Chapter 1: Evil Greedy Selfish
Chapter Text
It was the day after Thanksgiving 2022, and Isis was trying to buy something off Amazon to send to some popular YouTube group she speaks to online. It was hard because only one copy existed and she wanted to wait until the group returned from their holiday with their families.
Sighing, the soon to be 29 year old placed her phone on her bed and went to finish her chores. You see, since she was pressured into attending college Isis was stuck living with her mom and stepfather due to student loans. She works a part time job that helps with monthly payments, but she has be Cinderella 24/7 if she wanted to live in the house rent free. As she worked, Isis had her mind transport itself into the world of the cartoon she's hooked on:
Sherlock Holmes in the 22nd Century.
She loves the 90s vibe of the cartoon designs and effects from her childhood. The episodes were even inspired or based on the exact cases from the Sherlock Holmes stories. Although, once again Isis found it unfair that a fictional character is much more attractive than a person in reality because, damn did she have it bad for Sherlock. Being a Sherlock Holmes fan, if anything Sherlock related came around you can bet Isis would delve into it!
Wrapping up the last chore for the day, Isis looked at the nearest thing that had the time displayed. Seeing it was just past 2 pm, Isis knew she had enough time to shower and change before her parents get home. They were going out with some friends, but her stepfather was making her go with them. Basically threatening to kick her out and make her homeless if she doesn't do what he says.
After about an hour of cleaning herself up, Isis stood in front of her bathroom mirror. Her wavy, dark brown hair was free and reaching past her shoulders. Her blue eyes with glasses checking to see if there were any discrepancies of her casual short-sleeved tee and dark blue jeans. Seeing nothing wrong, Isis walked back into her adjoining bedroom to grab her purse, phone, earphones, and her hoodie.
Her parents 3 dogs started barking as she heard her step dad's truck rev in the driveway as he pulled up to the house. With a grimace, Isis grabbed everything she needed before walking out her room to head out the front door.
As soon as her stepfather pulled up in front of the local bar, Isis immediately hopped out before he put the car in park. Almost as soon as she entered the car, the stepfather was asking random questions about Sherlock Holmes. This was immediate red flag for Isis because he never showed interest in anything nerdy before, especially anything Sherlock Holmes themed. Now he wants to know the World's Greatest Detective from her? Isis wanted out of that truck ASAP!
Going into the pub, she quickly greeted her mom and step dad's friends before excusing to got to the bathroom. Once in the bathroom, she immediately locked the door and whipped out her phone. Quickly accessing the free WiFi, Isis immediately went to the chat room app and entered the room where she would talk to online friends.
'If you are reading this,' she typed. 'And I don't update within the next hour, please send police to *address* because I think something bad is about to happen to me. Important Notes: stepfather is abusive and manipulative, treats me like shit in private and disapproves anything nerdy I like. Sudden interest in Sherlock Holmes, which I am a nerd of, and seems to be scared/panicked while driving to *address*. This is NOT A JOKE! My life is in danger!'
After posting the message, she put her phone away and walked out of the bathroom...
Only to be pulled into the supply closet by a set of arms. She tried to struggle, but the arms were stronger. When she got a good look at who was in the closet, her heart stopped.
Professor James Moriarty was in front of her!
Cleaning her neck, she was pissed to see that it was her stepfather who was holding her captive. Isis tried to escape, but to no avail.
"So this is your eldest child?" Isis looked at Moriarty when he spoke then back at her mother's bastard of a husband. They know each other? How did asshole get in contact with the cartoon variant of Holmes nemesis?!
"She's yours to experiment on." Her stepfather told him. "As long as you clear all my debt."
What debt is he-wait, he's illegally selling me to this dick?
"I always keep my word." Moriarty said, then pulls out two huge wads of cash. "These should suffice."
Moriarty tossed the money to the stepfather, who pushed Isis towards him. She tries to get away, but is pulled back by her idol's enemy. He activated a button that opened a portal and pushed her through.
"Oof!" Isis groaned as she landed a hard floor. Looking up, she sees Moriarty walk through the portal. "No!" She screamed as she scrambled back to her feet and tried to jump through it.
Moriarty catches her and laughs as he closed the portal while watching her fear increase. "Sorry, my dear, but you now belong to me."
Isis managed to escape his hold by stomping on his foot hard. Once getting a proper distance from the villain, she looked around and recognized the secret lair in the London Underground from Sherlock Holmes in the 22nd Century.
Looking back to the main antagonist, Isis asked "How did you contact my universe?"
Moriarty smirks. "A simple universal code I stole from a local scientist who believed to found a way to access different Multiverses." He explained. "Believe my surprise when I found yours labeled as Prime. Your stepfather contacted me by mistake and told me how he wanted you gone so he has a chance to get rich. Also, promised to hand you over if I pay him what he owes to some debt collectors."
Isis shook her head, fear flowing her body's need to escape. Which she tried to do...
Only to be stunned in the back.
She fell forward and hit her head hard. Before blacking out, she told Moriarty, "The day you believe to have truly won will be the day when you lose I will be there to say so." Isis fell unconscious after that, but not without flipping the bird at the 19th century villain.
Chapter 2: Escape and New Siblings
Summary:
Moriarty w/help from Fenwick has done series of experiments on our OFC with use of huge cryptnosis sessions. Didn't factor in that Isis might not have a normal brain like everyone else. This helps her escape after another experiment was done on her and flees into the crowds of London. With her special abilities, Isis can hide in plain sight, but needs help getting around the area. Guess who was around for that!
Notes:
Autism: a developmental disability that affects the functions of the brain for communication, socialization, etc. Someone with Autism thinks and views things differently than a normal person would. Any actions done is usually done within the person's interest, repetitive in one's routine, or something that disturbs their safe zone.

Chapter Text
Isis has no idea how long she had been held captive and used for Moriarty's sick experiments. When she awoken after being stunned, her first day began with being chained to a cryptnosis chair with Fenwick, the one who brought back Moriarty and was the right hand man, at the controls laughing as he activated the machine. It rendered unconscious, but when she woke up only to be in a dark cell that it dawned on her that the machine failed to work on her.
Seems like Stepfather never mentioned that Isis has Autism.
Due to her brain functions being much different from a normal brain, Isis quickly understood that the cryptnosis machine only works on brains that never had Autism Basically, her different brain can repel what normal brains can't. This gave her an opportunity to gather information until she can break out.
Now she is playing the part of a mindless zombie as she follows Fenwick with two thugs flanking her. The path they are taking is the one she knows very well and knew that they have another sinister experiment to put her through. Isis made a mental list of what they had done so far:
-Telekinesis
-Empath
-Enhanced IQ
-Increased understanding and creating technology
-Slight healing factor
Each of these experiments end with another attempt of brainwashing, but she would pretend it had some effect on her to through them off. Not to mention she has been keeping track on how things are done in the lair and found out where they kept her stuff locked up.
After so long, Isis had a plan to escape, but it has to happen in between the daily torture she has to go through. This is a routine she would most definitely love to break!
As the entered the lab, Fenwick gestured towards the operating table. "On the table." He ordered, then turned to the thugs. "Make sure we are not disturbed."
The thugs left the room and Isis was once again thanking Heaven that Moriarty let her wear a shirt and sweat pants with sneakers and not those revealing hospital gowns. She got on the table and laid down. Fenwick strapped her in, then went to prep the monitors for what's about to happen. Isis remained calm, keeping up the facade of the mindless super soldier.
Fenwick came back into view, but had a vial and syringe in his hands. "Hope you are ready for this one, little soldier." He said with a mad grin. "This test is going to be more of an animalistic nature."
Isis racked her brain and recalled the episode of when Sherlock Holmes discover a man turned into a bipedal tiger by his traitorous partner and friend. If Fenwick was implying it's the same formula, then how did he get it?!
She was so lost in thought, Isis didn't notice that the mad doctor had finished prepping and had injected her with the serum. It felt like her body was on fire, and every nerve was going crazy. Isis screamed and then started convulsing as her DNA was rewritten. Fenwick tried to stop it, but it was too late for Isis had passed out and stopped moving. Fearing that he killed their best subject, Fenwick released the restraints and went to check for any sign of a pulse.
Isis punched him and sent him flying into the monitors. She had faked convulsing and unconscious to sike out Fenwick. It worked and she was free to begin her escape. Hopping off the table, Isis went to the monitors and began to remove the hard drives from the connected computers. Seeing a lab coat, she quickly grabbed and used it as an improvised sack to carry the drives. Once they were secured, Isis went to the nearest vent and tore it off its hinges. Best thing about having enhanced IQ is knowing immediately what you can do. Having her nails extend into claws, Isis scaled the wall and tossed the sack in before climbing into the vent after it.
Crawling through the vents, she followed the path towards a time-lock room with her items. Breaking into the room via vent, Isis jumped down and quickly took her phone, earphones, clothes, and purse from the table they were on. Knowing she won't have much time left, our girl quickly shoved everything into the vent and climbed back into it. She continued dragging her items as she crawled to the vent that was closer to the underground railways. Once there, Isis used her new animal senses to find enemies. There was only one guard and it was a robot, which she jumped from the vent and attacked it with her new claws. Once completely destroyed, Isis overrode the security panel and had the door to the underground tunnels open.
Alarms started to blare, signaling it was time to get out of there. Isis quickly retrieved her stuff and used her new speed to run very fast down the abandoned underground. When the sound of alarms had begun to fade, Isis used her senses to see in the dark and saw an old entrance leading up to the city. Making the final dash, she jumped onto the platform and up the stairs to freedom.
Isis was walking down one of the many streets of 22nd Century London, England in her own clothes as she looked for a place to eat. She had found a place to hide for awhile, then went to the nearest cyber cafe to back her identity into this universe. Now she had just got back from the bank after converting her cash into credits and was happy to know that her dollars and coins were considered relics and had some value. With some decent credits at the ready, Isis was looking for food as it was starting to get dark.
Hearing a beep, Isis looked behind her and prevented a smile. Tennyson had approached her and was going to try to hustle or hack her only device. He beeped in what she knew as binary code and answered him.
"Yeah, I was wondering if there is any decent food around here." He looked shock and beeps some code. "I do! Watched some shows in movies involving a sassy droid who would talk in only binary. Don't speak it, but can understand it pretty well."
He beeped some more and Isis smiled. "If your friends took the time to learn it, they are practically family at this point." She softly laughed at Tennyson's bashful look. "Hey, how about you get your friends and show me where they have some good food around here. I will pay for the four of us if you lot are hungry."
Tennyson happily beeped and she followed him to the end of the street where she two familiar faces.
"What's this about free food, Tenn?" Wiggins asked .
"Yeah, and who's the lady you brought?" Deidre asked.
Tennyson beeped some codes and they looked shock that this lady could understand him, then offered to buy them some meals. "Are you for real?" Wiggins looked at Isis. "You actually understand him?"
Isis nodded. "You, and I am guessing you two are the friends he mentioned." At their nod, she continued. "Listen, I had a rough couple of weeks due to someone jacking my passport. I'm stuck here until I find a way home. I just got most of my stuff back, but I am still new to London. Can you guys help me out?"
Deidre was quick to respond. "We can help. We know this city inside and out!"
Isis gave the trio a genuine smile of relief. " You have no clue how much that means to me." She said. "Now who's hungry? I wasn't kidding about the food."
They all laughed and went to chip shop that was a couple blocks down. The teen trio went in ahead, but Isis stopped when she overheard people talking about who crime was starting to slowly rise. It was then Isis realized that she had arrived before the first season. Going into the shop, Isis began to place orders and talk with the teens with one thought in mind:
She will help Sherlock Holmes and ensure the James Moriarty and his accomplices will be defeated.
Notes:
I grew up having Autism and I still struggle with it because no one either takes it seriously, doesn't try to understand and help, or just think I'm lazy and useless. I am far from that and I am having my OFC have what I have been struggling with because there are very few fanfics that talk about autism. I want to be one of the few who makes someone with Autism be a hero in their story. We are one, and are never truly alone!
Chapter 3: Good Samaritan or Vigilante
Summary:
So Isis meets Lestrade in a way that would have sent her to the Yard, but ends making a new friend and ally against crime instead. Also, if you have seen the cartoon, you know what Watson is like before scanning the original's journal.
Chapter Text
It has been about 5 months since Isis escaped from Moriarty. Five months since befriending and basically adopting the Irregulars as her new siblings. She still has no clue on the timeframe of her arrival to this universe, but she will make the best of it.
Keeping her abilities a secret from the kids hurt Isis heart, but until they meet Sherlock and become the group she knows of it would be best to keep quiet. Speaking of abilities, she had been trying to find out how Moriarty and Fenwick got that animal serum. She knew from a episode that it wasn't safe and turn a poor man into walking, talking tiger. Somehow, the two villains found a way to stabilize it and have the one with the animal DNA to be able to use said animal abilities, also the ability to become a walking, talking creature themselves. The animal DNA they used on her was one of a Gray Wolf. From what she had practiced, Isis can turn her nails into claws at will, wolf eyes for enhanced sight, turn her ears into a wolf's for more enhanced hearing, has increased strength and speed which becomes more powerful when fully morphed, and having sharp teeth at will as an extra defense mechanism.
She can also spout a tail at will and she loves it because she thought it was cute.
As for where she is staying, Isis has been hiding in the abandoned 221B Baker Street aka Sherlock Holmes Museum. When she wasn't tacking down answers, the fangirl would be doing some renovations like replacing the floorboards and repairing the ceiling. The money she has is stored underneath a loose floorboard in Dr. John Watson's old room for emergencies. Money for renovations she makes from singing and playing instruments on the streets or wherever she can get a paying gig. Isis also has been putting money aside as she tries to find a way to somehow buy the place. She learned to play when she found Sherlock's violin in a display case that wasn't even locked. Learning by playing along to some songs she has on her phone, Isis first instrument to learn was the violin. Of course, she polished and tuned it before putting it back so the detective can use it once more.
She would go to an instrument shop after that and self-taught herself to play a variety of others. Isis got lucky when she found an abandoned guitar in the back of the store. After some repairs, she was playing and singing to wherever and whoever will give some credits to her.
When not doing this, Isis would either spend time with the kids or play vigilante in hopes to uncover more of the criminal activity in London. She had saved countless civilians and neighborhoods from secret gangs and corrupted figureheads that many would keep her appearance their little secret. It was during one of those vigilante days that she met another set of characters that would be part of the main story.
Isis was hiding in a vent, overlooking a secret meeting and recording the attendees. She had heard a rumor of someone abducting children in a certain area of the city. She went to investigate and found the main location. Seeing that people were entering the place, Isis didn't have time to scout the area and used her abilities to infiltrate the building. Hence, why she was hiding and recording the meeting.
When one of them mentioned where they were keeping the kids and what they planned to do to them, Isis was about to leave when it happened. The door broke down and she stopped the recording so she wouldn't get Detective Beth Lestrade and her compudroid Watson on video. Whole everybody was distracted, Isis broke out of the vent and joined the fight, taking down an abductor trying to sneak up behind Lestrade.
She whipped her ionizer around and pointed it at her, but she ducked in time for her to the enemy instead. "Nice shot!"Isis shouted over the chaos. "I know where the have the kids and what they were planning. The sooner we end this the sooner the kids are free!"
"Who are you?!" Lestrade demanded, continuing fire at the enemies. "Are you one of them?"
Isis dodged several blasts before incapacitating another enemy. "Hell no! I rather drink alcohol than work with these assailed!" She exclaimed as she went for another one. "I heard rumors of missing children and came to investigate!"
Soon the fight was over and the two women were regaining their breath. Watson came over and looked at Isis. "Scan showing nothing on profile." He stated. "Contacting-"
Reacting quickly, Isis used telekinesis to turn Watson off before calling Scotland Yard. Unfortunately, in her haste Isis forgot that Lestrade was still looking at the two and had saw the whole thing.
"Who are you? What did you do to Watson?" Lestrade questioned, pointing her blaster at the other woman.
Isis held up the video and pressed play, drawing Lestrade's attention. When the video was done, Isis finally responded. "I will explain everything after you rescue the kids. The video will be sent directly to you and you can claim as a possible source to rely on." Lowering her hand putting her device away, Isis turned to leave. "I am not the enemy detective, but I will explain everything off the record at a place and time of my choice. Just trust that I a victim who is helping others in need."
With that she left the room, hearing Lestrade move towards Watson to reboot him.
A few days later, Isis was in a cafe sitting across from Lestrade. She told the detective how she was abducted from another century and forced to undergo experimentation for months on end. Leaving out certain names, Isis admits she is afraid of saying the names out loud unless they have spies nearby.
After all was said, Lestrade leaned forward with her hands massaging the sides of her head. "So you are a woman from the 21st century of possibly another universe a and are stuck here?" She asked.
Isis hummed an affirmative. "Well," Lestrade sighed. "I guess there is nothing I can do. Can't really arrest someone who doesn't actually exist."
Isis giggled at that. "True, but doesn't mean we can't be friends nor help each other out." She points out."Plus I could use someone to help me learn how to blend in law wise around here."
Thinking about it, Lestrade gave her answer. "Well, I do need a friend so my family can off my back about not having one." They both laughed at that. "Also I can help and supervise you so you can integrate with the 22nd Century better."
"So we have a deal?"
"Deal. Call me Beth."
"Name's Isis"
Chapter 4: Meeting World's Greatest Detective
Summary:
After nearly a year in the universe, Isis has adapted to the world! She even managed to get a chance to live at Baker Street to renovate the building as best as she could. One night, Isis got a message from Lestrade that Fenwick was breaking into the building. The moment she was waiting for has come! And when Sherlock came back he... was trying to flirt with her?
Chapter Text
A year has gone by and crime has gotten to the point where Isis knew it was almost time. Almost time for the return for Sherlock Holmes and she was going to help him in anyway she could. Not to mention she has a growing sibling relationship with Lestrade. Isis was grateful for Lestrade, or Beth as she insisted, to help her adjust. What really sealed the trust she has in the future detective was where Isis was living now.
Isis stood looking at the building, dumbfounded and speechless. Beth laughed at her friend's expression. "I told you!" She said, laughing. "You didn't believe me when I said I got permission to let you work here. Your face! You look...!" The detective couldn't stop laughing and laughed harder when her friend fell onto her butt in shock.
It took a moment for her brain to reboot, but Isis managed to comprehend what was happening: Her new best friend, Detective Beth Lestrade, got the permission needed for Isis to live on sight of 221B Baker Street to renovate it. She will admit that she doubted her new friend would be able to get the okay from the right people. Now, all Isis wanted to do was hug the laughing detective and thank her
Which she did.
Beth managed to contain her laughter when she realized Isis was hugging her. She returned the hug and smiled at the soft 'thank you' her friend gave her. Breaking the hug, Isis pulled Beth by her hand towards the front door.
"Come on! I want to show you what I have planned and got done so far!"
Now Isis was legally living in Baker Street until renovations were done, but she didn't have to worry about being an illegal squatter anymore. At this moment, Isis was in what was the curator office, which she turned into her bedroom/study. She had finished with the physical repairs of the second floor that day and was spending the evening inventing something she remembered from a movie. The hard drives she stole from Moriarty and Fenwick she had managed to extract all their information before destroying them once she had the info in a safe place.
Stepping away from her project, Isis stretched and went to the bathroom adjacent from her from. She freshen up and decided to see if the kids or Beth want to go out for dinner. Seeing the bathroom mirror, Isis took quite moment to look at herself.
Her normal long brown hair was now cut short and a silver color due to the animal DNA. Her light blue eyes had a tinge of silver as well. Her pale skin had become more toned and shows some muscle after what she had been through the last year. Height was the same and her personality was not drastically changed except she's slightly triggered easily if someone messes with her or those she keeps close.
Her phone made a text alert and she pulled it out of one of the pockets of the cargo pants she was wearing. Seeing it was from Beth, Isis unlocked it.
B_Sis: Fenwick breaking in! B careful!
Isis put her phone back in its pocket before bolting out of the bathroom and into her room. Once inside, she grabbed her collapsible bo staff(Thank You Robin!) and threw on her hoodie over the workout bra she was wearing. Hearing a crash, Isis didn't bother zipping it up and was thankful she was already wearing the combat boots she bought recently.
Running out with staff in hand, Isis made it to the staircase and saw Fenwick running towards the door... WITH MORIARTY'S OLD DISGUISE! "Get back here, asshole!" She yelled, having her staff extended and sliding down the banister to get to the front door.
Fenwick looked back and she saw a glimpse of fear in his eyes when he realized who was behind him. He gave a scream of fear and bolt out the front door. Isis followed after him and saw Beth coming over with Watson as Fenwick made an attempt to escape.
"Scotland Yard, freeze!" Beth yelled. "After him!"
"No need to tell me twice!" Isis yelled as she was already running ahead, staff retracted and stowed in her hoodie for later.
The trio chased Fenwick several blocks before coming to an entrance to the underground. Beth took a shot, but the iron of the entrance blocked the electric current from stunning Fenwick. The saw Fenwick enter, but Isis stayed behind to look out while Beth and Watson go down the stairs.
Seeing them return without the criminal, Isis went up to them. "I know what he stole from museum." She told Beth. "It was an old disguise the Professor James Moriarty wore at Reichenbach Falls. Why would he need that?" Isis knew why, but didn't say anything to avoid a major paradox.
Beth looked thoughtful before gasping. "DNA! The disguise had Moriarty's DNA, which means Fenwick didn't want it be traced by Scotland Yard. He feared it would make riverside track him and Moriarty."
Isis pretended to look confuse. "Wait, isn't Moriarty dead?" She asked.
"I saw him, Isis!" Beth told her. "He was in a getaway vehicle while I was detaining Fenwick. He's alive, I swear! You believe me right?"
Nodding, Isis told her friend. "I believe you, Beth. After all, this is the future where anything is possible." Turning to leave, she said. "I'm heading back to Baker Street. Need to clean up the mess that was made. Contact me if you need back up!"
It was an hour later that Beth contacted Isis to meet her somewhere downtown. Isis asked what was going on and her friend confirmed what she was hoping to hear.
Bringing Sherlock Holmes back to life!
Isis had the foresight to restore and repair the detective's clothes. Grabbing some clothes and his signature outdoor wear, she placed them in a duffle and left the building. After doing free running and parkour, Isis dropped into the alley next to the warehouse where she was meeting Beth and Watson. Exiting the alley, Isis waved at them and ran up to them.
"Is he in there?" Isis asked, pointing to the warehouse.
"He is." Beth answered. She noticed the duffle bag. "What you bring?"
Isis raised a brow. "You seriously didn't think I would let Sherlock Holmes wake up without clothes to wear, did you?"
Beth shook her with a smirk and made a memo through Watson. Isis made a smart comment about how the Yard detective could've let her open the door after said detective kicked it down. They entered and Isis immediately went to find the famous detective while Beth got something to carry out the capsule. Coming across a familiar sheet, Isis yanked it off and stared in awe at the perfectly preserved body of Sherlock Holmes.
