Chapter 1: Reason

Chapter Text

You are my reason for existing

You are the reason why I’m fighting

I would paint the world in the colour of your eyes

When I hold your hand it is like I hold the skies

You are everything I believe in

You are my every single reason

I would make the whole wide world bow down at your feet

I would make the world echo all of your heartbeats

———

Praise, praise, the child caught in the storm

Praise, praise, the child who is life’s form

———

I would die for you, for everything you are

I would kill for you, you are my north most star

I would set the whole wide world aflame

Every time I hear you call my name

You are magic you are madness you’re untamed

When you step into your power, place your blame

I would die for you, to unmake all your scars

I would kill for you, for everything you are

My most exalted, my true love

———

You are the reason why I’m burning

You are what sets the wheels all turning

I can see your truth written out across the stars

I can see the truth that the empire can’t parse

You are the healer of my sorrow

You’re all I hope for for tomorrow

I can see your soul in all corners of this world

I can see your soul in the holiness they hurled

———

Praise, praise, the glory who will win

Praise, praise, all of our spirits’ kin

My most exalted, my true love ———

You are the universe, the universe is you

And yet you are yourself, uniquely being you

You are the perfect love all holiness flows through

You are the universe, the universe is you

And I would kneel at your feet and fight by your side

You are the hopefulness that fills me up inside

And I would spread your truth to all the whole world wide

And I would kneel at your feet and fight by your side

———

Praise, praise, your spirit without shape

Praise, praise, your soul that can escape

Chapter 2: Into the Sky

Notes:

(See the end of the chapter for notes.)

Chapter Text

You are the people

You raise your fists into the sky

You are the people

Who raise your fists into the sky

The sky is overcast

The sunshine never lasts

The sky is overcast

Your soul is cloudy

———

But hey

I never loved you, loved you, loved you anyways

And if you’re crying by the side of the highway

I’ll leave you there to freeze

But hey,

Herman never played the role you made him play

And if your city on the ashes of us lays

I’ll leave you as you as you please

———

You are the power

Presiding over all the lands

You are the power

Clutching the lands in your hands

The lands are stripped bare

Of all the spirits there

The lands are stripped bare

Your hands are greedy

———

But hey

I never loved you, loved you, loved you anyways

And if you’re crying by the side of the highway

I’ll leave you there to freeze

But hey,

Herman never played the role you made him play

And if your city on the ashes of us lays

I’ll leave you as you as you please

———

You think you’re the only ones

Capable of love and war

You think you’re the only ones

Who you should be fighting for

The poor all over the planet are dying

And your poor sad-sounding voice it is lying

The poor all over, the planet is dying

And you think you have it bad, you are lying

You think you’re the only ones

You think that you can restore

You think you’re the only ones

That you deserve more and more

———

But hey

I never loved you, loved you, loved you anyways

And if you’re crying by the side of the highway

I’ll leave you there to freeze

But hey,

Herman never played the role you made him play

And if your city on the ashes of us lays

I’ll leave you as you as you please

Chapter 3: Old Stories

Notes:

(See the end of the chapter for notes.)

Chapter Text

The king in on his throne

He claims that he owns

Our heartbeats beating

The songs that we’ve sown

The king on his throne

He thinks we hold on

His very breathing

His cold haughty tone

———

You fell but you flew

You lost but you fought

Now I will fight too

Against all they brought

Now I will hear you

Sing through the trees

The love that I grew

Will set us all free

———

You said to us all

His kingdom will fall

And we’ll come rising

All we need is gall

You said to us all

There’s no time to stall

The dawn is singing

Rebellion’s call

———

You fell but you flew

You lost but you fought

Now I will fight too

Against all they brought

Now I will hear you

Sing through the trees

The love that I grew

Will set us all free

———

The king had you killed

His armies, they stilled

The commoner forces

That your hope did build

The king had you killed

Your spirit strong-willed

The priest endorses

The blood that they spilled

———

You fell but you flew

You lost but you fought

Now I will fight too

Against all they brought

Now I will hear you

Sing through the trees

The love that I grew

Will set us all free

———

This was long ago

As I have heard so

But still your story

Continues to flow

This was long ago

But people, they know

Of all your glory

The hope you bestow

———

You fell but you flew

You lost but you fought

Now I will fight too

Against all they brought

Now I will hear you

Sing through the trees

The love that I grew

Will set us all free

———

And so we will win

Us commoner kin

We’ll have our vengeance

Against every sin

And so we will win

Because we’re all kin

The king’s resplendence

We’ll finally skin

———

You fell but you flew

You lost but you fought

Now I will fight too

Against all they brought

Now I will hear you

Sing through the trees

The love that I grew

Will set us all free

Chapter 4: She Still Lives

Notes:

(See the end of the chapter for notes.)

Chapter Text

She wouldn’t’ve wanted a different world they say

She wouldn’t’ve wanted it any other way

When we come together we lose ourselves

When we stay divided we grow

She wouldn’t’ve wanted for you to care so much

She wouldn’t’ve wanted to use you as a crutch

When we come together we break ourselves

When we stay divided we glow

Or so I have heard so

———

This capitalist world that we’re forced to live in

This competitive cut-throat prison

This violent world that we’re forced to live in

This blood-red nightmare risen

———

But I am a warrior at heart

And I will not let them wrest apart

All of us strewn out throughout the lands

All of us who know we all hold hands

All of us united through the lands

All the world together takes a stand

And I am a fighter in my soul

I won’t let them take me and make me unwhole

When we all unite then victory

Will not lead to any tragedy

When we help all ones then victory

Will be for forever finally

———

She wouldn’t’ve wanted to share all that we had

She wouldn’t’ve wanted for you to get so mad

When we are together we hurt ourselves

When we are divided we go

She wouldn’t’ve wanted to be a spirit-thing

She wouldn’t’ve wanted to end all suffering

When we are together we fool ourselves

When we are divided we know

Or so I have heard so

———

This capitalist world that we’re forced to live in

This competitive cut-throat prison

This violent world that we’re forced to live in

This blood-red nightmare risen

———

But I am a warrior at heart

And I will not let them wrest apart

All of us strewn out throughout the lands

All of us who know we all hold hands

All of us united through the lands

All the world together takes a stand

And I am a fighter in my soul

I won’t let them take me and make me unwhole

When we all unite then victory

Will not lead to any tragedy

When we help all ones then victory

Will be for forever finally

———

Her spirit is above and all around us

Her heartbeat beats in us and it astounds us

Her spirit is in all the places where people reside

Her spirit tell us who we are is on the inside

Her longing is in all of our hurting

Her dreams they dream of all people healing

Her longing is in all the places where people reside

Her longing tells us who we are is softly untied

———

This capitalist world that we’re forced to live in

This competitive cut-throat prison

This violent world that we’re forced to live in

This blood-red nightmare risen

———

But I am a warrior at heart

And I will not let them wrest apart

All of us strewn out throughout the lands

All of us who know we all hold hands

All of us united through the lands

All the world together takes a stand

And I am a fighter in my soul

I won’t let them take me and make me unwhole

When we all unite then victory

Will not lead to any tragedy

When we help all ones then victory

Will be for forever finally

Chapter 5: Victoried

Notes:

(See the end of the chapter for notes.)

