YUTA
Yuta woke up with a groan, trying to ignore the nauseous feeling in his stomach. He stretched slowly, feeling the tension in each one of his muscles, making it seem like he hadn’t moved in ages.
He slowly opened his eyes to find out he was on his own in the hotel room. Yuta focused, trying to listen if there was someone in the bathroom, but it appeared he was left on his own. Good. Yuta didn’t feel like pretending to be asleep until his last night fling leaves his space.
He liked to wake up alone to deal with the hangover, he didn’t need strangers in his room the next morning, after the eventful night.
Yuta reached to the side table to get his phone, picking a piece of paper he spotted on top of it first. There was a row of numbers with a name on it, asking for a call. The note ended with a winky face and a name — it had to be his one-night stand from the previous night. Yuta snorted, putting the note hastily back and picking his phone instead, not bothering when the note fell down on the floor. The cleaning staff will deal with it later. Yuta thought, when unlocking his phone, his eyebrows raised as he saw a row of notifications from not only his band members but also their manager.
Yuta rolled his eyes, wanting to ignore Doyoung for 5 more minutes to take a nap instead, but sadly the plan was interrupted as he started calling him again. He picked the call, since he was already awake, better get over with whatever Doyoung wanted from him.
“You fucking idiot.” Doyoung hissed at him from the other side, without greeting. What the hell did Yuta do this time?
“Hello to you too.” Yuta groaned, squinting. Doyoung was way too loud for his hammering headache to deal with.
“Yuta, you have to come back now.” Doyoung ordered without explanation.
“But the festival ends tomorrow.”
“Well, your band played two nights ago, you’re not needed there anymore.”
“The line of people after me every time I enter a bar says otherwise,” Yuta answered cockily, grinning to himself. He could hear Doyoung’s annoyed exhale, which made Yuta even happier. Nothing better than to get on his nerves first thing in the morning.
“Yeah, well, your fucking around finally decided to kick your ass. Congrats on getting a boyfriend, by the way.” Doyoung said ominously, and that made Yuta sit up, heart picking up speed as the last sentence slowly reached his brain. He felt dizzy, and Yuta was pretty sure his hangover state wasn’t the only reason for it.
“What?”
“Get. Back. To. The. Company. Now.” Doyoung uttered and ended the call. Yuta stared blankly at his phone. What the fuck was that? He thought, and it only took a look at the group chat to figure it out.
“Shit. Shit. Shit.” He repeated as he opened the article, one of the guys sent him. “Fuck.”
BREAKING!
Bring The Noize’s vocalist Nakamoto Yuta (28), spotted late at night leaving a bar with vocalist of band King Of Hearts Ten Lee (27). Both men met at the bar after their performances at the nearby festival, said sources. The two seemed to be very close, dancing and drinking together. Witnesses said they saw the two of them making out and being unable to keep their hands off each other.
Later that night, they were spotted at Nakamoto’s hotel, possibly going to his room. Their companies have yet to either confirm or deny whether these two are dating or not.

[+486, -227] Oh c’mon now Yuta fucks around, he literally has someone new with him every two days, it’s all over the internet. Get it together.
[+267, -168] Ten doesn’t seem like a person who is made for one-night stands, so maybe they actually date?
[+96, -489] whoever thinks Ten and Yuta would not sleep together after seeing each other, PLEASE. These two are hot as fuck. And besides, they can do whatever they want.
[+369, -290] I need Ten’s fans to grow up and stop acting like sleeping with someone and then never seeing them again is a crime. Sex is fun. Let them have it. And yeah, honestly, I don’t think Yuta is made for relationships.
Yuta threw his phone away, not bothering when it fell onto the floor with a loud sound. He fell onto the pillows, cursing under his breath. He knew he had no choice but to get to company if he didn't want Doyoung to kill him, but for now he decided to agonise about the headache, now also due to the dating rumour. So he lied down there until Taeil called him and begged him to come back, because Doyoung is about to lose it completely.
Yuta slowly gathered his things, not rushing to get there to meet his doom.
To put it simply, Yuta was completely screwed.
//////
TEN
Yuta was late.
Ten watched a man named Doyoung as he tried to call him over and over again, visibly angry. Taeyong — Ten’s manager — sat by his side this whole time, silently watching. Possibly judging the lack of hold Doyoung had on the band members as their manager.
Well, Ten and his members weren’t saints either, but Taeyong and Kun made quite the powerful and terrifying duo when angry, so no one really dared to go too far. Teasing the two of them was fun, but it was better not to cross a line.
Like Ten did this weekend, for example, it appeared.
Ten wasn’t one to fuck around often, and when he did, he always managed to be more discreet about it, thus far no one found out. Up until he met Yuta, and all his effort went down the drain.
Now he sat in the office of a company he stepped in for the first time in his life, with a dating rumour. The said rumour with Nakamoto Yuta himself.
They were in the same circles, he knew what Yuta was like. What was supposed to be a fun night turned into a scandal. That’s just Ten’s luck to pick the wrong people when he does decide to have fun. But he also could blame it all on Yangyang and Hendery for allowing him to break loose that night. Not that he would mention it. Ten had a feeling that his manager, nor Kun, would fall for that excuse.
Ten inhaled deeply, fidgeting with his fingers, and felt Taeyong’s hand on his leg, trying to stop him from shaking it. When their eyes met, Taeyong sent him a reassuring smile, trying to calm him down. Ten had to admit that for the first time since they met it didn’t really work. He just wanted to get it all over with, but they still had to wait for the one remaining person. If he would just so kindly show up , Ten thought bitterly.
When Yuta finally entered the meeting room, he looked like a mess. His hair was unkept, sunglasses were balanced on his nose even though they were in an office (Ten had a feeling it was due to the hangover). Yuta had a leather jacket with which Ten was sure he saw him performing in a few days ago.
Yuta groaned his greeting as he went to the side where Doyoung was sitting and waited for him with a raised eyebrow, shooting daggers with his gaze. Yuta didn’t really seem bothered. Doyoung ordered him to take the sunglasses off and be more polite. Yuta huffed something under his nose that Ten figured out were curse words. But he still took off his accessory, showing it on the table.
From the messy hair and still visibly smushed eyeliner in the corner of the eye, Ten saw he looked pale and tired. Definitely hungover.
Yuta didn’t greet him, just flopped on the chair with a groan and leaned his head on the table, covering himself with his arms. Ten couldn’t help but to scoff, moving his gaze from the man, missing the moment when Yuta finally looked his way.
//////
YUTA
Ten raised his eyebrow, clearly judging him. Pretentious asshole, Yuta thought as he watched Ten carefully.
Ten was handsome, Yuta had no doubt about it. He was very pretty when Yuta was drunk, now looking more casual he still appeared almost perfect. Ten looked cold, ice-prince like. But he remembered how he looked like laughing, too.
Yuta’s gaze moved to Ten’s lips pressed in a thin line. He had pretty lips, Yuta thought. It reminded him what they were used for last night—
“Yuta!” Doyoung interrupted his thoughts, annoyance in his voice, as it was obvious Yuta didn’t listen to a word that was said.
“Sorry. I’m listening.” Yuta mumbled, straightening in his chair, refusing to look Ten’s way anymore.
Doyoung nodded, clearing his throat before continuing, “As I was saying. The tabloids are bombarding both agencies with questions, for now we aren’t confirming nor denying anything. The HQ had an idea.”
“For fuck’s sake.”
“Shut up, Yuta.” Doyoung snarled at him, then went back to talking in a way more gentle voice. Yuta wanted to laugh. Doyoung would make a great actor.
“The HQ wants us to confirm that the two of you are a thing. Ten’s agency agrees.”
“What?”
“That’s ridiculous.” Yuta and Ten both snapped, surprised, they exchanged eye contact before staring at their respective managers. From the corner of his eyes, Yuta spotted Ten’s manager — Yuta didn’t catch his name — talking to him, trying to calm him down, probably. Doyoung avoided Yuta’s gaze, no matter how hard he tried to make him look his way.
“What the hell Doyoung? You said no, right?”
“Listen-” Doyoung started, and Yuta groaned, irritated, leaning back in his seat. Fucking great.
“Bring The Noize has a bad reputation. Due to some circumstances, the sales keep on dropping, and your behaviour surely isn’t helping.” Doyoung hissed the last part, finally looking at Yuta.
“As for Kings of Hearts. Your group is still fairly new. While you all are amazing, the extra attention won’t hurt.” Doyoung added, and the man next to Ten nodded,
“You guys don’t have to see each other that often. Just a few public appearances, some hand holding in public. Some sns mentions and posting each other’s pictures…”
“Yuta can’t keep it in his pants, so it’s a matter of time before him making out with someone will show up somewhere. Cheating too could be a reason to finally break up because Yuta continuously is an asshole.” Someone — probably from HR, added when Doyoung paused to speak. Yuta had to bite his tongue, irritation growing inside him. Doyoung looked uncomfortable but didn’t say anything.
“So it’s like, a month, or two?” He heard Ten speaking, Yuta gazed his way. Ten sounded and looked way more composed than Yuta felt, somehow he felt even more annoyed, like he was about to explode. So he tried to focus on Ten, hoping this would help his anger to die down.
“It depends on the HQ. It can be longer since both of you plan to release albums in the next 6 months.” Doyoung answered honestly. While his voice still was serious, he sounded less bossy than when he was speaking with Yuta. Well. Maybe that was deserved.
“The breakup could happen before albums are released or after, since the concerts are coming up too. Lack of time for each other also could work as a reason for a breakup.” Doyoung pointed out.
Yuta sighed. At least that would not bring the rage from Ten’s fans towards Yuta, and yet another disappointment from his fans towards him.

Yuta and Ten ended up in a café, and Yuta never felt more out of place than he did there.
Despite being dressed in a grey hoodie and jeans, most of his accessories hidden under the clothing and his hair, he still felt awkward. Possibly because cafés weren’t really his thing, definitely not a place where he would spend more time than necessary.
They had another meeting with lawyers and several other people allowed onto the secret, each had to sign a contract agreeing to the terms, and nda. Yuta didn’t pay attention to the explanations, he just knew if they let it spill there would be big money to pay, so everyone should keep quiet.
It was an annoying 2 hours and Yuta didn’t understand the reason for his presence, but they were done. All that was left was him and Ten setting some rules and boundaries for each other, so that's how they ended up at that place, which was Ten’s pick.
This place is my favourite, and it’s quiet. Ten assured, and sure there weren't many people around. The staff too only gave him one glance after he greeted them which is why Yuta was sure they didn’t recognize them. They ordered their coffees, Yuta asked for extra espresso in his, as running only on 2 hours of sleep had him swearing he still felt alcohol buzzing in his veins.
They sat in silence, both scrolling on their phones on opposite sides of the table. Yuta smiled at whatever his members said regarding this whole situation.
Johnny:
I can’t believe Yuta is about to settle down.
Taeil:
I’m proud of you
Me:
Guys….
Jaehyun:
Be nice to your boyfriend, okay?
Me:
He isn't my boyfriend.
Jungwoo:
You think we could organize a double date?
Jaehyun:
We should go to the haunted house!
Jungwoo:
Absolutely not.
Johnny:
Take me with you 🥺
Yuta:
No double dates.
No dates at all.
Jungwoo:
You are no fun
Johnny:
Booo….
Jaehyun and Jungwooo take me with you to the haunted house! 🥺
Yuta quickly put his phone away, when the drinks came — inhaling the smell of freshly made coffee, his brain suddenly coming back to life. He observed as Ten thanked the waiter for his order that also included cake. Yuta turned his gaze away when Ten started to eat it, but when he glanced his way seconds later, Ten was looking at him with a question in his eyes.
Yuta only shook his head, not really having anything to say at the moment. He only wished for it to be done, so he could go back home and sleep. They had a recording tomorrow at 7 am. He really hoped to sleep off the exhaustion and hangover today. He glanced at the time, it was nearing 4 pm . Well, there was still a chance for rest.
“So, what’s the plan?” Ten finally asked, raising his gaze. Yuta observed how yet another cherry landed on the side of the plate untouched, before he cleared his throat to speak.
“I guess we need to make a good public appearance? Hand holding, kissing in public, I don’t know.” Yuta shrugged indifferently, and watched as Ten’s cheeks shaded red. Clearly shy about something. Yuta raised his eyebrow in question.
“Yeah, I’m not good with PDA.” Ten admitted.
“We made out at the bar. We almost fucked in the said bar, you gave me head in a bathroom in the same bar, Ten.”
“I was drunk!” Ten said in an angry whisper, looking around, embarrassed that someone might hear.
“So?” Yuta asked flatly, and watched how Ten’s cheeks got redder, shaded in anger or embarrassment — maybe both. Yuta couldn’t tell, but he had to admit he liked to see him frustrated.
“Fine,” Yuta breathed, raising his hands. In an attempt to compromise, he offered, “No kissing, but we have to hold hands, and we have to look like we have fun together.”
“I know, it’s gonna be fine. Don’t worry.” Ten reassured, putting another piece of fruit away, Yuta finally couldn’t control the curiosity
“You don’t like cherries?”
“I don’t like fruits, at all.”
“Huh?” Yuta asked, but Ten only smiled, shrugging lightly, clearly amused at Yuta’s surprised expression,
“I don’t eat fruits.”
“You’re weird.” Yuta snorted and leaned forward to snatch the cherry off the plate and pop it in his mouth. Ten shot him an unamused glance but remained quiet, eating his cake.
Yuta only shook his head, unable to hold a laugh.
He watched Ten for a few seconds. He had to admit, once again, that Ten was handsome. However, he wasn’t someone Yuta imagined himself to be in a relationship with, not that Yuta was dreaming of relationships often, or ever. Being with someone for long wasn't something he found too pleasing, or like something he could do.
Not that he never tried. It never worked, so with time he decided he would not be in a relationship. There was no need for it.
Another discovery that Yuta made in the recent time they spent together — Ten appeared to be a complete opposite of him. While surely he liked to have fun and party, he was different. Where Yuta sometimes felt like ocean waves during hurricanes, dangerous and unpredictable, Ten was more like a morning breeze by the beach. A little cold at first, something that one may think was easy to read, but perhaps still full of surprises.
Jaehyun’s voice ringed in his head when he reprimanded him to stop judging books by their covers, and perhaps he had a point. One thing for sure, Yuta had to say, Ten wasn’t boring. He was drunk, but he remembers having time with him. Ten was interesting, for sure. And if he remembered correctly, they had fun in bed that night. So maybe not all would be bad, and they can survive the next few months acting like the couple they were supposed to be from now on.
//////
“What about the breakup?” Ten asked finally.
It was later in the day, both of them waiting for their managers to get there to drive them home. Yuta believed they both had to be curious how everything went. The sun was slowly setting, giving their surroundings a golden glow. It was pretty, and it almost had a calming effect on Yuta, he had to admit. He looked at Ten, taking a deep breath.
“It’s just a few months, as they said. What else?” Yuta asked, not understanding, Ten looked uneasy by his side.
“Yeah, but. How do we do that? The break-up?”
“Oh,” Yuta was surprised, and then scoffed remembering today’s meeting
“To quote one of the staff members from today, he can’t keep it in his pants! So don’t worry, I’m sure it’s just a matter of time before someone sees me where I shouldn’t be,” Yuta smirked, winking at Ten, but the latter sent him a stone-cold gaze that Yuta couldn’t read.
“And that’s supposed to make me feel better?” Ten scoffed,
“What? Is being disloyal not enough reason for you to break up the fake relationship?” Yuta snorted, Ten was quietly staring into him. Yuta felt like he was looking right in his soul, his eyes focused, the expression unreadable. Yuta honestly hated it.
“What?” Yuta raised his eyebrow. Ten watched him for a few seconds before moving his gaze somewhere else. Yuta huffed at the act, shaking his head — whatever Ten was thinking it never left his head, leaving Yuta wondering.

