Chapter 1: Painful understanding.
Chapter Text
*A loud swirling sound echoes around the dept of the underground, the earth seemed almost to quake as an unfathomable force presents itself among the earth. Then the sound of something cracking echoes before an even louder sound of a snap cut through the chaotic sounds that plunged the world below Mount Ebott, and then silence.*
[*THE BARRIER HAS BEEN DESTROYED*]
*The small figure of the former and now almost but a memory lost by his kin, the long lost monster prince Asriel Dreemurr descended on the ground. He looks ahead of himself toward a child with guilt, the other child seemed almost completely unafflicted by what happened.*
[You Take a deep breath as you feel the inside of yourself burning. It was time to go.]
*Well... My time's running out. Goodbye. By the way... ...take care of Mom and Dad for me, OK?*
[You feel your eyes burning as you leave with a heavy chest, and mind filled with many thoughts, everything is just too much, and you can hardly take it all.]
[*Asriel fled as Frisk falls unconscious on the ground.*]
[You walk toward the place where no monster ever goes, where you know no one will ever think of searching.]
*How... Just how could I have done such horrible things?*
[You flinch as you feel more of what makes you, yourself leave you. The pit of emptiness and wild primordial will to live already making themselves known deep-rooted where once his soul was.]
*I deserve it after everything that I have done... Mom was right... I really am a horrible miserable creature...*
[You mutter hollowly as you feel tears streaming down...]
*If only Chara never fell down... Maybe I could have been friends with one of them. They seemed nice kids.*
[It hurts You so much, yet it was time to stop projecting, it was time to accept the reality of the facts. And somehow you feel ever more hollow and also filled with so many emotions at once.]
[*Everything is just... Too much.]
*Asriel slips out of the castle walking forward so that no one could notice him... Up in the sky, several silver/white upside-down glowing hearts decorated the ceiling with 6 different glowing hearts of various colors in the middle of them. Asriel looks up and smiled bitterly, but also grievously*
[You look at them with mixed emotions.]
*I pity them all... Despite what they all think on the surface it's not as nice as they dream... The world has a lot of Floweys... And Charas out there.*
[Your breath is caught in your throat, your chest feels heavier than ever, just the sheer mentioning of your sibling makes you tremble as somehow the too much feels even more too much.]
*A sob echoes and cuts through the underground silence as the upside-down hearts slowly float somewhere while glowing, only the 6 normal hearts remain high above.*
[You take a deep breath and begin to move again.]
*The sun shines through the hole of the ceiling, a lonely bed of golden flowers resting underneath the direct sun rays lay there seemingly alone. Asriel then entered the room and somehow a heavy silence fell. With footsteps, the monster took, the somber the room felt.*
[You place yourself on the edge of the flower bed, as you look at it, you feel your inside rage...]
[Asriel]>[ACT]>*Check*
[*Chara tombstone made by your mother. Once this place was a source of the closest thing to comfort... Now you only feel a pit of pain knowing the truth.*]
*Asriel cried again as memories flowed through his mind... At first, it was the closest he felt good happy. Now tho? They only carry bitterness.*
[You can't help but hold yourself tighter as you whimper finally noticing just how messed up your sibling was.]
*I really was an idiot... We all were... They played us for fool... After all Chara could reset to... No Chara still can... Frisk is nothing but something that knowing them, Chara will try to use...*
[You can't help but feel hopeless at the situation. In the end, despite it all... You know the truth.]
*Asriel unknowingly tightened his fists as he felt the primordial feeling slowly take over him while the emptiness started to slowly make him more and more numb.*
*Footsteps echoes inside the cave, and Asriel managed to somewhat relax, after all, he knew who it was...*
[You take a deep breath and focus, as you force yourself to stop from becoming Flowey again... You just want to be left alone for the time being.]
[*Frisk Enters the room*]
'Time to put my dialogues to use...'
*Frisk, please leave me alone. I can't come back. I just can't, OK?*
[You struggle to keep yourself yourself, the mere presence of Frisk makes you want to just run, you can almost feel the presence of Chara within them, looking at you. You know what they probably think...]
*I don't want to break their hearts all over again. It's better if they never see me.*
[Your chest burns with a feeling that you can't quite place among the rest, you only classify akin to bitterness based on your knowledge.]
*...why are you still here? Are you trying to keep me company? Frisk... ... Hey. Let me ask you a question. Frisk... Why did you come here? Everyone knows the legend, right...? "Travellers who climb Mt. Ebott are said to disappear." ... Frisk. Why would you ever climb a mountain like that? Was it foolishness? Was it fate? Or was it... because you...*
[You feel your inside twist in sorrow at such a thing... The world was truly Kill or be Killed. Used or be Used. Fool or be fooled. The underground instead was much better...]