Chapter Text

Give me the world

In all its bitter glory, dark and gory

Give me the end

In all its liberating, bloodstained story

Give me the freedom

That comes with being nothing being all things

And every atom

Will never cease its flowing life exploding

———

Give me the blood

Give me the darkness I

Give me the breath

Infused with shards of ice

Give me the hate

That scrubs the footsteps off

Give me the bite

That lets the ship take off

———

Give me the start

Of every bloodstained mother biting wrending

Give me a part

Of every photon passing through unending

Give me the honour

That comes with all this planet in its candid

Give me the horror

That comes with all this flowing, red and splendid

———

Give me the blood

Give me the darkness I

Give me the breath

Infused with shards of ice

Give me the hate

That scrubs the footsteps off

Give me the bite

That lets the ship take off

———

I am going to die for this if I must

The essence, the presence, the lust

I am going to live for this if I must

The darkness, the abyss, the trust

I am going to die for this

Then I’m going to live for this

I am going to kill for this if I must

———

Give me the blood

Give me the darkness I

Give me the breath

Infused with shards of ice

Give me the hate

That scrubs the footsteps off

Give me the bite

That lets the ship take off

———

Chapter 6: Spirit

Notes:

(See the end of the chapter for notes.)

Chapter Text

She knows better than to bite

Than to bite the hand that feeds

The hand that feeds her blood

That lets her do her deeds

She knows better than to ask

Than to ask for hallowed love

To be given some respect

By the planes above

———

I don’t see you but I see your spirit

I don’t want you I just want that spirit to be free

I just want your sweet divinity to be

Held up high for all the lands of earth to see

I don’t see you but I see your feelings

All the feelings that you have to hide

All the rebellion you keep inside

I just want to take you to where love abides

———

I’m alive, I’m alive, I’m alive I’m alive and fighting

I’m cornered into a corner and I’m biting

You’re alive, you’re alive, you’re alive, you’re alive and beautiful

You are hero of the story that’s not allowed to be told

We’re running through this town covered in blood

We’re breaking all the dams, bringing the flood

We’re running through this town, covered in blood

Is it ours? Is it not? Do we even care?

Lover, lover, I’ll always be there

———

We are heroes

And she hates us two

We are legends

And she tells all to

Destroy all solidarity

Between all the minorities

Destroy the bonds of suicide

That will finally turn tides

Turn the tides against the rich

Put a crown upon each witch

Turn the tides against the rich

Make the devils of fate lose their stitch

———

These stories that are not allowed to be told

By us

All the ways they are allowed to spit, scold

At us

All the way’s we’re not allowed to be bold

We must

Make the revolution all can behold

Chapter 7: Handsome Boy

Notes:

(See the end of the chapter for notes.)

Chapter Text

Everybody loves you, everybody wants you

Everyone but me ‘cus I see through you

My sister used to tell me at night

About all the ones who fought the good fight

Everybody loves you, everybody needs you

The way you make it look like destiny true

My mother used to tell me at dawn

Of how the world turns on and on

You sparkle like a diamond, you glitter like a sequin the way you shine in the light

But you smile a bit too wide and you stare a bit too deep and something just isn’t right

But if you want to stare I’ll stare back at you

And if you want to dare I will dare you too

Everybody trusts you, everybody holds you

Everyone believes that your heart is true

My life has never been just my own

My love has never been fully known

When you show your power, when you make them cower

When you make them open up like flowers

If I was yours then I would disown

Each and every bond that we have grown

You sparkle like a diamond, you glitter like a sequin the way you shine in the light

But you smile a bit too wide and you stare a bit too deep and something just isn’t right

But if you want to stare I’ll stare back at you

And if you want to dare I will dare you too

And I won’t fight you

I won’t argue

I’ll just dance under the full moon

I won’t help you

Or care for you

I’ll just bring the fire monsoon

And I won’t fight you

I won’t argue

I won’t break me into pieces

I won’t help you

Or care for you

I’ll just let them do what pleases

You sparkle like a diamond, you glitter like a sequin the way you shine in the light

But you smile a bit too wide and you stare a bit too deep and something just isn’t right

But if you want to stare I’ll stare back at you

And if you want to dare I will dare you too

There are secrets we’ll never know

All throughout the stars’ soft glow

There are stories we cannot taste,

On the finely-clothed, they’re a waste

Chapter 8: Obsession

Notes:

(See the end of the chapter for notes.)

Chapter Text

You’re a beacon, you’re a symbol

Blood on your hands, blood on your teeth

I would end the whole world for you

Thinking of you, unendingly

And maybe I’m obsessed

Maybe I’m a heretic

Maybe I’m dead wrong

Maybe I’m a fanatic

But what I am is not what I was meant to be

We have to help each other if we want to be free

———

So be our anarchy

And be our litany

Be our curse

And be each verse

Be our liberty

And be equality

Be all of us

Together

Be the soaring wing’s feather

Be the rolling hills’ heather

Be eternity

———

You’re an anthem, you’re a hymnal

Hate in your eyes they’ll never see

You’re a hero, you’re a child

And you’ve consumed all I could be

And maybe I’m a mess

But your word is prophetic

Maybe I’m not strong

Maybe they’re just pathetic

But what you are is not what they will ever see

As they commend each other but we know it truly

———

So be our anarchy

And be our litany

Be our curse

And be each verse

Be our liberty

And be equality

Be all of us

Together

Be the soaring wing’s feather

Be the rolling hills’ heather

Be eternity

———

Every day every night I’m setting myself and the world aflame

In frantic creative destruction they cannot tame

Every day every night I’m setting myself and the and the world aflame

For magic that it is in every time that I hear your name

Every night every day I am doing the things that cannot be done

In frantic creative destruction that’s from the One

Every night every day I am doing the things that cannot be done

For the hope that one day you’ll tell us all that you’ve won

———-

So be our anarchy

And be our litany

Be our curse

And be each verse

Be our liberty

And be equality

Be all of us

Together

Be the soaring wing’s feather

Be the rolling hills’ heather

Be eternity

———

I’d bleed anything to tell you the infinity you are

Chapter 9: Hate Story that’s a Love Story

Notes:

(See the end of the chapter for notes.)

