Chapter 1: A Whole New World (lol)
Chapter Text
There was always the expectation of Weiss to be the best of the best. Not just because of her status as an alpha, but because of her family. Particularly, her father. And she hated every second of it. She went to college with the expectation to major in business. Her older sister joined the military right out of high school in an effort to simply get away, and escape their father’s expectations. Winter succeeded. Weiss wasn’t that strong, so here she was, moving into the dorms of Beacon college. Weiss had no idea who her future roommates would be, not really. She just knew she had three of them.
She walked her first steps onto campus, and then was immediately tripped by a running body. Not the greatest first impression. One of the worst actually, is what Weiss was thinking as she fell. She stood up quickly in an effort to retain some dignity and caught a glimpse of raven hair tipped with red ends. Weiss got a better look as she fully stood up. A cute, young girl was on the ground before her, attempting to stand herself. Weiss scoffed at this girl’s clumsiness and didn’t move to help her.
“Watch where you’re going! Do you realize you just knocked me over, along with yourself?” Weiss asked indignantly.
“I’m so sorry! I didn’t see you; I was trying to follow my sister! Um, nice to meet you!” The girl finally stood up.
The girl was wearing a black dress with red accents on the ends of the long sleeves and the ends of the short skirt, and even in the corset strings. Her eyes were pure silver, and she was around the same height of Weiss herself, if not a little taller. She wore combat boots with her dress, a strange combination that this girl was pulling off well. The girl also didn’t have a smell of her rank in the world, which Weiss found strange but didn’t really question. She was too annoyed.
“Weiss Schnee, heir to the Schnee company. I would say it would be a pleasure to meet you as well, but you did just topple me,” Weiss harumped, annoyed.
“Again, I’m really sorry! My name is Ruby Rose, I hope we can be friends!” Ruby said, holding out her hand. Weiss didn’t move.
“Just watch where you’re going next time,” Weiss warned, turning to tend to her things without shaking Ruby’s hand, who awkwardly withdrew it.
“Okay. Uh, see you then,” Ruby bid, before rushing off to presumably catch up with the previously mentioned sister.
Weiss discreetly looked to see if anyone noticed her having fallen due to that girl and found that no one was paying attention. She sighed in relief a little, before getting her suitcases to head to her dorm building. Today was about unpacking around campus, no classes until the next day.
After what felt like forever lugging the huge suitcases of her things, she finally managed to make it in front of the door of her new home for the next four or so years. Weiss unlocked the door and opened it, to find three girls already there. Among them was Ruby Rose.
The other two were equally strangers to Weiss as Ruby was, with the difference being that there was no name to put on their faces. One girl looked vaguely of Ruby, but had shining blonde hair and violet eyes, along with being much taller and more muscley. She wore a bomber jacket and jeans, with a yellow tank top peeking out from under the straining jacket. She smelled to be an alpha, and really, just looking at this woman tipped off Weiss that she was. This woman was lounging on what was her chosen bunk. The other girl wore a black and white ensemble. Black bow on her head, black jacket with white plain shirt underneath and a black skirt, and white thigh-high socks. This girl smelled of an omega, which Weiss didn’t fully expect but sure. She was reading some book; Weiss didn’t really look to see which one.
“Hello! Oh, it’s you. Your name was Weiss, right?” Ruby asked, standing out of the way for Weiss to get her stuff through the door.
“Yes. Hi again,” Weiss said, eye twitching with annoyance. Goddamn it.
“Ruby, don’t tell me this is the person you knocked over? You managed to knock over your future roommate, just by chance!” The blonde said, chuckling.
“It’s fine, I apologized already! Anyways, now that we’re all here, we should all introduce ourselves properly, right?” Ruby said, as Weiss started to unpack a few things.
“Sure. I’ll go first. Yang Xiao-Long, Ruby’s sister,” Yang volunteered, raising her hand. Weiss nodded in Yang’s general direction, not really paying attention.
“I’m Ruby, obviously,” Ruby said, smiling at Weiss sweetly.
“Weiss. Weiss Schnee,” Weiss stated, still putting stuff away.
“Blake Belladonna,” Blake followed suit in simply stating her name, not even looking up from her book.
“Cool. So, who’s up for a party?” Yang asked, smiling smugly.
“Don’t we have classes in the morning? And a dinner orientation?” Blake asked, still not looking up.
“Yeah, but who cares about that?! I got word of this local Sun guy who’s already down to party,” Yang explained with excitement.
“You can go do whatever you want, I’m going to stay here, unpack, and relax like a normal person,” Weiss interjected, hoping to steer the group away from joining any sort of party.
“I wouldn’t expect any less from you Ms. Uptight. Ruby, you’re joining me, right?” Yang asked, tickling her sister.
“Yang, I think we should just go to the dinner orientation and stuff. We should follow expectations on day one at least,” Ruby suggested, pushing her sister away.
“Fine. You all are boring,” Yang said, flopping on her bed.
Weiss unpacked the last of her things soon after the conversations ended, and then went to the bathroom attached to the room to change into one of the school uniforms she was provided with in the mail days ago. As Weiss finished with all the small details of the uniform, she came out to the others having already changed. Guess the other girls didn’t mind changing in front of each other.
“Yo, Weiss, why’d you go to the bathroom to change? We can already see you don’t have many assets, nothing to be embarrassed about,” Yang asked, grinning.
“Shut up Xiao-Long. I am simply uncomfortable with changing in front of others,” Weiss said, her face turning red with indignity.
“Anyways, we should do something while we wait for it to be time to go. How about a game of Truth or Dare?” Yang said, her grin widening in an almost evil way.
“I wouldn’t mind. Might help with simple bonding,” Blake spoke up, finally putting down her blasted book.
“Sure Yang, but please don’t do anything funny,” Ruby said, making a playful smile.
The three looked to Weiss, Yang and Ruby were pleading and Blake was indifferent. Weiss sighed. “I suppose it couldn’t hurt to ‘bond.’”
They sat in a circle on the carpeted floor of the dorm between the bunk beds, though it wasn’t a very big circle given it was a college dorm. Yang appeared to be the most eager to play, so no one had objections to her going first.
“Alright. Weiss, truth or dare?” Yang asked Weiss.
“Why me?” Weiss asked, glaring.
“Because I felt like it. Truth or dare?” Yang said.
Weiss sighed, answering with the least dangerous option, curtly saying “truth.”
“Who’s the prettiest girl in this room, minus yourself?” Yang asked slyly.
Weiss turned red. “Of all the embarrassing questions, why that?”
“Just answer her question, it’ll help get past her damn turn,” Blake said, though there was a hint of curiosity in her voice.
“Ruby, I guess, fuck off,” Weiss said, avoiding any of their gazes.
“Guess the best I’ll get from the Ice Queen. Your turn,” Yang said, shrugging.
“Belladonna, truth or dare?” Weiss asked, thinking she should pick Blake since she said something to her at all.
“Dare,” Blake had a challenge in her voice.
Now Weiss had to think of a dare. Fuck. Weiss tried to think of a basic dare. Taking off clothes was a typical of this game, but Weiss wasn’t fucking lewd, so maybe Weiss could make Blake take off something harmless.
“Blake, take off that bow on your head,” Weiss said, smirking at her to meet her eyes.
Blake looked surprised, “I will do anything else, but I can’t do that.”
Yang looked over at her. “Blake, rules are rules. Take it off, or I’m gonna make you run naked in the hallway,” Yang said, laughing.
“It’s fine, I can think of something else,” Weiss said, trying not to piss off the already on-edge Blake.
Blake looked at the floor in front of her as she slowly reached up and undid her bow. As she took it down, it revealed something Weiss did not expect in the least. Cat ears, fuzzy and black, on top of her midnight head of hair. Yang, Ruby, and Weiss stared quietly, now clearly embarrassed and in shock. Yang swore under her breath, before immediately breaking into apology.
“I’m so sorry, I had no idea. Uh, if it’s any consultation, I don’t care,” Yang said, trying to smooth over the situation.
Weiss nodded and saw Ruby nodding too out of the corner of her eye. Blake shrugged but didn’t say another word for a full minute. The awkwardness hung in the air, before Blake wordlessly replaced her bow, with no one protesting it. She then spoke again.
“Ruby, you haven’t been asked yet. Truth or dare?” Blake said, signaling the game was not over.
“Uh. Truth?” Ruby said, shifting a little on the floor in nervousness.
“You are way too young to be among us. Why are you in college?” Blake asked.
“I skipped a couple grades for high achievement, nothing special,” Ruby said, “and now it’s my turn. So, Weiss, truth or dare?”
“Goddamn it. Truth,” Weiss said. She didn’t really want to deal with this.
“What’s the story behind your scar? It’s really cool looking,” Ruby asked, excited almost.
“And that’s where I quit this game,” Weiss said, standing up.
“I’m sorry, I can ask you something else, I didn’t realize it wasn’t like that!” Ruby said, panic in her voice.
“Nope, I’m not getting exposed like Blake unfortunately was,” Weiss said, walking to the door.
Ruby was suddenly in front of Weiss, giving Weiss whiplash by how fast this girl was. Ruby stood in front of the door with her hands out perpendicular to the floor, her stance widened slightly, to block Weiss’s exit. It infuriated Weiss that this girl was so persistent.
“Out of my way. You shouldn’t be blocking my way out of the room, that’s wrong,” Weiss protested, anger painted on her face.
“Please don’t just leave, we’re supposed to be roommates. We can be there for each other, so just talk to me,” Ruby pleaded.
“Ruby, just give Ice Queen some time, she’ll come around later. Don’t push the poor girl so hard,” Yang interjected, standing up as well to push Ruby to move. Weiss was seething.
“I didn’t come to college to be buddy-buddy with anyone. Move,” Weiss hissed, and Ruby looked at Weiss sadly before following direction.
Weiss opened the door, stalking down the hall. She didn’t really know where she was headed, but anywhere was better than that cursed dorm. They were all just idiots who didn’t get reality. Reality wasn’t kind, and the world wouldn’t welcome sensitivity into it with open arms. No, it was better to simply be the Ice Queen she always was, live up to that nickname she was just given. Her father was right. Of course, he was.

Weiss walked around the courtyard, waiting for her anger to subside or the time to go to orientation, whichever came first. Neither happened, because she spotted the familiar Ruby Rose appear at some point. Weiss didn’t know how much time had passed at that point, but she thought it was only 10 minutes or so.
“Weiss, are you okay? I know what happened was a lot, and I’m really sorry,” Ruby said, running to meet Weiss as she walked with no particular destination.
“I’m fine, apology accepted,” Weiss said, sighing. Despite what happened, she couldn’t stay angry. Ruby was too kind to come out here and try to cheer her up.
“Really? That’s good. I was worried you would try to like, move dorms or something,” Ruby said, laughing nervously.
“I wouldn’t do that over some stupid game that went badly. It’s only day one,” Weiss said, giving a soft smile. She hoped it was enough for Ruby to relax a little. Weiss didn’t know why she was concerned with Ruby relaxing, but she was.
“That’s really good. I hope that- Wait, something not right,” Ruby said, stopping in tracks.
“What?” Weiss said, also stopping. She was confused to say the least, concerned as well.
“I can smell you… you’re an alpha, right?” Ruby said, sniffing the air. Oh no.
“When’s your birthday?” Weiss asked, fearing the answer.
“It’s in a week, but Yang said the awakening wouldn’t happen for at least another few days…” Ruby said, confused.
“Sometimes it can happen early. Shit. We need to get you back to the dorm now,” Weiss said, grabbing Ruby’s hand and leading her away.
As they walked, Ruby remained silent, which concerned Weiss, but they didn’t have a moment to talk about that. Weiss also felt her body heating up weirdly, and she questioned it as she walked. Why would she be heating up? Her rut shouldn’t be for a little while, unless Ruby was going to awaken as an omega in heat right next to her. Shit. The situation couldn’t be worse.
As they finally made it back to the dorm, thankfully Blake and Yang weren’t there. Weiss supposed they left for the orientation. Weiss quickly pulled Ruby into the special isolation room attached to each dorm for students experiencing heat or rut, and turned around to leave and shut to soundproof, smell proof door. But then she realized she herself was absolutely warm. Shit. There wasn’t a second isolation room per dorm, because only one is required in schools of any kind. Maybe Weiss could make it to a teacher before she lost her mind though. Before she could make a decision, Ruby pulled her hand to get her attention. Weiss turned, irritated a little for a reason she couldn’t place. Probably raging hormones.
“Weiss, I hate to alarm you, but you don’t smell like an alpha. I was trying to tell you before you dragged me here,” Ruby said, not meeting her eyes.
“What?” Weiss couldn’t believe her ears.
Weiss wordlessly turned around from Ruby, and she heard Ruby turn away, assuming rightfully that Weiss was going to check. Weiss quickly shoved her hands under her uniform skirt and her panties, and instead of finding her dick, instead she found a vagina. And she was wet as hell.
“Shit! WTF is happening?!” Weiss said, alarmed.
“I don’t know… But you’re driving me insane with your smell…” Ruby said quietly.
Oh shit. Ruby must be an alpha. Betas didn’t have heats or ruts like omegas or alphas did. They lived on a different existence, more free from that. Sure, if they submitted to an alpha or topped an omega, they would get those experiences, but they otherwise lived without it. Weiss didn’t envy that, as they didn’t get the same level of pleasure from what her teachings in school told her. Weiss didn’t turn around to face Ruby, her face red and she was unsure of what to do. If she was an omega now, some unknown alpha could easily take advantage of her heat.
“Ruby, you should try to find a teacher to get a different isolation room. I can’t go out there now as an omega, someone might take advantage,” Weiss said.
Ruby didn’t say anything, but she heard some shuffling from behind her. Weiss turned around just in time to see Ruby approaching her, a look of hunger in her eyes. Weiss stepped back, despite every fiber of her body telling her to step forward and submit to Ruby.
“Ruby, wait! You can’t… We can’t do this!” Weiss said, backing into the wall.
“I’m not going to do anything to you… Unless you want me to. You are really pretty anyway,” Ruby whispered as she got closer, inches away but not touching her.
“I… Ruby. We cannot do this. You aren’t in your right mind, and neither am I,” Weiss was attempting to stay away, but her body was fighting it. Her hand stood in the air between them, shaking.
“If we do, we’ll relieve both our conditions. It’s my first time, so you won’t get pregnant, and I promise you I won’t mark you…” Ruby said, laying out the terms.
Weiss attempted to think for a moment. Her body screamed for her to just say yes. Weiss did admit it would be an optimal solution to the current situation. Ruby was probably too far gone to make a good decision should she go out there, and the same could be said for Weiss. Weiss slowly walked past Ruby, who initially lowered her head in rejection, before Weiss closed and locked the door to the bunker that was the isolation room.
“Fine, Ruby. Just… don’t go crazy,” Weiss said, looking at her feet.