TEN
When Ten closed the doors to his apartment, he was greeted by loud meows before the two cats appeared in the hallway. He smiled and leaned down to greet the cats, finally feeling some positive emotions entering his body. The last 24 hours have been stressful to say the least. And it was just because Ten wanted to have some fun , and decided to listen to Hendery and Yangyang when they said he should get laid . Never again.
He sighed, and turned on all the lights on his way, entering the kitchen to feed his cats — both Louis and Leon kept running in between his legs, clearly demanding dinner. Ten couldn’t help but coo at them.
He quickly filled their bowls and once they were busy eating he turned towards the living room, putting some music on, acoustic guitar filled the silence, and a faint smile showed on his face. Yes, this was definitely what he needed to help his mind relax. He sat down on the couch, leaning against the backrest with a loud groan. Finally exhaling, trying to push out all the tension weighting him. Soon he heard a meowing on his side, followed by a cat sitting on his lap. Ten opened his eyes smiling, and his hands immediately went to pet Leon, who was now purring contently.
“Your father is an idiot, you know?” Ten asked, not getting anything in response.
“But I think I just met an even bigger idiot, and now we have to deal with each other’s presence for gods know how long.” Ten continued rambling, not even bothered by the lack of answers. He just needed to say things out loud, and speaking to his cats was comforting enough. He knew he would have a chat with Kun and the rest of the members soon enough, and they would talk it all out. For now, he just needed to let out things off his chest. Without any judgments and opinions.
“It’s gonna be fine. His stupid attitude can be annoying, but it’s fine, I guess.” Ten said snorting for no particular reason other than realising how ridiculous that situation is. He put Leon’s face in his palms and started massaging his head, leaning closer to him and making a face at the cat. “And it’s all because I wanted to get laid,” he mumbled and pressed a kiss on the cat’s head before releasing him from his hold. Leon jumped off his lap, clearly displeased, and done with the affection. Ten huffed a laugh, and leaned back again, his eyes closed, only listening to the melody the guitar was making.
He had no idea how it all would work, but he’ll do anything for his band and career.

YUTA
“I don’t understand why him, out of all people.” Johnny prompted, looking around his friends
“Well, his band is good, and they are quite good boys type. Publicly, Ten seems to have a pretty clean and innocent-ish boy image. And Yuta likes cute boys,” Jungwoo shrugged, sipping on his beer.
“How innocent is innocent, tho?” Johnny asked after some time. Yuta raised his eyebrow, Jaehyun next to him snorted.
“He is in a relationship, Johnny.” Jaehyun reminded him, but he only shrugged, glancing at Yuta as it was nothing.
“So? It’s a fake relationship, Jaehyun. And what? Yuta will have fun with other people, I know he will. So can’t Ten too? He is pretty, he deserves good things,” Johnny wiggled his eyebrows grinning devilishly,
“You’re unbelievable,” Taeil sighed from the corner, “Please don’t do anything stupid to worsen our already crumbling image?” Taeil pleaded, looking right at Johnny, but somehow Yuta felt this was addressed to him too.
“Yes Boss.” Johnny chirped, making a salute gesture. Jungwoo and Jaehyun laughed, Yuta shook his head, fed up with the ongoing conversation as if he wasn’t right there.
”Maybe don’t go flirting with my fake boyfriend before even the statement regarding that rumour is out.” Yuta whispered loudly enough, sipping on his drink.
“No worries, I have a brain.” Johnny remarked, but before Yuta was able to say anything, Jungwoo interrupted him.
“Use it sometimes.” Jungwoo said under his breath. They all laughed, even more so when Johnny loudly opposed the insult.
“No but,” Johnny looked at Yuta again, great. “Are you attracted to him or something?” Johnny made everyone look his way, clearly curious about the answer, making Yuta roll his eyes.
“No. He is hot, the sex was fun, but no.” Before Johnny could say anything more, Taeil took the opportunity to speak again.
“And I’m serious, Johnny. Leave Ten alone. At least for the time being, unless you want to be accused of breaking a relationship between your own bandmate and his boyfriend.” Taeil said as a warning.
“Who do you take me for,” Johnny murmured and Yuta rolled his eyes, moving forward to pat his arm comfortingly,
“We love you, but both you and I tend to do stupid things.” Yuta chuckled as everyone else laughed and agreed, leaving Johnny no choice but to agree.
From there, their conversation went to some more mundane topics and album preparations talk, followed by preparing for their last festival performances to finish the summer. Yuta tried to fight the uneasy feeling he had after his friends accused him of being disloyal. Although, part of him knew it was true. Yuta and relationships never worked.

[ +234, -89 ] They really dissed Yuta’s track record 💀
[+468, -34] Well, Yuta is certainly handsome, so I can see why Ten likes him. I hope the dude won’t hurt him though. There must be some good under all that.
[+678, -90] I really hope Yuta will settle, imagine the stress we as fans have? I promise he’s sweet, give him a chance.
[+790, -89] The last time I heard Ten was dating was in the first year of his band's existence. And nothing ever since, I know he keeps saying he is not interested in dating, but I hope he will settle, relationships are fun, he deserves to lean on someone :(
[+145, -789] don’t you all think that the dating rumour is a bit weird? Only me feels like they only wanted to hook up and leave at that? xD
🎸🎸🎸
The festival season was always fun. But the summer was almost ending, therefore Yuta wanted to give his all to the last performances they had planned.
Yuta loved performing, he loved being in front of the mic, he loved hearing people scream their names. It was like getting high without the actual drug — it was liberating.
Here he was himself, here no one would judge him. All eyes were on them. On him. And Yuta at some point couldn't pretend to not notice extra stares not only from the fans, but from whoever was the guy performing before him.
He had seen him before, they met a few times at festivals, and he is almost sure they had drinks together at some point too, but Yuta was never good with faces. Not when he didn’t feel the need to remember someone.
Yuta saw his gaze — it was dark, hungry, he was watching Yuta like a hawk. And Yuta was enjoying the attention, knowing, fully well, where this would all go. On stage was where he was most confident, he felt good, he knew he looked good.
King of Hearts was performing in a different city tonight, therefore, there was no one in his range to stop him from having fun.
The dude was easy on the eye, funny — once Yuta had enough alcohol in his system— and once Johnny and Jaehyun let him do whatever he wanted. Yuta dragged the man away from the crowds, finding a bathroom with a lock from the inside, he smirked as he pushed himself against the other’s body, the man gasping into the kiss.
“Don’t you have a boyfriend?” The guy asked. Ten appeared in his mind for a second. A fake boyfriend. He wanted to add. And then one more thought appeared. He can’t keep it in his pants, it’s a matter of time before he hooks up with someone. It’s how Yuta worked, wasn’t it? That was expected from him by literally everyone.
“He won’t mind,” Yuta assured. It wasn’t a lie. They were faking it. Ten himself said he didn’t care. The guy smiled, leaning for the kiss, letting them inside the room. Yuta could hear the doors behind him locking.

@autumlush: So we're really buying the dating thing?
@tennyang: As someone who likes both bands, I can see Yuta falling for Ten, but I can’t see Ten falling for Yuta like?? Especially the current Yuta.
@randevouse: as much as I love Yuta he’s been an asshole ever since Mark. Like he really closed himself off. But at the end of the day, is Ten who knows him personally, so maybe there is something we can’t see?
@bluerose: Yuta is an idiot. He should stay away from Ten. He should just leave the band, Yuta is what brings them down.

YUTA
It’s been 15 days since the dating gossip spread and 11 since the dating was “confirmed” by the companies and him and Ten as well. Which meant they now had to use their time and spend some days together.
That’s how Yuta ended up at 7pm in a recording studio where Ten and his band were working on their album. He tried hard to ignore the daggers in the form of stares he was receiving as he waited for Ten to be done, wondering if it would be okay to stay outside and wait. But he quickly decided against the idea, since he could be recognized and some uncomfortable questions could follow. So Yuta waited. The longest 20 minutes of his life passed, before Ten was finally ready to go. Yuta tried to hide how happy he was for being able to finally leave that hostile place, hoping he would never go there again.
What was supposed to be a public, attention worthy outing, turned into simple sitting in a bar, thanks to Yuta’s lack of better ideas as to where he could take Ten out. So a bar it was.
Ten was sitting on his side sipping on his drink, eyes lazily scanning the dance floor. Yuta was just looking everywhere, trying to drink away the empty feeling in his chest. It’s been a few days since the last concert, and he has yet to sleep properly. Not like it was something he could do anyway. Not with his brain right now.
“Yuta?”
“Huh?” Yuta snapped his head back to Ten, realizing he was talking to him. Yuta obviously didn’t hear a word that was said.
Ten rolled his eyes at him, but didn’t really look angry as he said, “I was saying that I’m sorry. About this whole situation.”
“What do you mean?”
“Back then, you wanted to have sex in the bathroom instead of the hotel. We would not be in this situation if I only agreed to it. It’s not like anyone would pay attention to that.”
“It’s really nothing—”
“I just feel bad.”
“So next time I ask about bathroom sex, you would say yes?” Yuta smirked, not really feeling like the apology was necessary. He really didn’t want to have this conversation right now, so he decided to try to lead the subject somewhere else.
“Now you’re being gross.”
“Well, I’m good at it. The sex, I mean.”
“So you said. It’s pretty disgusting, though.”
“Yeah, but-“ Yuta leaned in smirking, Ten’s eyes moved to his lips, “it may be a quick one, but I can make it unforgettable.”
“Are you really complimenting your ability to finish quickly? You think that’s a good thing?”
“Quick or not, I’m still as good. Want to find out? I can still make it unforgettable.”
“Imagine how many people hooked up in these? All the germs and god know what else on literally every part of the surface? Gross, no.”
“And yet that night—”
“Yuta, no.” Ten’s voice stern and Yuta just laughed, giving it to him.
“So, no sex tonight?”
“Not right now,” Ten smirked as he squeezed Yuta’s thigh. It took him by surprise — Yuta was sure it was obvious judging by Ten’s amused expression.
“Right now, I’m gonna go dance,” Ten sang and hurried towards the dance floor. Yuta watched him for a second before Ten disappeared in the crowd. He sighed, not sure what to think. He then sipped on his drink, the place where Ten’s hand was placed only seconds ago, still burning.
“You know, I’m pretty sure sex was never part of the fake dating contract.” Ten stated as they were walking towards the parking lot. It was a short walk from the bar to where Doyoung and Taeyong were supposed to wait for them, the deal being that they would drive them back to their respective apartments.
“So what?” Yuta smiled, raising his eyebrow, “we can still do it.” He suggestively wiggled his eyebrows, and Ten snorted in response.
“Was I that good that you need more?” Ten asked cockily. Yuta knew he was mocking him from earlier, but he was not about to lose a fight.
“And what if you were?” There had to be more honesty in his voice in his words than he thought because Ten stopped in his movement. Looking at him, mouth opened and closed, but he didn’t say anything. Yuta started to feel as if he said something wrong.
“I mean, if you don’t want to, then it’s fine. I’m not gonna force you.”
“No, no. It’s not that. I-. Never mind.” Ten finally snapped out of whatever he was thinking, “Yeah. It was fun. We should do it again.” Ten added, but Yuta could see him blushing. A win.
“Are you sure?”
“Yes, I like sex. It’s fun. We can have sex again sometime.” Ten agreed, clearly wanting to say more, but his phone buzzing took away the chance. He picked up, and by the tone Yuta realized he was talking to his manager. Ten looked around finally finding what he was searching for.
“Yeah, I will be there in 5.” Ten said as goodbye and hung up.
“My manager is waiting, so I should go.”
“Right.”
“You know when Doyoung will be here? I can wait with you.”
“Soon probably. I will find him, don’t worry. You should go.”
“Okay. Bye then, see you whenever.” Ten said, backing away slowly, his eyes on Yuta who gave him a nod.
“See you.” Yuta said, and then Ten turned around, walking towards the van. Yuta looked at him for a few more seconds before going his own way, phone in his hands, as he was calling Doyoung to ask where he was.

“You can’t even get drunk with these.” Yuta complained, pouting slightly.
“Do you not know how to function sober?”
“It’s no fun,” Yuta shrugged.
Ten rolled his eyes at him before focusing back on the menu, scanning it for something to eat. Yuta tried to find something too, but nothing really fit his taste. He felt out of place, and he had a feeling so did Ten, he was just better at hiding it.
Neither of them would find themselves in a fancy restaurant by their own choice if it wasn’t for Doyoung giving the HR’s orders to him. He said that they should have a date in some expensive restaurant, and that no wasn’t an option. At least Doyoung gave him the company card, so he couldn’t complain too much.
“Honestly,” Ten started, making Yuta drop the dreadful thoughts, “I feel uncomfortable here.” Ten admitted hesitantly, looking around, afraid that people would hear. So Yuta decided they should leave. Yuta expected Ten to fight, but he agreed to the idea rather quickly, shutting the menu and putting it away.
Yuta watched from the side as Ten assured the waiter that everything was fine with the place, and something urgent came up that made them decide to leave. Just a small white lie, Yuta had to be careful not to laugh at.
Once Yuta paid for the wine they ordered minutes prior, they left the restaurant, walking aimlessly. Their managers were going to pick them up in about two hours, there was much time to kill. No one really paid them attention, which Yuta was okay with.
It was nearing 10 pm when the first raindrops hit the ground. Ten and Yuta were in the park walking in comfortable silence, both admitting they were too exhausted for any more meaningful conversation.
They kept walking until it started raining more heavily, forcing them to hide under a large tree. They were semi safe there, watching raindrops hitting the sidewalk, nothing but the sound of the rain was heard around them.
Yuta didn’t realise Ten stepped forward before he basically showed up in front of his eyes. Standing there under the rain.
“Are you insane or something?” Yuta asked.
“You should try it. It’s calming.” Ten defended his choice.
“And catch pneumonia? No, thanks.”
“Suit yourself.” It was Ten’s only answer before he closed his eyes and faced the rain. Yuta watched Ten breathing deeply and rolled his eyes. Before fully realising what he was doing, Yuta moved towards Ten. He faced him, his face only a few centimetres away.
“And now what?” Yuta said, his voice low. Ten smiled before opening his eyes, gazing at Yuta.
“Now close your eyes, and stop thinking; start feeling.” Ten said, and Yuta huffed but closed his eyes nevertheless, trying to ignore his clothes getting more and more drenched. He tried to shut his brain off, the key word being tried.
His mind was like a vacuum, absorbing everything that was around him, and playing all the memories and reasons for his stressed state currently, like a movie. So he opened his eyes back, looking at Ten’s face instead. He had a small smile, and droplets were running down his face which didn’t seem to bother him at all. Ten seemed relaxed. Yuta wished he could do that too, but his brain didn’t really cooperate.
The more Yuta looked, the more he realised he hadn’t really seen Ten relaxed. The first night they met, they were both drunk and happy to get laid. The second time they met, Yuta was angry and Ten was nervous, he didn’t really see him relaxed around Yuta. Even when he watched him with his members, Ten seemed guarded — probably because Yuta was there, he guessed. Yuta started to wonder if the constant stress Ten appears to be in is only Yuta’s fault.
Ten had to feel Yuta’s gaze on him, because he smiled bigger, and when he opened his eyes, they landed on Yuta, curiosity written in his gaze.
“It was stupid.” Yuta shrugged, making Ten huff a laugh,
“Mhm.” He muttered, as if seeing right through him at that moment.
Ten finally decided he didn't want to get sick, so he returned to their safe space, and once the rain calmed down, they rushed to a 24-hour café they passed by minutes earlier to warm up. It was where they waited for their managers, who showed up together. Ten and Yuta as always said their goodbyes, hugging, in case someone was watching.

