwanted expression.
Alberu sighed and lead Raziel to his seat which was two steps higher than the rest. He, who likes reminding others of his standing as the crown prince is often meticulous on every detail which now entails the reasons for this very arrangement. And since Raziel himself shared the same status was welcomed with open arms in Alberu's side.
The young redhead toured his eyes around and soon, reptilian eyes met the familiar person he could never forget. Venion Stan who's eyes locked with him. Raziel only smiled at him, hiding the ugly hatred he's currently feeling.
All but hidden in that kind smile, Venion didn't feel the killing intent he was suppressing and smiled back with a respectful bow. Thinking that it would be a good opportunity to look good in front of royalties to solidify his succession in the Marquis state.
Oh he was so wrong.
"So, he is that rumoured prince..."
"He must be."
In the middle of the meal, Cale sipped through his glass of water and listened to the northeast nobles who shared the same table as him began to murmur about the appearance of a certain red haired prince.
The young master simply patted the black dragon's head while sneaking food every now and then under his table. With Raziel helping him take other's attention from that table, feeding the black dragon is a breeze.
Raziel was glad that Raon seemed to be eating well.
That's it, get fatter you adorable being. Eat to your fill and be greater and mightier.
Cale could feel the gaze from a mile away. He can tell that Raziel was looking at him and when he turned back to look at the younger redhead sitting beside the prince, he was given a bright smile.
Now the young master wondered how much he spent to always have those sparkling background surrounding him. But he did look like an angel whenever he smiles brightly.
"Raz, you should eat more." Alberu spoke beside him who was hovering a fork stabbed with a bit sized meat in front of the younger.
Raziel turned to it and opened his mouth. "Ahh..." seeing as he did, Alberu fed him with the steak he sliced and gave a smile of satisfaction. He watched him munched the food with a bright expression on his face, his soft cheeks were puffed that it was almost tempting to poke.
"So, what do you think of the nobles so far?" Alberu asked as he turned to the muttering nobles of different territories.
Raziel looked at them as well. "They're particularly divided. Cale-hyung's chair is also extremely far." He replied picking up some finger foods and ate a piece.
"Cale-hyung?" Alberu frowned.
"Ah, I forgot to tell you. While I was studying some herbs in northeast, I met a particular adorable big brother who was lost in the woods." Raziel explained. "He lost his cat and lost his way so I helped him out and we became friends."
"Is it so?" Alberu hummed. "Which family is he from?"
"Henituse."
"Ahh..."
Alberu was deep in thought after hearing the last name. The Henituse that belonged to the countdom who is protecting the northeast border from monsters of the forest of darkness.
"I'd like to meet him." Alberu, who didn't know the weight of his words said.
Raziel internally snickers as he let this hyung of his gets somehow 'exploited' by his other hyung, well, at least he's getting something in return so it's a win win.
Besides, they'll be a great ally in the future and the party formation is only beginning.
Chapter 17: The Party Formation 04
Chapter Text
The murmurs hadn't calmed even during the banquet.
Mostly about the prince whom have come to shake the roof with his appearance and pondered the great impact he had in the entire kingdom of Roan.
They were told that years ago, exactly eleven years back, Dorma's king visited the Roan Capital... and it was not a good experience. Everyone said that it was a good thing that this benevolent saint-like Dorma's crown prince was their crown prince Alberu's close friend, or else, there's a possibility that Roan would face the absolute power of the Dorma's king.
Knowing Euclidean's reputation: 'the kingdom destroyer' and a (by Raziel's perspective) 'sadistic dragon in the face of a saint' (which can also be referred to him), this reputation was not much talked about by many but it was a concerning thought to every royals of course. So they tried to appease Dorma and made sure not to provoke what caused the dragon king to destroy kingdoms: when in fact, Euclidean simply did it out of boredom.
Raziel was also full after being fed a lot by Alberu who couldn't help but enjoy seeing his soft cheeks puff while munching. It was cute that while he was munching, the blonde prince was disturbing him while poking his puffed cheek.
The young redhead would look at him in a questioning way but Alberu would only smile at him whenever he looks at him. So giving up for an explanation, Raziel could only continue eating thinking that Alberu had prepared most of his favourites.
Now Raziel wondered why but could not have enough space on his mouth to ask.
"I wasn't able to attend your sixteenth birthday." The blonde crown prince started.
The younger hummed. "It's okay. You did watched it with me." The entire time, the video communication was opened beside Raziel and Alberu, who was on the other line, saw what transpired in Dorma's birthday occasion. It was a very grand banquet, even grander than this that if compared, it felt like this banquet is just a humble dinner party.
That's how rich that blue dragon is. For his son, he's more than willing to make it rain gold coins in the entire kingdom... literally.
Smiling at Alberu, Raziel couldn't help but feel bad. In his every birthday whenever he sneaks his birthday invitation to Alberu and he actually happens to have time and attends, Euclidean would tell both boys a plot... a threatening plot directed to Alberu's kingdom.
But unknown to him, the Roan's crown prince was less than threatened by this and had built up immunity towards the king's half true half not true threats and it bloomed to become a rivalry against king Euclidean without the little apple knowing...
One time while Raziel and Alberu were having tea time, Euclidean couldn't help but disrupt and join as 'he owned the place' so unable to say how rude he had done that, the two friends could only awkwardly watch the older dragon borely drink his cup of tea.
Alberu greeted him properly, of course. Euclidean smiled at him, the kind smile mixed with dragon fear. As soon as he did, Raziel spoke to his father and happily told him a story making the blue dragon retreat his animosity.
When it did, Euclidean gave a victorious smile as Raziel's attention was given to him exclusively. The same smirk he gave to king Zed when they met but today it meant: I'm more important than you, kid. Now watch or leave you insignificant existence.
Alberu, who somehow understood the look smiled back, feigning ignorance. Then his eyes turned to Raziel and spoke. "By the way Raz, I just found that herb you said you wanted to see so badly."
When he said this, Raziel's face brightened and turned to Alberu like an excited puppy. "Really?! Really?!"
"Yes, it's currently planted in my greenhouse at home. Feel free to come by anytime and take it if you want."
"Amazing! I'll come by next week to check it!" The excited red dragon had forgotten that he has a father that had been completely ignored.
His importance is of no use when the word 'new plant' reaches Raziel's ears. And Alberu who was the mastermind made Euclidean felt like his son was stolen.
When Alberu went back home, Euclidean suddenly suggested. "I think it's beneficial if we take over Roan."
Raziel turned to him with a close-eyed smile. "Papa, no."
.
After that refreshing meal, it was finally time for the Roan's crown prince to have some socialising and get to meet and greet the 'future' of this country's nobles.
The nobles of each territories belonging to the first table came up first to send their greetings and slip some pressing matter regarding territorial issues, business plans and just simply sucking up to a higher person.
Their voice would raise quite clear in order for it to reach Raziel's ears. Their words intentionally bragging their achievement to look good and show odd just to be noticed by the neighbouring prince.
Noticing this plot, Alberu hurried his conversations with them in a way that will both not waste his time and not put Raziel in boredom since he is clearly uninterested in matters regarding what is what in this noble's charades.
The young redhead only stood there with all small smile as if a statue of a little god in his very own altar that carried his shine.
When Venion was finally able to shake Alberu's hand, only then did Raziel moved from his place. His eyes moved from being kind to observing. It was only a slight twitch on his eyes and brows so if you aren't paying attention to his eyes, you won't notice the difference.
However, Venion, who had been directed with that gaze, he noticed. And for an odd reason, the hair at the back of his head rose in an unexplainable goosebumps for an unknown reason.
Just what it is that's worrying him? It's probably the aftermath after seeing his crippled older brother appearing in this banquet.
Although he thought of so many possibilities, he just couldn't figure things out. Also the crown prince of Dorma seemed to have been trying to familiarize him for some reason.
Venion tried to elaborate this. What connection did he previously had that made this redhead prince looked at him differently.
Then his head began to twist the cogs, slowly realizing some incidents in the past trying to connect it to his own... was it, that black dragon that escaped?! As far as he can remember, it was revealed eleven years ago, that the king of Dorma is actually not an ordinary king. He is a dragon.
His eyes became chaotic, confused and afraid. His pupils began to shake and his body began to sweat cold bullets while the younger redhead smiled brighter at him lightly releasing a very small amount of dragon fear.
But even if it was a small bit of his power, of course it cannot be underestimated. That even if that was not directed to them, it could make one to feel extremely intimidated and the pressure would be enough to make a person's knee soften worst, one could faint.
That moment, the atmosphere became a chilling room as though they had been taken underwater. Everyone gulped, disturbed by an aura the could not pinpoint to.
But Cale had already figured it out when the black dragon spoke.
--Human, Razi is releasing a weird aura right now.