Ruby went into action, grabbing Weiss and all but throwing her on the bed of the chamber. Weiss squeaked in surprise, but that noise was silenced as Ruby clumsily climbed on top of her. Weiss thought Ruby would be shyer about this, given her initial impression of Ruby, but it appeared that Ruby might have been too lust-drunk to give any of her actions any pause. Ruby was quick to pull Weiss into her, looking into her eyes.
“You’re sure about this? We can still stop,” Ruby said, though it was clear Ruby couldn’t really stop if she wanted to.
“I wasn’t lying when I said I thought you were the prettiest out of my roommates,” Weiss said, her own heat fueling her words.
“Alright then,” Ruby said, and those were the last real words to be spoken that night for a long, long time.
Ruby leaned down and kissed Weiss, and Weiss swore it was the most sensual kiss she ever experienced. Not that she’d kissed many people. Her body yearned for more though, and so did Ruby’s because they ground against each other over their clothes. Weiss had to hold back her voice, despite only touching over clothing she felt better than anything before.
As the night continued on, Ruby eventually got more and more bold, settling into her dominant role. Weiss was conflicted, she was sliding into her submissive one better than anticipated. Weiss knew deep down she hated being an alpha. She hated every single thing about it. But after the years of treatment and training of an alpha, Weiss still seemed to reject all that rather easily. Weiss felt Ruby dip under her clothes before she saw it, only then did Weiss realize her eyes were closed in bliss. She opened them to watch Ruby as she slid her hands under Weiss’s uniform shirt, massaging her pale, taut belly. Weiss didn’t object in the slightest, instead basking in the sensation.
Ruby went to the buttons that held Weiss’s shirt together, keeping Ruby from Weiss’s bare stomach and bra. Pop, pop, pop went the buttons, some almost being ripped from the fabric in Ruby’s haste. Weiss decided to hold onto Ruby’s shoulders as it happened, still trying to muffle her own voice uselessly. Weiss knew it would come out eventually, but she could at least hold onto that restraint a little longer.
Ruby wasn’t planning on that however, because as the shirt was discarded, Ruby went to push up Weiss’s bra and suckle on Weiss’s chest. That got the reaction Ruby was looking for, Weiss couldn’t keep her voice from slipping past her teeth then. The muffled cry was joined by a pleased noise from the other, and those noises only continued in the air as Ruby continued to tease Weiss’s nipples. Occasionally a swear could be heard from the heiress.
When Ruby decided she’d teased Weiss’s nipples enough, Weiss was a panting mess. Weiss had no idea being the receiver for the most part could be so good. But the dance certainly wasn’t over, and Weiss squealed as Ruby shoved a hand up Weiss’s skirt. But Weiss had decided that Ruby was wearing far too many clothes and tugged at Ruby’s shirt. Ruby seemed displeased to have to stop teasing Weiss for a moment but complied with Weiss’s silent request.
As soon as the shirt was off, Ruby went right back to where she was, earning a second squeal from Weiss. Ruby took that a step further too, lifting the skirt so that Ruby’s head was under it. Weiss was unhappy but flustered to see the bunched-up skirt with the knowledge of Ruby underneath it. Weiss felt teeth bluntly scraping against the pulse of her thigh, and Weiss was forced to fist the blankets underneath her.
Ruby only continued her relentless teasing in another area now, licking as Weiss’s core over her panties. Weiss let out an unfiltered moan, unable to hold back in the slightest. Weiss could only imagine when the cloth barrier would be removed. Weiss didn’t have to attempt to imagine for long though, as the undergarment was moved aside under the skirt and Ruby licked directly. That caused Weiss to almost let go for the first time that night, barely catching herself by the skin of her teeth. Ruby was not making it easy for Weiss.
Ruby continued to lap at Weiss’s folds as if it was the most delicious thing Ruby ever had, and Weiss was coming undone quickly. Weiss released one hand from the sheets to pull at Ruby’s arm, attempting to make Ruby let up. But Ruby didn’t seem to get the message, or outright ignored it, and continued until Weiss screamed in pleasure. Ruby only stopped when Weiss seemed to stop convulsing for the most part, only left with small twitches here and there. That was when Ruby reappeared from under the skirt, at which point she removed the skirt. Ruby also removed the rest of her clothes and growled in impatience while waiting for Weiss to recenter.
Weiss eventually met Ruby’s eyes again, and then promptly looked away. Weiss looked down when she averted her gaze and saw Ruby’s dick as Ruby hovered by Weiss. Weiss was too far into her heat to be embarrassed by the sight now, and instead turned over to present herself. If she was in her right mind, she would be cringing at what she was doing, but she couldn’t give two shits in the moment. Ruby growled in approval, mounting Weiss and kneeling over her. Ruby rubbed herself against Weiss’s pussy, spreading the gathered wetness on her dick and over Weiss’s thighs. Weiss let out a lewd moan, shaking in anticipation.
Ruby grabbed onto Weiss’s hips, holding Weiss in place as she carefully inserted herself. Weiss whimpered in pain a little, and Ruby gently licked at Weiss’s pulse point to attempt to ease Weiss a little. As Ruby managed to get herself fully inside, she waited until Weiss had signaled, she was comfortable. It took only moments for Weiss to buck back into Ruby, signaling she was ready, and Ruby threw her hips back and forward. Weiss couldn’t do much but buck back slightly as she was pounded into the bed, Ruby couldn’t hold back if she wanted to. There was no buildup really, but that didn’t seem to affect Weiss too much. She was in pure bliss all the same. Ruby was in a similar position. Ruby worked Weiss’s body as she rutted into Weiss, massaging Weiss’s clit with one hand and a pert breast with the other. Weiss didn’t have the same access from her position but did her best to buck and squeeze from below. There was a resounding slap of wet flesh each time hips met, and eventually, Ruby started to go harder to attempt to get her knot inside.
Weiss was on the verge of passing out from the sheer pleasure. Weiss wanted to feel the bite to her shoulder, but the small part of her that was still sane fought with the rest. It hoped that Ruby still had enough control left in her to honor the earlier promise, but she knew that might not be feasible anymore. Weiss screamed out in pleasure when she suddenly felt the knot pop inside, and Ruby bit down on the pillows beside Weiss’s shoulders. Weiss whined in sadness, despite knowing it was for the best, but the overwhelming pleasure of being filled at that point clouded that sadness away. Ruby was in a state of pleasure as well, too far away to register Weiss’s whine. They lay there panting together for a while, waiting for the knot to go down. Just one round may not satisfy their biology, but they would have a moment of sanity as they waited.
“Ruby… fuck that just happened…” Weiss whispered, in pure disbelief.
“What am I going to tell Yang?” Ruby said, worrying above Weiss.
“No idea. I have no idea how either of us are going to tell anyone about this,” Weiss said, sighing in frustration. What happens when they come out and everyone can smell her changed role? What happens when her siblings and father smell it?
“Weiss… Do you think this meant something? Since you changed and stuff, do you think we’re like, soulmates?” Ruby asked quietly, clearly scared of getting a negative response.
“Hell no! This was simply a strange coincidence and event that makes no sense. Trying to make sense of it won’t help anyone,” Weiss said, her voice slightly shrill. She would not get feelings for this dolt.
Ruby was silent, obviously trying to contemplate what to think. Weiss felt some sympathy, given this wasn’t going to be easy on Ruby either, but it was going to be much, much harder on Weiss. This wasn’t something that happens, an alpha becoming an omega. She only heard of it happening one other time in history, and it was due to extenuating circumstances that she could not remember in the least at the moment. Eventually, Ruby’s knot calmed down enough for her to pull out, and Weiss got to sit up a little for a moment. She buried her head in her hands, trying to think clearly. She could feel Ruby’s eyes on her, but she paid no mind.
“Weren’t you the one telling me not to try to make sense of this?” Ruby asked, trying to get Weiss’s attention.
“Shut up. This is your fault. Ugh,” Weiss blamed, though she didn’t really mean it.
Despite everything going on in her mind, she felt a strange sense of freedom. She wasn’t her father’s vision anymore; she couldn’t be now. By all means she should be frightened, and way more upset, but instead, she felt ready to embrace her new identity. She wanted this, but at the same time, could this really be true?
“Weiss, I’m so sorry…” Ruby looked down at her hands, clearly uncomfortable and even sad.
“I’ll admit, this isn’t ideal, but it’s not the end of the world. I… never really wanted to be an alpha…” Weiss whispered slowly.
“Huh?” Ruby was extremely confused now.

“I’m serious Ruby,” Weiss reaffirmed to Ruby, a little louder. Maybe opening up might not be such a bad thing?
“I don’t doubt that I’m just very surprised. Your first impression certainly didn’t tip me off,” Ruby giggled a little.
“What’s funny? I see no humor here,” Weiss said, her first instinct always being to pull away aggressively.
“Sorry, I wasn’t laughing at you, more at the situation,” Ruby said nervously.
“And what’s funny about the situation?” Weiss pressed, though she felt this conversation wouldn’t last much longer as the familiar sense of heat was attempting to climb its way back to the forefront of her mind.
“Just like, I can’t help but feel the coincidences are getting a little too many,” Ruby thought. Weiss peeked out from her curled knees, mainly because she could practically feel the sheer desire burning between them again.
“What are you getting at?” Weiss asked, trying to keep her eyes from drifting away from Ruby’s face, lest they go downwards.
“I wouldn’t mind if we, you know, were a couple after this is over?” Ruby asked with dangerous hope in her voice.
“I thought I shut that down earlier,” Weiss started, but Ruby quickly started speaking again which forced Weiss to stop out of her taught politeness.
“I know you did, but people are going to talk. We’ll come out, Yang and Blake will smell it, Yang isn’t exactly a quiet person, and then the rumors start. And I may be young, but I’m not stupid. You’ll be the targeted one,” Ruby explained, her impatience meant she sped up her speech pattern as she went.
“So what exactly is it you’re looking to extort from me?” Weiss accused, regretting not walking out of the bunker now.
“Nothing! I was going to suggest we at least pretend to be together so that nobody will threaten you! I’m not cruel, Weiss,” Ruby said, almost offended.
“Dolt! I don’t need you to protect me, I’ll be fine on my own!” Weiss shouted, but the sudden anger just added to the heat on her. Ruby took a deep breath in, and Weiss could see her shudder as she breathed in all of Weiss’s scent.
“I’m sorry. I’ll show just how sorry I am, if you’ll allow me,” Ruby proclaimed, reaching her hand toward Weiss.
“This isn’t fair…” Weiss practically sobbed, knowing she’ll be just as helpless to the heat in moments.
“Weiss, please, I’m trying… Let me help,” Ruby pleaded, putting her hand on Weiss’s unsuspecting shoulder. Weiss flinched but didn’t pull away.
“I don’t want your help, you’ve done enough,” Weiss resigned, and she could see how the comment hurt Ruby in her sad eyes.
“I won’t do more if you truly don’t want me to, I can resist it. I won’t just mindlessly… do it either. That feels wrong,” Ruby said, though Weiss highly doubted Ruby was strong enough to resist in her first ever rut.
“Don’t be stupid. Let’s just get through this, then I’ll go deal with my life and you can live on in yours,” Weiss said, letting her legs stretch out to uncover her front. She could see Ruby looking at her with hunger, though she was attempting to resist.
Ruby sighed, shaking in her head in clear frustration, but she moved to cup Weiss’s cheeks, which all but forced Weiss to stare Ruby in the eye. Ruby pulled Weiss into an almost bittersweet kiss, before of course biology took over. Ruby pulled Weiss into her lap, causing Weiss to shudder as Ruby’s dick was sandwiched between them. Weiss couldn’t help as she grinded herself against Ruby, pulling moans from both of them. Weiss could feel the tear tracks itching her face, but she ignored them in favor of trying to release the coil already forming in her lower gut.
“You are way too cute for your own good…” Ruby mumbled, pulling Weiss upwards to align them together.
“Don’t say such a call- oh!” Weiss was cut off as Ruby pushed her hips down, and it forced her breath out of her in a pleasant surprise.
“What was that? I didn’t quite catch that,” Ruby was smirking into Weiss’s shoulder, and Weiss would be angry at the cheekiness if she wasn’t too busy trying to push back up against Ruby’s hands.
“Shut up and fuck me so we can get out of here,” Weiss demanded, but Ruby kept her hips steady.
“Beg. Beg me to fuck you,” Ruby said, despite her shaking hands telling Weiss she wanted to get on with it just as badly.
“Ruby, I swear to god-” Weiss started to complain, but Ruby reached between them and started to slowly circle Weiss’s clit. Weiss gasped, biting her lip to suppress the moan threatening to burst forth.
“Fine! Please, fuck me,” Weiss begged begrudgingly.
“More, beg more,” Ruby clearly had only half of her wits about her.
“Ruby, just please do it!” Weiss shouted, and Weiss guessed Ruby couldn’t wait any longer, because Ruby finally used one hand to bring Weiss’s hips up before slamming them back down.
Weiss moaned loudly, unable to care at that moment since her body finally got what it was so desperately craving. Ruby herself groaned in pleasure, before bringing her other hand back to Weiss’s hips to move Weiss up and down on her lap. Weiss held onto Ruby’s shoulders, at that point just along for the pleasurable ride. That was until Ruby leaned back, bringing Weiss down with her. Ruby forced Weiss to sit up, growling at her.
“Fuck yourself on me. I want to watch you lose yourself,” Ruby had lost herself to her desires, and Weiss had too, because she obliged.
Weiss held herself steady by balancing with her hands on Ruby’s lower chest, lifting herself up and down and back and forth. Weiss threw her head back in absolute ecstasy, she was close, but she needed just a little more. She could tell that Ruby was approaching the end as well, as one of her hands moved to stroke Weiss’s smaller than average breasts and the other started to push down on Weiss’s hips as she thrust up, trying to squeeze the knot inside.
After a few more moments, the knot finally popped inside, and Weiss all but screamed as her vision turned white as her hair. Ruby herself bit harshly into her own lips and tongue, causing her tongue to bleed, but Ruby didn’t really acknowledge the pain, only the pleasure. It took a bit for them to come down to earth again, because every time Weiss felt done, she’d feel a twitch, causing Weiss to flutter or shudder and that would cause more twitching. That faded too though eventually.
“How much longer will this go on?” Ruby asked, wondering what the time even was at this point.
“I think at least two more days of this, from what I know,” Weiss speculated, but she was drawing mostly a blank. That was when she was an alpha, but she had no idea if omegas went for the same length.
“Do you think we should try to get word that we’re in here?” Ruby asked, worry painted on her face.
“I’m sure Blake and Yang would have figured it out by now, it’s been a while,” Weiss gently attempted to separate herself from Ruby, and Weiss successfully pulled herself away with a whimper.
“Be careful Weiss, you okay?” Ruby asked, worried by Weiss’s whimper.
“I’m fine. Let’s just get through this,” Weiss said.

It took three more days for Weiss’s heat and Ruby’s rut to subside. Thankfully, Ruby kept to her promise and never marked Weiss, at least not with a mating mark. Weiss carefully put on her discarded uniform that she had come in with, and Ruby put on her clothing as well. Ruby hadn’t had her uniform on before it all went down, instead having a simple skirt and t-shirt. Weiss opened the bunker door, finding it was the dead of night and their roommates were asleep, though not for long, as they woke up to the sound of the bunker opening. Yang got up with a start, her face twisted in anger as she glared at Weiss, though it turned into a more confused frown as she approached.
