Garashir
After, they both laughed, used the silliness as fuel for their desires.
At the time, it hadn’t felt nearly so good, of course.
For the longest time, Bashir lingered, a bad case of Pining, if he’d ever diagnosed one.
And all the while, Garak had thought… well, he’d thought that Bashir had understood.
He’d forgotten that just because a person is intelligent in one area, does not automatically mean or imply that they are intelligent in all areas.
Clearly – as it turned out – Bashir was NOT intelligent when it came to emotional things.
Except of course, for those times when Garak would have prefered he were not. Then he turned out to be quite emotionally intelligent.
But not for the times that actually mattered.
Quite frustrating.
They'd almost lost each other because of it.
Fortunately, inasmuch as either of them believed in something as intangible as Fortune, they did not. They realized that they definitely did feel similarly for each other.
Things abruptly got much better. Not without its flaws and faults, but better for them being shared.
In any case, they knew now – both of them, at the same time – and it was glorious indeed.

Quodo
“See to it that you remember this time. OR I will be forced to take stronger measures.”
With that, Constable Odo made his way out of Quark’s Bar, leaving behind a small bundle of outrage that was its propriator.
Really, it was intolerable! Quark’s lobes fairly vibrated with outrage. They did send certain sensations all the way down to his toenails.
Sensations he more normally put with how he felt toward profit.
And the Constable, may he be damned to the Vault of Eternal Destitution!!!!
Didn’t he know that over half of the shady business deals he made were simply to attract Odo’s attention? Get him to spend time here, chewing him out for one offense or another?
The offense was how thoroughly Odo ignored him.
The Constable, who spent his time mooning over Kira, who ignored him when it came to matters of love, hairing after Vedeks and First Ministers like she was still starving on the streets.
If she didn’t want him, he – Quark – most certainly did.
Pity that the Constable couldn’t see it.