He explained making the young master frown. He was feeling goosebumps and cold sweat was beginning to trickle.
"Tell him to stop." Cale whispered.
Obeying his words, The black dragon quickly flew and confronted Raziel about his temper through telepathy.
--Razi! Human is uncomfortable with your aura. I know you also hate Venion Stan but my great and mighty self will take care of him!
When the older brother heard him, he automatically stopped. Alberu turned to Raziel with an inquiring gaze but decided to ask later on and ended the conversation with Venion so they could proceed.
When it was finally the northeastern noble's turn, Raziel's bad mood changed drastically and his aura beaming and very pleased.
Cale was trying to avoid eye contact with that younger prince but whenever he does, he couldn't help but instinctively looking back at him with a frown.
He didn't know how he'll treat that kid, but basing on how he seems to be closed but Cale didn't know just how close that will be.
So for the meantime, he decided that he will observed the current situation.
Chapter 18: The Party Formation 05
Chapter Text
Having exchanged shake hands Alberu and a certain Eric Wheelsman discussed about business for a short while the same with the lady Amiru.
Cale was on the sideline, avoiding all unnecessary eye contact. But seeing as Raziel seemed like an excited little puppy when he saw one of his hyung finally came closer, he seemed really happy which is why the older could only helplessly sigh in defeat.
But the longer the chat took, the more intense the atmosphere felt between him and the little apple. He was so bright he looked like a lit up twenty watts of lightbulb. At this point, the older redhead already wanted to run away as soon as possible.
"You must be Cale Henituse!" Alberu sounded pleased as he finally came face to face with the 'other hyung'. He held out his hand with a bright smile.
Meanwhile, Eric Wheelsman, Cale's self-proclaimed hyung, looked rather baffled why the crown prince knew the young master.
Cale beamed, shaking the hand with both hands warmly. "Indeed I am, your highness. I'm so honoured that you recognize such an insignificant troublemaker like me."
The blonde crown prince did not back down. "Oh, it is I who is honoured to finally meet little Raz's hyung. He seems to greatly looks up at you. Thank you for looking after him." He replied.
"Oh, no your highness. In fact, it is our precious Razi, who is looking out for me.
"..." Raziel watched it on the side still beaming with happy energy but felt like something was entirely wrong with how this conversation is going.
"Then I hope he's enjoying himself in the northeast territory. He really loves to see rare herbs so sometimes he forgets that some place are quite dangerous." Alberu said.
"Razi is such a kind child, of course everyone in our territory loves taking care of him."
"Ah, good. Good." The blond prince said followed by: "As expected of little Raz! A lot of people loves him." He said.
"..." Raziel's radiant smile remained but his mind was currently numbing as he listened to this exchange of not actually being pleasantries, but the competition of most generous praises on Raziel's being was getting out of hand.
While Alberu was simply trying to purposely tell Cale that he had spent longer time with Raziel than he did, the other somehow did not fail to run his mouth automatically as if his body was being controlled by someone else(praising Raziel somehow became a muscle memory for the original Cale and now Rok Soo is benefitting from it). Which is why Cale did not lose with the exchange as well.
Don't you guys have something else to praise... like... praise one another or something?
"Ah, haha!" Raziel chuckled and approached the two who still continued. He tapped both their backs lightly. "I'm happy seeing you two get along. But it's making me embarrassed hearing these praises from you two." So please, let's stop here!
"You're such a humble child."
"You're such a humble child."
As if two mirrors, both his hyung's hand reached out for his head at the same time.
"..." Raziel mentally face palmed.
Oh god... what the hell is this?
It took a moment to finally separate them both.
It is said that Alberu didn't like or feels comfortable besides someone who was the same as him. So, Raziel, being considerate of this matter for the both of them, decided to end their unending 'little brother' affection competition towards him that time.
The northeastern nobles who has long been forgotten because of this only looked at the three people with disbelief in their eyes. Especially to Cale who was being carefree at patting Raziel's head with affection.
Who knew their most troublesome young master actually have something good in him!
Eric Wheelsman felt even more proud. He puffed his chest and raised his chin happily. To think that Cale was actually such a considerate young man... the letters he sent might've reached his heart and chose his life for the better!
... Although that's not exactly how it was, but nobody knew what Eric's trains of thoughts were at the moment so they couldn't correct his mindset at this point.
After finally ending the banquet, everyone returned to their own villas in the capital. For tomorrow's continuation of the event, everyone were required to go to the plaza so naturally, the boy had to be close to his hyung as well to protect him in case things goes wrong in his side.
Raziel stayed in the palace to have some tea time with Alberu.
As the two sat on the greenhouse the Roan prince built for Raziel, they chatted. After months of not seeing each other in person, it could only be natural that Raziel will tell him his life experience.
Alberu enjoyed the boy's story and watched his face brighten everytime he explained his findings on the plants he loves so much. Knowing that he had no fighting chance when it came to the point that Raziel had to choose between his 'hyung' vs 'plants', so he had yielded in defeat and decided to make amends with herbs in order lure the boy's likability to him with the plants he loves so much.
And. It. Is. Very. Very. Very. Effective.
Having truce(it's actually surrender) with the plants, Alberu even got Raziel loving the idea of visiting him more and more despite Euclidean's never ending unfulfilled threats.
Euclidean didn't think to bait his son with herbs, so naturally, Alberu always have the upper hand.
However right now, he thinks that his position is Raziel's clueless heart was being threatened.
Eversince talking with Cale, he felt like he should not just ally with plants but up his game. It didn't seem like Cale was interested in Raziel the same way as Alberu the first time they shook hands, but when they spoke with each other was he only appalled that the older redhead was the same as him in personality... and probably in feelings as well towards a certain dense dragon child.
He stared at Raziel deeply while he spoke and spoke. His voice was always pleasant to listen to when he was chattering, if not, his delicate face that focused on the books his writing also held an ethereal air as if he was the only being existing in his very world, learning. Or when he smiled brighter than the sun. Alberu was fully aware of it after spending more time with him.
They may both be the same crown princes of their country, but they lived a completely different life that it was almost impossible for Alberu to meet him often than he wanted to.
But he can't complain. Because everytime Raziel comes always made him feel like it was something new.
Chatting with Raziel took until evening so the boy decided to stay the night.
Although it was customary to make a room for Raziel in the palace, it always end up on Alberu's room. The little redhead wasn't really picky on where to sleep because even when they were young, he always sleep with Alberu while being read a bedtime story.
As they grew older, it became a habit to have sleepovers in the same room. The boy didn't really find anything wrong with it even if you read out loud the noble etiquette book in full booming voice in his very ears.
Being raised and spoiled by a petty sadistic dragon is enough to have a somewhat free life--except when he's itching to destroy a country.
Raziel comfortably changed into the sleeping wear that Alberu gave him. It consisted of a pair of white pajamas but a bit too big for his smaller size yet didn't mind it. It's only used for a night anyways and no one would criticize him after all.
He hugged a soft pillow while lying on his stomach and turned to Alberu who was in his desk reading some documents. It was a normal occurrence actually.
And since he's already there, he decided to help him out in sorting things as well. He sat on the side of Alberu's study table, hugging a pillow with one hand, his cheek rested on the soft cushion and reading a few documents with his other hand. He would then tell Alberu the summary and it was up for him to decide whether to approve it or not, sometimes, Raziel would give his opinion to help Alberu to decide quickly.
At this point, Raziel's incredible intelligence was being used once again.
The Roan's crown prince always admired the prince of Dorma for his insights. Even if he act carefree, he always put his duties to heart and now even helping him to his own responsibility.
Raziel would always tell him: "Two brains thinking is better than one brain working and the other idling. If I know I can help, then I would naturally." He plainly said with a smile. "The office elves help me a lot with work so I easily finish them and face my hobbies."
After sorting out half of the papers, the boy yawned. A tear appeared on the side of his eyes but still continued to read. Alberu watched him sway his hanging feet on the table. Since the clothes Raziel was wearing belonged to him, it was a little bigger and his feet was already hidden by the excess of the pants.
"You should sleep, Raz." Alberu told him.
The boy smiled at Alberu and lazily replied. "Later."
"We'll be going to the plaza tomorrow morning, so you should rest."
Raziel looked down at him from where he sat. "Then let's sleep so we'll be early tomorrow." He replied with sleepy eyes.
The older couldn't help but smile. He stood up from his chair and reached for Raziel's head to pet him. The boy relaxed from the touch and cooperated like a lazy cat seeking for attention moving his head to reciprocate while hugging the pillow as he let out a soft hum.
Without noticing, he dozed off from being petted on the head slowly losing grip from his precious pillow and slowly fell forward straight to Alberu's chest and slept comfortably from the origin of the warmth.
It had always been like that. It was one of Raziel's side that Alberu only knew. A completely defenseless boy relaxed in the arms of his respected hyung.
