Imprisonment of my own Making

Summary:

This was his fault. Aemond reminded him of it constantly.

He deserves this. This hatred, this imprisonment and abuse. Being broken down and belittled. What is he supposed to do? Lucerys didn't know what to do, everything was taken from him and he deserved nothing.

But what if he deserved his freedom? What if he deserve his own child and life? What if, what if, what if.

Notes:

Chapter Text

The war was over, it had been for a long time now. Lucerys wasn’t completely sure how long it has been, the days go by and he has lost track of time. Being trapped in the same room, not being allowed to see anyone does that to someone.

The Greens had won, Aegon was the victor in the Dance of Dragons. He won as soon as he had his mother burnt to a crisp by dragon fire in front of him and little Aegon. It was heartbreaking to hear his baby brother cry out for their mother and all Lucerys had done was hold him close to make sure he didn’t run into the fire in an attempt to save their mother.

Queen Rhaenyra was no more.

Everyone in the courts had rejoiced in happiness while Lucerys and his little brother mourned for the last family they had left. That night after Lucerys made sure his baby brother was sleeping soundly, Aemond entered his rooms.

Told him they were to be wed and Lucerys had laughed in disbelief at first. It had quickly changed to horror once he realized his Uncle was serious.

“You can’t be serious Uncle.”

“Oh, but I am Nephew,” Aemond had drawled, his eye was wide in madness, clearly enjoying his fear, “It was the King who ordered it himself. You and I are to be wed within a moon and you will be mine.”

“And if I were to refuse?” Lucerys asked, his voice weak as Aemond only smirked.

“Then I shall kill your last living brother in front of you.”

“You wouldn’t,” Lucerys breathed.

“You truly want to test me? Refuse and see what happens Lucerys.”

In the end he didn’t refuse, he knew better than to test Aemond. His Uncle has proven just how far he is willing to go when it comes to the crown. He wasn’t even King and he had gone as far as burning thousands of innocents.

Lucerys wondered if he were to become a kinslayer to take Aegon’s crown. He wouldn’t be a bit surprised if it did happen. He heard the whispers about how when they had the hunt for Aegon, how Aemond was bitter about it. How he almost let Aegon get away so they would crown him instead of the drunken fool.

He didn’t know who would have been worse on the throne. Aegon or Aemond.

The possibility of Lucerys seeing both of them on the Throne was high.

“Are you ready to get married to my brother?”

Lucerys stayed stubbornly silent as he watched the handmaid's move quickly around him. They have been poking and prodding him since this morning and Lucerys was close to snap at them. Far too close for his liking but he wouldn’t do it with Aegon in the room. He would never give him the satisfaction.

“I asked you a question baby Nephew, it would be best if you were to answer. I am the King after all.”

“I do not have a choice in the matter so I suppose I am ready.”

His answer did not satisfy Aegon and it made him pleased to see how Aegon frowned. The maids were silent, especially with the King in the room, not daring to say a word even if it was improper for him to be in the room with his brothers betrothed.

“I expected more of a fuss, more of a show really. You have always been spoiled and got what you wanted.”

“I am no longer a child Uncle, I do not throw temper tantrums now.”

“Give it a couple more hours I think, then you truly will be distressed.”

Lucerys hated the fact that Aegon was correct. In a couple of hours he would be married off to his new husband. He was already struggling with his nerves and he knew it was going to only get worse. With the smirk on Aegon's face, his Uncle knew it too.

“I shall see you in an hour, see how you are holding up then, after all, I want a show.”

Lucerys swore to himself that he would never give his Uncle the show he wanted.

“If that is what you wish your Grace,” He said and Aegon beamed at the title.

“It is what I wish, why thank you Lucerys,” He smiled and with that he was gone.

The handmaids still didn’t say anything to him, they wouldn’t even look at him. As if he was the dirt beneath their shoe and he bit the inside of his lip. They had fitted him into an emerald gown, Hightower green with long sleeves that were loose. It was beautiful, but he didn’t see it as a wedding gown.

It was already humiliating enough for him to be in a dress no less, but to be in Hightower green was enough to make him want to rage. Of course Aemond wanted to humiliate him, it was always what he wanted. Revenge for the eye Lucerys had stolen.

Lucerys would take his other eye if he could.

“Prince, we need you to hold still please.”

He only wanted to scream at that moment.

