Chapter Text
After they parted lips, Andrea felt herself flush. Her heart twinged at the sight of Miranda – a ghost of smile seen on her lips.
“You’re red.” Miranda mused.
“Guess I’ll make up another reason huh?” Andrea put her hands on Miranda’s waist, pulling the woman closer. With her head on Miranda’s shoulder, she closed her eyes for a moment. Andrea lets everything be still in the chaotic world she got herself into after she had an affair with the woman.
“Tell your friends you’re out for a run.” Miranda untangled herself, eyes were distant. “You’ll be flushed when you return.”
Andrea’s hand squeezed Miranda’s shoulder, feeling herself nod at the excuse this time. “I’ll go now.” Miranda nodded, not looking at her assistant. Andrea stared at her a second longer, before pulling her hoodie up. She felt the hairs on her nape stand from the cold New York air and the absence of Miranda’s warmth.
With eyes glazing over the wet pavement, she ran. Andrea decided that she would ruin herself for Miranda, a million little times.
