Work Text:

The summer heat was in full force in Fuyuki City, and everyone had already taken refuge from the humid and sticky air, the blazing sun high above. Rain and its sudden showers were the only respite, all through June, but until then, the refreshing waters would suffice.

That was what both Rin and Saber had in mind. There was a freshwater lake nearby the forests, and the waters were so clean they could see right through the wavering ripples. No one else knew about this place, and they just so happened to find it.

It was perfect. Wearing the swimsuit she wore just for this occasion, Rin jumped right in, plunging into the refreshing depths, and then surfaced back up, her smile growing.

Saber, dressed in her own swimsuit, stood at the edge of the lake, amused by Rin's excitement, but a little nervous at the same time.

"Come on in, Saber, the water's great!" she said, out of breath, her arms and legs wading in the lake.

"I'll be there, it's just that, I haven't had the chance to swim in a while." Saber replied, crossing her arms across her chest, her eyes down.

"Well, you look like you could use a swim, Saber, I'm just saying."

"I will, soon."

"Okay, but if you don't come in, you'll melt," Rin retorted, laughing slightly before swimming backwards, letting herself float up on the surface. She still had the smile on her face, staring up at the sky, and was pretty content.

Saber let her arms fall to her side, gazing upon Rin, as she looked content and at peace, floating on the still waters. She took a deep breath, walking backwards, and then she ran forward, jumping up at the last possible moment and plunging into the waters.

The water was biting, cold, and clear, but as soon as Saber reached the surface, she took a deep breath, swimming over to Rin. It was exhilarating and refreshing, but not as much as Rin suddenly diving in the water and then swimming up to meet Saber's flustered gaze, gasping for air.

"I knew you'd come around eventually." Rin said smugly, a grin still on her face.

"Well, you're right about one thing, it is quite refreshing," Saber replied, a smile growing on her features, moving towards Rin, and then kissing her full on the lips.

Rin stilled, but she then returned Saber's kiss with equal fervor.

It was just the two of them, in their own lake, in their own paradise.

Notes:

Happy Pride Month, everyone~!!!

I've had a bout of writer's block, but I am here and I plan to write all throughout the month of June, especially during Pride Month. I'll be writing for fandoms old and new, and this is definitely a self-imposed challenge. It might be my biggest endeavor yet, so feel free to leave comments and kudos!!