*Well. Only you know the answer, don't you...*
[You notice a faint reaction, finally you can be left alone, and finally be done. You just wanted to be gone, at least like this you won't tarnish more the memories of before, it already hurt too much this. But allowing this thoughts to form as it is, as how you still are... You don't want to completely destroy the childhood memory that you had in this body... You still talk about it all anyway.]
*I know why Chara climbed the mountain. It wasn't for a very happy reason. Frisk. I'll be honest with you. Chara hated humanity. Why they did, they never talked about it. But they felt very strongly about that.*
[Now you can't help but realize that it was similar to why Flowey hated everyone after you killed for the first time... At some point Flowey hated just to hate with no reason... Chara you can't help but wander... Your chest burns even more.]
*Frisk... You really ARE different from Chara. In fact, though you have similar, uh, fashion choices... I don't know why I ever acted like you were the same person. Maybe... The truth is...*
[You feel your already gone heart break again, the pain of realization poisoning the growing void in yourself, but also completely stirr silent your primordial will to live.]
*Chara wasn't really the greatest person.*
[It hurts you more then how the smiley skeleton could hurt you. You said it. You admitted it. Despite the pain your chest feels lighter, it would have been better if Flowey admitted to it... Yet aren't you Flowey? You know you can't play pretend anymore...]
*While, Frisk... You're the type of friend I wish I always had. So maybe I was kind of projecting a little bit. Let's be honest. I did some weird stuff as a flower.*
[You know weird is putting it mildly. You did horrible things you killed just out of curiosity... Yet Frisk doesn't have to know that. They are but a child after all... But You? You stopped being one a long... long time ago... You feel your sins crawling on your back.]
*There's one last thing I feel like I should tell you. Frisk, when Chara and I combined our SOULs together... The control over our body was actually split between us.*
[You notice that Frisk face seemed to almost pale... A small pit of dread build inside of You, recalling that always made you uncomfortable, but now You want to let it out... You never trusted anyone underground with this, but Frisk may be the best choice for this... at least to make sure the Chara's out there may be stopped in case they convince a monster into absorbing their SOUL.]
*They were the one that picked up their own empty body. And then, when we got to the village... They were the one that wanted to... ... to use our full power. I was the one that resisted. And then, because of me, we... Well, that's why I ended up a flower.*
[You notice the sorrow in Frisk eyes, and inside you just wish to hug them and cry on their chest again, to be between the comforting arms of your parents again like so long ago...]
*This whole time, I've blamed myself for that decision. That's why I adopted that horrible view of the world. "Kill or be killed." But now... After meeting you... Frisk, I don't regret that decision anymore. I did the right thing.*
[You see the realization they made at your first quote, turn into surprise at the last.]
*If I killed those humans... We would have had to wage war against all of humanity. And in the end, everyone went free, right? I still feel kind of sad knowing how long it took...*
[But You know it isn't so simple. And by the way Frisk face morph You know They know that to, but it's better to avoid worsening everyone mood.]
*... so maybe it wasn't a perfect decision. But you can't regret hard choices your whole life, right? Well, not that I have much of a life left. But that's besides the point.*
[You feel your chest extremely lighter now, and you sigh in relief... Frisk prompt another reaction from you again.]
*Frisk, thank you for listening to me. You should really go be with your friends now, OK? Oh, and, please... In the future, if you uh, see me... Don't think of it as me, OK? I just want you to remember me like this. Someone that was your friend for a little while. Oh, and Frisk... Be careful in the outside world, OK? Despite what everyone thinks, it's not as nice as it is here. There are a lot of Floweys out there. And not everything can be resolved by just being nice. Don't kill, and don't be killed, alright? That's the best you can strive for. Well, see you.*
[It's done. you feel it. you know it. Soon you will be Flowey again. You can't hold on any longer, and you already feel roots under your foot and your body starting to melt a little. Frisk prompts to talk with you again.]
*Frisk... Don't you have anything better to do?*
[Frisk tries again, and you repeat yourself, eventually the child left a bit sad. and letting out a tired huff your body reverse back into a golden flower.]
*The flower stares at nothing with an hunted look... Despite it all...*
[*The weight of everything that happened doesn't leave you.*]
[You now know nothing will ever be the same ever again... Despite being a soulless flower again... You can't shake off this event...]
