Work Header

desperate times, desperate measures

Summary:

He feels so full of water, and sometimes when the car jolts atop a small bump in the roadside, it jostles the pressure inside him, making the sensation in his tummy feel even more uncomfortable.

But he's not about to burst just yet, so it's fine. Kim Dokja simply wishes he could ask for them to stop somewhere for just a quick moment, to relieve himself – but with a small wilt, Kim Dokja recalls how Yoo Joonghyuk reacted to Kim Namwoon earlier. They're not allowed to ask for another rest stop, or else hyung will get super mad at him. And it's Kim Dokja's fault for not going down, of course; he should've gone even though he was sleepy, because then he wouldn't be in this embarrassing situation.

After the end, this small family of 6 go on a road trip. But on the way back, Kim Dokja seems to be having a little problem...

“Everybody ready?”

Yoo Joonghyuk asks this from the driver’s seat of their large van, looking back at the others through the rearview mirror. Lee Hyunsung nods affirmatively after taking note of all their luggage, as Uriel shoots him an ‘OK’ sign.

Kim Namwoon and Lee Jihye are in the far back, putting an end to their not-so-quiet bickering to give Yoo Joonghyuk two nods. Kim Namwoon looks distinctly pleased, while Lee Jihye appears disgruntled, probably due to the misfortune of having to sit next to Kim Namwoon the whole ride back. On their arrival trip, she had actually knocked him unconscious to avoid having to deal with that. She doesn’t do that this time, but Yoo Joonghyuk would rather not know why that is.

After receiving their confirmations, Yoo Joonghyuk turns to the boy seated next to him, who is sipping on a straw, drinking from his tumbler. “Dokja. Do you have everything?”

Kim Dokja nods, directing a smile at Yoo Joonghyuk. His lips momentarily let go of the straw to say with an enthusiastic chirp, “Yup!”

Yoo Joonghyuk smiles back at him, before he gazes more seriously through the rearview mirror again. “It’s going to be a long trip, so if any of you forget anything, I won’t be going back to get it. Does everyone understand?”

There’s a varying echo of “Yes, Captain,” only broken by a light voice saying, “Yes, hyung!”

Satisfied, Yoo Joonghyuk starts the car, and drives out of the parking space.

Unsurprisingly, they’re only thirty minutes into the 12-hour ride back when Kim Namwoon starts screeching in alarm. Yoo Joonghyuk doesn’t slam the brakes, because he is unfortunately accustomed to Kim Namwoon’s antics by now, but it’s a close thing. He glares at him through the rearview mirror, projecting every bit of venom into the gesture. “What.”

Kim Namwoon looks scared shitless, visibly sweating, but apparently voicing his thoughts outweigh the consequences. “C–C–Captain,” he drones with a faltering smile on his face, his eyes blank with dreadful resignation. “I left my limited edition mecha in the villa we were staying at.”

Resounding silence. Even Lee Hyunsung starts sweating, while Lee Jihye’s eyes flicker with hellish cheer. “Kim… Namwoon…” Yoo Joonghyuk grits out.

But Kim Dokja, his perfect little star, tugs on his sleeve gently. When Yoo Joonghyuk glances at him, the annoyance instantly washes away, like magic. Kim Dokja offers, “It’s okay hyung, we can go back. We’re still a little early, right?”

Yoo Joonghyuk, for the life of him, cannot refuse Kim Dokja anything. Kim Namwoon gets to live another day, unfortunately. In his peripheral, he sees the way Kim Namwoon almost passes out in sheer relief, while Lee Jihye slumps in disappointment. Yoo Joonghyuk lets out a long suffering sigh. Kim Dokja pats him comfortingly on the arm.

They turn back around, Kim Namwoon rushes out and back in at the speed of light with the acquired mecha figurine, and they skid back onto the road. Yoo Joonghyuk recalculates their estimated time of arrival, and informs the car passengers of some changes.

“We’ll have to skip a few rest stops if we’re going to get home at a reasonable hour. Do you want the rest stops earlier, or later?”

Uriel speaks up. “Earlier, Captain! The rest stops are creepier at night.” Kim Dokja nods his head, agreeing.

“Earlier it is, then.”

A couple hours in, they make their first stop. They all get out save for Yoo Joonghyuk and Kim Dokja, whom the former asks, “No need to use the bathroom?”

Kim Dokja shakes his head, looking up from where he was scrolling through an ebook on his phone. “Not yet, hyung. Maybe at the next stop.”