Seeing as the boy was immersed in his sleep, the blonde prince carefully lifted him off the chair and carefully carried him to his bed to let him lie comfortably. As soon as the cushion met Raziel's back, he quickly searched for a better sleeping position, sleeping to his side while hugging his pillow.
Alberu smiled. All weariness sifted off just by the sight of Raziel as if he was the personification of 'healing' that one look can restore one's energy.
Seeing the little one comfortable there, he decided that his job is over. Setting aside his stationeries and laid down beside the young redhead (I swear if Euclidean finds out, he's going to destroy five counties in one swoop) and watched him sleep for a few minutes before closing in and kissing his forehead.
It wasn't anything harmful anyway. He just wanted to show his brotherly love for this boy. (Brotherly?... Lies!!!)
Smiling in satisfaction, he closed his eyes and felt the warmth beside him with glee.
The two princes slept throughout the evening in one bed, already cuddling each other throughout the cold night.
.
Ahaha Alberu steps up his game... others will, of course, follow through.
Chapter 19: The Party Formation 06
Chapter Text
A drowsy little redhead felt like his cheek was being poked.
He knew it was morning, but he isn't the type of person who is panctual at times so he ignored the feeling digging himself closer to the origin of warmth with a low groan.
Feeling comfortable from the warmth, his body relaxed again and fell asleep.
Alberu who was poking the little one's cheeks stopped as soon as he hid his face on his chest, compressing himself into a ball.
The blonde prince chuckled. "Raz, it's already morning." He softly called out, ruffling the red soft hair visible.
Raziel hummed, his arms wrapping around the other's waist mistakenly as his personal pillow and began to mumble. Although it was almost like a whisper, Alberu always hear his sleep talk.
He knew this little guy has a habit of sleep talking, usually about plants but sometimes, an attached name would always come out of his soft lips. His beautiful voice that Alberu always loved to hear spouted a name that he could never agree on.
And right now, it seems that this is one of them. "Luthen... sunflowers..." He mumbled.
In his dream state, Raziel was dreaming about his previous life as Blain.
A young man at his teens who's graduated from college early on. From then on, he had always worn white. The labgown had become his second skin that was never taken off twenty four seven like a canvas that could only be coloured with chemicals and imaginary blood of his conscience.
Creating weapons to kill is equivalent to being a killer. The blood that mess the world was partly his responsibility. When he first created the weapon, he was very against the idea of giving it to the national army. He wanted to destroy it yet he was too late and the higher ups had found out the lethal weapon he created.
His reluctance turned into conscience when he saw how advantageous killing had become when the weapon was being used. He watched it everyday without fail, to see that his creations are used to kill and kill. But the longer it went, his heart has long been darkened to feel any emotions for human life.
He grew up being told that his talent is the key to victory. He, who possesses the mind to create something disastrous, stronger than the other. He wondered if his sanity has long been destroyed after he witnessed the damage his weapons had caused.
Two years after Blain's graduation and earning a name as a national treasure for weaponry, his childhood friend, Luthen suggested that they visit the central trade or what was known to be a world's trading post where any and all items are being sold. It can also be called a legal black market due to the variety of things you can find.
There, only upperclass can actually have access to and Both Blain and Luthen whose family background have certain value are able to get in. Blain's and Luthen's father are both in the military as high ranking officials and a surname that is almost equivalent to imperial nobles.
The two friends strolled around the city after Luthen's day off in a military academy he was studying at. The trading post wasn't as crowded due to the chosen number of people that can enter so both boys didn't worry about the crowd. They could only leisurely stroll.
"Damn it's so hot." Luthen began to complain as soon as they were in the center, regretting the idea of visiting the trading post.
He should have suggested the northern star!
Blain would looked at him an smile calmly at his friend. Soft lighy brown eyes shined from the sun and with his dark hair sticking on his sweaty forehead, sympathetically patting the other's shoulder. "We should get some refreshments then." He offered.
Luthen's eyes brightened as if a puppy being told to be given some treats while the young scientist chuckled. "Let's go then!" The two had looked around and search for the stall that sells drinks and didn't fail to find one. They were also fortunate to find a portable mini fan in the mix.
After tending through Luthen's complain, the two continued to stroll, the temperature was now bearable for them. The trading center is like a festival in the middle of chaos. Stalls are built in each street and the place was lively.
This much can forget that on the other side of this place, happens to be a never ending war, poverty and starvation. At least once in a while, the two young souls whose fates lies to honor their family to kill or create something to kill an enemy would forget their tragic status for a few hours to at least be their ages.
Both are still teenagers yet but both had experienced the harsh reality, the pressure of sacrifice and witnessed thousands of deaths.
Who would have thought that those kind smiling pairs of eyes have been enlightened to this kind of generation?
"Luthen! Look, a sunflower!" Blain's excited call brought--or had dragged his friend to look at what he was pointing at.
A plant with a yellow fruit on top of the stem. Has about tens of yellow-orange petals and in the middle was like a collection of brown honeycomb little bumps, a slightly sharp feeling to the touch. "It does looks like a sun." Luthen commented.
"Not only that, the flowers bloom facing the sun." Blain adds, his eyes shining bright with excitement. "And the seeds are edible as well." He began putting in comparison the flowers similar to sunflowers, showing the real self of how a nerd he is when it concerned botany.
Of course, his friend was always happy for him whenever his eyes shined.
"I see. That sounds very interesting. You really know a lot of things." Luthen praised sincerely, messing around the little raven's head. The two happily looked at each other.
Thinking about it, Blain had always been smiling and calm.
"Little Raz, you still have things to do." Luthen suddenly said.
Blain became confused when his friend called him that as if he never heard that name before.
Raz...
The memory soon turned into a blurry image as soon as he heard a call once more. His head began to process and the dream consisted of his previous life's memories began to faint into his mind and realize that it wasn't real.
His green eyes soon opened shakily, only giving away a half lidded look to find a black hair and dark eyes smiling at him. He froze, Luthen?! Blinking once more, he now saw a blonde head male looking back at him with a smile on his face... it was actually Alberu...
Hiding the slight disappointment on his brows, he smiled back. (Lol. He be disappointed that it's actually Al hurts my conscience but yeah, it is how it is)
"Hyung... good morning." he muttered softly, his voice a little husky from hours of being unused.
"You sleep like a log." Alberu replied in tease.
Raziel chuckled and now hid his embarrassment. "Sorry, hyung..." he said softly.
The blonde prince reached out to pinch his nose before he sat up. "You must be hungry, let's wash up and eat." He started.
The younger followed suit, stretching his arms up and feeling the veins coursing through his body to wake his nerves up eventually. He wiped with the oversized sleeves, the small tears that formed from his eyes when he yawned still feeling sleepy.
Alberu's heart melted after watching him, he stood up and helped him undress and wash up. The older did it so well, Raziel wasn't surprise anymore. Was there anything this hyung of his'can't do?!
He also helped him suit up into a change of clothes provided for him. Tlsince the blonde prince was used to tending himself alone as he himself did have the most prosperous life among his siblings.
He wasn't a favoured son and his mother is not from a noble bloodline of humans. In this country, she was simply a commoner.
But now that he's a crown prince who's earned the approval of many, he's now the priority of service among all prince in Roan. But since he is used to doing things himself, he decided to keep it that way. Even serving this little dragon to dress up before himself.
He had watched the kid grow up after all so whatever Alberu decides, Raziel would agree and trust him with all smiles.
It's melting the older's heart, but at the same time it hurts his tiny conscience as he looked at the innocent kid smiling at him, his hyung. To think such a little, innocent, and unaware baby apple would not suspect him for being such an adult muddled with desire towards his innocent self.
He did gave a lot of signals. He hugs him but Raziel thinks it's just but big bro affection. He kiss his soft delicate cheeks or nose and sometimes he would show desire so kiss his lips by sticking his forehead to forehead and nose to nose but Raziel didn't pay much attention to it and thought that he took this habbit eversince they were kids. He even told him not to get married yet and wait for him... Raziel laughed and said "Papa told me not to get married until I'm nine hundred ninety nine years old if he dies or if he's stìll alive by then, then I have to wait until I'm a corpse.".
Alberu:...
He gave so many signals! So many that it wounds his heart to see the innocent yet kind brotherly indifference.
Ah, how frustrating can dense people be?
Raziel who never knew romantic relationships from past life until now cannot differentiate love(partner) from love(family) or love(friends). He thinks it's all the same, much to the grievance of his admirers from previous life and present life.
But Alberu wouldn't just give up. Raziel is still sixteen and maybe when he's matured enough, he'll understand. He should also start teaching the kid how love works so he wouldn't be taken advantaged of later in life.
.