"Done ogling yet?" She jumped and gave the bird to her best friend, who just laughed. "I was joking, I."
Isis saw the hover dolley and started to bounce with excitement. "I can't believe we are about meet and speak with someone who solved impossible cases!" She said. "Also I was not ogling! Just amazed at the fact that the man from one of my favorite stories is in front of me."
Beth just shook her head and laughed. The two worked together to get the capsule onto the hover dolley and brought it out to the cruiser. Isis had to hold her laughter as Beth threw a small tantrum at poor Watson for sending the memo she made earlier without her permission.
Feeling bad for the compudroid, Isis went up and pat its back. "You were just following your programming, Watson. I don't blame you." When you both entered the cruiser, she had to laugh a little when Beth turned the droid off. "Beth, it was just doing what it was programmed to do."
"What are you? My mom?"
"More like an older sister."
Isis was standing close to the tank that was restoring Detective Holmes into his prime. She heard the conversation that Beth was having with the doctor, but wasn't paying attention. Her concern was making sure that her favorite detective was doing okay with her empathic abilities. When Beth approached her, she turned her head and gave her look asking 'is everything ready?'.
Seeing her friend nod, Isis returned to her vigil. When the electric current was used to resuscitate Holmes, Isis sensed some fear and confusion coming from him. Without hesitation, she place her hand on the tank and sent feelings of safety and peace to help him. The fear went away and she sensed the confusion turned into curiosity which became a warm fuzzy feeling that made her heart leap.
Seeing her reaction, Beth asked Isis. "You okay? You went from concern to a blushing mess."
"I wasn't blushing!" Isis denied, trying to keep the feelings in control. "I sensed Detective Holmes was in need of reassurance so I reached out to help."
"Which turned you into a blushing mess." Beth laughed when her friend gave her a glare. "Relax, I will not tell anyone about your crush on the 19th century detective."
"Beth!!"
Isis had just finished unpacking Holmes' clothes when Beth told her he had woken up. She gently gathered his things and walked back to the lab. Upon entering she heard Sherlock speak.
"I know your ancestor too well. Also you're still wearing your badge."
Isis always found that line funny so she let out a laugh. "Seriously, Beth, you forgot you were wearing your badge?" She laughed again as she approached the pair. "Not to mention the man probably saw the familial traits of your bloodline in your face."
"Precisely." Holmes said with a smile. "May I inquire on who you are?"
"Oh,"Isis tries to keep her blush away. OMG His smile and his voice!"I'm Isis. Beth's friend and the one who made sure you had clothes." Holds out said items. "It's great to meet you in person, Detective Holmes. Read the stories several times. Gives one an understanding on how to use eyes and brain to make deductions of your surroundings."
"Why thank you, Miss Isis." Holmes said. "It is nice to hear people still learn from my cases. Also, thank you for the forethought of bringing me clothes."
When he took his clothes, his hand brushed against hers and she felt an electric shock. She briefly felt his shock through the brief contact, then the warmth that she felt when he was in the tank.
Reigning her powers, Isis nodded her head and smiled. Please don't let me be blushing like a teenager! "It's no problem Detective. It's the least I can do."
Beth laughed. "Don't believe that, Holmes. she's been renovating your home for the past year and she managed to fix all the damages on the 2nd floor by herself."
Holmes looked shock and was about to say something, but Isis control on her mental and emotional state was waiting so she quickly excused herself. Once out of the room she ran down the hall and sat at the end of it, letting all what she was thinking and feeling out in tears due to feeling overwhelmed. Once she calmed down, Isis went to retrieve her duffle and then went to wait by the car. It gave her time to calm down and regain control of herself, thanking whoever was watching over her above for not having her powers go nuts.
Seeing the two walk out of the building, Isis had to admit to herself that Sherlock Holmes was definitely handsome in the 19th century clothes. She waved at them and got into the back next to Watson. Once everyone was in they were off.
The flight back to New London was exactly as it was in the show. Isis laughed silently at Holmes' line "great wit and good looks". Beth didn't seem to notice, but the sense of pride(and possibly happy?) That he broadcasted had Isis knowing he heard her. At the station, Isis sat at a nearby desk and was checking her emails as Beth explained what was going on and how Moriarty was involved. When she gave Holmes the headset, Beth left but not before giving a wink to Isis and nodding towards the famous detective. Isis just have her the bird.
Isis took out her ear buds and phone, then hooked them up to each other. Placing the ear pieces in her ears, Isis activated her music and closed her eyes while listening to her favorite 21st century violinist on loop. She didn't know she fell asleep until someone grabbed her shoulder. Using her powers to check, she sensed the familiar emotions of Beth and started to wake up. Once she was more aware, she realized that something was on top of her. Looking down, Isis noticed a familiar Inverness laid on top of her.
Did Detective Holmes place this on me? "What I miss?" She asked her friend.
"We are tracking a criminal." Beth told her. "You in?"
Isis nodded and careful lifted the Inverness off her as she got up. Folding it gently over her arm, she looked around and saw Watson scanning some familiar journals. "Are those Dr. Watson's journals?"
Beth nodded. "Yeah, I'm hoping it makes Watson be Watson to help Sherlock when I'm not available."
"I can help, too!"
"By blushing?"
Walking away to hide the blush, Isis went off to find Holmes. Finds him talking the dickhead of a police chief, Grayson. "Excuse me," she said softly, getting their attention. "I just wanted to return this to you, Detective Holmes. Also, to say thank you."
"It was no trouble, Miss Isis." He said taking his Iverness from her. "Although, I gratefully appreciated you returning it."
Nodding, Isis spoke. "No problem! Beth said we are tracking a criminal?"
Grayson answered."I was against, and still am, allowing you to tag along. Yet, Mr. Holmes assures me that you can be of great assistance."
So that's what they were talking about!"I can hold my own, sir. No worries."
They landed back at the Yard and the four quickly ran inside. After avoiding deadly crashes and seeing Fenwick, Isis knew who to expect in the mainframe as they ran towards it.
Upon entering, they saw two of the scientists bound. "Looks like they left already." Beth said.
"Doubt it!" I said and followed Holmes.
"The culprit is still here!" He said as he activated the mainframe doors.
"Hacking from inside the mainframe!" I concluded and closed my eyes as a bright light flashed through the doors.
Hearing Holmes telling who I know was Moriarty to stop, I opened my eyes and pulled out my bo staff. Extending it, I ran inside with Holmes and Beth calling out to me. The robot began to fire at me and I dodged its attacks with some flips.
"Freeze!" Beth yelled as she stood next to me.
"Lestrade,No!"
"Beth, look out!"
When she went blasting back she knocked down Holmes and hit the wall. Seeing her friend, someone she sees as a sister, hurt like that triggered Isis into going 'overprotective' mode. She ran towards the bot and its master, and caught the blast with her staff. With precise aim, Isis threw her staff at the bot piercing its mobility unit. A blast was shot at it and Isis flipped away before it blew up in her proximity. Landing near Holmes, she noticed he was holding Beth's blaster making him the one who helped her.
Turning back, Isis called out. "You're outmatched and outnumbered. Surrender!"
Next thing that happened was fast: Moriarty tossed a grenade out, Isis grabbed Holmes hand and pulled him away from the growing smoke, the two getting out the doors after Watson opened them and extracted Beth. Then the boom came and everyone shielded themselves.
Once it was over, Isis went back to the entrance and peered into the mainframe. "They're gone! Looks like they used a grapple hook to escape through the maintenance hatch above." She looks for the robot remains and saw her staff was destroyed. "Good thing it was just a prototype, I can build a better bo staff."
A few minutes later, everyone was convening in the chief's office. Isis watched the scene play out like it did in the show as she sent some confirmation emails to the appropriate recipients. Soon it was time to leave and Isis remembered she has no idea where Holmes is staying.
"Um... Guys, where is Detective Holmes staying?" She asked. "I have to finish his Baker Street home and I just got the manpower to finish everything within the next few days from my contacts."
Beth answered."The Yard is paying for a room at a hotel for the next few days. Gives you time to wrap everything up. Don't worry, Isis, just focus on one thing at a time."
"I agree with Lestrade." Holmes said. "After today, you should focus on restoring Baker Street. I'm in no rush to return until it's ready."
Watson put his input. "I noticed you have been mentally and emotionally exhausted due to the stress and very limited amount of sleep. I suggest you head back to your residence and get some rest. Nothing strenuous for at least 24 hours."
"I will make sure the people you hired will get things done right tomorrow." Beth promised when Isis opened her mouth. "I know you pretty well,I, and you will drive yourself into a breakdown if you don't take the day to yourself tomorrow."
Isis sighed. "I'm the one who's supposed to play the elder sister." She the look of concern on Holmes' face and conceded. I am long overdue for some rest anyway!
Chapter 5: Sneak Out Or Hang Out
Summary:
So it is the day after the resurrection of Sherlock Holmes and the Yard Incident. Isis tried to do some work in her temporary room, but got caught by Lestrade. The fangirl was forced to bed rest with a bribe, but doesn't stop a certain detective from calling to check on her.
Chapter Text
Isis woke up earlier than normal. She was still feeling on high alert and had difficulty staying asleep for the rest of the night. Since this was the fifth failure, Isis just got up to shower and change into a clean set of workout gear. Due to the forced experimentations, Isis was to go through a severe training regiment to stay in peak condition. Now she does it to not only stay fit, but to calm her mind. Doing some pushups and situps, Isis finished with a small meditation session.
A few minutes later, Isis was at her work desk trying to work on a computer chip for her phone that allows interdimensional calls. Her idea is to contact her siblings from her home universe and warn them about what their father did to her. She had deciphered a quarter of the hard drives she stole from Moriarty and hid her findings in a secret location. Got lucky on finding the interdimensional communication data and had started working on it right away.
She had just finished adding the final touches of her prototype when there was a knock at the front door. Isis looked out her window and saw Beth waiting on the stoop. Going back to her desk, she installed the chip into her phone and left to open the door.
"Hey,Beth!" Isis greeted her best friend. "What brings you here?"
Beth looks at Isis and noticed her clothes as well as the bags under her eyes. "I, are you working?" She asked.
Isis shook her head. "No, I just had difficulty sleeping. Did some exercises and just finished a prototype when you knocked."
"In other words, you are not following orders from last night." Beth sighed. "Isis, you are to go back in your room and get your required sleep. No arguments!" Beth cut off when Isis went to speak. "Chief Grayson allowed me to do my paperwork while not only making sure everything is ok with the workers here, but to ensure you stay out of trouble for the rest of the day. In other words, house arrest for the next 24 hours for you."
Isis pouted and didn't put up a struggle when Beth forced her back to bed. At least Beth let her keep her sweat pants and shirt on. Then she noticed that her friend had bag on her back.
"Beth, what's in the bag?"
Beth smirks. "A little something to keep you in bed."
Hours later, Isis was putting down the first journal of Dr. John Watson and picked up the second. She had made a deal with Beth: take a couple hours to sleep, then take an hour to read the journals. After a 2-3 hour rest, she would spend an hour reading the journals.
After reading the first page of the second journal and noticed the time. It was late, but not so for an early dinner. Just as she was about to get up, Beth came in with some soup and a small box.
"I knew you would be hungry by now."She explained. "Brought some food. Also, been meaning to give this to you." Hands over the food and box.
Placing the food carefully on the desk next to her, Isis looked at the box and saw it was a wrist communicator similar to Beth and the Irregulars. Without haste, she tore open the box and went to work on putting it on her left wrist. Her friend taught her the basics of using the device and installed her contact information. The girls talked as Isis ate her food: how the repairs for the mainframe are going to assimilate Detective Holmes to the future.
When Beth was about to leave, she took the bowl from Isis and promised to lock everything up before she left. Isis nodded and wished her friend good night as she got comfortable in bed again. Lying back, Isis stared at the ceiling wondering how the 19th century detective was handling his first full day in New London. As she pondered this, her communicator beeped and she answered it.
"Hello?"
"Hello, Miss Isis. Glad to see Lestrade gave you the device. I wasn't sure how else to contact you until the restore the landline."
Oh yeah, he has no idea about my actual phone! "It's alright, Detective Holmes." Isis told him. "To be honest, I was going to bug Beth to use her communicator to check on you." Isis mentally smacked herself, not wanting to say it like that. "I mean, just wanted to check how your first full day in New London has been."
Holmes smiled. "Thank you for the concern, but I have managed to assimilate quite well." He informed her. "You should focus on yourself, especially since you had difficulty sleeping and decided to work instead of resting like ordered."
Isis looked shocked, but then smiled. "Alright, Detective. How did you deduce that?"
"Eyes and Brains, Miss Isis." Holmes stated. "The bags under your eyes are still present despite obvious signs at resting, but at intervals at a couple hours. Not to mention, you still look unwell yet more rested than last night. Your hair is fashioned to stay out of you face and there are signs of the shirt your wearing is used for exercise or some strenuous task. My guess is that Lestrade bribed you into bed rest and you did so to get her end of the deal."
Isis nodded, impressed and intrigued. "Well done, Detective Holmes. No wonder you are still consider the world's best detective. As for what made me cave," she picked up the journal she started reading. "Beth brought over Dr. Watson's journals to read as I rest. Was going to put them in your study when the workers were done renovating and updating it. Thought it would give you a better sense of feeling at home with something from your friend."
Holmes looked happy to hear this, but Isis can tell he was still sad about not having his best friend with him anymore. "Glad to know they will be staying where they belong then. Do you know when the renovations will be done?"
"If Beth's temper and the schedule I gave her to go by are in play, I deduce that they would be done the day after tomorrow."
They both laughed and continued talking for a few more minutes before wishing each other good night. Isis got comfortable once more, but was now feeling the exhaustion that she was ready to pass out. Closing her eyes, Isis fell asleep with a smile on her face.
Chapter 6: Sherlock Meet The Irregulars
Summary:
Second episode here we go! Looks like Isis might have to expose some of her special abilities to Sherlock and one of them Lestrade has no clue about.
Chapter Text
Isis felt better the next day, but didn't stray from 221B Baker Street. She was impressed with the efficiency the workers have done at renovating and believed it would be finished the next day. Isis was asked to join a quick investigation by Beth, but she told her friend that she wants to ensure everything stays on track and has some projects to finish up.
She had finished with upgrading her phone, but was too afraid that her hard work was in vain if her plan to call her family failed. So she worked on some projects that needed finishing. Isis had created her own hidden blade from Assassin's Creed with her own twist and small arsenal. Another project is her new bo staff that can not only change its size, but can wield electric charges and become two separate eskrima sticks like Nightwing/The First Robin. The final one was a combination mode to fly inspired by Treasure Planet and Marvel comics.
It was the said project that Isis had just finished when her communicator went off. She looked and saw Deidre was calling. She answered. "Hey, DD! What's up?"
"Can you meet up with us around Piccadilly?" Deidre asked. "We noticed something weird was happening and most was from there."
"Ok, I will be there soon. Just let me call in a favor to have someone make sure the workers get their job done while I'm out." Isis told her. "Tell the boys I will see you three in about 30 minutes. See you soon, DD!"
30 Minutes later has Isis stepping out of a cab at the square. She scored with someone she helped awhile back with a favor they owed her. After a change into some clean jeans, t-shirt, and sock, Isis put on her combat boots and grabbed some gear before heading out.
She sees the Irregulars waving her over to the nearest Underground entrance and rushes over to them. "What is the problem?" She asked once she was with them.
Wiggins answers. "We were trying to plan to make some credits when we noticed people entering the Underground and not coming out. We called you because you like to solve these things."
Tennyson responds in Binary, which has Deidre giggling. "Ain't that the truth! How many times did we find you trying to look for clues, Isis?"
She just shook her head with a chuckle. "You three are way to observant for your generation." She said. "You three create a perimeter and keep count of anymore people arriving yet not leave. Do not enter the Underground until I give the all clear."
The teens tried to argue, but Isis got them to cooperate in the end. Once they went to survey and scam, Isis enters the Underground and use her wolf senses to navigate. Following a heap of fresh scents, it took her awhile to find the source of the problem since it was practically a maze of tunnels. She saw Fenwick put people in a machine and messed with their minds. Analyzing everything and everyone, Isis got a look of the location and started to head back as stealthily as possible.
Approaching where she came, Isis noticed people entering the Underground and saw it was Detective Holmes, Watson, Beth, and- What the duck is Wiggins doing here?!
"Wiggins!" She hollered and saw the young man freeze in his tracks. "I told you to stay up too until I gave the all clear."
"I'm sorry, I, but these folks needed to come down here." He explained.
Isis looked at the group, then at him."You lost a bet against Sherlock Holmes didn't you?"
Wiggins looked at her to Holmes to her again. "Wait , he's the real deal?"
Isis nodded. "You will hear the story another time. Right now, get your butt topside now and make sure the others are ok."
"We need him, Miss Isis." Holmes tells her. "He knows the tunnel map pretty well."
Isis crossed her arms. "I already did reconnaissance and found the main hub. Wiggins, get going before some nasties come out to play."
"Nasties are we?" I turned to see some thugs approaching us. "Who do you think you are?"
Beth flashed her badge, but only made the thugs attack. We jumped into action, Beth and I taking the thugs out with some hand to hand combat. Once it was over, she let Beth and Watson detain them and walks over to Wiggins and Holmes.
"Wiggins, head back to the others. I will call to let you know we got out safe." Isis told her young friend. She looks at Holmes. "Besides, it's too dangerous for him. What we are dealing with is beyond him."
Holmes nods. "I agree. Wiggins, I thank you for your help. Rest assured I will call on you and your friends help in the future."
Isis waved good by as she turned away. "I know where to go! Keep up!" With that, she started to sprint back to the epicenter.
Isis dodged the blast from Fenwick's robot. They were ambushed on the way to his lair. Lestrade and Watson were down, but Holmes and herself were still up. Seeing a power switch, Isis whistled and nodded to it when Holmes looked at her. He nodded and they split up: Holmes to the switch and Isis to the robot.
Isis dodged the blast and jumped on its head. "Yippee-kiyay!" She shouted as the bot tries to through her off. "Not so tough now!" Sees Holmes by the switch. "Just a little more!" The robot steps on the track. "Now!" She yells while jumping off the robot.
When the bot went down, Isis was almost relieved but sensed Fenwick. Looking around, she saw him behind Holmes. "Detective, move!" She shouted and jumped in front of the stun meant for him.
When Isis came to, she saw that they were in the train car. Getting up, she somersaults to bring her arms forward and examined the cuffs.
"Impressive maneuver." She looks up and sees Holmes was up as well with hands in front as well. "Seems like we both have a way to handle these scenarios." He said.
Isis looked sad at hearing that. "Not by choice on my end." She says, then shakes her head. "Anyway, I can reboot Watson. Just give me a few seconds. Can you wake up Beth please?"
Sensing the need to change the subject from her, Holmes agreed and they both got to work. Isis got Watson up and stifled a laugh when she heard her friend complaining about waking up. Watson freed them, but they were still trapped. Beth tries to open the doors by ramming them, but failed. Isis saw Holmes take out a blaster and hammer from Watson's utility belt. Knowing what happens next, Isis watched the detective trigger the emergency sprinklers and laughed when Beth sends herself hurling out of the car. Sensing a warm feeling, Isis calmed down and looked to see Holmes smiling at her. Fighting back a blush, Isis steps out with Holmes and Watson behind her.
Seeing Holmes test the track, Isis calls out. "Do we have a way out, Detective?"
"It seems the track is now live." He stated. "Lestrade, can you get the train to work? We will need to get out quickly."
"I will go with Detective Holmes to investigate and shut the operation down." Isis said. "I know where to go and what's being used. Don't argue with me, Detective."
He nods and the duo make their way down the tunnels. They found some tanks with ladders and started climbing with Holmes first. They got to the top and jumped to the next one to see Fenwick in action.
"As I suspected, he's turning normal civilians into criminals." Holmes said.
"We can stop it by having the boilers go off." Isis told him. "We just have to run really fast back to the train."
The two went about sabotaging after that and tried to escape only to be blocked by a giant thug. He blasted them, splitting them apart. Isis regained her footing, but saw Holmes fall. She ran in front of him and stood guard. The thug fires, but Watson comes and takes the hit. Both humans check on the bot, but sensing the danger before Holmes could earn her had Isis activate her phantom blade and shot the thug's weapon out of his hand. Watson reacted and stunned him. Isis helped them both up.
"You guys ok to run?" She asked.
"Yes, but we have no time to waste." Holmes answered. "We need to escape before the boiler explode."
The trio ran back to the train and saw Beth struggling to turn it on. Once on, Holmes kicked the control console and they were off. Isis held on for dear life and saw the explosions happening behind them. When Holmes says they are about to enter the Thames, Isis prepared to start swimming.
Swimming out of the river, Isis knew she was going to need a long shower to get the river stench off her. She hears Sherlock scream for Watson and Beth trying to get him to calm down. Not wanting to see him in distress, Isis knew that to help she would have to expose a secret.
"Beth, remember what we talked about when we met?" She asked. Beth looked confused, but eyes widen in realisation. Seeing this, Isis says ,"You're about to see one of the ordeals I went through caused."
Walking towards the bank, Isis felt a hand on her shoulder and felt Holmes' presence. "Stand back, Detective. I need space for movement." Shaking off his hand, she went to the edge.
Concentrating, Isis held out her hands and focused on finding Watson. Once found, she used her telekinesis to pull him out of the Thames and levitate onto the dry land. Once Watson was safe, Isis stopped using her power and knelt down due to a dizzy spell. After a moment, she was able to stand back up and turned to face the others.
"I know what I did was not normal." Isis explained. "To be honest, what has happened to me was due to illegal experimentation that I was an unwilling participant of. I have many other talents, but I hide them so I would not be a lab rat again. If you do no want to see me again, I will... understand." Her voice broke on the last word and closed her eyes to prevent tears from falling.
Someone hugged her, and Isis opened her eyes to see it was Beth. She returned the hug and let the tears fall as she closed her eyes again. She didn't see the look of pain and sadness on a certain detective's face.
Isis got back to 221B Baker Street with two boxes: one for clothes and one for her tech and personal items. Walking through the front door, Isis saw everyone there and saw Watson's new look.
"Like the new upgrade, Watson." She said as she approached them. "You moving in?"
"Why yes!" Watson declared excitedly. "Holmes has asked me to live here with him."
"I'm happy to hear it!" Isis smiled, then shifted the boxes in her arms. "Now if you excuse me, I have to pack my belongings. Beth, you coming?"
"Now hold a moment!" Isis looked at Holmes and saw that he was confused and...Is he upset about me leaving? "Why are you packing? You're not leaving aren't you?"
Isis sighed. "Unfortunately, I was only permitted to stay here so I can ensure that this place was restored. Now that it is, I have no right to stay. Beth is letting me crash at her place until I find a more permanent situation."
