Chapter Text
Cale Henituse, the hero who saved the continent, who gave up his heart for victory (Quite literally), looks nothing like his usual self.
Chaining him to his bed, making him unable to use his powers, and being watched every second, every day.
He is tired, very tired. No matter how much he’d try to break free from the chains, it wouldn’t budge. The injuries he gets is treated with high quality magic potions as well, so he can’t even kill himself.
He is tired, very tired.
Day 365- The 1st anniversary of their Victory
“Today marks one year since that incident.”
Choi Han tells his liege, who in turn says nothing.
“I wouldn’t have gone, but we’re needed for the ceremony.”
“…”
“Cale-nim, me and the others will be gone. Raon, On, and Hong will keep you company in the meantime.”
“…”
“… Cale-nim, we’re doing this for your safety.”
He looks at the three children cuddled closely to Cale, sleeping soundly.
“Please understand.”
He proceeds to close the door, leaving only the four in the room.
-------
*Creaak*
The sound of the closing door reaches the red adult’s ear, making him stare in silence.
It’s been a year since he’s last seen the sun.
All those days inside the same square room, with the same people, and the same food.
It was no different than a prison cell.
The first few days he was in denial, believing they would let him out one way or another.
Weeks passed and anger came next. His family- no, those monsters have no plan on letting him out.
2 months, he bargained with himself.
‘If I apologize to them, they will let me out.’
‘This place isn’t so bad.’
‘I have everything here.’
He tried to enjoy this false happiness and be optimistic of the situation.
But then came depression.
He’s started to miss the sun, the grass, outside.
He’s never talked much or fight back since then.
And acceptance came last.
This was his world now, and he’ll need to put up with everything.
…
But then again, his name is Cale Henituse.
There is always revenge in his list.
-------
On whom was sound asleep woke up to Cale’s shift in position.
Cale who noticed, motioned to the bathroom, which made On nod her head and go back to sleep.
She went back, not knowing what he'd do.
-------
Upon entering the Bathroom, Cale can see no sight of any sharp edge.
He can go no further than the distance to the bathroom due to his chains, he turns on the faucet and looks at himself in the mirror.
He looked fatigued and frail, too different from the commander who fought in great wars.
Cale tried to reach to touch the mirror, but even that is restricted by chains.
“…”
With his hoarse voice, he whispers-
“Hey, God of Death.”
With his hands clasped together and a smirk, he continues.
“I am ready to serve the God of Eternal Rest.”
This time, he will never forgive.

Cale is distressed, but his existence is on the line.
Chapter Text
Cale Henituse is finally resting.
He is enjoying (?) a refreshing glass of lemonade on the balcony of the super rock villa, watching blissfully as the kids play tag, running around the moist covered grass from the rain the night before.
That rest did not last very long, since the excommunicated priestess came running to him.
And as he says, people running to you is always bad news.
“Young master Cale-!”
Cage runs to him in a madman speed, making Cale shiver.
‘Damn it, can I ever rest?!’
“Miss Cage, what is the purpo-“
“THE GOD OF DEATH IS RETIRING!”
“…”
‘What the fuck.’
Cale looks at her in disbelief. Eyes wide open and mouth agape.
‘A God retiring?? No wait, what does this have to do with me?’
“Miss Cage, what does this have to do with-“
“AND HE WANTS YOU TO BECOME HIS SUCCESSOR!”
The woman grips her hair in anger.
Cage screams, quite literally.
“ARGHHHH THAT MUTHERFUCKING GOD OF DEATH!!!”
The people in the super rock villa heard the screech and immediately runs over to them.
“Miss Cage! What happene-“
Rosalyn asks the ex-priestess, who only muttered curses under her breath.
“Human! What happened?! Did that God bother you again? I swear I’ll-“
“Cale-nim!“
Choi Han rushes over, making Raon unable to continue.
What Choi Han saw although, was a blank stared Cale and spilled lemonade.
"WHAT THE FUCK DO YOU MEAN HIS EXISTENCE IS ON THE LINE?!"
With Cage's statement, everyone freezes and Cale finally faints.
-------
“… So, you want me to retire early?”
The God of Death asks Balance, looking at it like it was a crazy dude spouting nonsense.
“Yes. You see, you told me they didn’t consent to their death.”
Balance replies, sitting on his office chair the said God’s office chair.
“And you want Cale Henituse to substitute me?”
He asks, his face full of confusion and maybe even amusement.
“Mhm, to substitute those people, why not just take the one who broke the balance of the world?”
“Plus, Abyss, you like this idea, don’t you?”
Balance sits up straight, looking the God in the eyes.
“… Sigh, fine, you got me this time Balance.”
Snapping his fingers, another identical chair spawns behind him, catching him as he sits.
“Now, what’s in it for you?”