[*Despite everything it's still You. Although You won't admit it for a very long time.*]
Chapter 2: Quiet Wonder
Summary:
Flowey mind wonders as he stare at the ruins of Old Home
Chapter Text
*The flower stares at nothing with a hunted look... Despite it all...*
[*The weight of everything that happened doesn't leave you.*]
[You now know nothing will ever be the same again... Despite being a soulless flower again... You can't shake off this event...]
[*Despite everything, it's still You. Although You won't admit it for a very long time.*]
*The flower borrowed below the ground after letting out a heavy sigh.*
[*A few days later*]
[Monsters began to leave the underground, You watched as they up and left, you watched as everyone chattered in excitement...]
*Look at them, so happy... So hopeful... So... So Naive.*
[You can't help but spat out... You know the truth of the world up above, you have been there, you have experienced it... You were brutally assaulted there, and your sibling showed its true colour there...]
*The last of the monster left the area of New Home the flower looked with his petals dropped and lacking their usually strong shininess*
*I pity them all... But maybe things will be fine. The world might be kill or be Killed, but not everyone will follow this rule. Frisk is proof of it. They are not like Chara.*

[You don't know how much time passed, it is hard to tell in the underground, but the majority of monsterkind left it, only a few monsters remained behind, and they were mainly the ones from the ruins.]
[You stare at a glimmering golden star, you feel your roots pulse your petal vibrating as a burning primordial feeling rushed inside you. It feels like a fire that simply exists by willpower yet at the same time it's not raging like an inferno, but calmer as if confusion and chaos were left behind for a sense of balance and order.]
[*Despite the uncertainty of life, everything is different now. You do not know what it will all entail, but the end has come.]
[*Despite everything you are filled with Determination*]
Save Failed
[*You let out a shaky sigh, the save point is among the few points that you are comfortable being around for a long period of time. The way the golden star replenishes your hollow self is among the few things that gave you relief. Even if you can't access their ability to Save Load and Reset.*]
[*You stare at the ruins of the old city. Memories of days long since gone off the time before everything went wrong. Of before Chara fell fills your mind.*]
*... Why did this all have to happen?*
[*You voice out to no one in particular, the question was more of a rhetorical one. You know you did horrible things when you were in control, but none of this would have happened to begin with if Chara never fell here.*]
*Yet the choice was mine... I can't blame them for my decisions alone...*
[*As you keep thinking tho, you can't shake a horrible feeling...*]
*It is true that they were the ones that took their own body on the surface... And they were about to use our full power... And then I refused and... A-and w-we...*
[*You are suddenly struck with a realization.*]
*It was not my body... It was ours. It was not my soul anymore it was our souls combined... I have a bad feeling about it... Why did I wake up here and not both of us?*
[*Your body shakes a little at the prospect of sharing a body with Chara. A cold chill settling in your stern...*]
*Thinking back on it it's better this way. It would have been a disaster who knows what could have happened? For them everything was done only with their goal in mind...*
[*You stare at everything around you as your voice echoes are carried in the empty room... Then you snorted and soon the snort turned into a deranged laugh.*]
*Why am I even thinking this things? It's not like I can actually care! HAHAHAHAHAHAHA*
[*Soon your laugh gets choked by sobbing as frustration and bitterness take their hold.*]
*IT'S NOT FAIR!*
[*You shout as pain now completely affirms inside of your stern, an endless aching that seems to expand within you. However, you then deflate and look down as tears start to slowly drop from your eyes. After all, why bother if Chara may end up resetting whenever they wanted...*]
*The True Reset is theirs now, I gave up. It's not like I can stop the inevitable... And honestly, I'd rather forget this than live in a loop with this memory fresh in my head.*
*I...*
*I don't think I could do all that again...*
[*Despite Everything It's still you Asriel.*]
*Silence drops as the flower now simply stares down, he was a mess of emotions inside. But the quiet was somehow calming.*
[*The quiet of Old Home, it's a perfect representation of what your childhood truly was. Where once one would see with the illusion of nostalgia, now you can only see ruins.*]
[* The quiet makes your mind wander in thoughts. Long ago wandering in thoughts with the quiet was something you heavily detested, because all you could think was about Chara and how you screwed up.*]
[*Yet the quiet now is something you appreciate. As your mind wanders in the realm of thoughts deep down you can't help but feel contempt.*]
*Frisk... I hope you're happy out there.*

[*Time has passed that much you know. You gave them your last plead to not True Reset, but you think it went toward death ears. Chara always did what they wanted. It was who they were after all.*]