"What if I ask you to move in with Watson and I?" Isis couldn't believe what she was hearing: Sherlock Holmes was asking her to move in as a permanent resident in his home.
"If you are sure... I might be a handful, just to warn you!"
"I am sure. This place was already your home. It would be reuse to evict you after what you have done."
Isis felt joy from hearing that. "Looks like your stuck with me then."
The warm feeling can back and she knew it was the right choice.
Chapter 7: Test Drive and Quality Time
Summary:
Isis goes to the countryside of England to test her latest project. Tagging on are Sherlock, Lestrade, and Watson to make sure she is ok. Later, Lestrade and Isis talk about Sherlock and the latter admits something. Sometime later, Sherlock and Isis get to know each other, which leads to a deeper bond between the two. Also, you can't hide the fact that you're from a different universe from this guy!
Chapter Text
Isis was looking out the window of the car as she admired the countryside that seemed to not be touched by the dystopia of the 22nd century. This is one the sceneries of England she had always wanted to see in her universe, but never had the money to travel. Now she was in Sherlock Holmes' hover car with Detective Holmes, Watson, and Beth visiting the countryside. Only it wasn't to enjoy the view, but to test out her latest project.
It was in a form of a backpack at the moment, like you see when Falcon from Marvel would wears it. In this form, the wings were made of light that can solidify aka hardlight (idea from RWBY). Its second form, the flying surfboard that has a hardlight sail when wanting to do some air sailing. Basically, second form is like Tim Hawkins board from Treasure Planet.
Isis looked towards the front where Watson was driving and Beth was helping with navigation. Looking to her right, she sees Holmes surveying the countryside like she had been doing. He looked peaceful, but she could see a slight sadness in his eyes.
Must be thinking of the 19th century. Isis thought, then came up with an idea. I did read he used to study and keep bees! Maybe I can talk him into picking up the hobby again. "Admiring the view, Detective?" She asked. "I had always wanted to visit the English countryside. You can only see much from pictures." Looks back out the window. "At least I can finally say I was here."
"It is nostalgic, I will admit." Isis looked at the detective. "Something that has not changed as much since the 19th century. Although I am curious about what fauna and flora had survived."
"You talking about the bees?" Holmes looks towards her. She shrugs. "I read the stories and it mentioned you studied bees. Did you really own your own set of bed hives?"
Holmes smiled gently. "I did. Used to study their habits, lifespans, and the like." He looked at her. "Wanted to study the variation of the species and how their honey differ from each other."
Isis nodded. "That actually sounds very interesting. Not many consider the study of bees." She smiled at him. "Since this is the 22nd century, it might be interesting to see how much has changed with the bees. Maybe you should start a colony again? Update your research with what has happened to the bees over the centuries?"
Holmes was in thought. "I may consider that. Thank you for the thought."
Isis tried to fight a blush, but a small one made an appearance. She sensed the warmth feeling from Holmes and knew he saw her blush. Yet she still doesn't understand what the feeling he gives off is.
After hours of driving, the group found a field and landed. Isis picked up the tech and practically sprinted from the car because she was excited to bring something from fantasy into reality. Once a good distance away, she strapped on the pack and put on the control gloves she created to maintain and manipulate the tech.
"Alright, I got the camera rolling!" Isis looks over to the others and sees Beth holding her phone. "For old tech, it's very easy."
Isis laughed. "It's only a century old, Beth. Not to far from this century." She gets into a stance. "Everything is ready. Control gloves are activated! Project Fantasy Flight is a go in 3...2...1!"
With a flick of her wrists, the wings activated and repulsor jets sent her into the air. Isis screamed with joy as she used her gloves to steer and control the speed of the pack. She flew over the group in a swoop, laughing at their reaction and Beth's empty threats. Ready to test the second form, Isis flew to a higher altitude and detached from the pack. She freefall as she used her gloves to command the wingpack into a flying surfboard. It flew under her and she landed feet first, having the board register her and quickly fastened her feet in. She then began to surf the air, screaming and shouting with joy. Feeling the wind picking up, Isis used her gloves to trigger the sails and started to sail along the air current. To wrap it up, she put the sail away and went back to higher altitude. Once there, she controlled the board into freefall where she did flips and tricks. Once close to the ground she upright and went sail surfing again just a few feet off the ground towards the others. All the while, laughing with a huge smile on her face.
"Why did you do that?!" Beth demanded. "You freefall twice and we almost had to call for help! What were you thinking?!"
It was late and the group had planned ahead to book some rooms in an inn nearby. They went to the inn after the testing and Beth proceeded to drag Isis to their room once she received the keycard. Then she lectured and scolded her friend for the stunts she pulled.
"I'm sorry for scaring you!" Isis told her, frustrated from dealing with the telling. "I just wanted to have fun testing some technology without having to do it in a fight for its first run. The last two I tested were during scenarios where I had to defend myself and others. Just wanted one where I can at least have a chance of letting loose for something fun."
Beth took a deep breath before sitting next to her friend on her bed. "Just promise me you would let us know beforehand if you want to let loose like that again. You're like a big sister to me and it scared me that I thought you were going to die."
Isis pulled her friend into a tight hug. "I am sorry for scaring you like that. I also consider you as a sister, Beth, so next time I plan to do something like that I promise to tell you."
"Thanks, I." Beth returned the hug. "To be honest, I thought Holmes would lose his mind after those freefalls. He was scared shitless for you!"
Isis pulled away. "Okay, one: I never heard you curse before. Two: you're telling me that the great detective, Sherlock Holmes, feared for my life? Why should he be so worried about me? I mean, I only knew this guy for almost two weeks."
Beth looked at her, stunned. "You seriously don't know? I, he has a huge crush on you! I know you have empathic abilities, but you can't tell when someone likes you?"
Isis took a moment to think. "I do detect this warm, comfortable feeling from him ever since we resurrected him. Could never place it!"
"Wait, what?" Beth definitely was stunned at this bit of information. "Isis, I'm telling you right now: You two are meant for each other. I bet that feeling you had since that lab is two souls finding each other." When Isis showed doubt, Beth mentioned, "Also, don't forget who I saw checking him out that day-"
"I was not!" Isis denied. "Even if he meets all my standards, Detective Holmes is way out of league."
"Ha! So you do have mutual feelings for him!" Beth called her out. Isis blushed and her face in a pillow. "Now I need to know what standards he has met." Isis shook her, burrowing more into the pillow. "Come on, tell me! I swear I won't tell."
Isis dropped the pillow with a sigh and, without looking at her friend, complied. "Cute, smart, badass, and has a nice ass."
Beth started laughing. "You think he has a nice ass?"
Isis threw her pillow at her friend and got up. "I need some fresh air."
Isis laid down on the grass, gazing at what stars were out. Hearing movement near her, she sensed Holmes approaching from the back door. "I know that's you, detective! Come join me!"
Her eyes continued to look up until the man in question was looking down at her."Enjoying the view?" Holmes asked.
Isis smiled and patted the area next to her. "Join me! It's actually really relaxing."
She believed he would sit next to her, but not actually lay next to her. "I see what you mean." He says as they laid side by side. "You scared us all earlier today."
Isis sighed. "I know. Beth already scolded me for that. I am sorry for not telling you my plan." She starts to fidget. "It's just-"
"Something you carried with you from the 21st century?" Isis looked at Holmes. "Eyes and Brains, Miss Isis, eyes and Brains. You're most obvious clue is how well you know your phone and told Lestrade how it's not to far apart from the current century. Your mannerisms and actions are similar to those of this century, but not completely."
Isis was silent for a moment. "Anything else?" She asked, quietly.
"From how the universe's law of physics does not apply to you in some of the cases I have seen, I would say you are from another dimension." Holmes looks at Isis. "You can trust me, Miss Isis. Whatever secrets you have, I promise not to tell a soul."
Isis knew this and felt like he should tell him everything, just not mention Moriarty's name as the mastermind until a future case."Okay, Holmes, I will tell you everything on two conditions. 1. You keep your questions and judgment to yourself until I'm done. 2. Just call me Isis."
"Agreed and please call me Sherlock."
"Alright, Sherlock, my story begins like this..."
Chapter 8: Hit the Streets With Some Beats
Summary:
It has been almost two days since the testing and Isis entrusting Sherlock with her huge secret. It is awkward for a while, until the Irregulars visit with a surprise for our girl.
Chapter Text
Almost two days since they returned from the countryside. Two days since there has been some awkwardness between Holmes and Isis. That night he told her that she can trust him, she told him everything besides Moriarty name. By everything, I mean including the fact that he's a fictional character of a popular detective series and not a real person. Isis told Holmes she is aware of a paradox effect if she alters too much of what is set in stone and fears of creating such a thing that will have her lose everyone she has connected with, including him. Holmes understood the situation, but Isis could sense that he is trying to grasp that all of this is fake in her universe.
Which brings us back to the awkward tension between the two. Beth noticed it and was trying to get Isis to tell her what happened when they got back to New London. Isis told her bestie it something personal between her and the famous detective, that they will get through on their own. Beth dropped it and let them be. Now Isis is in her room, trying to build something music related with the use of hardlight as a gift to Holmes. She had just finished the last of the configurations when there was knock on her bedroom door.
"Who is it?" She called out, putting her tools away.
"It's Deidre!"
"Come on in, Dede!" Deidre enters and looks curiously at the present. "I was making something for Detective Holmes." Isis explained. "Wanted to make something that can turn into a working replica of an instrument of the user's choice. Since the stories say he likes to play, I thought give him something to access instruments he's most familiar with."
Deidre's eyes widened with excitement."Oh! Can I see it?" She asked, excitedly.
Isis gave a small laugh. "You can when I go into town to test it." She then noticed two missing people. "Where's Wiggins and Josh?"
Deidre looked confused, then seemed to remember something. "That's right! We came here with a surprise for you! I came to find you while the boys show it to Mr. Holmes."
Isis smiled and put a hoodie over her workout bra and sweats. She put on some slip on sneakers Beth got her as a housewarming present and followed Deidre with the project in her hoodie pockets.
The girls entered Holmes' study and saw the three males making deductions on something random. "Hey, Wigs, Ten!" Isis called out.
The trio looked to her and Tennyson started speaking in Binary. "Oh, I have been working on some projects." She answered. "One of them almost gave Sherlock a heart attack."
"What do you mean by that?" Wiggins asked, concerned.
"Nothing serious, Wiggins." Holmes answered before she could. "She created a dual flight device that we took to the countryside. The stunts Isis pulled had our small group scared and incredibly worried, but she proved that everything was under her control."
"Not to mentioned getting the third degree from Beth." Isis added. "So you don't have to lecture me, you three. I even promised Sherlock I wouldn't do it without filling them in again."
The Irregulars nodded, then Tennyson beeped a series of code. "Thanks for reminding us, Tennyson!" Wiggins said. "Deidre, where did you put the case?"
"Out in the hall. Hold on a tick!" She ran out of the study and rushed back in with a guitar case. "Got it!"
"Sweet! Isis, we know you had to sell some personal belongings you had." Wiggins said. "Many of them were instruments abandoned by musicians that you repaired and learned to play. You sold them to help fund the renovations of this building. Now it is habitable and functioning again."
"Yet it was still weird to not see or hear you play music around New London's streets. So we all chipped in and got you something." Deidre added, and held out the case.
Isis took the case, touched at their gesture. She placed it on a nearby table and opened it. A surprised gasp left her as she looks at what seems to be a brand new 21st century electric guitar. Carefully removing it from the case, Isis turned to show it to the others. Tennyson spoke in Binary again and Isis learned that they saved up most of their earnings to get something that is considered a relic in the 22nd century.
"Thank you, guys." She told them softly. "I have no idea what to say." Tennyson used Binary again and she laughed. "Not tonight, Ten, but it doesn't mean I won't play music."
Isis placed the guitar back in the case and took out her latest project: a headset, some gloves and a mini projector with a magnetic clip. She put on the headset, then the gloves. Attaches the projector to her belt and activates everything. Her technology glowed a neon blue and the others looked in awe.
"I was planning to test this in the city." Isis explained. "Why don't we head to Trafalgar Square and I can show you what it can do."
The Irregulars rushed out the door, excited to see what's going to happen. Isis turned to Sherlock and saw him leaning against his work desk. "You coming, Sherlock?" She asked.
He looked conflicted. "I'm not sure that is wise." He told her. "I may have a case coming in soon and I wouldn't keep the clients to waiting."
Isis sighed. "Sherlock, I don't like the awkwardness between us. Ever since I told you my secret, you've been pushing me away. I didn't want to at first because I was afraid something like this or worse would happen. After getting to know you as a person than a character from a story made me realize that I can trust you. Trust you enough to talk about anything and to watch my back." Isis closed the guitar case and walked over to him. "I am sorry for whatever trust I ruined , but I was scared and still am." She placed the case by his deck. "I won't make you come, but it would mean a lot to me if you would join us." With that she walked out of the study.
Trafalgar Square was bustling with all kinds of traffic. Isis and the Irregulars found a corner and Isis made sure her tech was ready. She looked at her three friends and they looked eager. Looking around, her heart felt down when she didn't see Sherlock.
With a sigh, Isis focused and visualized a violin in her mind. Her headset read her brainwaves and made a hardlight replica in her hands. Adjusting it to her shoulder, Isis began to play Elements by Lindsey Stirling. She played the violin, but had projections of sound waves show up with the background tunes of the song. As she played, Isis heard the Irregulars cheering and saw people stopping to watch the show. As she ended the song, there was loud applause and requests for an encore.
Looking around once more, Isis saw someone watching from the corner of a building. Looking a little longer, she noticed it was Sherlock in disguise, but could recognize his face and hair anywhere. Not mention he looks good in civilian clothes! She sends a smile his way and used her powers to send a feeling of relief and grateful for his appearance. He sent back similar feelings with content and that mysterious warm feeling. Closing off the silent communication, Isis turned back to the crowd and begun to play Lindsey Stirling again except this time it was Aurora. As she played, she kept stealing glances at Sherlock and would smile when their eyes met. When the song ended, Isis let got of the replica and it faded into pixel dust. She turned everything off and excused herself with the help from the Irregulars from the crowd.
Rushing towards Sherlock, Isis couldn't stop the smile on her face even when she stood before him "You came!" She said, smiling.
Sherlock returned the smile. "I did." He let out a sigh. "I am sorry for the way I have been acting. It was disgraceful and not proper way to handle the situation. After hearing what you said today, I knew that by doing what I did not only hurt you, but unfairly punishing you. I ask for your forgiveness and that we start over."
Isis didn't say anything. She just went up to him and gave him a hug. Was about to pull back when he didn't return it, but relaxed when she felt his arms wrapped around her. "As long as you forgive me as well." She told him. Feeling him nod against her head, the two separated.
Taking off the technology, Isis handed it to Sherlock. "I had made this for you as a peace offering." She explained. "I had installed songs from the 19th-21st century into the device. All you would do is visualize what musical instrument you want to play and it will appear. You still need skill, which I know you have."
Sherlock took it from her and their hands touched. The warmth hits her full force and she blushed before removing her hands. Pocketing the present, Sherlock offered his arm to Isis and she took it. They walked away, arm in arm, without noticing three teenagers high fiving each other.

Chapter Text
The next few days were quiet. The New London recent crime wave had died down. Meaning Sherlock was around Baker Street more often and Isis would spend some time with him. He would teach her how to make her deductions and she would answer questions he has on her universe and century. She didn't see the signs of them getting closer until she woke up from sleeping on his shoulder while watching one of her favorite movies downloaded from her phone. She was really nervous about her feelings for Sherlock after that because she can't tell what he really feels about her. Not to mention the warm feeling her powers detect when the detective was near her had gotten stronger and she still can't decipher it.
One day, Isis had gotten up and dressed before Sherlock woke up. Craving for pancakes, she went to the kitchen and started to get everything together after putting a kettle on. Fifteen minutes later, she had finished making the pancakes with sides of breakfast sausage and homefries. The kettle then whistled and Isis moved it to a nearby hot plate. She heard movement above her from Sherlock's room and smiled knowing he was now awake. Isis turned off the stove and went towards the kitchen doorway.
"Sherlock, Breakfast Time!" She shouted in the hallway. Hearing him move around some more, she began to make some tea for the both if them.
Isis sets the kitchen table and places the food before sitting down. She takes a sip of her tea when Sherlock comes in dressed in his usual clothes. "It smells delightful!" He told her. "How long have you been up?"
Isis shrugged. "Not long. Woke up a few minutes before you did." She gestured to the seat across from her. "Come and eat while it's still hot, Sherlock."
The detective takes a seat and took a bite out of the food before him. Seeing the look of content on his face made Isis'heart flutter. She began to eat as well and enjoyed the peaceful silence. After they finished, Isis took both their dishes and started to clean them.
"Thank You for breakfast, Isis." Sherlock said. "If you will excuse me, I am going to see if there are any new cases waiting to be resolved."
Isis nodded, smiling at him. "Just give me a holler if you need me or if anything interesting popped up." She went back to cleaning the dishes as he left.
A few minutes later, Isis was in the study on her phone hacking into the news network for anything interesting. She was also watching Sherlock practice with his new 22nd century music instrument. Something was just added to the new network and Isis read the title.
"Sherlock," she called over his playing."I got a case that might interest you!"
Isis walked over to the study's computer and sent the feed to it from her phone. Sherlock joined her and they both read what she found.
"A missing case of three teenagers on the Moon." Sherlock reads the file. "According to this, the three were classmates who went to the Moon for vacation. Their suits were found destroyed with some large law prints and scratches around them."
Isis looked at the pictures that were uploaded. "Sherlock, I think this was a kidnapping." She pointed at the pictures. "If those kids were attacked outside safety, wouldn't there be some kind of gore on the suits and in the helmets?" Sherlock leaned in as she continued. "The glass looked like it was shattered inward on the helmets. If they were attacked, there would be at least blood around the helmet. There is nothing! I suspect somebody or something took the kids somewhere safe then destroyed the suits once they got the kids out of them and locked away."
Sherlock looked at her and smiled. "Very good deductions, Isis." She blushed and looked at the data. "The question is where did they go?" He asked her.
Isis turned to him and saw how close their heads were. She blushed again and leaned slightly away."One way to find out." She says. "Ever wanted to go to the moon?"
"Isis, wake up. We have arrived."
Isis gave a small moan as she woke up from her nap. She opened her eyes and saw she fell asleep on Sherlock...Again! "Oh no, I'm so sorry I fell asleep on you again Sherlock!"
"It's quite alright, my dear. You were never a bother before. I didn't mind at all." He reassured her. "The shuttle had just started to dock. I thought it was wise to wake you up before we had to board."
Moving her neck around to remove any kinks, Isis softly smiled. "Thanks for that. I'm still sorry for using you as a pillow again. I don't know why I did that."
They exited the shuttle and looked around the New Galileo City port. Isis was amazed for how far humanity had come to colonize the Moon and built an indoor city. She saw the windows and walked up to the viewing rail: she looked out into the vastness of space and the surface of the Moon, in awe as she realized that she was on the actual moon.
"It never seize to amaze me how far we as humans have come." Looking next to her, Isis noticed Sherlock had joined her. "We have managed space travel and colonizing on the Moon. Now we are trying to colonize other planets by finding ways to have it habitable." He turned to walk away. "Unfortunately we are here on business so we cannot enjoy our stay at the moment. Come along, Isis."
"I'm coming, Sherlock." She says and walks with him. "So who is going to call Beth and Watson?"
An hour later, the duo found their way to the underground maintenance halls. Sherlock had sent a call to Beth after losing a coin toss. Isis had found maintenance access nearby while he was doing so. She hacked the lock and got the two of them inside before anyone noticed. They made there way down the hall as Isis uses her phone to navigate them to the nearest server room just as the monstrous howling began.
As they approached, Isis heard footsteps heading their way. Signaling to be quiet, she warned Sherlock to hide. They ducked around the corner and peered out. They saw someone, a man, approach and used their thumbprint scan, but seemed to forget the code. Isis sensed distress and fear from the man. She looked at Sherlock and saw he was writing down the right code after the guys second attempt. When he went in, Isis goes to follow, but Sherlock held her back. Giving him a questionable look, she sent a feeling of curiosity to silently ask him why. Understanding the intent, Sherlock showed Isis a small role of clear tape. She held back a giggle and gave the detective a grin.
The door opened again and Sherlock signaled Isis to wait there as he approached the man coming out. She had to cover her mouth with her hand as Sherlock 'accidently' walked into the man, making him drop both their notebooks at once. When they exchanged the notebooks, the man left and walked passed the hallway that Isis was hiding. Once he was gone, Isis went to join Sherlock while still having the giggles.
"How did that man not realize we aren't part of staff?" She asked, managing to contain her giggles to a minimum. When she saw the detective use the tape to lift the fingerprint and use it on a scanner, she started to giggle again. "I guess human technology still flawed since an old school trick still opens scanner locks."
Sherlock looked at her with a smirk. "Seems so, lucky for us. Keep watch here and warm me of anyone coming. I will see how we can hear the howling."
"To quote a song I know: In outer space, no one can hear you scream." Isis said. "I will play lookout. Just don't try to back anything without me."
Sherlock nods and goes inside. Isis stood vigil over the entrance, on guard and powers feeling out for incoming presences. A moment later the howling stopped and the door opened.
"Now that the howling is turned off, we can proceed." Sherlock informed Isis. "Come, we must find some space suits."
Isis followed him. "Wait, do you even know where we are going?"
"Stop what you are doing!" Sherlock called out to the security blasting the wolf.
It took a few minutes, but Sherlock and Isis had found some suits and put them on. Once ready, they head out and made their way to wear the Hound was.
"Go back inside and resume crowd control!" The detective ordered.
Isis looked at the wolf and noticed that there weren't any scratches on the dome surface from the creature's claws. Focusing on the wolf she sees there is a slight pixelation to it. Looking around, Isis noticed a security camera that was following the Hound. She splits from Sherlock and goes towards it. Once she was near it, Isis used her enhanced strength to tear it off its post. She turned to see the Hound dissolve as Sherlock walked through it. Upon closer examination, Isis noticed it was a holo-projector disguised as a security camera. She went over to them just as Sherlock was about to leave.
"Wait!" Isis called out. Approaching the group, she turned to Beth and Watson. "Hey guys! Glad to see you got the message." She showed the evidence to the group. "I found what created the Hound. Someone disguised a holo-projector as a security camera. Trying to instill fear to create chaos for those inside."
Beth looked at her. "Why would they do that?"
"A distraction is my guess." Isis explained. "Something to keep us from looking closer into a theory I told Sherlock before coming here."
"Which is why we must investigate the crime scene where this originated from." Sherlock said and began to moon jump away. "Are you coming?"
"Wait for me, Sherlock!" Isis called, jumping after him. "I don't want to be lectured by Beth when she is is moody."