“Stupid gossip sites, you don’t know shit about me.” Yuta cursed under his breath, scrolling through internet pages.
He didn’t plan on reading any articles that involved only him or his dating thing, but somehow he still ended up on sites that decided they knew Yuta the best. Just a bunch of shitty articles where they decided that Yuta is the worst, and he needed to be critiqued for his ‘wrongdoings’. The comment section was ready to tear him apart, but again nothing was new.
“You don’t know me, so shut up.” He whispered, but he was aware as to why people thought of him as a black sheep. Yuta was rarely sober, he talked back, slept around, he seemed careless and without any feelings. To many people, Yuta appeared as someone who didn’t give a shit about anyone.
Yuta knew he wasn’t a saint. But he also wasn’t about to stop. Acting that way was easier, having people think of him as a bad person just so they stay away, was better. Because the last thing Yuta wanted was to get attached to the wrong person again. Because then people leave, and he is left with nothing, lying on the ground, falling apart, without anyone to put the pieces back together. Reason for it being, often the person he gave his heart to, decided to break it.
Yuta closed his laptop, pushing it to the side, hoping his brain would shut up too. He didn’t want to think or feel like that anymore.
He got up and reached his kitchen, grabbing another bottle of beer, all in hopes of his feelings being washed away with it. It was not something Yuta wanted to deal with. Not now, nor ever.

TEN
“How is it going?” Kun asked as he carefully placed a coffee cup next to Ten. Ten gratefully took it, giving himself a few more seconds before he spoke, letting himself decide whether to lie or not.
“All peachy, I almost finished writing lyrics to our song.” Ten grinned, hoping that this was the only thing that Kun meant.
They were in the studio, both him and Kun preferred to do their work there than at home where too many distractions waited for them. At least for Ten. Kun was way better at focusing and getting into a work mode for hours. The fact it was almost 11 pm was proof. It also told Ten that Kun was there only because of him, and not for work reasons.
Ten looked through his notes, feeling Kun’s gaze on him — almost a noise that cut through the silence between them. He finally acknowledged him, still without looking up.
“Say it finally.” Ten whispered, feeling like he was about to be scolded or something.
“I’m sorry.”
“Huh?” This made Ten look up surprised, “What for?”
“I should’ve figured something else, or fight the HQ and not put you in the whole fake dating situation.”
“Stop. If anything, I did this to myself.”
“But I’m the leader—”
“Only on paper.” Ten tried to joke so he could take the conversation somewhere else, literally anywhere that is not the him and Yuta topic. Of course, both of them knew Kun was the leader, and he was doing a great job, but it usually worked to get Kun to focus on something else, rather than whatever he was talking about. Usually.
“Yeah, but Yuta is—”
“Oh my god. Stop worrying okay? I’m a big boy, I can handle Yuta.” Ten assured, but Kun remained sceptical,
“I just don’t want you to get hurt.” The genuine worry in Kun’s voice on a normal day would make Ten tease the hell out of him, but the situation Kun was referring to was anything but normal.
“Stop. Yes, Yuta is attractive. Yes, he can be fun to be around. But he’s also definitely not my type. If you think I’d catch feelings — I won’t. So stop worrying. He can be an arrogant idiot, but he’s not a bad person either. Still. I’m not catching feelings for him.”
“Okay, alright.” Kun sighed, getting up. “Just— if something happens, anything. Talk to me, alright?”
“Yessir!” Ten saluted, grinning his way. Kun pushed him playfully, but the smile on his face looked real, like he was relieved. Ten thought he did a good enough job in reassuring him. He was about to return to the notebook, when something popped in his mind.
“By the way,” He turned to Kun again, “Please, next time you see Yuta, be nicer to him. All of you.”
“Okay. I know the hostility was unnecessary, okay? We are just worried.”
“I’m a grown up.” Ten reminded him.
“I know. I’m sorry. I will talk to the guys.”
“Thank you.”
After promising Kun that Ten won’t be in the studio for too long, and will soon go home to sleep, they parted ways. Ten was left alone in an empty studio room, feeling an odd heaviness in his chest. He sighed as he reached for his phone. Without even thinking much, he opened the messaging app. Not even knowing what he expected.
Me:
Hi, are you busy?
Ten waited a few minutes but no text came back. So Ten turned his phone off and got back to work, trying to distract his brain with something that wasn’t Yuta.

YUTA
Ten:
Hi, are you busy?
Yuta read the notification wondering what’s up, he considered texting back, when a pair of hands reached from behind him, clearly wanting attention back.
“Something important?” The man asked, leaning in, and Yuta quickly shut his phone off before facing the stranger again. He shook his head, and when the man kissed him, his mind quickly wandered away from Ten.
The rest of the night he tried to focus on the man in his bed instead. It was his way to forget the reality, and for Yuta it was all that mattered.

“Doyoung said we should come up with pet names to call each other publicly.”
“Doyoung? You talk to my manager?”
“Not me. Taeyong does, he just passed the idea to me.”
“Pet names… like what? Kitten?”
Ten rolled his eyes, but didn’t deny it, which had Yuta smirking.
“You like that one?” Yuta asked, and watched Ten’s face reddening slightly. Amusing.
“Shut up. No. I think he meant more basic ones. Baby? Something like that.” Ten said, taking a sip of his coffee.
Yet again, they found themselves in the café they went to after the first meeting with the staff. Yuta watched Ten as he was drinking the beverage and suddenly there was a spark in Ten’s eyes. He put the cup away from his mouth and he smirked cheekily.
“Besides, you were the one scratching that night, I had marks all over my back, kitten .” Ten winked, and Yuta choked on his coffee. That bastard.
“You—” Yuta’s throat was still burning as he tried to speak, Ten giggled.
“Are you okay?” Ten was still laughing, clearly entertained, but his eyes spoke worry.
“Yeah.” Yuta nodded, finally taking the water Ten offered.
“Where would we use them? Wouldn’t it sound stupid to call each other that on socials? And we aren’t really together in public spaces like interviews and stuff.”
“Yeah, me and Tae had similar thoughts, but I guess we could make sure to say it next time we are in public, where people could potentially hear.” Ten shrugged, “We can sometimes comment under posts with that.”
“Okay, I will think of something, cupcake .” Yuta giggled, and Ten looked completely unamused, his gaze was almost icy. But Ten was still blushing. Yuta decided it was worth it, seeing this reaction.
🎸🎸🎸
TEN
“And we are here.” Yuta announced as he opened the door, allowing Ten to go in first and putting his arm around his waist, as they both entered the studio. It felt comforting. However, there was no time for thinking about the gesture or reaction to it, as he was swarmed by people. Yuta’s band members to be clear.
He already knew Jaehyun and Taeil who he greeted them politely. Next, he hugged Jaehyun when he spread his arms. Ten felt very welcomed there. It felt nice to be somewhere where people wanted to know him. Ten allowed himself to relax a bit as he embraced Jaehyun back. Jungwoo also seemed enthusiastic to meet him. Ten — based on rumours that were travelling around — could become Jungwoo’s friend. Or they could at least be friendly with each other.
Johnny gave him a bit more bone crushing hug, his enthusiasm was rubbing off on Ten, making the slight awkwardness in the air disappear completely. The whole time however he tried to stay near Yuta. Maybe he was just a bit shy to meet so many people all at once, and a bit scared.
He knew why his own members were so hostile towards Yuta. Part of Ten was just worried here could be the same, but they were nothing but friendly. Which was what perhaps freaked Ten out just a bit. Also, a topic that needed to be discussed with his own members and the way they treated Yuta the first time.
“Is Johnny always so flirty?” Ten asked, swaying gently in his chair, Yuta hummed as he looked through lyrics for their newest songs.
“Yeah, he likes to flirt, and make people feel awkward.”
“What do you mean?”
“He stares, no words. He just looks at you until it’s awkward.” Yuta said and looked at him, smiling, before his gaze returned to the sheet of paper in his hands.
They were still in the studio, only the two of them left, as the rest of the band decided to give them privacy. Ten liked them, he hoped it was mutual.
Due to the fact there wasn’t much to do on that day, they decided to remain in the studio. Both Ten and Yuta made sure to post on their Instagram stories pictures of the place, just so it would be obvious they were spending time together there. Yuta had some songs to listen through and share his opinion on. He also worked on lyrics, and Ten was more than okay just to hang out there. Yuta didn’t seem annoyed at Ten’s constant questions so he had the feeling he’s used to that form of distraction.
“He is… interesting.” Ten decided, and Yuta scoffed, looking at him again. He stared at Ten, as if trying to look for something, for what — Ten couldn’t really tell. After what felt like a whole minute, Yuta’s gaze finally dropped, he cleared his throat,
“Do you like him?”
“Hm. He seems okay. Johnny seems like a fun guy to be around.” Ten stated, Yuta exhaled,
“I mean like… are you attracted to him?” Oh.
“No?” Ten was taken aback, Yuta looked unimpressed.
“I mean, he is good-looking, sure, but— nah.” Ten shrugged,
“Okay.”
“Okay.”
“Cool.”
“Yuta,” Ten demanded attention, clearly seeing there was something more Yuta wanted to say, finally Yuta slowly put the pen away and looked at him, with a sigh,
“It’s just… it’s fine if you want to, like, date. Or meet someone for real, you know? It’s just a fake relationship.”
“Oh.”
“I mean, we only can’t be found if we do stuff with other people. But we can still see other people.”
“Okay, yeah, I remember.” Ten stared at him, contemplating whether to ask a certain question. But would there be a better opportunity than now?
“Do you?”
“Do I what?”
“Sleep with other people?” Ten asked. Yuta remained silent, his gaze unreadable. The surrounding air was heavy, and Ten had a feeling he already knew the answer.
“Yeah.” The answer was followed by a shrug, like it was nothing. And Ten knew it was supposed to be nothing, since it was a fake relationship, whatever they did privately was none of the other person's business. Yuta could sleep with whomever he wanted, so could Ten. The weird feeling in his chest definitely shouldn’t be there.

YUTA
“You guys don’t look like you’re dating.”
“Huh?”
“We aren’t.” Yuta pointed out, which resulted in a glare from the HQ person, Doyoung and a look from Ten.
It was 9am and his management called him and Ten for a meeting at Yuta’s company. The reason for it — as Yuta guessed — was ridiculous.
“What do you want us to do, fuck in the middle of the street?” Yuta snarled. He heard some murmurs from the staff around, probably due to the crude language.
“No.” Doyoung opposed, not hiding the irritation, “You guys just should try more PDA. The PG one.”
“But—”
“Ten doesn’t like PDA.” Yuta opposed before Ten managed to, so he only nodded agreeing with what Yuta said. Doyoung looked between the two of them.
“Post more pictures together? Comment on each other's socials, anything. Be seen outside together more. If Ten doesn’t like PDA, it’s fine, there are more ways to show affection than that.” Doyoung begged. Yuta contemplated whether to be snarky about it or just agree and let it go. Based on the fact how tired Doyoung looked, he decided to not be an asshole this time. Besides, the HR people were way more annoying than his manager.
“Okay, we will try.” Ten said flatly, Yuta shoot him a look, but Ten wasn’t looking his way, instead he looked at the staff members with cold gaze,
“But I’d appreciate it if you would let us do things our way. Stop pushing things on us. Like expensive restaurants, for example. Things like that are not believable.” Ten added, and Yuta nodded, unable to speak, knowing well, he was still way too annoyed to match Ten’s neutral tone.
“So what, you think the public would believe you have dates at the bar every weekend?” the staff member said, sounding condescending, rolling eyes at Ten. Ten’s face took on a deep shade of red, showing he got angry, and was ready to fight back, but it was Yuta who was first to speak.
“We go to cafés. Willingly. And walks. Also, because we want to. ” Yuta opposed, trying to hold back from name-calling or saying too much. He didn’t like the arrogant tone the man had, especially aimed at Ten.
“You go to cafés?” Someone else asked, clearly surprised.
“Seriously, do you guys actually check social media? Yes, we go to cafés weekly, there is always at least one person tweeting about meeting us there…” Yuta was annoyed. He and Ten tried their best to meet whatever obstacle the company people gave them. But they didn’t even bother to actually check what their fans were talking about…
“Your fans are buying that?” someone else asked, Yuta clicked his tongue, exhaling, trying to remain as calm as possible.
“My fans know I like cafés, so they aren’t surprised. For Yuta… they probably just think he tries things I enjoy, since you know… we are dating.” Ten said, there was still a hint of irritation in his voice and posture was closed off, but other than that he appeared composed when speaking.
“Well, I still need you two to do more.” The man from earlier said vaguely. Of course, he would not admit defeat in front of them. Yuta thought bitterly.
“Fine. We will think of something. Now… can I go? I have songs for an album to record today.” Ten’s voice sounded challenging, as if letting them try something to stop him from leaving the building. Yuta was almost curious what would happen if they tried. But sadly for his curiosity, they allowed them both to go. Ten said his goodbyes to Doyoung and Yuta, neither of them really bothered to say goodbye to the remaining people who were at the meeting.
“We will drive you,” Yuta said, catching up with him, Doyoung walking close behind.
“It’s alright, Taeyong is waiting downstairs, but thank you.” Ten smiled gratefully, Yuta saw the smile not reaching his eyes. He was probably exhausted after the meeting. Yuta thought. So they said their goodbyes once again, and separated, going their own ways.