At the aforementioned next stop, another few hours into the ride, Kim Dokja gets down with the rest of the group, which means that Yoo Joonghyuk does too. They take their bathroom break, the kids (Kim Dokja, definitely Kim Namwoon, debatably Lee Jihye) buy useless trinkets, and they take some time to eat a bit of food.

Kim Dokja refills his empty flask with more water, as Uriel-noona asks him if he wants a milkshake for the road – her treat. He glances towards Yoo Joonghyuk for his approval, and when he nods, Kim Dokja enthusiastically agrees with a shy smile. Uriel squeals and hugs him, for some reason always excited whenever she gets to spoil him. Kim Dokja tries not to feel bad taking advantage of her kindness, only assuaged by Uriel's warm embrace.

When they get back in the car, Lee Jihye apparently convinces Lee Hyunsung to switch places with her, who makes a perfect impression of a block of steel as Kim Namwoon attempts to chat him up. On the other hand, Lee Jihye excitedly talks to her new seat partner about the horror-action portion of the theme park they visited earlier in the week, recounting all her favorite rides and events. Uriel has a fiery sparkle in her eye as they voice their opinions on the killing scenes of one of the showings.

Kim Dokja joins in on the conversation for a bit, before turning back to his phone with his milkshake in hand. Yoo Joonghyuk scolds him not to read in the car, lest he get motion sickness; Kim Dokja reluctantly puts the phone down, staring out the window instead.

After a while, the weather begins to turn sweltering, beating even the air conditioning in the van. Joonghyuk opens the windows to let the breeze in, but he still reminds Kim Dokja to drink some water to keep himself hydrated. The boy obeys, drinking from his water flask again before setting it back in the cup holder next to his empty milkshake cup.

The heat comes bearing down, the sun clearly intent on torturing them with it. Every 30 minutes or so, Yoo Joonghyuk urges Kim Dokja to drink a few gulps of water, scaring him with the threat of heat stroke. Kim Dokja would have followed his command either way, but the intimidation makes him keep the bottle open in his lap instead of closed at the cup holder, taking a few sips every now and then. It even helps with his boredom, somehow.

Time continues to move forward. A little more than halfway through the trip, they take their last rest stop. "Do all that you need to do, because we'll be going the rest of the way through without stopping after this. And Kim Namwoon, I don't care if you're about to sh…" Yoo Joonghyuk glances at Kim Dokja, "... dirty your pants. Don't believe I won't throw you out of the vehicle."

Kim Namwoon coughs sheepishly, chagrined. "I hear you loud and clear, Captain."

Kim Dokja, drooping with sleep from the monotonous drive, tunes in on the conversation but pays it no mind. Yoo Joonghyuk sees the way his eyes slowly slide shut, and deigns not to disturb the boy. Kim Dokja himself doesn't want to get up, and he doesn't feel like he has to, anyway. He'll survive the next several hours.

Kim Dokja's eyes flutter back open a while later as they're on the road again, woken up due an uncomfortable pressure in his lower abdomen. The discomfort grows as slow as a tortoise, but it still grabs Kim Dokja's attention no matter how hard he tries to ignore it. He wonders how long he'll have to endure it, and is about to ask his hyung when the next rest stop is – until he remembers that they won't be taking any more stops.

So instead, he asks Yoo Joonghyuk how long they have until they get home. "Hyung," Kim Dokja calls out a bit groggily, still recovering from the lingering sleepiness. He shifts in his seat to stretch a little, before bringing his hands up to cover a yawn and rub his eyes. "Are we almost there?"

Yoo Joonghyuk side eyes him, briskly cataloguing every inch of his frame, making sure he's alright. He turns back to the road after a quick moment. "We're still a few hours away, Dokja."

Kim Dokja tries not to squirm at the unfortunate news. Yoo Joonghyuk still catches something, and he side eyes Kim Dokja again, but this time with a furrowed brow. "Is something wrong? What is it?"

Kim Dokja shakes his head no, slowly and sleepily so that his hyung doesn't suspect anything. "No, it's nothing hyung, I'm just wondering."

He hears a consoling sigh. "I know. It's been a long trip," Yoo Joonghyuk concedes, even though he looks as awake and alert as ever despite the long hours spent at the wheel. Kim Dokja knows everything about his hyung, and he shouldn't be surprised by his resilience – but he still can't help but be slightly amazed. Kim Dokja already took two naps… he can't imagine staring at the road with nothing to do for any longer than half an hour.