"Hey!" Beth exclaimed. Isis laughed as she caught up to the famous detective.
It took a moment, but they made it the scene of the crime. Isis was looking at the relics of the first moon landing as the others investigate like they did in the show. Luckily, she had forethought of putting her phone in the suit pockets before changing and coming out. Isis started taking pictures and posing for a selfie with the Earth in the background.
"Isis, what are you doing?" She turned to see Watson watching her.
"Taking pictures of Earth's historical moon landing sight." Isis explained. "Also wanted to take a selfie of my home planet behind me." She held up her phone. "Smile Watson!" Took a quick picture before he said anything.
"Come along, Isis!" Sherlock called to her. "We are going to look at the suits."
"Coming!" She jumped over to him and held up her phone. "Smile first, detective!"
He did and she took a picture. Then followed the group back to the building to look at the destroyed suits.
They looked at the suits and Isis was silently praying that the kids are alright.
"What a tragedy." Beth said.
"I highly doubt the kids are dead, Beth." Isis told her friend.
"Explain the suits then,I."
"She actually did." Everyone looked at Sherlock. "To me at least, before we got here."
"That's right." Isis said. "I told him that if the kids died in the suits, there would be blood and gore on them. Now that I think about, there would still be bodies too and none were reported."
"That is correct, my dear Isis." Sherlock told her. Isis blushed. "This means that your theory of kidnapping is correct."
Isis looked at the suits, then whipped out her phone. "I'm going to track the signal from earlier. If those kids are kidnapped, I can pinpoint the computer used within the radius of this city to find their location and captor."
She immediately got to work and started to send a tracking algorithm she invented to work with tracking through satellites. She looked up and saw them looking at picture of the man that she an Sherlock saw earlier.
"Wait, we saw that guy earlier today, Sherlock." Isis said. "He was the one who you lifted the print from for the scanner."
"Yes, it is him. Jim Garrett, Kelsey James uncle and system manager of this complex." Sherlock explained.
Suddenly alarms started going off, warnings of system failure. "We need to split up." Isis told them. "I can see if I can stall the failure from here. You three head to the power plant. I'll catch up if I can!"
They left Isis and she sat at the computer. She immediately began to bypass the network protection and started a virus to stall the failure. Once it seemed to recycle on standby energy and it's usual circuit, Isis got up and ran to change.
She was outside in a suit when she saw the Hound heading towards the trio. Seeing a wire connected to the power tower close to them, Isis pulled out her bo staff and used it to propel herself up towards it. Once in reach, she used her star to propel down towards the others. Nearing them, Isis flipped off and had her staff at full length before landing in front of Beth.
"Isis, what are you doing?!" Beth screamed.
"Testing something new." Isis told her and activated the stun circuits in her staff. When the staff crackles with energy, she swung it out and batted away the attacking hound. "Looks like it's not electric proof!"
"Lestrade! Isis!" The girls turned and hopped onto the ancient rover. Sherlock drove off as the Hound gave chase.
"Can this thing to any faster?"Beth shouted.
"Not for 20th century technology." Sherlock answered.
The Hound lunged and Isis hit it away with another electrical swipe. This time she hit the joint of the front left leg and noticed it sparking. "Guys, the joints are the main weak spots." She informed them. "If we can get it to pause for a moment, it could be taken out by destroying the joints."
"Your right, Isis! I'm heading to that rock!" Sherlock drove towards a rock formation.
He made a turn last minute to avoid the rock and made it. Can't be said for the Hound! When it was down, Watson and Beth shot the joints to disable it. Sherlock pulled out his cane and opened the power panel to pull the plug to turn it off.
Isis turned off the stun current and retracted the staff just as her phone goes off. She checks it and saw that her algorithm has located the spot of the signal. Gasping, she called to the others.
"I found the signal source! It's exactly where you guys were headed."
"Then there is no time to waste." Sherlock declared. "Quick, we have to get to the power plant.
Everyone boarded the rover and Sherlock drove them to the power plant. Once there, everyone disembarked and Beth blasted the lock before kicking the door open. They enter and Sherlock had to prevent Beth from blasting the door.
"I presume we are expected." He told her and opened the door.
Inside they saw the kids trapped inside a turbine. "The kids!" Beth exclaimed. "Are they okay?"
"They are until the reverse turbine activates." Isis stiffened at that voice. Great I'm going to have nightmares because of him again! "Greetings, Holmes. I was wondering when you and Lestrade arrived."
"Moriarty?! That's impossible we saw his body." Beth said.
"When you eliminate the impossible, whatever means however improbable must be the truth." Sherlock said. Isis felt goosebumps from that famous Sherlock quote. "It's not the real man, Lestrade. He's just a clone, who is just as evil as the original with all the memories intact."
Isis tried to keep herself in the now, but she keeps having flashbacks from when she was Moriarty's lab rat. She snapped out of it when the villain approached them and went to take Beth's hand.
Isis activated her staff with the stun current at full effect and stood between her best friend and the evil mastermind. "Touch her or Sherlock, you will be six feet under Moriarty." She growled, a small hint of wolf peeking through the growl.
"Well, if it isn't my escaped soldier." Moriarty mocked. "How lovely to see you-"
"Shut the fuck up!" Isis would usually watch her language, but what this man put her though she wasn't holding back. "You had my stepfather illegally sell me to you for money and then used me for illegal, unethical experiments with attempts to brainwash me. If you think I will let you near those I love, I wouldn't mind some jail time if it means ending you...permanently."
Moriarty let out an evil laugh. "Still have that fire I see. Although, it's peculiar that you claimed your father not to be related to you since he said your the eldest child."
Isis smirked. "Eldest child of the family, yes, but he's not my biological father! In other words, I'm not his true eldest child!" Seeing Moriarty become pissed, Isis got into a fighting stance. "For a criminal mastermind, you failed to notice the most obvious loophole of that deal!"
Sherlock cleared his throat. Isis deflected the ion blasts from Fenwick back towards him. She watched as he landed on the ground, momentarily stunned. Moriarty swatted Beth's blaster from her hands, causing it to shoot the ceiling to cause the group to cover their heads. The exhaust turbine started activating and Isis knew Moriarty did it while they were distracted. Sherlock activated his came and swatted the blaster away from the villain.
"Get Garrick and the kids out of there!" Isis goes to stand with him, but he holds her back. "No, Lestrade will need your help getting them out."
"It's my fight too, Sherlock!" She looked at him. "He deserves the whooping I plan to give him!"
Sherlock made eye contact with Isis. "I know, but the children should be your first priority."
Knowing he's right, Isis backed away. "Alright, but if you are in any danger I am intervening." She retracts her staff. "Be careful, Sherlock!" Turns around and runs after Beth.
Reaching the turbine, Isis accessed the mainframe panel and used her phone to back in. She turned to Beth. "I'm going to make the turbine controls obey me. Once the air current is neutralized, pull them out. We have to be quick because I don't know how long I can fight that asshole's system."
Beth nods and goes to enter the turbine. Isis immediately began to hack, looking up she sees her friend with rope tied to her waist and secured to the entrance. Looking back to her phone, Isis immediately stalled the turbine and signaled Beth to begin extraction. There were pop ups for immediate restart, but Isis had managed to keep the turbine stalled until the last victim was extracted.
Exiting the system, Isis reactivated her staff, then pressed a button to turn it into two eskrima sticks. She ran towards the fight and saw Sherlock throw Moriarty off him. Immediately, Isis pounced and started swinging. The villain dodged her attacks and managed to grab hold of her wrists, which she retaliates with a headbutt to make him let go. Sherlock pulls her back and behind him just as Watson came in with the Hound. Moriarty escaped to his craft, but not without a certain monster hitching a ride. Isis ran towards the computer after the mastermind got away.
"He has me locked out!" Garrick panicked. "My thumbprint won't register! Only his can let me in!"
Isis looked at her wrists. "Sherlock, your tape!" He tosses it to her and she used it to lift the print need from her wrist. "Use this, hurry!"
Garrick managed to access it and restored control. Then the system failure reminder happened again. Beth goes to put the motherboards back in their places. Isis helped Garrick stop the failure and succeeded.
Needing a break, Isis went against a wall and sat down. She didn't know she had fallen asleep until a slight movement jostled her awake. Opening her eyes, she got a bleary vision of someone carrying her.
"Go back to sleep,Isis " the person said. "You went through a traumatic experience. I will wake you when you're needed."
Isis hummed and closed her eyes again, unknowingly snuggling closer to the person carrying her. When she woke up, she was back at Baker Street. Seeing she was lying in her bed, Isis tried to recall how she got there. Remembering what seemed like a dream, Isis recalled the Sherlock had carried her from the moon all the way back to 221B. Noticing she was still in her clothes, the young woman got up and went to find the detective. First place she checked was his room and saw no one. Next place was the study and it looked like he was there recently, but left it. Just as she was about to call Watson for help, her enhanced sense of smell caught something wafting through the air. Following her nose, Isis entered the kitchen to the great detective... making soup?
"Sherlock?" She asked. He turned around in surprise. "How long have I been out?"
He turns the stove off and goes to her. "The majority of the day." He informs her, looking for any sign of harm. "I was cooking you something to bring up to your room. Now that you are here, I can safely assume you're in good health."
Isis sighed. "After facing Moriarty, I will need to come to grasp that I manage to face him again. Also," she looked at him. "I am so sorry Sherlock for not telling you about my connection to Moriarty. I was trying not to cause problems for this universe by revealing what is before it's destined time."
Sherlock touched her cheek and Isis felt her heart flutter. "I understand, Isis. I even made an excuse to Lestrade for you. What you went through was traumatic and you were scared what would happen if you tell her his name. " He assured her.
Isis hugged Sherlock and felt safe when he hugged he hugged her back. Isis recalled what she said back on the Moon and knew one thing...
She's going have to tell him her feelings and hope he feels the same way.
Chapter 10: Warning to Sister, Movie Night with the Detective
Summary:
Isis finally worked up the nerve to call her original universe. Basically warning a sibling and plotting someone's demise. Later introduces Sherlock to a movie from her universe. Who knew he liked to cuddle?
Chapter Text
It has been nearly a week since the Hound Case. Isis had to deal with questions from the yard and worry from both Beth, Watson, and the Irregulars. The only one who kept her sane during the time was Sherlock. He had kept her busy with talks about their centuries and lives before being in the 22nd. Also, played mind game scenarios which she had found to be fun with him. It was when they were talking about siblings when Isis mentioned having a half sister, who has a small family of her own yet is worried that the dick of a stepfather might do something to her. She then mentioned how she created an interdimensional chip for her mobile to call her universe, but was too afraid of it failing and not warning her sister. Sherlock understood and convinced her to try, promising to be with her when she makes the call.
Which leads to the two sitting in the study with Isis scrolling through her phone contacts with Sherlock sitting next to her. Finding her sister's name, she hesitated from the fear she still felt. Feeling a hand on her shoulder, she looked up to see Sherlock with a small smile and felt a sense of comfort from him. Isis smiled back and looked back at her phone. Accessing her sister's contact information, she did a video call and held her breath as she started to hear the dial tone.
The call connected and the face of her sister appeared. "Isis!" She looked at her in shock. "Where are you?! Dad told everyone that you took off without a note! Are you ok?! What happened?!"
"Ana, stop!" Isis demanded. When her sister went quiet, she continued. "Ana, your so-called father lied to you and everyone. He had a debt that no one knew about and used me to pay it off. As to where I am, you won't believe me."
Ana was stunned and Isis knew she had to tell her the whole story. When she finished, she said "I have all the evidence needed to finish your father. I am sorry, Ana, but I'm doing this to warn you and protect from him."
Ana gave her sister a sad smile. "I know and I know you are being serious about the truth. That man is no blood father of mine after the immoral act he committed. I will help you, on one condition "
Isis nodded. "If it's finding away to transport to and fro the realities, I have some ideas."
Ana gave a small laugh and shook her head. "That is one condition, but I was hoping to meet Mr. Sherlock Holmes to talk about a plan."
Isis gave a small blush, pretending to act embarrassed for assuming what her sister wanted and not being nervous of introducing the said man next to her. Her phone was taken out of her hand and she turned to Sherlock who was now looking at her sister.
"Hello, miss. I believe you wanted to see me. I'm Sherlock Holmes."
"Holy Shit! You're hot!"
Isis bursts into laughter and laughed harder at seeing the blush on Sherlock's face. She couldn't help it! Her sister said something so random and it's usually herself who says random things. As she laughed, Isis heard the two introduce each other and were talking about plans to put her stepfather away for good. Once she calmed down, she put in some ideas and reminded her sister how notorious the media can be with the right ammo for information. With that idea in mind, the trio came up with a plan and Isis promised her sister that they would get the rest of their friends on board.
Sherlock got up. "I'm sorry, ladies, but I have something that needs to be done. It was nice talking to you, Ana. Hope we meet in person soon. Isis, don't rush and just enjoy talking to your sister."
"Bye, Detective!/Will see you in a moment, Sherlock." The sisters said.
Hearing the door closed, Ana spoke. "So when is he taking you on a date?"
"Ana!" Isis exclaimed, blushing. "One: We are not dating! Two: I am afraid to tell him about how I feel."
Ana sighed. "Izzy, you have had this crush on him for years. Now that you are in a place where he exists, you need to let the detective know how you truly feel about him. Besides, he totally has feelings for you. Don't give me that look!" Isis had given her a skeptical look. "He couldn't stop looking at you, gives you looks of affection when you were not looking at him, and kept trying to keep you close to him whenever you scoot a bit a way."
Isis stared at her sister. "What if you're wrong?" She whispered.
Ana gave her a sad smile. "I will be here to listen and talk you through the heartbreak." She looks up and Isis heard a door opening. "Gotta go, Lex is back with the kids."
"Bye, Ana, be careful!" Isis told her, then hung up. "Better make sure Sherlock is alright."
She gets up and leaves the study. Wandering through the home, Isis neared his bedroom and heard some sounds of movement inside.
"Sherlock, everything alright?"
"Just a moment." Isis waited and the door opened. "Isis, how did the talk go after I left?"
Isis smiled. "Went pretty well. Thank you for talking me into doing it. You were right, there was no reason to fear."
"Glad to hear it." Sherlock said and looked at the time on the clock in the hall. " I daresay it's getting quite late. Should we order in?"
Isis thought for a moment. "How about you place an order for delivery and I will set up the sitting room for a movie. We can watch one of the films I have on my mobile. Just need to grab a white sheet, some tape, and one of my projectors."
About an hour later, the duo were sitting on the floor surrounded by pillows and blankets. Sherlock had called for some pizza and Isis had set everything up to show one of her favorite movies. They are halfway through the movie and had finished the pizza when Isis let out a loud yawn. She was going to apologize when she felt a blanket wrap around her. Isis blushed and sent a silent thanks with her empathic powers. Sherlock responded with a soft smile and, to her joy and surprise, pulled her closer to wrap and arm around her. Recalling what Ana told her, Isis decided to test the waters by cuddling into his side. His response was keeping her pressed against him and she felt the warmth feeling hit her full blast.
Except she can now understand the sterling's meaning:
Soul Mate Bond.
Isis definitely needs to tell Sherlock her feelings.
Chapter 11: Dating A 19th Century Detective

Chapter Text
Isis was on her hover surfboard, heading back to Baker Street after doing some errands with a small gift for Sherlock. Since she had contact her sister, Isis had her help with not only getting back at her stepfather, but bounce ideas on what to do for a first date. Yup, she's planning to ask Sherlock out and hoping they would become a couple.
Landing in front of 221B, Isis got off and removed Sherlock's gift from a storage compartment before have her board shift into its pack mode. After all is set, she went into the building and still feels giddy when considering it her home. Hearing some music notes, Isis smiled softly as she walked towards the tune. She enters the study and sees Sherlock learning the basics of the 22nd Century instrument he recently acquired.
After talking to her sister, Sherlock had been switching between cases in this universe and helping Isis with her case. He actually helped her find the codes that work with time and space in the algorithm Moriarty used before. Isis would also tell him to take some time for himself and suggested trying a new instrument.
Walking further into the study, Isis spoke up. "Hey, Sherlock. Sorry to interrupt, but can spare a minute?"
Sherlock paused his lesson and turned to her. "Ah, Isis! Hope your outing went well." Notices a wrapped parcel in her arms."What do you have there?"
Isis started to get nervous and had to take a deep breath to calm down. "You see, I got you an outfit to help be incognito when in public. Reason I did that was... well, to be honest I'm kind of new to this thing..." Isis blushed. "I was wondering if you would go out on a date with me tonight?"
Sherlock blinked. "A date? As in you and me go out to get to know each other?"
Isis nodded. She was too nervous to speak and was looking down, refusing to make eye contact.
Sherlock put down his instrument and got up. He walked over to her and lift her head up to face him. Isis looked to see a smile on his face and a find look in his eyes.
"I would enjoy joining you tonight for a date." He takes the parcel from her. "What time should we leave?"
Isis blushed again. "I got us a 6 pm reservation at a restaurant I found a couple months ago. After that, there is an Open Mic Night at a cafe I sometimes frequent when not busy. Hope that is okay?"
Hours later, Sherlock(in the civilian wear that was gifted to him) and Isis were leaving the restaurant with smiles and talking about what they expect to see at the cafe. They had used Sherlock's hovercar, with the detective driving, to get to their reservation. Upon arrival, Sherlock got out and helped Isis out of the car(she was blushing again! Yup, Sherlock has that effect on her!) and they walked up to the restaurant, which served authentic Japanese cuisine. They sat down and talked about their lives and hobbies before entering the future. Isis spoke some Japanese to the waiter and explained to Sherlock what to say in thanks before and after eating their meal. Dinner went well and now they were getting in to the hovercar to head to the cafe.
As they drove, Isis was telling about this prank some friends of hers played on her. "I swear, I have no memory waking up and reacting! The next day,my friends started laughing, but stopped when I was confused. Had to explain the prank they pulled and I was laughing after that."
Sherlock let out a laugh. "Something like that had to occur more than once. How many times before that?"
Isis let out an embarrassed laugh. "3 or 4, but it was mainly at my parent's place. Mom had to sneak me out of my sister's room because she missed me and wanted me to share her room. I never recalled those moments, but mom would say I responded as if I was awake."
They told each other stories until they reached the cafe. Once the car was parked, the duo went inside and were seated near the stage. They placed their orders for some tea and a small dessert to share. They watched as the manager had called names out of acts who signed up before hand.
It was halfway through the show and the two pushed their chairs together so they could talk quietly as the acts performed. At some point, Isis fell out of her chair laughing and had to be helped up by Sherlock, who was laughing as well, during a pretty funny comedic act. After that, Isis was leaning against Sherlock who in turn took one of her hands in his as the show was winding down to the end.
It was when the last act was supposed to happen when the manager was back on stage with a sad look on their face. "Sorry, folks, but our final performer had gotten stage fright and is feeling ill. Unless somebody wants to come up and play a rock song, the stage is yours."
Isis was tempted, but didn't want to since she felt like it was ditching her date. A squeeze of her hand and Isis looked at Sherlock. He gave her an encouraging look and she sense positive vibes towards her from him.
Looking to the stage, Isis called out. "I'll do it!"
Going up to the DJ, she asked to use his computer. Once given permission, Isis logged into her music store account and pulled up a karaoke version of song she wanted to sing. Giving the DJ instructions, she left to get on center stage to perform on the microphone set up there. Signaling the DJ she was ready, the opening tune of Gotta Be Somebody plays and she sings when the cue came up.
"
This time, I wonder what it feels like
To find the one in this life
The one we all dream of
But dreams just aren't enough
So I'll be waiting for the real thing, I'll know it by the feeling
The moment when we're meeting
Will play out like a scene
Straight off the silver screen
So I'll be holding my breath, right up 'til the end
Until that moment when I find the one that I'll spend forever with
'Cause nobody wants to be the last one there
'Cause everyone wants to feel like someone cares
Someone to love with my life in their hands
There's gotta be somebody for me like that
'Cause nobody wants to go it on their own (on their own)
And everyone wants to know they're not alone (not alone)
There's somebody else that feels the same somewhere (same somewhere)
There's gotta be somebody for me out there
Tonight, out on the street, out in the moonlight
And dammit, this feels too right
It's just like déjà vu
Me, standing here with you
So I'll be holding my breath, could this be the end?
Is it that moment when I find the one that I'll spend forever with?
'Cause nobody wants to be the last one there
'Cause everyone wants to feel like someone cares
Someone to love with my life in their hands
There's gotta be somebody for me like that
'Cause nobody wants to go it on their own (on their own)
And everyone wants to know they're not alone (not alone)
There's somebody else that feels the same somewhere (same somewhere)
There's gotta be somebody for me out there
Ooh, you can't give up
(When you're looking for) a diamond in the rough
('Cause you never know) when it shows up
(Make sure you're holding on) 'cause it could be the one
The one you're waiting on
'Cause nobody wants to be the last one there
And everyone wants to feel like someone cares
Someone to love with my life in their hands
There's gotta be somebody for me, oh
Nobody wants to go it on their own (on their own)
And everyone wants to know they're not alone (not alone)
There's somebody else that feels the same somewhere (same somewhere)
There's gotta be somebody for me out there
Nobody wants to be the last one there (when you're looking for)
'Cause everyone wants to feel like someone cares ('cause you never know)
There's somebody else that feels the same somewhere (make sure you're holding on)
There's gotta be somebody for me out there"
The cafe was in uproar of cheers, whistling, and clapping. Isis got down, blushing redder and redder as she approached the table with her date. Sherlock was full blown smiling with a blush of his own. When the manager announced that the event was over, the two went back to the car and went home to Baker Street.
The car was silent with a bearable tension. Isis was softly humming the song to herself and felt the familiar warm feeling of Sherlock's soul radiating brighter as she did. Arriving at their home, the two got out , but Sherlock stopped Isis from opening the door.
"Isis, I need to say something before we turn in for the night." She looks at him. "Tonight was fantastic and I enjoyed every moment with you. I will admit, I was skeptical on how dating now is different from my time, but you proved to me that it was still the same even with all these changes. I just want know from you...if you truly felt that way from the song you sang?"
Isis looked down, nodding. "I have always admired you, Sherlock." She admits shyly. "Even before your restoration. After getting to know you better, the admiration turned into something more and I was afraid to accept it in fear of it not returned." Taking a deep breath to calm herself, she continued. "I like you a lot, Sherlock Holmes. That's what I truly feel towards you."
Sherlock pulled her into a hug, but Isis noticed how close his face was to hers. So calling up all the courage she had, the young woman gave the detective a light kiss on the lips. He returned it with one that reflected how he felt, including from what her empathic ability picked up: happiness, acceptance, and... love.
The moment was broken when they separated after hearing the door open.
"Holmes, Miss Isis, welcome back! Hurry in before you both catch something." Watson said, oblivious to what had just happened.