Yuta had to admit Thailand was enjoyable, although all he was able to see was whatever Ten wanted to see in Phuket. Yuta was just following his guidance, and enjoying the views, which honestly was more than okay. The second he found out that Ten visits the city yearly, whether with his family, the members of his band or on his own, Yuta decided to trust Ten’s judgement on where to go.
For Yuta, travelling was one of his favourite parts of touring with the band. However, his stay in the countries and cities was never too long, so there was never enough time to see things. Despite the lack of time, Yuta would end in a bar anyway. But during this trip he was actually playing a tourist. And also a boyfriend.
It was a surprisingly pleasant change which Yuta was okay with, if he was being completely honest. However, being boyfriends in front of the public eye was not so simple. The time he spent alone with Ten was nice. Ten never made any issues about anything, he adjusted to Yuta’s quirks rather quickly, and so did Yuta to Ten’s. They somehow made it work.
He grew used to Ten’s presence at that point. Walking with him in public wasn’t that big of a deal. The only issue that remained was that Ten wasn’t a fan of PDA and Yuta wasn’t an asshole trying to force him to do anything. He tried to adjust to Ten and only make a move when allowed. But he also wanted the company to get off his ass and stop annoying him.
Yuta tried to hold his hand in public before Ten took it away, he tried to lean in for a kiss, leaving it to Ten to make the decision. He ended up with a peck on the lips a few times, but Ten usually just moved away from him, blushing. Yuta hoped from the side it all looked playful, if anything. It was fine for the most part, it didn’t seem like many people recognized them anyway.
Yuta just wanted to enjoy his vacation, since he wasn’t sure when the next opportunity like that would happen.
The afternoon sun on the beach was blinding despite them lying under an umbrella, a soft blanket underneath and drinks on their side. Yuta enjoyed how calm everything surrounding him seemed to be.
They were supposed to spend 7 days on the island, sightseeing as much as possible. They quickly agreed, since they were being sent on a paid trip, that they might as well make the best out of it.
Yuta felt watched — as if the people that were passing by knew who he and Ten were. Ten must’ve noticed that too because he slowly moved closer to Yuta who was still laying down on his back. Ten was suddenly on his side, hand under his head for support and Yuta waited, curious to see what Ten was going to do.
When Ten’s free hand started drawing random shapes on his torso, Yuta felt a shiver running through his spine, his breath catching in his throat. When Ten’s finger rubbed against his nipple on accident (although based on the smile, Yuta could swear it was not accidental ), he couldn’t hide the surprised tone.
“Not that I mind, but… what are you doing?” Yuta asked, moving up on his arms.
“Giving the show everyone asks for,” He hummed lowly, and leaned down to kiss Yuta, who immediately closed his eyes.
Ten’s lips were soft against his own. At first the kiss was gentle, careful, as if Ten was checking if that is okay. When Yuta kissed him back it became more hungry, more needy. Ten bit on his lip, making Yuta’s mouth open. Ten took advantage of it and Yuta didn’t oppose it. He quite enjoyed the attention.
They changed positions slowly, Yuta pulling Ten closer, so he was on the verge of towering over Yuta.
Yuta could feel the tension leaving Ten’s body with every passing second. Every time Yuta moaned or ran his hand through Ten’s back, the other seemed to relax into the touch. Though he wanted to believe otherwise, Yuta knew why Ten was doing that.
The company wanted a show, so that’s what they were going to get. Ten’s hand started to slowly move lower from Yuta’s neck to his chest and belly, and Yuta squirmed underneath him, feeling himself getting hard. Okay. Maybe he enjoyed it a bit too much. It was difficult to remember they were still in public.
“T-Ten” Yuta gasped, pulling away gently.
“Did I go too far?” Ten asked, concerned, and Yuta wanted to scream.
“No. Quite the opposite.” He said, and glanced down at his boxers, Ten followed his gaze, and when realisation hit, he looked at Yuta quickly.
“Oops. Sorry.” Ten breathed, eyes wide. He looked embarrassed only for a second before his whole demeanour completely switched. Something dark appeared in his gaze, as he smirked at Yuta,
“Want to take this to the hotel room then?” Ten asked, his voice low, purring almost. And Yuta could feel himself becoming hot, his dick throbbing painfully in his boxers.
“Yes, yes. Of course.” Yuta was eager, but he didn’t care, and when Ten giggled at that, it didn’t sound negative at all. More importantly, Ten was still blushing, probably still shy about kissing in public. Or perhaps it was because of the reaction he got from Yuta. Nevertheless, Yuta was definitely not about to complain.
//////
They went back to kissing the second the doors to their hotel room closed. The kisses were messy, interrupted by moans and gasping for air. Ten’s hands were all over him, touching Yuta whenever he could reach and hitting all of Yuta’s buttons in the process.Yuta’s brain was malfunctioning. His breath was heavy as they moved towards the bed, trying not to trip on any of the things they threw on the floor when coming from the beach. The clothes were taken off piece by piece, just as carelessly thrown to the side.
When they finally reached the bed and fell on top of the sheets, they had nothing on except for boxers. Yuta landed on his back as Ten was quick to climb on top of him, kissing him again, lowering himself to his neck first, then collarbones. As he started biting and sucking on his skin, Yuta’s body shivered.
“Fuck,” Yuta swallowed loudly when Ten pushed his hips against Yuta’s, the friction between making him lose his mind. Ten was kissing down his chest, his fingernails scratching his skin gently, his palms holding onto his waist.
When Ten started to make a hickey on his hip bone, Yuta shuddered and a loud moan escaped his lips. His dick painfully remained covered, but Yuta desperately needed more.
“Ten please.” Yuta whined when Ten dragged his finger along the waistband of his boxers. He couldn’t bear the teasing anymore. Ten pulled himself up, and moved forward so he could hover over Yuta. Face to face, Yuta’s eyes focused on Ten’s lips — they were calling to him. He leaned up, wanting so badly to kiss him. But Ten moved away, a teasing smile on his lips and mischief shining in his eyes.
“I wanna ride you, can I?” Ten purred.
“God, yes.” he uttered, breath stuck in his throat. “I have condoms and lube in my bag,” Yuta gulped, the last crumbs of patience left in him running out. Ten giggled and got up, and Yuta suddenly started feeling like he missed the closeness he had when Ten was hovering over him, just seconds before. The familiar feeling of missing someone was new to him at the same time. It was a different type of missing — longing for someone who was right there.
Ten didn’t have many issues with finding what he needed, walking back soon after he left. Yuta watched as Ten threw the things on the bed and then proceeded to take off the last pieces of clothing that were getting in the way of their urges. Soon enough Ten was completely naked in front of him, and crawling back onto the bed. God , Yuta loved the sight of that.
“Do you want me to stretch you out?” Yuta asked getting up ready to help, Ten paused a moment before speaking.
“No need, I have an idea.” Ten smirked. He then proceeded to pull Yuta’s boxer’s off, and once they were both naked, Ten used lube on his hands, warming it up a little. He sat in between Yuta’s legs, and Yuta watched expectantly what will happen next.
Yuta’s breath hitched in his throat when Ten’s hand reached for his cock, while with the other he reached behind himself, starting to work himself open. Yuta looked at Ten as he whimpered, pushing his fingers inside himself, trying to simultaneously keep the rhythm his other hand had on Yuta.
“Holy shit, Ten.” Yuta’s head hit the pillows once more, feeling dizzy at the sight and sensation that was running through his body. Yuta’s breath was heavy, soft moans escaping his lips.
When Ten finally felt like he prepared himself enough, his hand worked on Yuta for a few more seconds while he leaned down, and started peppering Yuta’s inner thigh with kisses. Ten then moved further, licking the head of his dick, making Yuta curse under his breath. He licked Yuta’s length, his tongue flat against it, before taking him into his mouth, bobbing his head a few times. Before moving away, he did so slowly, his mouth closed tightly around his length. Yuta felt like air was punched out of his lungs,
“Shit,” he cursed. He could feel his heart racing, a warm feeling spreading in the pit of his stomach.
When Ten looked satisfied enough, he once again placed himself on top of Yuta. Yuta’s hands automatically grabbed his thighs, massaging the skin. He watched as Ten slowly adjusted himself before placing his dick right by his entrance.
“Are you ready?” Ten asked, glancing at him.
“Yeah.” Yuta swallowed loudly, answering with one single nod. He felt eager, excited about what was coming, and he couldn’t look away. When Ten slowly inserted his cock inside of himself, starting to get used to the feeling, Yuta sighed. He closed his eyes, losing himself in the way Ten felt around him.
Ten started moving, then started moving faster, putting his hands on Yuta’s chest, fingernails digging into his flesh. Soon enough, Yuta couldn’t focus on anything else, just Ten. Ten and their breaths and moans mixed in between.
God, what a fucking sight that was. Ten’s hair was sticking to his face, his lips parted as short breaths left his pretty swollen lips. He could feel Ten’s walls clenching around him, and Yuta’s whole body was screaming, needing more. Part of him wanted to make Ten scream in ecstasy like how he did at their concert the first night, this time louder, more blissful. And god, Ten sounded amazing.
Yuta couldn’t move, not when he could watch this. Ten was ethereal, his chest rising in an enchanting rhythm. There were purple bites everywhere on his flushed chest and long, pale neck. Ten’s eyes were closed, head tilted to the back, as the pleasure built. Their moans grew louder, Ten’s movements faster, his nails digging into Yuta’s chest. He knew people would see the marks on the next day, but he didn’t care. The real world outside that room didn’t matter.
At that moment it was only him and Ten.

DOYOUNG
When the sound of someone softly knocking at his door spread throughout the office, Doyoung finally looked up from his laptop. He blinked, his eyes adjusting to the real world again after what felt like hours of staring at his bright screen as he searched the web.
“Are you busy?” Tayong peeked through and Doyoung shook his head, smiling lightly and gesturing for Taeyong to come in.
“I brought coffee.” Taeyong smiled his way, showing off mugs in his hand.
Doyoung and Taeyong didn’t meet too often, but from what Doyoung concluded the past few weeks Taeyong had a tendency to worry. And when he worried about Ten and Yuta — he came to Doyoung which Doyoung found himself not minding at all.
“Do you want something to eat? I can order from a cafeteria downstairs.”
“No, thank you. I had a meeting with the rest of the members, we had lunch and dessert.” Taeyong answered politely.
“Okay, then.” Doyoung answered, pulling his hand away from the phone. He waited for Taeyong to take a seat on the couch near the window before he moved himself to sit near him. It wasn’t a work meeting per se, there was no need for Doyoung to sit by the desk. That was far too formal.
“Have you seen the tweets?”
“Tweets, pictures.” Doyoung sighed, feeling himself blushing, “Glad they are having fun.” Doyoung huffed a laugh trying to hide just how embarrassed he felt about what was going down there. Taeyong nodded, biting his lip, clearly something on his mind.
“What is it?”
“I just— I’m worried about Ten.”
“Ah.”
“I— I know Yuta, okay? Like… I remember him from earlier days, when Mark was still here… but he has changed a lot since then.” Taeyong corrected himself. Doyoung honestly understood him. He cleared his throat, as he inched closer to Taeyong.
“Mark’s death really shook him up, all of them. But I promise you, he doesn’t have bad intentions. I can see it. He would never purposefully hurt another person.”
“Really?”
“Yeah. And I mean… sure, he doesn’t use his brain much lately, but he won't hurt Ten. He likes him, and Yuta is not one to harm people he’s close to. He cares about him. At least, I want to trust that he does and won’t hurt him.” Doyoung kept talking.
He’s known Yuta for a long time and he saw him change completely after Mark’s death. He was there when Yutae refused anyone’s help, watched as Yuta got bitter in the last three years. But he cared for people close to him, this never changed. Doyoung wasn’t blind, even if Yuta tried to act otherwise.
Taeyong smiled, “You care for him, don’t you.”
“Of course. I have watched them since day one. I saw Yuta at his peak and when he hit rock bottom. Sure, he can be mean, and good at pushing people away. But there is also not a more loyal person than him — don’t tell him I said that, though.” Doyoung cleared his throat, embarrassed, and Taeyong giggled at that.
“I get it. I care for Ten and the members too. I just… he gets attached. And I’m worried what will happen once it’s over. And the worst thing is, he will act like nothing happened. Like he doesn’t care. He’s stubborn.”
“Ten and Yuta have that in common.” Doyoung pointed out. Taeyong snorted, agreeing with him.
“It’s gonna be fine. They still have the chance to remain friends after all.”
“I hope you’re right.”
“I know I am.” Doyoung assured, smiling widely. There was really nothing much for him to do except to hope this whole situation wouldn’t end horribly.

YUTA
“Wait, no way Johnny did that!”
“Yeah, it was pretty embarrassing for everyone.” Yuta giggled along as Ten’s melodic laugh spread across the room.
It was around 11 pm and Ten and Yuta decided to go back to their room and just enjoy their last night in Thailand inside, before going back to Seoul the next day. They were drinking, eating, and talking about anything that comes to mind.
They were currently talking about the most embarrassing moments they or their members had, and Yuta couldn’t not notice that Johnny and Yangyang could easily go head-to-head in a competition of who can out-stupid the other.
Yuta watched as Ten calmed down from his laughing fit, and took a sip of wine from his glass. They were sitting on the carpet, the bed behind them as they were leaning against the frame. They could use any furniture in the suite, and yet they were sitting there, Yuta still had to admit it felt comfortable. Like hanging out with a friend.
“Your band seems fun, all of you.”
“Yeah. I guess we are close, so it’s easy to just be dumb.” Yuta shrugged.
“Your members seem… alright. Too.” Yuta said awkwardly, remembering the cold first meeting. Ten snorted.
“I promise they are fun! They are just protective, thus the hostile environment. I’m sorry about it.”
“It’s fine,” Yuta shrugged. It was deserved, he thought. “The thing about a bad reputation is that no one wants to have it, but also… once it’s here you can do pretty much whatever. Being a mess is pretty much expected from me now. It’s freeing. Kind of.”
Ten was quietly watching him. Yuta thought it might be judgmental, but there was no sign it was what Ten was thinking, Yuta wasn’t sure why, but he decided to continue,
“You know… I wasn’t always like that. It’s just easier. Getting attached and having feelings is… it’s not necessary. And people leave anyway, so might as well make sure they won't come near me in the first place.”
“Even your members?” His voice was a whisper, quiet, and Yuta could swear he felt something… delicate in the way he said it. It was just a simple question, without any heaviness, however Yuta wouldn’t be able to answer it right away. He thought of the answer and his mind wandered back in time, his heart aching with a familiar pain once again.
“One of them did.” Yuta looked straight ahead, “But he also died.” he paused before continuing. “I can’t really tell whether he wanted to leave us forever, or just me because he wasn’t interested in me that way…”
“Yuta— I’m sorry.”
“It’s fine,” Yuta emptied his glass as the surrounding silence became suffocating. “I will go shower and sleep, I think.” Yuta didn’t even spare Ten a glance.
He couldn't, he was afraid of pity, so he got up and quickly moved to the bathroom, shutting the doors behind. Trying to free his body of the sorrow that he felt. Yuta hated himself for feeling that way, knowing fully well Ten didn’t mean anything bad. He probably didn’t know who Mark was in the first place, and yet, the scars that were supposed to be already healed, were still hurting him.
When Yuta emerged from the room, the floor was cleared. All the boxes and tableware were put aside, along with the bottles and glasses. Ten was already in bed, his back facing him, seemingly asleep. Yuta tried to be quiet, and careful as he lay down next to him. He sighed and closed his eyes, hoping to fall asleep quickly.

Incheon airport was practically empty when they landed. All the procedures were done in silence. It was quiet between them ever since they woke up.
This entire time they barely spoke to one another, unless it was absolutely necessary. By the time they spotted their managers, they were ready to separate, itching to get away from one another. But they were then reminded they were still in a public space, and people were watching them.
Act like a couple. Doyound said, his eyes darting between them both. Yuta was able to see that something was wrong from his expression, but he wasn’t willing to mention it.
They smiled at each other and politely hugged. Ten was so tense in his arms that it felt awkward. The goodbye was quick, purposefully rushed. As they went their separate ways, Yuta wished for the ride to be as fast as possible, so he could be back in his apartment. On his own, he could finally deal with whatever he felt.

