Work Text:

Wednesday, the ten year old girl, was strolling through their plain field at the back of their house which is quite near to it. She was walking her leashed scorpion named, Nero when she saw a little girl that looks like her age, staring at the dead tree. She was almost about to cry. The dark haired girl approached the girl. “What has gotten you like that?” Wednesday asked the girl who turned her head to look at her. “Why is it dead? Why is everything looks so gloomy? I hate gloomy!” The girl exclaimed, now sobbing and crying. The dark eyed girl knitted her eyebrows, feeling a little sympathetic with the girl.

“It’s how it is in my neighborhood.” Wednesday pointed and the girl whimpered. Nero walked up to her making the girl yelped, scared of it. “Don’t worry, he doesn’t harm. He’s worried.” The dark haired girl added and the girl crouched and cautiously lifted her hand and patted Nero who danced happily. The girl giggled. “I didn’t quite catch your name. I’m Wednesday Addams.” Wednesday introduced herself and the blond haired girl perked up, her eyes are sparkling. “An Addams?! Oh, I have been a fan of Addams family! I’m Enid Sinclair, by the way.”

Enid said, standing up straight with a large smile on her face. It did make Wednesday smile. She made a new friend. One thing, she always ask for. “We can buy sunflower seeds. Make this area a little brighter for you.” The dark eyed girl suggested and Enid gasped. “You would do that for me?” Enid asked in high pitch manner before Wednesday hummed in response while nodding her head. The blond threw herself onto the other girl, giving her a hug while thanking her. For the first time, she felt she needed this hug gesture even though she doesn’t like physical contact.

The two hand in hand went to a nearby town and found the flower store. The florist was surprised to see an Addams daughter, more likely, coming in contact with a ball of sunshine. They bought sunflower seeds and went back to the same plain field area. Wednesday helped Enid who is clueless in planting it. Good thing, Gomez taught his daughter how to do it. They plat the seeds no more than an inch deep and about six inches apart. Once they are they are buried, Enid watered it with only an inch of water since they don’t require much water.

“Thanks for the help with this. I know I am just new here in the neighborhood but you welcomed me warmly.” The blue eyed girl muttered, looking down on her lap. After planting the seeds, the two sat down on the ground, Wednesday keeping an eye on Nero who’s walking back and forth. “It’s alright. No need to thank me.” Wednesday spoke, gazing up to Enid who looked at her. The two shared a smile and with that, they are now needed home.

“My little viper, where were you?” Gomez asked his daughter, giving her a slight hug before pulling back. “Somewhere in our place, found a friend.” Wednesday replied, a small smile on her lips. Gomez brightened and Morticia swayed in as this caught her interest. “I’m glad that my little darling had found a friend.” Morticia said and the two Addams parents gazed at each other lovingly. Wednesday scrunched up in disgust. “Lurch, prepare me my hot bath while I take Nero to his place.” The dark haired girl as she went up the stairs with Nero behind her.

“Urrghh…” Lurch responded. Wednesday goes to Nero’s room, took off the leash and put some food on Nero’s bowl. Thing came in, tapping his fingers. “Thank you, I will be right there.” Wednesday said, nodding her head. She went to her own bedroom, got her night clothes, towel before going to the bathroom Lurch had prepared for her as ordered. Taking off her clothes, she sank on the warm bathtub.

Every day, Enid would sneak out her family just to see Wednesday, there was one time that she had meet the Addams family, even Thing and Lurch and the three year old Pugsley. Enid was happy with Wednesday’s family unlike her own who treats her like garbage. The two girls would chase each other in the house, with Thing, they would stroll around and watch some horror movies. “AH! This is so scary!” The blond would always say as she pounced onto Wednesday, gripping onto her like her life depended onto it. Whenever Enid would whimper, the dark haired girl would always turn it off, calming Enid down.

For some reason, her dead and cold heart is now beating lively and melting for her. Wednesday had gone soft for the blond werewolf. She wrapped an arm around Enid’s waist and Enid buried herself on Wednesday’s chest more. From the background, Morticia and Gomez watch their daughter’s actions with the Sinclair. They sighed in delight.

