"Please love, just try the ring on first, hm?" Sung Hyeonje coaxed Han Yoojin with a smile, trying to placate his partner— now fiance, who was still mad at him for what happened earlier.

"You have the gall to ask me to put on our engagement ring after what happened earlier?" Han Yoojin glares  at him, crossing his arms in stubborn refusal. Sung Hyeonje’s smile twitches when he remembers what Han Yoojin was so mad about in the first place.

Certainly, it was worth the anger if you look at it from Han Yoojin’s perspective.

“Love, it was just a misunderstanding, right?” Sung Hyeonje’s hand makes its way to Han Yoojin’s arm, snaking its way down towards his hands but Han Yoojin slaps it away.

“I’m still angry at you.”

“But…”

“Sung Hyeonje.” Han Yoojin warns him with a glare, along with the combo of his full name, effectively shutting up the CEO.

The employees looked at the two of them trying to act like they weren’t listening, but neither of the two had any attention to spare towards the employees.

“So who’s in charge of them?”

Employee A looked at Employee C, B and D with a nervous look on her face.

“...”

“...”

“...I’ll go.” Everyone turned their attention towards the man who spoke — let's call him by the alias Employee D, an old-time employee at the shop. They all looked at him with reverence, almost as if they were looking at someone about to sacrifice himself for the greater good.

It would be disastrous if no one were willing to step up to manage the two, even if they were currently in the middle of a lover’s quarrel…

After all, this was the CEO of Seseong Corporation, the greatest company in Korea, even though it didn’t seem quite obvious in his current position.

Employee D took a deep breath as he began walking towards the couple, taking long strides as he did so.

Love was truly a battlefield.

“Excuse me, do you two need some assistance?” Employee D mustered up his courage as he walked up to the couple, one who was glaring at the other while the other tried to keep him calm with a smile, but his smile was faltering slightly.

He almost flinched when the one who was glaring at his fiance turned towards him abruptly, but he heaved a sigh or relief when the man replaced his glare with a smile.

“Ah, I’m sorry for the trouble, but can we come back another day?”

Of course, Employee D’s relief didn’t last long when Sung Hyeonje started glaring at him because Han Yoojin smiled at him.

“No, we are getting the rings fitted today.” Sung Hyeonje stood behind Han Yoojin, smiling at the employee as he high-key threatened the man.

“And who told you that you get to decide that?”

“I'm the one paying for the rings.”

“...oh.”

don’t laugh, don’t laugh, don’t laugh…. the employees all repeated in their own minds.

Han Yoojin resumes glaring at Sung Hyeonje, while the CEO seemed content with his small victory against his fiance.

A small victory that would cost him (omitted) (omitted).

Han Yoojin’s face seemed to say something along the lines of, oh so you want to play it that way? I see how it is, as a devious smile makes its way to his pretty face.

(only Sung Hyeonje would’ve found such an ominous smile pretty.)

“....love?” As pretty as Han Yoojin’s smile was, Sung Hyeonje couldn’t help but feel nervous. This definitely wasn’t the first time he’s seen that smile, but he knows very well that every other time he’s seen it, it never ends well.

“Can I have the ring now, Hyeonje?” Sung Hyeonje wanted to feel relieved when Han Yoojin said that, but he couldn’t help but feel that there was something wrong…

“Here, sir.” Employee D swallows his saliva as he hands the ring to Sung Hyeonje, not missing the way that the CEO glared at him in the process — he glared with a smile, at that.

Han Yoojin slapped Sung Hyeonje’s side lightly when he saw him glare at the poor employee, but Sung Hyeonje only smiled in return.

“Can I put it on your finger?”

“No. I’ll put it on myself.”

(The employees could practically see Sung Hyeonje’s invisible tail and ears drop when Han Yoojin said that. They’ll just pretend they didn’t know for the sake of the CEO’s dignity.)

Just when everything was finally going well and maybe, just maybe the couple could finally get along after whatever happened before they came to the shop — Han Yoojin happened to pull a Han Yoojin.

He slipped the ring onto his middle finger, confusing Sung Hyeonje. “You’re not supposed to put the ring there—?”

Sung Hyeonje felt his sanity crack when Han Yoojin lifted his middle finger up at him.

Han. yoojin. flipped. him. off. with. the. finger. that. held. their. engagement. ring.

A small victory that would cost him his sanity.

“Yoojin-ah, are you sure you want to do this right now?” Sung Hyeonje would’ve thrown Han Yoojin out of the shop if he wasn’t Han Yoojin, but unfortunately, Sung Hyeonje loved him too much.

“Can’t I?” Of course Han Yoojin knew that Sung Hyeonje would be annoyed, but he also used Sung Hyeonje’s love for him as a weapon because there was no way Sung Hyeonje would do anything to him even if he were annoyed.

Han Yoojin had Sung Hyeonje completely under his thumb, and he was definitely making use of that very well (by annoying him)

The employees all inwardly clapped at Han Yoojin’s bravery, watching the spectacle as if Han Yoojin was a tiny pomeranian outsmarting a large husky. Even they could see how much control Han Yoojin had over Sung Hyeonje, Korea’s greatest CEO. (read: how whipped Sung Hyeonje was for Han Yoojin)

“Hyeonje-ya~” Han Yoojin said with a sweet smile, waving his hand at Sung Hyeonje to show off the ring on his finger.

“Love, please.” Sung Hyeonje grabbed Han Yoojin’s hand while it was still in the air, interlocking his fingers with Han Yoojin’s. His whole hand practically engulfed Han Yoojin’s, just because of  their size difference.

“Hm? What do you mean?” Han Yoojin played along with Sung Hyeonje, their faces ever closer to each other as they held hands.

Poor Employee D, standing there awkwardly as a 3rd wheel.

“Please put on the ring properly for me?” Sung Hyeonje looked at Han Yoojin with puppy eyes, batting his eyelashes as he bribed (?) Han Yoojin with his unfairly handsome face.

Unfortunately, Han Yoojin was very weak to Sung Hyeonje’s face.

The moment he turns away with his face beet red, Sung Hyeonje knows that he’s already won.

He fell for it, the employees all said in their minds while Han Yoojin was finally successfully persuaded into wearing the ring properly, all thanks to Sung Hyeonje’s handsome face.

They didn’t know who was more whipped, Han Yoojin or Sung Hyeonje…

Meanwhile, Employee D, standing there as a prop: Is no one going to help me??

Extra :

“Yoojin was mad because I had to take a call during our date?” Sung Hyeonje laughs when he hears Han Yoojin explain later in the car, covering his mouth when a chuckle escaped his lips. The engagement ring on his hand gleamed a sparkling silver, making Han Yoojin blush every time he caught sight of it.

“Don’t laugh at me!” Han Yoojin huffed, crossing his arms as he fiddled with the ring on his finger. “You know, like.. you said you’d have the day off today and then uh, you’d spend all your time with me but.. Someone called you in the middle.”

Sung Hyeonje smiled softly as he looked at Han Yoojin from the corner of his eye.

His partner — fiance, was really too cute.

“My beloved is adorable.”  Han Yoojin flushed at the endearment, making Sung Hyeonje laugh even more.

“Why are you calling me that??”

“Aw, is my darling shy?”

“Focus on the road, you bastard.”

Well. Maybe seeing this side of Han Yoojin wasn’t so bad after all.