Ten:
Hi, I once again wanted to apologize. I should've kept my mouth shut.
It was insensitive, I’m sorry.
Me:
Don’t worry, it’s been a long time ago.
I’m fine.
Ten:
You sure?
Me:
Yeah ^^
Yuta shut off his phone, not feeling like talking to anyone for now. He opened the browser instead, searching for past articles.
Yuta didn’t need to search far to find what he wanted. All it took was googling his own name, and the main article showed up in the top 5 searches.
It was funny how his past was always near him, like a shadow. It was always creeping from around the corner, waiting to remind him of its existence again.
HOT NEWS!!!
Guitarist and leader of Bring The Noize, Mark Lee (24), found dead after the party he attended with his members: Nakamoto Yuta and Johnny Suh. Police suspects overdose.
We are still waiting for more information.
NEW LEADER!
After the death of Leader and Lead Guitarist Mark Lee, Bring The Noize assigned a new leader to the team!
Due to the unfortunate death of Mark Lee, 127ent decided that Moon Taeil (keyboard, now also rhythm guitar) will take his place as the leader of the group.
BREAKING!!
Vocalist of an uprising rock band Bring the Noize – Nakamoto Yuta has checked into a rehab center along with the bassist Johnny Suh.
Earlier this month, guitarist—Lee Mark died due to an overdose. The management says that it was sudden and shocking. And it looks like the two members decided to try to change old habits. It’s sad it had to come to a tragedy first for them to see how badly it could end, but nevertheless we wish them good luck!!
“This gossip site has the shittiest writers.” Yuta murmured under his nose, trying to ignore the sting in his heart as he saw pictures of him and Mark looking happy together.
Together. Yuta scoffed. He and Mark weren’t together per se. They weren’t supposed to be. It was just them fooling around. Yuta wasn’t supposed to fall in love. Not like that. Not with someone who didn’t want anything to do with the relationship. Mark liked Yuta, but it was never the same way Yuta cared for Mark. Then one stupid mistake and he was gone.
The article was almost 3 years old. Yuta should not feel this heartbroken anymore. The pictures from that night should not be this clear in his head right now.
He could feel his eyes burning from tears, so he picked his phone, and with shaking hands picked one number he needed.
“Hello?”
“Hi Taeil,” Yuta whispered, his voice hoarse. He tried hard not to start crying, he didn’t have it in him to just fall apart now. But he still couldn’t help himself when a sob left his mouth, followed by hot tears.
“Yuta? What’s going on?” Taeil’s voice was full of worry and concern, which Yuta couldn’t blame him for. Yuta didn’t cry. Not in front of them. And he definitely didn’t call anyone because the pain was too much to bear alone.
“We had a fight.'“
“Who? You and Ten?” Taeil asked, confused. Yuta snorted. Of course, that is the first thought that would come to mind.
“No. Me and Mark. That night he died. We fought.”
“Yuta…”
“I wanted… I wanted a relationship. But he was fine with whatever we had, you know? And we were both so stupidly stubborn—” Yuta choked on his words. He could hear Taeil move around, he could feel his body shaking more and more, but he continued speaking despite feeling like his chest was about to explode. Now that he started to talk, he couldn’t stop.
“Maybe if I didn’t try to talk him into dating, maybe if he wasn’t so angry with me, he still would be alive.” More tears, he wept loudly, the pain in his chest was too much.
“Yuta, are you home?”
“Yeah.” Yuta gasped, trying to catch a breath, “I miss him. I lost someone I loved, but most of all, I lost my best friend. And it’s all because I was so fucking stupid—”
“Hey, it’s okay. It’s not your fault, alright?” Taeil said, but he was met with silence.
“Listen, I’m leaving my apartment now, I will be at your place in a few minutes, okay? Stay there, don’t go anywhere. Okay?”
“Ye…yeah.” Yuta breathed out. He tried his best to remain composed and calm, but he kept failing. He listened to Taeil and didn’t move until his friend was at his door, ready to comfort him.

For people who fought the HR that they do more than just hang out at bars, as their dating spot, Yuta and Ten surely found themselves there often during the nights they were together. Tonight was no different. Although the place they picked for the night was definitely more fancy, and discreet. It was still better than a snobby restaurant in Yuta’s opinion. And they were the ones who picked the spot.
Yuta and Ten had their own space, further from the dance floor. The booth was covered from the sides, and the entrance was hidden behind a veil, so not many people would look their way. Most important of all, there could be no eavesdropping. Yuta had to admit he liked the element of privacy, and drinks were nicer too. Maybe expensive places weren’t so bad after all.
“So, Johnny asked me to hang out with him.”
“Oh.”
“Should I go?” Ten asked, Yuta shrugged,
“I mean… Do you want to go?”
“I’m still thinking.”
“Okay,” Yuta answered simply. Ten licked his lips as he stared at him, expecting more to be said, so Yuta tried to figure out what else to say.
“Honestly, Johnny is a fun guy to be around. You're gonna have fun.” Yuta answered flatly, not wanting to look Ten’s way. He acted like the liquid in his glass was the most interesting thing in the world.
“Right.” Ten breathed out, sounding crabby. Yuta felt like he should say more, but when he finally glanced at him, Ten looked upset. He was sipping on his drink, looking elsewhere, so Yuta thought maybe they should change the topic.
“I’m sorry I outed you on accident.” Yuta prompted. Ten looked at him, not hiding the surprise. ‘Outed‘ might be an incorrect term, but while Yuta was openly bisexual, Ten never really said he liked men. He only hinted at it occasionally, from what Yuta found online. But for the public to get confirmation that Ten liked men — that was all Yuta’s fault. And while he was happy this news didn’t cause any drama and issues towards Ten — Yuta still felt bad.
“Stop, it wasn’t your fault.”
“But I kissed you in a very public space.”
“Well, I wasn’t that drunk to not be aware of that. I knew the risk, but I didn’t care. And honestly I was thinking about coming out for a while,” Ten shrugged. “All these people trying to push me to sing ‘ girl’ in lyrics were honestly getting on my nerves.” Ten rolled his eyes. Yuta huffed a laugh as Ten continued, “Honestly, being seen with an attractive man publically was the best way to say, hi I like dick! more straightforwardly.” Ten winked, smiling mischievously.
“So what you’re saying is… I’m hot and you wanted me?” Yuta raised his eyebrow seductively, leaning closer. Ten pushed him away with a laugh.
“Not really. You were loud, and I just thought your mouth could be put to a better use.” Ten winked. Yuta grinned at him, trying to scoot closer again, and when Ten allowed him so, Yuta was more than happy to get into his space.
“What are you doing?” Ten muttered as Yuta’s hand found its place on Ten’s thigh, rubbing it.
“Doing what I was told, and acting like a good boyfriend, who is also very horny right now.” Yuta smirked. Ten laughed dismissively, but when Yuta’s lips landed on his neck, Ten allowed to kiss him there. He moved his head to the side so Yuta could have better access to the skin. He let out a shaky breath when Yuta sucked on the skin, not caring he would leave a mark. That’s what they were supposed to be like, anyway.
“Mhh,” Ten purred, his chest moving more rapidly. As Yuta undid a few buttons of Ten’s shirt to get better access to his collarbones, making sure he leaves his signature there too, Ten’s breath hitched in his throat.
“Yuta.” Ten huffed lowly. The way he said his name made the butterflies in Yuta’s stomach stronger. He pulled away, focusing on Ten’s face. He was so beautiful like that — dark gaze and small playful smile, his collarbones peeking from the unbuttoned material of his shirt. Yuta leaned down to kiss his skin. When he dared to nibble at it he could feel Ten’s body shudder. Ten’s hand landed on his chest pushing him away gently. When Yuta backed off, Ten caught his lips in a quick kiss.
“Let’s end the show. Take me somewhere else to finish.” Ten whispered. Yuta felt hot all over. Fuck.
“Like a bathroom?” Yuta asked jokingly, it was worth it as he watched Ten laugh.
“I think I saw a hotel nearby.”
“Eager aren’t we.” Yuta’s voice was low.
“You are the one who said he was horny,” Ten reminded him. Yuta wanted to oppose, but at the same time Ten’s hand wandered on his thigh, reaching his crotch, making Yuta whimper instead of saying anything coherent.
“Fuck. Yeah. Let’s go.” Yuta sputtered a bunch of words of agreement. He felt so much want — like he needed Ten’s hands on him. Alone. With no clothes in between, preferably.
There was an unmistakable neediness in Yuta’s actions, something that he hadn’t felt in a while. In a way, his body screamed just for one person, but it was a feeling Yuta didn’t want to focus on too much. It was something he wasn’t ready to face yet, so he tried hard to swallow it down, to forget about it. Focusing only on the pleasures of the night. Whatever his heart wanted him to feel, could wait.

“Do you want me to call Johnny with a fake emergency or something?” Jaehyun asked, watching Yuta with amusement in his eyes.
“What? Why?”
“So his date with Ten would be cut short, and you’d stop pouting while staring at your phone.” Jaehyun ended, receiving a snort from Jungwoo, who had to find it funny. However, Yuta didn’t feel like laughing.
“I wasn’t pouting, and it’s not a date.” he huffed.
Johnny was taking Ten out today, and Yuta tried his best not to think about it. He hoped hanging out with his friends could be a good distraction, however, they weren’t helping at all.
“Johnny said otherwise.” Jungwoo said teasingly, clearly looking for a reaction.
“Well, Ten didn’t.” Yuta said through his teeth. It was true, while he heard Johnny referring to it as a date, Ten only used words like hangout and friend, when referring to Johnny.
“Are you jealous?” Jeahyun smirked.
“Are you sure there is nothing going on?” Jungwoo added, and Yuta sighed. He loved these two but god, were they able to get on his nerves quickly.
“I’m not jealous. And nothing’s going on. We are just… Friends. Who also fake date.”
“And sleep together.” Jungwoo pointed out.
“A nice bonus.” Yuta shrugged.
“You also spend time together. Privately.”
“To post on our socials later. Also, as I said before. We are friends now, too.”
“Oh, sure.” Jungwoo sounded dismissive.
“I don’t understand the sudden interest in me and Ten, honestly.”
“He’s nice. We like him. You two look good together.” Jungwoo said, smiling as he spoke. Jaehyun only looked between them, listening.
“We aren’t together.”
“I didn’t say you were,” Jungwoo smirked, “I just think, he would be good for you after what happened with Ma—”
“Okay, that’s enough! I need you to stop talking right now.” Yuta snapped at him. Jungwoo looked startled. Yuta didn’t mean to raise his voice, especially when he saw how apologetic he looked.
“Yuta.” Jaehyun sternly warned him.
“I’m sorry. I’m sorry, really, okay?” He looked at Jungwoo.
“I’m sorry too. I shouldn’t have pushed.”
“I know you mean well, I shouldn’t get angry, I’m sorry.” Yuta patted his back. Jungwoo smiled, looking genuine as he accepted Yuta’s apology. All Jungwoo was doing was caring for his members, and when Yuta got mad at Jungwoo, it felt like yelling at a puppy.
“And you,” Yuta turned towards Jaehyun, “Don’t go all protective boyfriend on me, you know I’d never hurt him.” Yuta complained with fake outrage hey were both smiling, knowing fully well there was no tension anymore.
“Sorry.” Jaehyun grinned. Jungwoo moved up and went to Jaehyun to hug him. Yuta turned his gaze not wanting to interrupt their moment. He gazed at his phone. Still no new messages, but he couldn’t help but wonder how Ten and Johnny were doing.

TEN
Ten was watching a drama Xiaojun recommended, but his mind kept wandering somewhere else, refusing to focus. He considered going to sleep, especially since it was almost one am, but he knew he wouldn’t be able to calm his mind enough to get the rest he needs.
When his phone lit up with a notification, it was almost a saving grace — an excuse to stay up. He saw Yuta’s name on the screen and his curiosity only grew. It wasn’t just an excuse to stay up, it was also a good one.
Yuta:
Hi, can I come over quickly?
Me:
Yeah…
Are you alright?
Yuta:
Yes…
Just being near your place. I’m actually almost there.
Me:
xxx-xxx
The code to the front door.
Do you remember the number of my apartment?
Yuta:
Yeah, be there soon.
Me:
Okay.
Ten was curious why Yuta was in the neighborhood. Why did he decide to visit Ten at such an ungodly hour? What made Yuta think of him? Not that he minded, it just wasn’t something that would typically happen. Especially at this hour.
When Yuta said soon, he meant soon . Not even 5 minutes passed when Ten heard his doorbell ring. He went to open the door, definitely not expecting to see Yuta in the state he was in.
“Yuta? What the hell happened?”
Ten looked shocked after opening the door, letting him in. Yuta tried to smile, but the cut on his lip made him grimace in pain instead. Ten guided him to the couch and when they both sat down, Ten took a closer look, examining Yuta’s face. His lip was busted and there was an ugly bruise on his cheek. Yuta looked pretty tired, with bags under his eyes, and messy hair. But he undoubtedly wasn’t drunk enough to get into a fight, this much Ten could immediately tell.
Yuta took a deep breath, avoiding Ten’s gaze.
“So I was at a party, and I was dancing with this girl—“
“Of course you did.”
“Turns out she had a boyfriend, and he saw us.”
“Yuta what the hell?!”
“It wasn’t like that! I was minding my own business when she approached me, we were just dancing respectfully and having fun. But then her boyfriend approached us, and told me to fuck off, and— what?” Yuta asked as Ten looked at him blankly. He didn’t answer or say anything before getting up to go to the bathroom. Ten gathered everything he needed from there, returning to the living room with his hands full with the medicine he needed. Yuta looked at him with confusion.
“What is that for?”
“To clean your wounds, you idiot.”
“I swear I didn’t do anything! I wasn’t touching her, nor was I flirting. I’m innocent!“ Yuta protested. It sounded like a whining if Ten was being honest.
Ten didn’t answer, instead rolled his eyes at him before focusing on a cotton swab he dipped in antiseptic.
“It will sting a little.” Ten warned before pressing the damp swab on his upper lip. Yuta hissed but then tried to bite the pain inside. He grabbed Ten’s thigh, squeezing it from time to time when the pain was sharper, but that was the full extent of it. Yuta was too distracted to feel any more pain, his full focus was on Ten’s face who could feel his eyes on him. But Ten couldn’t think about that, he had to focus on disinfecting Yuta’s lips, and ignoring the way his heart skipped a bit.
“Your tongue is sticking out when you’re focused, it’s kinda cute.” Yuta giggled when Ten moved the cotton from his lips.
“You’re dumb.” Ten finally whispered. He still could feel himself blushing, the heat in cheeks growing as he heard Yuta chuckling. Ten exchanged the cotton for a clean one, purposefully avoiding Yuta’s gaze.
“It’s the guy who had a problem. Which maybe I said to him more or less, but— ouch!” Yuta wasn’t able to finish when Ten pushed the clean cotton pad on the wound. This time harder than before, as if he wanted it to hurt. Ten tried to play it off as an accident, but Yuta had doubt in his eyes.
Maybe Yuta wasn't so wrong about that.
“You can’t get into fights. Do you want to get in trouble again?” Ten scolded him, Yuta actually looked guilty, Ten watched him then scoffed.“And you don’t have to explain yourself to me. You’re allowed to have fun.”
“Nothing was going to happen. Between me and her, I mean.”
“It’s fine.” Ten shrugged, avoiding looking at Yuta. Ten watched Yuta open his mouth as if wanting to say something, when a meowing broke the silence. Leon appeared from Ten’s bedroom, and ran towards the two of them. Yuta smiled when the cat started to rub against his leg, Ten watched as Yuta leaned down to pet him.
“Hi, little one. At least someone is happy to see me here.”
“Leon likes everyone, don’t be flattered,” Ten scoffed. But his heart still swelled at the sight.
“Hi Leon, nice to meet you, I’m Yuta,” he watched as the cat bumped his head against Yuta’s hand, demanding more pets.
“Louis is somewhere here too, but you’re still a stranger to him, so he probably won’t come out.” Ten said, his voice softer as he watched the two of them interact.
“It’s fine,” Yuta whispered, looking all giddy at the sigh of a cat.
“And I’m happy. To see you.” Yuta looked up surprised, smiling as he saw Ten blush. Ten now made himself look busy while gathering the used materials and rushing back to the bathroom. Why did you say that?! Ten scolded himself as he stared at his reflection in the mirror, trying to calm down.
When Ten came back, Leon took his spot, demanding attention from Yuta, which he was happy to give. Ten watched them quietly, and when he started to feel a warm sensation in his chest, he decided it’s time to speak up.
“You can stay here, by the way.” Ten cleared his throat.
“It… it’s fine. I don’t want to burden you with that.”
“You won’t. It’s okay, you can sleep in the guest bedroom.”
Ten stood to the side awkwardly, unable to hold eye contact.
“Okay, thank you.” Yuta finally answered. He sounded grateful, and when Ten looked his way, he was smiling at him.
“Alright, I will get it ready for you. I left the antiseptic in the bathroom. You can shower there, I’m gonna leave fresh towels near the bath.”
“Okay. Thanks.”
“No problem.”
//////
Ten could hear commotion outside his bedroom, however he decided to ignore it, thinking it was Yuta either going to the kitchen or bathroom. It was almost 3 am when the two of them finally parted ways, each of them going to separate rooms. A handful of minutes had passed since then, filled with Ten doing everything he can to forget that Yuta is so close by and that he trusted him with his vulnerable state.
He closed his eyes, letting the exhaustion lull him to sleep slowly. Only a few moments of silence passed before he opened them again after hearing a soft knock at the door.
“Ten?” Yuta whispered from the other side.
“Come in,” Ten responded, moving up to turn on the lamp on his table. Yuta appeared awkward as he entered the room, looking everywhere but Ten.
“What is it?” Ten mumbled sleepily.
“I— okay you can blame it on me being drunk or the late time, or whatever, but… can I sleep with you?”
“Oh?”
“No! I don’t mean like sleep with you . I mean like… the same bed. I have issues with sleeping in a new place on my own.”
Yuta was blushing, and Ten had to fight himself not to tease him, but there was something vulnerable in the way he stood there, his hands clasped together, posture slouched. Ten didn’t feel like that was the right time to be playful. And Ten wouldn’t have a heart to tell him no. Not that he thought of doing that in the first place.
“Yeah, it’s alright.” Ten nodded, moving closer to the edge of the bed to make some more room. Yuta closed the door behind himself and approached the bed, awkwardly getting in.
“It’s okay if we cuddle?” Yuta asked gently, as if he was embarrassed by the question. Ten swallowed, ignoring his heart fluttering in his chest.
“Sure, nothing we haven’t done before.” Ten decided and Yuta was quick to snuggle against Ten’s side. Ten turned the lights off, throwing his arm around Yuta, adjusting both of them to be comfortable. They lied in silence. He listened as Yuta’s breathing slowly evened out. Soon enough, falling asleep.
In the morning, Ten remembered falling asleep with Yuta in his arms. But when he woke up he found himself alone in his room, there was no sight of him in his apartment. Yuta simply left.
Ten felt disappointed. But when he later on found a note on the kitchen counter he couldn’t help but smile.
Thank you for taking care of my drunken beaten up ass.
I appreciate it a lot. I tried to clean up after myself the best I can. Also, I gave Leon snacks, Louis still hates me and refused to eat anything from me. But we will work on it.
See you soon?