One day it ended up in a wreck, the Sinclair family had found that their daughter has been sneaking up in morning, afternoon and at the middle of the night. She has been going to Addams household and the Sinclair has this grudge on them. Enid ended up moving on another place. “I don’t want to be separated to you!” Enid shouted, tears falling down her eyes. “Me either, Enid. I’m sorry it ended up this way.” Wednesday apologized but Enid shook her head, quickly disagreeing.

“Will I ever see you again, Weds?” The blond haired girl questioned and the dark haired girl took a step, wrapping her arms around the girl’s torso. “I will do everything just for you, Enid.” Wednesday responded and this made Enid cry more, wrapping her arms around Wednesday’s body. Suddenly, Enid was harshly pulled away from the Addams girl that made Gomez grab Wednesday protectively, glaring at Esther. “We need to go now, you brat.” Esther grumbled and the dark haired girl tried to struggle from her parents’ grip, tears are falling down her cheeks trying to get to Enid again.

Wednesday pressed the last note on her piano. A song Golden Hour is she performed in her room with Thing sitting beside her. A good melody that turned dark in the end is how she would describe her childhood nine years ago. She didn’t get back to Enid. She misses her every day, hoping that they would bump into each other one day but it never came true. Today, she is transferring to Nevermore Academy after getting expelled at least twenty times in these years. They drove for at least three hours, almost vomiting on the side of the road because of her parents getting all lovey dovey with each other, in front of her. Really? In front of my salad?

They arrived at the Nevermore Academy and into Principal Weems’ office. “From your records…it’s quite awful.” Weems mentioned, furrowing her eyebrows and Wednesday nodded her head stiffly as a thank you. In Nevermore Academy, there are dorms and each of them has roommate but for the Addams girl, it was different because of her records from the previous school. The Addams family left her with Thing. Thing tapped his fingers on the bed. “Yes, I know, Thing. I had a hunch.” Wednesday responded, plopping on her bed. She thinks every possible and impossible scenarios in her head and just sighed, getting up on her bed to start writing her novel while Thing accompanies her.

She write everything so horrifyingly beautiful. She loves it, she loves the way how it portrays her mind into her own novel. Wednesday always seemed so lost when she writes as it brings happiness to her but sadly her time is up after an hour. It was now night and she needed dinner. Wednesday didn’t want to get down the stairs to their Nevermore cafeteria, it will cause her nothing but trouble. She likes to spend her precious time on her own so she opens her big window with a bow and arrows on her back, to her balcony she jumps down with Thing on her shoulder. The dark haired girl got a hold on the other balconies, slowly getting down to the floor.

Once she landed, she gets her bow from her back and started running through the nearby woods. Wednesday readies her arrow on the bow as she saw a deer. Shooting it is successful. Thing helps her with chopping off its limbs, just taking one and getting ready to go back to Nevermore when she heard a snarl. “Who’s there?!” Wednesday shouted, turning around in a snap motion, her bow and arrow already aimed everywhere. Growls and shuffles, she finally saw the figure. It was tall monster, looks like a werewolf but isn’t at the same time.

The dark eyed girl widens her eyes in amusement. It brings her thrill to finally see something that can make her love this Nevermore Academy. Smirking to herself, she shot the monster and it howled in pain, scramming its way towards the opposite. They made it back to her dorm and started cooking. It was quite nice that she have the dorm all by herself, meaning, more space for kitchen and sofa. Wednesday ate dinner when her door opened. “Hello, Wednesday. I’m your dorm mom and it seems like your enjoying your alone time.” The ginger haired woman said as she intrude the Addams girl’s dorm.

“Yes, I was enjoying it however, you decided to ruin my solitude.” Wednesday replied, glaring hardly at the woman who just smiled sweetly to her. “I’m Marilyn Thornhill, by the way. I’ll be leaving you now. I’m sure you read the rules.” With that, Thornhill left her room. Sighing down, she did her night routine while Thing did the dishes and the little mess she made. Wednesday laid down on her bed, getting a black pocket book to read until her eyelids weighs and she fell asleep.

