Chapter Text
“Hello” -speaking
(hello) - thinking
*hello*- rotom phone convo
Pain…darkness… That's all he felt, all he could see. He felt a large amount of pressure on his chest like a slowpoke was sitting on it.
Trying to move around he felt like he had been paralyzed by one of the lab's pokemon… “Giaaaas!!!” he heard faintly, registering that one of the Miraidon had to be nearby.
(I hope it's the friendlier one) he thinks as he starts to fall deeper into unconsciousness.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~time skip to him waking up~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
He grits his teeth as he tries to sit up, feeling a sharp pain in his chest as well as in his upper leg. While struggling to keep his breath, he opens his eyes gasping in pain as he does so
Everything is in ruins… his work… the pokemon… the lab… crushed by the Iron Tread getting out and running rampant.
(I hope all is fine with the Miraidon.) As the man realizes the extent of his injuries, he cries out in pain to let the A.I. know he is still alive and breathing. He tries to sit up as his robot self pushes him back down.
“You need to remain still!" the robot exclaimed. “You don't want to make healing take longer than it has to, and even then, you probably won't fully recover.”
The injured professor was groaning in pain as he started to register the excruciating pain in his leg. The TuroBot gently carried him to a bed that miraculously withstood the Iron Treads' rampage.
"The rotom phones are currently down and you're in shock and not thinking clearly. You are also on several potions to try and help the pain that you're in."
The professor awoke, something felt... off. He couldn’t remember what had happened. He started sitting up as flashes of memory passed by him.
Calling out for the bot, he asked stumbling over his words "wh-wh't happ'nd?
The bot explained. "You fell into a small coma due to your injuries. While you were unconscious Miraidon and I fixed everything we could... we tried to save your leg but it was completely crushed. 1'm....s0rry…
The professor felt shocked. He had lost his leg. What was going to happen now? They were completely trapped where almost no one could find them and communication with outside the crater was down.
"How long was I out?" the professor asked noticing that he didn't feel as much pain as before.
"two months" the bot replied "I wasn't certain you would wake up…. I was trying to work on communication with director Clavell. Unfortunately, all there is at the moment is static."
Groaning, the professor sits up asking. “Can you bring me to the communication center? I want to see if there is anything I can do.”
“you need to be resting, you're still recovering.” the bot replied
“Recovering isn't going to help me if we die down here”
“And if you dont recover you will die down here before we can be rescued, I will keep working on the communication systems to see if we can get in contact with Clavell.” the bot stated firmly “you will get some more rest and then we can see about you helping later.”
“I regret making you” Professor Turo stated petulantly, crossing his arms.
“No you don’t” the A.I. stated smirking
Turo sighed. “Your right, at least I have you around to keep me company.” lying down the man drifted off to sleep as the A.I. added more meds to his I.V.
The A.I. turned to the COM system to try to get it working but it was completely fried. (This is going to take a lot of work) the bot thought to himself.
The original device took around 3 years to finish and develop while deep within Area Zero. This time they have very little equipment, and only one person… or A.I., in this case, to put it together.
The A.I., once realizing how long the COM system would take, decided to try and make a way for the Professor to move around. I.E. trying to make a suitable prosthetic leg.
Taking inventory of what materials they had he realized the food transport still worked. It was set to deliver a month's worth of food at a time as the professor didn't want his research to be disturbed.
Other than food, they had a fair amount of materials that would be useful in fixing the COMs In addition, there was enough scraps left from the wreckage to make the beginnings of a prosthetic. The bot decided to keep this a secret from the professor at the moment as he didn't want to get his hopes up.
Waking up again the stubborn man decides to get up and hobble over to a desk. He hopes that his A.I. self doesn't come into the room he Sits in a rolling chair, which gives him a sense of relief that he can at least wheel himself around. Even if it's just a minimal amount.
Hoping that he can still access his documents, he opens his PC only to find it dead. Annoyed, he realizes that the cord has been unplugged.
Struggling to plug it back in he falls off the chair groaning in pain. He manages to plug the PC in and tries to stand up, only to fall again as he doesn't have enough balance with only one leg. Knocking something off the desk it makes a crash as it hits the ground alerting the bot to his movements.
The bot comes walking into the room and stops in front of him looking down. "I th0ught 1 to1d y0u to stay 1n b3d" the bot said sounding exasperated.
"you did... but I wanted to start working on fixing this place" Turo responded. "I can rest later. I've been asleep for two months and I have rested long enough so I will be helping. Besides I was trying to sit down.” he said laughing.
The bot made what sounded like a sigh. “Well aS mY cReAt0r y0u sh0u1d hAve mAde 1t s0 1 haVe t0 1isTen t0 y0u tHen.” while picking the professor up and putting him back on the bed.
The professor pouted and mumbled about annoying robot versions of themselves.
The professor sitting on the bed asked. “Can you at least move the desk closer to the bed so I can help the best I can? I don’t want to be stuck here forever.”
The bot agreed to move the desk closer to the professor. The A.I. told the man. “AftEr y0u g3t m0re s1eep, th3n w3 cAn ta1k ab0ut y0u g3tt1ng w0rk d0ne.
As the professor drifts off to sleep he starts tossing and turning panicking about the loss of his leg. He didn't know what to do. Tears filled his eyes as he thought of all of the things he had already missed out on and the many more that he would miss. Thoughts of running around with his Pokemon, or playing catch with his son. Being trapped down here made him realize how he had abandoned Arven his son and how if he made it out of here what he would do to fix it.
He was determined to fix it… he just needed to figure out how
