Chapter Text
“You think you’re all that Kim Possible, but you’re not!” Drakken snarled as his lab exploded around him, another plan gone awry and foiled by the heroes. Kim opened her mouth to retort but was kicked into the far wall; a human-sized dent remained as she fell to the ground, unmoving.
“KIM!” Ron Stoppable’s scream made the mint green woman falter, her eyes locked on the younger woman she’d been fighting. Granted, as she’d gotten older, Shego didn’t hold back as much, but the sickening sound of Kim Possible hitting the wall made her pale.
I swallowed hard as I turned off the video and unplugged the drive. I looked back over my shoulder and swallowed hard. I pulled myself up and walked over to the body on the table. I ran a finger down a slender cheek and sighed as I looked at the monitors next to the body. I’m about to start with the next step when my phone rings. Pulling out my phone, I glance at the name and sigh again. Then, taking a deep breath, I answer it.
“Hello,” I nod as I listen, my eyes narrowing slightly. “No, that won’t be a problem; I can have it back up and running soon,”
“Be sure that you do, and we can’t allow our greatest asset to fall into the wrong hands,”
“I know,” I snapped as I ended the call, slipping the phone back into my lab coat pocket. Taking a fortifying breath, I turned and started my next task, my fingers moving deftly over the keyboard as I glanced at the clock. I had time; I could do it. I hope.

“Uhg…” Kim groaned as she blew her nose. A tissue box was handed to her by a blonde-haired young man, his brown eyes watching her.
“You feeling okay, Kp? You never get sick,”
“Guess it finally caught up with me,” She rasped out as she coughed, her nose ruby red. In front of her on her bedsheets was her homework. Luckily, it wasn’t much, and she’d be able to get it done soon.
“I gotta go, but I’ll be here for dinner on Sunday,” Ron kissed the top of her head and yelped when he got a static shock.
“It must be my electric personality,” Kim laughed as she coughed harshly. Kim laid back on her bed and sighed as she felt exhaustion wash her. Deciding to rest her eyes for a moment, the red-haired young woman closed her eyes with a sigh and let sleep claim her.

“Are you sure you want to do this?” I looked up sharply from my computer and glared at the older man in front of me.
“Excuse me?” I leaned back and pushed my glasses onto the top of my head, my green eyes narrowing slightly. The older man in front of me shifted as he averted his gaze.
“I apologize, Doctor, but there are some on the team that feel you are letting your feelings cloud your judgment on this task, I-”
I push myself to my feet and stare into his eyes, unblinking. “You may want to think very carefully about what you say next,” I whispered, my voice cold and calculated. “I will do whatever I must to keep this project going, am I clear?” He nodded and swallowed hard.
“Yes, ma’am,” I sit back down and pull up another file; pulling down my glasses, I start to read,
“You may go,” I glanced up as the door slid behind him; taking a deep breath, I minimized the file and pulled up the schematics I’d been going over.
“I think it’s time for another upgrade.”

Kim groaned as her computer very slowly completed its updating. “This stupid computer needs to be shot,” A snicker from her best friend had her shooting him a glare.
“You know that Wade and Felix are more than willing to soup that thing up and out, right?” The blonde flipped a page with a frown as he bit the end of his pen, “They love a challenge,” Nodding to himself, he pulled his spiral notebook closer and started jotting down some notes.
“Hey Kimmy-cub, it’s almost dinner time,”
“Okay, dad, we’ll be right down,” Kim nudged Ron’s leg to get him to look up; when he did, she shot him a blinding grin. “I think mom made your favorite,”

“You’ve been tinkering again,” Looking up from my computer, I raise an eyebrow at my husband. “Don’t even try to deny it; I know your handiwork anywhere, my love,” He walked up behind me and placed his hands on my shoulders as he peered over my shoulder and looked at the schematics on the screen.
“Yeah, just throwing ideas to the wall, seeing what sticks,”
“I’m gonna head to bed, don’t stay up to late,” My husband pressed a tender kiss to my lips as I closed the laptop and pulled him closer. Years of marriage and three children hadn’t deadened the flame of our love; it’d grown more robust, deeper, especially since that one day. A moan is pulled from my lips as my husband wrapped his arms around me and cupped my ass through my robe. I hiked up a leg and pulled him closer. We didn’t make it to the bedroom.

As Kim’s Kimmunicator went off with its signature chime, Ron didn't think anything of it. A typical mission, one they’d done over a thousand times already. Drakken had gotten his hands on some device that could do this or whatever, and as usual, it was up to the two heroes to stop them. Simple, routine, so why was he on edge? Kim was fighting Shego; he was fighting the goons and synth drones. All seemed to be going like usual until Shego let out this scream of pure terror. Taking down the last drone, Ron whirled around and stared at the two women. Kim had been kicked through, yes, through a wall. But instead of being battered and bruised, the skin on her arms had been shredded to ribbons down to her elbows, dark blood poured down her arms, and a look of pure anger and rage was on her face. What we could see of her face was bloody and shredded.
“What the fuck?” The words poured out of my mouth as I stared at what I saw. With a roar, Kim launched herself at Shego, but the mint green woman wasn’t fighting back anymore; she was dodging and deflecting. Shego, mercenary, villain, and general badass, had gone on the defensive. The look of horror and disgust didn’t seem to register with Kim as she launched attack after attack against the older woman.

“This is clearly out of your hands; if you can’t be clear-headed about this, I will remove you from the project,” I swallowed hard as I didn’t answer. Hanging up the phone, I turn and look at my husband, then at the slab between us. Pulling back the sheet, I take a deep breath as I pull my mask up and begin to work.
“Annie,” His voice breaks as he places a hand over mine. I look up into his face and take a shaky breath of my own.
“I can still save her,” I watch as my husband lowers his gaze to the mane of red hair and nods slowly.
“What can I do to help?”
“Hand me that scalpel,” I take the cold steel blade and make an incision. The squelching sounds of the blade cutting through fills the room. I hand the blade back to my husband as I carefully pull off the top portion of the skull. “Good, it’s still intact and safe,” I reach in and carefully start to pull on the pulsing mass; I look up and almost stop when I see a head of familiar blonde hair staring at me, his brown eyes wide with horror as he looks from me to my husband then finally to the body on the slab in front of me.
“Ronald, please, son….” Ron turned as pale as a sheet as he turned and nearly tripped back up the stairs. I shared a glance with my husband as he sighed deeply. He set the machine on the stand next to me as he ran after the younger man. This couldn’t get out, not now. Not ever.
