Summary:

Everyone—the chain and the Zeldas—plays Truth or Dare! What secrets will be told? Who’s the bravest of the bunch? How will this story unfold?

Notes:

Paloma, so sorry for handing you this so late, but I was your Secret Santa! Hope you enjoy what I’ve got here for you :D

Anyway, it’s been so long since I’ve posted anything! April of 2022, wow. Yes I’m still here lol. And so is Tide!

This fic was meant to be a oneshot but as I was actually writing it out, I caught a 102F fever. Oops! Still managed to post this though, because I may have a 102F fever, but this fic won’t write itself.

Anyway, I present to you: “Truth or Dare (Princess Edition)”

Chapter 1: Twilight and Tetra

Chapter Text

“So.” Wild handed the last cup of tea on his tray to Sky, “I think we should do something while we’re here.”

Four had taken a liking to this development. The chain had been slaying monsters in Wild’s Hyrule. But, after some time, Wild noticed the weather prediction feature on his Sheikah Slate indicated a huge thunderstorm coming in. Each of them collectively decided to call it a day at Wild’s place, where Flora, Dot, and the other Zeldas were staying at.

He heard a chuckle coming from underneath him. “How much do you wanna bet he’ll say something stupid?” Shadow materialized next to him and wrapped an arm around his shoulders.

Four rolled his eyes but leaned into the hug. “He always says stupid things. What would make this time any different?”

Before Shadow could say anything back, Wild placed the tray on the kitchen countertop. “Let’s play ‘Truth or Dare!’”

Instantly, Wind jumped from his seat. “Yes yes yes! Please let me go first, I have plenty of ideas!” The sailor’s smile didn’t diminish even after Tetra told him to “Calm down and wait your turn, dude.”

Four and Shadow shared a Look before bursting into laughter with the rest of the chain and the Zeldas. “Truth or Dare?” Shadow twirled a string of hair. “This should be fun. Hey, Four,” he nudged his partner, “how badly do you want to embarrass the Old Man?”

“As much as I would love to do that,” Four sighed, “he would get back at me twice as hard. I’m aiming for the veteran.”

Warriors stood up and reached for a quill. “I think the princesses should start us off. After all, ladies first.” He grabbed a sheet of parchment from his pouch and wrote something. “Alright, Zeldas. Pick a number between 1 and 50.”

There were nine Zeldas present. Dawn chose to stay behind to run the kingdom because there were no other suitable substitutes who could lead in the absence of both Dawn and Aurora for an extended period of time. Once the nine Zeldas picked a number, Warriors announced the winner. “Looks like Flora is up first! The number was 46.”

“Oh!” Flora sounded surprised to go first but got over it quickly. “Um. Twilight, Truth or Dare?”

Clearly, Twilight did not want to go first. Four didn’t blame him though. He wouldn’t have wanted to go first either. “Uh. Truth?”

“What’s the stupidest thing you’ve done while herding goats?”

Wild looked a little too excited to hear what the rancher had to say.

“I…” Twilight shuddered, “held bait over my head to try to herd them faster. It certainly was fast, but at the cost of breaking three of my ribs. Definitely learned that lesson.”

“How old were you?” Wild asked.

Twilight groaned. “Sixteen.”

“HAH!”

Four and Shadow laughed with everyone else. Twilight did seem like someone who wouldn’t do anything stupid, but he was just as crazy as the others.

“Alright alright,” Twilight looked around the room to pick the next victim. “Tetra, Truth or Dare.”

“Dare,” she answered with no hesitation.

“Steal something from your favorite person in the room.”

Tetra scoffed. “That’s easy. Wind, come here.”

Wind’s eyes widened but stood up and walked toward Tetra anyway. Shadow and the boys sat up and watched with interest.

“Tetra,” Wind stood at a comfortable distance from her, “I’ve got nothing on me, and you don’t have the element of surprise. What could you possibly steal from me?”

“Nah, nothing like that,” Tetra grinned. “Only something that belongs to me.”

Tetra dashed at Wind, who tried to jump away from her. However, Tetra seemed used to how Wind reacted and predicted his movements. Once she was within reach, she grabbed the front of his tunic and yanked him toward her.

Wind lost his balance. Tetra took full advantage and locked lips with the sailor.

Everyone gasped at this. Especially Shadow. Even Four.

No one spoke a word during the kiss. Wind’s cheeks darkened, but he went along with it. He wrapped his arms around Tetra and kissed her back. It didn’t last long, but when the two of them separated, the pair looked as if they had finished running all of Hyrule.

Tetra seemed satisfied, even if a little flustered after all. “Stole my favorite person’s first kiss. That should be good, right?”

That broke the spell. Warriors teased the two relentlessly (“I didn’t know you had pull, Wind! You’ve got yourself a great one.”), Hyrule and Legend were gripping each other’s tunics as tears of laughter soaked their clothes, Sky and Time smiled knowingly (“Young love, eh?”), and Wild held Flora’s hand and watched the two as if something similar didn’t happen to them.

Needless to say, the other Zeldas were ecstatic as well, and were cheering and supporting Tetra for her forwardness.

“That went well,” Four closed his eyes. “You remember when we got together, Shadow?”

Shadow pointedly did not look at Four.

Notes:

Thank you for reading! And Paloma, I hope you enjoyed what I’ve got for you so far.

This little fic will be a short series of truth or dares! If you have any ideas for any truths or any dares, feel free to share and I might add them in :)