Chapter Text

I don’t want the peace, love, and unicorns

I just want the desperate to be less worn

I don’t want the days that don’t ever end

I don’t want your insincere and forced help, friend

———

I just want death to pour from the skies

By that I mean I want it to pour

From the love in your eyes

I just wanna hear their victory cries

And by that I mean I want to restore

The hope behind the lies

———

Be terrifying

Be insanity

Be forbidden

Be inhumanity

Cut the oxygen out of my brain

Be the antidote for all this pain

———

I don’t want forgiveness I don’t want soft

I want to burn the whole world, hold hate aloft

Wild plants can grow from life-giving ash

Where the thunderstorm and the sacred love clash

———

I just want death to pour from the skies

By that I mean I want it to pour

From the love in your eyes

I just wanna hear their victory cries

And by that I mean I want to restore

The hope behind the lies

———

Be terrifying

Be insanity

Be forbidden

Be inhumanity

Cut the oxygen out of my brain

Be the antidote for all this pain

———

I’ve read books where star-crossed lovers take their lives

I’ve read books where children forge their own hard knives

I’ve read books where they burn the witch

I’ve read books where they eat the rich

I’ve read books where star-crossed lovers take their lives

———

I just want death to pour from the skies

By that I mean I want it to pour

From the love in your eyes

I just wanna hear their victory cries

And by that I mean I want to restore

The hope behind the lies

———

Be terrifying

Be insanity

Be forbidden

Be inhumanity

Cut the oxygen out of my brain

Be the antidote for all this pain

Strip the capillaries from this cage

Make the fire bloom from my dark rage

Chapter 10: Running Towards

Notes:

(See the end of the chapter for notes.)

Chapter Text

I want you to keep teaching things they’ve forbidden

I can’t help but hate the love I’ve been given

I know you want me in your home

But my heart it just has to roam

But I still wanna learn the secrets they’ve hidden

———

I know there is something, made from joy and from pain

I know that that something is full of hate and the rain

I know it is made of love, made from justice, beneath, above

I know there is something, made from joy and from pain

———

I want you to keep teaching things they’ve forbidden

I can’t help but hate the love I’ve been given

I know you want me in your home

But my heart it just has to roam

But I still wanna learn the secrets they’ve hidden

———

I know there is something, that flows through both of our hearts

And even if it kills me, I’ll bring to life all our parts

I know it is full of life, full of justice, within all strife

I know there is something, that flows through both of our hearts

———

I want you to keep teaching things they’ve forbidden

I can’t help but hate the love I’ve been given

I know you want me in your home

But my heart it just has to roam

But I still wanna learn the secrets they’ve hidden

———

They love individualism

They love power, their constitution

They love hiding the blood they’ve spilled

I love seeing the monarchs killed

They love blaming the heartbroken

They love all of the hate they’ve spoken

They love keeping our heads bowed

They can hurt me, I won’t be cowed

They can fill my lungs with blood

They can rain down a fire flood

But I’ll respond with a hundred times more force

More brutality, more infinity, more coarse

I’ll respond with a hundred times more force

More brutality, more infinity, more coarse

———

I want you to keep teaching things they’ve forbidden

I can’t help but hate the love I’ve been given

I know you want me in your home

But my heart it just has to roam

But I still wanna learn the secrets they’ve hidden

———

I will find that something, hiding somewhere away

I will keep the secret, away from the light of day

I will make the whole world change, make it love, unrestrained

I will find that something, hiding somewhere away

All the children will be with their family
All the sacred love will have serenity

Chapter 12: Undead City

Notes:

(See the end of the chapter for notes.)

Chapter Text

This is the moment the train goes off the rails

I am not happy to make you happy I’d rather see you fail

This is the picture that all of us are in

You see smiling you see me happy you don’t see what’s within

Every thing is fine and fun and still

So kill me slowly, kill me softly, closely guard the pills

I am going to end all of this today

So call me useless and call me evil I’m still going away

———

We are the undead city

The war starts with me

I am the common peasant

That chops the head off the king

You think your identity

Lies in your gold jewelry

I’d rather wear no clothes than

Be your princess, darling

We are the undead rising

———

And every moment your system give us nought

So wouldn’t it be more selfish of us to make your system rot

I’m never going to stop freeing all the slaves

The power you have always denied us is the power She gave

The universe it always gets all I’ve got

And if you love another person then you see the face of God

Everybody is equal when they are dead

So I am going to keep on singing until we all have bread

———

We are the undead city

The war starts with me

I am the common peasant

That chops the head off the king

You think your identity

Lies in your gold jewelry

I’d rather wear no clothes than

Be your princess, darling

We are the undead rising

———

I realize now looking at the beauty of the hunger

I’d rather die warrior’s death than live in the tower

Some day I swear I will find my way down

Some day I swear we’ll devour each crown

I realize now looking at this secret magic sect

The sister’s eyes and brother’s mouth unveiled the truth perfect

It’s not about the characters

It’s not about the leitmotifs

It’s all about Love’s worshippers

And the courage of the thief

———

We are the undead city

The war starts with me

I am the common peasant

That chops the head off the king

You think your identity

Lies in your gold jewelry

I’d rather wear no clothes than

Be your princess, darling

We are the undead rising

———

Golden child. Lion boy. Tell me what it’s like to conquer.
Fearless child. Broken boy. Tell me what it’s like to burn.

Chapter 13: Battle Cry Heart

Notes:

(See the end of the chapter for notes.)