Yoo Joonghyuk keeps his eyes on the road, but he lifts one hand to rest on Kim Dokja's head, ruffling the hair affectionately. Kim Dokja immediately puffs up in contentment, his hyung's attention more than enough to shift his focus from his growing problem.

Still, as time goes on, his bladder becomes more and more insistent.

He berates himself in his mind, wondering why he couldn't have gone to pee earlier.

…He just has to endure it for a while longer. In habit, Kim Dokja chants internally to himself, I am Yoo Joonghyuk. I am Yoo Joonghyuk. I am Yoo Joonghyuk.

Minutes and hours pass them by, until the wait genuinely becomes unbearable to Kim Dokja. But he starts to recognize a few key landmarks that tell him they're almost home, so he lets out a silent breath of relief, counting down the minutes until he can finally run to the bathroom and let go. Unknown to him, he doesn't realize he begins to squirm in his seat, shifting his butt from side to side. The man next to him observes it with a sharp eye, but says nothing.

They're about to take the exit off the freeway, almost home, when they suddenly bump into a long line of traffic. The bright lights of the cars against the darkening night stretch on and on – and even though they can see the exit from their spot in the van, the line is unmoving. At the sudden stop, Kim Dokja lurches awake, having closed his eyes to try and keep ignoring his area of concern. "W–what happened?"

Kim Namwoon groans in abject frustration. "Don't tell me there's traffic now – it's so late! I'm dying to return to my huge, fluffy bed." Lee Jihye rolls her eyes, but purses her lips in agreement.

Lee Hyunsung is the only one who looks concerned, a heart of gold. "Was there an accident?"

Uriel is already tapping away on her phone, checking their GPS status. "Argh, yeah, there is. How unfortunate." Funnily enough, she only looks annoyed at the situation.

Kim Dokja, on the other hand, barely hears their words. His legs are shaking minutely, caused by the urgent tension in his abdomen. Earlier, he found out that squirming only makes the feeling more unmanageable, so he tries to stay still as best he can.

Ahh… how could this be? They were only 10 minutes away from home, so, so close – but now it's been delayed for who knows how long. He almost whimpers at his misfortune, feeling shamefully desperate to let his bladder out.

Kim Dokja really, really can't hold it in anymore. He needs to go to the bathroom, now.

Quickly, shakily, he takes in a deep breath. No, he can hold it in. He – he can do it. He can't worry everyone with this small, tiny issue. They'll only stress more if he starts to get antsy, so he keeps his mouth shut and tries his best to ride it out for just a few minutes more. Just a little more, just a little more…

After a few, agonizing moments, the line slowly starts to move again. However, it's bit by bit, so every time the car in front steps on the brakes, they do too – and the back-and-forth only prods at Kim Dokja's bladder, sloshing the water around and around like it's just begging to come out. Kim Dokja wants it to come out too, but not now.

In a daze, Kim Dokja soon realizes that they've finally made it out of traffic's way, practically speeding home. The sky is completely dark now, the sun having fully submerged while they were waiting on the road. Kim Dokja feels hazy with the excruciating discomfort in his abdomen, hours of holding it in finally chipping away at his strength. Every tiny jostle of the car has Kim Dokja whining in the back of his throat, inaudible except to himself.

Well, inaudible except to himself, and those with trained ears. Yoo Joonghyuk sneaks a glance at the slumped over Kim Dokja, his gaze unreadable.

"Ahh, home sweet home!" Kim Namwoon groans in relief as they pull up, stretching and cracking some of his bones. He grabs his bag and practically runs over the women in the middle row. "Get me out of here."

As Lee Jihye and Uriel turn murderous eyes towards him, muscles tensing in combat, Yoo Joonghyuk ignores it in favor of checking on the tired boy next to him.

"Kim Dokja. We're here."

When Kim Dokja doesn't offer any response, his legs shaking, Yoo Joonghyuk furrows his brows. "Dokja. What's wrong?"

The rest of the passengers immediately turn to look their way, eyes focused on the boy in concern. "Dokja-yah?" Uriel calls out. "Answer your hyung, are you alright?"

At an angle which only Yoo Joonghyuk can see, Kim Dokja turns his head slightly. It’s dark outside, but the lights from their home’s front porch is enough for Yoo Joonghyuk to see the teary sheen of Kim Dokja’s eyes. The sight instantly awakens several things inside Yoo Joonghyuk – his worry, his alarm, and… his excitement.

The first two are automatic responses to that sort of expression on Kim Dokja – but he knows they're not in any danger. In fact, he knows exactly why Kim Dokja is so distressed in the first place.