Wednesday Addams has been staying at Nevermore for a week and it was boring. It’s been a while since the monster had shown up that’s why she is bored. “Botany class, physics class and literature.” Wednesday muttered to herself as she read her time table. Most of the people feared her except for this Bianca Barclay and Xavier Thorpe. Bianca can be a bitch sometimes but they do get along in some ways. Xavier just take her as a joke for being scared of her. They know that Wednesday doesn’t like physical touch and nobody even dared to physically touch her or say something behind her back. They know how wide Wednesday’s hearing.

She sat on her seat in Botany class. “Itsy bitsy spider crawled up to the girl.”  Xavier sung, changing the lyrics as he hovers his hand on his spider drawing. The drawing came into life as it crawled up to Wednesday. “Down came the hand and the blood sprawled out.” Wednesday sung in a monotone manner as she slammed her hand on the spider, disappearing into a dust. Bianca from the back is stifling her laughter. “Wednesday isn’t impressed with your actions huh, Xavier?” Thornhill said after she went into the room once she noticed it. Everyone was out in their business, just listening.

“Wednesday…?” Someone called out to her, unsure of her. The three, Wednesday, Bianca and Xavier turned their head to look who it is. It was Yoko and beside her is…Enid. The dark haired girl furrowed her eyebrows. “Wednesday!” Enid exclaimed, throwing herself onto Wednesday as everyone watched this situation knowing what is going to happened next notwithstanding what happened in the following. The dark haired girl tightly hugged Enid as the blond haired girl cried, sobbing onto the girl’s arms.

Yoko stared at them, confused and nervous. She gave Wednesday an apologetic smile, she got paid by a scowl as it softened again. Enid pulled away. “Oh, my god. It is you. Where’s the smile I always see?” Enid asked, grinning while she wipe her tears. “Girl? She doesn’t smile.” Bianca sassed then gasped when she saw Wednesday smiled to the blue eyed girl. Enid giggled then squished her cheeks then Thing made appearance by jumping on the dark haired girl’s shoulder. “Thing!” The girl squealed, grabbing a hold of the hand.

Everyone was flabbergasted of what’s holding up to the scene. Wednesday, tugged on Enid’s school uniform. “As much as I like this little reunion, we should catch up in my dorm.” Wednesday suggested and they both went to her dorm room, ditching their friends. When the two arrived inside the dorm, Enid just couldn’t control herself but to just hug Wednesday close to her. “You really did everything to find me, huh?” The blond haired girl murmured on the other girl’s neck who breathed in.

“I rely on miracles as I wait for appearance.” Wednesday replied, embracing Enid back to her. The two pulled away with the blue eyed girl’s both hands still resting on the dark haired girl’s shoulders. “Well, we have so much to catch up with each other.” Enid said and of course, they spend their whole night talking and for the first time, this is the longest conversation Wednesday had in her whole life, just after the blond werewolf left her. Enid told her that she cannot wolf out yet and was hoping she could in the future but she has a low chance from it.

The dark eyed girl rest her right hand on Enid’s, squeezing it lightly. “You’ll do it. I know you can.” Wednesday spoke under her breath, staring at the floor not wanting to meet the blonde’s gaze. From her peripheral vision, she can see Enid snickering before getting engulfed by another hug making Wednesday grunt from her weight. She just let her. It’s been a while since they met again.

The Addams girl had discovered the barista from the Weathervane is the Hyde. The one she saw that night, on her first day. She was using him for her research for this monster but turns out, Tyler Galpin is the monster. She discovered it by intimately caressing his cheeks, pretending to have feelings for him however, it still goes downhill. Right now, Wednesday is running through the woods, she needed to go to the Crypt when she stumbled onto Tyler. “What are you doing here, Wednesday?” Tyler asked like he didn’t know why Wednesday was out in the middle of nowhere.