Chapter Text

There's love, there's war, there retribution

Love is war is retribution

Bring them down, oh make them see

Make them see our pain truly

There's bosses, cops, and premonitions

They're scared and getting premonitions

Kill your boss and then come home

Come home so you won't be alone

-------

And above us there are skies

And below us there is earth

And we can hurt and die

Still our lives have worth

------

I’d have ripped off my nails for you

I would have gone to jail for you

But then I realized I don’t want a love story

I want a battle cry, I want blood-red, dark glory

I want a reckoning, a judgement day for the whole world

I want a future where the tables, they all have been twirled

-------

They say that we are made of danger

But the truth of life is stranger

Battle all the praised high kings

That view us as only things

They say that we cannot hold power

We will raze down their high tower

Strike the crown prince in the heart

So his death can birth new starts

-------

And within us there are seas

And within us there is flame

And one day we won't say please

When we people place our blame

-------

I’d have ripped off my nails for you

I would have gone to jail for you

But then I realized I don’t want a love story

I want a battle cry, I want blood-red, dark glory

I want a reckoning, a judgement day for the whole world

I want a future where the tables, they all have been twirled

-------

There's hope that comes with violence

There's the hope inside the silence

There's the hope that comes with hate

And all our hunger it will sate

There's love that comes with the pain

There's the love just pain can explain

There's the pain that comes with love

That brings down rain from skies above

-------

Love is not soft or yielding

Love is death-encompassing

Wildflowers and sunsets bleed

Love as rage will plant the seed

------

I’d have ripped off my nails for you

I would have gone to jail for you

But then I realized I don’t want a love story

I want a battle cry, I want blood-red, dark glory

I want a reckoning, a judgement day for the whole world

I want a future where the tables, they all have been twirled

------

Kill your boss and then come home

The trees are all cheering you on

Chapter 14: His Stories

Notes:

(See the end of the chapter for notes.)

Chapter Text

Glory be, glory be they cry

To the ones that make the tales on high

That make the tales on high that deepen lines

That deepen lines society defines

Glory be, glory be to chains

To chains that hold the water and the rains

The water and the rains and the fire

The elements that make up the liar

———

The future in all its glory

Will bring a brand new story

The future in all its glory

Will succeed this day hoary

———

The stories that have been told

The glories they say unfold

So gory, so full of hurt

They teach us to be meek and curt

The stories that I will burn

So the held down have their turn

The ice, fire, hot and cold

The future will be unrolled

———

Glory be, glory be we cry

To the people unknown, those who try

Those who try to give us what we need

To give us what we need, against his greed

Glory be, glory be to love

To love from earth below and skies above

The earth below and skies above will turn

Will turn each day and make his mindset burn

———

The heartbeat in all her glory

Beats despite this world gory

The heartbeat in all her glory

For all of us does worry

———

The stories that have been told

The glories they say unfold

So gory, so full of hurt

They teach us to be meek and curt

The stories that I will burn

So the held down have their turn

The ice, fire, hot and cold

The future will be unrolled

———

The world always changes, and pain always turns

Pain always rains down to make systems burn

The world always changes and love always yearns

Love always yearns to make new people learn

And even if we do not yet win the fight

One day the future will make all things right

Even if we do not yet place the blame

One day equality we will proclaim

———

The hurting in all their glory

Who know how to hide their story

The hurting in all their glory

Make his reign transitory

———

The stories that have been told

The glories they say unfold

So gory, so full of hurt

They teach us to be meek and curt

The stories that I will burn

So the held down have their turn

The ice, fire, hot and cold

The future will be unrolled

Chapter 15: Every Second

Notes:

(See the end of the chapter for notes.)

Chapter Text

Look at us, look at us, the death within our eyes

Look at us, look at us, look past all your lies

Look at you, look at you, look at all your pride

Look at you, look at you, all the hate you hide

It hurts, it hurts, it hurts so much

The type of hurt you’ll never touch

It hurts, it hurts, it hurts so much

But one day you will fear our touch

———
Every second a demon gets their fangs

Every second the Wall gets a crack

Every time we go out, it’s with a bang

We’ll create a new world where no-one lacks

On one bright day the system will be burned

On one bright day the gods will be cast down

On that day all your lies will be unlearned

On that day every child will wear a crown

———
In our lives, in our lives, there’s pain and there is need

In your lives, in your lives, there’s pretty things and greed

In our lives, in our lives, there’s rage that we gulp down

In your lives, in your lives, you think you own the crown

It’s grief, it’s grief, it’s so much grief

The type of grief you won’t believe

It’s grief, it’s grief, it’s so much grief

But we’ll make all your comfort leave

———
Every time you kill us we become free

Every time you look away, live your life

Every day you consume goods endlessly

Your apathy will bring you such great strife

Every baby, child, youth and each adult

We rise back up with fangs and horns and claws

Every time you worship your richness cult

We gain more power to wipe out your laws

———
Tick, tick, tick, the clock is counting

Tick, tick, tick, but you don’t hear it

Tick, tick, tick, the clock is countingspilled down

Chapter 16: Chain-Blind

Notes:

(See the end of the chapter for notes.)

Chapter Text

God’s chosen, the gods’ chosen

There’s no difference

Gods are cruel, and men are cruel

We hurt in silence

———
Rip me away from the snow-full mountains

Rip me away from the valley

Rip my away from the arctic fox dens

Chain me inside of the city

———
You hope for, and you pray for

Blood-soaked vengeance

What you’re wishing, what you’re believing

It has no substance

———
Rip me away from the snow-full mountains

Rip me away from the valley

Rip my away from the arctic fox dens

Chain me inside of the city

———
Every bound, every dying

Has importance

Every learning, and every growing

Our soul’s transcendence

———
Rip me away from the snow-full mountains

Rip me away from the valley

Rip my away from the arctic fox dens

Chain me inside of the city

———
Your story, a loud story

Rose-tinted lens

It’s worse than death, you think you want it

Blind to what happens

———
Rip me away from the snow-full mountains

Rip me away from the valley

Rip my away from the arctic fox dens

Chain me inside of the city

———
You don’t see, you don’t see me

Disappearance

I hoped you’d heal that deep injury

That’s in your essence

———
Rip me away from the snow-full mountains

Rip me away from the valley

Rip my away from the arctic fox dens

Chain me inside of the city

———
Golden child, lion boy, tell me what it’s like to conquer

Fearless child, broken boy, tell me what it’s like to burn

Chapter 17: To Victory

Notes:

(See the end of the chapter for notes.)