“I was going to kill you, because I thought Ruby went into heat and you took advantage of that, but…” Yang seemed deflated, at least until Ruby crashed into Yang.
“Yang! I missed you!” Ruby hugged Yang, who attempted to pull herself away.
“Ruby, you fucking stink! Go take a shower!” Yang yelled, pushing Ruby away.
“Have Weiss go with you,” Blake commented, nose wrinkled.
“I’m not taking a shower at the same time as Ruby, that’s gross,” Weiss said, face red.
“What do you mean, isn’t Ruby your mate now?” Yang asked, confused.
“No, she’s not, it just happened,” Weiss said, pinching the top of nose in exasperation.
There was silence among the four, Yang and Blake were staring at Weiss, Weiss was staring at her shoes and Ruby was similarly looking anywhere that wasn’t a person. No one said anything as Ruby gathered some pajamas and walked into the bathroom, shutting the door, Weiss sat at the desk to wait her turn, and Yang and Blake returned to their beds. Yang eventually broke the silence as the water turned on.
“So, uh, Weiss, why exactly aren’t you two mates?” Yang asked, awkward.
“Why the hell would I be her mate? I barely know her,” Weiss answered, angry that now Yang was asking the same thing.
“You know that people are going to ask why the great Weiss Schnee is suddenly an omega. I think you should at least pretend to be with Ruby, for your own sake,” Yang said.
“Ruby said the same thing, but I’m fine on my own,” Weiss said, tired of the same thing being told to her twice.
“You won’t be,” Blake spoke up, seriousness in her tone rather than boredom.
“What do you mean? I’m not helpless,” Weiss snapped, angry that it was being insinuated that she couldn’t defend herself.
“You will be against multiple alphas at once. Not everyone is kind, very few are in fact. Do as Yang suggest, and it will be much easier. Trust me on that,” Blake said, as if she was speaking from experience, and Blake has been an omega all her life, so she probably does.
“You could do much worse than my sister. You might find that you quite like her. I always wanted to be rich, so if Ruby gets a rich girlfriend that’ll be perfect,” Yang surmised, smirking deviously.
“Shut up. When Ruby is out of the shower and I’ve had mine, I’ll think about it, but no promises,” Weiss relented, attempting to get them off her back.
With that, the water shut off, and Weiss gathered her own pajamas and waited for Ruby to come out. As she did, Weiss slipped past her into the bathroom, getting into the shower and cleaning the grime off her. She scrubbed herself as much as she could, trying to get rid of the scent of roses and strawberries all over her. She washed her long hair, hoping it wasn’t too wrecked after what happened, and found that it was returning to its silky texture thankfully. Eventually, Weiss supposed she was clean as she could be, turning off the water and hopping out. As she walked back out of the shower, she saw Ruby, Yang, and Blake looking at her expectantly.
“What?” Weiss asked, a little perturbed.
“Have you made a decision?” Ruby asked, hope in her voice.
“I… need more time to think on it,” Weiss said, shaking her head in dismissal before getting onto her bed.
“Alright. You should make it before we head out next morning, be prepared for some confrontation if you decline,” Yang warned, settling onto her own bed.
“Right,” Weiss shivered, she hated the idea of what alphas might do about her new status.
Weiss was thrust into a dream, a surprisingly pleasant one. She was the mother of many little children, running around with crimson or white hair, Ruby was sitting beside her watching the kids. Weiss felt warm and loved, and she felt more at home than she ever had in her life. Their little house in the countryside, enjoying a pleasant family life. Weiss woke up as the sun was rising and sat up. She heard movement, and Ruby appeared beside her.

Chapter Text
“Ruby…?” Weiss was groggy and not exactly very mentally present; her eyes were barely open.
“Sorry, I uh, can’t sleep, and I was wondering if I could… share the bed with you?” Ruby asked, blushing.
Weiss, ever so unawake and unthinking, nodded and scooted over for Ruby, who promptly got under the warm covers. Weiss then seemed to realize what she agreed to, her eyes snapping open as the scent of the alpha washed over her. Roses and strawberries filled her nostrils, and she couldn’t help but feel pleased instead of alarmed, despite her thoughts attempting to rouse her to that point. Weiss’s face became very red, but the weight next to her only lulled her deeper into the calmness of the moment. Weiss almost didn’t realize she fell asleep again until she heard an alarm going off, waking her up from a dreamless sleep.
“Ugh… That was a weird dream…” Weiss mumbled, still not quite registering what was a dream and what was not.
Weiss flipped over to get out of bed, and instead just smashed her face into Ruby’s breasts. Weiss grew extremely red, and she screamed, waking everyone up if they weren’t already awake. Ruby fell out of the bed in astonishment.
“What’s going on?! Ruby, why are you on the floor?!” Yang sat up and appeared to be in Blake’s bed. Weiss looked very confused and somehow more red.
“Ruby got in my bed at night! And why are you in Blake’s bed?!” Weiss shouted, while Ruby stood up groggily.
“While you and Ruby were in the bunker, Blake and I got together, obviously,” Yang said nonchalantly, earning a smack from Blake apparently as the cat-woman’s hand appeared from nowhere to slap Yang’s face.
“Shut up, it isn’t like that, and you know it,” Blake said, blushing, also sitting up.
“...Yet,” Yang finished, earning a second smack.
“Weiss, you said it was fine last night,” Ruby complained, sounding hurt.
“I was also half-asleep! Goddamn it, Ruby,” Weiss felt embarrassed, how could she have allowed Ruby into her bed so carelessly?
“I’m sorry, I didn’t realize you’d regret it in the morning,” Ruby said, gathering a uniform from her designated drawer to get dressed.
“I… don’t regret it, just don’t ask when I’m not half-asleep next time,” Weiss said, the look of sadness on Ruby’s face forcing Weiss to say something to appease it.
“Okay,” Ruby said simply, though she still seemed a little disappointed.
“So, Weiss, are you going to accept Ruby as your alpha or are you gonna try to brave the other alphas being assholes?” Yang said carelessly, getting out from under the covers and stretching, revealing her midriff under her too-small tank top.
“I think I’ll be fine, I’m not helpless,” Weiss said, Yang’s words making Weiss feel defiant. She hated when people suggested to her what to do with their wording, just like her father would do.
Blake shook her head dismissively. “Your funeral.”
“I don’t think it’s really that big of a deal, right?” Weiss said, searching Blake’s face. Weiss wasn’t stupid, far from, obviously Blake had the most insight than anyone else in the room.
“Like I said, your fucking funeral,” Blake said, almost hostile.
“Blake, what the hell?” Weiss said, confused and angered by the aggressiveness.
“None of you get it. None of you come close to understanding how hard it is to be an omega sometimes, and you are in for a really rude awakening. Given what’s happened, every alpha is going to say something to you. A little, rich, newly awakened, and single omega? You will be hounded by alphas trying to take you as their's, and I doubt the teachers will even be able to stop it,” Blake seethed at Weiss, clearly there was something a little more to it in her words. The group was silent for a moment, and Weiss stared at Blake in almost shock. Weiss never even thought about it the way Blake explained it, of course Weiss hadn’t, she’d been alpha until now.
“Blake, why don’t we go get breakfast?” Yang said nervously, obviously trying to appease the Faunus.
“Sure, it’ll give these two time to be alone and resolve the issue,” Blake said, getting up and picking up some clothes, signaling for everyone else to do so.
As if it was a practiced routine, Weiss went to the bathroom to shower while the others were outside waiting, and they took turns using the shower and changing into their uniforms for the day. Eventually, everyone was done with their morning routines, and Yang and Blake left to get their breakfast while Ruby and Weiss stayed behind as the group had discussed (or rather Blake had ordered). Ruby sat down beside Weiss on the bunk, while Weiss stared at the floor.
“Just get it over with. I suppose it really is best if you claim me for the time being,” Weiss said, the words feeling alien for her to say.
“Right. Um, hold still,” Ruby said, slowly bringing her hands up to move Weiss’s hair out of the way.
Weiss held as still as possible and Ruby moved her hair and clothes aside on her shoulder, before licking the spot Ruby had chosen, right where her neck became her shoulder. Weiss couldn’t help the small noise that she let out, or the pleased scent she unknowingly released to Ruby. Before Ruby could actually bite down, Weiss panicked and pushed Ruby away. The closeness was unsettling, the beating of her heart was freaking her out. Ruby looked at her questioningly, and a little… upset? Weiss couldn’t place the emotion on Ruby’s face.
“I’m sorry, I can’t do this, this is too much for me,” Weiss said, standing up to leave.
“Weiss, wait, at least walk with me,” Ruby said, standing up as well.
“Right,” Weiss said, putting her hand over her chest in an effort to calm her furious heart rate.
“I’m sorry…” Ruby started to apologize, obviously not okay with how Weiss was reacting.
“It’s fine, I guess you should just hang around me when you can,” Weiss said, appeasing the alpha’s sadness instinctively.
“Of course,” Ruby nodded, and Weiss opened the door for them.
As they walked down the stairs of the dorm building, Weiss could see and smell other alphas trying to get her attention subtly, despite Ruby staring down whichever ones got too close for Ruby’s comfort. Weiss could also smell Ruby’s irritation getting worse and worse as they continued through the campus to the cafeteria. It spiked when a male alpha stopped in front of them, smirking down at Weiss.
“Hey baby girl, why don’t you hang around a real alpha? I’m certain this whelp wouldn’t be nearly as good as I am,” He licked his lips at Weiss, and Weiss felt the panic rising in her. Is this truly what Blake meant?
“Watch it asshole,” Ruby growled, grabbing Weiss’s hand protectively. Weiss felt herself sink into the role of submissive to Ruby’s protective aura, standing back and behind Ruby a little to let Ruby take the lead.
“That omega isn’t marked; I can smell it. Back down little girl, let me have the omega,” The opposing alpha snarled at Ruby, and Weiss saw the altercation catching a teacher’s attention.
“Cardin! This behavior is unacceptable, this school does not tolerate harassment. This is a verbal warning, next time I catch this behavior, I will alert the headmaster,” The teacher shouted at the guy, who growled but walked away.
“I’m so sorry you two. You are Ruby Rose and Weiss Schnee, yes? I’m Professor Glinda Goodwitch. Yang and Blake already alerted the school about the situation, though they didn’t mention the specific circumstances of the ranks. Don’t hesitate to let us know if anything else happens please,” The professor said, a look of pity in her eyes.
“Of course, professor, thanks!” Ruby said, her demeanor changing with Cardin gone, though Weiss could still smell the edge in Ruby’s scent.
“I’d also suggest that Weiss go to the nurse’s office at some point today, perhaps to help her with her unique situation,” Goodwitch suggested, pointing to the student union building nearby.
“Of course, Miss. I plan to whenever my schedule allows,” Weiss piped up.
“Best of luck, Weiss,” Goodwitch said, before walking off to lecture other students messing around with the fountain.
“At least she’s nice,” Ruby said, not letting go of Weiss’s hand as she pulled Weiss along towards the cafeteria.
“Yes, I hope she can help keep some of the riff-raff off my back for the time being,” Weiss said, allowing Ruby to pull her along.
“I hope so too,” Ruby said, a bit of anxiety in her voice.
They entered the cafeteria and got in line for food. Ruby spotted her sister and Blake sitting with a group at a table, and led Weiss there, and Weiss had no choice but to follow, despite her hesitation with disobeying Blake’s suggestions.
“There you two are! Took you guys long enough!” Yang said, waving them over as she saw them.
Blake looked up from a book she was reading beside Yang, sniffing the air. Yep, she could smell that Weiss wasn’t marked. She frowned heavily but didn’t say anything. The other people sitting with them didn’t make any remarks towards Weiss or Ruby as they sat down, but Weiss could tell from their faces that they knew what was going on.
“So, you’re Yang’s sister! Nice to meet you, Ruby!” One of the girls, wearing a pink theme with her uniform said, smiling widely at Ruby. She had pink heart barrettes in her hair, pink gloves with hearts cut out on them, the works. Any accessory that could be added was pink, though this girl’s hair was ginger, and she was covered in freckles.
“Ruby, this is Nora, that’s Pyrrha, that’s Jaune, and that’s Ren,” Yang said, introducing each person at the table.
Nora was the pink-obsessed ginger, a beta. Juane was a mousey blonde omega, Ren was a dark-haired beta with a pink streak in his hair not unlike Nora’s chosen shade of pink, and Pyrrha was a tall fiery-headed Amazonian alpha. Weiss instantly recognized Pyrrha as a model for many magazines, and her eyes widened at the sight of her. Ruby seemed to sense Weiss’s interest in Pyrrha, gripping Weiss’s hand tighter under the table whilst looking at Pyrrha with hesitant curiosity.
“It’s lovely to meet your sister and your other roommate, Yang,” Pyrrha said sweetly.
“Weiss would be Ruby’s mate-to-be, though Weiss is being a stick in the mud about it,” Yang remarked, almost smug about it.
“That’s not-” Weiss started, but Yang cut her off.
“Anyways, Pyrrha, you and Ren take pretty good notes. Do you guys think you can help my sis and Weiss catch up in their classes? I already know that Ren has all of Ruby’s classes, though I don’t know Weiss’s schedule,” Yang asked, smiling sweetly in an almost suck up way.
“Of course. Weiss, what classes do you have?” Pyrrha asked, her tone sweet as honey.
“Oh um, I’m a business major,” Weiss said, pulling out her schedule.
“Oh hey, you have a lot of classes with Blake actually,” Yang remarked, looking at Weiss’s schedule. Oh no.
“I can cover any classes that Blake can’t then, I believe Blake doesn’t have the statistics class for example, but I do,” Pyrrha said.
“Great, that’s settled then!” Yang said, proud of herself for managing to get things lined up for studying.
The rest of breakfast was spent with four people of the eight getting Weiss and Ruby caught up with notes, the other half chatting. Weiss got a feel of each person, though it was tense most of the time. Pyrrha and Juane were head-over-heels for each other, but neither would make a damn move on it, and then Ren and Nora were already together openly. Weiss couldn’t help but feel tense every time Blake talked to her, there was a stiffness in Blake’s every word. Ruby was also very tense, spiking her scent every time Pyrrha spoke to Weiss despite it being obvious to everyone that Pyrrha had interest in Juane and not Weiss.
As breakfast ended, Weiss felt confident that she was up to speed on classes she had missed. She went to her first class, which she shared with Blake, and Blake only. Weiss felt a new sense of worry now, realizing that she would have no protection in the class though. Ruby walked her to the door, before departing for her own class, and Weiss decided to sit up in front of the class so that she was very much in sight of the teacher. Weiss tensed up as she saw the male alpha from earlier walk in the door, Cardin, and sit directly behind her. This wasn’t going to end well.