YUTA
Doyoung and Yuta were on their way to a filming site when Yuta made the request to stop somewhere on their way. Doyoung was surprised but did as he was told. It was only him and Doyoung, and Yuta was the last one to film today, so there wasn’t any problem with making a small stop. And Yuta needed it.
That’s how they found themselves in front of a cemetery gate they both knew very well.
“You sure you don’t want company?” Doyoung tried to wear a neutral tone, but there was worry in his eyes.
“Yeah, I’ll be quick. I just want to say hello to my friend.”
“Okay. I’ll be here. Call me if you need me?”
“Will do.” Yuta answered and left the van, closing the door behind himself.
Yuta knew the way so well he could probably reach Mark’s grave blindfolded. The path was leading straight almost to the end of the cemetery. The place was old and big, split in old and new sections. It was full of old and new graves. Everywhere he looked he saw statues, testaments of lives full of stories he was curious about, but he’d never learn. The same way no one would know Mark’s.
Normally, Yuta would say there was something magical in a place like this, where past met present. Or where so many people were put to rest, so many lives along the years. But this specific place was also the place Yuta hated the most. It was the place where he watched Mark being buried.
He didn’t feel anything but pain being here, and yet, he marched forward with his head held up until he found what he was looking for.
“Hi, Mark.” Yuta whispered when he found himself in front of the tombstone. There was no one around him that required him to whisper, but Yuta still felt weird to speak loudly. He preferred to whisper, it felt more appropriate.
“It’s been a while, sorry for not visiting.” Yuta said, his eyes focusing on the name engraved in the stone.
“Band was busy. And I couldn’t bear the thought of coming here, if I’m being honest.”
Yuta knew the members were coming here often, always making sure there were fresh flowers from them here. Even now, Yuta saw a bouquet of tulips in the ceramic vase, he guessed it was from Taeil and Jaehyun, as they mentioned on going here a few days ago in the group chat.
“Also, I’ve entered a fake relationship.” Yuta chuckled quietly, feeling awkward all of a sudden.
“You would like Ten, I’m sure. He is great, funny, smart, and talented. Everyone loves him. He is great to be around.” Yuta listed, picturing Ten's face in his mind.
But then he remembered Mark’s face, wondering if what he said was true. Would they really become friends? And what would happen with Yuta and Ten if Mark was still alive. Yuta wished to know how life would look like with Mark being still here, and Ten still somehow by his side. Yuta exhaled loudly.
“I miss you.” he started, allowing the wave of sadness to cover him, “But I miss Mark — my best friend. More than anything. It would be nice having you here.” Yuta sighed, “I’d really could use your advice, and I’m scared of talking to the guys, even though I know I should.” Yuta continued, needing to let things go off his chest. He felt slightly better, talking. Even if no one was listening. Even if there was no way for Mark to give him any advice. And yet, when Yuta returned to the van, his heart felt lighter.

@mellowfall: Ten should date Johnny, not Yuta. Even Mark knew that Yuta was a waste of time. Ten can do better.
Yuta closed the app, sighing, suddenly feeling anger bubble in his chest. He was in his apartment alone, several emptied beer cans on the coffee table. Yuta wouldn’t say he was drunk — at least not yet. But he definitely planned to be.
“I need everyone to shut up.” He mumbled to himself, rubbing his face, tired.
Yuta had a bad day, it was just one of those days when he didn’t wish to deal with negative bullshit. The comments weren't helping his state, so what’s better than to get drunk? He missed the feeling. Or he missed to not feel things. He needed to stop whatever he was feeling, he needed to forget. His mind was just a constant turmoil, and he needed it to stop.
If it wasn’t going to stop on its own, Yuta would have to force it to. That’s exactly what he was going to do.
🎸🎸🎸
The first thing Yuta realized after waking up was the fact he was in his own bed. He had a headache and a good idea how it got there. He felt nauseous, and a separate heavy feeling in the pit of his stomach. But he couldn’t remember how he got to his room and when.
Drunk Yuta usually ended up sleeping on the couch. All he remembered was his drinking, the sudden wave of sadness he had difficulties fighting and doing something with his phone but— he didn’t remember what. Maybe he called his members?
The second thing he realized, there was a glass of water and meds by his bed table. He called someone, definitely. He tried to remember which one of his friends he called when he heard a noise coming from the outside, he figured it was coming from the kitchen.
Yuta quickly took the pills, and emptied the glass, before standing up and groaning when he got dizzy — he should know better than to move so fast in this state.
As it turned out, he called Ten in the middle of the night. Ten, who was sitting by the table drinking tea. Yuta joined him, asking immediately what happened.
“You called me around 2 am. Crying… you said you miss Mark.” There was a hint of worry, in his voice. “I came here and helped you calm down, then got you to your bed. I was too worried to leave you alone.”
“Did we— you know. Do something else?”
“No. You were just… crying. I’d not take advantage of you, you know?”
“I… I know. I’m sorry. It wasn’t what I meant.”
“Have you taken the meds?” Ten asked instead. He didn’t sound annoyed, which Yuta took as a good sign.
“Yeah.”
“It was just— I was worried, so I stayed the night. I hope that’s okay.” Ten added, looking down.
“Yeah, of course! Thank you. Really.”
Yuta wondered if it was just him feeling awkward all of a sudden, or Ten had felt it too. They were just staring at one another, no one really willing to break the gaze first. Yuta wished he could read Ten’s mind. He looked like there was something else he wanted to say. He felt like hours passed before Ten finally moved his gaze away from him, clearing his throat.
“Since you're not dying, I should go. We have a photoshoot today, and I don’t want Kun and Taeyong to kill me for being late.”
“Right. I can drive you there?”
“No, no. It’s fine,” Ten said hurriedly, grabbing his phone and jumping off the stool. “I got here by my car last night, no worries.” Ten smiled his way, slowly backing away from the kitchen towards the entrance,
“Please remember to drink lots of liquids that aren’t alcoholic.” Ten pointed out, Yuta chuckled rolling his eyes at him, Ten grinned, “Also eat something light. And rest a lot!”
“I will, don’t worry. I can take care of myself,” Yuta assured, trying to ignore Ten’s skeptical gaze.
“Okay, I’m trying to take care of myself , ” Yuta snorted, correcting himself. Ten gazed at him one more time, and said goodbye, lingering by the entrance for a few seconds more, before closing the door. It looked like he wanted to say something, but gave up on the idea.
Yuta turned back to the kitchen, trying to ignore the tugging feeling in his chest. He got himself more water, snapping a picture of him drinking it, and sending it to Ten. Later on, Ten sent him rolling eyes emoji, followed by a thumbs up, the row of messages ended with good job, I’m proud of you. Yuta felt the sarcastic tone even from that, not being able to help himself, when his lips stretched into a faint smile.

Jungwoo
Jungwoo wasn’t noisy. He liked to say that he was curious and especially about the business of his members. He loved to ask questions, so when he spotted who Johnny was texting, he couldn’t stop himself.
“Is that Kun?”
“Kun? King of Hearts, Kun?” He heard Taeil speaking up, sounding as surprised as Jungwoo was.
“Yeah,” Johnny shrugged, not looking up from his phone. He didn’t even bother to hide his screen when Jungwoo was joined by Taeil to look at the messages. Johnny’s charm was sharing every single detail from his life with his members, so he didn’t care if these two were equally noisy and annoying.
“We’ve been talking for like a week now? He is really nice, and pretty… no, actually. Insanely hot. God, those dimples, I get Jungwoo on a whole different level now.” Johnny listed.
“Hell yeah, dimpled boyfriends are the best!” Jungwoo cheered. And happily high-fived Johnny when he reached for him.
“What about Ten?” This question gained his attention. Johnny moved his gaze to Yuta, sitting on the couch only a few meters away, a beer bottle in his hands.
“He’s not interested,” Johnny shrugged, “He likes someone else, the last thing I want is to mess with that.” Johnny said, staring pointedly at Yuta. It only took a few seconds for Jungwoo to understand the meaning behind what Johnny said, but sadly based on Yuta’s reaction he missed the main point of that statement.
Johnny kept talking more about Kun, and the date they were about to have. Jungwoo from the corner watched as Yuta got more, and more sulky. For now, he couldn’t do much apart from waiting, hoping Yuta would get a clue. But Jungwoo had a feeling that Yuta needed to realize his own feelings first. And then face them, which Jungwoo had a feeling wouldn’t be so easy.

TEN
“Okay, so the songs are all ready. The company is still trying to schedule everything properly, but we should have some answers very soon,” Kun finished his speech as he leaned back in the chair. He waited to see if any of the members had something more to say.
It was late afternoon, when they all decided to meet up in Kun’s studio to talk about the schedule. Ten watched the rest too. Yangyang returned to his phone the second Kun stopped talking — probably to note things down. At least Ten hoped so, because Yangyang had a tendency to forge important dates, and they had to take turns sending him reminders. Hendery and Xiaojun were flirting on the other couch, which also didn’t surprise Ten, he just hoped they listened. Winwin was the only one asking follow-up questions, proving he was paying attention in the process. Bless him.
After a few seconds of silence, Ten decided it was his time to speak, he cleared his throat, gaining everyone’s attention back.
“So… since we will be at an open shooting location, Yuta will come visit.” Ten said, and he could hear several groans.
“Why?” Yangyang asked.
“Because we are dating?”
“You aren’t though. It’s fake?” Yangyang talked back. Fair point.
“How much longer will this whole act last?” This time it was Xiaojun’s voice,
“We don’t know yet, it’s not really for us to decide.”
“I think it’s nice he wants to come.” Winwin tried to butt in.
“And again, why does he have to be there?” Yangyang again.
“Because,” Kun said, his voice loud and clear, “As Ten said, they are in a public relationship. They are doing what they are supposed to be doing, and I’d appreciate everyone to stop complaining.” Kun said, suddenly pointing towards Hendery and Yangyang, “Especially the two of you, who — as a matter of fact — are the main reason Ten got in this situation in the first place.” Kun finished, looking at them, checking if someone has something to say. Ten only nodded quietly. He was right, if not these two dragging Ten to that bar, he would not be in a fake relationship now, or in any type of relationship at all. But he couldn’t say he hated the fact that this led him to meet Yuta.
“I’d be happy if you guys would at least try to like him. Because even after that ends, there is a chance we will see them more often.” Ten said, from the corner of his eye, he watched Kun getting tense.
“Why?” Hendery asked confused,
“Well. For starters. I’m friends with Jaehyun and Jungwoo. Taeil is great to be around too. Johnny is generally friendly, and I like to believe me and Yuta are friends.” Ten shrugged, Kun from the side cleared his throat, relaxing again. This was, however, something future Ten would have to figure out for sure.