Chapter 12: Fake Death, Scare Girlfriend
Summary:
We enter another episode and this one had me debating how to go around it. Finally came up with how to play it for Isis: Isis was hanging out with Irregulars while Sherlock said he had a small case and didn't need back up. When she gets some news, Isis knew what episode it was and had some words to speak to the detective after capturing a descendant of one of Moriarty's men.
Chapter Text
The relationship between Isis and Sherlock was going smoothly. They had took turns planning each of their dates after the first one. Beth was happy for them, even talked about it with Isis' sister, Ana, when Isis introduced them over video call. Watson was happy to see Sherlock having a life outside cases and had a friend in Isis. The Irregulars were happy for the two, especially joking around how the two are the parents of their "dysfunctional family" dynamic(which had the two laughing and would play along). Isis and Sherlock also gotten much more closer to the point that there were a few incidents of somebody walking in on the while they were making out. Let's just say that when a door is closed in 221B you should always knock for now on.
One day, Isis walked to the study knowing her boyfriend was in there. Sherlock had been busy the last few days and she wanted to take him out to hangout at the arcade with the Irregulars. Knocking on the door, Isis heard him call her in and smiled when he called her name.
"Hey, dear heart," Isis greeted upon entering. "Hope I'm not interrupting anything."
Sherlock logged off the computer and turned to her. "Of course not, love. Just looking through a case I'm working on."
Isis looked interested. "Really? Anything I can do to help?" She asked as she stopped at his desk and leaned against it.
Sherlock got up and gave his girlfriend a kiss on her forehead. "Nothing that I can't handle right away. What did you need anyway?"
"I was wondering if you want to come with me to hangout with the kids?" Isis asked. "You have been so busy and I thought getting out for a while might keep your brain from burning out." She held his hands as she gave her reasoning.
"Unfortunately, I can not tonight." Sherlock told her. "I am about to head out to wrap up this case. You go and have fun. Tell the Irregulars I send my regards, will you?"
Isis smiled at him and gave him a small kiss on the lips. "I will, Sherlock. Just come back to me safe and sound."
The detective smiled and they kissed once more before he left.
Isis was playing a blaster game with Wiggins and Deidre, Tennyson was keeping score. She arrived at the arcade in time to play a few games with the Irregulars before their friends compete in a laser tournament. The kids were only slightly bummed when Sherlock couldn't make it, but we're glad he was finishing a case and sent his regards.
As the group played, someone came up and surprised Deidre. Isis looked over when she heard the girl call the person "Ronnie!". She paused at what she was doing, trying to remember where she had seen this moment before. Soon the game ended, and it showed that Isis won. The group followed Ronnie to the arena and went to the spectator section. When they announced the teams, Isis froze when she heard "Thomas Moran". She may have difficulty remembering the episode, but she can recall a story where one of Moriarty's henchmen had a surname: Moran. Recalling how Moran was a professional sniper, Isis watched the match and noticed how this Moran had the same amplitude as the past sniper. She knew he was a descendant and suddenly had a terrible feeling come over her.
As the match continued, Isis sensed confusion amongst the players. She pinpointed it to Ronnie and saw him look at his blaster. Recalling how they were to have a 10 second recharge, Isis saw how his blaster recharged in less. Looking at the other players, she noticed the opposing team had to wait full 10 seconds and not Ronnie nor Moran. Then Isis remembered that Moran gave the blaster to Ronnie before the tournament. When Ronnie walked out and headed to the door, she followed him and pulled the kid aside.
"I saw what was going on." She told him. "I know you have nothing to do with. If you have proof, come by later to 221B Baker Street. The detective and I will help clear your name."
When Ronnie nodded, Isis left him to meet with the Irregulars. They talked about the match and Isis said they should get a snack before heading home. The group was leaving the arcade when Isis got a call from her communicator.
"Go for Isis." She answered the call.
"Isis!" It was Watson. He looked frantic. "Thank goodness you are alright!"
"Watson, calm down or you'll overload your programming." Isis told him. "I have been with the Irregulars all night. Why are you concerned?"
"Isis, it's Holmes!" Isis heart stopped. "He's...gone."
It was that moment when Isis recalled the episode.
And how it started.
Isis had used her backpack flight mode to get home, not trusting to surf the air when her mind was in turmoil. If she had remembered before he left, Sherlock wouldn't have faced Moriarty alone. As soon as she was at 221B, Isis went inside and found Watson pacing in the study. When he saw her, the compudroid was fretting about her and checking to health. Isis had to use her telekinesis to make her friend stop and sat down at the desk before demanding to know what he saw.
After the explanation, Isis was trying not to cry. She knew how the episode plays out, but she had wanted to ensure Sherlock didn't go through what happened after being brought back to life recently. Yet, as she pondered this a few tears went down her cheeks.
"Isis," Watson gently placed his hand on her shoulder. "Will you be okay?"
Seeing the genuine concern on his face, Isis wiped away her tears and nodded. "I will be fine eventually. I just need to lie down. Who knows, when I wake up it might be just a nightmare." She got up and started to leave the study. "Night Watson. Come find me if Beth comes by with a case."
Isis went upstairs and into Sherlock's room. She looked around at his books and science equipment. Seeing his bed, Isis immediately went to it. Lying down and hugging one of his pillows, Isis cried herself to sleep.
Hours later, she woke up to someone gently shaking her awake. "Isis, wake up. We are needed for a case."
They entered the lab and Isis gasped.
"Oh my god, Ronnie!" She ran to the teens side and sensed him. She felt his fear and sent a wave of calm and reassurance to ensure him that everything would be alright.
"You know him?" Beth asked.
"Yeah, I met him tonight at the arcade. The Irregulars invited Sherlock and I to play some games and to watch the tournament he was competing in. Ronnie saw someone was cheating at the same time I did. Told him to come to Baker Street if he found proof to help his case. Guess someone found out and put him in a cryostasis."
She goes to the window and looks outside as Watson and Beth did their bit from the episode. Isis noticed a small bit a frost on the window pane and saw how nothing had destroyed inside or outside. Getting to eye level with it, she used the frost to pinpoint where the shooter was and see if they had a clear shot. Hearing someone enter, Isis turned around to see an officer manhandling an old man.
As the scene from the episode plays out, Isis got a good look at the newcomer. He looked young with an old man appearance and his eyes she knew were familiar. Then hearing his voice, Isis immediately knew who it was.
Sherlock was in front of them in disguise!
She even had to prevent herself from laughing when he criticized the officer claiming to be a "law-abiding citizen". Isis stood by the window and watched everything play out. When he dropped the smoke grenade, Isis held her breath and used her powers connected to him. Feeling the familiar warmth from his soul, Isis sent the same warmth from her soul which had the disguised detective look back at her for a moment before taking off. Letting out her breath, she began to hack from the remaining smoke.
Now she just had to corner her boyfriend at...
... the arcade.
Isis excused herself so she can let Beth and Watson interview the teams. She wanted to wait at a nearby game console to intercept Sherlock. Isis saw him the same time Watson did and told the other two to head back to the scene to find more clues while she tries to find the point system at the arcade. She followed the way Sherlock went in and found the door to the scoring system. Isis entered and waited for a moment after the door shut.
"If you want to continue playing dead," she said out loud. "You might want me in the loop so I don't have to worry about you so much."
Sherlock came out, still playing the old man. "I am afraid I have no idea what you are talking about, Miss."
Isis turned to him, a smirk on her face. "Your escape was a giveaway saying you weren't exactly that okd, or as old as you appeared. Also, I know your face and eyes, Sherlock. Not to mention you need a voice modulator because despite your best effort I still recognize your voice, dear heart."
A familiar chuckle had her blushing. "Eyes and Brains, my love. Eyes and Brains." Sherlock broke character and smiled at her. "Seems I should've more faith in you. You did well on finding out my disguise if what happened at the lab was anything to go by."
Isis ran to him and hugged him tightly. He returned the hug just as tight.
Isis was getting everything together to pull off the decoy plan. She heard the door open and turned around to see Sherlock and Watson had entered the study. At the arcade, Isis told the detective everything she knew, including what she witnessed at the tournament and what she told Ronnie. Sherlock told her to head back to Baker Street and prepare for another part of his plan.
"Hello, Watson." Isis greeted the droid. Turns to Sherlock. "Everything is ready, but just needs one thing to make it really."
Sherlock put on a spare Iverness on his decoy and the trio turned off the light to hide. There was a shatter and the three looked to see a broken window and a frozen decoy.
"Looks like a definite kill shot. The difference is that they tampered with the device to avoid damage and not kill Ronnie." Isis observed. "It means he was close to Ronnie, practically knew him and saw him as a friend." She turns to the detective and droid. "Remember the sniper you tricked on your return from the Falls Incident? He has a descendant and I know who it is. Robin's teammate, Thomas Moran."
The trio went to the arcade. Sherlock and Watson were playing bait while Isis hides in the arena to ambush Moran. She heard the blasting and counted down to when Sherlock and Watson would enter. Isis was hiding in a small nook on the ceiling for the ambush when the two came in. She used her animal senses and heard the approach of Moran. The mercenary entered the arena and started blasting. He stepped forward in position of her point of ambush. She jumped down and used both feet to land on Moran's shoulders, knocking him down and the weapon out of his hand. Isis used her telekinesis to pin him. Watson pulled out some cuffs and arrested the kid. The trio went out and gave him to Beth.
Isis woke up, breathing heavy and heart pounding. Looking around, she saw she was in her room at 221 B. Getting up, she got out of bed with sweat shorts and a loose tank top for pajamas. She walked out of her room, closed the door and went to Sherlock's. Knocking gently, Isis waited, but opened the door when she didn't hear anything. Seeing her boyfriend alive and sleeping eased her soul, but was afraid to sleep alone tonight.
"Sherlock!" She whispered loudly. "Sherlock!"
He stirred and sat up, look at her with bleary eyes. His pajamas was a t-shirt and pajama pants. Isis leaned further into his room.
"I can't sleep! I had a nightmare where... Can I sleep with you tonight?" Isis asked.
"Of course. Come in." Sherlock answered and made room on his bed.
Isis entered his room and closed the door. She rushed to his bedside and he lifted the top sheets for to get in. Isis crawled in and laid down. Sherlock covers the both of them and looks at his girlfriend.
"What was the nightmare?" He asked. When Isis shook her head, Sherlock wrapped his arms around her. "You can tell me, Isis. I won't judge you."
Isis took a shuddering breath as the nightmare came back into her mind. "You didn't come back." She said, softly. "You died from that sanitation grid. I was at a funeral and I couldn't help but think that I should've been there. I should've been there to save you."
Sherlock pulled her in and tighten his arms. "Watson told me how you reacted to the news. He saw you cry and when he went to wake you, he noticed you cried yourself to sleep right here in this room." He kissed her head. "I am so sorry I had made you feel that. It was never my intention to do that to you."
Isis looked up at him and saw the sorrow on his face. She connected with him and sent him feelings of love and forgiveness to him. Then gave him a kiss to show her feelings for him never changed. He returned it and both separated to snuggle together to sleep.
Isis slept in peace, safe in her detective's arms.
Chapter 13: Full Moon Secrets
Summary:
Ok going to reveal the animal secret, but make it like a pun due to it happening on a full moon. get it?
Chapter Text
Isis had finished putting her clothes into Sherlock's room. After that case involving the Moran kid, Isis had been having nightmares back to back for a few weeks. It kept switching to her time as Moriarty's lab rat to Sherlock actually dying again. The only time she felt properly rested was when she was snuggling in bed with Sherlock. If it mean sneaking in small make out sessions in the morning and evening, it is totally worth it. Eventually, Sherlock offered her to move into his room and she accepted.
As she placed her last shirt in a drawer, Isis felt a tingle go through and looked around. Not seeing nor sensing someone, Isis was confused until she looked into the mirror at the dresser. Her face was partially shifted into her animal form. Feeling dread and fear, Isis grabbed her phone and looked up a lunar chart.
It was a full moon.
Her phone fell onto the floor from her limp hand.
Last time this happen was sometime after her escape. Isis had woken up in fear from a nightmare and found herself turned into a GIANT WOLF. When she looked outside, there was a full moon. Apparently the bad guys had somehow turned her into a werewolf. Isis tried her best to keep it a secret, even soundproof her room turned work room so Sherlock and Watson never found out.
Looking out the window, Isis saw that it had turned night and felt the change being forced on her after suppressing it for so long. Due to her lack of shifting, the poor woman has to deal with an instant shift on every full moon night. Seeing it was too late to get to her old room, Isis had no choice, but shift in her boyfriend's room.
She fell to the ground as her limbs turned into wolf legs and face took a canine shape. Her body covered in silvery white fur and her eyes go full silver like the moon. After the shift, Isis was a 3 foot wolf and was silently crying that her biggest secret she feared is about to be exposed so soon.
There was a knock on the door. "Isis, are you in there?" Sherlock called out.
Panicking, Isis immediately ran towards a desk in the room to try to hide under it, but tripped over her own feet and tumbled into the wall. There was a loud thud and she let out a whine of pain. Well, that gave Sherlock the excuse to open the door to see the racket and looked at her in shock.
Isis curled into a ball, placed her front paws over her face in an attempt to hide it. She was scared that Sherlock was going to either run and call the police which would cause the government to come after her.
"Isis?" She peeked up at her boyfriend. "Is that you?"
The young wolf covered her face and whined again. She briefly connected with Sherlock to give him the feeling of confirmation before disconnecting, not wanting to feel any negative emotions from him. Imagine her surprise when the detective slowly approached her, got down on his knees, and started to pet her.
"I always wondered why you act weird on full moon nights." Sherlock explained. "I noticed you tend to close yourself up on your small workshop during those monthly nights. It made me concerned so when you had went out to play some music in the city I had entered your room to look for clues. I will admit you did very well hiding most of your evidence, but you missed somethings. There were marks on the floor that were hidden by your work desk and underneath the rug by your bed. On said rug, I found white hair, which upon further analysis was wolf fur." Isis had moved her paws from her face and was staring at her boyfriend as he continued. "I knew you didn't had pets and you once told me you would rather have a cat as a pet because they are clever creatures. Since you didn't have a pet nor a cat around, I deduced that it was somehow from you. Yet, I still wonder how it was possible."
Isis looked for clues that he was thinking about turning her end and saw that Sherlock just wanted to know why she kept it a secret nor told him sooner. Isis slowly inched her head onto his lap and gave a soft whine. She heard and felt him chuckle as he started to scratch behind her ear before heading him laugh as her tail wagged. Isis connected with Sherlock and sent feelings of apologies, trust, and love to him. He sent them back to her, understanding she can't speak in full form.
Since Watson was out helping the Yard with Beth that night, Isis roamed the house with Sherlock to either cuddle with him, eat together, or have him examine her to make sure she was alright. Eventually, they both had to turn in and Isis still snuggled with Sherlock in bed, just curled up next to him.
Isis woke up with some mild pain in her body. She stretched and noticed she was human again. Now if anyone read the myths, usually if a werewolf shifts their clothes are basically destroyed since they are made for humans. Isis looked around and saw her clothes shredded on the floor.
Floor of Sherlock's room.
She finally remembered she was naked after shifting back in her sleep when the sun started to rise. That's when she noticed she was covered with a blanket under the covers.
Did Sherlock do this?! Isis thought to herself before rushing out of bed and threw on some pjs.
She found her boyfriend in the study, practicing some scales on his futuristic instrument. Clearing her throat, Isis got his attention before entering the study and closing the store.
"I owe you an explanation." She told the detective and began to explain about the serum that was injected into her the night of her escape, believing that someone supplied it to Moriarty so he can perfect it to be weaponized.
After the explanation, Sherlock put down his instrument and held open his arms. Isis immediately ran into them and started to cry. Sherlock soothed her with kind words, gentle back rubs, and kisses on the head. When it was all done, Isis used her powers to silently ask if he will keep everything a secret until answers were found.
Sherlock had her look at him to see him nod. Then, he asked aloud. "Can you shift while day time?" To answer him, Isis turned her ears into wolf ears. "Amazing! I have so many questions, but I think that can wait until after breakfast."
Isis nodded, then remembered something. "Sherlock, where did the blanket come from?"
Chapter 14: Time to Rock
Summary:
So Sherlock is in the know of her animal side and is actually cool with it. Now let's see if he doesn't mind her rocking personality when it comes to music.
Chapter Text
A week later finds Isis and Sherlock closer than before, especially when the detective helps with keeping the wolf a secret. When it's just them at Baker Street, Isis would usually shift her ears, canine s, eyes, and tail just so she had more control over her shifting come the next full moon. Sherlock would even tell her she looked adorable just to see her tail wag and make her blush. When out in public or around people in close vicinity is when they agreed that it isn't safe to show any signs of the wolf. Not to mention it to the others they were ok with until answers were found on how Moriarty got the serum.
Now Isis was just chilling in the shared bedroom, tuning her electric guitar. She was planning to take it out into town to play for some quick cash. Already had some songs in mind, too. Just as she finished tuning, Her communicator went off and saw it was Tennyson.
"Hey, Ten! What's-" Binary code starts coming through in high speed. "Josh, hold a moment! Your going to fast!" Apologetic beeps sounded. "It's fine, just take a deep breath and tell me slowly what is wrong." Series of binary came at a regular pace . "Let me get this straight: you guys are at an open audition for a club that is opening soon based on the 21st century and found out that a performer bailed last minute. 1:how did you three get in? 2:why involve me?" More code. "You guys did WHAT?! You know what, you are lucky I was planning to go out to play my guitar today. I will grab my flight tech and case, then meet you guys there. Just need to give Sherlock a heads up." More code. "You three better be out of there before I arrive. I doubt it's a club for minors." She hung up and went to get ready to go.
Isis got out of the car and looked back at her boyfriend who was getting out the driver side. "Getting better with the driving, dear heart. You still need to learn to bank corners though."
Sherlock walked around the vehicle and offered her his arm. "Says the one who does freefall for fun." He remarks, smirking at her eye roll. "You have everything?" He asked as they started walking to the club entrance.
Isis nodded. "I even had some recordings for background music and vocals."
They entered the club and saw some people judging a performer. Isis thought the performer was good, but her music wasn't really touching the theme of the club. S
The duo walked up to the judges and talked to one of them. Isis was lead to backstage while Sherlock was to watch from in the room. She opened her case and fastened her guitar to her. Then plugged the hip amp she made into it before attaching it to her belt. Taking out a disk from the case, she waved over the stage hand near her and gave instructions to be done with the disk to the DJ. After all was said and done, Isis hoped her style was enough to please the judges as well as her music. She wore a rock tour shirt from when she saw one of her favorite bands perform live with a woman's leather jacket over it. Her pants were some ripped jeans with a leather belt and shoes were some high top sneakers. Another stage hand approached Isis and told her she was up next.
Isis walked onto the stage and got into position. She signaled the track number of what recording to play and got her electric guitar ready to play. When the DJ signaled her cue, Isis began to play one of her favorite Linkin Park songs.
"
I remembered black skies
The lightning all around me
I remembered each flash
As time began to blur
Like a startling sign
That fate had finally found me
And your voice was all I heard
That I get what I deserve
So give me reason
To prove me wrong
To wash this memory clean
Let the floods cross
The distance in your eyes
Give me reason
To fill this hole
Connect this space between
Let it be enough to reach the truth that lies
Across this new divide
There was nothing in sight
But memories left abandoned
There was nowhere to hide
The ashes fell like snow
And the ground caved in
Between where we were standing
And your voice was all I heard
That I get what I deserve
So give me reason
To prove me wrong
To wash this memory clean
Let the floods cross
The distance in your eyes
Across this new divide
In every loss, in every lie
In every truth that you'd deny
And each regret, and each goodbye
Was a mistake too great to hide
And your voice was all I heard
That I get what I deserve
So give me reason
To prove me wrong
To wash this memory clean
Let the floods cross
The distance in your eyes
Give me reason
To fill this hole
Connect this space between
Let it be enough to reach the truth that lies
Across this new divide
Across this new divide
Across this new divide"
-New Divide, Linkin Park
Isis signaled the DJ to pause and looked at Sherlock and the judges.
As soon as she was outside, Isis started to cheer and dance! She was approved to be one of the main performers for the new club. She heard Sherlock laugh at her antics turned to smile at him.
"How do you like 21st century rock?"
"I thought it would be more drastic." Sherlock admitted. "More screaming and lyrics not making any sense I was expecting."
Isis laughed. "Trust me, if you hear me rock out you will hear me do that."
Sherlock put on a dramatic show of dismay, which he started laughing after Isis laughed harder at his play.
Chapter 15: Creature Out of the Bag
Summary:
Got to the point where the reveal of how Isis can makeshift is at hand. Oh, I'm going to have fun with this!
Chapter Text
Isis has been busy between doing her gigs at the new club and helping Sherlock with cases. She would find time just to be with her friends and boyfriend just so she doesn't go insane. Her favorite moments were when the couple would just be in each other's company at home, his surprise appearances when she performs, and going out to spend time with either the Irregulars or Beth and Watson. As for her furry problem, Isis is still trying to find a way to get evidence that someone sold Moriarty the formula that caused it. On her call with her sister, Ana saw her slightly shift when Sherlock unknowingly scared her. Ana was concerned, but relieved Isis can control it when not completely spooked. She even told Isis to hold off any interdimensional projects that would help get just for the eldest once answers were found for the wolf shifter.
One day, Isis woke up when she felt Sherlock out of bed. She was lethargic in her movements and slightly bleary eyed as she sat up. Looking out the window, Isis saw that it was just dawn and let out a tired sigh.
"Dear heart, why are you up so early?" She asked her boyfriend, watching him dress. "It's supposed to be our day off together. Why are you awake?"
Sherlock had put on his pants and belt before she woke up. He was now putting on his shirt with his tie and waistcoat lying on a nearby desk. "Watson got a call from Lestrade about a domestic turned missing person case." He explained as he finished getting ready. "You were sound asleep when Watson knocked a few minutes ago. I didn't want to wake you, sorry for that."
Isis yawned and slowly eased back under the covers. "You were planning to leave a note on why you left right?" He chuckled and gave a nod. "At least I wouldn't wake up wondering what happened to you. Just call me if you need my help." She said tired.
Isis had just got settled and closed her eyes when a pair of lips kissed her cheek. "I promise, love." Sherlock whispered.
She smiled as she went back to sleep.
Isis was on her way to meet up with Sherlock and Watson with a USB hidden in her bra. The USB contains the information on the formula from the hard drives she stole from Moriarty. Upon further digging through files, Isis had finally got a name of the seller! Thus why she hid it in her bra since no one would think to look there.
About over an hour after Sherlock left, Isis got a call from him via communicator from him. When he mentioned fur and the name Barkley, it woke the American right up and a memory came to play. She recalled an episode where she knew the animal serum was from, but wasn't sure if the antagonist of the episode was the seller and supplier of the formula. When she did find information she had missed before, Isis quickly told the detective that she will tell him everything and got the address to the crime scene.