The class itself was uneventful, but Weiss felt Cardin’s gaze staring a hole through her. Blake herself seemed worried, glancing behind them every now and then. Weiss refused to acknowledge the alpha’s presence, which seemed to irritate the alpha more. Eventually the bell rang, and Weiss scooted out of class as fast as she could, Blake following her. As Weiss turned to the hallway, she felt a hand grab her by the shoulder and push her towards the bathroom. She turned to see Blake was the hand, and Weiss let it happen, figuring Blake knew better.
“Why the fuck did Ruby not mark you?! That asshole was drooling in the back, and I could tell he was ready to jump you!” Blake shouted angrily as they got inside the bathroom.
“I couldn’t do it! Leave me alone, Blake!” Weiss shouted back, angry that Blake was so aggressive about this issue.
“What do you mean you couldn't do it?! You don’t do anything, you just let it happen!” Blake said, seething.
“What’s your excuse?! You’re not marked by Yang!” Weiss shouted, pointing her finger accusingly.
“I also don’t have a ridiculously strong scent, because I didn’t just awaken,” Blake said, rubbing her temples in frustration.
“Shut up, it’s not as simple as just ‘let it happen,’” Weiss said quietly, moving to leave.
“Fine. I’m texting Yang to get Ruby here to walk you to your next class. You’ll have to deal with this for at least a week from today,” Blake said, shaking her head and pulling out her phone.
“What did you do when you first awakened then?” Weiss asked, looking for a solution.
“I had someone who could fend them off for me,” Blake said ominously, and she grimaced as if the memory was painful.
“Oh,” Weiss said, deciding not to poke that bear.
Ruby and Yang appeared in the bathroom, and the four walked to a shared class between Yang, Ruby, and Weiss, and Blake departed to go to her own class. Classes went on pretty normally until lunch, with Weiss being walked by Ruby to each class. It seemed to be a naturally developed plan, and it seemed to be working. Weiss relaxed a little bit as time went on until lunch. Then it was back to the cafeteria, and Weiss felt tense again. As they walked to the cafeteria, there was a crowd to get into the door.
Weiss was holding Ruby’s hand as they went to get with the crowd, but Weiss felt Ruby’s hand slip from hers. Weiss felt panic rise in her, and she felt hands grab her and push her into a nearby closet. She was stuffed inside the dark closet by strong hands, and then the door was shut. The lights switched on to reveal Cardin had pushed her in with him. Shit.
“Finally, I have you alone, Schnee. Now, I can have you to myself,” Cardin said, putting a broom in the door handle to prevent it from opening again.
Weiss felt powerless. She was like a cornered animal in this stupid janitor’s closet, as it appeared to be. Weiss backed into the edge of the small room, her back against the cold stone wall. Cardin blocked her path of escape as he approached her in the tiny closet, smirking. Weiss never felt more scared, more threatened.
“Stay back!” Weiss shouted, trying to be loud.
“The crowd is way too loud for anyone to hear you, it’s useless,” Cardin laughed, suddenly grabbing Weiss’s throat.
“You’ll pay for this…” Weiss tried to lean her head away from Cardin’s as he leaned down to sniff at her pulse, sighing against her neck. Weiss shivered in disgust.
“Not likely,” Cardin said, his grip on Weiss’s neck tightening a little.
Weiss kicked hard at Cardin’s shins, and she felt her knee connect with something soft instead. Cardin let go instantly, leaning over to grip himself since it appeared that Weiss managed to get him in the balls. Weiss lunged past Cardin, knocking the broom out of the handle of the door before Cardin tackled her.
“How dare you! Don’t you know that omegas submit to their alphas?!” Cardin shouted, pinning the struggling Weiss.
The door suddenly opened, and Weiss felt Cardin’s weight be removed from above her. Weiss managed to catch the blur of crimson hair before crawling out of the closet, holding her neck and gasping for air. She turned to find Ruby beating Cardin to a pulp.
“You motherfucker!” Ruby shouted, punching Cardin repeatedly in the face. Weiss stood there, shocked, before Yang rushed forward to pull Ruby off of Cardin.
Chapter 5: In The Wake
Notes:
Hello! I wrote this chapter in some free time I had after work yesterday and today, so you dolts get an extra chapter. Enjoy!
Chapter Text
“Ruby, as much as I would love to watch you beat him into a bloody mess, you need to stop,” Yang was eerily calm, putting her hand on Ruby’s shoulder gently despite Ruby’s thrashing body.
Ruby eventually stopped as Yang settled her hand, though as Ruby got up from the ground, she got one last kick into Cardin’s balls. Weiss heard Cardin groan in pain, but she couldn’t quite see past Ruby and Yang, and she supposed it was for the best. Blake was nowhere to be seen, strangely. Ruby hugged Weiss tightly, before standing back to check Weiss over, noticing the marks on Weiss’s neck.
“Fuck, that looks bad. I’ll take you to the nurse Weiss,” Ruby said, Weiss could only stare at Ruby’s bloodied knuckles.
Ruby took Weiss’s hand despite Weiss not responding, leading Weiss away from the mess as students and teachers gathered. Yang was appearing to stay behind to deal with the aftermath. Weiss could barely walk without tripping over her own feet, she was shaking and crying badly. At some point, Ruby simply picked Weiss up, but the campus was a blur as they traveled through it to the student union. Weiss heard voices around her, but she didn’t register them, she was shutting down mentally.
Weiss had been attacked, and brutally. Weiss wasn’t even close to comfortable with this development, because as much as Weiss didn’t like admitting it to herself, her life was pretty physically cushy up until this point. At least when it came to strangers, family was an entirely different story. Weiss just wasn’t used to the idea that strangers would ever even threaten her, since she was rich and an alpha. With one of those things no longer true, the dynamics turned too fast for Weiss to even process it. Weiss felt the mental walls getting higher, before she’d be polite and even cordial with strangers, but now… they were just as much of a threat as one of her family members could be. Weiss eventually tuned back into the present, hearing her name many times in a single breath.
“Weiss!” Ruby called to her, and Weiss looked up from her hands as they rested in her lap.
“Y-yes?” Weiss said, wincing at her own shaky voice.
“The nurse wanted you to answer a few questions, and also wanted to know if you wanted me to leave for the questions,” Ruby explained.
Weiss seemed to finally look around her, noticing she was in the nurse’s office now, sitting in on an examination chair, with a little old lady watching her kindly. The room was rather stark, like any nurse’s office, and it smelled sterile, a change from the smell of food from the dining hall.
“I… yes, it’s best you go eat your lunch,” Weiss suggested, not wanting to directly tell Ruby to leave.
“Alright. I’ll get you something to eat later from the cafeteria, yeah?” Ruby asked kindly, laying her hand gently on Weiss’s.
“Right,” Weiss said, moving her hand away from Ruby’s.
Ruby looked saddened by the movement but left the office without another word. As the door closed, the nurse spoke up. Weiss looked at her, her judgment of the nurse evident in her hard stare. Weiss didn’t care for medical professionals, not really, they always told her about the same things over and over again without meaning them.
“So, I understand this attack was caused by your sudden change in rank? Do you have any idea what could have caused this change?” The nurse asked, standing and walking closer to Weiss.
“No idea,” Weiss said simply, as the nurse gently pushed her chin up to examine the bruising around Weiss’s neck.
“I suggest you take a week or so away from classes and isolated in your dorm for now, I would hate for another attack to happen. Is it alright if I take some blood to examine?” The nurse asked, though she was already moving to get blood draw equipment from a drawer.
“Yes, I would hope there is a logical answer to this predicament,” Weiss spoke stiffly, and her jaw was stone-like.
“I doubt it, sometimes things just happen. There is a theory out there that soulmates can change rank to align with each other, perhaps you should look into it, it may give you some solace,” The nurse suggested, as Weiss felt the pinch of the needle in her arm.
“I don’t think such a far-fetched idea could be factual in any sense, but thank you,” Weiss said, irritated by the notion.
“Alright. I will walk you back to your dorm, and hopefully your friend will bring you lunch as promised. If you can manage it, limit the times you leave your dorm for a week, the strength of the scent should fade by then,” The nurse said, putting away the vials she took and wrapping the mark on Weiss, before opening the door to walk with Weiss back to her dorm building.
“Thank you, Miss, I appreciate the help,” Weiss was polite, though she didn’t really mean a single word.
“Of course, dear. I hope things are easier after the week is up,” the nurse bid her farewell, walking back to the student union building. Weiss didn’t stay to watch her go, instead heading up to her room.
No one was in the dorm when Weiss opened the door, and Weiss sighed in relief. She got into her bunk, trying to relax her shaking body. Weiss only ever felt okay alone really, she accepted that as her reality. Other people meant problems, it meant expectations, it meant being fake. Weiss hoped that college would be a place of escape for her, like Winter had used the military, but deep-down Weiss knew that wasn’t the case. That his influence was still with her every second, and that she was going to college at all, with all her expenses paid, because of him. Sure, he couldn’t watch her even movement out here, but he could easily still check in on her grades and call her whenever to check that she was not running the family reputation into the ground. The little bit of breathing room Weiss has will be the only bit she will get until she manages to work out a better way. One that probably won’t come to fruition. Eventually, Weiss heard the door open, and her three roommates came in.
“Are you okay, Weiss?” Yang asked, her voice almost startling Weiss with its sudden loudness in the dreary silence that was before.
“Yes, I’ll be fine,” Weiss answered, not turning to face her roommates.
“She asked if you were okay now, not if you will be,” Blake probed, though there was an uncharacteristic gentleness to her voice.
“I can’t answer that honestly,” Weiss relented after a pause. She curled up a little on her bed.
“If you need anything, we’re here Weiss,” Ruby said, her voice like a spike in Weiss’s chest.
“Thank you, I appreciate the kindness. The nurse suggested I limit my time outside the dorm for the week. Hopefully the professors take that into consideration when my notes are behind,” Weiss told them, though she still wasn’t facing them.
“Yeah… Ruby will be here with you, the teacher decided that Ruby went overboard, and she’s being imprisoned here with you for the week,” Yang said, annoyed in her tone.
“At least Cardin is expelled, and with Ruby’s display, I doubt anyone would mess with Weiss now. And the term is house-arrest, Yang,” Blake said, her usual monotone back in full force.
“Shh, I can’t remember proper terms like you, Blakey,” Yang teased, and Weiss heard the creak of a bed as someone sat down.
“Weiss, are you hungry?” Ruby whispered to Weiss, suddenly next to her bed. Weiss wasn’t even surprised this time. The other two chatted in the background, not paying attention to Ruby or Weiss.
“No, but thank you Ruby,” Weiss dismissed. She couldn’t stomach food right now.
“Do you… need a hug?” Ruby offered, and Weiss could smell the worry in Ruby.
“If it’ll make you feel better,” Weiss deadpanned, though she didn’t move.
“I want to make you feel better, Weiss, not myself. Is there anything I can do?” Ruby asked, and Weiss felt the bed dip a little as Ruby sat down beside her.
“Leave me alone, please,” Weiss requested without thinking, and she regretted the request as soon as she said it, but she wasn’t about to take it back.
“Alright,” Ruby sounded hurt, standing up and going down to her own bunk.
Blake and Yang eventually left for their classes, leaving Ruby and Weiss together in mutual silence. Weiss could smell that Ruby was abundantly worried, and as each second ticked by, Weiss wanted to sooth that more and more. She supposed it’s an omega instinct, wanting to appease so much. Weiss realized she’d been doing a lot of that behavior for the past 48 hours as well.
“Weiss?” Ruby suddenly broke the silence.
“Yes?” Weiss answered Ruby, mildly curious.
“Do you… not like me? As a person?” Ruby asked, her voice was soft and anxious.
“That’s not it, Ruby. I have a general dislike of most people, it’s not about you specifically,” Weiss admitted.
“Why is that? Did something happen?” Ruby said, her voice taking on a more curious and caring tone.
“I suppose you could say that, but I don’t want to talk about it,” Oh but Weiss did, she wanted to reach out desperately.
“Are you sure? Sometimes talking about it helps,” Ruby prodded, sitting up and climbing to the edge of Weiss’s bunk.
“I’ve never talked to anyone about my issues, I wouldn’t know if it helps,” Weiss said, trying to delay but knowing she would soon spill.
“I’m willing to listen, if you want to try?” Ruby said, sitting down beside Weiss again.
“Of course. I… don’t have the greatest parents. I guess it’s where most of my undirected dislike of others comes from. My mother is drinking herself to death and my father is… abusive. I have the scar to prove it,” Weiss began, Ruby listening intently.
“My siblings weren’t really there for me either. My older sister escaped the house to the military, and I may hold some resentment for that, for leaving me behind and causing my father to pick me to be the heir. My younger brother supports my father, so there isn’t really a relationship. I was alone in my situation, and I guess I got used to it,” Weiss continued, though she was nervous as she did since this was the first time opening up so much. The words were just spilling out of her though.
“You don’t have to be alone anymore; I want to be here for you. I didn’t take it lightly that you didn’t refuse me, when everything went down a few days ago,” Ruby said softly, laying down beside Weiss, spooning her.
“I don’t want to be alone anymore, but I’m afraid. I’m afraid if I let someone in, they’ll just take more from me,” Weiss said, as Ruby hugged Weiss around her waist. Weiss hesitantly hugged Ruby’s arms, and it felt surprisingly good.
“I won’t do that to you, I promise. We can go at whatever pace you need,” Ruby softly whispered to Weiss, and Weiss shivered as she felt Ruby’s breath on her ear.
“Thank you. I’m sorry for being so militant with you before- “Weiss started to say, but she paused when Ruby squeezed her a little.
“It’s fine Weiss, I understand. No need to go into a long apology, I already accept it.” Ruby soothed, shifting a little to hug Weiss a little closer.
“I guess, for the time being, you should mark me. When I do go out to get meals, it’ll help,” Weiss muttered, a blush crawling over her cheeks.
“You sure? You won’t run away this time?” Ruby jested, though there certainly was some truthful hurt to it.
“I won’t. Can’t very well do that with you spooning me anyways,” Weiss allowed herself to return the jab.
“I suppose that’s true, though I don’t doubt you wouldn’t be able to weasel out of it,” Ruby laughed, before smoothly turning Weiss over and at the same time rolling over her, so that Weiss’s back was flush against the bed and Ruby was hovering above.
“Just shut up and do it already,” Weiss nervously averted her gaze, turning her head to the side for easy access.
“If you say so,” Ruby chuckled, before lowering her weight on top of Weiss.

Weiss was breathing heavily as she felt Ruby moving her clothes aside, sniffing her pulse. Ruby deeply inhaled, seeming to enjoy it. Weiss’s blush darkened, and she shut her eyes. She could feel the arousal building inside her, despite her best efforts to ignore it. She could not get hot and bothered over this. Though marking is a very intimate act by itself. But Weiss is the height of dignity and respect, a little sniffing shouldn’t affect her!
“You smell like freshly fallen snow and mint; you know. It’s really intoxicating,” Ruby muttered under her breath.
“Don’t say such weird things like that!” Weiss complained, though the words had effect on her all the same. Weiss resisted the urge to rub her thighs together.