Nothing, just a tantamount of words that will give everyone headache and heartache(except daddy Euclidean who will rejoice) because of the dense apple child 😅
Anyways~ let's give way for others to teach Raziel the act of love.
Chapter 20: The Great and Mighty! 01
Chapter Text
After preparation, the royals had prepared their departure towards the plaza.
Raziel forgot for a moment that he was actually going to meet Redika making his face distorted for a quick second before it went back to being neutral. But then again, meeting that piece of crap means revenge for throwing him in some random river and nearly drowning him to his second death.
With a satisfied smile on his lips, he turned his head to the window outside and watched the citizen of Roan make way and watch the royal carriage pass, looking up with awe and amazement by its extravagance.
The children seemed to be drawn to it more, their faces bright and shining. The adorable chubby faces and the serene sight made Raziel's eyes soften. As a person originated from a world of war, seeing a peaceful world on the next life is the best thing that ever happened to him. Not only that, but the fact that he is living the best life.
Just how did he appeased the gods to give him such reincarnation? Although this world has destructive tendencies (like Euclidean who has no care for human lives), he still has a chance to stop it unlike from his previous Era where the damage was to the core, it's almost too impossible to fix... almost, because he did manage to find a solution, but before he can tell it to the world, his discovery died with him into ashes.
A few minutes later, they reached the plaza where the king was waiting for his son and his son's esteemed friend. The crown prince of Dorma. There was a chair provided for them in the front while the other nobles were facing them as well.
He sat with them with all smiles despite it being questionable why Dorma's prince would join the annual meet up of the nation's nobles to their monarchs.
Is there some engagement that they did not know about between crown prince Alberu and crown prince Raziel?
Sitting calmly in his chair, Alberu put extra special care to him so he wouldn't get bored. Giving him the occasional headpats whenever he start becoming a bit agitated.
The boy was really adventurous and could only sit still for a few minutes. Except when he's reading, Raziel would move around like a worm sprayed with salt. So in order to keep him in his chair, Alberu would coax him with plants as bait and calm him with a soothing headpat like an addictive drug.
However, it doesn't seem to be Raziel's adventurous side that was taking over him. Alberu noticed that it was something else entirely. The younger's eyes would wander off the sky and would sometimes be in deep thought as if he wanted to check something, somehow agitated and excited that he couldn't stop moving around.
Before he could even ask what was wrong with the little redhead, commotion stirred up in the nobles as a gust of wind waved through sweeping the plaza dirt.
Everyone either panicked, screamed, ran or looked up to see the estranged character that appeared before such a lively day.
Laughter eroded in the air as a man floating up in the distance could be seen. His smile can give one goosebumps as he looked at the people below him with crazed eyes.
Raziel frowned watching the seen were serious. His angel like smile vanished, only a glare from his sharp reptilian eyes shine towards the man who smelled like blood. He was the first person Raziel had a bad impression on the first time he was reborn into this world.
Redika spoke arrogantly and laughed like he won. While he was doing so, his tone irritated a red dragon and had unconsciously released his tremendous dragon fear.
The air pressure became immense that everyone can almost feel the pull of gravity. Raziel felt the mana became unstable in his body while directing the threat right onto Redika's person.
The mage quieted, searching for the person who was emitting such strong surge of power. His hands trembled while he gritted his teeth with madness. In his instincts, his mind kept telling him that he should run. But his anger and pride made him want to stay and murder that person trying to overpower him.
In Raziel's mind, this person was the one who instigate Raon's fate as a pitiful tortured dragon in the original novel BOA. If Cale hadn't come to his rescue in the novel TOTCF, then history might have repeated itself. Raon might've lost control and would eventually be killed by Choi Han.
This sad truth made Raziel even more enrage and confused of why he had been so obsessed on avenging to anyone who caused Raon to suffer. He never felt this way towards his real family in his previous life. But right now, as if his forgotten emotions were returned, he couldn't control much of it.
Alberu looked at this young man shocked. He knew the pressure of Raziel's mana, but he did not realize it could become even more distructive than before. He was worried that the boy might not be able to control it.
He began to step forward from the platform with blank eyes only focused to that man. While Redika turned to him and met his green sharp eyes. Like a predator in the bunny skin.
Familiar eyes. He thought, trying to recall where he had seen it before. Until the erratic mana flowed even more sharp that the blood crazed mage feels like he was being pricked by thousands of needles.
This fear made his eyes widened and his memory was jogged prior to sixteen years ago and remembered vividly the blank green eyes belonging to a little lizard that struggled so hard to get away from him so he impatiently threw him randomly while he was in the skies and didn't care whether he lives or dies.
"You... you!" Redika felt like he lost a lot of blood. This brat is a dragon! How can he fight that?!
However, he thought back on what they came here for. The fear that had been clearly out earlier was changed into a smirk. He began to laugh.
"So you're still alive! Ha, I thought your little skull would have been smashed in the woods but it looks like you're a lucky hatchling!" He laughed out loud.
Raziel was annoyed by what he heard. So Redika did not intend him to drown, but have his head smashed from a high fall?
Just wait till I reach you! I'll smash that head myself!
Losing his temper, the boy had stepped closer and closer away from the Roan royals, attempting to fly towards him. However, saw Redika signalled in the air and within a flash, men in ninja like suits jumped from a tower. One of which was aiming towards the nobles and the other was towards Raziel and the other royals behind him.
Bombs!
Raziel's brain screamed as he watched the figure come closer. His green eyes did not react much to it until light flashed before their very eyes and the boy was too late on summoning any protective magic.
Explosion engulfed the premise while Cale released his silver shield with both Raon and Rosalyn's help. On the other side, strong wind passed through the Roan's royals unable to see what happened to the Dorma's crown prince.
Alberu, who tried to run towards the younger was stopped by the guards, struggling as string as he could only to be weighed down to the ground by his loyal subordinates to protect him which is why he was not able to catch up in time. His eyes wide, watching the very light that engulfed Raziel's being.
After the explosions and aftershocks ended, both sides were unharmed. Cale coughed out blood while Raziel was in someone else's arms, eyes closed like a sleeping little angel. As if that change of face earlier was nonexistent at all.
At the sight of a blue haired male, both royals and nobles were stunned. Even Cale who did not expect someone else's appearance was rather shocked.
Who is he? Blue hair and eyes were characteristics belonging to the whale tribe, but after second look at this stunning man, he doubt this person is even from a beast tribe.
He watched the man carefully held an unconscious little prince in his arms while followed forward the elven guards who were waiting outside and upon seeing Euclidean, they all knelt down to appease this dragon man who's mood was darker than one could imagine.
"Dare that human to actually try to scratch my son?" He said coldly and a stronger dragon fear emanated like tsunami in the air. It was more suffocating than Raziel's dragon fear that someone actually fainted.
His smile became cold as ice as he looked down on the little apple that he raised for years. He watched him grow from a ball of apple into a youth, but he'll witness a bastard detonate a magic bomb and kill this child?
You should be glad you're dead because once you fall into my hands, you'll wish for it to come soon.
Redika already flee when the bombs were detonated. But despite the calamity ending, it seems like it invited an even more destructive plague. A threatening dragon in the guise of a beautiful human appeared before them.
The father of the little innocent cub.
Raziel groaned. His head was spinning after using his attribute to his body. His left eye already started to cry blood from pain making Euclidean grit his teeth.
He came too late after the alarm he set up in the boy's body rang uncontrollably. As he appeared with the flashing light, he saw the boy slowly being obliterated by the force of the bomb that stood in front of him. If he didn't have any time attribute to reverse that mangled body back, he surely would lose his precious son.
Raziel opened his eyes slowly. It was half lidded, but Euclidean can see the glowing green orbs that was formed into the image of a clock. The hands rotating backwards to reverse the wounds in his body.

It was the second time Euclidean saw the fascinating change of eyes. But the current situation didn't give him the leisure to look at it.
His son almost died, thankfully, he has this attribute. He looked around the chaos before turning his head to the royals who looked back at him, especially the king who seemed afraid of the incoming retaliation from a dragon king.
These cowards neglected his little apple.
"Papa..." the boy, who was in no state to speak, squeaked out a word to call the blue dragon. The state of his body is currently going in reverse to its healthy state, and while doing so, he felt like vomiting as the shredded body that scattered in the air earlier felt like they were being sewn back in place. The cells, the bones and the organs were moving inside him.
I actually died again?! Raziel shouted in his heart almost in disbelief. Redika, this is the second time! He cursed the blood crazed mage in his head. He will really avenge himself and Raon this time!
I swear if I get a life and death experience again because of you, I'm not gonna settle with one swift cut on your head!
Raziel's vicious mind cried. He grabbed his father's shirt tightly, shaking in anger and fear from the second death experience.
Am I destined to die in explosions?!?!?! (Note that Blain died due to bombing and was caught into the fire and died.)