Isis was flying with her flying project in hover surfboard mode and saw Sherlock and Watson outside. "Hey!" She yelled and landed right next to them, but didn't get off.
"Sorry for waking you up, love." Sherlock apologized. "It was crucial that you be part of this case."
Watson looked at him. "Why is she needed specifically?"
Isis looked at the detective and he nodded. Isis shifted where her ears become wolf like, eyes turned silver, and have longer canines.
"Dear me!" Watson exclaimed in fright.
Isis shifts back. "Relax, Watson. I'm still me. What you witnessed is what Barkley helped Moriarty do to me." She past her chest. "I made a copy of what information I had on what was used one me. Including interactions between Barkley and Moriarty!" Looks and sees the claw marks. "In the information, it mentioned one other who was experimented on, but the effects were not as efficient like mine. I suspect the other one was here and is now being hunted by Barkley."
Sherlock nodded. "Makes sense. Come, we must head to the hospital!"
Isis started to fly a few feet off the ground. "I will head over and survey it. If Barkley shows up, I will kick his ass. If the other experiment victim shows up, I will intercept and get them to help us. I think a dose of the improved formula might help them regain a chance at living a normal life." She flew off with that idea in the other two heads.
Isis hovered over the hospital. She had her wolf eyes and ears active as she scanned the area. Soon she saw movement in the shadows and she watched as the victim she was looking for snuck into Nancy Barkley's room. He still loves her! Kind of reminds me of Sherlock and I after he found out. Although if the man does not say those three words soon, I will tell him myself. Well, when I got the guts to do so. Isis thought to herself. She sees the victim jump out in a haste and started running. Alright, Showtime!
Isis followed her target until he reached Nancy's friends apartment. Ok, time to intervene! She dived down and stopped in front of the victim.
"Seems I'm not the only one wanting justice against James Barkley."Isis told the cloaked man.
He growled and got ready to pounce. Isis thanked whoever was watching her because she wore some baggy clothes today. She shifted into her werewolf form and snarled back. The victim seemed stunned before standing upright and pulled back his good. Before her stood a bipedal tiger, but Isis knew better.
"Hello, Victor. I need your help!"
Isis was waiting outside the hotel where her fellow experimented victim was staying. She had called Sherlock on her communicator and asked for some things to be brought to the hotel. After explaining that her boyfriend can be trusted, Victor agreed to meet him.
A hovercab pulled up and Isis knew who it was. "You Amelia?" She asked the woman as she approached.
"Who's asking?" Amelia asked, looking spooked.
"Relax, I'm just like a mutual friend of ours. I'm waiting for somethings so I can help him gain some form of a life again." Isis reassured her. "A certain asshat made a deal with a criminal mastermind that involved a certain project. The Mastermind perfected it and used the results on me." She did a quick shift like she did for Watson. "I can turn at will after a lot of practice. If my calculations are correct, the dose of the perfected formula can help our friend get his life back and bring justice for us both."
Amelia looked to be studying Isis and seemed to believe her story. "Alright, I trust you. Just who are you waiting for?"
A hovercab landed nearby and Isis saw Deidre get out with a box of items. "My friend who just arrived." She walked over to her. "Thanks for the help, DD. I promise everything will be explained when the victim is ready for justice."
Deidre looked intrigued. "What's so big that it involves all this science stuff?"
Isis took the items and started to walk into the hotel. "Contact the boys and get to 221B Baker Street. Sherlock and I will explain everything. You guys get to hear my personal story too."
Deidre was shocked, then immediately got back into the hovercab. Isis watched it fly away and went to Amelia.
"Let's go end this injustice!"
A few hour later, Isis was working in her makeshift lab and adding the last touches of the formula. "Ok, I did it. Anything else, Victor?" She asked the tiger man.
Victor looked at the laptop Isis had asked to be brought with the equipment. "It needs to be in a color place so the formula can stabilize more efficiently for about 15 minutes." He informed her.
Isis gave a small laugh. "Good thing the hotel gave you a mini fridge then." She laughed as he just shook he shook his head at her attempt to joke. Placing the formula in a vital, she put a tight seal around it before placing it in the fridge. "Now we just wait. Amelia should be back with Sherlock soon. If all goes to plan, Barkley won't be far behind."
"A chance for me to get revenge is so close." Victor said, growling slightly.
Isis went over to him and placed a hand on one of his shoulders. "Victor, remember that the asshole has to be brought to justice alive. Just think about how you will soon be able to look human again and be there for Nancy." She looked to the room's door after feeling a familiar presence. "Looks like they are here. now remember to be honest and tell my boyfriend the whole truth. He isn't known as the world's greatest detective for nothing."
Isis sit Victor on the nearby sofa and goes to the door. She opens it before Amelia could open it. "Sensed you were here. Quickly come in!" Moving aside, Isis lets in Amelia, Sherlock and Watson. Closing the door, she looks to the trio. "We just finished the improved formula. Have to wait for it to stabilize before injecting it into our resident cat."
"I'm not a pet, wolf." Victor growled, annoyed.
Isis stuck her tongue out at him. Turns to the group and gestures Sherlock to step forward. "Dear heart, this is Victor Morris. He was the first one to fall victim to 389X4. Victor, this is Detective Sherlock Holmes and his partner, Watson."
After avoiding the harsh introduction from the episode, Isis watched the scene play out like it did in the show. This time she was recording it all from the camera in the laptop once the talking had started. As they began talking about how Victor was trying to sustain himself Isis sensed malicious intent from outside. Connecting with Sherlock, she sent a silent message of caution and he returned it with wariness and caution as well. Isis positioned herself where the door opens and it will hide her from Barkley. When Barkley entered, she used telekinesis to keep the door from hitting her. When he confessed everything, Isis peaked around and nodded to Victor. He leapt to action, knocking Barkley down and destroyed the ionizer. Victor then tossed him to the doorway where Isis got ready. When Barkley was standing again, she slammed the door into him, making him hit his head on the doorframe and render him unconscious.
"He's out!" Isis told everyone. "Watson, cuff both his wrists and ankles. I don't trust that he won't run ." She turns to Victor. "Nicely played, tiger. Told you he would fall for it."
Victor nods and goes to stop the laptop recording. Amelia goes to check on him while Sherlock approached Isis.
"How did you plan that?"
"You know my story, Sherlock. Also, in nearly every crime that the culprit cleans up they are also investigated. If the culprit is clever enough, they can use the police to track down loose ends. They would still be clever if they waited until a better opening to attack. Barkley apparently not that clever to follow the last part."
Sherlock pulled her into a kiss, which she happily returned. When they parted, they noticed Amelia was helping Victor with a syringe filled with liquid. "Has it been 15 minutes already?" Isis asked as the duo approached the two with Watson keeping watch on the criminal.
"Longer, but it's best to be safe when it comes to something like this." Victor replied and sat back down on the sofa. "Let's do this and get the justice we all deserve."
Isis went to Amelia, held out a hand. "It would be safer if I do it. I can handle our friend if things go wrong." Amelia nodded and gave the syringe to Isis. Isis approached Victor. "You will feel some heat, but only for a moment. Focus on your happier memories to help you regain a human form. Focus on reuniting with Nancy if it will help you keep a calm mind."
Victor nodded and closed his eyes. Isis flicked the syringe to get rid of air bubbles and pierced the skin through the fur to inject the serum. Once injected, Isis waved the others to the door just in case and got in a fighting stance. It took three minutes when results started showing. The frame of the tiger man started to shrink slightly and the feline appendages start to disappear. Soon a man was in the place of where the lion was.
"Welcome back, Victor."
Isis was setting up the study in Baker Street with some snacks and drinks for everyone. After the hotel debacle, Isis and Victor were interrogated on what happened and bothered revealed what happened to them. When Isis said Moriarty had a part, it got her more questions and a promise of help from the government to catch the mastermind. When all was done, she flew back to Baker Street and prepared for the long story she has to tell everyone her story.
Including from another dimension bit.
She heard everyone approach and sat down. Once everyone was in the study, Isis gestured to the snack tray. "You all night need some treats. It's a long tale you are about to hear."
Sherlock sat next to her and held her hand. She squeezed it and looked at everyone, who just got comfortable.
"It starts when I was cleaning..."
Chapter 16: Make It Official
Summary:
Now that everyone is in the know, they want to help Isis with bringing justice onto her stepfather. Isis and Sherlock eventually go on a second date and things are slowly heating up between the two.
Chapter Text
A week after revealing the truth of her origin, Isis had more people in her corner and everyone was really wanting to capture Moriarty even more. As for sending evidence to put her stepfather in prison, Tennyson had joined Isis and Sherlock on creating a device that will teleport between dimensions. At the moment, they have it where they can send anything to Isis' home dimension without a way back. This was fine since they just needed to get the evidence there so her sister, Ana, can activate phase 2 of the plan. Phase 2 was having Ana strategically drop some information to the news media and use social media to spread Isis' story while doing it all anonymously. The sisters made some bogus accounts that wouldn't be easily tracked for Ana to use without worry, but she would have to go to different internet hotspots with public computers so it would be harder to track.
One late afternoon, Isis was in her little work study with Tennyson getting the last of the evidence stockpiled for transit. Sherlock had an appointment so he wasn't able to help, but Isis understood and kissed him with a wish of a good day to him when he left. Now both techs were finishing up when Ana called.
"Hey, Isis!" The younger greeted the elder. "Checking to see if everything is ready to go."
Isis looked at Tennyson, who pulled out the final USB and nodded to her. "Tennyson just finished the last USB." Tennyson leans in and waves. "This is him. Ana, meet Josh Tennyson. Tens, this is my sister, Ana."
"Hi, kiddo!" Ana greeted. Tennyson responded with happy binary. "Whoa, he speaks droid?!"
Isis and Tennyson laughed. "It's called binary and yes. He has helped me so much with the coding that we made it this far." She turned serious. "Okay, I have sent you instructions via text on what to do on your end. Did you get them?" At her sister's nod, Isis continued. "Follow those to the T. In a few days, the dickwad will be in chains if all goes to plan. Remember to be careful."
The trio spoke some more(Isis translating for Tennyson) before sending everything over to Ana and they all cheered when it appeared without any problems. They said there goodbyes and Tennyson left with having plans with the other Irregulars. Feeling like some weight has lifted off her shoulder, Isis went to the bedroom to get her guitar and went to sit in the study. She sat by the window and begun to play some calming tunes to keep her mellow mood.
She was playing her third song when she heard a knock on the door frame. Looking up, Isis smiled to see Sherlock watching her play in his usual 19th Century attire. Finishing the song, Isis put her guitar aside and got up to greet him.
"Hello, dear heart." Isis kissed him and hugged him. "Did you just get home?"
"I have." He responded. "Have a surprise for you." Isis looked at him, excitement in her eyes. "I got us tickets to an opera this evening." The detective let out a small chuckle when his girlfriend hugged him again. "If I recall, you mentioned you wanted to see one."
Isis smiled at him. "Seemed interesting and wanted to see one at least once." She remembered something. "Sherlock, I need to go shopping! I have nothing to wear!"
"Isis, it is fine. I have a dress already picked for you." Sherlock stepped behind Isis and placed a blindfold over her eyes. "You are not seeing it until we get to our room."
A few hours later, the couple was near the end of the opera that Sherlock got seats for. They were in a private box and Isis was snuggled up to Sherlock's side as they watched the show. The dress the detective got her was a strapless dark blue gown that hugged her curves. He even got it altered so Isis can shift to have her wolf ears and tail with the dress.
When the show ended, the couple left and headed back to Baker Street. They talked about the opera and agreed on delivery for dinner. Isis immediately went to shower and change when they entered 221B. She told Sherlock what she wanted and went to the bathroom. A few minutes later, Isis was in the bedroom pulling on a shirt after putting on clean underwear when she felt two arms wrapped around her waist.
Sensing the warmth of her boyfriend's emotions, Isis turned her head and smiled at him. "Sherlock, I'm changing. Is everything ok?"
"Just wanted to see you, my dear." He told her, kissed her cheek. "Did you enjoy this evening?"
Isis kissed him. "I did." She leaned into him. "Thank you, Sherlock."
They kissed again, but continued to the point it got more heated. They ended up making out on the bed, Isis below Sherlock and both were trying to get closer to each other. When Isis went to take of Sherlock's shirt, the doorbell rang and the two stopped. Sherlock stood up, straightened himself out, and gave Isis another kiss before leaving the room.
Isis leaned back in bed and sighed.
Damn that doorbell!
Chapter 17: A Mad Mess
Summary:
Who is ready for the next episode? So Isis and Sherlock were just relaxing at home when Beth called them. They go see what was up and find a new case that might have their friend in jeopardy. Hopefully there will be a happy ending!
Chapter Text
For the next couple of weeks, Sherlock and Isis would find time to go on dates with each other. Only problem is that whenever things get intimate, someone or something comes up and ruins the moment. Whether it be case, job, or people checking in on you, the couple never had a chance to go further than making out and heavy petting.
One day, Sherlock and Isis just wanted to stay in with each other. It was a slow day, Isis having a day off and Sherlock had no cases. Watson was in 221B because Lestrade wasn't in dire need of him and was given some time off to be at home with his friends. The trio would run through theories and Isis would get an analysis going on a theory based on plot holes and timing events people made based on video games, shows, etc. Isis made a light late afternoon tea for her and Sherlock while giving Watson some new blueprints to look through on some upgrades she was planning for him. When the sunset, Watson was in his room of 221B checking in with the Yard while the couple was relaxing in the study. Isis had shifted into her wolf form over an hour ago and was snuggled next to Sherlock's chair at his feet. Sherlock was drinking tea that Isis made him a moment ago with her powers. Both were enjoying the warmth of the fireplace and the peace in the house.
Sherlock's mobile went off and he took it out of his pocket. Isis yawned and looked up at her boyfriend. "What is it, Lestrade?" Sherlock asked when he saw who was calling.
"I got a case that might interest you." Isis perked up in interest. Sherlock noticed and gave her a small smile as he scratched behind one of her ears. "Not to mention I may have solved it."
Isis looked at the detective with puppy eyes. She knew that another episode was happening and it was one she wanted to be fully in on. "How soon do you expect us?" He asked.
"Wait, is Isis with you?" Beth asked. Isis popped her wolf head up and gave an animal smile. "Hey, I! Yes, you can come too."
Isis gave an excited you and ran off to the bedroom to shift and change. Changing into some black form fitting pants and black button up blouse, Isis grabbed her favorite black combat boots and leather jacket. Putting on the items as she walked, Isis stopped in front of Watson's door.
Knocking three times, Isis called out to the droid. "Watson, come on! Beth is expecting us at Scotland Yard!" With that she finished tying her shoes and raced downstairs to the main hall.
Sherlock was there and ready to go, but Isis felt the warmth hit her and looked at his face to see the look of amazement on his face. "I'm guessing you like my outfit." She stated as she walked up to him.
"You are breathtaking either way, my dear Isis." Sherlock told her and gave her a kiss. "Although I do like the outfit, it would make some officers look as well."
Isis smirks. "Do I detect jealousy from you, Detective Holmes?" She asked playfully. Placing her hands on his shoulders, Isis lift herself up and gave a small kiss on Sherlock's cheek. "You have my heart and soul, Sherlock. Don't ever doubt that!"
They kissed for a moment until they heard Watson approached. Isis grabbed her flight pack and the trio left the building.
Isis flew next to Sherlock and Watson as they drove while on wing mode. She hoped that she can have the case move quicker than it did on the show, but has to be mindful of the paradoxes that can be unleashed. Her main reason is to get Beth back safe and sound without Sherlock having a chance to play mad man.
When they arrived at Scotland Yard, Isis immediately flew to the window where smoke was coming from. "Isis, be careful!" She looked down to see Sherlock and Watson at the entrance and gave them a thumbs up before diving through the open window. It led to a staircase and Isis saw people running frantically to get their love ones out.
"Listen up!" Isis yelled over the chaos. "Take your loved ones, mobiles, and IDs down the staircase ONE AT A TIME! Take the nearest emergency exits and cross to the other side of the street for your safety! Remember to remain calm while using the stairs to avoid any injuries and accidents! Please begin evacuation now! Someone from the Yard would be here in a moment!"
Everyone began to scramble, but at a more subtle pace as Isis directed and used her powers to make sure people remained calm as they exited the station. As the floor cleared out, Isis saw Watson and Sherlock make it up the stairs.
"This floor is cleared!" She yelled over the alarm. "Haven't seen Beth, she might be trapped!"
They ran towards the room where the fire was happening. Sherlock banged on the doors. "Lestrade, are you alright?" Sherlock called.
Isis reached out to her best friend with her empathy and sensed her. "She's in there, but something isn't right." She looked at Sherlock. "Sherlock, someone is manipulating her against her will. Her emotions are all over the place, but Beth's will made itself known that she has no control."
She stepped back to let Watson open the door and Sherlock found the panel to open it fully. Without wasting time, Isis ran ahead of them and into the smoke and flames. Using her powers, she found Beth and slowly approached her.
"Beth!" Isis called, getting her attention and saw a flaming object in her hand. "Beth, please put the fire aside and come to me." She told her friend gently in a calm voice.
Beth didn't heed Isis' words and threw the object at her. Isis felt someone pull her aside and over a control panel. She looked at her rescuer and saw it was Sherlock. Sending a feeling of gratitude, Isis and Sherlock got up and joined Watson on approaching Beth. Saving time from chasing her bestie, Isis used her empathic abilities to influence Beth to feel lethargic. It took a lot of concentration, yet it worked to the point of the detective inspector falling unconscious into a deep sleep. Isis approached her friend and carried the unconscious woman to the other side of the lab. Once there, Isis stood vigilant over her friend as the other two took care of the flames. Watching the scene play out, Isis waited until Sherlock found the three key items he would need for the case. When they watched the surveillance, Isis called to their attention.
"Can I see the puzzle?" Isis asked. "I can probably help by using my wolf skills to capture the scent of the culprit."
"An outstanding idea! Watson, watch over Lestrade. Isis, come over here." Sherlock ordered. When Isis switched with Watson, the detective held out the puzzle cube. "What can you make from this?"
Isis shifted her face to wolf and took some good sniffs. "I got Beth's scent and the fire, but have two others unknown to me. One seems more permanent than the other, like it is the owner of the puzzle. The second one is recent and most likely belong to the thief. Beth was right about the theft being an inside job because I detect faint traces of hospital scents on the puzzle." Isis looked at her boyfriend. "Sherlock, there is also a metallic scent with an electrical charge to it. I suspect that the thief used this puzzle to cover up whatever tech they used to control Lestrade. Such a immoral way of destroying evidence, but I'm guessing our culprit was desperate. May I see the video?" Sherlock shows her a video. "Ok, the symbol on the wall represents a hospital and they usually experiment with technology and chemicals that can help patients. I suspect what was stolen might have been used on Beth."
"What a brilliant deduction, Isis!" Watson exclaimed.
"A brilliant deduction indeed." Isis blushed as her face reverted back to normal. Sherlock gave a knowing smirk, seeing he still gets her to blush. "All we need to do is know which hospital Lestrade was investigating and get a warrant to investigate ourselves." Sherlock looked to Watson. "Watson, contact Greyson and tell him what happened. Lestrade most likely filed a report into the system already, ask him for the hospital name and address. See if he could get us a warrant while your at it."
Isis landed in front of Midgard, the mental hospital, next to Sherlock and Watson's craft. Powering down her pack, she met up with two and helped ensure Beth remained asleep. Their plan was simple: go in and register Beth for help as a way to bait out the criminal while investigating the scene and staff. Entering the building, they handed over Beth and waited for further details. Isis watched and listened as the other two talked about how the scene of the crime was right across from them and it was in this very hospital that the nanotechnology that was mentioned in the show was studied here as well.
The door to Beth's room opened and out walked the doctors. Isis looked down and noticed that one of the doctors, one the other called Dr. Smith, had the same shoes as the thief in the surveillance video.
Isis went up to Sherlock and whispered into his ear. "Sherlock, Smith has same footwear as the criminal. Get me close enough so I can get a scent."
The scene played out and the doctor introduced himself as Dr. Culver Smith. As he was giving assurance about Beth, Isis stepped forward just enough to be seen.
"Ah, I almost forgot. This is my personal assistant, Miss Lupin." Sherlock introduced her with a fake name. "She has experience with dealing unstable patients. Thought her talents would help with the Detective Inspector."
When Smith looked at Isis, she felt that he was looking at her like a piece of meat. Hiding her discomfort, Isis held out her hand to shake. "Nice to meet you, Dr. Smith." She said in a calm voice.
Smith took her hand, but instead of shaking it he kissed the back of it. "Pleasure is mine. Would you like to talk about your experience in my office?" He asked.
Isis took her hand back and smelt it. You are so busted, asshole! She thought before looking at her boyfriend and nodded. Sherlock nodded back and Isis pounced! Tackling the man to the floor, Isis managed to pin his front to the floor and his arms behind his back. Watson approached and gave her a set of cuffs. She secured his wrists and got off the man when Watson got a good grip on him. Isis then proceed to search him and found a controller that she recognized from the episode. Showing it to Sherlock and Watson, Isis stepped away as the two told the doctor he was under arrest and took him to Dr. Cushing's office as they wait for an officer to pick him up and to fill in the head doctor of what occurred. When Smith looked back, Isis looked at him with a smirk. This is for Beth, you greedy prick! She raised the controller and used her wolf strength to slam it to the ground, shattering it to pieces. The evil doctor screamed and hollered, but Isis just flipped him the bird and stood vigil on the friend she considers a sister.
It took a couple hours, mainly paperwork to fill and ensuring Beth was back to normal, for the trio to leave once an officer to Smith away and were assured of Beth's speedy recovery. They returned to Baker Street and Isis went up to the bedroom to change for a shower. She had taken off her shoes, socks, and pants when Sherlock managed to sneak up on her again and pulled her close, kissing her neck.
Isis moaned and turned to kiss him, which he obliged. It was heated and passionate that I left Isis wanting air. She pulled away and asked, "Why the sudden kiss attack?"
Sherlock turned her around and looked at her. Isis mad an attempt at eye contact and was breathless at the raw emotion she saw. "I didn't like the way he was looking at you." He explained, hands holding her around the waist. "That Dr. Smith was lucky I showed restraint or I would be in jail for the night."
Isis giggled and began to undo his tie. "Dear heart, you wouldn't be in jail. They probably place you in a psych ward." The tie came undone and fell to the ground. "To be honest, that man made me feel uncomfortable." She begins to fasten his waist coat. "I felt like I was being seen as a figure not a living being."
Sherlock stopped her hands and brought them to his lips, kissing them. "What do you plan to do about it?"
Isis gave what she hoped was a coy smile. "Depends... would you help me feel better?"