Chapter Text

Herman I pray, may your reckoning bloom

Bard of lost myth may your battle song loom

May all of the bourgeoisie

Burn to death in agony

Herman I pray, may your reckoning bloom

———

I want to scream into the stormy weather

In every language that’s graced this world, ever

I want to scream may the fire-flood come

Burn-drown the comfortable, exploiter scum

———

Herman, your truth can’t be said but is known

In all the children who will not be grown

May all of the comfortable

Lose their comfort, lose it all

Herman, your truth can’t be said but is known

———

I want to scream into the stormy weather

In every language that’s graced this world, ever

I want to scream may the fire-flood come

Burn-drown the comfortable, exploiter scum

———

Bard of the war

Bard of the glory

Bard of the gods

That tell the story

Bard of the rage

Bard of secrecy

I still remember

Your first history

———

I want to scream into the stormy weather

In every language that’s graced this world, ever

I want to scream may the fire-flood come

Burn-drown the comfortable, exploiter scum

Chapter 18: Will-O’-Wisp

Notes:

(See the end of the chapter for notes.)

Chapter Text

I tread through the Forest deep

The creatures in it do not sleep

I tread through the Forest deep

The ancient ghosts they wail and weep

Suddenly I see you there

Your searching eyes and beauty rare

Suddenly I see you there

You’re softly floating in the air

———
Willow, Willow, Will-o’-wisp

In the nighttime air so crisp

Be the eerie luring glow

That guides me to the bog so slow

Willow, Willow, beautiful

For your eyes I’d risk it all

Bewitchedly I would go

To all you seek and all you know

———

I know I go to my doom

I’ve seen the milk-white blossoms bloom

I know I go to my doom

But for tonight I’ll be your groom

For your form is poetry

As you weave deftly through the trees

For your form is poetry

In all your solemn artistry

———

Willow, Willow, Will-o’-wisp

In the nighttime air so crisp

Be the eerie luring glow

That guides me to the bog so slow

Willow, Willow, beautiful

For your eyes I’d risk it all

Bewitchedly I would go

To all you seek and all you know

———

Am I foolish? Am I brave?

I do not know but this I crave

Am I foolish? Am I brave?

For your love, I’d go to my grave

Even if I cease to be

For tonight I am set free

Even if I cease to be

That’s worth ethereal beauty

———

Willow, Willow, Will-o’-wisp

In the nighttime air so crisp

Be the eerie luring glow

That guides me to the bog so slow

Willow, Willow, beautiful

For your eyes I’d risk it all

Bewitchedly I would go

To all you seek and all you know

———

As I fade I see your smile

And that makes all of this worthwhile

As I fade I see your smile

Will-o’-wisp I love all your guile

Your eyes shine in harsh bloodlust

And as I fade I still have trust

Your eyes shine in harsh bloodlust

Though what you do is what you must

———

Willow, Willow, Will-o’-wisp

In the nighttime air so crisp

Be the eerie luring glow

That guides me to the bog so slow

Willow, Willow, beautiful

For your eyes I’d risk it all

Bewitchedly I would go

To all you seek and all you know

Chapter 19: I’m a Person

Notes:

(See the end of the chapter for notes.)

Chapter Text

Why is it such a surprise to you

That I bleed just as much as you do?

Why is it such a surprise to you

That I ponder?

Why is it so very strange to you

That I feel love that is good and true?

Why is it so very strange to you

That I wonder?

———

Why do I have to prove

Prove that I’m alive?

Why do I have to prove

I’m a person?

Why do you disapprove

Of what makes me thrive?

Why do you disapprove

Of my version?

———

Why must I hide everything I feel?

Why must I hide the fact that I’m real?

Why must I hide everything I feel?

All my longing

Why do you you think you’re so different from

All of the people who live on crumbs?

Why do you think you’re so different from

Those you’re wronging?
———

Why do I have to prove

Prove that I’m alive?

Why do I have to prove

I’m a person?

Why do you disapprove

Of what makes me thrive?

Why do you disapprove

Of my version?

———

Love and flame and rage and hate and fear and hope and solidarity

All of this and so much more and every moment that you never see

You think I am yours to mold, to hold, to scold, a thing that can be sold

I am rage and I am love I am eternal and my soul is bold

———

Why do I have to prove

Prove that I’m alive?

Why do I have to prove

I’m a person?

Why do you disapprove

Of what makes me thrive?

Why do you disapprove

Of my version?

Chapter 20: What Do I Do?

Notes:

(See the end of the chapter for notes.)

Chapter Text

I never asked you to claw your skin off and leave behind all the gods that you love

So why do you ask that of me?

I never asked you to keep on living when all around you the world is dying

So why do want that from me?

I never asked you to give up yourself

I never asked you to change all you are

So why do I have to not be myself

Why can’t I do what the gods made me for?

———

I follow gods of intangibility

I follow gods of full equality

The kind of equality that can’t be denied

The kind of love that all can know, none can hide

I follow gods who the rich see as fools

I follow gods who tell us we’re not tools

I follow gods who love unconditionally

Who say all of us do deserve to be

Given life, love, and given dignity

All of us part of one full family

———

I never asked you to claw your skin off and leave behind all the gods that you love

So why do you ask that of me?

I never asked you to keep on living when all around you the world is dying

So why do want that from me?

I never asked you to give up yourself

I never asked you to change all you are

So why do I have to not be myself

Why can’t I do what the gods made me for?

———

May the dawn always rise so bloody

May my blood flow to this earth freely

May my torch-light heartbeat show me

May I learn to not be so cowardly

I follow gods of constant teaching

I follow gods that help me be growing

I follow gods that bring justice to us

I follow gods that I don’t fully understand

May the fire consume my body

May my blood flow set my soul free

May I fight for true full equality

May I fight for all love that must be

———

I never asked you to claw your skin off and leave behind all the gods that you love

So why do you ask that of me?

I never asked you to keep on living when all around you the world is dying

So why do want that from me?

I never asked you to give up yourself

I never asked you to change all you are

So why do I have to not be myself

Why can’t I do what the gods made me for?

———

Love is infinite, love is one

Love it pulls me right into the sun

Love transforms me in every way

I will fight for a brand new day

May the love transform all of you as well

May the forces of greed go to hell

May we learn how to fight for each other

As siblings, as sisters and as brothers

We are all siblings, sisters and brothers

———

I never asked you to claw your skin off and leave behind all the gods that you love

So why do you ask that of me?

