Time traveling was fun at first for Karl, seeing the past and future when he was not around on this earth yet. But it had some downsides.
The memory loss that got worse with every trip, constant pounding in his head, glitching of the world, falling in love with people from the past just for them to die... All sorts of things but he couldn't stop, he needed to know the truth.
This was until one day getting pulled aside by Dream, being asked to talk in private. Why him was the question in his mind, but agreed anyway.
~In Private~
"I know your a time traveler," was the first thing he heard out of Dream's mouth as soon as he sat down. Panic coursed threw his veins, how did they know?
"Hey, hey Karl," Dream said, trying to catch the attention of the person in question.
"Y-yeah," came his shaky reply.
"It's OK," they said putting emphasis on the second word, "I won't tell anyone." Could he trust them? Would it be okay in the end? "Plus," they continued, "I wouldn't know unless I was there, so you have something to hold over my head too."
How were they there? He asked as such. Dream paused, Debating on telling the truth or lying after exposing Karl like that. They decided on the former. "I'm an immortal," they answered with, quickly adding, "If you tell anyone, I'll spill your secret too."
Karl was in shock and rightfully so after learning that. It made perfectly good sense on why they did not want to expose the the fact about themselves, like Karl and his time traveling. It suddenly occurred to him though, "Have I seen you before on my travels?"
"Many times," was the reply, "You often spoke to me first out of everyone."
"Really," Karl said in a tone that clearly said tell me more, and so they did. Both sharing stories and bonding all afternoon.