“Why do you want to know?” Wednesday fired back and Tyler scoffed, a little cocky smile tugging on the corner of his lips as he took a step to Wednesday who didn’t cower away or step back. The curly brown haired boy grabbed the girl’s collar. “You do know what’s coming. You really have a death wish.” With that said, Tyler shifted to his Hyde form, grabbing Wednesday by the throat and slammed her on the wood. The Hyde lifted its other hand, seeming to scratch Wednesday down with its claws when another animal tackled Tyler, managing to make him unconscious.

The dark haired girl widened her eyes and took a closer look. The werewolf looked at her and it looks like it was smiling at her.  “Enid…” Wednesday whispered and the blond werewolf shifted back to her human form, all naked. Quickly, Wednesday took off her oversized jacket, giving it to Enid. “I wolfed out!” The blond exclaimed but get back to getting serious since she knows that the War Isn’t Over. “I need to find Thornhill, will you be okay without me?” Wednesday questioned the other girl who smiled, nodding her head.

“I will be.” Enid answered and Wednesday was about to move on now when the girl caught her wrist. “Let’s meet after this. At the gates of Nevermore.” The blonde haired girl desperately added since she can hear the Hyde waking up again. The dark eyed girl glanced at the Hyde before gazing up to Enid. “I swear.” With that, the Hyde attacks the blue eyed girl who had already transformed back to her wolf form. She watched this unfold in front of her but decided to run to the Crypt now. She saw Thornhill there and was caught off guard as she got knocked out.

She opened her eyes slowly and she is now handcuffed from the ceiling. Wednesday had a dripping blood on the side of her head, down to her temple and cheek. Wednesday is the key as Goody Addams did mention and this wasn’t her expectation. The dark haired girl is the key to bringing Joseph Crackstone from the dead. “My vengeance will be swift.” Crackstone said to Thornhill as the ginger haired girl kissed his knuckles. “As will mine.” Wednesday responded monotonously once she free herself from the cuffs. “Well, you won’t. When I vanish you to hell.” Crackstone uttered as he gets his knife and stabbed Wednesday with it before he twists it making the dark eyed girl gasp, blood dripping down her mouth.

The two left her in the Crypt. Wednesday stepped back, her back finding the wall. She slowly slides down and sit. “Fuck…” This is it. She cried numbly, just staring forward as the only thing in her mind is Enid Sinclair. This is where she is going to die. She was holding on for dear life.

Enid, with the help of Yoko, Ajax, Bianca, Eugene and Xavier’s they managed to end this madness by putting Crackstone back to hell. He burned until he turned into dust. The blond haired girl had the Addams girl’s oversized jacket, wearing it.  All of the Nevermore students went to the gates of Nevermore. All of the students were okay except for Principal Weems who died from Nightshade poisoning. Police are already parked and they caught Thornhill with the help of Eugene. It’s been like twenty minutes and Wednesday is nowhere to be found. “Where’s Wednesday?” The blond haired girl asked everyone she can question to.

They answered everything but a single yes or a single nod. “I’m sure she is somewhere here.” Eugene tried to convince Enid but the girl is already panicking. Her eyes enlarged once she remembered something. “She might be still at the Crypt. Come on, guys!” Enid shouted and the five of them followed Enid behind. Xavier and Ajax opened the door, already calling for Wednesday’s name. Bianca and Yoko did help with searching while Eugene search outside the Crypt.

Suddenly, Enid heard Bianca’s gasp which came from the other room. Yoko called out to Eugene and they all went to the same room Bianca is in. All are in shock. The Sinclair girl covered her mouth with both hands, gasping in air in what felt like she can’t breath and like drowning. Tears stung her eyes as it swelled up. “Wednesday!!!” Enid called out, kneeling on Wednesday’s unmoving body. “I’ll call the ambulance in here.” Yoko said, getting out of the room to dial them with Ajax and Xavier.