I never asked you to keep on living when all around you the world is dying

So why do want that from me?

I never asked you to give up yourself

I never asked you to change all you are

So why do I have to not be myself

Why can’t I do what the gods made me for?

———

May I follow the heart I so love

May the flood rain down from up above

May these words of mine find a true home

Where forever the great beasts will roam

The beasts and birds and the fish and the plants

The rivers, oceans, lakes, skies and the lands

May it all be safe, may it be saved

May none of us be treated as slaves

———

I never asked you to claw your skin off and leave behind all the gods that you love

So why do you ask that of me?

I never asked you to keep on living when all around you the world is dying

So why do want that from me?

I never asked you to give up yourself

I never asked you to change all you are

So why do I have to not be myself

Why can’t I do what the gods made me for?

———

Thank you Forest for all that you taught me

Thank you river, and the sky so starry

Thank you mountains, and marsh lands and prairies

Thank you Parent Earth, I feel your heartbeat

Thank you land below, thank you sky up above

Thank your worms in soil, the soil that I love

Thank you insects, and spiders and trees

Thank you centipedes, and thank you bees

Thank you mushrooms, and lichen and conks

Thank you beavers, and bears, deer and frogs

Thank you snakes, foxes and coyotes

Thank you starfish, and walrus, and the seas

Thank you bison, for you all may I care

Thank you heat and cold, always you’re there

Thank you sky above, clouds, moon and sun

Thank you rain storm, and snow storm and love

Thank you seasons that turn like a wheel

Thank you day and night for letting me feel

Thank you sunset, thank you sunrise

I would give all to help all of you rise

I will fight I swear it so true

I’ll fight for all of us, for each of you

Transform me into what you need

May all the earth and the people be freed

———

I never asked you to claw your skin off and leave behind all the gods that you love

So why do you ask that of me?

I never asked you to keep on living when all around you the world is dying

So why do want that from me?

I never asked you to give up yourself

I never asked you to change all you are

So why do I have to not be myself

Why can’t I do what the gods made me for?

———

I am becoming, but I am not yet

During life, and after life, may I give my breath

May I give my breath and my blood and my bread

To all the people and all the nature that form the Godhead

Seeking full equality
———
True transformation
The heartbeat of the land
Dauntless retribution
The waters in your hand

I know love will set us free
Seeking full equality
———

Never let them take it

Chapter 22: Morbid Symptoms

Notes:

(See the end of the chapter for notes.)

Chapter Text

This is when morbid symptoms rise

The phoenix it will burn the skies

This is when we all fall to ground

Unstable peace turns upside down

This is when the day and the night

Separate after the fight

Our song will culminate

Into the deepest, brightest hate
———

Look up and see the light

Look down and see the dust

Look up and reunite

With hate and fear and lust

Look up and see the plan

To bring the future forth

And do all that you can

To feed the Global North

———

And I’m alive

Da da da duh

I will survive

Da da da duh

Look in my eyes

Da da da duh

And realize

Da da da duh

———

This is the time that new powers

Consume the colour from flowers

This is the time the rich grow rich

And the poor are turned to pitch

This is the time soldiers of day

Pull the screaming child away

This is the time the children learn

To hide the love for which they yearn

———

Look up and see the light

Look down and see the dust

Look up and reunite

With hate and fear and lust

Look up and see the plan

To bring the future forth

And do all that you can

To feed the Global North

———

And I’m alive

Da da da duh

I will survive

Da da da duh

Look in my eyes

Da da da duh

And realize

Da da da duh

———

May the war come

May the war come

May the war come

May the war come

Make the war come

Make the war come

Make the war come

Make the war come

———

Look up and see the light

Look down and see the dust

Look up and reunite

With hate and fear and lust

Look up and see the plan

To bring the future forth

And do all that you can

To feed the Global North

———

And I’m alive

Da da da duh

I will survive

Da da da duh

Look in my eyes

Da da da duh

And realize

Da da da duh

Chapter 23: Carpenter’s Wife

Notes:

I’m not even Christian at all lol I’m pagan and Muslim I just really like Liberation Theology.

(See the end of the chapter for more notes.)

Chapter Text

The widow had but only two cents

And all that she had was all that she spent

She gave all she had, such a great feat

The thousands the rich gave could not compete

———

The Virgin Mary was a carpenter’s wife

Her life was loaded with need and with strife

She was no lady of noble birth

And yet she is Queen of heaven and earth

———

And when the Son was crucified dead

He died as slaves do, as slaves do he bled

A colonized boy, he was no king

And for that reason, of him I will sing

———

The Virgin Mary was a carpenter’s wife

Her life was loaded with need and with strife

She was no lady of noble birth

And yet she is Queen of heaven and earth

———

I hungered so and you gave me food

I thirsted and you gave me a drink too

I was a stranger and you welcomed me

I was naked and you gave clothes to me

———

The Virgin Mary was a carpenter’s wife

Her life was loaded with need and with strife

She was no lady of noble birth

And yet she is Queen of heaven and earth

Chapter 24: Devotion

Notes:

(See the end of the chapter for notes.)

Chapter Text

Offering, offering

I’m on my knees and offering

This is not an act of solidarity

Offering, offering

The life I live I’m offering

This is just and act of a seeking devotee

———

Hail you ineffable soul

Your spirit inexpressible

Is woven through all of life love and wildness

Hail you please teach and guide

Please teach me what lies inside

What’s woven through all of justice and kindness

———

Offering, offering

I’m on my knees and offering

This is not an act of solidarity

Offering, offering

The life I live I’m offering

This is just and act of a seeking devotee

———

Thus may I experience

The meaning of true reverence

May all of what I live be for your glory

Thus may I face the harm

May winter not find me warm

May all I see be the secret great story

———

Offering, offering

I’m on my knees and offering

This is not an act of solidarity

Offering, offering

The life I live I’m offering

This is just and act of a seeking devotee

———

When I am in front of you I’m on my knees

Each time you breathe it’s like the wind through the trees

Words you say wash over me like the rainstorm

They all seep into me and make me transform

When you transform me I am reborn anew

I look to the sky I’m amazed by your blue

I see you in all of this world that is sacred

You spark the love I have and spark my hatred

You form all the glory that I hope to find

May you inspire all the thoughts in my mind

May you inspire the struggles I go through

May I never seek something that is not you

———

Offering, offering

I’m on my knees and offering

This is not an act of solidarity

Offering, offering

The life I live I’m offering

This is just and act of a seeking devotee

Chapter 25: Angler Fish

Notes:

(See the end of the chapter for notes.)