With a single gesture of his hand, the other passengers suddenly grab their things and exit the van with astounding speed, no questions asked. The van door clicks shut, the echo resounding through the confined space. It's just the two of them in the car now, leaving Kim Dokja with the confidence to tell his hyung what's wrong without the added embarrassment of other people.

"Hyung…" Kim Dokja utters out in a close sob. Yoo Joonghyuk immediately places a hand on his back, stroking comfortingly.

"What is it?"

"I – I can't move. I'm sorry," Kim Dokja apologizes with clear guilt in his tone. He feels so bad that he has to ask hyung to carry him, especially because he's not a child anymore – but he still makes the request anyway, since he doesn't want to pee all over Joonghyuk-hyung's van. He's so useless. "Can – can you please carry me to the bathroom? It hurts…"

"What hurts? Your stomach?" Yoo Joonghyuk asks him, concern laced in his voice. "There's a baggie here, you can throw up if you need to –"

Kim Dokja quickly shakes his head. "No, no, hyung. Can you just get me to the bathroom, please? I – I have to go." He starts to rub at his lower stomach, and presses his trembling legs together, squirming, like he's trying to hold something in.

Kim Dokja blinks his tears away, turning his head to instead look down at where he massages his own stomach, unable to hold Yoo Joonghyuk’s gaze. He patiently waits for his hyung to move and pick him up, and he watches as Yoo Joonghyuk’s other hand places itself over Kim Dokja’s own. Kim Dokja continues moving his hand along with Joonghyuk-hyung's, comforted by the gesture, but then suddenly –

Yoo Joonghyuk presses down hard.

Kim Dokja yelps in sudden distress, caught off guard by the abrupt push right up against his bladder, a stream of piss accidentally escaping him. In a panic, he grasps at Yoo Joonghyuk’s hand, quickly attempting to pry it off as his legs squeeze impossibly closer together. Yoo Joonghyuk lets up after a moment, but does not remove his place over his abdomen. He rubs circles around Kim Dokja’s back and stomach again, shushing him.

Hungry eyes rove over Kim Dokja’s frame, but Kim Dokja misses it, all his focus centered on keeping a watertight control over his bladder, having stopped the stream before it could go past the point of no return. Still, Yoo Joonghyuk is quietly delighted to see a dark, wet patch on the top of Kim Dokja’s pants.

“No no no,” Kim Dokja begs quietly, his eyes rimmed red. “Hyung, Joonghyuk-hyung, I – I can’t…!”

Leaning further towards Kim Dokja, Yoo Joonghyuk presses a lingering kiss on the side of his face, which is slightly damp with sweat. “Doesn’t it hurt, Dokja-yah?” Yoo Joonghyuk asks against his ear, unrepentant of the intense shiver that runs through the boy at his voice. “You can let go, hyung won’t judge you.”

Kim Dokja is stubborn, even though he’s well aware that this was a losing battle from the very beginning. A repressed part of his mind shudders in subdued pleasure – satisfied that Yoo Joonghyuk has him in his clutches, eager to let Yoo Joonghyuk take control. Kim Dokja shakes his head of the thoughts, unwilling to cede his ground. “The car…” he manages to pant out. “Dirty!”

“Hyung will clean it up,” he hears in response, but Kim Dokja keeps shaking his head as he groans in helpless frustration, desperate but confused as to why Yoo Joonghyuk seems totally fine with Kim Dokja wetting his pants, something that only babies do. He considers punching Yoo Joonghyuk, but decides that the risk of accidentally letting more pee out if he removes his focus for even one second is far too great.

As it stands, the weight of Yoo Joonghyuk’s large, warm hand is still on his stomach, making Kim Dokja very uneasy. He’s still trying to pull it off, but Yoo Joonghyuk barely budges. Distantly, Kim Dokja can sense how hot his own face is, ashamed beyond belief. Why was hyung embarrassing him like this...?!

He feels Yoo Joonghyuk plant another slow, gentle kiss right next to his parted lips, wet and soft. Kim Dokja feels like he’s pulling apart at the seams, truly at his utter limit, just as Yoo Joonghyuk pauses before the final push.

“Ready?” is all he says, and Kim Dokja can feel Yoo Joonghyuk’s curved lips against his cheek even while his own head shakes in rapid motions, little “no’s” falling out of his mouth as he pleads with Yoo Joonghyuk to have mercy, just this once.

The pressure of his hand is slow, and steady, and it’s somehow so much worse than how Yoo Joonghyuk did it the first time. It forces Kim Dokja to concede, to surrender – and try as he might, he is not strong enough to continue holding on, his bladder screaming at him to let go.