Enid embraced Wednesday’s body onto her lap. The knife was still on the girl’s left side stomach. Bianca knelt down beside Enid, putting a hand on her back, trying to soothe her down while Eugene just stand there, not believing what is unfolding in front of him. “No, no, no, no, no. NO!” The blue eyed girl repeated those words and she tried to hug Wednesday closer to her while rocking them both back and forth. Tears are now waterfall. Bianca choked on her tears, beginning to sob.

Enid cried and cried, so hard. “No, please. You need to breathe right now, Wednesday. Don’t die on me! You swear on me we will meet again! We’ve only just met each other a few months ago. It’s not enough, Weds. It’s not enough! So please…wake up…” The blond haired girl begged more, now grabbing the dark haired girl’s cheek, caressing it. She was holding on just for tonight. The siren couldn’t take it anymore, she left the area with Eugene, both are now crying.

Enid pushed a messy strand behind Wednesday’s ear. The girl’s was messed up with the blood, there was a handprint on her neck, a knife through her stomach and the girl’s pants were torn up. “I love you, Weds. I need you right now.” Enid whimpered, still caressing the girl’s cheek lovingly as tears fell down from her eyes to Wednesday’s clothes. Soon, the ambulance’s siren was heard outside the structure and Wednesday is taken by the nurses.

The blond haired girl hopped onto the vehicle as well as the vehicle drove to a nearest hospital. She is now holding Wednesday’s hand who’s getting treated from her head wound. Few minutes, they arrived at the hospital. Her other friends are now there, not surprised from it. Enid tried to get into the emergency room as well. “We have to apologize but you needed to stay outside of the room.” One of the nurse said as Enid was stopped by Ajax.

A month has passed since all the of the accident. The Addams family went to visit the hospital once a week since they were quite busy with some things but they always try to make a day off once or twice just to visit their daughter who is in a coma. Xavier, Bianca, Yoko, Eugene and Enid took turns on who will stay or accompany Wednesday and today is Enid’s turn to stay. Right now, she is standing right beside the bed the dark haired girl is sleeping. She has this machineries on her and some other stuffs. Enid was glad Wednesday did make it.

The doctors had reported to them that she lost a lot of blood and estimated it that Wednesday has been like that after twenty five minutes. It was a miracle. “I know sleeping on that bed and you can’t hear me but uhh…you know what? Fuck this. I love you, Wednesday. People must call it puppy love since I have been crushing on you since the first time we met back in our childhood days. I know. Puns. Puppy. Yes, yes, not funny, I know. I just…I can’t handle of losing you after we just meet again.”

“It’s not fair. Please…please, just wake up. Weds, I love you so much.” Enid said, her voice cracking as tears are swelling up her eyes. The hand she is holding, she lifted it up, rest it onto her forehead as she cried quietly, sniffling. Suddenly, the hand she is holding, twitched. “Weds!” The blond brightened up and even became happier when Wednesday opened her eyes slowly as her eyebrows furrowed from the light. Thing who was there in background, swiftly pressed the button to alarm their ward room.

The first thing the Addams noticed is Enid. She widened her eyes then Enid embraced her, practically on her lap. Wednesday grunted and groaned since it hit her wound area. “Oh! Sorry, sorry. Didn’t mean to.” The blue eyed girl apologized, pulling away to stand up now but Wednesday held her there, a little away from her wound area so it won’t be pressed further. “Enid…I heard your voice. Thanks to you, I got out of coma.” Wednesday murmured and this made the blond werewolf blush.

“Y-You heard what I said?” Enid asked and Wednesday confirmed it by nodding stiffly before looking down on her lap. Enid grabbed Wednesday’s cheeks and pressed their lips together. The two delightfully sighed then pulled away. The blond caressed the other girl’s cheeks while Wednesday gripped Enid’s waist. “I love you too, Enid.” With that, the two kissed again, making it a full blow make-out session. I know, kissing after returning to your consciousness. Until someone cleared their throat. The two pulled away quickly from the scare, mostly Enid only to find one of the hospital’s nurse. “It’s time for Ms. Addams’ check-up since she woke up from a coma.” The nurse announced and the two looked at each other, giggled.

Wednesday and Enid just felt content with how they found each other again.