He hid his face in Euclidean's chest feeling the extreme fright that even beat his fear for apples. He was trembling uncontrollably and the older dragon can feel it making him angry and in incredible urge to destroy Roan. But knowing his son's frightened appearance, he could only hold back.
"Let's go back." He said seriously, a portal automatically being opened by an elf as he entered, disappearing into the sight of stunned nobles followed by the elves who were actually crying for their little prince who nearly died.
As soon as the portal disappeared, the strong and dominating dragon aura disappeared.
Raon was the first one to shout at Cale's head.
-That old man is really strong!
As the older redhead heard this, he automatically felt chills. Being Raon as his guide to strength level, once the young dragon say one is strong, then that level would automatically rise up in red alert of his brainwaves and listed him as one of the creatures he should avoid.
"Cale, are you okay?" Eric quickly approached the young master who remained standing stunned.
Cale raised his hands which were scraped and even looked pitiful when he did so. As a man who hates pain, a scratch would feel like a deep wound for him.
Mages has finally came to treat the wounded and slowly, everyone were able to relax after confirming that their country was not destroyed.
The plot continued on, Alberu, who saw Raziel was fine, sighed in relief and approached Cale to thank his bravery. Briefly making a dignified royal face in front of everyone before inviting Cale to his carriage.
.
Next chap: Ayo, little apple, you're grounded for dying! Now go to your uncle's cave and isolate.
Okay, so some of you guys are correct!!! Raz's attribute is time but to be more precise, it's 'Reverse and Fastforward'. By the name itself you can tell, but I'll expound it further in the succeeding chapters 😂.
Chapter 21: The Great and Mighty! 02
Chapter Text
The things that had happened three days ago had been like a strange dream.
A dream that was actually real which caused Euclidean's mood to turn 180 in just a short amount of time.
He actually died in an explosion. Raziel sighed while placing the final pot of cactus on his bedside table in the new room he was in.
For the first time in decade and a half, Euclidean actually grounded him yet at the same time, not exactly grounding as the boy was sent to Mt. Yellia to live with Eruhaben and learn magic more profoundly than how Euclidean had taught him.
In fact, the blue dragon decided that in order for Raziel not to run around and hurt himself anymore, he sent him off in the guise that he learns magic. Probably thinking that he could isolate Raziel in the outside world for at least a few years.
Too bad for his petty yet heartwarming plan, but the baby apple he picked up was a straight up reincarnated genius.
Raziel yawned until he found his communication device flicker. He looked at the small device, transferred a pinch of magic that allowed the device to open up an image.
It was Alberu who was sitting on the bedside of Cale who was pretending to be very hurt internally at the moment.
"Were you hurt anywhere?" Alberu asked, his tone worried as he observed the little one from his side.
Raziel doesn't seem to look hurt, but he was sure the boy's actions that day was clear that he was very afraid and shocked.
"I'm okay." He smiled. "But I'm under punishment right now so I don't think I can answer your calls often."
"Punishment?" Alberu frowned and looked at the background in Raziel's back. The place was a bit dark, only lighted by candles and torches as well as the fact that it was rocky. "Where are you?"
"I'm at my uncle's." Raziel explained.
"Uncle?" Now both Cale and Alberu repeated. Shocked over the fact that he has a relative other than Euclidean.
For Cale, his alarm radar was ringing endlessly as he heard the word 'uncle', this is another red flag. Uncle? Another dragon? Another unknown munchkin other than Raziel and Euclidean?
"Yes. Papa have an older brother. This is his cave." The boy toured the device around the room, finding both the vibe of a caveman at the same time the vibe of extravagance mixed in the room as it was designed to look like a bedroom itself. The fabrics and golds used were no joke.
Cale felt shivers after confirming his thoughts. This is a dangerous family tree. Since when can dragon reproduce so quick when they love isolation?
-Razi is at his uncles? Another dragon?
Added Raon who seemed very interested in this dragon family. Cale unconsciously reached out to the place he assumes to be the black dragon's place and he did not fail to feel the smooth head of the four year old.
"So, you'll be living in that cave for how long?" Cale decided to ask
"I don't know..." Raziel scratched his head looking confused as well. "My father said that I'm grounded until uncle taught me all I should learn about being great and mighty."
Cale frowned. "So, you wouldn't be able to go out?" He asked.
The boy hummed. "Yeah. Uncle said I should rest for a while and earn back my mana."
"Well, that's good to hear." Alberu nodded. That way, this kid wouldn't be running around to some random place for the sake of his hobby.
"But..." Raziel looked disappointed. "I don't like uncle's mountain." He muttered, remembering a certain jump scare (apple) that fell on its ominous origin (apple tree) that caused him to transform unwillingly.
"Why? What's wrong with his mountain?" Alberu frowned confused.
"It's really, really scary outside(there's an apple outside)." He whispered. "There's a cursed creation outside (still an apple) that I don't think I can go out anymore unless uncle destroys it."
At this point, Alberu and Cale's understanding of the situation to his explanation, Raziel could only mean that he is in prison. Making the aura in the other room darken.
His uncle locked him up?
If Raziel knew what they were thinking, he is probably going to laugh and cry.
"Raz. Which mountain?" Alberu asked.
The boy stared at him with green bright eyes. He let out a smile and wave a hand. "It's fine. I also don't know where anyway." He lied.
Cale will find it eventually anyways. It's not going to take long... probably? Anyways, he also needed to learn more magic so he can help Eruhaben teach both Raon and Rosalyn some magic.
He placed the communication device on the table and continued to check on his indoor plants. Hands on his chin while thinking if he should put it out in the sun or just keep it inside for decoration.
"How are you going to do some herb research if you're going to stay there?" Alberu suddenly asked. Of course, he wanted Raziel to come by even if it meant to just check out his green house full of Raziel's favourite plants.
The younger redhead turned to the device again and sighed. "I don't know. I guess I'll have to review my works again until the thing outside(apple) is gone."
--Human! What is Razi so afraid of? Isn't he stronger than me?
Raon asked confused. Cale also wondered with a thoughtful frown. What exactly would scare a mighty dragon that he can't come out of his uncle's cave?
"Razi, I've been thinking." Cale started. "Are you perhaps afraid of other dragons?" He tried to guess what exactly is scaring this boy.
Raziel looked at Cale and smiled. "No one's scarier than my father." So I don't think other dragons can scare me anymore.
The older redhead thought again. "Then what cursed thing are you afraid of?"
From his question, Alberu also wondered what Raziel was afraid of in that place. They watched as a blush of embarrassment came out of the young man's face as he averted the device where the two were watching. "It's... a red thing... that... falls overhead..." he explained unable to say that it's a normal apple.
The two were even more left to confusion. But now was worried that they wished they knew what that foreign object is that the younger redhead was so afraid of.
"That's all." He smiled awkwardly and waved. "I still have to see my uncle."
"Alright." Alberu sighed in defeat. "I'll try to reach out to you again." He softly smiled at the younger.
"Mhm. Bye Alberu-hyung, Cale-hyung, little one!" Then the communication device turned off.
--he knew I was here!
Raon happily exclaimed. His wings are probably fluttering with excitement by now.
When Raziel turned off his device, he got out of his room to see Eruhaben to his room as per instructed of him to do the moment he got there.
A helpless look pasted to his face as he walked towards this big cave.
Although he wasn't that ready to meet Eruhaben again, he should probably get used to getting himself surprises every now and then. Especially since he himself did not have a storyline to follow being an unnamed character and very carefree at that.
Eruhaben sat on a study table made of high quality woods which was outlined with golden details. On the table stood a magic lamp infused with mana to function and to Raziel's surprise, his uncle is currently reading his research book.
He slowly approached until he was in front of the table. "Uncle..." he called out hesitant.
Eruhaben glanced at the young redhead then back to the book where equations and formula were placed.
Raziel gulped. His lips parted open, but it took a few seconds before words came out from it. "Do you... like math?" He asked.
Eruhaben hummed. "Did you do this by yourself, little one?" He asked.
"Y-yes... these are for making medicines." He explained.
The thousand year old golden dragon nodded with interest. His reptilian eyes was so immersed on the book that Raziel was having hopes to share his stock knowledge that came from when he was that young scientist.
He wanted to discuss this to someone and knowing Eruhaben's willingness to learn new things, this little reincarnated scientist deliberately left his research books in the table of the living room in the guise that he's going to unpack hoping that his uncle would take interest.
"This is such brilliant understanding. The equations, although foreign, is very convenient in solving problems." He said.
A smile on his face as he stood up to reach down the boy's soft wavy red locks.
Eruhaben was very proud to have such a nephew. If he didn't know enough how much this kid was attached to Euclidean, he would have thought that he was raised by someone else.