Kim Dokja jerks when he feels another gush of pee dribble out, quickly willing it to stop stop stop. But Yoo Joonghyuk realizes this, and he gradually presses down harder, and firmer, until Kim Dokja thrashes intensely for a moment, putting up one last fight, before finally stilling.

Yoo Joonghyuk leans back and watches unblinkingly as Kim Dokja suddenly tenses up, eyes fluttering half shut as a high-pitched, lengthy whine tips out of his parted mouth. It dissolves into a choked sob, while the tension suddenly melts and he slumps in his seat, his thighs shaking as tremors gently wash over his frame like waves. Kim Dokja almost looks like how he does when in the middle of an orgasm, and Yoo Joonghyuk drinks in the sight like a man starved.

The visible puddle on Kim Dokja's pants spreads and grows, until it quickly covers all of Kim Dokja's crotch, with several streams visibly dripping down Kim Dokja's sweatpants legs. Kim Dokja hardly cares, at this point – after finally being able to alleviate his bladder, all he's concerned about now is how amazing the relief feels, after holding it in for far too long.

The back of his mind is still shrieking in humiliation, sure, but it's turned into a distant thing. Yoo Joonghyuk stopped pushing a while ago, his hand now rubbing up and down Kim Dokja's abdomen – his stomach, his chest, paying special attention to his nipples lying underneath the fabric. Kim Dokja shifts at the sensation, still leaking like a faucet. Yoo Joonghyuk murmurs at him, "Good boy, Dokja. Isn't it nice to finally let it go?" Kim Dokja nods woozily, only half-registering the question.

It goes on for so long; the constant, hot stream spurting out feels almost never ending. Kim Dokja's head is a bit foggy with pleasure though, which is weird because he usually only feels this sort of way after he and Yoo Joonghyuk go at it. But he pays it no mind, finally rewarded after hours of torture, panting deep breaths. The faint smell of piss fills the car after a while, and when he's finally emptied out everything, the large mess in Kim Dokja's pants and down his legs starts to get cold and uncomfortable.

Aware of his mounting discomfort, Yoo Joonghyuk finally picks Kim Dokja up the way that he asked earlier, noticing how the boy's clothes are absolutely drenched. Some of it leaks onto his own clothes when he places Kim Dokja in his lap, but he can’t find it in him to mind all that much. He glances at the small pond created on top of Kim Dokja’s seat – but with a flourish of probability ■■■■, the seat goes back to its original, clean state, as if nothing had ever happened.

He rewards Kim Dokja with a sweet kiss on the lips. Limp, Kim Dokja simply opens his mouth and accepts it with weak movements, shyly reciprocating. When they part for a moment, Yoo Joonghyuk gazes into Kim Dokja’s eyes with satisfaction, praising, “Hyung is pleased.” Cheeks red, Kim Dokja feebly smiles back at him – too small and embarrassed to be happy, but big enough to let Yoo Joonghyuk know he’s fine.

Kim Dokja then buries his head into Yoo Joonghyuk’s neck, exhausted and still experiencing lingering shame. Yoo Joonghyuk continues to spread affection over his face and neck, communicating to Kim Dokja that he didn’t do anything bad. Secure in his hold, Yoo Joonghyuk gets out of the car and heads straight to the master bedroom and bathroom, turning on the bathtub to fill it with water before shedding Kim Dokja of his soggy clothes.

They soak together for a while, until the water turns lukewarm. It was a long day, so after making Kim Dokja consume one last glass of water, they turn in for bed.

Yoo Joonghyuk usually doesn’t sleep until he hears the sound of Kim Dokja breathing deep, content to watch the boy doze off. Kim Dokja is about to lean over the edge of unconsciousness, nestled in Yoo Joonghyuk’s warm embrace, when he suddenly tenses and opens his eyes.

“Dokja?” Yoo Joonghyuk questions.

“Hyung…” Kim Dokja furrows his eyebrows as best he can towards him, eyes half-lidded with sleep. He yawns, tiny and tired, before asking, “Did you cause the traffic earlier?”

Yoo Joonghyuk chuckles unexpectedly at the wild claim, caught red-handed. “Go back to sleep, Dokja,” he says, before giving him one last good night kiss on the forehead.

Nuzzling back into his arms with closed eyes, Kim Dokja grumbles and pouts, only leaving him with a simple, “You’ll pay for that later.”

Yoo Joonghyuk looks forward to it.
