I sighed softly as I looked out the window waiting for something to happen until a hand was placed onto my shoulder causing me to jump slightly.
“Hey, is everything alright?”
“Not exactly, I really miss my sister. . . She shouldn’t have died Jonah, she still had a life ahead of her, I was too late to save her and THEY took her away from me!!”
“Roman, this isn’t your fault,” He tried to reassure me, “She was at the wrong place at the wrong time.”
“SO YOU’RE TELLING ME SHE WALKED INTO IT?! JONAH, THIS ISN’T FUCKING FUNNY!” I cried out clenching my fists tightly, “We both know she didn’t come home that night, and we sure as hell knew what happened next. . . You can’t keep pretending that it didn’t happen.”
“I. . . I’m sorry Roman, I thought I could cheer you up and help you forget about your sister’s death. . . I really wish it wasn’t real, I wish we could bring her back. . . Harley was a good girl, she had plans to confess her feelings to Adam.”
I gripped my arm looking away letting the tears roll onto my cheek, I knew we weren’t getting her back. . . I knew that her voice wasn’t real, I wish it was me instead of her. . .
“Hey, would you like to come and join me for some coffee? We got some pretty big stuff to work on.”
“Yeah, I would love to join you Jonah. . . It would be nice to clear my head before work.”