“Why not? You’re going to be my mate now, after all,” Ruby teased.
“I suppose in physicality, but emotionally I’m not ready for that!” Weiss’s blush spread to her shoulders, she felt unable to contain herself now.
Ruby didn’t say another word, licking over her pulse instead to prepare to bite her. Weiss whimpered a little at the sensation, and she felt herself getting sticky. There was then pain in the junction between her shoulder and her neck, and Weiss knew Ruby was biting her then. Ruby held it for a few seconds, before withdrawing and licking at the wound to ease the pain. Weiss whimpered more, and it got to the point that Ruby was clearly just licking to hear Weiss and not because of the bite anymore.
“Weiss… You are too sexy like this, I can’t hold back,” Ruby purred between licks turned sloppy kisses.
“We shouldn’t, what if the other two walk in on us?” Weiss said, she couldn’t help but subtly admit she wanted to indulge in carnal pleasure as well.
“It’ll be a little while before they come back, we’re fine,” Ruby dismissed Weiss’s concern, in favor of pawing at Weiss’s small breasts.
“Mmm, Ruby, what about protection though?” Weiss hummed to Ruby as she was felt up by Ruby and was still trying to stall.
“I can get a condom from Yang’s stash, she always has it with her,” Ruby offered, running her hands down to the hem of Weiss’s uniform shirt.
“I… don’t know, is this a wise thing to do?” Weiss questioned, though her self-control was fraying.
“Probably not, but that’s a problem for future Weiss and Ruby,” Ruby admitted, playing with the edges of Weiss’s shirt and waiting for proper consent.
“Fine, just… be gentle, neither of us on a cycle,” Weiss let go of her inhibitions, giving over control to Ruby.
“Of course,” Ruby confirmed, and started popping buttons. When they were all unbuttoned, Ruby opened the shirt up, but didn’t take it off Weiss, instead staring down at Weiss’s baby blue bra with hunger and want.
“Don’t stare like that,” Weiss whimpered, going to cover her chest, but her wrists were caught by Ruby and promptly pinned above her head.
“Sorry, you’re really cute. I can’t really help it,” Ruby whispered directly into Weiss’s ear as she leaned forward to do so.
Weiss shivered, and then moaned as Ruby started to scrape blunt teeth against her neck. “Ruby…” Weiss whined, sounding more needy than she intended.
“Yes, sweetie?” Ruby cooed, again into Weiss’s ear.
“Could you get on with it, please?” Weiss begged slightly, moving her legs to wrap around Ruby’s waist.
“Sure, but I might have to gag you to make sure that no one hears you,” Ruby purred, rubbing her crotch against Weiss a little as she shifted. Weiss hissed as she felt Ruby’s hard dick through her skirt.
“I can be quiet, that’s not necessary,” Weiss protested, but Ruby pulled them to a sitting position and removed Weiss’s shirt from her body, and then scrunched it up and held it to Weiss’s mouth.
“I think it is, I remember how loud you can get,” Ruby recalled seductively, making Weiss blush and accept her shirt in her mouth.
“Good girl. Lay back and relax now for me,” Ruby grinned, guiding Weiss to her lying position again.
Weiss scowled at Ruby for her praise, not wanting to admit that it turned her on a lot . Ruby pulled Weiss up a little to remove her bra, Weiss helping by holding herself up on her arms. Once her small chest was exposed, Ruby pushed Weiss down again and started suckling on her nipples. Weiss muffled moans could only be heard by Ruby, as intended. Ruby came back up to give Weiss a kiss on her cheek before going back to Weiss’s neck, while pinching and rubbing Weiss’s nipples with her fingers. Weiss tightened her grip around Ruby with her legs, her arms coming down to grip at Ruby’s shoulders.
“You’re so cute, holding onto me like this. I can’t wait to see how wet you are,” Ruby mumbled against Weiss’s neck, causing Weiss to almost stop biting into the shirt and moan out. She managed to keep the shirt in her jaws however, muffling her sounds.
Weiss felt Ruby trail one hand down from her breast and towards her navel, eventually turning her wrist and hand and sticking her hand down Weiss’s skirt and panties. Ruby briefly felt Weiss to see how wet she was, as she said, and moaned a little herself to find Weiss dripping. Ruby withdrew from Weiss’s neck, and her hand from Weiss’s pussy, cleaning her hand provocatively with her tongue, staring into Weiss as she did. Weiss’s face heated up watching Ruby, staring back in amazement and awe.
“Just as good as before,” Ruby mumbled, causing Weiss to pulse in her loins.
Ruby sat back to remove her clothes, and she proceeded to remove the rest of Weiss’s as well. Weiss trembled a little as she lifted her hips, the anticipation and anxiety was killing her. They didn’t have the excuse of heat or rut to be doing this, so Weiss was now just indulging in carnal acts for the sake of it. And yet it felt so fucking good. Ruby moved from the bed to grab a condom from Yang’s drawer, being careful to put everything back the way it was before so it looks like nothing moved.
“I’ll pick up my own later, but for now, I’m sure my sis won’t mind,” Ruby assured Weiss unnecessarily. Weiss wasn’t worried about that, but as long it helped Ruby feel better herself.
Ruby slipped the condom on herself, a condom designed to go over a knot, which was starting to form on Ruby as Weiss stared. Weiss felt her legs close a little as Ruby got on the bed, nervous as she watched Ruby’s dick bounce a little with the movement. Ruby smiled reassuringly, putting her hands on Weiss’s knees while looking at her for permission to go further. Weiss nodded her consent, and Ruby gently pushed Weiss’s knees apart. Weiss could have sworn Ruby had hearts in her eyes with how Ruby looked down at her, mounting Weiss but not putting her dick in yet, instead letting it lay on Weiss’s lower lips. Weiss made a muffled noise into her shirt.
“Mmmm, you’re so wet for me. So warm too,” Ruby murmured to Weiss, putting her arms on either side of Weiss’s head as she laid to bury her head into Weiss’s neck.
Ruby brought down one hand to guide herself in, and as she pushed inside gently, Weiss all but screamed into her shirt. It felt so good to have Ruby inside her like this, not just in the physical way. It felt so right. It was everything Weiss really wanted and buried inside herself for years. But now she was free of that life, while Ruby was buried in her pussy. Ruby sat up and took hold of the underside of Weiss’s knees, not pushing forward with them but simply holding them apart as she gently thrusted, helping Weiss get used to the feeling. Eventually, Weiss started moving her hips with Ruby, signaling to Ruby to move more. Ruby let go of Weiss’s legs in favor of draping herself over Weiss and holding herself slightly above Weiss as she started to be rougher with her thrusts. Ruby hummed against Weiss’s throat as she dragged one hand between them to gently play with Weiss’s clit, causing Weiss to tighten a little around Ruby and make a pleased sound. Ruby herself groaned as she felt Weiss tighten the way she did, going a little bit harder.
Weiss’s jaw locked around her shirt, and she could start to feel it ache from the force. Ruby eventually took mercy and pulled the shirt gently from Weiss’s mouth before immediately kissing her deeply, continuing to keep Weiss quiet effectively. Weiss wrapped her arms around Ruby’s neck, keeping in her place as she heard the sound of skin slapping together erotically. Ruby seemed to go harder at the sound, possibly because it meant her knot was now fully formed, and yeah, Weiss could feel the bulge against her. Weiss grinded down on Ruby to get the knot in her, desperate to climax. Ruby took that as a signal that Weiss was okay with it and thrusted into her harder while holding Weiss’s hips in place with her hands, breaking their kiss. Weiss couldn’t hold back, and she moaned out into the room. Weiss felt Ruby’s knot pop inside, and it was all over for her. She screamed as she came hard, her pussy tightening so much around Ruby’s dick as it pumped into her. Ruby herself wasn’t much better, making shallow thrusts as she let out a deep moan, unlike her higher pitched voice. Ruby stayed still as they came down from their respective highs, flipping them over gently so that Weiss wasn’t crushed under Ruby, and Ruby pulled the strewn blankets over them to fend off the impending cold. Ruby gently pet Weiss’s head as they lay there, Weiss’s head laying on Ruby’s upper chest.
“So, what are we now, Weiss?” Ruby asked nervously, and Weiss could hear Ruby’s heart beating faster.
“Do you want to… be together that much?” Weiss asked, her voice light.
“I do, you’re… intriguing, and it’s like I feel a natural pull to you. I’ve never felt this way towards anyone, and I don’t really want to let it go away, it feels too intoxicating. I… was practically raised by Yang, our dad wasn’t really there, and our mom died when I was young. I was pretty sheltered by Yang; she was convinced I would turn out to be an omega unlike her. So, when that night happened, I felt like I was not so suffocated under Yang’s protective nature. I never told Yang I didn’t like her sheltering me, simply because I thought it would hurt Yang. With Blake around too, Yang’s been much better about it. Instead, I’ve been left to be more mature and not have to play the game of innocent little sister. And I owe it to you,” Ruby finished her explanation, leaning down and kissing Weiss lovingly on her head.
“I… will admit that you are the only person I would even consider having a romantic relationship with. I feel a similar pull. If you truly want to, we can try it. But let’s not tell anyone yet, I don’t know if I want anybody to know just yet,” Weiss decided, and she felt Ruby’s heartbeat get stronger again.
“Really?!” Ruby excitedly asked for confirmation.
“Yes, really, don’t make me take it back!” Weiss complained, going red in the face.
“Of course, sorry!” Ruby chuckled, hugging Weiss a little tighter.
Ruby gently tugged Weiss’s hips while pushing her own hips away, letting her dick come out with a small whimper from Weiss at the loss. Weiss shifted to the side of Ruby, her head still laying against Ruby, but on her shoulder now. Ruby hugged Weiss with her arms as she turned over to look at Weiss’s face, Weiss moving her head to the pillow, and Ruby was smiling widely. Weiss returned a soft smile. Maybe, just maybe, this was enough.
“We should probably take a shower and change these sheets before Blake and Yang come back,” Weiss muttered, despite her yawning a little.
“I don’t want to get up though…” Ruby laughed, pulling Weiss closer.
“Ruby, do you really want Yang and/or Blake to walk in here with us naked and smelling of sex?” Weiss deadpanned, trying to sit up.
“No. Fine, let’s go,” Ruby said, letting Weiss go and sitting up herself.
“You’re hopeless, why did I ever agree to be your mate?” Weiss sarcastically complained, climbing over Ruby to get off the bed, who’s eyes were glued to Weiss’s ass.
“Have I ever told you that you have a great ass?” Ruby complimented, grinning like an idiot.
“It’s literally flat, but no,” Weiss said, rolling her eyes.
“Maybe I like the way it looks though,” Ruby chuckled, following Weiss off the bed and to the bathroom.
“We are taking showers separately, get out!” Weiss shouted as she noticed Ruby in the bathroom with her, pushing her out with a blush.
“But we could save water!” Ruby complained, fighting Weiss’s pushing playfully.
“We don’t pay for the water bill here, why would you care! You just want to stare at me,” Weiss shouted, but Ruby grabbed Weiss’s hands and pushed her against the door to close it.
“What I want to bond a little more with you, we don’t have to do anything in the shower, but it’s a good way to bond nonetheless,” Ruby chuckled, running her hands over Weiss’s naked hips after letting go of her hands.
Weiss’s face went red, but she relented, and Ruby let go of her hips so Weiss could start up the shower. Weiss waited for the shower to reach a palpable temperature, and then stepped inside, and Ruby followed her. Weiss grabbed her shampoo from the corner, and Ruby snatched it from her hands.
“Hey-” Weiss started to say but was silenced with Ruby’s finger on her lips.
“Turn around, I’ll wash your hair,” Ruby smiled, and Weiss blushed and did as told.
Weiss made sure her hair was wet enough as she took it out of its off-center ponytail it was usually in, to include right then, and her hair draped down to her ass. Weiss heard Ruby open up the bottle and squirt some on her hands, working up a lather. Weiss then felt fingers in her hair, gentle and soothing as they ran through and then worked her hair. Weiss’s shoulders dropped as she relaxed, and then Ruby gently turned her around as she pushed her under the shower head, rinsing her hair of the shampoo. When the shampoo was cleared, Ruby guided Weiss back out of the water and facing away again to put Weiss’s conditioner in her hair. After the same treatment as the shampoo, it was Ruby’s turn. Weiss gave Ruby the same treatment, and then it was time to use body wash.
Ruby grabbed Weiss’s wash, working up a lather and then rubbing it around Weiss’s body as Weiss faced away. Weiss let out a pleased sound almost by accident, the sensual hands on her body were simply that relaxing. Ruby circled Weiss’s breasts and nipples, and Weiss softly moaned, but Ruby didn’t stay to caress too long, instead moving to Weiss’s lower body, rubbing everywhere, and eventually rubbing Weiss between her thighs and on her pussy. Weiss moaned a little more at the soft treatment, but again Ruby didn’t stay long, and instead had Weiss go underneath the flowing water again to rinse. Now it was Ruby’s turn, and Weiss could see Ruby was hard as she turned to face Ruby. Weiss decided to ignore it in favor of lathering Ruby in soap, and not lingering anywhere as Ruby did with her. Ruby rinsed off the wash, and then turned to face Weiss.
“I can’t exactly go back out with a hard on. I’ll take care of it in the shower, you can go ahead and get dressed,” Ruby said, blushing.
“I can help if you don’t mind, Ruby. We are supposed to be mates,” Weiss said nervously. She didn’t want to look desperate, but she kind of was. Ruby’s treatment left Weiss just as bothered.
“Alright. Turn around for me then,” Ruby practically growled.

Chapter Text
Weiss turned around wordlessly, bracing herself against the wall of the shower. Ruby grabbed Weiss’s hips and pulled them, so Weiss was sticking her ass out, and then Ruby grinded her dick against Weiss’s wet folds from behind. Weiss sucked her teeth and curled her toes in pleasure, her hands turning to fists. She didn’t drop her head just yet, but then Ruby pulled away, and Weiss made a pitiful whine at the loss.
“You’re not wet enough. Hold still, I’ll eat you out so you will be,” Ruby growled into Weiss’s ear before dropping down.
Weiss moaned a little when she felt Ruby’s fingers on her, manipulating her body so that Ruby had better access. Parting Weiss’s legs wider and pushing her ass out. Finally, Weiss felt a tentative tongue licking at her slit, and Weiss moaned a little louder. Ruby gathered the wetness on her tongue before moving to Weiss’s clit and closing her lips around it. Weiss’s voice went up by an octave at least, and pleasure exploded behind her eyes. Ruby licked and sucked, and Weiss’s voice only got louder. Before Weiss could reach her peak however, Ruby stopped and withdrew. Weiss made an indecent move and tried to chase Ruby’s face, and Weiss didn’t have the mind to care. Ruby restrained Weiss’s hips however and stood up to mold her body against Weiss’s from behind. Weiss sang her pleasure as she felt Ruby’s hard dick between her thighs, and her previous chase of a high was forgotten.