YUTA
“The good news is, both albums are almost ready to release. After a meeting between both companies, we think they could be out around January.” The staff said, looking between Ten and Yuta with a smile.
Today’s meeting was mostly for organizational purposes, and consisted of staff members from both companies, Ten, Yuta and their managers. Yuta still wasn’t sure why the two of them were needed there. Album schedules didn’t really mean they had to be present. But then again. Yuta and Ten were ‘dating’, the interest in both bands had increased in the last few months of them going out. Yuta also knew the dating thing wasn’t supposed to last for long. So the album release meant—
“With that, I think you guys should break up before the release.” That exactly.
“What?” Ten breathed out.
“That’s in two months. Does your team have any ideas, how they are about to do that?” Doyoung asked from his side, but all Yuta was focused on was Ten’s surprised expression. He watched the woman that just announced the upcoming breakup with his mouth half-open, his question went unanswered, but Yuta still heard him.
“We thought that the two of them could figure something out.” Now that got Yuta’s attention.
“I’m sorry, wasn’t that all your idea? We would be fine with denying rumors 4 months ago, but no. Because the bunch of leeches, working here, wanted to get more money at our expense.” Yuta spat. He felt Doyoung tugging on his arm, it was both a warning and a way to calm him down. Ten kept quiet by his side.
“And you agreed to it.” The woman said flatly, “Two months is enough time to think, to act like the two of you are falling out. Besides, the lack of time for one another could be used to your advantage, too.” The woman shrugged. Ending the conversation.
Yuta was left speechless. Doyoung quickly passed him a note that said to just keep silent for now. Ten had a solemn expression, looking straight ahead, unmoving. Yuta didn’t like this day at all.
Taeyong and Doyoung asked more questions about comeback dates, so Yuta decided to shut up. Besides, there was one thing that Johnny said a few days before that wouldn’t leave him alone. Ten is interested in someone else. These were the exact words Johnny said. That Ten is interested in someone. So maybe the breakup would be good.
If Ten wanted a relationship with someone, it would be better to not get caught before he and Yuta ‘end’ things, right? That was the right thing to do. And he didn’t want to force Ten to stick with him for too long.
Yuta felt like his heart dropped at the thought of leaving Ten behind. But it was for the better, and they could still remain friends after that.
As Doyoung wanted, Yuta remained quiet until the meeting was done. Refusing the offer when Ten asked him to go get coffee as he was not really able to speak. Not fully ready to act like the heartache in his chest wasn’t real.
So he asked Doyoung to take him straight home. He watched as Doyoung and Taeyong exchanged gazes, and when they both nodded at each other saying their goodbyes, Doyoung led him to the exit. Ten was avoiding his gaze and Yuta tried not to care. His soul was full of feelings he needed to sort out. Not really able to figure out how to stop himself from having them.

@KingOfHeartsDAILY: apparently Kun and BTN’s Johnny were spotted together last night. The two seemed to be close. Please remember it’s just a rumor, and if you see any pictures, don’t spread them!!
@mellowfall: but… but…. Johnny and Ten 🙁
@tennyang: apparently someone saw Yuta and Ten in a café, they weren’t looking super happy 😢
@BringTheNoizeUpd: Yuta and KoH’s Ten were spotted during the weekend leaving the company alongside their managers. We don’t know what was the reason. Please don’t spread any misinformation! 🙂
@10outof10: I really hope Ten and Yuta won’t break up. I like them together 🙁
@randevouse: Yuta was definitely more smiley lately… I really hope nothing bad is going on.

TEN
“So, you and Johnny, huh?” Ten snickered, watching Kun almost drop his pen, his eyes widened looking at Ten in surprise.
“How? Who?”
“Jungwoo came over earlier, bringing coffee and the cookies you’ve been snacking on.” Ten pointed at the box. The cookies were good, Ten didn’t blame him. He was still planning on bringing some of them home, though.
They were at the studio —working and hanging out, talking about future music, and plans. Today was more relaxing, and maybe that’s what Ten needed. Or maybe he required some time with his best friend.
“Jungwoo was here? Why?”
“To talk about the breakup plan.” Ten shrugged.
“Is there any plan?” Kun moved his chair back, giving Ten his full attention.
Ten sighed, “Nope. We tried to think of something, but Yuta wasn’t really working with me, so we separated and haven’t talked in two days.”
Ten sounded bitter, he knew that. But the thing was, he couldn’t just let go of the disappointment he felt. Ten hated that this was how he felt about this whole situation, but he also couldn’t act surprised that the end is finally near. The end that he perhaps didn’t want to come. And with Kun he could just stop hiding his feelings.
“Maybe he doesn’t want to break up?” Kun suggested, and Ten snickered.
“Yeah… I don’t think so.”
“Why do you think that?” Kun asked another question. Ten almost felt like he visited his therapist. Especially with the way Kun sat in front of him — one leg on top of the other, his palms resting on his thighs, and glasses on. All that was left to complete the doctor look was a little notebook. Ten thought this could be a good topic to bring up and switch from the current one. He needed to stop talking about him and Yuta. But Ten was almost sure that would not work on Kun. He would just stare at him — a very therapist move on his end.
“He’s not interested in dating. Can we talk about you and Johnny instead?” Ten still tried to turn the topic around. He looked at Kun blushing, hoping he succeeded.
“He’s tall, and dumb. But also funny. Slightly annoying. Definitely hot. He is willing to try new things that I’m interested in.” Kun counted, and then smirked Ten’s way mischievously,
“You and I have a very similar taste, it appears,” Kun said and moved away, laughing when Ten tried to kick him from where he sat.
“The deal is almost over, we will break up , the public will move on, we will remain friends.” Ten said flatly, with a shrug, he could tell Kun didn't believe a word he said.
“You don’t become friends with your ex.”
“I don’t. But Yuta won’t be my ex. We aren’t dating. It’s not real. It’s a publicity stunt without any feelings.” Ten could feel the irritation he felt come out in his voice. Kun had to sense it too, but he wasn’t giving up, without the final word.
“Yeah, keep telling yourself that,” Kun answered casually, facing his desk again and not paying attention to Ten anymore. Annoying.
Ten tried to mirror Kun, and get back to his tasks, too. But there was a small voice in his head telling him that Kun was right. That he just tried to talk himself into believing in things that were far from the truth. Ten decided to ignore that voice for now.

@illuminatenayu: Ten and Yuta were seen running from one company to the other so many times the past few weeks. I’m worried. 😨
@KingOfHeartsDAILY: as always. Please remember to not spread rumors. Trust Ten to say what’s going on, when the time is right 😊
@BringTheNoizeUpd: Both bands prepare for a comeback, please let not assume the worst case scenario.
@tennyang: We need to try to focus on the comebacks! And supporting both bands no matter what the future holds!

TEN
It was decided that Bring The Noize will release their album by the end of January, while Ten’s band was planned to set off at the beginning of February. The companies still wanted them to break up before the first album release. And since Yuta and Ten weren’t so keen on figuring out the details for the public break up, they were yet again pushed to a meeting with representatives of both companies.
Ten thought it was annoying, and exhausting. And so did Yuta, who throughout the whole thing looked in the distance, not even sparing Ten a glance.
And in the end, nothing was finalized.
However, this time, Yuta ended up coming over to Ten’s. It was around 4pm when the meeting finally ended. Ten was honestly surprised when Yuta agreed to hang out, but never said anything. They came to Ten’s apartment, ordered food, and ended up watching Netflix, chatting and drinking between [scenes/episodes of bad reality tv]. That’s how their afternoon went.
Ten didn’t really have any complaints. Perhaps a silent night was necessary for both of them.
They were both tipsy by 10pm.
Ten doesn’t really remember what happened, there was alcohol and some deep talk, Yuta mentioned Mark, almost crying. Ten remembered Yuta thanking him for letting him talk, and that he listened.
Ten had never seen Yuta in that state, that wasn’t usually what happened when he saw Yuta drunk. He was worried, and unsure how to help, but Yuta was quick to change topics. Quickly switching the conversation to their companies not allowing them to make their own choices. Ten agreed, of course, complaining about the situation as much as Yuta.
It was around midnight when they went to sleep. Yuta once again ended up in his bedroom, and underneath Ten’s covers. That’s how they had fallen asleep.
When Ten woke up the next day, there was a glass of water next to the bed. Ten smiled, remembering how he did the same for Yuta not that long ago.
As Ten wandered around his apartment there was no sight of Yuta and Ten realized that everything from the previous night was cleaned up too. It was almost as if he wasn’t there at all, if not for the fact that his bedsheets still smelled like his perfume — the sweet scent Ten couldn’t mistake for anything else. Or how he remembered vividly holding Yuta in his arms. He could almost take it all for a dream if not for yet another note sitting on the kitchen counter, just like last time. This one was simpler, but it still made Ten smile, and the butterflies in his stomach went wild.
Hi!!! ^^
I cleaned up everything, so you don’t have to worry!
Also, Louis took a treat from me this morning, I’m counting this as a huge success.
Leon got his share too, so don’t worry.
Thank you for letting me stay at yours again,
See you later
— NaYu ^^
Ten went back to his room, once again diving under the blankets, not really feeling like being part of society just yet. He waited as Leon and Louis both made themselves comfortable by his side, before opening his laptop, all while trying to forget how it felt like having Yuta sleeping there just hours before.
Ten searched for distraction on social media first. His burner Twitter account was coming in handy. He saw a fan posting and article about Yuta’s band from 4 years ago. Ten couldn’t help the curiosity, and clicked the link.
The article was introducing the group. It started with a picture of all six of them, standing side by side, smiling. Ten’s eyes remained on Mark’s face. He looked friendly, he had to be a nice person, Ten thought.
Ten was pretty sure he never met Mark, his group started to take off only three and a half years ago, and back then Ten wasn’t really the most sociable person. It was a pity, though. Ten wondered if they would be friends if he was still alive. Against his better judgment, Ten scrolled lower. The text was light, the purpose of it was to make you feel good about the group and be interested in checking them out. Yuta, Taeil, and Mark were mainly answering questions related to writing lyrics and composing, while Jaehyun and Jungwoo were the insiders when it came to speaking of the bond they shared. Johnny mainly agreed with everything, or joked around.
Perhaps the interview showed each personality very well. It could be because Ten knew, from Yuta himself, how he felt about Mark, including the conversation from last night when he did say he thought he was in love with him, but the feelings were never reincorporated. But there was something in the interview that almost screamed that Yuta had feelings for Mark. Ten also could read in between the lines of the article. The way Yuta spoke of Mark — even though through written text — still held a lot of fondness to it. Yuta cherished Mark a lot, and this much was very obvious.
Ten didn’t like the feeling that spread in his chest. It felt heavy. Uncomfortable. He felt sad for Yuta, mostly because he didn’t deserve all the pain, whether having feelings for the wrong person, or losing a best friend due to some terrible fate. Ten silently wished he could be there for Yuta when it all happened. But he wasn’t even sure they would be friends back then.
If Ten was being honest with himself — they weren’t supposed to be friends now, either. Something that was supposed to be just a one time thing turned into a mess. Months full of lies, and feelings Ten refused to address. Ten cared about Yuta a lot. This much he was ready to admit.
Ten skimmed through the rest of the text quickly, stopping at comments. The older ones were sweet, and nice. Ten found fans describing each member, and writing down song titles that in their opinions were worth listening to, for the potential new fans.
When Ten started reading comments, saying they miss Mark, Ten once again felt his heart drop. No one deserved such an ending.
The rest was pretty much hate comments, that were mainly aimed at Yuta. Something that made Ten’s blood boil.
Some stated that it was all Yuta’s fault. Some said he was being pushy. There were few suggesting Yuta was the one making Mark take drugs. Some said they wished Mark and Yuta switched places—
Ten closed his laptop, not being able to read anymore. He felt himself shaking. He felt hot all over his body. Ten closed his eyes, trying to calm down.
“Hell is not enough for those people.” He breathed under his nose. He saw hate a lot of times. He didn’t shy away from it, even when it was also aimed at him. However, while he didn’t care about things being said about him on the internet, he surely cared about things said about people he knew and cared for. And Yuta didn’t deserve any of that nasty behavior.
Ten took a deep breath to calm down.
Maybe checking social media first thing in the morning wasn’t such a great idea.

@autumnlush: While I wasn’t so sure of them dating at first, I feel like both — Yuta and Ten seem happier together?
@tennyang: Ten posts more on socials, and he posts random covers again. He seems happy. I hope they aren’t breaking up anytime soon.
@illuminatenayu: I haven’t seen Yuta look at anyone the way he looks at Ten in a long while, or maybe I never saw him have THAT look. And it says a lot.
@10outof10: I really wish nothing but happiness for the two of them.
🎸🎸🎸
YUTA
Yuta tried to fight his feelings. He did everything to ignore them the second he realized what was happening. But similarly to the last time, he wasn’t able to do either. Ten was attractive, and talented. He was funny, considerate, and nice. He saw life in colors Yuta hasn’t seen in a while. Ten felt so different, yet so similar to him. He made Yuta feel that maybe he could fall for someone again.
He likes someone else.
The sentence Johnny said to him was ringing in his ears like a curse. Even if he had feelings for Ten, there was no point of hoping. Ten deserved better than him. And whoever he liked had to be worthy of his feelings.
It couldn’t be Yuta. Yuta was too broken, and there were too many pieces to still fix before he felt comfortable inviting Ten to be involved in his life. So Yuta cut him off.
Yuta made the decision for both of them. So Ten could be happy.

