.~*~.

There was nothing Dream and George loved more than looking after their baby, despite the crying, the stress, the added tension on their bank accounts - raising Luna for the past six months had been the most wonderful experience. They could handle the screaming, the tantrums that came with having an almost one year old, they dealt with the teething stage and everything. But the sleeping, God, the sleeping was the one thing they were beginning to struggle with.

It was around 2 am when Dream and George finally went to bed. They had spent hours, buying a week's worth of supplies online, baby diapers, food for the both of them, the specific brand of baby food they knew Luna liked and a bunch of other stuff. All of their shopping had been done by at least 11:30 but then Luna had woken up and they needed to feed and change her before even attempting to take her upstairs which took at least half an hour.

Then it took ages, to get Luna down again, every time they placed her in her crib, she would begin balling her eyes out after ten minutes. Then each time it took at least another ten minutes to calm her down, the only way she would stop crying was if Dream held her while George cooed at her, shushing her gently.

Eventually, they decided that the only way we were going to get any sleep that night was if Luna slept in the bed with them. So, carefully, Dream rested his baby on his bare chest, on hand on her back and thumb tracing small circle into the fabric of her onesie whilst George rested his head on Dream's shoulder with his arm slung over Dream's waist. Luna fell asleep first, her hands balled into fists against Dream's chest as Dream and George whispered to each other about plans for the next day and what time they needed to wake up before eventually falling asleep themselves.

When Dream woke up the next morning both George and Luna were gone and the bed was cold. He could hear quiet music playing from the kitchen downstairs and when he looked over at the side of his bed he saw that Luna's pacifier was gone from where it had been left on their bedside table. Rolling out of bed, Dream grabbed the first tank top in his wardrobe before heading to the bathroom, quickly brushing his teeth before heading downstairs.

And, God, if what he was met with wasn't the most adorable thing he'd ever seen - he didn't know what was.

The first thing he saw was Luna's highchair at their dining table but there was no baby in it. Instead, Luna was in George's arms as the brunette danced around to music playing from his phone. He held Luna high above his head, spinning her around as she giggled and babbled happily, hands extended down towards George. Every now and then he would bring her closer to his face, nuzzling his nose against hers which only made her giggle more.

"George?" Dream called out, hating to break their little moment. "What time is it?"

"Uh, nine, I think, maybe a little later." The brunette said, bringing Luna back down and cradling her against his chest. "Did the music wake you up?"

"Nah, the bed was just cold and suddenly there was no child on my chest." Dream said with a small chuckle. "You could've woken me up, you know?"

"I know, but I didn't want to." George said, moving over to Luna's highchair and placing her down in it, the baby sitting upright in it, with her hands still outstretched towards George as he moved away. George leaned down and tickled Luna under her chin, straightening up when he felt arms around his waist. "You had a late night."

"So did you." Dream said, leaning his head down on George's shoulder, keeping one arm around his waist before reaching out to gently brush back the small tufts of Luna's blonde hair. "We went to bed at the same time."

"Yeah, but, like, you had to deal with Luna for - like - an hour on your own yesterday while I was at Sapnap and Karl's helping them set up Karl's new monitor, so I figured, why can't I spend an hour with her?" George said, leaning his head against Dream's. "Gotta do stuff equally, you know?"

"Did you feed her?" Dream asked, pressing a soft kiss to George's collarbone.

"First thing I did." George said, smiling gently. "Even changed her, but - Jesus - that was a task."

"Aw, I'm sorry, love." Dream said, though there wasn't an ounce of sympathy in his voice. "Our girl's a bit of a struggle, huh?"

"Our girl." George whispered, his hands slipping from Luna's chin and into her open palm, letting it curl around his finger. "Thank you for letting me be apart of her life."

"You don't have to keep saying that, you know." Dream said, nuzzling slightly against his boyfriend. "We've been raising her together for six months, she's as much yours as she is mine - stop worrying about it."

"I'm not - I'm not worrying about it." George said, shaking his head. "I'm just making sure you know I appreciate it."

"I know, darling, I know." Dream said before slowly pulling away. "Were you making breakfast?"

"I was for Luna, not for us yet though." George said, still staying where he stood, staring adoringly at their baby. "I can if you want though."

"It's okay, I'll make it." Dream said, walking over to the stove and flicking on the grill. "What do you fancy? Pancakes? Bacon?"

"Mm, both?" George asked, looking hopeful. "Please?"

"Only because I love you." Dream said, walking past George and quickly pressing a kiss to his temple on the way to the fridge. George smiled, face going red and he mumbled a small 'love you too' but that was enough for Dream, after a year - it would always be enough for Dream. "You think she's ready to try some bacon today?"

"Hm, maybe." George pulled out a chair from the table and positioned it closer to Luna's high chair, the baby girl continuing to grip his hand. "You wanna try bacon, baby?"

Luna just babbled, but her head was nodding as if she was trying to say yes. George chuckled, getting up from his seat and pressing a kiss to the top of the baby's head before making his way to the cupboard to grab a cup.

"George, can you grab her sippy cup too?" Dream said as he began mixing the batter for the pancakes. "It should be in that cupboard too."

"Mhmm." George hummed, grabbing the green and blue sippy cup that Sapnap and Karl had gotten for Luna as a joke. "Am I getting her water or apple juice?"

"Water for now, I think. It's still early." Dream said, still mixing away to make sure the batter was smooth. "How many pancakes are you wanting, beautiful?"

George blushed, as he always did whenever Dream used that pet name but kept moving as normal, heading to the fridge and grabbing the bottle of cold water they kept in there for warmer days. "I'm not starving, maybe cook half the batter and we can save the rest for tomorrow? Is that okay?"