[*You do not know how much time passed precisely, but weeks are the most likely of chances to be. You did not even dare to cross out of here. Going to the surface was tempting. Too tempting. You did not want to tarnish everything that was achieved.*]
[*This place was your old room, the one you had before things went wrong. Before Chara entered your life... Before they ruined everything.*]
[*You greet your teeth as your mind keeps forming thoughts of this kind.*]
*Why?*
*Why!?*
*WHY AM I STILL THINKING THIS THINGS!!?*
[*You shout in the empty silent and cold room. Once it was so bright and cosy, filled with loneliness but also joy. Of better days.*]
[*You can't help but feel anger rise within you. This room was the room where Toriel your mom ended up letting every single other human child sleep. She completely forgot you as if for her you meant nothing.*]
*The flower started to shake, and a feeling he couldn't describe presented itself in his hollow self, from his voice sounds similar to growling came out as his body started to suddenly grow, spikes growing on his stern.*
[*At that moment memories started to fill your mind. Not in a single time since you came back to life unless she ever seemed to show any importance toward you. For her Chara always was more important. Not once as she ever seemed to give a sign she cared about him.*]
*At that moment he roared. Roared. The sound of it made the now empty ruins shake a bit as it echoed and reverberate everywhere. White bullets formed around him yet he didn't fire them... No instead he started crying. But the voice that came out of him was distorted and made of multiple tonalities at once.*
room_ruinsexit
[*You stare down petal dropped as the save point shines beside you, the light coming from a crack above this patch of grass tells you that it's already night outside because of how dark the room it's turned.*]
*That's a wonderful idea...*
[*You utter out the voice echoes around yet it's completely weak compared to the roaring you unleashed on your old room.*]
[*You feel just so... Tired.*]
[*What happened before in your old room completely shakes you. That strong emotion you felt left you suddenly feeling even worse than when you grew tired of everything. It's as if that tiredness was nothing compared to this one.*]
[*The Save Point light glimmer around you, and you feel a warm primordial feeling rushing within your stern and petals, your whole being pulses with life, you tiredly looked up and briefly wander about what would the night sky look like right now.*]
[*Your mind fills with images of how several stars could be filling the black sky while the moon shines and illuminate it. You can almost see how the world around you would seem different, like a fantasy game, the quiet of the night. Stargazing. And so many more things. You wonder if Frisk is stargazing at this time. Maybe with Papyrus and that smiley brother of his.]
[*The feeling that was swallowing you suddenly changed, the thought of Frisk living their life suddenly making you feel less bitter...*]
[*You chuckle softly and tiredly.*]
*Just what happened to me? Why does it feel like I care about them?*
[*You truly feel confused. Is this a side effect of absorbing an equivalent power to 7 Human SOULs? Is this a side effect of how every monster cared about Frisk? Was it because Frisk pressed that weird SAVE button during your fight?*]
*The flower let out a long sigh the Save Point still glimmered beside him and the Determination inside of him rushed freely.*
*Well... It doesn't really matter anyway. It probably it's an echo. One that simply wouldn't last long. Or whatever...*
[*You briefly look back... What happened earlier in your old room briefly takes a front seat, and with it the weird emotion as well...*]
*Maybe it's better if I go somewhere else... Who knows what I could end up doing if I end up having another episode like that one? I'd rather not risk it... I don't want to ruin Frisk happy ending.*
[*Asriel left the Ruins.*]
Chapter 4: Regret.

[*Snowdin was so quiet. No sound to be heard, the house is all empty, even in a state of ruins. The place looked like the shell of its former self. Slowly becoming more and more like the Ruins. You can't help, but feel a pang of sorrow...*]
*The flower stare at one house in particular finding himself lost in memories.*
*Papyrus... He always was my favourite among them all...*
[*You look down simply lost in yourself, this was among the weirdest time of your life. It was all just so confusing...*]
*...*
*Why?*
*Why?*
*WhY aM I CaRiNG?*
[*Your face melts as your voice distorts, you can't understand, even without a SOUL it seems like you have a small ability to care. Which keeps only on confusing you.*]
*WhY!?!?*
...
*But Nobody Came*
*It was at that moment that he started to cry again.*
*I Never Wanted any of this to happen! I DID NOT WANT TO BECOME LIKE THIS!*
[*And yet, you did. You might not have wanted it, but you can't play pretend anymore. You did horrible things even if it was on other timelines that did not happen.*]
*I just... I...*
[*You can't find the Determination to keep moving forward. And soon you start to drown in memories of days, of when it all started. Of when you allowed yourself to do horrible things...*]
*The Save Point still shines, but the flower golden petals seemed to have lost their brightness.*