TEN
Kun:
Have you been online today?
Ten, please.
Me:
No, I just woke up. What’s going on?
Kun:
Just…
Check twitter? You should find it right away.
Taeyong:
[LINK]
Did you know about it?
Winwin:
Hi, just checking on you…
Jungwoo:
Hi Ten, so I think Yuta did something really idiotic…
“What the hell?” Ten felt the air pushed from his lungs.
Ten Lee and Nakamoto Yuta decided to go separate ways! Announces 127ent.
The headline of an article with the news was the first thing that Ten saw when he got on Twitter.
But… they didn’t talk about it? Why did Yuta do that behind his back? Why now? They were supposed to wait longer. Was this why Yuta was ignoring him the past few days? Because this was his plan? To just end everything so abruptly? And without talking…
Ten exited the article without finishing reading and picked Yuta’s number from his contacts list. He tried calling over and over, but there was no answer, so he locked his phone and threw it onto his bed.
“Yuta what did you do?” Ten asked, the question left floating in the air, unanswered. His room suddenly felt way too big, and way too empty. And yet, Ten felt suffocated. Crushing weight on his chest didn’t allow him to breathe properly. A lump in his throat made it difficult to swallow.
He got up from bed, and quickly put on clothes, picking up the keys and his phone. For now he decided to ignore Kun’s calls. He needed to talk to someone, but this someone wasn’t Kun. Not now.
Ten felt anger built up inside of him, as he tried to think what to say to Yuta once he sees him.
🎸🎸🎸
@randevouse: So apparently Ten went to 127ent building today, and he looked pretty broken :(
@autumnlush: I saw someone on Twitter talking how they have a friend working there, and they heard screaming. She recognized Yuta and Ten’s voice???
@bluerose: apparently Ten was crying as he left the company building. I swear, I’m gonna set it on fire with Yuta inside 😠
@illuminatenayu: @bluerose chill, we don’t know what happened. And break-ups suck. Yuta is probably shattered too.
@mellowfall: @illuminatenayu don’t make excuses for that traitor. HE MADE TEN CRY!
🎸🎸🎸
KUN
Kun was playing with his phone after a call with Johnny, anticipating the inevitable when the doorbell rang, making him almost run to the door.
When he opened it, Ten stood on the other side. His eyes were still red from crying, posture slouched. He was hugging himself, visibly shaking. He looked upset and heartbroken — Kun’s heart ached at the sight. He grabbed Ten’s arm pulling him inside and guided them towards the couch.
Kun sighed, wiping tears from Ten’s face.
“Now, what we won’t do is cry over men.” Kun demanded, and Ten chuckled. It wasn’t genuine, but Kun still counted it as a win, and was determined to make his friend feel just a bit better.
Five minutes later, they were still sitting in the living room, this time with tea mugs in their hands. Kun always believed that a good warm tea can make you feel better.
“Johnny said, you visited their studio today?” Kun started carefully, watching as Ten looked down on his mug,
“I wanted an explanation.” Ten whispered weakly, Kun heard sadness in his tone.
“Did you get it?” Kun asked. Ten glared at him, fully aware that Johnny probably shared with him that too, and of course he did. But because Kun was worried about Ten. He needed to know what happened, he needed Ten to speak.
“Listen, an explanation is something you have the right to, but yelling at him probably wasn’t the way to get it.”
“He was just so… Cold. I couldn’t stand it. He was silent almost the whole time.” Ten whispered, finally looking at Kun, and Kun’s heart almost broke when he saw his expression. “I… I just… snapped. I wanted answers. But all he said was, that he did the right thing, and it was for the better to just forget it ever happened, and that’s about it.”
“I’m so sorry, Tennie.”
“I should've seen it coming. It was fake, what was I thinking.” Ten whined. He hid his face behind his palm, leaning back. Kun was worried he would spill the tea all over himself and Kun’s blanket, so he took it from his hand and put it on the table. He let Ten have some time to calm down.
Kun watched Ten as he took a few deep breaths, it still sounded shaky, but Kun thought it would be helpful to share his thoughts.
“If that makes you feel any better, a lot of us thought you two would end up together. Like, really together.” Kun said. Ten peeked at him, the gaze clearly angered.
“It didn’t.” Ten said dryly.
“Sorry,” This was not a normal situation for Kun to deal with. It was far from normal. Ten sighed and sat straight again, shaking his head slowly,
“No, it’s alright. You’re right. I should stop crying because of him,” Ten said, and let out a long sigh, “I don't know what I thought would happen, really. I feel stupid.” Ten huffed.
“It’s not your fault. You got attached. I wish it didn’t end up like this thought.” Kun said truthfully. He was skeptical at first, and he tried to make the companies change their mind about this whole fake dating thing, when the idea first started, but he was helpless then. And even though Ten ended up hurt as he was afraid he would be, Kun still felt sad for him, and wished there was a way to comfort him. Kun perhaps didn’t have the answer Ten needed, but he still wanted to try his best to be there for his friend.
Kun rubbed Ten’s arm comfortingly,
“Do you want me to call the rest of the boys? We could order take-out, someone could bring beer,” Kun started, looking at Ten who looked back with curiosity in his eyes,
“We could just eat, drink, watch movies, gossip, and talk shit about the company,” Kun shrugged lightly, and Ten laughed. This time it sounded more real, Kun felt satisfied.
“I would like that, yeah.” Ten nodded, he seemed grateful. So Kun did as he said, and not even an hour later, all six of them sat down in Kun’s living room, doing the best to make Ten laugh.

@nayusuperstar: Maybe they went on a break because of the tour? Maybe they were just worried that long distance won't work? What if the company just messed up the statement? ;-;

@10outof10: Both KoH and BtN have overlapping dates for the US part of the tour 🥺 Maybe they will meet…
@autumnlush: Yuta has been spotted at bars several times now, mostly with his members, also most of the time he was with random people :) Yeah, I don’t think I want him and Ten to meet…
@tennyang: Well, Johnny and Kun will meet for sure, perhaps Ten will be around as well, although I’m not sure what I’m expecting to happen here.
@nayusuperstar: as much as I’d love for Yuta and Ten to meet, I honestly don’t think that the circumstances are right…

YUTA
All the band members had their own rooms this time around, but that didn’t stop them from picking Taeil’s space for the night hangouts, and drinking. Yuta sometimes joined too like he did tonight — he liked spending time with them. It was his group after all, not that they needed to know he enjoyed their company more than they thought he did.
It was nice, really. They just talked and laughed, reminding themselves of all the fun they had so far during the tour. When Johnny started talking about Kun, Yuta had an unsettling feeling in his stomach, that Johnny was going somewhere, especially when he mentioned the guys would be in the same cities while in the States. Including the next two days. Including today.
“We could have a meet up! All of us and Kun’s band, it sounds nice!” Johnny cheered.
Jungwoo agreed, saying he can’t wait to see Ten again. Traitor.
“Yeah, pass.” Yuta whispered, and with that silence filled the room. Johnny’s eyes pierced through him, Taeil tried to change the topic, but Johnny had a better idea, completely ignoring whatever Taeil had to say.
“You need to get over it, and talk to Ten.” Johnny’s voice was harsh when he spoke. Yuta could feel himself getting irritated.
“You see, that’s what I don’t need to do. He hates me. Things are done.”
“You are an idiot,” Johnny growled, “this whole drama wouldn’t be happening, if you only said how you feel instead of cutting him off and breaking the deal on your own accord.” Johnny was getting angry, but Yuta wasn’t one to let go either, he rolled his eyes and him.
“What do you know about it?” Yuta spat, the air around them tense.
“More than you, apparently,”
“Guys—” Jaehyun tried to break the fight, but neither Johnny nor Yuta was about to back away now,
Yuta scoffed, his eyes throwing daggers at Johnny,
“Enlighten me then.”
“There is someone who cares for you, you pushed him away. Why can’t you get through your thick skull that he likes you? Why can’t you understand that your feeling are reincorporated, unlike when you were in love with—”
“Johnny!” Taeil’s voice rang, loud and angry. Johnny’s eyes looked between them before he whispered a quick sorry, and rushed out the door.
The room became suffocating. Yuta’s heart pounding painfully in his chest. Yuta got up quickly, making his way out, hoping Johnny was no where insight.
“Where are you going?” Jaehyun asked from where he was sitting, worry in his voice. He looked at his friends who all looked the same, full of sadness and pity, and Yuta couldn’t stand it. Not now.
“I need fresh air.” He muttered and left, shutting the door behind him.
His feet led him to a park near the hotel. Not really feeling like wandering far, Yuta sat on a bench. There weren't many people there, and it was pretty dark. Yuta should be safe.
It was chilly outside, the wind helping him sober up, and he could feel his mind becoming clearer, finally calming down after the argument.
It was four versus one, even if Johnny was the only one talking — Yuta was aware of that. He still remembered Ten yelling at him, anger in his voice and eyes filled with tears, and Yuta just couldn’t speak. If Ten hating him was what made it all better, then so be it. Ten liked someone, and Yuta didn’t want to stand between them. Ten deserved to be happy, and Ten deserved better than Yuta.
Yuta wasn’t sure how long he sat there, he was lost in thoughts looking anywhere, when a message notification rang. Yuta sighed, checking his phone.
Taeil:
Get your ass back to my room.
Boys all left…
Yuta’s breath came out as a shudder, but he got up, feeling the cold getting through his jacket. He was going to go back to the hotel anyway, he thought. As Taeil wanted, Yuta listened and his steps led to Taeil’s room.
Taeil invited him inside, and Yuta entered without saying anything, suddenly freezing in the spot. Johnny stood there in the middle, looking apologetic. Yuta would have turned around if it wasn’t for Taeil standing right behind him, pushing him to walk deeper into the room. Yuta huffed and sat on the bed, completely ignoring Johnny’s attempts to reach out to him.
“I want you to talk. I need Johnny to talk and you to listen, okay?” Taeil demanded, pointing at each of them. His voice was stern — he definitely wasn't about to listen to Yuta’s excuses as to why he didn’t want to listen to Johnny. So Yuta obeyed, nodding as his answer.
Johnny cleared his throat, “Firstly, I’m sorry about mentioning Mark this way. I should not bring that back.” Johnny looked at his hands. Yuta heard the genuineness in his voice, he wanted to say it’s okay, but he still didn’t feel that way, not really.
“Second, and you won’t like it,” Johnny started, “I really think you should talk to Ten and fix it.”
“And why would I do that?” Yuta said, his voice came out raspy,
“Because he was your chance to be happy, but you fucked it up.” Johnny reasoned, and Yuta rolled his eyes in disbelief, how was this still a topic?
“You said he was interested in someone else, why would I go and try to fuck it up?” Yuta answered and watched Johnny’s gaze harden. There was a pause, and the two of them just looked at each other. Johnny appeared annoyed, and Yuta was confused. Finally, Johnny let out a deep exhale, closing his eyes for a moment.
“I meant you . You idiot . Did the hair bleach do something to your brain too?” Johnny deadpanned, and it was like someone poured a bucket of cold water over him. Yuta’s heartbeat picked up, there was a storm in his brain, as he tried to figure out what Johnny was saying. Him? Ten was interested in him?
“But? How?” Yuta mumbled, getting up to his feet. The shock slowly passed and he rubbed his face a few times making sure he’s not dreaming. Yuta blinked rapidly looking at Johnny and then Taeil making sure it’s not a joke.
“I’m not gonna tell you. He is literally in the same city as we speak. You can go ask him yourself.”
“Oh, I fucked up.” Yuta, said breathlessly, “Fuck. Shit.” Yuta was pacing now, his palms in his hair, pulling on the strands.
“They are at the Double Arc Hotel.” Johnny’s voice got through. Yuta stopped and looked his way.
“Ten minute walk, five if you run.” Johnny continued, looking at his phone, then looked back at Yuta.
“It’s one am, isn’t it better to just wait?” Taeil opposed, knowing fully well where this was going, But Yuta shook his head, disagreeing. He needed to see Ten. It was important.
His body suddenly was filled with hope, he stepped closer to Johnny,
“Kun and Ten are on a walk. Kun texted me and said they’re slowly making their way back. They will slow down if you leave now, so you can meet them in front of the lobby.” Johnny said, hiding his phone.
That was the moment Yuta made the decision. And before he started to overthink, whether he really should see Ten, or let Ten move on and forget about him, Yuta grabbed his phone and rushed out the door. He tried to act cool while still in the building, repeating in his brain to just go there and talk to Ten, apologize. Beg. Anything . Trying not to back out of wanting to see him. The hope to fix it was suddenly way louder in his heart than ever.
Even if Ten was to reject him, Yuta at least could move on too. Get the closure or whatever he needed. He screwed up once, not letting Ten make his own decision. He didn’t want to do it again. Yuta would try his best, if Ten was about to tell him to back off, and leave him alone, so be it.
The second Yuta was outside, he started to run. He could feel his lungs burn soon enough, his body begged for him to stop, but Yuta couldn’t do it. He could hear what sounded like thunder from far away, or maybe it was the city noise, he couldn’t say. But it wasn’t important. The important part was the fact he was close. He could see the neon sign of the hotel from far away. Almost there. He thought.
He saw them a few meters away, the sight startling him to a stop. Yuta watched Ten and Kun for a few seconds, and then he proceeded to walk, still out of breath, fear slowly peeking in his mind. Kun spotted him first, stopping momentarily. Ten followed his friend’s gaze, his eyes widening when he realized Yuta was approaching them. Kun sent him an encouraging smile, and stepped back. Ten looked confused between them wanting to go with Kun, but Kun only shrugged and pointed at Yuta.
He could hear Kun whispering “your chance” to him, before he left, going inside the building, leaving him and Ten alone on the sidewalk. Ten crossed his arms on his chest, looking at him expectantly.
“Hi,” Yuta breathed, feeling anxious all of a sudden. Ten licked his lips, looking around. There were a lot of people watching them, the chances of being recognized were big. Yuta watched as Ten exhaled, finally looking back at him.
“Let’s go somewhere else to talk.” Ten murmured and went in the same direction that he and Kun came from just moments ago. Yuta followed quickly behind, grateful when Ten slowed down, probably realizing Yuta still had trouble catching his breath.
Yuta really should reconsider the jogging invitation Jungwoo gave him days ago, he could use it.
The park alley was very long, they were just walking in silence. If not for how scared he was, Yuta probably would try to look around, get to know his surroundings. Now however, all he could focus on was Ten walking in front of him, not even glancing his way once.
Ten led them to a small gazebo far deep into the park. It was quiet there, and it was private. It seemed peaceful, and far from the sidewalk for no one to hear what they would say.
For a while they were just standing there, Ten with his arms still on his chest, watching him with questions in his eyes. Yuta took a deep breath, trying to calm down his rushing heart.
Now or never. Yuta guessed.
“I’m in love with you. Okay? I’m… I love you.” Yuta sputtered. Ten seemed unmoved, if it wasn’t for a small shudder going through him.
“I’m sorry I made my company release the statement. I’m sorry I didn’t talk to you. I know I should. It was stupid of me to push you away. You didn’t deserve any of it.” Yuta’s body was now shaking too. He wasn’t good at confessions, it was terrifying. It was making him want to run and hide.
“Then why?” Ten asked. There was a waver in his voice, giving away his emotions.
“Because… because Johnny told me you were interested in someone, and you deserve better than me.”
“What?”
“Back when he tried to hit on you, he… he said you liked someone else,” Yuta said. Ten looked at him with an unreadable expression. His arms finally dropping to his sides, he let out a breathy laugh. Yuta couldn’t figure out what it meant. Ten closed his eyes, shaking his head before he exhaled, looking at Yuta, finally stepping closer.
“You idiot.” Ten whispered. It sounded soft. Fond . “I meant you. I was falling for you.” Ten said, pushing him gently. Yuta froze.
“Me? But… why?”
“Are you serious?” Ten’s voice rose an octave higher, in disbelief.
“Because you’re funny, sweet, full of love even if you don’t like to show it to the world, I saw it. In the way you treat your members, fans when they deserve it. Me. Yuta I- it was so easy to fall for you. Under all these walls there is an amazing person. You’re easy to love.” Ten listed, his eyes filling with tears. Yuta felt a ping in his chest, tears burning under his eyelids as well.
“Please give me one last chance.” Yuta stepped closer, still keeping his distance, too scared Ten would push back. “I promise to inform you next time I want to break up.” Yuta said the last part jokingly. Ten punched him, but laughed,
“Ouch,” Yuta dramatically winced in pain, massaging his arm when Ten’s fist hit him. Ten had a soft smile on his lips as he stepped closer, welcomed in Yuta’s personal space. Yuta put his hands on Ten’s waist, pulling him closer. Yuta’s heart did a flip when Ten let him do that and was still smiling.
“I promise I will work hard to not fuck up again. And be a proper boyfriend.” Yuta whispered as he leaned his head against Ten’s forehead.
“You were doing well, in the fake relationship. I have no doubt the real one will work too. It would be even better.” Ten said, his palms resting on his chest. Yuta wondered if Ten could feel his fast beating heart. Probably he could.
Ten leaned closer, their lips almost touching… Yuta could feel Ten’s hot breath against his skin.
Ten finally closed the gap between them, and Yuta gasped softly, quick to kiss back. At that moment it started to rain around them, but they didn’t mind, there was so much wasted time they needed to catch up with too. Only when the kisses started to get more hungry and needy, they decided to change locations.
They ran through the trees, laughing, getting drenched without much care about it. Yuta didn’t let go of Ten’s hand even for a moment.
When they reached Ten’s room, they couldn’t let go of each other, hands wandering on every part of each other’s body, starving for more, clothes quickly got dropped all around the room. When they finally reached Ten’s bed, and Yuta’s back hit the mattress, feeling Ten’s body on top of him, Yuta realized how much he missed this.
In between heavy breaths, giggles, moans, sloppy kisses and Ten’s skin against Yuta’s.
Yuta felt like this was where he belonged. Right with Ten.