"Whatever you want, my love." Dream said, smiling as George kissed his cheek as he walked past. "Once you've given her a drink, do you mind grabbing another pan for the bacon?"

"Sure." George said, standing back over by Luna's high chair and setting his own glass on the table before pouring the cold water into Luna's sippy cup. "Come on, Lu, hands."

George made a small grabby hands gesture with his free hand once he'd set the bottle of cold water down and Luna immediately copied, babbling excitedly. Over the months, Dream and George had taught Luna that when either of them made a grabby hand gesture at her, it meant they wanted to hand her something so she would put out her own hands to take whatever it was from them. George smiled as he handed the sippy cup to the baby girl, watching her immediately clamp on to it and bring it up to her mouth.

"Thirsty, huh?" George cooed, watching her carefully as he poured his own glass of water, making sure she didn't spill it or drink too much in one go. "Lu, slow down, sweetie, come on."

George placed a finger on the top of the sippy cup and gently nudged it from Luna's mouth, watching the baby pout but stop drinking for a second, catching her breath for a second before babbling in protest. The brunette chuckled and pulled his hand away from the sippy cup, letting Luna bring it back to her mouth and begin drinking again.

"She's definitely going to be like you when she's older." George said, moving away from Luna and over to the cupboard which stored the pots and pans. "Her favourite drink is definitely going to be water. Big or small pan?"

"Small, I'm not making too much." Dream said, glancing over his shoulder at Luna who had paused drinking from the sippy cup on her own this time, but seemed impatient to start drinking again. "She is guzzling that, jeez. When did she last have a drink?"

"I literally gave her a drink not even ten minutes before you came down in the purple sippy cup." George said with a small chuckle as he placed the pan on the stove for Dream, who smiled appreciatively. "She's just obsessed with water."

"I mean, at least she's not obsessed with monster like Karl." Dream said, shrugging his shoulders. George went to reply when suddenly, Luna let out a sharp cry, tears all of a sudden beginning to stream down from her brown eyes. "Whoa, what's the matter?"

"I don't know." George said, quickly hurrying over to their baby. Luna quieted down when George came closer but continued crying, arms extending up towards him. "Aw, sorry, baby, did I leave you in your high chair for too long?"

"That's what it is?" Dream asked, glancing back over his shoulder again as he flopped a cooked pancake onto the plate he had set up by the stove - there were now three on there. "Nevermind her being like me, she's just like you - clingy as fuck."

"Dream!" George exclaimed, pressing one hand over Luna's - who was now in his arms - ears, her other ear being covered as her head buried into his chest. "We agreed not to swear in front of her now she's starting to form words!"

"I'm sorry, I'm sorry." Dream said with a chuckle as he flopped yet another pancake onto the stack. "Do you wanna finish the bacon and I'll take her for a little? You've had her all morning."

"If you want." George said, moving over to Dream with Luna still snuggled in his arms. "You wanna go to Daddy, baby? Hmm?"

Luna looked between George and Dream and then reached out towards the blonde, babbling something unintelligible but there was definitely the sound of a 'd' in there. Dream smiled brightly and gasped quietly as he took his daughter into his arms, peppering kisses all over her face. Discreetly, he moved out of the way so George could take his place at the stove, grabbing another plate for him to put the bacon on.

"Did you have a good morning with Papa, my girl?" Dream cooed, one hand coming up to tickle under Luna's chin. Luna babbled happily, pretty much nodding her head at Dream as her hands came up to fiddle with the collar of his tank top. "Yeah, what did you do?"

Dream sat down in the seat George had been in and let Luna babble away, making small noises and speaking practically gibberish as if she was telling Dream about her morning. The blonde man listened intently, nodding his head and humming along as Luna 'spoke'. George watched over his shoulder, piling the now cooked bacon onto the other plate and grabbing the plate of pancakes before taking them over to the kitchen table. The brunette sat in the chair beside Dream, pulling it closer so their sides were practically pressed against each other and George could reach Luna better.

"How much do you think, love?" George asked, holding the piece of bacon up for Dream to see.

"Mm, just, like, rip off a little bit and if she likes it maybe we can give her more?" Dream suggested, brushing his hand over the blonde curls growing on Luna's head. "You want Papa to give you some bacon, sweetie?"

Luna reached out to the food in George's hands and babbled as if asking for it and George smiled, ripping a tiny piece of bacon. The blonde baby opened her mouth as she saw George's hand coming towards her and the brunette placed the tiny piece of food onto her tongue, quickly pulling his hand away so she couldn't bite him (she had gotten into the habit of doing that since her teeth had started coming in whenever her dads would feed her). Luna chewed down on the bacon for a second before her face changed, a frown pulling at her small mouth as her eyes welled up with tears.

"No?" Dream chuckled, hand reaching over to ruffle the blonde curls on Luna's head to relax her. The baby swallowed and the frown disappeared but when she saw the bacon in George's hand, which was still relatively near her, her breathing began to pick up, tears rolling down her cheeks. "Okay, yeah, no. She doesn't like bacon."

"Crazy baby." George said, quickly eating the rest of that specific piece of bacon. Once he had eaten it, he showed his hands to Luna, showing that he didn't have anymore. "Look, Lu, no more, it's okay."

"How are you my daughter, Lu, hmm? Not liking bacon, outrageous." Dream teased, leaning over to wipe away the tears and pressing a kiss to the baby's cheek. "What about pancake, baby? You wanna try some pancake?"

That was how most mornings went for Dream, George and Luna. Breakfast together at the dining table before George got ready to go to work (Dream had taken the role of stay at home dad, unofficially because technically he worked from home making websites for big companies) and they would get Luna to try whatever new item of food they had with breakfast. It was simple, some might see it as boring, but for them it was perfect.

Their little family, that was all they needed - absolutely perfect.