Just as Aegon said, he came back in an hour with a grin on his face. Lucerys only glared at him and that seemed to make his Uncle even more thrilled.

“Oh we are angry! How exciting.”

If only he could say the things he wanted to. Aegon only turned towards the maids and waved them off, “Now shoo shoo, you did your job now leave.”

“But your Grace you are not allowed to be alone-”

“I am King, I can do what I want. Now leave,” He demanded and the maids were quick to scurry off. Cowards Lucerys thought to himself.

“Aemond always did say you would look good in our colours, hate to admit it but he was right. Now if you tell Aemond I said that I will deny it and he will believe me over you. So don’t try anything.”

“Of course your Grace,” Lucerys hissed and Aegon only patted him on the head as if he were a child.

“Good good, you already know your place. Aemond will be thrilled!”

“Why are you doing this?” Lucerys asked and that made Aegon hesitate. No matter how confident Aegon tried to be, Lucerys knew the truth. The King was terrified and he knew how many people were plotting his murder.

“Doing what nephew?”

“Marrying me to Aemond.”

“To control him of course. You see Lucerys,” Aegon said as he took a step closer, placing a hand onto his waist before he leaned in to whisper against his ear. It only made Lucerys shudder in disgust, “If he oversteps, all I have to do is threaten you. All he ever wanted is you and I will gladly remind him how it was me who gave you to him.”

He hated how he trembled and Aegon only giggled in glee before he pulled away, “Now do you understand?”

“Yes, your Grace.”

Lucerys was horrifyingly surprised by how smart Aegon is. He never thought his drunken Uncle could turn into a cruel man. He didn’t even know he was capable of it, now he could see how his mother underestimated him.

“Good, now come, have to take you to your altar. Can’t keep my brother waiting now can we?”

Lucerys only nodded, he hated to admit it but he was nervous. He felt terrified, he wasn’t safe and no one was coming for him. They were all dead. But he had to do this for Aegon, for his baby brother.

He had to keep him safe.

Every step he took only made him feel as if he was walking deeper into his prison that he could never escape. Even when the music started and the doors swung open, even after seeing Aemond waiting for him, Lucerys had the urge to bolt. As if Aegon could sense his emotions, his arms tightened painfully around his arm.

“Run now and I will make you pay for it,” Was all Ageon whispered to him and Lucerys swallowed back the urge to vomit.

The dread that settled deep in his chest and belly never went away, even as the priest rambled on and on about the Faith that Lucerys had no love for. When he was a young boy he always dreamed to marry the way his mother and Daemon did. It seemed so much more intimate and beautiful than the wedding he was experiencing now.

When he was younger and more naïve, he had a childhood crush on Aemond. Thought maybe they could get through their differences but he was a child with silly hopes. He should have known better and a part of him hated how his mother would indulge him for it. Making empty promises that Aemond would forgive him.

Lies. All of them.

They kissed when the priest told them too, it held no emotion, only cold indifference.

He still held his head up high despite the snickers from the Lords and Ladies. He made sure to make eye contact with them all as they looked away, shamed for being caught. Aemond simply ignored him, he was probably relishing in the fact that he had succeeded to humiliate him.

He wondered if Aegon wanted a turn to humiliate him. He would in his own time. Or maybe tonight when he is deep in his cups. The latter was more likely to happen, he thought to himself as Aemond led him to the feast hall.

It was overwhelmingly loud for him, the laughter and the dances. Made him sick to his stomach as he remembered how they danced when his mother was sentenced to death by dragonbreath. He could only stare down at the food with no desire to eat. He hated how Aemond was quick to notice.

“Eat now, don’t want to embarass me now do you?” His new husband whispered into his ear and Lucerys bit the inside of his cheek to keep his anger in check.

“Yes of course.”

“Of course?” Aemond insisted and Lucerys knew what he wanted.

“Of course, husband.”

“Better.”

He shoved bread into his mouth to prevent from saying something he would regret. Maybe if he ate he would be allowed to dance with his brother. Or even just get to talk to him once more. Little Aegon was seated on the other side of Aemond and Aegon. He didn’t even know it was possible to miss someone who was at the same table as you.

He didn’t even ask for permission as he quickly finished his food, standing up as he moved to the other end of the table. A harsh grip on his wrist stopped him and Lucerys sighed softly as he turned to look at Aemond.