Hearing the praise, Raziel eventually relaxed and smiled more refine. Accepting all affections he received from Eruhaben just by looking at the notes alone.
The golden dragon watched his soft little nephew looking very obedient. Each and every actions he made was opposite to how Euclidean acts. So to say, in the evil darkness(Euclidean) the is an angel who emits light(his peculiar son, Raziel).
"First, let's talk about your attribute." Eruhaben started.
Hearing this the older dragon urged him to sit with some cup of tea while they started the conversation. Raziel nodded. He looked at Eruhaben and smiled sadly. "It's an attribute that I've prayed to get one time ago." He started.
Unfortunately, it's all too late...
Chapter 22: The Great and Mighty! 03
Chapter Text
Raziel tapped a page of his book with boredom. The hour seems so slow when it's like this especially when only torches and lamps lighting up the room. This atmosphere was making him sleepy and lazy. It felt like he needed to exercise more.
In front of him was the golden dragon who was also busy looking through Raziel's plant research with utmost interest. The book indeed contained thousand of pages. The plants were hand drawn from a clumsy hand into a professional making Eruhaben notice the improvement of Raziel's road to his passion. The descriptions were also very detailed, having their medicinal properties and some are still under test.
Magic training? Eruhaben said that Raziel's magic comprehension is bizarre. He knew almost all basic things a dragon needs. A simple magic can become powerful when a great amount of mana is induced or when the element of magic compliment each other to form a stronger force.
But if one wants to go beyond that, research is at most, what everyone needs. That was what Raziel needs to be taught right now. This little hatchling is already powerful enough to counter a middle aged dragon with his magic.
So to say, Eruhaben didn't have much to teach in magic physically, what they only have to learn is magic research, but he did have things to teach on being a dragon so he kept Raziel in eyesight and observed him for a while.
For three days of staying together, the boy had been very obedient and gentle... that is the problem (when Eruhaben wants a spoiled nephew...).
This baby needs to be whip to shape into a more dignified hatchling. Although, indeed, this child is lovable. But he is too lenient! Can't he at least say no for once?
How did my dumb little brother even raised a dangerous creature into a humble egg? Logic cannot even explain it.
Eruhaben sighed while glancing at his unlucky nephew. It's already a miracle that he was alive in Euclidean's destructive care, but it's even more of a god defying phenomenon when a certain destructive and evil blue dragon raised this... this little angel that only has an incredible animosity towards an innocent apple!
Silence grew in the cave while Raziel focused on his book, counting every dust in every page.
Ahem.
Eruhaben cleared his throat making the boy looked up at him.
"Raziel. How many people have you terrorized this month?" He asked.
The boy thought back. "About one village, and a few nobles." He replied. When he turned into a dragon because of that... phobia of his', he remembered scaring a certain village near the capital when he passed by. It's not like he terrorized those people who wanted to kidnap him, so he didn't put that into account. And lastly, during the noble gathering, he saw that hateful Venion Stan and couldn't help but release his dragon fear.
The golden uncle stopped for a second.
-was I wrong? Is he like that bastard little brother of mine? A devil in the face of an angel?
Eruhaben frowned and looked at his little nephew who seemed embarrassed about his confession.
"Did you intentionally do it--"
"No!... well, for the latter part, yes." He shrunk again. Eruhaben might think that he's a bad dragon now. Haiist, sorry for the bad impression of getting to know me, dear uncle.
"Why?" Eruhaben watch his young nephew who admitted his wrong but the expression he showed shows no regrets about it. Somehow, the interested golden dragon had asked the young one why he would show an expression like that.
"Well..." Raziel sheepishly scratched his chin looking very reluctant. "It's because he is morally impaired." He started.
Eruhaben's frown deepen from his nephew's accusation on the said noble. "What did he do? Did he hurt you in any way?" He asked.
"Well no.... Technically..." Raziel replied. "He hurt someone important to me so I hate him."
"Someone important, huh? I see." The golden dragon decided not to ask further as he looked at the distant look from the boy's eyes.
It's a question of who could actually do something to trigger an angel like this to be despised in several level.
"It's okay!" Raziel smiled happily. "Because I promised to offer that guy to my dad when the young ones are done getting back their debt." The boy explained. Now Raziel wondered when will they torture Venion so he could kidnap him after.
Now that sounded vicious. Eruhaben frowned again. Offering someone to Euclidean is equivalent to repeated death penalty until you can literally die in misery.
It seems that this baby dragon did learn Euclidean's traits.
He nodded in confirmation in his theories. But that viciousness alone is not enough to make Raziel dragon-like. He's still to friendly with humans and it's concerning. What if those humans are only using him?
"Raziel, what do you think of humans?" He asked.
The boy looked at him, tilting his head with a questioning look. "Well they are unpredictable creatures." He said.
"That's true." Eruhaben nodded to agree. "Do you like humans?"
"They are very interesting." Raziel didn't know if he should say yes or no so he gave a vague reply. As a person who was once human but is labelled as a monster, the idea is complicated. "Humans have interesting things to show so I won't pass up the opportunity to study them."
"Study them, huh." Eruhaben began internalizing and found his nephew reasonable. For a dragon to see humans as study specimen is exactly what a dragon should do.
"Humans are like plants." He started, his eyes began sparkling at the mention of plants. Eruhaben could only watch amused at this adorable little nephew and listened as to why he would compare humans and plants. "They have different categories and in every categories, they have types species different variations, different type of method to grow and have different specific environment for survivability. Although some have adaptability, there's a possibility of changes and mutations in order to cope with the environment change. It's the same with humans and animals but with the ability of choice."
The golden dragon tapped his table calmly. A smile on his face as he watch this lad explain things in his complex mind. Just how did Euclidean acquired this little treasure? He is very eloquent and smart. It's rare to find this qualities to young dragons these days. Only their arrogant nature emphasizes whenever they think they could take care of themselves in solitude.
"I have uprooted the apples you're afraid of." Eruhaben spoke calmly. "Rest assured that you can roam the mountain without worrying about it."
Hearing this good news, Raziel's eyes brightened. His smile widened that if his dragon form is present, it might have looked like a giant pup wagging as scaly smooth red tail and fluttering wings with excitement.
Great! Great! He can roam mt. Yellia now without obstruction in meeting new plants and herbs that he might discover later on once he goes out.
He strode with excitement, hugging this kind uncle's waist without reserve. Gracing him with all the gratitude Raziel could muster in his small body. "Uncle, is it me, or are you really a deity! You're so amazing!" He praised. You defeated the apple!
Eruhaben was taken aback by the hug and felt happy by the praise this kid is showering him. He petted the soft red hair while the other obediently stayed still to be pampered with head pats, his smile was bright and charming.
Seriously, how did that bloodthirsty blue dragon tamed you to this point?!
Eruhaben felt complicated. The mystery remained unsolved as he watched this child with soft eyes.
Evening came too fast. After a feast of dinner, Raziel was pushed early to bed for a reason that he's still 'growing' and needed to grow more.
He simply obliged and went to the provided room for him, laying on the soft cushion of the bed. His bright smiled had long gone as he was once again reminded about the reason for his attribute.
Closing his eyes, he began to experience the dream reminding him who he was...
He was once Blain.
He was once Blain Knijah, a heartless scientist of the futuristic world called Earth 4...
Pain...
His body feels painful, burning, scorching torturously. It felt like he was turning into ashes.
His breathing felt uneven.
"Don't worry, Blain! I'm here, I got you!" The frantic voice of Luthen rang through his ears as he felt his body being moved. "Damn those Tarians!" He cursed.
The Tarians are human migrates living to another planet thousand of light years away. They came here suddenly attacking their earth without following the procedure of universal law.
In the universal law: if a planet wishes to strike up a war, the planet of the opposition must be notified in order to separate the civilians from being harmed.
In respect of the law follows: the enemy must notify the planet's civilians and give time for retreat or surrender in order to avoid too many uninvolved casualties.
(In short, warn before you start a war and give a choice of flee, die or surrender when you know you've won)
Earth never lost in civil wars. But today, they were attacked in the back of their head, suddenly assaulted without apparent warnings and have intendedly destroyed a skyscraper causing for the people below to be buried in the debris and the people in the buildings to either be stranded or died.
A lot of people died before anyone could react.
Half of the city became ruins.
In that same place, Blain and Luthen were currently on a trip towards the main headquarters of the research institute where Blain works.
After the attack, the soldiers stationed in the city responded quickly on both air and ground making the gap equal and the invasion to a pause as they fought each other.
Before the two could even react, this attack happened. Their car crashed into another because of the panic that arose. Luthen was lucky to only receive minor scratches but Blain's side received the impact and is currently fighting between conscious and unconscious state of mind.
They got off the car, Luthen carrying his friend in his arms on the run towards the closest army headquarters to get a medic.