Chapter Text

You don’t know

And they lie to you

You don’t see

And you don’t want to

You don’t know the sins or that we don’t repent

You don’t care

About the twilight’s blue

———

Hate can be returned with hate

And we can defy our fate

Hate must be returned with hate

All my rage you can’t abate

———

For yourself

You would do so much

For the poor

You would not let touch

You won’t let them touch anything that you have

You don’t need

Your pitied crutch

———

Hate can be returned with hate

And we can defy our fate

Hate must be returned with hate

All my rage you can’t abate

———

May the wind

Howl with portents

May the sky

Not let all repent

May the earth so deep open and swallow whole

You and me

And all our parents

———

Hate can be returned with hate

And we can defy our fate

Hate must be returned with hate

All my rage you can’t abate

———

I pretend to love

Because I must lure in

May the Mother make us

Into beast demons

I pretend to light

Like the angler fish

May the mother give Her

All that She does wish

———

Hate can be returned with hate

And we can defy our fate

Hate must be returned with hate

All my rage you can’t abate

Chapter 26: What’s In The Dark?

Notes:

(See the end of the chapter for notes.)

Chapter Text

Are you afraid of the dark?
Are you afraid of the dark?
Are you afraid of what’s in the dark?
The monsters will leave their mark
The workers will leave their mark
The servants will leave their blood-soaked mark
———
Does your God look away as people die?
Does your God look away as children cry?
Does your God look away as a mother leaves her child?
Does your God look away when spirits die?
———
Know the piercing stab of hunger haunts
Know the gruelling grind of toil taunts
Know the gods hurt with us and they feel all that we feel
Know the aching rage of hope still wants
———
Are you afraid of the dark?
Are you afraid of the dark?
Are you afraid of what’s in the dark?
The monsters will leave their mark
The workers will leave their mark
The servants will leave their blood-soaked mark
———
Does our desperate struggle make you fear?
Does our desperate striving make you sneer?
Does our love and our fear make you feel so mighty tall?
Does the terror we feel make you feel fear?
———
You think you should rule this world so wide
You think that the deep dark will subside
You think we should be grateful that you let us exist
You think all of us you can divide
———
Are you afraid of the dark?
Are you afraid of the dark?
Are you afraid of what’s in the dark?
The monsters will leave their mark.
The workers will leave their mark.
The servants will leave their blood-soaked mark.
———
When we live, when we love, when we hurt, when we bleed
It just makes your downfall guaranteed
Every time that you take our hands and our tongues
It just puts more ash inside your lungs
When we die we just rise and we gain more power
We are dark and dread, you should cower
If you turn up your nose and you make your door close
As you sleep we’ll seep through the shadows
———
Are you afraid of the dark?
Are you afraid of the dark?
Are you afraid of what’s in the dark?
The monsters will leave their mark
The workers will leave their mark
The servants will leave their blood-soaked mark

The fire the ice

The horror the price

The power They hold

The magic untold

The fire the ice

Is in every slice

Of our cut up hearts

The end is the start

———

The cycle the circle it goes on and on

You never escape it it eats every spawn

The world never changes the tables don’t turn

But you can bleed you can die you can burn

———

The lightning, the cold

The winter so bold

The way that he scolds

The hatred you mold

The lightning, the cold

Secret truth unfolds

All that we are told

The hunger that holds

———

The generations they just go on and on

The way that the truth is ground up every dawn

The world always shudders and shakes as it yearns

But you can bleed you can die you can burn

———

The fire the ice

Your death is the price

That can set us free

So what will you be?

The fire the ice

The magic’s advice

The hate that is love

And the hate from above

———

The secret hunger it just goes on and on

The way that our hearts always know what we want

The world always feels our joy and our pain

But your blood and your life will bring new rain

Chapter 28: Righteous Joy

Notes:

(See the end of the chapter for notes.)

Chapter Text

Sir, I am not your toy

I've seen this righteous joy

I've seen this massive death

Inhaled the poison breath

Sir I am not your tool

You're the one who's a fool

I've worked the poison mines

While you wore suits so fine

Sir I am not your friend

I've nothing to amend

I will not toil for you

Don't tell me what to do

Sir I am not your love

You let my brother starve

You let my people die

Tell yourself you can lie

------

You're not the bleeding child

You're not the soul that's lost

You're not the untamed wild

We're not the car's exhaust

------

Devastation, desolation

Desecration, exploitation

Inequality sold as liberty

Desperate poverty sparks monstrosity

Gnaw those higher, light the fire

Pain makes liars, we conspire

Physicality's exclusivity

Come together for our true liberty

-------

Sir you are ignorant

All the cash that you've spent

Will be the rope with which

We'll hang your body, bitch

Sir you have got no clue

How the masses love true

You don't know how we bleed

You with your selfish creed

Sir yet you think you know

And that power must flow

Straight to your fattened hands

You cannot feel these lands

Life Force is not a man

She is the Loving Plan

She shields the poor and hurt

Who must be meek and curt

-------

You're not the wise old crone

You're not reduced to ash

You're not here all alone

We're not the dirty trash

------

Devastation, desolation

Desecration, exploitation

Inequality sold as liberty

Desperate poverty sparks monstrosity

Gnaw those higher, light the fire

Pain makes liars, we conspire

Physicality's exclusivity

Come together for our true liberty

------

Whereas recognition of the inherent dignity and of the equal and inalienable rights of all members of the human family is the foundation of freedom, justice and peace in the world.

Rather than treating nature as property under the law, rights of nature acknowledges that nature in all its life forms has the right to exist, persist, maintain and regenerate its vital cycles.

------

Devastation, desolation

Desecration, exploitation

Inequality sold as liberty

Desperate poverty sparks monstrosity

Gnaw those higher, light the fire

Pain makes liars, we conspire

Physicality's exclusivity

Come together for our true liberty

Chapter 29: Love like a Weapon

Notes:

(See the end of the chapter for notes.)