“Did I give you permission to leave the table?”

No. No he did not.

“I just want to go see my brother Aemond.”

His husband tightened his grip and Lucerys whimpered lightly in pain before the hand dropped. He was quick to flee, whatever Aemond was about to say was ignored as Aegon whined for him. Seeing his brother’s arms reach out to him was everything to him as he was quick to scoop him up.

His baby brother immediately buried his face into his dark curls and Lucerys had to fight back his tears. This was for him, everything he did was for him and Aegon would never know. He would do anything to make sure Aegon didn’t know how protected he was. He wanted him to live his life as carefree as he could despite the circumstances.

He knew it would never happen but he was going to allow himself to believe it, just this once.

“Are you okay little one?”

Aegon only wrapped his arms tightly around him and Lucerys knew that Aegon was going to kick up a fuss if he were to be removed from his arms anytime soon.

“It’s too loud Lucy.”

It was so quiet he almost missed it and Lucerys kissed Aegon’s temple in apology, “I know little one, but just a bit longer. Can you do that for me?”

A nod. Good.

“Good, anything you wanna do? Want to go dancing?”

“I want to sit with you.”

Lucerys smiled as he nodded. He loved his baby brother so much, it had originally scared him how fiercely he loved his little siblings despite them having a different father. But he was glad for it. While Jace had excelled in training, Lucerys had excelled in his languages and taking care of his baby siblings.

His mother was more than relieved to pass them onto him so she could have a few hours to herself. Baela would always say how horrible it was to always be stuck with them but Lucerys never once complained.

Even how with Aegon being only five years of age did he allow him to sit in his lap for as long as he wanted. Aegon deserved it, Lucerys had reasoned. He needed the extra comfort after the trauma he had gone through in his short span of life so far.

Lucerys would be okay as long as Aegon was okay.

He sat down, ignoring the looks he was getting from his Uncles as he simply watched. Thankfully with his baby brother in his lap it gave him an excellent excuse to not have to participate in any dances. The only dance would be with his new husband which Aemond had forgone.

Aemond must have felt some pity on him because he had given him at least a couple of hours with Aegon before he stole him away. Aegon screamed in his displeasure as a nanny took him away and Lucerys felt awful about it all.

“He is spoiled.”

“He is loved,” Lucerys said and Aemond only huffed.

“You give him too much affection, he needs to grow without it.”

“He can get as much as he wants. I will not deny him that.”

That seemed to make Aemond pause before he sighed, a hand wrapping around his upper arm before he was tugged down the hall.

“Of course you would think that. You were a spoiled little thing and always got what you wanted.”

“Aemond-”

“Do not say my name.”

The conversation ended there until they reached their new shared chambers. He let out a yelp as he was shoved through the door, a slam that echoed through the room. He almost tripped over the damn fabric of the dress thankfully catching himself before he did actually fall and making a fool of himself.

He knew what his Uncle thought of him already, he didn’t need to give him more things to bully him for.

“You disobeyed me, you have no respect do you?” Aemond growled as he shoved Lucerys once more and Lucerys squeaked.

“I did nothing!”

“You publicly ignored me!”

Lucerys gritted his teeth in anger as he shoved Aemond back, “I just wanted to see Aegon, you knew that.”

“Let me make this clear you brat, I come first, I am more important than your little brother. You answer me. I own you.”

“Own me?” Lucerys hissed, “I am my own person. My family comes first.”

“I come first husband. Not anyone else Lucerys and you will learn this, I control your brother's life.”

And was that a slap in the face of a reminder. Aemond could kill Aegon if he truly wanted and the King would only shrug it off and blame Lucerys for the little boy's death. Would mock him for being a bad wife.

He couldn’t even bring himself to say anything. He felt humiliated, so tense that he could feel the exhaustion kick in and he was scared. If he was brave like Jace he would take a knife and swing, if he was smart like his mother he would know what to do. If he was anything like Daemon he wouldn’t have allowed this to happen in the first place.

But he was nothing like them. He was Lucerys, a pathetic boy who struggled to protect himself.

“Get on the bed Lucerys.”

“We don’t have to do this, you know your brother would just wave off any rumors-”

“I said get on the bed. I will not ask again.”

“Aemond please. I don’t want to do this.”