Isis was pulled closer and was soon letting Sherlock dominate the kiss. He had released her hands to run his through her hair and touch the hair skin under her blouse. Isis ran a hand through his locks with one hand and managed to unbutton his shirt with the other. Pushing his shirt off, Isis pulled away and whispered in his ear.
"Please be gentle. I never done this before."
Sherlock placed his forehead on hers and guided her backwards to their bed. They fell onto it, Isis below the detective and resumed kissing. Isis was so drunk off the kisses Sherlock was giving her she failed to notice that he had unclothed her completely. Before she can ask how, Isis was gasping in pleasure as Sherlock played and sucked on her breasts. There was a moment she stiffened feeling his fingers enter her, but became a moaning mess as he worked her body to the brink of pleasure. When it felt like she was going to burst, Sherlock stopped and pulled away. Isis was going to complain, but stopped when she saw him removing his pants and underwear. Seeing his dick made her blush because she never seen one in person before. Sherlock returned to her kissed her again. Isis was so involved with the kiss she didn't notice him lining up and entering her until she felt a sharp pain when her hymen broke.
She froze and gave a small whimper. Sherlock whispered in her ear that it was ok and to hold on to him if it helps. He started moving and Isis held onto him holding back whimpers of pain. She felt him hit something in her and the pain was replaced by pleasure. Soon sounds of moaning, grunting, gasping filled the room as the couple made love . Isis felt the pressure building, she pulled her boyfriend into a passionate kiss as they both came at the same time.
They stayed sandwiched to each other until Sherlock pulled out and moved to lay by Isis' side. He pulled her close and she snuggled into his chest as he tightly wrapped his arms around her. The couple fell asleep after that.
Chapter 18: Party Until Dawn
Summary:
Isis was asked to be an opening act at the club she plays at for a local band. She invites everyone to come! What happens when someone tries something to our girl who is besties with a DI, a 19th century detective for a boyfriend, and a man who can turn tiger-like when all 3 are in the club? Place your best!
Chapter Text
It has been nearly a week since Beth was hospitalized due to the nanotechnology abuse. Isis would always make a stop around lunch to give Beth some proper food so the DI would cooperate with the doctors. During the time, Isis and Sherlock had taken their relationship to the next level. Either one would instigate something that would lead to another, but for the most part they kept themselves in control.
It was the day after Beth was released from the hospital. Isis had gotten a call from Nancy about having a girl day, even asking for Beth to come along. Isis and Nancy had become friends after the former helped the latter's boyfriend, Victor, get his life back. When Barkley was arrested, Beth helped Isis and Nancy get the divorce and for Nancy to gain everything that was rightfully hers and Victor's from the crazy now ex-husband. Now the girls would hangout sometimes, Isis mainly going over to check with Nancy and have Victor check on her for any problems with her wolf DNA.
Isis was hanging out with Beth and being an overprotective sister in her friends apartment. When Nancy called, both girls were happy to accept her invitation and headed over to their friend's new place. Nancy had moved out of her old place and sold all of her ex's belongings before moving into a nicer apartment. It wasn't a penthouse, but the apartment was comfy and roomy just enough for the couple. Isis and Beth arrived to the building and buzzed their friend's number.
"Hello?"
"Hey, Victor! It's Isis and Beth."
"Ah, Nancy said you were on your way. She will be right down."
"Thanks, and try not get into trouble."
"I should say the same for you."
Beth laughed causing Isis to flip the bird at her friend and say by to her fellow hybrid. Nancy joined them a few minutes later and the trio got into Beth's car. The three women were having fun with some light shopping and getting a small lunch. Nancy and Beth managed to trick Isis into checking out a lingerie store with Isis walking out with a small bag and a red face as the other two were laughing behind her. They were about to decide on what to do next when Isis' communicator went off.
Seeing it was the manager of the club she plays at, Isis excused herself to go answer the call. "Hello, boss. Is everything okay?"
Isis ran into 221B, dropping her items in the hall and having to go back to close the front door. Using her powers, she sensed her boyfriend in the study and rushed towards it. Upon entering, she sees Sherlock had fallen asleep in his chair.
Going up to him, Isis gently shook his shoulder. "Sherlock, wake up. I got something to tell you." When he didn't show signs of awakening, Isis used her powers and felt he was in deep sleep with some emotions of love and lust. Out of curiosity, Isis looked down and saw the detective had a slight bulge. "Are you having a nice dream?" She giggled, then gasped at an idea that popped into her head. "Hope you don't mind this wake up call then."
Getting onto her knees in front of him. Isis opened Sherlock's pants and fished his dick out of his boxers. She started to lock and kiss every inch of it before putting it in her mouth. Never doing this before, Isis has seen scenes like this in things she watched or played so if it goes wrong, not really her fault. So she started to slowly suck, moving her head back and forth while trying to get used to Sherlock's size. What she couldn't take she used one of her hands. As she continued, her powers were telling her he was starting to wake up and soon start to hear some groans from him. Wanting to make him chm, Isis worked faster and soon felt something warm and salty flowing into her mouth. Swallowing it all, Isis pulled away and wiped away leftover drool from her lips with her wrists. Looking up, she saw Sherlock looking at her with tired eyes and a smirk on his face.
"Afternoon, dear heart." Isis got up and leaned towards the detective. "I got some big news and had to wake you up for it."
"By doing that?" He asked as he fixed himself so he looked decent.
"You wouldn't wake up when I did it the normal way." She shrugged. "Are you complaining?"
Sherlock shook his head and pulled her down onto his lap. "No, but I am curious about why you did it."
Isis blushed. "Wanted to surprise you with a wake up call. Never done it before so I learned from videos online." She admitted quietly.
Her boyfriend tilted her head toward him and gives her a loving kiss. "I love you, Isis."
Isis smiled. "I love you, too." Then she remembered why she woke him up. "Oh, I got a call from the club manager. He wants me to be the opening act for a local band that is becoming pretty famous. The show is tonight and it would mean a lot to me if you were there."
Sherlock looked like he was thinking about, which made Isis look worried. He laughs. "Isis, I was joking. Of course I will come."
She pouts, he kissed her.
Isis was backstage tuning her guitar, waiting for her boyfriend and their friends to join her. Since she was popular at the club, the manager was cool to give free VIP and backstage passes to those she invited. Beth and Nancy immediately said yes after the phone call and the trio teamed up to convince Victor. Apparently it wasn't hard to convince him since he has a secret interest in rock music and was curious about the 21st century music Isis was going to play. Isis had arrived before everyone to make sure their passes were available. The group arrived and she immediately went over to them, thanking them and giving them their passes. Now she was waiting for them after splitting up so she can give the DJ the set list for her part of the show.
An arm wrapped around her shoulder and she looked up to see it was the lead singer of the band playing tonight. "Hello, beautiful. Are you the opener?" He asked.
Isis used two fingers and gingerly removed his arm from her person. "Yes and you are invading my personal bubble. Please leave me alone." She told him and continued working on her guitar by playing a few notes.
The guy just got up into her space and pulled her closer to him by the waist. "Oh, don't be like that, love!" He said. "Just want to get to know the pretty girl who is introducing my band."
Feeling uncomfortable, Isis used her powers to sense where everyone is and felt them close by backstage with her. Feeling for Sherlock, she sent her fear and made a silent plea for help. He sent back concern, anger, fear, hope, and love to tell her they were coming.
Isis removed the guy's arm from her again. Taking her guitar, she warned him . "Listen, I'm not interested in you at all. Also, I'm not introducing you, I'm the OPENING ACT for the show. If you want an easy lay, pick one the sleezy chicks in the crowd. Now excuse me! I have people who are looking for me."
She turned to walk away, wanting to get away from the as whole, when he grabbed her and pulled her to him. Now she was scared and starting to panic. "Like a slut like you had anyone here." He told her.
"HANDS OFF!" Isis felt herself being pulled away and looked to see Victor pinning the singer to the wall with Beth looking at the guy with a scowl. Isis looked to see it was Sherlock who has her and Nancy was talking to a stagehand. Seeing the stage hand leave, Isis suspects Nancy wanted the manager here and sent for him. Sherlock placed his Iverness over her and she pulled it around her like it was a safety blanket. Isis was wearing a t-shirt and some skinny jeans without makeup or jewelry, but was confused by what he meant by calling her a slut.
"Dude, I meant no harm." The singer tried to weasel out of trouble. "She came onto me."
"That's not what I heard." Victor snarled, some of the tiger features coming out. This scared the singer. "You were trying to force yourself on the girlfriend of a famous detective and the best friend of the Detective Inspector next to me. Try to lie again and my other half will have her lawyers on you before you walk on stage.
"Are you ok?" Sherlock asked gently. Isis looked at him and he can see she was shaken up. "Lestrade, arrest that man or I will not be held accountable for what will happen if he comes near Isis again."
The singer's face lit up with recognition at her name, then paled. It wasn't a secret that the main performer of the club was dating Sherlock Holmes and their name was Isis. Looking at the couple, the band's singer knew he messed up big time.
"It seems the band was right to have me look for their singer." Everyone turned to see Nancy was back with the club manager. "They warned me he would try to get a girl to sleep with him no matter what. They warned those who run the other venues they played at, but no one truly took the warning seriously." The manager looks at Victor. "Dr. Morris, give the man to my security. They will personally escort him to the Yard." Victor does that and they watch the singer struggle and tell they had no right has he was brought away. "I will have to tell the band they can't perform."
Isis spoke up. "Wait, do any of them sing? Maybe they can perform, but you have to tell the crowd that the singer was kicked off the premises due to an attempt of illegal actions. Make sure that you emphasize that the rest of the band had nothing to do with it. I will still do the opening, especially since people are expecting me and the band to play tonight."
After thirty more minutes of talking, the manager left to alert the band. The group surrounded Isis and she cried in Sherlock's embrace. She was so scared and felt like she was going to have a mental breakdown if everyone hadn't shown up in time. After some comforting and reassuring, Isis felt better. They heard the manager make the announcement on stage and the group went to the side so Isis can go out when introduced.
Sherlock kissed her good luck and Isis took her guitar onto the stage, feeling better and more confident. The crowd cheered and she waited for some quiet. Once it was quiet, she did the opening of Mercenary by Panic at the Disco.
"
Just a dime store poet
Keeping pace, talking his face blue
Two dollar store tramps
To get a glance, a new chance at you
Walk past the dance floor
It's always been a dear friend of mine
Cuckolds and concubines
Dancing in four-four time
"Hey mister!" the bellman says
"I can only recall last's night hotel," I said
So he replies, "Then how do you manage?"
I dodge the blast, and apologize for collateral damage
In love, I've always been a mercenary,
But I never leave my post when the cash runs out
I want to make you quiver
Make your backbone shiver
Hey kid, take the stage and deliver
"Hey mister!" the bellman says
"I can only recall last night's hotel," I said
So he replies, "Then how do you manage?"
I dodge the blast, and apologize for collateral damage
(Collateral damage, collateral damage)
"How does it feel to stand on the very stones
That ran with your parent's blood?
Do you feel sad? Full of rage?
Or does that outfit help you bury your feelings?
Hiding your true self
You're truly an extraordinary specimen,
I look forward to breaking you"
I dodge the blast, and apologize for collateral damage
"Hey mister!" the bellman says
"I can only recall last night's hotel," I said
So he replies, "Then how do you manage?"
I dodge the blast, and apologize for collateral damage
"Hey mister!" the bellman says
"I can only recall last night's hotel," I said (hotel I said)
So he replies, "Then how do you manage?"
I dodge the blast, and apologize for collateral damage"
Mercenary, Panic At The Disco
As the last note fades, the crowd goes wild. Isis bowed and quickly retuned her guitar for the next song. The next song was Holiday by Green Day.
"
Say hey!
Cha!
Hear the sound of the falling rain
Coming down like an Armageddon flame (hey!)
The shame, the ones who died without a name
Hear the dogs howling out of key
To a hymn called "Faith and Misery" (hey!)
And bleed, the company lost the war today, and
Oh I beg to dream and differ from the hollow lies
This is the dawning of the rest of our lives (whoa, oh, whoa, oh)
On holiday!
Hear the drum pounding out of time
Another protester has crossed the line (hey!)
To find the money's on the other side
Can I get another amen? (Amen!)
There's a flag wrapped around a score of men (hey!)
A gag, a plastic bag on a monument
Oh I beg to dream and differ from the hollow lies
This is the dawning of the rest of our lives (whoa, oh, whoa, oh)
On holiday!
Hey!
Three, four!
The representative from California has the floor
"Sieg Heil" to the president Gasman
Bombs away is your punishment
Pulverize the Eiffel towers
Who criticize your government
"Bang! Bang!" goes the broken glass, and
Kill all the fags that don't agree
Try to fight fire, setting fire
Is not a way that's meant for me
Just 'cause (hey! Hey! Hey! Hey!)
Just 'cause, because we're outlaws, yeah (hey! Hey! Hey! Hey!)
Oh I beg to dream and differ from the hollow lies
This is the dawning of the rest of our lives (whoa, oh, whoa, oh)
I beg to dream and differ from the hollow lies
This is the dawning of the rest of our lives (whoa, oh, whoa, oh)
This is our lives on holiday!"
Holiday, Green Day.
Isis laughed as the crowd cheered her name. She turned to her friends backstage and saw they were cheering for her as well. Sherlock just looked at her with a warm, loving smile which made her blush. Isis winked at the detective and started the opening right to Standing In The Dark by Nickelback.
"
The needle on my compass, must be busted or bent
Cause I can't walk straight
And I'm feelin' kinda beaten like the rusted out hinges
On the back yard gate
Well everybody lies too much
Hoping they can find true love
Cause hell is what we all go through
To try and find an angel like you
Woah, oh
Thank god you found me
(Found me)
Cause I'm broken and handing you my heart
When the night is surrounding
Need your light around me
Or else I'm just standing in the dark
When the night is surrounding
Need your light around me
Or else I'm just standing in the dark
Or else I'm just standing in the dark
My soul's got holes like a shotgun pattern on a highway sign
And the lady on the radio can stick this
Damn rain where the sun don't shine
Well everybody lies too much
Hoping they can find true love
Cause hell is what we all go through
To try and find an angel like you
Woah, oh
Thank god you found me
(Found me)
Cause I'm broken and handing you my heart
When the night is surrounding
Need your light around me
Or else I'm just standing in the dark
Thank god you found me
(Found me)
Cause I'm broken and handing you my heart
When the night is surrounding
Need your light around me
Or else I'm just standing in the dark
Or else I'm just standing in the dark
Or else I'm just standing in the dark
You turn to me as if to say
Your turn to breathe as shadows drift away
You can't explain, you just let go
Of all the pain that the world will never know
You turn to me as if to say
Your turn to breathe as shadows drift away
You can't explain, you just let go
Of all the pain that the world will never know
Thank god you found me
(Found me)
Cause I'm broken and handing you my heart
When the night is surrounding
Need your light around me
Or else I'm just standing in the dark
Thank god you found me
(Found me)
Cause I'm broken and handing you my heart
When the night is surrounding
Need your light around me
Or else I'm just standing in the dark
You turn to me as if to say
Or else I'm just standing in the dark
You can't explain, you just let go
Or else I'm just standing in the dark"
Standing in the Dark, Nickelback
Isis smiled and blushed as she bowed after her last song. Everyone was cheering, screaming with joy. She walked off stage and joined her group in the back. Everyone hugged and congratulated her, but her main focus was Sherlock. Seeing her looking at him, he held his arms open and she ran into them. They kissed in front of the others, but neither of them cared until Beth told them to get a room.
Chapter 19: Plan Going Strong, Halloween Coming Around
Summary:
Halloween is approaching in that universe(that alone should hint what episode is next on the next chapter) and Isis is excited. The plans for her original dimension is going strong and Isis managed to get a timer for her dimension device. Sherlock doesn't understand her fascination for the holiday, but she gives him reason to love costume.
Chapter Text
Isis had set up a webcam and laptop in her workshop. It has been a week since the incident and show at the club. The band had apologized for their member, but she told them to be more careful and strict in the future. They tried to convince her to join them, yet she would not be swayed and wished the band luck in the future. Now she was setting up to make a video recording of her testimony and what has she been doing in the universe since the day she was brought there.
Ana had called the day before and told her that the plan was successful, now it was time to go phase two. Also it would give a reason to test the timer module on her dimension device. Since she doesn't have a living subject that can return at a press of a button, Isis made a timer module that can send items and people between dimensions based on the time limit for it to move. Kind of like a portkey from Harry Potter!
Isis has her laptop booted up and synced with her webcam. She pressed record and waved to the camera. "Hello, Earth! My name is Isis and I am from that universe originally. On *date here*, I was illegally sold to a criminal mastermind by my stepfather, *insert name here*. The man had been talking to the mastermind for a long time as was shown in the evidence that came to light. As for the the mastermind, you know him from the evidence gathered as Moriarty. If you have read Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's books, that name would be familiar. Yes, I was illegally sold to Professor James Moriarty for a huge amount of money to pay off some unknown debt. Don't believe me?" Isis typed a command into the laptop. "Here is some photographic evidence and audio of what happened to me since that day. Just because time moves differently between dimensions doesn't mean what is about to be shown is not graphic. Please have those underage and sensitive stomachs leave until the proof is over."
Isis mute her camera mic and turned to see Sherlock standing in the doorway. "May I come in?" He asked. Isis smiled and gestured for him to enter. "I see you are preparing for phase two of your plan for justice."
Isis nodded. "Yes and I wanted to ask you something." Sherlock nodded for her to continue. "People will still doubt Moriarty exists and that I have crossed dimensions to a place where him and yourself truly exist. Can you please be part of the video?" She looked at him with her sad eyes.
Sherlock took her in his arms and kissed her head. "I will help in anyway I can, love. If being in this video helps, I will do it."
Isis looked up and kissed her boyfriend. "Thank you, dear heart. All you have to do is wait for my cue to introduce you and give some information on what we are doing on trying to capture Moriarty. Understood?" Sherlock nods. "Good, time to finish things up."
She goes back to her laptop and unmutes her mic as her camera came back onto her. "I know there are still those who don't believe still. I have someone here with me that will further cement the truth." Looks to her detective. "The floor is yours."
Isis attached the device to the USB contains the video and looked at her phone. "You got what I asked for, sis?"
Ana nodded and flipped her camera. "Yup, your female Witcher cosplay is in the box just like you asked."
Isis flipped her camera and showed the device and USB. "Ok, about to activate the timer. Watch closely." She showed how to set the timer of departure/arrival and how to activate it. "Sending it now."
Pressing in the dial, the device started up and it disappeared. Looking at her phone, Isis saw it appear in front of Ana. They both cheered as Ana picked up the device and removed the USB. Placing the device on the box and carefully set the timer. Both watched as it disappeared and reappeared in front of Isis. The sisters shouted with joy. Making sure that Ana was all set for Phase 2, Isis said good by to her sister and went to open the box.
An hour later, Isis was in the bedroom and dressed in her sexy, yet deadly female Witcher costume. Her outfit had a mage flair with accents of Witcher wardrobe. She even got a Witcher medallion to complete the look. The door opened and Isis turned and smiled as Sherlock looked at her outfit.
"What do you think of my costume, dear heart?" She asked innocently. "I even have a cloak to complete it."
Sherlock looked stunned. "Isis, why are you dressed like that?" He asked.
Isis slowly approached him. "Well, Halloween is around the corner and I wanted to show that this is a holiday where many people who are like me would have a chance to dress up as character they created or based of a franchise they adore. This is a Witcher cosplay I had recently put together before coming here." She looked down. "Do you like it?"
Next thing she knew, Isis was pulled onto the bed and was trying to keep her boyfriend from shredding her outfit as they kissed passionately.
Chapter 20: Vampire...Not Even Close!
Summary:
Ok, I know some vampire lore and I will be dropping a fact of two in this chapter. Isis goes on a case and seeing it was the Sussex Vampire episode, she knew what was going to go down. Also spout some information on the creatures while at it.
Chapter Text
Isis woke up in bed and noticed it was still dark out. Looking to the other side, she noticed that Sherlock wasn't there. Getting up, Isis walked to the wardrobe and pulled on her robe over her tank top and pajamas shorts. She left the room and used her senses to find her boyfriend was in his study talking to Watson. Her mind was still sleepy and she felt groggy so what they were talking about didn't register.
Getting to the study, Isis saw the door was open and walked in. "Dear heart, why are you still up?" She asked, sleepily. "You promised to turn in early tonight."
Both man and droid turned their heads in her direction. "Good Evening, Isis." Watson greeted. "Sorry about that, but we might have an important case."
Isis rubbed her eyes and shook her head, making herself more awake. Ignoring the detective's chuckles, she approached the desk. "I'm awake now so might as well help if I can." She stated.
Sherlock gestured to the monitor. "Computer play news report." He commanded.
Isis watched the news and the footage it had. Seeing it was the vampire episode, she had to laugh which caused Sherlock and Watson to look at her. "Okay, that is obviously fake as we all know. I researched vampires before and whoever is hacking as one is only going off what they've seen in movies."
"Enlighten us, love." Sherlock told her, fingers pressed together. "What is wrong with the vampire footage?"
"First, if that was an actual vampire it would look more human like or someone on the verge of death since it needs blood to rejuvenate." Isis points at the picture. "Second, vampires are said to be soulless so they shouldn't have any kind of reflection, including showing up on camera or pictures."
Before any questions were asked, a call was coming through. Isis told the two good night, kissed Sherlock, and left the study to go back to bed.
Waking up the next morning, Isis saw she was alone and knew Sherlock was up working on the case. She went through her daily morning routine of preparing to face the day. Dressed in a simple blouse and jeans, Isis was heading to the kitchen when her hearing picked up the voices of the Irregulars entering the house. In the kitchen, she went about making the kids some to-go bags filled with wrapped breakfast sandwiches and small, disposable containers filled with home fries. On a separate plate, she made Sherlock breakfast of eggs, bacon, and home fries.
Putting everything on a tray, Isis made her way out of the kitchen and towards the study. Deidre had just opened the door when she approached. "Hi, DeDe! You leaving so soon?" Isis asked. "I made some breakfast for you guys to take on the go. I know Sherlock probably has already assigned tasks to you three."
Deidre lightened up at seeing Isis and took a bag from the tray. "Thanks, Isis!" She cheered. "Wish me luck!"
"Good luck, Deidre!" Isis called after the girl as she left. Entering the study, Isis announced. "Made breakfast and no, I refuse to let anyone eat on an empty stomach or go off without something to fuel the body."
Wiggins and Tennyson took their bags and Sherlock took his plate. She was given a quick rundown on what was happening and promised to help if they need her. She left the study to clean the kitchen. Once the kitchen was cleaned, Isis headed to her work area and started to work on her latest project.
Isis was about to change into her pjs when she got called downstairs by Tennyson. Heading down, she say the young boy waiting by the door.