“Now, you’re ready,” Ruby whispered in Weiss’s ear, and gently guided herself in after a beat.
Weiss groaned a little at the only slight discomfort, being out of heat made this much harder to do. Ruby was generous and kind though, as Weiss has come to appreciate, and waited a few beats for the discomfort to wear off. Eventually, Ruby gently pulled and then pushed back, and Weiss felt the tug of pleasure instead. Ruby pushed her hand against Weiss’s lower back to get her to lower her upper back and press her butt out, and Weiss complied almost automatically whilst desperately holding onto the shower wall. Ruby growled in approval, then leaned over Weiss to kiss and bite gently against the junction between her neck and shoulder. Weiss wasn’t holding back her voice before, but that is even more true now. Weiss was straight-up open-mouthed moaning, and she did not care. Ruby, for her part, was gritting her teeth in effort. She was pleased to hear Weiss’s sounds however, and rewarded Weiss with by renewing her mating bite. That caused Weiss to go into orgasm, the pain and pleasure melding together. Ruby pushed her knot inside, hearing the increased octave and feeling the fluttering from Weiss. All that was heard from the two was panting from there, as both of them tried to catch their breath. There was a sudden knock on the door. Both Ruby and Weiss looked up in equal panic.
“Yo, me and Blake just got back. Could you two get the fuck out of there?! Also, you are not subtle! Get a separate room or something,” Yang’s voice rang into the bathroom.
Ruby and Weiss were equally red in the face as they separated, turning off the water and getting dressed. They were both too embarrassed to look each other in the eye. They even stood at the bathroom door for an awkward moment, neither wanting to open it. Ruby eventually took a bite and opened it.
The door revealed Yang and Blake sitting together on the bed, clearly having been cuddling, but they separated slightly to look more platonic as the door opened. Weiss had a feeling Ruby would have said something, but she couldn’t look at her sister in the face. Weiss wordlessly sat on her bed, and she guessed Ruby decided to be bold because she followed Weiss to her bed and sat beside her and leaned against Weiss. Weiss gave her a look, but Ruby ignored it and continued to lean into her.
“So, uh, Ruby, we should talk about some… developments. First off, I don’t want to listen to you two fuck. I just don’t. On the flip side, you won’t hear us,” Yang started, clearly trying to outline boundaries.
“Who said anything about us, Yang?!” Blake said haughtily and gave Yang a whack.
“Nothing, I’m just messing around. But not really. Anyways, Secondly, Blake’s heat is coming around soon, so we’ll be in the bunker. So you definitely won’t hear us,” Yang continued.
“Yang. I regret all my choices that have led me to this point. You did not have to tell them that,” Blake looked so defeated, putting her head in her hands with a red face.
“We would have to tell them at some point,” Yang shrugged, but to her credit she was doing her best to be gentle as she put her hand on Blake’s shoulder gingerly.
“Fine…” Blake sighed, but she didn’t reappear from her hands.
“Uh, congrats?” Ruby said awkwardly but smiling all the same.
“You too, Ruby, you too,” Yang giggled. There was a bit of awkward silence, before Weiss broke it with a question.
“So, when do you guys go into the bunker then?”
Yang looked to Blake. Blake looked up and back at Yang, nodding.
“We’ll go in tonight. We wanted to let you guys know before we did,” Yang said, looking back at Weiss.
“Alright,” Weiss said, and the silence returned.
“Who’s up for a movie?” Yang said after some time, standing up and stretching.
“I suppose that’s a good idea,” Blake nodded.
“A very good idea! Let’s watch something with action!” Ruby jumped up excitedly.
Weiss smiled, nodding her head. Perhaps her biological family wasn’t great, but she could adopt a new family. Despite it having been maybe a week, she felt more at home with these three than she ever had at the Schnee mansion.
They ended up watching a superhero movie, which was Ruby’s pick of course. Weiss didn’t particularly pay attention but did enough in case Ruby started to ask her about it. She wanted to entertain Ruby if need be. About halfway through, Blake fell asleep, and Yang picked her up to take Blake to the bunker with her, and Ruby paused the movie to awkwardly hug Yang a brief goodbye for now. When the bunker door shut, Ruby sat down and sighed, resuming the movie. Weiss eventually fell asleep herself, unable to stay awake despite it being not quite late afternoon.
When she woke up again, it must have been midnight or so. She was in her bed, and she could feel Ruby beside her. She smiled in the dark. She sat up gently and rubbed her eyes. She looked at the bedside clock to see it was indeed only a little past midnight, before looking down to look at the sleeping Ruby. She was peaceful and beautiful in sleep. She had clearly changed into her PJ’s, which were simple enough. A tank top and PJ bottoms, but they gave her a look of cuteness that warmed Weiss’s frigid heart. Weiss gave a soft kiss to her forehead. Unfortunately, though this caused Ruby to stir, opening her eyes and sitting up with Weiss.
“You’re so pretty in the moonlight,” Ruby said gently, kissing Weiss’s shoulder.
“And you look beautiful in your sleep, dolt,” Weiss chuckled, the compliment feeling so unnatural coming from her mouth that she had to add the ‘dolt’ to the end.
“Awww, did you have to call me a dolt?” Ruby teased, with no bite or malice behind her words.
“You will always be a dolt to me. My lovely dolt,” Weiss kissed Ruby gently, which Ruby returned.
“D’awwww. You’re too cute, Snow Pea,” Ruby was still clearly sleepy, rubbing her head gently into Weiss’s shoulder as she tried to pull her back down to be prone with Ruby.
Weiss thought about the turn of events from the past week. She went from being so far in the shadow of doubt from her years of being a Schnee, to utterly free from that mindset. And she couldn't be happier. It was all because Ruby crashed into her life. It made her wonder why Ruby chose her at all.
“Why did you choose me, again?” Weiss asked in earnest, letting herself fall to the pillows with Ruby.
“At first it was because you were so cute. I hadn’t met someone with a look like yours. Then it was because you seemed so hostile, so different in mindset. Opposites attract? I don’t know, it intrigued me. Now it’s because I know you to be so warm underneath that frigid layer. You are sweet, you just don’t show it often. And call me possessive, but I like that you are only really sweet to me,” Ruby explained in a series of fascinating interlacing events.
“That’s captivating,” Weiss smiled lightly, feeling small tears in the edges of her eyes.
“What about you? Why did you choose me?” Ruby asked, and the sleepiness seemed to be fading for her as she propped herself up.
“You showed me happiness, simply put. All I’ve known was cold reality, but you are so carefree in attitude, and you showed me that it’s okay to have such an attitude. And if you’re around, I don’t feel so suffocated under the weight of expectations drilled into me by my father,” Weiss said, the words tumbling out of her mouth perfectly on the first try somehow.
“You know, other people could have done that for you too…” Ruby said, doubt seeping into her voice.
“No, they couldn’t have. You remember Cardin. Most people were and are the same around me. My status twists people’s mindset around me. You threw that in the garbage where it belonged. And you are you. I like you for the way you are, infectiously and unrelentingly optimistic, always seeing the beauty in something abhorrent. Like me,” Weiss squashed Ruby’s doubts, putting honest admiration in her voice.
“Like I said, you are only sweet to me, and I love that…” Ruby nuzzled into Weiss, clearly Weiss’s brief speech helped Ruby a lot.
“And you are a dolt. Did you really think I would give my sweet side to just anyone?” Weiss said, chuckling.
“You’re right. Of course, you’re right,” Ruby chuckled with Weiss, sleepiness returning.
“We should go back to sleep. We’ll be returning to class tomorrow, and hopefully, we’ll be able to catch up on everything,” Weiss said, turning to wrap her body comfortably into Ruby’s.
“Yeah. That’ll suck,” Ruby groaned.
“Indeed. But more sleep will help…” Weiss surmised, and she quickly drifted in her comfy position.
***
Weiss turned off the alarm as it went off, and Ruby was wriggling around in annoyance. Weiss looked propped herself to look down Ruby, who, now that the alarm was off, was trying to go back to sleep. Weiss chuckled and gently shook her, leaning down to whisper in her ear.
“Get up sleepy head, we got class!”
“Ugh. Fine,” Ruby rolled over, letting go of Weiss.
They both got ready in mutual pleasant silence, and when they were done, they went down to the cafeteria, minus of course their two other roommates. Weiss could tell Ruby felt a little off without Yang around and did her best to be reassuring with little smiles and touches. They sat down with their new friends from yesterday.
Ruby and Weiss sat down across from each other, Juane next to Ruby, Pyrrha by Weiss, and then Ren and Nora with Nora by Juane. The group wasn’t as talkative it seems without Yang to direct the conversation so much, though Nora certainly did try to make up for that. But too many of the people within the group were the quiet type it seemed. Then Weiss watched something unexpected.
Juane and Ruby seemed to really enjoy talking to each other, and as Weiss watched, the other omega and the alpha talked about various topics from their mutual fascination with a particular video game to… well really just that. Juane was really enthusiastic and kept touching Ruby’s arm. And as they continued talking, an unfamiliar feeling invaded Weiss’s mind. Intense disliking to Juane, and the need to separate them. Weiss scowled deeply at Juane, and Ruby didn’t seem to notice any of this. Weiss felt some anger there, but someone else did notice.
“Well, Juane, I think now would be a good time to go get some extra pancakes for Nora, right? Since Nora will eat two people’s worth of pancakes,” Pyrrha smiled, squeezing Weiss’s arm before standing up to drag Juane away, who followed like a dog after a second of confusion.
“Ruby, you should really pay more attention to those around you…” Ren said cryptically, continuing to eat cereal without missing a beat.
Nora just looked at Ren confusedly, and Ruby looked just as confused before her eyes connected with Weiss’s. Then it seemed to dawn on her, as she made a little ‘oh’ face. Weiss got up, excusing herself quietly before speed-walking to the bathroom. Ruby followed her, trying to catch up and talk to Weiss, but Weiss was having none of it as she walked into the bathroom and shut herself in a stall.
“Weiss, what’s wrong?” Ruby pleaded desperately from the other side.
“It’s fine, I’m fine. Go back to sit with our friends, I’ll be back in a bit,” Weiss didn’t want to deal with this wave of emotion right now.
“Snow Pea, please. Juane and I were just talking. He didn’t mean anything by it,” Ruby tried again, and her tone made Weiss feel bad. Weiss didn’t like all these emotions. She wasn’t used to it.
“I’m okay. Please, Ruby. I’m not used to being an omega just yet, I think,” Weiss tried to explain, though she knew that was only maybe half the problem.
“Okay. I’ll check on you again in a bit, if you really want to be alone…” Ruby said, hesitantly stepping back out.
Weiss stood in the stall, taking deep breaths, trying to compose herself. Put on the mask, and be the frigid bitch everyone knows you as, she chastised herself. But that would be going back to her old ways. No, she’s above that now. Just relax. ‘Be who you want to be,’ Weiss thought to herself.
She stepped back out of the stall, washing her hands because it’s still a bathroom and the walls and whatnot aren’t the most sanitary, and walked out back to the table. She noticed the group had rearranged themselves, with her seat by Ruby now and Pyrrha was across from Ruby now. She received a sympathetic smile from Pyrrha, and Weiss nodded to her in thanks before taking her seat by Ruby. Ruby squeezed her hand under the table.
“You okay, Weiss? You seemed a little upset when you left the table…” Nora asked, ever so oblivious.
“I’m alright Nora, thank you for the concern,” Weiss responded, trying not to sound cold and giving a small smile. Nora didn’t seem put-off, and continued talking with Ren, more like at him, as she was before.
“You want to talk more later?” Ruby whispered to her, squeezing her thigh.
“Sure,” Weiss smiled, and promptly nuzzled herself against Ruby instinctively. Nobody said anything, but Weiss could feel a little bit of apprehension at Weiss’s actions. It was a little suffocating, but luckily now it was class-time.
Class that day was fine. Weiss managed to gather all the materials needed to make up necessary work and helped Ruby with finding her materials. Ruby gave Weiss odd looks throughout the day, but otherwise, she didn’t mention anything off to Weiss. Weiss was a little concerned by that, but she figured the little episode earlier was just worrying Ruby. Eventually, they made it back to their dorm. Weiss sat at the desk doing her make-up work while Ruby did the same on Weiss’s bed. Ruby cleared her throat before speaking to get Weiss’s attention, though Weiss didn’t actually indicate she was listening before Ruby started talking.
“Weiss, did you mean to scent mark me earlier?” Ruby asked, a little trepidation in her voice.
“I did?” Weiss asked, now listening intently and turning to Ruby in concern and confusion. Guess the odd looks were more than just the episode.
“Yeah. In front of everyone,” Ruby giggled a little.
“What’s funny?” Weiss asked, a little peeved at the giggling.
“Were you really that jealous of Juane?” Ruby asked, putting her work aside.
“I… acted purely on instinct. I apologize,” Weiss said, remembering now how she nuzzled Ruby so directly.
“Don’t,” Ruby said, sliding close to Weiss so that her mouth was near Weiss’s ear, “I thought it was kind of hot.”
Weiss shivered. Ruby thought her claiming Ruby like that in front of Juane was hot, of all things. Weiss didn’t quite see the appeal, but Ruby’s voice in her ear still caused the shivers for her. What caused more shivers was when Ruby pushed Weiss’s work aside and promptly pulled Weiss to sit on the desk.
“Maybe I should show you why you don’t have to be jealous, hmm?” Ruby whispered further, though giggles were breaking her facade.
“Oh really? Cause you are laughing too much for this to be anywhere near sexy,” Weiss chuckled at Ruby, who then broke into a fit of giggles.
“Shush! I’m trying, Weiss, but it was funny too!” Ruby complained.
Now Weiss was laughing, looking back to find the humor in the whole thing. Ruby watched, entranced by Weiss as she let out her rare laughter. Ruby broke Weiss’s laughter with a searing kiss, finding herself finding Weiss cuter by the minute. Weiss stopped laughing altogether, submitting to the kiss.
“Break time?” Weiss whispered, a little gleam in her eyes.
“Break time,” Ruby confirmed.

Chapter Text
Two more days went by before the bunker door opened again. Ruby was a nervous wreck, getting worse by the hour practically in Yang’s absence. Weiss did her best to be emotionally available, but that went about as well as the Ice Queen thought it would. Ruby went through every sweet available in the dorm on the first day, with Weiss doing her best to hide them anyways. But the dorm didn’t have many good spots, so of course Ruby found them all. The second day, Weiss tried to get the girl to come walk with her after class. They ended up in a candy shop somehow, and Weiss rolled her eyes and gave in to buying Ruby some candy. Ruby had powerful puppy eyes.
Ruby also liked to spend her nervous energy with… less decent things. Trying to seduce Weiss constantly when they weren’t in class was almost endearing at first, but then it got annoying. There was only so much energy in Weiss for that. Weiss was proud of only giving in a few times at least.
The door finally opened at around midnight on the third day, and Ruby was camping outside the door by that point shamelessly. Weiss couldn’t get her to sleep in her bed. Weiss did at least sit with her, though she pulled up a chair. She was not about to sleep on the damn floor.