Chapter Text

Steady, steady, holding steady

Steady, steady, hold it steady

If the king says you're not worthy

I'm still going to hold you steady

———

Drowning, downing, I'm still drowning

All around these streets are burning

If the boss says we're just clowning

I'm still going to face this drowning

———

Fire, fire, scorching fire

Burning bodies on the pyre

If the king thinks he is higher

I will still burn in this fire

———

Grateful, grateful, don’t be grateful

We want love not just survival

If the boss thinks he’s merciful

It’s not going to make us grateful

———

Judgement, judgement, final judgement

For all those who made us servants

If they find out rights repugnant

Don’t show mercy in your judgement

Chapter 30: Free Us

Notes:

(See the end of the chapter for notes.)

Chapter Text

I can't fix this gluttonous system

I can't heal this festering problem

But I can still burn it down

But I can still take their crown

I can't solve this using nonviolence

I can't make them better with silence

But I can still light the flame

I can give you back your name

------

I will heal you

I will teach you all I know

I will guard you

I’ll give you my hope

I will free you

Love

I will free you

And us

-------

When I was a powerless orphan

People sang to me in the morning

That I must seek which is lost

That I must fight at all cost

We can be an army of rebels

We can be victorious devils

I will feel no sympathy

All their pain will nurture me

------

I will heal you

I will teach you all I know

I will guard you

I’ll give you my hope

I will free you

Love

I will free you

And us

------

Mother Earth

Father Time

Rage and Love

Hope Sublime

Flame and Heat

Poetry

Bring to Us

Prophecy

------

I will heal you

I will teach you all I know

I will guard you

I’ll give you my hope

I will free you

Love

I will free you

And us

Chapter 31: Mercury

Notes:

(See the end of the chapter for notes.)

Chapter Text

May the sky turn into mercury
May the clouds rain drops of flame
All the ones who think we’re things and tools
May they finally feel our pain
May the earth turn into smoking coals
May the seas turn into blood
All the ones who take us from our homes
May they choke in poison floods
———
Kill them all please kill them all
I pray to You please make them fall
Turn their bones all into stone
For all they hide, seek, and condone
———
May they finally know what they are
May they hear the truth and see
In the living forest deep and dark
May we pick sweet ripe berries
They ripped their hearts out from their chests
Replaced them with pure greed
They seek to sit on thrones of gods
Control us with our need
———
Kill them all please kill them all
I pray to You please make them fall
Turn their bones all into stone
For all they hide, seek, and condone
———
God please take us from this life
Please give us something more
Where we can be people with full rights
Please ignite the final war
I can’t take this destiny
I can’t take it anymore
I’m just really tired out
From all this quiet force
———
Kill them all please kill them all
I pray to You please make them fall
Turn their bones all into stone
For all they hide, seek, and condone
———
Pain and need and hurt and bleed
And work and work and work
I can’t do this anymore
Please get everybody out of here

Chapter 32: Believing

Notes:

(See the end of the chapter for notes.)

Chapter Text

You don’t believe, of course you don’t
But you can’t force me to go on
I will persist at telling our story
The truth that beats within your mythology
You won’t hear me, of course you won’t
But in the depths the death lives on
I’ll use my blood to paint this graffiti
A secret life beyond your biology
———
I will remember I will remember
No matter how much it makes me bleed
I’ll nourish the embers, nourish the embers
Until my gods are truly freed
I will keep loving I will keep hating
I will keep knowing and keep on believing
Until the truth is known by all
Until my gods can stand up tall
It’s a penance, not a quest
Until this curse-struck world is blessed
———
I can’t explain, of course I can’t
But you cannot stop my attempt
I’ll scream until the brightness consumes me
I’ll hold to faith of reaching equality
I’m only one, a single ant
And you’re a desert full of sand
You scream so that the people will not see
I’ll lug this weight, this responsibility
———
I will remember I will remember
No matter how much it makes me bleed
I’ll nourish the embers, nourish the embers
Until my gods are truly freed
I will keep loving I will keep hating
I will keep knowing and keep on believing
Until the truth is known by all
Until my gods can stand up tall
It’s a penance, not a quest
Until this curse-struck world is blessed
———
I am sobbing into the void
And yet maybe
Somebody will hear me
May the Global North be destroyed
And hopefully
The wretched come rising
———
I will remember I will remember
No matter how much it makes me bleed
I’ll nourish the embers, nourish the embers
Until my gods are truly freed
I will keep loving I will keep hating
I will keep knowing and keep on believing
Until the truth is known by all
Until my gods can stand up tall
It’s a penance, not a quest
Until this curse-struck world is blessed
———
If I die singing
Then I’ll die singing
If I die singing
I’ll die believing

Chapter 33: Dearest Friend

Notes:

(See the end of the chapter for notes.)

Chapter Text

Don’t give up
If not for yourself then for this city
We need you here
And we’ll keep on needing you for eternity
Your wit, your heart, your passion and strength and your empathy
Don’t give up
If not for yourself then for humanity
———
The Mother will keep you in Her arms
The Mother will shelter you from harm
The Mother will show you Her ways
The Mother will keep you always
———
Be yourself
If not for you then for divinity
She made you be
Exactly who you are, who your heart longs to be
Follow your heart and live in your true authenticity
Be yourself
If not for you then for infinity
———
The Mother will keep you in Her arms
The Mother will shelter you from harm
The Mother will show you Her ways
The Mother will keep you always
———
They say they say that there’s no way
That somebody like you can stay
Have faith, have faith, oh dearest friend
Your spirit will live till the end
They say they say we don’t belong
We both know what they say is wrong
Be brave, be brave, oh dearest friend
Your love will guide you till the end
———
The Mother will keep you in Her arms
The Mother will shelter you from harm
The Mother will show you Her ways
The Mother will keep you always

Chapter 34: Back to the Sky

Notes:

(See the end of the chapter for notes.)

Chapter Text

I’d rather be the lamb that you slaughter
Than act like you are my son or my daughter
I’d rather die in the bite of the winter
I’d rather be in the gut of a monster
———
I’d rather die in the salt-fucked water
Than act like I’m wanting to leave my daughter
I’d rather die of the thirst and the hunger
Than live my life as a slave with no power
———
I do not want to live in a story
I don’t want fangs or sharp claws or an army
All that I want is to leave this world of bone
So my people can be free in the sky’s home