Aemond only slapped him, the shock of the hit stunned Lucerys. He wasn’t expecting it and it was enough of a pause from him that gave his Uncle a chance to shove him onto the bed. Panic clawed at him as Aemond was quick to rearrange him to his desire.

“You will do your duty.”

“Wait-” Lucerys breathed but Aemond wasn’t going to wait, “Stop!”

“Stop being a child, Lucerys. You are only going to make this worse for yourself.”

Aemond was stronger than him, his years of sword training giving him a much greater advantage over him. He could only try to breathe when Aemond pinned him to the mattress, the sound of fabric ripping and the sudden cold air on his legs only told him what he needed to know.

No matter how much he begged, Aemond was not going to stop. He was going to take him against his will and Lucerys is forced to take it.

Fingers roughly brushed against his hole and Lucerys only jerked at the touch. He didn’t want this.

“Please don’t,” He cried and he hated himself for crying, it seemed like Aemond also hated him for crying too.

“Shut up! You think this is enjoyable for me?”

Yes, Lucerys did think that Aemond was enjoying this. Aegon had told him Aemond wanted him. That he gave him to Aemond to control his brother. If Aemond wanted him then why was he doing this?

So many thoughts and questions in his head and no answers, he sniffled as he stared up at the ceiling. Lucerys only jerked back into motion when he felt slicked up fingers press up against his hole, probing at it and he squirmed.

He could only sob when Aemond’s fingers slipped inside him, roughly scraping at his walls in discomfort. It only hurt and he had to take it, he knew it didn’t help that he was tensed up like a coiled spring but he was unable to relax.

“If you don’t relax by the time I shove my cock inside you the pain will be on you. You understand me?”

Lucerys could only cry as his body trembled, he tried desperately to relax his mind. His thoughts raced as Aemond took his fingers away and hitched Lucerys’ legs up to his shoulders. The head of his cock pressing up against him and Lucerys knew he had failed in calming his mind. There was no way for him to.

“This is on you Lucerys, you deserve this bastard,” Aemond gritted out, his eye wild and dark in desire. He was enjoying this no doubt.

A scream tore through the air as hips met one another and Lucerys only felt blinding pain as he clawed at the sheets. His mind blank as all he could feel was his maidenhead being forcibly taken from him. He felt so full and he only screeched as Aemond thrusts were brutal, the pain altering with each one.

He barely felt the slap Aemond gave him before he took a fist full of hair and yanking, “So dramatic aren't you? Keep your attention on me, bastard.”

The scent of blood and tears was potent and Lucerys' cries quietened as he focused on getting enough air as his body started to betray him. His cock was filling and he was horrified that he could feel hints of pleasure in his belly start to awaken.

No, not like this.

A dark laugh was all he could hear as the hand from his hair moved to squeeze around his throat and Lucerys’ body spasmed in pleasure.

“You are enjoying this aren’t you? Taking me so well like the whore I knew you would be,” Aemond growled lowly and Lucerys only tried to shake his head but Aemond’s hand tightened around his throat.

He gasped desperately for air.

“Don’t worry little one, I’m close.”

A low whine left his lips when Aemond finally loosened his hold, air suddenly easier to breathe. The sounds that were heard slowly turned from pain to pleasure and Lucerys screwed his eyes shut. He knew he must look like a sight to his Uncle and he had already known how close Aemond was to his own orgasm as the man started to let loose his own grunts as his hips faltered into an unsteady rhythm.

He was so close to tipping over the edge when he heard Aemond growl, his hand around his throat tightening briefly as warmth filled him. Lucerys wanted to curl into himself but with Aemond between his legs he couldn't.

He felt humiliated and more than ashamed as Aemond moved his hand from his throat to his neglected cock. Three strokes in and Lucerys trembled through his own orgasm. The haze of his pleasure finally erased any light pain he had still felt when Aemond moved away, his cock slipping out of him.

He felt empty and a whimper left him. But he didn’t get any touches of comfort, no softness from his new husband who only moved off of the bed. He didn’t expect too after that and finally he could curl into himself, his legs coming up to his chest in a poor attempt to comfort himself.

“It is done, now sleep,” Aemond commanded.

And how he tried. He wanted to slip into the darkness that was sleep but he couldn’t. Not yet at least. Instead he laid there, trying to keep his tears at bay as he began to tremble from the combination of pain and the chill in the air.