Yang stepped through the door first. She nearly tripped over Ruby, clearly not expecting her to be camped right outside. Weiss smirked as the blonde struggled to regain her footing, not helped by Ruby practically clinging to her.
“Ruby, can I please at least get out of the door?! I missed you too, but I need a shower!” Yang was laughing at Ruby as she yelled at her.
“Yang! Finally, I ran out of cookies and candy to eat!” Ruby cried, not bothered by Yang’s comment.
“Ruby, let Yang take her shower. Then you can hug her as much as you want,” Weiss scolded, finally stepping in. Amazingly, Ruby listened and let go.
“Thank you, Weiss,” Blake said, her voice a little hoarse as she unsteadily walked out behind Yang.
Weiss stared at Blake for a second, a little put off by her state, but didn’t comment. She supposed she wasn’t much better during her own experience, and instead did her best to drag Ruby to her bed at last. Weiss’s fleeting gaze also caught a mark on Blake’s shoulder as Blake adjusted her shirt, but again Weiss didn’t comment. She had no ammo to fire a judgmental bullet.
Ruby sat with Weiss on Weiss’s bed, waiting for Blake and Yang to clean themselves up. Weiss tried to read Blake’s expression as she sat in the desk chair waiting her turn to shower, but Blake was the queen of poker faces. Weiss already knew this, but that didn’t stop her from trying. Ruby was practically vibrating beside Weiss, her brewing impatience a recipe for disaster despite the late hour. Weiss did her best to subtly keep Ruby in place, rubbing her hand and hugging her with one arm to make leaving seem less enticing.
Eventually, Yang came out, and Ruby got up to rush into Yang’s arms. Weiss sighed and shook her head, there was only so much she could do short of tackling Ruby to the ground. And Weiss wasn’t about to sink to that level. Blake slipped past into the bathroom behind Yang quickly as Ruby kept Yang occupied.
“Relax, Rubes. Jeez, I was literally gone for three days,” Yang laughed, though she accepted Ruby’s affection, nonetheless.
“Too long!” Ruby cried, before smashing her face back into Yang’s shoulder.
“Ruby, I can assure you that it was better that me and Blakey were in the bunker,” Yang smirked.
“I know that! I just missed you!” Ruby complained, but she finally allowed Yang some breathing room.
“Missed you too, silly. You should go to sleep though, it’s late,” Yang suggested.
“Fine!” Ruby whined, before coming back to Weiss’s bed and promptly laying down.
“What are you doing? Go up to your bed!” Weiss complained indignantly.
“Why? Can’t we cuddle?” Ruby asked, now trying to pull Weiss down with her.
“I… Uhh,” Weiss tried to come up with a response that didn’t hurt Ruby’s feelings but got the message across that Weiss decidedly did not want to cuddle with Yang right there.
“Ice Queen, I don’t care about cuddling. Just don’t start fucking,” Yang chuckled, crossing her arms, and seeming to read Weiss’s thoughts.
“Noted,” Weiss nodded, and hesitantly allowed Ruby to drag her down. Ruby was out like a light moments later.
“So, you guys are an item now?” Yang asked, not abrasively but not exactly ginger either.
“Yes. Would it be a similar story with you and Blake?” Weiss questioned back.
“Yeah. Though don’t let Blake know I said that, she’s not thrilled about other people knowing yet. She’s had a time of life, but that’s her story to tell,” Yang commented mysteriously. Which felt very unlike Yang.
“I understand,” I acknowledged.
The silence fell onto the room, only interrupted by light snoring from Ruby and the drone of the shower water. One sound stopped, and moments later the door opened to reveal Blake. Ruby didn’t do anything to indicate the door’s sound disturbed her at all. Blake quietly moved to sit on her bed beside Yang, not looking at the clearly still awake Weiss, and instead opted to gingerly tap Yang and point her to go up to her own bed. Yang made a melodramatic sigh before standing up and climbing to her bunk. Weiss rolled her eyes, before settling down finally. Though sleep didn’t come for a while. Instead, she watched Yang not-so-quietly come down from her bunk and slip into Blake’s bed. Blake just turned over and cuddled into Yang soundlessly. Weiss wondered how Ruby stayed asleep but didn’t question it. Instead, she turned over and attempted to finally fall asleep.
***
Weeks went by peacefully. Weiss and her roommates fell into a comfortable rhythm of going to class and studying. A few odd times of one half of a couple walking in on another full couple having some private time, but otherwise, everything worked out. Weiss only got punched by Yang once because Yang walked in on Ruby and her. Ruby had ended up running away at full speed from the dorm once. And then Weiss walked in and promptly turned around and walked out and would have gotten away unnoticed had she not hit her head on the door frame trying to turn around too quickly. Anyways, peaceful.
Blake eventually allowed Yang to call them girlfriends. It took only half a dozen moments of a suffering Blake, minus the two times that they were caught in the middle of private time. Weiss seemed to similarly loosen up as well, her insults and voiced displeasure less frequent and replaced by perhaps a half-decent compliment or two. Things seemed right. That is, until it wasn’t.
Holidays were arriving fast. Meaning everyone would go home to visit family. That made Weiss extremely anxious. Questions of what would happen when she got home invaded her mind and tormented her. Of course, she could decline going home, but that would make her father suspicious at best. She hadn’t told any of her family of her changed rank yet, not even Winter, in fear of consequences. She had to do something.
Days before leaving, Weiss took a trip to the city alone, despite Ruby’s protests. Weiss picked up a special tube of what looked to be deodorant, but it would mask that she wasn’t an alpha anymore. It came with the caveat that Weiss wouldn’t have any smell, but she trusted that her father in particular wouldn’t be that sharp. Another caveat? She had to start using it that day, otherwise her smell wouldn’t be entirely erased before departure. And Ruby noticed immediately.
“Weiss, why can’t I smell you very well?” Ruby asked, confused.
“Maybe your nose is plugged up. Are you sick?” Weiss deflected the question. She wasn’t willing to explain to Ruby right now.
“I’m not sick or anything, I can smell cookies just fine. Your scent is dampened,” Ruby reaffirmed.
“I can’t tell you why you aren’t smelling things normally, dolt,” Weiss bristled a little. She regretted it though. Maybe the anxiety was getting to her.
“She’s using a scent eraser. That’s why you can’t smell her, Ruby,” Blake interjected. Weiss reeled towards her.
“I wasn’t going to tell her that for a reason, Blake. Go put your nose in someone else’s fucking business!” I angrily told her off.
“Not my fault you aren’t willing to tell the truth to your mate,” Blake shrugged, turning a page in her book.
“You are not much better than me! You hide your Faunus ears from everyone, an entire body part, and we are the only ones who know!” Weiss growled.
“Back off, Weiss. Or you are losing a body part,” Yang growled beside Blake, putting her hand on Blake’s protectively.
“Everyone, calm down. Weiss, what’s wrong?” Ruby tried to intervene.
“Fucking nothing! Leave me alone!” Weiss shouted and stomped her way out of the dorm.
“Weiss!” Ruby shouted after her, following her out.
“Go away,” Weiss growled under her breath as Ruby walked hot on Weiss’s heels.
“Please Weiss, what’s wrong? You wouldn’t be this upset if something wasn’t wrong,” Ruby insisted.
“It doesn’t concern you,” Weiss attempted to get Ruby to stop persisting.
“I just want to help you. It’s harder to do that when I don’t even know what’s going on,” Ruby logically explained.
“Fine. I’ll tell you later though. Not in public,” Weiss relented. Though she hoped that Ruby would forget.
“Okay. How about we get some cookies and then go back? We ran out of cookies again yesterday, but I didn’t want you to get mad at me for eating them all. Again,” Ruby suggested.
“Sometimes I question how you are an alpha. You are so afraid of me getting mad at you,” Weiss shook her head.
“I just prefer happy Weiss to mad Weiss,” Ruby shrugged.
“I guess,” Weiss smiled a little at the childish wording, but otherwise led the way to the city to Ruby’s favorite sweet shop.
Hours later, they returned with cookies, most of which Weiss put away before Ruby could snatch them. Out of sight, out of mind typically worked better to keep Ruby from eating them all in one go. Yang and Blake were not in the dorm room, much to Weiss’s relief. Ruby sat down on Weiss’s bed after taking her coat off, patting the spot beside her when Weiss had similarly put away her coat. Weiss sat down beside Ruby, and Ruby proceeded to guide Weiss to lean against her.
“Now, can you please tell me why you are using the scent eraser?” Ruby asked.
“I have told you before that my family isn’t great. Well, one sniff of my omega rank and my father will pass on my inheritance of the company. Not only that, but he will likely do everything to make sure it’s understood I no longer have purchase within the family. He may not outright disown me, though I won’t be too surprised if he does. I cannot let him know I am no longer an alpha. My place here at Beacon depends on it, as well as my plan to revitalize the company under better practices. The possibilities are driving me up the wall with anxiety,” Weiss explained, the words coming easier as she went on.
“Do you have to go home to them?” Ruby hopefully questioned.
“Yes. If I don’t visit, it will only drive home that there is certainly something to be suspicious about. My father already questions why I don’t call often,” Weiss was crestfallen.
“I’m sorry, Weiss. If there’s anything I can do to help, let me know. Do you want to tell Yang or Blake about this? They may have ideas on what to do,” Ruby suggested.
“No. Nobody needs to get involved. This is my issue alone,” Weiss rejected.
“I’m sure they would love to help though,” Ruby tried to insist.
“I will ask for help if it’s needed, Ruby. For now, though, this is not something I will force on people any more than I already have. I’ll apologize to Blake later, when I see her again,” I insisted.
“It’s okay to ask for help, snow pea,” Ruby remarked.
The bathroom door opened a second later, with Yang falling through it. Blake was crouched in an awkward position as if she was pressing one of her uncovered cat ears against the door. Ruby and Weiss stared at the two, before Yang scrambled to sit up and play it off.
“Hi! Uh, nothing to see here! Just two idiots that were hanging out in the bathroom casually!” Yang laughed awkwardly. Blake audibly facepalmed.
“I am going to feed both of you poisoned cookies,” Weiss threatened emptily, her face turning red.
“Anyways! How about I help Weiss look for a job, just in case her dad does find out everything and takes away her school funding?!” Yang suggested, laughing. Blake continued to facepalm.
Chapter 9: Etched In My Soul
Notes:
Hello everyone! Sorry it's been so long, a lot has happened in my personal life. But I'm back to writing now, with a new chapter of My Lovely Dolt! Almost there!
Chapter Text
Weiss did not find a job in the few days left before her return to the family mansion. Yang certainly tried, but many people took one look at the name on the resume and did one of two things; thought it wasn’t real in that Weiss fucking Schnee wouldn’t apply to a no-skill position, or thought it went to the wrong place. So Weiss ended up in a cycle of half-assed rejections because obviously it was fake and weird dances of rejections so as to not offend the great Schnee, respectively. As each rejection came in, Weiss became more anxious, since that somehow became possible despite the pending return to Atlas. As she and Ruby parted ways at a train station, Weiss going in one direction, and Ruby in the other, they shared one last hug. Weiss refused the offer of a kiss, as she was unsure who would be looking in public. She’d previously discussed that with Ruby, but Ruby still extended the offer at the time anyways. Weiss was wearing a large scarf to hide her mating bite the entire journey, no matter if she was within the warmth of the train car. It wasn’t really a scarf meant for warmth, more like one to make a fashion statement, which Weiss had carefully planned. There would be no slip-ups on this visit, Weiss would get away with all of it.
Weiss finally arrived after her long journey, her things taken by her favorite butler, Klein. Klein was more of a father than Jacques Schnee himself, giving Weiss a warm welcome when her real father couldn’t be bothered to even show his face. Weiss was tempted to tell Klein of her situation, perhaps request his help, but Klein would be required to let her father know should Weiss mention it and she couldn’t risk the idea of Klein having to choose which Schnee family member he was more loyal to. Not to mention that if Klein’s lying was exposed should he lie for Weiss, the punishment for such a blunder would be severe. As Klein helped Weiss get resettled in the mansion, his questioning looks that he shot at Weiss told her that he could tell something was different about her. He wouldn’t be able to tell much about smell, being a beta, but even Weiss could admit that her behavior even in these short interactions were slightly off from when she had left months ago. Klein never directly asked though, instead choosing to give Weiss breathing room.
Weiss avoided family members, which was easy, since the only ones she truly had to watch out for were Whitely and her father who were currently nowhere to be seen. Still, she avoided any areas they would frequent. She kept up the game until dinner. Now would be the real test. She would have to avoid Whitely most, since he would be on even more alert than her father, and he would let her father know of any oddities immediately. Her strategy would be sitting as far away from Whitely as would be socially acceptable, and then play the evading game she was so good at from years in the mansion. She would most likely sit across from Whitely at the extra wide table, since it would be difficult to smell a difference over food and the distance, and her father could be at the head as always, with one seat in between her and her father. She would even come in ‘fashionably late’ to execute this plan, since this seating choice is so important to keep her current livelihood intact.
She came into the dining hall around 5 minutes past the scheduled timing, and as expected, her father and Whitely were already seated. She sat as she had planned, and neither Whitely nor her father spared her a glance, instead eating their food in abject silence. Her father only had them speak when they were spoken to by him, so that was nothing new. What was new was that Whitely seemed to be staring Weiss down with not hatred, but mild curiosity. This made Weiss worried, in her hyperaware state. She tried to brush it off as best she could and eat her dinner, being fast but not too fast to arouse suspicion or to be rude. It really was all a game of mental and emotional chess that she had become an unwilling master of. It’s what her family has become.
“So, Weiss, how was your time at college? Studies are going well, I hope?” Jacques Schnee asked Weiss, but his tone was only mildly friendly. Which she knew to be coded as demanding and expecting that Weiss is doing well in school.
“Yes, father, I am doing perfectly as I expected,” She graciously replied, with only a small air of her usual uptight attitude. She had mentally calculated her tone for the entirety of the sentence, which felt like more weight pressing down on her chest with each syllable.
“Good, good. This is exactly what I wanted to hear, given you insisted on going to Beacon specifically,” Jacques said, which was again code for saying that he only accepted that Weiss be the top of the food chain despite her less-than-pleasing choice in school.
“If I may father, I do plan to attend the finest school Atlas has to offer when the time comes,” Whitely interjected. Code for “I am far better and more suitable than she.”
“Of course, Whitely, I wouldn’t have it any other way. It would displease me too much to have another child of mine not invest in superior Atlesian learning,” Jacques was almost dismissive of Whitley's coded words, instead focusing on Atlas and of course, his and his childrens’ reputation.
Whitely seemed a little miffed by the slight Jacques had provided, but knew better than to voice it. That would only mean facing Jacques’s wrath, which was always built up inside Jacques and let out when one of his children stepped out of line. Jacques did not function off reason; he functioned off perfection and manipulation. The table fell silent once more, and soon dinner was coming to an end. As the servants took away the dirty plates, Weiss got up to go to her room. However, as she stood, Jacques leered at her and spoke up.