Blain wanted to grasp his friend and wanted to tell him to just leave him be and run.
This dream. This realistic fucking dream played again.
Because today was the day that his precious friend was killed mercilessly while trying to protect him.
Chapter 23: The Great and Mighty! 04
Chapter Text
Staying in the cave for weeks now, Raziel felt a little bit bored.
The little dragon who have seen the entire appleless mt. Yellia wanted to explore the Whipper Kingdom and check it out.
But thinking that he was still grounded by Euclidean, he could only obediently sit still and keep himself occupied with limited research and magic experiments with his uncle.
Eruhaben was also quick to learn from his nephew and was quite fond of this hidden gem. He watched him with his little experiments and sometimes observed it. Raziel really didn't have a limited trick up his little sleeves. It was a right decision to call him up here, making this lone cave less lonely and filled with lovely youthful smiles.
"Uncle, I made soup!" Raziel happily placed the pot down. The fragrant scent of the soup was rich, filled with mountain herbs and vegetables mixed with rabbit meat.
Eruhaben let out a helpless smile. Its seems like the boy had frequented the mountain a lot that he already learned how to cook. Euclidean would probably throw a tantrum if he heard that his dear son is cooking for his uncle.
A scorning huff escaped the golden dragon's nasal as he think about what to brag towards his heartless brother.
Hmp! It's his fault for raising a kind son! Also, don't blame me if he likes me more than you!
He sat on the table while Raziel served him happily. Looking at the soup, it seemed that the slices of vegetables were a bit clumsy but they improved a little. The first time Raziel tried, and for a reason unknown, his handling of the knife almost cut his finger that Eruhaben almost got a heart attack. So he told him to use magic instead to practice his focus and precision so his hands would be safe from his hazardous slicing method.
He scooped a spoonful and fed himself. It taste good! This kid learns fast. Eruhaben nodded proudly from the little achievement. He couldn't help but feel like a real parent right now.
He should reward this cute nephew!
Ahem-. He cleared his throat and turned his head towards the child who was eating as well. Hearing the attention seeking clearing of throat, Raziel looked up with an inquisitive gaze. "Tomorrow, we're going to town." Eruhaben informed.
"Town." As in a town in whipper kingdom? "Yes! Thank you, uncle!" He happily replied. His bright smile switched on even brighter (as Aoyama once said: I can't stop from twinkling).
Eruhaben squinted his eyes from the illusionary light, hoping someone could invent some tinted eyeglasses that could shade even a 'little dragon sun'. This blinding nephew is getting more and more brighter these days. Is his favourite snack the sun essence or something?
After dinner, Raziel cleared the table and ran back to his room to list down some things that he wanted to see especially the market.
After pondering for minutes, he set aside his itinerary and went to bed. His excitement lasted for a few hours before forcing himself to sleep with a knock out powder to have energy for tomorrow's activities.
On the other hand, a certain ancient golden dragon was not able to do that. Because he was too occupied over brainstorming on what items will he get for his nephew.
He simply remained sitting on his desk all night.
When the day came, the uncle and nephew duo left the cave before sunrise. With dye magic to make their hair common, the two beautiful creature roamed the streets that began to bustle with humans.
Raziel almost snapped his neck from looking around for merchants who sell herbs but unfortunately found none in the market. The only pharmacy in town only have the materials that he has already have in his spatial bag so he didn't bother to stay long.
Eruhaben also looked around in search of a perfect gift but the town isn't like the capital that has a lot of choices. Unfortunately, with the limited items being transported in the market, he didn't find any worth item.
The sun had rose brighter and hotter that afternoon. Contrary to mt. Yellia's everyday snowy weather, it was a nice change of view for a while.
Raziel walked past different statues like a lost kid. But of course, with Eruhaben watching him while looking around as well. The town wasn't exactly big, but it had a lot of turns, five separate roads connected to each other and filled with houses.
The golden dragon approached his little nephew who was still busy looking through the statue of a knight that's probably a hero in the ancient times of some sort.
"Does Raziel have other hobbies?" He decided to ask.
The boy stopped from internalizing the statue and looked back at his uncle. One of his hobbies in the past life is building mass murder weapons aside from that, he likes reading old magazines and coffee table books where it showed the former glory of earth.
Now that he no longer need to do those things, he probably need a new hobby aside from botany.
"What does uncle likes to do?" He decided to ask back.
"Well, studying." Was Eruhaben's reply.
"What does papa like to do?"
The golden dragon's face sunken dark. "Mass murder."
"Oh." What's the point of asking that? Raziel who has grown sixteen years with Euclidean already knew but thought that there's a slim chance that Eruhaben has another answer.
He looked around then back to the older. "Uncle, I think I need another hobby." He said.
"Good! Let's find you another one!" Eruhaben was more than enthusiastic. That's right little one! Give this uncle an opportunity to give you gift! Was his thought as they roamed the town with all smiles.
Raziel followed Eruhaben who's chest was raised high and arrogant as they strolled a general store which basically sells some of anything at random. It was a small shop filled with odd items which were made of woods or metals.
It has board games and gambling games as well. The others were for physical sports and whatnot. Raziel observed the things one by one.
In his era period back when he was Blain, most of these games had long disappeared and those names were soon forgotten by many.
What remained were games that only upperclass or military officers enjoyed. One of it was the board game chess. Although right now, chess is still a famous game to high society, especially men.
"Did you find something you like?" Eruhaben asked.
"Not yet." Raziel looked around again. The general store was quite loaded with items which is why it's hard to choose.
Eruhaben looked around, somehow, in the deepest corners of the room saw a piece of brush peeking through the corner of a shelf.
He reached out for it and observed it with keen golden eyes.
"Do you have interest in art?" He asked.
Raziel turned to him with bright wide eyes. "Arts?" He's actually been thinking about it. If he learned much of painting, he might be able to draw his plants into an all new level.
Usually, back in the lab, he takes care of the weapon blueprint with the use of geometric patterns, pass it through the engineering department to get the development plan and have the final color and design approval before letting the higher ups have the finalized output to either approve or reject.
So during those days, Raziel never learned much about arts.
"Then you want to learn?" Eruhaben asked, a faint amusement on his face as he watched the young man stare at the paint brush.
"Yes!" The boy said with determination. His eyes sparkled again like emerald gems being tossed in the light.
"Good!" The golden dragon cleared his throat. A smirk in his lips as he continued. "Now call me, dad-uncle."
Raziel paused. His enthusiasm stopped to an abrupt heart thumping moment and looked at the oh-so-mighty uncle who seemed to have lost it.
The room was suddenly devoured by an awkward silence that only Raziel could feel while his uncle, Eruhaben, had this confident smile that can topple even the heights of mt. Yellia.
How... did this happen?
"Hm?" Eruhaben side eyed his nephew. Go on, call me that so I can anger your good for nothing father more.
Raziel blushed. His cheeks had turned red as he opened his lips. "D-dad-uncle..." and said these words almost whispering almost like a mouse squeaking but his voice can be heard in the entire room.
The shopkeeper felt like his heart melted as he watch this child interact with his uncle. Look! Not many children are very obedient in that age! Even my son wouldn't even want to shop clothes with me because he said I'm treating him like a child.
Even my niece and nephews(not me, hearing uncle Roger's voice) are straightforward kids. They don't want adults interfering with their own interests at that age.
Eruhaben triumphantly smiled, his nose was raised as he boasted to the shopkeeper first. Then later, he will call his good for nothing brother and tell him the good news! Heh, I can already imagine his face.
"Alright, do you have a set of paint and brushes? The price does not matter." Eruhaben confidently stated.
The shopkeeper nodded dutifully. "Of course! We have an entire painting set! Twenty four several sizes and shape of brushes, a mixing plate, five set of pallete knives, and forty pieces, different colors of paint! Also, we have here an easel and canvas!" He happily brought out the items.
The more he brought out things, the more the young man's eyes brightened with curiosity. While Eruhaben on the other hand watched his expression.
He gave his nephew a short headpat before taking out his spatial bag. "Alright, I'll take it all. Calculate it and pack it all up." He said.
The shopkeeper happily obliged. Since this man did not ask for each of the price, he also didn't hold up adding a few silver in them.
"Thank you uncle!"
"Hm? Say it again."
Raziel pursed his lips, and with an embarrassed look he spoke up. "Thank you, d-dad-uncle."
Eruhaben was so happy, he directly sent the recording towards his petty brother. Following a message: "oops I did it again~" -- lol joke. Anyways, he said. "My hand slip. I accidentally recorded my cute nephew and sent it to you."
.
Lol. Pettiness comes in the family of dragons people.
Euclidean probably destroyed mt. Yellia at this point but don't worry~ they are civilized siblings. They only fight with words and Raziel's affection.