"What's up, Ten?" She asked. Tennyson told her that Watson is in danger and Sherlock needs help. "Let me grab my hoodie and shoes." Isis used her telekinesis and summoned her shoes and hoodie. "Fill me in as we go. Got no time to waste!"
A few minutes later, Isis and Tennyson arrived at the area where Watson and Wiggins were supposed to be. Tennyson met with Sherlock while Isis went to find Watson and Wiggins. She found Watson, but saw something approaching him.
"WATSON!RUN!" Isis screamed to her friend running to stand between him and the specter.
Luckily, Sherlock turned up with a flashlight and scared the thing away. As the scene played out like it did in the show, Isis said good night to Beth and walked away with the others. As the passed a building, Isis picked up a negative energy with her empathic abilities. Doing a quick dip into her powers, she began to panic and walked closer to Sherlock.
"Moriarty's watching the scene." Isis whispered to the detective. Grabs his arm and moved closer to him. "I think our culprit is actually a hacker turned vigilante."
The next day, Isis joined the group as the enter the underground to find the lair. When Sherlock and the "vampire" talked, Isis shifted her eyes and ears to give the being a good scare. It ran off, Isis and Sherlock leading the group after it. It all plays out again as seen in the episode and Isis couldn't keep the small laugh in when her boyfriend made a security joke.
Inside, she hid in the shadows and waited to jump Moriarty. Just because she was autistic, doesn't mean that Isis was stupid! She seen the episode a couple times and knows the right moment to strike. It was still funny to see Sherlock pretend to be a vampire though!
As it all played out, Isis tried to get the jump on Moriarty until Sherlock told her to come out with the others. "Why, Sherlock, would you expose me?" Isis complained and stood by him.
"All in good time, my dear." He told her.
When the vampire showed up, Isis stood between them and Moriarty, ready to strike. Beth got free and tried to arrest the criminal until he dropped a smoke bomb. When Sherlock revealed the identity of the vampire, Isis went up to the girl, Amanda, and checked her over to make sure she was actually alright from meeting Moriarty. Isis had to stop and tell Beth to let her boyfriend explain the situation.
After all was said and done, Isis promised Amanda something. "Moriarty will be captured and I promise I will be there to ensure he does." She gave the girl a folded piece of paper. "This has Sherlock and I's numbers if you need to call us. Added the Irregulars and Detective Inspector too so you have someone to talk to or ask for help."
Amanda smiled. "Thank you." She said.
Isis smiled. "No problem, and if you want to go on a date with Tennyson I can help set it up." She laughed at the two blushing.
Isis was leaning on her boyfriend's shoulder as he read her Dracula. They had gotten home awhile ago and Isis made them dinner before turning in for the evening. Now they were just relaxing and Isis wanted Sherlock to read to her to help her sleep. She had to face Moriarty again and it usually triggers nightmares for her. The detective agreed and now the couple were cuddled in bed with a book.
Talk about a picture perfect way to end the day.
Chapter 21: Trick Or Treat!!!
Summary:
Boys and Girls of Every Age, Would You Like to See Something Strange?(P.S. Sorry for really long wait! Life has been hectic!)
Chapter Text
"Trick or treat!"
Isis smiled at the trick or treaters. "Well, we got some brave souls to visit a Witcher!" She said, smiling. Along with her costume and props, Isis used her wolf eyes to make her outfit more authentic. "Here is some candy, but promise not to tell any witch hunters I am hiding with the great detective."
The children promised and ran off laughing with more candy in their bags. Isis couldn't help, but giggle at their excitement. She loved Halloween because it allowed her inner nerd to flourish for the day. Since convention tickets were so expensive and hotel prices go up around that time, Isis just focused on putting things together for cosplays until she has enough to plan everything for a convention.
Closing the door, Isis placed the candy bowl on the side table and went to Sherlock's study. Upon reaching it, she looked inside and saw her beloved watching the trick or treaters run around with their chaperones from the window. With a soft smile, Isis walked over and joined him.
"You know," she began, "it would make the kids day if you gave some candy to them. Many would dress up as you because you were seen as a hero in a way."
Sherlock let out a chuckle. "Safe to assume that you were one of them."
Isis leaned up a little and gave a small kiss on his cheek. "You tell me, dear heart."
Sherlock looked at his girlfriend and smiled. "You just gave your confirmation, love. As to handing out candy to children, I still don't grasp the concept of taking candy from strangers."
Isis took a moment to think before it clicked. "You never tick or treat before! Forgot about that possibility. Basically kids dress up to the point no one would recognize them and go with the adults in charge of watching them so nothing would happen. They basically do it in groups to be much safer. I agree with never take anything from strangers, but everyone does their best to take extra precautions around this time." Sherlock didn't look convinced. "Listen, we are almost out of candy. How about you do the last couple of handouts and I will treat us with some takeaway of your choice if you do this?"
Sherlock looked he was going to deny the idea until Isis gave Puppy Eyes. "Very well." He sighed, but smiled when she gave a squeal of joy. "I want no complaints on what I want to order nor the prices."
Kissing her boyfriend, Isis sealed the deal and let out another happy squeal when the doorbell rang. "Come on!" She said, pulling Sherlock out of the study. "Time for some kids to get candy from the World's Greatest Detective!"
Chapter 22: Imposter Imperceptible
Summary:
So the episode where they had the bad guys go through plastic surgery, I had no idea how to spin that. So I literally just woke up with an idea involving Isis being part of another couple's wedding plans.
Chapter Text
Isis woke up and smiled at the feel of Sherlock's arms wrapped around her. If they weren't dating, she wouldn't have found out that the World's Greatest Detective was a cuddler. She looked up to see her boyfriend looking peaceful as he slept and thought he looked cute. Using her empathic abilities, Isis let Sherlock know she was awake and he loosen his arms so she can get free while he remained asleep.
After doing the usual wake up routine, Isis went into the kitchen and made a quick breakfast for her boyfriend. Isis was going to be busy all day because she was helping Nancy and Victor today. Why? They asked her to help plan their long overdue wedding.
A couple months after the Barkley Case, Victor reproposed to Nancy after they started seeing each other again when the case was closed. They met with Isis a week ago to officially tell her of their plans and to ask her to be a maid of honor. Apparently they wanted things to simmer down from the case and have time to plan the where and when they want to marry. They agreed the when and where a month before contacting Isis, who understood about the wait and was overjoyed to hear the couple are actually official. She said yes to being the MOH, but swore to only help if the couple gave there input on wedding plans. It was their wedding, so it should go their way and not someone else's.
The couple agreed to meet with Isis for brunch today, filling her in on what has been done and what's going on today. Hence why she was only making breakfast for her beloved boyfriend. Speaking of, Isis sensed her boyfriend up and about just as she finished cooking.
"Sherlock, your breakfast is on the counter!" She shouted, plating a dish with his food.
"Understood, love!" Sherlock shouted back. She then heard the shower turn on and began to head to main hallway.
It has been a pretty eventful, yet exhausting day. Isis had met up with Nancy and Victor for brunch and made a game plan. Isis mentioned they should list any allergies someone might have for not only food, but for the floral arrangements at the ceremony. Just so they can find ways to substitute without ruining the beautiful moment , which helped a lot because it narrowed down on the couple's choices of flowers and food they wanted.
After brunch, she joined the couple on getting decorations, which took up most of the day to Isis surprise. Then again she never helped plan a wedding before. Once they finally managed to find the couple's dream decorations, the trio went to find a place to get their wedding cake. Isis helped them narrow down the best places by looking up food review sites and see what ratings bakeries had, price range, what critics and customers say as of recent. Finding one with good reviews/ratings and within their price range, they went to the bakery and met tin the baker in charge.
Last on the list was the bride's dress and picking out what should be the bridesmaids dresses. Victor left the girls to do that so he can head home and prepare last minute details. Nancy and Isis spent the rest of the day until closing at a popular wedding dress place. It took a while due to none of the dresses being right for Nancy. Luckily, the boutique they were at did custom works so the girls got together with the tailors and planned the dress designs. Isis then modeled bridesmaids dresses for Nancy, luckily they found one that can be copied for the others.
It was late when they wrapped things up, so Nancy invited Isis to her and Victor's place for dinner. Agreeing to it, Isis went over and had dinner with the couple. As the ladies were filling Victor in on the dresses, an important news report was alerted and the trio watched it. Apparently there was a peace summit that ended in success, but would've been worse if it weren't for Scotland Yard. Isis recalled the episode and was relieved not to be there. She was pretty sure she would've wolfed out and it wouldn't have gone well with the officials there.
Once everyone was full, Isis said her thanks and goodbyes, then heading back to Baker Street. Once there, she saw that Sherlock wasn't back yet. Isis yawned and went to get ready for bed. Seeing it was a long day, she decided to shower. As she was rinsing shampoo from her hair, Isis felt someone wrap their arms around her. Sensing their feelings, she knew it was Sherlock and giggled.
Guess the shower might take a lot longer.
Chapter 23: Date Night In!
Summary:
Isis introduces Sherlock to video games from her dimension and century. Might turn the detective into a gamer?
Notes:
(See the end of the chapter for notes.)
Chapter Text
A couple days after the summit, Isis was getting everything together for another date night. A while back, she had asked her sister to try to get all of her video games, consoles, and pc together and send it to her via transdimensional travel. Once she had it all, Isis had to rearrange her workshop so she can turn it into a gaming room as well. Then, had to wait for a day where both her and Sherlock can have another date without interruptions. Luckily, it was after a major case and everything seemed to be calm at the moment. Not wanting to waste this chance, Isis started getting everything set up and then had preordered food delivery for when they get hungry later.
Isis went to go find her boyfriend later and saw he was looking into buying a new musical instrument from this century. Smiling, Isis approached him and kissed his cheek. "Hey, handsome, how busy are you?" She asked.
Sherlock smiled and responds. "Just ordered a new instrument. I think it's time to give the 22nd century music a chance."
They share a kiss. "Happy to hear that, dear heart." Isis told him. "Now I have planned a date night in. One you might like!"
Seeing Sherlock looking curiously at her, Isis took his hand and led him away towards her workshop. Inside, Sherlock noticed the rearrangement in the room as well as the gaming setup. "What's all this?" He asked, gesturing towards the setup.
"That's my gaming setup!" Isis explained, happily. "I missed playing video games from my original home so I asked my sister to help get everything over here. May have bribed her with some clothes and toys from her for the kids, but worth it to play games and live stream again. I thought that tonight we date night in by introducing you to the gaming world with my video games. For food, I had preordered meals from your favorite places to be delivered at certain times so we have lunch and dinner. Basically, I want to introduce you to games that got me into playing video games, then we branch out to my favorite franchises."
Isis went over to the gaming couch she had recently put in the room and sat down. Uses telekinesis to grab a controller and activates the Nintendo 64. Sherlock follows and sits next to her as she activates her huge computer monitor. The opening of the console happens then goes to the opening screen of Super Mario World 64. Isis explained and showed her boyfriend what to do, even playing a few rounds to show him how to play the game. Sherlock watched fascinated by the technology and was interested in the story, as well as the amount of lore, behind the game as his girlfriend talked with excitement. She gave him the controller and couched him at certain parts of the game, but the detective managed to gain a quick understanding of how it's done and soon was breezing through the levels like nothing. Isis decided to secretly time her boyfriend, then was amazed at how Sherlock completed one of the games that got her into gaming in just about an hour. Then again, this Sherlock Holmes we are talking about.
Isis got up and turned the console off to switch games, explaining to the detective that since its basically labeled 'old school' that it still needs to be turned off before switching games out since it doesn't have the feature that consoles have today to switch games with the console still on. Next, they played Super Smash Bros. 64, the second game that got her into playing video games. As they played, Isis explained how when she was little her family got together every Christmas Eve with her mom's huge Italian family. The kids were huddled into a room where they played a 64console one of her cousins brought. When she was old enough, Isis was allowed to play with them and was introduced to those two games. She described the amount of backseat gaming that happened in SMW and how her cousins would get mad because she would play Jigglypuff to make her cousins go to sleep so she was able to get some hits in.
Time went by and their food came, the games and franchises they played were quickly beaten by Sherlock. So far, Isis found he liked Detroit Become Human(the deviant thing got his mind peaked at the possibility of it happening now), Resident Evil(puzzles he loved, Isis got a laugh at when he got implicated, the theories they cooked up based on lore), all Mario games(Sherlock seemed amazed how they are able to keep the story going and fresh with the same characters over the years), and all the Dungeons and Dragons video games. Especially Baldur's Gate 3, the two compared each other to their favorite romance companions and enjoyed poking fun at how similar they can be to each other.
Soon it was late, Sherlock had just beaten Honor Run of BG3 and was going to ask Isis if she was tired... only to find her asleep next to him, her head on his shoulder, lightly gripping his sleeve. Smiling, the detective detangled himself from her grip and lightly laid her down on the couch before turning her setup off. Then gently picked her up and left the room to take her to their bed to sleep.
Notes:
The story about the cousins is actually based on memories from my childhood. As for the romance companions in BG3 guess the two I was thinking of!
Chapter 24: I Hate Snakes!!!
Summary:
You guys know the episode I'm doing! Sorry it has been a while. Been so busy! Let's see if our resident wolf can deal with reptiles, especially snakes.
Chapter Text
November seemed to be a quiet month with very few cases here and there. Moriarty was also notoriously quiet, but our small group knew it was only a matter of time. For now, they try to find time to keep themselves busy or from worrying too much about the master criminal.
Sherlock and Isis had become even closer and trusting with each other. Both were falling more in love with each other, it seemed they were a lovely married couple to those who don't know them.
In Isis's birth dimension, her plan was going swimmingly thanks to her sister and the detective. The step-dad was in custody at a prison until a trial was decided. The next part of her plan came into effect soon after: viruses and AI she had secretly uploaded to the flash drive she gave her sister were working effortlessly to prevent governments from replicating what Moriarty has done and to ensure privacy and safety to her sister and their family. The next part is to capture Moriarty and use him for trial in both dimensions. Sherlock even volunteered as witness for her and to play supervisor for Moriarty when the time came.
At this moment, Isis and Sherlock were sleeping in bed together, the detective wore underpants just in case he got called out for a case. Isis, on the other hand, was nude after she and her boyfriend had sex before turning in for the night. They used protection and were careful after scoring themselves for being reckless the first time.
A communicator went off, causing the couple to slowly rouse from slumber. Isis let out a small whine. "Love, do you have to answer?" She asked, snuggling closer to the detective. "I don't want us to get up yet."
Sherlock chuckled and kissed the top of her head. "I know, but it could be important." He reasoned with her. "I will come right back to bed if it isn't." He promised.
Isis sighed and reluctantly let him go. Sherlock got up and went to answer the call, while Isis curled back into the blankets. She drowned out what was said because her mind was still in limbo between sleep and awareness. Feeling a shake on her shoulder, Isis poked her head out of the blankets.
"Seems we have case, my dear. Time to get up."
Sherlock chuckled again at her whine.
Genie Tech...great it's the snake episode! Isis thought to herself. She watched the scene play out as they talk about the time lock and security of the company. Why does it have to be one of the most creepiest and deadly reptiles?!
Hearing the time lock open the door, Isis moved to be next to her boyfriend and joined him as he, Watson, Beth, and the security guard as they entered the vault. Isis had to hide a smirk at Sherlock's "time clock" remark since the time on the clock in the room is flashing the wrong time. Isis walks the room, trying to find a scent and found one by the vent. It was a mix between human and an animal she never encountered much with, but knew it was snake.
Sherlock joined her and found what looked like bugs on the floor. "Lestrade, what do you make of these?" He asked, getting Beth's attention.
"Dead bugs!" Beth exclaimed in disgust.
"I think not." Sherlock looks to Isis. "What do you think, love?"
Isis got a decent look and visibly shuddered with fear and disgust. "Looks like reptile scales." She said, then announced what she found. "There is quite scent in hear that is similar to a hybrid like me, but I am guessing this person went with some creepy and scaly. Can't tell you who the person is unless I am within their vicinity."
Sherlock gave her a proud smile. "Well done, Isis. Lestrade, take these scales in for analysis. We might be able to narrow down the search areas to find the culprit."
After analyzing the scales at the station. Isis joined Sherlock and Watson to the zoo while Beth went to check the competitive companies for any connections. At the zoo, Isis was sad to see how everything was falling apart. She loved seeing animals in zoos as long as they were treated and cared for properly.
At the reptile house, the trio walked in and saw a young woman working at a desk. It was Dr.Roilott, or well the daughter of Dr. Grimsby Roilott who Sherlock wanted to meet. When Sherlock showed her the scales, Isis couldn't hold back the snicker at the name of the young doctor's snake.
At everyone's looks, she explained between fits of laughter. "Monty the Python... All I am recalling is some films that were by Monty Python! 'tis but a scratch!' Hahahahaha!" Isis started to laugh full out.
The young doctor started laughing as well. "Nice to know you are familiar with the classics." She then led the trio to the python's cage.
When inside the cage, Isis practically attached herself to Sherlock's arm, using her empathic abilities of her fear to give him a clue of why. Sherlock tried to keep her calm, but at Watson's outcry, Isis closed her eyes and buried her face into the detective's Inverness. Hearing Dr. Grimsby enter, she only looked up enough to register him before looking away in fear of see the snake. Once they got information about Chimeras and Dr. Forrest Chapman, the trio began to leave. Isis managed to muster up courage to get the scents of both doctors disguised as a nod of farewell. The daughter smelled like a regular human who works with snakes.
Grimsby smelled like the culprit.
Outside, Isis waited for the boys to finish their investigation of the place before the trio left the zoo premises. Once in the car, Isis immediately began to spill. "Grimsby is the suspect. He wreaks of the same scent as the vault thief. As to how he did it, I think a talk with Chapman is in order. I think our thief is not telling us something and he pointed towards someone who could actually help. Basically, handed us a way to pin him as our culprit in this case."
Arriving at Dr.Chapman's place, Isis kept close to her boyfriend and Watson. As they walked, they heard something and went to investigate. Suddenly, hybrid creatures appeared out of nowhere and started to attack. Isis wasted no time to partial shift and did a wolf howl and growl I'm a way to tell the creatures to stand down and back off. She didn't expect it to actually work!
Once the creatures, or chimeras as they are called, stood down Isis, still partially wolf out, begun to make calming noises mixed with some friendly sounding ones. Soon the chimeras were cuddling up to the wolf hybrid, who was laughing and giving them pets and belly rubs. Chapman came out armed, but stopped in shock at the interaction before him.
With proper introductions, Isis helped Chapman put the chimeras back in their cages without any problems. Inside the building, Chapman revealed all he knew and Isis looked around. She found the floor map of the company and smelt Grimsby's scent all over it.
"Sherlock, Watson, this man is innocent. If I were to hazard a guess. Grimsby came in here after letting the animals loose." Isis explained."If I were to hazard from Dr. Chapman's reaction to the scale, he can confirm with me that the asshole of a scientist is using our victim's work to turn himself into a human chimera. Our culprit let the animals loose as an distraction so he can come in here to plant these floor plans of the tech company. If I didn't have the nose I have, then Chapman would have been the fall guy to someone's scheme."
Chapman looked to her with relief. "Thank you, young lady. You might have saved this old man from imprisonment. May I ask what you meant by your nose?"
Isis nodded. "Look up Barkley and his animal DNA serum. The one he wanted to create super soldiers per military requests. It would give you insight on what happened to me."
Chapman nods. "I will. In return, you can visit my creatures whenever you want. They seemed to take a shine to you and I do not want to keep them from their new friend."
"In that case, we need a plan." Sherlock says.
After a near death hovercraft crash and rendezvous with Beth, the group head back to the zoo to confront Roilott. When they got there they saw Chapman digging.
"Anything, doctor?" Isis asked as she approached him.
"Got something." He replied and showed a shedded reptile hand.
"What the fuck!" Isis exclaimed as the others caught up with her. "Someone grab that for evidence. I feel sick." She stepped a few feet away and crouched down due to feeling faint. A cold hand was applied to her forehead, looking up Isis saw Watson's concerned face. "Thanks, the cold helps a lot."
"Will you be alright out here?" Watson asked.
Isis nodded. "Just trigger him enough to come out. When he goes on the offensive, it should trigger my need to protect you guys and attack that awful man."
Sherlock comes over. "A man who uses his old partner's work for his own financial gain as a thief is a man willing to be a criminal for anything." He looks at Isis. "Will you truly be alright?"
Isis nods. Everyone goes into the reptile house and Isis hid in the shadows. After a few minutes, she heard loud voices and soon a large snake appeared out of a window and begun to make its way to one of the habitats. The others come out and Isis whistled for them to follow her. She led them to the penguin habitat and saw Roilott in snake form.
"It's over, Dr. Roilott." Sherlock told him. "Come quietly, for your daughter's sake."
The snake man goes to attack, but Isis was a whole lot quicker. She jumped toward the creature and fully shifts into a giant wolf. Her clothes shredded as she morphed and soon was wrestling the snake man, having his throat in her mouth while he tried to strangle her with his body.
"Use the water!" Chapman called to her. "Cold blood creatures don't do well with the cold!"
Without a moment to spare, Isis used what freedom her legs have left and jumped into the cold water. Once in, Roilott let her go and she released him after feeling him begin to shift back. When he did Isis helped him out where his daughter gave him a blanket and towel to help warm him up while Beth begins to arrest him. Isis decided to dry off as a wolf by shaking her whole body until no water was dripping off her.
"Isis!" Sherlock called to her. She looked to see him holding out his Iverness. "You might want to shift back. Use this to cover up."
Isis took it lightly in her mouth before hiding behind a bunch of trees and bushes in the habitat. Soon she came out completely wrap head to toe and went to Sherlock. She was still shaking from the cold, noticing this the detective picked her up and held her close.
"Try to stay awake, love." He murmured to her.
Isis nodded and focused on staying awake.
Isis was pressed up against the bathroom wall as Sherlock kissed her deeply. Once they got back to Baker Street, Isis immediately went to the bathroom to have a warm shower to get the last of the cold away. Sherlock joined her after and it went from making sure Isis wasn't going to have hypothermia to the two going at it in the bathroom.
Sherlock pulled away and looked at her. Isis looked at him back and blushed from the heated look he was giving her. Soon he lined up and the bathroom was filled with moans and cries of pleasure. He mad e her come twice before pulling out and releasing onto the shower floor.
"Someone was eager." Isis commented, a blissful smile on her face. "Not that I am complaining, but usually you are the more composed one out of the two of us."
Sherlock gave her a long kiss. "After what happened today, I wanted to be sure you were ok." He replied. "Just didn't expect to have intercourse in the bathroom."
Isis gave a quiet giggle before finishing cleaning herself up. "Well, if you clean up real quick, we can continue in the bedroom."
Let's just say they didn't sleep immediately for the rest of the night.