“It’s a little strange to wear a scarf inside, don’t you think? Must be warm around your neck,” Jacques questioned with a sneer.
“I-it’s a new fashion I picked up at Beacon, father. I find I quite like it,” Weiss attempted to sidetrack, hoping the mention of Beacon potentially corrupting her will sidetrack Jacques.
“Well, you’ll have no problem removing it then in my presence, since you are no longer at Beacon,” Jacques retorted, leveling his face down to directly frown at her.
“May I ask that Whitely perhaps leave? This is a matter between me and you, and not him,” Weiss spoke up, knowing that Whitely wouldn’t leave her alone should he hear and see what is about to go down.
“Fine. I can respect your wishes. Whitely, please go to your room,” Jacques said, standing and walking to be closer to Weiss. Fear streaked up Weiss’s back with each step.
“Yes, father,” Whitely shot Weiss a little smirk as he left the room. Probably thought it wasn’t something as heinous to their father as a mating mark. But that doesn’t mean Whitely would feel sympathy if he knew.
“Now, Weiss, could you remove that scarf and show exactly what you're hiding?” Jacques asked, poison in his tone.
“Yes, father,” Weiss replied, feeling small as she removed the scarf from her neck. None of the dresses quite hid the mark correctly, but she chose one that did the best job. Nonetheless, the corner of Ruby’s mark on her would be visible.
As the scarf came off, Weiss felt more and more tense. It felt like time had slowed and her heartbeat was in her ears. Eventually, in the seconds of agony that felt like hours, the material was no longer around her neck but hanging limply in her hand by her side. Her father’s eyes scanned her neck, and for a second Weiss almost believed he missed the mark, but his eyes hardened as he reached to brush aside a little of her dress, fully exposing her mark. Weiss sucked in a breath, prepared for a screaming lecture.
Instead came pain. A hard slap across the face, hard enough to knock Weiss to the ground. Weiss had been hit before by Jacques, but not this hard. She felt tears spring forth as she held her face, staring up at Jacques with fear. It’s been a long time since Weiss showed her fear, knowing it only invigorated her father, but she couldn’t keep her face neutral this time.
“What kind of disgrace is this?! How dare you allow yourself to be marked like this! You aren’t an Alpha anymore, are you?! You’re a pathetic excuse of a daughter, I raised you graciously to be heir to the Schnee fortune, and I am repaid by becoming an Omega and getting marked as another’s! This is more than unbecoming, this is despicable!” Jacques roared abuse at Weiss as she struggled to stand. Weiss attempted to run as she stood, but she was tripping every third step and crying so hard she couldn’t see.
Weiss eventually got away as Jacques continued his tirade without her. She broke down as she sat against the door on the floor, silently bawling as thoughts swirled in her head. He hated her, and he would take away everything she thought was her future. She wasn’t a Schnee anymore. She was a nobody. Unstable, unworthy, unloved. The only sounds that came from her were small sniffles, the lack of noise she trained herself to have so that no further attention could be attributed and therefore no further abuse. Her usually perfect makeup was a mess, but Weiss couldn’t find it in herself to care so much. After all, who did she have to impress anymore?
Time passed, and a small knock came from her door. Weiss expected Klein, the only ally she had in this family, come to cheer her up as he always does. As Weiss opened the door however, she was not-so-pleasantly surprised to see Whitely instead.
“Come to gloat about your victory? Since father has likely already moved to disown me,” She pitifully asked, not able to find in her to really bite so much.
“No… Not at all. I came to ask only one thing. Father has told me everything, or I figured it out in his tantrum to me. And I wanted to ask… Do you love them?” Whitely asked, ever so carefully, which was completely unlike him.
“Excuse me?” Weiss asked, taken aback. Perhaps it was a ploy for something more sinister than their competition for best candidate?
“Weiss. Father is many things, and I believe he has… gone too far. So I only have that question. Do you love them?” Whitely further explained, his tone honest. An honesty Weiss has rarely heard, if ever heard.
“I… Yes. Now will you leave me to my misery?” Weiss answered tentatively, unsure where the conversation was headed.
“If you want me to. But… I hope they treat you well,” Whitely said, a small but sad smile crossing his lips for a second. A face Weiss has never seen. All of this is a side of her brother she never saw.
“Whitely… Why? Why are you acting this way?” Weiss asked, compelled by strangeness.
“I’ve won… but it’s bittersweet. I won because you forfeited. You found love. With the petty war over in such a way, I can’t help but feel perhaps we were wrong to fight each other so much. So instead, I want to help you. I won’t let you fall into squalor simply because of father’s decrees,” Whitely explained, with much hesitation.
“I can’t say I want to accept your help, or that I believe your words. But this by far is very different from how we typically interact. Perhaps, in the future, we can learn to work together instead,” Weiss relented a little, letting go of so much resentment she held for Whitely. Because he’s right; the war is over. And it didn’t end as either intended.
“Okay. Thank you for answering my question, sister. I’m sorry for father’s treatment of you,” Whitely said with finality, as he turned to walk away.
Weiss took the signal and closed her door, her face hardening. She wouldn’t stay here. She can keep in contact with Whitely, but her father didn’t deserve her. Ruby did. She will flee back to Beacon, and she will never, ever come back.
***
Her father attempted to bar her from returning to college, but with the help of Klein, she was able to properly return. She knew she would have to tell the school of her situation, but for now, she had to return to Ruby’s side. As students returned, she scanned faces for the cheerful raven-haired girl. She checked her phone one more time to see if perhaps she’d received a text from her, and as she looked back up finding nothing, her eyes locked with the one she hoped to finally unite with. Icey blue met silver, and Ruby took off towards Weiss. Weiss tried to brace herself for the inevitable impact, but there was never enough preparation for the speeding bullet that is Ruby. Weiss was picked up and spun around by Ruby, and normally Weiss would fuss over this kind of act, but the bitter separation had tempered her enough that Weiss only hugged back. Weiss was with her other half again, and that’s all that was needed. They didn’t separate again for the rest of the day, each only too glad to be with their beloved once again.
Chapter 10: Fast Forward To Heaven
Notes:
Finally finished this madness. Anyways, if anyone has a request, I'm happy to take it now that this is finished. Been a long journey.
Also there's sex.
Chapter Text
Despite all the misfortune Weiss had faced, it seemed that fate decided she deserved to have a bone thrown her way. She got a job in data entry at a respectable rival company to her father after a week’s search and was able to negotiate with them. They paid for a portion of her schooling with the promise that Weiss would continue to work with them after graduation. What Weiss didn’t know is that the CEO was Blake’s father, and Blake only smugly revealed that later on when Weiss came back from the successful job interview at the company, where Blake’s father made a point to personally wish Weiss a good day on her way out. Weiss was thankful, in her own ornery way, and silently made a deal to take Ruby out that night somewhere else so Blake, and by proxy Yang, could have the dorm to themselves that night.
The night went smoothly, the first time any night had for a long time in Weiss’s life. They went to dinner at a local restaurant, and later on checked into a hotel typically used by visiting parents just off campus but would be used for a different purpose that night for the couple. As Weiss opened the door to the hotel room with a key, Ruby swung Weiss around to close the door with Weiss’s body in a kiss. Weiss made a pleased sound, which seemed to only encourage Ruby as she kissed more aggressively.
“I want to fuck you against this door, I don’t want to wait to get to the bed,” Ruby growled into Weiss’s throat.
“It’s been two days,” Weiss reminded Ruby teasingly, though she made no complaints.
“Too long,” Ruby giggled a little despite her words, but having not received a complaint she started to strip Weiss.
“What are you, a sex fiend?” Weiss continued to be playful but complied in helping Ruby undress her.
“Only for you,” Ruby nibbled on the thin column of the junction between Weiss’s shoulder and neck, causing a sweet hum from Weiss.
Clothes were all but ripped from Weiss and Ruby turned Weiss to brace her hands and front against the door. Ruby only removed her pants and underwear, not willing to go through the effort of removing further garments, and gently ran her hands through Weiss’s slit. Weiss full-on moaned, the stimulation more than she expected already.
“You aren’t quite wet enough yet, snowflake. Guess I have to tease you just a little more,” Ruby whispered into Weiss’s ear as Ruby pressed herself against Weiss, the tips of her fingers dancing around Weiss’s clit.
“Ruby, please. I’m not above begging you at this point,” Weiss groveled a tad, having settled into her submissive role fully.
“You aren’t? Because I distinctly remember a time when you refused to beg,” Ruby teased, though she allowed one finger to sink in while her other hand snaked around Weiss’s hip and to her front to lightly feel her clit.
“Shut up, please, and just fuck me,” Weiss canted her hips against Ruby’s single digit inside her, the barest amount of pleasure it served to give still enough to rile her.
“That’s not how you ask,” Ruby scolded, curling her finger a little to mess with Weiss.
“Fine! Please, Ruby, fuck me,” Weiss all but cried, and Ruby finally obliged by taking her finger out to shove two back in.
“There’s a good girl. Are you ready for my cock yet?” Ruby hissed into Weiss’s ear as her hot breath ghosted over the shell of it, causing Weiss to moan a little in wanting.
“Yes, please Ruby,” Weiss tried to push her hips backwards, despite the fingers inside her, seeking a very specific hot feeling.
“Well, since you’ve been so good…” Ruby removed her fingers from Weiss to tease her dick through Weiss’s folds instead, causing a shudder from them both.
After just a little more teasing, Ruby finally gave Weiss what she wanted and gently guided herself inside, slowly pushing until they were flush. Weiss was softly gasping and moaning through the process, and once their hips met, Ruby really showed her strength. Ruby used the hand not still rubbing Weiss’s clit to firmly hold her hip, the leverage serving so Ruby could powerfully thrust in and out of Weiss. Weiss’s nails dragged into the wood of the door, probably getting a splinter or two, but she couldn’t find it in herself to care just yet. Not with Ruby getting faster and harder, pushing all the right buttons inside Weiss.
“Fuck, you’re always so good for me, Weiss…” Ruby kissed and bit along Weiss’s shoulders and neck, which caused Weiss to get even louder. Weiss couldn’t even get sentences out between moans, instead settling on just Ruby’s name.
Weiss felt the familiar pulse of an impending orgasm start to radiate through her body, and she started to push against Ruby as she chased it. Ruby herself was getting irregular in her thrusts, her rhythm falling to desperation. Eventually Weiss stiffened, letting out one last pleased moan. The fluttering of Weiss’s pussy pushed Ruby over the edge, and bit down into Weiss’s shoulder as she buried herself inside. Without her rut, there was no need to worry about a knot, but Weiss still kinda missed the feeling of it. Eventually the heat faded, but it didn’t die. They had all night, and that was just the first of many sexual adventures under the moon’s reign.
***
It’s been years since the fateful night of Ruby’s first rut. Weiss has since moved on after graduating with honors to be partners with Blake in what was once Blake’s father’s company, and Whitely took over from Jaques. Jaques was sorely mistaken that Whitely would favor Jaques in his retirement, and he eventually faded as a past disgrace of a CEO. Instead, Whitely would lead the company to do better, much to many’s surprise. Even Weiss, though she expected some of it. As for Ruby and Yang, Ruby became a private investigator while Yang was a personal trainer.
Blake and Yang had since gotten married themselves, though Ruby and Weiss were still skirting around on that. Yang would often crack jokes at their expense about it, which earned Yang a stern glance from any of them before she would leave it alone, and perhaps a joke from Weiss to Blake to ask Blake to reign Yang in a little. Which would in turn encourage Yang to say that she was the alpha, not Blake. And that spurred Blake to do something to put Yang in her place. Usually a comment along the lines of “well that’s not very indicative of last night,” which shut Yang up very fast and led Ruby to groan. Interactions between the four of them were always playful and cheerful, if not just a tad on the annoying side for Weiss and Ruby.
For a CEO and private investigator, Weiss and Ruby couldn’t be home at the same time very often, especially Ruby, but they would find time. On occasion, they would plan joint vacations. On one such vacation, Weiss had a surprise for Ruby. And Ruby for her. Neither knew they had anything planned.
They lived together in a little house in Patch, Ruby’s hometown, with lots of open space around them. Despite it being far from any city, including the one they both mainly worked from, they both preferred the quiet that the house provided out in the country setting of Patch. In a quiet moment watching TV together, Weiss nervously started the conversation she’d been working up to in the week they finally had time to be with each other without work to interrupt them.
“Hey Ruby, I wanted to tell you something,” Weiss stated, uncharacteristically twiddling her thumbs.
“And I had something to ask you. So, uh, how about we say it at the same time?” Ruby suggested, equally as nervous.
“Okay. On 3?” Weiss questioned.
“Yeah. 1.”
“2”
“3”
“I’m pregnant,” Weiss announced.
“Will you marry me?” Ruby popped the question at the same time.
They stared at each other for a second, gazes equally shocked and confused. Then they both were smiles and joy, Ruby bringing Weiss into a tight cuddle as Weiss laughed. Tears were shed, and both were grateful for the other.
“How long…?” Ruby started to ask.
“I found out like, two days ago. I’m only a couple months along so far,” Weiss informed, still giggling a little.
“Do you want to have the wedding before or after? I don’t know how you’d feel about being pregnant during the wedding,” Ruby started talking logistics.
“Am I rubbing off on you or something? I thought I was the one to jump right into details,” Weiss raised her brow.
“Maybe,” Ruby giggled.
“We’ll figure it out, dear. We always have,” Weiss assured her.
“You’re right. You’re always right, snowflake,” Ruby booped Weiss’s nose.
“Dolt. My lovely dolt.”
***
Weiss sat on the porch to their Patch home, watching as two little girls played in the front yard. One had bright red hair, the other had white hair but red ends starting at various places on her head. Ruby eventually came out the front door to join Weiss, handing her a mug of coffee as she too watched their daughters play. The younger of the two, with bright red hair, tripped over her own feet. Ruby rushed over to her, still as fast as ever, to help her up and brush her off. Weiss watched on with amusement, sipping her coffee.
“When are auntie Yang and auntie Blake bringing Li over?” The other girl asked Weiss, appearing at Weiss’s side and nearly giving Weiss a heart attack. Mei had apparently inherited Ruby’s speed.
“Mei, please stop giving me heart attacks. Do I have to put a bell on you?” Weiss jokingly threatened her daughter.
Mei pouted, bouncing slightly as she waited for Weiss to answer her question. Weiss sighed but smiled anyway and looked at her scroll for the time. Not that it would really matter what the real time was, Mei would still ask each hour and the hour.
“They’re showing up around 1, sweetie,” Weiss answered, patting her daughter’s head.
“Okay, mommy,” And then the girl was off to go play with her sister again, the toddler having been righted by Ruby who came back to sit with Weiss again.
“Would you be mad if I put a bell on Mei? She snuck up on me again,” Weiss teased.
“If you could even catch her,” Ruby laughed back, picking up her previously abandoned mug,
“Right. You’re still a dolt,” Weiss remarked.
“You’re lovely dolt?” Ruby teased.
“Yep.”