Chapter 24: The Great and Mighty! 05
Chapter Text
Euclidean's how to be a king 101:
Euclid: You want to be a king? Pick up an apple and give him a King name.
Author: Why exactly?
Euclid: So that you'll have motivation not to destroy a country and simply just take over it.
Author: How did you do that?
Euclid: I don't know. Human kings are all weaklings so it's so easy to snag a country.
Author: ... wow.
Euclid: Becoming king? Well if you want it, do it.
Author: Sir, I am hooman.
Euclid: Sucks for you then. But honestly, I didn't know becoming a king is so easy.
Author: Bruh... have you looked around and noticed that your elves are losing their lives doing the responsibility that you didn't want?!
Justice-for-overworked-elves!!!
Euclid: Because I'm the king.
Author: *Dies from stress of Euclidean's pettiness*
Euclid: Don't die yet, I'm not done with the story. And what's this chapter that I read that a certain blondie prince bastard sleeps in the same room and on the same bed as little apple when he's in Roan?
Author: *Gulps* *Fake gasp* Nani? Where? How? What? Why?
Euclid: It's a perfect day to kill a certain author~ don't you think, Author-nim?"
//that smile... that damn smile.
Author: I-I thought you told me not to die yet...
Euclid: I can always ask the elves to continue where you left off, right? After all, I am the king.
Author: ohmygahd. What demon have I created?
.
.
.
After some time, Euclidean decided to withdraw.
Be cause he didn't want to argue with someone 'feeble' and left Raziel in his care so he wouldn't be very sad when he dies.
The boy could only sigh as he was reminded again and again by the ancient blue to 'not hold back to stab his 'loving uncle' if he's getting on his nerves.' Before leaving with a smile.
Raziel forced himself to believe that this is very normal. Deluding himself to a thought that he didn't have to stress this one out! So he calmed down later.
Only Raon is my companion. The boy hugged his little brother again, stealing him away from Cale for a while as his only hope of being the most normal dragon he can meet.
Now it was them who were left again. Eruhaben fixed his posture in sitting and cleared his throat.
"Since it has been said and done, I will be teaching this little dragon." He announced.
Raon's mood flipped up again after hearing this. "Did you hear that human, isn't this great?!" He asked.
"Yes, yes." Cale replied.
Eruhaben watched these two different specie. A dragon and a human becoming an odd pair. But isn't Raziel one as well? Having friends with a human prince and this crazy lucky bastard in front of him?
Are the new generation of dragons stepping down to the point where they mingled happily with humans now? Is the standard getting lower and lower as years progress? He wondered as he watched how his nephew and new student snuggled on the couch together.
"I might as well teach you everything since I'm going to die soon." He laughed.
The group looked at the laughing dragon when he said that. Raon looked at him wide eyed. Cale and Rosalyn unconsciously turned their heads towards Raziel who was looking down with pursed lips.
"What did you say Goldie?" The young black dragon asked.
Pendrick also woke up to this scenario and was now even more awake than ever before when he heard Eruhaben say this. "What are you talking about, Eruhaben-nim?" He asked, almost on the verge of tearing up.
Raon left Raziel's hold and flew towards the golden dragon shouting. "Were you poisoned?! Wounded?! Cursed?!" He asked.
Eruhaben stared at the child a bit surprised. "Kid, how can a dragon hurt because of that?" He asked.
"No!" Raon replied. "Then why are you dying soon? You can't die, Razi will be really sad!" He shouted surprising Eruhaben once more that he had abruptly turned to his young nephew who was still looking down with a suppressed expression as if he had a lot to say.
Indeed he had. First of all, he's not going to die yet. Not yet in the span of years, at least. Since he wasn't able to finish the novel himself so he didn't know what's up ahead.
But he knew that Eruhaben have a chance to extend his life because Cale gave him that.
However, seeing Raziel so quiet like this made Eruhaben felt guilty.
"Are you sick?" Raon decided to ask.
"No, it's because I'm old. Which is why I've turned weak." He replied.
He stood up, made his way towards his little nephew and petted his head gently. Raziel slowly lifted his head and looked up to him with green reptilian eyes.
"Everything is bound to stages that we age and die. That is how the law of the world and nature works." He said. "Everything isn't always how you wish them to be."
Of course, Raziel knew that. By heart and soul he knew it. Sixteen years ago, before he was reborn, he had twenty four years of experiencing someone's loss by the law-- not of nature, but a law created by man.
Or you could probably say that... he already died when his friend died protecting him that day. But he was reborn today for a new purpose.
Raziel calmly smiled at him. "That may be true uncle, but I also have a law of myself not even nature can topple it." He replied. He was a scientist and he still is until now. Although nature is what he loved, he is more than willing to destroy a part of it if it meant saving this family.
It didn't matter if he needed to sacrifice others' lives. To wear those white lab gown again and hold those apparatuses.
"A law for yourself? What are you planning to do?"
"A law that bends nature."
Eruhaben frowned. "Do you plan to become a necromancer?" He asked.
Or is it to succumb yourself into the murkiness of black mana and become a creature who lived to function, to become a lich
"No." Raziel stood up. "But I plan to become something bigger so that uncle and dad can stay with me longer." He replied. With Euclidean's age, it is not a wonder if he might die anytime soon just like Eruhaben.
My attribute seemed to be useful for this if I controlled it properly.
"My good natured nephew. You can't go against life." Eruhaben sighed.
"But I can go against time and death." He said with determination. God of whoever it is responsible for me, you put me here for whatever reason you have in mind so don't mind me taking advantage of it. "I know I'm making uncle suffer because I'm selfish, but you can't die yet, okay?"
"Aigoo, this good natured little nephew. Making someone suffer and being selfish is part of being a dragon." Eruhaben said proudly, supporting his nephew on his path of life as a mighty dragon. "If you keep it that way, you might become greater and mightier."
Although this scene was quite touching, but is this how dragons educate other dragons? Making people suffer and being selfish is just the correct attitude? Seriously?
Is this what Eruhaben will teach Raon in the future? Cale was becoming worried about his future when he heard the viciousness that Eruhaben was spouting.
"If it's my nephew who wants me to endure, then I will do so until this weak body of mine can no longer move."
It didn't have to be that excessive. Raziel sweatdropped. He could only smile back trying to hold back his tongue from saying more or he'll just agree to it.d
It's good enough that Eruhaben agreed so he'll just do his best too. Not just for himself but for everyone as well.
"Are you willing to stay here for at least three months?" Eruhaben asked. "I heard Cale Henituse is a noble."
"It should be okay." Cale agreed.
"Human, don't you have to meet the queen of the jungle?" Raon asked.
"...yes?"
"Then go. I'll give you one week." He said then he turned to Raziel. "Because I will be learning from goldie, my great and mighty self will not be able to accompany you so Razi should go there and keep you safe." He said.
The younger redhead turned to Raon and even Eruhaben looked at him with a complicated expression. "Did you just ordered my nephew to protect a human?" He asked.
"Razi and our weak human are childhood friends! Why can't Razi go with him?" Raon asked, his chubby head tilting in confusion.
Raziel chuckled. "Sure, I'll go. It's okay with you right, Cale-hyung?" The boy asked.
"Yes, of course." Cale replied.
Both he and Eruhaben made eye contact then turned to both red and black dragons who were busy snuggling their goodbyes.
"Then I will be back."
"Sure."
Cale stood up from the couch and everyone prepared to follow.
Raziel decided keep quiet the entire time when Eruhaben started saying his cinditiond. The way both Cale and Raon looked at him with a smirk isn't helping as well since both of them seemed to have the cogs of their brains working in a one similar manner.
He didn't even need to turn his head and looked at Eruhaben's expression to know that he was feeling iffy about these people.
It would be pitiful to see his uncle being cluelessly scammed by these group. But for the sake of progress, Raziel will let them scam him. After all, it's for the greater good and it won't really make much of a toll on Eruhaben if he helped a little. In fact, it's good that he's distracted and having fun.
The next day, Cale finally set off together with the unlikely combination he wished he had never known existed.
A group consisting three vicious people, Choi Han, Ron and Beacrox. Together with Raziel and On.
While lamenting why and how this happened, he could only stick around Raziel for extra protection from these people.
'It looks like a team perfect for doing bad things.' He thought.
Raziel knew what he was currently being worried about so he could only sympathetically tapped his shoulder and smiled with reassurance.
--Hyung, don't worry. For now I'm at least ten times stronger than Raon. You'll be fine.
He said through telepathy. If you're scared to these three, then just hide behind me. He thought proudly. Although I know they wouldn't really hurt you, but you do you.
However, instead of calming down, Cale became even more nervous. Ten times? We're no about to destroy the entire jungle, right? He thought.
Raziel sighed when Cale looked at him oddly. 'I can already tell that you're misunderstanding something from I said...'