If his mother was alive, if Daemon was here, this would have never happened. He knew Aemond was cruel but he never thought he would go so low as to this. Aemond always said loudly he never wanted to be like Aegon.

But he was, and here Lucerys laid on his marriage bed, curled up in a fetal position, his chest hitching as the last of his innocence and childhood was ripped away from him. Duty they said.

This was not duty. This was worse and now Lucerys had to live through it.

They just call it duty to hide the horrors of it.

He did not know if he had the strength too but he had to. Daemon had told him he had dragon blood in his veins and dragons did not give up and so he wouldn't. He vowed to himself he wouldn’t right there at that moment.

He heard the door to their room close and he knew that Aemond had left. He was torn from feeling relieved and feeling neglected and wasn’t that a funny thing? HIs emotions were so jumbled together he couldn’t tell which is which when he finally felt sleep start to tug at him.

He happily allowed himself to fall into it.

The thing with sleep is after one does fall asleep, one also has to eventually wake up.

Lucerys groaned as he shifted on top of the sheets, his body screaming at him in pain and protest. It only made him groan louder as his eyelids fluttered open. It was daylight, the sunlight filtering in and warming his body and he embraced the warmth.

Allowed himself to float in it as he tried to move without feeling heavy and pain. And slowly he came to full alert and Lucerys paused. Something wasn’t right.

He shot up, ignoring the pain and that was when he felt the heaviness around his neck. Fingers coming up to brush against metal and when he looked he was horrified. He was chained to the wall.

“What?” He whispered as he tugged on the chain.

“Good morning husband.”

He jumped as he turned to find Aemond sitting in the chair in front of the fireplace. No emotion on his face and he looked regal. Beautiful and he hated that thought.

“Aemond, what is this?”

Finally his lips curled into a smile and Aemond only leaned forward, “This is your calling.”

Lucerys only glared as he shifted and that was when he realized he was in clothes. How did he sleep through this?

“This is your new life, Lucerys. You will not leave this room, you will not be seeing anyone unless I permit it and you will not disobey me.”

“Not leave?” Lucerys whispered horrified as he stared down at his hands, his mind wouldn’t settle.

“You will look at me when I speak bastard.”

He finally moved so his eyes met Aemond’s eye.

“You can’t do this.”

A chuckle, “Oh but I can. You are mine now, I can do whatever I please with you.”

He felt as if he couldn’t breathe, the horror of it all truly sinking in. His room was his prison. He was chained to a wall like a bird that is trapped in a cage.

“The only people you will see are myself and the two maids I have chosen for you. Do not think they will be your friends, they work for me,” Aemond continued and Lucerys eyes burned with tears.

“Don’t do this please! I will do whatever you wish but please!” Lucerys begged as he moved.

But before he could get anywhere close to Aemond, his body jerked as the metal around his neck prevented him from doing so. The chain only allowed him to be a few feet away from his bed, nowhere close to anything that could be used as a weapon, nowhere close to the baths that were on the other side of the room.

“Begging will not help you bastard. This is your place and you will learn it.”

“Aemond-”

“Do not! Call me by that name,” Aemond shouted and Lucerys flinched, “You will call me husband and that is it.”

“You are no husband of mine!” Lucerys cried, “You are a monster.”

“A monster you created, Lucerys. This,” He waved a hand around the room, “This is all your doing. This is your fault.”

Lucerys couldn't find it in him to answer. Was Aemond right? Was this what he deserved?

“Aegon, my brother?”

“Will only see you once a month. No more.”

His chest felt tight, his breaths coming quicker as he trembled. No, no, no. He squeaked as his knees finally gave out, landing hard on the floor and Aemond only seemed to enjoy his suffering.

“I have duties to attend to now, I shall see you tonight.”

Lucerys only felt rage like never before. He never wanted to kill a man before until now.

“Don’t you dare! Aemond don’t you fucking dare!” He screeched as Aemond walked away, “I will take your other eye you monster!”

Aemond only laughed as he paused at the door, “I would like to see you try,” He taunted before the door slammed shut behind him, leaving Lucerys in a gasping mess behind him.

Lucerys let out an ugly sob as he leaned forward so his forehead was touching the floor, curling his arms to wrap around himself. He wished he had died there at that moment, that maybe this was a nightmare. It was a nightmare he so badly wanted to wake up from but he wouldn’t wake up.

This was all his fault.
